The world has changed, but marketing is still applying the principles I learned in business school. This needs to change and this presentation is an "open source" call to help achieve this change.
I have given it on April 23, 2009 in Helsinki at the F Word event. It is an unfinished piece of work in which we don't have all the answers either. So I invite you to join us at www.futurelab.net to help make it better.
Obama proved in 2008 that social networking and the Internet are key to winning an election campaign. Purple Forge builds on that by allowing supporters from mobile devices to share political information, and for candidates to poll and survey the public anytime, anywhere.

(ISM307) Migrating Fox's Media Supply Chains to the Cloud with AWSAmazon Web Services
The Fox Network Engineering and Operations group collects, prepares, and packages all incoming media for multiplatform distribution, and creates the substantial infrastructure that supports this distribution. In conjunction with SDVI Corporation, the group has created an AWS-resident resource management system to share media processing workloads across the group's existing facility, a private cloud, and AWS; to dynamically provision and scale resources as required; and to automate the entire flow of the group's media supply chain. Designed for anyone wanting to implement a public/private/hybrid supply chain and identify the benefits, this presentation will help you understand how this paradigm shift not only allowed Fox to migrate from a capital-intensive operation to an operational expenditure (OPEX) model, but also how it gives Fox the agility to spin up new services on demand to reach revenue sooner and match infrastructure spending directly to revenue generation.

Transmotion is a term I use to describe the seamless movement between the physical and the digital worlds. In this presentation I look at three components of transmotion, namely: transmedia, virtuality and augmented reality. Transmotion was part of a bigger presentation that argued brands must ensure that their “offline” and “online” offerings complement and not duplicate one another. Like all of my presentation a talking head is required in front of many of the slides. I have tried to minimize the lack of a presenter by adding brief notes to several slides. Hopefully, viewers of the presentation will understand the overall points being raised and arguments made.

This is the detailed Digital and Social Media Marketing PowerPoint deck I have shared with the LAMP @ AFTRS Social Media seminar attendees. It is a general summary of some of the strategic development I have done over the past 36-48 months across digital marketing, social influence marketing, digital PR, measurement and analytics etc. I have much more material (and of course knowledge) on each subject contained in this deck. This deck is meant to provide newcomers some insight and guidance into a global enterprise level digital marketing and social influence marketing approach. **Some slides are not converting properly so I have reverted to a .PDF file. Social Games: Why Brands and Publishers are Obsolete
Throughout game industry history, “Publishers” played an important role. Data gathering, market analysis, portfolio planning, IP aggregation, marketing, manufacturing, distribution, sales, and customer service were the Publisher’s value-add. Developers created the games, but publishers provided the scale to build big business.
With the rise of online game distribution the Publisher’s role diminished in importance. The social games ecosystem pushes it into obsolescence. There is no media to press, no boxes to ship. There are no “gold masters” to handoff. Game services require direct and immediate feedback & iteration loops between consumers and creatives. Facebook provides near-instant access to a captive global audience of hundreds of millions, and built-in contextual, targeted marketing mechanisms to effectively reach almost any audience within that huge constituency.
Other companies provide fully-featured tools for monetization, scalable ops, analytics, and customer acquisition. In short – the social game ecosystem enables and requires direct access to huge audiences and major-league tools. Who needs a Publisher anymore?

Platform failure! YouTube, Facebook & Co. go rogueBertram Gugel
Was läuft also schief auf YouTube, Facebook und Co.?

New Media, Old Money? Webvideo wird Mainstream.Bertram Gugel

Enterprise Excellence is Inclusive Excellence.pdfKaiNexus
Enterprise excellence and inclusive excellence are closely linked, and real-world challenges have shown that both are essential to the success of any organization. To achieve enterprise excellence, organizations must focus on improving their operations and processes while creating an inclusive environment that engages everyone. In this interactive session, the facilitator will highlight commonly established business practices and how they limit our ability to engage everyone every day. More importantly, though, participants will likely gain increased awareness of what we can do differently to maximize enterprise excellence through deliberate inclusion.
What is Enterprise Excellence?
Enterprise Excellence is a holistic approach that's aimed at achieving world-class performance across all aspects of the organization.
What might I learn?
A way to engage all in creating Inclusive Excellence. Lessons from the US military and their parallels to the story of Harry Potter. How belt systems and CI teams can destroy inclusive practices. How leadership language invites people to the party. There are three things leaders can do to engage everyone every day: maximizing psychological safety to create environments where folks learn, contribute, and challenge the status quo.
Who might benefit? Anyone and everyone leading folks from the shop floor to top floor.
