Persuasion Liking Examples
The element of persuasion liking can be used in daily interactions with teachers and classmates
by giving compliments to win my peers and teachers over. Just being myself can win anyone over
seeing that I am very honest and up forward. This element can improve my ability to achieve my
goals by helping meet people who are like myself, which will make it comfortable to seek help
from them when I need it. When you can cooperate with others it gives you the ability to be able
to communicate with people. Communication is very key when you are in a class setting. The
ability to persuade others benefits my specific career considering that I am a very likeable person.
People can't help but to gravitate towards my energy. For example, a lot of the supervisor's

My Father's Cancer
As an 11–year–old child most kids worry about going outside to play with friends or on their cell
phones not most, children worry about if there is going to be dinner on the table, or if the water
is shut off, or if the electricity isn't working. Most kids don't have to grow up and act like an adult
until their 18 or 19 years old. Not many children at the young age of 11 have to sit and wander if
today or tomorrow is the last time they get to see their dad. When I turned 11–years–old my whole
childhood began to change my life went from being perfect to everything but perfect. One day I
came home to hear the news my father, my best friend; my hero was diagnosed with stage 3 colon
cancer. Not knowing the struggle my family was about to take on I just began to cry. I had a million
things running through my head what's going to happen? Will everything be okay? Why him?
What is going to happen? With all these things rushing through my head all I could do was cry
not knowing this was least worse to come. My father was put on chemo after chemo, radiation
after radiation, pill after pill they all had different reactions to his body causing different things to
happen for different reasons. Some would make him sick, some would make him feel like he was
being electrocuted if he got cold, some made him happy, or even weak. No matter what reaction
happened to his body, it didn't get rid of the cancer if anything it made it spread. Soon the cancer
was in many different organs of his

English 1301 Reflection
My attitude going into English 1301 was excitement at first. When I was in high school I took
English and when I would turn in my essays I would get an "A" on every essay. The second week of
English 1301 was when my instructor assigned me my first essay. This essay was to explain my
composing process. At first I had no idea that I even had a process for composing an essay. I had
never really thought about it. Then the instructor said that it had to be in APA format, 12 point
font, and Times New Roman. This was all very new to me because in high school my teacher did
not require me to do this. Throughout this essay you will see the changes of my composing
process, the impact this class has had on me, and how I feel about my improvement. My
composing process changed throughout the semester because I felt that my old process was not
good enough. Therefore, I decided to walk into my house one day and sit down and begin to do
homework. In doing this I paid close attention to every step I took from beginning to the end of
my essay. A few things that I have added into my composing process was an outline and going to
a public area where no one knows me or wants to talk to me. Throughout this course, I have
realized that if I am around other students that are working on homework, I am able to buckle
down and get my work done too. However, if I am in a public area such as the Student Center at
TSTC, I am unable to focus because people come up to me and start talking to me which takes

A Songwriting Analysis Essay
A Songwriting Analysis
There is one thing that is vital to every musician and that is songwriting. Whether they right the
songs or not they must have something original to sing and play before they can even try to be a
success. Songwriting is a craft that almost anyone who really enjoys music has tried his or her
hand at. Songs have the power to inspire, unite, and comfort a person unlike any other form of
media. Record companies are always on the lookout for the next number one single and while
some songs are completely unique and original most of the biggest singles in the past history have
all had things in common that made them so popular. The really good memorable songs of the past
have all generally had a least some of the...show more content...
Rollingstone recently did a list of what they thought to be the one hundred greatest pop hits. By
taking a few songs from this list it is possible to examine some of these characteristics that make a
great song. One of the most memorable and timeless songs in history would have to be Rolling
Stones "Satisfaction." In the Rollinstone article they ranked this song as being the second greatest
pop song of all time right under the Beatles "Yesterday." This song is centered on a guitar riff that
lead guitarist Keith Richards almost while sleeping. He woke up with the riff in his mind,
recorded it on a tape player, and then immediately fell back asleep. This guitar riff is the hook of
the song, which had immediate appeal and connection for the listener. The hook and immediate
mass appeal were two of the techniques mentioned earlier as a character of a successful song. The
song also touched the emotional chord of the listener with intense lyrics that made cultural
commentary in the sixties the song was destined to be a hit. It was at number one for four weeks, on
the charts for fourteen weeks, and was the song that propelled the Rolling Stones from a decent band
into one of the greatest rock bands of all time. An example of a song that was successful more
because of its lyrical content rather than mostly its musical aspect is Michael Jackson's "Billie Jean."
The song was one of Jackson's first attempts at songwriting

