Schema of The Process of Studies
Results:
Figure 1 shows the schema of the process of choosing the studies that were included in the review.
The primary Pubmed search recognized 55 articles.
We excluded six studies that were about gestational hypertension; eight that defined awareness as
knowledge of the effects of hypertension rather than awareness of hypertensive status ; fifteen review
papers and guidelines and five studies did not met the criteria.
Ultimately 21 studies were included in the systemaic review of the awareness, treatment and control
of hypertension in Egypt. Figure (2) shows governorates in Egypt represented in the included studies.
Of the 21 included studies, 13 were cross sectional, 3 case control studies, 3 systematic reviews and 2
hospital based observational studies.
Table (3) summarizes cross sectional included studies showing their findings and results.
The sample size ranged from 27 subjects to 12008 subjects, and the age range from 6 95 years. All the
studies had both genders (male and female) represented. In most of the studies, the women were more
than the men in number of particepants.
From these studies, results about prevalence and knowledge of physicians were clear as following:
Hypertension prevalence increased ever more with age, with the exception of the oldest age group
(ā‰„75 years). In the youngest age group, hypertension was present in 7.8% of the population. The
prevalence rate was 59.4% in the 65 74 age group[1].

Cultural Values And The Dominant Culture
When looking to understand one s culture in comparison to the dominant culture it is important to take
into consideration a variety of cultural values. In comparing myself to the dominant culture in the
United States I have found both similarities as well as differences between my worldviews and the
majority worldview. In order to fully assess how I have come to acquire my worldviews it is important
to look into contextual and circumstantial factors that have shaped me as an individual.
American culture values individualism where putting yourself first is seen as the norm. In comparison,
Hispanic cultures value the family, or a group dynamic, rather than each person as an individual entity
(Kirst Ashman, 2013, p. 457). I am close with my family and value the family dynamic we have as a
group; however, I believe that I must first take care of myself in order to be able to help out others. In
addition, competition is valued by dominant American culture. In America winning is everything
(Scott, 2015). Although I value individualism, I am the least competitive person I know. I believe that
this stems from placing value on myself for myself (and well being) rather than for others or in
comparison to others. When focusing on the individual it is easy to place high importance upon one s
status within society. American culture places high value upon credentials, titles, roles, and material
possessions that create each person s power status. It would be absurd for me to say that my

Beat Countercultural Movement Essay
To say that the Beat generation has affected modern culture seems at first to be no great revelation; it
is inevitable that any period of history will affect the time that follows. The Beat generation is
especially significant, though, because of its long lasting impact on American culture. Many aspects of
modern American culture can be directly attributed to the Beat writers, primarily Allen Ginsburg,
William Burroughs, Neal Cassady, and Jack Kerouac. (Asher) Their influence has changed the
American perception of obscenity, has had profound effects on American music and literature, and has
modified the public s views on such topics as sex and drug use. The label Beat Generation was first
publicized in a 1952 New York Times Magazine ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Many lines in Howl would have been considered obscene by the standards of his time, especially, who
let themselves be fucked in the ass by saintly motorcyclists, and screamed with joy. (Howl) Prior to
1957, obscenity was legally defined as anything that has a substantial tendency to deprave or corrupt
its readers by inciting lascivious thoughts or arousing lustful desires. (Obscenity) Since much of Howl
is concerned with illicit drug use and sexual deviancy, it clearly meets these requirements. Now,
however, no second thought is given to works such as Howl. Our culture has changed so drastically
that not only has what was once considered obscene become accepted, but it has been raised to the
status of literature. The Beatniks, as they eventually came to be known, also had a strong influence on
music and literature. The artists of the then emerging musical style of rock and roll, such figures as the
Beatles and Bob Dylan, were affected by the movement. In fact, Beatles was spelled with an a because
of Kerouac s influence on John Lennon. Paul McCartney played guitar for one of Ginsberg s albums.
Bob Dylan toured with Ginsberg, and considered Ginsberg and Kerouac both to be major influences.

Reducing Medication Errors In Nursing
Reducing Medication Errors In Hospitals
Patient centered care and patient safety are the most important roles in nursing. Serious medication
errors are common in hospitals and often occur during order transcription or administration of
medication (Poon et al., 2010. p. 1). One important aspect of nursing is drug administration. It is a
multidisciplinary task including doctors, pharmacist and nurses. This paper will show evidence that
using electronic medication systems instead of paper based systems to administer medication will
reduce medication errors.
Change Model Overview The John Hopkins Nursing Evidence Based Practice change model used in
this paper is, Practice, the basic component of all nursing activity, reflects the translation of what
nurses know into that they do (Dearholt, S. Dang, D., 2012. p. 34). This model has steps to incorporate
evidence base research into the practice of nursing combined with their education and clinical skills.

technology has been developed to verify medications by incorporating bar code verification

Website Analysis Essay
Website Analysis
Sometimes it seems like the computer game industry is dying, crushed to death by its own bulk. Every
year more and more gaming companies get gobbled up into huge conglomerates like Electronic Arts,
companies that mostly put out trash that is technically and visually impressive, but devoid of concept
and content. However, there are some small gaming companies that buck the trend. While mostly just
small groups of programmers and artists, some are huge unions of fans who, irritated with the
dropping quality of computer games, have decided to use the power of the internet to get together and
to produce games tailor made to their personal preferences.

