Pros And Cons Of John Muir
John Muir is best known for his efforts to preserve the wilderness of the United States, which greatly
contributed to the preservation of countless natural areas of the US through the National Parks
Service. During his travels across the country and abroad, Muir recorded his thoughts and beliefs
about nature and the fundamental connection people share with the earth. By voyaging into the wild
and shedding the restraints and ideals of modern society, Muir argues that people can expand their
understanding of the world and experience life to its full potential through immersing themselves in
nature. First and foremost a researcher of the environment, Muir believed that by spending time in
nature, he could more deeply understand the earth and all of the knowledge it has to offer. During one
of his numerous expeditions in the Yosemite Valley in 1869, Muir remarks that ...these lawless
wanderings will be valuable as suggestive beginnings... if I should return to the awkward rules laws of
civilization be buried as a strand into the thick of society. He knows that if he returns to civilization,
his excursions will be no more than beginnings of research that will serve no real purpose. He further
comments that, These sweet free roamings be as little chinks seams on life s horizon whence I may
obtain narrow glimpses of the treasures of the Kingdoms of Nature beyond. Just as the horizon blocks
out sunlight, Muir argues that civilization blocks out the opportunity to discover

Identifying Problem Areas Of Brazil
Identifying Problem Areas in Brazil
When moving into international markets, it is crucial to investigate the major types of difficulties that
can arise in other countries. Businesses experience setbacks or failure when they attempt to move into
international markets. The major components that contribute to lack of success include errors in
pricing, distribution, market analysis, or packaging, but may also result from an insufficient
understanding of the infrastructure and culture of the trading nation.
Costing
It is essential to calculate the complete cost of a product for any business. A distributor or wholesaler
must figure out the landing cost (cost of a product after all transportation handling, currency exchange
rates, and import ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Poor roads and a limited rail network push up freight costs. High interest rates mean firms must over
spend on financing; high crime adds heavy security costs to their overheads. A terrible education
system makes Brazil the world s second hardest place for firms to find the skills they need, according
to Manpower Group, behind only ageing Japan. Soaring labour costs, which have doubled in a decade
as big hikes to the minimum wage set the tone for pay negotiations across the board, have added a
new ingredient to the old recipe.
Big price differences mean imports are increasingly taking market share from locals and even
Brazilians of relatively modest means have taken to stocking up on foreign shopping trips. A recent
weakening of the currency will give local manufacturers some breathing space, but in the long term
the only solution is to become more efficient. The World Bank s annual report on doing business in a
range of countries reads like a productivity to do list for Brazil: make it simpler to start up and wind
up companies; cut and streamline taxes; increase domestic savings and investment. A recent study by
the Boston Consulting Group estimated that three quarters of Brazil s growth in the past decade came
from adding more workers and only a quarter from productivity gains. With few more workers to add,
the only way Brazil can start to grow once more is

Energy Price Volatility With Regards Natural Gas
Executive Summary
In this paper, energy price volatility with regards natural gas will be expounded on the essentials of
market requisites. The report explains a number of factors that lead to price differences in the market
and price volatility implications to oil and gas companies and industry. Supply and demand factors
play a major role in shaping natural gas prices but factors such as war, environment and OPEC
contribute to price differentials. Value at Risk (VaR) evaluates and quantifies risk for the industry as a
risk management tool.
Introduction
Global economy is driven by energy markets. Energy does not only play a significant role in consumer
products but also an important input in nearly all the industries. (Efimova O. and ... Show more

Finally, recommendations and a conclusion made on natural gas price volatility based on the analysis
and information discussed in this report.
Overview
Huntington H. G. 2009 mentions that recent changes in natural gas market are attributed to market
forces and organizations operating in the industry. As the industry develops into new end user markets
and producers, prices adjust according to the changes in the market.
Due to the key roles of energy influence on global economic welfare, pricing is fundamental for
correct and efficient choice of appropriate energy source. (Davis L. W. and Muehlegger E. 2010).
Energy Information Administration (EIA) 2014 says the total gas consumption within industrial and
electric power sectors in the U.S. will improve from 25.6 trillion cubic feet (Tcf) in 2012 to 31.6Tcf in
2040. Natural gas usage escalates in all sectors apart from residential due to population movement to
warmer areas (EIA 2014) figure 1. For instance, in 2010 approximately 25% of energy consumed in
the U.S. came from natural gas (Lv X. and Shan X. 2013). This indicates prices may adjust to demand
changes accompanying its usage.

The World Market Intelligence 2015, points out that natural gas levels of production and consumption

Tracking Myth to Geological Reality
Kevin Krajick s article Tracking Myth to Geological Reality was published by American Association
for the Advancement of Science in 2005. This article examines how many myths can be linked to
geological evidence. Geologists have been investigating how ancient geological phenomenon are able
to shed light on the origins of many myths. Scientist have even uncovered evidence that may serve as
the inspiration for biblical stories. Many are hoping that understanding these myths and the geological
phenomenon they depict will reveal important information about natural disasters like: tsunamis,
floods and volcanic eruptions. It is hoped that this information will save human lives in the future.

in Krajick 763). These myths have led scientist to believe that the explosion is reoccurring. The
Genesis flood store describes a large scale flood that covers all of the mountains and rids the world of
man and his wicked flesh. It has been argued that the rising sea level of the Mediterranean, which
followed the last deglaciation covered what is now the Bosporus Strait and flowed into the Black Sea
around 7,600 years ago. It is thought that this massive flood served as the inspiration for the great
flood described in The Book of Genesis. While this evidence is not conclusive it adds a new
perspective on flood stories. Atrahasis is a creation and flood story that is much older but it is now
reasonable to wonder if this too was not based on an actual flood. Currently, there is no evidence
directly linking the myth to actual flooding. However, it was common for the Tigris and Euphrates
rivers to flood during the time of this myths creation. It is hoped that by understanding the patterns of
these catastrophic environmental events. That lives can be saved in the future. In the case of the
previously undiscovered fault line in Seattle, it is hoped that this information will reduce casualties in
the event that the fault line slips again. Brian Atwater a paleoseismologist, of the U.S. Geological
Survey in Seattle said, Myth can sometimes

Relationship Between Gilgamesh And Enkidu
Gilgamesh and Enkidu
In the Epic of Gilgamesh, the paths of two extremely different men converge and propel them on a
journey to become of the most legendary duos in literary history. Fate, it would have it, destined them
to collide and satiate their desire for companionship. Enkidu and Gilgamesh are a complementary
match. Many factors contribute to the significance of this relationship and what each stood to gain
from the other. Before Enkidu s creation, Gilgamesh wasn t a pleasant king. He wreaked havoc on his
subjects in the city of Uruk. By day and by night his tyranny grows harsher (Gilgamesh 86, tablet I).
He withdrew all young men from their fathers to be soldiers for his Army. He had his way with the
young women before their ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Both Enkidu and Gilgamesh had that pull for companionship. Enkidu finally makes his way to Uruk
where blocks the path of Gilgamesh who is on his way to the wedding house. They have this
dramatical fight testing each other strengths until Gilgamesh s anger subsides and he stops the fight
and forms a friendship with Enkidu. Ninsun, the mother of Gilgamesh, reminds them of how Enkidu
has no brother and no family and it makes Enkidu sad. Gilgamesh hated seeing his friend hurt so he
proposes they go fight the ferocious Humbaba, the mystical monster in the Forest of Cedar. Enkidu
advises against going on the quest. From what he remembers living in the wild, no one would dare go
fight Humbaba. Gilgamesh gives him a hard time stating Why my friend, do you speak like a
weakling? With your spineless words you make me despondent (tablet II, 232 33). He then precedes to
remind Enkidu of their strengths and that together Humbaba can be defeated. This is the start of their
Epic destiny together. The journeys and battles they face really show the parallels between the two
characters and how their personalities mesh together as if they were one person at times but also
flipping roles in certain situations. When they finally arrive at the Forest of Cedar, Gilgamesh is the
one who doesn t want to go in and fight. Enkidu reminds Gilgamesh that he is the king of Uruk. At
this point, they have switched

