Introduction Of Polonius In Hamlet
The introduction of Polonius in Hamlet is one of an elderly chief counselor to the king of Denmark,
but as his character develops, we see him evolve into a manipulator who worries about his self image
and how his family might jeopardize that; one would say Polonius fears being a simple man and will
sacrifice anything for status. As more events develop throughout the play Polonius turns into this
ruthless politician that won t stop at anything in order to manipulate and keep his status in the
kingdom; Polonius as the brilliant mastermind that he is, is always on the prowl for any information
he can get his hands on; he sleeps with one eye open and an ear on the ground. Polonius uses all this
information at the right moments to create his narrative.
Polonius is cleric who worries about his son Laertes s possible behavior, and how his son s behavior
might reflect bad on him. In previous acts Polonius gives Laertes sound advice so he doesn t go
embarrassed himself when he gets to France. Polonius worries about his son s behavior and is
intrigued to find out what he is up to. He calls to his servant Reynaldo and sets him with a task; to
inquire on his son s behavior before meeting him. In act II is clear that Polonius worries about one
thing only, and that s the reputation his son might be getting in France: inquire me first what Danskers
are in Paris, /and how, what means, and where they /keep, / what company, at what expense; and
finding /by this encompassment and drift of

Water Problems in Texas Essay
Texas, with its abundances of natural resources, is facing a new demon, one that doesn t even seem
possible, a shortage of water. Water, without it nothing can survive. Texas is the second largest state
for landmass in the nation and ninth for water square miles. Within the borders of Texas are more than
100 lakes, 14 major rivers, and 23 aquifers, so why has water become such an important issue for the
state? Politicians and conservationists all agree that without a new working water plan, the state could
be facing one of the most damaging environmental disasters they have ever seen. The issues that shape
the states positions are population growth, current drought conditions, and who actually owns the
water.

A study done by the Pew Hispanic Center in 2010 listed more 1.7 million undocumented residents
living in the state of Texas. (Tannahill) The population growth rate, whether by legal or illegal means
is only one of the issues that has been troubling state law makers and affecting the state s water plan.
The second issue that is affecting Texas water is the drought conditions that the state is currently
suffering from.
Since 1990 Texas has seen a trend towards warmer and drier summers than usual. Texas which
geographically sits in the south central part of the United States with an extensive border with the Gulf
of Mexico gets its weather patterns from both the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. Researchers have
shown that warmer than normal temperatures in the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans often lead to drier
than normal summers. The research also shows that these trends will last for more than 20 to 25 years.
Since we have been in this weather pattern since 1990, (Hembreee), hopefully we are nearing the end
of the dry cycle. However, Mother Nature is never predictable. Meteorologists are only able to
speculate about a week in advanced with any certainty. The eastern Pacific Ocean cycles between
three phases, the three phases are El Nino, La Nina, and Neutral phase. La Nina is cooling of the sea
surface temperatures and tends to bring more rain into the Gulf of Mexico and Texas. On the opposite

My First Intercultural Awareness Activity Essay
For my first Intercultural Awareness activity, I chose to listen to the BBC World Report every day for
a week. I listened to BBC from September 7 through September 13. I listened to an hour report each
day, culminating in 7 hours of intercultural awareness. Because of the lengths of the podcasts, I chose
to focus on the main issue that was presented in the podcast.
I listened to the 1st podcast September 7, 2016. It was on an issue that has risen in Ukraine between
two orthodox churches, the Ukrainian Orthodox church of Moscow and the Ukrainian Orthodox
church of Kiev. In a small village in Ukraine called Pticha had the members of the UOM barricade
themselves into their church, forcing those who were associated with the UOK to worship off of the
property. The conflict was supposedly caused because of the political conflict that is happening
between Russia and Ukraine. The leaders of the Ukrainian church of Moscow believes that the
members of the church of Kiev are being too political. They say this because the members of the
church of Kiev are saying that those involved in the Moscow church are not true patriots of Ukraine.
The reporter asked one of the leaders of the church of Moscow if Russia was pressuring them in any
of their actions against the church of Kiev. The leader said that Ukrainian orthodox church is
autonomous. He stated that [The Ukrainian Orthodox church of Moscow] is absolutely independent in
all areas of the church ... No one in Russia is giving me

Disability Reflection
Prior to the course, Perspectives on disability, my understanding of disability was a fundamental,
concept of disability, in which I knew it existed, and also have seen and interacted with people
considered to have a disability. I never took a deep look at all the social and political factors that exist
within the spectrum of disability. This course has allowed me to examine all aspects of disability,
which has changed my view and approach of what a disability is and how it is viewed. Historically,
disability has been viewed fundamentally as a persoal tragedy, which has resulted in diasbled people
being seen as objects of pity or in need of charity. They have been subject to descriminatory policies
and practices in which the predominant images of passivity and helplesness reinforced their inferior
status (Barton 4). Uncovering the framework of disability, by studying the historical, soicial political
and educational standpoint, I see the intricacies in which gives me a greater understanding and
awareness of the topic. In a me driven society we often don t take the time, to look at life through a
different lens other than what you may personally experience on a daily basis. In striving for a more
perfect society we must be able to do just that, try to see life from other people s perspectives, to try to
envision what life might be like for people who face an onslaught of racism, sexism, all the isms you
can think of. in a societal construct in, which is designed for a few. People with disabilities are
constantly being discriminated upon even though there a law in place, in attempts to bring equality for
all. Eventhough I believe it s necessary to be cognizant of other peoples experiences, and not judging
people from the surface. In the same light people with disabilities don t often view themselves as
being disabled. For eample many disabled people do not consider their disability a flaw or personal
deficit with good reason. They are comfortable with who they are, and they do not wish to be fixed or
cured (Disablity Theory4). Through this course study, including course readings and classroom
discussions, has allowed me to view disability with a whole new scope and perspectives. It may sound

Conscience In John Steinbeck s Of Mice And Men
This quote shows that your conscience is always with you. He hears a heartbeat and assumes that it is
the old man s heart beating faster, because he is scared. The heartbeat that he is hearing is not the old
man s, it is his conscience trying to tell him that he is not doing a good deed. Even though he did not
kill the old man yet, his conscience knows that he is about to. So, his conscience is giving him
warning signals to stop what he is doing.
This quote shows that the man is scared of how the old man s eye looks. He is mad that the eye is
scary and he can t stand looking at it. His conscience is wanting to make him feel scared of the eye. If
he is scared of the eye, then he wouldn t get any ideas about harming the old man.

