Personal Leadership Philosophy Of A Healthcare Organization
PERSONAL LEADERSHIP PHILOSOPHY We live and operate in a reasonably diverse world, and
consequently our operations come with a variability of values and beliefs from multicultural
backgrounds. As a leader in a healthcare organization I must explore the organizational beliefs, vision,
team motivations in order to accomplish the perceived vision successfully and professionally. It is my
responsibility as a leader to effectively articulate the identified vision of the organization and motivate
the team associates toward the accomplishment of the goals and objectives. It might require the
confrontation of challenging and difficult choices and the leader s deeply held philosophy. In this
paper, I will create my personal leadership ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The superior act of living an effective life lies in the pursuit of excellent vision, to move from where
we are to where we ought to be, either as a person or as an organization. A health care leader must
motivate the organizational team, find how to work with the associates to effectively dedicate their
time and energy to achieve the identified goals and objectives through the established vision. The team
members need to buy into the vision, where they are currently doing what the leader envisions, the
leader must encourage them, keep them on track and set standards for the team by setting goals and
objective, flowing from the vision. This will enable the leader to move the health care organization to
the expected performance level within the set time period. The leader must ensure that individual
responsibilities of the associates are identified, motivated and resources provided to achieve the
identified goals. To pursue the vision, I will lead the development of the health care organization s
strategic alignment of clear goals and objectives, to preserve the core mission and encourage progress
toward the envisioned future state. Also, I will encourage and provide the direction for the
organization without hindering the development of the goals that we expect to accomplish. I believe
that we can achieve what we have envisioned in our lives as we consistently not only believe it but
confidently work hard toward that belief. Such is my principle and conviction

Clinical Trial Essay
Clinical trials are often designed to test new biomedical or behavioral interventions such as new
treatments/drugs, prevention strategies, screening programs, diagnostic tests, and educational models.
The rapid increase in the costs of conducting clinical trials has made the efficient design of clinical
trials more important in recent years. For example, a new report published by Tufts Center for the
Study of Drug Development (CSDD) expresses that the costs of new drug development which is one
of the wide applications of clinical trials have been pegged at $2.558 billion, with a 145% increase
over an estimate made in 2003 [9].
2. Clinical trial classification
Clinical trials are divided into two main classes based on how participants are allocated to different
interventions: randomized and non randomized controlled trials [21]. Non randomized trials (also
called quasi experiment) assign participants to the treatments, procedures, or interventions by methods
that are not random. These trials are used when randomization is impractical and/or unethical. They
are typically easier to set up than randomized trials which need random assignment of subjects. Lack
of random assignment in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the simplest case, a 2x2 factorial trial design generates four sets of data to analyze based on whether
subjects receive interventions A only, B only, both A and B, or neither A or B. Thus, the factorial
designs can evaluate not only the effects of each intervention but also the interaction that may exist
between two interventions (or treatments). For this reason, this trial design can be viewed as an
efficient way to conduct two trials in one. However, it is not recommended when comparing the two
interventions to each other is considered as a primary purpose

Persuasive Essay About Surfing
Surfing isn t easy, but it is very exciting and addicting. If you are someone who likes non contact
sports, and enjoys being outside, this is the sport for you. Unlike a lot of other sports, you are hot and
sweaty in a gym, however surfing in the ocean makes you feel cool on a hot day. If you are a beginner,
it may be very challenging to catch a wave. It is recommended to use a soft foam board. These boards
are lightweight, don t require wax, and easy to get up and stand on. Before you decide to get in water,
you need to make sure that you find the right spot with just enough waves. I would not recommend
going into an area with very big waves because surfing as a beginner, it would be very overwhelming.
As a beginner, when catching a wave, you want to be waist deep and in an area where the waves have
already broken. At this spot, you can practice standing up. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A regular is when your left foot is naturally in front and a goofy foot is when your right foot is
naturally in front. When getting up on the board, you want to jump up very fast and have your knees
bent the whole time riding the wave. After you feel comfortable closer to shore, you can now paddle
out more into the ocean. As a beginner, it may be hard to get past the impact zone because it would
potentially take you under. Once you are far out enough, you need to turn your board and wait for a
good wave. When you see a good enough wave coming your way, you need to lay back down on your
stomach and start paddling immediately, and very fast. Once the wave is about to break, very quickly,
hop up onto your feet and keep them planted, your knees bent, and your eyes toward where you want
to go. It is very important to be patient. You will not become an amazing surfing in one day. I would
recommend sticking to it because it is a very fun and exciting sport when you get the hang of

Analysis Of The Film Snowpiercer
The plot in the film Snowpiercer, directed by Bong Joon Ho, follows lead actor Chris Evans, who
stated in reference to the film, I absolutely think it should be seen on a big screen. But I read
something where someone from RADiUS that said, A screen is a screen is a screen (Daniels). This
quote is significant because it relates to the current expansion of entertainment delivery systems in the
world. Nonetheless, Snowpiercer is a film that was directed for the cinema screen. When it was
released in 2013, the film made approximately eighty seven billion dollars internationally, and it was
considered one of the first films of the year in the competition for an Oscar (Pomerantz). Furthermore,
this film was produced by SnowPiercer, Moho Film, Opus Pictures, Stillking Films, and CJ
Entertainment ( Snowpiercer ). In terms of the story, the setting of Snowpiercer is 2031where the
entire earth is frozen except for a train and its survivors. The train is divided into a class system where
the poor are at the back of the train, and the wealthy are at the front. With this to say, the poor are
treated appallingly, forced to live in cramped and dirty spaces, and are given scarce supplies of food.
Thus, the story follows Curtis, led by actor Chris Evans, as he devises a revolt from the back of the
train to fight through the enemies guarding the front (Snowpiercer). Snowpiercer is a diverse film
adaptation that uses vivid imagery and a compelling narrative to exemplify the spectacle,

Corporate Profit Margins Case Analysis
Corporate profit margins hit 3 decade high on falling loonie, labour costs Dana Flavelle, Economy,
Tuesday March 31, 2015 Summary In spite of plunging oil price and slow of Canadian economic
growth rate. The reason of higher profit margins is structural changes in the economy, such as low
interest rates, decreased unionization and globalization. Canadian exports have competitive because of
a lower dollar. The higher profits will eventually lead companies to invest and expand and create jobs.
Most of the increase profit margins have occurred since 2012. The lift to profit margins is in the

Skilled Independent Visa Analysis
There are a number of work visas in Australia, and one of which is the Skilled Independent Visa
(Subclass 189). Australia s economy is one of the biggest in the world, however, a growing economy
means the need for a growing workforce. Unfortunately, Australia is facing constant shortages in
various fields. Fortunately though, you might be there to help fill the void.
If you re interested in working in Australia, you can apply for the Skilled Independent Visa. It is
basically a work visa which is for people with qualifications and abilities that can fill the country s
skill shortages. For example, if there is a shortage of health workers a particular region and if you re a
registered nurse, then you may apply for a Skilled Independent Visa.