Film and video production Essay
Film and Video Production:
Becoming the Future of the Silver Screen
Every so often a movie is released with such tense anticipation and glamorous visual art that the
public is drawn to this dramatic rendition of life in the theatre. For even just two hours or so, you
are put into a different lifestyle. Action, drama or comedy it may be. We are thrust into a different
way of thinking. We are forced to learn the characters thoughts and feelings. Thehard work and
artistic skill that goes into these magnificent films is not an easy thing to mimic. Out of the
thousands of movies released worldwide each year only a handful are truly worthy of the label film
art. Most of the great movies are either produced by a multi million dollar...show more content...
Even if one plans on becoming a director and not a screenwriter one needs to know what kind of
scripts to look for. This is very important for a beginning small movie director since the reader will
most likely be writing their own scripts to get some recognition. A script is a document that
outlines every aural, visual, behavioral, and lingual element required to tell a story, according to
the dictionary definition at www.Wikidpedia.org. It is crucial to remember that film is a visual
medium. One doesn't tell the audience the story, one shows them. So what one will be writing is
not a novel but more like explaining a dream on paper. One must learn to write a screenplay
visually. As famed director Darren Aronofsky said in an interview with a struggling screenwriter
trying to get published,
"Most of what one writes that doesn't work on screen will just be improvised on the movie set".
There are many important requirements for screenplays that may seem like minutia at first glance
but the format of ones script is extremely important
since it will be submitted along with hundreds of others to one producer. For example, the main font
in use in the U.S. by both publishers and the Hollywood film industry is Courier 12 pitch According
to AFI (American Film Industry) the basics of screenwriting. Though this seems unimportant, when
a publisher is looking at a manuscript he is going to look for things

Introduction to Soccer Essay
Soccer is a popular sport played all over the world. Even though it has only been popular in the
United States for the past 30 years, soccer has been a long time favorite most everywhere else.
The sport dates back to the Egyptians, who played games involving the kicking of a ball. Now, the
sport has grown to a global pastime, including men's and women's teams, and the World Cup (which
is played every four years). Soccer originated with kicking games played by people in ancient
civilizations. The modern version came about in the early nineteenth century, in England. It started
as a game involving kicking and handing, but later this branched off into two separate sports: rugby
and football (which is what the English call soccer). Around...show more content...
In addition to the field itself, all that is needed for a game is two goals (eight feet high and eight
yards apart) and a ball. Each player wears hard plastic or padded shingaurd, covered by long
socks, for protection during play. Cleats are also worn for traction on the field. A goalie may also
wear a special padded shirt, and gloves to protect his or her hands. A standard field, as regulated
by the Federation Internationale de Football Association (or FIFA), has a length between 100 and
130 yards, and a width of between 50 and 100 yards. The rules of play for soccer have deliberately
been kept simple. The referee makes most of the decisions, and attempts to encourage fair play.
The game starts off with a kick off, and the teams are allowed to pass, dribble, juggle, head, kick,
and shoot the ball to place it down the field, and (hopefully, or eventually) into their opponent's
goal. If the ball is kicked off the field over the length of the field, the other team is given a throw–in,
where the ball is thrown over the player's head, and back onto the field. If the ball is kicked over the
goal, or across the width of the field, either a corner kick results (by the offensive team, where the
ball is placed on the corner of the field and kicked into play) or the defensive team is awarded a goal
kick, where the ball is placed on the corner of the goal box, and kicked back into play. If a goal is
scored, the ball is taken back to the center of

Essay on Criticism
Criticism
Criticism can be negative or positive; the way it is said may be good or bad. Why do most of us
want to avoid giving or receiving criticism? The purpose of criticism is to encourage positive
outcomes (what the giver wants). Ideally, it brings balance into our lives, provides us with a basis of
comparison, and brings truth, honesty, and intimacy. Hopefully, it gives us honest feedback–a
balance of praise and criticism. Do most of us want to know how we are doing?
Why do successful business people actually seek out criticism from people they respect? Why do
people feel they are unfairly criticized? Are tone of voice, choice of words important? What

Know ones skill and weaknesses; ones successes and failures. How does one know when one is
doing a good job? Need to have a "feel" so we are not caught off guard. Need to learn to take
criticism on the job professionally, and emotion (breathe deeply and slowly). Try to remain
impartial. Ask yourself is the criticism is valid. What can we learn?
Other factors that color criticism: 1) relationship with the giver of criticism (friends give advice).
Why do we resent criticism from in–laws, parents and spouses more than bosses do? 2) Choice of
words–how it is given. "I can't believe you would do such a stupid thing." What words make you
angry, loud, etc? 3) Style of delivery, sacristy, fast and angry, loud, etc. 4) Timing, and public or
private. 5) Other types: beyond your control, aimed at your gender, size, heritage, appearance, etc
QUESTIONS: How good are you at staying cool under criticism? (Knots in stomach, anger, etc).
How well do you listen when you are criticized? (Rephrase so that you really understand what he
/she is saying). How effectively can you organize your thoughts to answer (if you think you
should)? How well do we put the criticism in perspective (not life threatening)? Do we brood on it
for weeks, months?

