A Summary Of The Scarlett Letter And The Scarlet Letter
As humans, we all develop a sense of knowing the difference between acceptable and unacceptable.
Consequently, that could be a simple task, but society has illustrated the difference between right and
wrong is a blurred line. In society, some may claim that unplanned pregnancy is a dreadful situation.
Others may declare that unplanned pregnancy in the same scenario, is a gift and it s one s decision. In
the novel The Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne and the film Easy A, written by Bert Royal and
directed by Will Gluck, in both stories incorporate the reflection of what defines a woman s identity
by how both characters are too sexually free. Hester Prynne, the main character in The Scarlet Letter,
found herself in a challenging situation after having her daughter named Pearl from the crime of
adultery. When Pearl was born, Hester is forced to deal with judgmental townspeople in front of her
daughter, including teaching her daughter how to respond to them. Conversely Olive in the film Easy
A idolizes Hester in The Scarlet Letter. Olive tells lies about her fake actions to draw attention to
herself. So she decides to completely change her clothing style to a more adult lingerie look. She also
a felt cut out of the A just like Hester on her clothing to symbolize adultery.
In the pieces of literature, the women are written to be the scapegoats of their respective communities
due to their choices in engaging in sexual interactions. In the novel The Scarlet Letter, Hester

Case Study Of Ivanoskaya Manufacture
Ivanoskaya Manufacture is a giant wool processing plant based in Russia. Counting 3300 employees it
is one of the only wool processing plants in the country. The company is specialized in various types
of activities which form more than 30 separate units that act as smaller businesses, every one with its
own hierarchy and a strong up to down administration, with well defined rules and procedures. Every
department is characterized by highly knowledge employees that are specialized in a very narrow
market niche. Even thou the company offers a wide set of items, from woolen blankets to screens and
felts for paper machines, the production has suffered from the serious losses that affected the industry.
When Maria Ivanova returned from her MBA in the UK to support the family business, she made

The shared and processed knowledge over the time will serve a strategic competitive advantage for the
organization.
Russian managers should listen to Francis Bacon that once said: knowledge is power. Knowledge can
be used for learning new things, solving problems, creating core competences and initiating new

Nuclear Rocket Research Papers
July 20th, 1969. The day man landed on the moon. At 20:18 UTC Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin
made their historical landing on the lunar Sea of Tranquility and made the first footsteps on our
celestial neighbour. Almost eight years prior President John F. Kennedy made his proclamation to the
American people, that we would land on the moon. Despite the success the task was an enormous one.
To launch a fiveteen ton capsule, send it to the moon, and then land it back on Earth was very costly.
Even now, half a century later, launching any chemical rocket is very costly and very inefficient.
There have been a multitude of ideas that have been proposed to alleviate the cost and increase the
efficiency of the rockets and one of the more promising, albeit risky, methods is the use of nuclear
power.
A rockets is more or less a controlled explosion. This explosion is directed through a nozzle that
accelerates the super hot gas and creates a huge amount of thrust. This thrust is what lifts super heavy
rockets into space. This is basically how a chemical rocket works. Unfortunately, do to the nature of
an explosion there are two very important materials that are required for any explosion to occur. These
components, fuel and oxygen, are combined to create a combustion and thus thrust. There is a major
drawback to this. Spacecraft operate in space and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This could not be further from the truth. Nuclear power production is a dangerous field that could
have extremely negative side effects if it is used wrong, but over that past five decades we have
greatly honed our skill of harnessing the atom to accomplish more productive tasks than negative.
There are various forms of nuclear power that run at an assortment of efficiency level; however we
humans only really have access to one form and it so happens to be the worst. It is known as nuclear

Analysis Of The Movie King Arthur
King Arthur: Legend of the Sword Guy Ritchie
The action packed movie King Arthur: Legend of the Sword directed by Guy Ritchie, also directed
popular films, Sherlock Holmes, Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows and The Man from
U.N.C.L.E.
King Arthur: Legend of the Sword is an exhilarating movie which always has you sat on the edge of
your seat as the movie is so intense and action packed as it always has something going on whether it
be a fight scene or Arthur being told something about his father and his family. King Arthur was a
child who was too young to know what happened to his parents as at a young age his parent (Uther
Pendragon) the king at the time was killed by Vortigern (Arthur s uncle) due to want of power as he
wanted to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There were some points in the movie when it got confusing such as when King Vortigern made a deal
with 3 creatures under his castle where the King has to sacrifice a loved one to become powerful yet
the story does not reveal who these creatures are and how they are able to give the King such power.
Not even the mage who fights to help Arthur become king tells us who is making Vortigern so
powerful.
My favourite scene in the movie is the montage of Arthur growing up as a child it shows him being
taken into care in the tavern and making friends, learning how to fight then going to adult life when he
works and steals for money and will do anything to help his friends and family who helped him since
he was a child, along with the music with the sped up scene it goes well together and shows the
viewers that Arthur has a nightmare every night about his father dying although he cannot remember
exactly what happened. It shows what type of person he is when the montage of him growing up
shows him storing away money in boxes behind a wall, no one knows why he was saving all this