The Effects Of Sucrose On Pain
decreases pain is unknown. However, theory supported in animal studies shows the analgesic effects
of sucrose can be reversed by using naltrexone. Further studies show that infants who were born to
mothers being treated with methadone did not demonstrate the same analgesic effects from sucrose.
These findings are essential in demonstrating that the decrease in pain is not similar to the response
elicited by non nutritive (NNS) sucking and decrease pain through activation of a different
neurological pathway. The main point is the effect of sucrose on pain relief is linked to the sweetness
of the solution, as seen with other sweetening solutions such as glucose (McCall, DeCristofaro, Elliott,

Swimming To Antarctica Summary
Swimming to Antarctica is a story about how Lynne Cox attempt to complete the grueling swim.
Lynne s goal to finish the swim is motivated by her effort, determination and bravery. Can Lynne
overcome her difficulties and finish the swim, or will she let it all slip away?
Lynne will be doing a mile long swim in the freezing, thirty two degree water. That is the temperature
when fresh water freezes. If Lynne s cells froze, then the body tissue could result in a permanent life
threatening situation. In Lynne s cabin she questioned herself, Would my core temperature drop faster?
, Would i be able to tell if I was in immediate danger? . Did she really want to take such a risk, one
part of her wanted it and another did not. The next morning Lynne walked down to the ship s library
and drank four eight ounce cups of hot water, and ate two small croissants for breakfast. The reason
she ate and drank these is because they are high in fat and carbohydrates. Swimmers need these
because the water is so cold the layer of fat would help keep her warm. Gabriella came in to take a
core temperature, it was about 100.4 degrees. This was higher than usual, because she was so psyched.
She rubbed sunscreen on her face, but none on her arms and legs because she would be slippery if the
crew needed to pull her out of the water in an emergency. Before Lynne stepped out onto the ramp Dr.
Block traced two veins in her arm with a blue marker, it was just a precaution in case of an emergency.

Credibility Judgement Of Information
Credibility judgment of information largely rests upon three elements of communication: source,
message, and medium (Metzger, Flanagin, Eyal, Lemus, McCann, 2003). Source credibility refers to
the degree to which individuals perceive an information source as reliable. A source of information
may be a person, a group, or an organization, each of which has its own characteristics that may affect
credibility perception such as ability (expertise) and motivation (trustworthiness) to provide accurate
and trustful information (Tormala Petty, 2004). Message credibility is an evaluation of characteristics
of the message communicated such as informational quality, accuracy, currency and language
intensity, which create believability (Metzger et

Essay about Devil in the Grove
The Fear of a Nation and the Bravery Within: Devil in the Grove
It was President Franklin Delano Roosevelt who famously said, We have nothing to fear but fear itself
. There was a deep seated irrational fear in Lake County, Florida in 1949 four black boys accused of
raping a 17 year old girl. White supremacists obsessed over controlling the black race, and protecting
the flower of southern womanhood . While blacks feared for their lives. And with the influential but
extremely courageous help of the NAACP, especially Thurgood Marshall, some fought back. Gilbert
Kings Novel, The Devil in the Grove, tells the story of a rather suspenseful tragic time for our Nation

Fear had taken over the south, whites were afraid to stand against the crowd, and blacks had to fear
their lives every day. Two black men saw a car stopped on the side of the road and offered to help,
little did they know they re kindness would turn so ugly because of racism.
The Groveland Four Boys were beyond any doubt innocent. But the KKK was so scared of racial
integration. Because a young white woman was accusing them of rape they thought they had a case.
Although only three were on trial, Ernest Thomas, was running away for fear of being murdered when
he was shot by Willis McCall, the merciless Lake County sheriff, and by chance became the fourth
boy. Two of the boys were not even in the area of the rape . McCall was a notorious violent racist who
abused his power as sheriff. He beat confessions out of the Groveland boys. Although the facts clearly
freed the boys of the crime, it would never matter when it came to the matter of blacks and whites.
When a white female accused a black male of taking her innocence the fear grew even stronger for the
white supremacists. The KKK burned the innocent Groveland boy s homes. And although mobs
wanted to take the boys away and lynch them immediately, McCall saves them from the mobs, only to
take matters into his own hands. Evidence is tampered with, false evidence is displayed, and the case
is unbelievably hard to take in as a reader. McCall

Afro-Brazil Culture
The transatlantic slave trade was a primary structuring force of brazilian society. When Brazil became
independent in 1822 from portugal, the slave trade was perceived as a dominant activity in the country
s economy because it involved so much formation and investments. Slavery played a significant role
in the structure of Brazil considering that the system of involuntary labor was the biggest and most
extended of all the slave societies in the Atlantic world. This molded Brazilian ways of life including
jobs, transportation, economic concerns, political factors and culture in many ways. The modernize
approach of religion and traditions of the old African culture now converted into an Afro Brazilian
culture that still has an impact and exists today which is also still celebrated in Brazil. I believe that
without slavery, many of the importance of both sides of society selling slaves and buying slaves
would not have shaped humanity in the modern world. Two centuries had seen African and European
cultural religious and linguistic habits merging into unique Afro Brazilian social and religious
customs, music, and storytelling (Nellis 62). The cultural influence of Afro Brazilians has persistently
grew from celebrations like carnaval into a mainstream popular culture. Brazil holds a variety of
different ideas, culture and people. These ideas and traditions include musical interests, dancing,
different food dishes, literature and art, festivities, and religious practices.

