The Crucifixion Analysis
The Crucifixion I chose to analyze The Crucifixion because it shows such passion, love, and
creativity. When I first saw The Crucifixion I was not quite able to make out what the picture was
showing. However, once I finally saw the image, I was absolutely astounded by what I saw. The colors
all played really well off of each other, complimented one another, and the picture became quite clear.
I feel that this picture completely describes my religion. My religion, to outsiders, may look like quite
a mess of feelings and emotions, but once they look at it with a different point of view, they are able to
clearly see the image of God. I also felt that the symbolism portrayed in this image truly inspiring.
Like I have stated before, the art appears ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I think the author wanted you to see Jesus suffering, His passion for His people, and His sadness in
humanity s decision to sin over and over and over again. His eyes appear to be closed with, again, just
show that He feels so much pain for His people, that He is suffering both physically and mentally. The
title of this piece of art, The Crucifixion, helps better set the scene for what is happening here. Jesus is
being crucified for being the son of God, for telling everyone that He is the savior who has come to
save us from all our own doom, and that He is the one who will open the gates of Heaven so that we
may enter. This image helps me better understand who Jesus was because His crucifixion was a major
part of His life as well as the end of His life until He rises from the dead. Without Him dying on the
cross, we would never be able to go to Heaven, as we would all go down to Hell for the gates of
Heaven would not be opened, and He would not be able to rise from the dead and reveal to us all that
He really is God. It makes you understand that, while being nailed to a cross, beaten, and whipped, is
not an ideal situation for anyone to go through, He loved, and still loves us, so much that He was
willing to go through one of the worst possible situations in order to be

Ralph s Savagery
Without civilization, there is savagery. Without savagery, there is civilization. Apart, these two traits
are opposites. Together, however, makes people who they are human. In the Lord of the Flies by
William Golding, an airplane crashes on a deserted island and the only inhabitants are young boys, all
under the age of 12. One child, Ralph, takes the position of the leader to gain control over the savage
and lost youths, only to be betrayed, which leads to some troubling conflicts. Ralph s actions and
responses show that there is always a bit of savagery with civilization in humans. Ralph uses a conch
shell, which symbolizes authority, to establish order. As though he is the head of an assembly, Ralph
gives everybody a turn to speak as though ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This clash between authority and wild actions represent the outlying theme that both are found in all
humans. Ordinarily, people view one another as sophisticated or crazy. Due to this discovery and the
theme of this novel, it is proven that everybody contains both civilization and order, as does Ralph.
Through Ralph, the author represented an adult or adolescent that is found today, in order, yet can get
out of hand quickly. The universal theme is that there is no perfectly elegant or classy person, for each
individual has some crazy attributes in

Jack The Ripper Research Papers
In 1888, Mary Ann Nichols was found dead on August 31, Annie Chapman on September eighth, and
Elizabeth Stride September 30. As the body count rises, it becomes clear to authorities that the east
end of London are the hunting grounds of a serial killer.
BACKGROUND
It firsts started out with the Whitechapel killings. A string of gruesome murders with the victims
reproductive organs ripped out. The killer was fearfully famous in his time and still lives in the dark
parts of history today the notorious name given to the killer was Jack the Ripper. The victims of these
grisly attacks were Mary Ann Nicholes, Annie Chapman, Elizabeth Stride, Catherine Eddowes, Mary

Analysis Of Famine, Affluence And Morality By Peter Singer
In November 1971, Peter Singer composed his essay Famine, Affluence and Morality in regards to
famine in East Bengal (now East Pakistan). He stated that people were suffering and dying due to lack
of food resources, shelter, clothing, and medical assistance. This and many other factors such as civil
war, and natural disaster have turned approximately nine million people into insolvent refugees
(Singer, 229). Though there seemed to be some institutions and private or public organizations that
were capable of helping the refugees, there were no sufficient funds. Peter Singer argues that
individuals from wealthy countries like the Western World are morally ought to help. Unfortunately,
people have not made any significant response to such situation. ... Show more content on