His conscience knew that he could try to make the man go crazy because normal people aren t able to
hear a heartbeat. He was very persistent in wanting to kill the old man, so even the heartbeat that he
was hearing wasn t able to stop him.
This shows that he was starting to feel really guilty, he thought that the police might have known what
he actually did. His conscience made him feel that way so that he would be exposed for doing
something wrong. He lied to the police and killed a man, his conscience makes him feel this way so
that he would correct what he did and pay for it. This quote shows that he still hears the heartbeat even
though the old man is dead. He still believes that the heart is the old man s and doesn t consider that it
could be his. His conscience makes him able to hear the old man s heartbeat. The man thinks that
since he killed the old man, the heartbeat would go away, but it doesn t. His inner voice was
reminding him what he felt, and that is what the old man is feeling right now. He knows what that
feels like, even though he hasn t done anything wrong yet, his conscience is trying to stop him from

Essay On How Did The Fall Of The Roman Empire
Could the same mistakes that caused the collapse of Rome happen today in America? The Roman
Empire was founded in 753 BCE by Romulus, and it encompassed most of Europe, Britain, western
Asia, northern Africa and the Mediterranean islands. The Roman Empire prospered and grew for many
years and it was the largest city in the world, it was doing very well until it started to face challenges.
The Roman Empire started to deteriorate and over a period of time, the cities were left in ruins. The
Roman Empire fell for many reasons, the three that affected them the most was the excessive military
spending to defend the empire, barbarian invasions, and urban decay. The extreme amount of money
that was spent on the Roman military was one of the main reasons that Rome to fail. Rome had ample
land from Europe to Asia and they thought that it was vital for them to expand their empire. The
civilizations around Rome did not want Rome to take over them, ... Show more content on

Rome at one point was flourishing and it had many apartments and workplaces but the rent became
very high and the buildings slowly started to decrease. This caused for people to become poor and
there to be more people out of work. Rent became very high and anyone who could not afford to pay
was forced to move out and live on the crime infested streets. Because so many people lived on the
streets, the number of cities began to decline. Also, the unemployed, poor people crowded into the
cities and lived off of the government. The emperor was forced to feed these people and this was very
expensive for Rome. Rome needed to get the economy back to being stable but, instead, the economy
got worse and more Romans became poor and homeless. Rome s government should have come up
with a solution to the diminishing of their cities. Rome s economy was vital to Rome not collapsing
but, the government never got around to a solution so instead, the cities became

Marcel Duchamp, Fountain
Marcel Duchamp | Fountain All in all, the creative act is not performed by the artist alone; the
spectator brings the work in contact with the external world by deciphering and interpreting its inner
qualification .. Do you know, which artist could have said this? That was a citation of Marcel
Duchamp, one of the most important artists of the 20th century. In the next few minutes I will give
you some informations about the person, who said this quite interesting words. Duchamp s life Marcel
Duchamp was a French Painter, Object Artist and Media performer. Henri Robert Marcel Duchamp

Duchamp s readymades are often coincided with Dada, but they are not really Dada. He insisted, that
this aspect of his work was parallel, but not directly influenced by Dada. Étant donnés (1946 1966)
Étant donnés is Duchamp s last major work. It was produced in secrecy over 20 years. Étant donnés
may therefore be considered to be Duchamp s artistic testament, his conclusion to art. The work
presents the viewer with a massive wooden door. If you examine it closely, you will find two
peepholes. Behind the door is a picture, in which you can see a naked woman lyingin the grass. In this
work for example you can see surrealistic features. Ready mades Definition Coined by Duchamp, the
term „Ready made came to designate mass produced everyday objects taken out of their usual context
and raised to the status of artworks by the mere choice of the artist. A performative act as much as a
stylistic category, the readymade had far reaching effect for what can legitimately be considered an
object of art. Fountain The Fountain is one of his first and most notorious Ready mades and it is one
of Duchamp s most famous work of art, although it is also a very controversial piece of art. It is a

looking for anyone I know or can talk to, my eyes was searching all over the place. A pretty blond girl
standing alone was a scene that, for sure, attracted my attention then. The moment my eyes saw her,
my mind started thinking of ways to talk to her. After some time wasted thinking, I saw a girl I know
approaching the blond. Not willing to waste such opportunity, I marched forward toward them. We

In April 1996, the US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) brought a suit seeking
damages of as much as $300 thousands per women on behalf of 300 female plant employees. The suit
came after 15 month investigations of several sexual harassments complaints at MMMA.
Men vs. Women The idea of different subcultures for males and females, although they live in the
same country, taught the same values, and eat the same food, is not new. Although men and women
live under the same conditions, they are expected to behave and respond differently. Thus as Maltz
puts it: The different social needs of men and women have led them to sexually differentiated
communication cultures, with each sex learning a different set of skills for manipulating words (Maltz,
p.200). Maltz explains this by saying that each one of us learns his communication culture through the
period of, approximately, age 5 to 15, when boys and girls interact socially primarily with members of
their own sex . Not only boys and girls learn to respond differently, but they learn, self consciously, to
differentiate, with exaggeration, their behavior from the other sex (Maltz, p.203). If we talk in terms of
Hofstede four dimensions of cultural differences, then American men culture could be described a
culture that

Dramatic Devices In A View From The Bridge
A View from the Bridge is a modern drama written by Arthur Miller in 1955 . Miller understands, and
therefore uses many different techniques to create a sense of tragedy in most of his plays including a
View from the Bridge. The playwright uses both dialogue and stage directions to get across feelings of
sadness and empathy from the reader, despite the morally corrupt theme.
The play begins with a full page of stage directions. The setting is warm and homely, and the viewer
understands that the residents are not rich, as they live in a block of flats. Subconsciously, this
automatically arouses sympathy from the viewer. Most of the play takes place inside one room, which
rapidly creates an environment that breeds tension, as it seems to all ... Show more content on

