How To Write A Descriptive Essay About A
Person
Crafting an essay on the intricacies of writing a descriptive essay about a person may initially
seem like a straightforward task, but delving into the nuances reveals a complexity that requires
both skill and finesse. The challenge lies not only in the technical aspects of essay composition
but also in capturing the essence of an individual through words.
To start with, one must navigate the delicate balance between providing vivid details and
avoiding excessive embellishment. Striking the right chord demands a keen understanding of the
subject, as well as the ability to convey their unique characteristics in a compelling manner.
Juggling adjectives and sensory details becomes an art, requiring the writer to paint a vivid
picture that resonates with the reader.
Moreover, the challenge extends to maintaining a coherent structure. The narrative must unfold
seamlessly, guiding the reader through a chronological or thematic exploration of the person's
traits and experiences. Each paragraph should contribute to the overall portrait without lapsing
into disjointed fragments, creating a cohesive narrative that engages the audience.
Furthermore, the challenge lies in avoiding clichГ©s and generic descriptions. Steering clear of
overused phrases is crucial to ensure the essay stands out and truly captures the subject's
individuality. This necessitates a meticulous selection of words and phrases, as well as a creative
approach to presenting details that go beyond the obvious.
In addition, the writer must grapple with the ethical dimension of the task. Balancing honesty
with sensitivity is essential when delving into personal aspects of a person's life. Striking this
balance requires a nuanced understanding of the subject's boundaries and a commitment to
presenting a respectful portrayal.
In conclusion, writing an essay on how to craft a descriptive essay about a person proves to be a
multifaceted challenge. It involves a careful dance between technical proficiency, creativity, and
ethical considerations. While the difficulty may initially seem daunting, it is within this
complexity that the true art of capturing a person through words is revealed.

Change is Difficult, but Inevitable in Life Essay
Change can often be a difficult thing for everyone to accept. No matter how big or
small, sadly many of us fear it. The worry in change can be seen evidently in that
friend unsure of his future after high school, or that family member who stumbles
when asked what they would like to eat, only to order the same thing they have
ordered the last 10 times. From moving to another city, to ordering a different meal
at your favorite restaurant, everyone will have that important date with change.
The difference is in how each person decides to handle it. Some like to walk her to
the door and give her a kiss goodnight, some even refuse to accept it s happening,
and some don t even show up. I am one of those people, emailing that I just can t

Maybe it is a new job, or the promise of seeing old friends. Moving is a perfect
example of how pain and change can equal gain. Although difficult to accept,
sometimes embracing the odd variation can be rewarding. As a young boy, friends
are made quickly, generally without any thought. A Tonka Truck rear ends another
Tonka Truck and within two minutes of sandbox hit and runs a new friend is
made. The same cannot be said of High school. Those friends you made in
elementary are still your friends when you first enter into high school. But slowly
they drift off into the abyss, slipping into with different cliques and before you
know it, you are put on the backburner. You feel forced, worried and are fairly sure
that rear ending a grads car will not work. This is yet another perfect example of
change, that anyone that s ever been to high school has probably faced. Accepting
this sort adjustment will teach you new skills, and a lot about yourself. Making
new friends can be hard or easy, depending on how you tackle the problem. Change
is simply a tool, it is you who decides what to make with it. As one grows up they
may learn that moving can bring a better life, new friends can be more rewarding than
the last, or that big changes are essential to proper development and progression. An
obvious example of maturation is when one releases that they cannot rewrite their
beginning, but they can in fact change
Anne Sexton Old
In the poem Old by Anne Sexton, the narrator is presumably in a hospital setting as
she says she is afraid of needles and tired of rubber sheets , tubes , and faces that I
don t know . This choice of setting is most likely a result of Sexton s own stays in
mental hospitals because of her depression and addiction troubles. After the setting
is established the narrator says that she thinks death is starting and that is starts
like a dream . Dreams are seen as a positive thing where people experience their
inner most desires. By equating death to a dream, Sexton is saying that she sees
death as a place of peace and solace from unhappiness. The suicidal tendencies
expressed in the poem as well as the narrative voice remind me of conversations
Descriptive Essay About Friendship
It was 12 o clock at night and for the first time it was quiet, other than police sirens
and cars honking at each other it was quiet. I was trying to go to sleep but I couldn t.
So I headed downstairs and grabbed a warm glass of milk to help me sleep. That didn
t do any good so I just went to my computer to see what my friends were doing. (if
they were online) So I opened up skype and began to call my friends. Surprisingly
they were online.
There was me summer who had had really good grades and was also was pretty. (
think) Then there was Clem, we ve been best friends for a long time, she had
blonde hair and blue eyes, I always thought she was pretty. Then there s Jeffy, he s
addicted to eating hot cheetos and I don t know why but his whole kitchen was in
his room. I like him but sometimes he can be a little weird. And finally Kyle, he was
also my best friend but a little nerdy, not confident, and always stuttering.
I asked if anybody knew how to go to sleep. Because I didn t feel sleepy at all. All
of them said they didn t know how to, and they re dealing with the same issue as
me. I noticed someone that shouldn t belong in our group chat. We didn t invite
him to our group call. So we thought it was a glitch. So I told my friends to exit the
call and call me back because it was distracting us. So when they called me back it
was still there. I was a little creeped out because this would never happen in real life.
But then we soon the glitch had a typing symbol indicating
Nikki Giovanni Biography
Nikki Giovanni is one of the best known African American poets across the globe.
During the 1960s and early 1970s is when Nikki began to reach fame. As a black
woman she defined the African American voice through her poetry. She was a
major force in the black art movement. Ms. Giovanni was born in Knoxville,
Tennessee on June 7, 1943. Some major accomplishments that have occurred
during her career is when she sold more than 100,000 copies of her poem, Truth
within the first six months in 1971. Although she has won numerous awards she
was the first recipient to receive the Rosa Parks Women of Courage Award . In mid
January of 1983 she gets diagnosed with lung cancer and later on survived with one
lung. One of my personal favorites she wrote was, And I Have You this poem was

This poem for instance gives the message don t think you need someone else to
complete yourself. The poem is named, Woman has a possibility of relating to her
life to a time when she thought she needed someone else to complete her, and the
moment that she realized she did not. However Nikki Giovanni was never
mentioned to be married or in a committed relationship with anyone. A quote from
the text that stood out was, she tried to be a book, but he wouldn t read meaning
she tried to be open to the man but he wouldn t listen and ignored her. In my
opinion her most abnormal work was the poem, When I Die due to the imagery
and metaphors. It goes in depth when describing the man dying with his eyeballs
out the whole poem is referring to a death of an individual in a horrific weirdly
descripted manner. As usual, poems always have moral or theme for this poem in
particular. It was the ones that have done you wrong have no right to cry at your
funeral due to the fact of them not truly loving