What Role Does Magic Play In Othello
Magic in Othello Magic has a huge effect on the characters in Othello, although it is not visible or
physical. It controls all of them and depicts or changes their thoughts and actions. In the play Othello
written by William Shakespeare, magic plays a major role in how the characters think and act, often in
ways unusual ways. Magic is not the kind you see in movies, but the kind that is built up in their
heads, to the point were it shapes their thoughts and opinions. Such as the handkerchief given to
Desdemona by Othello, it is symbol of love and trust for Othello, and it going missing angers Othello.
Othello is also accused of using magic and witchcraft to win Desdemona, to which he says the same
story he used to woo Desdemona, and finishes ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

merely because he is black and therefore pagan . Yet Othello does have magic, in the words he uses
and the stories he tells. (Smith 1), his words perform magic on people, he has a silver tongue (just like
Iago, but uses it differently). This is not magic in the sense of tricks and gimmicks, but how his words

My Boyhood
At the beginning of my boyhood, I did not pay much attention to Islam and to its prophet. Things
started to change when I was sent to a Koranic school called Salman Al Farsi in Sharjah. There, I
started wholeheartedly memorizing verses of the Koran with other children in a circle around the
recitation teacher. I had to remember the verses by heart unless I wanted to face my teacher s wrath.
During this time, I learned a great deal about Islam and its teachings. Everything seemed to center
around the greatest human that ever existed. I was taught Mohammed s mannerisms in terms of how
he eats, how he sleeps, walks, talks, and every minute detail of his life. We were taught to be
unhealthily obsessed with living life like he did, from what to think down to how he defecates and
urinates. That was who I aspired to be. I wanted to be the best, and I was constantly reminded of who
to emulate to achieve that. Yet, I struggled with following his example and denying myself the joys of
life. During the Koranic lessons, I would gaze at the other pupils faces. It started out of boredom, but
then developed to admiration of certain faces. It wasn t sexual at that point; I was too young. I just
stared admiring the beauty of some of the other boys faces, and I wanted those boys to notice me. I
was not aware that some of the boys were doing the same and staring at me with such an intention.
One time, my eight year old eyes were caught off guard looking at an older boy named Abdullah. He

Separation Of P-Acetamidobenzoic Acid
The objective of this procedure is to produce a sample of p acetamidobenzoic acid from the oxidation
of p acetotoluidide with potassium permanganate.
Procedure Part A Preparation of p Acetamidobenzoic Acid
In a 250 mL Erlenmeyer Flask, 5 g (0.02 mol) of magnesium sulfate crystals were mixed with 1.9 g
(0.013 mol) of p acetotoluidide in 125 mL of de ionized water. The resulting solution was placed on a
hot plate and was steadily boiled until the solution reached 85°C, or until the solution reached a gentle
boil (it was emphasized that the solution should be heated slowly, in order to maximize the efficiency
of the reaction). While this was occurring, a separate solution was prepared from 5.1 g (0.032 mol) of
potassium permanganate and 20 mL of boiling water, which were placed in a separate 250 mL beaker,
which was placed on a slowly heating hot plate (in order to keep the solution as warm as possible, but
not warm enough that the water could evaporate). It was observed that this solution was characterized
by a very distinct purple color, and a small amount of precipitate could be observed at the bottom of
the beaker. Once the p acetotoluidide solution had reached a gentle boil, it was vigorously stirred with
a stirring rod, and every so often (about every 5 minutes) a small portion of the potassium
permanganate solution was added to the solution; at this point, it was emphasized that the potassium
permanganate solution, or the oxidizing agent, should be added in small

China Economy
CHINA
AN ECONOMIC OVERVIEW
The rapid rise of China as a major economic power within a time span of about three decades is often
described by analysts as one of the greatest economic success stories in modern times. From 1979
(when economic reforms began) to 2011, China s real gross domestic product (GDP) grew at an
average annual rate of nearly 10%. From 1980 to 2011, real GDP grew 19 fold in real terms, real per
capita GDP increased 14 fold, and an estimated 500 million people were raised out of extreme
poverty. China is now the world s second largest economy and some analysts predict it could become
the largest within a few years. Yet, on a per capita basis, China remains a relatively poor country.

To support rapid industrialization, the central government undertook large scale investments in
physical and human capital during the 1960s and 1970s. As a result, by 1978 nearly three fourths of
industrial production was produced by centrally controlled, state owned enterprises (SOEs), according
to centrally planned output targets. Private enterprises and foreign invested firms were generally
barred. A central goal of the Chinese government was to make China s economy relatively self
sufficient. Foreign trade was generally limited to obtaining only those goods that could not be made or
obtained in China. Government policies kept the Chinese economy relatively stagnant and inefficient,
mainly because most aspects of the economy were managed and run by the central government (and
thus there were few profit incentives for firms, workers, and farmers), competition was virtually
nonexistent, foreign trade and investment flows were mainly limited to Soviet bloc countries, and
price and production controls caused widespread distortions in the economy. Chinese living standards
were substantially lower than those of many other developing countries. The Chinese government in
1978 (shortly after the death of Chairman Mao in 1976) decided to break with its Soviet style
economic policies by gradually reforming the economy according to free market principles and
opening up trade and investment with the West, in the hope that this would significantly increase
economic growth and raise

disease. The fiber containing groups that fell short of the recommended intake were fruits and
vegetables. The amount of fruits I took in was lower than the vegetable intake. The specific foods that
provided the most fiber in my meals were the vegetables and the oatmeal.
Dietary Modifications The changes that I would make to increase the fiber in my diet, would be to
include more fruits and vegetables in my daily intake. The daily recommended intake of fiber was 21
g. The most fiber I consumed in one day was 15 g. or 73 percent of the recommended daily intake. I
need to consume more fruits and vegetables in an effort to achieve the proper dietary fiber intake.