The example Singer used to illustrate his second principle is the drowning child in a shallow pond. If a
person happened to be walking past by that pond, then that person can easily get involved to help. In
this case, the only risk for that person is to have his clothes muddy (Singer 231). But how can tell that
we are morally required to do such act? What if that person who happens to be walking past by that
pond has a very important interview and he cannot risk having his formal clothes get muddy because
there will be no chance that he ll get accepted for the job? An objection that can be used against this
principle is Rahul Kumar s mutual aid # 2 which states that A person must do what is necessary to
prevent a significant loss to someone else when she can do so at much less significant cost to herself
(Kumar 299). In one of his examples, he illustrated Geoff as a world renowned experimental
psychologist, who has a deserved reputation for his skill as a critic (Kumar, 299). Geoff only needs to
exert little effort to read and comment on young psychologists papers. His comments on their papers
can radically improve its quality. In this case, if we apply Singer s second promise then Geoff is
obligated to comment on all research

The Roles Of Latinas On Television
The main purpose of this paper was to research the roles of Latinas in television. More specifically,
how Latinas are represented within the television industry. The study consisted of a content analysis of
three television programs from the years 2015 2017. A procedure was employed and seven characters
were selected. The categories that were used in the study were based on the character s ethnicity and
gender, but the variables were developed based on previous research. The results have revealed that
there s a slight change, however, Latinas continue to be underrepresented and negative stereotyped.
Introduction
The representation of Latinas in Television is far from mirroring the presence of Latinos in the United
States. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The two theories that the researcher will look at that fit into this research are Cultivation theory and
Agenda setting theory.
Cultivation Theory
Many people might say that prime time network programming is responsible for the way people
perceive the different situations in the real world. The theory the researcher will discuss began as a
way to test the impact that all this television viewing had on viewers (West Turner p. 421). In the late
1960s, George Gerbner developed the Cultivation Theory which later on evolved over time through
the use of mass media. Through this theory is a television based theory, its assumptions and processes
can be applied to the representation of Latinas in the media.
Cultivation Theory is being used not just in the United States, but all around the world. This theory
just like other theories is applied daily because society is constantly watching television to educate
themselves on what s happening around the world. One of the reasons why this theory can be applied
by anyone, it s because It asks people to assess their own media use alongside the socially constructed
reality of the world they inhabit (West Turner p. 435). According to George Gerbner, cultivation
theory says that as time passes more people in the real world of television are easier to believe that
social reality resembles the

The Four Theories of Government Essay
Akira Simmons 3/5/09 Government There were fourdifferent theories of governments, the force
theory, the evolutionary rule, the divine right theory, and social contract theory. The Force theory was
when one person or group of people gained control of the area and forced others to submit to their
rule. The evolutionary Rule basically said that the states would develop naturally out of family clans,
tribes, ect. The divine right theory said that the state was created by God and God gave people of royal
birth the divine right to rule . The social contract theory was created by Thomas Hobbes and he

God gave people of the royal birth the divine right to rule , but not all people believe in the same
religion or God. Not only would religion be an issue but also the royal family factor. In the United
States, there are no royal families, but there are wealthy, middle class, and the low class. The divine
right to rule is not used in the United States because of the different religions. This theory would not
be best fit for the United States because the United States does not rule based on religion and there are
no royal families. The Social contract theory was created by Thomas Hobbes and he basically stated
that the state people were British. People were poor and to improve their lives people would enter into
a social contract where one superior person ruled over the rest. This would not be a best fit form of
government for the United States today because not everybody lives poor in every state. Each state has
a different group of lower class, middle class, and upper class. This also would not be good
government for the U.S. because with one superior person ruling there would be no democracy. The
United States does not use the social contract today because of these reasons. The four theories of
forms of government were all different from one another. These theories are should not be used in the

The Birthmark By Nathaniel Hawthorne

Nathaniel Hawthorne s The Birthmark
The Birthmark is a short story authored by Nathaniel Hawthorne and published in 1848. The story is
about Aylmer, a brilliant scientist who is obsessed with science and is planning to use his experiments
to remove a birthmark on the face of his wife Georgiana. Aylmer s love for science made him yearn to
obtain control of the entire divinity. His wife was among his victims of science that was stronger in
him than the love he had for Georgiana. Aylmer became blind to science to the extent that he could not
realize that he was damaging his wife and putting his marriage at risk. It examines the obsession with
science and human perfection that often cause problems if not controlled as seen in the story.
Hawthorne s aim with this tale was to warn its readers regarding the dangers of science and
knowledge with the story, and this is analyzed below.
Ronald Davis, Barbara Eckstein, Liz Rosenberg, Jerry A. Herndon, and Jeffrey Howard, are among
the authors who have analyzed Nathaniel s work The Birthmark. In an article titled Science and
Technology in the Birthmark, Ronald agreed by the fact that The Birthmark is a story with several
warnings. He identifies the main catalysts in the story as unnatural obsession with technology and
science by Aylmer, who is the main character. Ronald stated that in Nathaniel Hawthorne s, The
Birthmark , there is an unnatural obsession with science