The first level removed from EA Games is the small gaming company. Moonpod Games (
http://www.moonpod.com/), a company made up of a small but skilled group of game makers who
previously worked under different companies making other games (some well known, some more
obscure), is a good representative of this kind of game producer.
Just because Moonpod is a small business doesn t mean it doesn t know its web design. The site is
very well done and much more informative than even the EA site it has to be, since the company
doesn t have the money to make separate sites every time it comes up with a new game.
The organization of the website itself is fairly basic. A centrally located news column makes
announcements about new features, patches, or game releases. A navigation bar on the left hand side
allows easy access to the different parts of the website, and beautiful, eye catching screenshots on the
right take one to a synopsis of the games from which they come (although the buttons on the left do
that as well). The contents of the center and right hand portions change when one accesses a part of
the site specific to one of the games, changing to a synopsis of and system requirements for the game
in the center, and screenshots and related links on the right. All in all, it is a simple but effective
design.
Without the funds available to a company like EA Games, Moonpod can t use its site simply to
advertise its products. It must

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Autoinjectors
1. Introduction
Mass casualty situations are common with most of the natural disasters like earth quake, tsunami,
flood, avalanche, explosion, accidents, building collapse, military operations and terrorism. Injuries
and wound infections are very common in such disasters that need immediate management; otherwise
it may lead to morbidity and mortality. Medical management is very difficult at that situation as the
access to hospital sector would be either not possible or difficult. Autoinjectors are very much useful
in emergency situations as it can make self administration possible. It can be used to deliver drug
either by intramuscular or subcutaneous injection. Autoinjector has got many advantages. It delivers
the drug fast and gives better bioavailability as it deliver the drug with a spray effect during
administration. It is convenient and since the needle is inside the vial itself, the needle phobia can be
avoided.
1.1 Natural disasters and infections

Sometimes I am very puzzled how we successfully invaded the country and changed their government

One of Iraq s main topographical features known are the Euphrates River and the Tigris River that

Northeast Iraq consists of mountainous terrain while the country in the west is arid desert. The soil

Art Analysis Of Laughing Rembrandt
Laughing Rembrandt on the canvas is a young person with huge jaw and shaved face. With the lined
up upper teeth which are in sequent, he is in a cheerful position. Face lines limits the above area of
month and crossing the edge of the noise, apprehends more than the physiological material world. The
eyes are staring out like sensing the three dimensional living. Each one is directing to a different
perspective As his head tilts, long sloppy hair is dancing in the air and the oscillation of the curved
lines are stunning. It feels like the whole body is vibrating and the ups and downs of the laughter is
painted with brush. Anti shock rigid vest which is glossier represents the high energy period of time
during twenties. Lively brushwork on copper makes the artwork wonderfully luminous. 2. Analysis of
Form:
Thinner brush is used for sketching curve lines blending together which resonance with not stable
emotional state during early adulthood. The focal point is his lips as they are painted in a warmer
color. In addition to lips, the forehead and hair style are emphasized. Rembrandt deliberately has
illustrated the lower value using shades. Regarding to the shining spot on his right upper corner of
forehead, the color theme is a mixture of brown to grayer, using orange as a monochromatic color, is
shadowed with respect to the light source. As an impressionist artist, he painted warm analogous color

Creating False Memory, By Elizabeth Loftus
False memory refers to a phenomenon that makes an individual believe that they remember events in
their lives but in real sense, these events have never occurred. In most cases, these events are
traumatic, and relate to sexual abuse. False memory syndrome was postulated in 1992 in an attempt to
explain the theory of adult childhood memory. Adults who remember sexual abuse events when they
were young may be creating an occurrence that never happened or information that is not correct.
Synopsis
Nadean Cool attended therapeutic sessions with the hope of modifying her reaction to the shocking
events of her daughter. The therapist misguided her. The therapist convinced her that her current
response was a result of past involvement with a satanic ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Loftus argues that people can be shaped to remember their past in different ways. She used a study
about getting lost in a Mall to show that individuals can be prompted to recollect the whole events that
occurred to them (Loftus 74). Imagination can also create a false memory of an occurrence that never
happened. Loftus and her colleagues requested the participant to record on a scale the possibility of
the forty events named occurred in their childhood. After two weeks, they were allowed to imagine
some of the occurrences they had said never happened in their childhood. They were asked to rate the
events again. Individuals, who participated in the imagining test, became convinced that the incident
happened (Loftus 75).
In summary, the discussion about the false memory syndrome is far from being complete. False
memory syndrome makes it difficult to judge the viability of an event and is very hard to banish from
ones memory. A small false creation embeds in the mind for a very long time. Once an individual
creates a false memory, it becomes part and parcel of his or her life. Therapeutic sessions should be
taken with care so as to reduce false memory implanted to reduce

Canadian Multiculturalism Act And The Canadian Charter Of...
Introduction
Multiculturalism has always been perceived as one of the integral components of Canadian Culture .
Under the Canadian Multiculturalism Act, Canadian citizens are free to exercise their religious and
cultural practices . However, niqab ban takes effect in some public aspects of Canada . Supporters of
the ban believes that wearing niqab is not a part of the Canadian Culture and should be banned in
order to free Muslim Women from oppression . Niqab ban, however, infringes on the religious and
cultural freedom instilled in the Canadian Multiculturalism Act and the Canadian Charter of Rights
and Freedom and is unlawful . A careful examination on Canadian culture and laws, the origins and
arguments of the ban, and its implications is needed in order to further understand the issue.
The Canadian Culture
Canada has never acknowledged itself as a homogeneous nation but rather rooted in diversity . The
government assume a neutral role in regards to religion and accommodation, keeping in mind the goal
of integration based on differences . Immigrants are placed in a different situation where they are
expected to adopt and assimilate elements of the Canadian culture and at the same time still try to
keep their own cultural identity . Canada is known for encouraging diversity and has a positive
perspective on minority group s traditional practices . The Multiculturalism Act is supposed to give
the same and fair recognition and accommodation for non dominant groups .