The relationship between Eddie and Beatrice changes in a number of ways throughout the play. At the
beginning, they appear to have a loving relationship You re an angel! . Soon, however, the relationship
s shiny and happy exterior begins to crack as Beatrice asks when am I going to be a wife again? . This
quote suggests that Beatrice knows that Eddie s feelings are straying elsewhere. She also mentions
that it s been three months . Eddie takes this as an insult to his masculinity and quiets her, telling her I
got nothin to say about it! This short scene shows the lack of communication going on between the
couple. The ill fated marriage creates a sense of tragedy as, once again, Eddie does not realise the pain
and suffering he is imposing on others, in this case his wife. We understand that Beatrice needs Eddie
more than Eddie needs her throughout most of the play, until the very last moments when Eddie calls
out My B! and Beatrice replies Yes, yes! before her husband dies in her arms. The rapid, dramatic and
tragic interaction between the two shows Eddie ask for forgiveness and Beatrice grant him it. Like in
many tragedy, the protagonist realises his mistake too

Cosmetic Surgery is a high involvement service. People are sceptic about using this product and the
common man feels like it is a service to be availed by actors, models and TV Stars. Contrary to that
opinion there are other people who would go in for a cosmetic surgery to look better and feel good
about themselves. This is a service availed by the Upper Middle, Lower Upper and Upper Upper class.
Sex Appeal: Sex appeal is used by the usage of sexual themes and sexually attractive models. Since
people often face mid life crisis, and are left feeling old and bereft of sexual desire, a sexually
attractive message would be ideal for a cosmetic surgery advertisement thus making the consumer feel
wanted, beautiful, young, loved and thus it helps the consumer feel like he or she is capable of making
love.

Obasan Joy Kogawa Analysis
Obasan, written by, Joy Kogawa, is a novel that highlights the experiences of the Canadian Japanese
residents during WW2. Inspired to write based on her personal experience, Kogawa does an amazing
job in displaying the hardships that the Japanese Canadian s had gone through. Two of the major
themes that I believe arise in the novel are, silence and memory. At first, Obasan appears as a novel
that tells people about the dangers of silence and it comes as a warning to the readers about the
consequences of remaining quiet. Naomi s family is displayed as a humble quiet family that accepts
the Canadian governments rules and regulations. Yet, their humbleness doesn t make their experience
any better than the rest of the Japanese residents. Rather, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Silence protects Obasan from the greater society. Obasan hears less and says little, making her
immune in a way to the racist remarks and thoughtless comments that surround her. Rough Lock Bill,
who s one of the most admirable characters within the novel actually praises Naomi for her silence.
Bill states that excessive talking is often self centred. His words are very crucial and hold a lot of
weight because apart from Naomi s family, Bill is the only white trustworthy adult in Naomi s life.
Memory is needed in order to form a sense of individuality. Without memory, civilizations would not
be able to progress and expand. In the novel, Obasan, we get to see that based on memory, there s a
spectrum that is formed. On one side, we have Uncle and Obasan who believe that the past remains
there. On the other end is aunt Emily, she believes that only by discussing and expressing past events
we can ensure that they never happen again and that these events mark a place in history. Right in the
middle of the spectrum, I would say is where Naomi falls. Naomi is confused between her past and
thinking that reminiscing about it will only hurt

Fibromyalgia is hell on earth for the millions of those suffering around the world, and while there is

fibromyalgia was labeled as fibrositis, (First labeled by Gowers in 1904), and later rheumatism, etc,

What causes fibromyalgia? The history of fibromyalgia is truly very sad as this disease although very
old has only recently received the attention needed to find the cause. Additional historical facts
regarding fibromyalgia include:
1) Historically fibromyalgia has been considered either a neuropsychiatric or musculoskeletal
condition.
2) Additional early names for fibromyalgia included muscular rheumatism, psychogenic rheumatism,
and neurasthenia among others.
3) The term fibromyalgia came from researcher Mohammed Yunis as a synonym for fibrositis, and
was first used in 1981.
4) In 1987 an article first used

Bilingualism
What does it mean to be bilingual? Is it as simple as having the ability to speak two languages? Or
does it have a deeper meaning? Martin Espada and Richard Rodriguez have opposite views on the
concept of bilingualism. Espada feels Latinos have the right to speak Spanish anywhere, considering
language is intertwined with identity. Conversely, Rodriguez believes that to truly understand a
language, you must forget the language that is already known to feel accepted in society. These ideas,
similar to mine are not as simple as speaking two languages. To me the idea of bilingualism is
respecting the two languages that are spoken by having the courage to speak them anywhere, at
anytime. According to Martin Espada the idea of bilingualism is way deeper than just speaking two
languages. Being bilingual to Espada means that both the languages spoken are intertwined with
identity. This claim is constructed in his essay The New Bathroom Policy at English High School. He
informs us of what he has learned about bilingual people in America: I have never met a single person
who didn t want to learn English. What they want to do is retain their language, culture and identity
(Espada 164 167). English is a powerful language in America, the Latinos that reside there feel that
learning English could jeopardize their ability to speak Spanish. Moreover, Espada also uses an
experience he had at META, in which the goal was to stop English from becoming the official
language in

Essay on Remember the titans Informal Roles of Characters
Remember The Titans was a movie that was set in a very hostile time in our country. We were in the
middle of what I like to call a civil war. Although there were no battles or gunfights our country was
torn in half. There was an issue dealing with race in the United States. The movie, Remember the
Titans is based on actual events that occurred in the year 1971. Mainly on the integration of a school
called TC Williams High School. When the school was integrated the old football coach, Coach Yoast,
was let go and a black coach Herman Boone was hired on. The main plot of this movie is regarding
the coaching change in the school and the 1971 football season the TC Williams Titans have. nbsp;

Leadership is shown in many ways in the movie and leadership is represented through main
characters. Coach Boone first of all represents the entire black community overcoming the oppression
that they have experienced through all of the years. He exhibits the determination that is inside all of
the players to win the state championship nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp;Of course the coach is going to
be the team leader but the kids also need a peer to step up and be a leader. In a not so informal role
Gerry Bertier rises to the challenge and establishes himself as the team leader. He shows us this a few
times in the movie. Once when he approaches one of the other players, Julius Campbell, and asks him
why he is playing so selfish. Gerry then listens to his teammate s opinion and acts accordingly to do
what is best for the team, because that is what leaders do, even if it mean calling out his best friend
and making him step it up. Gerry also represents the inspiration of the team because every time the
team is down he picks them up and brings them together. nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp;Another
important role that is established by one of the players is the role of the magnet that finally brings the
black kids and the white kids together. This role is taken on by Louie Lastik. He takes this role when
he s the first one to approach the other black kids and make friends with them. He shows us his role
when he sits down net to the black kids