Cultural Expectations In Marge Piercy s Barbie Doll
The ideal that society thrives on creating expected images for women is constantly argued against.
Many disagree with the idea that society can place expectations for what is beautiful, now saying
things such as chunky is hunky or that men love curves . In reality, the standards are still set. For
example, with American magazines audiences are infatuated by the image of perfect beauty and
female sexuality (Hanjani 310). In Marge Piercy s Barbie Doll , Piercy exemplifies the effects of
society s standards on a growing adolescent girl. Piercy uses the symbolism of the poem and repetition
of one line to amplify how society s cultural expectations control the aspects of an individual s life,
especially the lives of young women. Piercy begins ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Now, the audience follows the girl to her death. The tone turned completely around from pleasant and
was filled with remorse. The girl finally decides to take it upon herself to get rid of her flaws; So she
cut off her nose and her legs and offered them up. (Piercy, 604). Finally, the girl was perfect.
Following these lines, the girl is laid in a casket at her funeral, and many of her peers now come
around and express how truly beautiful she was. The title, Barbie doll, is fitting with this portion of the
poem. The casket was not just a casket. Instead, it acted as a Barbie Box, one that showed of the
contents of its perfect package. However, it wasn t truly the girl that was represented in the box.
Instead, she was made up to perfection, her nose was now a turned up putty nose (Piercy, 604), and
she had mountains of makeup caked onto her face. It was only now that society accepted the girl, she
had met their standards at last. The girl represents the death of everyone as well, with her death,
everyone now supported her. The casket, girl, and her death all symbolize the events that unfold with
most female death. A female is glorified on her death

Theme Of Freedom In Fahrenheit 451
Have you ever wished that something wasn t true that in in fact very true? Take basic math for
example. If I was asked, what is 2+2 and I answered 5 , I wouldn t be correct and I would have gotten
the problem wrong. But imagine being in a world where 2+2 could be whatever you wanted it to be. A
world in which no one could tell you that you were wrong. One in which no one would be able to hurt
your feelings because no one was allowed to. We come to this world in the book named Fahrenheit
451. In this book, readers are summered into a world in which the author, Ray Bradbury, describes
what the society is and how it was made through the life of Guy Montag. Our main character sets out
to discover many things about his society including what it truly means to be free and how he and his
neighbors really aren t really free. Yet they are safe from harm. Is this balance worth it? In order for
one to understand the suppression of freedom in this culture of F451, readers must first have a good
understanding in what freedom really is.
What is freedom? Well, according to the Oxford Dictionary it is having the power or right to act,
speak, or think as one wants without hindrance or restraint. Keeping this definition in mind, it is very
disheartening for one to see the suppressed freedom is in F451. Yes, the people do enjoy the ability to
eat, wear, and do what they want, but there is more to life than just doing these things. Take the United
States of America for example.

The Importance Of Inclusion In Education
Inclusion is the notion of children being educated regardless of any disabilities they may have. It
allows students with disabilities to learn side by side with those who are not disabled. This is achieved
by providing an array of experiences that all students are able to participate and be successful in a
regular classroom. Inclusion has been a topic of debate for centuries. Some experts conclude that
inclusion within classrooms is beneficial to all students. In contrast, others argue that inclusion within
classrooms is problematic to achieve and could become detrimental to some students. Students with
disabilities should be educated alongside their neighborhood peers unless the differences between the
two are so great that even with extra support; the regular classroom is not able to meet the disabled
student s various needs.
Most schools today have disabled and non disabled students in the same school but separate their
classrooms. This can be considered a form of segregation which is defined as the act of setting one
apart from another group. The Brown v. Board of Education ruling in 1954 decided that the racial
segregation of students in public schools violated the Fourteenth Amendment. This ruling paved the
way for the 1975 federal law which gives all children with disabilities access to free public education.
According to the American Constitution Society, Before 1975, about one million American children
with disabilities were receiving no education from

Encoding Specificity
Background
For the average college student, taking notes is pretty important because it is how information is
studied. If you where to observe a college classroom you would see people taking notes on paper,
computers, and tape recorders. When test time comes around, they are all on paper, this could have an
effect on testing performance. Encoding specificity principle could affect recall of information.
Explained by Tulving and Thomson (1973) the principle asserts that only that can be retrieved that has
been stored, and that how it can be retrieved depends on how it was stored . What they are saying is
information is retrieved best when context cues are present at the time of encoding and recall. Based
on this principle it is possible that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In that experiment they where testing recognition memory. A normal college test doesn t just test for
recognition memory, although this does demonstrate the limits of encoding specificity. While in other
studies they looked closely at recall and encoding specificity. They found that scuba divers recall more
words when the learning environment matched the testing environment (Godden and Baddeley 1975).
This shows that extrinsic context effects recall and supports the encoding specificity principle. The
medium of notes is a form of extrinsic context, like the environments, test score will be higher if the
medium of notes and test where to be congruent. In an experiment looking at associative memory

Video Game Effects On Children
Video Game Effects on Children
The effects of video games on children has been widely debated on multiple occasions. Most homes
contain at least one video game system. There are plenty of companies involved in the rapidly
growing gaming industry. These companies ensure a wide variety of types and genres of video games
exist in the world today, and most people, including adults, will have very little difficulty identifying
precisely which game is their favourite. The fact of the matter is, nearly every child has easy access to
video games; playing these games has to have some impact on the children. Not all of the effects from
playing video games are definitively positive or negative. Children happen to be the intended audience
for many video games. Companies create these games to be kid friendly, and kids are able to learn
from the content of the games. There is much that can be learned from and skills that can be improved
by playing video games. There are many positive outcomes of playing video games; children should
be allowed the opportunity to learn both skills and knowledge from video games.
Children exposed to video games may socialize differently than those without access to games. Firstly,
many communicational skills can be developed from playing video games. We heard boys describe
facile ways of dividing up leadership and recognizing one another s expertise in the most collaborative
and generative of ways which also happens to be the key to a

Chemicals and Pesticides Found in the Great Lakes Essay
The chemicals found in water can be dangerous toward our health. We live near the Great Lakes
which supplies 20% of the World s fresh water. It also has chemicals that threaten the life evolving
around the fresh water. There are medical drugs that are being introduced to the fresh water lakes.
Stuff like antibiotics and steroids. These pharmaceuticals are posing danger for the environment. This
could affect the lake life,s growth. Pesticides are also found in the Great Lakes. These pesticides are

Developing a Performance Appraisal System
Developing a Performance Appraisal System Kimberly Garnett HSM/220 April 3, 2011 Developing A
Performance Appraisal System In order for the design and administration of a performance appraisal
system; to be effective; managers and employees must communicate on a regular basis. Allan and
Rosenberg (1981) stated, Performance appraisal system plays a number of roles in an organization that
s geared towards achieving the company s goals and mission. Beginning at the corporate level, values,
behaviors, and goals should be identified; these must support the company s strategic mission and
promote the success of the business. The basic purpose of performance appraisal system involves two

Different Approaches According to Allan amp; Rosenberg (1981), the system should be based on
behavior results; not ambiguous employee characteristics. The appraisals should be reviewed by
higher level managers or human resource manager; there should be a formal appeal mechanism or
system providing an avenue of appeal to employees who are dissatisfied with their evaluations; and
performing counseling, guidance and or training should be provided to help poor performers improve
their performance. Supervisors need to know his or her workers, so that he or she has opportunities to
steer them towards greater productivity and optimized output. The steps supervisors must take to
ensure successful evaluation, and constructive outcomes are: (1) Training (2) Evaluation (3) Review
Successful training is the implementation of a system in which everyone in the workplace is geared
toward improvement. This involves a hands on approach in which the employee is encouraged to
evaluate him or herself under the supervisor. Results based approach to performance appraisal is the

