Haydn Farewell Symphony Essay
Since the early 19th century, Haydn, Mozart and Beethoven have been venerated as the first of the
three Viennese classics. Franz Joseph Haydn (1732 1809) was an Austrian composer who began his
career in the traditional patronage system of the late Austrian Baroque and ended as a free artist within
the burgeoning Romanticism of the early 19th century. He was one of the most celebrated composers
of his time and a culture hero throughout Europe. He is familiarly known as the father of the
symphony . Beethoven (1770 1827) was a German composer and a pupil of Haydn s. His early
achievements show him extending the Viennese classical tradition inherited from Haydn and Mozart
but his later work was composed in an increasingly individual musical style. ... Show more content on

As the father of the four movement form of the classical period, is was no surprise that his Farewell
Symphony included the Allegro assai, Adagio, menuet and trio, and the finale Presto movements. The
symphony has an unusual and complex tonal scheme, involving three different structural tonics, F
sharp minor, A major, and F sharp major; the double finale incorporates all three. The F sharp minor
projects something inherently unstable which demands, and receives resolution by the tonic major,
which is gradual, complex and a systematic change from instability to stability. This process involves
all aspects of the music including tonality, rhythm, form, instrumentation, dynamics and psychological
content. Beethoven also uses a four movement form but includes Allegro, Scherzo, Adagio and Presto
Allegro. The formal structure of the movements, while generally adhering to the Classical models,
charted new territory. The first movement, although in Classical sonata form, confounds listeners first
by rising to a fortissimo climax in the harmonically unstable exposition section and then by delaying a
return to the home key. The scherzo is placed as the second movement, rather than the customary
third, and the third movement is a mostly restful, almost prayerful adagio. The last movement builds
from a gentle beginning into a brazen finale, while recalling some of the themes from earlier
movements and once the Ode

Time is not a priority to them, because they are guaranteed a hefty pay check. So, in the middle of
constructions, workers stand around for more union breaks, socializing, at taxpayers expense. It is less
often that they actually work at a steady pace. One particular job has been left in half with more
destruction than construction. Long patches of indents are left along a stretch of main road, a must
travel route. As a result, vehicles alignments, as well as tires are damaged. So instead of struggling to
pay taxes only, now residents are faced with the burden of fixing their vehicle also. I propose that the
state use the same money to employ qualified, conscientious supervisors, who will get the job done.
During the last heavy snowfall of 27 inches, back streets weren t ploughed until two days after, and

My First Friend With My Best Friend
Personal Narrative
Here is a not so very brief timeline of how I became friends with my best friend, Madilynn Carbajal.
Madilynn, she also goes by madi, more commonly is my best friend, without a doubt. At first I m like,
woah, she s a basic white girl with a mexican last name. She is a white mexican, her mom is white,
and her dad is mexican. Ben, her dad is a really cool dude, Rochelle is too (but in lady form, not dude
form) Madi has a twin brother Mayson, and he s a bit of an idiot. Madi dances at Dr. Slaughters. Madi
is a very emotional person, and she cries a lot. And being friends with her I ve learned how to be a
better friend, how to comfort someone, and that s one thing I can never ever thank her enough for.
We met last year on the 2nd or 3rd day of school, and I thought she was a stuck up brat, and that is
actually somewhat true, she s just not stuck up, if you get what I m saying. I sat by her in history, and I
didn t have a pencil... On the 2nd day of school, I didn t have a pencil. So I asked her if I could borrow
a pencil. Hey Madi can I borrow a pencil
sure
That s actually horrible, but it s okay. She gave me a red pencil. I still have it. I forgot to give it back,
so I thought she hated me. She did. But not because of the pencil, it s because I m freakin loud, but
somehow we get along. Then we got seating arrangements, that we could sit wherever we wanted, so I
sat by her friend, our mutual friend, Lily. Lily and I would always yell at eachother

The Role Of Physical Environment, Price Perception And...
This chapter discusses the research literature review on the roles of physical environment, price
perception and service quality in determining customer loyalty. Chapter 2 will includes the headings:
the SERVQUAL model, the physical environment, price perception, what is customer satisfaction and
what is customer loyalty.
2.1 The SERVQUAL model. Delivering an excellent customer service that meets the customers need
allows the customer to come back and repurchase the products. In determining the customer service
quality, Parasuraman, Zeithaml, and Berry (1985) have comes out with ten components to evaluate
customer service quality: reliability, responsiveness, competence, access, courtesy, communication,
credibility, security, understanding/knowing the customer and tangibles. Later these ten key categories
were summaries to five dimensions of service quality which also known as SERVQUAL: reliability,
responsiveness, assurance, empathy and tangibles. According to Kulasin (2005), the definition of each
dimensions are as follow:
Dimensions
Definition
Reliability
The ability to perform the promised service dependably and accurately
Assurance
The knowledge and courtesy of employees and their ability to convey trust and confidence
Tangibles
The appearance of physical facilities, equipment, personnel and communication materials
Empathy
The provision of caring, individualized attention to customers
Responsiveness
The willingness to help customers and to provide prompt service

Retaining Staff through Talent Management
Retaining Staff through Talent Management
Introduction Retaining skilled or talented staff can be the basis of developing real competitive
advantage in your markets; it can also be a complete waste of management effort if your market
strategy is not based on the use of rare or scarce skills and is simply used as a mantra for progressive
HR or employee relations practices. The issue of talent management was first raised in the mid 90 s
(in its current form) through an article in the Harvard Business Review. The War for Talent framed a
competitive marketplace where those companies that could attract and retain the best talent would
eventually out perform their competitors. McKinsey Co, the strategy consulting ... Show more content