Cesar Franck Writing Style
César Franck was one of the most sought after and remarkable composers of the 19th century. Born in
Liège in 1822, Franck received his musical instruction at the age of eight at Liège Conservatoire. In
1834, he gave the first public concert in Liège. After moving to Paris in 1835, Frank entered the
Conservatoire where he studied counterpoint with Leborne and piano with Zimmermann. It was
during his student years at the Paris Conservatoire which Franck composed his first serious works,
three trios for piano, violin and cello, that foreshadows his late style music, concluding the early use
of cyclic form. In 1858, Franck was appointed as an organist at Sainte Clotilde, which leads to his
combinations of organ techniques reflected in his late ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The chorale fulfilled the lack of cantabile and sustained melody, the chorale served as the relieve from
the rush of the Prelude and lead to the Fugue. Franck gave to the Prelude Chorale et Fugue the sense
of being grounded in baroque practice. His inspirations were Bach, Beethoven s sonatas, Schumann s
Symphonic Etudes, and Liszt s Weinen Klagen variations. There is a close reflection of Wagner s
Parsifal in the melody of the chorale. The Prelude, Chorale, and Fugue, in its basic ideas, as well as
their technical expression for the instrument...wielded a powerful influence over the rising generation
of composers in offering them a kind of ideal to follow, a complete expression of the ideals that were
opposed fundamentally to the superficial music then in popular favour. In d Indy s biography of his
teacher, he tells us of Franck s sudden interest in the piano and how he came to write the Prelude,
Chorale, and Fugue: César Franck, struck by the lack of serious works in this style, set to work with
a youthful fervour which belied his sixty years to try if he could not adapt the old aesthetic forms to
the new technique of the piano, a problem which could only be solved by some considerable

Life In The 1970 s
Imagine the worse time in your life, the time when you felt hopeless and were searching for answers
as to why you were so miserable, why was each day getting worse instead of better? This is what it
was like almost every day for the people living in the 1970 s. The 1970 s was a period of devastation
and desperation which led the citizens of the United States to seek help and comfort from outside
sources, which led to even more devastation for some people who chose to be in groups that made
their problems worse. A lot of people in the 1970 s gave up on hope and happiness, feeling that as time
went on, life would get worse; this is when they turned to religion. Religion started to spread like wild

other religious movements in some ways, but it was definitely the deadliest. There were other
religious movements that ended similarly to Peoples Temple, but the number of people effected was
much lower, such as the group Heavens Gate. The 1970 s was a very rough time for many people, it
made people feel hopeless, which is when they started to search for other answers. When people
joined a religious movement, such as People s Temple, they probably saw it as a light at the end of the

Canada s Contribution To Multiculturalism
Canada is a country that is known globally as being accepting of all through it s efforts in
multiculturalism, a safe place to live for all, and a supportive country to it s citizens in need. When
you examine the history of Canada you can find both good examples to support the statements above
as well as examples where Canada has missed the mark, especially when you consider the acceptance
of First Nation s people and their contribution to multiculturalism. On August 22, 1914 Canada
enacted the War Measures Act. When Great Britain entered World War One and with Canada being a
part of Britain s sovereign nation there was concerns about citizens with enemy nationalities (Breti,

The Importance Of The Tet Offensive In The Vietnam War
In late January of 1968, during the Vietnamese lunar new year known as Tet, the North Vietnamese
launched a coordinated series of attacks on cities and outposts in South Vietnam. The attack, which
went on to be known as the Tet Offensive, was an attempt from the Viet Cong to spark a rebellion in
South Vietnam and to send a stark message to United States, advising them to limit their involvement
in the conflict. Although U.S. and South Vietnamese troops were able to hold off some of the attacks,
the Tet Offensive was still a victory for the Viet Cong despite having received numerous casualties.
The Tet Offensive marked a turning point for the Viet Cong in the Vietnam war, with the attack
beginning the United States long withdraw from the country. Due to news coverage of the attack being
broadcasted on American television, public support for the war began to deteriorate, leading to more
people wanting for an end to the conflict. North Vietnamese Commander General Vo Nguyen Giap
had chosen the Vietnamese holiday, which occurs on January 31st, to break the stalemate in the war.
Giap believed that a coordinated attack would cause an unstable Army of the Republic of Vietnam
(ARVN) to collapse. He also hoped that this collapse would lead to chaos and a rebellion amongst
South Vietnamese citizens. The main reason for Giap s attack; however, was an attempt to cripple the
fragile relationship between the United States and South Vietnam. By the late 1960s, the strong

Quest For An Earthly Paradise And The Anticipation Of A...
Lamentation and Hope in the Depiction of Paradise
The quest for an earthly paradise and the anticipation of a heavenly one is a drive that has always
prevailed in humankind s search for God and redemption from the original sin. The desire for a
terrestrial manifestation of paradise, a so called lost origin is predominantly reflected in writers
depictions of the fall of man. This can be seen in Milton s Paradise Lost and Lucy Hutchinson s Order
and Disorder. Both these epic poems at times magnify the sadness and gravity of the loss of a
paradisal home in which Adam and Eve as our fore parents dwelt under God s close guidance and
love. The fascination with Eden s bliss is manifested in Adam and Eve s admiration, however it also
extends to Satan s various instances of questioning his own actions in the shadow of such beauty.
Perhaps crucial to both interpretations of the fall of man is that the knowledge gained from the
forbidden fruit is the realization of loss, the sudden true appreciation of the beauty of a paradise that is
now lost. On the other hand the promise of redemption is provided through God s mercy in Death,
thus allowing for a hope and anticipation of a heavenly paradise. This portrayal of a merciful God in
Paradise Lost and Order and Disorder, grows out of man s search for redemption and a desire to be
united with God in a heavenly paradise. Nostalgia and anticipation of paradise thus manifest through
the lamentations of loss and mercy in death

The male birth control may possibly deliver a contraception substitute for many intentions. Elaine
Lissner founded the Male Contraceptive Information Project (MCIP) in the late 1980 s to track
progress and raise awareness of male contraception.
If you have 10 percent (or even 1 percent of men using contraceptive method, you can make a huge
difference in unintended pregnancy, says Lissner. You also get a lot of women out from under a lot of
side effects from hormonal methods (Mack 2011). In my own person opinion I believe the millennial
generation is more welcoming to having positive forms of male contraceptive presented for the near
feature. These days equal responsibilities are being implemented by more couples as times have
changed the outcomes are now affecting the birth control marketplace. There has been foundation
funding RISUG (aka Vasa Gel) developing in hopes for this long term reversible male birth control
option (Watson and Conger). The new gel form contraceptive that profoundly lowers sperm count is
currently in progress. The procedure involves making a small incision in each scrotum through which
the small vas deferens duct is pulled for the direct injections. So far RISUG has proven to be effective,
safe and reversible with a second injection (Mack 2011). Also there are other methods that are also
being developed such as Plant based pill which are non hormonal options, dry orgasm pill based on
medications that restrict sperm from becoming semen thus orgasm occurs but ejaculation does not.

