2. The Influence of History on American Literature Essay
A Tale Intended to be After the Fact... is how Stephan Crane introduced his harrowing story, The
Open Boat, but this statement also shows that history influences American Literature. Throughout
history, there has been a connection among literary works from different periods. The connection is
that History, current events, and social events have influenced American Literature. Authors, their
literary works, and the specific writingstyles; are affected and influenced by the world around them.
Authors have long used experiences they have lived through and/or taken out of history to help
shape and express in their works. Writing styles are also affected by the current trends and opinions
of the period they represent. By reading American... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Regionalism and local color writings are each specific types of Realism. They worked to record
a distinctive way of life. Regionalism often showed regional dialect, food, clothing styles and
customs of that time period. Naturalism, like realism, works to accurately portray its subject
matter, but naturalism also works to find the scientific theory. Each of these writing styles have
characteristics that make them stand out from one another but they all seem to also have a
common link of showing life realistically of that time period. It is easy to see that current events
and issues of the world around them have had an impact on authors and what they have written
from the stories in this time period. The Native American authors wrote stories describing life
during and after white man came to America. We read Oratory s by two Native American s
COCHISE and CHARLOT. They gave heart wrenching speeches, giving great details into the
history of the tribes and the devastating effect the white man had on them. Author Zitkala Sa gave
us a powerful interpretation of her life as a Indian and how the white s coming to America affected
her life.
The African American authors of this time period wrote stories describing life during and after
slavery. Real life issues that these authors lived through and experienced through the world around
them. The excerpts that we read of Booker T. Washington s Up From Slavery, told a compelling
tale of his life of being born into

3. How Is Siddhartha Meaningless
Time is a free force and is said to be eternal. Time is a concept that is said to be perceived by the
individual. Time is what moves on, allowing one to grow and reach their peak and achieve
happiness in life. Experience and knowledge allow us to transcend ourselves in a different time.
Different people view timein different aspects, whether it truly exits, whether it is meaningless or
whether it exits beyond our lives. In the novel Siddhartha by Hermann Hesse, time is
conceptualized as meaningless, while in Hemon s article If God Existed, He Would Be A Solid
Midfielder , time is posited as a snapshot that is meaningful and valuable. In the novel Siddhartha

In the novel, Siddhartha is on a journey to find his enlightenment and his happiness in order to
achieve and reach the state of nirvana. On his quest and through his experiences, he runs into a
ferryman at the river who teaches him the ways of life listening to the river. The flow of the
river symbolizes the passing of time and the cycle of life, which ends up being his final teacher ,
leading him to nirvana. The time in which he heard Om, awakened his soul as It was one word,
one syllable (Hesse, 81). It was within this moment his occurrence of rebirth was proposed. It was
at this moment that he realized time doesn t exist and The past now seemed to him to be covered

previous life seemed to him like a remote reincarnation, like an earlier birth of his present self

journey through experience as time brought him to his goal of reaching nirvana. He learned more

Oil spills have often occurred too many times in this world. Unfortunately, when this does
happen, there is always losses of life. Many people are affected by it. There is always a price to
pay. On March 24, 1989 the Exxon Valdez oil tanker spilt all its oil into the ocean.
Going about twelve miles per hour, the doubt of a oil spill was highly unlikely. But, when the oil
tanker hit Bligh Reef in Alaska s Prince William Sound, the worst oil spill in United States history
occurred. Consequently, more than eleven million gallons of oil spued into the ocean. In addition,
more than thirteen hundred miles of shoreline was coated with oil. Furthermore, the slick would

Second, $180 million went towards research, monitoring, and restoration. $392 million went to

science management, public information, and administration. So, who is to blame for the oil spill?
Exxon Valdez skipper Joseph Hazelwood was the ships captain when the oil spill occurred. But,
he blames third mate Greg Cousins, who was on the bridge, failed to turn the tanker away from
Bligh Reef despite orders to do so. Indications show that Hazelwood was intoxicated the night of
the spill. Based on evidence, the skipper had three vodka drinks earlier. He was charged with
piloting the tanker while drunk. He was sentenced to 1,000 hours of community service, was fined
$5,000, and was fired. Has Exxon done anything to prevent another oil spill? The answer is...
Yes, Exxon has done something to prevent another oil spill. In the aftermath of the Exxon Valdez
accident, Exxon redoubled its long time commitment to safeguard the environment, employees, and
operating communities worldwide. To improve the chances of not having another spill happen,
Exxon has modifies its tanker routes. Second, they have instituted drug and alcohol testing
programs for safety sensitive positions. Next,

