A Survey On Champaign County
Champaign County was first covered by the Illinois Glacier (191,000 130,000 years ago), which
leveled the region and covered it in a deposit of boulder clay. The county s topography was then
formed by the Wisconsin Glacier about 20,000 years ago. As lobes of ice from what is now Lake
Michigan crossed the county, a deep (up to 300 ft) pile of glacial soil was created and topped by
numerous moraines (any glacially formed accumulations of unconsolidated debris) forming small, flat
watersheds with no outlets. The moraines formed as the Wisconsin Glacier advanced and receded
many times over the Midwest. The Champaign moraine system now crosses the county in a northwest
southeast direction, and between the moraines ridges are broad plains of what used to be swampy
land, most of which has since been artificially drained.
Thousands of years ago, the territory consisted of wet, marshy land. The area currently known as
Champaign County was formerly occupied by the migratory Kickapoo Indians before an 1819 treaty
granted the land to the US government. European settlement of Champaign County was restricted by
the amount of land that required drainage. Since Champaign County is situated on a large and very flat
plateau, it had virtually no natural drainage until the 1870s when settlers began building drainage
ditches. The resulting upland marsh lead to a high incidence of malaria in the region in the late
nineteenth century. About one million acres (10%) of Illinois pre columbian

Chapter Notes On The Summer Village
Chapter 1: Mission to the Summer Village
Neji, Tenten, Shino, you three must head to the Land of Summer. There seems to be trouble and we
must put an end to any disturbance that could lead to danger. Tsunade, the fifth Hokage said. Neji, you
will be team leader.
Yes, my lady. Neji said politely.
This mission was sent to us by the Hikage, the Sun Shadow, greet him as if he were any other kage.
Does the Sun even have a shadow? Tenten asked.
The three headed out, swiftly moving through the forest as smoothly as the fish glide through rivers.
What is the Land of Summer anyways? Isn t summer just a season? Tenten questioned.
I m not sure, I suppose we ll find out. Neji answered.
I hear it is the land where the sun shines brightly everyday. Shino added.
Wow! Wouldn t that be beautiful! Tenten exclaimed.
The three continued their journey across the land, eventually crossing the border from the Land of Fire
to the Land of Earth. Noticing the beautiful scenario as they ventured out into the new land. As they
scoured this strange area, they began to speed up their pace. They were having second thoughts about
this land and wished to bypass the forest quickly. It was strange however, for they had always moved
through forests with no sign of fear, or any kind of suspicion. However, this time they felt different, as
though all the Land of Earth civilians had peered into their souls. Nonetheless, the journey must
continue, and the three held back their

Day One: When Other Land first opens, the average customer has the opportunity to enjoy the rides
and other attractions that are traditionally open. Because the park has numerous themes such as the
Medieval Faire, International Street and Action Zone, it has the ability to draw the customers into a
cultural and symbolic experience14. In addition to that, in anticipation of the new Guardians of the
Galaxy movie releasing in the first week of May 2017, the park will be selling specific merchandise

The Implementation Phase
Obtaining Resources: Once this project proposal is approved by management, a marketing team must
be assigned to begin working towards a licensing deal with Marvel, sponsorship and promotional
partnership with Coca Cola and Cineplex, and contact Drake s booking agent to confirm his
involvement in Other Land31. Once these tasks have been properly delegated, an IMC timeline must
be created to track progress.
Projected Financial Brief
Estimated Revenue: The financial projections followed an average attendance scenario. This assumed
that per day, approximately 68,000 customers will attend Other Land (refer to exhibit 4 for an outline
of different attendance scenarios). If that is the case, per day, with an average ticket price of $135,
ticket sales result in a total revenue of $9,180,000. Overall, this would add up to a ticket sales revenue
of $27,540,000 for the three days. Other revenue streams such as Guardians of the Galaxy
merchandise, photo booth sales, concession stand foods, alcohol sales from Day Two, Coca Cola
sponsorship, and Cineplex promotional partnership result in an additional $7,223,400 over the three

Wild Beast Research Paper
Wild Beasts By: Ethan Does anyone know how to tame a vicious animal with smooth and silky
butter? In Swiss Family Robinson, the Robinson family carefully and sometimes savagely caught and
tamed some vicious animals. This essay will show how they tamed a mischievous donkey and an
impatient ostrich. The family tamed a troubling donkey. Like any wild animal, it had to be caught with
a rope. After catching the donkey, they tied it to a juicy fruit tree and they started the boring taming
process. While it was tied to the tree, it had a rope tied around its legs and neck, so whenever it tried to
run away, the rope choked it. Consequently, the donkey learned to stay on command, allowed a saddle,
and side eye covers.

As Schools Trim Budgets, The Arts Lose Their Place
Art education initially began in the United States around the nineteenth century to prepare future
workers to be able to design competitive industrial goods (Chira, 1993). Susan Chira explains in her
article As Schools Trim Budgets, The Arts Lose Their Place. that in 1989 a nationwide survey
conducted by the University of Illinois at Champaign Urbana reports that since 1962 the amount of
time devoted to teaching art in school had declined as well as the amount of full time art teachers.
Throughout the sixties until the early eighties the nation was dealing with a major economic crisis.
Most notably was the Great Inflation of the 1970 s along with New York s 1970 Fiscal Crisis which
greatly affected the art scene in New York that was at the time the place to be if you were an artist. ...

