between the four texts I read was the theme we all have savagery in us and when the rules are
removed it takes over . I believe everyone has savagery deep within and that when put in tough or

when the rules are removed it takes over because when he becomes surrounded he resorts to his
animal instinct. The short story is about a man who has just left what I perceive to be a civilized
city and has gone through big metal gates into the wasteland. We can see aspects of the theme in
the quote So trapped was he that he was filled suddenly with strength and anger. The quote is an
example of him acting on his animal instincts. We can see a connection between this and The
lord of the flies because in The Lord of the Flies when Simon gives the boys a fright they lash out

Supply Chain Management: The JIT inventory model may assist in being more efficient in the
way we handle supply chains and use our parts to assemble products. We can provide lower costs
throughout the manufacturing process; which can be passed on to our customers. With our lower
costs, we could produce a more affordable product for our customers and thereby help to stay ahead
of our competitors.
Reduction of Waste: By maintaining our current method we are housing products that go unused
and/or become obsolete. This causes us to sell product at a reduced price often less than cost or we
must dump the product with no money gained at all. The JIT inventory model should help to
address this situation and by housing fewer products in the warehouses we could address our
customer needs quicker and be open to customized orders.
Reduction in Warehouse Costs: It can be costly to keep excess inventory on hand. By moving to
JIT we may be able to reduce the number of warehouses we currently have as well as eliminate
excess storage.
Improved Customer Relations: Adopting the JIT model will allow for better servicing of our
customers. Having greater control of the manufacturing process will make it easier to respond to

A troop of tired soldiers arrive, who clearly need rest and food. In the text it is states that, a few
soldiers came into view, straggling through the thicket and emerging on the far side of the
pumpkin patch. As they halted, waiting for the rest of the troops to catch up, the one who
seemed to be the leader held up his hand in a gesture of greeting. He advanced toward the house,
and Nate could see the lines of fatigue crossing his brow and the silver hair around his deeply
tanned face. Boy, the soldier said, My men need food and shelter for the night. This shows the
hard life of the soldiers and demonstrates what Nate felt when he first saw the troop and
commander. After meeting the commander, Nate s thoughts and mindset become more positive.
This is because Nate realized there was more than one way of helping a cause. Moreover, he
realized that he was helping the cause by feeding the troops. When picking through potatoes for the

Lily Bart, the protagonist of an Edith Wharton novel titled The House of Mirth, experiences
numerous hardships throughout her life. She is a twenty nine year old bachelorette who strives to
be wealthy; she was raised by very prosperous parents who conditioned her to hate dinginess but is
not fortunate enough to live a lifestyle tantamount to the one her parents had as adults. Many times
throughout the novel, the people in which Lily Bart associate try to lend her a helping hand.
However, more often than not, Bart does not accept their gestures or does not take their advice

Before her mother and father had died, she was raised very properly by her mother who hated
dinginess and believed one must always present themselves nicely. The narrator remarks, ...she
had been brought up in the faith that, whatever it cost, one must have a good cook, and be what
Mrs. Bart called decently dressed (34). Therefore, Bart always wanted the nicest things and was
never conditioned to live in a world without them. When her parents die and she ends up living
with her aunt, Mrs. Julia Peniston, she is not accustom to not having money at her disposal.
Mrs. Peniston sends her checks at random times and it is hard for Bart to do things like spend
time at Bellomont with her wealthy peers when she does not have nearly enough money as she
would like. When Mrs. Peniston dies at the end of book one, it is written in her will that Lily
Bart shall receive only $10,000 whereas her cousin, Grace Stepney received Mrs. Peniston s
whole estate. Although Mrs. Peniston only gives Bart $10,000 due to the fact that she is furious
with her about her gambling debts and other things she has heard about her, Bart is not able to
control this. The way Lily Bart was raised and Mrs. Peniston s not so generous gesture make it
hard for Bart to recover from her already descending