The Appropriate Court For This Lawsuit
The appropriate court for this lawsuit depends upon several factors. Three important considerations
include the following: Personal jurisdiction which allows courts to have jurisdiction over both the
plaintiff and defendant in a case. Specific to corporations, personal jurisdiction only applies in the
state in which the company does business, is incorporated and has it principle office. In Margolin s
suit, personal jurisdiction would not apply because although the company does business in the state of
New York, both Novelty Now and Funny Faces are not incorporated or have principle offices in this
state.
Subject matter jurisdiction allows a court the authority to only hear case that are in regards to a
specific topic. Although restrictive in its ability to hear cases based on the topic, subject matter
jurisdiction can specialize in a specific case type. Courts such as tax, federal claims and bankruptcy
are examples courts which have subject matter jurisdiction.
In reference to the case study, subject matter jurisdiction could possibly apply. Since Margolin suit
claims negligence on the parts of Novelty Now and Funny Faces for using PYR in their product the
case could be heard in a federal claims court. The violation of FDA regulations makes the case a
stronger candidate for this type of venue.
Minimum contact establishes an appropriateness for one state to assert its jurisdiction on a person or
business in another state. When evaluating the facts of the case presented, it

The Class Of Middle Class In Bangladesh
The Hardship of The Middle Class in Bangladesh
In any country, a society can be neatly divided into three main classes, mainly as per their financial
status. The top class is the rich class which is a class by itself, absolutely unmoved and untouched no
matter what happens to the economy of the country. This is because they can afford anything at any
cost. This class is usually synonymous with the business class whose income seems to increase with
every rise in prices. So, they are absolutely unconcerned with whatever happens to prices. The second
class to whom also rises in prices and any turn of economy make no difference. The second class of
society known as the middle class is the most important class of a society. This class comprises the
people who are neither rich nor poor. They are comfortably settled with all amenities but, they cannot
squander money on frivolities. This class stays busy in maintaining a standard as they are the white
collared gentry of the society.
Bangladeshi society can broadly be divided into three classes. On the top, there are the rich. They are
the people who have got everything in plenty. At the bottom there are the poor. They are ill fed and ill
clad. It is seldom seen that they have their own houses to live in. In between these two classes, we
have the middle class. The people belonging to this class are neither very rich nor very poor. They
have to maintain themselves outwardly in a fitting and decent manner. The middle class has gone

The Importance Of Western Classical Singing
Introduction
Western classical singing is aim at producing a good quality, clear, natural, relax, and overall loud
enough sound in singing. Vibrato is an important technique in good western classical and operatic
singing. The pitch of the notes quickly changing up and down makes vibrato. It is one of the important
means of musical performance. Like violin, Chinese erhu and other string instruments playing with
rubbing strings. Italian vocal school more likely to say: the key point to tell is it a good singing, is to
see whether there has vibrato or not. (Helen Mitchell, 2004)
Open throat is the way to achieve vibrato. The term open throat is describing the throat in a lack of
tension situation, then lack of constriction and a better ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The conclusions of the research
Researchers estimated that open throat strategy would create discernable contrasts in vocal quality and
this was affirmed by the perceptual investigation. Audiences were solid in their judgements and
reliably distinguished the strategy in rehashed tests. Singers vocal quality created discernable sound
quality contrasts in 85.3% of optimal and 80.0% of sub optimal tests, which audiences credited to the
educational guideline of open throat . This investigation affirmed teachers acknowledgment of a
central system in established singing beforehand characterised by master educators by a particular
sound quality. Facilitate investigation of the perceptual characteristics of this strategy is the subject of
progressing research by these authors.
Educational and perceptual investigations concur that substandard vibrato is easy to recognise and
shows deficient strategy or poor vocal quality. Regardless of whether decreased vibrato degree and
postponed vibrato beginning are outcomes of diminished open throat system particularly, or the
essential elements saw as open throat or without a doubt any procedure utilised as a part of good
singing needs promote examination. Vibrato alone does not really convey the acoustic signals of vocal
quality to audiences, yet perceptually, in this investigation, the best quality was related with open
throat method.

What Is The Impact Of Industrialization In The Late 19th...
Industrialization was an era where nearly everything about the United States was changing drastically.
While businesses were being founded and built up, there are also many results of these changes. In the
late nineteenth century, crucial societal effects brought on by industrialization were characterized by
the coinage of monopolies and the creation of labor unions. During the gilded age, it was a corporation
s main ambition to obtain a monopoly on their goods or services. In order to attain such a thing,
majorly successful companies would make their product seem irresistible. These companies could
offer significantly lower prices and appeal to a nationwide economy, unlike than their smaller
competitors. This resulted in the shutting down of many local or family owned businesses. These huge
corporations also paired with other large businesses to ensure their monopoly on the ... Show more

Products during the end of this time period cost much less, meaning that workers were receiving less
income, but still needing the same amount to meet their most basic needs. Because of this, nearly
every member of a family was working long hours in factories with unsafe conditions for low wages
just to stay afloat. There was nothing that anyone could really do to object or change the system;
working class families fell into a monotonous loop of near misery. The people felt hopeless and as
though they had no voice. Eventually, labor unions were founded to try to combat these injustices and
provide a sufficient, stable pay in healthier work environments with limits on the hours they could
work. Child labor was also outlawed at one point, after a series of very strict laws pertaining to it.

