The Success Of A Brand New Group
From job interviews to making friends in a brand new group, communication is the forerunner
in determining the success of every connection between two or more people. I ve never taken
any classes focusing on public speaking or other types of communication before, yet my
strengths and weaknesses within it determine the outcome of my daily and professional
experiences. In both casual and professional conversations I am usually very shy I m afraid of
what others involved will think of what I say. To combat this, I ve developed a nasty sense of
false confidence. I feign an almost aggressive, standoffish attitude to assert myself, pushing people
away or making them feel uneasy. I ve been doing this for as long as I can remember; it came from

Primarily, I would like to develop ethical communication skills. I admit, I have trouble with
empathy and understanding how others feel. I ve gotten much better in terms of considering
others viewpoints, but I still struggle to take opposing sides seriously or consider their
arguments. I tend to focus on hard facts, forgoing emotion entirely. Because of this, I would like
to increase my personal perspective skills as well as my situational perspective skills (Hunt,
Simmons, Simonds, 2013). Since empathy doesn t necessarily come naturally to me, I have to
practice empathetic behavior in my daily life. I work on putting myself in others shoes, considering
their personal perspectives and why they might feel the way they do. I listen first and foremost by
reducing my interruptions and seriously considering what others say. I use body language to my
advantage. For example, if someone else is speaking, I usually try to engage in very subtle
submissive body language while responding nonverbally. If I agree with what they re saying, I nod.
Humans are highly emotional creatures, and as such, little gestures such as eye contact or nodding
matter in communicating empathetically. If I am more empathetic, then other perspectives that I
may not understand will not be so jarring, they will be a learning experience. In persuasive or debate
situations, this will assist me in creating a counterargument and

Francisco Pizarro: Spanish explorer who discovered and conquered the Inca Empire, nowadays

nowadays central Mexico.
Pizarro and CortГ©s were two great men in the history of the world, men who made an impact in

discoverers that, like them, have contributed to the advances in the world made by the human race.

heroes, they are the real discoverers, the real conquerors. They are the kind of people that enter
our lives and stay there forever. I ve met one. In his idiosyncrasy he discovered and conquered
places in me I didn t know existed.
His physical characteristics, mannerism, and personality captivated me. He is tall, Caucasian.
His brown eyes match the color of his hair, and his white skin makes his hair looks darker. His
breath is fresh and tempting; his lips tantalizing. His jaw bone is like the one of an angel and
everything in him is beautiful. His long neck is always well perfumed, and every time you get

His long, strong legs are like the ones of a sports man as well as his feet. His gentlemanly

The Rime of Ancient Mariner Samuel Taylor Coleridge (1772 1834) is a lyrical poet, critic, and
philosopher. The poem The Rime of Ancient Mariner was first published as a lyrical ballad in
the year 1798. The poem recounts sailor who came back from long sea voyage. The poem is

Children Are At Home Learning Languages Essay
In different regions around the world, young children are at home learning languages that differ
from the prevailing language used in their extensive social world. When they arrive at school, these
children has a different precious resource; there mother tongue often referred to as L1. Typically,
when indigenous and minority languagespeaking students begin school, they are forced to learn a
language of the majority group in order to fit in socially and succeed in their academics. In a
majority of schools, these children are thought exclusively in the second language, which is most
often English. Although the L1 language is exceedingly common, a majority of school curriculums
and programs completely disregard and fail to support the minority language. Moreover, a majority
of language policies that inform these programs places no value on the knowledge and cultural
backgrounds associated with the linguistic diversity of the dialect children. Research as shown that
persistent low academic achievement and early school dropouts are common among these minority
children and partly stem from this dialect insensitive education policies. There is need to recognize
that children from diverse cultural backgrounds speak in different dialects and, therefore, there is a
necessity to enhance learning for such children while adhering and respecting their cultural
diversity (Ball, 2010). This research work thus tries to raise awareness on the need to maintain and
promote cultural and

Analysis Of Dalton Conley s Big Girls Don t Cry Essay
Music has had a huge influence on my life. I listen to music everywhere, in the car, on my way
to class, at the gym, etc. The reason I love music so much is because there are so many songs
about so many topics. When I found out that we were assigned to write an essay on a song that
we loved and relate to a real life issue that we read about in our text, I was excited. I love
analyzing the music I m listening to and making sure I know what the artist is talking about
rather than just blindly listening to the song. I chose to write about the song Big Girls Don t
Cry, by Fergie. I personally relate to this song because I went through a breakup in high school
and it was a very difficult time for me. I didn t cry but my whole support system of family and
friends expected me to. I think that this song relates to chapter eight in Dalton Conley s book You
May Ask Yourself very well. This chapter is about gender
and how the world perceives the idea of
gender and gender roles. In this song, Fergie describes a girl who has gone through a breakup.
This song relates to chapter eight very well because the gender section talks about how women
are expected to act and portray themselves. There is a lot of change happening in the country
about gender roles and gender stereotypes. People are trying to end gender roles, and expectations
of people just because of their gender. I felt that this song would be appropriate to write about
since gender issues are very prevalent today. Conley defines

The Hukou System Is The Door Guard Of The Command Economy
The hukou system is the door guard of the command economy. Discuss.
Introduction
Hukou is a household registration system that the government uses it to control migration of the
population (Zhang, 29). Simply put, hukou is a migration control system. Typologically speaking,
hukou is an official identification system that records a resident s presence including his or her
name, birth, economic power and rank, employment status, and other relevant information. The
establishment of the PRC (People s Republic of China) Regulations on Household Registration in
1958 classifies the population into two types Agriculture and non agriculture hukou. This dual
classification determines one s entitlements to state provided goods and services. Hukou ... Show

Indeed, it is possible. The government can use a complex and traditional way to allocate the
resources and social welfare within the country, in the meantime, maintain its control to individuals.
However, without the enforcement of the hukou system, meaning that the hukou system is not a
door guard of the command economy, the economy would develop in a relatively less efficiency
and a less convenient way. Obstruction may happen, as the government would require doing a lot of
complex work in allocating the resources and social welfares. Nevertheless, one has to understand
that production, investment, prices, and incomes determine centrally by the government under the
command economic system. The hukou system not only separates the population into two
categories but also regulates internal migration. Consider of that, the hukou system becomes a
perfect choice in implementing a command economic system. This is because the hukou system
not only ease government s burden but also curb the growth of the urban population; restricting
rural residents from moving into urban centres, where places usually have a better living
environments. As a door guard, the hukou system is convenience for government to launch new
policy while keep facilitating a command

A Prayer For Owen Meany Foreshadowing Analysis
In the novel A Prayer for Owen Meany by John Irving, religious theme, symbols for armlessness,
and unchronological events of foreshadowing displaying a boisterous, yet spirited story. This story
leads you on then leaves you hanging, proving the reader with a thrill throughout the entire book.
Theme, symbols and foreshowing all help tie into the literary elements displayed in the novel.
At the beginning of the novel the narrator, Johnny, points out that there is something very special
about Owen Meany, not just in the way he talks (shouts) but how deeply devoted Owen is to his
religious beliefs. Keep in mind Owen is only nine and has a devote understanding of the
relationship between faith and doubt in a world in which there is no cut and ... Show more content