Jeans Are A Modern Staple Of Everyone s Closet
Jeans are a modern staple in everyone s closet. They are versatile and look great on
everyone, if you have the perfect pair. Not all jeans cater to everyone s needs; you
must find your preferred jean brand. Jeans are an article of clothing I invest in, much
like many other people. I suffered through ill fitting jeanall throughout middle school,
until I was enlightened. My sister took me to American Eagle picked out a pair for
me to try on. I could immediately feel and see the quality difference. The jeans
didn t even feel like the inelastic and inflexible jeans I was forced to wear
throughout my childhood. American Eagle Jeans had set a new standard for me.
They offer an extensive variety in styles, washes, and sizes. The only small flaw is
their retail pricing, but it is certainly worth the investment. American Eagle jeans are
made out of a premium cotton denimmaterial called Cotton Elastane and top of the
line dyes. Cotton Elastane is breathable, elastic, flexible, and comfortable. This ninety
nine percent cotton one percent elastane blend of fabrics is what sets American Eagle
Jeans from other jean brands that produce a product that is stiff, unbreathable,
uncomfortable, and restrictive. This premium material is extremely durable,
withstanding multiple washes and wears with no signs of weakening. Through all of
the washes and wears they still manage to keep their elasticity. Other jeans I have
had would lose their original shape, color and fit after just a

day, Ulysses and his wife sat together in a room after Ulysses had killed all of
Penelope s suitors. Ulysses dragged his feet over to Penelope and there he
confronted her. He remembered the walls with floral accents on every corner and a

held cloth and a loom. It was there that Penelope had pondered about her suitors. A
breeze entered the room through an opening in the window. The trees swayed in the
wind, and the sun peeked through the murky clouds. Thunder outside shook the
castle, and the clouds rained bullets. How do I know you are truly my husband?

Descriptive Essay On The Pink Chair
It was a long time ago, and I don t remember most of it, but what I do remember is
how the floor just started to shake. I was very little, and couldn t understand what
was going on, but my mom called for my dad and told him to find my sister, Molly
and get her onto the Pink Chair. The Pink Chair was a large pink chairwith leaves and
flowers on it. It had a huge cushion, and a back cushion, sort of like a mini couch.
The leaves, which were green, contrasted greatly with the bright, cotton candy pink
of the cushion color. The flowers were a softer color of pink, barely showing up,
but there nonetheless. Our parents used to bring us all onto it and read to us. It
was our safe place, where we would all curl up and read, or watch movies.
Sometimes just to sleep. It was always a very calm affair, going onto the Pink
Chair, but now there was a hint of urgency in my mom s tone. Her face was tight,
from what I can remember, and she was swaying slightly, due to the shaking of the
floor. Sher cracked her knuckles and shook her hands out. Looking outside at the
rattling windows, she picked me up and started to shakily walk towards the chair. I
wasn t aware that anything out of the ordinary was happening. My brain just couldn t
process it. I was too young. My motherput me on the chair, and I instantly looked for
my sister. Where s Molly? I asked. It was my instinct to wonder where she was.
She ll be here, my mom said. Oh look! There she is! she smiled at Molly.

Comprehensive School Counseling
When school counselors are tasked with designing and sustaining comprehensive
school counseling programs they must act from a strengths based principle, by not so
much concentrating on barriers but focusing on promoting/advocating strengths
/abilities and resiliency. Counselors intervening effectively with youths at risk from
early deprivation will help build resiliency in spite of negative factors in their lives
(Rak Patterson, 1996). This approach was not designed to be used as a delivery
method for comprehensive schoolcounseling, but to serve as a framework for
deciding what should be emphasized in comprehensive school counseling programs
(Dollarhide Sagniak, 2017). The foundation of this approach are supported by six

The sleek bay horse that bore Reginald Windsor ambled down the forest path with
the comfortable, well known rhythm that he had become accustomed to. It was the
third day out en route to Fort W. and with luck the weary courier would bed down
tonight in the relative comfort of his bed at the barracks. For nearly a month now
he had been on constant duty as his superiors worked out the details on the plan to
move out the native population from the area once and for all. Colonel Anderssen, a
stickler for the minutest detail and an old sort who preferred pen and paper to the
cable, had kept him busy, sending out dispatch after dispatch, but at long last there
was to be a furlough and some much needed rest.

The terrain here was hilly and the trail quite winding, but even their best laid plans
only allowed several hundred feet before their prey would be out of danger.
The bay charged to the bend with all of its might and almost made it unscathed, but
at the last moment it was hit in the flank and started. For a long second Reginald felt
as if the horse were going to founder. There was a jog to the left and then a
correction. It was in this moment that providence made one of a long string of
choices and the horse and rider slipped out of sight behind a screen of trees.
Behind the natives howled in anger, for while they had hit their mark they had not
managed to stop him. Horseless themselves they ran on down the long path which
now seemed to be a hindrance to them as well. They passed by the smear of red
that was the steed s lifeblood and reached the corner. There was none to be seen. On
they marched quickly, on occasion spying a sign of blood here or there, but after
half a mile they were forced to stop.
It was evident that the horseman had left the path for the pattern of crimson had
faded, but backtrack and try as they might they were not able to pick up the path
again. No hoof prints were to be found and there was no signs of broken branches. It
was as if their quarry had simply disappeared.
Reginald and the horse that some prior rider had named Dacia had cut a path

The Perception Of A Social Group
The ability to manipulate perception when it comes to social movements or
collective action is key. Not just for those on the outside looking in, but those who
are participating as well. It not only determines what a social group will do to
invoke change, it will also affect how a society will agree or disagree with the
change. This manipulation of perception is best defined as framing, and is more
than just labeling something as good or bad. Pulling from the articles read from this
week the most convincing conceptualization of the term framing was the argument
that it consisted of three elements, with the first being the diagnosis of something
as problematic and need for alteration, followed by a proposed solution that
specifies what needs to be done, and finally a call to rational engagement in
corrective action. (Snow Benford 1988) The first point highlighted the importance
of contention when it comes to collective action. Problems within any given society
are prevalent at all times, however, not until there is a call for a change does
collective action occur. Contention rests in the need for a change, whether or not
opportunity is the catalyst for contention is debatable, however the conceptualizing
of framing laid out by Snow and Benford also brings into question whether or not
collective action is a choice rather than a response. In the each of the three steps
mentioned above there has to be a framing. There has to be a framing of a situation
as problematic and

Althusser (1970) forwarded the idea of Ideological State Apparatuses that function
through ideology. He identified these various ISAs as religious, educational, family,
legal, political (includes political system and parties), trade unions, communications

mobilization not through violence but through ideology. Cleaver failed to see that
working class self valorization is hindered by equally powerful forces: the Ideological

Norman Rockwell And The American Academy Of Design
Norman Rockwell was born in 1894 and Died 1978. At the young age of 14, he

an image that may have two or three different interpretations of the same photos.