The War Never Changes Of Bethesda s Hit Game Franchise...
War. War never changes. These are the iconic opening lines of Bethesda s hit game franchise Fallout,
but are they accurate? War has expanded into a new electronic frontier, where the soldiers are hackers
and the targets are anything with wires. To understand this new kind of war, we must analyze what it
is, who has this power, and how they can use it. Cyberwarfare has the potential to do to global politics
what nuclear warfare did half a century ago. To begin with, it is essential to understand what cyberwar
is. Cyber essentially refers to anything electronic or internet based. A cyber attack is when one entity
hacks into the resources of another entity. This resource could be almost anything an email inbox, a
bank account, a stoplight, a factory, a power grid, or even a nuclear device. Cyberwarfare is to cyber
attacks as nuclear war is to nuclear missiles; an exchange between two nations in an attempt for one to
damage another. Cyber attacks come in two main forms: espionage and sabotage. In an espionage
operation, the objective is to gain intelligence on strategic resources. For example, imagine a country
hacking into a communication network to survey enemy troop movements or electronically stealing
the blueprints for a missile. The other kind, sabotage, is much more direct. In this case, the objective is
to either take control over or destroy an asset. This can range from something as basic as shutting
down a website to something as massive and destructive as

Phishing Is A Social Engineering Luring Technique
Phishing is a social engineering luring technique, in which an attacker aims to steal sensitive
information such as credit card information and online banking passwords from users. Phishing is
carried over electronic communications such as email or instant messaging. In this technique, a replica
of the legitimate sites is created, and the users are directed to the Phishing pages where it s required
for the personal information.
As phishing remains a significant criminal activity that causes great loss of money and personal data.
In respond to these threats, a variety of Anti Phishing tools was released by software vendors and
companies. The Phishing detection technique used by industries mainly includes attack tracing, report
generating filtering, analysing, authentication, report making and network law enforcement. The
toolbars like spoof guard, trust watch, spoof stick and Net craft are some of the most popular Anti
Phishing toolbars services that are used. The W3C has set some standards that are followed by most of
the legit websites, but the phishing site may not develop these standards. There are certain
characteristics of URL and source code of the Phishing site based on which we can guess the fake site.

Nuclear Weapons and Their Linkage with Physics
Nuclear Weapons and their Linkage with Physics
The functioning of nuclear weapons requires understanding the underlying physics beginning with the
structure of the atom. The nucleus of the atom consists of electrically neutral particles called neutrons
and positively charged particles called protons. The no. of protons equals the no. of electrons
rendering the atom electrically neutral. The nucleus of the radioactive particle U 235 has 92 protons
and 143 neutrons and heavier atoms have larger excess of neutron over protons compared to lighter
ones. The protons and neutrons in the nuclei are composed together through powerful nuclear forces
that are stronger compared to any other force which act between them like gravity. Atoms are bound
together to form molecules. These atoms are composed together by chemical bonding that form due to
the manner in which electrons rearrange themselves within the molecule. This binding energy of a
nucleus is almost million times higher than this energy. (Philips, 2012)
Nuclear reactions happen when there is a rearrangement of the neutrons and protons of the reacting
nuclei to form the product nuclei. When the bonding energy of the reactants is less compared to the
binding energy of the products, the excess energy is thus released in the form of radiation. As the
bonding energy of nuclei is nearly a million times greater compared to the energy consumed by a
chemical bond, the energy released in nuclear reactions corresponds to about a

A Brief Look Into The Evolution Of The From Atomic Theory
A Brief Look into the Evolution of DFT from Atomic Theory
Quantum Theory
The idea of atom existed as early as the Greek and Indian civilizations but more as a philosophical
thought rather than a well defined theory based on empirical evidence. Atom was assumed as
something that is indestructible and the smallest component that makes up matter. It took almost 2000
years for the development of modern day atomic theory with proof for the existence of atoms and
further subatomic particles. The archaeological classification of human history as stone age, bronze
age and iron age better depicts the evolution of macroscopic chemistry first. Much later through the
fundamental studies in electromagnetism and blackbody radiation, the discovery and ... Show more

In 1923 De Broglie described the movement of electrons as a wave with an associated wavelength (λ)
related as λ = h/p, where p is the momentum and h is Planck s constant. This hypothesis was
confirmed in experiments and Stern later generalized this behavior to all microscopic particles.
The contradictory nature of wave particle duality, the concept of a non localized wave versus a
localized particle, posed a problem in simultaneous description of position and momentum which was
theorized by Heisenberg in his uncertainty principle. This necessitated a new theory to describe the
non deterministic nature of atomic particles. Erwin Schrodinger in 1926 postulated the concept of a
wave function Ψ(x, t), the state of a system which is a function of particle coordinates, and its change
with time. Max Born dissected wave function and presented |Ψ(x, t)2|dx as the probability of finding a
particle at time t in the region between x and x+dx. Born along with Oppenheimer later proposed a
modification to the wave function separating the nuclear motion from electron motion due to the large
difference in masses. Time independent, non relativistic Schrodinger equation is an eigen value
problem and the solution to the Schrodinger s Equation gives us the wave function. For atoms of
higher atomic number, it becomes cumbersome to solve this equation, how it is handled we will
discuss shortly. Paul Dirac and Linus Pauling contributed more to the development of fundamental

Analysis Of The Movie Anacostia Flats By John Dos Passos
One might say that the Great Depression was a time of despair and feeling vulnerable from those who
lived through it. However, writings have shown that some Americans during this era did not give up
and had an optimistic view as opposed to a pessimistic view. In Anacostia Flats by John Dos Passos, it
shows that the ex service men during the Great Depression had a sense of determination for getting
their bonus. The film 42nd Street demonstrated the tenacious spirit of Americans who worked on a
play during The Great Depression. Meridel Le Seur s Women in the Breadlines depicted the reality of
struggling without employment but having the will to keep trying. During these times, society had not

The theme for 42nd Street could be keep on keeping on as practice does make perfect. It was a time
for when many gave it their all and they never gave up on executing the play. Every single person was
in sync with the music and routines once the performance rolled around. While watching the film, one
would be admired by how determined the people were. Peggy Sawyer, one of the main characters, had
to brave her way as the new lead (while Dorothy the main lead became injured) as she did not want to
let any of her coworkers down. Luckily, she knew every dance move and line to portray her new part.
Otherwise, production would have stopped if there was no lead. Several people would lose their jobs
and everything would have been all for nothing.
Thus, the play became a success after Peggy braved her way as the new lead. Peggy depicted a person
from the Great Depression as having a sense of enthusiasm. America s working people did not resign
to the quarrels of money being an issue. Characters like Peggy showed grace and talent with no sense
of sadness. Her exuberance helped her shine as she performed. During hard times production of plays
were still being made as all the staff of 42nd Street went to work. Julian Marsh also had a rough time
being ill while directing the play. He had money issues as well but continued to produce the play while
in poor health. Characters like Julian portrayed the hard working class of Americans during the Great
Depression who struggled. His

