Essay On Triple Jump
From creating a performance profiling sheet for the triple jump I have found out what my two key
qualities that are strengths and three key qualities that are areas for improvement in the triple jump.
Performance profile
My two strengths are my rhythm and avoid wasting my energy; it is important that everyone has a
good rhythm when performing the triple jump this is because as the triple jump consists of 3 phases
you will need a good rhythm so you are most likely not to mess it up meaning your score will not be
cancelled. And as you have a good rhythm going you will gain momentum and power, increasing your
jump resulting in a higher score. The reason why... How I could maintain this strength is by practicing
only the 3 phases on a regular basis. From the performance profiling sheet my discrepancy value for
rhythm was 9.
My second strength was using my energy efficiently and effectively. This is important key quality to
have in triple jump because the triple jump consists of many stages and ... Show more content on

Power is one of the most important key qualities to have when performing the jump phase in triple
jump; this is because power is required for an effective long jump take off, resulting in you jumping
further giving you a high score, which other competitors may struggle to beat. To improve my power
in the triple jump I will perform exercises such as squat leaps, this is because it will develop power in
my lower body meaning that my vertical jump will be higher allowing me to get a higher score in the
triple jump. I will perform this exercise with 5 reps and 10 sets. I will also perform interval sprinting
which involves high intensity short distance sprinting for 10 15 seconds which will improve my
power, this is because it will increase power in my leg resulting in also increasing my vertical jump. I
will also do these 3 times a week with 30 seconds rest i will rinse and repeat this 5

Conflict In The Looking Glass Wars
E.E. Cummings explained It takes courage to grow up and turn out to be who you really are.
Alyss when she was young loved her home in Wonderland but had to grow up in a whole other world.
She would always think her imagination would get the best of her but that fantasy never left as she
grew and became who she really was. In The Looking Glass Wars, Frank Beddor uses conflict to
transform Alyss from a mischievous, endearing, and naive girl to a fond of, praised, and comfortable
young woman so that she can defeat Redd and take back the Heart Queendom.
In the beginning of the novel, Princess Alyss is characterized as mischievous, endearing, and naive.
Alyss loves to play pranks such as dropping jollyjellies from an open window and watching them splat
on the guards below (Beddor 11). Instead of behaving like a proper princess, she prefers getting into
trouble with her best friend, Dodge. However, her pranks are never mean spirited; Alyss just enjoys
having fun. Although Alyss is mischievous, her father finds Alyss to be a delightful creature (Beddor
19). Besides her parents, other adults who even sometimes find themselves as Alyss s targets, such as
Bibwit Harte, also, find Alyss to be endearing. They appreciate her playfulness and are charmed by
her. Since Alyss is so accustomed to people loving her, she barely questions, Where did you come
from? when a kitten randomly appears as a birthday present for her (Beddor 41). Alyss is naïve and
never suspects

Choosing A Major And An Idea Of A Career
Choosing a major and an idea of a career you want to pursue, is not an easy choice. There is a lot of
thinking that goes into deciding what you want to study and what you want to become in the future.
Most people are not positive even once they have entered college as to what it is for sure they want to
do. This MyPlan assessment was extremely informative in what my skills were and how I could use
them. Going to the Career Center on February 5 really helped me to understand what my results meant
and what I could take out of this assessment. We took four tests, a personality, personal interest, skills,
and values test. For my personality test report, there were 4 different categories looked at to come up
with a combined census of what my personality is. You were either, extroverted or introverted, sensor
or intuitive, thinker or feeler, and judger or perceiver. My results showed that I was ESTJ. Which
means that I am extroverted, sensor, thinker, and a judger. Extroverts basically respond very well to
social gatherings and like to be around people. They are usually very talkative and tend to work well
in teams. Sensors seek specific answers to specific questions. Usually they do not have a very wide
imagination and are more realistic. Thinkers believe that it is important to be right and honest with
themselves than it is to be liked. A thinker seeks fairness and tend to be tough minded. Judgers
appreciate organizations, punctuality, order, schedules, etc. Judgers tend to

Sonnet 130 and My Ugly Love Contrast and Comparison Essay
Sonnet 130 and My Ugly Love Contrast and Comparison Shakespeare s sonnet 130, My mistress eyes
are nothing like the sun and Pablo Neruda s My ugly love are popularly known to describe beauty in a
way hardly anyone would write: through the truth. It s a common fact that modern lovers and poets
speak or write of their beloved with what they and the audience would like to hear, with kind and
breathtaking words and verses. Yet, Shakespeare and Neruda, honest men as they both were, chose to
write about what love truly is, it matters most what s on the inside rather than the outside. The theme
of true beauty and love are found through Shakespeare and Neruda s uses of imagery, structure, and
tone. The imagery portrayed in both ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In like manner, the last verse in Neruda s sonnet, My love: I love you for clarity, your dark could be
interpreted to mean that the speaker loves his beloved to continue being a mystery for him in so that
he could find more beautiful qualities about her by focusing on her unattractive qualities first.
Similarly, Shakespeare s last couplet, And yet, by heaven, I think my love as rare as any she belied
with false compare display s the speaker s love for what is real rather than how his beloved ought to
be. In brief, the imagery plays a huge part within both sonnets because it can give readers insight as to
how the speakers think. Shakespeare and Neruda s poem are obviously known to be sonnets, however
they don t both share the same structure; Shakespeare s is of course a Shakespearean sonnet
containing fourteen lines and has a particular rhyme scheme (ababcdcdefefgg), but Neruda s sonnet
doesn t follow Shakespeare s or the traditional Italian sonnet. Rather, Neruda s sonnet does indeed
contain fourteen lines, but most follows the free verse sonnet structure, since there is no rhyme
scheme. Yet, likewise, both sonnets do present a problem in the first verses and then develop towards a
solution. In the following, on Neruda s lines, My ugly...My beauty...Ugly:...Beauty:.. the speaker starts
acknowledging his beloved that he is proud she is his for him to say my , but as the

Titration Lab Report
As mentioned previously the purpose was to use the titration method in order to find molarity, to find
pH. The hypothesis is that very little amount of of HCI is needed to neutralize NaCl. This would need
to be tested through this lab, and will be confirmed through the different series of trials. Throughout
this we also checked our results and see our accuracy through the scientific process. First in the
procedures of this experiment, is we had to neutralize the unknown substance. We had a beaker filled
with 50 mL of sodium hydroxide (NaOH) and buret full with 20 mL of hydrochloride (HCl), Figures
2.3 and 2.4. After this we should pour by drop through the buret until the substance turned a faint pink,
Figure 1.2 and 2.2. This will happen because the indicator added to the beaker. If the color becomes a
dark pink the substance has become over saturated, Figures 1.1 and 1.2. For our results, which you can
see in the table, it only took a few drops of HCI, more precisely 0.2 mL for the mixture to neutralize,
Figure 2.2. Although both of our trials were relatively similar, Jaime ... Show more content on

The first part of calculations was finding molarity, which has formula is, molarity equals moles
divided by liters. We already were given the number of moles for HCl. Our results goes as follows:
first trial is the molarity for HCl is 10, second is 9.9, third is 9.8, and fourth is 9.8. Then we proceeded
to the second part of the calculations. The second part is where we figure out the molarity of NaOH,
using the formula of MaVa=MbVb. Ma is the molarity of the acid solution, Va is the volume of the
acid solution, Mb is the molarity of the basic solution (This is the unknown variable in which we will
solve for.), and Vb the volume of the basic solution. After this we plugged in all of our information to
the variables and solved for Mb. For trial one and three we got 0.1, for trial two they got 0.3, and for
trial four they got

Autistic Children in Mainstream Schools
The current prevalence rates of Autism Spectrum Disorders range from 0.5 to 6.7 per 1,000 among
children ages 3 through 10 years (Shtayermman 88). With this dramatic change in the frequency of
autism comes the development of special education schools and, in turn, a rise in the presence of
autistic children in a general classroom setting. While many think that a child with Autism Spectrum
Disorder, or ASD, in attendance at a regular school would be beneficial to the child in question, there
are instances where it would be unwise to place them in such an environment. Considering the
characteristics of children with ASD, the victimization they go through in a regular classroom, and the
lack of knowledge amongst teachers, the experiences ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Since they have difficulty in understanding the rules of conversation when they are speaking, there is
an inability to link phrases together, sometimes repeating words or expressions out of context. Along
with communication with others, children with ASD find it difficult to understand group interactions.
This is often the reason why many of them are without friends; there is a preference of remaining
aloof in the mind of a child with autism. The quality of life for a child with autism in mainstream
schools is definitely at odds with how the school itself is structured. Due to changes in educational
policies over the last decade, there are increasing numbers of children with ASD that are being
educated in a regular classroom setting. Many may deem this inclusion as being positive for those
students, but there are faults that accompany these types of circumstances, the reason being that many
schools do not have the capacity to keep pace with such changes in order to include children with
ASD. Many teachers find it tough to merge the academic talents of students with autism with their
often severe difficulties in interacting with others socially. Those who have been diagnosed with ASD
have a preference for routine, consistency and low sensory stimulation, making tough seeing that they
would be expected to deal with the noisy, busy and chaotic environment of mainstream schools
(Humphrey, Symes 80).