What is Good? Essay
What is Good?
Good, a word used by all, but most not truly knowing what the true concept of good actually is.
What is good? Good, in my own understanding, entails an act or statement that is, not only morally
and perceptively correct in the eyes of others, but also in one's own eyes. There is a sense of
accomplishment; a sense of achievement felt when something good has been done. This feeling
usually does not only pertain to the individual, but also to those around him who might have
benefited in one way or another from his/her good deed or statement. It is important to note that
morals only apply to individual action and consequence. Ethics, however, apply to the actions of two
or more people. Ethics are meaningless unless...show more content...
Good can be thought of as situations in which one is found to have more pleasure in his/her life
due to the occurrence of that specific event. One can receive more pleasure in life by getting a
new job. A new job would give someone money and the opportunity to do more things that would
add pleasure to their life. An example of this in my life would be a job I just recently got in which
I am now making more money than I was at my old job. With this job, I now have more money to
do more things that will help to bring more pleasure in my life. I will never be able to do all things
that I would like to do and this is where Plato's idea of good being unattainable is demonstrated.
Something that is unachievable would seem to have different opinions based on different personal
beliefs. There are the ethical and moral stands on each issue and oneself and the people around them
determine this sense of good by acknowledging the ethical and moral standpoints and determining
what is more important to them regarding their decision. If something makes you and the people
around you happy, then what happened to cause this occurrence was good. For instance, scoring the
game–winning touchdown in a football game is good because your whole team will be happy about
that touchdown and about winning the game. Another instance of this would be talking to your best
friend after he/she just heard some bad news and cheering them up is good.