Johnny s first person narrative skips form scene to scene and memory to memory. Irving uses
foreshadowing to hint at some action or meaning to come later in the book. In the first chapter of
the book Tabby, Jonny s mother, dies from a foul ball hit by Owen. It isn t until chapter three that
the foreshadowing off Tabby s death is from being hit in the head with a hailstone.
Wait a minute, she said. Let me out. You get in first. She meant that he was small enough to
straddle the drive shaft hump, in the middle of the seat, between her and Dan, but when she
stepped outside the Buick even for just a second a hailstone ricocheted off the roof of the car and
smacked her right between the eyes. Ow! she cried, holding her head. I M SORRY! Owen said
quickly (125).
Overall, this book is very intriguing and keeps you on the edge of your seat. The book is filled
with a roller coaster of emotions due to foreshowing, armlessness and miracles. Johnny s faith in
God is deeper than it ever has been by the end of the book thanks to Owen. The armlessness
throughout the books symbolizes people as well as objects and the foreshowing gives off subtle
hints of what is going to happen in the future, but in this case we already know the future due to the
books unchronological events! A prayer for Owen Meanyis a book of full of faith, symbols, and

Personal Narrative-The Old Warrior
I was only an infant when my family died. Or, at least, that s what my father told me. He had no
wife, or children of his own, and though we did not share blood, the old warrior took me under
his wing, and offered the me the same love as he would to his own kin. I will always admire the
kindness he gave to me. There were many times when my father would try and teach me to fight,
to pass his knowledge of battle onto me. However, his efforts were in vain. I was not born with
the strength or skill of a warrior. I was slim, and meek. I never spoke out of term and always did
my best to keep to the background. At the age of eight, I had grown taller than the other children.
But my skinny arms did very little for me in ways of strength. I was not fast, nor agile. In the
summer, we would race down... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

those boy would often brandish. A gift from his father, a sign of his maturity and oncoming
manhood. I gritted my teeth as the dull blade roughly rocked against my strained hair, painfully
severing each strand until my long locks had been turned into a short mess of damaged ends. It
was their trophy. A sign of a successful hunt. They had triumphantly cut my dignity from my
body, they let me go. I could not run. I had grown weak from their torment. My body
instinctively curled itself, as I tucked my knees to my chest. I remember feeling lifeless. I did not
come home that night. I was sitting by a tide pool, watching the sun begin to slip beneath the
ocean s horizon. Smooth waters, sparsely dotted by sailing boats, returning to their homes, the
winds carried itself out to sea, bringing with it the reassuring scent of hearth fires. My short hair
would blow into my eyes, and I would struggle to keep strands of deep brown from blocking my

We Must Install Breathalyzers in Cars Essay
Why do we need breathalyzers in our cars? Well, it could just save your life and the lives of
others. In a drunk driving accident in Minneapolis, 20 year old Brody Sotona was killed instantly
and his friend in the passenger seat Connor Macklin in critical condition from the drunk driver,
Yia Her (Latest News). Installing a breathalyzer or an interlock system in all standard vehicles can
help prevent accidents like this one from happening. A breathalyzer is a device used for
determining the content of alcohol from a sample of one s breath. Robert Borkenstein invented it in
1954 while serving as an instructor in alcohol intoxication to find a different solution to practical
problems associated with sampling blood for law enforcement... Show more content on

There are other ways to test for high alcohol levels, but a breathalyzer is a more convenient
device used for estimating content of alcohol from a sample of one s breath. The Urban
Insurance Agency indicates that while statistics are expected to increase, legislators are getting
alarmed to mandate everybody s vehicle to be equipped with a breathalyzer (SRInstitute).
Having them in everybody s vehicle can save lives and protect us from the dangers of other
peoples foolishness by not letting others and ourselves get behind the wheel when intoxicated.
Some people would be offended by having a breathalyzer in their car because they may not even
drink at all. Even someone who does not drink still should have an interlock system in their car
because if their friend or someone else drives the car at some point where they are intoxicated
beyond the limits it could save their life and help prevent the risk of having an accident and
harming others in the process. The typical interlock system has many safeguards to minimize
cheating. An ignition interlock system combines a Breathalyzer with electronics to bypass the
ignition in your car, and you must use it before starting your car. To get your car started you
must first blow into the breathalyzer so it can tell if you re over .08 or not. If not then you are
able to drive and you have two minutes to start your car. While driving to your destination it may
ask you to blow into again as a

Courtroom Testimony Essay
VICTIMIZED CHILDREN Herrgott 6
Courtroom testimony work to protect the child from having to physically appear in the
courtroom, as the setting may serve to be unfamiliar and terrifying, as the abuser may be present.
A child s testimony may be taken by a two way closed circuit television, or may occur pre trial.
Therefore, the child is not forced to be in the presence of the perpetrator, or before a courtroom
filled with unfamiliar faces. Confidentiality in child sexual abuse cases is crucial, as families value
their privacy and would prefer to begin the healing process away from the public s eye. Therefore,
Code В§ 3509 demands that all Court documents that include the name of the victim or witness
must be stored in a secure area, and are not to be disclosed to any individuals who are not involved
in the case. With the identity of the victim kept confidential, the needs of the child are met by a
multi disciplinary child abuse team. Such a team consists of dedicated professionals representing
many facets of the government and private sectors including police officers, prosecutors, medical
professionals, caseworkers, and therapists (U.S Department, 2017). Under Code В§ 3509, the
team works side by side to prevent any additional trauma from being inflicted upon the child, and
may aid in the healing process further down the road. By having such teams available to the victim
and the victim s family, the legal process becomes a less of a burden for the victim, and becomes
oriented around the severe and swift punishment of the offender.
Once the verdict is delivered and the legal process is complete, victims of child sexual abuse are
left with a long and arduous road to healing. For those victims who did not report their exploitation
as a child, they may not receive the same help as they would have if the Court became involved.
These unreported survivors may grow older and believe that since the abuse occurred in their
childhood, they would rather not dig up the past and bring such trauma into the
VICTIMIZED CHILDREN Herrgott 7 light. Many victims may go through life with unresolved
emotional issues, and may never be able to form trusting and intimate relationships with

Humor In Casey At The Bat
I think the author uses humor in the poem to make it seem more interesting and more amusing, so
the reader would finish reading it. I also think the author used humor to describe Casey s
experince at his game and how he let his fans down, and lost the game. An example of humor in
Casey at the Bat is in stanza two, when the author says We d put up even money now, with Casey at
the bat. I see it as humor because everyone in the stands thought that Casey would hit the ball no
matter what. I also find it funny because everyone in the stands got so happy and excited. Another
example of humor in the poem is in stanza 6 when Casey doffed his hat. I think that s funny because

The Ten Year Cultural Revolution
The ten year Cultural Revolution, in essence, was a political power struggle inside of the CCP,
and as Mao died on September 9 1976, the Gang of Four was arrested soon on October 10. Since
Mao s successor Hua Guofeng was politically weak, Deng Xiaoping came back to power. Though
the new leaders tried to help China recover from the revolution and rebuild the economic systems,
the influences of the revolution did not vanish quickly. The Party had to deal with the mistakes that
Mao made during the revolution, make the resolution on the revolution, and formulated the new
road that the country should follow. Other than the political struggles that the Party faced, the
society also created troubles. The intellectuals, especially the sent down youths who illegally came
back to cities, were excited and looking forward to a democratic government, and they again started
to criticize the government and commented on the politics just like their predecessors did in the
Hundred Flowers Campaign. However, this situation did not satisfy Deng, who emphasized that the
correct line for China was to insist the absolute principle of the Party (Meisner, 457), and he then
decided to consolidate his power. In general, though Cultural Revolutionended, the political
struggles that it represented never stopped, and would be continued for years. Meinser points out
that Mao did construct the country and lead its people to reach many striking successes, including
building a modern nation state,