Crooks, Curley s Wife, And Lennie
Crooks, Curley s wife, and Lennie in Of Mice and Men can be an irritation to most people at the
ranch. They try their hardest to achieve their goals, but as a result of the direction that they chose and
who they are to other people, it is hard for them. There are too many setbacks and obstacles during
this time that it made it hard for them to live. Crooks, Curley s wife, and Lennie feel like they are an
obstacle for other people and to themselves. These three people get called names. They are or want to
be alone, and they can never follow the dreams that they set for themselves.
Crooks is called names by reasons of his race. He is treated horrendously by people of the opposite
race. He wants to be alone and does not want to bother anyone on the ranch. He never gets invited to
any activities on the ranch. In this time during the Great Depression, money was hard to get and work
was hard to find. People of the color white ruled out African Americans due to thinking that they were
different. Crooks wants to leave the ranch and live far away like how George and Lennie want to do. A

The Dubious Hamlet Research Paper
The Dubious Hamlet
As one of the most critically acclaimed plays in history, Hamlet happens to be a main source of debate
along with one of the best stories of revenge. William Shakespeare wrote Hamlet during the early
1600 s setting the play in Denmark during the late medieval time. While boasting an advanced plot
and ambiguous themes, Shakespeare perfectly portrays well developed characters in his play. These
characters will continue to be studied for decades further; one of those characters would be Hamlet.
Hamlet is not only the protagonist, but also the main focal point for the majority of the themes in the
book. In the play, he learns the cause of his father s premature death, and sweeps to revenge. However,
Hamlet struggles with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When it comes to the ones Hamlet genuinely loves, very few characters spring to mind, of them being
Gertrude and Horatio. Hamlet displays his obedience to his mother and care to his friend in the book. I
shall in all my best obey you, madam, (Shakespeare Act 2 Scene 1: 120) says Hamlet as he graciously
agrees to his beloved mother. Unfortunately, issues arise when his mother spends little to no time
grieving over her dead husband and quickly marries her brother in law. No matter how furious Hamlet
gets with his mother, he never thinks about harming her. With his mother, even in his moment of
greatest revulsion at her actions, he limits himself to speaking daggers to her even though he is
sufficiently overwrought to use them (Aichinger). Hamlet possesses every right to be upset with his
mother, but the genuine love he feels for his mother proves stronger than his anger. Thus supporting
the fact Hamlet does not lack a conscience or morals. Clearly, Hamlet exhibits a deeper reasoning than
any other character in the play: Throughout the play, he displays gentility and a moral sense superior
to that of any other person. His treatment of Horatio and the players is democratic and humane
(Aichinger). The form of conscience and reasoning that readers observe occurs in the cordial
colloquies between Hamlet and Horatio. Horatio happens to be Hamlet s best friend in the play, and
Hamlet values his friend Horatio as much as his mother. Hamlet s conversations with Horatio differ
from any other character in the book because a passionate and reverent side of Hamlet appears. But
we must remark how Hamlet speaks of Horatio; he does so in words of passionate admiration. His
election has sealed Horatio for himself because in suffering all, Horatio suffered nothing; and it is the

Analysis of Goodwill Impairments and
Their Effects on Financial Statements
The impairment only accounting model for goodwill was initially brought to the table in 2004, to
replace the previous amortization based model. Over the years, research supported the idea that
impairment charges improved the fundamental economic attributes of goodwill than systematic
amortization charges. Research also revealed that such annual changes had minor information value to
users. According to KPMG (2014), this was the key reason why the US Financial Accounting
Standards Board (FASB) replaced straight line amortization of goodwill with this model that was
based exclusively on impairment testing (p. 4). The FASB argued that this approach provides ... Show

After the value is determined, if the goodwill s fair value is less than the carrying value, the goodwill
is considered impaired and must be charged off. Essentially, the charge off reduces the value of
goodwill to market value, reflecting a mark to market charge.
Essentially, goodwill is the value of an asset that is considered intangible but has a quantifiable
prudent value in a business (Boundless, 2014). An example of goodwill could be the reputation a firm
has with its client. It is important to remember that although goodwill is technically an intangible
asset, it typically is listed separately on a business balance sheet.
Goodwill impairments under SFAS 142, has been the subject of many controversies. Opponents worry
that specific aspects of the standard are complicated and require judgment (Boundless, 2014).
Therefore, a goodwill impairment charge has the ability to increase the uncertainty of the analysts
forecasting. Goodwill is recorded at the time of a business combination by an acquiring entity, and is
defined as the excess of the consideration transferred plus te fair value of any non controlling interest
in the acquire at the acquisition date over the fair values of the identifiable net assets acquired (FASB,
2007). Prior to the SFAS 141 and SFAS 142, APB Opinion No.17 regulated accounting for goodwill

Essay on A Discourse of Remours for the Amorous
The great playwright Christopher Marlowe also wrote one of the most famous lyrical poems in British
literature, The Passionate Shepherd to His Love. In this pastoral portrait, Marlowe reveals the
shepherd s desire for a certain young lady to be his love. In The Nymph s Reply to the Shepherd, Sir
Walter Raleigh voices the young lady s answer to this invitation. The two poems share the identical
structures of rhyme scheme and meter. Also, the speakers share a similar desire for youthful love.
However, these similarities are overshadowed by the differences in the author s backgrounds which, in
turn, influence the starkly different characteristics of the speakers of the poems their view of reality
and their motive for love.

The few similarities in these two poems, however, are far overshadowed by the differences that exist.
When analyzing these differences, it is helpful to first examine the contrasts in the lives of the authors.
Christopher Marlowe was born into a lower class family, but his education enabled him to work for a
theatre company in London. From there, he became a dramatist, a poet, and a playwright for the rest
of his short life. Marlowe was known for the interesting company that he kept. On the night of his
death, he was with three friends a moneylender, a con artist, and a spy for the Queen s secret service.
The four of them were eating and got into an argument which ended with Marlowe being stabbed and
killed. Sir Walter Raleigh lived a quite different lifestyle. He was an explorer who led an exhibition to
the fabled City of Gold. He also founded several colonies and named the territory of Virginia. This
was done in honor of the virgin queen , Elizabeth I. This was no surprise because Raleigh was a
favored suitor of the Queen. She gave Raleigh the honorary title Sir and lavished him with money and
land. However, the Queen discovered that Raleigh was, in fact, not interested in her, but was instead
interested in a lady named Bess Thockmorton. Because of this, the Queen promptly had Raleigh
imprisoned in the Tower of London for thirteen years. His great

Oedipus vs. Hamlet as Tragic Heroes
Oedipus from the drama, Oedipus the King and Hamlet from, Hamlet, Prince of Denmark are two
characters that are different, yet they both share the same title of being a tragic hero. Oedipus and
Hamlet have many characteristics of a tragic hero that separates them in varieties. However, some of
those characteristics show that both characters have and use similar thought processes and methods,
which classify them as tragic heroes of their dramas. The five characteristics of a tragic hero are:
nobility, tragic flaw, peripeteia, anagnorisis, and lastly irony. Both Oedipus and Hamlet hold or have a

Oedipus s tragic flaw is gained once he obtained his greatness and became king. Oedipus s knowledge

so he went on a menacing quest for answers. Oedipus stated a message that reveled his flaw, Then

is Oedipus wanted to avoid his fate, but instead his own tragic flaw walked him into it. Even after
Oedipus learned of the truth from the prophecy, his mind continued to deny what was the actual truth.
The prophet spoke these words to Oedipus, I say that you, with your eyes, are blind / you can not see
the wretchedness of your life (Sophocles 196 197). He still ventured on to find the alternative to his
fate and he only became worse. Soon Oedipus s pride corrupted his intelligence increasing his flaw.

The Death Of A Shoemaker And The Tea Party By Alfred F....
The American Revolution, today, is seen as a memorable event in history. It was a war against Britain
for the independence of the thirteen colonies that began in 1775. Before the American Revolution
began, there was a lot of conflict between the colonists and British authorities. The British raised
revenue by establishing Acts such as the Stamp Act of 1766. The colonists were against it and tried
revolting against Britain, leading to the Boston Massacre in 1770 of British soldiers shoot colonists
and killing a few men. The colonists also retaliated against the taxations by dressing up as Indians and
throwing tea into the ocean. Parliament began establishing acts known as the intolerable acts, which
led to the revolution. In The Shoemaker and the Tea Party by Alfred F. Young, the author introduces
and describes the life of a shoemaker, George Robert Twelves Hewes, and the events he was a part of
leading up to and after the American Revolution. He shows the different meanings of the Revolution
to people according to their perspective and view on society. The Excerpt from Accounts of George
Robert Twelves Hewes as Told to James Hawkes by James Hawkes is a secondary source of what

Family And Consumer Sciences Education Essay
Family and Consumer Sciences Education has tremendously evolved since its beginning roots with
Ellen Swallow Richards. FCS has obtained a new role within public schools and the community, far
different than it was before. What was previously seen as the classes for women is now a requirement
for high school graduation plans. The positive societal views of Family and Consumer Sciences is
increasing the development as well as furthering the program. The following analyzes and examines
the Family and Consumer Sciences curriculum that is currently being implemented in Texas public
schools. The role of Family and Consumer Sciences in public school is reflected through multiple
social trends and influences. One of the most dominant and interdependent trends is digital
technology. The world of technology has immensely transformed over the past ten years. These
modifications have revolutionized the way a teacher educates as well as the way a student learns.
Sewing machines, for instance, have been significantly modified. Machines now have a mind of their
own as they can individually function off of the press of a button. This technological advancement
will play a role in how a teacher, who was once taught on a basic machine, instructs. Digital
technology s role in FCS can be clearly depicted through any course of study. As digital technology
continues to evolve, so will the Family and Consumer Sciences courses and the methods of teaching/
learning. FCS also engages in the role

