The paper also presented a design which reduces the number of actuators compared to more
traditional models. Since this design configuration suggests newer development strategies, further
comparison research is necessary to develop an optimal baseline configuration. Research
considerations also need to include under what conditions the platform will be operating and
overall objectives. Muranoka, K., Okada, N., Kubo, D. (2009, April). Quad tilt wing VTOL UAV:

/10.2514/6.2009 1834 This paper was written to describe an unmanned quad tilt wing VTOL which
is capable of both efficient hover and forward cruise performance. The researchers goal is to design
and build a small prototype to demonstrate the operational capabilities and applications of such a
design throughout all phases of flight. Extensive wind tunnel testing was conducted to determine
the optimal aerodynamic characteristics needed for a quad tilt wing VTOL UAS. The results of
research and testing validated the authors concept but further development is required in the areas
of flight control and wind configurations. This paper supports further research into the concept of
VTOL UAS because the proof of concept was validated through actual flight testing. Stable flight
was achieved throughout all

Popular Mechanics
1. What is the title of the text and what is the text about?
The title of the text is Popular Mechanics, and is about a man and woman fighting over their baby
right before their separation. The fight turns physical, with the man and woman each pulling on the
baby, and ends when the man gives it one final hard pull.
2. What is the author s view? How do I know?
The author s view is that when people fight, they can end up wanting to win for winning s sake,
disregarding their negative impact on people around them, even those that they love. I deduced this
from the way that the author presented the actions of the man and woman. It appears that the man
may have overlooked the baby altogether had the woman not taken away the baby s picture. And
then ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example, the story starts with an ominous tone because the author chooses to describe the
water as dirty, and the environment becoming dark. He shows the destruction of a beautiful thing
by choosing to describe the knocking down of a flower pot during the struggle. He showed the
disregard of the baby s well being by choosing to describe the baby like an object while the man and
woman are fighting over it.
4. Is the evidence valid? How do I know?
The evidence presented by the author is valid if it feels realistic. For the evidence to feel realistic,
I have to be able to empathize with the characters during their struggles, and be able to picture the
described events happening in the real world. In this case, Carver does a good job painting a
realistic environment and allowing the characters to behave realistically, such that their brutal
actions are believable.
5. Is the evidence relevant? How do I know?
There may have been events described that were not directly relevant to the author s view, but since
overall the story paints a convincing picture of the author s view, there must have been enough

The Importance Of Internet Censorship In China
We have all been on our usual search engine and clicked on the random news articles. Whether it be
Kim Kardashian s holiday or the controversy between Donald Trump and the Russian president. We
are free to roam the internet here in Australia without the thought of someone stalking our searches.
However, some countries strictly limit the information the public is exposed to. Specifically, China
s internetrelies on censoring content to protect the public from cybercrimes and preventing the
leakage of information about the country. But is censorshipin China implemented to do harm to its
society, or purely to protect it? What is the extent of China s internet censorshipthat is actually
necessary for societal protection?
What is censorship in China?
Censorship is a way to control the information the public in China is able to see. Web chats, search
engines and social media platforms are the main aspects censored on the Chinese internet.
Controversial and belittling content are sought out by human and technical censors to be removed.
The Great Firewall is the main technical way the Chinese government is able to censor various
aspects of the internet and was initiated by China s Ministry of Public Security. Social media
platforms such as Facebook, Twitter and YouTube are censored as one can search up, for example,
how to overthrow the government, as stated by Jason Q. Ing, a researcher who delves deep into the
Chinese internet to understand the mysteries behind censorship . A

Theme Of Sunset Boulevard
SUNSET BOULEVARD
Institution
Name
The movie Sunset Boulevard written by Billy Wilder highlights the screenwriter s potential of
making a reflexive film more than focusing on the style and aesthetics. The movie revolves around
the life of a fallen silent movie star, Norma Desmond, and her fame delusions. With the introduction
of the sound in the film industry, she is brushed off and forgotten not only by her associates but
also by her dear fans. This lifestyle change caused her to be drawn into the world of superstardom
and luxury that she developed for herself in mind. Her universe involved her mansion full of
photos framed of her memories and herself in her past. She identifies very strong with her condition

The Wilder s Sunset Boulevard wasn t only scaring due to the controversial subject matter alone,
but also due to the realistic casting the leading roles. Swanson Gloria was astounding in the part
of Desmond Norma because of her real life skill with her faded career. Similarly, Stroheim s career
also diminished after the twenties, as it prepared him for his role that undertook as the silent film
director that turned the butler in the film. The most interesting idea of this life like cast was the
chemistry between these two role characters due to their relationships of the past

Comparing The Novel Third Business By Robertson Davies And...
Comparing the novel Fifth Business by Robertson Davies and the play Hamlet by William
Shakespeare, it is clear that both main characters place power and personal ambition above all
else. Throughout the novel and the play readers are able to experience, what happens to Percy
Boyd Staunton and Claudius as they place power and their own personal ambitions above all else.
When characters place power and personal ambition above all, they become more distant from
loved ones, lose the ones they love the most and end up murdered because they did what was
necessary to gain power. In both Hamletand Fifth Business the two main characters, Boy Staunton

When Hamlet becomes mad, he blames his madness on his mother, for marrying his uncle
Claudius. This divide created by King Claudius is never fixed and leaves both Hamlet and Gertrude
divided for ever. In Fifth Business Boy Staunton s distant from his trophy wife Leola, ultimately
led her to her downfall. Boy had only married Leola to be his trophy wife; he wanted her to dress
and act the part of a sophisticated wife. During the depression Boy made a lot of money and
became a very popular and rich person. With money come s great and powerful people and Boy
knew that he was making new friends who had a great deal of power. Boy recognized that he
needed a certain type of wife to stand by his side. All the pressure Boy had placed on Leola had
led her to lose interest in being a popular and supportive wife. She had lost heart in the fight to
become the sort of sophisticated, cultivated, fashionably alert women Boy wanted for a wife.
She loved shopping but her clothes were wrong ; ( Davies 52). When Leola went shopping and

she was letting him down. Her love for Boy was too much, and she knew that letting him down

UNC Communication Problems
Language and communication problems may lead to patient dissatisfaction, poor comprehension
and adherence, and lower quality of care. This is very important for the
UNC organization and their increasing population of immigrants from Ghana and Nigeria. In
Ghana, more than 250 languages and dialects are spoken (ghanaembassy.nl, n.d.) with 520 being
spoken in Nigeria (ethnologue.com, n.d.). This organization is meeting the CLAS Standards of 5,
6, 7 by offering language assistance services and ensuring the competence of their interpreters
without the use of family members. As Mr. Brice said in our interview, that sometimes the only
comforting thing to a patient in the hospital, is the sound of the interpreter speaking their language.