Ludwig Van Beethoven s Creativity
Creativity can sometimes be the result of torment. Ludwig van Beethoven was a famous classical
composer with a hard life. Throughout his entire life, he suffered from various diseases, hearing
difficulties, mental disorders and social problems, (Russell and Nibley 25 ). Yet despite all of
these terrible ailments, he was able to compose music that is considered some of the best ever
composed, and that is still appreciated today.
Beethoven was born in Bonn, Germany on December 17, 1770 (F.C.C). His father, Johann, was
an alcoholic who used to bully and beat Ludwig and drag him crying out of bed to practice
piano. His mother, Maria, in contrast, was kind and intelligent (Russell and Nibley 11 12). He
was a natural musician and performed when he was seven on piano and at eight had piano,
violin, and viola lessons. When he was eleven, he was deputy court organist (Russell and Nibley
12). He showed talent at an early age so when he became deaf, it was a tragic loss for him. Even
though Beethoven became deaf, he still managed to become well skilled at composing, a job which
requires hearing. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Testing on Beethoven s hair indicated tremendous amounts of mercury in his system. Mercury
could have been prescribed as a remedy for his various illness when he was a child. This
poisoning could explain his early deafness and his odd behavior (Russel and Nibley 1,7).
Beethoven s middle years were spent supporting his family because his father and mother had
died when he was young (Russell and Nibley 14). He was influenced by many people who helped
and encouraged him during these years. Beethoven supposedly got his musical traits from his
grandfather (Russell and Nibley 11). Then as a young organist, Christian Gotlob Neefe, taught
Beethoven and was a good mentor and friend. Later, in 1792, Beethoven left Bonn to live in
Vienna, where Josef Haydn served to promote Beethoven to the Viennese cultural community

Speech On Water Conservation
November 14, 2017 Dear reader, Can you imagine getting sick every single time you drink water
from your sink? That is something I have had to experience for about 14 years of my life. My
country has been suffering from really bad water conservation since forever. Rivers turn grey,
fish are lacking... That is a reality the D.R.C. has to face daily. Living there made me realize how
important water conservation truly is and I would like to tell you about it. According to the
document Water Is Life , aquatic organisms (including insects) are indicators of water quality. I
recently went to a creek in Kentucky to observe its water quality. One of the things I noticed in
that creek were a few mayflies, which are one of the water quality s indicators I mentioned
above. My class and I went into that creek accompanied by 2 professionals who taught us that a
healthy stream should have a lot of mayflies in it. The creek I visited didn t have enough of them
to be labeled as healthy . Also, trash is a big problem in water conservation. I did not see any
trash in the stream which is really good and I guess it is mainly due to the stream regularly being
treated. People in this area are pretty aware of how big of an impact littering has. Just think about
it. This water is constantly going to be use and reused. A lot of countries in Africa are still
completely unaware of how much impact littering has on water. What a lot of them do not know is
that just because your river s water is not

Informative Essay On Margaret Garner
Would you ever take your child s life so they wouldn t grow up into slavery? Margaret Garner is
a famous slave who was born into slavery in 1834 in Boone County, Kentucky. She lived on the
plantation of John Pollard Gaines and was married to Robert Garner in 1849.
Margaret Garner s background consisted of adult life, education, and family life. First, Margaret
Garner married Robert Garner in 1849. He was also a slave, but had worked on a different
plantation than Margaret (Cincy). They had been married for a long time so, he must have had a
very big impact on her life. Second, Margaret Garner had been born into slavery on June 4, 1834.
Since she had been born into slavery, there is a large chance she did not have much of an education
(Morrison). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
First, Garner made it to free territory with her whole family, despite the challenges she may have
faced along the way. The trip must have been a difficult one, with her husband and four children,
they could have easily been caught (36). This must have been exceptionally difficult because
she and her family had attempted to escape in 1856, which was after the Fugitive Slave Act had
been passed, so it was easier for her to be caught and returned back South. Secondly, she killed
her daughter so she wouldn t grow up to be a slave. When she traveled to free territory, federal
marshals broke into the cabin she was in and Garner had murdered her two year old daughter
and attempted to kill her other children as well (Black). She had done this because she hated the
thought of going back to her plantation and having her children become slaves. Lastly, because
she murdered her child and attempted escape, Garner had one of the longest fugitive slave trials
in history. This case lasted for two weeks and was all over newspapers in town (Cincy). It caused
lots of controversy, because Garner s lawyer, John Jolliffe, argued that she should be charged
with a murder trial since she had committed the crime on free territory; this way, she would have
a chance at being freed from slavery because she would be considered as a free person and her
children would be considered free as well. But, the court

Influential Kings in British History
There are many influential kings in British history, one being Henry VII. Founder of the Tudor
dynasty, he was a somewhat shadowy figure; cold, cautious, rigid man who paid constant attention
to the administration and the filling of the royal funds. Henry was an accomplished politician who
restored peace and stability to England. He was more of a dry, spiritless count that enjoyed the
chase and other athletic activities but also music, dancing, and cards. With the death of Prince
Edward, and the murder shortly afterwards of his father Henry VI, the fourteen year old Henry
Tudor became the leading Lancastrian claimant to the throne. This wouldn t have been so bad if
Edward IV s brother, the Duke of Gloucester, declared his sons illegitimate and took the throne
for himself as Richard III. The disappearance and presumed murder of the young princes turned
many of Richard s subjects against him and rallied around exiled Henry Tudor. Henry was now
the leading claimant to the throne as Richard was now an illegal leader. Henry reinforced his
promised marriage to Elizabeth of York, daughter of Edward IV. This brought Houses of
Lancaster and York, which brought dissident Yorkists to Henry s side. ( Crofton, 2006) After the
death of the last two Yorkists claimants, Henry s position on the throne was much more secured.
He had isolated Warbeck from foreign allies by securing peace with France, the emperor, and
Scotland. He married his daughter Margaret to the Scotland king, James VI.

Hunger Camp at Jaslo by Wislawa Szymborska. I extracted the meaning of the poem and
supported my assumption strongly with examples of literary technique throughout the poem. I

Criterion B, appreciation of the writer s choices, I brought forth a wide range of literary device
examples ranging from alliteration and repetition, to metaphor and diction. I awarded myself with

Patient Safety And The Medical Errors
In today s fast paced healthcare environment, patient safety as well as healthcare quality has
become a major priority. A growing focus on patient safety and the increasing medical errors has
made various healthcare management teams more proactive in identifying and preventing
potential risks for patients. While a great deal of progress has been made in recognizing most
medical errors, it is also important to note that in a healthcare environment there are a number of
factors involved, therefore the strategies used to reduce them vary as well. So, despite a
healthcare provider s overall reputation, experience, skills or knowledge in the healthcare field,
there is always a slight possibility for a medical error to take place, similar to our case of Mrs.
Jonesky and Samantha Jones. Root Cause Analysis Definition According to Dattilo and
Constantino (2006), The most fundamental reason for the failure or inefficiency of a process, in
any work setting even the healthcare environment, is referred to as a root cause . Root cause
analysis (RCA) is the tedious process under which the healthcare providers take a step back and
analyze their potential mistakes, adverse events, or sentinel events in the operating room and all
areas of healthcare (Croteau, 2003). The primary goal of RCA is to overcome their mistakes, in
order to prevent future risks or damages caused to their patients. According to The Joint

as Adlerian therapy, can be applied to the case of Y Chun in order to understand her presenting

From infancy, Y Chun recognized that she was helpless, and this helplessness was characterized
by feelings of inferiority. Inferiority feelings are considered a normal condition of all people and
are identified as a foundation for human striving. Thus, Y Chun s feelings of inferiority are not

has worked to compensate for her feelings of helplessness by striving for competence and
perfection. Y Chun is currently juggling a number of tasks in which she is attempting to

likely that her desire to achieve superiority is contributing to her current symptomology. It is

she is striving to be superior to others. Instead, it means that Y Chun has been and will continue to

The Relationship Between Narcissism And The Frequency Of...