Kyle Seager and Mark Trumbo, they didn t have much offensive output either. Thankfully for
Mariners faithful though, both Seager and Trumbo finished the night 4 for 4 with a home run. Other
than that, Robinson Cano was the only other Mariner to register a hit. This result was absolutely
shocking for the Rangers considering the fact that they played so well the past two nights. With the
Rangers sitting just a game back, I thought you would see them coming out gunning. I don t know if it
was the lack of attendance that made it feel like a Spring Training game, (just 14,330 people, and that
is being generous) but for what ever reason the Rangers played like the team out of the playoff hunt

and because of that asked Paul to raise the funds for the parade she wanted to conduct. The split was
based on tactics. The NAWSA led by Carrie Chapman Catt wanted a state by state approach while
Alice Paul, who led NWP had more aggressive techniques. Picketing the white house was considered

Social Media And Its Effect On Self Image
Would you consider yourself an important person? The majority of young people in today s society
would say that they indeed are important, as opposed to the very few numbers of people who felt this
way in the 1950 s, according to Jean Twenge in her book Generation Me. Debora Lima agrees with
Twenge and suggests that this is caused by social media in her article Social media plays large part in
self image. Cathy Payne also agrees as she explains the inflation of cosmetic surgeries in her article
Botox or your bills? Plastic surgery wins out. Twenge, Payne, and Lima all agree that there is a change
in self image in today s young society, yet they all argue different sub points on this subject. Overall,
there has been a noticeable change in self image.
In chapter 2 An Army of One: Me of Generation Me, Jean Twenge discusses self image. First, she
explains how Gen Me ers are focused on the self and how their self esteem is much higher than Baby
Boomers . The author reports how children are encouraged to focus on themselves. This sometimes
creates narcissism instead, declares the author. Another thing brought up is how teachers are beginning
to not criticize students because it may damage their self esteem. To conclude, Twenge argues how
Gen Me ers have a positive self image, but this may not be a good thing (Twenge 44 71).
While discussing the change in self image, Twenge s target audience is comprised of Gen Me ers and
Baby Boomers. Both of these groups would

Essay On Women s Suffrage Movement
Since the early times, women were pictured as intellectually inferior to men but also a major source of
temptation and evil as well as the weaker sex (WIC). For example, Pandora, in Greek mythology, was
a woman who opened a forbidden box which then unleashed sin, plagues, and unhappiness into the
world. In the early 19th century, women were only allowed to work in factories or, otherwise, stayed
at home and did domestic work; the only professions that was acceptable for them to do was to
become a teacher or a writer. In the 1920 s, women gained the right to vote. Throughout history, there
has been many issues between the male and female genders, most significantly with the female
gender, but, the rights of women have soared since the early times of history. Women have had fewer
legal rights and career opportunities throughout history. Their most significant professions were

Hip Hop, AAnd Creative Aspect Of Music
Breaking through in the heart of the Bronx, Hip Hop was designed to empower and teach the youth,
while providing them an outlet for creative expression. Developed on five essential pillars, all working
towards: giving African Americans knowledge that they didn t have access to, inspiring them to read
and acquire true knowledge of self, and to understand the role that self has in America in relation to
the actual worth of self. Since the inception of Hip Hop, the genre has evolved through the times while
transcending new depths aligned with its original pillars.
An innovator in a sense, DJ Kool Herc founded Hip Hop by the early 70 s. MC s, DJ s, breakdancing,
graffiti and music encompass the five pillars of Hip Hop. Modern inversions interpret these pillars in
many different ways. Prevalent through all major cities, graffiti evolved to the murals on the side of
buildings, and the creative aspect of music videos. Artists have visions interpreted in the way they
decide to imagine their visuals. Breakdancing has become the advance dance crazes that sweep the
nations. People in Japan are hitting the Nae Nae because of Hip Hop s mass globalization. MC s are

Precedent
Introduction
For this discussion, this learner will explicate the importance of precedent within our common law and
the accompanying concepts of stare decisis and distinguishing cases. Then this learner will provide an
example of a U.S. Supreme Court case that was decided in light of one of these concepts. Draw a
distinction between reliable and questionable sources on the Internet.
Precedent
What does precedent mean in regards to common law? It means that if there is a case that was
previously decided on that has established a principle or rule that could be used by a judicial when
deciding cases that tend to be very similar in issues or facts. So, how many different doctrine of
precedent are there? Well, there are two basic ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Therefore, the persuasive precedent takes place when a court interprets a law and regards the decision
as non obligatory, and characteristically arises when a court, from another jurisdiction, delivers a
verdict that is subsequently observed by another court in a different jurisdiction ( Understanding
Precedent , n.d., para. 5). For example, a South Carolina court s interpretation of a particular law is not
binding in a North Carolina court; nonetheless, the ruling on a specific matter can be viewed and act
as a persuasive precedent.
Stare Decisis This learner believes that ever law or legal precedent was created to help the US
maintain control and render punishment when individuals choice to break the law. So, what does stare
decisis mean? Well, the term Stare decisis means to stand by decided matters , and itself an
abbreviation of the Latin phrase stare decisis et non quieta movere which translates as to stand by
decisions and not to disturb settled matters (Perell, n.d., para. 2). Fundamentally, with this doctrine, it
allows the verdict of an upper court within the same provincial jurisdiction acts as binding authority
on a lower court within that same jurisdiction, and the decision of a court of another jurisdiction only
can act as persuasive authority (Gall, n.d., para. 3). To this learner, it would seem that the degree of an