Many programs have since heavily relied on donations and private funding, especially through the
NEA. According to an article on Academy of Arts, that states that over the years as more research and
studies came out on the importance of art education the elimination of these programs became an error
of the past and schools began to make the arts a necessary part of their well rounded educational
program. In 2001 with the enactment of the No Child Left Behind Act, the arts had seemingly secured
a placed alongside the other core academic subjects that could contribute to improving student
education. However, even with that not every school, and not every child had the same artistic
opportunities available to them, due to funding, due to time restrictions, or due to location (Sandra S.
Rupert, 1). The threat to once more cut the funding of art programs if not get rid of them entirely was
alive once more during the 2008

Argumentative Essay On Knights
Knights are often said to fight dragons or save princesses or break curses, but there is so much more to
being a knight. Knights deserve to be higher in the social class because of all the work they do. They
have difficult and extended training. They have a complex and astonishing lifestyle. They have
essential and crucial duties to do. They impact the world and influence the world today. Medieval life
was complex and different for Knights. Religious Knights had a challenging and difficult lifestyle.
The Knights Hospitaller is a difficult job, but an important one. The Knights of the Round Table were
a group of Knights, who traits the world needs today. Knights should be above Nobles.
These Knights were found in Europe during the Middle Ages. The Middle Ages lasted from the 476

Knights passed down the art of chivalry, avoiding lying or cheating or torture, justice for all,

than cattle. Not all of them indeed were cruel or wicked, but they believed that their gentle blood
made them far superior to other people. ( Lynn Waterman, 2001, The Nobles of the Middle Ages)
Knights have also created the stirrup. The stirrup allowed Knights to use retreats as a weapon. The

Oil And Gas Fields Essay
A close look at my Resume will indicate that I majored in the exploitation of oil and gas fields in my
undergraduate program and specialized in petroleum engineering, a similar specialty, in my Master s
program. It may well be asked why I maintain such a close affinity with petroleum. The answer is
simple and straightforward because I was born and I grew up on an oil field and I have cherished a
deep love for all that it represent. Even as a child, I had a habit of watching for hours how beam
pumping units, standing as if like a miniature forest, worked, indulging myself in all kinds of fantasies
and reflections about the mysterious reservoir underground with great curiosity. I imagined that
someday I would be able to unveil its mysteries. With the lapse of time, I am approaching the 30th
year of my age and a cursory retrospection makes me realize that, for nearly a decade, I have been
making efforts toward this objective. The black petroleum continues to hold me fascinated and
spellbound with its infinite attractions. In order to understand petroleum better, I consider it necessary
to travel to the other side of the Pacific Ocean to improve my knowledge and expertise in petroleum
research.
I am most proud that I have obtained both Bachelor s degree and Master s degree through 7 years of
dedicated academic efforts at Beijing University of Petroleum , China s most prestigious institution of
higher learning in the field of petroleum. What made me even more proud of myself is

Write An Essay On Rabies Virus
A virus by definition is any member of a unique class of infectious agents . . . that consists of genetic
material, which may be either DNA or RNA, and is surrounded by a protein coat and, in some viruses,
by a membrane envelope ( virus ). Such agents are unable to produce the necessary nutrients to
survive because they do not possess the biochemical mechanisms or organelles to synthesize
necessary elements. As a result, they feed off a living host cell by attaching to the cell s docking
proteins and injects its virus through the membrane. However, the cycle of a virus is more complex
than it may seem. There are eight main steps that occur in a basic virus: attachment, penetration,
uncoating, targeting, gene expression, genome replication, virion assembly, and the release of the new
infectious virus. During attachment, the virus s attachment proteins dock on specific receptors found
on the outer membrane of certain target cells. In order for this process to occur, the attachment
proteins must bind with a certain receptor for that specific virus. For example, the rabies virus has
glycoprotein attachment molecules that bind with acetylcholine receptors on neurons. The virus then
penetrates the cell and injects its nucleic acid from the capsid, the protein shell that protects the virus,
through either ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

AAssessment Of K Class And Personal Research
I would like to give a realistic assessment of the diverse ways to pay for my education as a result of
the ACA class and personal research. As demonstrated in the power point presentation there are five
types of financial aids discussed. Significantly important to me were grants and scholarships, due to
the fact you do not repay any money back. As a perfect illustration of a frugal person to pay for their
education these formulate an appositive route for me to take. The ramifications of my impoverishment
has lead me to pursue additional grants and scholarships for my schooling and living expenses.

Consequently, I would not quit and I earned a GPA of a 4.0 and will try my best to maintain that
average. How I calculated the GPA, took two classes that were three credit hours each received an A in
both classes, multiplied the credited hours by my grades then divided with total hours.
Balanced against my health and the chance of losing the financial aid I will move forward. Just encase
I may need to be informed about SAP this class has edified me. I will now explain the three types of
criteria or measurements for evaluating SAP and the appeal procedure.
I will explain Financial Grade Aid Point Average this is calculated from 1 24 credits you are obligated

some programs.
The second prong is SAP is staying in at least virtuous graces in the completion rate. This is an
additional information I had never heard of. It is essential to have completed 67% of all attempted
courses. Students cannot withdraw from class due to failing grades habitually without ramification.

How To Brush Your Teeth Research Paper
Getting kids to brush their teeth well is a constant battle. You know how vital good oral health habits
are, but it s hard to convince your child when there are so many more interesing things to do. The
good news is that toothbrushing doesn t have to be monotonous or boring. Here are six tips to make
the experience more pleasant for both of you: 1. Let Your Child Pick a Toothbrush There is an almost
endless variety of toothbrushes to choose from. They come in practically any color imaginable and
feature a wide variety of popular characters. Allow your child the freedom to pick any style of brush
that he or she likes. If you can t find the perfect brush in a local store, you re almost sure to find what
you re looking for online. 2. Offer ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Offer a Reward Turn brushing into a positive experience by offering a reward for a job well done. If
your child brushes for two minutes without complaining, offer a little something special. It could be
anything that your child likes, from stickers to extra screen time. The key is to tailor the reward to
your child, so that it s something he or she wants to strive for. 5. Have a Dance Party Why not brush
your teeth with your child and turn it into a fun time for both of you? Turn on some upbeat music and
dance around while you brush your teeth together. You ll be setting a great example, getting some
exercise and making sure that your little one s teeth get clean all at the same time. 6. Sound the Alarm
Instead of setting a standard timer to go off after two minutes of brushing, get creative. Do something
silly, like ring a bell, blow a whistle or play a ringtone on your phone. Your child will be so busy
anticipating the next alarm that he ll forget to complain about how long he has to brush. Convincing
kids to brush their teeth is definitely a challenge. It can leave even the most patient parents with frayed
nerves, but it doesn t have to be that way. By getting a little creative and silly, toothbrushing time can
become something to look foward to each day instead of something that both of you