World Series Rings Research Paper
World Series rings are awards given to every player in Major League baseball who has won the World
Series. Started in the 1922 World Series when rings were given to the members of the winning team,
the New York Giants, courtesy companies like Tiffany Co or Balfour, they have grown in stature and
size. They flaunt the team s logo in precious stones like diamonds and rubies and are set in 14 carat
white gold. Teams buying their own members have a system of classification with the grandest rings
for their top players, and watered down versions for players lower down the rank and team employees.
While the first rings had a couple of diamonds, the modern day version has over 200 diamonds!
Valuable Sports Memorabilia It is also considered by fans as valuable sports memorabilia that can be
auctioned or sold at will. Sites like eBay host such items, and many a player in want of money has
sold his ring and made thousands of dollars. Museums have replicas as exhibits and there is a
reckoning of who has won the most number of rings. Yogi Berra has won the most number ... Show

Everyone Defines Happiness Differently, Everyone Enjoys
Everyone defines happiness differently, everyone enjoys different things but, we know happiness
when we experience it. The phrase is used to describe a variety of positive feelings, including
fulfillment, gratification, joy and appreciation. Happiness comes when we are pleased and contented.
Happiness is a feeling of contentment that life is just as it should be. The right happiness,
enlightenment, comes when you have all of your needs satisfied, because when we let ourselves be
happy, it becomes easier said than done. According to Thomas Moore, enchantment is an ascendancy

The Soul is mortal meaning that it dies, it is one s inner self what pleases it is it needs to stay lively
(148). A relationship to disenchantment could be destroying a strip of an establishment such as
shopping malls and Grocery stores (146). Thomas Moore gives several examples of Re enchantment
that he thinks are disenchanting. You do not have to look far for ruins. Ruins are enchanting, the ruins
that he calls enchanting are not really enchanting but instead disenchanting because the functions of
these things once fulfilled has gone off likes a bird flying away from the nest. We are left with objects
that have a hollowness that we can fill with our own wonder and fantasy (86). Moore provides
examples throughout his book which supports his theories of everyday life. I credit Moore and his
theory of enchantment in the world, which can and does differ from other human resources. You are
surrounded by real, individual things not imitated. When you appreciate the individual surroundings
that are an enchantment, you re honoring the exact qualities that make a place special. We need
Physical images to embody the spirit that has polluted towns and wilderness, because enchantment can
t be achieved into the abstract (146). By connecting with other places far away with different ethics,
we can take enchantment home with you. An example of this would be sharing personal interests and

In 2006, Sony; the second largest manufacturer of laptop batteries in the world was in the headlines as
major laptop manufacturing companies such as Apple, Dell, Compaq, and Lenovo were forced to

Between December of 2005 and August of 2006 there were six fires in Dell laptop computers,
including one that burst into flames at a conference in Osaka. [1] This incident was caught on tape and
viewed worldwide, prompting Dell to recall 4.2 million laptop batters on August 14, 2016 [1], with
this number rising later in the year to almost 10 million.
Apple also recalled some 1.8 million batteries on August 24, 2006 [after] nine reports of batteries
overheating including two incidents of minor burns. [1] Companies such as Fujitsu, Lenovo and
Toshiba also reported incidents similar to the previously mentioned and undertook similar measures.

have to deal cautiously with the issue of homosexuality. Actually it is supportive and helpful for the

In contrast, on this certain aspect, China still has a long way to go. It also reflects the Chinese citizens

Hot issues about homosexual culture
Homosexuality is a unique cultural behavior, which is not widely accepted by the community and
alienated from the mainstream culture. People who are against it require the legal prohibition, and who