Invasion of Afghanistan Essay
Invasion of Afghanistan
Even before the terrorist attack on the World Trade Centre in New York on
September 11th 2001, Afghanistan was probably the most isolated country in the
world. Only three other states recognised its rulers, who in the mid 1990s had
swept across the country to impose a very strict and distinctive form of Islamic law
upon the Afghan people, ending nearly 20 years of civil war in the 90% or so of the
country which they control. Osama Bin Laden, an exiled Saudi Arabian who is the
USA s prime suspect for the World Trade Centre atrocity and other terrorist attacks in
the 1990s, had based his Al Qa ida organisation in Afghanistan since 1996. The
Taliban said that Bin Laden was a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Afghan people have suffered greatly under Taliban rule, especially women and
ethnic and religious minority groups, and they deserve a different and better
government. In the past few years the Taliban have made it very difficult for the UN
and other aid agencies to deliver humanitarian relief in Afghanistan, so in the
Medium term an invasion would improve matters.
Even if the Taliban were judged to be equally guilty with Bin Laden, the Afghan
people are not; the Taliban conquered the country with the help of Bin Laden and
thousands of other foreign, mostly Arab, fighters, and their rule is heavily
oppressive. The invasion of Afghanistan is still likely in the long run to lead to a
prolonged power struggle or civil war between different ethnic groups or local
warlords, as before 1996. This will lead to many innocent lives being lost in the
crossfire, prevent humanitarian aid that is desperately needed after three years of
drought reaching millions of starving Afghans, and create a terrible refugee crisis.
Invasion was the only way to try to capture or destroy Bin Laden and his terrorist
organisation. Bombing on its own can prepare the way for a ground invasion,
guaranteeing air supremacy and disrupting the enemy s command and control
systems, but
Explain the Roles of Both Internal and External...
Explain the roles of both internal and external stakeholders in the selected business
and show how their objectives and expectations have changed over time.
What is a Stakeholder?
A stakeholder is someone who is interested in a company or business, e.g. Tesco; they
can either be an internal or external customer to the business. They may also be
affected in a situation that happens to the company because they them selves may of
given and invested money into the company or may just be interested in it and use it
quite often. They can either have direct or indirect control of the business, internal
usually being direct while external being indirect control of the business. Key
stakeholders are those who draw in resources such as money ... Show more content on

As well as the other all management of the staff and the pay they are being given,
they will also focus and concentrate on the reputation of Tesco. If the company has a
bad reputation then customers and other companies may not shop and buy products
from them. For instance, if another company offered to buy ten thousand units of
baked beans and they were not successfully delivered, this would create a bad
reputation for the company. The managers would not only have to make sure that
these situations are not to occur but how to handle them if they were to occur. They
may offer discounts to improve their reputation to other customers and companies,
they may also offer dividends to share holder. People will not want to buy shares and
feel they would want to pull out if the reputation of the company was not good.
Managers would also want to make sure that Tesco reaches the targets set for it
each year. For example, if a meeting were held and the conclusion of it was to open
three new shops in London; the manager would have to make sure that the target is
going and on the right track to be met. If the aim was targeted to finish in three
years, then the manger may examine and survey that a new shop would open in
London every year for the next year.
Managers may be given more responsibility of the supermarkets they run because of
the redundancies now days. As companies were and maybe still are facing the heat of
the recession, they may want to cut staff
Portrayal Of Women
Portrayal of Women in the Media
Gender is the psychological characteristics and social categories that are created by
human culture. Doing gender is the concept that humans express their gender when
they interact with one another. Messages about how a male or female is supposed to
act come from many different places. Schools, parents, and friends can influence a
person. Another major factor that influences millions of impressionable females and
males is television. Not only does the television teach each sex how to act, it also
shows how one sex should expect the other sex to act. In the current television
broadcasting, stereotypical behavior goes from programming for the very small to
adult audiences. In this broadcasting range, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

When adults are shown on the show the men are seen as rugged construction
workers or mailmen, while the women are seen as cooks and mothers. Also,
children are shown examples of items that their sex is expected to like. When the
children on the television are asked what animals are their favorite, girls name
teddy bears and kitties, boys name big lions, grizzly and polar bears. This makes
the girls seem innocent, only liking things that are cuddly and do not post threats
to those around them. Teletubbies also shows a definitive way the females are
supposed to act. This show maintains sex role stereotypes such as caretaker and
follower for girls. The show has four main characters called Tubbies. Tinky Winky,
Dipsy, Laa Laa and Po are their names. They differ in size and color. The two larger
Tubbies, Tinky Winky and Dipsy are the malecharacters and dressed in dark,

Shooting An Elephant
The short story Shooting an Elephant by George Orwell is about Orwell s
experience with peer pressure as a sub divisional police officer in Moulmein, Lower
Burma. This experience occurred during the 1930s when the Burmese had a very
strong anti European feeling because they did not want people who are not natives
controlling their own country`s domestic and international affairs. It commenced
when the sub inspector at a police station asked him to control an elephant who
wrecked the bazaar, livestock, a house and ate fruit in the city. Its mahout, the only
person who can control it when it was in that state, was a twelve hours` journey away
from the elephant because he went in the wrong direction. The elephant also broke its