Department 19 Villains
Essay English
Through the study of the three texts; Department 19 by Will Hill, Macbeth the play and The Social
Network by David Fincher, it is evident that literary villains are archetypes that often represent the
evil side of human nature. One may argue that each villain has certain traits that allow the reader to be
drawn to the terror and horror of their deeds yet also allow readers to reflect upon the society that has
created such individuals. Authors stray their villains from the stereotype to keep the modern audience
engaged.
Often the physical appearance can define the villain, as it can be the most appealing and revealing area
of any individual at first glance. In Department 19, Will Hill uses the characteristics of ... Show more

Alexandru s villainy is almost entirely reliant on his behaviour. Marie squeezed her eyes shut as
Anderson let out a scream, a high pitched howl..He was smiling at her... something red flew away into
the shadow Hill uses horror imagery, to depict the intimidating personality of Alexandru, he willingly
tears out the tongue of his servant, without dismay. Alexandru is well educated this can be seen in his
manner when speaking; We haven t been introduced, it said, favouring her with a dazzling smile of
sharp white teeth. My name is Alexandru Rusmanov and you, of course, are Marie Carpenter by
creating a polished superficial exterior it often allows for the deception to be hidden and creates
dramatic irony as the audience knows Hill has portrayed him with duality traits.
As demonstrated in these texts there are different ways that villains can be represented. In the post
modern age often the role of villain is not as clear cut and the morality and ethical outcomes of the
characters actions are represented as ambiguous. In a text such as The Social Network by David
Fincher many relationships inverse and promises are broken. Finch almost leaves it for the audience to
decide on the true villain. Authors use deception and machiavellianism to successfully integrate the
villain into the theme and provide additional dimensions. In the Social Network, Mark

The Four Noble Truths And The Noble Eightfold Path
The core principals of Buddhism can be found in The Four Noble Truths and The Noble Eightfold
Path. The Four Noble Truths are the truths about life. The first one is that in order to live, you re going
to suffer. Mind and body can inevitably become sick and lead to stress in life. Second noble truth is
that suffering stems from a cause; desire. They go hand in hand in an inverse relationship. If someone
desires to be private, they re constantly going to be worried about when they re not alone. This is so
prevalent that the pleasure they get from being alone is not worth the struggle of privacy. The third
noble truth is tied in by saying to end the suffering; a person must end all desires. Lastly, the fourth
noble truth describes the best ways to end suffering is to follow the eightfold path. To find inner peace,
someone must follow the eightfold path. In order to achieve this you must do all of these correctly:

But the more I think about it, the less shocked I am. The monks apart of the violence have motives
that are much more past religious belief. It s most likely a means of corruption to control the area
spiritually, and then in turn, politically. They could also be radical and suppressive because they are
doing whatever they can to prove that Buddhism is the master religion. A similar, but not as radical
example can be seen with senator Ted Cruz and other political figures. While they are very openly
Christian (another religion that is not too keen on the idea of violence) and support religious freedom,
when it comes to religions other than their own, their views change. This can be seen with supporting
armed protests outside mosques, or be open to carpet bombs in Syria. Both of these things are far from
the true religion, but the person is still seen as openly religious. When corruption occurs, people can
put selfish interests above what they were spiritually and morally taught to

Digital Immigrants And Digital Technology
Technology is advancing and becoming complex in our society, as it propels our daily lives. In
learning environments such as schools, most students are able to acknowledge the learning differences
between themselves and their teachers. These differences occur because a student is more likely to be
a digital native, whereas the teacher is considered to group with digital immigrants. Digital
immigrants are those who are able to understand the relevance of technology, but choose to utilize it
differently. However, digital natives are those who are born in a generation in which technology is at
easy access. Since a digital native s mind is introduced to technology in an earlier stage in life, it
functions differently than a digital immigrant ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Digital immigrants, those who are born in the era of writing letters and finding research from literal
texts find it difficult to adapt to technology (Small, 2001, p. 4) On the other hand; the digital natives
born with technology have incorporated it in their daily routines. Vicky Rideout s study of the amount
of time kids this generation spend on technology shows that children and teenagers ages 8 to 18 are
accustomed to technology that that they on average spend twice as much time with screens each year
(Richtel, 2014, p. 4). The increased amount of time using technology is able to impact the brains
learning manner because it strengthens and tests their mind s ability to perform activities. New York
Times mentions the two surveys done by the Pew Internet Project, and Common Sense Media in San
Francisco. In the Common Sense report, for instance, some teachers said that even though the
attention span of digital natives may not be as great as digital immigrants but the constant use of
technology at home and in class test their brain development and allow them to improve in in subjects
like math and science (Richtel, 2014, p. 21). Including technology in digital natives everyday routine
helps test the brain skills of students. This is also proven true as the University of Vanderbilt
introduces more technology into the classroom, faculty are finding it raises the quality of class
discussion and involves students focus and are more skilled in their educational

Hamlet Grief In Hamlet

Evolution of Hamlet s Emotional Suffering
Since the tense conclusion of the 2016 presidential election, many people have felt a tremendous
amount grief surrounding the results. For much of America, this grief has completely changed the way
people live their lives. According to an article by the LA Times [source needed], 35% of the workforce
today feels more stressed at work due to politics. Following the election, countless people began
creating scapegoats to blame for their loss. In some extreme circumstances, the results triggered
depression and almost a political sickness for some people. Furthermore, they directed their rage at the
world and then began to focus that anger on people such as their neighbors, co workers, and
politicians. This atmosphere of taking sides has created an exceptional rift in the fabric of American
society. However, very few have voiced opinions about how their current situation could have been a
result of their prior actions, and many people are still pointing fingers rather than directing their
passion towards finding a constructive solution to their problems. Similarly, in Shakespeare s play
Hamlet, the protagonist experiences a process of condemnation following his father s death. Between
his first and second soliloquy, Hamlet s method of coping with grief transitions from projecting his
animosity outwards at those around him to then directing it inwards with intense self loathing,

Dark They Were And Golden Eyed Essay
Why do the words that authors use in their writing help set the overall atmosphere of the story? In the
story, What Do Fish Have to Do With Anything, a young boy named Willie and his cautious mother,
who were abandoned by their father, come across a beggar, and Willie grows curious of his character,
thus leading him to question him. After a series of encounters, Willie learns that the homeless man was
not what he seemed, but a man of wisdom. In the story, Dark They Were, And Golden Eyed by Ray
Bradbury, a party of humans arrive in Mars and try to build their new lives there after an apocalypse
on the Earth. One of the humans, Harry Bittering, is skeptical about Mars and how living there may
not be the best idea. In both Dark They Were, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example, after a family has arrived on an unfamiliar environment through a rocket, n the text, it
states, The wind blew, whining. At any moment the Martian air might draw his soul from him, as
marrow comes from a white bone. This means that a party of humans had reached some environment
that was unfamiliar because in the text we learn that the humans had emerged from a rocket that came
from Earth and that they were currently in a Martian setting. Further into the text, when the family is
told that they cannot return to their home, it states, For a long time there was only the sound of the
wind in the late afternoon. Alone, thought Bittering. Only a thousand of us here. No way back. No
way. No way. This text means that the humans who had approached Mars as their new home would be
forever lost there, and this is because in the text we learn that atom bombs hit New York, causing all
the space rockets to explode. This text also means that the silence that was roaming the family was
due to the fact that they were speechless because in the text we learn how that their old and favored
home was gone. This is important because it shows how the author chose to mention that the wind was
whining, how the martian air was threatening, and only the sound of the wind because he wanted to
lay out the mood of foreboding for the readers. Many of the decisions that the author made involving
the mood were to include several minor details that add to the reader s feelings and signal some

China, Japan, and the U.S. in the 20th Century
China, Japan, and the U.S. in the 20th Century
During the later half of the 20th century, China and Japan underwent both economic and non
economic reforms that were aided by the influence of the United States. In China, the death of Mao
led to the rise of the dark horse candidate Hua Guo Fang, a transitional figure who denounced the
Gang of Four. Though only in power for a few years, his last act was to revive Deng Xiaoping s
political office, a man that would do more for China in the next 20 years than the last century
combined. In Japan, the loss of the war to the Allies has resulted in the occupation of Japan by U.S.
soldier. The post World War II occupation greatly affected the economic and political structure of later

This caused a shift towards a fast growing consumer society. Slowly the Chinese began to be able to
buy more consumer goods due to their increased revenue. However, the dawn of the 80 s made Deng
question the growth of China. A fear for two much freedom and inflation made Deng re polarize and
backtrack, slowly limiting spending. This form of rising expectations met by failed expectations from
the young and growing consumer market ultimately led to the fatal incident of 1989. The change and
freedom in laws gave the younger generation a feeling of empowerment and euphoria. High
expectations grew out of this booming mixed economy. However, signs of corruption and inequality
led for friction in the ranks of Chinese society. A call for increased standards of living for educated
citizens caused uproar countrywide. Their protest that came to a bloody end is what we know as the
Tianan Men Square Massacres.
The Allied occupation ended on April 28, 1952, when the terms of the Treaty of San Francisco went
into effect. By the terms of the treaty, Japan regained its sovereignty, but lost many of its possessions
from before World War II, including Korea and Taiwan. However, relations with the United States was
better than ever as proven by the wing of protection that was offered out by the United States through

X Rays Vs. Fingerprint Analysis
Two scientific methods that could be used to identify me after I have been abducted and killed by a
terrorist group would be x rays and fingerprint comparisons. Since the death and discovery has only
been within the last 6 hours, the postmortem factors would not be a concern. Wild animals would not
necessarily have enough time to start eating important evidence such as fingers for the fingerprint
comparisons. The body would have started to set into rigor mortis but would not have decomped to
the point of not being able to identify. The x ray would show the plate and screws in the elbow that
would match medical records. If the body was not discovered until some time later, the plate and
screws would be visible at the scene from where the body had decomposed. Fingerprints would be