Cultural Ignorance in Heart of Darkness, By Joseph Conrad...
An inescapable ignorance dominates the way we define culture . It is all too easy to define culture
when a group of people feel as though they are part of the same culture. A bias arises when defining
this term, because we consider ourselves to be cultured . We define culture with our own definitions,
and we judge it through our own prejudiced eyes. To accurately define culture, we must take ourselves
out of the cultural boundaries we have been accustomed to. Of course, this is impossible. Accordingly,
defining the essence of culture is something I cannot attempt to do.
In Joseph Conrad s Heart of Darkness, the attempt to define the cultural line leads to the corruption,
greed, and evil of the white man. Even when ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

their slaves. At the central station, Marlow is struck by the seemingly pointless operation of the
bricklayer. The central station cannot perform its supposed duty due to a lack of material that will
never reach the station. The men become paralyzed in a state of inefficiency that traps them in the
heart of darkness. Their existence becomes stagnant and non moving. The men waste away their lives
placing themselves above the natives for no apparent purpose. In Apocalypse Now, soldiers even

efficiency the devotion to efficiency (Conrad 10). They are able to escape the reaches of darkness by
keeping their minds set on just doing their job . It seems though, that efficiency does not save these
men. Ignorance becomes their real saving grace. By ignoring the greed of his fellow man, the working
white man allows his heart to escape this darkness. By refusing to acknowledge the horrible deeds
done by those around him, the working man can avoid the inescapable path I referred to previously.
So what causes the white man to dive into the heart of darkness? Sure, greed is the primary driving
force, but the way the white man feeds his greed causes the problem. Men such as the Manager and
Kurtz, see the natives as mere workhorses, as a part of the other world, the

war in the region to test whether Tehran is sincere in its hope to improve its international standing.
I think it s fair to say that (Obama) believes there is an opportunity for diplomacy when it comes to the

In fact, there were high level talks Thursday involving Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif and U.N.

A History of the World in Six Glasses: Guided Reading Q A
Introduction Vital Fluids 1.) What is the author s main thesis (argument) in setting up his book?
Why/how are these fluids vital ? The author wants to show that beverages had a great impact on
history. He wants to tell his
readers that drinks have had a greater impact on history than normally recognized. The fluids are
vital because without them, humans wouldn t have accomplished so much. Fluids allowed people to
farm, think, trade, and survive. Beer in Mesopotamia and Egypt (Chapters 1 2)

2.) In the 18th century, how did spirits change the balance of power amongst the western European
nations (particularly Britain and France) ?
In Britain, the knowledge of spirits allowed British sailors to have an advantage over French
sailors. The British sailors were given grog, a spirit mixed with lime juice. This drink contained
vitamin
C, which made the sailors resistant to scurvy. On the other hand, the French sailors were given a
different type of drink that contained no vitamin C. They were not protected from the disease.
3.) How did spirits help in the building and shaping of early America (politically and economically) ?
Spirits helped build and shape America through trade. Rum played a big role in the triangular
trade between Africa, Europe, and North America. By trading rum, money and goods were brought
into the country.
Coffee in the Age of Reason (Chapters 7 8)
1.) Why did coffee become known to Europeans as the antithesis of alcohol ?
Coffee became known as the antithesis of alcohol because unlike alcohol, it allowed people
to stay alert. It also aided people in thinking clearly.
2.) Was coffee the first true global beverage ? Why or why not ? Coffee was the first true global
beverage because it was allowed to be consumed by people of
all religions. Unlike beer and spirits, Muslims were allowed to drink coffee. In Europe,

Accounting is within organizations as a means of determining financial stability. An accountant can
help someone who is having a hard time managing their own personal bills or this can also fall under a
company and or business. An accountant is responsible for looking over a companies overall wealth,
profitability, and liquidity. Accounting professional is one of the oldest and most respected professions
in the world.
This profession is a systematic process where a person has to be trained in or has already had training
in it. They have to know how to identify, record data, measuring, classifying, verifying, summarizing,
interpreting and communicating financial information. This is all important for n accountant to know
for them to be able to help a person who needs help with business or company. They need to be able to
tell they company or business about its profit or loss for a given period of time. They should be able to
tell the value and nature of a firm s assests, liabilities and owners equity.
This paper is about accounting, describing how accounting has changed over the last ten years. How
much the salaries have changed as well. An accountance gets paid more now then before; it is also one
of those jobs now that more people are going for. The accounting professional that s adding value
today is a business partner with all the other stakeholders in that company. Today people take their