Why is it that when we flip through a magazine or when the TV screen changes to an
advertisement do we not question the provocative, sexualized images that seem to consistently be
paired with promoting a product? Why has this become the image society associates with beauty?
Young women, and especially women with disabilities, encounter great stress and pressure to look,
act, and dress a specific way based on sexualized images in which they are subject to through the
media, especially media outlets like clothing advertisements featured for the store American

Increasingly, young women are presented not as passive sex objects, but as active, desiring
sexual subjects, who seem to participate enthusiastically in practices and forms of self

play with their sexual power can be daunting to young women who do not feel comfortable acting
in such a way. Viewing advertisements that convene such a message could pressure women to
unwillingly present themselves in a sexual manner. However, if women dress too proactively and
act too promiscuously they are labelled as sluts . Society also promotes, based on midriff advertising
, that a women s worth is based on her body. The body is portrayed in advertising and in many
other parts of the media as the primary source of women s capital (Gill 5). Young women feel

6. Pros And Cons Of The Industrial Revolution
Industrial Revolution The different political systems each have benefits and downfalls.
Communism is where the government controls everything from what car to buy to what color paint
to use in your house. This system had little to no benefits since the government has complete
control. Another system, socialism, is where government has little control but not complete. A
benefit is that things are more equal, but people do not have as much freedom, and still has to
follow the government. The last system which has many benefits is capitalism. Capitalism allows
people to have ownership of things with no government interference. The three political systems,
communism, socialism, and capitalism, are vastly different, in terms of ownership, but capitalism is
the best option because it lets people have private ownership, free competition, and improves
standard of living.
Capitalism allows people to have private ownership of land, factories and businesses. This lets
people own things freely, instead of having the government being involved like the other political
systems do. Having ownership without government control is helpful because you have complete
ownership of your land, and you do not have anyone telling you what to do. The owners have say
in what they produce, how much they produce of that product and how much it would cost. The
government in socialism balances out businesses income, so if you are making a lot of money, the
government will take it away and give it to the

9. Essay about The Nature of God and Morality in The Bible
Religious texts have been one of the main sources for laws and social customs since the
conception of organized religion. Each religious text provides its followers with a code of conduct
they are expected to apply to themselves, their actions, and their institutions. This code of conduct
applies to the individual, as well as to the government and society to within which the people exist,
and ultimately defines what a just society is in the context of that religion. Using stories and
proverbs this code of conduct, and thus just society , is not only set, but also shown in examples. In

The very first value presented with the story of Adam and Eve and the tree of knowledge is that of
obedience to a higher power, in this case God. When Adam and Eve disobeyed God, they were
punished by banishment from the Garden of Eden, as well as a formidable curse To the woman
he said, I will greatly multiply the pain of your childbearing; in pain you shall bring forth
children, yet your desire shall be for your husband, and he shall rule over you. And to Adam he
said, ...cursed is the ground because of you; in toil you shall eat of it all the days of your
life...(p.3 ch.3 16) In punishing Adam the severity of the transgression of disobedience to God
is shown, and thus it is implied that obedience to a higher power is a quality favorable to an
ideal society. Similarly, in the story of Cain and Abel, Cain is cursed and exiled for the murder of
his brother (p.4 ch.4 8). Thus, the act of murder is condemned in an ideal society. In this manner,
the stories within The Bible serve as a manner in which the qualities of an ideal society are
presented.
In The Bible there are multiple ideal societies which are presented, each denoted by the God s
approval of that society and its leader. One of these societies is that portrayed in the story of Saul.
In this story Samuel, a prophet of God, is given the task of revealing Saul, the ruler who is specified