The Hindu deity Varahi and Opening Mouth Ceremony from the Book of the Dead are figurative,

fertility as well, a mother can be protective over its baby (the bull) and loving and nurturing (the

Condom Use A Method Of Birth Control
Condom Use a Method of Birth Control Introduction
The purpose of this instrument is to evaluate a health belief model based on condom use intervention
targeting undergraduate students. Research studies have been done to measure the number of people
who use condoms as a form of contraception (Moore Melkote, 2009). Research studies show condom
use and other prevention methods can reduce the spread of sexually transmitted diseases (STD), and
protect against pregnancy (Moore Melkote, 2009). HIV/AIDS Risk among College Students in the
United States was a study similar to the instrument survey I created. The study focused on the
correlation between condom use and the use of other forms of birth control at last intercourse (Moore
Melkote, 2009). Research data showed that the women used condoms to prevent pregnancy during
intercourse (Moore Melkote, 2009). The audience for my instrument consists of African American
college women and men involved in heterosexual relationships in an undergraduate program,
attending a public university in the United States. Adults in college are subject to catching STD s, and
HIV through unprotected sex (Moore Melkote, 2009).
The health behavior theory used in this instrument is the health belief model.

How Intifada Affected the Peace Process in the Middle East...
The First Intifada changed the direction of the peace process and affected every Palestinians life. The
Intifada was a mass movement against the Israeli authority through boycotts, civil disobedience and
general strikes. Israel reacted to the Intifada by deploying 80,000 troops to stop the uprising by
breaking Palestinians bones [Footnote]. The Oslo Accords were signed by both Israel and Palestine to
end the Intifada and create a stable peace which gave Palestinians freedom and Israelis security. The
Palestinian Liberation Organisation was recognised by Israel and to represent the Palestinian people in

solution to the Middle East Crisis. Due to the failure of the Oslo accords and subsequent agreements
the Palestinian people marched in protest of worsening conditions. The Second Intifada came soon
after the failure of the Camp David Summit suggesting the lack of a political solution results in
increased tension and outbursts of violence . The peace process was hugely aided by the Intifada as the
First Oslo Accord was agree to end the rebellion. The uprising was primarily a reaction to the killing
of four Palestinians but developed into a countrywide demonstration after more were killed at the
funerals by Israeli troops. They demanded an end to Israel s control over occupied territories . If the

Durkheim And Weber s Theories Of Religion And Modernity
Emile Durkheim and Max Weber are two prominent philosophers whose theories unequivocally
differed on countless themes. The outlooks of Durkheim and Weber contrast however, their general
message in which they attempt to convey are of similar ideologies. When examining Durkheim and
the concept of sacred and profane, one would see how it parallels with Weber s notion of enchantment
and disenchantment. Their stances on religion correspond with each other and despite their distinct
conceptual frameworks and differing perspectives, Durkheim and Weber both offer profound
contributions to the concepts of religion and modernity. Durkheim and Weber both had distinct
theories as they expressed and conceptualized religion and it s impact to society in quite different
ways however, they somehow overall parallel each others theories. Durkheim observed religion in the
context of the integrated society and recognized its place in affecting the reasoning and conduct of
society.Max Weber saw religion as how it fortifies other social organizations. Weber suspected that the
religious belief setup contributed a social system that SUPPORTED the improvement of other social
organizations, like the economy. Weber is also addressing the shrinking hold of religion in modern
society. (Veugelers) This notionally theorizes that both philosophers acknowledge the importance of
religion as influencing and supporting society. As indicated by Durkheim, people consider religion to

The Rise Of Christianity Essay
The rise of Christianity in philosophy
One influential cult was based upon a mystical interpretation of Plato. Neo Platonism was like a
rational science that attempted to break down and describe every aspect of the divine essence and its
relationship with the human soul. An Alexandrian Jew named Philo tried using Greek philosophy to
interpret the Jewish scriptures. He wanted to unite the two traditions by suggesting that the Greek
philosophers had been inspired by the same God who had revealed himself to the Jews.
But only Christianity had the right combination of ingredients to appeal to both the masses and also
eventually the ruling elite. Based on ancient scriptures, with a solid creation myth, its own collection

When the question is asked, what we are to believe in regard to religion, it is not necessary to probe
into the nature of things, as was done by the Greek scientists. We need not be alarmed should the
Christian not know the number of elements; the motion of the heavenly bodies; the shape of the
cosmos; the species of animals and plants; the nature of stones, rivers, and mountains; about time and
distance; the signs of coming storms; or about a thousand other things which these scientists have
either found out, or think they have found out.
However, the rediscovery of Aristotle and other ancient philosophers had a profound effect on
European thought. This caused the Catholic Church to become deeply concerned. Those whose ideas
strayed too far from Christianity were accused of heresy. Scholars tried to defend themselves by
arguing that there was no contradiction between philosophical reasoning and religious faith. The most
influential scholar of the time was an Italian monk who became known as Saint Thomas Aquinas. His
writings helped to ease the growing conflict between faith and reason. Aquinas believed that although

On December 23rd, Radian Group discontinued the operation of one of their subsidiaries, Radian
Asset Assurance, and began the process of selling it. The sale of Radian Asset Assurance was a
strategic sale to allow Radian Group to be able to comply with new capital requirements expected to
be imposed during 2015.
The insurance industry, as a whole, has seen an increase in M A transactions since 2013. Property and
Casualty firms have not seen the same levels of activity, partly due to hesitant buyers concerned with
the smaller than expected rate increases among insurers.
Changes in Capital Structure
Radian Group issued new shares of common stock in 2013 and 2014. This issuance increased their
shares outstanding by 57,407 to 191,054 at the end of 2014.
Radian Group has also issued a series of Senior Notes over the past five years. Senior Notes with
interest rates varying from 5.375% to 9% are due at various intervals from 2013 to 2019.

