A. Chekhov
The Cherry Orchard is Russian playwright Anton Chekhov s last play. It premiered at the Moscow Art
Theatre 17 January 1904 in a production directed by Constantin Stanislavski. Chekhov intended this
play as a comedy and it does contain some elements of farce; however, Stanislavski insisted on
directing the play as a tragedy. Since this initial production, directors have had to contend with the
dual nature of this play.
The play concerns an aristocratic Russian woman and her family as they return to the family s estate
(which includes a large and well known cherry orchard) just before it is auctioned to pay the
mortgage. While presented with options to save the estate, the family essentially does nothing and the
play ends with the estate ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Chekhov was apparently delighted with the very sound of the title, and enjoyed the same sense of
triumph months later when he finally revealed it to Stanislavski. By October 1903 the play was
finished and sent to the Moscow Art Theater. Three weeks later Chekhov arrived at rehearsals in what
would be a vain attempt to curb all the weepiness from the play which Stanislavski had developed.
The author apparently also snickered when, during rehearsals, the word orchard was replaced with the
more practical plantation , feeling he had perfectly and symbolically captured the impracticality of an
entire way of life.

St. Francis s Basic Social Services Essay
Since 1984 Saint Francis has offered basic social services that potentially save the lives of several. As
the organization itself says, Saint Francis house s main mission is to rebuild lives by providing refuge
and pathways to stability for adults experiencing homelessness and poverty (Saint Francis House 1).
They do this by providing several services. Their services include: Food, daytime shelter, clothing,
showers and toiletries, and mail ID services. Going over the services in more depth, the food
department makes sure each homeless person is fed. They serve breakfast from 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m.,
and lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the first floor dining area every day. Additionally, they provide
back up food / emergency sandwiches at 2:45 am for anyone that may need it at night. Just over the
last year they served 220,000 meals, showing the impact it has within the people they serve in Boston.
Moreover, the clothing distribution center, rather Fresh Threads focuses on being a center for clothing
items. Here, the person can register for an appointment where they can get dressed from head to toe.
They can receive an outfit, outerwear, footwear, accessories or any other seasonal item. Additionally,
the day center offers a shower, toothbrush and toiletries items to those that need it, and establishing an
email or mail system offers a secure and safe place for the homeless to receive mail for whatever
reason. Interestingly, a personal favorite activity here is

From Heaven to Hell Essay
It was a pleasant day in Villaviva as usual. The white picket fences gleamed in the sun and the
trimmed maple trees lining the sidewalk swayed in the zephyrs. The crystal blue lake that stretched for
miles was glistening and the leaves of the lush green forest rustled gently. Kelly Tate balanced a straw
basket on her hip as she picked some fresh peppers from The Grove, a garden where food was
everlasting, ranging anywhere from bread to cherries. A couple of peppers fell to the ground but Kelly
ignored them. Someone who works here will pick them up, she thought. But as soon as she flipped her
strawberry blonde hair behind her, her arm started to tingle. She glanced at the moral compass
attached to her forearm and noticed the tiny copper ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Kelly thought he was going insane. Her 9th grade class would call him Luke the Lunatic. Luke would
always try to talk to Kelly whenever he had the chance. Today was one of those days. I m not kidding
Kelly. They are going crazy! No Luke, I think you are, she murmured under her breath. She felt a
small shock and sighed. Part of being Good meant being kind to everyone. Kelly wasn t bothered by
the rule; she just wished it didn t apply to certain people. They shocked someone to death because she
had a cold. They re trying to prevent disease from spreading in some twisted way. I think they re going
to end up killing basically everyone! he whispered hysterically with his brown eyes bulging. Kelly
nonchalantly looked up at Luke, who was a head taller than her and drawled, Whatever Luke, I gotta
go now. She slipped past him and smiled at a mother and her baby. They waved back. Kelly pushed
through the green house doors, jogged to the hover board parking lot and her food bounced behind her
like jumping beans in a hot pot. She zoomed past the identical Tudor houses and slowed to stop at her
home, 16 Hollow Terrace. Kelly ran up the brick houses and burst through the door. Mom, I m home,
she yelled and plopped the groceries on the granite kitchen counter. She sat down on a stool and
browsed through a fashion magazine but was soon interrupted by Ingrid, Kelly s younger sister
coming bounding down the stairs.

What Is The Mystery Of Jay Gatsby
The mystery of Jay Gatsby is the only thing that keep me intrigued at times where the long winded
descriptions and adjectives became a bit too much for me. I did not get the concept of the book at first
because I thought everything from the beginning to the end would be told from Jay Gatsby s point of
view. No one seemed to know anything factual about this man, yet everyone knew of him because of
his wealth and lavish parties. I was surprised at how low key the book or rather the author introduced
him, physically. I thought he would have a grand entrance, not something so understated and subtle.
The extravagant parties he hosted prompted me to believe he was more like the rich people in this
book, snobby and arrogant. Now I have the impression

Stefan Sagmeister Research Paper
Stefan Sagmeister was born in Australia. He would attend and graduate from an art school in
Dornbirn, Australia and would then go on to apply for graphic design at the University of Applied Arts

to also include the usage of movement and stop motion graphics within the campaign. The turnout was
very successful. The usage of bold color also helped to make the Frutti pop and give a sense of
playfulness throughout the imagery.

Peta Animal Rights
Although we have, in theory, abolished human slavery, recognized women s rights, and stopped child
labor, we continue to enslave other species who, if we simply pay attention, show quite clearly that
they experience parental love, pain, and the desire for freedom, just as we do once said Ingrid
Newkirk, beloved animal rights activist and cofounder of the largest animal rights organizations,
PETA, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals. There is a much bigger picture than which lies
centered on the human species. Earth is inhabited with a rich variety of about eight million species,
most of which have been thought to exist for millions of years before humans evolved. The array of
diversity of life on our planet is mind blowing, however, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The admired biologist and conservationist E.O. Wilson once said, we should preserve every scrap of
biodiversity as priceless while we learn to use it and come to understand what it means to humanity.
This quote seems to encompass the overall main goal of zoologists: to preserve biodiversity, and while
we have it, study and examine it, and make discoveries that could help save all those on this planet.
Dr. Tim Cockerel, in a published interview with BBC, defined his job as a zoologist as someone who
studies species from anything to the diversity of animals, to how animals interact with other living
things, to how animals and humans interact with each other, and how we can make plans to save
threatened or endangered species for the future years to come (Cockerill). The typical zoologist
observes animals in a variety of settings, while studying behavioral tendencies, their natural habitat,
and how their acquired traits are passed down from generation to generation. Some daily activities of a
zoologist include dissection of animal specimens, preparation of slides of disease tissue under
microscopes, studying aggression or mating behaviors, testing the effects of drugs on animals, and
directing biological technicians who work alongside them. They may write scientific reports,
inventory or estimate wildlife populations, consult with management systems, must articulate well and
understand others. Many people who are involved in this field publish articles about their recent
research. The typical employers of zoologists include government departments, universities, private
research firms, biotechnology companies, zoos, wildlife sanctuaries, pharmaceutical agriculture, or
food research companies, environmental consulting firms, and possibly other private organizations. A
zoologist may