Bulimia nervosa is an eating disorder distinguished by its psychological, physiological,
developmental, and social components. The disorder is characterized by binge eating shortly followed
by harmful compensatory behaviors, such as abuse of laxatives, diuretics or enemas, stimulants,
vomiting, fasting, or excessive exercise. This is known as the Binge Purge Cycle . Unlike anorexia
nervosa, those with bulimia nervosa fall within a normal or slightly overweight weight range and
usually perform their eating disordered behaviors in secret due to the severe feelings of shame and
disgust which accompany the binge purge cycle. Due to the intensity of the combined mental and
physical assault bulimia has on the body, complications of bulimia can stay with a patient long after
recovery is achieved. Such complications include, but are not limited to: Decaying tooth enamel (tooth

instinctively attract interested international buyers for purchase.
Even more interesting, according to the NAR report are the four states influencing this buying trend of
international real estate buyers. It s no surprise the coasts are among the leaders for the sale of
properties. Florida and California are the frontrunners with Texas in hot pursuit. The one state standing
out for its distinction of no coastline, but attractive for real estate buying is Arizona known for its
trendy living. The state boasts its diverse community split between a younger workforce prepared for
first time home purchases or upgraders with growing families. Retirees in Arizona are looking to take
advantage of both milieus downsizing for less maintenance and upgrading with more luxury not

So what s the future look like for the U.S. real estate market as the world continues to buy in, while
our own residents are buying up? Competition has definitely increased for the sale on high end
properties as a result of international buyers. Economists are concerned with the market volatility as a
result of these home purchases causing real estate prices to soar within selective neighborhoods. The
concern is affordability for the next generation of U.S. home buyers creating an exclusive gate into

The Movie Of The Conjuring
In the movie of The Conjuring, in certain instances it foreshadows a witch which is considered as a
dark presence. This movie poster is effective in introducing or raising awareness of the way is being
presented by telling the readers that this film is based on a true story and by showing readers that it
will have a mysterious person in search. In the movie, there is a new family of seven, five daughters
and their pet dog that moves into an unfrequented farmhouse which took place in the 70s. Strange
things have been happening to the house as well with the family, they call investigators to look at the
house to find out why weird things have been happening. The reason for the dark presence,
appearance in the house is because someone had hung themselves at the house so unfortunately the
house is haunted without the new family members being aware of it. The poster for the movie The

placement of the shadow, the color scheme, composition and spatial order. To begin, the writer of The
Conjuring implies that this film is based on a true story. It being based on something truth that actually

extraordinary because the stakes appear to be so high. (Kaufman pg. 3). Although there appears to be
strong evidence suggesting the importance of foreign policy, that is not reflected in American culture.
As noted above, this is strongly related to the perceived value of the issues. In today s world we have
more access to information than we have ever had in the history of the world. One would think this
would lead to a more informed and educated public. While this could be the case in some areas of
study, it is not the case in foreign policy. Mead addresses some of Americans views and the role they
play throughout history. He makes several strong and persuasive declarations about American foreign
policy stating one of the most remarkable features of contemporary U.S. foreign policy is the
ignorance of and contempt for the country s own foreign policy he goes on to add lack of interest is

In Henrik Ibsenā€™S A ā€œA Dollā€™S Houseā€,The Name Is Pervasive
In Henrik Ibsen s AA Doll s House ,the name is pervasive throughout the entire play. The reader is
given the perspective of viewing a doll s house. Nora Helmer lives the life of a doll, vapid and
uncaring actions dictate by the whims of those around her; using her like a doll. Nearly every
character in the play acts the part of a doll, conforming to societal norms and bending to the will of
those around them. It serves to show how society in the time frame often compelled people to use one
another as dolls in eachothers own personal dollhouses.
Until she changes, Nora is quite whimsical and rather childlike. Her first acts on stage involve paying

An important aspect of her dream world is the lack of her recognizing cause and effect. Nora s
lackluster approach is prominent in many places through the story. An example of such being her
disregard towards others, for example when she blames Mrs. Linden for her macaroons. Though she is
just trying to hide the misdemeanor she cares not for who she hurts along the way. Another example of
her dream world is her acquiring of material possessions. Nora constantly attempts to fulfill herself by
buying things: candy, dresses, toys etc., rather than accomplishing anything of meaning . She has
never used her time to be with her husband in their near decade long marriage. She constantly dumps
her children on a nurse instead of bonding with them herself. Although this may have been common
practice at the time, it serves to express her lack of care.
In this dream world, Nora rides back seat in her own life. She becomes but an object. She reacts to
other s expectations instead of working for herself. In consequence to her passive nature, Torvald is
incredibly possessive of Nora, often adding the word my to his pet names. Once, Torvald refers to her
as his dearest property ; Mrs. Linden states that she will save Nora at any price , as though Nora was
able to be sold and bought. Despite her infatuation with acquiring things, Nora is but a possession
herself.
Whenever Torvald enters the stage she took on a

Synovus Servant Leadership
Synovus Financial Corporation is known for taking care of their people, both employees and
customers, an idea that began with the company s original leadership and has been passed down for
generations. The culture of Synovus and doing the right thing extends into every aspect, both inward
and outward, of the organization and everyone they come into contact with, making everyone aware
that they are performing meaningful work and working for a higher purpose (Hess Cameron, 2006.)
These values, modeled throughout the organization are said to be contagious, as employees are valued
for themselves and not the values they bring in (Hess Cameron, 2006.) Organizations that are built and
operate with a sense of purpose, truly motivating their employees (Birkinshaw, Foss, Lindenberg,
2014.) Purpose, in itself transcends making money, and allows people to come together and to do
something that they believe in, and to take a broader view and influence their efforts towards common

2014.) This style of servant leadership emphasizes a holistic approach to work and community, while
sharing decision making powers with others (Schwantes, 2015.) These examples of servant leadership
elevate both leaders and followers morally and ethically (Sendjaya, Sarros, Santora, 2008.) When
leadership takes this approach, many decisions become more obvious, and to an extent easier to make.
While leadership sets these goals or standards that may seem unreasonable to others, once they are
established, they become not just the standard way of operating, but for many the standard way of
living. These servant leaders also demonstrate that they put their followers first, organizations second,
and themselves last in their careers (Sendjaya et al.