CHAPTER ONE
1.0Introduction
1.1 Background
Quite a number of social scientific researches in the communication mainstream are developing at a
faster rate, particularly researches with a purpose of determining the relationship between the social
networking sites (the use of Instagram) and narcissism. It is therefore quite in order to explicitly
establish an appropriate technique of variable determination and hypothesis testing to effectively
address the concern of the relationship between narcissism and the frequency of active usage of
Instagram (Ames Anderson, 2006). Most previous researches have presented an objective opinion
that a variety of social networking behaviors conceptualizes the notion of Narcissism. The concept
of gender disparity and age differences have tremendously influenced the findings of most previous
researches (Jayson, 2009).
The fact that quite a number of social networking sites are actively used by most young adults,
college students and teenagers establishes several variations in conceptualizing an ideal connection
between narcissism and use of Instagram. The paper addresses the concept of narcissism and
establishes the fact it is perceived and used in reference to subclinical narcissism (Bergman et al.,
2011). Subclinical narcissism is perceived as a humanity trait that exist at various levels of age
differences within the normal population. On the same note, subclinical narcissism

Linux Network Name Spaces
Overview
In this paper we will discuss the Linux Network Name Space. First, the concept of namespaces
will be described along with an overview of the default name spaces available in the Linux
operating system. The Linux Network Name Space is a key enabler for some high profile
virtualization technologies including OpenStack and Docker.
Linux Name Spaces
Linux consists of the following six namespaces:
Network Network Namespace
PID Process Namespace
Mount Filesystem Namespace
User User Namespace
IPC Interprocess Communication Namespace
UTS Host and NIS Namespace
Linux namespaces can be traced back to early UNIX technologies called chroot, process jails
controlled where access is controlled with cgroups. The concept of a namespace is to isolate
processes from other processes on the system. This concept evolved into namespaces that are
created with clone() system call and manipulated with the setns() and unshare() system calls. The
clone() system call is used when creating child namespace from a parent or root namespace. As
the name would suggest this creates a clone of an existing stack. The setns() system call is used to
join a namespace. The unshare() system call is used for moving processes into a namespace, as the
name suggests the process

suggests that the Duke was proud about his status.
The Duke is obsessively possessive. This can be seen in That s my
Last Duchess painted on the wall. This quote shows how the Duke regarded the Duchess as one

possessive qualities. Later on in the poem, we see that he treats every woman in such a manner.
This can be seen in Though his fair daughter s self, as I avowed/ At starting, is my object. He
describes the Count s daughter as being an item. This also shows that the Duke was after the

see that the Duke was greedy and powerful.
All of these characteristics of the Duke, especially his power, might suggest that the Duke was

This quote might suggest that the Duke gave commands to kill the

Christopher Wren s advancements during his time were some of the best and well known. He
furthered science and technology as a professor and helped rebuild the lives of many through his

many achievements and discoveries as well as his contribution to the London fire lead him to being
remembered in history and influenced other scientists along the way. Christopher Wrens
architecture was greatly influenced by the architecture before him. Medieval and baroque
architecture especially. Baroque architecture is tall arches long hallways and grand entrances and
rooms. Almost everything is covered in gold and intricate designs. There are often mirrors and

Essay On Anapaite And Sulfur
Introduction
Around the world, we the people, are surrounded by numerous minerals that we might not even be
aware of. After researching the minerals sulfur and anapaite, I have come to a conclusion that
minerals are an engaging topic to dig into. The two minerals I analyzed had both similar and
different qualities. While examining the minerals by using specific character traits I discovered
interesting data on each substance.
Salient Sulfur
Sulfur (also spelled sulphur) is a yellow pigmented element that makes up 3% of the earth s mass.
With the chemical formula of S8 , sulfur is additionally classified as an element. Furthermore, sulfur
is found in multiple locations that vary from hot springs within volcanic regions to specific sulfates
such as iron pyrites or gypsum. Sulfur has a steep dipyramidal crystal structure with tabular crystals

minerals don t appear to have a metal like sheen although they have different lusters. Anapaite has
a glassy luster while sulfur has a more greasy luster. Bringing up differences, the two minerals do
seem to have some alike attributes but there are many differences that go into the pair. For
instance, sulfur has a yellow streak while anapaite has a white streak. . Adding on, the mineral

Executive compensation has been at the forefront of discussion for a long period of time. Analyzed
by academics, highlighted by the media, questioned by Congress, and scrutinized by the general

substantially as companies began offering stock option programs; CEO s of S amp;P 500 saw an

They stated that CEO compensation should not be ranked by how much an executive is paid,
but how they are paid. A CEOs whose wealth was tied to a change value of shareholder wealth
had a better compensation that a CEO who had a higher monetary compensation. This analysis
led to the increase of stock options for CEOs and top corporate executives. However, this type of
compensation structure has unintended consequences tied to it. Stock options create incentives
for executives to participate in risk seeking activities. It creates a positive gain if the price of
stock goes up, but no downside risk. So what value do CEOs offer companies and their
shareholders? Just as the NFL places value on a stellar athletic performance and so called super
human ability, so does corporate America. In extremely competitive markets of CEO headhunting,
the stakes could never be higher. Companies today are facing lightening fast technological
advances, corporate espionage, global competition, extremely tight profit margins, innovative
startups and an indiscriminate number of other issues that need to be managed by top executives.
Companies not only need leaders, but also visionaries, innovators and calculated risk takers. This

Stereotype threat is a perception of fear that a person experiences in circumstances when they feel
they may inadvertently confirm a negative stereotype of a social group in which they are a part
of. The powerful effect of stereotype threat has been explored to determine the root of the issue,
who is most susceptible and what can be done to lessen the negative impacts it imparts on victims.
The essay In the Air between Us by Claude M. Steele examines the dynamic pressure stereotype
threat places specifically on African American students in a collegiate academic setting. This essay

Steele focuses her argument around high achieving, motivated black student s underachievement
rooted in stereotype threat. She argues that students that are of equal intelligent level underperform
due to subtle but powerful impacts of stereotypes, and that colleges can lessen these impacts by
addressing the issue through creation of identity safety and diminishing of racial divides. This point
is strongly proven through the study conducted by Woolf et al. (2008) where minority students
underachieve in medical school due to decreased teacher interactions rooted in student
classifications. If a safe identity space were created in this institution the classifications and
ultimately racial divide would be nullified, leading to equal relationships amongst all students and
teachers and ultimately opportunity for equal performance. Upon examination of Steele s essay and
other case studies, stereotype threats biggest disadvantage lies in ultimate creation of unequal

Summary Of The New England Primer
In today s culture, people do not generally give God very much place in their lives. Most people
want to believe God is either non existent or non important. Many colonists of early America knew
better than this. They knew that God is the only One they should glorify and worship, and thus
they looked to Him for guidance on their endeavor in the new world. Most of the early American
colonists made Goda part of every aspect of their lives, and they wanted to use their lives for His
glory.
The colonists created a political system where the people worked together to create laws, and
promised to govern themselves to the glory of God. Their government was by the people because

their relationships and thus they tried to obey what God commanded in Scripture, and treat their

that. Hence, it is therefore better to think of the violin as an instrument ... Show more content on