Impact Of Computer In Medicine And Medicine
Computers and Medicine
Technology is vital to society in today s age and it affects almost every single thing that goes on in a
person s daily life. I believe technology has spread to nearly every field, even if it is a minor use of it.
Transportation, conversation, banking, and even working places have some sort of technology with it
now. But what is going to be discussed in this Wiki is the impact that technology and computers have
made with medicine and healthcare.
The creation of technology changed the way healthcare is being received, and even organized. The
introduction of electronic medical records, to finding cures that humans thought would not be
possible, healthcare has changed right in front of everyone s eyes. Let s discuss what exactly a
computer is and how technology is changing in the field of healthcare and medicine.
What is a computer?
According to dictionary.com, a computer is a programmable device that reads data, performs
calculations, and outputs the results of the data.
How are computers used by doctors to deal with medical efforts?
In today s age, computers help patients and the hospital communicate together for reasons, such as
booking appointments at home or in office, sending medical prescriptions to pharmacy, or just in
house communication between doctors and nurses. The introduction of electronic medical records has
allowed doctors and nurses to get rid of paper work and have all electronic documents for easier
access and storage. Many

modern society while critiquing the flaws of preventative laws against illegal substances. Using
himself as an approach to explain that addiction does not occur after one intake; however after various

at a cost. When putting all illegal substances on the market, a label detailing the affects, good or bad,
when a person consumes such substances (Vidal). As people are entitle to their own actions, it is
impossible to completely rid the world, much a country, of drug addiction. Vidal explains that
everyone in this world is not sane and that there will be addicts and substance abusers. Similar to those
who choose to end their life, the issue will remain persistent only just at a reduce minimum (Vidal).
Realizing that due to a substances illegalization, people tend to crave more of the substance because it
is not allowed. With all substances, including Marijuana, becomes legalized

Conflict Theorists
Marvin Carlson s article argues about whether plays are better experienced purely through text or
through performance. He discusses the conflict theorists dealt with when they wanted to perform
Shakespeare s plays. Some theorists believed that Shakespeare s texts were a magnificent work on
their own and that any performance needed to be as close to the text as possible. This caused theorists
to regard performance as unnecessary since it had the potential to ruin the text. This type of theory
carried on past the romantic period and some theorist continue to believe that plays should keep to the
original script as much as possible. Carlson cites Charles Lamb commenting on how performances of
Hamlet diminish the quality of Shakespeare s work. Marvin then explains how ... Show more content

Edward Gordon Craig is cited saying that if the a play is pure and performance has a tendency to
dilute a playwrights work then performance should not attempt to strictly recreate the script. Craig
believe that theatre should create its own type of art. Marvin then goes on to discuss theorists that take
a middle ground approach to text and performance. These types of theorist try to treat both the written
and performance portion of plays equally. However, Marvin argues that is not necessarily what
happens. He states that some theorists tend to view performance as a translation because it is not equal
to the original. Marvin argues that valuing either the written play or the performance causes the other
to have less value. He believes that both the text and performance have value. The two concepts also
compliment each other. Marvin comments that performance can provide a visual element that the
script lacks, which results in several different types of performances. According to Marvin,
performances allow for different interpretations of the text, which allows people to return to the same
play in order to get a different

The Between Dance And The Self
Within Fish Tank, performance serves a multitude of functions. For one, characters in the film define
themselves in relation to dance, and performance as a whole is presented as an outlet and a means to
attain freedom. Yet, the relationship between dance and the self is also antithetical as, whilst individual
characters escape social definition through the act of dance, the act itself defines them. This can be
seen especially in relation to the female identity that is imposed with sexual objectivity through dance.
However, dance also operates in a figurative sense, Mia, dances with the idea of reinvention, escape

However, Mia s lack of talent for dancing establishes a sense of futility regarding her escape.
Nonetheless, Mia s desire to dance reflects her broad desire to express herself creatively.
Mia s desire to escape social constraint is further revealed through her attempt to connect to the Black
American culture. Mia s dance moves and music choices create an interesting dynamic to her self
expression, for example, Mia s burgeoning connection to Connor is revealed through her choice to
dance to his favourite song. Further, as Mia dances in front of the television in her kitchen, she does so
to an African American pop song, featuring street dance (0.13.19). Mia s copying of the dance moves
is emblematic of her attempt to re construct and re define her identity.
The..cultural..messages..that..she..receives from the television, dance and music therefore, are
presented as being key in Mia s process of self discovery. Connor s comment You dance like a black is
intended as a compliment, yet reveals further Mia s attempt to construct her identity out of cultural
fragments. Broadly, through dance, and performing aspects of African American street culture, Mia s
powerful desire to escape societal constraint is made apparent. Mia s attempt to connect with a world
different to her own, is emblematic of Mia s attempt to seek freedom.

I do not like The Mouth and find him creepy. The reason being is mostly because of the tight hold he
has over the town through the bizarre purge he started when he became the pastor. Although after
learning his backstory, it all made sense, and I began to feel sorry for him. The Mouth changed from
an ordinary guy finding his way in the world to an extreme religious leader. It seems he uses his
religion to protect himself because of what happened in his past when he went out into the world to

pressure of it as he s more comfortable in the boundaries of his religion where no one can judge him.