A Change Of A Chromosome Number
A change in a chromosome number is known as Aneuploidy. Aneuploidy is a genetic condition where
an organism acquires fewer or more chromosomes than the normal diploid number. A monosomic
organism has one less than the diploid number of chromosomes meaning the human zygote will have
45 chromosomes. A trisomic organism has one more than the diploid number of number of
chromosomes i.e. the organism will now have 47 set of chromosome meaning there are three
homologous copies of one chromosome. It can develop in many ways. For example, during mitosis a
centromere can be deleted as a result a chromosome can be lost. Aneuploidy usually alters the
phenotype drastically because it alters chromosome number but not the DNA sequence. Between 75

Gene alterations on an organism have profound effects on both cellular and physiological levels.
Aneuploidy can be present in two ways if its present in only certain cells its known as somatic
aneuploidy but its its found in all of the cells then its called constitutional aneuploidy. The effects of
constitutional aneuploidy can be lethal. In humans, a condition known as down syndrome is caused is
due to third copy of chromosome 21 and a third copy in any autosome will always result in childhood
problems. (Hassold TJ, 1984). They can survive but will have significant health problems and will be
mentally affected. Also, the absence of any autosomal chromosomes can lead to embryonic death.
One of the basic consequences of aneuploidy is the genomic instability. Genomic instability refers to
the change initiated during the life cycle of a cell. Genetic instability is hallmark of aneuploidy that
leads to wide range of changes in the genome of the organisms. These changes can cause serious
effects to the organism these include the chromosome alterations, chromosomal mutations. The
Structural rearrangements of chromosomes are thought to develop from the repair of double strand
DNA breaks (DSB) by non homologous end joining (NHEJ) pathway and its variant, alternative NHEJ
(also known as backup NHEJ) (Quinlan and Hall, 2012).
During a cell division, it is believed that genomic instability is minimized by four major mechanisms,
which include chromosome segregation in

Human immunodeficiency virus is a retrovirus that affects the T cells specifically to the immune

world. H.I.V replication is a multi stage process and every step is necessary to complete its process. (
T Cell ) In step one, the entry of the virus requires certain receptors from the host cell such as a CD4.
In addition, these receptors are composed of two glycoproteins that are embedded in the viral
envelope. ( Kestens, P. ) By approaching the target, the cells of a gp120 connects to the CD4 receptors
and the transmembrane gp41 is capable of transferring its information into the cell membrane.
Uniquely, this process creates a pathway for the virus to fuse with the host cell. When it enters the cell

One strand of the RNA is transcribed into a RNA DNA double helix, whereas the breakdown of RNA
uses ribonuclease H. Without delay, polymerase completes the cycle with the other DNA strand to

Protease, one of the last of the enzymes, helps create the infectious virus. Finally, when the virus

Taliban Women s Roles
After 20 years of civil war, the Taliban, an extremist militia, took over and plunged Afghanistan into
gender apartheid. The Taliban is a group composed of all men; they initially started to take over in
1994, but they didn t overthrow the capital, Kabul, until 1996. Many people originally thought they
would help stabilize the country; however, its oppressive laws threw women into destitution. Shortly
after the Taliban came to power, women s right for healthcare, education, and other lifestyle
constraints drastically changed placing women into a state of virtual house arrest. The Taliban
jeopardized the health of women when they cut off access to proper medical care. To consider what

skin; they were forced to wear a burqa every time they stepped out of their house. They were not
allowed to show an inch of their skin and if they did, even by accident, they were punished harshly.
The Taliban had no remorse for how they treated these women. Although they were defeated in 2001,
many of their concepts are still being practiced today, and women are continuously treated unequally.

Dante in the year 1274, on May Day in Florence, Italy. Beatrice is from a wealthy Florentine family
and was eight years old the first time they meet and did not speak a word to each other (Cotter, 21).
She was the principle inspiration for Dante s La Vita Nuova, a book about Dante s love connection to
her (Passages to the Past). Dante and Beatrice have only met twice, but Dante was so touched by both
meetings he shares his love for Beatrice with the reader. The second encounter occurred when they

is seen in Dante s Purgatory when she comes to him in a griffin drawn chariot. She comes down to
Dante wearing a white veil representing faith, a green cape symbolizing hope and underneath the cape
she wore a robe of flaming red signifying burning love. When she first arrives to Dante she comes to
him in a harsh approach, something like an admiral. She does this to try to get a confession out of
Dante, and mention to him that he cannot continue his journey if he is not happy and cleansed

fact that Virgil cannot help him on his journey anymore, but to look forward to the next point in his
journey. She comes to him and tells Dante to wash himself in the waters of Lethe (Kline). This will
cleanse him and take away his sins. She also mentions the waters of Euone will help restore good in