Sherlock Holmes Double Deduction Essay
To Sherlock Holmes she is always the woman. I have seldom heard him mention her under any other
name. In his eyes she eclipses and predominates the whole of her sex. It was not that he felt any
emotion akin to love for Irene Adler. All emotions, and that one particularly, were abhorrent to his
cold, precise but admirably balanced mind. He was, I take it, the most perfect reasoning and observing
machine that the world has seen, but as a lover he would have placed himself in a false position. He
never spoke of the softer passions, save with a gibe and a sneer. They were admirable things for the
observer excellent for drawing the veil from men s motives and actions. But for the trained reasoner to
admit such intrusions into his own delicate and finely adjusted temperament was to introduce a
distracting factor which ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Gay Fathers And Their Children
DANIEL WINUNWE RIVERS. Radical Relations: Lesbian Mothers, Gay Fathers, and Their Children
in the United States since World War II. (Gender and American Culture.) Chapel Hill: University of
North Carolina Press, 2013. Pp. xii, 296. $32.50.
Recent representation of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) families in mainstream
media, exemplified by the long running sitcom Modern Family, and the 2015 United States Supreme
Court s ruling in favor of same sex marriage, may lead some to believe LGBT families are a recent
phenomenon. Daniel Winunwe Rivers Radical Relations: Lesbian Mothers, Gay Fathers, and Their
Children in the United States since World War II brilliantly uncovers the previously untold history of
same sex families. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Radical Relations prominently explores the history of lesbian mothers. Lesbian mother groups fought
not only against heteronormative families, but also for women s reproductive rights. Rivers
underscores the advocacy of groups like the Lesbian Mother Union in favor of legal abortions, sex
workers rights and health care for all women, and against forced sterilization of women of color. The
author innovatively presents this advocacy work as an unrecognized part of the 1960 s sexual
revolution. It would be interesting to analyze the reverse, that is, the impact the free to love revolution
had on the general population s perception of the LGBT community. Lesbian mother groups also
fundraised money for custody cases. Women who left their heterosexual marriage faced the possibility
of custody loss, poverty, and employment discrimination. The author explores the magnified struggles
of Black gay women but fails to do so with Black gay men.
Rivers credits the gay father groups, which were politically centered, for 1990 s gay family
respectability. The narrative of gay father communities lacks the intense anguish present on the
chapters about lesbian mothers; it is more factual and impersonal. This shortcoming can probably be
explained by River s upbringing in lesbian community, and, therefore, less extensive contact with the
male gay community. The author describes the

The Use Of Surveillance As A Mechanism Of Control
The use of Surveillance as a Mechanism of Control Elen1003 Project 2; Topic No. 2; Tutor: Deneo
Mfenyana 1036603 James Phillips Surveillance is an extremely effective mechanism to control a large
group of people or society in our modern world. This method of control can prove to have a strong
effect on a person s sense of privacy and can induce a strong sense of fear and anxiety. There are
various methods from which government agents can monitor a group of people. In the novel, 1984 by
George Orwell, these methods and theories are depicted very well. These methods include, the use of
Telescreens (similar to CCTV), spying organizations including undercover police, and a psychological
mechanism of anxiety, called the Panopticon Effect . George Orwell s 1984, is not a prediction of how
he thought that we would live in 1984, but is a warning of what can happen, if we allow a dictatorship
or totalitarian state to take control In general, citizens of a country may be prone to accept certain
methods of control, provided that their country is able to justify valid reasons for it. This has been
implemented in the past, for example, during the Great Depression, the citizens of America had to
accept methods such as rationing, as it was the only way to be able to access basic needs in times of
no money and jobs (Rationing and Scrap Drives in Rural America, no date). The citizens may be told
that surveillance will be in their best interest that it will protect them and

The Effects Of Children With Learning Disabilities On...
Life in a family that has a child with a learning disability is often both complex and challenging. There
are generally many practical as well as emotional issues involved. Many things have to be considered
such as educational, medical, and financial decisions. There are many issues that may arise from
having a child with a learning disability such as family stress, parenting discrepancies, negative
reactions from extended family members, difficulty in interacting with the school, and mixed effects
upon siblings (Dyson, 2010). In this essay I will discuss the main points of Dyson s article,
Unanticipated effects of children with learning disabilities on their families, things I learned from the
article, potential challenges and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The article describes the results of these other studies as being inconsistent. This is because the other
studies state that there are higher levels of stress in families with children having disabilities than
those that do not. A study conducted by Dyson found that despite higher degrees of stress, families of
children with developmental disabilities experienced the same level of family cohesion, maintenance
of the family system, and emphasis on personal growth as families of nondisabled children (Dyson,
2010). These studies regarding how disabilities affect the family have conflicting results therefore
Dyson wanted to know if similar results would be found in a study conducted with families that have
learning disabled children. The study that was conducted tested the hypotheses that having a child that
is learning disabled will have a negative effect on family life and on siblings in particular. The study
was conducted through the use of focus groups which conducted in depth group interviews and
consisted of ten families represented by eleven parents. The results of the study concluded that parents
suffered guilt, family stress, as well as martial tension. There were also parents blaming each other as
well as issues in regards to parenting styles. In regards to extended family support many parents felt

As the project progressed, Edward remained elusive, never responding to group discussions or emails
from the team leader, but he did occasionally reply to a few emails from Shae. During the week in
which the TAR draft was due, Shae and I agreed that it was in the team s best interest to inform the
instructor of Edward s lack of participation. Only then did he begin to participate more regularly, but
still continued to miss the agreed upon timeline schedule. Because of this Nate, Shae and I always
ended up scrambling to proofread and make any necessary revisions just a few hours before the
submission deadline.
Edward was responsible for the abstract, introduction and conclusion sections of the report. His
contributions revealed a lack of research and were completed at the last minute. As the time
management expert, he failed this duty. For any future team projects that Edward might be involved
in, I would suggest that he adequately research the topic, participate actively in group discussions and
make the necessary personal schedule changes to stay on schedule with the agreed upon timeline.
Nate Couturier was absent during the first week of the project, but as I explained earlier, he had an
acceptable reason for that. Going forward, he was

