This document discusses wrinkles and treatments to avoid them. It begins by defining cosmetics and cosmeceuticals. It then classifies cosmeceuticals and discusses anti-aging and the types of wrinkles. There are four main types of wrinkles: atrophic crinkling rhytids caused by collagen and elasticity loss; permanent elastic creases from repeated facial expressions; dynamic expression lines from muscle movements; and gravitational folds from aging and gravity. Treatments discussed include prescription and herbal creams containing ingredients like retinol, hyaluronic acid, and antioxidants to exfoliate, hydrate, and rebuild collagen. Several herbal cosmeceutical formulations using ingredients like aloe vera

We all have good and bad thoughts from time to time and situation to situation. We are bombarded daily with spiraling thoughts(both negative and positive) creating all-consuming feel , making us difficult to manage with associated suffering. Good thoughts are like our Mob Signal (Positive thought) amidst noise(negative thought) in the atmosphere. Negative thoughts like noise outweigh positive thoughts. These thoughts often create unwanted confusion, trouble, stress and frustration in our mind as well as chaos in our physical world. Negative thoughts are also known as “distorted thinking”.

He discussed the concept of quality improvement, emphasizing its applicability to various aspects of life, including personal, project, and program improvements. He defined quality as doing the right thing at the right time in the right way to achieve the best possible results and discussed the concept of the "gap" between what we know and what we do, and how this gap represents the areas we need to improve. He explained the scientific approach to quality improvement, which involves systematic performance analysis, testing and learning, and implementing change ideas. He also highlighted the importance of client focus and a team approach to quality improvement.

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

3. INTRODUCTION….
About Cosmetics
• The word natural products is defined as existing in (or) caused by nature
,cultivated (or) uncultivated , not artificial , wild existing in natural state .
• The word COSMETICS arises from a greek word ‘KOSMETICOS’ which
means to adorn ( more attractive ).
• Cosmetics are used to enhance and alter the appearance of the face or
fragrance and texture of the body. Many cosmetics are designed for use
of applying to the face, hair, and body. They are generally mixtures of
chemical compounds; some being derived from natural sources, and
some being synthetics or artificial.
4. WHAT IS COSMECEUTICALS….. ?
•Cosmeceuticals are cosmetic products with biologically active
ingredients purporting to have medical or drug-like benefits.
• The term “cosmeceutical” was introduced by dermatologist Dr
Albert Kligman in 1984 and is derived from a combination of
the words cosmetic and pharmaceutical.
• Cosmeceuticals are products that have both cosmetic and
therapeutic (medical or drug-like) effects, and are intended to
have a beneficial effect on skin health and beauty. Like
cosmetics, they are applied topically as creams or lotions but
contain active ingredients that have an effect on skin cell
function.
5. • Cosmeceuticals are available “over-the-counter” (without
prescription) and are generally used as part of a regular skin
care regime to help improve skin tone and texture, pigmentation
and fine lines.

8. Anti aging
• The General aging process, which is genetically determined
and occurs by the passing of time, is called Intrinsic skin
aging or the chronological aging process, where as the
skin aging process induced by environmental factors is called
Extrinsic skin aging.
• Intrinsic aging occurs as a natural result of aging; it affects
the skin on the entire body, including the photoprotected
areas in a similar manner. Intrinsic aging can be considered
as a slow, continuous, and irreversible tissue degradation .
However, people of identical chronological age may appear to
have younger- or older-looking skin.
9. • The Intrinsically aged skin can be characterized primarily by
functional alterations, such as thinning of the dermis, degeneration
of the elastin network, and loss of hydration.
• Extrinsic aging can be defined as the acceleration of intrinsic aging
caused by exposure to various environmental factors, such as sun,
wind, smoking, and air pollutants . The primary factors causing
human skin aging are UV radiation from the sun as well as
smoking.
oIt has been known that smoking leads to
premature aging, i.e., smokers in general look
older than their chronological age. It is more
interesting, however, that smoking has been
shown to be a great contributor to facial wrinkling
than sun exposure
DID YOU
KNOW….??

