Topics To Write Persuasive Essays On
Writing an essay on the topic "Topics To Write Persuasive Essays On" may initially seem like a
straightforward task, but delving into it reveals a myriad of challenges. The difficulty lies in the
vast array of potential subjects that fall under the umbrella of persuasive essays. The sheer
abundance of options can be overwhelming, making it challenging to narrow down a specific
theme that not only aligns with personal interests but also resonates with the target audience.
Furthermore, the process involves extensive research to identify relevant and credible sources
that support the chosen topic. Analyzing various perspectives, statistics, and expert opinions
requires time and effort, adding to the complexity of the task. Crafting a compelling thesis
statement that encapsulates the essence of the persuasive essay and effectively communicates the
intended message demands careful consideration and precision.
Additionally, striking the right balance between providing sufficient evidence and maintaining a
coherent flow of ideas is another hurdle. Ensuring logical transitions between paragraphs,
maintaining clarity, and avoiding common pitfalls in persuasive writing, such as overly emotional
appeals or weak arguments, requires a keen eye for detail and critical thinking skills.
Moreover, the challenge extends to capturing the reader's attention from the very beginning. The
introduction must be engaging, presenting the importance and relevance of the chosen topic in a
way that encourages readers to delve deeper into the essay. The conclusion, too, should leave a
lasting impression, reinforcing the main points and compelling the audience to consider the
presented arguments seriously.
In conclusion, writing an essay on the topic "Topics To Write Persuasive Essays On" involves
navigating through a plethora of choices, conducting thorough research, and mastering the art of
persuasive writing. While the process is undoubtedly challenging, it provides an opportunity to
enhance critical thinking skills and hone the ability to communicate effectively. For those seeking

Nursing Interview Essay
Interviewing has become more and more natural for me because I have prepared
and been through quite a few through 4 H and previous career prep courses. Just a
few weeks ago, I had an interview for a nursing school and the first question they
asked me was: tell me about yourself. In addition, to that popular question, they also
asked: what are your strengths and weaknesses and why should we choose you over
another student. The interviewoverall went very well and in the end, I was accepted.

career choice.
2.What are your strengths and weaknesses?
My strengths include living a highly motivated life style, having a high work ethic,
dependable, flexible with hours, patient, understanding, and my communication skills.
One of my weaknesses that I have been working toward is managing my time more
efficiently. Since I have bought a planner and using it actively, I have been very

You should hire me because I have to qualifying attributes that you are looking for.

Essay about The Impact Of Religious Settlers In Religious...
The places where we live today have not always been here. The way we live has
not always been the same. In fact, very few places that existed back in the colonial
times exist today. If they still exist, it is because of the success gained over the
years gone by after the settlers came to the New World. Settlers came to the New
World in search of many things. They came in search of gold, they came for new
lives, and they came for religious freedom.
In England, during this time period, people were being judged, separated and
persecuted on the basis of their religious beliefs. There were two groups of people
that were unhappy with the Church. These groups came to be known as the Puritans

The Puritans are known for founding the Massachusetts Bay Colony. These people of
the journey also set out for their self government to be a commonwealth, which is a
community founded on law and united by an agreement that the law would serve the
common good of the people.
Among these people who were busy trying to remake a remarkable Christian life,
there were people who didn t necessarily agree with the common viewpoint. These
people became known as dissenters. Dissenters were often persecuted for their
beliefs, and just a few up and went and actually made a difference. They are still
recognized today.
In the colony of Rhode Island, there was one main dissenter who was very well
known. He was the assistant pastor in Salem in the Massachusetts Bay Colony. He
had two main thoughts that got him into trouble with his community. One was the
fact that he questioned the legality of the colony s charter, since the Indians had not
been paid for the taking of their land. Another point was the fact that he believed that
the civil government of the colony had no right to punish religious dissenters. He felt
that people s personal views of the religion should not be punished because everyone
is entitled to their own opinion.
Soon after he stated his thoughts, Roger Williams was banished from the colony. He
went off and founded Providence, which was the first village in what is
What Are The Advantages And Disadvantages Of I-Voting
System
Anti phishing I voting system using Visual Cryptography (VC) aims at providing a
facility to cast vote for critical and confidential internal corporate decisions. The user
or the employee is allowed to cast his or her vote from any remote place. The
election is held in full confidentiality where the useris allowed to vote only if he logs
into the system by entering the correct password. The password is generated by
merging two shares using VC scheme. Before the election administrator sends
share 1 to the voter s e mail id and share 2 will be available in the voting system for

There are different kinds of applications based on the Internet. One of them is online
voting system. The use of new technologies to support voting is the subject of great
debate. Several people advocate the benefits it can bring such as improved speed and
accuracy in counting, accessibility, voting from home and it is also concerned with
the risk it poses, such as unequal access, violation to secrecy, anonymity and
alteration of the results of an election.
Phishing attack is identified as a major attack among all online attacks. Phishing is
the attempt to obtain sensitive information such as usernames, passwords, and credit
card details (and, indirectly, money), often for malicious reasons, by disguising as a
trustworthy entity in an electronic communication. Attacker creates a replica of
original website or attacker sends a lot of email to the user asking him to change
certain confidential data as shown in Fig 1. User then fills and submits the sensitive
and useful information into the fake website which allows the attacker to pull the
information and save the data for his or her own illegal use. So, by using visual
cryptography technique the problems of online voting system such as security risk

102 Minutes that Change America
A moment may change everything to evil or good in our life and community.
Some events occurred may have affects in several ways. September 11, 2001 was a
historic day in the United States. Four airplanes were hijacked by terrorists. The first
one crashed into the Pentagon in Washington, D.C. The second plane was stopped by
passengers. The two of them crashed the biggest towers in the U.S which are the
World Trade Centerin New York. On that day 3,000 people died. These occasions

Also, I sat for almost 6 hours to pass the immigration line. They were asking me
questions about the reasons for why I came to the United States. However, I did not
speak English, so, I asked them if they had a translator or my husband may help me to

Third, after the September 11 attack, the relationship has undergone some profound

Afghanistan and Pakistan. Political people in Saudi Arabia did not accept what

In addition, people a treatment became very rude with Muslims because they

Impact of Globalization on Non Western Culture Essay
Impact of Globalization on Non Western Cultures
Examples of Globalization s Impact
Globalization is far reaching in this day and age. Globalization is the worldwide
flow of goods, services, money, people, information, and culture. It leads to a greater
interdependence and mutual awareness among the people of the world (Tischler,
2011, 2007, p. 430). One non Western culturethat has been impacted by globalization
is China. An example of the impact of globalization on China is their economy. Since
joining the World Trade Organization, China has transformed from a culturethat
relied on economic self sufficiency and shunned the thought of globalization to an
economy that is progressively more open to trade and foreign investment.