Why Is Lying Acceptable
Is Lying Acceptable? Getting people to tell the truth can never be easy, but lying can never be as easy
either. Lying will never solve anything, you should always take responsibility for your consequences.
In some cases, lying can be okay, on the other hand lying was never what so ever justified. Telling the
truth would be better, though more times lying is just easier and causes people from getting hurt. It can
also be hard to get people to face the truth sometimes. Lying can be acceptable when protecting
someone s feelings.
To begin with, lying to keep someone from harm or from hurting their feelings can sometimes be
acceptable. In the AP lpsos, percent of those questioned said it was sometimes OK to lie to avoid
hurting someone s feelings, even though 52 percent said lying, overall, was never justified
(NBCNEWS, 2006). People who say lying is wrong are often in abstract. Very little of people would
admit to thinking it is ok to lie on a resume.
Not to mention, lying can make people not believe you or not trust you as much anymore once they
find out. Every single lie has its cost, (NBCNEWS, 2006). People tell all kinds of lies every day to
protect someone s feelings and most of the times lies are just told in different ways. They ... Show

The Impact of Digital Technology on Today s Children
In a world dominated by technology, it is appropriate for adults to have concerns about the impact it is
having on children. While most of this concern does stem from the experiences of their own childhood
when there was less technology, more play time outside, and life was just simply much easier, the fact
of the matter is that the children today and the future generations to come are going to grow up in a
technological realm. Today, children as young as four years old, are regularly using digital technology
on multiple different platforms such as the Internet, mobile devices, and gaming consoles. A 2013
Nielsen Connected Devices report found that in households that have a tablet and/or computer and
with children under 12 years of age, 70% of the children used the tablet; 70% of those children used it
for entertainment purposes, and 57% used the tablet for educational purposes. The report, of course,
raises the obvious question of rather or not early exposure of digital technology can have negative
effects on child development especially regarding their brains. In truth, there is no easy answer
because like most things in life, there are both good and bad attributes to it and the exact same thing
can be applied in this situation. For instance, while technology can be used for positive educational
purposes, there are also serious psychological concerns.
The digital technology

Flame And Shadow Sparknotes
Sara Teasdale was born on August 8th 1884. She was born in St.Louis Missouri. When she was
younger she was home schooled, and grew up mostly around adults. In 1914 she got married to Ernst
Filsinger. Her and husband moved to New York city around the 20 s. She won an award in 1918 called
the Columbia University poetry society prize. This lter eventually became the pulitzer prize for poetry.
In 1920 Sara Teasdale published a poem called Flame and Shadow. After this poem she only published
two more poems in her lifetime. In 1926 she published Dark of the moon , and in 1930 she published
Stars To night. Sara s work was known for being simple, and the use of classical forms of elements. A
year before she published her final poem in 1929 she divorced her husband. In 1933 Sara caught

stars the whole time. So for me it was not very hard at all to find a quick visual for my

When working in a hospital, setting whether it s an emergency room, or management office, there s
going to be a time when you are going to experience some kind of face to face crisis, according to
(Coombs, 1999) simply stated no organization is immune to crisis. A crisis can raise inside or outside

In fact Penrose (2000) found that while large companies with ample financial resources may have a
chance of survival following a crisis without a crisis plan, 80 percent of smaller lesser known
companies without a comprehensive crisis plan vanish within two years of suffering a major disaster.
My approach is to develop the best crisis approach through communication. Crisis communication
usually has a variety of goals some of which conflict but the most important and universal it to reduce,
and contain harm. My next step is calling all organization so they can identify the hazard they face,
my first phone call would be the (MDCH) Michigan health community department, and then
hopefully they will contact the (American Biological Safety Association). When a crisis began to brew
as a communicator and a leader I wonder when to ask for help from the outside for instance public
relations agency which might be beneficial to keep the problem from completely overwhelming the
organization. This is why I have developed relationship with an agency in case I need them in
emergency like this. Potential advantages and challenges associated with communicating within the
organization and with the public and private sectors during this crisis situation.