Cognitive Dissonance Theory
Leon Festinger created the cognitive dissonance theory as an attempt to explain why people desire to
have consistency between their behaviors and actions. Cognitive dissonance is the distressing mental
state people feel when they find themselves doing things that don t fit with what they know, or having
opinions that do not fit with other opinions they hold (Festinger, 1957; as cited in Griffin, 2009). Thus,
people are motivated to change either their behavior or their belief when feelings of dissonance arise.
Dissonance is reduced using three mental strategies. Selective exposure is the strategy used before a
decision is made. The premise of this strategy is to avoid information that is likely to increase
dissonance. The second ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The difference between condition one and three is that condition three allowed the participants to self
affirm after finding out their verdict was in disagreement with the other group members. Festinger
argues that the lack of choice adds consonant cognitions which reduce the overall amount of
dissonance that otherwise would be experienced (Festinger, 1957, 1958; as cited in Matz Woods,
2005). Additionally, the opportunity to self affirm strengthens self worth and thereby reduces the
dissonance created when people s actions threaten their personal integrity (Simon, Greenberg, Brehm,
1995; as cited in Matz Woods, 2005). Thus, Matz and Woods hypothesize that dissonance will be
reduced by the lack of choice and the opportunity to self affirm. The results show low levels of
discomfort in the lack of choice and self affirmation conditions, providing an explanation of the kinds
of strategies people use to reduce dissonance. Study three introduces an interpersonal strategy
introduced by Festinger: changing one s own attitude to align with others opinions (Festinger, 1957; as
cited in Matz Woods, 2005). Building off of Festinger s idea of changing one s attitude three
conditions are used in this study. The three strategies used are: (a) changing one s own attitudes to
agree with others in the group, (b) influencing others to change their opinion, and (c) joining a
different, attitudinally congenial group. The end results show

The Importance Of Student Behaviors And The Classroom...
Educators have the opportunity to make a great impact on students, however with this opportunity
comes many challenges in terms of students behaviours and the classroom environment. The DECD
(Department for Education and Child Development) states that children and students with a disability
or special needs must be given the same opportunities for education as other children and students. It
is therefore important, that educators understand the reasons behind students behaviours, both positive
and negative, to be able to create a positive, safe and rigorous learning environment (Efratiā€Virtzer
Margalit, 2009). According to Beaman, Wheldall Kemp (2007), the majority of students with
emotional and behavioural difficulties are taught in mainstream classrooms highlighting the
significance of effective classroom behaviour management. Whilst a significant minority of a class
may present with challenging or disruptive behaviours, it still impacts teachers ability to create an
effective learning environment (Beaman, Wheldall Kemp, 2007). According to a recent report by the
South Australian parliament, teachers have a lack of knowledge regarding challenging student
behaviours (Parliament of South Australia, 2010). Teachers also have a greater lack of knowledge
regarding students who also have a disability (e.g. ADHD or Autism) which often leads to these
children becoming withdrawn, disengaged, socially isolated from their peers or they do not participate
in class (Parliament

Urban change has affected many countries especially Rio de Janeiro. Rio de Janeiro is one of the
world s megacities with a population over 18 million and because it s a megacity it is a large attraction
to many people that look to live in a big city.
This is causing expansion on a huge scale on the city, called urban growth. People move because of

Amy Winehouse Eating Disorder
Back to Black. This term, made popular by Amy Winehouse, refers to one going back to what is
familiar but not necessarily good for them. In Amy s case, her safe haven was cocaine after her
boyfriend introduced the drug to her and repeatedly left her for his former girlfriend. In the 2016
Academy Award winning documentary, Amy (2016), Director Asif Kapadia uses footage of Amy
Winehouse s life and career to argue the adversities and the downfall that addiction ultimately leads to.

For example, one of the greatest factors that should have been changed was Amy s drug and alcohol
addictions, as well as her eating disorder. Without the dependence that she had on these substances
and her bulimia, Winehouse could quite possibly still be alive and be performing today. Another
aspect that could be critiqued is her relationship with Blake Fielder Civil. Amy was quite obviously
obsessed and in love with Blake. However, he was the one that introduced her to crack cocaine and
heroin, factors contributing to her weak health. In addition, he constantly contradicted Amy s attempts
to rehabilitate, leading her on a downhill path. Yet, if Amy Winehouse was to never have met Blake
Fielder Civil, her music would, without a doubt, have been changed dramatically, as a vast majority of
her lyrics were about or associated with

Critical Analysis Of The Man He Killed
In this poem, The Man He Killed , the poet Thomas Hardy explores a complex theme, which is war,
using the simplest language. Throughout this essay I will be discussing the thoughts and opinions
Hardy has on war.
The Man He Killed was written in the nineteenth century during the Boer War that took place in South
Africa in 1898. This war was because the British Empire wanted to take control over the land because
of its rich gold and diamonds. The poem is written in a conversational tone, with speech marks,
making us feel that the soldier is talking directly to us reminiscing about killing a foe whilst at war.
The speaker in this poem is a man of low class who was unemployed and had already sold all his
possessions and consequently had no choice but to join the army; this can be seen when the man states
just as I was out of work had sold his traps . Hardy is showing us that some people join the army just
out of desperation not because they believe in the political side of war. These unemployed, low classed
people have no other way of earning the money to help them survive so they turn to the only other
option the have joining the army. The speaker is forced to kill another man which he claims was his
foe and later on realises that he and the man had a lot in common.
During this poem the man is forced to kill another man and the repetition of because implies hesitation
and uncertainty about why he shot the man. He tries to reassure himself by saying just so: my