11. WRINKLES
• Wrinkle are also known as a Rhytide, is a fold, ridge or
crease in the skin or on fabric. Skin wrinkles typically appear
as a result of aging processes such as Glycation, habitual
sleeping positions , loss of body mass, or temporarily, as the
result of prolonged immersion in water. Age wrinkling in the
skin is promoted by habitual facial expressions , aging, sun
damage, smoking , poor hydration, and various other factors.
12. Types of wrinkles……..
1. Atrophic Crinkling Rhytids :
• These wrinkles are those little parallel lines that disappear
when our skin is stretched taut.
• They can occur on our face, or anywhere on our body
What Causes Them
• These lines are a result of a loss of collagen and elasticity
which leads to skin sagging.
• Sun damage UV exposure unleashes free radicals in our skin
that break down collagen and elastin, the building blocks that
give our skin firmness and structure.
13. 2. Permanent Elastic Creases
• These are crease lines that end up becoming permanent
wrinkles as we age . The little lines tend to show up on our
cheeks, upper lip, and the base of our necks.
• Smoking is also a big factor in deepening these creases, like
those lines you get around your lips from repeatedly pursing
your mouth.
3. Dynamic Expression Lines
• These fun lines are the ones which we get from repeated facial
muscle movements that cause creases in the skin that become
more permanent.
14. • They usually show up around the mouth, eyes, and forehead.
• What Causes Them - we get these lines from basically living our
life and being a human being . They’re like a collection of little
moments from every time we squinted on a sunny day, laughed at
an inside joke, or frowned when a character gets killed off on your
favourite show.
Unless you want to become a robot and stop expressing yourself,
you’re gonna get these lines and creases on your face.
4. Gravitational Folds
• These are those wrinkles that occur
naturally with age as our skin loses
structure and starts tofold and sag.
What Causes Them As the name suggests,
time + gravity = gravitational folds.
We can chalk this one up to good ol ’ aging. As we get older, our
skin starts to lose collagen and elastin leading to wrinkling and
sagging.
15. Treatment to avoid wrinkles….???
• If we want to get some wrinkle-smoothing power out of your skincare, we
should look for the formulas that include these age-defying ingredients
which are…
• Retinol The vitamin A derivative, retinol, smooth's skin by gently exfoliating
to lift away dead skin cells and encourage new cell turnover.
• EG: tretinoin cream ,ROC Retinol correxion deep wrinkle cream
• Hyaluronic Acid Fine lines and wrinkles are made more apparent when
your skin is dry or dehydrated.
Hyaluronic acid is a mega moisture
humectant, which means it grabs moisture
and holds it to your skin’s surface to deliver
hydration
16. • Antioxidants are the superheroes that swoop to defeat that
sun damage can cause free radicals to break down collagen
and it helps to support skin healing by encouraging cell repair
and rebuilding collagen and elastin.
EG : L- ASCORBIC ACID CREAM 20%
• Peptides are chains of amino acids which make up the skin
protein, collagen . By applying peptides product we’re
rebuilding up the blocks of collagen to fortify skin and bring
back its firmness.

Editor's Notes
Today , most consumers are familiar with the aging process and its visible signs. It is known that young individuals have soft, smooth, and supple skin, which becomes less elastic, tougher, uneven , and wrinkled over the years. Aging of the skin is influenced by two separate processes.
Glycation (sometimes called non-enzymatic glycosylation) is the result of the covalent bonding of a sugar molecule, such as glucose or fructose, to a protein or lipid molecule, without the controlling action of an enzyme. Glycation may occur either inside the body (endogenous glycation) or outside the body (exogenous glycation). It is a haphazard process that impairs the functioning of biomolecules, and does not require the expenditure of ATP (the energy storing molecule).
Whenever you smoke, you expose the surface of your skin to all kinds of chemicals and carcinogens.
Plus, when you inhale, you inhibit your body’s ability to circulate oxygen to your skin, which it needs to heal and form healthy skin cells (one of the reasons smoking often results in a dull complexion).
RETINOL : . This, in turn, also encourages collagen production to firm up skin and diminish fine lines. Retinol and retinoid can make skin sensitive to sunlight.
HYALURONIC ACID :. This moisture action also helps plump skin to fill out fine lines and restore suppleness to your complexion!
AHA – alpha hydroxy acid, grapes seed contains natural anti oxidant
Biotique; to keep skin soft, supple and free from dry lines and wrinkle