Nuclear Explosion During The Cold War
The occurrence of the explosion was a direct effect of Cold War isolation and the subsequent lack of
safety regulations. From its beginning the Soviet nuclear effort, primarily focused on making an
atomic bomb, was done with complete disregard for human life. Run by skilled, determined and
callous managers, the nuclear industry did not take human life into account if such concerns did not
serve the task at hand. And, like many of the Soviet s projects, the emerging nuclear industry was
covered in secrecy, with little to no information of what was going on made public. This was mainly
due to the fact they wanted to conceal any plans from their enemies, such as the United States. The
Soviet government also wanted to control the scientists and

Hyaline Cartilage
Osteoarthritis, also known as degenerative joint disease, affects around 26 million Americans (Litwic
2013). It is an inflammation of the joints resulting from cartilage degradation. Cartilage is a firm
connective tissue that is made up of chondrocytes that produce an extracellular matrix made up of
collagen fibers, chondroitin sulfate, and elastin fibers. It forms rapidly, but it is avascular so there are
no blood vessels running through it to provide the chondrocyte cells with oxygen and nutrients. To
obtain nutrients, the nutrients diffuse through a connective tissue that surrounds cartilage called the
perichondrium, in order to reach the center of the cartilage. Due to this avascular factor, self repair of
cartilage is much slower than ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In osteoarthritis of the fingers (not including the thumb), it usually affects the Distal Interphalangeal
joint which connects the distal and middle phalanges. It causes swelling and deformation in the area,
usually appearing first on the index and middle fingers, then progressing to the remaining fingers
(Joints Affected by OA 04/20/17). Osteoarthritis develops in the fingers after heavy joint use involved
with gripping heavy objects. Osteoarthritis in the thumb occurs at the base of the thumb, where the
Carpometacarpal joint joins the Trapezium and Metacarpal 1. Osteoarthritis in the thumb is deemed to
be more common than that of other fingers due to the nature of opposable thumbs in humans. This is
the joint that enables people to swivel, pivot, and pinch with their hands in order to grip things
(Osteoarthritis of Fingers 04/20/17). Since gripping is an important everyday movement and there is
only one thumb as opposed to the remaining four fingers, the thumb is exposed to more wear and tear.
The pain that settles with osteoarthritis in the fingers occurs directly in the affected areas. Any
previous fractures or injuries to these joints increase the chances of osteoarthritis in the fingers
because those will have had already weakened the

An Adventure of the Quantum Universe in Alice in...
The novel, Alice and Quantum Land, by Robert Gilmore is an adventure in the Quantum universe.
Alice, a normal teenage girl, goes through quantum land and understands what quantum is and how it
works. The quantum world is a difficult one to understand, as its nature is one of complex states of
being, natures, principles, notions, and the like. When these principles or concepts are compared with
the macro world, one can find great similarities and even greater dissimilarities between the world
wherein electrons rule, and the world wherein human beings live. In Alice in Quantumland, author
Robert Gilmore converts the original tale of Alice in Wonderland from a world of anthropomorphic

All in all, this idea is one of the more significant ideas in the book.
Moreover, the principle of superposition states that if the world can be in any configuration, any
possible arrangement of particles or fields, and if the world could also be in another configuration,
then the world can also be in a state which is a superposition of the two, where the amount of each
configuration that is in the superposition is specified by a complex number. Superposition is a
principle of quantum theory that describes a challenging concept about the nature and behavior of
matter and forces at the sub atomic level. The principle of superposition claims that while we do not
know what the state of any object is, it is actually in all possible states simultaneously, as long as we
don t look to check. It is the measurement itself that causes the object to be limited to a single
possibility. In the novel, the mechanic mentions to Alice the Schrodinger experiment. This experiment
was analogous to superposition in the macro world. Schrodinger s experiment was to put a cat, flask of
poisonous glass, and a mechanism to break the flask should substance decay in a closed box.
Mechanic then stated that the substance may or may not decay, therefore, according to the rules of
quantum physics you would have a superposition of states, in some of which the decay would have
happened and in others it would not. Of course,

Organizational Effect on Employee Psychology
Organizational Effect on Employee Psychology Organizations are defined as a social group of
individuals who come together to achieve a common goal or particular purpose. The success of an

plans. When we magnify the layers of a successful organization, it usually reveals great leadership and

Furthermore, I will propose a plan to address the root cause of the problems the organization is having

overall morale of the organization.
The Organizational Challenge Few organizations can say they have been around for over 100 years,
let alone 125 years. More remarkable, few can say that they have steadily increased revenue and
market share during this entire stretch of time. This organization can proudly state this fact, and is a
well known retail beast that has sold everything from clothing to cars, and hats to homes. This
organization has been nationally recognized over the past 100 years for excellence in retail and