Comparing Piaget And Vygotsky s Zone Of Proximal Development
Vygotsky s zone of proximal development(ZPD) has been interpreted as: the distance between the
actual developmental level as determined by independent problem solving and the level of potential
development as determined through problem solving under adult guidance, or in collaboration with
more capable peers (Vygotsky, 1978, p. 86) Lev Vygotsky sees communication with associates as a
viable method for developing skills and techniques. He recommends that instructors utilize
cooperative learning sessions where less able students improve with assistance from more able peers,
inside the zone of proximal improvement. Vygotsky trusted that when a student is in the ZPD for a
specific task, giving the suitable assistance(scaffolding) will give the ... Show more content on

Both Piaget and Vygotsky believed that development happens in the light of the fact that the child is a
dynamic learner. Children are required in the learning and development process as they give input to
the grown up or instructor about their level of comprehension. Likewise, they both trust that
development decreases the older a person gets. Like Piaget, Vygotsky believed that there were a few
issues out of a child s scope of comprehension. In any case, conversely, Vygotsky believed that given
the appropriate help, youngsters could solve an issue that Piaget would consider to be out of the child
s mental capacities. Additionally, Piaget and Vygotsky differ in the way they approach discovery
learning. Piaget upheld discovery learning with little educator interruption, whereas Vygotsky
encouraged guided discovery in the classroom. Guided discovery includes the educator offering
fascinating inquiries to students and having them find the appropriate responses through
experimenting with hypotheses. Piaget s theory expresses that cognitive development is affected by
social transmission, which basically means learning from other individuals. In contrast, Vygotsky s
theory expresses that cognitive development is affected by peer collaboration, which suggests that
when an individual takes part in an interactive activity, his language and cognition are developing.
Vygotsky s theory is all around put to practice in educating methods. Piaget s theory, however,
suggests a liking in discovering and learning done by the people

he did to build an empire. Also What he invented during his younger years also who he partnered up

America. He was born in July 8, 1839 in Richard, New York. Even as a child he was into the
industrious stuff. he started his life earning money with raising turkeys, selling candy and doing jobs
for neighbors. In 1853 John D. Rockefeller and his family moved to Cleveland, Ohio. John D.
Rockefeller went to high school and briefly studied bookkeeping at a commercial college. When he
turned 16 he started working as a office clark in Cleveland. The job was that he had too sell and ship
grain, cole and other materials. In 1864, Rockefeller married Laura Celestia Spelman. Her father was a
merchant. In 1865 John D. Rockefeller borrowed money to buy out some of his competitors and take
control of the refinery, which became the biggest growing oil Company in Cleveland. In the next few
years he partnered up with other businesses and expanded his oil industry even more. In 1870 John D.
Rockefeller made the Standard Oil famous with Kerosene. John D. Rockefeller made a monopoly in
the oil industry by buying rival refineries and also developing companies for distributing and
marketing its products around the globe. In 1882 all of these various companies where brought into

Analysis of Online Banking Industry
According to King, McKay, Marshall, Lee and Viehland (2008) online banking or electronic banking
(e banking) includes various banking activities conducted via the Internet from home, business, or on
the road opposed to at a physical bank location. This paper shall compare and contrast both the online
and offline retail environment for banking services.
Internet banking offers great opportunities to the financial services industry, including:
a huge potential customer base
large economies of scale in investment
the possibility for services to be delivered using standardised modular software
easy management of software
a common browser front end
the possibility to be equipped with good security protocols
the easy application ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The sites must be user friendly and convey a feeling of security.
According to Zakaria (2003) even though Internet banking has been long established, one of the most
important factors that may be slowing its progression is customer s concern for security of financial
transactions over the Internet. In a recent Key Note consumer survey (conducted in 2008) into
attitudes towards electronic banking, 40% of respondents said that they liked to manage their money
using the Internet. The survey found men were slightly more likely than women to use this channel.
51.3% of respondents postulated that they were concerned about the security aspects of electronic
banking and 25.1% of the sample would not trust an electronic bank with their money (Source: Key
Note Report 2008).
Due to the nature of the online environment it is difficult for banks to build trust and relationships
with their customers. The Internet is extremely impersonal due to its global audience, the bricks and
mortar location of the local branch with a smiling advisor is much more inviting in comparison to a
cold lifeless computer screen. Also the learning process involved in using e banking can be daunting,
customers must invest their time and effort into learning more to use and navigate their way around
the sites. Internet banking can also be time consuming to set up and registration numbers and access
codes can be misplaced, stolen or forgotten. Although

what I feel the author Collins was talking about in his quote, we must define what passion really is.
There were a couple of definitions for passion.
Strong and barely controllable emotion:
Any powerful or compelling emotion or feeling, as love or hate:
Strong enormous feelings desire: love, adore
Strong or extravagant fondness, enthusiasm, or desire for anything.

How you use your time or don t use your time is going to be the best indication of where your future is
going to take you. Just think about when you work hard at something you become good at it, and

very passionate about it and enjoy it very much. Collins also stated that you cannot manufacture
passion or motivate people to feel passionate. You can only discover what ignites your passion and the
passions of those around you. (Collins, pg. 109). Now with the good to great companies they did not
say, okay, folks, let s get passionate about what we do. They went in a totally different direction by
only doing the things that folks could get passionate about. And this passion became a very important
part of the Hedgehog concept. An example of this would be the Kimberly Clarke executives who
made the shift to paper based consumer products in large because they thought they could become

and the constellations was remarkable and complemented what I have being learning in my astronomy
course. The night of the observation was a clear night. The sun was out, it was 9:30 pm and we could
see the yellow and orange spectrum of the sun. This was a great example of what happen to the
Northern Hemisphere in June solstice, when days are longer. That bright night I saw the planet Earth