Welfare policies aimed at improving family circumstances for both children and parents must not
make the error of focusing solely on parents; if the intention is to enhance the immediate and long

to this feeling is Dupin s concealment of clues from the reader, with the presence of tawny hair not

of these factors hold some blame in producing a conclusion that could be considered less than

Nervous system has two main parts: the central nervous system, which contains the brain and spinal

  • 2. The Crucifixion Analysis The Crucifixion I chose to analyze The Crucifixion because it shows such passion, love, and creativity. When I first saw The Crucifixion I was not quite able to make out what the picture was showing. However, once I finally saw the image, I was absolutely astounded by what I saw. The colors all played really well off of each other, complimented one another, and the picture became quite clear. I feel that this picture completely describes my religion. My religion, to outsiders, may look like quite a mess of feelings and emotions, but once they look at it with a different point of view, they are able to clearly see the image of God. I also felt that the symbolism portrayed in this image truly inspiring. Like I have stated before, the art appears ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I think the author wanted you to see Jesus suffering, His passion for His people, and His sadness in humanity s decision to sin over and over and over again. His eyes appear to be closed with, again, just show that He feels so much pain for His people, that He is suffering both physically and mentally. The title of this piece of art, The Crucifixion, helps better set the scene for what is happening here. Jesus is being crucified for being the son of God, for telling everyone that He is the savior who has come to save us from all our own doom, and that He is the one who will open the gates of Heaven so that we may enter. This image helps me better understand who Jesus was because His crucifixion was a major part of His life as well as the end of His life until He rises from the dead. Without Him dying on the cross, we would never be able to go to Heaven, as we would all go down to Hell for the gates of Heaven would not be opened, and He would not be able to rise from the dead and reveal to us all that He really is God. It makes you understand that, while being nailed to a cross, beaten, and whipped, is not an ideal situation for anyone to go through, He loved, and still loves us, so much that He was willing to go through one of the worst possible situations in order to be ... • 3. Ralph s Savagery Without civilization, there is savagery. Without savagery, there is civilization. Apart, these two traits are opposites. Together, however, makes people who they are human. In the Lord of the Flies by William Golding, an airplane crashes on a deserted island and the only inhabitants are young boys, all under the age of 12. One child, Ralph, takes the position of the leader to gain control over the savage and lost youths, only to be betrayed, which leads to some troubling conflicts. Ralph s actions and responses show that there is always a bit of savagery with civilization in humans. Ralph uses a conch shell, which symbolizes authority, to establish order. As though he is the head of an assembly, Ralph gives everybody a turn to speak as though ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This clash between authority and wild actions represent the outlying theme that both are found in all humans. Ordinarily, people view one another as sophisticated or crazy. Due to this discovery and the theme of this novel, it is proven that everybody contains both civilization and order, as does Ralph. Through Ralph, the author represented an adult or adolescent that is found today, in order, yet can get out of hand quickly. The universal theme is that there is no perfectly elegant or classy person, for each individual has some crazy attributes in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