Superiority of Races in Babbit
Hatred, intolerance, prejudice, and narrow mindedness are all terms that can be applied when
describing someone who is a bigot. By these terms George F. Babbitt, the protagonist in Sinclair
Lewis Babbitt, and many of his acquaintances are quite the bigots toward all those that appear
different than he is especially immigrants and minorities in America. The blame should not be placed
squarely on these men s shoulders for possessing such hate filled beliefs, but their opinion of the
matter is generated from the accepted notion, which had been approved of and passed down through
the generations, that immigrants and minorities are far less superior than the native white men who

In his lecture of the news, he went and to say on how the US should step in and kick those Bolshevik
cusses out indicating that the Russians are not sophisticated enough to handle their own problems and

Babbitt, while never admitting to it, has views that the white race is far superior to any other in the US
and probably the world for that matter.
Babbitt often expressed his ideas of bigotry to the reader while thinking to himself, but there was one
instance in which the silence could no longer be kept and some newly acquired friends of his shared
their thoughts, which Babbitt himself could most definitely have held to be true. This occurred on
Babbitt s train ride to Maine for his vacation with Paul Riesling away from all the distractions of city
life. On this ride Babbitt met some new colleagues and they were having a great time discussing
business matters and politics. While conversing, a young African American porter comes in and in a
very polite way interrupts their conversation to give them information that they were in need of

The main assertion of the Van brunt s article is that Dickens tries to redefine the gender roles of the
Victorian era, but he still describes his characters in their respective gendered spheres. The portrayal
of gender roles throughout Great Expectations undermines the Victorian era indoctrinated gender roles
(Alexa Van brunt). Van brunt argues that as Dickens twists the roles of motherhood and femininity to
produce warped relationships that mar pitiful Pip s life. The early Victorian era is remembered as an
era of strict archetypes for each gender. Women were often confined to the home and were
characterized by nurturing, emphatic, submissive attributes.

Reflection On The Studyament Of The Old Testament
This class has meant much to me, it has given me many things that I will not only carry with me
throughout the rest of my life but also throughout the rest of my ministry. I will not only have the
ability to use the knowledge gained in this class to enrich my own life and Biblical knowledge but also
be able to enrich others lives and lead them to better understanding and application of Biblical
principles relating to the Old Testament. One thing that I took away from this class is that the Old
Testament is more relevant in our lives than we often give it credit for, Job for example, being able to
dive more deeply into his story we are able to see themes and emotions that deeply effect the ways in
which we ourselves need to know and understand questions such as Is God as just God, or is God
unjust? We often can unknowingly in modern times ask the same questions and have the same debate
with other believers without ever actually stopping to realize the similarity and actual Biblical answers
to such questions within the realm of the Old Testament. Furthermore, principles like understanding
origins and original meaning of words of the Old Testament can play similarly into our lives and even
ministry in the sense of fully being able to understand the true context and even meaning of scripture
and passages of scripture at times. An example of this is in knowing that (for instance) Judges within
the Old Testament were not simply like the modern day judge that we know today,

Cognitive Theory Of Flashbulb Memory
Cognitive level of analysis aimed to study how cognitive process guide behaviour, as such, emotion
has been concerned with its cognitive influence with this level of analysis. The theory of Flashbulb
Memory is one theory of how emotion may have impact on cognitive process of memory.
The theory of flashbulb memory was suggested by Brown and Kulik. Flashbulb memory is a special
kind of emotional memory, which refers to vivid and detailed memories of highly emotional events
that paper in the brain as though with the help of a camera s flash. Flashbulb memory can be defined
as a highly accurate and exceptionally vivid memory of a moment. The theory of flashbulb memory
therefore distinguished flashbulb memories from the normal memories, as the flashbulb memories are
more vivid, detailed, accurate, long lasting and easily to remember, whereas the normal memories are
believed to be mostly unreliable and easily distorted. Brown and Kulik also suggested that, there may
be a special neural mechanism in the brain which triggers an emotional arousal because that event is
unexpected or extremely important.
This essay is aiming to evaluate the theory of flashbulb memory by using studies that support this
theory and studies that oppose this theory so that the validity of the theory can be revealed.
The flashbulb memory was firstly demonstrated in Brown and Kulik s study in 1977. Their study has
been a supporting evidence for the theory of flashbulb memory.
The aim of their study was to investigate flashbulb memory. Eighty Americans were interviewed, forty
of them were African Americans and the other forty of them were Caucasian American. They had to
answer ten questions about ten events and nine of the events were mostly on assassination of well
known Americans, the last one question was self selected of personal events that included self shock).
Then they were asked how much they have rehearsed the events overtly and covertly. Overt rehearse
means discussing the event with others, covert rehearse means private rehearsal. The result showed
that J. F. Kennedy s assassination in 1963 was remembered most vividly among the participants. It
also showed that African Americans has more flashbulb memories of civil right

The Pros And Cons Of Portfolio Theory
During the interviews, it was understood that Portfolio Theory is difficult to apply to loaning
administration. A bank is required to have a flexible credit evaluating process to capture the
individuality of each loan. These differences depend on the size of the loan and the different clients
risks. This makes it difficult to apply loan portfolio diversification compared to a portfolio of bonds or
stocks. Nevertheless, more than the fixed principles banks seem to follow the intuition behind it not to
expose themselves more than a limit.
The banks seem to assume that a well diversified loan portfolio will happen on its own as long as it

Though, when Pi mentions the blind Frenchman, it could be that Pi has imagined the cook, since He

tried to kill Pi, could also be portrayed as evil like the cook; which could have been one of the reasons
Pi had killed this man. Now, Pi is living the memory of the guilt that he has for killing and possibly
eating a human being, even if he had killed to revenge his mother. The blind Frenchman admits to Pi
that he had killed two people, one man and one woman. These two people could have been the sailor
that was on the boat as well as Pi s mother. If Pi did kill and eat the blind Frenchman/cook when he
was blind it could be that he could not bear to watch the terror and fully admit to what he had done.
Though director Ang Lee, does not add this scene into the movie, possibly due to the fact Pi was blind