Involvement In Vietnam
Vietnam, January 31, 1968. The Vietcong and the North Vietnamese army has just launched a large
surprise attack on the U.S and South Korea during the holiday of Tet, engaging in over 120 cities and
U.S occupied bases throughout South Vietnam and Cambodia. This large offensive was led by Ho Chi
Minh and other leaders in the North. Their goal: to weaken U.S. forces to wean off from guerilla
attacks and carpet bombings in the North. They never knew that this historical attack would become
an important role in weakening U.S. public support for the war in Vietnam. Therefore, the Tet

In just six months after the offensive, public support was dropped down to about 40%. The attack
became apparent to the majority of the public that we were still far from winning this was and that our
enemies were still not going to give up. The lack of public support then became a problem for
President Johnson and Westmoreland to take back the offensive in the war. In just two months after
the attack, President Johnson announced that bombing would not take place below the 20th parallel
which saved North Vietnam 90% of their territory so supplies and men could be moved with ease. The
aftermath also killed a lot of morale for the troops and many of them would contribute to fragging

able to grant Westmoreland s request for 200,000 more troops. He also cut the line down where 19
miles past Cambodia, the neighboring country of North and South Vietnam, U.S. infantryman were
not allowed to advance past that point. This made winning the war even harder when restrictions were

infantrymen and the U.S. could only provide air support and transportation. Unfortunately, many

Classical Music Influences Our Body s Vital Movements
Music of any genre or style that originates from a sincere and pure motivation, empowered not by the

The Black Death
In a time when God was everything, death came among the rich, poor, sinners, and religious people in
western Europe. Could this be retribution for the people s sins and God has a plan, or would this be
the fatal disease that would lead people to question their faith in God? Giovanni Boccaccio saw first
hand what the Black Death did to his country, how disease flooded throughout and death was
inevitable. Everything was changing, people were losing faith, the preservation of food, and simple
customs like burial rituals started to disappear. Health and Religion were the key factors in the
changing and modernization of early western Europe, these reflect on the poor hygiene, social order,
decline in old customs and faith issues that occurred in the late Medieval world. The Black Death had
made its way to the west, people knew by the many signs of sickness that they would only have a
couple of days left to live. The main symptom of the pestilence was a large tumor that would turn into
black or gray spots around the body, which was an infallible token of approaching death . Western
Europe was scrambling to find answers as to what was happening to their people, doctors were unable
to provide medicine or cures for the diseased people. More people becoming ill, it became difficult to
keep towns clean, the smell of dead bodies filled the air, and people began to leave the city with no
hope for a cure. Boccaccio recounts a time when he witnessed The rags of a poor man who died of

Machiavelli Vs Lao-Tzu
Lao Tzu s Thoughts from the Tao te Ching and Machiavelli s The Qualities of a Prince both have the
ultimate goal of making better leaders. The tactics that each writer chooses to present as a guide for
the leader are almost opposite of each other. Lao tzu writings for leaders appear to be poetry. Lao tzu s
statements are short and compressed, but they carry deep meanings. So readers should pay attention
for every word and try to figure out Lao Tzu s purpose from every sentence (Jacobus 205). Jacobus
also describes Lao tzu s teachings: Lao Tzu takes the view that possessions and wealth are leaden
weights of the soul, that they are meaningless and trivial. Because of his anti materialist view, his
recommendations may seem ironic or unclear, especially when he urges politicians to adopt a practice
of judicious inaction. Lao tzu s advice to politicians is not to do nothing but to intercede only when it
is a necessity and then only inconspicuously. Above all Lao tzu counsels avoiding useless activity: the
master / acts without doing anything / and teaches without saying anything. ...A state of spiritual peace
and fulfillment that is central to the Tao te Ching (203). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Lao tzu argues: how could he rejoice in victory and delight in the slaughter of men? (209). Leaders
should seek peace not war because people are happy when their lives are simple and in harmony. How
could a mother be happy when her sons are killed at war? And how could fathers be delighted when
they spend most of their lives in war, far away from their families? A leader should always try to avoid
war. Lao tzu added: A leader is best when people barely know he exists; when his work is done, his
aim fulfilled, they will say: we did it ourselves. A true leader does not talk too much, but he gets the

concluded that the workforce is quite diverse. This diversity of the company s employees may be
determined by gender, race, age, religion, or physical characteristics. The importance of the
organization development is about understanding of how these characteristics of from the

others find it difficult in terms of effective human resources management. Generational diversity has
become an essential element of many diversity strategies. Companies are now managing a broader
range of employees work needs and experiences as well as career development choices. For example,
while younger generations are climbing the corporate ladder and entering the workforce expecting fast
paced, highly inclusive workplaces that offer customizable careers, retirement eligible employees are
delaying their retirement plans. By the same token, professional development resources that were once
relegated to entry level and new employees have become a necessity for workers at all levels. This
broadening of employees needs coupled with the increased responsiveness on the part of many
organizations, benefits gender diversity by helping change the norms and expectations about the way
employees work, increasing awareness about workplace trends in different cultural and national

that determine opportunities, influence motives, help shape attitudes, and fix the daily prospects for

neighborhood that has many criminal types, these people may be symbols of economic and social

How important was the role played by Edwin Chadwick in improving public health services in the
C19th?
Edwin Chadwick was important in improving public health as his work illustrated the problems, such
as pollution from factories and a lack of clean water, associated with the majority of towns in the
Industrial revolution. However, his impact was not the only factor that had influence on public health;
other individuals, the government and public attitudes were also significant in changing the public
health services throughout the C19th.
Chadwick s first major impact was his 1842 Report on the Sanitary Conditions of the Labouring

Governments at that time were extremely careful to avoid any potential increase in taxes as it would
result in them eventually losing votes and losing power. However, from 1867 onwards, working men
gained the right to vote. This led to governments having to balance public health reforms with any tax
increases, as now they had to appeal to both the wealthy and the not so wealthy. Through the 1870s
and 1880s, more laws were passed to improve the conditions in towns, one of which was the 1875
Public Health Act.
The Public Health Act of 1975 was much more effective than the one made in 1848. Unlike the
previous Health Act, this one actually made it compulsory for towns to make some changes to
conditions, instead of just making suggestions. Sewers and drains were improved, fresh water supplies
were provided and Medical Officers and sanitary inspectors were appointed. The Act also saw that the
standards of housing were improved, the pollution of rivers was stopped and factory working hours
were shortened. All of these reforms were incredibly important as they led to a high standard of living
in towns, and an overall healthier population.
By 1900, people were generally living longer, healthier lives. Life expectancy had increased for both
men and women, and towns were cleaner and safer. Although Chadwick was certainly important in
initiating these changes, he was limited by the failure of the 1848 Health Act, his attitude

challenges that Information Systems Managers face in the real world or see how much of a gap we