As the body count rises, it becomes clear to authorities that the east end of London are the hunting grounds of a serial killer. BACKGROUND It firsts started out with the Whitechapel killings. The killer was fearfully famous in his time and still lives in the dark parts of history today the notorious name given to the killer was Jack the Ripper. • 5. Analysis Of Famine, Affluence And Morality By Peter Singer In November 1971, Peter Singer composed his essay Famine, Affluence and Morality in regards to famine in East Bengal (now East Pakistan). He stated that people were suffering and dying due to lack of food resources, shelter, clothing, and medical assistance. This and many other factors such as civil war, and natural disaster have turned approximately nine million people into insolvent refugees (Singer, 229). Though there seemed to be some institutions and private or public organizations that were capable of helping the refugees, there were no sufficient funds. Peter Singer argues that individuals from wealthy countries like the Western World are morally ought to help. Unfortunately, people have not made any significant response to such situation. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The example Singer used to illustrate his second principle is the drowning child in a shallow pond. If a person happened to be walking past by that pond, then that person can easily get involved to help. In this case, the only risk for that person is to have his clothes muddy (Singer 231). But how can tell that we are morally required to do such act? What if that person who happens to be walking past by that pond has a very important interview and he cannot risk having his formal clothes get muddy because there will be no chance that he ll get accepted for the job? An objection that can be used against this principle is Rahul Kumar s mutual aid # 2 which states that A person must do what is necessary to prevent a significant loss to someone else when she can do so at much less significant cost to herself (Kumar 299). In one of his examples, he illustrated Geoff as a world renowned experimental psychologist, who has a deserved reputation for his skill as a critic (Kumar, 299). More specifically, how Latinas are represented within the television industry. The study consisted of a content analysis of three television programs from the years 2015 2017. A procedure was employed and seven characters were selected. The categories that were used in the study were based on the character s ethnicity and gender, but the variables were developed based on previous research. The results have revealed that there s a slight change, however, Latinas continue to be underrepresented and negative stereotyped. Cultivation Theory Many people might say that prime time network programming is responsible for the way people perceive the different situations in the real world. The theory the researcher will discuss began as a way to test the impact that all this television viewing had on viewers (West Turner p. 421). In the late 1960s, George Gerbner developed the Cultivation Theory which later on evolved over time through the use of mass media. Through this theory is a television based theory, its assumptions and processes can be applied to the representation of Latinas in the media. Cultivation Theory is being used not just in the United States, but all around the world. This theory just like other theories is applied daily because society is constantly watching television to educate themselves on what s happening around the world. One of the reasons why this theory can be applied by anyone, it s because It asks people to assess their own media use alongside the socially constructed reality of the world they inhabit (West Turner p. 435). According to George Gerbner, cultivation theory says that as time passes more people in the real world of television are easier to believe that social reality resembles the ... The Four Theories of Government Essay Akira Simmons 3/5/09 Government There were fourdifferent theories of governments, the force theory, the evolutionary rule, the divine right theory, and social contract theory. The Force theory was when one person or group of people gained control of the area and forced others to submit to their rule. The evolutionary Rule basically said that the states would develop naturally out of family clans, tribes, ect. The divine right theory said that the state was created by God and God gave people of royal birth the divine right to rule . The divine right to rule is not used in the United States because of the different religions. The Social contract theory was created by Thomas Hobbes and he basically stated that the state people were British. This would not be a best fit form of government for the United States today because not everybody lives poor in every state. The Birthmark By Nathaniel Hawthorne Rawan Jabr Professor Stafford English 102 November 9th 2014 Nathaniel Hawthorne s The Birthmark The Birthmark is a short story authored by Nathaniel Hawthorne and published in 1848. The story is about Aylmer, a brilliant scientist who is obsessed with science and is planning to use his experiments to remove a birthmark on the face of his wife Georgiana. Aylmer s love for science made him yearn to obtain control of the entire divinity. His wife was among his victims of science that was stronger in him than the love he had for Georgiana. Aylmer became blind to science to the extent that he could not realize that he was damaging his wife and putting his marriage at risk. It examines the obsession with science and human perfection that often cause problems if not controlled as seen in the story. Hawthorne s aim with this tale was to warn its readers regarding the dangers of science and knowledge with the story, and this is analyzed below. Ronald Davis, Barbara Eckstein, Liz Rosenberg, Jerry A. Herndon, and Jeffrey Howard, are among the authors who have analyzed Nathaniel s work The Birthmark. To accurately define culture, we must take ourselves out of the cultural boundaries we have been accustomed to. Of course, this is impossible. Aneuploidy can be present in two ways if its present in only certain cells its known as somatic aneuploidy but its its found in all of the cells then its called constitutional aneuploidy. The effects of constitutional aneuploidy can be lethal. In humans, a condition known as down syndrome is caused is due to third copy of chromosome 21 and a third copy in any autosome will always result in childhood problems. (Hassold TJ, 1984). She comes down to Dante wearing a white veil representing faith, a green cape symbolizing hope and underneath the cape she wore a robe of flaming red signifying burning love. When she first arrives to Dante she comes to him in a harsh approach, something like an admiral. She does this to try to get a confession out of Dante, and mention to him that he cannot continue his journey if he is not happy and cleansed (University of Texas at Austin).