The Black Mirror Episode Shut Up And Dance
With every action, there is a consequence. It is so ever often that someone can do a misdeed and
receive nothing from it. However, there would still be speculation from it. So if nothing happens, does
the person move on with their lives, or does it haunt them until they confess? Well, it depends on the
person. One can be paranoid of their surroundings, while the other can forget about what they did and
move on. If someone commits a crime and it caught, there will be a consequence. It can either be
shortly after the crime, or years later. Frankly, someone will have to face the consequences. The
criminal just has to deal with it and realize their actions are what led them to the consequence. No one

It will go in 2 directions. One will be where they hide what they did and accidentally commit more
crimes, while the other is that they found pleasure in committing the crime and want more of that
feeling. The first direction includes someone being paranoid and doing things they do not want or that
they usually would never do. It gets to a point where they have done enough damage and it breaks the
person. They cannot deal with it anymore and turn themselves in since they have nothing to lose
anymore. They lost themselves in the mess and the only way out is to accept it and come out with the
truth. The other direction goes as such: the person commits the crime and they feel good about it. They
get that high that boosts their confidence and they love that feeling. They need more of it. Therefore,
they will continue to do more crimes and with each one, it escalates so they can get the same high as
the first one. Each one gets worse and so on until they get caught. At that point, they are feeling so
high that they are unaware of the situation until they calm down and realize what is happening. One

Introduction:
GABAA (Gamma Aminobutyric Acid) receptors are the main inhibitory neurotransmitter receptors in
the mammalian brain. Although these receptors have been found in other parts of the body like liver9,
smooth airway muscles of the lungs10, and several type of immune cells11,12, their main function
comes in the nervous system, specifically neurons. The GABAA receptors located in the postsynaptic
membrane are stimulated by GABA neurotransmitter released from the pre synaptic neurons and
functions to inhibit neuronal stimulation in the short term (millisecond time range), while the
extrasynaptic GABAA receptors are stimulated by ambient GABA in the extracellular space and
confers long term inhibition.2 However, there are many types of GABAA receptors depending on the

Cys loop receptors are characterized by pentameric ligand gated ion channels. Some other members of
this superfamily are nicotinic acetylcholine (nACh), 5 hydroxytryptamine (type 3, 5HT3) and glycine
receptors 1, 2 and 3. nACh receptors and 5HT3 receptors contain cation selective channels that
depolarize or excite neurons, whereas GABAA/B receptors and glycine receptors contain anion
selective channels that, in most cases, hyperpolarize or inhibit neurons. Exception occurs during early
postnatal development when these channels are excitatory.5, 3 Neuropathic pain can occur if these
channels become excitatory in adults.16 The unique feature of GABA receptors that distinguish it
from other cys loop receptors is its activating ligand GABA (or accurately γ aminobutyrate). There are
two types of GABA receptors A B. GABAB receptor was originally found due to their insensitivity to
bicuculline which is GABAA antagonist1. They are G protein coupled receptors and differ strongly in

Why School Report Cards Merit A Failing Grade Essay
Introduction The purpose of this paper is to serve as a critique of the education brief entitled, Why
School Report Cards Merit a Failing Grade, written by Kenneth R. Howe and Kevin Murray of The
University of Colorado Boulder for the National Education Policy Center. The purpose of the brief
was to examine the practice by state governments of developing school accountability ratings systems,
which rate schools across their respective states with an A F, report card style grade as a form of
institutional accountability in the public domain. The authors of the brief were attempting to highlight
some of the purported reasons behind the creation of these systems and systematically critique those
arguments to demonstrate the failing of these accountability systems to meet their intended purposes.
The primary analysis comes from examining the A F systems for validity across three areas; validity
as a measure of school quality, validity as a policy instrument, and validity in terms of providing a
democratic framework for measuring student success.
Summary
Howe and Murray begin their analysis with an overview of the background related to A F grading
systems in the United States, which use a variety of student data ranging from standardized test scores
and growth levels to student attendance and graduation rates to evaluate a school s success or failure
as an institution. According to the authors, A F grading systems create three types of accountability,
direct or bureaucratic,

Book Report on Silent Spring
INTRODUCTION
In the book Silent spring written by Rachael Carson we find a picture of Carson s deep concept about
the connection between nature s equilibrium and the web of life that has been ruined by the
uncontrolled use of insecticides which in turn affected the healthy livelihood of this earth s creatures.
Furthermore, she tells the readers of substitute techniques of achieving the same ends. The title of the
book is enough to make us understand that it was a hint of a spring season with no bird songs painting
our atmosphere meaning that all birds had vanished due to misuse of pesticides.
DISCUSSION
The book starts with a story of a town in America. Carson explains the town as being very beautiful

She tries to get across the fact that the aerial spraying campaigns to kill the gypsy moth in the northern
states and the fire ant in the southern states were very much damaging, ineffective and also expensive.
This incident had a chain reaction resulting in crop failure, hurting wildlife and also cattle products
(such as milk) and vegetables were found having DDT and thus unhealthy for human consumption.
Carson lets us know that people are a victim to daily chemical poisoning in even minute doses. She
goes into the very details of domestic appliances and necessities. Carson talks about many things that
don t seem to be much of a danger on a daily basis to a regular person. Things such as bug sprays,
lotions, paints and varnishes, and even a pocket sized insecticide dispenser are brought up to help
demonstrate the everyday risks we encounter.
Only yesterday mankind lived in fear of the scourges of smallpox, cholera, and plague.............. Today
we are concerned with a different kind of hazard that lurks in our environment a hazard we ourselves
have introduced into our world as our modern way of life has evolved.
According to Carson we have given rise to a new range of health problems because the air we breathe,
the water we drink, the food we eat and everything else in our environment is polluted. As a result the

Graffiti is writing or drawings that have been scribbled, scratched, or sprayed illicitly on a wall or

paintings, and it has existed since ancient times, with examples going back to Ancient Egypt, Ancient
Greece, and the Roman Empire. Graffiti is a worldwide situation that has a never ending debate to it,
is it art or vandalism? To be honest I think graffiti is a form of art because it is a way to express

and where they grew up. d my opinion there s kids out there who have talent better than some artists
for that matter and are these kids are not being recognized for it because people have this vision in
their heads that graffiti is a crime. Instead of being recognised and paid for their work they are getting

The main con about graffiti is that it can open the door to other crimes such as burglary and assault .
Another negative point about graffiti is that it is often used for gangs to mark their territory. When
another gang or random person covers up the old graffiti with their own, it can start tention between

Melatonin Agonists
Discussion There have been studies conducted that show that targeting melatonin receptors may be a
novel way of reducing the threshold of seizure propensity. Currently, progabide is an established drug
that is used to control epileptic seizures. However, there are no studies conducted that combine both
melatonin agonists and GABA agonists together to treat epileptic seizures. Our results showed that
there was a decrease in seizure propensity when treating the mice with melatonin and GABA agonists,
however, there was an even significant decrease in seizure propensity when these two treatments were
combined together. The two way ANOVA test also revealed that treatment and seizure propensity had

Progabide is not a relatively popular drug for the treatment for epilepsy, so there are no concrete list of
symptoms for this drug. However, central nervous system depressants in general tend to produce
symptoms such as drowsiness or dizziness. It can also lead to suicidal thoughts or depression.21 Thus,
when combined with melatonin agonists, it may produce more intense feelings of drowsiness because
melatonin also causes increased drowsiness in humans. This experiment could have been improved if
we had used rats that were genetically engineered or born with a proclivity towards seizures. This way,
we could have seen the effects of GABA and melatonin agonists on rats that had organic long term
seizures rather than short term seizures that were induced artificially by kainic acid. It was found that
rats purchased from a group of Crj:Wistar rats from the company Charles River Japan spontaneously
exhibited seizures. These rats were then inbred and their seizure susceptibility loci (Ner1 and Ner2)
were mapped out on chromosomes 1 and 3.22 Perhaps by using these rats, we can truly mimic
seizures that are more closely related to the ones produced