Lack Of Privacy On The Internet
There seems to be no legal issue today that cuts so wide a swath through conflicts confronting
American society like privacy. From AIDS tests to wiretaps, polygraph tests to computerized data
bases, the common denominator has been whether the right to privacy outweighs other concerns of
society. And with more and more people using the Internet, more and more information being passed
over the Internet, more problems arise. The Internet has been an advantage in technology that has
greatly increased the capacities of a computer. These new capacities have been the cause of some
serious problems though. One very important trouble is the lack of privacy on the Internet. People
pass so much important information over the Internet and they expect it to be safe from others.
Information passed over the Internet can in fact be intercepted and read by other people. For many
years, people have been oblivious to the lack of privacy with more and more information being passed
through, people want something to ensure their privacy. Especially when it comes to certain actions
like accepting terms and services which are routine but dismissed, when in fact, they should be
heavily regarded. Privacy matters because
Cooperation, unity and compromise are needed to resolve the growing tension between security and
privacy. Some believe security, at the expense of privacy, is un American and unconstitutional. Others
say security must take precedence over all to ensure the safety of the

Essay about Iago Of Othello
Iago of Othello
What makes a good villain? What qualities make one villain stand out from another? Is it their
demeanor, ruthlessness, or the methods that they employ to accomplish their tasks? In any case, a
great villain must leave the reader with a respect for their methods and a question about their motives.
In Shakespeare s Othello, there is one character in Iago that fulfills all of these qualifications. Iago is a
wonderful villain because he gains other s trust, relentlessly takes advantage of his peers flaws, and
unapologetically causes the deaths of his counterparts in order to achieve his goals. The main weapon
Iago used in his villainy was trust. Iago knew how to play to each character s personality to get them

Aside from being Othello s right hand man throughout a majority of the play, he also has a level of
comfort with Cassio. This comfort is shown in his willingness to talk about Desdemona when the two
are on night patrol. This reliance was something Iago exploited each time he had a chance. Every time
a desire was expressed, Iago was there with a solution that always benefited Iago in the end. For
instance, it was Iago that suggested to Roderigo that he attempt to kill Cassio in order to get
Desdemona to be interested in him. It was also Iago s work in stoking up the fires of revenge in
Othello s belly regarding the affair between Desdemona and Cassio. For each situation, every word
that was said was for the advancement of Iago and the destruction of all others. Iago also acts as a
contributor to each character s flaws in the play. For example, in act two, Iago influences Cassio to
have some drinks in order to start a quarrel between Cassio and Roderigo. In another example, in act
three, Iago gets Othello to believe that there is an affair between Desdemona and Cassio by building
on the suspicions and doubts that Othello had before Iago even spoke to him. Finally, as the smoking
gun that Othello was looking for, Iago presents the handkerchief to Othello along with a fabricated
story about it s whereabouts. These actions contribute to the eventual demise of all of these characters,

Ozone Levels In Houston Essay
What is the difference between the ozone level in Houston and San Antonio?
How are people exposed to ozone?
What are the harmful effects of bad ozone and what is being done to reduce the ozone pollution?
Introduction: Ozone also known as O3, is a colorless toxic gas formed by three oxygen atoms. The
ozone occurs in the Earth s upper atmosphere, the stratosphere and in the lower atmosphere, the
troposphere. The ozone can affect life in a good or bad way. Good ozone is in the upper atmosphere
and occurs naturally, it has a protective layer that helps block harmful ultraviolet rays (EPA.Gov).
Stratospheric ozone is formed naturally and it is about 6 through 30 miles above the Earth s surface
and it also reduces the amount of harmful UV rays. Bad ozone is created by chemical reactions of
oxides of nitrogen (NOx) and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) (EPA.Gov). Tropospheric or
ground level ozone is what we breathe and are formed by chemical reactions of NOx and VOCs, these
reactions have been viewed by the presence of heat and sunlight, resulting in higher ozone levels in
the summer. The purpose of this paper is to identify the difference ozone levels in San ... Show more

I cheered at the casting of Chiwetel Ejiofor as Loomis. Ejiorfor is a great actor bringing depth,

seeing Margot Robbie cast as Ann Burden though after experiencing her performance I quickly
formed a new impression of her. She was strong in the role and earned my approval as a multifaceted
actress, taking her beyond her very adult scenes in The Wolf of Wall Street and her upcoming descent

worth my movie dollars. With that said, he was the weak leg of the stool in Z the

their industry and stand out from the crowded eCommerce market. Even though we first heard of
conversion rate optimization back in 2007, it s benefits only became popular in the last three years. It s
a digital marketing trend that will certainly be on the what s hot? list for the next year: early adaptors
will be ahead of their competitors, building their reputation as leaders and as a top of mind choice,