By decreasing the obesity rate, the patient health outcome is increased through nutrition, healthier
diets, and education. It can lower health care costs because of the potential of decreased chronic
diseases related to obesity. This can have a huge impact on a community struggling under poverty.
Children growing up healthier because of diet changes and education initiatives taught early on can
impact the organization by achieving a health care goal of ultimately improve the long term health
of a community. Another benefit is in the organization s efforts in cultural diversity and the African
American community. Through community education and hospital programs, UNC is meeting the
need for a greater cultural competency for the increased ethnic patient population. In an era of
increasing patient choice, hospitals must focus on improving care to retain patients and increase
patient satisfaction. Cultural competency builds trust and understanding between patients and
providers. Being culturally competent and providing language assistance are valuable tools in the
process to provide quality care for diverse populations. Increased patient morale and trust comes
from being understood, respected and being treated with culturally competent care. Trust translates
into a long term relationship between the patient and the hospital. A more satisfied patient will lead
to positive word of mouth

Corporate Branding And Consumer Opinion
Corporate branding and consumer opinion Corporations need to sell their product if they want to
survive in the business industry. Consumers are aware of what they desire, dislike, and for the
most part make their choices accordingly. For those that cannot decide as easily, there are many
choices of different brands of the same product sold by different companies. When a corporation
puts their label or name on the product, it is called branding (Klein 778). That is the way of
consumerism and a way to make a product more tantalizing, is to think of extraordinary marketing
concepts. This essay will discuss corporate brands and the effect on consumers, then, the paper will
examine the concept of Neuromarketing. Corporations are not forcing anyone to use their product,
but they are trying to capitalize and make themselves a household name. There is an expression,
keeping up with the Jones or nowadays the Kardashians, and what that means is, the assumption
would be that someone is attempting to obtain the same type of lifestyle or the same objects as
someone else. Celebrities pay substantial amounts of money for fashion and designer product and
many of them participate in campaign ads promoting different products. Celebrities make us think
that if we purchase these items, we could be like the rich and famous. Often corporations make
you think that if you buy their products, you can do and be better at life in general. For instance;

Exploratory Play Analysis
Categories of Play
Kerri engaged in play and exploratory/sensorimotor play and relational/functional throughout the
video. Examples of exploratory/sensorimotor play included shaking and banging of a hair brush.
Relational/functional play examples included appropriately stacking rings, use of a baby bottle
directed toward self and adult, functionally stacking cups, engaging appropriately in a farm pop up
game, pushing buttons on a phone and putting the phone up to her ear, and functionally putting
rings into according slots. Overall, relational/functional play was displayed more during the session.
Attention Span
Kerri was occupied the most with the rings and slot game. She engaged in functional play with this
item for 2 minutes and 45 seconds. She engaged in functional play with the car for the least amount

She required verbal, gestures, and hand over hand prompts. With the prompting, Kerri maintained a
basic level of playing.
Similarly, Kerri was the most distractible while playing with the farm pop up toy; she was
distracted by noise and movement of people, but did come back to concentrate on the toy. She
was also distracted from playing with the baby doll and bottle when a cup was placed in front of
her. Once the cup was presented, Kerri moved on and did not come back to play with the baby
doll. Additionally, she was briefly distracted by a noise when playing with the ring stack, but
attention was brought back to the toy after a few seconds.
Schemas
Kerri showed a low level schema while shaking and tapping the hair brush. However, a complex
schema was shown when she brushed the baby doll s hair, stacked and rotated the cups, and slide
the rings into the according slot. Kerri showed discriminate schemas during the video as played
functionally with toys, for instance the using the hair brush to brush hair, and stacked the

The assassination occurred on 28th June, 1914. The Archduke and his wife, Sophie, were
travelling in an open top car to a reception at the city hall. The Black Hand, a group of Serbian
nationalists, had previously attempted at assassinating Ferdinand, but failed. This second attempt
was unplanned and a coincidence. Gavrilo Princip happen to be waiting outside of the store he had
just eaten from when he saw the Archduke. He fired two shots killing each almost instantly. One
hit Sophie and the other, Ferdinand. (Eyewitnesstohistory.com, 2014) The Archduke was a target
by Serbia and the Back Hand because he was seen as the main obstacle in getting independence
and running the government. This went for all 12 cultural groups at this time. This assassination
was an event which was in the lead up to the beginning of world war one, four weeks later. These
deaths caused horror but it wasn t an international catastrophe. It was really Austria which sparked
an international catastrophe by sending Serbia an ultimatum. Austria Hungary were looking for any
reason to start a war on Serbia. They wanted to damaged Serbia and boast, believing that they

The Destruction Of Visual Representations Of Religion
What is iconoclasm? Iconoclasm can be defined: the destruction of visual representations of
religion. The word is Greek for image smashing. More specifically meaning: the impulse to destroy
images for political and religious purposes. This is due to the rejection of what the art piece
represents. The controversy involving iconoclasm is the fear that people will worship the image
represented instead of the object it represents. A reason for Iconoclasts (those who reject images) to
follow iconoclasm comes from the second of the Ten Commandments, which discusses not
worshipping the image of an idol rather than the idol itself [idol meaning God] (Icons and
Iconoclasm, Iconoclastic Controversies, The Ten Commandments). Iconoclasm started in... Show

Sa im al Dahr did not like this display of devotion, so he defaced the Sphinx by destroying the
nose. He was later executed for vandalism (Epic World History, Iconoclastic Controversy, ISIS
and Iconoclasm, What Happened). The Taliban demolished Buddha s of Bamiyan in 2001 because
they were seen as idols. The destruction of the statues was a political movement. The United
Nations sent money to restore the statues, meanwhile Taliban children were dying because of
sanctions against Afghanistan, but the UN was more concerned with statues than people. Greek
and Roman statues are thought to be missing their arms and heads to prevent worship of the
statues rather than god. Pope Gregory the Great thought the Greek/Roman statues lost all power
because you do not know what god the statues represents, and therefore cannot be worshipped
(Why Extreme Islamists). The terrorist group ISIS who has destroyed many artifacts in Syria and
Iran shows modern iconoclasm. The Bagdad Museum s website now reads 2015: ISIS destroys
what is left of ancient history. Statues in the Mosul Museum have been jackhammered, books have
been burned, Nimrud was bulldozed, and the Tomb of Jonah was blown up. Beheading is not

The Physics Of Welding Process
WELDING PROCESS
Overview:
It is defined as a process of joining two pieces of metals by heating the metal at high temperature
which results in softening or melting of metals. There are various other ways of welding, they are
as follows:
With or without application of pressure.
With or without the use of filling metals (Melting point is 800Вє F)
There is a tremendous progress in recent times over the new methods, applications and systems for
welding.
HISTORY OF METAL WORKING:
This processes are practiced since the humans began to found that they could shape rocks by
chipping them with other rocks. The first metal which were used by early human beings was
copper that is Ductile (It can be easily bend or drawn, hammered). The welding technology
began 3000 years ago in Egypt (4000 B.C and USA before 2000 B.C). The Old Testaments which
were recovered from the earth s crust reflects the use of Forged metals, bronze and iron metals.
In between 3000 and 2000 B.C Bronze metal was developed and Iron came into existence several
thousand years after the invention of copper. Philistine recovered four iron furnaces of 1300 B.C
this was the same metals used in production of swords, chisels, daggers and spearheads. Egyptian
began making iron tools during 900 to 850 B.C, they replaced usage of bronze in various
manufacturing applications with iron after 800 B.C.

