Through generations of Andersons riding was a given, a family trait, however, riding was never
that important to me. I was taught to ride when I was just six years old and started competing when

The last day of my Early College High School (ECHS) 2017 year, was a day I will never forget. On

This past week, I have been going through a very helpful and insightful training to become a
Student Advisor, also known as a college RA. The training has consisted of myriad activities,
presentations, workshops, and discussions. One of the discussions we had was on the topic of
what defines a leader. So we sat in a group and gave characteristics of what we thought was a
leader and what we think the ideal leader should be. After thirty minutes or so of discussing, we
came up with at least a full page of characteristics we thought a leader should encompass. They
included traits like helping others grow, setting an example for others, and everything in between.

With the observations, the goal was to become aware of what is in store for the future both within
school and after graduation. First person observed was Sharon, a dental hygiene student at PIMA,
in her 5th semester. To begin her visit, Sharon ensured she had all the necessary paperwork and