The Law, Justice, And Stability
Society would be in turmoil if we didn t have laws. We would live in a barbaric world without rights,
justice, and stability. People would have many diverse viewpoints and would never be able to sustain
relationships with one another. So the question is: what is the purpose of the law, what is it s main
objective and why is it uniquely capable of achieving unknown answers? The most deceptive motive
is because we do in fact have protection, justice, stability and relationships in our society. The reason
we have those things is the implementation of the law. Our society as a majority wants those values
implemented in their daily lives. Our society is so large will never have one unified view on various
subjects, so our system has been made that we are persuaded into the viewpoints of a majority.
Additionally, the main objective of the law is to be a binding set of rules that persuade society into a
majority view, in order to maintain a secure community. Our system of regulations in the United
States serves the purpose of embodying the majoritarian perspective of society. Law is implemented
because there needs to be a way to govern these various perspectives. Society needs guidelines to be
able to survive, be organized, and not be chaotic. Moreover, according to the Constitution, we the
people are the sovereign people of this system. That means people in society are actively living, and
participating with the laws everyday. Not to mention, there are professionals whom society

on a legendary German pilot who fought and died in World War 1. This pilot was known as Manfred
von Richthofen. I believe that this film was nicely put together, the plot kept its viewers engaged and
wanting to see what would happen next. In this essay I will be giving a brief explanation on the film
and why it is or is not accurate and whether the producer did it on purpose or by mistake. At the
beginning of the movie which takes place in 1906, Manfred is still a child. As a kid Manfred is out
hunting with his younger brother Lothar von Richthofen and younger cousin, Wolfram Freiherr von
Richthofen. Suddenly the sound of an airplane flying nearby flies over them. Amazed, Manfred jumps
on his horse and follows the airplane with his arms spread out as though they were the wings of a
plane themselves. This foreshadows him becoming a pilot in the future. After this scene the movies
jumps ten years into the future which happens to be during World War 1. After the ten years have
passed Manfred is a Lieutenant and is serving as a fighter pilot for the Imperial German Air Service.
Lieutenant Richthofen is shown flying along the Western front where they drop a wreath over the
funeral of an Allied pilot. On his way back home with his friends and fellow pilots Werner Voss,

Social Responsibility Issues In The 1930 s
One reason that there is so much government regulation involving social responsibility issues, is due
to the public putting pressure on them to do something about all the bad social conditions occurring to
people back in the 1930 s. The government involvement prior to that was centered more on the
American business. People had to endure poor working conditions and low wages, without much hope
of things improving. There were no advocates for the working class. The change did not come until
pressure was put on the government to do something. The turning point came when Franklin D.
Roosevelt became president, and started to change the way a business was allowed to operate. Once

The most notable of the technological innovations are the powered armor suits which are used by the
Mobile Infantry. Rico refers to them as turning the average man into the size of a gorilla. These
exoskeletons are a complete self contained personal environment that augments every ability a man
has. Strength, speed, weight carrying capacity, jumping ability with jets and rocket boosts, night
vision, radar, radios, a HUD (heads up display) controlled by mouth movements and improved hearing
turned the average soldier into a super human. These suits were incredibly expensive and took
hundreds of man hours to check over to ensure they are battle ready, which was done before every
drop. Space travel was a normal occurrence in universe that this novel holds. Women were mainly
ship pilots as they had higher calculation skills than men to handle the quick deploys and maneuvers
through the battlefield and space. These ships use a special space travel technology called Cherenkov
Drive which allows them to travel thousands of light years in just a few hours. All military drop ships
contain drop containers which the Mobile Infantry uses to deploy themselves to a battlefield. They are
a small capsule just big enough to fit a soldier and their exoskeleton that drops straight out of a ship at
a high atmospheric level. As the capsule heats up from the speed and height it is released from, it
breaks into pieces eventually leaving the soldier in freefall at the right height to make a safe landing.
The military also makes use of special humans that, in a simplest explanation, have super powers.
Once dropped onto a battlefield, these individuals can sense and map out a whole underground city
and its tunnels of Bugs in just a few moments using their hearing. It can t be done during the middle of
a battle due to intense concentration they need, so they are used during

Existentialism in Literature and Science
Existentialism is the philosophical approach or theory that emphasizes an individual s existence as a
free and responsible being determining his own development through acts of the will ( Existentialism
). What does that mean exactly? To make it easier to understand, that means humans as people are
shaping their own destinies with every choice they make. That seems quite obvious, but to further
understand the meaning of existentialism, it must be analyzed through the impacts it has had on both
literature and scientific theories alike. The literary movement of existentialism is seen heavily in Franz
Kafka s The Metamorphosis and Albert Camus The Stranger. In The Metamorphosis, the movement of
his existentialism is gradual. Gregor Samsa, the protagonist, hates his job and he wishes to be free of
all his social suffering. This is seen when he is transformed into a monstrous vermin (Kafka 3). His
transformation symbolizes him being free of the social afflictions but his human like qualities also
fade away and his meaning of life is taken away as well. Gregor now hardly ate anything anymore.
Only when he accidentally passed the food laid out for him would he take a bite into his mouth just for
fun, hold it in for hours, and then mostly spit it out again (45). After his family abandons him and he is
ready to die, there really isn t a meaning to life by that time. The Metamorphosis emphasizes that one
must interact with society in order for there to be a meaning to

It s all in the display. When an item, such as a watch or a scarf, is displayed in a glass case, it implies

Even high fashion stores aren t above using the dumping method to display gloves, leather goods,

item, it s easier to sell an additional item. Thus, apparel retailers strategically place impulse buys like
hair bows and costume jewelry by the cashier the same way supermarket checkouts display candy and
magazines. 7. What are the characteristics of effective point of purchase displays? Marketing materials
or advertising placed next to the merchandise it is promoting. These items are generally located at the
checkout area or other location where the purchase decision is made. Well done point of purchase
(POP) displays will draw consumers to one product over another, or give one store the appearance of
being more organized and clean. For example, the checkout counters of many convenience stores are
cluttered with cigarette and candy POP displays.

How Managers Understand And Manage The Work Family Balance...
The aim of this study is to investigate how managers understand and manage the work family balance
practices (WFBPs) and how undertaking these new practices impact their dual level position (i.e.
organisation and individual level) in the organisation. To achieve this aim, this study will first explore
the work family relationship that has been broadly and conceptually defined by previous scholars and
different conceptual definitions were taken into account. The term used in this study is Work Family
Balance Practices (WFBPs) that will be used to refer to the human resource practices and policies
establish by organizations. Namely, these available practices are able to implement amongst workers
in the workplace. Although the work life and family life are different, yet they are interconnected
(Clark, 2000). Thus, this study views various perspectives when conceptualizing the work, family and
work family balance following on from the earlier discussion.
This chapter is divided into seven sections. It starts with the definition of term Work Family Balance
Practices (WFBPs). It then looks at how this term has been alternated and used in different ways. After
this brief introduction, the second section will briefly discuss the origin of work and family from a
conceptual background of the work family area related. The third section will continue to discuss the
understanding of terms of work and family from the conceptual background of work and family area.

Pricing Models Of Marketing Campaigns
The membership economy is growing and with it comes a shift in revenue generation and consumer
demands. Adapting to these changes isn t optional. It s a requirement for all companies seeking to stay
in business.
From software to healthcare, multiple industries are adjusting from standard one time purchases to
recurring pricing models. Customers would rather subscribe to on demand Internet streaming
providers, instead of purchasing a DVD.
As new competitors emerge, this model will influence consumer expectations and market behaviors.
Brands will engage customers through marketing campaigns, leading to long term relationships.
So, how will these changes affect you? Let s discuss how your company can thrive with a recurring
pricing model. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Then, create a strategy to monetize these relationships.
Make your customers lives better, and they will be less reluctant to make the shift from owner of
products to subscriber of services.
Why Recurring Pricing Makes Sense
Companies adopt the recurring pricing model to create strategic business opportunities. A study by
Ventana Research shows that the primary business drivers for using such a model are increasing the
top line, enhancing the customer experience, and increasing customer loyalty.
Source
Generating a steady cash flow reassures executives and keeps investors profitable. Recurring pricing
gives companies a clear outlook on next month s income; no more relying on revenue estimations.
Moreover, businesses can plan for growth. A stable revenue source means you don t have to secure
one off contracts just to make payroll. Time and energy can be directed toward expansion, like hiring
new employees.
However, in the membership economy, companies must continually offer value to their consumers to
succeed. How do customers when with this model?
Recurring pricing offers reliability to consumers. In developed countries, most people expect running
water to be available 24/7. It s a given. This mindset is expanding to Internet access. We expect every
grocery store, coffee shop, and hotel chain to offer Wi Fi.