11. Job Enlargement, Rotation And Enrichment
It is important for organizations to understand how job enlargement, rotation and enrichment,
play a critical role in the workplace motivation. Each of these components has a certain level of
similarities and differences that can be helpful or harmful in an organization. According to
Chung and Ross (1977), horizontal job loading is a phrase used to describe job enlargement. It
adds more task elements to an existing job and requires that employees perform large units of
work instead of fragmented portions. Job enlargement could have the ability to improve
employee satisfaction, reduce costs and potentially increase productivity. It can accomplish this
by expanding the responsibilities assigned to one individual. However, while it seems to have
many pros it could also have some setbacks that an organization should be prepared to handle.
Because there are more duties required for the same job, an employee may experience a level of
exhaustion over time. When strategically planning on how job enlargement will benefit various
positions within the company, employees overall physical and mental well being should be
monitored in order to sustain a optimal level of performance and motivation. According to Lawler
(1969), the level of energy required to meet the production rate of jobs that have been enlarged
could decrease the motivation generated by employees overtime. This is not to say that job
enlargement is necessarily bad. It is quite possible that if properly applied, it

This is very intriguing for a society that has a high unemployment rate. Most of Venezuela s
population finds itself educated because public education is provided. Even though education is
free, there is an astounding 20 % of the population that has received no formal education at all.
This is outrageous because Venezuela has a compulsory educational system, which means that
people are required to by law to go to attend school for 9 years. This shows that even though
education is provided for free there are still families so poverty stricken that they are not able to
send their children to school; because they need to work to provide more support for the
families. The children that do go through the public education system can attend Universities
which are also free. Although the education in Venezuela is provided for free, this is also a
reason why the education system is not the greatest. Providing education from grade school
through college stretches educational funds thin, which results in each level of education being
under funded. It has already been established that the majority of the people of Venezuela are

If the surrogate receives monetary compensation, it is called commercial surrogacy. If no payment

In 1912, a forward thinking U.S. Army military leader, Captain Alexander E. Williams persuaded
Quartermaster General James B. Aleshire, to approve an elaborate off road military convoy
operations test, (FourbyFour, 2016). The test evaluated the viability of motorized trucks as
replacements for mules and wagons.
Captain Williams visited several factories; Ford, Mack, Aldcn Sampson, Garford, White and the

companies only Mack, White and FWD fielded trucks that withstood the rigors of the exercise(s).
A subsequent test involved supplying a provisional regiment throughout a one hundred and fifteen

17. Gender As A Product Of Socialisation
Australian sociologist, Connell, has provided theories in order to aid in understanding the way in
which gender is manifested and shapes the experience of illness. Her Gender, Health and Theory
publication ultimately views gender as a product of socialisation (Connell, 2012). According to
Connell, Gender is seen as the active social process that brings reproductive bodies into history,
generating health consequences not as a side effect but in the making of genderitself (Connell, 2012,
p.1675). Her work ultimately emphasises that gender differences are formed by the expectations of
society, confining the ways in which males and females should act (Connell, 2012). Connell s
Masculinities theory furthers this concept. She defines masculinity as a set of perceived notions
and principles about the way in which men should or are expected to act (Connell, 1995). She
highlights that society dictates ways of being masculine and unmasculine, with unmasculine
typically insinuating femininity (Connell, 1995). She also argues that the terms masculine and
feminine point beyond categorical sex difference to the ways men differ among themselves, and
women differ among themselves, in matters of gender (Connell, 1995, p.69). Masculinities are
often favored over femininities, as men in general are paid better, enjoy more social freedom and
hold other benefits that women do not due to their gender (Connell, 1995). Therefore, women as a
group typically lack the societal power that

As a leader, it is important to mentor new leaders within your organization. Encouraging
confidence in the new leaders will help establish competence in their field. Competence can also
be achieved when an education has been invested in the new leader s future. With the new
knowledge of skills and education, the new leader will feel self confident in the leadershipposition.
After the establishment of self confidence, the mentoring of the new leader must continue to set a
precedent of continued support. The continued support will further strengthen the new leaders in
their capabilities.
Encourage Confidence in New Leaders Common causes that can contribute to a new leader
feeling inadequate include, a lack of resources and lack of knowledge to feel confident in their
new position. These concerns could lead to feeling overwhelmed and could sabotage the
performance of the new leader. Unfortunately, when resources are available, but the leader still