Indian culture before the transformation of globalization was a male dominated
society with very little respect or regard for females. According to India s
constitution, women are legal citizens of the country and have equal rights with men
(Indian Parliament), however due to lack of acceptance from the male dominated
society; Indian women have suffered immensely prior to globalization (Tripod, n.d.).
Indian culture after the transformation of globalization has had an innervation of
mass media, most prominent being satellite television bringing images and dialogue
from countless other cultures. This global influence has started to turn the tables in
the marked sexist roles in Indian culture prior to globalization.
Analysis of Example
An analysis of example can be derived from the aforementioned discriminatory
sexist roles in India that prior to globalization highly favored the male population
verses the female population. The female population in India has previously been
less than second class citizens. Indian women s cultural roles have been previously
defined by traditional customs that are centuries old and no longer apply in this day
and age. Previous to globalization, Indian women were to take total domestic
responsibility. They were not allowed formal education as the majority of teachers
and pupils were male, and the chances of a female remaining chaste was slim in those
settings, and related to tradition, females

more you learn, the more places you ll go . That doctor was, of course, Dr Suess in
his book 1978 book, I Can Read with My Eyes Shut!. Reading is the orchestration of
many skills. It is much more than simply decoding words. The National Reading
Panel Report (A Closer Look, 2004, p. 1) summarised a child s reading process and
teachers effective reading instruction into five essential components. These five
critical elements are phonological awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary and

Studies confirm a high correlation of 0.6 to 0.8 between vocabulary knowledge
and reading comprehension (Baumann Kame enui as cited in Dalton and
Grisham, 2011 p. 307). However, the rate at which individual children develop
vocabulary knowledge is enormously varied. At 5 years old there is already a 30
million word exposure gap (Hart Risley as cited in Dalton and Grisham, 2011 p.
307). Linguistic morphology, the study of words and word origins, is a significant
component of vocabulary learning programs. Children should be actively supplied
with multiple exposures to words and exposures in varying contexts. Walbank and
Bisby (2016, p. 11) describe how building adjective vocabulary adds dramatically
more interest, accuracy and detail to students oral and written language. To encourage
this development, students can work in small groups to brainstorm alternative, more
interesting words, for commonly used adjectives. For example, replacing the word
good with magnificent , superlative or exceptional . This direct vocabulary
instruction is essential, but having only explicit teaching is insufficient. Beck et al
(2008) estimate that educators can only actively teach 300 400 words per year (as
cited in Dalton and Grisham, 2011 p. 307). Also, research indicates that children learn
a far greater number of words indirectly through reading, than from instruction

is that we lose control of what happens to us at some point, and believe that fate

Walt Whitman writes in section five, ВЁWhoever denies me [gladness and

Izanami Creation Story
One creation story says that long ago, two gods named Izanagi and Izanami were
commanded by the primal gods to make and solidify the land of Japan. The two
gods then threw a spear into the sea. The mud that dripped from the spear became
an island, and there, Izanagi and Izanami built a palace and married each other.
Over time, Izanami gave birth to the islands of Japan and many deities, but she
died giving birth to her last one, who was a fire god. Angry, Izanagi beheaded his
son and followed Izanami to Yomi, the Land of the Dead, urging her to return back
with him. Izanami warned him not to look at her, and went to consult with the gods
of Yomi. Growing impatient after waiting, Izanagi entered into the palace of the
gods of Yomi, and saw Izanami. Izanagi fled from Izanami, only escaping by
covering the entrance to Yomi with a large boulder. After, he went to river to purify
himself. When... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

So, the ultimate goal of the online voting system should be reliability, performance
and security. Guaranteeing access of users to the resources online, the
implementation guarantees reliability and is designed for a concurrent load of up to
1000 users. The system is also built to be highly secure and unquestionable integrity.
On top of that, any information from the client to the server will be used for secure
communication between the system components.
5 How far is the proposed system beneficial?
The online voting system has many advantages compared to the traditional ballot
casting system. The most obvious positives benefits are that the voters can henceforth
vote anytime during the election time, anywhere, and anyplace not having to
commute to the polling station. The voters can vote from their homes, offices or even
holiday resorts.
The benefits of online voting system include better accessibility for people with
disabilities or those who live abroad, being more appealing to younger generations
and faster access to results. In some cases, online voting also leads to higher voter
turnout, depending on the time it remains active. Another benefit of online voting is
that it reduces the cost

English Comparison Essay
Red Jacket and Olaudah Equiano have different opinions on the people of the United
States of America because they had different roles and were in different situations,
they were in different locations, and they experienced different types of treatment and
behavior. Olaudah Equiano was a captured African from Benin; his home in Western
South Africa. He worked as a slave in Barbados and Virginia but surprisingly bought
his freedom and headed to England to support the British anti slavery movement. He
learned how to read and write in English while settled in Great Britain. This led to
him writing about his experience of being a slave and all the horrific sights he saw.
He wrote a piece about him being captured and sent to the ship. He talked about his
journey, shows the knowledge, and education he had back then. He wrote about the
Americans and what he thought about them. He also mentions the treatment the
Africans were getting. On the other hand, Red Jacket had the role of a Native
American Chief, he was a prominent leader of the Native American tribe called the
Senecas. He, unlike Equiano, wrote about his experience while in the United States of
America. His speech was his weapon to defend the religion he believes in. He uses

Peculiar Circumstances During the Baroque Era
One of the most important eras in the history of classical music, was undoubtedly the
Baroque Era. This period lasted from 1650 to 1750, and largely stemmed from the
musical innovations of both Italy and Germany. Through this era, the arrangements
such as the concerto and the sonata were produced, as well as mastery of the organ
and other instruments. Two of perhaps the most influential artists of this era were
Arcangelo Corelli and George Fridric Handel.
Before discussing the styles and techniques that emerged and were reformed during
the Baroque Period of music, first the cultural background must be discussed. The
Baroque Period of Music lasted from 1650 to 1750, and really was heavily
influenced by two particular countries: Italy and Germany (Sartorius). In Italy,
architecture and the layout of the city of Rome had been completely revived because
of the Renaissance period, and this new innovation in architecture inspired music
(Sartorius). Musicians aspired to experiment with music, and try new innovations to
make their compositions sound fresh and original (Sartorius). Meanwhile, up in
Germany, composers were desperate to get in the various courts of royalty that
existed at that time, due to the fact that Germany was broken up into many states
(Sartorius). If composers could become the court musicians for nobility, it could
insure great fame, job security, and profits (Sartorius). Thus, the Baroque period of
Music was inspired by architectural advancement in Italy, and
Historical Context Of The Treaty Of Versailles
Treaty of Versailles: Historical Context Ninety eight years ago, after the fighting of
World War I subsided, the Treaty of Versailles ( the Treaty ) was signed at the
Palace of Versailles in France by the Allied powers and Germany. The compromise
of the Treaty is that it ended World War I. The conflict of the Treaty is that it fed
the German s hate for the Allied Powers and, in turn, was the cause of World War
II. In their hearts was a stern resolution that the fiasco of November 11, 1918,
would not be repeated for all serious people in America, as in all nations, remembered
that much hailed Versailles Treaty was sown the very seeds of World War II (Library

David Lloyd George, the Prime minister of Britain, Georges Clemenceau, the French
Prime Minister, and the Italian Prime Minister, Vittoria Orlando, made up the Big

, the United States president at the time,
also took part in the writing of the Treaty although, out of his fourteen points, only
one made it into the Treaty because the European leaders had a different agenda.
Germany would also be involved, although not in the writing process, but would be
most affected by the provisions of the Treaty.
During the signing of the Treaty, the U. S. citizens and senate would oppose their

The Presidential Election Of 1980 Essay
On Tuesday, 4 November 1980, The United States presidential election of 1980 was
held. The competition was between incumbent Democratic President Jimmy Carter
and his opponent, former Californian Republican Governor, Ronald Reagan. Reagan,
assisted by a falling economy complicated by inflation and high unemployment, and
the Iran hostage crisis, Reagan would win the election in a sweep, receiving the
largest number of electoral votes ever tallied by a presidential candidate not currently
in office. Jimmy Carter, who beat out Edward M. Kennedy for the nomination for
Democratic leader, attacked Reagan as a wild right wing fundamentalist. The former
actor, Ronald Reaganpledged to elevate the cynical mood of the nation, and won a
conclusive victory. This election marked the creation of what was called the Reagan
Revolution, and indicated a conservative repositioning in national government.
Throughout the 1970s, the United States underwent a wrenching period of low
economic growth, high inflation and interest rates, and intermittent energy crises. In
the spring and summer of 1979, inflation was on the rise and various parts of the
United States were experiencing energy shortages, Carter was widely blamed and
planned on delivering a major speech about energy conservation, but he thought the
American public did not care for what he had to say. In the mist of all this, Carter
went on the presidential retreat for the bilateral treaty on Camp David. For more than
a week, a
Comparing Christian And Aristotelian Views
1.For Aristotle, the contemplative life is directed towards the divine while the
practical life is directed towards the human good. In Aristotle, these ways of life are
distinct. But the Jewish and Christian faith perspectives create possibilities for a unity
between the contemplative and the practical that is not possible from an Aristotelian
perspective. Explain.
In the Jewish and Christian faiths it is possible to work towards both the divine
and human good at the same time. For example, in Luke, there is the parable of the
Good Samaritan. This story tells of a traveller who is beaten up on the side of the
road. A priest walks by, and then a Levite. Both ignore the beaten man. Then a
Samaritan walks by. He assists the man and pays for a place for him to stay. He is
loving and saving his neighbor despite traditional rivalry between Jews and
Samaritans. By saving his neighbor and loving his neighbor he is loving God. Any
person who acts in this way is working towards both divine and human good at the
same time. Therefore this parable proves that, unlike in the Aristotelian point of view,
in Christian and Jewish faith perspectives it is both possible and probable that