1644 1737), initially an understudy to NicolГІ Amati and another inhabitant of Cremona. Stradivari
has turned into the most commended violin creator ever. Like Amati before him, Stradivari was
devoted to utilizing the finest materials accessible. While Stainers and Amatis were more suited for
orchestral music in little halls, Stradivaris and Guarneris were more preffered extensive halls with
ensemble symphonies, and by 1800 these violinists were the most prominent in Europe. It is no
incident that the rise in popularity of the Stradivaris and Guarneris corresponded with the rise of
large scale orchestral works, exemplified by Mozart s last orchestras and Beethoven s Eroica
orchestra (1805) and his Violin Concerto (1806). Stradivarious improvements, however,
incorporated the refinement of the blueprint of the instrument, the diminishment of the general
swell of the top plate, an alteration of the state of the f openings, and the formation of the present
day state of the extension. The varnish of his violins has a trademark ruddy tinge. He made
instruments bound for King James II of England; Cardinal Vincent Orsini, later Pope Benedict
XIII; King Amadeus II of Sardinia; among others. Stradivari was a rich man by his sixties, and
celebrated the world over. The sound [of a Stradivari] has its own magnificence, woodiness,

Education. An example of an accelerated program in Education is the one offered at Walden
University. The school provides three accelerated MSED specializations to help students
complete the degree faster: (1) Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment (Grades K 12); (2)
Elementary Reading and Literacy (Grades PreK 6); and (3) Teacher Leadership (Grades K 12).
The program can be completed, depending on specialization, in as few as 12 months at a cost of
about $10,000, a significant tuition savings. Walden s goal is to have the same academic standards
for the accelerated program that is has with its regular programming. Employing self directed and
non self directed online coursework, students are trained to help diverse student populations thrive
in the classroom by deploying the latest education theories and evidence based strategies.
Finding the Right Program
More universities now offer online M.S. programs because online education in general has become
more accepted and more popular among students, professors and administrators. The coursework
and material will be quite similar to what is presented in regular colleges. The big difference is the
schedule. Students usually have access to their courses 24 hours per day. They can now handle
family and work obligations, and still have time to be students without quitting work

Sonnet 116 and Love Is Not All
William Shakespeare s Sonnet 116 and Edna St. Vincent Millay s Love Is Not All both attempt
to define love, by telling what love is and what it is not. Shakespeare s sonnet praises love and
speaks of love in its most ideal form, while Millay s poem begins by giving the impression that the
speaker feels that loveis not all, but during the unfolding of the poem we find the ironic truth that
love is all. Shakespeare, on the other hand, depicts love as perfect and necessary from the
beginning to the end of his poem. Although these two authors have taken two completely different
approaches, both have worked to show the importance of love and to define it. However,
Shakespeare is most confident of his definition of love, while Millay seems... Show more content on

These are all things that we must have in order to survive, but even though love can give us
none of these things, Millay then goes on to say that many men are dying because of a lack of
love: Yet many a man is making friends with death / Even as I speak, for lack of love alone (8 9).
It important to note that the buildup of what love cannot do is necessary for the dramatic
declaration that we need love regardless of how useless it may seem. This is a cleaver ploy by
Millay because although she has effectively shown how worthless love is on a physical level,
she has also effectively shown how necessary love is on an emotional level. It is important to
note that the first eight lines are a part of a single sentence. This is important because it means
that if we remove the repeated poetic verse found within these lines, we discover that Millay is
simply saying Love is not all... / Yet many a man is making friends with death / Even as I speak,
for lack of love alone (1 8) . This is a justifiable conclusion because after the words Love is not all
the author uses a colon, which means that the lines following are simply a definition for what she
means by Love is not all (1) . When put in such simple terms, it s easy to see how this is almost
indistinguishable from saying, Love is not all, but it would be better to be dead than not have it.
The second half of the poem is very different from the beginning half because the lines that follow

Coca-Cola Company Versus Pepsi Company Essay
Coca Cola Company versus Pepsi Company Coca Cola Company versus Pepsi Company Analyze
and discuss the current effects of IFRS on the pension reporting for Coca Cola and PepsiCo at
2009 year end. Pepsi and Coca Cola companies are two global competitors that have ferocious

Therefore, the increase realized from experience loss amortization is mainly attributed to the
pension. Calculate the funding levels and capital gains experienced by Coca Cola and PepsiCo in

discount rate of return is essential in increasing pension scheme. It is understood that the effect of

In Cold Blood Book Review
If one is interested in reading a disturbingly detailed and factually based novel that chronicles the
course and motives of complex crime, read Truman Capote s In Cold Blood: A True Account of a
Multiple Murder and Its Consequences. If one scares easily, is squeamish or wants to avoid
imagining a remorseless, brutal killer around every corner, do not.
In his 1965 nonfiction novel, Capote paints a disturbingly vivid picture of the quadruple murder of
the Clutters, a highly regarded and semi wealthy farming family from Holcomb, Kansas. In Cold
Blood examines the incentives and methods used by the killers, as well as the effect these murders
had on the small Kansas town.

no motives or suspects fit the case.
Additionally, when the killers were caught, their indifference towards the crime varied drastically

Similarities Between The Crucible And Candide
Representations of people and politics are often contextually influenced. Authors portray their
political perspective through the representations within texts, often giving rise to evident conflict
between an individuals conscience and political control. Such is encapsulated in Arthur Miller s
1952 play The Crucible ; a transhistorical allegory of the Salem witch trials. Correspondingly, in the
novel Candide , Voltaire attacks political manipulation of the18th century theocratic Movement of
Enlightenment . Both authors present their political speculations through exploration of an
individuals moralitywithin the restraint of a theocratic society. Such is explored through core
themes of representation of good and evil and the power of individual conscience.
All political actions, despite malleability to individual interpretations, are at their core, motivated
by the desire or need for ultimate control of a conformist society. Representations of the
dichotomy of good and evil are expressed in the texts. Both the Crucible by Miller and Candide by
Voltaire explore the ways in which values are manipulated, and imposed upon the people, to fuel
political motives and achieve public conformity/ultimate control. In a dramatisation of man s
corruption, Miller represents political motivations as a surrendering of moral and legal justice to
fulfil personal agendas. He criticises the political powers of the McCarthy Era when the widespread
fear of the communism witch hunt arose.

This whole experience showed me multiple new things that I would have never guessed before. It
truly was a voyage to Africa in its own right showing me many new things around every corner. In
the future I think it would be fun to go to more meetings and learn more new things from more
people.
The meeting was a lot of fun and extremely informative about African culture. I thought it was
amazing how nice and extremely considerate all the members were. We obviously stood out being
the only white people in the meeting, but practically every officer came over and introduced
themselves. And everyone we spoke to at the meeting was very enthusiastic and told us we should

called him Ogoo for short. Through the interview I deduced many things about the similarities
and differences between the two cultures and the ways we differ in living in America. The first
question was about where we lived. He lived in a city whereas I lived in a small town. This
brings me to believe that for the Africans that are able to move to America they live in cities do
to more money and active in modern society compared to Americans who live in a wide range of
place based on their income levels. The next question involved religion, we both answered
Christian which reveals that the setting in which we live can have a significant impact on their
religious beliefs. Then it was the lists of languages spoken in home or by members of our
families. I only had one language spoken in my house which was English. However multiple

their children learned English, which is a common

The Skin Lab Report
Fact 1: Biology The skin
The skin is the outer most layer of most animals and is seen as the largest organ of the body
consisting of 3 layers, namely the epidermis, dermis and sub dermis or hypodermis. These layers
contain different specialized structures, as can be seen on the diagram on the cover page, which
perform functions that are essential for our survival. The skin separates the internal body from the
surrounding environment and thus it protects the body against water loss, radiation, toxic
chemicals and infections in the surrounding environment. One of the structures that is further

agricultural production by lowering crop yields, often quite substantially. The traditional
response to the threat of salinity induced crop yield reductions is to apply water in excess of
plant requirements so as to leach the salts out of the root zone. (Letey and Dinar, 1986). This
approach becomes particularly problematic in the case of climate change as reduced water
supplies likely in arid and semiarid regions where salinity is an issue work against such a response.
Within the Murray Darling Basin a Panel on Integrated Salinity Management and Farm Forestry