Defining An Adult
Society s definition of an adult can and is very controversial, because society says a person is an adult
when that individual reaches the age of eighteen, which is the legal age. The definition that society
gives is controversial because, if an individual is not looked at as an adult until the age of eighteen, but
can be tried in court at the age of sixteen and up. Societies definition falls apart at this point. Basically,
what society is telling us that a person who is out in the world committing adult level crimes if this
person is not at the age of eighteen and is not a fully developed person than that individual should not
be tried as an adult in court but, they get tried in adult court anyways. This is when the topic of what is

The human brain finishes developing at the age of twenty five. Just because some individual stops
growing physically between the ages of sixteen and eighteen, does not mean that they are adult ready.
Society thinks that at eighteen you are ready to face the world at eighteen, society is wrong. At
eighteen you do not have all the skills needed to be an adult, most importantly the individual is not
biologically ready. The individual is not mature enough to be considered biologically ready for
adulthood. To have the maturity level if an adult, a person needs to understand the difference from
right and wrong, can defend themselves appropriately, cannot let things get to them to make them mad
or over react. This is something that society really does not care about, if the person is biologically
ready to be an adult. A lot of the people who are considered adults today are still in high school or in
their first year of college, those individuals are out here making the same teenage immature mistakes
that anyone else is making. Although a person is making childish mistakes and even though this
individual knows that they are not ready to be an adult they are still considered an adult because well
they meet society s adult standards. Most individuals do not obtain the most important thing about
being biologically ready which is maturity until the age of twenty five when their brain is done
developing. I think that this

Highsmith, who was never exclusive with Brandel, resented having sex with him. However, despite
the repulsion she felt towards her partner, Patricia was determined to make it work. For six months,
Highsmith underwent psychoanalysis in an effort to regularize herself sexually so she could marry
Brandel (Schenkar 138 139). Although she withdrew from treatment, the psychological community
heavily impacted the outlook Highsmith had on her personal relationships in her life. This is
especially prevalent in regards to her sexuality. Strangers on a Train, Highsmith s first novel, deals
with both psychopathy and homosexuality. The main characters of this novel happen upon one another
during a chance encounter on a train. Guy, the protagonist, meets Bruno. Afterward, the two start
discussing the problems in their lives, and Guy spills his heart out to Bruno, for Bruno was not the
ordinary stranger on the train by any means. He was cruel and corrupt enough himself to appreciate a
story like that of his first love (Highsmith, Strangers 23). Once the two have gotten to know one
another, Bruno seems to make a joke about each killing off the individual who creates issues in the
other s life. Guy is disturbed by this idea, but Bruno is serious. At this point, Highsmith starts
developing the psychopathic buildup of Guy. Throughout the novel, Guy is shown to be a considerate,
caring man. At one point, he thinks the taste of Scotch, though Guy didn t much care for

Is Animal Euthanasia Ethical
Is Animal Euthanasia Ethical? We ve had her since before I was born.. She was my first dog. I still
remember when my grandpa and I would always take her on walks on the beach, and when we would
play fetch with my favorite frisbee at the park. My dog, Princess, and I had a very strong bond. She
was my best friend. As she grew older, she became very sick and developed some type of cancer. It
was a very painful experience for both her and I. The cancer would cause Princess to suffer daily. She
wasn t able to eat, sleep, or walk. As it got worse, my grandpa decided that it would be best to put her
down so she would no longer suffer. I remember the day perfectly.. It happened in our backyard. It
was depressing to see her leave, but I knew it was ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
First off, I feel that the correct use of euthanasia is when an animal is in devastating pain, and when
the animal is uncomfortable. It can t eat it s usual meals, and when there is nothing to do to help this
animal live longer, it is kind to euthanize it. For example, when my dog was dying, she was in
excruciating pain, and could not eat. Our choices were either to let her die naturally, suffering for
possibly weeks or months of pain, or to assists her with a kind and painless death. In this case,
euthanasia was being correctly used. In the Newsela article, Washington Post speaks about how one of
the white rhino s from the San Diego Zoo was euthanized because of old age, and another that is in the
decision of being euthanized because of a harmful bacterial infection. (Washington Post, Newsela
Staff, xx) However, euthanasia can be used incorrectly, in a non humane way. For example, when
people have perfectly healthy pets that are euthanized, that is an unethical use of euthanasia. I had a
German Shepherd at my aunt s house that was put down because the neighbors children would irritate
him so much, that he snapped and attacked the kids. Because of this incident, the neighbors parents
would complain about the dog and since they complained so much, they had the dog euthanized. This
is a very incorrect use of

Alcoholism is not a new topic. Dependence and abuse of alcohol has been the source of constant study

Becoming pretty and the operation itself represents alcohol, and the lesions, alcoholism. Scott further
explores this link through the two most prominent characters, Tally Youngblood and her friend Shay.
Tally Youngblood cannot wait to turn sixteen and get the operation that will turn her from an ugly into
a pretty, where she can move into Pretty Town and worry only about having fun. However, her friend
Shay decides she would rather stay ugly and runs away before she gets the operation herself. The
authorities known as Specials and led by Dr. Cable tell Tally that she can either find Shay and bring
her back or stay ugly forever. Initially choosing to bring Shay in, Tally realizes that she was sent not
just to find Shay, but an entire settlement of people who decided to stay ugly, dubbed the Smoke. It is
there that she also learns about the lesions, and armed with this knowledge decides to turn her back on
her old dreams of turning pretty. It is unfortunately too little too late though, and the Specials come
and destroy the settlement. The Smoke itself lives to fight another day, but Tally and Shay are taken
back to their city and made pretty.
In the second book, Tally is living it up in Pretty Town. She hangs out with her friend Shay and a new
gang called the Crims in a constant world of partying. Tally is not sure she is Crim material though;
she constantly feels echoes of discomfort with her life as is. The story then takes a sudden turn as

How Did Religion Change Throughout The 16th Century
Throughout the sixteenth century, religion was the main focus of society. The corruption of the
Catholic church led to reformation. Through this reformation of religion, it created rifts in society,
hence outbreak of religious wars. During the Protestant reformation, the monarchy was the most
influential system that affected the European wars of the sixteenth century. Economically, Spain s
wars with just about every nearby country left it economically struggling. Inflation was high due to the
large amounts of Gold and Silver found in the new world. War was expensive and detrimental to the
Spanish economy. These wars were both religious and territorial in nature.
Politically, it is a redistribution of power and land. Up until this point, Spain was advancing in the race