The Dawn Of Retinal Prosthetic Devices
The Dawn of Retinal Prosthetic Devices
The war against human blindness has been ongoing affair since the beginning of time. Because the
origin of blindness varies from case to case, there is no single remedy and limited solutions are
available to the visually impaired. However, recent technological breakthroughs have allowed
scientists and doctors to test out possible solutions to a particular niche in the blindness spectrum:
degenerative retinal diseases. Degenerative retinal diseases such as Retinitis Pigmentosa (RP) attack
the retina exclusively. Because of that exclusivity, the other structures in the eye are typically not
compromised. Therefore, the use of a retinal implant or prosthetic device to restore functional vision is
possible. While it is important to note that retinal implants are still a pioneering technology, clinical
trials such as the Argus II clinical trial, and eye health care professionals alike are reporting promising
results. As such, it seems likely that retinal prosthetic devices will be a game changer in the future
treatment of degenerative retinal diseases since the devices can restore a form of vision to an
otherwise blind patient.

The Benefits Of Organic Food And Organic Foods
As consumers, we see the label organic in most supermarkets that we shop at every day, but do we
know what makes certain food items obtain the label organic? There is much controversy on the topic
organic foods and for good reason. There are many factors to take into account when decided if
organic food is superior to conventionally grown foods. There are key components that all amount to
how nutritious your food is. It all comes down to the quality of the land that the food is grown on, the
farming technique, the elimination of toxic chemicals, and the increase in certain beneficial vitamins.
The only downside to being pro organic food is the slightly increased price tag. Despite the increased
cost, organic foods are a healthier choice compared to conventional chemical ridden foods.
In the United States, organic food has become so popular people don t have to grow their own food or
even find a farmers market to be able to obtain organic food. You can typically find it in supermarkets
everywhere. Organic farming has been around for quite some time; it first became popular during the
1940s. Throughout the decades, people gained more knowledge on the benefits of farming and eating
organic. George Kuepper, a sustainable agriculture specialist, notes, . . . while one can t say that the 60
s counterculture invented organic farming, it is fair to say that it created the organic industry (9).

The Road Not Taken
Many writers use symbolism to help reveal things or say something important about life in a special
way In the poem, The Road Not Taken by Robert Frost, the author uses a variety of phrases that
contains symbolism. All of this symbolism also leads up to a very common theme that we must
usually several times in our lives. First of all, this poem uses a lot of symbolism to reveal many things
that also applies to us in our lives. To begin with, Robert Frost describes two (2) similar roads. One
thing he says to support his is, both that morning equally lay/ (/=new line) in leaves no step had
trodden black. This symbolizes the fact that in our lives, sometimes, we have to make difficult
decisions to things that seem to be quite alternatively related, and/or very similar. ... Show more

Though, at first, he tries to make himself feel comfortable being able to take both roads by saying Oh,
I kept the first for another day. However, he soon realizes that he will not be able to take both ways
since he says, Yet knowing how way leads to way. This line symbolizes the fact that if we take one
path, it will lead to many other different things, and it would be very difficult to go back to the
beginning. For example, if one chooses to specialize in learning science, this will lead up to getting a
career that is based upon science. And, at the end, if he would not want that career, it would become
difficult in getting a career in a totally different subject area like trying to become a English Language
Arts Teacher for middle schoolers. This goes on to his idea of symbolizing this by saying I doubted I

The Nike Essay
The Nike
A Greek would say, When we go to battle and win, we say it is Nike. According to Greek Mythology,
The Nike was the winged goddess of victory. Daughter of the titan Pallas and the river Styx, Nike sat
at the side of the omnipotent Zeus for the duration of his plight with the titans. The goddess Nike
came to be an everlasting symbol of victory and dominance on the battlefields of ancient Greece. In
light of her conquests, a popular footwear company of the 20th century designed products in her name
to push new levels of achievement in athletes worldwide. The Swoosh logo at the side of each shoe is
intended to represent the wing of the Greek Goddess Nike. The vibrant spirit of this ancient goddess
has bridged the gap between ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The first shoe with the Nike Swoosh was introduced in 1972, and with it an ancient flame was
rekindled. This started what would become the most popular and well known brand name in the
history of the shoe industry, and did justice to the ancient goddess of victory for which it stands.
The association with this Greek goddess went much deeper. The Greeks inspired athleticism and
personal prowess by shifting political confrontation to physical competition. The Greeks gathered an
assembly of top athletes around the world, in a competition we now know as the Olympic games.
During the Greek times, athletes gathered on sacred land, namely the Sanctuary of Zeus and Hera near
Olympia, Greece, to celebrate and pay homage to their supreme god. To attain victory in these games
was a matter of great prestige. The Swoosh was designed to not only embody the wing of Nike and
symbolize personal victory, but also to celebrate the spirit and inspiration of the entire Greek
civilization and its competitive heritage.
A low relief carving made in 410 407 BC, Nike Adjusting Her Sandal, was taken from a fragment of
the parapet in the Temple of Athena Nike. As the goddess extends forward, her chiton slips from her
body, and wings balance her stance. The covering lacks the pronunciation found in The Nike of
Samothorace, as it drapes over her figure smoothly rather than extending texture. A direct reference to
footwear and the importance of footwear can be extrapolated