Most of the differences deal with the traits and situations the protagonists faced.
One difference between the peer pressure each of the main characters faced was
that Esperanza faced peer pressure dealing with beauty and sexuality. Another
difference between the peer pressure is that Orwell`s experience involves a death of
a creature while Esperanza`s experiences do not mention death anywhere. The final
difference is that in Shooting an Elephant, there was a greater possibility for Orwell
to go to trial but Esperanza can`t since she doesn t know who raped her.
First of all, Esperanza`s experiences dealt with her beauty, physical traits, and
sexuality. She wanted to be cute, have large hips and have a relationship with a boy.
Esperanza was also raped and tricking into kissing and eventually changed her views
on boys and men. However, George Orwell`s experiences dealt with defending
himself and the natives. It also dealt with colonialism and imperialism. In addition,
Esperanza is inferred to be in her adolescence and close to adulthood while Orwell is

Use of Light and Darkness in Joseph Conrad s Heart of Darkness
Joseph Conrad s Heart of Darkness contrasts light and darkness, to represent the
civilized and uncivilized sides of the world. Conrad uses light to represent the
civilized side of humanity while contrasting the dark with the uncivilized and savage.
Throughout the thematic stages of the novel, that is the Thames river London, the
company s office in Belgium, the journey to the heart of darkness and the conclusion,
light and dark is used to represent these sides of humanity, but on a deeper level many
assumptions of darkness and light are challenged, with the appearance of light and

From the start of the novel, Conrad foreshadows Marlow journey into the heart of
darkness through the use of light and darkness. Marlow s journey to the Belgium
company s office, where he encounters two women knitting black wool. The two
women are commonly interpreted of representing two of the three fates of Ancient
Greek mythology who spun, wove and cut thread to represent the birth, lifespan
and death of mortals. This darkness used perhaps foreshadows the evil he will
encounter, something that merely fate may decide. Marlow describes the place as
the city that always makes me think of a whited supulchre , and the city of the dead
, thus, white in this instance is used to represent the exploitation of the company
and the true evil, which is hiding behind the façade of light and progress.
Therefore Conrad uses the civilized white to represent the evil of the dead city and
the search for the precious trickle of ivory .
The map in the company s office, and the light and darkness associated with it again
demonstrates and perhaps foreshadows the good and evil, and the civilized and
uncivilized side of humanity. . He describes the map as being marked with all the

Online Dating And The Internet
In society today, you frequently see advertisements for online dating. Online dating is
communicating with others through the internet with the objective of beginning a
romantic relationship. You can join the online dating community through websites or
apps. It is very common for individuals to take part in this method of dating. While
some experiences with the service conclude with happy endings, you can t be
guaranteed one. There are dangerous factors when it comes to using online dating.
The first online dating website was established in 1995. In the United States
49,250,000 people have tried online dating (Statistic Brain Research Institute).
While most dating sites are for everyone, there are also different sites for people of
specific ages, races, and religions. Most of the time you are required to fill out a
survey of questions. This is so the site can evaluate your answers to find people
they think you would be compatible with. You can then talk online and also make
plans to meet in person. People use these dating sites hoping to find true love. It is
true that online dating services can lead you to true love and happiness. However
there are many dangerous factors as well. One of those being people pretending to
be someone they aren t. Since this particular type of dating is online, people can
pretend to be whoever they want to be. It is very easy to be deceived when using
online dating. Whether someone is using a fake profile picture and/or fake

Essay on Imperialism- Conrad s Heart of Darkness
Imperialism and its oppressive processes have affected societies as well as
individual lives for centuries. In Joseph Conrad s Heart of Darkness, oppression
through imperialism demonstrates how a certain civilization, the Congolese, is
affected negatively by imperialism. By focusing on Africa, it allows for a graphic
recount of the many years spent reigned by foreign oppressors and tyrannies. In
Heart of Darkness, the Congo is oppressed by the imperialists economically and
geographically. As well, the oppressed people are taken advantage of spiritually.
Conrad describes how the ruling tyrant is affected by the process of conquering a
local people and this draws a parallel to the ruling empire. Conrad, through his novel,

The economic and geographic domination of an area for the benefit of another
people directly affects those already inhabiting the region. The conquering of a
place and its people does not just affect the land and its resources; it also affects
those inhabiting it. Marlow describes the Congolese s spirituality being oppressed,
The conquest of the earth, which mostly means the taking is away from those who
have a different complexion of slightly flatter noses than ourselves, is not a pretty
thing when you look into it too much. (Conrad, 69). Marlow discusses his aunt s
thoughts on the process, She talked about weaning those ignorant millions from
their horrid ways. He watches the Europeans using their own laws to control and
oppress the people of the Congo, for example, he sees an ugly chain gang at the
first station, which does not seem as though they are criminals. Nevertheless, the
European law had decided for the natives, Marlow describes, like shells from the
man of war, like an insoluble mystery from the sea. (Conrad, 12). The Congolese
appointed to work on his ship, he describes as, still belonging, to the beginnings of
time, but as long as there was a piece of paper written over in accordance with some
farcical law or other made down the river, it didn t enter anybody s head to trouble
how they would live. (Conrad, 33 34). Skulls of then men judged by the European
law were set on stakes around Kurtz s

This has been quite helpful to present day researchers and history students.
Anyone can anonymously post articles and raise their voices in print media i.e.

They were capable of quick set up and quick production roughly 1000 impressions

By late 1930s and early 1940s, printing presses substantially increased in efficiency.

A book can have a portrait format or landscape format. Portrait format is where the
book is deeper than it is wide and landscape is where the book is wider than it is

reference books like atlases.
Papers used to print the page of a book are likely to have a smoother finish than
those used for newspapers. This is to make the book durable. The books are then
bound together to form a book. There are three types of binding: perfect, edition and
saddle stitching. Edition binding is the most durable.
The structure of a book is categorized into preliminary matter, main text and end

Compare And Contrast Marriage And Getting Married
Getting Married vs cohabitating
Cohabitation is an arrangement where two people who are not married live
together. Such arrangements have become increasingly common in Western
countries during the past few decades, being led by changing social views,
especially regarding marriage, gender role and religion. Where as getting married is
also called wedlock, is a socially recognize union between Sprouse that establishes
right and obligation between those spouses, as well as between them and any

married or cohabitating when a person is fed up living a single life. One might
prefer getting married and be a noble husband and father whereas another people

etermination of iodine concentration of Unknown samples using a UV Visible
Spectrophotometer.
Abstract:
The purpose of this experiment is to use UV/Visible Spectrophotometer to determine
the concentration on three unknown samples of iodine (A, B and C), this is done by
measuring the absorbance of different known concentration of iodine using a UV
/Visible Spectrophotometer and plotting a calibration curve of Absorbance Vs
Concentration (as shown in Fig 4). This is used to find the concentration of the
unknown samples as the absorbance was measured using a UV Spectrophotometer.
The wavelength used to measure the absorbance is 287.20 nm and the method
number used was 40 . The concentration of Samples A, B and C are 1.48*10 4M,