  • 2. Haydn Farewell Symphony Essay Since the early 19th century, Haydn, Mozart and Beethoven have been venerated as the first of the three Viennese classics. Franz Joseph Haydn (1732 1809) was an Austrian composer who began his career in the traditional patronage system of the late Austrian Baroque and ended as a free artist within the burgeoning Romanticism of the early 19th century. He was one of the most celebrated composers of his time and a culture hero throughout Europe. He is familiarly known as the father of the symphony . Beethoven (1770 1827) was a German composer and a pupil of Haydn s. His early achievements show him extending the Viennese classical tradition inherited from Haydn and Mozart but his later work was composed in an increasingly individual musical style. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As the father of the four movement form of the classical period, is was no surprise that his Farewell Symphony included the Allegro assai, Adagio, menuet and trio, and the finale Presto movements. The symphony has an unusual and complex tonal scheme, involving three different structural tonics, F sharp minor, A major, and F sharp major; the double finale incorporates all three. The scherzo is placed as the second movement, rather than the customary third, and the third movement is a mostly restful, almost prayerful adagio. The last movement builds from a gentle beginning into a brazen finale, while recalling some of the themes from earlier movements and once the Ode ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Money paid in taxes are supposed to be used to deliver taxpayers (residents) highest priorities. In Pennsylvania, 25% percent is spent on K 12 Education, Medicaid and Children s Health Insurance Program 16%, Higher Education 13%, Transportation 5%, Public Assistance 1%, Corrections 4% and all others 35%.( ) There has been a proposal to raise county property tax by 40% for 2016, fortunately it was approved for 32%. For every $100,000, tax would be increased by . ( ) It is clearly unfair for citizens to be paying an exorbitant amount of taxes so that improvement can be made in their state and community, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Time is not a priority to them, because they are guaranteed a hefty pay check. So, in the middle of constructions, workers stand around for more union breaks, socializing, at taxpayers expense. It is less often that they actually work at a steady pace. One particular job has been left in half with more destruction than construction. Long patches of indents are left along a stretch of main road, a must travel route. As a result, vehicles alignments, as well as tires are damaged. So instead of struggling to pay taxes only, now residents are faced with the burden of fixing their vehicle also. I propose that the state use the same money to employ qualified, conscientious supervisors, who will get the job done. During the last heavy snowfall of 27 inches, back streets weren t ploughed until two days after, and main roads in residential areas were cleared for traffic only. Snow was shoved on the side of roads where residents are usually park. How is this in the interest of resident s highest priority? I propose that the county use the same funds to obtain machinery to pick up and dump snow of that large amount with enough to get it done within a day, since we usually get one snow day. Next issue is increased budget to manage overcrowded prisons. The law needs to be reviewed as to why prisons are overcrowded? • 6. My First Friend With My Best Friend Personal Narrative Here is a not so very brief timeline of how I became friends with my best friend, Madilynn Carbajal. Madilynn, she also goes by madi, more commonly is my best friend, without a doubt. At first I m like, woah, she s a basic white girl with a mexican last name. She is a white mexican, her mom is white, and her dad is mexican. Ben, her dad is a really cool dude, Rochelle is too (but in lady form, not dude form) Madi has a twin brother Mayson, and he s a bit of an idiot. Madi dances at Dr. Slaughters. Madi is a very emotional person, and she cries a lot. And being friends with her I ve learned how to be a better friend, how to comfort someone, and that s one thing I can never ever thank her enough for. We met last year on the 2nd or 3rd day of school, and I thought she was a stuck up brat, and that is actually somewhat true, she s just not stuck up, if you get what I m saying. I sat by her in history, and I didn t have a pencil... On the 2nd day of school, I didn t have a pencil. So I asked her if I could borrow a pencil. Hey Madi can I borrow a pencil sure That s actually horrible, but it s okay. She gave me a red pencil. I still have it. I forgot to give it back, so I thought she hated me. She did. But not because of the pencil, it s because I m freakin loud, but somehow we get along. Then we got seating arrangements, that we could sit wherever we wanted, so I sat by her friend, our mutual friend, Lily. Lily and I would always yell at eachother ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This chapter discusses the research literature review on the roles of physical environment, price perception and service quality in determining customer loyalty. Chapter 2 will includes the headings: the SERVQUAL model, the physical environment, price perception, what is customer satisfaction and what is customer loyalty. 2.1 The SERVQUAL model. Delivering an excellent customer service that meets the customers need allows the customer to come back and repurchase the products. In determining the customer service quality, Parasuraman, Zeithaml, and Berry (1985) have comes out with ten components to evaluate customer service quality: reliability, responsiveness, competence, access, courtesy, communication, credibility, security, understanding/knowing the customer and tangibles. Later these ten key categories were summaries to five dimensions of service quality which also known as SERVQUAL: reliability, responsiveness, assurance, empathy and tangibles. According to Kulasin (2005), the definition of each dimensions are as follow: Dimensions Definition Reliability The ability to perform the promised service dependably and accurately Assurance The knowledge and courtesy of employees and their ability to convey trust and confidence Tangibles The appearance of physical facilities, equipment, personnel and communication materials Empathy The provision of caring, individualized attention to customers Responsiveness The willingness to help customers and to provide prompt service ... The issue of talent management was first raised in the mid 90 s (in its current form) through an article in the Harvard Business Review. • 9. The Appropriate Court For This Lawsuit The appropriate court for this lawsuit depends upon several factors. Three important considerations include the following: Personal jurisdiction which allows courts to have jurisdiction over both the plaintiff and defendant in a case. Specific to corporations, personal jurisdiction only applies in the state in which the company does business, is incorporated and has it principle office. In Margolin s suit, personal jurisdiction would not apply because although the company does business in the state of New York, both Novelty Now and Funny Faces are not incorporated or have principle offices in this state. Subject matter jurisdiction allows a court the authority to only hear case that are in regards to a specific topic. Although restrictive in its ability to hear cases based on the topic, subject matter jurisdiction can specialize in a specific case type. Courts such as tax, federal claims and bankruptcy