Christian Reformed Church
On March 26, 2017, I visited Palos Heights Christian Reformed Church, 7059 West 127th Street,
Palos Heights, Illinois. A Christian Reformed Church service is completely different than a Catholic
mass. I had been going to Palos Heights CRC since the beginning of the year and noticed that they
celebrate the Lord s Supper about once a month with pieces of bread and sparkling grape juice. The
Sunday prior to the Lord s Supper mass is dedicated to repenting and preparing the congregation for
the celebration of the Lord s Supper. There s an obvious theme for the entire service such as on March

God has brought us into the community and it is our responsibility to include God into the community
He has given to us. Worship involved songs that all were relatively regarding God s reign and
community. The songs and Scriptures read/song had a meaning of how Christians will be saved if we
continue to be followers if we love God and keep his commandment, and if we preach the Word we
will be saved by grace. The covenant of grace has many significant meanings in the Christian
Reformed Church, the covenant of redemption may be defined as follows: The agreement between the
Father, giving the Son as Head and Redeemer of the elect, and the Son, voluntarily taking the place of
those whom the Father had given him (Hoekema 187). The value of keeping the covenant of grace is
to preach the Holy Scripture but to also grow stronger in faith. The covenants made between man and
God are meant to keep commandments and to join in fellowship with one another. The message of the
importance of the covenant of grace in the reading of Perspectives in the Christian Reformed Church
is that the covenant of grace, further, does full justice to both the individual ad social aspects of
Christianity. The covenant of grace requires man s full orbed service of God as God s covenant partner
(Hoekema 200). God alone is all powerful, great, good, Creator, Redeemer, and the

The Divine Secrets of the Ya Ya Sisterhood
Rebecca Wells paints a picture of the various roles that women often must encounter in their lives:
mother, daughter, friend. As said by Charlotte Observer She [Wells] speaks eloquently to what it
means to be a mother, a daughter, a wife and somehow, at last, a person. Wells uses a captivating style
to create a simple plot, memorable symbolism and a reoccurring theme of friendship. The Divine
Secrets of the Ya Ya Sisterhood teaches about the importance of giving and receiving love and finding
joy in everyday life.
The simplistic plot of the novel and the overall theme of love allows the author to span the lives of the
main characters. The reader sees the span of the life of two of the main characters, Sidda and her
mother Vivi, as ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There s such a thing as alligators that get in the way for certain people (Wells 315). Connor s response
to this is that his love is stronger for her than any of the problems that they could encounter in their
life together. I am stronger than alligators (Wells 315). The alligator symbol is a constant reminder of
the dangers in life; whether the love of a mother, or eventually partner, people overcome the alligators.
The creative and unique style which Wells chooses facilitate the reader in capturing the true message
without wasting time with character descriptions. Through the series of letters written to other
characters the reader gets a third person voice from the author, but with a first person view from the
character. This is fascinating to the reader because it allows the reader to understand and each
character individually. The reader is able to see traits that might not be revealed by the book. Wells
lets us into a few of the quirks in the characters personalities through a sequence of letters. The Ya Ya

Oedipus Relationship Between Hamlet and Gertrude
The Oedipal Relationship between Hamlet and Gertrude
Throughout William Shakespeare s Hamlet, Shakespeare portrays Hamlet with the same types of
behaviors and frustrations in humans that Sigmund Freud saw at a much later date. When the
relationship between Hamlet and his mother is analyzed Freud s oedipal complex theory comes to
mind.
Sigmund Freud first wrote about his theory in his book An Interpretation of Dreams in 1899. Simply
put, Freud states that it is normal for children to have sexual desires for their parent of the opposite
sex. He says that it is also normal to have feelings of hatred for the other parent that is of the same sex
as the child. Most children experience these feelings between the ages of three and five, ... Show more

He states that she seeks out incestuous pleasure of his bed. (3.4 . l. 90) This exploring of his mother s
carnal nature is because he is sexually concerned for her. Hamlet also makes many allusions to beds
and sex in the scene because beds are where most sexual activity occurs. An example of this is when
Hamlet says: In the rank sweat of an enseamented bed Stew d (3.4 . l. 93 96) It is possible that here
Shakespeare wanted to show how Hamlet s rage brought out all his repressed sexually desires for his
mother because of Hamlet s concentration on Gertrude s sex life. All of these words come out in
Hamlet s rage because before he had repressed them. It can be best explained by Freud when he sates
the complex which is thus formed is doomed to early repression (Freud 51) but it has a lasting
influence from the unconscious. (Freud 51) It could be concluded from a Freudian point of view that
in this scene Hamlet s repressed sexual desire for his mother surfaces due to his rage in a form of
sexual allusions.
The significance of the closet scene taking place in Gertrude s bedroom is also important to look at
because the privacy and intimacy of the bedroom add a new dimension when Hamlet s and Gertrude s
relationship is examined. Bedrooms are very private and are usually places where sexual activity takes
place. Shakespeare possibly placed Hamlet and Gertrude in these

Using Animals Symbolically by Using Poetic Devices Essay
Using Animals Symbolically by Using Poetic Devices
I will be discussing the ways in which the poets use animals symbolically by using poetic devices. The
three poems that I have chosen are The Tyger by William Blake, The Eagle by Alfred, Lord
Tennyson. Lastly, Pied Beauty by Gerard Manley Hopkins. Alfred Lord
Tennyson has used an image of an eagle to give the reader an image of a man standing on a cliff top
waiting for his world to fall around him. He is in a desolate area; there is no society near him ringed
with the azure world. He stands . He watches the sea pass lower than him his world collapses beneath
him n he falls.

However, the poem is trying to tell us that the eagle is standing close to the sun in lonely lands and
that the enormous sea is beneath him. These are the ways that the poet has used the eagle symbolically
and to illustrate his strength and power standing high in the sky.
Tyger! Tyger! Burning bright
This is an example from The Tyger
Metaphors of fire and blazing are emphasize by duplication of the B sound. The B sound makes it
stronger and powerful to use.
My second choice is Pied Beauty . Gerard Manley Hopkins who was born in 1844 wrote this poem.
The poem is tells us about all the different creatures that God has shaped. Explaining how for many
belongings in nature there is a contradictory. He is also telling the reader that we should be thankful
towards it and the entire God gifted.
In the poem, there are uses of some oxymoron s by using them it shows the different extremes that
exist within nature. This is similar to the Tyger. In addition, that shows the readers that to
keep the balance on the planet God has created an opposite. Adazzle, dim . With swift, slow; sweet,
sour
He uses animals as one of God s gift for our nature and used them symbolically for the exquisiteness
of the planet.
My third choice of poem is The Tyger written by William Blake. This poem shows the evilness of the

Everything Pond Water

Introduction
Humans are surrounded by thousands of bodies of water throughout the world. What makes a lake
differ from an ocean? Or what makes a pond different from a lake? A pond is a body of standing water
either natural or man made, that is usually smaller than a lake. Ponds contain amazing biodiversity,
providing an environment for birds, fish, amphibians, alages, protists, and many many more
organisms. A pond is normally much shallower than a lake, and sometimes plants roots can grow all
the way to the bottom of the pond because the suns rays can penetrate to the bottom of the pond. It is
very hard to determine the difference between a pond and a lake, most differences occur ... Show more

Alages seemed to be more prominent at the bottom of the pond water sample. Blue green algae can
grow without nitrogen and will soon dominate the pond. (3) While looking at blue green algae when
looking under the microscope, it was surprising at how little quantity there was. Expecting to find
more algae at the other levels, samples of all three layers of the pond water; top, middle, and bottom
were taken. Each layer contained nearly the same amount of algae. Expecting to find many protists
near the bottom, numerous samples at that layer were taken, only to find them dominated by blue
green algae. This find was not expected. The lack of Protist activity could be due to the temperature of
the water and season when the pond water sample was collected. The colder temperatures in winter,
along with reduced light, can lead to less and slower Protist activity. Looking at the hypothesis, it was
unclear to the number of algae seen as the pH changed. Algae numbers seemed to be consistent
regardless of the pH, or the layer of water which the sample was taken. For future experiments, it
would be helpful if there was alage measurements as far as quantity of algae. Since the pH remained
consistent and did not fluctuate, there was no way of determining the alages numbers. Proper
measurements are crucial when trying to determine the legitimacy of a hypothesis.