The Comparison Of Godot, By James Beckett
There is a vast literature on interpretations of Godot, encompassing Christian and anti Christian
religion, Freudian and Jungian psychology, and a kitchen sinkful of esoteric and obscure isms. The
undeniable fact is that no one really knows what Godot is about, and the playwright himself clearly
believed that the core of his art lay in the ambiguities resulting from the absence of information,
saying that everything he knew about the characters was in the text and if he knew anything more
about the characters then he would have put it in the text. That Godot is more hole than doughnut has
made it an easy target of parody if not outright ridicule. Beckett evolved his unique literary voice by
distinguishing his style from that of his mentor James Joyce, whom he assisted during the writing of
Finnegans Wake. In almost exactly the opposite way, Joyce grounded his art in fanatically
perfectionist control of his work, leaving no missing pieces or rough edges in stuffing his characters
full to overflowing so that we the readers know more about them than they could possibly know about
themselves.
By far the best biography of Beckett, in my opinion, is by James Knowlson of the University of
Reading, whose 20 year friendship with the playwright led to the donation of notebooks, manuscripts
and other archival material that became the world s leading Beckett archive. Knowlson s title taken
from a passage in Beckett s notebooks is Damned to Fame, neatly encapsulating the

A Research Study On Celeste Kidd s The Marshmallow Challenge
Many psychologists have studied and used Mischel s experiment and examples in their own works. In
a recent study, Celeste Kidd conducted one such experiment; in The Marshmallow Challenge Kidd
had twenty eight children take part in an exercise involving art. She gave the children two different
choices throughout the project. The first choice she gave them was to use old worn down crayons now
or wait for a new box of crayons. The second was one small sticker now or wait for a better set of
stickers. She divided the children into different groups. One of the groups was the reliable group
which was the children that waited patiently, and the other group was the unreliable group which was
the children who couldn t wait for the new supplies. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the researcher s opinion, this could be as much about the long term effects of having an unreliable
world view as it is about a lack of self control (Kidd 871). So it is obviously extremely important for
children to be raised in a trustworthy, dependable environment in order to learn self control and to be
able to use their willpower to self regulate.
In December 2011 Suleyman Avci conducted a study on 508 first grade students to learn the
relationship between self regulation and the delay of gratification in doing well in academics. Most
people are aware the more time they put into something the better the results will turn out and the
bigger the reward will be. This theory applies to almost anything including academics. The more one
studies the better they will do on a test however, not all students understand this, which explains why
some students are more stressed than others. In order to perform well in school students need to set
goals for the future and not get distracted by things in the present, like watching television or playing
video games, instead of studying for a test. I am completely aware of this; nevertheless, it is still hard
to do because my hot system wants the instant gratification of doing something fun rather than
homework. Future success is hindered by the need for instant gratification. Students who achieve
higher levels of academic success are those who realize academic rewards are more important than
temporary satisfaction. Those