that they were distinctly made choices, rather than voluntary actions. These choices
showed that the son was clearly not acting in a virtuous manner. The father also made
choices in this parable, but his choices would be seen by Aristotle as much more
virtuous. He loves his son to such a degree that he is willing to make sacrifices for
him. This courage to save his son is relative, however. If someone who did not feel
the same connection and love for the boy saved him from his bad decision making,
they would be seen as even more virtuous because they are saving someone to whom

Diversity In The Film Industry
Hollywood has always struggled with diversity, that s no surprise. The lack of
representation between women, minorities, and the LGBT community is still an
issue that needs to be resolved. Just last year after the 2016 Oscars the
#OscarsSoWhite hashtag went viral due to the all white nominees. It was clear that
the nominations favored more in predominately white actors rather than those of
color. However, the difference this year round is remarkable. The Academy learned
their lesson after last year s criticism and came through with a change featuring
Moonlight, Hidden Figures, and Fences which earned Best Picture nominations along

The Leadership Theories Of Leadership
Emerging Leadership Theories
Leadership has been an emerging topic, where over the last twenty to thirty years
research has shown it to be of critical value. According to DeRue (2014), the depth
and richness of existing literature has produced an array of important insights about
leadership in organizations. While the development of leadership is not just about
developing knowledge and skills, it is also about it is also about developing people
s motivation to lead, their awareness concerning the risks and rewards coupled with
leadership, as well as their identity as leaders, and thought processes on what it means
to participate in the a leadership process. With that being said, the servant leader
approach places focus on leadership from the leaders point of view, emphasizing their
attentiveness on the followers concerns, empowering them, all the while helping
them to grow and develop through encouragement (Northouse, 2013).
Servant leadership may seem to be contradictory to the norms of leadership; on the
contrary, this approach offers a unique perspective on leadership. Servant leadership
is based on ethics or the morals and values of the leader who is concerned with
placing their attentiveness towards their followers not only on achieving
organizational objectives. Although the primary assumption of servant leadership is
that if the leader can effectively empower followers, the organization as a whole will
accomplish its objectives naturally. Northouse (2013)

Cannabis has been in human history for centuries. It not only in biographies

marijuana in medicine is poorly researched and awareness is key the main purpose
of this essay is to aware the people of its uses and potential. Marijuana consistently
proves it worth such as helping certain patients for example patients with glaucoma
or restriction of the eyes blood vessels and many other health concerns. Also being
that cannabis is a plant and that when medicated it goes through certification not only
is it legal but a s natural as it gets so the main point is that marijuana is medicine and
here are some factors to lighten the path as to why.

Theoretical Perspectives On Abortion
Abortion is the intention to terminate a human pregnancy. It is usually done during
the first 28 weeks of pregnancy. Abortion was first introduced in 1803 which was
first passed by Britain; they called it the Antiabortion law . In over several countries
there is history of women assisting one another to abort. Until the late 1800 s women
healers in the U.S. provided abortions and trained other women to do so, without
legal prohibitions. By 1880, unless the abortionwas to save the life of the women due
to give birth, it was illegal. Some women are forced to resort to pregnancydue to their

It seems now that it has become a normal thing in life. People voice their opinion
which makes the arguments about this situation stronger. Most statistics that

people are for abortion. In some cases where medical emergencies, rape victims
can be minors and enabled disease detection. In some medical emergencies women

cases of rape, the victim may be a minor. Their mindset wouldn t be physically or

abortion. People argue that Abortion is a form of murder, other birth control is

value of human life which is not a way to treat a baby that is about to be born.
Other birth control methods are available thus avoiding to resort to abortion. Also,

Analysis Of The Poem The Dead
McCrea and Cheng have differing views on the role of identity within Joyce s The
Dead. McCrea argues that identity is incomplete because of the limitations of
language whereas Cheng argues that the cultural atmosphere shapes identity. I,
however, agree with certain aspects of both arguments. Firstly, I believe that McCrea
s focus on failed communication is needed to understand the nature of identity within
The Dead; however, McCrea incorrectly blames everything on the failure of language
, when the individual and society is also partly responsible. Therefore, I believe that
Cheng s argument, that the environment partly forms identity, is valid; however, he
needlessly restricts the Conroys identities by directly comparing them to Britain and
Ireland. I will use Cheng s focus on a culturally formed identity in tandem with
McCrea s thematic focus on failed communication within The Dead to answer the
question of why Gabriel Conroy s identity fades at the end of The Dead (248). To
answer this question, I will consider Gabriel s personal thoughts about himself,
others, and how he responds to each challenge he receives to his personhood.
First, we must discuss the state of Gabriel s identity before it fades. Before it fades,
he is misunderstood. This fact is seen when Gabriel has a conversation with Lily.
During this conversation, Gabriel exclaims that I suppose we ll be going to your
wedding one of these fine days with your young man (197). Lily responds, with great

Family The Taino Indians had sturdy familial ties and related families lived
together. They lived in very organized kingdoms and small villages, their order was
decided by the chiefs. The Taino s appearance was bronze colored, average height,
dark, flowing coarse hair, and dark and slightly oblique dark eyes. The men were
typically naked or sported a breech cloth called nagua. Single women walked
around naked, while married women wore an apron made of cotton or palm fibers
to cover their genitalia. The length of the apron determined their rank size. The
Taino culture was a polygamous one. The male cacique as the leader was
permitted to have more wives than the other men in the villages. A woman whom
was married to a cacique was considered a great honor. Church Among the Taino
community, there was a hierarchy of creators. The Yocahu was the highest creator.

Gods were the Zemi and Maboya. The Zemis was a God of both sexes and it was

Summary Of The Poem To A Mouse
In the poem To a Mouse by Robert Burns, the little mouse plans to build a home but
gets destroyed by the farmer with the plow. Similarly, in the novel Of Mice and
Men by Steinbeck, George, and Lennie s dream of owning a farm gets destroyed
by Curley. In the poem To a Mouse by Burns, the speaker writes an apology to the
mouse for the way it gets treated by humans. The speaker describes the mouse as a
sleek, tiny, timorous, cowering beast that is running away from humans. He tells
the mouse that he does not need to run away from him. He says to the mouse, why
dash away, so quick, so rash, in a frenzied flash when I would be loath to run after
you . The speaker means no harm but the mouse s first instinct is to run when he
sees humans because he expects to get chased by humans. The speaker
understands the reasons for the mouse sometimes stealing food. The narrator says
I have no doubt you sometimes shiver; What of it, friend? You too must live! He
knows that the mouse must find a way to get food, so it can survive. The little
mouse had a home built to keep warm but the farmer with the plow unintentionally
destroyed its home. When apologizing to the mouse the speaker says Your tiny
house lies in a ruin, its fragile walls and rent and strewn! Now nothing s left to
build you a new one of mosses green. The mouse plans to have a home for winter
gets destroyed. The farmer destroying the mouse s home shows that dreams and plans
can be destroyed by something or someone.