Classroom Reflection Analysis
For the final part of the project, me and the other students, plus the teachers and aides met in the
classroom on Monday morning to reflect on the project. During the final round table teachers
expressed some concern with communication. I think they felt like it was difficult to communicate
with us students since they did not have any contact information from us. A great suggestion was
made during the meeting to make a google document that would include all of our contact information
as well as updates and information about the all the children who the teachers were concerned about. I
feel like this would be beneficial for both the students and the teachers in order to contact each other
more easily and to get updates on the children efficiently. During the course of the semester, I felt like
the students and the teachers were not on the same page due to the issues of contacting each other. For
instance, when me and partner would get to the preschool we sometimes would be unable to fully
observe or coach during our time due to other activities happening in the classroom. For example, one
time me and my partner came and an employee from the public library was there for her weekly
reading activity. I felt a little surprised by this novel situation, but my partner and I would try and
adjust our plan to make it feasible to the new situation. Another issue the teachers had was
determining what time works best for us students to come in and observe or coach. Our teacher Jihan
did not limit us too much on our times, except when they were on field trips. Other teachers noted that
they had specific times for students to come in, and they felt overwhelmed by the amount of students.
They described the situations to be somewhat difficult to discuss the children they were concerned
about or how the strategies were working for them. Hearing the teachers talk about when would be the
best time for students to come in reminded me that they have a lot to take into consideration when
planning. For instance, they need to take into account which and how many children will be in their
classroom since some arrive late and some leave early. They need to take into account how much help
they will need to prepare or clean up an

Archetypes Of Dark In Ray Bradbury s Fahrenheit 451
Take a look at any timeless movie like the Star Wars, Harry Potter, or Marvel superhero series. In each
of these movies, a villain dressed in long black robes, with a corruptive smirk and mind uses their
malicious powers to battle relentlessly with the force of the hero, the strongest and at times, the most
kind hearted character in the film. In these films, Luke fights Vader, Harry battles Voldemort, and
Spider Man combats against his villains. In the end, the hero is praised for bringing peace by restoring
their community from the depths of darkness. Even in these classic movies, the archetype of light vs.
dark is incorporated through it s heroic and villainous characters. Similarly, Ray Bradbury
incorporates this archetype into his ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
By giving Montag the inspiration and understanding to use his mind to think for his own, Montag is
able to become more powerful due to his intellect. He is now seen as a character who doesn t get
brainwashed by the government and has his individual thought, allowing him to escape from this
controlled society. Also, when Clarisse rubs the bright yellow dandelion on her chin, she s yellow
under there (19), proving that she s in love (19). Unlike the other characters in the novel, Clarisse has
emotions such as love, satisfaction, and happiness. The dandelion rubbing color on her illustrates how
she is able to express these emotions and is an overall ray of light towards others. Clarisse uses the
dandelion to prove to Montag that he lacks these qualities of lovingness and happiness in his life,
which ignites his self revelation. She is a symbol of light since she is aware of her surroundings by
being able to think and has a bright personality, as seen through the dandelions. Clarisse is able to use
her curiosity to help others see the world through their own eyes, not what the government or parlor
walls want them to. On the other hand, Mildred is contrasted to be the character that is lost in the dark
side for her lack of thought to escape. To further implement Mildred s character, Bradbury describes
her room as if it was like coming into the cold marble room of a mausoleum ... complete darkness, not
a hint of the silver world

Crisis In Sorrow
In a small urban apartment in the heart of Manhattan dwelt a small, respectable family that consisted
of a laboring father, a devout mother, and an adoring son. All of them hustling and bustling in the
business of life. The father, Conner Walton, a relatively older man with small patches of well worn
grey hair around his leathery lips and ears, worked at an enormous storage house; full of musty boxes
of trinkets and tools to supply to the locals. The mother was ambitious and fiery. Older, like her
beloved husband, Kim Walton took it easier in her age. She stayed in the house and cleaned, took care
of their child, and apartment alike. The son, Jeffrey Walton, a bright young boy with lots of potential,

They read on, attempting to understand this long, wordy paragraph. What they were able to extract
was that the American stocks were falling hard, money was being lost, and banks were closing. Many
months had passed now, and the crisis was beginning to show its ugly face worse than ever. No one
had any money and they all resorted to the barter system in order to provide their family. After the
second year conditions in Manhattan were unbearable; the streets stank of rotten food and feces,
diseases and death were creeping throughout the city, and people were starving and lying on the
sidewalks begging for any scrap they could get. People were rushing down the streets into Downtown
Manhattan were the banks were, starting riots and throwing rocks in attempt to retrieve their money. It
was of no use, so the Walton family, along with Bartholomew Mats, abandoned their urban dwelling
and fled to the countryside into southern Pennsylvania. There the economic drought took less effect
because the majority of the population had means of growing their own food and making their own
clothes. They wandered around this area for days searching for a home or just a place to slave for
some food. Then they meet a kind, generous man named Gordon

Saturated Fat And Unsaturated Fats
1. A transverse plane is any horizontal plane that divides the body into superior and inferior sections.
To give an ultrasound on a woman carrying a child, the child is being carried in the front of the
abdomen. The correct plane used is the frontal plane. The frontal plane divides the body into ventral
and dorsal sections. 2. Negative feedback is a feedback that causes a stimulus to end. The stimulus in
this case is the itch. When you sense the itch, your body reacts to scratching it. When you scratch the
itch, the itch is revealed, therefore ending the stimulus and making scratching an itch negative
feedback. 3. Although both fats are in many foods, most unsaturated fats are more beneficial to your
heart, whereas many saturated fats can cause damage to your cholesterol and your heart. Some
examples of saturated fats are meats, dairy and pastries. Saturated fats contain hydrogen atoms and
have fatty acid chains with single covalent bonds between carbon atoms. At room temperature,
saturated fats are solid. Unsaturated fats are nuts, olives, and avocados. Unsaturated fats have fatty
acid chains that contain one or more double bonds between carbon atoms. At room temperature,
unsaturated fats are liquid. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Judaism As A Monotheistic Religion
Judaism is known to be a monotheistic religion, that is historic religion of Jewish people, which is said
to be one of the oldest religions that fall under the monotheistic religion that believes in God, and that
God is an all knowing, all powerful God that created the world as well as everything that is in it
(Voorst,2013). Judaism foundation started in the original covenant made between Abraham and God,
circa 1900 BCE, when Abraham was called to leave his home in Ur and travel to Cannan, which was
later known as Palestine and Israel, the land which God promised to give to his descendants
(Swartz,2005). Years later, there was a second covenant with Moses, who led the Jews out of slavery
in Egypt, exodus back to the lands of Canaan. At Mt Horeb also known as Sinai, is where God gave
the Jewish people the Ten Commandants as was as other rules to live by which are found in the Torah,
as well as the first five books of the Bible, marking the beginning of Judaism as a structured religion
(Swartz,2005).
While Judaism is, the oldest religions that fall under the monotheistic religion that believes in God,
who not only created the universe but with whom every Jew can have an individual and personal
relationship (Britannica, 2017). The most important teaching of Judaism is that there is one God, the
creator of heaven and earth, who wants people to do what is just and merciful (Magid,2017) They
believe that God continues to work in the world, affecting everything that includes

What Does Social Justice Mean To You Essay
When I was six years old I accepted Christ. I grew up in a Christian home and was given a Christian
education. My faith has been a big part of my life. It has gotten me through the good, the bad and the
ugly. There have been dry seasons in my faith, but even in those times God has remained faithful.
Each day God is teaching me something new about who He is. He is continually growing me to be
more like Him. It is my faith that pushes me to fight for justice. One of my favorite passages in the
Bible is Psalm 82:2 4, How long will you judge unjustly and show partiality to the wicked? Give
justice to the weak and the fatherless; maintain the right of the afflicted and the destitute. Rescue the
weak and the needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked. The Gospel is the life, death and
resurrection of Christ. Social justice is in no way the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He is the one who ultimately brings justice and hope. I am only a helper who is called to obedience.
My life is not my own, but it is God s to do with as He pleases. The work I would do at IJM would not
be of my own doing, but of Christ in me. He is the ultimate healer and world changer. Since working
in this field takes a lot of faith and trust in God, spiritual disciplines are very important. Over the
years, this is something that God has been growing me in. He has shown me the importance of truly
studying His word and writing it on my heart. When I study His Word, I tend to do it book by book. I
will read a certain book multiple times before moving on to the next book. Each time, Jesus seems to
point out something new. Prayer is also another area where I have grown. I tend to pray all throughout
the day. I like being in constant communication with God. I have learned that prayer is important
when combatting human trafficking. There are situations in which prayer seems to be the only option.
I believe everything should be done with

Summary Of C. S. Lewis The Screwtape Letters
Do you ever tire of reading stories were the good guys always win? If so, The Screwtape Letters is the
book to read. C.S. Lewis portrays his good guy as a demon named Screwtape who has a young
apprentice named Wormwood. In the story, Wormwood has the task of tempting The Patient and
making sure that he goes to Hell. Throughout the book, Screwtape tries to advise Wormwood on how
to tempt successfully. All is going well for Wormwood until The Patient becomes a Christian and turns
his life over to the Enemy . Screwtape initially tells Wormwood that all will be okay and explains to
him that it can be a simple fix. Unfortunately for Wormwood, things do not turn out to be so simple
and ultimately Wormwood fails to ensure The Patient s eternal damnation. The punishment for the
apprentice was to become Screwtape s dinner. Although one can be distracted by the intriguing
plotline, there are many things that can be found throughout the story. To name some extracurricular
items that can be found: Anthropology, bibliology, Christology, theology, and soteriology. ... Show

Anthropology can be simply defined as the study of human beings. How does the study of human
beings play into The Screwtape Letters? Throughout the Screwtape Letters there is a great deal of
craftiness on the part of Wormwood and Screwtape. Much of this craftiness is geared toward their
assumptions of human nature. Screwtape believes that by exploiting the weaknesses of humans they
can lead anyone to Hell. This turns out to be quite true in most cases. The only struggle that Screwtape
faces is the Enemy . The Enemy empowers The Patient to resist the temptations laid before him by
Screwtape and Wormwood. Though The Patient does resist the temptations presented to him he is not
perfect. The Patient does mess up but then is forgiven by the Enemy and returns even stronger. As it is
seen, anthropology is a key factor in the story of The