There is a rugged trail that follows the stream bed to the Painter Leetonia Road, above, that entails
scrambling past several waterfalls. Many pools of water have fish in them.
A reminder: A fishing license is required to fish in any stream or waterway in Pennsylvania. Limits
and regulations are specified.
According to Chuck Dillon s description of Fourmile Run,
Just about any pool will contain native trout, but they disappear quickly when they see you or sense
your footsteps. If you are fishing, use a red worm, walk softly, and remain hidden as you let the worm
bounce down the stream into a pool or past an eddy. If you catch one, wet your hands before removing
the hook so that you do not remove the fish s protective mucous coating when you release it.
Fourmile Run is designated a Wild Stream under the Pennsylvania Wild and Scenic Rivers System. As
Dillon reminds us, Its fragile ecology and continued health of the stream depends upon your proper
behavior keep sticks, trash, and excess debris from entering and muddying the water.

Bob Marley Get USand Up Analysis
Get up Stand up was written in 1973 and was written by Bob Marley and Peter Tosh in the group : The
Wailers, published in the album : Legend, by Chrysalis One Music (Metrolyrics, n.d). Furthermore,
their source of inspiration was mainly influenced by their Jamaican upbringing. In essence, the song is
about the fight for acceptance of their Rastafarian religion and the need to take action to avoid
oppression.
The meaning behind the lyrics can be interpreted as both religious and anti religious. On the other
hand, the line, `Get up, stand up: stand up for your rights, can be seen as a rallying call for the people
to stand up and demand respect for the Rastafarian religion. Firstly, the fundamental message that he
brings across is that religion is something personal, it is fine to have certain religious beliefs, but it is
not acceptable when you ram it in someone else s throat. He elaborates on the need for mutual respect
for others beliefs. In addition, the lines, Preacher man don t tell me, heaven is under the earth, I know
you don t know, what life is really worth, (Metrolyrics, n.d) suggests hanging to the thought of
freedom rather ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In many societies around the globe music, including rock and rap, has been increasingly used as a
vehicle for social and political comment as we see in everyday life. Furthermore, Get Up Stand Up
was produced the era Bob Marley and Peter Tosh were surrounded by a lack of human rights, personal
freedom, that were smudged in poverty and corruption. Marley had also been influenced by political
issues that were present in Jamaica, where western political, economic domination and cultural
imperialism had moved towards the heart of Jamaica. Thus, it was to Marley s concern that the people
are to stand up for themselves, forming one of the most powerful cultural forces among youths in
Jamaica (Nathaniel Samuel Murrell,

Oppositions In Departures
In the Academy winning movie Departures, there are many cultural oppositions displayed. These
cultural oppositions displayed in this movie played both positive and negative roles. The was able to
overcome some of the negative effects from the demands the culture, which will be further explained
in one of the next paragraphs. Luckily, there were some benefits from the unspoken rules in his society
that helped him in his journey. He didn t realize it at first, but losing his dream was really a blessing,
At the end of the movie, the audience realizes everything happens for a reason in his life, no matter
how hard the journey is. One of the major cultural oppositions in the movie is high context. High
context basically means that they don t put high value on being direct. When someone is speaking the
person listening will more than likely have to interpret it. It is found to be rude if you speak too
straightforwardly. This could be problematic, and that s very apparent in this movie. The main
character and his wife has a seemingly good relationship on the outside, but his girlfriend, Mika,
doesn t seem to express her true feelings about the main character losing his job in the beginning, so
when she found out about his new, controversial job, she felt a lot anger which in return caused her to
spew how she really felt. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The ideology that you live for an eternity after dying shows a certain type of patience. In the movie,
Daigo and his boss show up five minutes late to a funeral where they are needed to prep the body, and
by the irritated look on the hosts face and rude comments you can see that he was offended that they
were late. Daigo s childhood friends father explained about how he believes in eternal life as they are
watching his departed wife be cremated. Such an intense scene shows that they value eternal

  • 2. Introduction Of Polonius In Hamlet The introduction of Polonius in Hamlet is one of an elderly chief counselor to the king of Denmark, but as his character develops, we see him evolve into a manipulator who worries about his self image and how his family might jeopardize that; one would say Polonius fears being a simple man and will sacrifice anything for status. As more events develop throughout the play Polonius turns into this ruthless politician that won t stop at anything in order to manipulate and keep his status in the kingdom; Polonius as the brilliant mastermind that he is, is always on the prowl for any information he can get his hands on; he sleeps with one eye open and an ear on the ground. Polonius uses all this information at the right moments to create his narrative. Polonius is cleric who worries about his son Laertes s possible behavior, and how his son s behavior might reflect bad on him. In previous acts Polonius gives Laertes sound advice so he doesn t go embarrassed himself when he gets to France. Polonius worries about his son s behavior and is intrigued to find out what he is up to. He calls to his servant Reynaldo and sets him with a task; to inquire on his son s behavior before meeting him. In act II is clear that Polonius worries about one thing only, and that s the reputation his son might be getting in France: inquire me first what Danskers are in Paris, /and how, what means, and where they /keep, / what company, at what expense; and finding /by this encompassment and drift of ... • 3. Water Problems in Texas Essay Texas, with its abundances of natural resources, is facing a new demon, one that doesn t even seem possible, a shortage of water. Water, without it nothing can survive. Texas is the second largest state for landmass in the nation and ninth for water square miles. Within the borders of Texas are more than 100 lakes, 14 major rivers, and 23 aquifers, so why has water become such an important issue for the state? Politicians and conservationists all agree that without a new working water plan, the state could be facing one of the most damaging environmental disasters they have ever seen. The issues that shape the states positions are population growth, current drought conditions, and who actually owns the water. Texas the second ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A study done by the Pew Hispanic Center in 2010 listed more 1.7 million undocumented residents living in the state of Texas. (Tannahill) The population growth rate, whether by legal or illegal means is only one of the issues that has been troubling state law makers and affecting the state s water plan. The second issue that is affecting Texas water is the drought conditions that the state is currently suffering from. Since 1990 Texas has seen a trend towards warmer and drier summers than usual. Texas which geographically sits in the south central part of the United States with an extensive border with the Gulf of Mexico gets its weather patterns from both the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. Researchers have shown that warmer than normal temperatures in the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans often lead to drier than normal summers. The research also shows that these trends will last for more than 20 to 25 years. Since we have been in this weather pattern since 1990, (Hembreee), hopefully we are nearing the end of the dry cycle. However, Mother Nature is never predictable. Meteorologists are only able to speculate about a week in advanced with any certainty. The eastern Pacific Ocean cycles between three phases, the three phases are El Nino, La Nina, and Neutral phase. La Nina is cooling of the sea surface temperatures and tends to bring more rain into the Gulf of Mexico and Texas. On the opposite ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