The Analysis of the Character Ophelia on Hamlet Essay
In William Shakespeare s Hamlet, Ophelia is the most static character in the play. Instead of
changing through the course of the play, she remains suffering in the misfortunes perpetrated upon
her. She falls into insanity and dies a tragic death. Ophelia has issues surviving without a male
influence, and her downfall is when all the men in her life abandon her. Hamlets Ophelia, is a
tragic, insane character that cannot exist on her own. In Elizabethan times, Ophelia is restricted as
a woman. She is obedient to the commands of the men in her life although she often attempts to do
the right thing. Polonius, Laertes, and Hamlet all have a grasp on Ophelia and who she is. She
does not have the freedom to change her fate as Hamlet does.... Show more content on

Hamlet knows that she is helping her dad, Polonius, spy on him. He accuses Ophelia, and all
women, of being a breeder of sinners (Shmoop Editorial Team 1). Hamlet orders Ophelia to a
nunnery, but she cannot call him out on it because she is not supposed to know what the word
means. This is not the only criticism that Hamlet calls out to Ophelia. He says that if Ophelia is
to marry a man, she will turn her husband into a monster because she will cheat on him (Shmoop
Editorial Team 1). Hamlet: If thou dost marry, I ll give thee this plague for thy dowry: be thou
as chaste as ice, as pure as snow, thou shalt not escape calumny. Get thee to a nunnery, farewell.
Or, if thou wilt needs marry, marry a fool, for wise men know well enough what monsters you
make of them. To a nunnery, go, and quickly too. Farewell (3.1.130 134). The lack of women in
Ophelia s life deprives her from any influence in her life to help guide her. Gabrielle Dane says,
Motherless and completely circumscribed by the men around her, Ophelia has been shaped to
conform to external demands, to reflect others desires (qtd. in Brown 1). Since Ophelia has no
woman influence in her life, Polonius is left as the dominant role in her life (Brown 1). She is an
obedient daughter and abides by the rules her father gives her with no protest. She is seen as her
father s property (Maki 2). Her

Technology And The Field Of Criminal Justice Essay
Do you remember when our policemen had to ride around on horses to get from place to place?
Most probably have heard about it, but think to themselves all I have ever known as police cars
and motorcycles . For over a century the world has been making advances with technology in all
areas of life, and the field of criminal justice has not been an exception to this technological
advances. These advances in technology has taken the criminal justice field a long way from
riding a horse bareback to driving armored cars. These advances along with many others have
almost completely changed how things are handled in all aspects of the law. Technology is the
persistent application of information in the design, production and use of goods and services, and
in the organization of human activities. Criminal Justice is the system of law enforcement,
involving police, lawyers, courts, and corrections, used for all phases of criminal procedures and
penalty. As technology is used in the organization of human activities and criminal justice deals
with the criminal aspects of humans it constantly unites these two things. As technology advances,
so will it is use in the field of criminal justice. These advancements are necessary to help keep up
with the growing and evolving world, but it is also necessary to make sure that this type of
technology does not begin to infringe on a person s individual civil liberties. The 1900s brought on
many technology advances regarding the criminal justice

Eyewitness Testimony In The Criminal Justice System
Word count: 807
Eyewitness testimony is an account given by a person who was present at an event for example a
robbery and they give a recollection of the event in front of the court of law. The testimony can
include a description of the perpetrators, details of the crime scene and other factors which could
help determine the defendant s guilt or innocence. An eyewitness testimony is relevant in the
criminal justice system because it s one of the main forms of evidence used in court. Eyewitness
testimony can be unreliable; an example of this could be discussion by witnesses which will be
discussed later on the essay. There are measures that the Criminal Justice system (CJS) can put in
place to increase the reliability of the testimony in turn ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The work of loftus and palmer showed how easy it is to alter someone s answer by simply
changing the question given to them. The CJS are taking steps to take more notice of the problems
identified in this essay. Eyewitness testimony is a crucial part of prosecution even in the modern
day and can be the tipping point whether the guilty defendant gets sentenced or

Part-Whole Effect Vs Composite Effect
BACKGROUND
The ability of the human visual system to integrate facial features into a gestalt whole is one of
the processes that seems to contribute the most to human face perception (referred to as holistic
face processing; Taubert et al.; 2006). A large number of behavioral studies provide evidence that
demonstrate that faces are processed holistically. Two examples that provide evidences for holistic
processing are the composite effect and the part whole effect. In composite effect tasks,
participants are required to decide whether two identical top halves are the same (Goffaux
Rossion, 2006; Le Grand, Mondloch, Maurer, Brent, 2004; McKone, 2008). Evidences suggest this
task is more difficult when the two top halves are paired with different bottom halves, indicating
that perception of the identity of features in one half of a face is changed by a whole face ... Show

The part whole effect describes the difficulty subjects have recognizing familiar faces from isolated
features (Davidoff Donnelly, 1990; Donnelly Davidoff, 1999; Tanaka Farah, 1993; Tanaka Sengco,
1997). These two effects suggest that features seen in a whole face context are integrated, instead
than being represented and processed independently. These observations are supported by
neurophysiological data fromsingle cell studies (Freiwald, Tsao, Livingston, 2009; Tsao, Freiwald,
Tootell, Livingstone, 2006) and event related potential studies (Jacques, d Arripe, Rossion, 2007),
confirming the idea that faces are processed holistically (Farah, Wilson, Drain, Tanaka, 1998;
McKone, Kanwisher, Duchaine, 2007). Although there have been many demonstrations of holistic
processing on judgments of face identity, there have been few studies which investigated whether
holistic processing is involved in trait

Baz Luhrmann In William Shakespeare s Romeo And Juliet
Baz Luhrmanns contribution to the art of film, brings about a flamboyant and revitalizing
side to the industry. Through the use of cinematic language, his story telling techniques and
belief in the theatrical cinema come to life.
Baz Luhrmann has a very distinctive directing approach with particular techniques that
define his style. He presents his films as if he were telling a story, which he invites you into.
His stories are simple and he tends to give away the ending at the beginning of the film,
which intrigues you to find out more about what had taken place. For example Romeo and
Juliet starts with a news flash on a television screen describing city brawls that have taken
place and later in the film there are more fights ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
And in Romeo and Juliet, Juliet s mothers
costumes give way to his exaggerated style.
The language Luhrmann has used in Romeo and Juliet is lifted from the pages id
Shakespeare s text, which is surprisingly pleasing as the dialogue fits seamlessly into the
style of the film. Luhrmann has stripped the dialogue right down to the necessities in order
to sell to a commercial, younger audience, who struggles to understand the complexities of
the original dialogue.
Baz Luhrmanns films are known for their outlandish visuals and mash up of music creatively
interwoven into the scene. Luhrmann is a master of knowing how to highlight important
ideas and themes in a work that he is adapting. In Romeo and Juliet, he recognized the
importance of violence, and how a modern audience would not understand sword fighting
as being of extreme violence because in today s society there are much more dangerous
weapons available. Therefore the use of guns and a modern setting of Verona were
introduced to the Shakespeare film adaptation.
Baz Luhrmann was criticised for the amount of partying and luxury shown in The Great
Gatsby for it was seen to be unrealistic to the time, even if it did take place during

The Swimming Pool Reconstruction At Naperville North
The swimming pool reconstruction at Naperville North was part of a two part renovation
project, including the parking lot where the students park their cars. This two part project ended
up costing the school $4,353,142.00, according to Lamp Incorporated Construction. Obviously,
the parking lot renovations were completed for the beginning of the school year in August,
because if they were not there would be no space for students to park and many people would be
upset. There were fewer people to complain about the swimming pool not being completed for the
start of the girls swim team season, so, logically, the parking lot was the more prominent focus of
the construction workers to finish for the start of the school year.Needless to say the start of my
high school swimming career did not go as I had imagined it, and the genderinequality became more
and more evident as I continued in the NapervilleNorth swim team program. We had early
morning practice at Naperville Central, meaning we practiced earlier than a normal morning
practice so we would have time to travel back to Naperville North. Sometimes the bus that would
take us from Naperville Central in the morning to Naperville North was late and the swim team
was late to class, which was frightening as a freshman. Then after school instead of going
straight to practice we would go home, for what seemed like no time at all, and then we would
have to change and get the carpool going so we could all get to Naperville Central to