Analysis Of The Poem Fandom Of The Walking Dead
For my ethnography project, I chose to study the fandom of The Walking Dead.
For the purpose of this paper, I will refer to The Walking Dead as a comic, a video
game, and a TV series. The focus of this ethnography is to understand how the comic
book culture influences many fans. Since the series is based on a graphic novelseries,
and some of the fans are schooled in comic culture; they arrive with literacy in comic
storytelling. Others who are not fans may recognize the visually and narrative of
zombiefilms, in the horror genre after 1968 s Night of the Living Deadand Dawn of
the Dead. Yet, many Walking Dead fans appear to have migrated to the zombie tale
without any particular connection to the comic book storytelling, or... Show more

The narrative became so popular that it has reached into video games and novelized
interpretations. The series does depart from the comic s origin narrative in some
forms. Introducing new characters, such as the Dixon brothers, is one example. Yet,
in many ways, the series transforms the tale more through the appreciation of the
apocalypse and compelling a visual story about how human face disaster. The series
popularity raises the ethnographic question of, why people are drawn to this
particular tale and fandom community.
The Walking Dead fandom perhaps on some levels harbors a deep seated
fascination with macabre that has often been projected onto the imagination of

It is best described as a lack of moral judgment and self control. In this picture, you
can see Michonne exploiting these two zombies through a legion amount of
zombies. Michonne was trapped and running out of food when she noticed walkers

camouflage her way through without any worries. Michonne hacks off the arms and
lower jaws of the zombies. Then she chains them up by their necks to use them as
escorts for an escape. The reasons behind this method are simple. Without their arms
and mouth, the zombies essentially lose their purpose. That is what The Walking
Dead is all about. It makes the character make

ICAO English Language Proficiency Since the birth of the International Civil
Aviation Organization (ICAO) in 1947, this U.N. funded specialized agency has been
a substantial catalyst for the development of standard principles and techniques for
international air navigation. In addition, they continue to facilitate the promotion of
safety and overall development in the continuum of flight. Between the advances in
regulations, aircraft operation, aeronautical charts, air traffic services, aircraft
accident investigations and much more, this powerful agency has contributed to the

Undeniably, there is an absolute necessity of mutual understanding between all pilots
and controllers. Perhaps the International Civil Aviation Organizations
standardization of the English language in aviation in 1951 was one of the most vital
advances for flight safety. This official language of aviation, for the most part, kept
the skies relatively safe. It would not be until the 70 s come around, when tragedy
would hit and the ICAO would have to reevaluate their intervention with
communication within aviation.
Although English may have been the standard language permeating throughout the
skies, the flaws of air traffic communication would soon come into light. Basic
misunderstandings turned into colossal circumstances. According to a journal
analysis:
On March 27th, 1977, after a tiring shift, the Dutch pilot of a Boeing 747
misunderstood a clearance, after take off for a take off clearance and began rolling

performed an error, that only bilingual speakers can call, code switching . It is when

The Theatre Of The Absurd Analysis
The Theatre of the Absurd is a collection of plays written after World War II that
were considered of having ridiculous and random ideals. Many of these plays came
from Europe, including Rhinoceros by Ionesco. In Rhinoceros, the main character
Berenger is a man who is not keeping up with himself and is having a midlife crisis.
Everyone else in the town is living a normal life when the townspeople start to turn
into rhinoceroses. With his differentness and being so out of place, he is the only
one left as a human over a rhinoceros. Now that Berenger wants to be like everyone
else and turn into a rhinoceros, he cannot because of his major differences. In the
play, Rhinoceros, different aspects of the Theatre of the Absurdcome through in the
crazy storyline created by Ionesco. No communication and no logic are two of the
aspects of the absurdwriting concepts during this time period. One of the absurd
aspects of no communication is found through the lines of the play.
No communication is one of the absurdist aspects in the play Rhinoceros that
reoccurs throughout the storyline. Towards the beginning of the play, the characters
find that a rhinoceros is trampling through the town. The housewife finds that her cat
has been trampled on by the strange creature, and is very upset. She wails to the
others: It ran over my cat, it ran over my cat! (Ionesco 26). Everyone responds back
to her: Poor little thing! (Ionesco 26). Even though the cat has been trampled over

Think about what Georgiana is meant to symbolize. A beautiful creation marred by
one thing. Sound familiar? It should because she represents you and me and
everyone on earth. No man or woman (threw that in for the feminists) is or ever will
be perfect. Now, think about the birthmark. It symbolizes our sin and our
imperfections, inescapable realities. The birthmark, like our sin, cannot be removed.
It is attached to us. It is part of us. That is why when Alymer attempts to remove it,
Georgiana dies in the process. Even Alymer himself is a testament to our
imperfection. Consider, had Alymer been perfect, Georgiana never would have died.
The operation would have gone perfectly. There are other examples, the flower
withering at Georgiana s touch. A testament to the evil we all have within ourselves.
These same themes can be seen in some of Hawthorne s other works as well. In
Young Goodman Brown the title character attends a witches meeting in Salem,
Massachusetts. The evil of humanity appears when everyone the town is also at the

people who were at the meeting. He even becomes delusional, fearing that the roof of
the church will collapse and kill everyone inside, including himself. Quite

That s the cooking of the meat, and the soaking of the corn husks. These steps take
time and if you don t allow for them, they ll throw off your whole day.
Let s start with cooking the meat. The best way to do this is the night before
tamale day. You ll need two large pots. Cut the pork roast into 5 or 6 large chunks.
Place the chicken in one pot and the roast in the other and cover both with water.
This is also a fun place to throw in some garlic cloves, onion slices, or anything else
you think might serve the meat well. Bring to a boil. The chicken will be done in
about 2 hours, the roast will need at least 2 ВЅ hours.
While the meats are cooking (if you re doing this all in one day), start soaking the
Corn Husks. You need to soak them submerged in warm water for at least 2 hours to
make them soft and pliable.
When the meats are done, let them cool in their liquid. If you have enough
refrigerator space, you can place them and their pots in the fridge overnight. This will
not only cool the meat, but also solidify the fat on top, making it easier to remove.
Remove both meats from their stock, but save the stock! This is a key ingredient
later on.
Now take the skin from the chicken and debone it shredding the meat with your
fingers. Shred the pork in a similar fashion while discarding as much fat out of the
meat as possible. Combine both of the meats.
In a small pot on the stove, warm 1/2 C of Corn Oil 6 Tbsp Chili

Gun Control Arguments
Different people have different opinions on the topic of bearing weapons. Some
people believe that owning of weapons such as guns is good because it will help
them against criminals while others feel that they should be banned. However, in
June 2008, in the case of District of Columbia v. Heller, the United States Supreme
Court ruled that people were allowed to keep guns for self defense (Neily III, 2010).
This was one of the most important rulings on gun rights since the adoption of
Second Amendment in 1791 on Bill of Rights. The second Amendment of United
States Constitutionstates that in a Free State, peoples right to bear and keep arms
shall not be infringed. There have been many cases when the court has been engaged

The court reached this decision after gun owners managed to present sufficient
evidence that showed why they should be allowed to carry guns and therefore
restricting them is violation of their constitution rights. The federal court was called
to decide the case after courts of lower jurisdiction failed to agree if the law that
govern owning of firearms should be uphold. In addition, the court also agreed that
the Second Amendment laws demand states to allow people to use firearms outside
their homes. Furthermore, it was held that it is not necessary for a state to enact laws
that will ensure that the guns will be carried when they are concealed (Woodruff,
2014). The author of this article further states that even if the court ruled out in favor
of the Second Amendment, there is need for a discussion on how California will
regulate gun rights. According to ABA Journal author by the name Martha Nell, on
the issue of gun rights, she stated that the constitution is being violated and there is
need for an open discussion in order to honor it. Furthermore, the court agreed that
California Laws on gun controls were violating people rights as they are stipulated in
Second Amendment (Woodruff, 2014). The court also recommended the need for
amending these laws so that they will stop conflicting with the