Voting in National Elections Should be Compulsory Not...
It was in 1928 that universal suffrage had been granted in the United Kingdom. Prior to that time,
people fought to have the right to vote so their opinions could be voiced, yet now we have that right,
voting does not seem so significant. Before deciding whether voting should be compulsory or
optional, understanding what exactly is meant by the term compulsory voting is essential. It is also
important to educate the general public more about politics so they can make an informed decision if
and when they do choose to vote. Finally, there should be a comparison with other countries which
currently enforce compulsory voting to better understand how it would work.
The term compulsory voting is a misnomer as it is impossible to monitor ... Show more content on

Perhaps making voting compulsory would encourage apathetic and apolitical people to become more
politically active and express their opinions.
There are some people who believe that they are not well informed so they do not know who to vote
for in elections. Others are prepared to express a view without having the slightest knowledge about
the subject (Kavanagh, 1983:13). However, if voting were made compulsory, political parties would
spend less money on getting out the vote , and spend more time on campaigning their policies
(Electoral Reform Society, 2009; IDEA, 2009) and so making the public more aware of what they are
trying to achieve and why people should vote for them. As less money is spent on (often negative)
campaigning, there would be a decrease in the opportunity for corruption in politics by reducing the
need for party fundraising (Faulks, 2001:24). The public should be more educated about politics and
the policies of the parties they may or may not vote for because the more intense, informed and stable
an opinion is, the more likely a person is to act on it (Kavanagh, 1983:14). Nevertheless, the
information provided in educating the public has to be interesting, something which engages public
interest and stimulates debate, as opposed to apathy and alienation (Heywood, 2007:255) and this
would be much easier to do with the enforcement of compulsory voting rather than politicians

the story The Monkey s Paw, there are instances of fate, and what happens when you mess with fate.
An example in the story that relates to fate is when Mr. and Mrs. White mess with fate when they wish

The Anglo American invasion of Sicily, code named HUSKY, marked the Allies first direct assault on

the operational level. When evaluated against the attributes of mission command: commander s intent,
mutual trust, and understanding, the planning and execution of HUSKY reveal significant shortfalls.

Organizations That Can Impact Human Performance
1.0 Introduction
There are many facets within organisations that can impact human performance. Ergonomic
interventions are responsible for workplace designs such as displays, ease of use and aesthetics for
example. However, for organisations to develop a holistic approach to performance management, they
need to consider theories associated with social factors . Social factor is the study of human interaction
and how those interactions can affect both human and safety performance. Topics for discussion to
improve human performance and in the context of team work as a social interaction will include
system complexity and coupling.
According to Wilson et al. (2007, p. 246) effective team work is extremely important when
coordinated, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Social factor theorists suggest that individual behaviours are directly determined by the pattern or
structure of relationships within organisations. Therefore, the structures of interpersonal relationships
hinge directly on organisational outcomes such as human performance (Carboni Ehrlich, 2013). By
developing teams that encourage trust, sharing of information and other concepts associated with team
work, organisations reduce the likelihood of unwanted behaviours or outcomes (Paletz et al. 2009).
Complexity and coupling are organisational dimensions used to help ascertain human performance
within complex systems. Wickens et al. (2004, p. 493) describes complexity as the number of
feedback loops, interconnected subsystems and invisible unexpected interactions. Therefore, the
behaviours of one system can indirectly impact on the behaviour of another. Coupling implies that
there is little slack in a system and that all subsystems are tightly interconnected. Because coupling is
dependent on the interaction of subsystems, any disruptions along the system will soon transfer to
other parts. The degree of complexity and coupling impacts the organisations probability of failure.
High complex tightly coupled organisation are more likely to experience catastrophic failures
(Wickens et al. 2004). Due to the rigid management structure

Fight Night 24 Thesis Statement
UFC Fight Night 119 heads back to Brazil this Saturday and will feature a top talent looking to make a
statement, and the return of a former champion. Derek Brunson, the No. 7 ranked middleweight in the
world, will take on Brazilian legend Lyoto Machida in a fight that means something vastly different to
both fighters.
For Brunson, Saturday s clash is a chance to defeat a legend and prove that he belongs in the top 5 of
the middleweight rankings. He s coming off a first round TKO and dismantling of Daniel Kelly in
June. Prior to defeating Kelly, Brunson was on a two fight losing skid with losses to interim champion

Saturday night s co main event is a welterweight bout between a highly ranked veteran and a rising
star looking to make a statement.
No. 3 ranked welterweight Demian Maia is fighting for the first time since losing to champion Tyron
Woodley in July. He ll take on the No. 8 ranked welterweight, Colby Covington, with the benefit, or
perhaps the added pressure, of fighting in his native Brazil.
Prior to the unanimous decision loss to Woodley, Maia had reeled off seven straight victories, using
his superb jiu jitsu to his advantage against his opposition. Covington has high level wrestling, which
Maia will certainly test. Woodley was the first and only fighter to completely shut down Maia s
takedown attempts, so Covington will have his hands full.
Covington is riding a four fight win streak, but Maia will without a doubt be his toughest opponent
yet. He last defeated Dong Hyun Kim in June, and his last loss was in December 2015 to Warlley
Alves. A win over Maia would likely propel him into the top 5 of the welterweight division.
A win for Maia would put him right back in the title conversation, but he

Local area networks (LAN) are all about sharing information and resources. To enable all the nodes on

I discovered 11 new proteins which are decisive factors in the biological formation of invertebrates.
The functions of proteins allowed us to understand how a huge number of invertebrates interact with
the environment and how they respond to global climate change. Because of my discovery and
outstanding achievements in the doctoral and postdoctoral programs, I received President Award from
the University of the Ryukyus and many awards from international scientific forums. Using these
emerging environmental innovative approaches, I performed whole proteomics analyses in calcifying
marine invertebrates and discovered how and which extracellular proteins (e.g., ECMP 67) are
responsible for making calcite mineral in their skeletons and subsequently explored how some
invertebrates (e.g. octocorals) defy their environments (see http://www.asbmb.org/news.aspx?