Normally, walking involves carrying lot weight as compared to other types. You should try a couple of
brands to make sure that the straps and frame are comfy on your back.
4. Check the weight of the back
Backpacks that feature handles and wheels are incredible, but the additional features can add more
weight. Consider the weight of the backpack because this can use the baggage allowance, especially
when you are traveling by plane. Also, it is crucial to make sure that the wheel mechanism is stable
and strong because handlers can break easily. You don t need a backpack with damaged wheels
because you will only be carrying additional weight
5. Consider a daypack
Those are used to carrying a large backpack, also bring a small backpack, especially when they are
going on a short term trip. There are two types of daypacks. There are specially made daypacks that
are fitted to the back of the primary backpack or the foldaway bags that are attached inside the
primary backpack. Most trekking bags come with specially designed daypacks that are fitted to the
backpack.
The best thing about daypacks is that they are ideal for all kinds of travel. They are flexible with short
term vacations, without the need to carry a bigger baggage. You can leave the main bag in the
storeroom and your hostel or hotel or the locker at the airport or the bus station.
6. Check your budget

2004 Indian Ocean Earthquake and Destructive Tsunami Waves
Tsunami
[pic] INTRODUCTION
The term tsunami comes from the Japanese language meaning harbour ( tsu ) and wave ( nami ).
Although in Japanese tsunami is used for both the singular and plural, in English tsunamis is well
established as the plural. The term was created by fishermen who returned to port to find the area
surrounding the harbour devastated, although they had not been aware of any wave in the open water.
A tsunami is not a sub surface event in the deep ocean; it simply has a much smaller amplitude (wave
heights) offshore, and a very long ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Characteristics
[pic][pic]
There is a common misconception that tsunamis behave like wind driven waves or swells (with air
behind them, as in this celebrated 19th century woodcut by Hokusai). In fact, a tsunami is better
understood as a new and suddenly higher sea level, which manifests as a shelf or shelves of water. The
leading edge of a tsunami superficially resembles a breaking wave but behaves differently: the rapid
rise in sea level, combined with the weight and pressure of the ocean behind it, has far greater force.
[pic]
Although often referred to as tidal waves , a tsunami does not look like the popular impression of a
normal wave only much bigger . Instead it looks rather like an endlessly onrushing tide which forces
its way around and through any obstacle. Most of the damage is caused by the huge mass of water
behind the initial wave front, as the height of the sea keeps rising fast and floods powerfully into the
coastal area. The sheer weight of water is enough to pulverise objects in its path, often reducing
buildings to their foundations and scouring exposed ground to the bedrock. Large objects such as
ships and boulders can be carried several miles inland before the tsunami subsides.
Tsunamis act very differently from typical surf swells; they are phenomena which move the entire
depth of the ocean (often several kilometres deep) rather than just

Accounting And Disclosure Requirements Of Leases
We know businesses can acquire assets differently, they can buy it, or if they do not have enough fund
to purchase the asset, they can lease it. Lease arrangements give the lessee access to the assets for long
enough time and in return they need to make periodic payments to the lessor. The main advantage of
leasing is to acquire the necessary equipment or assets, use that assets to generate revenue but without
tying up a big amount of cash upfront. International Accounting Standard Board (IASB) introduced
new guidelines for accounting and disclosure requirements of leases. IFRS 16 Leases will replace IAS
17 Leases, and related Interpretations, and will be effective from 1 January 2019.
We can distinguish leases either financial or operational. In existing lease accounting practices, we
treat financial leases similar to purchase with cash or on account. On the other hand operational leases
do not recognised as an asset in the books of the business but we do deduct lease payments as an
expense and it showed up in the income statement. Over the time, the use of operating income
increased so much that the academician, regulators and practitioners raised concerns to potential
opportunistic use of it by businesses (Altamuro, Johnston, Pandit and Zhang, 2014). In general
companies who use operating lease ends up with improved return on assets and debt to equity ratio
and therefore better solidity comparing to the companies who do not use operating leases, instead they

The Empty Corridor As A Tall Slender Woman
Planes Footsteps echoed down the empty corridor as a tall, slender woman made her way towards a
certain room. Though having walked down here many times, the eerie, cold feeling of the building
sent visible shivers down her spine. The alabaster walls had a tinge of grey and it seemed that no
matter how many people were present, this could not hold even the slightest touch of warmth. She
stopped short in front of the familiar wooden door. Raising a hand, she rapped gently three times
before unlocking the door and pushing it open. The room was dark, saved for the soft glow of the
moonlight that flooded in. The woman looked around the spacious room before her attention finally
landed on the lonesome figure in a corner. It was a boy no more than six years old. His blonde hair
was slightly dishevelled and covered his eyes. His eyes they were different from the usual kids his
age. Rather than holding a cheerful and mischievous glint in them, they were glassy and hallow. He
stared unblinkingly at the woman at the doorway and though she did not outwardly show it, it
unsettled her. She could feel the hairs at the back of her neck stand on end and a cold sweat starting to
form but she swallowed and forced a smile as best as she could. Jerome, she called gently, it s bed
time. The little boy turned, eyes focusing on what he was doing prior to the woman entering. His eyes
small fingers gripped tightly onto the model plane he was playing with, but obediently, he stood and