Traditional Gender Roles In Society
Imagine a world that s been evolved enough to forget traditional gender roles. A
world where people break from the molds and liberate themselves. That would be
progressive and productive. That is the kind of world that the future of our people
should strive for. Maybe there was a time that the human race needed these roles to
establish themselves, but now the times have changed. One by one, the stigmas
are breaking. Despite this, some molds are harder to break and need a little more
cracking to release the people from that specific roles. There are many categories
of which gender and culture can be dissected and redirected to a more progressive
outlook. (may have to take that out) To go into specifics, traditional gender roles in
the United States are inhibiting the progression of equal wages, social
expectations, and self acceptance. For decades, America has upkept traditional
gender roles. For example, one would have seen a family consisting of a man and
woman and a child or two. The man would go to work and ultimately be the sole
breadwinner of the family whilst the woman would take care of the children. Her
job would also entail cleaning the home and providing supper for her family when
her husband arrived home. Men would be thought to fix cars and build things whilst
females were given baby dolls and taught how to become a good mom. Men are
taught to toughen up and to stop crying. Often times, they aren t consoled properly if
they do happen to show any emotion that

Essay On The Characteristics Of A Good Father In The
Chosen
The good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart. ~Luke
6:45. Men have an important role in society to lead and set a good example for the
next generation. If a man s heart is right with God, his goodness will shine like a
light to the world. A good father shows kindness and wisdom in the way he raises
his children. In the book The Chosen, Chaim Potok writes about Mr. Malter and
brings out some of the characteristics of a good father. Mr. Malter is a single father
who has only one son. Throughout the book, he demonstrates his kindness to
Reuven, uses wisdom in the way he raises him, and a calm sense of leadership.
All throughout the book, Mr. Malter shows his kindness not only towards his son,
Reuven, but also towards the boy who injured Reuven, Danny Saunders. After the
accident, Mr. Malter went to the hospital every day to spent time with his son. This
was challenging due to the fact that he was sick with a very bad cold and he also
had a large responsibility as a teacher. One day when he went to the hospital,
Reuven and Danny were out in the hall way talking. When Reuven introduced his
father to Danny, there was an awkward silence. Mr. Malter broke the silence and said

Metacarpal Veins
The systemic circulation consists of the arterial and the venous systems.
Arteries are a high pressure system and a pulse can be palpated. The muscle layer in
arteries is stronger and they will not collapse like veins. Arteries are also deeper than
veins and are surrounded by nerve endings, making arterial puncture painful.
The venous system consists of superficial and deep veins. The superficial or
cutaneous veins are those used for venipuncture. Because thrombosis of the
superficial veins of the lower extremities can easily extend to the deep veins, it is
important to avoid the use of these veins. Superficial veins are bluish in color. The
pressure within veins is low and therefore a pulse will not be palpated in a vein.

If large enough they may accommodate a small gauge needle, however they are used
as a last resort.
Metacarpal Veins:
The metacarpal veins are formed by the union of the digital veins. They are usually
visible, lie flat on the hand, are easy to feel, and are easily accessible. The hand
provides a flat surface for stabilization and as this vein is in the extremity it allows
successive venipunctures to be performed above the site. These veins may therefore
be the first choice for venipuncture.
Cephalic Vein:
The cephalic vein flows upward along the radial aspect of the forearm. Its size
readily accommodates a large needle, while its position provides easy access and
natural splinting. This vein can be accessed from the wrist to the upper arm (using
the most distal region of the vein first). These veins tend to roll so anchoring the vein
during venipuncture essential.
Accessory Cephalic Vein:
The accessory cephalic vein ascends the arm and joins the cephalic vein below the
elbow. Its large size accommodates a large needle.

The Benefits Of Video Games
The Benefits of Videogames
Over the years there has been a huge controversy over video games; the number one
being the effect on the development of children, and this seems to be used a lot as a
way to stigmatize gaming as something entirely destructive. In general, there are
many misconceptions about video games. The Entertainment Software Association
estimates that around 60% of Americans, around 145 million people in all, currently
play some type of video game. Despite the common view of video games as being

The 1918 Pandemic Analysis
The 1918 pandemic instilled the notion that influenza was closely associated with
war, with some scientists even explicitly referring to it as a war disease, because of
the considerable impact it had on armed services personnel. Government officials
convinced that influenza would appear with the outbreak of World War II, established
the Commission on Influenzaof the United States Army Epidemiological Board to
provide technical advice and commence work on an effective vaccine. The heightened
political attention to the threat of infectious diseases prompted the passage of new
legislation that grants governments extended powers intervention (and ownership) by
central governments in health care services, and resulted in millions of dollars worth
Symphony Orchestra Analysis
A symphony is an extended classical composition for an orchestra, found in Western
Art Music. It often consists of four separate and unique, sections known as
movements which are, in some way however, related to one another. The symphony
as a genre began developing during the late 17th century and continued to do so up
until the late 18th century. This important genre of Western Art Music is closely
related to the development of the orchestra. It is therefore critical, in understanding
the symphony, to investigate the development of the orchestra.
In the stretch of a hundred years, the orchestra underwent considerable change in
developing into the standard symphony orchestra of the modern age. When it is first

It was truly a breeding ground for musical excellence and innovation. This orchestra
was by far the largest of its kind in the area, and boasted many of the greatest virtuosi
of the time. Upon Mozart s first visit to Mannheim in 1763, the orchestra made a
huge impression on him. Besides a large orchestra, symphonies included various
specific musical features and techniques, that had become trademarks of the style
developed in Manheim. One Manheim composer in particular had a large impact on
the orchestra and the symphony. His name is Jan Vaclav Antonin Stamic (1717 1757)
(Germanized to Johann Wenzel Anton Stamitz). He started writing orchestral works
to be independent works in their own right. Orchestras no longer needed to
accompany vocal genres to attain any meaning. This paved the way for what was to
become known as abstract music. Stamitz wrote 58 symphonies in his lifetime, and
numerous conciertos. He expanded the orchestra, with woodwinds starting to play an
essential role in the orchestral timbre. The orchestra was no longer made up simply of
a haphazard group of instruments, but was starting to take a fixed formal shape.
Along with his contributions to the expansion of the orchestra he also adopted the
formal structure of four movements for the symphony and started using a distinct
development section in the first movements, which became known as sonata form.
The opening movement is fast, followed by a slow second movement, the third
movement would be a minuet and trio, and the fourth would end the symphony on a

Ideology Was More Important Than Culture and Religion
for...
Ideology was more important than culture and religion for the growth of nationalist
movements in the period before WWII. How far do you agree? Colonial rule had
brought about many significant impacts in South East Asian countries which
included many dissatisfactions among the natives. Thus, this brought about the rise
of nationalist movements. There are many reasons to why there was a development
of these movements and the two main reasons for this cause was ideology as well
as religion and culture. The spread of ideology such as Marxism and communism
and the preservation of culture and religion were one of the main factors as to why
nationalist movements were widespread in the period before WWII. The growth of

These movements were not able to adapt or change its methods to cater to the
needs of the locals and causing their support to decrease in the long run. This
shows that there was limited growth of nationalism in the movements based on
religion and culture. For instance, SI was led by two factions, one by Agus Salim
and the other by the radical political party led by the ISDV. In 1918, when the
Dutch sensed the radicalization in the SI, many supporters withdrew their support
from the party. This caused the SI to ban joined membership in SI and other
communist organisations which was based on ideology. This shows that
movements that are based on religion did not grow and failed to become more
radicalized which was essential for the growth of nationalism especially where
colonial rule was suppressive. Thus, from here it shows that religion does not play
a significant role in the growth of nationalist movements as compared to ideology.
Ideology on the other hand was more broad and more all encompassed than religion
and culture. This helped garner more support in the long run and also led to the
growth of national movement despite suppression from colonial powers. These
movements are also able to manipulate situations of hardships to their advantage
such as the Great Depression and its detrimental effects of the locals. Movements
based on ideologies are more flexible and are able to maneuver its methods to suit
the needs of their people and also deter suppression