Personal Leadership Philosophy Of A Healthcare Organization PERSONAL LEADERSHIP PHILOSOPHY We live and operate in a reasonably diverse world, and consequently our operations come with a variability of values and beliefs from multicultural backgrounds. As a leader in a healthcare organization I must explore the organizational beliefs, vision, team motivations in order to accomplish the perceived vision successfully and professionally. It is my responsibility as a leader to effectively articulate the identified vision of the organization and motivate the team associates toward the accomplishment of the goals and objectives. It might require the confrontation of challenging and difficult choices and the leader s deeply held philosophy. In this paper, I will create my personal leadership ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The superior act of living an effective life lies in the pursuit of excellent vision, to move from where we are to where we ought to be, either as a person or as an organization. A health care leader must motivate the organizational team, find how to work with the associates to effectively dedicate their time and energy to achieve the identified goals and objectives through the established vision. The team members need to buy into the vision, where they are currently doing what the leader envisions, the leader must encourage them, keep them on track and set standards for the team by setting goals and objective, flowing from the vision. This will enable the leader to move the health care organization to the expected performance level within the set time period. The leader must ensure that individual responsibilities of the associates are identified, motivated and resources provided to achieve the identified goals. To pursue the vision, I will lead the development of the health care organization s strategic alignment of clear goals and objectives, to preserve the core mission and encourage progress toward the envisioned future state. Also, I will encourage and provide the direction for the organization without hindering the development of the goals that we expect to accomplish. • 3. Clinical Trial Essay Clinical trials are often designed to test new biomedical or behavioral interventions such as new treatments/drugs, prevention strategies, screening programs, diagnostic tests, and educational models. The rapid increase in the costs of conducting clinical trials has made the efficient design of clinical trials more important in recent years. For example, a new report published by Tufts Center for the Study of Drug Development (CSDD) expresses that the costs of new drug development which is one of the wide applications of clinical trials have been pegged at $2.558 billion, with a 145% increase over an estimate made in 2003 [9]. 2. Clinical trial classification Clinical trials are divided into two main classes based on how participants are allocated to different interventions: randomized and non randomized controlled trials [21]. Non randomized trials (also called quasi experiment) assign participants to the treatments, procedures, or interventions by methods that are not random. These trials are used when randomization is impractical and/or unethical. They are typically easier to set up than randomized trials which need random assignment of subjects. Lack of random assignment in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the simplest case, a 2x2 factorial trial design generates four sets of data to analyze based on whether subjects receive interventions A only, B only, both A and B, or neither A or B. Thus, the factorial designs can evaluate not only the effects of each intervention but also the interaction that may exist between two interventions (or treatments). For this reason, this trial design can be viewed as an efficient way to conduct two trials in one. However, it is not recommended when comparing the two interventions to each other is considered as a primary purpose ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Persuasive Essay About Surfing Surfing isn t easy, but it is very exciting and addicting. If you are someone who likes non contact sports, and enjoys being outside, this is the sport for you. Unlike a lot of other sports, you are hot and sweaty in a gym, however surfing in the ocean makes you feel cool on a hot day. If you are a beginner, it may be very challenging to catch a wave. It is recommended to use a soft foam board. These boards are lightweight, don t require wax, and easy to get up and stand on. Before you decide to get in water, you need to make sure that you find the right spot with just enough waves. I would not recommend going into an area with very big waves because surfing as a beginner, it would be very overwhelming. As a beginner, when catching a wave, you want to be waist deep and in an area where the waves have already broken. At this spot, you can practice standing up. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A regular is when your left foot is naturally in front and a goofy foot is when your right foot is naturally in front. When getting up on the board, you want to jump up very fast and have your knees bent the whole time riding the wave. After you feel comfortable closer to shore, you can now paddle out more into the ocean. As a beginner, it may be hard to get past the impact zone because it would potentially take you under. Once you are far out enough, you need to turn your board and wait for a good wave. When you see a good enough wave coming your way, you need to lay back down on your stomach and start paddling immediately, and very fast. Once the wave is about to break, very quickly, hop up onto your feet and keep them planted, your knees bent, and your eyes toward where you want to go. It is very important to be patient. You will not become an amazing surfing in one day. I would recommend sticking to it because it is a very fun and exciting sport when you get the hang of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Analysis Of The Film Snowpiercer The plot in the film Snowpiercer, directed by Bong Joon Ho, follows lead actor Chris Evans, who stated in reference to the film, I absolutely think it should be seen on a big screen. But I read something where someone from RADiUS that said, A screen is a screen is a screen (Daniels). This quote is significant because it relates to the current expansion of entertainment delivery systems in the world. Nonetheless, Snowpiercer is a film that was directed for the cinema screen. When it was released in 2013, the film made approximately eighty seven billion dollars internationally, and it was considered one of the first films of the year in the competition for an Oscar (Pomerantz). Furthermore, this film was produced by SnowPiercer, Moho Film, Opus Pictures, Stillking Films, and CJ Entertainment ( Snowpiercer ). In terms of the story, the setting of Snowpiercer is 2031where the entire earth is frozen except for a train and its survivors. The train is divided into a class system where the poor are at the back of the train, and the wealthy are at the front. With this to say, the poor are treated appallingly, forced to live in cramped and dirty spaces, and are given scarce supplies of food. Thus, the story follows Curtis, led by actor Chris Evans, as he devises a revolt from the back of the train to fight through the enemies guarding the front (Snowpiercer). Snowpiercer is a diverse film adaptation that uses vivid imagery and a compelling narrative to exemplify the spectacle, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Further studies show that infants who were born to mothers being treated with methadone did not demonstrate the same analgesic effects from sucrose. These findings are essential in demonstrating that the decrease in pain is not similar to the response elicited by non nutritive (NNS) sucking and decrease pain through activation of a different neurological pathway. The main point is the effect of sucrose on pain relief is linked to the sweetness of the solution, as seen with other sweetening solutions such as glucose (McCall, DeCristofaro, Elliott, 2013). • 9. Swimming To Antarctica Summary Swimming to Antarctica is a story about how Lynne Cox attempt to complete the grueling swim. Lynne s goal to finish the swim is motivated by her effort, determination and bravery. Can Lynne overcome her difficulties and finish the swim, or will she let it all slip away? Lynne will be doing a mile long swim in the freezing, thirty two degree water. That is the temperature when fresh water freezes. If Lynne s cells froze, then the body tissue could result in a permanent life threatening situation. In Lynne s cabin she questioned herself, Would my core temperature drop faster? , Would i be able to tell if I was in immediate danger? . Did she really want to take such a risk, one part of her wanted it and another did not. The next morning Lynne walked down to the ship s library and drank four eight ounce cups of hot water, and ate two small croissants for breakfast. The reason she ate and drank these is because they are high in fat and carbohydrates. Swimmers