In conclusion, ponds are bodies of water that are normally smaller than a lake, that

In the age of Romanticism, slavery and the slave trade provoked sharp criticism and controversy and
played a very significant role in shaping public opinion and causing moral opposition to injustice and
tyranny. Since Columbus s journey opened the doors of the Atlantic passage to African Slave Trade,

Jacobs was hoping to portray the cruelty of slavery in the eyes of a woman. She did not talk about

The s Argument That The Holocaust Is Only Available...
Miller, like Glowacka, understands that literature, even fiction, transmits ideas and emotions to the
reader which are central to comprehending and learning from traumatic experiences. Miller references
Susan Suleiman s argument that the Holocaust is only available through representation . Suleiman
made this argument in response to Holocaust deniers who claim that fictitious memoirs confirm the
inexistence of the Holocaust. However, the point supports the idea that art, including literature, allows
the public to experience something like the Holocaust that otherwise would be not be available to
experience.
On the other hand, Miller successfully argues that fake memoirs are meant to highlight the
problematic nature of authenticity and capitalism has changed the idea of what we think is real and
what is not. By citing Baudrillard, Miller states that our idea of real is only a series of representations
that we think are real. In fact, all our ideas of reality are fabrications because memory is not factual.
The discovery of these fake memoirs can cause society to realize that all memoirs are, in fact,
fabrications. With that in mind, this article contradicts the idea that the public can understand trauma
through experiencing art. Overall, Stylised Configurations of Trauma contributes to the art, trauma,
and memory theme through proving that the study of fraudulent memoirs can help explain the strange
expectation that literature is able to provide access to something

Having a Good Time at Work Essay
Imagine that a job allows it employees to have the hours that work best for the employees. The
employee has all of their needs met every hour they were at their job. The employee truly feels they
are important to the employer they work for. There are many companies doing just that for their
employees today. These companies are finding that they have far less employee turnover ( Forbes
Magazine ). Some of the biggest companies around the world are finding new ways to take special
care of their employees by offering them top salaries, lavish company perks, and offering flexible
schedules. The unimaginable work environment is now proving to be the smartest investments for
billion dollar companies. Jim Goodnight, the CEO for SAS, says It s my ... Show more content on

The employees and families of employees can see the doctor for free (SAS). Healthcare cost is a big
issue today; imagine the stress relieved from having a free doctor on call. Not only is pay a big
deciding factor for these up and coming companies, but they also lavish their employees with
astounding company perks. Such companies as SAS, Google, and Microsoft offer free meals and
snacks at anytime during the day to their employees. Google and Microsoft also made the Fortune
Magazine s Top companies to work for ( Forbes Magazine ). They have employed chiefs at the offices
to make the employees fresh and healthy food all day (Google). Many workers enjoy their lunches
with their children because most of the companies on the top one hundred list have free or discounted
childcare right on the offices campuses (SAS). These companies believe in finding time to have with
your family and completing your duties at work. Today it is hard to find the balance with family and
career. Now there are companies that understand what employees face and try to help find the balance.
Companies are also allowing employees to work out and swim at the huge gyms they are building
right inside the office buildings (SAS). The employees are encouraged to use the gym or maybe have a
massage by a masseuse employed by the company. Sounds nice, huh? Oh and they encourage all of
these activities while still on the clock. These top companies also have discounts to

Toothpaste And Its Effects On The Body
Toothpaste is for everyone who has teeth, but this toothpaste in particular is for adults, teens, or
tweens. The reason I say adults over the different generations is that the time in one s life where their
teeth start falling out or are removed is different for everyone. Some people with false teeth may
continue to use this product, although there are special products used to clean dentures that are more
effective. Adults who want whiter teeth without the damaging effects of a whitening toothpaste would
use this product. Also, there has been a trend in toothpastes that benefit the enamel, causing Crest to
follow the trend by introducing a toothpaste that does not damage or cause sensitivity to the teeth.
Teens and tweens may begin using the toothpaste when their parent buys it or they may experiment
with toothpastes to find something they like over what their parents buy. Generally, grown children
buy the same or opposite products as their parents, so depending on the child either case is possible.
This product is not gender specific, but uses the want of both genders to look appealing and be
healthy. Ethnicity and lifestyle do not determine whether a person will buy this product either,
although the flavor may be more appealing to people with certain cultural backgrounds. People
looking for an all natural or green product would not be the target market for this Crest toothpaste,
neither would those living a simple lifestyle. People that do not normally interact with

Titration Investigation Essay examples
Titration Investigation
Aim:
The aim of my investigation is to determine the solubility of calcium Hydroxide solution with the aid
of the titration process.
Titration can be defined as the method of determining the concentration of a substance in solution by
adding to it a standard reagent of known concentration in carefully measured amounts until a reaction
of definite and known proportion is completed, as shown by a color change or by electrical
measurement, and then calculating the unknown concentration.
An example could be, a given volume of a solution of unknown acidity may be titrated with a base of
known concentration until complete neutralization has occurred. This point is ... Show more content

From the pH at the equivalence point, the dissociation constant of the acidic or basic group can be
determined (see chemical equilibrium). If a compound contains several different acidic or basic
groups, the titration curve will show several sigmoid shaped curves like steps and the dissociation
constant of each group can be obtained from the pH at its corresponding equivalence point.
I have now explained the basis of the Titration methodology; I will now have to choose the
appropriate compounds in order to make sure that the experiment is carried out in the appropriate
manner. I will now display a table containing the different compunds for my availability:
Strong acid
Weak acid
Strong alkali
Weak alkali
Hydrochloric acid
Ethanoic acid
Sodium Hydroxide
Ammonia solution
Nitric acid
Ethandioic acid
Potassium Hydroxide
Sodium Catbonate
Sulphuric acid
Calcium Hydroxide
Sodium Hydrogen Carbonate
This table will aid us into the right choice of indicator. The reason for doing so is that some aspects of
the Titration process have to be very accurate. Depending upon the strength of an alkali and acid the
right indicator is chosen:
* A Titration between a strong acid and a weak alkali requires a methyl orange