The 1906 San Francisco Earthquake Of 1906
The 1906 San Francisco Earthquake
Geologic Aspect
On April 18, 1906 at 5:12 a.m. an earthquake of an estimated moment magnitude of 7.8 hit
Northern California. High intensity shaking was felt stretching from Salinas Valley to Eureka on the
North Coast. The San Francisco earthquake of 1906 was one of the worst and most fatal earthquakes
in both California s and the United States history.
California, and thus San Francisco, lies on the San Andres fault. The earthquake was caused when this
fault suddenly shifted, with the rupture spreading for a total of 476 kilometres in northward and
southward direction. This fault is a continental transform fault, which forms part of the tectonic
boundary between the North American Plate and the Pacific Plate. (1906 Earthquake: How long was
the 1906 Crack? USGS Earthquake Hazards Program Northern California, Accessed September 3,
2006). 1 The distance of the fault is of about 1300 kilometres, which runs the length of California
from Cape Mendocino in the north to the Salton Sea in the south. Geologists have estimated that the
fault moved as quickly as 2.74 kilometres per second. The San Andreas Fault, the source of this
disaster, lies ten miles or deeper, at the meeting point of two tectonic plates, the Pacific and the North
American. The right lateral strike slip fault is characterized by mainly lateral motion in a dextral sense,
where the western plate (Pacific plate) moves northward relative to the eastern plate (North American