When a light set at a specific wavelength enters the cuvette which contains the
solution that need to be tested, some of the incident light (I0) is absorbed by the
solution, and the rest of the light which leaves the solution (the transmitted light I) is
detected, the amount of light absorbed depends on the concentration of the solution.
The amount of light that goes into the solution and the amount of light that leaves the
solution gives a value of the absorbance (A) of the solution which can be calculated
by using the equation: (A= log (I/I0)). This equation assumes that all the incident
light is either transmitted or absorbed, therefore, reflection or scattering are
insignificant. [1]
The quantity of light absorbed is inversely proportional to the logarithm of the
amount of light absorbed by the substance. The amount of light absorbed by a
substance is directly proportional to the concentration of the substance (As the
concentration increases, the absorbance also increases provided that the wavelength
is constant). [1]
A=пЃҐlc [1]
Where пЃҐпЂ is the substance and wavelength specific absorption coefficient,
I is the length the light travels through the sample and c is the concentration of the
sample. [1]
To comprehend the theory behind how a spectrophotometer works, an understanding
of the relationship between energy and light must be required. Light contains tiny

Value Proposition For End Customer
Value proposition for end customer:
Allowing end customers to have undisrupted production / operational process within
Low Voltage Motors by utilizing ABB s extensive network of Authorized Value

Overview:
End Customers, who decided to share the data collected from SMT with ABB are
eligible for this option. Since the data is collected from multiple motors, and
customer s maintenance teams are responsible for many other operations beside the
low voltage department, end customers face unnecessary opportunity costs, which
could be better utilized if shifted to their core operations. In addition, End customer
maintenance teams are not necessarily certified to repair ABB products (which can
result in faster breakages, loss of warranty, etc.)
How ABB can seize this market opportunity:
ABB can enter by creating a new service offering through so called insurance
approach. Within this business model, customers are able to choose between a
standard and premium option to reduce in house costs of their maintenance (through
less on site teams needed, less training) and also the risk of bad service. Solution is
simple, nevertheless highly rewarding. When the signal goes yellow / red, end
customers contact ABB who, with their 24/7 responsive line, access to on site / on
demand spare parts and vast network of authorized service providers (through
distributors, OEM s), sends their

A Flat Tax Is A System Of Taxation
A flat tax is a system of taxation that taxes at a uniform rate, regardless of income
level. In the United States we currently use a progressive tax system, meaning that
high income earners pay taxes at a higher rate than low income earners. A flat tax
rate is a tax system with a constant marginal rate, which is applied to individual
income. There are various taxsystems that are labeled a flat tax even though they are
significantly different. A true flat rate tax is a system of taxationwhere one tax rate is
applied to all personal income with no deductions. A flat tax is a tax that is applied
at a consistent rate with no variables in its application. In contrast with progressive or
regressive taxes, where the rate that is applied... Show more content on

In the true sense of the word, these are actually progressive tax plans, but they fall in
between the current progressive plan and a strictly constant marginal rate.
PROS
1.Simplicity considered a significant benefit of the flat tax system. One tax rate
makes for easy computation by the Internal Revenue Service and straightforward
payments from taxpayers.
2.Because the flat tax taxes only one income, it is easier to understand and to report.
3.The flat tax eliminates global taxation and allows the United States to compete
more evenly in global markets.
4.This tax system does not discriminate based on income level; everyone pays the
same percent of income.
5.An advantage of a flat tax is that no one receives special treatment; all people
whether poor or rich are taxed in exactly the same way.
6.Would result in considerable savings to all parties; the time and energy businesses
and individuals spend annually in preparing tax forms would be greatly reduced, as
would the costs to the government of collecting revenue.
7.The Internal Revenue Service could be substantially downsized.
8.For tax payers, the financial cost of complying with regulations set by the IRS is
high.
9.With a flat tax system, a section of the tax code biased against capital formation,
death tax, capital gains tax and double taxation of savings and dividends would be
removed.
10.A flat tax will only tax earned income.
11.Professional tax

The New South Wales ( Nsw ) Criminal Justice System
Introduction The New South Wales (NSW) criminal justice system has been
separated into two tiers of justice . The two tiers of justice involve the separation of
lower and higher courts, where the lower courts are comprised of Local courts and
the higher courts are comprised of District and Supreme courts. The local courts
role lies mainly in exercising summary jurisdiction whereas more serious indictable
offences are dealt with in higher courts. However, there is more than just a
jurisdictional divide and there are other aspects that significantly distinguish the
lower courts from the higher courts. Having made visits to the Supreme, District
and the Local Courts, I was able to obtain a better understanding of the Australian
adversarial system. This report will attempt to analyze the distinctions between the
different types of courts through primary observations. The report will also assess
the models of justice in operation, the triviality of the lower courts compared to the
higher courts and assess court procedure in each court. Two tiers system During her
study of the Scottish criminal justice system, McBarnet was able to construct an
idea of a two tier justice system. In her work, McBarnet reported on the major
disparity of proceedings and procedures between the higher and lower courts. Upon
my observation of proceedings in the lower and higher courts, I believe this gap is
prominent in the NSW criminal adversarial system. Models of justice Upon my

Ill health provides jobs for doctor s nurses and specialists (P.Trowler, Investigsting
Health welfare and Poverty, 1996 p.27) .
Marxist theory believes that there is a relationship between health and illness and
capitalist social organisation. The main focus is on how the definition and treatment
of health and illness are influenced by the nature of economic activity in a capitalist
society. Marxist believe that the health service exists for two reasons, they believe it
has a genuine role in that it persuades a large number of the population that
capitalism cares for them (Moore, 2008 p.263).
Marxist believe that the health service helps the capitalist economy more directly,
believing that the health service maintains a healthy, hardworking and productive
workforce. Workers who are ill or injured are returned to work and therefore
continue to make profits for the owners of capital. Marxist believes that inequalities
in health are related to how productive people are. The low levels of expenditure on
the working class is explained by the presence of social class division throughout
society, whereby working class people consistently receive worse treatment across the
range of services in housing, education and health (Moore, 2008, p.265).
Interactionists tend to concentrate on relatively small scale levels of social
interaction, between individuals or small social groups. They focus on the way in
which individuals act, making conscious choices about