Middlesex By Jeffrey Eugenides Essay Questions
Middlesex Final Test
Prompt 2: In the event of Cal working for the Sixty Niners in the book Middlesex by Jeffrey
Eugenides, he learns to come to terms with both himself and his gender identity. An example would be
how when Cal joined the Sixty Niners, he met other hermaphrodites like Zora who taught him how to
come to terms with himself and supported him throughout the process. This is shown in the quote
Look at you. No one would ever know. I want people to know, Cal. How come? Zora folded her long
legs under herself. With her fairy s eyes, paisley shaped, blue and glacial looking into mine, she said,
Because we re what s next.(490) Zora explains to Cal why she doesn t try to hide the fact that she s a
hermaphrodite and even ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Prompt 3: The central conflict of the book Middlesex by Jeffrey Eugenides is gender identity which is
shown through Calliope s struggle with determining and accepting her true gender as a hermaphrodite.
The conflict also affects other characters as it causes grief, confusion, and leads to. Calliope s first
encounter with her gender identity crisis was when she develops feelings and sexual attraction to the
Object which is stated in Jerome knew what I was, as suddenly I did, too, for the first time clearly
understood that I wasn t a girl but something in between. I knew this from how natural it had felt to
enter Rex Reese s body, how right it felt, and I knew this from the shocked expression on Jerome s
face (375). The experience of having intercourse with Jerome and fantasizing being in Rex s position
shows that Calliope isn t just a female but something in between and that adds more to her suspicion
and confusion of her actual gender. This also affects other characters as it leads up to Calliope having
a sexual relationship with the Object which reveals the Object s true feelings towards Calliope and her
actual sexuality. She also has another encounter with her gender identity when she discovers that she s
biologically a boy who had been raised as a girl. In the file by Dr. Luce, it describes Calliope s
condition with the description As the girl s gender identity was firmly established as female at that
time

How Drugs Destroy Athletic Ability
The human body can do a magnitude of activities, from running to climbing to lifting extremely heavy
objects that can all go away in the blink of an eye by using drugs. One of the key things to a healthy
and athletic human is cardiovascular ability, or the strength of the heart and how efficient it is
pumping blood throughout the body. Just by preforming around thirty minutes of exercise a day, can
improve the body s cardiovascular health drastically. Just by preforming that little bit of exercise a day
the body can reduce in fatty weight. The cholesterol levels drastically change too by increasing in
HDL (good cholesterol) and decreasing in LDL (bad and total cholesterol) . The body s blood pressure
also changes for the better because ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
After a couple of weeks or so of drinking alcohol it begins to put strain on the heart mostly because of
weight gain. While drinking alcohol it blunts the nervous system down and the body loses most or
almost all of muscle control. Alcohol does not exactly destroy muscle but weight gain makes it harder
to exercise, so lack of exercise could be a reason for muscles to whiter away. A lot of athletes use meth
to decrease body fat. This can be done because of the drastic changes in the body s metabolism. The
drug is used because of the effects on the human brain. It releases stimulants in the brain to make it
seem like the body is having an adrenaline rush. The only plus side to meth is that it helps ADHD by
giving the opposite affect to people that have that condition. A normal person who does not have
ADHD makes them almost go insane. Meth is super addictive and a lot of times the person doing the
drug will commit extremely violent acts to acquire money to buy more of the mid priced drug. The
person can have extreme mood swings and become depressed or even suicidal. Panic attacks can acre
because the person doing the drug is expecting something and it doesn t happen. The body starts to
lose control of the muscles and the body. The person can start to have ticks close to Parkinson s or
turrets. Also permanent brain damage and nervous system damage can occur just by doing the drug