I listened to BBC from September 7 through September 13. I listened to an hour report each day, culminating in 7 hours of intercultural awareness. Because of the lengths of the podcasts, I chose to focus on the main issue that was presented in the podcast. I listened to the 1st podcast September 7, 2016. It was on an issue that has risen in Ukraine between two orthodox churches, the Ukrainian Orthodox church of Moscow and the Ukrainian Orthodox church of Kiev. In a small village in Ukraine called Pticha had the members of the UOM barricade themselves into their church, forcing those who were associated with the UOK to worship off of the property. The conflict was supposedly caused because of the political conflict that is happening between Russia and Ukraine. The leaders of the Ukrainian church of Moscow believes that the members of the church of Kiev are being too political. They say this because the members of the church of Kiev are saying that those involved in the Moscow church are not true patriots of Ukraine. The reporter asked one of the leaders of the church of Moscow if Russia was pressuring them in any of their actions against the church of Kiev. The leader said that Ukrainian orthodox church is autonomous. He stated that [The Ukrainian Orthodox church of Moscow] is absolutely independent in all areas of the church ... • 5. Disability Reflection Prior to the course, Perspectives on disability, my understanding of disability was a fundamental, concept of disability, in which I knew it existed, and also have seen and interacted with people considered to have a disability. I never took a deep look at all the social and political factors that exist within the spectrum of disability. This course has allowed me to examine all aspects of disability, which has changed my view and approach of what a disability is and how it is viewed. Historically, disability has been viewed fundamentally as a persoal tragedy, which has resulted in diasbled people being seen as objects of pity or in need of charity. They have been subject to descriminatory policies and practices in which the predominant images of passivity and helplesness reinforced their inferior status (Barton 4). Uncovering the framework of disability, by studying the historical, soicial political and educational standpoint, I see the intricacies in which gives me a greater understanding and awareness of the topic. In a me driven society we often don t take the time, to look at life through a different lens other than what you may personally experience on a daily basis. In striving for a more perfect society we must be able to do just that, try to see life from other people s perspectives, to try to envision what life might be like for people who face an onslaught of racism, sexism, all the isms you can think of. in a societal construct in, which is designed for a few. People with disabilities are constantly being discriminated upon even though there a law in place, in attempts to bring equality for all. Eventhough I believe it s necessary to be cognizant of other peoples experiences, and not judging people from the surface. In the same light people with disabilities don t often view themselves as being disabled. For eample many disabled people do not consider their disability a flaw or personal deficit with good reason. They are comfortable with who they are, and they do not wish to be fixed or cured (Disablity Theory4). Through this course study, including course readings and classroom discussions, has allowed me to view disability with a whole new scope and perspectives. It may sound ... He insisted, that this aspect of his work was parallel, but not directly influenced by Dada. Étant donnés (1946 1966) Étant donnés is Duchamp s last major work. It was produced in secrecy over 20 years. Étant donnés may therefore be considered to be Duchamp s artistic testament, his conclusion to art. The work presents the viewer with a massive wooden door. If you examine it closely, you will find two peepholes. Behind the door is a picture, in which you can see a naked woman lyingin the grass. In this work for example you can see surrealistic features. The suit came after 15 month investigations of several sexual harassments complaints at MMMA. Men vs. Women The idea of different subcultures for males and females, although they live in the same country, taught the same values, and eat the same food, is not new. Although men and women live under the same conditions, they are expected to behave and respond differently. Thus as Maltz puts it: The different social needs of men and women have led them to sexually differentiated communication cultures, with each sex learning a different set of skills for manipulating words (Maltz, p.200). Maltz explains this by saying that each one of us learns his communication culture through the period of, approximately, age 5 to 15, when boys and girls interact socially primarily with members of their own sex . Not only boys and girls learn to respond differently, but they learn, self consciously, to differentiate, with exaggeration, their behavior from the other sex (Maltz, p.203). Miller understands, and therefore uses many different techniques to create a sense of tragedy in most of his plays including a View from the Bridge. The playwright uses both dialogue and stage directions to get across feelings of sadness and empathy from the reader, despite the morally corrupt theme. The play begins with a full page of stage directions. The setting is warm and homely, and the viewer understands that the residents are not rich, as they live in a block of flats. Subconsciously, this automatically arouses sympathy from the viewer. Most of the play takes place inside one room, which rapidly creates an environment that breeds tension, as it seems to all ... This quote suggests that Beatrice knows that Eddie s feelings are straying elsewhere. She also mentions that it s been three months . Eddie takes this as an insult to his masculinity and quiets her, telling her I got nothin to say about it! This short scene shows the lack of communication going on between the couple. The ill fated marriage creates a sense of tragedy as, once again, Eddie does not realise the pain and suffering he is imposing on others, in this case his wife. We understand that Beatrice needs Eddie more than Eddie needs her throughout most of the play, until the very last moments when Eddie calls out My B! and Beatrice replies Yes, yes! before her husband dies in her arms. Inspired to write based on her personal experience, Kogawa does an amazing job in displaying the hardships that the Japanese Canadian s had gone through. Two of the major themes that I believe arise in the novel are, silence and memory. At first, Obasan appears as a novel that tells people about the dangers of silence and it comes as a warning to the readers about the consequences of remaining quiet. Naomi s family is displayed as a humble quiet family that accepts the Canadian governments rules and regulations. In the novel, Obasan, we get to see that based on memory, there s a spectrum that is formed. On one side, we have Uncle and Obasan who believe that the past remains there. On the other end is aunt Emily, she believes that only by discussing and expressing past events we can ensure that they never happen again and that these events mark a place in history. For instance fibromyalgia was labeled as fibrositis, (First labeled by Gowers in 1904), and later rheumatism, etc, until the American College of Rheumatology agreed in 1990 to diagnostic criteria, (11 or more specific tender points throughout body.) What causes fibromyalgia? The history of fibromyalgia is truly very sad as this disease although very old has only recently received the attention needed to find the cause. Additional historical facts regarding fibromyalgia include: 1) Historically fibromyalgia has been considered either a neuropsychiatric or musculoskeletal condition. 2) Additional early names for fibromyalgia included muscular rheumatism, psychogenic rheumatism, and neurasthenia among others. 3) The term fibromyalgia came from researcher Mohammed Yunis as a synonym for fibrositis, and was first used in 1981. 4) In 1987 an article first used ... • 21. Bilingualism What does it mean to be bilingual? Is it as simple as having the ability to speak two languages? Or does it have a deeper meaning? Martin Espada and Richard Rodriguez have opposite views on the concept of bilingualism. Espada feels Latinos have the right to speak Spanish anywhere, considering language is intertwined with identity. Conversely, Rodriguez believes that to truly understand a language, you must forget the language that is already known to feel accepted in society. These ideas, similar to mine are not as simple as speaking two languages. To me the idea of bilingualism is respecting the two languages that are spoken by having the courage to speak them anywhere, at anytime. According to Martin Espada the idea of bilingualism is way deeper than just speaking two languages. Being bilingual to Espada means that both the languages spoken are intertwined with identity. This claim is constructed in his essay The New Bathroom Policy at English High School. He informs us of what he has learned about bilingual people in America: I have never met a single person who didn t want to learn English. What they want to do is retain their language, culture and identity (Espada 164 167). English is a powerful language in America, the Latinos that reside there feel that learning English could jeopardize their ability to speak Spanish. Moreover, Espada also uses an experience he had at META, in which the goal was to stop English from becoming the official language in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