The Importance Of Bully On Body Weight
In today s society women and girls are pressure to worry about their body sizes. Females think they
have to be petite. Women and girls should not have to be pressured about their body weight. The
pressure about their body weight comes from either girls are getting bullied about their size , trying to
fit in , or even think their weight isn t good enough for an relationship. Women need to stop pressuring
their self about their body size and just be happy. Always remember beauty come in any size and
form. This generation is cruel and evil , everyone looks down on each other instead of bring each other
up and being friendly to one another. Havin a perfect body for womens is a huge example of this
world being cruel and evil. Women are often bullied for not having a perfect body . Nowadays if your
not a size 0 , you are to big. Body hatred and women verbally bullying one another are tied together.
Culture stigmatizes women who do not meet raditional standards of beauty and , too often, women use
this unforgiving reality to harshly judge one another as a mean gain leverage and power ( When
women). This illustrates how women bully one another with body hatred. Women like to have power
over each other so by saying rude harsh words about body weight they feel as if they have power over
one another . Talking down on someone isn t power it s cruel and evil. Women have to realize that
word can hurt ;however, women need to bring one another up and compliment their weight not

A Note On Financial Management
Liquidity is a noteworthy issue in security markets in developing nations such as India. Liquidity
might have various things for understanding. For monetary business sector, we for the most part
characterize liquidity as the simplicity of exchanging a money related item. On the off chance that the
exchanging results in generous quality misfortune for the advantage versus its natural worth, then we
consider the business sector for the security as illiquid. There are a few variables that influence the
liquidity data accessibility, unwavering quality and nature of exchange costs, value sway, and so forth.
Liquidity influences the benefit costs as financial specialists would require extra pay to have the stock
of the illiquid resources which ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The liquidity issues can prompt systemic disappointment in installment frameworks (liquidity hazard)
and prompt the breakdown in credit assignment. Amid late money related emergency, the vast
majority of the national banks far and wide worked extra minutes to infuse liquidity to the budgetary
framework through managing an account and close keeping money channels to maintain a strategic
distance from systemic installment breakdown. Consequently, inadequate business sector liquidity will
have resultant effect on a national bank s exercises both as a moneylender of final resort and in its
supervision of budgetary strength. In the result of money related emergency, it was watched that a
large portion of the Governments around the globe have abnormal state of remarkable obligation due
to their backing to the budgetary framework amid the emergency a great many. A fluid optional
business sector results in lower acquiring cost for the Governments. A national bank would
dependably work in close coordination with the Government to improve the respectability and
effectiveness of the Government securities market. A business sector is fluid if brokers can execute
their exchanges promptly (promptness, or the pace of doing an exchange), and where huge
arrangements have little effect on present and ensuing costs or Bid ask spread. The business sector

Examples Of Just Out Of Place In Tartuffe
Justly Out of Place
Tartuffe is portrayed as a light hearted comedy that a reader can sit down and enjoy; however, there
are layers underneath that must be peeled back to see a theme that is crucial to the play, feminism.
Moliere has created this wonderful drama in which three ladies stand out and really drive the action.
Madame Pernelle s excessive ranting, Dorine s disrespectful back talking, and Elmire s devious
scheming seem to be the only actions taken to resolve the conflicts of Master Orgon s household.
Moliere has given us a look into a particularly odd eighteenth century home, where ladies should be
demure and soft spoken; and yet these three women are not. Though a humorous piece of literature,
Tartuffe makes a serious, feminine ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Though Madame Pernelle is a grouchy old lady who makes extremely uncouth remarks, her comments
indicate that she has a strong sense of seniority and has the freedom to speak as she pleases. The maid,
Dorine, demonstrates the power of defiance when she questions the motives of her boss as well as his
daughter. She illustrates a strong fervent character who defies authority to obtain it. Lastly, Elmire
reveals the influence of sharp thinking and women s control in a marriage. Moliere has given us a
feminist play where women ,that men and women can relate to, deal with modern problems in an 18th
century time frame such as adjusting to change with the Madame Pernelle, dealing with inferiority
with Dorine, and fighting for influence and trust in one s spouse with Elmire. Though men have their
parts in this play, the women most definitely step up to stimulate the action and prove that their
influence is equal to men s

The I Drove My Friend s Diesel Station Wagon
The first time I drove my friend s diesel station wagon, I was impressed. How it seemingly sipped
single droplets of fuel amazed me. In contrast, my father s pickup truck guzzles gasoline like a
drunkard downs alcohol. In our time of expensive petroleum and tight environmental restrictions, an
automobile that can travel farther with less fuel means everything. Today, the very word diesel is
synonymous with efficiency and reliability, and most importantly, savings for the people. But
throughout our country s history, diesel has seen storm and calm, rain and shine. To understand its
significance to us in the 21st century, we must explore the history of the word, from how it came to be,
to how it has defined hope and progress, disdain and disappointment, advancement and recognition.
Most of all, we must examine its relevance to people of the times. In the Oxford English Dictionary,
diesel is defined as a type of internal combustion engine invented by Rudolf Diesel. ( Diesel ) In 1893,
Mr. Diesel patented the first working prototype of his concept, created with the goal of overcoming
the major drawback of the gasoline engine, high fuel consumption. As Diesel collaborated with
manufactures to build upon his designs, the automotive world quickly realized the advantage of such
an engine. Diesel s engines were capable of running on a variety of fuels that were cheaper than
gasoline, including tar oil, paraffin oil, and kerosene, and using less of it. They also proved to be