  • 2. Pros And Cons Of John Muir John Muir is best known for his efforts to preserve the wilderness of the United States, which greatly contributed to the preservation of countless natural areas of the US through the National Parks Service. During his travels across the country and abroad, Muir recorded his thoughts and beliefs about nature and the fundamental connection people share with the earth. By voyaging into the wild and shedding the restraints and ideals of modern society, Muir argues that people can expand their understanding of the world and experience life to its full potential through immersing themselves in nature. First and foremost a researcher of the environment, Muir believed that by spending time in nature, he could more deeply understand the earth and all of the knowledge it has to offer. During one of his numerous expeditions in the Yosemite Valley in 1869, Muir remarks that ...these lawless wanderings will be valuable as suggestive beginnings... if I should return to the awkward rules laws of civilization be buried as a strand into the thick of society. He knows that if he returns to civilization, his excursions will be no more than beginnings of research that will serve no real purpose. He further comments that, These sweet free roamings be as little chinks seams on life s horizon whence I may obtain narrow glimpses of the treasures of the Kingdoms of Nature beyond. Just as the horizon blocks out sunlight, Muir argues that civilization blocks out the opportunity to discover ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Identifying Problem Areas Of Brazil Identifying Problem Areas in Brazil When moving into international markets, it is crucial to investigate the major types of difficulties that can arise in other countries. Businesses experience setbacks or failure when they attempt to move into international markets. The major components that contribute to lack of success include errors in pricing, distribution, market analysis, or packaging, but may also result from an insufficient understanding of the infrastructure and culture of the trading nation. Costing It is essential to calculate the complete cost of a product for any business. Poor roads and a limited rail network push up freight costs. High interest rates mean firms must over spend on financing; high crime adds heavy security costs to their overheads. A terrible education system makes Brazil the world s second hardest place for firms to find the skills they need, according to Manpower Group, behind only ageing Japan. Soaring labour costs, which have doubled in a decade as big hikes to the minimum wage set the tone for pay negotiations across the board, have added a new ingredient to the old recipe. Big price differences mean imports are increasingly taking market share from locals and even Brazilians of relatively modest means have taken to stocking up on foreign shopping trips. A recent weakening of the currency will give local manufacturers some breathing space, but in the long term the only solution is to become more efficient. The World Bank s annual report on doing business in a range of countries reads like a productivity to do list for Brazil: make it simpler to start up and wind up companies; cut and streamline taxes; increase domestic savings and investment. A recent study by the Boston Consulting Group estimated that three quarters of Brazil s growth in the past decade came from adding more workers and only a quarter from productivity gains. • 4. Energy Price Volatility With Regards Natural Gas Executive Summary In this paper, energy price volatility with regards natural gas will be expounded on the essentials of market requisites. The report explains a number of factors that lead to price differences in the market and price volatility implications to oil and gas companies and industry. Supply and demand factors play a major role in shaping natural gas prices but factors such as war, environment and OPEC contribute to price differentials. Value at Risk (VaR) evaluates and quantifies risk for the industry as a risk management tool. Introduction Global economy is driven by energy markets. Energy does not only play a significant role in consumer products but also an important input in nearly all the industries. (Efimova O. and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Finally, recommendations and a conclusion made on natural gas price volatility based on the analysis and information discussed in this report. Overview Huntington H. G. 2009 mentions that recent changes in natural gas market are attributed to market forces and organizations operating in the industry. As the industry develops into new end user markets and producers, prices adjust according to the changes in the market. Due to the key roles of energy influence on global economic welfare, pricing is fundamental for correct and efficient choice of appropriate energy source. (Davis L. W. and Muehlegger E. 2010). Energy Information Administration (EIA) 2014 says the total gas consumption within industrial and electric power sectors in the U.S. will improve from 25.6 trillion cubic feet (Tcf) in 2012 to 31.6Tcf in 2040. Natural gas usage escalates in all sectors apart from residential due to population movement to warmer areas (EIA 2014) figure 1. For instance, in 2010 approximately 25% of energy consumed in the U.S. came from natural gas (Lv X. and Shan X. 2013). This indicates prices may adjust to demand changes accompanying its usage. This article examines how many myths can be linked to geological evidence. Geologists have been investigating how ancient geological phenomenon are able to shed light on the origins of many myths. Scientist have even uncovered evidence that may serve as the inspiration for biblical stories. These myths have led scientist to believe that the explosion is reoccurring. The Genesis flood store describes a large scale flood that covers all of the mountains and rids the world of man and his wicked flesh. It has been argued that the rising sea level of the Mediterranean, which followed the last deglaciation covered what is now the Bosporus Strait and flowed into the Black Sea around 7,600 years ago. It is thought that this massive flood served as the inspiration for the great flood described in The Book of Genesis. While this evidence is not conclusive it adds a new perspective on flood stories. Atrahasis is a creation and flood story that is much older but it is now reasonable to wonder if this too was not based on an actual flood. Currently, there is no evidence directly linking the myth to actual flooding. However, it was common for the Tigris and Euphrates rivers to flood during the time of this myths creation. Ninsun, the mother of Gilgamesh, reminds them of how Enkidu has no brother and no family and it makes Enkidu sad. Gilgamesh hated seeing his friend hurt so he proposes they go fight the ferocious Humbaba, the mystical monster in the Forest of Cedar. Enkidu advises against going on the quest. • 9. My Boyhood At the beginning of my boyhood, I did not pay much attention to Islam and to its prophet. Things started to change when I was sent to a Koranic school called Salman Al Farsi in Sharjah. There, I started wholeheartedly memorizing verses of the Koran with other children in a circle around the recitation teacher. I had to remember the verses by heart unless I wanted to face my teacher s wrath. During this time, I learned a great deal about Islam and its teachings. Everything seemed to center around the greatest human that ever existed. I was taught Mohammed s mannerisms in terms of how he eats, how he sleeps, walks, talks, and every minute detail of his life. We were taught to be unhealthily obsessed with living life like he did, from what to think down to how he defecates and urinates. That was who I aspired to be. I wanted to be the best, and I was constantly reminded of who to emulate to achieve that. Yet, I struggled with following his example and denying myself the joys of life. During the Koranic lessons, I would gaze at the other pupils faces. It started out of boredom, but then developed to admiration of certain faces. It wasn t sexual at that point; I was too young. I just stared admiring the beauty of some of the other boys faces, and I wanted those boys to notice me. The resulting solution was placed on a hot plate and was steadily boiled until the solution reached 85°C, or until the solution reached a gentle boil (it was emphasized that the solution should be heated slowly, in order to maximize the efficiency of the reaction). While this was occurring, a separate solution was prepared from 5.1 g (0.032 mol) of potassium permanganate and 20 mL of boiling water, which were placed in a separate 250 mL beaker, which was placed on a slowly heating hot plate (in order to keep the solution as warm as possible, but not warm enough that the water could evaporate). It was observed that this solution was characterized by a very distinct purple color, and a small amount of precipitate could be observed at the bottom of the beaker. Once the p acetotoluidide solution had reached a gentle boil, it was vigorously stirred with a stirring rod, and every so often (about every 5 minutes) a small portion of the potassium permanganate solution was added to the solution; at this point, it was emphasized that the potassium permanganate solution, or the oxidizing agent, should be added in small ... China Economy CHINA AN ECONOMIC OVERVIEW The rapid rise of China as a major economic power within a time span of about three decades is often described by analysts as one of the greatest economic success stories in modern times. From 1980 to 2011, real GDP grew 19 fold in real terms, real per capita GDP increased 14 fold, and an estimated 500 million people were raised out of extreme poverty. To support rapid industrialization, the central government undertook large scale investments in physical and human capital during the 1960s and 1970s. As a result, by 1978 nearly three fourths of industrial production was produced by centrally controlled, state owned enterprises (SOEs), according to centrally planned output targets. Private enterprises and foreign invested firms were generally barred. A central goal of the Chinese government was to make China s economy relatively self sufficient. Foreign trade was generally limited to obtaining only those goods that could not be made or obtained in China. Government policies kept the Chinese economy relatively stagnant and inefficient, mainly because most aspects of the economy were managed and run by the central government (and thus there were few profit incentives for firms, workers, and farmers), competition was virtually nonexistent, foreign trade and investment flows were mainly limited to Soviet bloc countries, and price and production controls caused widespread distortions in the economy. Chinese living standards were substantially lower than those of many other developing countries. The Chinese government in 1978 (shortly after the death of Chairman Mao in 1976) decided to break with its Soviet style economic policies by gradually reforming the economy according to free market principles and opening up trade and investment with the West, in the hope that this would significantly increase economic growth and raise ... It allows students with disabilities to learn side by side with those who are not disabled. This is achieved by providing an array of experiences that all students are able to participate and be successful in a regular classroom. Inclusion has been a topic of debate for centuries. Some experts conclude that inclusion within classrooms is beneficial to all students. In contrast, others argue that inclusion within classrooms is problematic to achieve and could become detrimental to some students. Students with disabilities should be educated alongside their neighborhood peers unless the differences between the two are so great that even with extra support; the regular classroom is not able to meet the disabled student s various needs. Most schools today have disabled and non disabled students in the same school but separate their classrooms. This shows that extrinsic context effects recall and supports the encoding specificity principle. The medium of notes is a form of extrinsic context, like the environments, test score will be higher if the medium of notes and test where to be congruent. In an experiment looking at associative memory context, participants where presented a word or a word pair with strong or weak association, they then had to recognize the words from a test list (Tulving, Thomson 1971). They summarized their results saying, with availability of stored information held constant, recognition of a previously seen item depends upon its context at the time of the test, recognition being higher if test context matches the input context than if the input context is removed or altered. Here a different form of context aids recognition memory. The medium of notes is not the same type of extrinsic context as the environments from Duncan Godden and Alan Baddeley (1980) experiment on recognition memory on scuba ... Most homes contain at least one video game system. There are plenty of companies involved in the rapidly growing gaming industry. These companies ensure a wide variety of types and genres of video games exist in the world today, and most people, including adults, will have very little difficulty identifying precisely which game is their favourite. The fact of the matter is, nearly every child has easy access to video games; playing these games has to have some impact on the children. Not all of the effects from playing video games are definitively positive or negative. Children happen to be the intended audience for many video games. Companies create these games to be kid friendly, and kids are able to learn from the content of the games. There is much that can be learned from and skills that can be improved by playing video games. There are many positive outcomes of playing video games; children should be allowed the opportunity to learn both skills and knowledge from video games. Children exposed to video games may socialize differently than those without access to games. Firstly, many communicational skills can be developed from playing video games. The Divine Secrets of the Ya Ya Sisterhood teaches about the importance of giving and receiving love and finding joy in everyday life. Sigmund Freud first wrote about his theory in his book An Interpretation of Dreams in 1899. Simply put, Freud states that it is normal for children to have sexual desires for their parent of the opposite sex. An example of this is when Hamlet says: In the rank sweat of an enseamented bed Stew d (3.4 . l. 93 96) It is possible that here Shakespeare wanted to show how Hamlet s rage brought out all his repressed sexually desires for his mother because of Hamlet s concentration on Gertrude s sex life. The significance of the closet scene taking place in Gertrude s bedroom is also important to look at because the privacy and intimacy of the bedroom add a new dimension when Hamlet s and Gertrude s relationship is examined. The three poems that I have chosen are The Tyger by William Blake, The Eagle by Alfred, Lord Tennyson. Lastly, Pied Beauty by Gerard Manley Hopkins. Alfred Lord Tennyson has used an image of an eagle to give the reader an image of a man standing on a cliff top waiting for his world to fall around him. Burning bright This is an example from The Tyger Metaphors of fire and blazing are emphasize by duplication of the B sound. The B sound makes it stronger and powerful to use. My second choice is Pied Beauty . Gerard Manley Hopkins who was born in 1844 wrote this poem. The poem is tells us about all the different creatures that God has shaped. Explaining how for many belongings in nature there is a contradictory. He is also telling the reader that we should be thankful towards it and the entire God gifted. In the poem, there are uses of some oxymoron s by using them it shows the different extremes that exist within nature. This is similar to the Tyger. In addition, that shows the readers that to keep the balance on the planet God has created an opposite. Adazzle, dim . With swift, slow; sweet, sour He uses animals as one of God s gift for our nature and used them symbolically for the exquisiteness of the planet.