Fig. 4 shows that the fit of this sum to the original data is robust. The annual and semi annual
frequencies are seen to reproduce or account for most of the pattern in the hospital admission data,
indicating that asthma is very seasonal in El Paso. The fall peak occurs at the end of the rainy season;
the spring during the severe dry season winds. Note amplitude and phase shifts associated with the
2006 July August monsoon. The fall asthma peak occurred a month early, with extreme intensity.
This process of Fourier transform and back transform establishes the essential frequency components
of the temporal data while eliminating high frequency noise. This is a powerful technique to:

Fig. 7 Left Fracture admissions for 3 Texas cities, time domain. Right Fourier transform, frequency

random. In striking contrast, Houston shows 5 prominent, high amplitude frequency peaks at the 1, 2,
3, 4, and 5 integers of cpy. Other prominent non integer peaks also are present. In the time domain, it
is seen that this complex set of frequency peaks mathematically recreates a single prominent cycle of
negative peaks, corresponding to a low point in fracture admissions around late January of each year.
Why are fractures seasonal in Houston? Studies in other regions indicate a seasonal hip fracture in the
elderly, typically associated with winter slips on ice (ice storms are unusual in Houston) or shortened
daylight. Here, Houston exhibits an annual winter fracture minimum. The amplitude of the peaks
leaves no doubt that this finding cannot be an artifact of the data or its processing. Nor is it likely an
artifact of some peculiarity of the Houston health care system or its hospital admissions

Coach Ken Carter s Coach Carter
Coach Carter, an inspiring movie directed by Thomas Carter that told the story of a real life high
school basketball coach, was filled with unique and intriguing characters that underwent a
heartwarming growth throughout the movie. Coach Ken Carter, the main character, was the one that
helped the team evolve by being demanding, fun and, most importantly, by showing a strong sense of
leadership. It was through Ken Carter s actions and words that we were able to see that he was made
to coach the players and how much the team meant to him.
Firstly, Coach Carter was capable of being exceedingly demanding, whether it was with the boys of
the basketball team or with his own son when they were at home. It was easy to understand how much
he pushed te basketball players when he said: Average is juste not good enough. Period! (??:??), which
meant that he wanted the team to be the best. It was also evident that he asked for a lot when he
demanded that his players maintained a grade point average of 2.3 or greater, instead of the 2.1 they
were normally required to have. He also asked the team to wear ties when there were games, made
them do a lot of suicides and push ups, and asked them to call each others sir . Although the Coach s
requests may have been annoying to the players, it was obvious that, in the long run, Ken really only
wanted the best for them. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

past, like his sister Diane or his childhood sweetheart Delilah, to teach some game strategy. The Coach
s humor motivated the team and made the practices more entertaining. With his retort and his funny
side, Ken Carter really knew how to make basketball be a little more

Victor Chang
Good morning friends, family and all those of you who are here today to celebrate the life of a great
man, Victor Chang. Before I begin, I would like to offer my deepest sympathies to the Chang family
for their unfortunate loss. This was a senseless and wasteful murder of such an innocent man.
When I remember Victor, three words come to mind; Compassion, talent and persistence.
Victor Chang, born on the 25 November 1936 in Shanghai, China was a very talented and naturally
gifted person. Victor moved to Hong Kong at a young age from his hometown where he attended
primary school and completed part of his secondary education. When Victor was only 15 years old he

I guess this is why Victor was so suited to it being a complex thinker he was more than qualified in
every aspect to meet the challenge.
Later on in his career, it was evident that most of dynamic cardiothoracic research was taking place
overseas. Persistent in always increasing his expertise, Victor moved to the UK in 1965 where he
undertook his training and met his wife, Anne. After 5 years of intense work Victor again moved
overseas, to the USA in 1970, where once again he sought after more education. One year later Victor
moved back to Australia where his career in heart surgery was to reach great heights.
One of the peek moments in Victors career was when he had performed the first heart transplant to a
young girl, Fiona Coote. The operation was a complete success and gained the media attention and
awareness Victor was so desperately needed. Dr Chang was not only my doctor but my friend was the
statement she had made. This was so true for every patient Victor touched. The courage and
determination he had shown was immeasurable.
Throughout his life long career Victor had performed over 197 Heart transplants and 14 lung
transplants giving hope and new life to men, women and children all around the world who otherwise
would be faced with certain death. With an average survival rate of 85 percent, Victor had blitzed all
expectation.

Persuasive Essay On Tissue Lacks
I believe that anybody shouldn t run along through what the doctors did to Henrietta Lacks. Henrietta
persisted a mother of five children and after she gave birth to her fifth children, she occurred to be
diagnosed with cervical cancer. The doctors stole her cells without her permission. From there on
evolution of laws have been concerning tissue search. One of the issues comes to pass if people should
be given the legal ownership of their tissues. In my opinion, I feel like everybody should be given the
legal right of their tissues. In 1951, 2009, and 1999 many laws were different than now. One law that
was different was if doctors took cells without permission it was totally fine and the government didn t
care. For example, one quote that the text lists is, When I tell people the story of Henrietta Lacks and
her cells, their first question is usually Wasn t it illegal for doctors to take Henrietta s cells without her
knowledge? Don t doctors have to tell you when they use your cells in research? The answer is no not
in 1951 and not in 2009... What this piece of evidence is trying to say is that the doctors back then
didn t really care about if what they were doing was right or wrong and if the patient s approved of
what they did to their cells. Another piece of textual evidence is, When you go to the doctor for a
routine blood test or to have a molecule removed, when you have an appendectomy, tonsillectomy, or
any other kind of ectomy, the stuff you leave behind

Stepping Into The Dance Studio
Stepping into the dance studio for my first ballet class, mirrored walls and a long bar, I immediately
immersed myself into becoming the ballerina from my fairytale books. After that first year I laced up
my shiny black tap shoes for my first tap class, a new love was born. That love was replaced only
when I learned to clog. All three styles of dance have unique characteristics but all three have much in
common.
Dance has certain qualities such as poise, grace, and balance. The first years of dance are basic and
fundamental moves but these evolve over time and with hours of practicing. I also learned
responsibility, time management, determination, and a good work ethic. Whether it was landing a
specific move in ballet or nailing a double time step in clogging, there is always something to take
from each style of dance. Ballet is the core, the foundation, of all of these styles of dance, the balance
and strength learned in ballet are used in tap and clogging as well.
Ballet was the first style of dance that I learned. As soon as I was old enough to take at Alicia s School
of Performing Arts in Benson, North Carolina my mom quickly signed me up for ballet. I did ballet
for fourteen years, up until I graduated high school. Over those years I had three different instructors,
all who had their own style of teaching, helping me become a better ballerina. My posture improved as
well as my confidence. Ballet works to improve the core strength and power and teaches you how to