It s like taking medication to improve your health, but you have no idea what s causing the illness.
Every CRO action you do should have a precise goal and be integrated into the business plan.
Start with the end in mind: what s the purpose of this eCommerce business? What are my goals? How
can I reach these goals? Once you have the answer to these question, you can drive up a marketing
plan and include in it the conversion rate optimization plan.
Thus, for next year s resolution, take a step back and analyze the current state of your business.
Rectify your approach as you work to align all your goals, and build a proper conversion rate
optimization plan for 2016.
Use weather segmentation
Segmentation helps marketers to discover the most converting type of traffic and, also, to display the
right message, at the right time, to the right audience. Having in mind the purpose of building a
successful company, entrepreneurs and marketers must identity the 20% traffic segments that bring
80% of results.
Usually, websites use segmentation data points such as: location (city, region, country), new vs.
returning visitors, referring URL, previous conversion activity, cookies, purchase history. Yet, one
efficient segmentation criterion is missed by eCommerce websites: weather segmentation.
With this type of segmentation, you can

Essay on Reforming Credit Laws
Credit allows consumers to finance transactions without having to pay the full cost of the merchandise
at the time of the purchase. A common form of consumer credit is a credit card account issued by a
financial institution. Merchants may also provide financing for products which they sell. Banks may
directly finance purchases through loans and mortgages. Consumers imperatively rely on credit, so it
is necessary that credit laws help protect the consumer. I will discuss some of the major credit laws
that impact the consumer, examine whether these laws are working, and talk about possible changes
that might be needed to make sure the consumer is rightly protected.

Congress. It protects consumers obtaining credit to finance their transactions, ensures that adequate

terms to consumers. The Consumer Credit Protection Act also protects consumers from loan sharks,
restricts the garnishing of wages, and established the National Commission on Consumer Finance to

Candide By Voltaire And The Song `` Pursuit Of Happiness...
Throughout history people have been looking for something that made life special, spectacular, or one
of a kind. Today, this search is known to the world as the pursuit of happiness . The phrase use was
heightened during the enlightenment period and lingered for long after. This impact of its use did not
only impact the way life was looked at but also impacted the arts during that time and for the future.
Two pieces that show this evidence is the novel Candide by Voltaire and the song Pursuit of Happiness
by Kid Cudi. Both of these works, even though they were published more than two centuries apart,
carry the theme of the pursuit of happiness. These pieces are evidence of the unchanging pursuit that
mankind goes through.
The beginning of the pursuit is where both of the stories start off. Where the characters get a taste of
what they believe to be pure happiness . In Kid Cudi s song, the narrator finds what they believe to be
happiness in drugs and alcohol. Crush a bit, little bit, roll it up take a hit... I don t care hand on the
wheel, drivin drunk I m doin my thing. (AZ Lyrics) However, in Voltaire s Candide, the character
Cunegonde starts an infection of the search in the other character through the observation of Pangloss,
her teacher, giving her mother s chambermaid a lesson in natural experimental philosophy (3 Voltaire)
in the park. She was filled with the desire to be learned; dreaming that she might well be a sufficient
reason for young Candide, and he

Effects Of Sodium Chloride On Thikistrodesmus Algae Growth
Title
Sodium Chloride Acts as Environmental Pollutant by Prohibiting Ankistrodesmus Algae Growth
Introduction
Pollution negatively effects an organism s growth because it introduces harmful chemicals or products
that cause damage to its environment. The environmental pollution experiment that was performed
tested the effects of pollutants, more specifically sodium chloride, on Ankistrodesmus, which is a
species of fresh water algae. The experiment investigated the effects of different concentrations of
sodium chloride to examine if it promoted or suppressed Ankistrodesmus growth. The importance of
this experiment was to determine if sodium chloride could be classified as a pollutant for this species
of algae. Experiments conducted in 1968 show ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Data collected over a period of two weeks indicates that sodium chloride prohibits Ankistrodesmus
growth since optical density measurements of each test tube were recorded in a table as well as graph
(Figures 1 and 2). The data shown in this table and graph show that although the Ankistrodesmus
algae grew slightly at some points, overall it decreased in optical density, which means sodium
chloride prevented its growth. This conclusion can also be drawn from the average net gain/losses of
optical densities table and graph. The data collected indicates that the Ankistrodesmus grew more in
the 50% sodium chloride solution, which was treatment group 3 (Figure 4). However, this cannot be
acknowledged since Day 14 s test tube readings were taken using another group s setup.
Consequently, only readings from Day 0 and Day 7 are accurate and usable. Even though treatment
group 3 s data is unreliable it s only one result and accounting this group still leaves treatment groups
1 and 2. By comparing treatment groups 1 and 2 to the control group one can easily conclude that the
optical densities of the two treatment groups decrease (Figures 3 and 4). This indicates that as the
concentrations of sodium chloride increases then the overall growth of algae decreases. Therefore, one
can conclude that from the readings sodium chloride prohibits Ankistrodesmus algae