Zachary Taylor Compromise Of 1850
Zachary Taylor, elected in 1849, only served sixteen months in office as president of the United
States. Zachary Taylor was a commemorated war general for his roles within the War of 1812,
the Black Hawk War, Seminole Wars, and the Mexican War. Yet, it was only after the Mexican
War did he get public recognition and received a nomination by the Whig Party for president.
Taylor never officially finished his education and never seemed to particularly care for politics.
Besides his own election, he had never voted and he did not even vote for himself. Taylor was a
peculiar candidate, he had no political experience whatsoever and to be potentially be a
president shocked many. Fortunately for him, former president Martin Van Buren caused a split
of votes between himself and Lewis Cass. He also happened to be slave owner, which appealed
to many Southerners. It wasn t until he was elected that his ideals were revealed. Due to his time
with the army, he had a strong nationalist ideology as his main goal was to preserve the unity of
the Union. Taylor supported slavery, yet the idea of expanding slavery was not apart of his agenda.

Essay on Zora Neale Hurston
On January 7, 1891, Zora Neale Hurston was born in the tiny town of Notasulga, Alabama. She
was the fifth of eight children in the Hurston household. Her father John was a carpenter,
sharecropper, and a Baptist preacher; and her mother Lucy, a former schoolteacher. Within a year
of Zora s birth, the family moved to Eatonville, Florida; a town, which held historical significance
as the first, incorporated Black municipality in the United States. In 1904, thirteen year old Zora
was devastated by the death of her mother. Later that same year, her unaffectionate father removed
her from school and sent her to care for her brother s children. A rambunctious and restless
teenager, Zora was eager to leave the responsibility of that household.... Show more content on

In 1925, Hurston headed to New York, just as the Harlem Renaissance was at its crest. She
enrolled in Barnard College to study under Franz Boas, the father of anthropology. While there,
Hurston married an old Howard boyfriend named Herbert Sheen, but the marriage was short
lived. After graduation, Zora returned to her hometown of Eatonville to collect folklore as
material for her blossoming writing career. The late 1920 s marked a resurgence of her literary
muse as Hurston published several works, and consequently gained financial sponsorship from
wealthy New York patrons. The 1930 s and early 1940 s marked the peak of Hurston s literary
career. It was during this time that she completed graduate work at Columbia, published four
novels and an autobiography, and was awarded a Guggenheim Fellowship. Her writing brought
her to the Caribbean where she became so intrigued by the practice of voodoo that she began
incorporating these supernatural elements into her novels and stories. Although her work was
receiving increasing acclaim from the white literati of New York, Zora often felt under attack from
many members of the Black Arts Movement. She termed these detractors, members of the
quot;niggerati quot;, for being close minded in their criticism of her racial politics. By the mid
1940s Hurston s writing career was faltering. At one point she was arrested and

OPTICAL FIBER BASICS:
Optical fiber consists of three parts named the core, he cladding and the coating or buffer. The
basic structure is shown in figure 1. The center is a round and hollow pole of dielectric material
and is made of glass. Light will proliferate through center of the fiber. The cladding is made of
dielectric material with a file of refraction and is made of glass or plastic. The file of refraction of
the cladding material is short of what that of the center material. The covering or cushion is a
layer of material used to secure an optical fiber from physical harm and is made of plastic. The
covering is versatile and averts scraped spots.

Optical strands are partitioned into two gatherings named as single mode and multimode. For
arrangement of list of refraction, we separate between step record and inclination file. Step record
strands have a consistent list profile over the entire cross segment. Slope file filaments have a
nonlinear, rotationally symmetric record profile, which tumbles off from the focal point of the fiber

Guidelines And Suggestions For A Recommendation
Introduction
Having a well known and standard process to create a policy or procedure is crucial in an
organization. The lack of one could lead to confusion and hindrance in the implementation of a
potentially necessary process. In many organizations, however, there is room for improvement.
Recommendations and suggestions should be encouraged, as they can aid in the success of these
plans. It is not enough, though, to simply suggest improvements. Action must be taken on the
suggestions, or they will likely remain unchanged. Succeeding this, once a recommendation has
been implemented, and organization must implement some way of measuring the status of it. This
paper focuses on the metrics Organization A uses to measure the success of a recommendation. All
opinions expressed in this paper are that of the author unless otherwise specified. The policy
development process in Organization A is contingent upon what department a policy affects. For
example, if the Accounting department needs to develop a process that handles, for example,
sending a report to a supervisor, then the procedure simply must be worked out within the
department. In this example, the policy may not be written down; it may just be understood and
common practice. However, if the Accounting department found the need to implement a policy
that specified how all employees must handle expense reports, then this must be decided by the
core business unit (BU) leaders.

The Demand And Supply Analysis
Introduction: The most important tool in microeconomics is the demand and supply analysis.
Demand refers to the amount of the product which is desired by the purchaser at a certain price
level where as the supply of the product represents the amount of quantity that is supplied in the
market at a certain level of price. There are different factors on which demand is dependent.
Apart from the price of the product, the demand depends upon the income, the number of
consumers, preferences of the consumers and income of the consumers. The supply of the
product depends upon the price of the product, future expectation of the prices and price of the
factors of production (Colander 2013). Resources availability is limited in the country so there
is a need to observe the demand and supply so that the resources are not exhausted. The demand
and supply mechanism is analyzed before getting into a detailed discussion upon the demand and
supply of human resources and iron ore resources in the Australian economy. Several newspaper
articles has been collected showing the demand for the skills in the state of Queensland and the
supply iron ore has dropped in respect of the increase in global supply more than the demand.
Mechanism of Demand and Supply: When the other factors, which are seen to affect the demand
for the product is constant then a rise in the price of the product, will lead to fall and when there is
fall in the prices then there will be an increase in the demand. There is

BTK Story
BTK: The Story Abstract Dennis Lynn Rader was born to Dorothea Mae and William Elvin
Rader on March 9, 1945. Otero was found murdered in his home alongside three of his family
members. Joseph Otero s wife was beaten, choked and bound before Rader killed her. Rader s next
BTK victim was a 21 year old named Kathryn Bright.

Similarly to Rader s first set of
victims, she had been bound with a cord, somewhat clothed and had been choked and stabbed
numerous times.

Rader s last two victims were 28 year old Vicki Wegerle, and 62 year old
Dolores Davis.

Rader, was reported missing by her loved ones back in April of 1985. Investigators found her
body eight days later on an abandoned road. Hedge had been strangled, and then chocked with a
pair of women s pantyhose. Hedge was 53. Rader s last two victims were 28 year old Vicki

ethics such as the issue of cloning. I have chosen the domain of applied ethics as viewed from the
Aristotelian point of view precisely because certain issues have been virtually unexamined by
scholars. I shall direct attention to certain treatises of the Aristotelian corpus such as On the History
of Animals, On the Generation of Animals, On the Soul, The Nicomachean Ethics and The Politics.