Charles also believe that No matter how close two people eventually become they always begin as

Fetal Tissues And Its Effects
Fetal tissues are advantageous in medical therapy for a myriad of ways. Most commonly, the fetal
tissue cells would be used to treat neurodegenerative diseases such as Parkinson s, Huntington s
disease, and Alzheimer s disease. More recent breakthroughs show possibilities of the use of fetal
tissues for diabetes and an assortment of blood and immune disorders. (Bachoud, 2000) Fetal tissues
divide more rapidly than matured tissues, making them better candidates for the experimental medical
therapy. (Fackleman,1995) In addition, by using fetal tissues in the transplant, the possibility of the
host rejecting the transplant is significantly lower than that of the use of matured tissues. (McCloskey)
The objective behind the transplant is to restore the lost functions in a person ridden with a
neurodegenerative and otherwise incurable disease. (Bensoussan, 2002) There are billions of nerve
cells in a human brain. Neurodegenerative diseases, like Parkinson s and Huntington s disease cause
the selective loss of approximately 500,000 cells in the brain which once performed critical functions.
(Bachoud Levi, 2000) The loss of these cells results in result in devastating, oftentimes fatal
symptoms. The course of these disease is often gradual and occurs over many years, producing an
overall deterioration of motor skills and brain function. While the cause of neurodegenerative diseases
has been theorized, the specifics of the causes are unknown. (Ezzell, 1992) Less than five percent

Analysis Of The Presidential Leadership Harry Truman
An Analysis of the Presidential Leadership Harry Truman
Crystal G. DeLong
PSCI 5324: Executive Branch
Analytical Essay #2
Dr. Faulkner
August 3, 2016 The successes, or lack of success, of an American president is tied to the effectiveness
of their presidential leadership. President Harry Truman served the American people as president from
1945 to 1953; he became president suddenly after the death of Franklin D. Roosevelt amidst the end
of World War II. Truman s presidency would carry into the aftermath of World War II and see the
beginning of the Cold War. A tenacious man, he led the country from isolation into the beginning of
modern American foreign policy. Ferrell argued that Truman may be second only to Abraham Lincoln
as one of the greatest presidents. Winston Churchill said of President Truman, You, more than any
other man, have saved Western civilization. Harry Truman s presidential leadership style proved to be
effective and places him among the top American presidents. Presidential leadership is more than just
charisma, a president s personal qualities, particularly his energy and competence, make all the
difference. Using Freud s psychological principles of leadership, Freud emphasized that an effective
leader should be representative of the group , someone who has the typical traits or characteristics of

it took. I felt a pop. The ball was out of bounds and I was on the ground. But why was I on the
ground? This had never happened before. The Richland center player capitalized on my lapse in
concentration and restarted the play before I could think any longer on the matter. And that s when I
knew something was wrong. Everything sort of stopped; all noise became absolutely pin drop silent. I
couldn t even feel the sting of the cold breeze. The only thing that mattered was stopping them from
scoring. We had worked to hard for me to give up. I kicked the ball out of bounds once again. The
world was sort of coming back at this point. And all I could hear was people yelling at me to sit down.
Why would I want to sit down? They were going to score; I couldn t let them do that. The team

Uber is a transportation network application developed by the company Uber Technologies Inc.
Launched in 2011, Uber is currently available to over sixty countries, including the Philippines. This

Because of this mode of payment, the drivers need not worry about giving change, nor do the
passengers need to consider if the amount of money they are carrying is enough to pay for the trip. He
also added that Uber is safer than GrabTaxi since both the driver and the rider learn a few details about

Hydraulic Fracture Case Study
In grid based models, the fracture is propagated through a fixed grid. This idea was used in early 2D
hydraulic fracture simulators (Settari 1980) where when the stress normal to the fracture plane
exceeded the tensile strength, the fracture extended into a new grid cell. Therefore, grid based models
were suitable for coupling with reservoir simulators and geomechanics codes (Ji, Settari, and Sullivan
2009). 3D grid based models were extended to deal with multiple fractures, for example, the
MultiFrac Placement Pseudo 3D (MLF P3D) model (Dontsov and Peirce 2015). These models are

effect of natural fractures, stress distribution, and influence of the mechanical properties of fracture

fracture networks accounting for fluid flow in the fracture network and elastic deformation of the
fractures. The initial assumptions and governing equations (fluid flow in the fracture network, mass
conservation and fracture deformation) are similar to the conventional P3D model (Weng 2015).
Passey et al. (2010) claimed that there is a large variability in lithology between shale plays and even

importance of geomechanics and the state of stress of a shale play for a successful hydraulic fracturing

rock properties, such as brittleness and mineralogy, are fundamental in completion designs. While
ductile shale tend to restore any fracture formed, brittle shale often have natural fractures which react
to hydraulic fracturing (Rickman et al. 2008). In general, the Young s Modulus of the shale measured

Why The Enzyme Is Understanding Their Properties Essay
An important aspect of studying proteins is understanding their properties. The hypothesis of this
experiment aimed to test whether the enzyme in question, N acetyl β D Hexosaminidase, has an
overall negative charge and will elute from the DEAE column in the first protein peak. The
experiment was done in two parts. The absorbance values obtained from conducting the Lowry protein
assay were used to extrapolate the total amount of protein and calculate the concentration of the
protein. The total amount of protein in the sample was 120µg and the concentration of the protein was
24.0 µg/µl, which was within the allowed range of error. An enzyme assay with paranitrophenol was
conducted to determine the specific activity of the enzyme. The specific activity of the isozyme HEX
B was calculated to be 0.00009 units/mg and the specific activity of the isozyme HEX A was 0.00004
units/mg. At the conclusion of this experiment, the data obtained from the ion exchange
chromatography indicated that the unknown protein sample contained two isozymes of the enzyme N
acetyl β D Hexosaminidase. It was observed that isozyme HEX A had an overall negative charge and
therefore eluted last from the DEAE column, whereas HEX B had an overall positive charge and did
not bind to the column, hence eluted first.
INTRODUCTION Ion exchange chromatography is a separation technique that separates molecules
and ions based on their overall net charge (1,6). It can be used to separate amino acids, proteins, and