  • 2. A Survey On Champaign County Champaign County was first covered by the Illinois Glacier (191,000 130,000 years ago), which leveled the region and covered it in a deposit of boulder clay. The county s topography was then formed by the Wisconsin Glacier about 20,000 years ago. As lobes of ice from what is now Lake Michigan crossed the county, a deep (up to 300 ft) pile of glacial soil was created and topped by numerous moraines (any glacially formed accumulations of unconsolidated debris) forming small, flat watersheds with no outlets. The moraines formed as the Wisconsin Glacier advanced and receded many times over the Midwest. The Champaign moraine system now crosses the county in a northwest southeast direction, and between the moraines ridges are broad plains of what used to be swampy land, most of which has since been artificially drained. Thousands of years ago, the territory consisted of wet, marshy land. The area currently known as Champaign County was formerly occupied by the migratory Kickapoo Indians before an 1819 treaty granted the land to the US government. European settlement of Champaign County was restricted by the amount of land that required drainage. Since Champaign County is situated on a large and very flat plateau, it had virtually no natural drainage until the 1870s when settlers began building drainage ditches. The resulting upland marsh lead to a high incidence of malaria in the region in the late nineteenth century. About one million acres (10%) of Illinois pre columbian ... There seems to be trouble and we must put an end to any disturbance that could lead to danger. Tsunade, the fifth Hokage said. Neji, you will be team leader. The three continued their journey across the land, eventually crossing the border from the Land of Fire to the Land of Earth. Noticing the beautiful scenario as they ventured out into the new land. As they scoured this strange area, they began to speed up their pace. They were having second thoughts about this land and wished to bypass the forest quickly. It was strange however, for they had always moved through forests with no sign of fear, or any kind of suspicion. In Swiss Family Robinson, the Robinson family carefully and sometimes savagely caught and tamed some vicious animals. This essay will show how they tamed a mischievous donkey and an impatient ostrich. The family tamed a troubling donkey. Like any wild animal, it had to be caught with a rope. After catching the donkey, they tied it to a juicy fruit tree and they started the boring taming process. While it was tied to the tree, it had a rope tied around its legs and neck, so whenever it tried to run away, the rope choked it. Consequently, the donkey learned to stay on command, allowed a saddle, and side eye covers. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