Essay about TheImpact Of Religious Settlers In Religious... The places where we live today have not always been here. The way we live has not always been the same. In fact, very few places that existed back in the colonial times exist today. If they still exist, it is because of the success gained over the years gone by after the settlers came to the New World. Settlers came to the New World in search of many things. They came in search of gold, they came for new lives, and they came for religious freedom. In England, during this time period, people were being judged, separated and persecuted on the basis of their religious beliefs. There were two groups of people that were unhappy with the Church. These groups came to be known as the Puritans and the Separatists. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Puritans are known for founding the Massachusetts Bay Colony. Among these people who were busy trying to remake a remarkable Christian life, there were people who didn t necessarily agree with the common viewpoint. These people became known as dissenters. Dissenters were often persecuted for their beliefs, and just a few up and went and actually made a difference. They are still recognized today. In the colony of Rhode Island, there was one main dissenter who was very well known. He was the assistant pastor in Salem in the Massachusetts Bay Colony. He had two main thoughts that got him into trouble with his community. One was the fact that he questioned the legality of the colony s charter, since the Indians had not been paid for the taking of their land. Another point was the fact that he believed that the civil government of the colony had no right to punish religious dissenters. He felt that people s personal views of the religion should not be punished because everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Soon after he stated his thoughts, Roger Williams was banished from the colony. He went off and founded Providence, which was the first village in what is

What Are TheAdvantages And Disadvantages Of I-Voting System Anti phishing I voting system using Visual Cryptography (VC) aims at providing a facility to cast vote for critical and confidential internal corporate decisions. The user or the employee is allowed to cast his or her vote from any remote place. The election is held in full confidentiality where the useris allowed to vote only if he logs into the system by entering the correct password. The password is generated by merging two shares using VC scheme. Before the election administrator sends share 1 to the voter s e mail id and share 2 will be available in the voting system for his login during election. There are different kinds of applications based on the Internet. One of them is online voting system. The use of new technologies to support voting is the subject of great debate. Several people advocate the benefits it can bring such as improved speed and accuracy in counting, accessibility, voting from home and it is also concerned with the risk it poses, such as unequal access, violation to secrecy, anonymity and alteration of the results of an election. Phishing attack is identified as a major attack among all online attacks. Phishing is the attempt to obtain sensitive information such as usernames, passwords, and credit card details (and, indirectly, money), often for malicious reasons, by disguising as a trustworthy entity in an electronic communication. Attacker creates a replica of original website or attacker sends a lot of email to the user asking him to change certain confidential data as shown in Fig 1. User then fills and submits the sensitive and useful information into the fake website which allows the attacker to pull the information and save the data for his or her own illegal use. Indian women s cultural roles have been previously defined by traditional customs that are centuries old and no longer apply in this day and age. Previous to globalization, Indian women were to take total domestic responsibility. They were not allowed formal education as the majority of teachers and pupils were male, and the chances of a female remaining chaste was slim in those settings, and related to tradition, females

Studies confirm a high correlation of 0.6 to 0.8 between vocabulary knowledge and reading comprehension (Baumann Kame enui as cited in Dalton and Grisham, 2011 p. 307). However, the rate at which individual children develop vocabulary knowledge is enormously varied. At 5 years old there is already a 30 million word exposure gap (Hart Risley as cited in Dalton and Grisham, 2011 p. 307). Linguistic morphology, the study of words and word origins, is a significant component of vocabulary learning programs. Children should be actively supplied with multiple exposures to words and exposures in varying contexts. Walbank and Bisby (2016, p. 11) describe how building adjective vocabulary adds dramatically more interest, accuracy and detail to students oral and written language. To encourage this development, students can work in small groups to brainstorm alternative, more interesting words, for commonly used adjectives. For example, replacing the word good with magnificent , superlative or exceptional . This direct vocabulary instruction is essential, but having only explicit teaching is insufficient. Beck et al (2008) estimate that educators can only actively teach 300 400 words per year (as cited in Dalton and Grisham, 2011 p. 307). Peculiar Circumstances Duringthe Baroque Era One of the most important eras in the history of classical music, was undoubtedly the Baroque Era. This period lasted from 1650 to 1750, and largely stemmed from the musical innovations of both Italy and Germany. Through this era, the arrangements such as the concerto and the sonata were produced, as well as mastery of the organ and other instruments. Two of perhaps the most influential artists of this era were Arcangelo Corelli and George Fridric Handel. Before discussing the styles and techniques that emerged and were reformed during the Baroque Period of music, first the cultural background must be discussed. The Baroque Period of Music lasted from 1650 to 1750, and really was heavily influenced by two particular countries: Italy and Germany (Sartorius). In Italy, architecture and the layout of the city of Rome had been completely revived because of the Renaissance period, and this new innovation in architecture inspired music (Sartorius). Musicians aspired to experiment with music, and try new innovations to make their compositions sound fresh and original (Sartorius). Meanwhile, up in Germany, composers were desperate to get in the various courts of royalty that existed at that time, due to the fact that Germany was broken up into many states (Sartorius). If composers could become the court musicians for nobility, it could insure great fame, job security, and profits (Sartorius). Thus, the Baroque period of Music was inspired by architectural advancement in Italy, and

Historical Context OfThe Treaty Of Versailles Treaty of Versailles: Historical Context Ninety eight years ago, after the fighting of World War I subsided, the Treaty of Versailles ( the Treaty ) was signed at the Palace of Versailles in France by the Allied powers and Germany. The compromise of the Treaty is that it ended World War I. The conflict of the Treaty is that it fed the German s hate for the Allied Powers and, in turn, was the cause of World War II. In their hearts was a stern resolution that the fiasco of November 11, 1918, would not be repeated for all serious people in America, as in all nations, remembered that much hailed Versailles Treaty was sown the very seeds of World War II (Library Of Congress. Manzanar free press, November 12, 1942. 1942. Newspaper. Woodrow Wilson , the United States president at the time, also took part in the writing of the Treaty although, out of his fourteen points, only one made it into the Treaty because the European leaders had a different agenda. Germany would also be involved, although not in the writing process, but would be most affected by the provisions of the Treaty. During the signing of the Treaty, the U. The Presidential ElectionOf 1980 Essay On Tuesday, 4 November 1980, The United States presidential election of 1980 was held. The competition was between incumbent Democratic President Jimmy Carter and his opponent, former Californian Republican Governor, Ronald Reagan. Reagan, assisted by a falling economy complicated by inflation and high unemployment, and the Iran hostage crisis, Reagan would win the election in a sweep, receiving the largest number of electoral votes ever tallied by a presidential candidate not currently in office. Jimmy Carter, who beat out Edward M. Kennedy for the nomination for Democratic leader, attacked Reagan as a wild right wing fundamentalist. The former actor, Ronald Reaganpledged to elevate the cynical mood of the nation, and won a conclusive victory. This election marked the creation of what was called the Reagan Revolution, and indicated a conservative repositioning in national government. Throughout the 1970s, the United States underwent a wrenching period of low economic growth, high inflation and interest rates, and intermittent energy crises. In the spring and summer of 1979, inflation was on the rise and various parts of the United States were experiencing energy shortages, Carter was widely blamed and planned on delivering a major speech about energy conservation, but he thought the American public did not care for what he had to say. In the mist of all this, Carter went on the presidential retreat for the bilateral treaty on Camp David. For more than a week, a