Ponds contain amazing biodiversity, providing an environment for birds, fish, amphibians, alages, protists, and many many more organisms. Alages seemed to be more prominent at the bottom of the pond water sample. Blue green algae can grow without nitrogen and will soon dominate the pond. (3) While looking at blue green algae when looking under the microscope, it was surprising at how little quantity there was. Expecting to find more algae at the other levels, samples of all three layers of the pond water; top, middle, and bottom were taken. Each layer contained nearly the same amount of algae. Expecting to find many protists near the bottom, numerous samples at that layer were taken, only to find them dominated by blue green algae. This find was not expected. The lack of Protist activity could be due to the temperature of the water and season when the pond water sample was collected. The colder temperatures in winter, along with reduced light, can lead to less and slower Protist activity. Looking at the hypothesis, it was unclear to the number of algae seen as the pH changed. Algae numbers seemed to be consistent regardless of the pH, or the layer of water which the sample was taken. For future experiments, it would be helpful if there was alage measurements as far as quantity of algae. Since the pH remained consistent and did not fluctuate, there was no way of determining the alages numbers. Proper measurements are crucial when trying to determine the legitimacy of a hypothesis. 7 Conclusion In conclusion, ponds are bodies of water that are normally smaller than a lake, that ... However, the point supports the idea that art, including literature, allows the public to experience something like the Holocaust that otherwise would be not be available to experience. On the other hand, Miller successfully argues that fake memoirs are meant to highlight the problematic nature of authenticity and capitalism has changed the idea of what we think is real and what is not. By citing Baudrillard, Miller states that our idea of real is only a series of representations that we think are real. In fact, all our ideas of reality are fabrications because memory is not factual. The discovery of these fake memoirs can cause society to realize that all memoirs are, in fact, fabrications. With that in mind, this article contradicts the idea that the public can understand trauma through experiencing art. Overall, Stylised Configurations of Trauma contributes to the art, trauma, and memory theme through proving that the study of fraudulent memoirs can help explain the strange expectation that literature is able to provide access to something ... • 44. Toothpaste And Its Effects On The Body Toothpaste is for everyone who has teeth, but this toothpaste in particular is for adults, teens, or tweens. The reason I say adults over the different generations is that the time in one s life where their teeth start falling out or are removed is different for everyone. Some people with false teeth may continue to use this product, although there are special products used to clean dentures that are more effective. Adults who want whiter teeth without the damaging effects of a whitening toothpaste would use this product. Also, there has been a trend in toothpastes that benefit the enamel, causing Crest to follow the trend by introducing a toothpaste that does not damage or cause sensitivity to the teeth. Teens and tweens may begin using the toothpaste when their parent buys it or they may experiment with toothpastes to find something they like over what their parents buy. Generally, grown children buy the same or opposite products as their parents, so depending on the child either case is possible. This product is not gender specific, but uses the want of both genders to look appealing and be healthy. Ethnicity and lifestyle do not determine whether a person will buy this product either, although the flavor may be more appealing to people with certain cultural backgrounds. People looking for an all natural or green product would not be the target market for this Crest toothpaste, neither would those living a simple lifestyle. People that do not normally interact with ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Titration Investigation Essay examples Titration Investigation Aim: The aim of my investigation is to determine the solubility of calcium Hydroxide solution with the aid of the titration process. Titration can be defined as the method of determining the concentration of a substance in solution by adding to it a standard reagent of known concentration in carefully measured amounts until a reaction of definite and known proportion is completed, as shown by a color change or by electrical measurement, and then calculating the unknown concentration. An example could be, a given volume of a solution of unknown acidity may be titrated with a base of known concentration until complete neutralization has occurred. This point is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... From the pH at the equivalence point, the dissociation constant of the acidic or basic group can be determined (see chemical equilibrium). If a compound contains several different acidic or basic groups, the titration curve will show several sigmoid shaped curves like steps and the dissociation constant of each group can be obtained from the pH at its corresponding equivalence point. I have now explained the basis of the Titration methodology; I will now have to choose the appropriate compounds in order to make sure that the experiment is carried out in the appropriate manner. I will now display a table containing the different compunds for my availability: Strong acid Weak acid Strong alkali Weak alkali Hydrochloric acid Ethanoic acid Sodium Hydroxide Ammonia solution

Calliope s first encounter with her gender identity crisis was when she develops feelings and sexual attraction to the Object which is stated in Jerome knew what I was, as suddenly I did, too, for the first time clearly understood that I wasn t a girl but something in between. I knew this from how natural it had felt to enter Rex Reese s body, how right it felt, and I knew this from the shocked expression on Jerome s face (375). The experience of having intercourse with Jerome and fantasizing being in Rex s position shows that Calliope isn t just a female but something in between and that adds more to her suspicion and confusion of her actual gender. This also affects other characters as it leads up to Calliope having a sexual relationship with the Object which reveals the Object s true feelings towards Calliope and her actual sexuality. • 48. How Drugs Destroy Athletic Ability The human body can do a magnitude of activities, from running to climbing to lifting extremely heavy objects that can all go away in the blink of an eye by using drugs. One of the key things to a healthy and athletic human is cardiovascular ability, or the strength of the heart and how efficient it is pumping blood throughout the body. Just by preforming around thirty minutes of exercise a day, can improve the body s cardiovascular health drastically. Just by preforming that little bit of exercise a day the body can reduce in fatty weight. After a couple of weeks or so of drinking alcohol it begins to put strain on the heart mostly because of weight gain. While drinking alcohol it blunts the nervous system down and the body loses most or almost all of muscle control. Alcohol does not exactly destroy muscle but weight gain makes it harder to exercise, so lack of exercise could be a reason for muscles to whiter away. A lot of athletes use meth to decrease body fat. This can be done because of the drastic changes in the body s metabolism. The drug is used because of the effects on the human brain. It releases stimulants in the brain to make it seem like the body is having an adrenaline rush.