  • 2. Essay On Triple Jump From creating a performance profiling sheet for the triple jump I have found out what my two key qualities that are strengths and three key qualities that are areas for improvement in the triple jump. Performance profile My two strengths are my rhythm and avoid wasting my energy; it is important that everyone has a good rhythm when performing the triple jump this is because as the triple jump consists of 3 phases you will need a good rhythm so you are most likely not to mess it up meaning your score will not be cancelled. And as you have a good rhythm going you will gain momentum and power, increasing your jump resulting in a higher score. The reason why... How I could maintain this strength is by practicing only the 3 phases on a regular basis. From the performance profiling sheet my discrepancy value for rhythm was 9. My second strength was using my energy efficiently and effectively. This is important key quality to have in triple jump because the triple jump consists of many stages and ... Power is one of the most important key qualities to have when performing the jump phase in triple jump; this is because power is required for an effective long jump take off, resulting in you jumping further giving you a high score, which other competitors may struggle to beat. To improve my power in the triple jump I will perform exercises such as squat leaps, this is because it will develop power in my lower body meaning that my vertical jump will be higher allowing me to get a higher score in the triple jump. I will perform this exercise with 5 reps and 10 sets. I will also perform interval sprinting which involves high intensity short distance sprinting for 10 15 seconds which will improve my power, this is because it will increase power in my leg resulting in also increasing my vertical jump. • 3. Conflict In The Looking Glass Wars E.E. Cummings explained It takes courage to grow up and turn out to be who you really are. Alyss when she was young loved her home in Wonderland but had to grow up in a whole other world. She would always think her imagination would get the best of her but that fantasy never left as she grew and became who she really was. In The Looking Glass Wars, Frank Beddor uses conflict to transform Alyss from a mischievous, endearing, and naive girl to a fond of, praised, and comfortable young woman so that she can defeat Redd and take back the Heart Queendom. In the beginning of the novel, Princess Alyss is characterized as mischievous, endearing, and naive. Alyss loves to play pranks such as dropping jollyjellies from an open window and watching them splat on the guards below (Beddor 11). Instead of behaving like a proper princess, she prefers getting into trouble with her best friend, Dodge. However, her pranks are never mean spirited; Alyss just enjoys having fun. Although Alyss is mischievous, her father finds Alyss to be a delightful creature (Beddor 19). Besides her parents, other adults who even sometimes find themselves as Alyss s targets, such as Bibwit Harte, also, find Alyss to be endearing. They appreciate her playfulness and are charmed by her. Since Alyss is so accustomed to people loving her, she barely questions, Where did you come from? when a kitten randomly appears as a birthday present for her (Beddor 41). Alyss is naïve and never suspects ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. Choosing A Major And An Idea Of A Career Choosing a major and an idea of a career you want to pursue, is not an easy choice. There is a lot of thinking that goes into deciding what you want to study and what you want to become in the future. Most people are not positive even once they have entered college as to what it is for sure they want to do. This MyPlan assessment was extremely informative in what my skills were and how I could use them. Going to the Career Center on February 5 really helped me to understand what my results meant and what I could take out of this assessment. We took four tests, a personality, personal interest, skills, and values test. For my personality test report, there were 4 different categories looked at to come up with a combined census of what my personality is. You were either, extroverted or introverted, sensor or intuitive, thinker or feeler, and judger or perceiver. My results showed that I was ESTJ. Which means that I am extroverted, sensor, thinker, and a judger. Extroverts basically respond very well to social gatherings and like to be around people. They are usually very talkative and tend to work well in teams. Sensors seek specific answers to specific questions. Usually they do not have a very wide imagination and are more realistic. Thinkers believe that it is important to be right and honest with themselves than it is to be liked. A thinker seeks fairness and tend to be tough minded. Judgers appreciate organizations, punctuality, order, schedules, etc. Judgers tend to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Sonnet 130 and My Ugly Love Contrast and Comparison Essay Sonnet 130 and My Ugly Love Contrast and Comparison Shakespeare s sonnet 130, My mistress eyes are nothing like the sun and Pablo Neruda s My ugly love are popularly known to describe beauty in a way hardly anyone would write: through the truth. It s a common fact that modern lovers and poets speak or write of their beloved with what they and the audience would like to hear, with kind and breathtaking words and verses. Yet, Shakespeare and Neruda, honest men as they both were, chose to write about what love truly is, it matters most what s on the inside rather than the outside. The theme of true beauty and love are found through Shakespeare and Neruda s uses of imagery, structure, and tone. The imagery portrayed in both ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In like manner, the last verse in Neruda s sonnet, My love: I love you for clarity, your dark could be interpreted to mean that the speaker loves his beloved to continue being a mystery for him in so that he could find more beautiful qualities about her by focusing on her unattractive qualities first. Similarly, Shakespeare s last couplet, And yet, by heaven, I think my love as rare as any she belied with false compare display s the speaker s love for what is real rather than how his beloved ought to be. In brief, the imagery plays a huge part within both sonnets because it can give readers insight as to how the speakers think. Shakespeare and Neruda s poem are obviously known to be sonnets, however they don t both share the same structure; Shakespeare s is of course a Shakespearean sonnet containing fourteen lines and has a particular rhyme scheme (ababcdcdefefgg), but Neruda s sonnet doesn t follow Shakespeare s or the traditional Italian sonnet. Rather, Neruda s sonnet does indeed contain fourteen lines, but most follows the free verse sonnet structure, since there is no rhyme scheme. Yet, likewise, both sonnets do present a problem in the first verses and then develop towards a solution. In the following, on Neruda s lines, My ugly...My beauty...Ugly:...Beauty:.. the speaker starts acknowledging his beloved that he is proud she is his for him to say my , but as the ... The hypothesis is that very little amount of of HCI is needed to neutralize NaCl. This would need to be tested through this lab, and will be confirmed through the different series of trials. Throughout this we also checked our results and see our accuracy through the scientific process. First in the procedures of this experiment, is we had to neutralize the unknown substance. We had a beaker filled with 50 mL of sodium hydroxide (NaOH) and buret full with 20 mL of hydrochloride (HCl), Figures 2.3 and 2.4. After this we should pour by drop through the buret until the substance turned a faint pink, Figure 1.2 and 2.2. This will happen because the indicator added to the beaker. If the color becomes a dark pink the substance has become over saturated, Figures 1.1 and 1.2. For our results, which you can see in the table, it only took a few drops of HCI, more precisely 0.2 mL for the mixture to neutralize, Figure 2.2. Although both of our trials were relatively similar, Jaime ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The first part of calculations was finding molarity, which has formula is, molarity equals moles divided by liters. We already were given the number of moles for HCl. Our results goes as follows: first trial is the molarity for HCl is 10, second is 9.9, third is 9.8, and fourth is 9.8. Then we proceeded to the second part of the calculations. The second part is where we figure out the molarity of NaOH, using the formula of MaVa=MbVb. Ma is the molarity of the acid solution, Va is the volume of the acid solution, Mb is the molarity of the basic solution (This is the unknown variable in which we will solve for.), and Vb the volume of the basic solution. • 8. Autistic Children in Mainstream Schools The current prevalence rates of Autism Spectrum Disorders range from 0.5 to 6.7 per 1,000 among children ages 3 through 10 years (Shtayermman 88). With this dramatic change in the frequency of autism comes the development of special education schools and, in turn, a rise in the presence of autistic children in a general classroom setting. While many think that a child with Autism Spectrum Disorder, or ASD, in attendance at a regular school would be beneficial to the child in question, there are instances where it would be unwise to place them in such an environment. Considering the characteristics of children with ASD, the victimization they go through in a regular classroom, and the lack of knowledge amongst teachers, the experiences ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Since they have difficulty in understanding the rules of conversation when they are speaking, there is an inability to link phrases together, sometimes repeating words or expressions out of context. Along with communication with others, children with ASD find it difficult to understand group interactions. This is often the reason why many of them are without friends; there is a preference of remaining aloof in the mind of a child with autism. The quality of life for a child with autism in mainstream schools is definitely at odds with how the school itself is structured. Due to changes in educational policies over the last decade, there are increasing numbers of children with ASD that are being educated in a regular classroom setting. Many may deem this inclusion as being positive for those students, but there are faults that accompany these types of circumstances, the reason being that many schools do not have the capacity to keep pace with such changes in order to include children with ASD. Many teachers find it tough to merge the academic talents of students with autism with their often severe difficulties in interacting with others socially. Those who have been diagnosed with ASD have a preference for routine, consistency and low sensory stimulation, making tough seeing that they would be expected to deal with the noisy, busy and chaotic environment of mainstream schools (Humphrey, Symes 80). ... The Dubious Hamlet Research Paper The Dubious Hamlet As one of the most critically acclaimed plays in history, Hamlet happens to be a main source of debate along with one of the best stories of revenge. William Shakespeare wrote Hamlet during the early 1600 s setting the play in Denmark during the late medieval time. While boasting an advanced plot and ambiguous themes, Shakespeare perfectly portrays well developed characters in his play. These characters will continue to be studied for decades further; one of those characters would be Hamlet. However, Hamlet struggles with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When it comes to the ones Hamlet genuinely loves, very few characters spring to mind, of them being Gertrude and Horatio. Hamlet displays his obedience to his mother and care to his friend in the book. I shall in all my best obey you, madam, (Shakespeare Act 2 Scene 1: 120) says Hamlet as he graciously agrees to his beloved mother. Unfortunately, issues arise when his mother spends little to no time grieving over her dead husband and quickly marries her brother in law. No matter how furious Hamlet gets with his mother, he never thinks about harming her. With his mother, even in his moment of greatest revulsion at her actions, he limits himself to speaking daggers to her even though he is sufficiently overwrought to use them (Aichinger). Hamlet possesses every right to be upset with his mother, but the genuine love he feels for his mother proves stronger than his anger. Thus supporting the fact Hamlet does not lack a conscience or morals. Clearly, Hamlet exhibits a deeper reasoning than any other character in the play: Throughout the play, he displays gentility and a moral sense superior to that of any other person. His treatment of Horatio and the players is democratic and humane (Aichinger). The form of conscience and reasoning that readers observe occurs in the cordial colloquies between Hamlet and Horatio. Horatio happens to be Hamlet s best friend in the play, and Hamlet values his friend Horatio as much as his mother. Hamlet s conversations with Horatio differ from any other character in the book because a passionate and reverent side of Hamlet appears. But we must remark how Hamlet speaks of Horatio; he does so in words of passionate admiration. His election has sealed Horatio for himself because in suffering all, Horatio suffered nothing; and it is the man ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Analysis of Goodwill Impairments and Their Effects on Financial Statements The impairment only accounting model for goodwill was initially brought to the table in 2004, to replace the previous amortization based model. Over the years, research supported the idea that impairment charges improved the fundamental economic attributes of goodwill than systematic amortization charges. Research also revealed that such annual changes had minor information value to users. According to KPMG (2014), this was the key reason why the US Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) replaced straight line amortization of goodwill with this model that was based exclusively on impairment testing (p. 4). The FASB argued that this approach provides ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... After the value is determined, if the goodwill s fair value is less than the carrying value, the goodwill is considered impaired and must be charged off. Essentially, the charge off reduces the value of goodwill to market value, reflecting a mark to market charge. Essentially, goodwill is the value of an asset that is considered intangible but has a quantifiable prudent value in a business (Boundless, 2014). An example of goodwill could be the reputation a firm has with its client. It is important to remember that although goodwill is technically an intangible asset, it typically is listed separately on a business balance sheet. Goodwill impairments under SFAS 142, has been the subject of many controversies. Opponents worry that specific aspects of the standard are complicated and require judgment (Boundless, 2014). Therefore, a goodwill impairment charge has the ability to increase the uncertainty of the analysts forecasting. Goodwill is recorded at the time of a business combination by an acquiring entity, and is defined as the excess of the consideration transferred plus te fair value of any non controlling interest in the acquire at the acquisition date over the fair values of the identifiable net assets acquired (FASB, 2007). Essay on A Discourse of Remours for the Amorous The great playwright Christopher Marlowe also wrote one of the most famous lyrical poems in British literature, The Passionate Shepherd to His Love. In this pastoral portrait, Marlowe reveals the shepherd s desire for a certain young lady to be his love. In The Nymph s Reply to the Shepherd, Sir Walter Raleigh voices the young lady s answer to this invitation. The two poems share the identical structures of rhyme scheme and meter. When analyzing these differences, it is helpful to first examine the contrasts in the lives of the authors. Christopher Marlowe was born into a lower class family, but his education enabled him to work for a theatre company in London. From there, he became a dramatist, a poet, and a playwright for the rest of his short life. Marlowe was known for the interesting company that he kept. On the night of his death, he was with three friends a moneylender, a con artist, and a spy for the Queen s secret service. The four of them were eating and got into an argument which ended with Marlowe being stabbed and killed. Sir Walter Raleigh lived a quite different lifestyle. He was an explorer who led an exhibition to the fabled City of Gold. He also founded several colonies and named the territory of Virginia. This was done in honor of the virgin queen , Elizabeth I. This was no surprise because Raleigh was a favored suitor of the Queen. She gave Raleigh the honorary title Sir and lavished him with money and land. The prophet spoke these words to Oedipus, I say that you, with your eyes, are blind / you can not see the wretchedness of your life (Sophocles 196 197). He still ventured on to find the alternative to his fate and he only became worse. Soon Oedipus s pride corrupted his intelligence increasing his flaw. • 18. The Essentials Of A Good Education By Diane Ravitch The Essentials of a Good Education by Diane Ravitch is about the argument on the importance of mathematics and literature. One side argues that students can be successful in life with test proficient in only mathematics and literature; while, the other side claims that mathematics and literature are important, but are not enough for one to find what they are good at. While both sides have a point, I am going to analyze the both sides of the argument. I agree with Ravitch s side of the argument. While both mathematics and literature are important, I believe that it is crucial to branch out from those so that we can all find our own passion. • 19. The Death Of A Shoemaker And The Tea Party By Alfred F.... The American Revolution, today, is seen as a memorable event in history. It was a war against Britain for the independence of the thirteen colonies that began in 1775. Before the American Revolution began, there was a lot of conflict between the colonists and British authorities. The British raised revenue by establishing Acts such as the Stamp Act of 1766. The colonists were against it and tried revolting against Britain, leading to the Boston Massacre in 1770 of British soldiers shoot colonists and killing a few men. The colonists also retaliated against the taxations by dressing up as Indians and throwing tea into the ocean. Parliament began establishing acts known as the intolerable acts, which led to the revolution. In The Shoemaker and the Tea Party by Alfred F. Young, the author introduces and describes the life of a shoemaker, George Robert Twelves Hewes, and the events he was a part of leading up to and after the American Revolution. He shows the different meanings of the Revolution to people according to their perspective and view on society. The Excerpt from Accounts of George Robert Twelves Hewes as Told to James Hawkes by James Hawkes is a secondary source of what Hewes has told Hawkes about his memories of the Boston Massacre. Michael D. Hattem, however, gives a more contemporary view on the American Revolution in his article, The Historiography of the American Revolution. FCS has obtained a new role within public schools and the community, far different than it was before. What was previously seen as the classes for women is now a requirement for high school graduation plans. The positive societal views of Family and Consumer Sciences is increasing the development as well as furthering the program. The following analyzes and examines the Family and Consumer Sciences curriculum that is currently being implemented in Texas public schools. The role of Family and Consumer Sciences in public school is reflected through multiple social trends and influences. One of the most dominant and interdependent trends is digital technology. The world of technology has immensely transformed over the past ten years. These modifications have revolutionized the way a teacher educates as well as the way a student learns. Sewing machines, for instance, have been significantly modified. Machines now have a mind of their own as they can individually function off of the press of a button. This technological advancement will play a role in how a teacher, who was once taught on a basic machine, instructs. Digital technology s role in FCS can be clearly depicted through any course of study. As digital technology continues to evolve, so will the Family and Consumer Sciences courses and the methods of teaching/ learning. FCS also engages in the role ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 21. Department 19 Villains Essay English Through the study of the three texts; Department 19 by Will Hill, Macbeth the play and The Social Network by David Fincher, it is evident that literary villains are archetypes that often represent the evil side of human nature. One may argue that each villain has certain traits that allow the reader to be drawn to the terror and horror of their deeds yet also allow readers to reflect upon the society that has created such individuals. Authors stray their villains from the stereotype to keep the modern audience engaged. Often the physical appearance can define the villain, as it can be the most appealing and revealing area of any individual at first glance. In Department 19, Will Hill uses the characteristics of ... As demonstrated in these texts there are different ways that villains can be represented. In the post modern age often the role of villain is not as clear cut and the morality and ethical outcomes of the characters actions are represented as ambiguous. In a text such as The Social Network by David Fincher many relationships inverse and promises are broken. Finch almost leaves it for the audience to decide on the true villain. • 22. The Four Noble Truths And The Noble Eightfold Path The core principals of Buddhism can be found in The Four Noble Truths and The Noble Eightfold Path. The Four Noble Truths are the truths about life. The first one is that in order to live, you re going to suffer. Mind and body can inevitably become sick and lead to stress in life. Second noble truth is that suffering stems from a cause; desire. They go hand in hand in an inverse relationship. If someone desires to be private, they re constantly going to be worried about when they re not alone. This is so prevalent that the pleasure they get from being alone is not worth the struggle of privacy. The third noble truth is tied in by saying to end the suffering; a person must end all desires. Lastly, the fourth noble truth describes the best ways to end suffering is to follow the eightfold path. To find inner peace, someone must follow the eightfold path. A similar, but not as radical example can be seen with senator Ted Cruz and other political figures. For much of America, this grief has completely changed the way people live their lives. According to an article by the LA Times [source needed], 35% of the workforce today feels more stressed at work due to politics. Following the election, countless people began creating scapegoats to blame for their loss. In some extreme circumstances, the results triggered depression and almost a political sickness for some people. Furthermore, they directed their rage at the world and then began to focus that anger on people such as their neighbors, co workers, and politicians. This atmosphere of taking sides has created an exceptional rift in the fabric of American society. However, very few have voiced opinions about how their current situation could have been a result of their prior actions, and many people are still pointing fingers rather than directing their passion towards finding a constructive solution to their problems. Similarly, in Shakespeare s play Hamlet, the protagonist experiences a process of condemnation following his father s death. At any moment the Martian air might draw his soul from him, as marrow comes from a white bone. This means that a party of humans had reached some environment that was unfamiliar because in the text we learn that the humans had emerged from a rocket that came from Earth and that they were currently in a Martian setting. Further into the text, when the family is told that they cannot return to their home, it states, For a long time there was only the sound of the wind in the late afternoon. Alone, thought Bittering. Only a thousand of us here. No way back. No way. No way. This text means that the humans who had approached Mars as their new home would be forever lost there, and this is because in the text we learn that atom bombs hit New York, causing all the space rockets to explode. This text also means that the silence that was roaming the family was due to the fact that they were speechless because in the text we learn how that their old and favored home was gone. This is important because it shows how the author chose to mention that the wind was whining, how the martian air was threatening, and only the sound of the wind because he wanted to lay out the mood of foreboding for the readers. Many of the decisions that the author made involving the mood were to include several minor details that add to the reader s feelings and signal some upcoming events in the ... • 37. Social Responsibility Issues In The 1930 s One reason that there is so much government regulation involving social responsibility issues, is due to the public putting pressure on them to do something about all the bad social conditions occurring to people back in the 1930 s. The government involvement prior to that was centered more on the American business. People had to endure poor working conditions and low wages, without much hope of things improving. There were no advocates for the working class. The change did not come until pressure was put on the government to do something. The turning point came when Franklin D. Roosevelt became president, and started to change the way a business was allowed to operate. Once the government became involved, the conditions, wages, and fair ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 38. Starship Troopers Chapter Summary Chris Ahmed Starship Troopers The story is set in a galactic battle between the Terran Federation and the Bugs of Klendathu. This first person narrative is about Juan Johnnie Rico who joins the Mobile Infantry straight out of school, despite his parents wishes to attend Havard and take over the family business. He starts out as a recruit, with an original intent of joining up with a close friend, working through the ranks with much ambition, eventually obtaining the status of non commissioned officer and then on to a successful officer commanding his own platoon. Rico s military career takes place mainly with the platoon he starts with, Rasczak s Roughnecks, on the corvette Rodger Young. Rico meets a lot of individuals along his journey, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The most notable of the technological innovations are the powered armor suits which are used by the Mobile Infantry. Rico refers to them as turning the average man into the size of a gorilla. These exoskeletons are a complete self contained personal environment that augments every ability a man has. Strength, speed, weight carrying capacity, jumping ability with jets and rocket boosts, night vision, radar, radios, a HUD (heads up display) controlled by mouth movements and improved hearing turned the average soldier into a super human. These suits were incredibly expensive and took hundreds of man hours to check over to ensure they are battle ready, which was done before every drop. Space travel was a normal occurrence in universe that this novel holds. Women were mainly ship pilots as they had higher calculation skills than men to handle the quick deploys and maneuvers through the battlefield and space. These ships use a special space travel technology called Cherenkov Drive which allows them to travel thousands of light years in just a few hours. All military drop ships contain drop containers which the Mobile Infantry uses to deploy themselves to a battlefield. They are a small capsule just big enough to fit a soldier and their exoskeleton that drops straight out of a ship at a high atmospheric level. As the capsule heats up from the speed and height it is released from, it breaks into pieces eventually leaving the soldier in freefall at the right height to make a safe landing. The military also makes use of special humans that, in a simplest explanation, have super powers. Once dropped onto a battlefield, these individuals can sense and map out a whole underground city and its tunnels of Bugs in just a few moments using their hearing. • 39. Existentialism in Literature and Science Existentialism is the philosophical approach or theory that emphasizes an individual s existence as a free and responsible being determining his own development through acts of the will ( Existentialism ). What does that mean exactly? To make it easier to understand, that means humans as people are shaping their own destinies with every choice they make. That seems quite obvious, but to further understand the meaning of existentialism, it must be analyzed through the impacts it has had on both literature and scientific theories alike. The literary movement of existentialism is seen heavily in Franz Kafka s The Metamorphosis and Albert Camus The Stranger. In The Metamorphosis, the movement of his existentialism is gradual. Gregor Samsa, the protagonist, hates his job and he wishes to be free of all his social suffering. This is seen when he is transformed into a monstrous vermin (Kafka 3). His transformation symbolizes him being free of the social afflictions but his human like qualities also fade away and his meaning of life is taken away as well. Gregor now hardly ate anything anymore. Only when he accidentally passed the food laid out for him would he take a bite into his mouth just for fun, hold it in for hours, and then mostly spit it out again (45). After his family abandons him and he is ready to die, there really isn t a meaning to life by that time. The Metamorphosis emphasizes that one must interact with society in order for there to be a meaning to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 41. How Managers Understand And Manage The Work Family Balance... The aim of this study is to investigate how managers understand and manage the work family balance practices (WFBPs) and how undertaking these new practices impact their dual level position (i.e. organisation and individual level) in the organisation. To achieve this aim, this study will first explore the work family relationship that has been broadly and conceptually defined by previous scholars and different conceptual definitions were taken into account. The term used in this study is Work Family Balance Practices (WFBPs) that will be used to refer to the human resource practices and policies establish by organizations. Namely, these available practices are able to implement amongst workers in the workplace. Although the work life and family life are different, yet they are interconnected (Clark, 2000). It s a requirement for all companies seeking to stay in business. From software to healthcare, multiple industries are adjusting from standard one time purchases to recurring pricing models. Customers would rather subscribe to on demand Internet streaming providers, instead of purchasing a DVD. As new competitors emerge, this model will influence consumer expectations and market behaviors. Brands will engage customers through marketing campaigns, leading to long term relationships. So, how will these changes affect you? Let s discuss how your company can thrive with a recurring pricing model. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Then, create a strategy to monetize these relationships. Make your customers lives better, and they will be less reluctant to make the shift from owner of products to subscriber of services. Why Recurring Pricing Makes Sense Companies adopt the recurring pricing model to create strategic business opportunities. A study by Ventana Research shows that the primary business drivers for using such a model are increasing the top line, enhancing the customer experience, and increasing customer loyalty. Source Generating a steady cash flow reassures executives and keeps investors profitable. Recurring pricing gives companies a clear outlook on next month s income; no more relying on revenue estimations. Moreover, businesses can plan for growth. A stable revenue source means you don t have to secure one off contracts just to make payroll. Time and energy can be directed toward expansion, like hiring new employees. However, in the membership economy, companies must continually offer value to their consumers to succeed. How do customers when with this model? Recurring pricing offers reliability to consumers. In developed countries, most people expect running water to be available 24/7. It s a given. This mindset is expanding to Internet access. We expect every grocery store, coffee shop, and hotel chain to offer Wi Fi.