need these because the water is so cold the layer of fat would help keep her warm. Gabriella came in to take a core temperature, it was about 100.4 degrees. This was higher than usual, because she was so psyched. She rubbed sunscreen on her face, but none on her arms and legs because she would be slippery if the crew needed to pull her out of the water in an emergency. Credibility Judgement Of Information Credibility judgment of information largely rests upon three elements of communication: source, message, and medium (Metzger, Flanagin, Eyal, Lemus, McCann, 2003). Source credibility refers to the degree to which individuals perceive an information source as reliable. A source of information may be a person, a group, or an organization, each of which has its own characteristics that may affect credibility perception such as ability (expertise) and motivation (trustworthiness) to provide accurate and trustful information (Tormala Petty, 2004). Message credibility is an evaluation of characteristics of the message communicated such as informational quality, accuracy, currency and language intensity, which create believability (Metzger et ... Essay about Devil in the Grove The Fear of a Nation and the Bravery Within: Devil in the Grove It was President Franklin Delano Roosevelt who famously said, We have nothing to fear but fear itself . There was a deep seated irrational fear in Lake County, Florida in 1949 four black boys accused of raping a 17 year old girl. White supremacists obsessed over controlling the black race, and protecting the flower of southern womanhood . While blacks feared for their lives. And with the influential but extremely courageous help of the NAACP, especially Thurgood Marshall, some fought back. Two black men saw a car stopped on the side of the road and offered to help, little did they know they re kindness would turn so ugly because of racism. The Groveland Four Boys were beyond any doubt innocent. But the KKK was so scared of racial integration. Because a young white woman was accusing them of rape they thought they had a case. Although only three were on trial, Ernest Thomas, was running away for fear of being murdered when he was shot by Willis McCall, the merciless Lake County sheriff, and by chance became the fourth boy. Two of the boys were not even in the area of the rape . McCall was a notorious violent racist who abused his power as sheriff. He beat confessions out of the Groveland boys. Although the facts clearly freed the boys of the crime, it would never matter when it came to the matter of blacks and whites. When a white female accused a black male of taking her innocence the fear grew even stronger for the white supremacists. The KKK burned the innocent Groveland boy s homes. And although mobs wanted to take the boys away and lynch them immediately, McCall saves them from the mobs, only to take matters into his own hands. When Brazil became independent in 1822 from portugal, the slave trade was perceived as a dominant activity in the country s economy because it involved so much formation and investments. Slavery played a significant role in the structure of Brazil considering that the system of involuntary labor was the biggest and most extended of all the slave societies in the Atlantic world. This molded Brazilian ways of life including jobs, transportation, economic concerns, political factors and culture in many ways. The modernize approach of religion and traditions of the old African culture now converted into an Afro Brazilian culture that still has an impact and exists today which is also still celebrated in Brazil. I believe that without slavery, many of the importance of both sides of society selling slaves and buying slaves would not have shaped humanity in the modern world. Two centuries had seen African and European cultural religious and linguistic habits merging into unique Afro Brazilian social and religious customs, music, and storytelling (Nellis 62). The cultural influence of Afro Brazilians has persistently grew from celebrations like carnaval into a mainstream popular culture. Brazil holds a variety of different ideas, culture and people. Although these receptors have been found in other parts of the body like liver9, smooth airway muscles of the lungs10, and several type of immune cells11,12, their main function comes in the nervous system, specifically neurons. The GABAA receptors located in the postsynaptic membrane are stimulated by GABA neurotransmitter released from the pre synaptic neurons and functions to inhibit neuronal stimulation in the short term (millisecond time range), while the extrasynaptic GABAA receptors are stimulated by ambient GABA in the extracellular space and confers long term inhibition.2 However, there are many types of GABAA receptors depending on the subunits that they are made up of ... Why School Report Cards Merit A Failing Grade Essay Introduction The purpose of this paper is to serve as a critique of the education brief entitled, Why School Report Cards Merit a Failing Grade, written by Kenneth R. Howe and Kevin Murray of The University of Colorado Boulder for the National Education Policy Center. The purpose of the brief was to examine the practice by state governments of developing school accountability ratings systems, which rate schools across their respective states with an A F, report card style grade as a form of institutional accountability in the public domain. The authors of the brief were attempting to highlight some of the purported reasons behind the creation of these systems and systematically critique those arguments to demonstrate the failing of these accountability systems to meet their intended purposes. The primary analysis comes from examining the A F systems for validity across three areas; validity as a measure of school quality, validity as a policy instrument, and validity in terms of providing a democratic framework for measuring student success. Summary Howe and Murray begin their analysis with an overview of the background related to A F grading systems in the United States, which use a variety of student data ranging from standardized test scores and growth levels to student attendance and graduation rates to evaluate a school s success or failure as an institution. For example, when my dog was dying, she was in excruciating pain, and could not eat. As less money is spent on (often negative) campaigning, there would be a decrease in the opportunity for corruption in politics by reducing the need for party fundraising (Faulks, 2001:24). The public should be more educated about politics and the policies of the parties they may or may not vote for because the more intense, informed and stable an opinion is, the more likely a person is to act on it (Kavanagh, 1983:14). Nevertheless, the information provided in educating the public has to be interesting, something which engages public interest and stimulates debate, as opposed to apathy and alienation (Heywood, 2007:255) and this would be much easier to do with the enforcement of compulsory voting rather than politicians ... • 30. Fate In W. W Jacobs The Monkey s Paw The Monkey s Paw, a short story written by W.W Jacobs, has concepts that relate to a common theme: fate. One of the main themes in the story is fate, but another theme is don t mess with fate. Throughout the story The Monkey s Paw, there are instances of fate, and what happens when you mess with fate. An example in the story that relates to fate is when Mr. and Mrs. White mess with fate when they wish for 200 pounds. Another example is when they wish for Herbert to come back to life and then they wish for him to leave again. Really anytime the paw is used, it s messing with fate. There are multiple examples of foreshadowing in story the Monkey s Paw. The example I am choosing is at the beginning of the story when the father and son are playing ... • 32. Mission Command (Husky) The Anglo American invasion of Sicily, code named HUSKY, marked the Allies first direct assault on Europe and second attempt at coalition operations. The Allies inexperience in coalition operations is evident through inadequacies in command and control (C2) and integration of fires and maneuver at the operational level. When evaluated against the attributes of mission command: commander s intent, mutual trust, and understanding, the planning and execution of HUSKY reveal significant shortfalls. First, Eisenhower and Alexander fail to provide clear guidance and intent to their subordinate commanders. Second, a dearth of shared planning, training, and combat experience limits opportunities for Allied commanders to build mutual trust. Third, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... JP 3 09 points out that a critical component of integrating joint fires into an operation is the development of a fire support plan. This plan describes the operational environment and identifies priorities and objectives regarding the use of joint fires capabilities. Specifically, air planners refuse to cooperate with ground and naval force planners to synchronize fires capabilities to achieve desired