Do you enjoy eating curry, but do not know how to make it? Or rather, you do not
know how to cook, but would like to learn? Whatever the reason is, there is nothing
better than taking control of what you put in your food, and knowing how fresh the
ingredients are. By cooking something fresh and delicious at the comfort of your very
own kitchen, it just makes eating that much more enjoyable.
The ingredients are simple. The flavors are exquisite. The best part is, you save
money, and you do not even have to be a chef to make a dish as simple as this curry
dish. Furthermore, I have included the video on how Anim s Homemade Chicken
Curry dish was made below. Please take a moment to watch the video if you have not

As far as the curry goes, I have always been a fan. Growing up in an Asian
household with eight other siblings, curry was a no brainer. You can make as
much, or as little as you want. The good thing is, it can all be made in the same pot
one step at a time. When you have a family as big as mine, one pot is not going to
feed the entire family. Although, my mom always seems to manage it somehow....

In this essay I will be exploring how the dystopian society in Stanley Kubrick s 1971
film adaptation of Anthony Burgess 1963 novel, A Clockwork Orange has been used
to explore contemporary anxieties. A Clockwork Orange takes place in an outlandish
and dreary vision of future Britain governed by an oppressive, totalitarian super
government. In this society, ordinary people have fallen into a dazed state of
complacency, unaware of the sinister growth of a rampant, violent youth culture.
Anthony Burgess wrote his short novel A Clockwork Orangein 1962 as a way of
coming to terms with the rape of his first wife. The dystopian journey of A
Clockwork Orange is told through the first person account of Alex, the fifteen year

Intent
AMLE 2015
In preparing for the AMLE 2015 National Conference my intent was to get
inspiration, and to find something I could use in class and also share with co teachers
I m in a unique position in that I teach at an online school, ECOT, and much of what
is presented at conferences applies well to a brick and mortar school, but needs
adaptation to work for my classroom and my students. I knew finding information to
meet my classroom requirements might not be easy. I also knew there were a few
sessions I was particularly interested in, for instance Cultivating Resilience and
Perseverance in Students with Rick Wormeli.
The energy during the General Session while Marcia Tate spoke inspired me to go to
her session Worksheets Don t Grow Dendrites: 20 Instructional Strategies that
Engage the Brain. This session was amazing. She taught the session the same way
she was teaching us to teach in our classrooms. Not only did I realize I use many of
the techniques she employed, but I was forced to think about how I can use strategies
such as movement, and Cooperative Learning and Reciprocal Teaching in my online
setting. This first session with Marcia Tate had me looking forward to the afternoon
as I walked out of her session to meet with a coworker for lunch.

Throughout the years, literature has often been used as a means to spread social
critique. When it unfavorable or even dangerous to publicly speak out against the
society of the time, the written word can act as a shield. Adding a mask of fiction
to these novels allows the author to get their message out to the public who
otherwise would not take the time for such issues. Two novels that exemplify this
social critique behind a thin layer of fiction are Looking Backward by Edward
Bellamy and Herland by Charlotte Perkins Gilman. Both of these novels offer a
critique to certain aspects of American society during the time period, and do so in
very similar ways. Each of these novels, Looking Backward and Herland, depict
utopian societies in order to fully illustrate the issues that the authors see in their