During the final round table teachers expressed some concern with communication. I think they felt like it was difficult to communicate with us students since they did not have any contact information from us. A great suggestion was made during the meeting to make a google document that would include all of our contact information as well as updates and information about the all the children who the teachers were concerned about. I feel like this would be beneficial for both the students and the teachers in order to contact each other more easily and to get updates on the children efficiently. During the course of the semester, I felt like the students and the teachers were not on the same page due to the issues of contacting each other. For instance, when me and partner would get to the preschool we sometimes would be unable to fully observe or coach during our time due to other activities happening in the classroom. For example, one time me and my partner came and an employee from the public library was there for her weekly reading activity. I felt a little surprised by this novel situation, but my partner and I would try and adjust our plan to make it feasible to the new situation. Another issue the teachers had was determining what time works best for us students to come in and observe or coach. Our teacher Jihan did not limit us too much on our times, except when they were on field trips. Other teachers noted that they had specific times for students to come in, and they felt overwhelmed by the amount of students. They described the situations to be somewhat difficult to discuss the children they were concerned about or how the strategies were working for them. Hearing the teachers talk about when would be the best time for students to come in reminded me that they have a lot to take into consideration when planning. For instance, they need to take into account which and how many children will be in their classroom since some arrive late and some leave early. They need to take into account how much help they will need to prepare or clean up an ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The 1906 San Francisco Earthquake Of 1906 The 1906 San Francisco Earthquake Geologic Aspect On April 18, 1906 at 5:12 a.m. an earthquake of an estimated moment magnitude of 7.8 hit Northern California. High intensity shaking was felt stretching from Salinas Valley to Eureka on the North Coast. The San Francisco earthquake of 1906 was one of the worst and most fatal earthquakes in both California s and the United States history. California, and thus San Francisco, lies on the San Andres fault. The earthquake was caused when this fault suddenly shifted, with the rupture spreading for a total of 476 kilometres in northward and southward direction. This fault is a continental transform fault, which forms part of the tectonic boundary between the North American Plate and the Pacific Plate. (1906 Earthquake: How long was the 1906 Crack?