We learn about the Pythagorean views on marriage and procreation from Iamblichus (BII, 211
212) who indicates that a man should take the best of care for bringing a child into the world
considering both the time and the way this should happen. What is more important, however, is
to relate their views on procreation to their theory of the immortality of the soul. After death the
soul disappears like a dream and dwells in a spiritual heavenly world until it reappears cleansed in
a new birth. (2) The soul keeps only the fragmented happy moments of each of its cycles on an
earthly life and will conclude its dream in the heavenly world, which is interrupted by its visitations
(reincarnations) on earth. Thus, it is evident that for the Pythagoreans and, as result, the Hippocratic
tradition, abortion would be morally unacceptable, since it stops this journey of the soul the
incorporeal part of the human body towards its ultimate enlightenment, i.e. its relation to the divine.
After all, such cases of bloody events like abortions, were seen as possible sources of ritual
impurity. It is also noteworthy that such a view on abortion would relate to the conservative
approach to abortion according to which the fetus has full moral status which implies that its right
to life must be

Computer Programmer Pierre Omidyar Established Ebay Inc.
In 1995 computer programmer Pierre Omidyar established eBay Inc. (eBay) from his living
room in San Jose, California. He created a simple prototype of an auction site on his personal
website and called it Auction Web, then let people list items for auction. He was amazed at the
number of buyers and sellers that his site attracted and he soon had to set up a separate site
devoted to auctions. By charging sellers for posting their auction items, and taking a small
percentage of each sale, the company made money simply by supplying a place for buyers and
sellers to meet. Business grew through word of mouth. A Feedback Forum was added to allow
buyers and sellers a way to rate each other for honesty and reliability. Branching out from
collectibles, the site quickly expanded into a vast range of items, including electronics, home
furnishings and appliances, and cars and other vehicles. In 1996, Omidyar hired Jeff Skoll as
his first employee and the company s first president. Skoll is credited with writing a business
plan that took eBay from a start up to a sensational success. In 1996, Auction Web hosted 250,000

Utilization of Satellite Information to Screen Carbon...
Article 1 Overview: This study investigated the utilization of satellite information to screen carbon
monoxide (CO) and particulate matter (PM) in Northern Thailand throughout the dry season when
woodland flames are known to be a vital reason for air contamination. Satellite information,
incorporating Measurement of Pollution in the Troposphere (MOPITT) CO, Moderate Resolution
Imaging Spectroradiometer vaporized optical profundity (MODIS AOD), and MODIS fire
hotspots, were examined with air contamination information measured at nine programmed air
quality overseeing stations in the study range for February April months of 2008 2010. The
association examination indicated that every day CO and PM with size beneath 10 Ојm (Pm10)
were connected with the woodland fire hotspot include, particularly the country regions with the
most extreme relationship coefficient (R) of 0.59 for CO and 0.65 for Pm10. The correspondences
between MODIS AOD and Pm10, between MOPITT CO and CO, and between MODIS AOD and

Paradise Lost Character Analysis
In the story of Paradise Lost by John Milton, many of the fallen angels exhibit certain qualities
that could be interpreted as virtues. Some of these qualities include courage, justice, and
perseverance. However, many say these characters are meant to be portrayed as completely evil,
which leaves a reader wondering as to why they display a certain level of morality. It is obvious
that the characters believe that they have been wronged and are seeking justice for themselves
against what they view as a tyrant of the heavens. However, when reading the text, I noticed that
John Miltongave the fallen angels many humanlike qualities, making it impossible to have any
wholly evil characters. Throughout the entire story, Milton illustrates the fallen angels as having
both physical and mental resemblance to humans. He even goes as far as to discuss Satan s
physiognomy in the first book, saying, ...but his face deep scars of thunder had entrenched, and
care sat on his faded cheek, but under brows of dauntless courage, and considerate pride waiting
revenge... (1. 600 604). This goes to show that Milton at the very least has a picture of the fallen
angels in his mind s eye as being human in appearance. As well as this, Satan also brings up an
interesting argument regarding the mind, asserting that the mind if its own place, and in itself can
make a Heavenof Hell, a Hell of Heaven (1. 254 255). In this quote, he is essentially saying that
attitude has everything to do with one s

Summary Of Software Prefects
Abstract Early predictions of software defects during software development life cycle play a
vital role to produce successful software project. Besides, it reduces the cost of software
development, maintains high quality, improves software testing and facilitates procedures to
identify defect prone of software packages. We need more research studies today to improve
convergence across research studies due to its use a different of inconsistent measurements.
Therefore, to avoid several types of bias: different sizes of the dataset are used in our study to avoid
the bias of data. Comparative studies relied on appropriate accuracy indicators suitable for the

Therefore, if we can identify which modules in software most probably to be defective it can
help us to reduce our limited resources and time of development [2]. Based on the specific types of
software metrics in the previous research studies, numbers of predictive classification model are
proposed for software quality it can explore the defectives in some of the software modules by
using several types of classifiers such as decision tree [3], SVM [4], ANN [5] and NaГЇve Bayes
[6]. The classification model is one of the most common approaches used for early prediction of
software defects [7], including two categories: Fault Prone (FP) software and Non Fault Prone
(NFP) software. The prediction model represented by a set of code attribute or software metrics [7,

multiple learner classifiers by using the different subset of feature to improve the accuracy of
supervised learning. Another advantage of ensemble methods, it enhances the performance by
using different types of classifiers together because it reduces the variance between them and keeps
bias error rate without increasing. Two main types of ensemble methods [9]: Bagging and Boosting
techniques [10]. The first one depends on subsampling of the training dataset by replacement

Analysis Of How Junk Food Can End Obesity
Elisabeth Wilgenburg Teresa Ishigaki English 3 15 September 2014 An Analysis of How Junk
Food can End Obesity David H. Freedman, a consulting editor for John Hopkins and author of
several books, writes in How Junk food can End Obesity about the dangers of ruling out Fast
Food as a way to decrease obesity in society. He argues that using nutrients to gauge the
healthiness of a food is an adequate way to increase health in society, and that most healthy
foods contain a lot of unhealthy ingredients that do not promote health. He also advocates small
changes of about 50 100 calories in meals to encourage people to stay on their diets and promote
long term weight loss. He also points out the severe monetary difference between health foods
and fast food. He ultimately wants to promote using the forum of food in society to decrease
obesity in society, rather than making the large leap from junk food to whole, natural foods.
Freedman s argument is a claim of value, because he wants people to change their view point
from looking down on obese people for their dietary decisions and focus on encouraging the food
industry to cut back on calories in food. Near the end of the article, he does support for
government action, but it was more of an afterthought rather than a call for action. He even
provides evidence that taxation has not always worked; Denmark did manage to enact a fatty food
tax, but it was deemed a failure when consumers went next door into Germany and Sweden to

Great Gatsby Color Symbolism Essay
Colors can be symbolic of infinite various things. Artists take this truth into attention while
selecting the colors they use in their paintings; as these colors are used to generate emotions
inside their target market. Identical to an artist, F. Scott Fitzgerald makes use of light and color in
his masterpiece to create float and harmony. There is, however, an additional, extensive motive for
his use of light and coloration symbolism. Fitzgerald uses lights and hues to focus on the critical

How Lean And How Companies Reduced Their Environmental...
Lean synchronization is the aim of achieving the flow of products and services which is able to
deliver exactly what customers want, in exact quantities, exactly when needed, exactly where
required at the lowest possible cost (Slack et al, 2010) . Lean s mandate to eliminate waste, this
aspect makes it an ideal way for organisations to minimize their impact their products have on the
environmental. The wastethat has impact on the environment is: bad use of material, people
management, inadequate process design, inefficient production etc. In this essay I will further
elaborate what Lean synchronization is and how companies reduced their environmental impact on

This is achieved by creating a system where (materials, information, customers) can be synced in a
way that smooth flow can be achieved throughout operations; the very well synced system can help
avoid unpredictability, which causes waste because people hold inventory, capacity or time, to
protect them self s from unpredictable event.
Overall pinpointing, exactly what lean synchronisation in few sentences will be difficult, (Slack
et, al 2013) they view lean as three things; philosophy of how to run operations, lean as a method
of planning and controlling operations and lean as a set of tools that improve operations
performance. Lean is a way of running operation; it is set of principles which aim to smooth the
flow through processes by doing all the simple things well and progressively doing them better.
Lean is also a way of planning and controlling operations, it concerns with how well managers
mange material, information, and customers to flow throughout the operations. The aim is to
coordinate those flows in a way they are able to eliminate waste using different techniques such as
pull control . Lastly, the main pillar of what lean synchronisation is lean as a set of tools that
improve operation performance; this is where operation management generally view improvement
as its main purpose.