Autocorrelation
Autocorrelation is defined as the correlation between the value of time series at a specific time
and previous values of the same series (Reference). In other words, with time series what happens
in time t contains information about what will happen at time t+1. Autocorrelation plots are a
commonly used tool for checking randomness in a data set. This randomness is ascertained by
computing autocorrelations for data values at varying time lags. If random, such autocorrelations
should be near zero for any and all time lag separations. If non random, then one or more of the
autocorrelations will be significantly non zero. The autocorrelation plots can provide answers to
questions such as are the data random? Is an observation related to an adjacent observation? Is the
observed time series white noise, sinusoidal or autoregressive? They help in understanding the
underlying relationship between the data points. The autocorrelation plots of 4 time series of
heating operating system are as follows :
a. Supply temperature setpoint : The plot starts with a high correlation at lag 1 which is slightly less
than 1 and slowly declines. It continues to decrease until it becomes negative and starts showing an
increasing negative correlation. The decreasing autocorrelation is generally linear with little noise.
Such a pattern in the autocorrelation plot is a signature of strong autocorrelation , which in turn
provides high predictability if modeled properly. b. System

Justification of Revolt The American colonists came to North America to part from Britain and
its monarchy. They called America the New World, a land for new beginnings. The King, or the
Royal Brute of Great Britain, thought of the New World as a token in which he could benefit
from. He used America for its cotton, gold, and to show that Britain was the most powerful
country. King George III took advantage of the colonists and America s resources. The colonists
wished to separate from Great Britain and had enough spirit to be able to win the war. The
American colonists were justified in breaking away from Britain and initiating the Revolutionary
War because parliament was passing absurd laws and acts, withdrawing colonial freedom, and

22. Contraception In The Twentieth Century
In the twentieth century men relied on condoms made from animal intestines, and women relied on
douches that were made by household items. Pennyroyal and savin were used as methods of
abortion by being inserted into the vagina. Contraception in the twentieth century was nothing close
to the way it is now. Contraception is the purposeful use of artificial methods or techniques to
prevent pregnancy. In the twentieth century there was a movement to make birth controlavailable
for women all around. The birth control movement which was led by Margaret Sangerplayed a huge
role in the twentieth century and in bringing attention to the women s health movement and their
right to have control over their own bodies. According to the article, Ancient Chinese
Contraceptive Choices, long before the movement Chinese women drank mercury and lead which
often led to death instead of as a way of contraception. In Europe, women were advised to wear the

23. Rudyard Kipling s The Man Who Would Be King Essay
Rudyard Kipling s The Man who Would Be King deals with man s ability to rule. The character
Dravot s success and failure in ruling derives from the perception of him as a god, instead of a
king. Kipling uses the perception of Dravot as a god to show that though a king can rule as a god,
he becomes a king by being human.
Dravot gains kingly power by being perceived as a god. The perception of him as a god occurs
through his actions and luck. After helping the first village Peachy and he find in Kafiristan,
Dravot takes power from the former leaders. He becomes more than a leader to the people,

proves Dravot as a god, since only the Gods know that (99). Dravot establishes his kingdom by
ruling as a god, not a king.
Dravot s perception as a god leads to his downfall by conflicting with his kingly aspirations. He
intends to establish a dynasty, and he needs a Queen to breed a King s son for the King (98). Dravot
plans to chose a woman from amongst his tribes; alas, his people are skeptical of this, for How
can daughters of men marry Gods or Devils? (99). Dravot s god appearance directly conflicts
with his aspiration for a dynasty; he cannot find a wife who will want him as a god, yet he needs
a woman to bear his children. He ignores all warnings and proceeds to find and marry his queen.
The downfall of Dravot occurs on his wedding day, as his bride bites him The slut s bitten me!

sight of blood awakens the natives to Dravot s mortality. Shrieks of Not a God, not a Devil, but

him a god.