Stevens has it all: funny poems, serious poems, spiritual poems; how can you expect
a girl to just choose one?
A brief respite was needed to determine which poem to talk about and I ve come to
the conclusion that Restatement of Romance is the one that will be most
manageable to tackle in truth Sailing after Lunch is the poem that I find myself
most drawn to but alas ita too long. I figure there s no place like the title to start my
analysis. What s in a name anyhow? I think as titles go, Stevens is generally a pro.
This poem, in particular, is strange in the way the actual body of the poem relates to
the title. I was reading this criticism and the author argues that the title is unusual
given the actual text of the poem. He even goes as far as saying Steven s poem lacks
any of the passion, sensuality, sentimentality, or effusiveness characteristic of so
much conventional romantic poetry. I don t know if I agree.
I read that line. Then I read the poem again. Then I went back to the criticism. For
me, there s always this sort of back and forth (if I m reading thoroughly and
actively). I find the process necessary to determine what I think; after all, critics aren
t right just because they re critics. In the case of Restatement of Romance, I initially

Polyvinylchloride
A polymer is a large molecule built up from numerous smaller molecules. These large
molecules may be linear, slightly branched, or highly interconnected. In the latter case
the structure develops into a large three dimensional network. The small molecules
used as the basic building blocks for these large molecules are known as monomers.
For example, the commercially important material polyvinylchloride is made from
the monomer vinyl chloride. The repeat unit in the monomer usually corresponds to
the monomer from which the polymerwas made. There are exceptions to this, though.
Polyvinylchloride is made formally considered to be made up of vinyl alcohol
(CH2CHOH) repeat units but there is, in fact, no such monomer as vinyl alcohol. The
appropriate molecular unit exists in the alternative tautomeric form, ethanal
CH3CHO. To make this polymer, it is necessary first to prepare polyvinyl ethanoate
from the monomer vinyl... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This latter indicator of size is called the degree of polymerization, DP. The relative
molar mass of the polymer is thus the product of the relative molar mass of the repeat
units and the DP. There is no clear cut boundary between polymer chemistryand the
rest of chemistry. As a very rough guide, molecules of relative molar mass of at
least 1000 or a DP of at least 100 are considered to fall into the domain of polymer
chemistry. The vast majority of polymers in commercial use are organic in nature,
that is they are based on covalent compounds of carbon. This is also true of the
silicones which, though based on silicone oxygen backbone, also generally contain
significant proportions of hydrocarbon groups. The other elements involved in
polymer chemistry most commonly include hydrogen, oxygen, chlorine, fluorine,
phosphorous, and sulfur, i.e. those elements which are able to form covalent bonds,
albeit of some polarity, with
The Red Army
The Red Army Right after the October 1917 Bolshevik Revolution, an army was
established and took the official name of Workers and Peasants Red Army (It was
only renamed Soviet Army in 1946). The Red army was absolutely essential for the
Communists to stop several coalition armies attacking the new Communist regime.
During WW I, a huge Imperial Russian army (estimated at 19 million soldiers and
officers representing over 15% of the Russian population) had been fighting Germany
on the Eastern front with little success. Under equipped, poorly trained and
supervised, it had lost close to 9 million soldiers through desertions, deaths, wounded
or prisoners. In July 1918, upon Lenin s order, the Romanov Imperial family was

These squads had instructions to shoot retreating soldiers or possible deserters
(note that such squads had been in history already deployed within the Roman
Empire conquests as well as in Napoleonic battles). To ensure political compliance
with Bolsheviks principles, each battalion had at his helm a Political Commissar in
charge not only of educating the troops, but also holding the responsibility to
counter sign all decisions from high level officers. By October 1919, all three
White armies (vastly outnumbered by the Red army troops) had been defeated. One
could say that Trotsky saved the Soviet regime from falling into oblivion. Another
primary element of the Red army dominance is most probably the effective use of
well crafted posters. These did impress by and large naive illiterate peasants soldiers
trusting the new Bolshevik regime would bring them a better future. We should not
forget that peasants were deeply religious and used to worship God and his Saints
praying in front of colourful icons. In a sense, through well crafted posters,
Bolsheviks used successfully this Russian cultural attribute to win commitment from
the peasant soldiers

Of the 26 million animals used, 95% of those animals are small rodents, birds, and

animal testing look ethical and not as bad, just how the following fact states. The
human population of the United States eats about 9 billion chickens each year or
more than 340 chickens for each animal used in research. (listland). This quote
shows not many of our animals are being tested on even though 26 million may
seem like a large number. In reality, though, we are eating more than we are testing
on and the little ones we are testing on won t make any difference any way, they
can reproduce just fine. Many people have argued over this fact, but a question
always pops up and never seems to be solved. Why is it okay for even the little
number of animals to be tested on? The small animals such as birds, fish, and mice
have a right to live their lives and just because they re small it doesn t lessen their

After Rachel has struck her favourite pupil, James, with a ruler, drawing blood, she
confesses that she cannot lose face with an apology:I cannot say I m sorry. Not in
front of them all, twenty six beings, all eyes. If I do say this, how shall I appear

good to tell you? I don t think so. I want to, but I can t. Maybe it ll come out twenty

shoot each other with intent to hurt. Well they are wrong paintball is a very safe
sport and non violent. There are a lot of rules, regulations and also gear that
paintballers have to follow. A lot of injuries involved are due to human error and
plain stupidity. Due to this it gives paintball a lot of negative vibes. But as people

football than you are playing paintball. I mean safety is a huge issue for parents ...