The play Blues for Mister Charlie, of James Baldwin was a successful theatrical play. It has been
famous because of the plot s capturing scheme and because of its playwrights clever ways of stating
everyday issues in sharp and clever manner. According to Mark Blankenships, some plays grapple
with history; however some feel like history themselves. Blues for Mister Charlie, a 1964 drama by
James Baldwin, is a part of history replayed as clearly and vividly as possible. The play was inspired
by the execution of Emmett Till, an African American boy whose white attackers went free without

To make a brief idea about the story, Blues for Mister Charlie is based on the case of Emmett Till, a
young black man who was killed in Mississippi in 1955 for whistling at a white woman. The murderer
was subsequently found not guilty. The play is cyclical in its structure; which means that it opens and
closes with the killing of Richard while occasionally giving a series of flashbacks to clarify the
reasons for Richard s death. This structure critics believe allows a lot of room for a focus on issues
such as race, discrimination, and Christianity. From very early in the play a person can understand
what is on Mr. Baldwin s mind. For there he tells you that his play is dedicated to the memory of
Medgar Evers, and his widow and his children, and to the memory of the dead children of
Birmingham. The title also brings the person watching up to date of Mr. Baldwin s standpoint. Mister
Charlie is the phrase the Negro uses for the white man. Baldwin s play tells the story for white man s
issues with morality as well as for Negro s irritation, belittlement, and misery; closer to the end of the
play he makes this point artistically with a cutting sharpness. The dignified Rev. Meridian Henry,
pastor of the Negro church in a small Southern town, goes on to raise the question to the one decent
white man named Parnell: Have they been friends because Parnell thinks of Meridian as his favorite
Uncle Tom? And then the minister warns that truth must be faced for the white man s