Soybeans are beans which are from the legume family which are native to East Asia. They can

superweed being bad for the environment, it is also bad for the economy as poor farmers can t

the genes which make them resist herbicides and harsher weather. This will result in a smaller
amount of soybeans to sell, which will then make the farmers without the rights to use GM
soybeans have less income. As a result, the farmers without the GM soybean are unable to make
the soybeans cheaper as they would then not make any profit. Although the GM soybean is
mainly bad for the economy, it is also good as some farmers profit from this. The GM seeds allow
the farmers to have more harvest as fewer soybeans will die due to weather, other plants or

30. Analyzing Stafford s Poem Traveling Through The Dark
Traveling Through the Dark
Stafford furtively conceals the profound meaning of his poem behind a story of the narrator, who
stops alongside the road to care for a deer. The genius behind poem is better understood when the
superficial meaning is expressed deeply.
Driving down a narrow mountain road, traveling through the dark, the narrator of the poem
encounters a deer. The deer is actually dead on the edge of the Wilson River road. The traveler
decides to send the deer over the edge of the canyon, because to swerve might make more dead.
This line indicates that if he fails or swerves in his decision, the deer could cause an accident on the
narrow road that might cost more lives.
The narrator prepared with this purpose, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The personified car is expectantly awaiting his decision, eager to get moving again. The wilderness
takes on human abilities also, silently witnessing the outcome it knows must be, but wishing it was
otherwise. As the narrator contemplates all of this, the taillights of the car illuminate him in their
red light. This is reflective of the heightened emotions he is experiencing, but also brings to mind
the bloody fate of the deer and her unborn fawn.
The narrator thinks hard for us all and proceeds with the task he had committed to since the
beginning. He pushes the deer and her unborn fawn over the edge into the river.
There is much more to this poem than its literal story. The title, along with the story itself,
suggests man s overlook for nature. People seem to travel through oblivious to the consequences
of their actions. The driver who killed the deer is an example of this theme. He was also traveling
through the dark, as the deer was a recent killing. The fact that he left it in the middle of the road,
with no further thought for it or anyone else behind him, implies his dark nature.
The main theme of the poem however, is the sadness and misfortune that accompanies everyone s
journey through

Education an institution for success, opportunity, and progress is itself steeped in racism. In
Sherman Alexie s short story Indian Education from his book The Longer Ranger and Tonto
Fistfight in Heaven is set in two places, the Spokane Indian Reservation and a farm town nearby
the reservation. The story is written in a list of formative events chronologize Victor s youth by
depicting the most potent moment from each year he is in school. Alexie addresses the issue of
racismin education by examining examples of injustice and discriminationover twelve years in a
boy s life. Victor faces his initial injustice in first grade when he is bullied by bigger kids, but his
understanding of injustice becomes much more complex in grades two through twelve as he
experiences discrimination against his American Indian identity. Familial experiences of a Native
woman, Alexie s style and humor, and Victor s awareness of discrimination from grade one to
twelve all reveal the grim reality of growing up and being schooled on an American Indian
reservation.
One of Victor s first experiences of racial injustice occurs in second grade when his white
missionary teacher discriminates him against his outstanding academic skills and his Indian
heritage. Victor has pulled aside and is assigned a junior high level spelling test; he recalls When
I spelled all the words right, she crumpled up the paper and made me eat it. You ll learn respect,
she said (Alexie 173). Here Victor faces two types of discrimination: the injustice of being
singled out from his classmates in order to take a more difficult test, and the injustice of being
penalized for performing well on the test. Instead of being praised or awarded for his outstanding
ability, Victor is punished severely for his high level skills by having to eat his test. Later on, the
teachers send a note to his parents telling them to either cut [Victor s] braids or keep [him] home
from class. This injustice towards Victor s culture over a hairstyle has no impact on a child s
education or accomplishments. Alexie incorporated this injustice to show the readers that such
discrimination occurs and his stories are not fiction. In fact, native women, P. Jane Hafen responds

health care center if he displays any sudden condition of anxiety or panic attack.
Case study 2 The subject of our next case study is a twenty one year old female, who is presented
with a shortness of breath after completing a training session. The patient is noted to be producing
an audible wheeze when breathing. The patient is noted to be currently suffering from asthma and

rate indicates that the person is prone to sudden asthma attacks (Dawson, 2014), especially after