Yankee Stadium Economics
The rise in popularity of professional sports over the last century has brought financial gain and
stability to many facets of the economy. Whether it is a new franchise, stadium, or the signing of a
big name player, these activities bring attention to a region or group and influence often comes as a
result of that attention. Money brought into an area from ticket revenue, hotel bookings,
merchandise sales, and other businesses are impacted financially when a stadiumis built. The
economic influence a stadium brings to a local economy is a positive one. Many factors come
into play when anticipating the construction of a new stadium. Will the franchise be successful in
the market? How will the stadium impact traffic flow? How long will the project take? What is
the total projected cost of the project? All of these facts are greatly considered, and the pros and
cons are assessed. After the initial planning... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Some people love their first cars, their first new cars, or their collector cars. I happen to have a
special place in my heart for my current car. I drive a Toyota Solara SLE V6 and I absolutely love it
because it is me. My car is a color known as Oceanus Blue on stone grey and has a great set of
options. I have satellite radio, a six disc CD player along with a sun roof and yes the customary air
conditioning and heater. My car also has heated leather seats and lovely wood grain touches on the
interior. The fact that it is a coupe gives it appealing lines and a sporty feel. Enough about the specs
of the vehicle and let me talk a little about the sentimental value. The car also has a great on board
trip computer that provides information on average miles per gallon of gas as well as average
miles driven per trip. My car s sleek design is perfect as far as safety goes. I was rear ended once
and with the exception of the bumper the car was in perfect condition. The airbags deployed as
expected and I was safe that time. The car has also never left me stranded which is more than I can
say for a previous car that I had. My car represents a compliment to my style as a person. I like cars
that are fast, have a nice sleek look and provide a good service. My car gives me that service and
that look that I crave and enjoy. The car does have a V6 engine which makes it a bit hard on gas
but not as hard as other cars. I love the car because even after 5 years it still looks impressive on
the road and it still works impressively. Whenever I take out I am amazed at how well the engine
responds as if it were new. Part of what makes this car my favorite is the road trips. I take my care
on extended trips to places like Tampa, St. Augustine, and Ft. Lauderdale. I love the handling
because the steering wheel is soft and smooth. One particular road trip that makes this car my

The Process Of Conducting Research
Procedure
The process of conducting research is to gather information that relates to your I search question.
The I search question that I am seeking answers to happens to be; what is the definition of family
in today s society? There are many methods of investigation that can be used to answer this question
, but I have limited it to eight methods. The eight methods I have chosen are going to give me in
depth information about my purposed I search question.
The first method of investigation for my I search project that would best help me gather
information for my project is interviewing both in person and by email. The interview process is
beneficial to my project because it gives me in depth and comprehensive information. The
interviews will consist of ordinary people in todays, society both younger and older the young will
be aged from four to thirty and old will consist of anyone over thirty. I am doing the interviews to
gain answers to my secondary questions which are based on gender and age. Also interviews
provide personal experiences and better understanding of the subject matter in this case family.
The second method of investigation will be scholarly journals. I am using journals because family
is a big topic to be covered and it has been discussed and written about over many years. Many
psychologists have written about what defines a family and how it has changed over time. These
Journals will help me show that the definition is outdated and how it should be

The Trials Of The Nuremberg Trials
It is a pleasant autumn day in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in 1960. Suddenly, agents from Israel s
intelligence agency, Mossad, tackled a man to the ground (Lichtblau, The Nazis Next Door 68).
Unbeknownst to spectators, that man was Adolf Eichmann, aide to the Fascist dictator Adolf
Hitler. Along with Hitler and other Third Reich Nazis, he had organized the Holocaust a massive
genocide murdering eleven million people. How is it possible that, after all of these years,
Eichmann remained hidden? How is it possible that the Nuremberg War Crimes Trials, which were
held by the Allied Powers after World War II, did not execute this man? The Nuremberg Trials
were
a series of thirteen trials held between 1945 and 1949 to prosecute some Nazi war criminals.
The trials were held in Nuremberg, Germany, because its courthouse was not damaged from the
war. The four Allied Powers held the hearings, and the best known trial was the Trial of Major
War Criminals ( Nuremberg Trials ). The fact of the matter is that not many Nazis were actually
convicted in the Nuremberg Trials, even though these court proceedings were supposed to bring
Nazis to justice. Overall, the Nuremberg Trials were not effective in prosecuting Nazi war
criminals. This is because few Nazis were executed, many fled to South America, the U.S. enlisted
them as spies, and they became top scientists in the United States Space Program.
One reason why the Nuremberg Trials were not effective is because only ten Nazis were

1989, and the NorthRidge quake of 1994 each amounted to an extensive forfeiture of property and

  • 2. The Success Of A Brand New Group From job interviews to making friends in a brand new group, communication is the forerunner in determining the success of every connection between two or more people. I ve never taken any classes focusing on public speaking or other types of communication before, yet my strengths and weaknesses within it determine the outcome of my daily and professional experiences. In both casual and professional conversations I am usually very shy I m afraid of what others involved will think of what I say. To combat this, I ve developed a nasty sense of false confidence. I feign an almost aggressive, standoffish attitude to assert myself, pushing people away or making them feel uneasy. I ve been doing this for as long as I can remember; it came from ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Primarily, I would like to develop ethical communication skills. I admit, I have trouble with empathy and understanding how others feel. I ve gotten much better in terms of considering others viewpoints, but I still struggle to take opposing sides seriously or consider their arguments. I tend to focus on hard facts, forgoing emotion entirely. Because of this, I would like to increase my personal perspective skills as well as my situational perspective skills (Hunt, Simmons, Simonds, 2013). Since empathy doesn t necessarily come naturally to me, I have to practice empathetic behavior in my daily life. I work on putting myself in others shoes, considering their personal perspectives and why they might feel the way they do. I listen first and foremost by reducing my interruptions and seriously considering what others say. I use body language to my advantage. For example, if someone else is speaking, I usually try to engage in very subtle submissive body language while responding nonverbally. If I agree with what they re saying, I nod. Humans are highly emotional creatures, and as such, little gestures such as eye contact or nodding matter in communicating empathetically. If I am more empathetic, then other perspectives that I may not understand will not be so jarring, they will be a learning experience. In persuasive or debate situations, this will assist me in creating a counterargument and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