We were in the middle of what I like to call a civil war. Although there were no battles or gunfights our country was torn in half. There was an issue dealing with race in the United States. The movie, Remember the Titans is based on actual events that occurred in the year 1971. Mainly on the integration of a school called TC Williams High School. When the school was integrated the old football coach, Coach Yoast, was let go and a black coach Herman Boone was hired on. Gerry then listens to his teammate s opinion and acts accordingly to do what is best for the team, because that is what leaders do, even if it mean calling out his best friend and making him step it up. After moving to Paris in 1835, Frank entered the Conservatoire where he studied counterpoint with Leborne and piano with Zimmermann. It was during his student years at the Paris Conservatoire which Franck composed his first serious works, three trios for piano, violin and cello, that foreshadows his late style music, concluding the early use of cyclic form. The Importance Of The Tet Offensive In The Vietnam War In late January of 1968, during the Vietnamese lunar new year known as Tet, the North Vietnamese launched a coordinated series of attacks on cities and outposts in South Vietnam. The attack, which went on to be known as the Tet Offensive, was an attempt from the Viet Cong to spark a rebellion in South Vietnam and to send a stark message to United States, advising them to limit their involvement in the conflict. Although U.S. and South Vietnamese troops were able to hold off some of the attacks, the Tet Offensive was still a victory for the Viet Cong despite having received numerous casualties. The Tet Offensive marked a turning point for the Viet Cong in the Vietnam war, with the attack beginning the United States long withdraw from the country. Due to news coverage of the attack being broadcasted on American television, public support for the war began to deteriorate, leading to more people wanting for an end to the conflict. North Vietnamese Commander General Vo Nguyen Giap had chosen the Vietnamese holiday, which occurs on January 31st, to break the stalemate in the war. Giap believed that a coordinated attack would cause an unstable Army of the Republic of Vietnam (ARVN) to collapse. He also hoped that this collapse would lead to chaos and a rebellion amongst South Vietnamese citizens. Lamentation and Hope in the Depiction of Paradise The quest for an earthly paradise and the anticipation of a heavenly one is a drive that has always prevailed in humankind s search for God and redemption from the original sin. The desire for a terrestrial manifestation of paradise, a so called lost origin is predominantly reflected in writers depictions of the fall of man. This can be seen in Milton s Paradise Lost and Lucy Hutchinson s Order and Disorder. Both these epic poems at times magnify the sadness and gravity of the loss of a paradisal home in which Adam and Eve as our fore parents dwelt under God s close guidance and love. The fascination with Eden s bliss is manifested in Adam and Eve s admiration, however it also extends to Satan s various instances of questioning his own actions in the shadow of such beauty. Perhaps crucial to both interpretations of the fall of man is that the knowledge gained from the forbidden fruit is the realization of loss, the sudden true appreciation of the beauty of a paradise that is now lost. On the other hand the promise of redemption is provided through God s mercy in Death, thus allowing for a hope and anticipation of a heavenly paradise. This portrayal of a merciful God in Paradise Lost and Order and Disorder, grows out of man s search for redemption and a desire to be united with God in a heavenly paradise. Bob Marley Get USand Up Analysis Get up Stand up was written in 1973 and was written by Bob Marley and Peter Tosh in the group : The Wailers, published in the album : Legend, by Chrysalis One Music (Metrolyrics, n.d). Furthermore, their source of inspiration was mainly influenced by their Jamaican upbringing. In essence, the song is about the fight for acceptance of their Rastafarian religion and the need to take action to avoid oppression. The meaning behind the lyrics can be interpreted as both religious and anti religious. On the other hand, the line, `Get up, stand up: stand up for your rights, can be seen as a rallying call for the people to stand up and demand respect for the Rastafarian religion. Firstly, the fundamental message that he brings across is that religion is something personal, it is fine to have certain religious beliefs, but it is not acceptable when you ram it in someone else s throat. He elaborates on the need for mutual respect for others beliefs. In addition, the lines, Preacher man don t tell me, heaven is under the earth, I know you don t know, what life is really worth, (Metrolyrics, n.d) suggests hanging to the thought of freedom rather ... These cultural oppositions displayed in this movie played both positive and negative roles. The was able to overcome some of the negative effects from the demands the culture, which will be further explained in one of the next paragraphs. Luckily, there were some benefits from the unspoken rules in his society that helped him in his journey. He didn t realize it at first, but losing his dream was really a blessing, At the end of the movie, the audience realizes everything happens for a reason in his life, no matter how hard the journey is. One of the major cultural oppositions in the movie is high context. High context basically means that they don t put high value on being direct. When someone is speaking the person listening will more than likely have to interpret it. It is found to be rude if you speak too straightforwardly. This could be problematic, and that s very apparent in this movie. The main character and his wife has a seemingly good relationship on the outside, but his girlfriend, Mika, doesn t seem to express her true feelings about the main character losing his job in the beginning, so when she found out about his new, controversial job, she felt a lot anger which in return caused her to spew how she really felt. ...