  • 2. Schema of The Process of Studies Results: Figure 1 shows the schema of the process of choosing the studies that were included in the review. The primary Pubmed search recognized 55 articles. We excluded six studies that were about gestational hypertension; eight that defined awareness as knowledge of the effects of hypertension rather than awareness of hypertensive status ; fifteen review papers and guidelines and five studies did not met the criteria. Ultimately 21 studies were included in the systemaic review of the awareness, treatment and control of hypertension in Egypt. Figure (2) shows governorates in Egypt represented in the included studies. Of the 21 included studies, 13 were cross sectional, 3 case control studies, 3 systematic reviews and 2 hospital based observational studies. Table (3) summarizes cross sectional included studies showing their findings and results. The sample size ranged from 27 subjects to 12008 subjects, and the age range from 6 95 years. All the studies had both genders (male and female) represented. In most of the studies, the women were more than the men in number of particepants. From these studies, results about prevalence and knowledge of physicians were clear as following: Hypertension prevalence increased ever more with age, with the exception of the oldest age group (ā‰„75 years). In the youngest age group, hypertension was present in 7.8% of the population. The prevalence rate was 59.4% in the 65 74 age group[1]. The weighted national prevalence estimates ... • 3. Cultural Values And The Dominant Culture When looking to understand one s culture in comparison to the dominant culture it is important to take into consideration a variety of cultural values. In comparing myself to the dominant culture in the United States I have found both similarities as well as differences between my worldviews and the majority worldview. In order to fully assess how I have come to acquire my worldviews it is important to look into contextual and circumstantial factors that have shaped me as an individual. American culture values individualism where putting yourself first is seen as the norm. In comparison, Hispanic cultures value the family, or a group dynamic, rather than each person as an individual entity (Kirst Ashman, 2013, p. 457). I am close with my family and value the family dynamic we have as a group; however, I believe that I must first take care of myself in order to be able to help out others. In addition, competition is valued by dominant American culture. In America winning is everything (Scott, 2015). Although I value individualism, I am the least competitive person I know. I believe that this stems from placing value on myself for myself (and well being) rather than for others or in comparison to others. When focusing on the individual it is easy to place high importance upon one s status within society. American culture places high value upon credentials, titles, roles, and material possessions that create each person s power status. It would be absurd for me to say that my ... • 5. Beat Countercultural Movement Essay To say that the Beat generation has affected modern culture seems at first to be no great revelation; it is inevitable that any period of history will affect the time that follows. The Beat generation is especially significant, though, because of its long lasting impact on American culture. Many aspects of modern American culture can be directly attributed to the Beat writers, primarily Allen Ginsburg, William Burroughs, Neal Cassady, and Jack Kerouac. (Asher) Their influence has changed the American perception of obscenity, has had profound effects on American music and literature, and has modified the public s views on such topics as sex and drug use. Many lines in Howl would have been considered obscene by the standards of his time, especially, who let themselves be fucked in the ass by saintly motorcyclists, and screamed with joy. (Howl) Prior to 1957, obscenity was legally defined as anything that has a substantial tendency to deprave or corrupt its readers by inciting lascivious thoughts or arousing lustful desires. (Obscenity) Since much of Howl is concerned with illicit drug use and sexual deviancy, it clearly meets these requirements. Now, however, no second thought is given to works such as Howl. Our culture has changed so drastically that not only has what was once considered obscene become accepted, but it has been raised to the status of literature. The Beatniks, as they eventually came to be known, also had a strong influence on music and literature. The artists of the then emerging musical style of rock and roll, such figures as the Beatles and Bob Dylan, were affected by the movement. In fact, Beatles was spelled with an a because of Kerouac s influence on John Lennon. Paul McCartney played guitar for one of Ginsberg s albums. Bob Dylan toured with Ginsberg, and considered Ginsberg and Kerouac both to be major influences. Many of the themes of rock and roll ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Every year more and more gaming companies get gobbled up into huge conglomerates like Electronic Arts, companies that mostly put out trash that is technically and visually impressive, but devoid of concept and content. However, there are some small gaming companies that buck the trend. Just because Moonpod is a small business doesn t mean it doesn t know its web design. The site is very well done and much more informative than even the EA site it has to be, since the company doesn t have the money to make separate sites every time it comes up with a new game. The organization of the website itself is fairly basic. A centrally located news column makes announcements about new features, patches, or game releases. A navigation bar on the left hand side allows easy access to the different parts of the website, and beautiful, eye catching screenshots on the right take one to a synopsis of the games from which they come (although the buttons on the left do that as well). The contents of the center and right hand portions change when one accesses a part of the site specific to one of the games, changing to a synopsis of and system requirements for the game in the center, and screenshots and related links on the right. All in all, it is a simple but effective design. Without the funds available to a company like EA Games, Moonpod can t use its site simply to advertise its products. It must ... • 15. Creating False Memory, By Elizabeth Loftus False memory refers to a phenomenon that makes an individual believe that they remember events in their lives but in real sense, these events have never occurred. In most cases, these events are traumatic, and relate to sexual abuse. False memory syndrome was postulated in 1992 in an attempt to explain the theory of adult childhood memory. Adults who remember sexual abuse events when they were young may be creating an occurrence that never happened or information that is not correct. Loftus argues that people can be shaped to remember their past in different ways. She used a study about getting lost in a Mall to show that individuals can be prompted to recollect the whole events that occurred to them (Loftus 74). Imagination can also create a false memory of an occurrence that never happened. Loftus and her colleagues requested the participant to record on a scale the possibility of the forty events named occurred in their childhood. After two weeks, they were allowed to imagine some of the occurrences they had said never happened in their childhood. They were asked to rate the events again. Individuals, who participated in the imagining test, became convinced that the incident happened (Loftus 75). In summary, the discussion about the false memory syndrome is far from being complete. False memory syndrome makes it difficult to judge the viability of an event and is very hard to banish from ones memory. A small false creation embeds in the mind for a very long time. Once an individual creates a false memory, it becomes part and parcel of his or her life. Therapeutic sessions should be taken with care so as to reduce false memory implanted to reduce ... Supporters of the ban believes that wearing niqab is not a part of the Canadian Culture and should be banned in order to free Muslim Women from oppression . This is known as the Binge Purge Cycle . Unlike anorexia nervosa, those with bulimia nervosa fall within a normal or slightly overweight weight range and usually perform their eating disordered behaviors in secret due to the severe feelings of shame and disgust which accompany the binge purge cycle. Due to the intensity of the combined mental and physical assault bulimia has on the body, complications of bulimia can stay with a patient long after recovery is achieved. Such complications include, but are not limited to: Decaying tooth enamel (tooth rot) due to the stomach acid constantly eroding the protective layering on the teeth; those who have suffered from this eating disorder for more than seven years (the average time of recovery for those with bulimia nervosa) have a great likelihood of rupturing either their stomach or ... Here Kaufman begins to unravel the differences between these two types of foreign policy. The extraordinary are the issues surrounding war, terrorist attacks, cyber warfare. The mundane, is as simple as the labels on your clothing, but as complex as who is allowed entry into the U.S.. These topics do not elicit as much of a reaction, because as Kaufman argues the foreign policy decisions that most people know about and follow closely are those that are extraordinary because the stakes appear to be so high. (Kaufman pg. 3). Although there appears to be strong evidence suggesting the importance of foreign policy, that is not reflected in American culture. As noted