Comparing Christian AndAristotelian Views 1.For Aristotle, the contemplative life is directed towards the divine while the practical life is directed towards the human good. In Aristotle, these ways of life are distinct. But the Jewish and Christian faith perspectives create possibilities for a unity between the contemplative and the practical that is not possible from an Aristotelian perspective. Explain. In the Jewish and Christian faiths it is possible to work towards both the divine and human good at the same time. For example, in Luke, there is the parable of the Good Samaritan. This story tells of a traveller who is beaten up on the side of the road. A priest walks by, and then a Levite. Both ignore the beaten man. Then a Samaritan walks by. He assists the man and pays for a place for him to stay. He is loving and saving his neighbor despite traditional rivalry between Jews and Samaritans. By saving his neighbor and loving his neighbor he is loving God. Any person who acts in this way is working towards both divine and human good at the same time. Therefore this parable proves that, unlike in the Aristotelian point of view, in Christian and Jewish faith perspectives it is both possible and probable that positive actions ... These choices showed that the son was clearly not acting in a virtuous manner. The father also made choices in this parable, but his choices would be seen by Aristotle as much more virtuous. He loves his son to such a degree that he is willing to make sacrifices for him. This courage to save his son is relative, however. If someone who did not feel the same connection and love for the boy saved him from his bad decision making, they would be seen as even more virtuous because they are saving someone to whom they have absolutely no

The lack of representation between women, minorities, and the LGBT community is still an issue that needs to be resolved. Just last year after the 2016 Oscars the #OscarsSoWhite hashtag went viral due to the all white nominees. It was clear that the nominations favored more in predominately white actors rather than those of color. However, the difference this year round is remarkable. The Leadership TheoriesOf Leadership Emerging Leadership Theories Leadership has been an emerging topic, where over the last twenty to thirty years research has shown it to be of critical value. According to DeRue (2014), the depth and richness of existing literature has produced an array of important insights about leadership in organizations. While the development of leadership is not just about developing knowledge and skills, it is also about it is also about developing people s motivation to lead, their awareness concerning the risks and rewards coupled with leadership, as well as their identity as leaders, and thought processes on what it means to participate in the a leadership process. With that being said, the servant leader approach places focus on leadership from the leaders point of view, emphasizing their attentiveness on the followers concerns, empowering them, all the while helping them to grow and develop through encouragement (Northouse, 2013). Servant leadership may seem to be contradictory to the norms of leadership; on the contrary, this approach offers a unique perspective on leadership. Servant leadership is based on ethics or the morals and values of the leader who is concerned with placing their attentiveness towards their followers not only on achieving organizational objectives. Although the primary assumption of servant leadership is that if the leader can effectively empower followers, the organization as a whole will accomplish its objectives naturally. Northouse (2013)

Analysis Of ThePoem The Dead McCrea and Cheng have differing views on the role of identity within Joyce s The Dead. McCrea argues that identity is incomplete because of the limitations of language whereas Cheng argues that the cultural atmosphere shapes identity. I, however, agree with certain aspects of both arguments. Firstly, I believe that McCrea s focus on failed communication is needed to understand the nature of identity within The Dead; however, McCrea incorrectly blames everything on the failure of language , when the individual and society is also partly responsible. Therefore, I believe that Cheng s argument, that the environment partly forms identity, is valid; however, he needlessly restricts the Conroys identities by directly comparing them to Britain and Ireland. I will use Cheng s focus on a culturally formed identity in tandem with McCrea s thematic focus on failed communication within The Dead to answer the question of why Gabriel Conroy s identity fades at the end of The Dead (248). To answer this question, I will consider Gabriel s personal thoughts about himself, others, and how he responds to each challenge he receives to his personhood. First, we must discuss the state of Gabriel s identity before it fades. Before it fades, he is misunderstood. This fact is seen when Gabriel has a conversation with Lily. During this conversation, Gabriel exclaims that I suppose we ll be going to your wedding one of these fine days with your young man (197). Lily responds, with great

Summary Of ThePoem To A Mouse In the poem To a Mouse by Robert Burns, the little mouse plans to build a home but gets destroyed by the farmer with the plow. Similarly, in the novel Of Mice and Men by Steinbeck, George, and Lennie s dream of owning a farm gets destroyed by Curley. In the poem To a Mouse by Burns, the speaker writes an apology to the mouse for the way it gets treated by humans. The speaker describes the mouse as a sleek, tiny, timorous, cowering beast that is running away from humans. He tells the mouse that he does not need to run away from him. He says to the mouse, why dash away, so quick, so rash, in a frenzied flash when I would be loath to run after you . The speaker means no harm but the mouse s first instinct is to run when he sees humans because he expects to get chased by humans. The speaker understands the reasons for the mouse sometimes stealing food. The narrator says I have no doubt you sometimes shiver; What of it, friend? You too must live! He knows that the mouse must find a way to get food, so it can survive. The little mouse had a home built to keep warm but the farmer with the plow unintentionally destroyed its home. When apologizing to the mouse the speaker says Your tiny house lies in a ruin, its fragile walls and rent and strewn! Now nothing s left to build you a new one of mosses green. The mouse plans to have a home for winter gets destroyed. The farmer destroying the mouse s home shows that dreams and plans can be destroyed by something or someone.

Analysis Of ThePoem Fandom Of The Walking Dead For my ethnography project, I chose to study the fandom of The Walking Dead. For the purpose of this paper, I will refer to The Walking Dead as a comic, a video game, and a TV series. Others who are not fans may recognize the visually and narrative of zombiefilms, in the horror genre after 1968 s Night of the Living Deadand Dawn of the Dead. The series popularity raises the ethnographic question of, why people are drawn to this particular tale and fandom community. The Walking Dead fandom perhaps on some levels harbors a deep seated fascination with macabre that has often been projected onto the imagination of supernatural creatures. The Theatre OfThe Absurd Analysis The Theatre of the Absurd is a collection of plays written after World War II that were considered of having ridiculous and random ideals. Many of these plays came from Europe, including Rhinoceros by Ionesco. In Rhinoceros, the main character Berenger is a man who is not keeping up with himself and is having a midlife crisis. Everyone else in the town is living a normal life when the townspeople start to turn into rhinoceroses. With his differentness and being so out of place, he is the only one left as a human over a rhinoceros. Now that Berenger wants to be like everyone else and turn into a rhinoceros, he cannot because of his major differences. In the play, Rhinoceros, different aspects of the Theatre of the Absurdcome through in the crazy storyline created by Ionesco. No communication and no logic are two of the aspects of the absurdwriting concepts during this time period. One of the absurd aspects of no communication is found through the lines of the play. No communication is one of the absurdist aspects in the play Rhinoceros that reoccurs throughout the storyline. Towards the beginning of the play, the characters find that a rhinoceros is trampling through the town. The housewife finds that her cat has been trampled on by the strange creature, and is very upset. She wails to the others: It ran over my cat, it ran over my cat! (Ionesco 26). Everyone responds back to her: Poor little thing! (Ionesco 26). Even though the cat has been trampled over and is dead,

Who Is NathanielHawthorne s Fixation Class Presentation On May 19th, 1864 in Plymouth, Massachusetts, Nathaniel Hawthorne, author of such stories as The Scarlet Letter, Young Goodman Brown, and The Birthmark dies of an unknown cause. He was 59 years old. During the latter part of his life the once active Hawthorne s health began to decline for mysterious reasons. He wrote little during the final years of his life, and what he did write was often little more than incoherent babbling. Think about what Georgiana is meant to symbolize. A beautiful creation marred by one thing. Sound familiar? It should because she represents you and me and everyone on earth. No man or woman (threw that in for the feminists) is or ever will be perfect. Now, think about the birthmark. It symbolizes our sin and our imperfections, inescapable realities. The birthmark, like our sin, cannot be removed. It is attached to us. It is part of us. That is why when Alymer attempts to remove it, Georgiana dies in the process. Even Alymer himself is a testament to our imperfection. Consider, had Alymer been perfect, Georgiana never would have died. The operation would have gone perfectly. There are other examples, the flower withering at Georgiana s touch. A testament to the evil we all have within ourselves. These same themes can be seen in some of Hawthorne s other works as well. In Young Goodman Brown the title character attends a witches meeting in Salem, Massachusetts. The evil of humanity appears when everyone the town is also at the same meeting. Brown s own sin is evident again later when he is judging all the people who were at the meeting. He even becomes delusional, fearing that the roof of the church will collapse and kill everyone inside, including himself. Quite