objectives. Throughout the planning and execution of HUSKY, Allied air forces independently establish priorities and objectives. Air forces planners prioritize the neutralization of Axis air forces at the expense of support functions such as the protection of naval assets or close air support of ground forces. Even after achieving air superiority, Allied air forces fail to deny airspace over the operational area to Axis air ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 33. Organizations That Can Impact Human Performance 1.0 Introduction There are many facets within organisations that can impact human performance. Ergonomic interventions are responsible for workplace designs such as displays, ease of use and aesthetics for example. However, for organisations to develop a holistic approach to performance management, they need to consider theories associated with social factors . Social factor is the study of human interaction and how those interactions can affect both human and safety performance. Topics for discussion to improve human performance and in the context of team work as a social interaction will include system complexity and coupling. According to Wilson et al. (2007, p. 246) effective team work is extremely important when coordinated, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Social factor theorists suggest that individual behaviours are directly determined by the pattern or structure of relationships within organisations. Therefore, the structures of interpersonal relationships hinge directly on organisational outcomes such as human performance (Carboni Ehrlich, 2013). By developing teams that encourage trust, sharing of information and other concepts associated with team work, organisations reduce the likelihood of unwanted behaviours or outcomes (Paletz et al. 2009). Complexity and coupling are organisational dimensions used to help ascertain human performance within complex systems. Wickens et al. (2004, p. 493) describes complexity as the number of feedback loops, interconnected subsystems and invisible unexpected interactions. Therefore, the behaviours of one system can indirectly impact on the behaviour of another. Coupling implies that there is little slack in a system and that all subsystems are tightly interconnected. Because coupling is dependent on the interaction of subsystems, any disruptions along the system will soon transfer to other parts. The degree of complexity and coupling impacts the organisations probability of failure. High complex tightly coupled organisation are more likely to experience catastrophic failures (Wickens et al. 2004). Due to the rigid management structure ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 34. Billy Collins Rhetorical Analysis The world of writing is a vast and thoroughly confusing place, so vast in fact that it could not be navigated without an in depth navigational chart. This chart is composed of and organized by terms that help us get a clearer picture of what we want to see. These terms are genre, audience, and most importantly rhetorical situation. These terms are all interrelated in which you can t fully explore without having each one identified. One of the motives why writers delve into themselves, to put pen to paper so to speak is to express their views on a topic. What exactly do the terms that make up this navigation chart mean and how are they interconnected. Let s explore that now, genre is an identification and classification of writing. ... The genre that Donovan is speaking in is poetry and is a unique choice for the topic. His audience were the graduates of the 2016 class at Harvard University. He used his chosen genre and knowledge of his audience to manipulate his rhetorical situation to quickly but firmly convey his hopes and inspiration to his fellow graduates. • 35. Fight Night 24 Thesis Statement UFC Fight Night 119 heads back to Brazil this Saturday and will feature a top talent looking to make a statement, and the return of a former champion. Derek Brunson, the No. 7 ranked middleweight in the world, will take on Brazilian legend Lyoto Machida in a fight that means something vastly different to both fighters. For Brunson, Saturday s clash is a chance to defeat a legend and prove that he belongs in the top 5 of the middleweight rankings. He s coming off a first round TKO and dismantling of Daniel Kelly in June. Prior to defeating Kelly, Brunson was on a two fight losing skid with losses to interim champion Robert Whitaker and long time champion Anderson Silva. The loss to Silva was highly controversial, as Brunson landed more ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Co main event Saturday night s co main event is a welterweight bout between a highly ranked veteran and a rising star looking to make a statement. No. 3 ranked welterweight Demian Maia is fighting for the first time since losing to champion Tyron Woodley in July. He ll take on the No. 8 ranked welterweight, Colby Covington, with the benefit, or perhaps the added pressure, of fighting in his native Brazil. Prior to the unanimous decision loss to Woodley, Maia had reeled off seven straight victories, using his superb jiu jitsu to his advantage against his opposition. Covington has high level wrestling, which Maia will certainly test. Woodley was the first and only fighter to completely shut down Maia s takedown attempts, so Covington will have his hands full. Covington is riding a four fight win streak, but Maia will without a doubt be his toughest opponent yet. He last defeated Dong Hyun Kim in June, and his last loss was in December 2015 to Warlley Alves. A win over Maia would likely propel him into the top 5 of the welterweight division. A win for Maia would put him right back in the title conversation, but he ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Citect and WonderWare are just two of the open software packages available in the market for SCADA systems. Some packages are now including asset management integrated within the SCADA system. The typical components of a SCADA system are indicated in the next diagram. [pic] SCADA and local area networks Local area networks (LAN) are all about sharing information and resources. To enable all the nodes on the SCADA network to share information, they must be connected by some transmission medium. The method of connection is known as the network topology. Nodes need to share this transmission medium in such a way as to allow all nodes access to the medium without disrupting an established sender. A LAN is a communication path between computers, file servers, terminals, workstations, and various other intelligent peripheral equipments, which are generally referred to as devices or hosts. A LAN allows access for devices to be shared by several users, with full connectivity between all stations on the network. • 37. Marine Science Application Essay Re: Application for Staff Scientist Position in Marine Science Dear Dr. Torchin, I am very excited about the possibility of joining at the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute (STRI)) in the position of Staff Scientist in Marine Science, as advertised in Naturejobs. My research interests fit extremely well with the requirements of this post and with existing staff scientists associated with the STRI. I have extensive research experience in the interdisciplinary field of Marine Sciences (including biological diversity, environmental chemistry, physical sciences, climate change) with diverse institutions globally (Japan, Germany, Hong Kong, Canada, South Korea, Monaco) funded by competitive fellowships and external research ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I discovered 11 new proteins which are decisive factors in the biological formation of invertebrates. The functions of proteins allowed us to understand how a huge number of invertebrates interact with the environment and how they respond to global climate change. Because of my discovery and outstanding achievements in the doctoral and postdoctoral programs, I received President Award from the University of the Ryukyus and many awards from international scientific forums. Using these emerging environmental innovative approaches, I performed whole proteomics analyses in calcifying marine invertebrates and discovered how and which extracellular proteins (e.g., ECMP 67) are responsible for making calcite mineral in their skeletons and subsequently explored how some invertebrates (e.g. octocorals) defy their environments (see http://www.asbmb.org/news.aspx? id=14312 ; http://www.en.uni muenchen.de/news/newsarchiv/2011/2011_rahman_corals.html ). Throughout my doctoral and post doctoral research programs following the environmental proteomics approach, I identified key functional new proteins (including Ca2+ binding and glycosylation proteins), genes and enzyme which are involved in the biological process of the chemical formation of calcium carbonate skeleton in corals. These findings are very important for understanding the biodiversity of ecosystems, calcification process, chemistry of the oceans, and environmental change signals. Using ...