above, this is strongly related to the perceived value of the issues. In today s world we have more access to information than we have ever had in the history of the world. One would think this would lead to a more informed and educated public. While this could be the case in some areas of study, it is not the case in foreign policy. Mead addresses some of Americans views and the role they play throughout history. • 24. Cognitive Dissonance Theory Leon Festinger created the cognitive dissonance theory as an attempt to explain why people desire to have consistency between their behaviors and actions. Cognitive dissonance is the distressing mental state people feel when they find themselves doing things that don t fit with what they know, or having opinions that do not fit with other opinions they hold (Festinger, 1957; as cited in Griffin, 2009). Thus, people are motivated to change either their behavior or their belief when feelings of dissonance arise. Dissonance is reduced using three mental strategies. Selective exposure is the strategy used before a decision is made. The premise of this strategy is to avoid information that is likely to increase dissonance. The second ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The difference between condition one and three is that condition three allowed the participants to self affirm after finding out their verdict was in disagreement with the other group members. Festinger argues that the lack of choice adds consonant cognitions which reduce the overall amount of dissonance that otherwise would be experienced (Festinger, 1957, 1958; as cited in Matz Woods, 2005). Additionally, the opportunity to self affirm strengthens self worth and thereby reduces the dissonance created when people s actions threaten their personal integrity (Simon, Greenberg, Brehm, 1995; as cited in Matz Woods, 2005). Thus, Matz and Woods hypothesize that dissonance will be reduced by the lack of choice and the opportunity to self affirm. The results show low levels of discomfort in the lack of choice and self affirmation conditions, providing an explanation of the kinds of strategies people use to reduce dissonance. Study three introduces an interpersonal strategy introduced by Festinger: changing one s own attitude to align with others opinions (Festinger, 1957; as cited in Matz Woods, 2005). Building off of Festinger s idea of changing one s attitude three conditions are used in this study. The three strategies used are: (a) changing one s own attitudes to agree with others in the group, (b) influencing others to change their opinion, and (c) joining a different, attitudinally congenial group. • 25. The Importance Of Student Behaviors And The Classroom... Educators have the opportunity to make a great impact on students, however with this opportunity comes many challenges in terms of students behaviours and the classroom environment. The DECD (Department for Education and Child Development) states that children and students with a disability or special needs must be given the same opportunities for education as other children and students. It is therefore important, that educators understand the reasons behind students behaviours, both positive and negative, to be able to create a positive, safe and rigorous learning environment (Efratiā€Virtzer Margalit, 2009). According to Beaman, Wheldall Kemp (2007), the majority of students with emotional and behavioural difficulties are taught in mainstream classrooms highlighting the significance of effective classroom behaviour management. Whilst a significant minority of a class may present with challenging or disruptive behaviours, it still impacts teachers ability to create an effective learning environment (Beaman, Wheldall Kemp, 2007). According to a recent report by the South Australian parliament, teachers have a lack of knowledge regarding challenging student behaviours (Parliament of South Australia, 2010). Teachers also have a greater lack of knowledge regarding students who also have a disability (e.g. ADHD or Autism) which often leads to these children becoming withdrawn, disengaged, socially isolated from their peers or they do not participate in class (Parliament ... • 28. Critical Analysis Of The Man He Killed In this poem, The Man He Killed , the poet Thomas Hardy explores a complex theme, which is war, using the simplest language. Throughout this essay I will be discussing the thoughts and opinions Hardy has on war. The Man He Killed was written in the nineteenth century during the Boer War that took place in South Africa in 1898. This war was because the British Empire wanted to take control over the land because of its rich gold and diamonds. The poem is written in a conversational tone, with speech marks, making us feel that the soldier is talking directly to us reminiscing about killing a foe whilst at war. The speaker in this poem is a man of low class who was unemployed and had already sold all his possessions and consequently had no choice but to join the army; this can be seen when the man states just as I was out of work had sold his traps . Hardy is showing us that some people join the army just out of desperation not because they believe in the political side of war. These unemployed, low classed people have no other way of earning the money to help them survive so they turn to the only other option the have joining the army. The speaker is forced to kill another man which he claims was his foe and later on realises that he and the man had a lot in common. During this poem the man is forced to kill another man and the repetition of because implies hesitation and uncertainty about why he shot the man. He tries to reassure himself by saying just so: my ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Because the origin of blindness varies from case to case, there is no single remedy and limited solutions are available to the visually impaired. However, recent technological breakthroughs have allowed scientists and doctors to test out possible solutions to a particular niche in the blindness spectrum: degenerative retinal diseases. Degenerative retinal diseases such as Retinitis Pigmentosa (RP) attack the retina exclusively. Because of that exclusivity, the other structures in the eye are typically not compromised. Therefore, the use of a retinal implant or prosthetic device to restore functional vision is possible. While it is important to note that retinal implants are still a pioneering technology, clinical trials such as the Argus II clinical trial, and eye health care professionals alike are reporting promising results. As such, it seems likely that retinal prosthetic devices will be a game changer in the future treatment of degenerative retinal diseases since the devices can restore a form of vision to an otherwise blind patient. The Benefits Of Organic Food And Organic Foods As consumers, we see the label organic in most supermarkets that we shop at every day, but do we know what makes certain food items obtain the label organic? There is much controversy on the topic organic foods and for good reason. There are many factors to take into account when decided if organic food is superior to conventionally grown foods. There are key components that all amount to how nutritious your food is. It all comes down to the quality of the land that the food is grown on, the farming technique, the elimination of toxic chemicals, and the increase in certain beneficial vitamins. The only downside to being pro organic food is the slightly increased price tag. Despite the increased cost, organic foods are a healthier choice compared to conventional chemical ridden foods. In the United States, organic food has become so popular people don t have to grow their own food or even find a farmers market to be able to obtain organic food. You can typically find it in supermarkets everywhere. Organic farming has been around for quite some time; it first became popular during the 1940s. Throughout the decades, people gained more knowledge on the benefits of farming and eating organic. The association with this Greek goddess went much deeper. The Greeks inspired athleticism and personal prowess by shifting political confrontation to physical competition. • 33. The Comparison Of Godot, By James Beckett There is a vast literature on interpretations of Godot, encompassing Christian and anti Christian religion, Freudian and Jungian psychology, and a kitchen sinkful of esoteric and obscure isms. The undeniable fact is that no one really knows what Godot is about, and the playwright himself clearly believed that the core of his art lay in the ambiguities resulting from the absence of information, saying that everything he knew about the characters was in the text and if he knew anything more about the characters then he would have put it in the text. That Godot is more hole than doughnut has made it an easy target of parody if not outright ridicule. Beckett evolved his unique literary voice by distinguishing his style from that of his mentor James Joyce, whom he assisted during the writing of Finnegans Wake. In almost exactly the opposite way, Joyce grounded his art in fanatically perfectionist control of his work, leaving no missing pieces or rough edges in stuffing his characters full to overflowing so that we the readers know more about them than they could possibly know about themselves. By far the best biography of Beckett, in my opinion, is by James Knowlson of the University of Reading, whose 20 year friendship with the playwright led to the donation of notebooks, manuscripts and other archival material that became the world s leading Beckett archive. In December 2011 Suleyman Avci conducted a study on 508 first grade students to learn the relationship between self regulation and the delay of gratification in doing well in academics.