My father was put on chemo after chemo, radiation after radiation, pill after pill they all had different reactions to his body causing different things to happen for different reasons. Some would make him sick, some would make him feel like he was being electrocuted if he got cold, some made him happy, or even weak. • 3. English 1301 Reflection My attitude going into English 1301 was excitement at first. When I was in high school I took English and when I would turn in my essays I would get an "A" on every essay. The second week of English 1301 was when my instructor assigned me my first essay. This essay was to explain my composing process. At first I had no idea that I even had a process for composing an essay. I had never really thought about it. Then the instructor said that it had to be in APA format, 12 point font, and Times New Roman. This was all very new to me because in high school my teacher did not require me to do this. Throughout this essay you will see the changes of my composing process, the impact this class has had on me, and how I feel about my improvement. My composing process changed throughout the semester because I felt that my old process was not good enough. Therefore, I decided to walk into my house one day and sit down and begin to do homework. In doing this I paid close attention to every step I took from beginning to the end of my essay. A few things that I have added into my composing process was an outline and going to a public area where no one knows me or wants to talk to me. Throughout this course, I have realized that if I am around other students that are working on homework, I am able to buckle down and get my work done too. However, if I am in a public area such as the Student Center at TSTC, I am unable to focus because people come up to me and start talking to me which takes Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. A Songwriting Analysis Essay A Songwriting Analysis There is one thing that is vital to every musician and that is songwriting. Whether they right the songs or not they must have something original to sing and play before they can even try to be a success. Songwriting is a craft that almost anyone who really enjoys music has tried his or her hand at. Songs have the power to inspire, unite, and comfort a person unlike any other form of media. Record companies are always on the lookout for the next number one single and while some songs are completely unique and original most of the biggest singles in the past history have all had things in common that made them so popular. The really good memorable songs of the past have all generally had a least some of the...show more content... Rollingstone recently did a list of what they thought to be the one hundred greatest pop hits. By taking a few songs from this list it is possible to examine some of these characteristics that make a great song. One of the most memorable and timeless songs in history would have to be Rolling Stones "Satisfaction." In the Rollinstone article they ranked this song as being the second greatest pop song of all time right under the Beatles "Yesterday." This song is centered on a guitar riff that lead guitarist Keith Richards almost while sleeping. He woke up with the riff in his mind, recorded it on a tape player, and then immediately fell back asleep. This guitar riff is the hook of the song, which had immediate appeal and connection for the listener. The hook and immediate mass appeal were two of the techniques mentioned earlier as a character of a successful song. The song also touched the emotional chord of the listener with intense lyrics that made cultural commentary in the sixties the song was destined to be a hit. It was at number one for four weeks, on the charts for fourteen weeks, and was the song that propelled the Rolling Stones from a decent band into one of the greatest rock bands of all time. An example of a song that was successful more because of its lyrical content rather than mostly its musical aspect is Michael Jackson's "Billie Jean." The song was one of Jackson's first attempts at songwriting Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Even if one plans on becoming a director and not a screenwriter one needs to know what kind of scripts to look for. This is very important for a beginning small movie director since the reader will most likely be writing their own scripts to get some recognition. A script is a document that outlines every aural, visual, behavioral, and lingual element required to tell a story, according to the dictionary definition at www.Wikidpedia.org. It is crucial to remember that film is a visual medium. One doesn't tell the audience the story, one shows them. So what one will be writing is not a novel but more like explaining a dream on paper. One must learn to write a screenplay visually. As famed director Darren Aronofsky said in an interview with a struggling screenwriter trying to get published, "Most of what one writes that doesn't work on screen will just be improvised on the movie set". There are many important requirements for screenplays that may seem like minutia at first glance but the format of ones script is extremely important since it will be submitted along with hundreds of others to one producer. For example, the main font in use in the U.S. by both publishers and the Hollywood film industry is Courier 12 pitch According to AFI (American Film Industry) the basics of screenwriting. • 6. Introduction to Soccer Essay Soccer is a popular sport played all over the world. Even though it has only been popular in the United States for the past 30 years, soccer has been a long time favorite most everywhere else. The sport dates back to the Egyptians, who played games involving the kicking of a ball. Now, the sport has grown to a global pastime, including men's and women's teams, and the World Cup (which is played every four years). Soccer originated with kicking games played by people in ancient civilizations. The modern version came about in the early nineteenth century, in England. It started as a game involving kicking and handing, but later this branched off into two separate sports: rugby and football (which is what the English call soccer). Around...show more content... In addition to the field itself, all that is needed for a game is two goals (eight feet high and eight yards apart) and a ball. Each player wears hard plastic or padded shingaurd, covered by long socks, for protection during play. Cleats are also worn for traction on the field. A goalie may also wear a special padded shirt, and gloves to protect his or her hands. A standard field, as regulated by the Federation Internationale de Football Association (or FIFA), has a length between 100 and 130 yards, and a width of between 50 and 100 yards. The rules of play for soccer have deliberately been kept simple. The referee makes most of the decisions, and attempts to encourage fair play. The game starts off with a kick off, and the teams are allowed to pass, dribble, juggle, head, kick, and shoot the ball to place it down the field, and (hopefully, or eventually) into their opponent's goal. If the ball is kicked off the field over the length of the field, the other team is given a throw–in, where the ball is thrown over the player's head, and back onto the field. If the ball is kicked over the goal, or across the width of the field, either a corner kick results (by the offensive team, where the ball is placed on the corner of the field and kicked into play) or the defensive team is awarded a goal kick, where the ball is placed on the corner of the goal box, and kicked back into play. If a goal is scored, the ball is taken back to the center of Get more content on HelpWriting.net

The purpose of criticism is to encourage positive outcomes (what the giver wants). Ideally, it brings balance into our lives, provides us with a basis of comparison, and brings truth, honesty, and intimacy. Hopefully, it gives us honest feedback–a balance of praise and criticism. • 8. What is Good? Essay What is Good? Good, a word used by all, but most not truly knowing what the true concept of good actually is. What is good? Good, in my own understanding, entails an act or statement that is, not only morally and perceptively correct in the eyes of others, but also in one's own eyes. There is a sense of accomplishment; a sense of achievement felt when something good has been done. This feeling usually does not only pertain to the individual, but also to those around him who might have benefited in one way or another from his/her good deed or statement. It is important to note that morals only apply to individual action and consequence. Ethics, however, apply to the actions of two or more people. Ethics are meaningless unless...show more content... Good can be thought of as situations in which one is found to have more pleasure in his/her life due to the occurrence of that specific event. One can receive more pleasure in life by getting a new job. A new job would give someone money and the opportunity to do more things that would add pleasure to their life. An example of this in my life would be a job I just recently got in which I am now making more money than I was at my old job. With this job, I now have more money to do more things that will help to bring more pleasure in my life. I will never be able to do all things that I would like to do and this is where Plato's idea of good being unattainable is demonstrated. Something that is unachievable would seem to have different opinions based on different personal beliefs. There are the ethical and moral stands on each issue and oneself and the people around them determine this sense of good by acknowledging the ethical and moral standpoints and determining what is more important to them regarding their decision. If something makes you and the people around you happy, then what happened to cause this occurrence was good. For instance, scoring the game–winning touchdown in a football game is good because your whole team will be happy about that touchdown and about winning the game. Another instance of this would be talking to your best friend after he/she just heard some bad news and cheering them up is good. Get more content on HelpWriting.net