Paintball field owners do a lot to help prevent these injuries on their fields by
training staff to remove the people from the field if the remove their mask or if the

How To Write A Descriptive Essay About A Person

  • 1. How To Write A Descriptive Essay About A Person Crafting an essay on the intricacies of writing a descriptive essay about a person may initially seem like a straightforward task, but delving into the nuances reveals a complexity that requires both skill and finesse. The challenge lies not only in the technical aspects of essay composition but also in capturing the essence of an individual through words. To start with, one must navigate the delicate balance between providing vivid details and avoiding excessive embellishment. Striking the right chord demands a keen understanding of the subject, as well as the ability to convey their unique characteristics in a compelling manner. Juggling adjectives and sensory details becomes an art, requiring the writer to paint a vivid picture that resonates with the reader. Moreover, the challenge extends to maintaining a coherent structure. The narrative must unfold seamlessly, guiding the reader through a chronological or thematic exploration of the person's traits and experiences. Each paragraph should contribute to the overall portrait without lapsing into disjointed fragments, creating a cohesive narrative that engages the audience. Furthermore, the challenge lies in avoiding clichГ©s and generic descriptions. Steering clear of overused phrases is crucial to ensure the essay stands out and truly captures the subject's individuality. This necessitates a meticulous selection of words and phrases, as well as a creative approach to presenting details that go beyond the obvious. In addition, the writer must grapple with the ethical dimension of the task. Balancing honesty with sensitivity is essential when delving into personal aspects of a person's life. Striking this balance requires a nuanced understanding of the subject's boundaries and a commitment to presenting a respectful portrayal. In conclusion, writing an essay on how to craft a descriptive essay about a person proves to be a multifaceted challenge. • 2. Change is Difficult, but Inevitable in Life Essay Change can often be a difficult thing for everyone to accept. No matter how big or small, sadly many of us fear it. The worry in change can be seen evidently in that friend unsure of his future after high school, or that family member who stumbles when asked what they would like to eat, only to order the same thing they have ordered the last 10 times. From moving to another city, to ordering a different meal at your favorite restaurant, everyone will have that important date with change. The difference is in how each person decides to handle it. Some like to walk her to the door and give her a kiss goodnight, some even refuse to accept it s happening, and some don t even show up. I am one of those people, emailing that I just can t make... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Maybe it is a new job, or the promise of seeing old friends. Moving is a perfect example of how pain and change can equal gain. Although difficult to accept, sometimes embracing the odd variation can be rewarding. As a young boy, friends are made quickly, generally without any thought. A Tonka Truck rear ends another Tonka Truck and within two minutes of sandbox hit and runs a new friend is made. The same cannot be said of High school. Those friends you made in elementary are still your friends when you first enter into high school. But slowly they drift off into the abyss, slipping into with different cliques and before you know it, you are put on the backburner. You feel forced, worried and are fairly sure that rear ending a grads car will not work. This is yet another perfect example of change, that anyone that s ever been to high school has probably faced. Accepting this sort adjustment will teach you new skills, and a lot about yourself. Making new friends can be hard or easy, depending on how you tackle the problem. Change is simply a tool, it is you who decides what to make with it. As one grows up they may learn that moving can bring a better life, new friends can be more rewarding than the last, or that big changes are essential to proper development and progression. An obvious example of maturation is when one releases that they cannot rewrite their beginning, but they can in fact change

Anne Sexton Old In the poem Old by Anne Sexton, the narrator is presumably in a hospital setting as she says she is afraid of needles and tired of rubber sheets , tubes , and faces that I don t know . This choice of setting is most likely a result of Sexton s own stays in mental hospitals because of her depression and addiction troubles. After the setting is established the narrator says that she thinks death is starting and that is starts like a dream . Dreams are seen as a positive thing where people experience their inner most desires. By equating death to a dream, Sexton is saying that she sees death as a place of peace and solace from unhappiness. The suicidal tendencies expressed in the poem as well as the narrative voice remind me of conversations

And finally Kyle, he was also my best friend but a little nerdy, not confident, and always stuttering. I asked if anybody knew how to go to sleep. Because I didn t feel sleepy at all. All of them said they didn t know how to, and they re dealing with the same issue as me. I noticed someone that shouldn t belong in our group chat. We didn t invite him to our group call. So we thought it was a glitch. So I told my friends to exit the call and call me back because it was distracting us. So when they called me back it was still there. A quote from the text that stood out was, she tried to be a book, but he wouldn t read meaning she tried to be open to the man but he wouldn t listen and ignored her. In my opinion her most abnormal work was the poem, When I Die due to the imagery and metaphors. It goes in depth when describing the man dying with his eyeballs out the whole poem is referring to a death of an individual in a horrific weirdly descripted manner. As usual, poems always have moral or theme for this poem in particular. It was the ones that have done you wrong have no right to cry at your funeral due to the fact of them not truly loving

I could immediately feel and see the quality difference. The jeans didn t even feel like the inelastic and inflexible jeans I was forced to wear throughout my childhood. American Eagle Jeans had set a new standard for me. They offer an extensive variety in styles, washes, and sizes. The only small flaw is their retail pricing, but it is certainly worth the investment. American Eagle jeans are made out of a premium cotton denimmaterial called Cotton Elastane and top of the line dyes. Cotton Elastane is breathable, elastic, flexible, and comfortable. This ninety nine percent cotton one percent elastane blend of fabrics is what sets American Eagle Jeans from other jean brands that produce a product that is stiff, unbreathable, uncomfortable, and restrictive. I was very little, and couldn t understand what was going on, but my mom called for my dad and told him to find my sister, Molly and get her onto the Pink Chair. The Pink Chair was a large pink chairwith leaves and flowers on it. It had a huge cushion, and a back cushion, sort of like a mini couch. The leaves, which were green, contrasted greatly with the bright, cotton candy pink of the cushion color. The flowers were a softer color of pink, barely showing up, but there nonetheless. Our parents used to bring us all onto it and read to us. It was our safe place, where we would all curl up and read, or watch movies. Sometimes just to sleep. It was always a very calm affair, going onto the Pink Chair, but now there was a hint of urgency in my mom s tone. Her face was tight, from what I can remember, and she was swaying slightly, due to the shaking of the floor. Sher cracked her knuckles and shook her hands out. Looking outside at the rattling windows, she picked me up and started to shakily walk towards the chair. I wasn t aware that anything out of the ordinary was happening. My brain just couldn t process it. I was too young. My motherput me on the chair, and I instantly looked for my sister. Where s Molly? I asked. It was my instinct to wonder where she was. She ll be here, my mom said. Oh look! There she is! she smiled at Molly. Mama! Molly

For a long second Reginald felt as if the horse were going to founder. There was a jog to the left and then a correction. It was in this moment that providence made one of a long string of choices and the horse and rider slipped out of sight behind a screen of trees. Behind the natives howled in anger, for while they had hit their mark they had not managed to stop him. Not just for those on the outside looking in, but those who are participating as well. It not only determines what a social group will do to invoke change, it will also affect how a society will agree or disagree with the change. This manipulation of perception is best defined as framing, and is more than just labeling something as good or bad. Pulling from the articles read from this week the most convincing conceptualization of the term framing was the argument that it consisted of three elements, with the first being the diagnosis of something as problematic and need for alteration, followed by a proposed solution that specifies what needs to be done, and finally a call to rational engagement in corrective action. (Snow Benford 1988) The first point highlighted the importance of contention when it comes to collective action. Problems within any given society are prevalent at all times, however, not until there is a call for a change does collective action occur. Contention rests in the need for a change, whether or not opportunity is the catalyst for contention is debatable, however the conceptualizing of framing laid out by Snow and Benford also brings into question whether or not collective action is a choice rather than a response. In the each of the three steps mentioned above there has to be a framing. There has to be a framing of a situation as problematic and