HernГЎn CortГ©s: Spanish explorer who discovered and conquered the Aztec Empire, nowadays central Mexico. Pizarro and CortГ©s were two great men in the history of the world, men who made an impact in society and left their print for future generations. There have been many conquerors and discoverers that, like them, have contributed to the advances in the world made by the human race. Hospitals are not named after them and surely a hundred years from their deaths nobody is going to remember what they once did, but these people that I am talking about are the real heroes, they are the real discoverers, the real conquerors. They are the kind of people that enter our lives and stay there forever. I ve met one. In his idiosyncrasy he discovered and conquered places in me I didn t know existed. His physical characteristics, mannerism, and personality captivated me. He is tall, Caucasian. His brown eyes match the color of his hair, and his white skin makes his hair looks darker. His breath is fresh and tempting; his lips tantalizing. His jaw bone is like the one of an angel and everything in him is beautiful. His long neck is always well perfumed, and every time you get near you can feel the sweet smelling fragrance. His long, toned arms can hug you like a bear along with his hands that are big and masculine. His chest is hard and tanned; his abs prominent. His long, strong legs are like the ones of a sports man as well as his feet. His gentlemanly mannerism and courtesy are one of a kind. Furthermore, he is intelligent and mature. He can have fun like a little boy and can make me laugh with whatever craziness he does. He is very energetic and a great leader. He may be explosive at times, but most of the times he reasons before he talks and knows exactly what to say. The man ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The wedding guests were tired and stressed wondering how long the story would be? They had no choice but to listen. And now there came both mist and snow and it grew wondrous cold: And ice, mast high, came floating by, And it grew wondrous cold: And ice, mast high, came floating by, as green as emerald (Taylor Lines 45 48). Children Are At Home Learning Languages Essay In different regions around the world, young children are at home learning languages that differ from the prevailing language used in their extensive social world. When they arrive at school, these children has a different precious resource; there mother tongue often referred to as L1. Typically, when indigenous and minority languagespeaking students begin school, they are forced to learn a language of the majority group in order to fit in socially and succeed in their academics. In a majority of schools, these children are thought exclusively in the second language, which is most often English. Although the L1 language is exceedingly common, a majority of school curriculums and programs completely disregard and fail to support the minority language. Moreover, a majority of language policies that inform these programs places no value on the knowledge and cultural backgrounds associated with the linguistic diversity of the dialect children. Research as shown that persistent low academic achievement and early school dropouts are common among these minority children and partly stem from this dialect insensitive education policies. There is need to recognize that children from diverse cultural backgrounds speak in different dialects and, therefore, there is a necessity to enhance learning for such children while adhering and respecting their cultural diversity (Ball, 2010). • 8. Analysis Of Dalton Conley s Big Girls Don t Cry Essay Music has had a huge influence on my life. I listen to music everywhere, in the car, on my way to class, at the gym, etc. The reason I love music so much is because there are so many songs about so many topics. When I found out that we were assigned to write an essay on a song that we loved and relate to a real life issue that we read about in our text, I was excited. I love analyzing the music I m listening to and making sure I know what the artist is talking about rather than just blindly listening to the song. I chose to write about the song Big Girls Don t Cry, by Fergie. I personally relate to this song because I went through a breakup in high school and it was a very difficult time for me. I didn t cry but my whole support system of family and friends expected me to. I think that this song relates to chapter eight in Dalton Conley s book You May Ask Yourself very well. This chapter is about gender and how the world perceives the idea of gender and gender roles. In this song, Fergie describes a girl who has gone through a breakup. This song relates to chapter eight very well because the gender section talks about how women are expected to act and portray themselves. There is a lot of change happening in the country about gender roles and gender stereotypes. People are trying to end gender roles, and expectations of people just because of their gender. I felt that this song would be appropriate to write about since gender issues are very prevalent today. Conley defines ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Typologically speaking, hukou is an official identification system that records a resident s presence including his or her name, birth, economic power and rank, employment status, and other relevant information. The government can use a complex and traditional way to allocate the resources and social welfare within the country, in the meantime, maintain its control to individuals. However, without the enforcement of the hukou system, meaning that the hukou system is not a door guard of the command economy, the economy would develop in a relatively less efficiency and a less convenient way. Obstruction may happen, as the government would require doing a lot of complex work in allocating the resources and social welfares. Nevertheless, one has to understand that production, investment, prices, and incomes determine centrally by the government under the command economic system. The hukou system not only separates the population into two categories but also regulates internal migration. Consider of that, the hukou system becomes a perfect choice in implementing a command economic system. Having them in everybody s vehicle can save lives and protect us from the dangers of other peoples foolishness by not letting others and ourselves get behind the wheel when intoxicated. Some people would be offended by having a breathalyzer in their car because they may not even drink at all. Even someone who does not drink still should have an interlock system in their car because if their friend or someone else drives the car at some point where they are intoxicated beyond the limits it could save their life and help prevent the risk of having an accident and harming others in the process. Courtroom Testimony Essay VICTIMIZED CHILDREN Herrgott 6 Courtroom testimony work to protect the child from having to physically appear in the courtroom, as the setting may serve to be unfamiliar and terrifying, as the abuser may be present. A child s testimony may be taken by a two way closed circuit television, or may occur pre trial. Therefore, the child is not forced to be in the presence of the perpetrator, or before a courtroom filled with unfamiliar faces. Confidentiality in child sexual abuse cases is crucial, as families value their privacy and would prefer to begin the healing process away from the public s eye. Therefore, Code В§ 3509 demands that all Court documents that include the name of the victim or witness must be stored in a secure area, and are not to be disclosed to any individuals who are not involved in the case. With the identity of the victim kept confidential, the needs of the child are met by a multi disciplinary child abuse team. Such a team consists of dedicated professionals representing many facets of the government and private sectors including police officers, prosecutors, medical professionals, caseworkers, and therapists (U.S Department, 2017). Under Code В§ 3509, the team works side by side to prevent any additional trauma from being inflicted upon the child, and may aid in the healing process further down the road. By having such teams available to the victim and the victim s family, the legal process becomes a less of a burden for the victim, and becomes oriented around the severe and swift punishment of the offender. Once the verdict is delivered and the legal process is complete, victims of child sexual abuse are left with a long and arduous road to healing. For those victims who did not report their exploitation as a child, they may not receive the same help as they would have if the Court became involved. These unreported survivors may grow older and believe that since the abuse occurred in their childhood, they would rather not dig up the past and bring such trauma into the VICTIMIZED CHILDREN Herrgott 7 light. The Ten Year Cultural Revolution The ten year Cultural Revolution, in essence, was a political power struggle inside of the CCP, and as Mao died on September 9 1976, the Gang of Four was arrested soon on October 10. Since Mao s successor Hua Guofeng was politically weak, Deng Xiaoping came back to power. Though the new leaders tried to help China recover from the revolution and rebuild the economic systems, the influences of the revolution did not vanish quickly. The Party had to deal with the mistakes that Mao made during the revolution, make the resolution on the revolution, and formulated the new road that the country should follow. Other than the political struggles that the Party faced, the society also created troubles. The intellectuals, especially the sent down youths who illegally came back to cities, were excited and looking forward to a democratic government, and they again started to criticize the government and commented on the politics just like their predecessors did in the Hundred Flowers Campaign. However, this situation did not satisfy Deng, who emphasized that the correct line for China was to insist the absolute principle of the Party (Meisner, 457), and he then decided to consolidate his power. That is something I have had to experience for about 14 years of my life. My country has been suffering from really bad water conservation since forever. Rivers turn grey, fish are lacking... That is a reality the D.R.C. has to face daily. Living there made me realize how important water conservation truly is and I would like to tell you about it. According to the document Water Is Life , aquatic organisms (including insects) are indicators of water quality. I recently went to a creek in Kentucky to observe its water quality. One of the things I noticed in that creek were a few mayflies, which are one of the water quality s indicators I mentioned above. My class and I went into that creek accompanied by 2 professionals who taught us that a healthy stream should have a lot of mayflies in it. The creek I visited didn t have enough of them to be labeled as healthy . Also, trash