are examples courts which have subject matter jurisdiction. In reference to the case study, subject matter jurisdiction could possibly apply. Since Margolin suit claims negligence on the parts of Novelty Now and Funny Faces for using PYR in their product the case could be heard in a federal claims court. The violation of FDA regulations makes the case a stronger candidate for this type of venue. • 10. The Class Of Middle Class In Bangladesh The Hardship of The Middle Class in Bangladesh In any country, a society can be neatly divided into three main classes, mainly as per their financial status. The top class is the rich class which is a class by itself, absolutely unmoved and untouched no matter what happens to the economy of the country. This is because they can afford anything at any cost. This class is usually synonymous with the business class whose income seems to increase with every rise in prices. So, they are absolutely unconcerned with whatever happens to prices. The second class to whom also rises in prices and any turn of economy make no difference. The second class of society known as the middle class is the most important class of a society. This class comprises the people who are neither rich nor poor. They are comfortably settled with all amenities but, they cannot squander money on frivolities. This class stays busy in maintaining a standard as they are the white collared gentry of the society. Bangladeshi society can broadly be divided into three classes. On the top, there are the rich. They are the people who have got everything in plenty. At the bottom there are the poor. They are ill fed and ill clad. It is seldom seen that they have their own houses to live in. In between these two classes, we have the middle class. While businesses were being founded and built up, there are also many results of these changes. In the late nineteenth century, crucial societal effects brought on by industrialization were characterized by the coinage of monopolies and the creation of labor unions. During the gilded age, it was a corporation s main ambition to obtain a monopoly on their goods or services. In order to attain such a thing, majorly successful companies would make their product seem irresistible. War has expanded into a new electronic frontier, where the soldiers are hackers and the targets are anything with wires. To understand this new kind of war, we must analyze what it is, who has this power, and how they can use it. Cyberwarfare has the potential to do to global politics what nuclear warfare did half a century ago. To begin with, it is essential to understand what cyberwar is. Cyber essentially refers to anything electronic or internet based. A cyber attack is when one entity hacks into the resources of another entity. This resource could be almost anything an email inbox, a bank account, a stoplight, a factory, a power grid, or even a nuclear device. Cyberwarfare is to cyber attacks as nuclear war is to nuclear missiles; an exchange between two nations in an attempt for one to damage another. Cyber attacks come in two main forms: espionage and sabotage. In an espionage operation, the objective is to gain intelligence on strategic resources. For example, imagine a country hacking into a communication network to survey enemy troop movements or electronically stealing the blueprints for a missile. The other kind, sabotage, is much more direct. In this case, the objective is to either take control over or destroy an asset. This can range from something as basic as shutting down a website to something as massive and destructive as ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 15. Nuclear Weapons and Their Linkage with Physics Nuclear Weapons and their Linkage with Physics The functioning of nuclear weapons requires understanding the underlying physics beginning with the structure of the atom. The nucleus of the atom consists of electrically neutral particles called neutrons and positively charged particles called protons. The no. of protons equals the no. of electrons rendering the atom electrically neutral. The nucleus of the radioactive particle U 235 has 92 protons and 143 neutrons and heavier atoms have larger excess of neutron over protons compared to lighter ones. The protons and neutrons in the nuclei are composed together through powerful nuclear forces that are stronger compared to any other force which act between them like gravity. Atoms are bound together to form molecules. These atoms are composed together by chemical bonding that form due to the manner in which electrons rearrange themselves within the molecule. This binding energy of a nucleus is almost million times higher than this energy. (Philips, 2012) Nuclear reactions happen when there is a rearrangement of the neutrons and protons of the reacting nuclei to form the product nuclei. When the bonding energy of the reactants is less compared to the binding energy of the products, the excess energy is thus released in the form of radiation. As the bonding energy of nuclei is nearly a million times greater compared to the energy consumed by a chemical bond, the energy released in nuclear reactions corresponds to about a ... It took almost 2000 years for the development of modern day atomic theory with proof for the existence of atoms and further subatomic particles. In 1923 De Broglie described the movement of electrons as a wave with an associated wavelength (λ) related as λ = h/p, where p is the momentum and h is Planck s constant. This hypothesis was confirmed in experiments and Stern later generalized this behavior to all microscopic particles. The contradictory nature of wave particle duality, the concept of a non localized wave versus a localized particle, posed a problem in simultaneous description of position and momentum which was theorized by Heisenberg in his uncertainty principle. This necessitated a new theory to describe the non deterministic nature of atomic particles. Erwin Schrodinger in 1926 postulated the concept of a wave function Ψ(x, t), the state of a system which is a function of particle coordinates, and its change with time. Max Born dissected wave function and presented |Ψ(x, t)2|dx as the probability of finding a particle at time t in the region between x and x+dx. Born along with Oppenheimer later proposed a modification to the wave function separating the nuclear motion from electron motion due to the large difference in masses. Time independent, non relativistic Schrodinger equation is an eigen value problem and the solution to the Schrodinger s Equation gives us the wave function. For atoms of higher atomic number, it becomes cumbersome to solve this equation, how it is handled we will discuss shortly. Therefore, the persuasive precedent takes place when a court interprets a law and regards the decision as non obligatory, and characteristically arises when a court, from another jurisdiction, delivers a verdict that is subsequently observed by another court in a different jurisdiction ( Understanding Precedent , n.d., para. 5). For example, a South Carolina court s interpretation of a particular law is not binding in a North Carolina court; nonetheless, the ruling on a specific matter can be viewed and act as a persuasive precedent. Stare Decisis This learner believes that ever law or legal precedent was created to help the US maintain control and render punishment when individuals choice to break the law. So, what does stare decisis mean? Well, the term Stare decisis means to stand by decided matters , and itself an abbreviation of the Latin phrase stare decisis et non quieta movere which translates as to stand by decisions and not to disturb settled matters (Perell, n.d., para. 2). Superiority of Races in Babbit Hatred, intolerance, prejudice, and narrow mindedness are all terms that can be applied when describing someone who is a bigot. By these terms George F. Babbitt, the protagonist in Sinclair Lewis Babbitt, and many of his acquaintances are quite the bigots toward all those that appear different than he is especially immigrants and minorities in America. The blame should not be placed squarely on these men s shoulders for possessing such hate filled beliefs, but their opinion of the matter is generated from the accepted notion, which had been approved of and passed down through the generations, that immigrants and minorities are far less superior than the native white men who have ... This incident with the newspaper exemplifies the fact that Babbitt, while never admitting to it, has views that the white race is far superior to any other in the US and probably the world for that matter. Babbitt often expressed his ideas of bigotry to the reader while thinking to himself, but there was one instance in which the silence could no longer be kept and some newly acquired friends of his shared their thoughts, which Babbitt himself could most definitely have held to be true. This occurred on Babbitt s train ride to Maine for his vacation with Paul Riesling away from all the distractions of city life. On this ride Babbitt met some new colleagues and they were having a great time discussing business matters and politics. • 31. Reflection On The Studyament Of The Old Testament This class has meant much to me, it has given me many things that I will not only carry with me throughout the rest of my life but also throughout the rest of my ministry. I will not only have the ability to use the knowledge gained in this class to enrich my own life and Biblical knowledge but also be able to enrich others lives and lead them to better understanding and application of Biblical principles relating to the Old Testament. One thing that I took away from this class is that the Old Testament is more relevant in our lives than we often give it credit for, Job for example, being able to dive more deeply into his story we are able to see themes and emotions that deeply effect the ways in which we ourselves need to know and understand questions such as Is God as just God, or is God unjust? We often can unknowingly in modern times ask the same questions and have the same debate with other believers without ever actually stopping to realize the similarity and actual Biblical answers to such questions within the realm of the Old Testament. Furthermore, principles like understanding origins and original meaning of words of the Old Testament can play similarly into our lives and even ministry in the sense of fully being able to understand the true context and even meaning of scripture and passages of scripture at times. An example of this is in knowing that (for instance) Judges within the Old Testament were not simply like the modern day judge that we know today, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 37. Cognitive Theory Of Flashbulb Memory Cognitive level of analysis aimed to study how cognitive process guide behaviour, as such, emotion has been concerned with its cognitive influence with this level of analysis. The theory of Flashbulb Memory is one theory of how emotion may have impact on cognitive process of memory. The theory of flashbulb memory was suggested by Brown and Kulik. Flashbulb memory is a special kind of emotional memory, which refers to vivid and detailed memories of highly emotional events that paper in the brain as though with the help of a camera s flash. Flashbulb memory can be defined as a highly accurate and exceptionally vivid memory of a moment. The theory of flashbulb memory therefore distinguished flashbulb memories from the normal memories, as the flashbulb memories are more vivid, detailed, accurate, long lasting and easily to remember, whereas the normal memories are believed to be mostly unreliable and easily distorted. Brown and Kulik also suggested that, there may be a special neural mechanism in the brain which triggers an emotional arousal because that event is unexpected or extremely important. This essay is aiming to evaluate the theory of flashbulb memory by using studies that support this theory and studies that oppose this theory so that the validity of the theory can be revealed. The flashbulb memory was firstly demonstrated in Brown and Kulik s study in 1977. Their study has been a supporting evidence for the theory of flashbulb memory. The aim of their study was to investigate flashbulb memory. Eighty Americans were interviewed, forty of them were African Americans and the other forty of them were Caucasian American. They had to answer ten questions about ten events and nine of the events were mostly on assassination of well known Americans, the last one question was self selected of personal events that included self shock). Then they were asked how much they have rehearsed the events overtly and covertly. Overt rehearse means discussing the event with others, covert rehearse means private rehearsal. The result showed that J. F. Kennedy s assassination in 1963 was remembered most vividly among the participants. It also showed that African Americans has more flashbulb memories of civil right ... This makes it difficult to apply loan portfolio diversification compared to a portfolio of bonds or stocks. Nevertheless, more than the fixed principles banks seem to follow the intuition behind it not to expose themselves more than a limit. The banks seem to assume that a well diversified loan portfolio will happen on its own as long as it covers the strategically important regions. Piscine Molitor Patel, otherwise known as Pi , accompanies his family in moving to Canada from India, though the ship sinks and he then tells his journey twice. Pi told his journey in two versions, an animal version, and a human version. In both versions Pi is accompanied with a zebra or a sailor, a hyena or a cook, an orangutan or his own mother, and himself partially known as a tiger (Martel 311). Though, when Pi mentions the blind Frenchman, it could be that Pi has imagined the cook, since He was such an evil man. Worse still, he met evil in me... (Life of Pi Martel 309). The Frenchman had tried to kill Pi, could also be portrayed as evil like the cook; which could have been one of the reasons Pi had killed this man. Now, Pi is living the memory of the guilt that he has for killing and possibly eating a human being, even if he had killed to revenge his mother. The blind Frenchman admits to Pi that he had killed two people, one man and one woman. These two people could have been the sailor that was on the boat as well as Pi s mother. If Pi did kill and eat the blind Frenchman/cook when he was blind it could be that he could not bear to watch the terror and fully admit to what he had done. Though director Ang Lee, does not add this scene into the movie, possibly due to the fact Pi was blind as well as the man or it would confuse the people who had not read the book. Though, Pi eating the man would be an explanation of how he had gotten the energy and strength to get back onto land. Yet, in the animal version Pi could be dreaming this scene in a different perspective. Just before readers read that Pi is coming upon a carnivorous island, Martel writes about the dream rag that Pi uses (Martel 236). Pi arrives on the human shaped island (Life of Pi), and calls it a mental delusion (Martel 257). The island would be another explanation of how Pi had gotten his strength back, due to the fresh water and greens he had found and consumed.