Even if the Taliban were judged to be equally guilty with Bin Laden, the Afghan people are not; the Taliban conquered the country with the help of Bin Laden and thousands of other foreign, mostly Arab, fighters, and their rule is heavily oppressive. The invasion of Afghanistan is still likely in the long run to lead to a prolonged power struggle or civil war between different ethnic groups or local warlords, as before 1996. If the company has a bad reputation then customers and other companies may not shop and buy products from them. For instance, if another company offered to buy ten thousand units of baked beans and they were not successfully delivered, this would create a bad reputation for the company. The managers would not only have to make sure that these situations are not to occur but how to handle them if they were to occur. They may offer discounts to improve their reputation to other customers and companies, they may also offer dividends to share holder. People will not want to buy shares and feel they would want to pull out if the reputation of the company was not good. In Joseph Conrad s Heart of Darkness, oppression through imperialism demonstrates how a certain civilization, the Congolese, is affected negatively by imperialism. By focusing on Africa, it allows for a graphic recount of the many years spent reigned by foreign oppressors and tyrannies. In Heart of Darkness, the Congo is oppressed by the imperialists economically and geographically. As well, the oppressed people are taken advantage of spiritually. Conrad describes how the ruling tyrant is affected by the process of conquering a local people and this draws a parallel to the ruling empire. Conrad, through his novel, attempts to... (Conrad, 69). Marlow discusses his aunt s thoughts on the process, She talked about weaning those ignorant millions from their horrid ways. He watches the Europeans using their own laws to control and oppress the people of the Congo, for example, he sees an ugly chain gang at the first station, which does not seem as though they are criminals. Nevertheless, the European law had decided for the natives, Marlow describes, like shells from the man of war, like an insoluble mystery from the sea. (Conrad, 12). The Congolese appointed to work on his ship, he describes as, still belonging, to the beginnings of time, but as long as there was a piece of paper written over in accordance with some farcical law or other made down the river, it didn t enter anybody s head to trouble how they would live. Abstract: The purpose of this experiment is to use UV/Visible Spectrophotometer to determine the concentration on three unknown samples of iodine (A, B and C), this is done by measuring the absorbance of different known concentration of iodine using a UV /Visible Spectrophotometer and plotting a calibration curve of Absorbance Vs Concentration (as shown in Fig 4). This is used to find the concentration of the unknown samples as the absorbance was measured using a UV Spectrophotometer. The wavelength used to measure the absorbance is 287.20 nm and the method number used was 40 . The concentration of Samples A, B and C are 1.48*10 4M, 1.03*10 4M ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When a light set at a specific wavelength enters the cuvette which contains the solution that need to be tested, some of the incident light (I0) is absorbed by the solution, and the rest of the light which leaves the solution (the transmitted light I) is detected, the amount of light absorbed depends on the concentration of the solution. The amount of light that goes into the solution and the amount of light that leaves the solution gives a value of the absorbance (A) of the solution which can be calculated by using the equation: (A= log (I/I0)). This equation assumes that all the incident light is either transmitted or absorbed, therefore, reflection or scattering are insignificant. [1] The quantity of light absorbed is inversely proportional to the logarithm of the amount of light absorbed by the substance. The amount of light absorbed by a substance is directly proportional to the concentration of the substance (As the concentration increases, the absorbance also increases provided that the wavelength is constant). [1] A=пЃҐlc [1] Where пЃҐпЂ is the substance and wavelength specific absorption coefficient, I is the length the light travels through the sample and c is the concentration of the sample. The local courts role lies mainly in exercising summary jurisdiction whereas more serious indictable offences are dealt with in higher courts. However, there is more than just a jurisdictional divide and there are other aspects that significantly distinguish the lower courts from the higher courts. Having made visits to the Supreme, District and the Local Courts, I was able to obtain a better understanding of the Australian adversarial system. This report will attempt to analyze the distinctions between the different types of courts through primary observations. The report will also assess the models of justice in operation, the triviality of the lower courts compared to the higher courts and assess court procedure in each court. Two tiers system During her study of the Scottish criminal justice system, McBarnet was able to construct an idea of a two tier justice system. In her work, McBarnet reported on the major disparity of proceedings and procedures between the higher and lower courts. Marxist theory believes that there is a relationship between health and illness and capitalist social organisation. The main focus is on how the definition and treatment of health and illness are influenced by the nature of economic activity in a capitalist society. Marxist believe that the health service exists for two reasons, they believe it has a genuine role in that it persuades a large number of the population that capitalism cares for them (Moore, 2008 p.263). Marxist believe that the health service helps the capitalist economy more directly, believing that the health service maintains a healthy, hardworking and productive workforce. Workers who are ill or injured are returned to work and therefore continue to make profits for the owners of capital. Marxist believes that inequalities in health are related to how productive people are. The low levels of expenditure on the working class is explained by the presence of social class division throughout society, whereby working class people consistently receive worse treatment across the range of services in housing, education and health (Moore, 2008, p.265). Interactionists tend to concentrate on relatively small scale levels of social interaction, between individuals or small social groups. They focus on the way in which individuals act, making conscious choices about

In the latter case the structure develops into a large three dimensional network. The small molecules used as the basic building blocks for these large molecules are known as monomers. For example, the commercially important material polyvinylchloride is made from the monomer vinyl chloride. The repeat unit in the monomer usually corresponds to the monomer from which the polymerwas made. There are exceptions to this, though. Polyvinylchloride is made formally considered to be made up of vinyl alcohol (CH2CHOH) repeat units but there is, in fact, no such monomer as vinyl alcohol. During WW I, a huge Imperial Russian army (estimated at 19 million soldiers and officers representing over 15% of the Russian population) had been fighting Germany on the Eastern front with little success. By October 1919, all three White armies (vastly outnumbered by the Red army troops) had been defeated. One could say that Trotsky saved the Soviet regime from falling into oblivion. Another primary element of the Red army dominance is most probably the effective use of well crafted posters.