Carpe Diem is another major theme never found in courtly love poetry, but rather in cavalier.
Cavalier poets urge young lovers to seize the day , enjoy the present moment because youth and
beauty will fade soon and forever. The theme of brevity of life also serves the carpe diem, since
the best in life ends Corinna s Going a Maying insists on enjoying youth and love and not to be
shy, because all pleasures of life come to an end when death comes. [Cavalier poets did not take
life seriously, because this life is too short, so one should enjoy it.
As to structure, the form of the 16th century s poems is different from early 17th century s poems.
Elizabethan s poems were mainly sonnets which present a situation (in the octave or in the first
three quatrains) to find a solution (in the sestet or in the couplet) whereas cavalier poets used only
short lyrics composed of stanzas which are simple in verse and style to express their feelings and
thoughts.
Although both periods were contrasting in themes and form, poets could express their emotions
and opinions according to the events surrounding

43. Analysis Of The Arguments For Atheism
Theism or Atheism
By Sam Heney
This essay will discuss some of the arguments for theism and will rebutt them from an atheist s
point of view. Atheism is simply the rejection of the belief in the existence of deities whereas
theism is the opposite. There have been indications of theism stretching back to very early Homo
sapiens with evidence of rituals and superstitions. The dead were buried ceremoniously showing the
belief in some kind of afterlife. Atheism is seemingly a lot more uncommon throughout history
with very little evidence of our ancient ancestors ever lacking some kind of belief in a higher
presence. This debate has been going mainly since the Renaissance period but made great progress
after the first and second world wars. Between ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I would write this essay with arguments for atheism but that would be counter productive as the
entire point of theism is that it is suggesting the existence of a deity and therefore it is a theist s
burden to provide evidence and/or proof of the deity s existence. Presented in this essay are four of
some of the most commonly used arguments for theism (not including arguments that rely purely
on faith) and rebuttals to each argument.
Firstly I will introduce a very popular argument for theism is that there can not be a causeless
cause; someone must have caused the universe to come into existence. Of course the natural
response to this is to ask; who caused God to come into existence? This argument is obviously
internally inconsistent.
Next I will put forth an argument for theism known as the Argument from Design . This common
argument suggests that complex things such as watches and televisions are created by
intelligent people. Surely the intricacy of life spawning from simple DNA, as well as the other
examples of complexity in the universe also imply the influence of an intelligence? A rebuttal to
this argument would be that god is certainly complex, so who created him? If one says that he
has always existed, then why can t one instead say that the universe (and life) have always
existed? Besides, there are clear examples of lackluster design in nature. For example the human
eye has a blind spot when it could have been designed like the squid s (that doesn t have

44. Three Laws Of Robot Essay
The Effectiveness of Isaac Asimov`s Three Laws of Robotics
In 1950 a collection of short stories by Isaac Asimov gathered under a name I, Robot was first
published commencing a whole new era in the field of fiction. Asimov first explicitly introduced
the Three Laws of Robotics in the short story Runaround, published in the March 1942 issue of
Astounding Science Fiction. In his 1985 novel Robots and Empire, Asimov formulated an
additional Zeroth Law, to stand above the original three: No harm to humanity, or, allowing any
harm to humanity by inaction. Other science fiction writers have explored similar ideas, sometimes
anticipating Asimov s laws and sometimes expanding on them. (Wallach 219) It was the first book
to use the word robot ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Indeed, a robot should have some system of self preservation reflexes as long as they do not
interfere with its prime responsibilities. But, as mentioned before, robots can under certain
circumstances interpret the Laws differently and what is more important can be seen as a better
version of a human being. Asimov (3) wrote through the words of Susan Calvin: Then you don t
remember a world without robots. There was a time when humanity faced the universe alone and
without a friend. Now he has creatures to help him; stronger creatures than himself, more
faithful, more useful, and absolutely devoted to him. Mankind is no longer alone. Have you ever
thought of it that way? ... They re a cleaner, better breed than we are. In this sense robots deserve
to be considered as equals to humans and even more than that, as superior beings. Robots that
serve are just a first step on the way to developing artificial intelligence opening new possibilities
to no end. However, Asimov`s Three Laws do not go beyond the definition of robots as slaves,
which, considering human history, is immoral and