That s the cooking of the meat, and the soaking of the corn husks. These steps take time and if you don t allow for them, they ll throw off your whole day. Let s start with cooking the meat. The best way to do this is the night before tamale day. You ll need two large pots. Cut the pork roast into 5 or 6 large chunks. Place the chicken in one pot and the roast in the other and cover both with water. This is also a fun place to throw in some garlic cloves, onion slices, or anything else you think might serve the meat well. Bring to a boil. The chicken will be done in about 2 hours, the roast will need at least 2 ВЅ hours. While the meats are cooking (if you re doing this all in one day), start soaking the Corn Husks. You need to soak them submerged in warm water for at least 2 hours to make them soft and pliable. When the meats are done, let them cool in their liquid. If you have enough refrigerator space, you can place them and their pots in the fridge overnight. This will not only cool the meat, but also solidify the fat on top, making it easier to remove. Remove both meats from their stock, but save the stock! This is a key ingredient later on. Now take the skin from the chicken and debone it shredding the meat with your fingers. Shred the pork in a similar fashion while discarding as much fat out of the meat as possible. Combine both of the meats. In a small pot on the stove, warm 1/2 C of Corn Oil 6 Tbsp Chili

Some people believe that owning of weapons such as guns is good because it will help them against criminals while others feel that they should be banned. However, in June 2008, in the case of District of Columbia v. Heller, the United States Supreme Court ruled that people were allowed to keep guns for self defense (Neily III, 2010). This was one of the most important rulings on gun rights since the adoption of Second Amendment in 1791 on Bill of Rights. In addition, the court also agreed that the Second Amendment laws demand states to allow people to use firearms outside their homes. Furthermore, it was held that it is not necessary for a state to enact laws that will ensure that the guns will be carried when they are concealed (Woodruff, 2014). The court also recommended the need for amending these laws so that they will stop conflicting with the

Traditional Gender RolesIn Society Imagine a world that s been evolved enough to forget traditional gender roles. A world where people break from the molds and liberate themselves. That would be progressive and productive. That is the kind of world that the future of our people should strive for. Maybe there was a time that the human race needed these roles to establish themselves, but now the times have changed. One by one, the stigmas are breaking. Despite this, some molds are harder to break and need a little more cracking to release the people from that specific roles. There are many categories of which gender and culture can be dissected and redirected to a more progressive outlook. (may have to take that out) To go into specifics, traditional gender roles in the United States are inhibiting the progression of equal wages, social expectations, and self acceptance. For decades, America has upkept traditional gender roles. For example, one would have seen a family consisting of a man and woman and a child or two. The man would go to work and ultimately be the sole breadwinner of the family whilst the woman would take care of the children. Her job would also entail cleaning the home and providing supper for her family when her husband arrived home. Men would be thought to fix cars and build things whilst females were given baby dolls and taught how to become a good mom. Men are taught to toughen up and to stop crying. Often times, they aren t consoled properly if they do happen to show any emotion that

Metacarpal Veins The systemiccirculation consists of the arterial and the venous systems. Arteries are a high pressure system and a pulse can be palpated. The muscle layer in arteries is stronger and they will not collapse like veins. Arteries are also deeper than veins and are surrounded by nerve endings, making arterial puncture painful. The venous system consists of superficial and deep veins. The superficial or cutaneous veins are those used for venipuncture. Because thrombosis of the superficial veins of the lower extremities can easily extend to the deep veins, it is important to avoid the use of these veins. Superficial veins are bluish in color. The Entertainment Software Association estimates that around 60% of Americans, around 145 million people in all, currently play some type of video game. According to CBS News, massive multinational companies such as Fidelity Investments, Royal Dutch Shell, and Coca Cola have invested millions in video game training materials in courses. The fact that such profitable and successful companies have been willing to not only test these methods, but continue to invest millions of dollars in using them to train their personnel, is a testament to the effectiveness of how video games can improve communication skills. Government officials convinced that influenza would appear with the outbreak of World War II, established the Commission on Influenzaof the United States Army Epidemiological Board to provide technical advice and commence work on an effective vaccine. The heightened political attention to the threat of infectious diseases prompted the passage of new legislation that grants governments extended powers intervention (and ownership) by central governments in health care services, and resulted in millions of dollars worth

Symphony Orchestra Analysis Asymphony is an extended classical composition for an orchestra, found in Western Art Music. It often consists of four separate and unique, sections known as movements which are, in some way however, related to one another. The symphony as a genre began developing during the late 17th century and continued to do so up until the late 18th century. This important genre of Western Art Music is closely related to the development of the orchestra. It is therefore critical, in understanding the symphony, to investigate the development of the orchestra. In the stretch of a hundred years, the orchestra underwent considerable change in developing into the standard symphony orchestra of the modern age. This orchestra was by far the largest of its kind in the area, and boasted many of the greatest virtuosi of the time. Upon Mozart s first visit to Mannheim in 1763, the orchestra made a huge impression on him. Besides a large orchestra, symphonies included various specific musical features and techniques, that had become trademarks of the style developed in Manheim. One Manheim composer in particular had a large impact on the orchestra and the symphony. His name is Jan Vaclav Antonin Stamic (1717 1757) (Germanized to Johann Wenzel Anton Stamitz). He started writing orchestral works to be independent works in their own right. Orchestras no longer needed to accompany vocal genres to attain any meaning. This paved the way for what was to become known as abstract music. Stamitz wrote 58 symphonies in his lifetime, and numerous conciertos. He expanded the orchestra, with woodwinds starting to play an essential role in the orchestral timbre. The orchestra was no longer made up simply of a haphazard group of instruments, but was starting to take a fixed formal shape. Along with his contributions to the expansion of the orchestra he also adopted the formal structure of four movements for the symphony and started using a distinct development section in the first movements, which became known as sonata form. The opening movement is fast, followed by a slow second movement, the third movement would be a minuet and trio, and the fourth would end the symphony on a final Presto or Prestissimo

Ideology Was MoreImportant Than Culture and Religion for... Ideology was more important than culture and religion for the growth of nationalist movements in the period before WWII. How far do you agree? Colonial rule had brought about many significant impacts in South East Asian countries which included many dissatisfactions among the natives. Thus, this brought about the rise of nationalist movements. There are many reasons to why there was a development of these movements and the two main reasons for this cause was ideology as well as religion and culture. The spread of ideology such as Marxism and communism and the preservation of culture and religion were one of the main factors as to why nationalist movements were widespread in the period before WWII. The growth of nationalism refers to how... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These movements were not able to adapt or change its methods to cater to the needs of the locals and causing their support to decrease in the long run. This shows that there was limited growth of nationalism in the movements based on religion and culture. For instance, SI was led by two factions, one by Agus Salim and the other by the radical political party led by the ISDV. In 1918, when the Dutch sensed the radicalization in the SI, many supporters withdrew their support from the party. This caused the SI to ban joined membership in SI and other communist organisations which was based on ideology. This shows that movements that are based on religion did not grow and failed to become more radicalized which was essential for the growth of nationalism especially where colonial rule was suppressive. Thus, from here it shows that religion does not play a significant role in the growth of nationalist movements as compared to ideology. Ideology on the other hand was more broad and more all encompassed than religion and culture. This helped garner more support in the long run and also led to the growth of national movement despite suppression from colonial powers. These movements are also able to manipulate situations of hardships to their advantage such as the Great Depression and its detrimental effects of the locals. Movements based on ideologies are more flexible and are able to maneuver its methods to suit the needs of their people and also deter suppression