Essay about 17th Century Culture
Many important pieces of literature were produced during the 17th century. One of the most
prominent literary voices in history was William Shakespeare. He wrote and produced plays
many famous tragedies during the early 1600 s such as Twelfth Night, Measure for Measure,
Othello, Hamlet, Macbeth, and King Lear which many believe it was one of his best. Miguel de
Cervantes became a legendary author when he penned the novel, Don Quixote de la Mancha.
This lengthy and popular story is considered a valuable work not only to literature buffs, but also
to those interested in understanding what life was like in Spain during the reign of Kings Phillip
II and III (Taylor 101). On the other side of the world in Japan, Kabuki emerged as a genre of...

There is little to argue about when suggesting that the Baroque period of art and architecture during
the 1600 s was characterized by a positive, vigorous, and passionate style (Gerdes 253),
enveloped in lavish splendor, glorifying the imagery of highborn aristocrats, religion, and
homoeroticism. The theatrical, grandiose, and ornate style was heavily influenced by
Christianity, life, love, symbolism, allegory, and morbidity. The artist Michelangel Merisi da
Caravaggio a leading artist during this period used a combination of religious scenes in
everyday locales filled with rough looking common people (Kleiner 549) along with the
intensity of the dramatic Baroque passion for richness in color and texture. One of Caravaggio s
most famous pieces of art was the Entombment of Christ, and David with the Head of Goliath, for
which he painted his own head as the victim, with blood drips from his freshly severed neck,
sparing nobody the gory facts of decapitation (Harris 49). The disturbed genius was also interested
in the fresco painting of the Renaissance and this is perhaps what enticed Caravaggio to paint the
Creation of Adam on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel. The history of the Baroque period cannot be
discussed further without mentioning the Dutch artist Rembrandt Harmenszoon van Rijn, whose
Baroque paintings rose to universal significance and appeal (Gerdes 264). His style created
gorgeous movement and fluidity characterized by

The role of complement amp; antibody antigen complexes Antibodies have two distinct functions:
to recognise and combine with an antigen, and to activate a defence mechanism for example by
activating the complement sequence (Dale et. al., 1994). This sequence involves more than thirty
proteins (Mollnes amp; Harboe, 1996) and has the function of the destruction and removal of
invading micro organisms and subcellular debris and to promote clearance of antigen antibody
complexes (Dale et. al., 1994). These functions are achieved mainly via complement s ability to
attract leukocytes (Lessof, 1993). The interaction of antibody with specific antigen results in the
formation of the antibody antigen complex. This complex has several functions: for instance, to
immobilise an antigen therefore preventing attack upon host cells, to block active toxic regions of
particular bacteria, and to allow phagocytic attack. Memory cells Once the antigens have been
destroyed the plasma cells disappear leaving a few as memory cells which enable a swift response
upon second exposure to the antigen (Trounce, 1997). Memory cells are the basis of active
immunisation against bacteria (Downie et. al., 1994). Humoral immunity is most efficient against
antigens dissolved in body fluids, that is extracellular pathogens, primarily bacteria whereas cell
mediated immunity is most effective against intracellular pathogens such as viruses (Tortora amp;
Grabowski, 1996). CELL MEDIATED

Immigrant Homelessness In Canada
The social issue of immigrant homelessness is the topic our group has chosen for this report. Being
children of immigrant parents, we felt more connected to this topic. This issue concerns us because
it is an issue of inequality and a crime against basic human rights which simply cannot be swept
under a rug. Every human being has worth and deserves a right to having their basic needs met.
Toronto, research and data collected on homeless immigrants identifies the unstable realities they
face, making immigrants a high risk sub group that face particular challenges and require special
strategies in homelessnessprevention (Allen, S. 2003). With an increase in immigrant families

What this does is constitute a lack of means for individuals to provide for themselves in an
economy that signifies a lack of financial means. Practices such as this can lead to unemployment
for a vast majority of individuals, which is inextricably linked to the perpetuation of homelessness.
Pro businesses, rather than public institutions, benefit more from government subsidies when said
governments place emphasis on corporate welfare over social welfare. According to the course
textbook, North American governments have increased the subsidies for corporate welfare four
times more than for social welfare (Centennial College, 2015). In the past three and a half decades,
the subsidy percentage for social welfare has decreased so much so that individuals living below
the poverty line survive only through the help of food banks (Centennial College, 2015). With
governments focusing their efforts on corporate welfare, individuals on social welfare are put at a
greater disadvantage. Due to the lack of support for social welfare, it is safe to logically assume
that individuals who require assistance will not be getting the financial support necessary to thrive
in an economic system that creates inequalities. As such, because poverty and homelessness are

Gearheads? Well this group mainly get together in car meets. This car meets are made by
gearheads, you don t have to be someone of high status to be able to organize this, you just have
to let a lot of gear heads know where to meet up, and their passion for cars will drive them there.
In this car meets, these Gearheads have the opportunity to share their improved cars to other car
fanatics. These car meets helps them express themselves and get more ideas on improving their
vehicles. This social activity has a huge impact on the motivation of a car fanatic. Hermilo,

The Importance Of The Natural Hoof Care Practitioner Of...
I predict that the natural hoof care practitioner of the future will be less of a trimmer, than a
diagnostician of healthy changes in the hoof and an expert at creating natural behavioral stimuli in
the track that serve the adaptation mechanism (Jackson). What I will be talking about in this
research paper is shoeing horses. Contemplating the workings of horse hooves, I found that a horse
being shod does not hurt the hoof like so many would argue because when a horse is working on
hard ground the wearing down of the hoof is greater than the hoof growth and protection prevents
soreness. My main points throughout this paper will be the history of horseshoes, different types of

The sensitivity of horses hooves was minimized by the use of the iron horseshoe, which came into
use in Europe around 950. The horseshoe provided protection against hard surfaces and on soft
ground and allowed horses to dig in their hooves to pull loads (Oxford Encyclopedia 516). Not
only was the use of shoes documented in Europe, but it was also documented in Asia. The great
advances made in archaeology now make it manifest that shoeing was known to the Romans and
the ancient Gauls... Horse shoes have been discovered repeatedly in the camps and graves of
ancient Gaul, and even in the battle fields of these people. They have been found in numerous
instances with Roman relics, such as arms, brooches, lamps, coins, e., in France, Switzerland, and
Belgium; and in this country many have been discovered in excavations in London, in the streets
of some of our towns at considerable depths, in Roman camps, roads and villas, and in various
other situations (The farmers magazine 18). From my first point of the hooves being covered with
plant material or hides, it lets me go off on a tangent. When doing research on what shoes looked
like in ancient times I came across many surprising statements. For the longest time it was believed
that we just started shoeing our horses in the 19th century but through various archaeological
findings over the years, historians have been able to ascertain some