45. Why Tupac Shakur Is Alive
Tupac Shakur is alive because of how he was in general. Tupac Shakur is a American rapper and
actor. He has a great legacy because of how he use his fame and was the voice of the people;he is
a activist and a role model to me. He is the best selling music artist of all time selling over 75
million records worldwide. He may be alive by his actions and how he says things in his lyrics
that can have you thinking. He has a very great legacy and while it may be possible that he is
dead i will give you some reason on how he may fake his own death and could have known what
was going to happen the night of September 7,1996. The case is still unsolved to this day 22
years later. He is still out there and these are some good reasoning on why you should believe
this. The first reason is his nickname Makaveli that name comes from Niccolo Machiavelli an
Italian war strategist and philosopher who use faking one s death to fool their enemies and how
this nickname has to do with his music. This is significant because His lyrics talked about faking
his death and coming back. He was gunned down exactly seven months after All Eyez On Me was
released. The number seven keeps coming up too. According to the website (Top 20 reasons) he

47. Similarities And Differences Between 1984 And Never Let Me Go
Compare and Contrast the extent in which the governments in 1984 and Never Let Me Go
Many of my memories come from my garden in Luxembourg. My friends and I would often play
a game called Bakery, which meant mashing up berries and leaves found in the garden and
sprinkling them upon pats of mud. We took the roles of poor chefs who earned their livings
selling baked goods, uprooting peculiar weeds and picking brightly coloured flowers to decorate
these cakes . Of course now, this faded tableau depicting the act of pretending proves nonsensical,
but in that moment, the game seemed real to us. But memories and imagination are what
distinguishes humans from animals. The dystopian novels 1984 and Never Let Me Go explore the
themes of the power... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

gleaming equipment and chair with swivels and castors opposes the reality of subsequent organ

behind, she begins to accept that her dream was unrealistic. In fact, all Hailsham s children desire
a successful career. But Miss Lucy shatters their hope by telling them that none of [them] will go
to America or work in supermarkets (p20). Without dreams present, Ruth loses a part of her
humanity. Similarly, Winston s image of perfection is a life where he could defy the rules of the

that chimpanzees in fact do communicate using human language such as American Sign Language

51. The Han Art Analysis
In ancient times, art was often made to become a burial object for the tomb of a respected
individual. The Chinese are apart of this tradition and this mingqi or spirit object of a dog belongs
to the religious concept of following the deceased into the afterlife. The artist of Mingqi (standing
dog) is unknown but the period of the artwork falls around 250 to 200 BCE, during the Han Dynasty
. Though much is unknown or undefined about this work, the visual components reveal the aim
behind the artist s choices. The Han artist focuses on the media, ceramic techniques, and
composition to fulfill the role of a protection vessel.
Mingqi (standing dog) is a clay figurine of a dog standing on all fours. The dog s mouth is agape
and the ears point upwards. The clay has carved eyes and whiskers while a harness and curled tail
remain raised. Beneath the tail, a circular hole is present while a less intentional hole lies
underneath, on the stomach. Intact green glaze coats the upper part of the sculpture while the clay
is visible on the lower body of the dog. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

contrast of color to the dull green of the glaze. Terracotta can be without glaze but this Han artist

The 53 RWHAP Part A recipients reported the number of staff FTE assigned to CQM. Data was
extracted from each application and the total FTE for one recipient was further categorized
based on the position titles. The number of FTE staff in the recipient s CQM program ranges
from 0 17.3 FTE. On average, 3.27 FTE are on staff and the median is 2.35 FTE. It is important
to note that some recipients reported the FTE including contractors specifically assigned to CQM.
CQM Staff Roles and Responsibilities Narrative: Extracted information from each recipient s
application was categorized into different position titles. Since the titles for similar roles and
responsibilities varied among each recipient, general position titles were created based on the
duties. According to the data presented, recipients reported having 5 contract analysts, 7
epidemiologists, 7 nurses, 10 research analysts, 15 administrative assistants, and 18 health
specialists. In addition, recipients reported having 47 QM managers, 40 data managers, 35 program
administrators, and 10 other FTEs that range from a social work intern to a staff analyst.