is a big problem in water conservation. I did not see any trash in the stream which is really good and I guess it is mainly due to the stream regularly being treated. People in this area are pretty aware of how big of an impact littering has. Just think about it. This water is constantly going to be use and reused. The trip must have been a difficult one, with her husband and four children, they could have easily been caught (36). Secondly, she killed her daughter so she wouldn t grow up to be a slave. When she traveled to free territory, federal marshals broke into the cabin she was in and Garner had murdered her two year old daughter and attempted to kill her other children as well (Black). She had done this because she hated the thought of going back to her plantation and having her children become slaves. Lastly, because she murdered her child and attempted escape, Garner had one of the longest fugitive slave trials in history. This case lasted for two weeks and was all over newspapers in town (Cincy). It caused lots of controversy, because Garner s lawyer, John Jolliffe, argued that she should be charged with a murder trial since she had committed the crime on free territory; this way, she would have a chance at being freed from slavery because she would be considered as a free person and her children would be considered free as well. Founder of the Tudor dynasty, he was a somewhat shadowy figure; cold, cautious, rigid man who paid constant attention to the administration and the filling of the royal funds. Henry was an accomplished politician who restored peace and stability to England. He was more of a dry, spiritless count that enjoyed the chase and other athletic activities but also music, dancing, and cards. With the death of Prince Edward, and the murder shortly afterwards of his father Henry VI, the fourteen year old Henry Tudor became the leading Lancastrian claimant to the throne. This wouldn t have been so bad if Edward IV s brother, the Duke of Gloucester, declared his sons illegitimate and took the throne for himself as Richard III. The disappearance and presumed murder of the young princes turned many of Richard s subjects against him and rallied around exiled Henry Tudor. Henry was now the leading claimant to the throne as Richard was now an illegal leader. Henry reinforced his promised marriage to Elizabeth of York, daughter of Edward IV. This brought Houses of Lancaster and York, which brought dissident Yorkists to Henry s side. The concept of gender disparity and age differences have tremendously influenced the findings of most previous researches (Jayson, 2009). The fact that quite a number of social networking sites are actively used by most young adults, college students and teenagers establishes several variations in conceptualizing an ideal connection between narcissism and use of Instagram. The paper addresses the concept of narcissism and establishes the fact it is perceived and used in reference to subclinical narcissism (Bergman et al., 2011). First, the concept of namespaces will be described along with an overview of the default name spaces available in the Linux operating system. The Linux Network Name Space is a key enabler for some high profile virtualization technologies including OpenStack and Docker. Linux Name Spaces Linux consists of the following six namespaces: Network Network Namespace PID Process Namespace Mount Filesystem Namespace User User Namespace IPC Interprocess Communication Namespace UTS Host and NIS Namespace Linux namespaces can be traced back to early UNIX technologies called chroot, process jails controlled where access is controlled with cgroups. The concept of a namespace is to isolate processes from other processes on the system. This concept evolved into namespaces that are created with clone() system call and manipulated with the setns() and unshare() system calls. The clone() system call is used when creating child namespace from a parent or root namespace. As the name would suggest this creates a clone of an existing stack. The setns() system call is used to join a namespace. The unshare() system call is used for moving processes into a namespace, as the name suggests the process ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Some people love their first cars, their first new cars, or their collector cars. I happen to have a special place in my heart for my current car. I drive a Toyota Solara SLE V6 and I absolutely love it because it is me. My car is a color known as Oceanus Blue on stone grey and has a great set of options. I have satellite radio, a six disc CD player along with a sun roof and yes the customary air conditioning and heater. My car also has heated leather seats and lovely wood grain touches on the interior. The fact that it is a coupe gives it appealing lines and a sporty feel. Enough about the specs of the vehicle and let me talk a little about the sentimental value. The car also has a great on board trip computer that provides information on average miles per gallon of gas as well as average miles driven per trip. My car s sleek design is perfect as far as safety goes. I was rear ended once and with the exception of the bumper the car was in perfect condition. The airbags deployed as expected and I was safe that time. The car has also never left me stranded which is more than I can say for a previous car that I had. My car represents a compliment to my style as a person. I like cars that are fast, have a nice sleek look and provide a good service. My car gives me that service and that look that I crave and enjoy. The car does have a V6 engine which makes it a bit hard on gas but not as hard as other cars. I love the car because even after 5 years it still looks impressive on the road and it still works impressively. Whenever I take out I am amazed at how well the engine responds as if it were new. Part of what makes this car my favorite is the road trips. I take my care on extended trips to places like Tampa, St. Augustine, and Ft. Lauderdale. I love the handling because the steering wheel is soft and smooth. One particular road trip that makes this car my ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 52. A Cultural Metaphor For Germany Essay This paper will describe Christmas in Germany as a cultural metaphor for Germany. In this research paper I will include all of the characteristics of a German Christmas and explain all of the traditions that we try to mimick here in the United States. I will breakdown the culture of Germany and all of the holiday traditions that they celebrate during the Christmasseason. The paper will highlight how we as Americans view Christmas in Germany. Advent Wreath Der Adventskranz Advent Calendar Der Adventskalender The Advent calendar starts on the Sunday after November 26th. This is the time that is devoted for Christmas preparations. After four Advent Sundays are over, there follows Christmas Eveand Christmas Day. The Advent calendar hangs above childrens beds. The calendar has small numbers on the pictures, numbered 1 24. Wherever the numbers are there are small paper windows, which you will open to find a picture on a translucent paper. The children open these every morning and then they know how many days there are left until Christmas. Apart from the Advent calendar, families have Advent wreaths. These wreaths are made up of holly flowers and bound fir twigs and are placed on a table with four red candles placed in the center. One of the candles is lit on each Sunday preceding Christmas, with the last one being on Christmas Eve. No one knows when the Advent wreath originated in Germany. The Sunday before Advent you will see these wreaths at the local ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 53. The Process Of Conducting Research Procedure The process of conducting research is to gather information that relates to your I search question. The I search question that I am seeking answers to happens to be; what is the definition of family in today s society? There are many methods of investigation that can be used to answer this question , but I have limited it to eight methods. The eight methods I have chosen are going to give me in depth information about my purposed I search question. The first method of investigation for my I search project that would best help me gather information for my project is interviewing both in person and by email. The interview process is beneficial to my project because it gives me in depth and comprehensive information. The interviews will consist of ordinary people in todays, society both younger and older the young will be aged from four to thirty and old will consist of anyone over thirty. I am doing the interviews to gain answers to my secondary questions which are based on gender and age. Also interviews provide personal experiences and better understanding of the subject matter in this case family. The second method of investigation will be scholarly journals. I am using journals because family is a big topic to be covered and it has been discussed and written about over many years. Many psychologists have written about what defines a family and how it has changed over time. These Journals will help me show that the definition is outdated and how it should be ... • 54. The Trials Of The Nuremberg Trials It is a pleasant autumn day in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in 1960. Suddenly, agents from Israel s intelligence agency, Mossad, tackled a man to the ground (Lichtblau, The Nazis Next Door 68). Unbeknownst to spectators, that man was Adolf Eichmann, aide to the Fascist dictator Adolf Hitler. Along with Hitler and other Third Reich Nazis, he had organized the Holocaust a massive genocide murdering eleven million people. How is it possible that, after all of these years, Eichmann remained hidden? How is it possible that the Nuremberg War Crimes Trials, which were held by the Allied Powers after World War II, did not execute this man? The Nuremberg Trials were a series of thirteen trials held between 1945 and 1949 to prosecute some Nazi war criminals. The trials were held in Nuremberg, Germany, because its courthouse was not damaged from the war. The four Allied Powers held the hearings, and the best known trial was the Trial of Major War Criminals ( Nuremberg Trials ). The fact of the matter is that not many Nazis were actually convicted in the Nuremberg Trials, even though these court proceedings were supposed to bring Nazis to justice. Overall, the Nuremberg Trials were not effective in prosecuting Nazi war criminals. This is because few Nazis were executed, many fled to South America, the U.S. enlisted them as spies, and they became top scientists in the United States Space Program. One reason why the Nuremberg Trials were not effective is because only ten Nazis were ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Although each earthquake was very devastating on is own; the Great Quake 0f 1906, the Loma Prieta quake of 1989, and the NorthRidge quake of 1994 each amounted to an extensive forfeiture of property and life.