Arguments Against Propaganda In Elections
With the elections approaching, it is now time to concentrate on how we want to introduce you.
It is critical that you earn the highest amount of votes possible so that your place in the office is
secured. With in your ads, there should be strategies to influence the voters decisions, like
testimonials/ endorsements, stacking the deck, plain folks, negative or attack ads, glittering
generalities and guilt by association/coat tailing. With these strategies stated, I have decided
which one to use by evaluating the amount of information, effectiveness, and ethics so that we
can achieve the largest figure of votes and prevent your opponent from winning. This criteria
demonstrates which forms of campaign propaganda work the best. Campaign is the form of
rivalry that candidates use in the hope of winning the elections and posses a seat in office.
Propaganda is advertising used to change the point of view of either a buyer or voter. Additionally,
a plan to obtain a certain goal is a strategy. Upon the one million dollars this campaign has for
advertisement, I have determined that $100,000 should be given towards testimonials
/ endorsements, $300,000 to plain folks, and the highest amount of money, $600,000 to stacking the
deck. A great way to connect to voters is by using testimonials/endorsements, which is why I claim
$100,000 should go toward this strategy. In the 1984 election for the spot of vice president, Walter
Mondaleand Geraldine Ferraroused the names of groups on buttons to show support for... Show

A low cost prototyping approach for design analysis and flight testing of the TURAC VTOL UAV. Paper presented at the International Conference on Unmanned Aircraft Systems (ICUAS), Orlando, FL. http://dx.doi.org/10.1109/ICUAS.2014.6842354 Presented at the 2014 International Conference on Unmanned Aircraft Systems (ICAUS), this paper identifies the need for a low cost approach that is effective in building commercial based small unmanned VTOLs. The researchers discuss and analyze the TURAC, which is an easily reproduced tilt rotor VTOL. The paper details the design, manufacturing process, and platform architecture of the TURAC.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The paper also presented a design which reduces the number of actuators compared to more traditional models. Since this design configuration suggests newer development strategies, further comparison research is necessary to develop an optimal baseline configuration. Research considerations also need to include under what conditions the platform will be operating and overall objectives. Muranoka, K., Okada, N., Kubo, D. (2009, April). Quad tilt wing VTOL UAV: Aerodynamic characteristics and prototype flight test. Paper presented at AIAA Infotech Aerospace Conference, Seattle, WA.. Retrieved from https://arc aiaa org.ezproxy.libproxy.db.erau.edu/doi/pdf /10.2514/6.2009 1834 This paper was written to describe an unmanned quad tilt wing VTOL which is capable of both efficient hover and forward cruise performance. The researchers goal is to design and build a small prototype to demonstrate the operational capabilities and applications of such a design throughout all phases of flight. Extensive wind tunnel testing was conducted to determine the optimal aerodynamic characteristics needed for a quad tilt wing VTOL UAS. The results of research and testing validated the authors concept but further development is required in the areas of flight control and wind configurations. This paper supports further research into the concept of VTOL UAS because the proof of concept was validated through actual flight testing. Stable flight was achieved throughout all ... • 4. Popular Mechanics 1. What is the title of the text and what is the text about? The title of the text is Popular Mechanics, and is about a man and woman fighting over their baby right before their separation. The fight turns physical, with the man and woman each pulling on the baby, and ends when the man gives it one final hard pull. 2. What is the author s view? How do I know? The author s view is that when people fight, they can end up wanting to win for winning s sake, disregarding their negative impact on people around them, even those that they love. I deduced this from the way that the author presented the actions of the man and woman. It appears that the man may have overlooked the baby altogether had the woman not taken away the baby s picture. And then ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For example, the story starts with an ominous tone because the author chooses to describe the water as dirty, and the environment becoming dark. He shows the destruction of a beautiful thing by choosing to describe the knocking down of a flower pot during the struggle. He showed the disregard of the baby s well being by choosing to describe the baby like an object while the man and woman are fighting over it. 4. Is the evidence valid? How do I know? The evidence presented by the author is valid if it feels realistic. For the evidence to feel realistic, I have to be able to empathize with the characters during their struggles, and be able to picture the described events happening in the real world. In this case, Carver does a good job painting a realistic environment and allowing the characters to behave realistically, such that their brutal actions are believable. 5. Is the evidence relevant? How do I know? There may have been events described that were not directly relevant to the author s view, but since overall the story paints a convincing picture of the author s view, there must have been enough relevant evidence ... • 5. The Importance Of Internet Censorship In China We have all been on our usual search engine and clicked on the random news articles. Whether it be Kim Kardashian s holiday or the controversy between Donald Trump and the Russian president. We are free to roam the internet here in Australia without the thought of someone stalking our searches. However, some countries strictly limit the information the public is exposed to. Specifically, China s internetrelies on censoring content to protect the public from cybercrimes and preventing the leakage of information about the country. But is censorshipin China implemented to do harm to its society, or purely to protect it? What is the extent of China s internet censorshipthat is actually necessary for societal protection? What is censorship in China? Censorship is a way to control the information the public in China is able to see. Web chats, search engines and social media platforms are the main aspects censored on the Chinese internet. Controversial and belittling content are sought out by human and technical censors to be removed. The Great Firewall is the main technical way the Chinese government is able to censor various aspects of the internet and was initiated by China s Ministry of Public Security. Social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter and YouTube are censored as one can search up, for example, how to overthrow the government, as stated by Jason Q. Ing, a researcher who delves deep into the Chinese internet to understand the mysteries behind censorship . A ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Consumers are aware of what they desire, dislike, and for the most part make their choices accordingly. For those that cannot decide as easily, there are many choices of different brands of the same product sold by different companies. When a corporation puts their label or name on the product, it is called branding (Klein 778). That is the way of consumerism and a way to make a product more tantalizing, is to think of extraordinary marketing concepts. This essay will discuss corporate brands and the effect on consumers, then, the paper will examine the concept of Neuromarketing. Corporations are not forcing anyone to use their product, but they are trying to capitalize and make themselves a household name. • 14. The Destruction Of Visual Representations Of Religion What is iconoclasm? Iconoclasm can be defined: the destruction of visual representations of religion. The word is Greek for image smashing. More specifically meaning: the impulse to destroy images for political and religious purposes. This is due to the rejection of what the art piece represents. The controversy involving iconoclasm is the fear that people will worship the image represented instead of the object it represents. A reason for Iconoclasts (those who reject images) to follow iconoclasm comes from the second of the Ten Commandments, which discusses not worshipping the image of an idol rather than the idol itself [idol meaning God] (Icons and Iconoclasm, Iconoclastic Controversies, The Ten Commandments). Iconoclasm started in... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Sa im al Dahr did not like this display of devotion, so he defaced the Sphinx by destroying the nose. The United Nations sent money to restore the statues, meanwhile Taliban children were dying because of sanctions against Afghanistan, but the UN was more concerned with statues than people. Greek and Roman statues are thought to be missing their arms and heads to prevent worship of the statues rather than god. Pope Gregory the Great thought the Greek/Roman statues lost all power because you do not know what god the statues represents, and therefore cannot be worshipped (Why Extreme Islamists). The Physics Of Welding Process WELDING PROCESS Overview: It is defined as a process of joining two pieces of metals by heating the metal at high temperature which results in softening or melting of metals. There are various other ways of welding, they are as follows: With or without application of pressure. With or without the use of filling metals (Melting point is 800Вє F) There is a tremendous progress in recent times over the new methods, applications and systems for welding. HISTORY OF METAL WORKING: This processes are practiced since the humans began to found that they could shape rocks by chipping them with other rocks. The first metal which were used by early human beings was copper that is Ductile (It can be easily bend or drawn, hammered). The welding technology began 3000 years ago in Egypt (4000 B.C and USA before 2000 B.C). The Old Testaments which were recovered from the earth s crust reflects the use of Forged metals, bronze and iron metals. In between 3000 and 2000 B.C Bronze metal was developed and Iron came into existence several thousand years after the invention of copper. Philistine recovered four iron furnaces of 1300 B.C this was the same metals used in production of swords, chisels, daggers and spearheads. Egyptian began making iron tools during 900 to 850 B.C, they replaced usage of bronze in various manufacturing applications with iron after 800 B.C. • 20. Technology And The Field Of Criminal Justice Essay Do you remember when our policemen had to ride around on horses to get from place to place? Most probably have heard about it, but think to themselves all I have ever known as police cars and motorcycles . For over a century the world has been making advances with technology in all areas of life, and the field of criminal justice has not been an exception to this technological advances. These advances in technology has taken the criminal justice field a long way from riding a horse bareback to driving armored cars. These advances along with many others have almost completely changed how things are handled in all aspects of the law. Technology is the persistent application of information in the design, production and use of goods and services, and in the organization of human activities. Criminal Justice is the system of law enforcement, involving police, lawyers, courts, and corrections, used for all phases of criminal procedures and penalty. As technology is used in the organization of human activities and criminal justice deals with the criminal aspects of humans it constantly unites these two things. As technology advances, so will it is use in the field of criminal justice. These advancements are necessary to help keep up with the growing and evolving world, but it is also necessary to make sure that this type of technology does not begin to infringe on a person s individual civil liberties. • 22. Part-Whole Effect Vs Composite Effect BACKGROUND The ability of the human visual system to integrate facial features into a gestalt whole is one of the processes that seems to contribute the most to human face perception (referred to as holistic face processing; Taubert et al.; 2006). A large number of behavioral studies provide evidence that demonstrate that faces are processed holistically. Two examples that provide evidences for holistic processing are the composite effect and the part whole effect. In composite effect tasks, participants are required to decide whether two identical top halves are the same (Goffaux Rossion, 2006; Le Grand, Mondloch, Maurer, Brent, 2004; McKone, 2008). Evidences suggest this task is more difficult when the two top halves are paired with different bottom halves, indicating that perception of the identity of features in one half of a face is changed by a whole face ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The part whole effect describes the difficulty subjects have recognizing familiar faces from isolated features (Davidoff Donnelly, 1990; Donnelly Davidoff, 1999; Tanaka Farah, 1993; Tanaka Sengco, 1997). These two effects suggest that features seen in a whole face context are integrated, instead than being represented and processed independently. These observations are supported by neurophysiological data fromsingle cell studies (Freiwald, Tsao, Livingston, 2009; Tsao, Freiwald, Tootell, Livingstone, 2006) and event related potential studies (Jacques, d Arripe, Rossion, 2007), confirming the idea that faces are processed holistically (Farah, Wilson, Drain, Tanaka, 1998; McKone, Kanwisher, Duchaine, 2007). This two part project ended up costing the school $4,353,142.00, according to Lamp Incorporated Construction. Obviously, the parking lot renovations were completed for the beginning of the school year in August, because if they were not there would be no space for students to park and many people would be upset. Demand refers to the amount of the product which is desired by the purchaser at a certain price level where as the supply of the product represents the amount of quantity that is supplied in the market at a certain level of price. There are different factors on which demand is dependent. Apart from the price of the product, the demand depends upon the income, the number of consumers, preferences of the consumers and income of the consumers. The supply of the product depends upon the price of the product, future expectation of the prices and price of the factors of production (Colander 2013). Resources availability is limited in the country so there is a need to observe the demand and supply so that the resources are not exhausted. The demand and supply mechanism is analyzed before getting into a detailed discussion upon the demand and supply of human resources and iron ore resources in the Australian economy. Several newspaper articles has been collected showing the demand for the skills in the state of Queensland and the supply iron ore has dropped in respect of the increase in global supply more than the demand. We learn about the Pythagorean views on marriage and procreation from Iamblichus (BII, 211 212) who indicates that a man should take the best of care for bringing a child into the world considering both the time and the way this should happen. What is more important, however, is to relate their views on procreation to their theory of the immortality of the soul. After death the soul disappears like a dream and dwells in a spiritual heavenly world until it reappears cleansed in a new birth. (2) The soul keeps only the fragmented happy moments of each of its cycles on an earthly life and will conclude its dream in the heavenly world, which is interrupted by its visitations (reincarnations) on earth. Thus, it is evident that for the Pythagoreans and, as result, the Hippocratic tradition, abortion would be morally unacceptable, since it stops this journey of the soul the incorporeal part of the human body towards its ultimate enlightenment, i.e. its relation to the divine. After all, such cases of bloody events like abortions, were seen as possible sources of ritual impurity. He created a simple prototype of an auction site on his personal website and called it Auction Web, then let people list items for auction. He was amazed at the number of buyers and sellers that his site attracted and he soon had to set up a separate site devoted to auctions. By charging sellers for posting their auction items, and taking a small percentage of each sale, the company made money simply by supplying a place for buyers and sellers to meet. Business grew through word of mouth. A Feedback Forum was added to allow buyers and sellers a way to rate each other for honesty and reliability. Some of these qualities include courage, justice, and perseverance. However, many say these characters are meant to be portrayed as completely evil, which leaves a reader wondering as to why they display a certain level of morality. It is obvious that the characters believe that they have been wronged and are seeking justice for themselves against what they view as a tyrant of the heavens. However, when reading the text, I noticed that John Miltongave the fallen angels many humanlike qualities, making it impossible to have any wholly evil characters. Throughout the entire story, Milton illustrates the fallen angels as having both physical and mental resemblance to humans. The theatrical, grandiose, and ornate style was heavily influenced by Christianity, life, love, symbolism, allegory, and morbidity. The artist Michelangel Merisi da Caravaggio a leading artist during this period used a combination of religious scenes in everyday locales filled with rough looking common people (Kleiner 549) along with the intensity of the dramatic Baroque passion for richness in color and texture. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The role of complement amp; antibody antigen complexes Antibodies have two distinct functions: to recognise and combine with an antigen, and to activate a defence mechanism for example by activating the complement sequence (Dale et. al., 1994). This sequence involves more than thirty proteins (Mollnes amp; Harboe, 1996) and has the function of the destruction and removal of invading micro organisms and subcellular debris and to promote clearance of antigen antibody complexes (Dale et. al., 1994). These functions are achieved mainly via complement s ability to attract leukocytes (Lessof, 1993). The interaction of antibody with specific antigen results in the formation of the antibody antigen complex. This complex has several functions: for instance, to immobilise an antigen therefore preventing attack upon host cells, to block active toxic regions of particular bacteria, and to allow phagocytic attack. Memory cells Once the antigens have been destroyed the plasma cells disappear leaving a few as memory cells which enable a swift response upon second exposure to the antigen (Trounce, 1997). Memory cells are the basis of active immunisation against bacteria (Downie et. al., 1994).