Since the descriptions of quality management staff vary among the same reported position title, it
is more important to examine the specific roles and responsibilities of each CQM staff rather than
the designated position title on the report. Additionally, the number of FTE does not always
correlate with the amount of quality management work produced by the recipient. Some recipients
reported 1 FTE but subcontracted many services, while other recipients reported many FTE s but
only 1 contracted service. Therefore, the number of FTE, description of positions, and contractor
roles must all be examined in a comprehensive review in order to analyze an individual

53. Raising The Minimum Wage Of The United States
Raise the minimum wage: In the United States, studies show that women tend to make up a
disproportionate share of low wage workers. In the field of education, men tends to go more to
STEM than women and that also leads to high paying jobs for men. If we raise the minimum wage,
this will help hardworking women to support their families. Approximately, women made up two
thirds of all minimum wageworkers in 2012. With the current federal minimum wagei.e. $7.25 per
hour, someone working full time, only earn $15,080 a year round. People working full time with
minimum wage is still below the povertythreshold for any family with children and single person
is also not far above the poverty line. So, increasing the federal minimum wage to $10.10 an hour
would help increase the wages for about 15 million women, which will help close the gender wage
gap.
Raise the tipped minimum wage: The gender wage gap is vividly observed in tipped workers.
The federal tipped minimum wage, which hasn t been changed since 1991, only pays workers
$2.13 per hour. According to the Economic Policy Institute, women make up two thirds of tipped
workers and are 70 percent of food servers and bartenders, occupations that comprise more than
half of the tipped workforce. Tipped workers have a higher poverty rate than non tipped workers,
and 46 percent rely on government assistance to make ends meet.

Government intervention:
Government intervention are actions that interferes with the different activities or decisions made
by the individuals or the organizations in a market in hopes to correct market failures and promote

chooses to intervene, it aims at a variety of political or economic priorities, such as better economic
growth, increasing employment, raising wages, raising or reducing prices, better income equality,
more profits, or fixing market failures. The government could only intervene when needed.
However, this does not always work because the government can fail too and it is bureaucratic.

Theories are essential in occupational therapy (OT) practice as they provide a conceptual
foundation and framework for enhancing growth of clients, justifying reimbursement for care, and
validating intervention applications to family and patients (Baum, Bass, Christiansen, 2015).
Theories provide knowledge and an explanationfor how and why certain interventions would be
more beneficial than others. Theories can be used to support the understanding of a client s
symptoms and environmental impacts. The theories used in OT can be classified as models, frames

56. The World Of The Age Of Medi Entertainment And Relevancy
Living in the Age of Media: Entertainment and Relevancy
The significant presence of electronic media has gradually become a crisis of society s
problems. Though it seems to go unnoticed by most, the obtainment of our information that we
are receiving is a mere means of entertainment thanks to the universalization of media and
television. Postman discusses the consequences of living in a technologically advanced age by
discussing four aspects of society that are most affected: the news, religion, politics, and
education. Society has shifted from words of reason and sensibility to the epitome of trivial
media content. The general overview of television is not what gives a problematic impression on
society, but it is the loss of purpose and truth within our programs that is transforming itself into
a form of show business.
Out of the four aspects of society, politics has had the most corrupted and negative effect
towards society. Politicians are unable to express intellectual knowledge on important issues and
instead of being treated as potential leaders, they are treated similarly to celebrities. For example,
take the most recent election and varied political commercials that were broadcasted. The
promotional margin of political figures is often taken as a means of self interest, voting for the
most likeable candidate. Gone are the days of understanding and voting for Republicans or
Democratic parties. Politics are devalued into forms of imagery,