  • 2. A Summary Of The Scarlett Letter And The Scarlet Letter As humans, we all develop a sense of knowing the difference between acceptable and unacceptable. Consequently, that could be a simple task, but society has illustrated the difference between right and wrong is a blurred line. In society, some may claim that unplanned pregnancy is a dreadful situation. Others may declare that unplanned pregnancy in the same scenario, is a gift and it s one s decision. In the novel The Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne and the film Easy A, written by Bert Royal and directed by Will Gluck, in both stories incorporate the reflection of what defines a woman s identity by how both characters are too sexually free. Hester Prynne, the main character in The Scarlet Letter, found herself in a challenging situation after having her daughter named Pearl from the crime of adultery. When Pearl was born, Hester is forced to deal with judgmental townspeople in front of her daughter, including teaching her daughter how to respond to them. Conversely Olive in the film Easy A idolizes Hester in The Scarlet Letter. Olive tells lies about her fake actions to draw attention to herself. So she decides to completely change her clothing style to a more adult lingerie look. She also a felt cut out of the A just like Hester on her clothing to symbolize adultery. In the pieces of literature, the women are written to be the scapegoats of their respective communities due to their choices in engaging in sexual interactions. In the novel The Scarlet Letter, Hester ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Counting 3300 employees it is one of the only wool processing plants in the country. The company is specialized in various types of activities which form more than 30 separate units that act as smaller businesses, every one with its own hierarchy and a strong up to down administration, with well defined rules and procedures. Every department is characterized by highly knowledge employees that are specialized in a very narrow market niche. Even thou the company offers a wide set of items, from woolen blankets to screens and felts for paper machines, the production has suffered from the serious losses that affected the industry. The shared and processed knowledge over the time will serve a strategic competitive advantage for the organization. Russian managers should listen to Francis Bacon that once said: knowledge is power. • 4. Nuclear Rocket Research Papers July 20th, 1969. The day man landed on the moon. At 20:18 UTC Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin made their historical landing on the lunar Sea of Tranquility and made the first footsteps on our celestial neighbour. Almost eight years prior President John F. Kennedy made his proclamation to the American people, that we would land on the moon. Despite the success the task was an enormous one. To launch a fiveteen ton capsule, send it to the moon, and then land it back on Earth was very costly. Even now, half a century later, launching any chemical rocket is very costly and very inefficient. There have been a multitude of ideas that have been proposed to alleviate the cost and increase the efficiency of the rockets and one of the more promising, albeit risky, methods is the use of nuclear power. A rockets is more or less a controlled explosion. This explosion is directed through a nozzle that accelerates the super hot gas and creates a huge amount of thrust. This thrust is what lifts super heavy rockets into space. This is basically how a chemical rocket works. Unfortunately, do to the nature of an explosion there are two very important materials that are required for any explosion to occur. These components, fuel and oxygen, are combined to create a combustion and thus thrust. There is a major drawback to this. Spacecraft operate in space and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This could not be further from the truth. Nuclear power production is a dangerous field that could have extremely negative side effects if it is used wrong, but over that past five decades we have greatly honed our skill of harnessing the atom to accomplish more productive tasks than negative. There are various forms of nuclear power that run at an assortment of efficiency level; however we humans only really have access to one form and it so happens to be the worst. Analysis Of The Movie King Arthur King Arthur: Legend of the Sword Guy Ritchie The action packed movie King Arthur: Legend of the Sword directed by Guy Ritchie, also directed popular films, Sherlock Holmes, Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows and The Man from U.N.C.L.E. King Arthur: Legend of the Sword is an exhilarating movie which always has you sat on the edge of your seat as the movie is so intense and action packed as it always has something going on whether it be a fight scene or Arthur being told something about his father and his family. King Arthur was a child who was too young to know what happened to his parents as at a young age his parent (Uther Pendragon) the king at the time was killed by Vortigern (Arthur s uncle) due to want of power as he wanted to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There were some points in the movie when it got confusing such as when King Vortigern made a deal with 3 creatures under his castle where the King has to sacrifice a loved one to become powerful yet the story does not reveal who these creatures are and how they are able to give the King such power. Not even the mage who fights to help Arthur become king tells us who is making Vortigern so powerful. My favourite scene in the movie is the montage of Arthur growing up as a child it shows him being taken into care in the tavern and making friends, learning how to fight then going to adult life when he works and steals for money and will do anything to help his friends and family who helped him since he was a child, along with the music with the sped up scene it goes well together and shows the viewers that Arthur has a nightmare every night about his father dying although he cannot remember exactly what happened. It shows what type of person he is when the montage of him growing up shows him storing away money in boxes behind a wall, no one knows why he was saving all this ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Why Is Lying Acceptable Is Lying Acceptable? Getting people to tell the truth can never be easy, but lying can never be as easy either. Lying will never solve anything, you should always take responsibility for your consequences. In some cases, lying can be okay, on the other hand lying was never what so ever justified. Telling the truth would be better, though more times lying is just easier and causes people from getting hurt. It can also be hard to get people to face the truth sometimes. Lying can be acceptable when protecting someone s feelings. To begin with, lying to keep someone from harm or from hurting their feelings can sometimes be acceptable. In the AP lpsos, percent of those questioned said it was sometimes OK to lie to avoid hurting someone s feelings, even though 52 percent said lying, overall, was never justified (NBCNEWS, 2006). People who say lying is wrong are often in abstract. Very little of people would admit to thinking it is ok to lie on a resume. Not to mention, lying can make people not believe you or not trust you as much anymore once they find out. Every single lie has its cost, (NBCNEWS, 2006). People tell all kinds of lies every day to protect someone s feelings and most of the times lies are just told in different ways. They ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 8. Impact Of Digital Technology On Children Lunar Singsomphone English 105 014 Fall 2017 The Impact of Digital Technology on Today s Children In a world dominated by technology, it is appropriate for adults to have concerns about the impact it is having on children. While most of this concern does stem from the experiences of their own childhood when there was less technology, more play time outside, and life was just simply much easier, the fact of the matter is that the children today and the future generations to come are going to grow up in a technological realm. Today, children as young as four years old, are regularly using digital technology on multiple different platforms such as the