A Book On The Principles Of Finding The Dream Job
We have entered the era of the new wealth, in which the meaning of what you are doing is worth more
than money, according to Roman Krznaric. He wrote a book on the principles of finding the dream
job, and highlighted the main points in it. Therefor, every individual has a unique way of interpreting
the meaning of fulfilling work. To a limited extent, the term might refer to a piece of work that can
meet all the sustainable qualities of a given task so as an individual can quickly attain the fundamental
goals that they need.
Various authors are making the statement about the topic. However, the tenacity of this essay is to
describe the book by Roman Krznaric on how an individual can find the fulfilling work. Nonetheless,
it is to provide an analysis of the specific terminologies used in the book and present suggestions on
how best a person could find a fulfilling piece of work.
Based on the various interpretations that have been made by Roman, the book is exploring on the
competition of claims that most people face for their money, the status of life, and eventually the
meaning of their lives. It is a concept that can help an individual find a type of career in which he can
thrive. On the other hand, the idea of fulfilling work in a job market is to find a job that reflects on an
individual s passion, kind of talents, and the personal values (Krznaric 57). It is often classified as a

Christmas Child Reflection
Operation Christmas Child has been a part of more than half of my life. I started volunteering when I
was eight at a family friend s church. However, the only reason I volunteered was because I needed
community service hours for school. I always secretly wished to be put in the packing group since it
had the least leadership role because I never wanted to be a leader. What I did not know at that time,
was those years before high school were preparing me for what God had in store for me. When I
started my freshman year in high school, I still had to do community service. This led me to continue
doing Operation Christmas Child. I was now volunteering at my school, Trinity Christian High School
along with my athletic director, Mr. Fitz, who was in charge of running it. Even though this was taking
place somewhere else, I expected that I would still be able to have a role not involving leadership.
This was not the case because Mr. Fitz had something else in store for me. He assigned to me the role
of the log sheets, which included talking to people, writing down the amount of boxes were dropped
off, and making sure the logs were neat and correct. I was very nervous to take on this role, so much
that I would start to shake causing me to get anxious and start sweating right before I would have to
talk to someone. There was a routine I went through every time. Hello, have you dropped boxes off

Transportation In San Francisco
Transportation innovation and conditions in San Francisco were not always created easily. San
Francisco s had an exceptional nightmare from a transit point of view. The obvious problem was San

San Francisco expanded population after the Gold Rush led to better paved streets. In the 1870s

Middle Ages Dbq Questions And Answers
Middle Ages DBQ Imagine a world where people were forced to work the land for very little food and
had to pay high taxes. This is what life was like for the peasants, or serfs, in Europe during the Middle
Ages. From 500 to 1500 AD, life in Europe was organized into a categorized system. The Middle
Ages lasted from 476 CE to the 14th Century(OI)
During the Middle Ages, Europeans social, economic and political life was defined by feudalism.
Social life in the Middle Ages was heavily influenced by the feudal system. The King was at the top of
the society then the nobles, knights, and peasants/serfs. The King, nobles, and knights talk to each
other the serfs/peasants are all by themselves (Doc. 1). If you were born as a serf, you would be a serf
for the rest of your life. The kings controlled the land. The nobles were the assistants for the kings.
The knights protected the nobles and the kings, and the serfs were farmers (Doc. 1). Another influence
on the social lives of people was the Church. In a time of great political chaos, the Roman Catholic
Church was the single, largest unifying structure in medieval Europe ... Show more content on

For instance, political leaders only had local power, the Church was the most powerful institution.
Also, two parts of the Code of Chivalry really talked about the Church. They were, Thou Shalt believe
all that the Church teaches, and shalt observe all its directions and Thou Shalt defend the Church
(Doc. 5). In other words, people valued the Church s teachings and directions, so they had to protect it
with all they had. This proves that the Church was important to all the people, the peasants, the kings,
the nobles and the knights. Furthermore, the Church became very powerful, and it often used this
power to influence the kings to do as it wanted (Doc. 3). In summary, the Church had even more
power than the kings. As you can see the Church had the most political

People tend to over exaggerate the harmful effect of marijuana, some say marijuana is wrong in many
ways, including brain damage, damage to the reproductive system, and weakening of the immune
system. In addition people say that marijuana is a gateway drug that leads the users to try much harder
drugs. This is not always the case all the time however. We now know significantly more about
cannabis than most substances we eat or pharmaceutical medications we intake. Based on my research
there are many therapeutic effects and healing abilities of the drug that help with disease and mental
illness. People have developed and used marijuana for all intents and purposes since the start of
written history. Cannabis based materials dating to 7,000 B.C.E. have been recuperated in northern
China, and the plant s utilization as a therapeutic and euphoric specialists go back about as far. The
physical, therapeutic, and psychoactive effects a person experiences after ingesting marijuana are
derived mostly from a family of unique chemicals in the plant known as cannabinoids. Of the dozens
of cannabinoids in marijuana, simply one which is THC, is basically psychoactive. Most strenuous
chemicals in the plant have great therapeutic properties but do not bring euphoria. Many compounds,
specifically the cannabinoid cannabidiol (CBD) offset the psychoactive properties of THC. In 2010,
researchers at Harvard Medical School advocated that that some of the drug s benefits may actually be