As Schools Trim Budgets, The Arts Lose Their Place Art education initially began in the United States around the nineteenth century to prepare future workers to be able to design competitive industrial goods (Chira, 1993). Susan Chira explains in her article As Schools Trim Budgets, The Arts Lose Their Place. that in 1989 a nationwide survey conducted by the University of Illinois at Champaign Urbana reports that since 1962 the amount of time devoted to teaching art in school had declined as well as the amount of full time art teachers. Throughout the sixties until the early eighties the nation was dealing with a major economic crisis. In 2001 with the enactment of the No Child Left Behind Act, the arts had seemingly secured a placed alongside the other core academic subjects that could contribute to improving student education. Oil And Gas Fields Essay A close look at my Resume will indicate that I majored in the exploitation of oil and gas fields in my undergraduate program and specialized in petroleum engineering, a similar specialty, in my Master s program. It may well be asked why I maintain such a close affinity with petroleum. The answer is simple and straightforward because I was born and I grew up on an oil field and I have cherished a deep love for all that it represent. Even as a child, I had a habit of watching for hours how beam pumping units, standing as if like a miniature forest, worked, indulging myself in all kinds of fantasies and reflections about the mysterious reservoir underground with great curiosity. I imagined that someday I would be able to unveil its mysteries. With the lapse of time, I am approaching the 30th year of my age and a cursory retrospection makes me realize that, for nearly a decade, I have been making efforts toward this objective. The black petroleum continues to hold me fascinated and spellbound with its infinite attractions. In order to understand petroleum better, I consider it necessary to travel to the other side of the Pacific Ocean to improve my knowledge and expertise in petroleum research. • 9. Write An Essay On Rabies Virus A virus by definition is any member of a unique class of infectious agents . . . that consists of genetic material, which may be either DNA or RNA, and is surrounded by a protein coat and, in some viruses, by a membrane envelope ( virus ). Such agents are unable to produce the necessary nutrients to survive because they do not possess the biochemical mechanisms or organelles to synthesize necessary elements. As a result, they feed off a living host cell by attaching to the cell s docking proteins and injects its virus through the membrane. However, the cycle of a virus is more complex than it may seem. There are eight main steps that occur in a basic virus: attachment, penetration, uncoating, targeting, gene expression, genome replication, virion assembly, and the release of the new infectious virus. During attachment, the virus s attachment proteins dock on specific receptors found on the outer membrane of certain target cells. In order for this process to occur, the attachment proteins must bind with a certain receptor for that specific virus. For example, the rabies virus has glycoprotein attachment molecules that bind with acetylcholine receptors on neurons. The virus then penetrates the cell and injects its nucleic acid from the capsid, the protein shell that protects the virus, through either ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He discusses the conflict theorists dealt with when they wanted to perform Shakespeare s plays. Some theorists believed that Shakespeare s texts were a magnificent work on their own and that any performance needed to be as close to the text as possible. This caused theorists to regard performance as unnecessary since it had the potential to ruin the text. These types of theorist try to treat both the written and performance portion of plays equally. However, Marvin argues that is not necessarily what happens. He states that some theorists tend to view performance as a translation because it is not equal to the original. Marvin argues that valuing either the written play or the performance causes the other to have less value. He believes that both the text and performance have value. For one, characters in the film define themselves in relation to dance, and performance as a whole is presented as an outlet and a means to attain freedom. Everything was changing, people were losing faith, the preservation of food, and simple customs like burial rituals started to disappear. Lao tzu s statements are short and compressed, but they carry deep meanings. So readers should pay attention for every word and try to figure out Lao Tzu s purpose from every sentence (Jacobus 205). Because of his anti materialist view, his recommendations may seem ironic or unclear, especially when he urges politicians to adopt a practice of judicious inaction. Lao tzu s advice to politicians is not to do nothing but to intercede only when it is a necessity and then only inconspicuously. However, his impact was not the only factor that had influence on public health; other individuals, the government and public attitudes were also significant in changing the public health services throughout the C19th. However, from 1867 onwards, working men gained the right to vote. This led to governments having to balance public health reforms with any tax increases, as now they had to appeal to both the wealthy and the not so wealthy. Through the 1870s and 1880s, more laws were passed to improve the conditions in towns, one of which was the 1875 Public Health Act. The Public Health Act of 1975 was much more effective than the one made in 1848. Unlike the previous Health Act, this one actually made it compulsory for towns to make some changes to conditions, instead of just making suggestions. Sewers and drains were improved, fresh water supplies were provided and Medical Officers and sanitary inspectors were appointed. The Act also saw that the standards of housing were improved, the pollution of rivers was stopped and factory working hours were shortened. All of these reforms were incredibly important as they led to a high standard of living in towns, and an overall healthier population. By 1900, people were generally living longer, healthier lives. Life expectancy had increased for both men and women, and towns were cleaner and safer. As a reward for their constant fidelity to the government and citizens, (32) the Indian Office gave the Ponca a new 96,000 acre reservation near the mouth of the Niobrara, (their old traditional homeland that included their old burial grounds and cornfield) since a delegation of chiefs in Washington, D.C. agreed to give up 30,000 acres of their current reservation. The Ponca once again flourished, with their people now numbering around seven hundred. Sadly, Congress took almost two years to ratify the last treaty, so annuities dried up and there was no money left for schools, saw mills, plows, or fencing to keep the horses and cows from eating up their crops. • 42. 2004 Indian Ocean Earthquake and Destructive Tsunami Waves Tsunami [pic] INTRODUCTION The term tsunami comes from the Japanese language meaning harbour ( tsu ) and wave ( nami ). Although in Japanese tsunami is used for both the singular and plural, in English tsunamis is well established as the plural. The term was created by fishermen who returned to port to find the area surrounding the harbour devastated, although they had not been aware of any wave in the open water. A tsunami is not a sub surface event in the deep ocean; it simply has a much smaller amplitude (wave heights) offshore, and a very long ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Characteristics [pic][pic] There is a common misconception that tsunamis behave like wind driven waves or swells (with air behind them, as in this celebrated 19th century woodcut by Hokusai). In fact, a tsunami is better understood as a new and suddenly higher sea level, which manifests as a shelf or shelves of water. The leading edge of a tsunami superficially resembles a breaking wave but behaves differently: the rapid rise in sea level, combined with the weight and pressure of the ocean behind it, has far greater force. [pic] Although often referred to as tidal waves , a tsunami does not look like the popular impression of a normal wave only much bigger . Instead it looks rather like an endlessly onrushing tide which forces its way around and through any obstacle. Most of the damage is caused by the huge mass of water behind the initial wave front, as the height of the sea keeps rising fast and floods powerfully into the coastal area. The sheer weight of water is enough to pulverise objects in its path, often reducing buildings to their foundations and scouring exposed ground to the bedrock. Large objects such as ships and boulders can be carried several miles inland before the tsunami subsides. Tsunamis act very differently from typical surf swells; they are phenomena which move the entire depth of the ocean (often several kilometres deep) rather than just ... • 43. Accounting And Disclosure Requirements Of Leases We know businesses can acquire assets differently, they can buy it, or if they do not have enough fund to purchase the asset, they can lease it. Lease arrangements give the lessee access to the assets for long enough time and in return they need to make periodic payments to the lessor. The main advantage of leasing is to acquire the necessary equipment or assets, use that assets to generate revenue but without tying up a big amount of cash upfront. International Accounting Standard Board (IASB) introduced new guidelines for accounting and disclosure requirements of leases. IFRS 16 Leases will replace IAS 17 Leases, and related Interpretations, and will be effective from 1 January 2019. We can distinguish leases either financial or operational. In existing lease accounting practices, we treat financial leases similar to purchase with cash or on account. On the other hand operational leases do not recognised as an asset in the books of the business but we do deduct lease payments as an expense and it showed up in the income statement. Over the time, the use of operating income increased so much that the academician, regulators and practitioners raised concerns to potential opportunistic use of it by businesses (Altamuro, Johnston, Pandit and Zhang, 2014). In general companies who use operating lease ends up with improved return on assets and debt to equity ratio and therefore better solidity comparing to the companies who do not use operating leases, instead they use ... Though having walked down here many times, the eerie, cold feeling of the building sent visible shivers down her spine. The alabaster walls had a tinge of grey and it seemed that no matter how many people were present, this could not hold even the slightest touch of warmth. She stopped short in front of the familiar wooden door. Raising a hand, she rapped gently three times before unlocking the door and pushing it open. The room was dark, saved for the soft glow of the moonlight that flooded in. The woman looked around the spacious room before her attention finally landed on the lonesome figure in a corner. It was a boy no more than six years old. His blonde hair was slightly dishevelled and covered his eyes. His eyes they were different from the usual kids his age. Rather than holding a cheerful and mischievous glint in them, they were glassy and hallow. He stared unblinkingly at the woman at the doorway and though she did not outwardly show it, it unsettled her. She could feel the hairs at the back of her neck stand on end and a cold sweat starting to form but she swallowed and forced a smile as best as she could. Jerome, she called gently, it s bed time. In contrast, my father s pickup truck guzzles gasoline like a drunkard downs alcohol. In our time of expensive petroleum and tight environmental restrictions, an automobile that can travel farther with less fuel means everything. Today, the very word diesel is synonymous with efficiency and reliability, and most importantly, savings for the people. But throughout our country s history, diesel has seen storm and calm, rain and shine. To understand its significance to us in the 21st century, we must explore the history of the word, from how it came to be, to how it has defined hope and progress, disdain and disappointment, advancement and recognition. Most of all, we must examine its relevance to people of the times. In the Oxford English Dictionary, diesel is defined as a type of internal combustion engine invented by Rudolf Diesel. ( Diesel ) In 1893, Mr. Diesel patented the first working prototype of his concept, created with the goal of overcoming the major drawback of the gasoline engine, high fuel consumption. As Diesel collaborated with manufactures to build upon his designs, the automotive world quickly realized the advantage of such an engine. Diesel s engines were capable of running on a variety of fuels that were cheaper than gasoline, including tar oil, paraffin oil, and kerosene, and using less of it. They also proved to be ...