Chekhov intended this play as a comedy and it does contain some elements of farce; however, Stanislavski insisted on directing the play as a tragedy. Since this initial production, directors have had to contend with the dual nature of this play. The play concerns an aristocratic Russian woman and her family as they return to the family s estate (which includes a large and well known cherry orchard) just before it is auctioned to pay the mortgage. While presented with options to save the estate, the family essentially does nothing and the play ends with the estate ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Chekhov was apparently delighted with the very sound of the title, and enjoyed the same sense of triumph months later when he finally revealed it to Stanislavski. By October 1903 the play was finished and sent to the Moscow Art Theater. Three weeks later Chekhov arrived at rehearsals in what would be a vain attempt to curb all the weepiness from the play which Stanislavski had developed. The author apparently also snickered when, during rehearsals, the word orchard was replaced with the more practical plantation , feeling he had perfectly and symbolically captured the impracticality of an entire way of life. Synopsis Act I Act I opens in the early morning hours of a day in May in the nursery of Madame Ranevskaya s ancestral estate somewhere in the provinces of Russia just after the turn of the 20th Century. Lyubov Andreyevna Ranevskaya returns to her country house with her 17 year old daughter Anya and her German governess Charlotta Ivanovna, as well as her valet, Yasha, from Paris where they have been living for the past five years. The trio is met by Varya, Mme. Ranevskaya s adopted daughter who has overseen the estate in her absence; Yermolai Alexeevich Lopakhin, a local merchant and family friend; Leonid Andreevich Gayev, Mme. As the organization itself says, Saint Francis house s main mission is to rebuild lives by providing refuge and pathways to stability for adults experiencing homelessness and poverty (Saint Francis House 1). They do this by providing several services. Their services include: Food, daytime shelter, clothing, showers and toiletries, and mail ID services. Going over the services in more depth, the food department makes sure each homeless person is fed. They serve breakfast from 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m., and lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the first floor dining area every day. Additionally, they provide back up food / emergency sandwiches at 2:45 am for anyone that may need it at night. The crystal blue lake that stretched for miles was glistening and the leaves of the lush green forest rustled gently. Kelly Tate balanced a straw basket on her hip as she picked some fresh peppers from The Grove, a garden where food was everlasting, ranging anywhere from bread to cherries. A couple of peppers fell to the ground but Kelly ignored them. Someone who works here will pick them up, she thought. I did not get the concept of the book at first because I thought everything from the beginning to the end would be told from Jay Gatsby s point of view. No one seemed to know anything factual about this man, yet everyone knew of him because of his wealth and lavish parties. I was surprised at how low key the book or rather the author introduced him, physically. I thought he would have a grand entrance, not something so understated and subtle. This quote seems to encompass the overall main goal of zoologists: to preserve biodiversity, and while we have it, study and examine it, and make discoveries that could help save all those on this planet. Dr. Tim Cockerel, in a published interview with BBC, defined his job as a zoologist as someone who studies species from anything to the diversity of animals, to how animals interact with other living things, to how animals and humans interact with each other, and how we can make plans to save threatened or endangered species for the future years to come (Cockerill). The typical zoologist observes animals in a variety of settings, while studying behavioral tendencies, their natural habitat, and how their acquired traits are passed down from generation to generation. Some daily activities of a zoologist include dissection of animal specimens, preparation of slides of disease tissue under microscopes, studying aggression or mating behaviors, testing the effects of drugs on animals, and directing biological technicians who work alongside them. They may write scientific reports, inventory or estimate wildlife populations, consult with management systems, must articulate well and understand others. Many people who are involved in this field publish articles about their recent research. Lesbian mother groups fought not only against heteronormative families, but also for women s reproductive rights. Rivers underscores the advocacy of groups like the Lesbian Mother Union in favor of legal abortions, sex workers rights and health care for all women, and against forced sterilization of women of color. The author innovatively presents this advocacy work as an unrecognized part of the 1960 s sexual revolution. It would be interesting to analyze the reverse, that is, the impact the free to love revolution had on the general population s perception of the LGBT community. Lesbian mother groups also fundraised money for custody cases. Women who left their heterosexual marriage faced the possibility of custody loss, poverty, and employment discrimination. The author explores the magnified struggles of Black gay women but fails to do so with Black gay men. Rivers credits the gay father groups, which were politically centered, for 1990 s gay family respectability. The narrative of gay father communities lacks the intense anguish present on the chapters about lesbian mothers; it is more factual and impersonal. This shortcoming can probably be explained by River s upbringing in lesbian community, and, therefore, less extensive contact with the male gay community. The author describes the ... This method of control can prove to have a strong effect on a person s sense of privacy and can induce a strong sense of fear and anxiety. There are various methods from which government agents can monitor a group of people. In the novel, 1984 by George Orwell, these methods and theories are depicted very well. These methods include, the use of Telescreens (similar to CCTV), spying organizations including undercover police, and a psychological mechanism of anxiety, called the Panopticon Effect . George Orwell s 1984, is not a prediction of how he thought that we would live in 1984, but is a warning of what can happen, if we allow a dictatorship or totalitarian state to take control In general, citizens of a country may be prone to accept certain methods of control, provided that their country is able to justify valid reasons for it. This has been implemented in the past, for example, during the Great Depression, the citizens of America had to accept methods such as rationing, as it was the only way to be able to access basic needs in times of no money and jobs (Rationing and Scrap Drives in Rural America, no date). Both Piaget and Vygotsky believed that development happens in the light of the fact that the child is a dynamic learner. Children are required in the learning and development process as they give input to the grown up or instructor about their level of comprehension. Likewise, they both trust that development decreases the older a person gets. Like Piaget, Vygotsky believed that there were a few issues out of a child s scope of comprehension. In any case, conversely, Vygotsky believed that given the appropriate help, youngsters could solve an issue that Piaget would consider to be out of the child s mental capacities. Additionally, Piaget and Vygotsky differ in the way they approach discovery learning. Piaget upheld discovery learning with little educator interruption, whereas Vygotsky encouraged guided discovery in the classroom. Guided discovery includes the educator offering fascinating inquiries to students and having them find the appropriate responses through experimenting with hypotheses. Piaget s theory expresses that cognitive development is affected by social transmission, which basically means learning from other individuals. In contrast, Vygotsky s theory expresses that cognitive development is affected by peer collaboration, which suggests that when an individual takes part in an interactive activity, his language and cognition are developing. Coach Ken Carter, the main character, was the one that helped the team evolve by being demanding, fun and, most importantly, by showing a strong sense of leadership. It was through Ken Carter s actions and words that we were able to see that he was made to coach the players and how much the team meant to him. Firstly, Coach Carter was capable of being exceedingly demanding, whether it was with the boys of the basketball team or with his own son when they were at home. It was easy to understand how much he pushed te basketball players when he said: Average is juste not good enough. Period! (??:??), which meant that he wanted the team to be the best. It was also evident that he asked for a lot when he demanded that his players maintained a grade point average of 2.3 or greater, instead of the 2.1 they were normally required to have. He also asked the team to wear ties when there were games, made them do a lot of suicides and push ups, and asked them to call each others sir . Although the Coach s requests may have been annoying to the players, it was obvious that, in the long run, Ken really only wanted the best for them. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Henrietta persisted a mother of five children and after she gave birth to her fifth children, she occurred to be diagnosed with cervical cancer. The doctors stole her cells without her permission. From there on evolution of laws have been concerning tissue search. One of the issues comes to pass if people should be given the legal ownership of their tissues. In my opinion, I feel like everybody should be given the legal right of their tissues. In 1951, 2009, and 1999 many laws were different than now. One law that was different was if doctors took cells without permission it was totally fine and the government didn t care. For example, one quote that the text lists is, When I tell people the story of Henrietta Lacks and her cells, their first question is usually Wasn t it illegal for doctors to take Henrietta s cells without her knowledge? Don t doctors have to tell you when they use your cells in research? The answer is no not in 1951 and not in 2009... What this piece of evidence is trying to say is that the doctors back then didn t really care about if what they were doing was right or wrong and if the patient s approved of what they did to their cells. Another piece of textual evidence is, When you go to the doctor for a routine blood test or to have a molecule removed, when you have an appendectomy, tonsillectomy, or any other kind of ectomy, the stuff you leave behind ... Stepping Into The Dance Studio Stepping into the dance studio for my first ballet class, mirrored walls and a long bar, I immediately immersed myself into becoming the ballerina from my fairytale books. After that first year I laced up my shiny black tap shoes for my first tap class, a new love was born. That love was replaced only when I learned to clog. All three styles of dance have unique characteristics but all three have much in common. Dance has certain qualities such as poise, grace, and balance. The first years of dance are basic and fundamental moves but these evolve over time and with hours of practicing. I also learned responsibility, time management, determination, and a good work ethic. Whether it was landing a specific move in ballet or nailing a double time step in clogging, there is always something to take from each style of dance. Ballet is the core, the foundation, of all of these styles of dance, the balance and strength learned in ballet are used in tap and clogging as well. Ballet was the first style of dance that I learned. As soon as I was old enough to take at Alicia s School of Performing Arts in Benson, North Carolina my mom quickly signed me up for ballet. I did ballet for fourteen years, up until I graduated high school. Over those years I had three different instructors, all who had their own style of teaching, helping me become a better ballerina. Most commonly, the fetal tissue cells would be used to treat neurodegenerative diseases such as Parkinson s, Huntington s disease, and Alzheimer s disease. More recent breakthroughs show possibilities of the use of fetal tissues for diabetes and an assortment of blood and immune disorders. (Bachoud, 2000) Fetal tissues divide more rapidly than matured tissues, making them better candidates for the experimental medical therapy. (Fackleman,1995) In addition, by using fetal tissues in the transplant, the possibility of the host rejecting the transplant is significantly lower than that of the use of matured tissues. (McCloskey) The objective behind the transplant is to restore the lost functions in a person ridden with a neurodegenerative and otherwise incurable disease. (Bensoussan, 2002) There are billions of nerve cells in a human brain. Neurodegenerative diseases, like Parkinson s and Huntington s disease cause the selective loss of approximately 500,000 cells in the brain which once performed critical functions. (Bachoud Levi, 2000) The loss of these cells results in result in devastating, oftentimes fatal symptoms. The course of these disease is often gradual and occurs over many years, producing an overall deterioration of motor skills and brain function. DeLong PSCI 5324: Executive Branch Analytical Essay #2 Dr. Faulkner August 3, 2016 The successes, or lack of success, of an American president is tied to the effectiveness of their presidential leadership. President Harry Truman served the American people as president from 1945 to 1953; he became president suddenly after the death of Franklin D. Roosevelt amidst the end of World War II. Truman s presidency would carry into the aftermath of World War II and see the beginning of the Cold War. A tenacious man, he led the country from isolation into the beginning of modern American foreign policy. Ferrell argued that Truman may be second only to Abraham Lincoln as one of the greatest presidents. Winston Churchill said of President Truman, You, more than any other man, have saved Western civilization. Harry Truman s presidential leadership style proved to be effective and places him among the top American presidents. Presidential leadership is more than just charisma, a president s personal qualities, particularly his energy and competence, make all the difference. • 32. Hydraulic Fracture Case Study In grid based models, the fracture is propagated through a fixed grid. This idea was used in early 2D hydraulic fracture simulators (Settari 1980) where when the stress normal to the fracture plane exceeded the tensile strength, the fracture extended into a new grid cell. Therefore, grid based models were suitable for coupling with reservoir simulators and geomechanics codes (Ji, Settari, and Sullivan 2009). 3D grid based models were extended to deal with multiple fractures, for example, the MultiFrac Placement Pseudo 3D (MLF P3D) model (Dontsov and Peirce 2015). (2010), considers the effect of natural fractures, stress distribution, and influence of the mechanical properties of fracture morphology (Cipolla et al. 2010). The UFM model can simulate the propagation of asymmetric fracture networks accounting for fluid flow in the fracture network and elastic deformation of the fractures. The initial assumptions and governing equations (fluid flow in the fracture network, mass conservation and fracture deformation) are similar to the conventional P3D model (Weng 2015). Passey et al. (2010) claimed that there is a large variability in lithology between shale plays and even within a single shale formation (Passey et al. 2010). Britt and Smith (2009) emphasized the importance of geomechanics and the state of stress of a shale play for a successful hydraulic fracturing stimulation (Britt and Smith 2009). In addition, Rickman et al. (2008) stressed that the mechanical rock properties, such as brittleness and mineralogy, are fundamental in completion designs. While ductile shale tend to restore any fracture formed, brittle shale often have natural fractures which react to hydraulic fracturing (Rickman et al. 2008). The hypothesis of this experiment aimed to test whether the enzyme in question, N acetyl β D Hexosaminidase, has an overall negative charge and will elute from the DEAE column in the first protein peak. The experiment was done in two parts. The absorbance values obtained from conducting the Lowry protein assay were used to extrapolate the total amount of protein and calculate the concentration of the protein. The total amount of protein in the sample was 120µg and the concentration of the protein was 24.0 µg/µl, which was within the allowed range of error. An enzyme assay with paranitrophenol was conducted to determine the specific activity of the enzyme. The specific activity of the isozyme HEX B was calculated to be 0.00009 units/mg and the specific activity of the isozyme HEX A was 0.00004 units/mg. At the conclusion of this experiment, the data obtained from the ion exchange chromatography indicated that the unknown protein sample contained two isozymes of the enzyme N acetyl β D Hexosaminidase. It was observed that isozyme HEX A had an overall negative charge and therefore eluted last from the DEAE column, whereas HEX B had an overall positive charge and did not bind to the column, hence eluted first. San Francisco s had an exceptional nightmare from a transit point of view. The obvious problem was San Francisco geographic makeup. Early cable cars were pulled by horses on rails. In the 1890s, electric street cars took over horse car services (Hartlaub, 2015). In the 19th century, railroads encouraged economic progress in California. Transportation costs were reduced, which allowed remote lands and resources to be attainable.