Internet, mobile devices, and gaming consoles. A 2013 Nielsen Connected Devices report found that in households that have a tablet and/or computer and with children under 12 years of age, 70% of the children used the tablet; 70% of those children used it for entertainment purposes, and 57% used the tablet for educational purposes. The report, of course, raises the obvious question of rather or not early exposure of digital technology can have negative effects on child development especially regarding their brains. In truth, there is no easy answer because like most things in life, there are both good and bad attributes to it and the exact same thing can be applied in this situation. For instance, while technology can be used for positive educational purposes, there are also serious psychological concerns. The digital technology ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In fact Penrose (2000) found that while large companies with ample financial resources may have a chance of survival following a crisis without a crisis plan, 80 percent of smaller lesser known companies without a comprehensive crisis plan vanish within two years of suffering a major disaster. My approach is to develop the best crisis approach through communication. Crisis communication usually has a variety of goals some of which conflict but the most important and universal it to reduce, and contain harm. My next step is calling all organization so they can identify the hazard they face, my first phone call would be the (MDCH) Michigan health community department, and then hopefully they will contact the (American Biological Safety Association). • 11. Nuclear Explosion During The Cold War The occurrence of the explosion was a direct effect of Cold War isolation and the subsequent lack of safety regulations. From its beginning the Soviet nuclear effort, primarily focused on making an atomic bomb, was done with complete disregard for human life. Run by skilled, determined and callous managers, the nuclear industry did not take human life into account if such concerns did not serve the task at hand. And, like many of the Soviet s projects, the emerging nuclear industry was covered in secrecy, with little to no information of what was going on made public. This was mainly due to the fact they wanted to conceal any plans from their enemies, such as the United States. The Soviet government also wanted to control the scientists and ... • 12. Hyaline Cartilage Osteoarthritis, also known as degenerative joint disease, affects around 26 million Americans (Litwic 2013). It is an inflammation of the joints resulting from cartilage degradation. Cartilage is a firm connective tissue that is made up of chondrocytes that produce an extracellular matrix made up of collagen fibers, chondroitin sulfate, and elastin fibers. It forms rapidly, but it is avascular so there are no blood vessels running through it to provide the chondrocyte cells with oxygen and nutrients. To obtain nutrients, the nutrients diffuse through a connective tissue that surrounds cartilage called the perichondrium, in order to reach the center of the cartilage. Due to this avascular factor, self repair of cartilage is much slower than ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In osteoarthritis of the fingers (not including the thumb), it usually affects the Distal Interphalangeal joint which connects the distal and middle phalanges. It causes swelling and deformation in the area, usually appearing first on the index and middle fingers, then progressing to the remaining fingers (Joints Affected by OA 04/20/17). Osteoarthritis develops in the fingers after heavy joint use involved with gripping heavy objects. Osteoarthritis in the thumb occurs at the base of the thumb, where the Carpometacarpal joint joins the Trapezium and Metacarpal 1. Osteoarthritis in the thumb is deemed to be more common than that of other fingers due to the nature of opposable thumbs in humans. This is the joint that enables people to swivel, pivot, and pinch with their hands in order to grip things (Osteoarthritis of Fingers 04/20/17). Since gripping is an important everyday movement and there is only one thumb as opposed to the remaining four fingers, the thumb is exposed to more wear and tear. The pain that settles with osteoarthritis in the fingers occurs directly in the affected areas. Any previous fractures or injuries to these joints increase the chances of osteoarthritis in the fingers because those will have had already weakened the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Alice, a normal teenage girl, goes through quantum land and understands what quantum is and how it works. The quantum world is a difficult one to understand, as its nature is one of complex states of being, natures, principles, notions, and the like. When these principles or concepts are compared with the macro world, one can find great similarities and even greater dissimilarities between the world wherein electrons rule, and the world wherein human beings live. Superposition is a principle of quantum theory that describes a challenging concept about the nature and behavior of matter and forces at the sub atomic level. The principle of superposition claims that while we do not know what the state of any object is, it is actually in all possible states simultaneously, as long as we don t look to check. It is the measurement itself that causes the object to be limited to a single possibility. In the novel, the mechanic mentions to Alice the Schrodinger experiment. This experiment was analogous to superposition in the macro world. Schrodinger s experiment was to put a cat, flask of poisonous glass, and a mechanism to break the flask should substance decay in a closed box. Mechanic then stated that the substance may or may not decay, therefore, according to the rules of quantum physics you would have a superposition of states, in some of which the decay would have happened and in others it would not. And with more and more people using the Internet, more and more information being passed over the Internet, more problems arise. The Internet has been an advantage in technology that has greatly increased the capacities of a computer. These new capacities have been the cause of some serious problems though. One very important trouble is the lack of privacy on the Internet. People pass so much important information over the Internet and they expect it to be safe from others. Information passed over the Internet can in fact be intercepted and read by other people. For many years, people have been oblivious to the lack of privacy with more and more information being passed through, people want something to ensure their privacy. In Shakespeare s Othello, there is one character in Iago that fulfills all of these qualifications. Iago is a wonderful villain because he gains other s trust, relentlessly takes advantage of his peers flaws, and unapologetically causes the deaths of his counterparts in order to achieve his goals. This comfort is shown in his willingness to talk about Desdemona when the two are on night patrol. This reliance was something Iago exploited each time he had a chance. Every time a desire was expressed, Iago was there with a solution that always benefited Iago in the end. For instance, it was Iago that suggested to Roderigo that he attempt to kill Cassio in order to get Desdemona to be interested in him. It was also Iago s work in stoking up the fires of revenge in Othello s belly regarding the affair between Desdemona and Cassio. For each situation, every word that was said was for the advancement of Iago and the destruction of all others. Iago also acts as a contributor to each character s flaws in the play. For example, in act two, Iago influences Cassio to have some drinks in order to start a quarrel between Cassio and Roderigo. In another example, in act three, Iago gets Othello to believe that there is an affair between Desdemona and Cassio by building on the suspicions and doubts that Othello had before Iago even spoke to him. What are the harmful effects of bad ozone and what is being done to reduce the ozone pollution? Introduction: Ozone also known as O3, is a colorless toxic gas formed by three oxygen atoms. The ozone occurs in the Earth s upper atmosphere, the stratosphere and in the lower atmosphere, the troposphere. The ozone can affect life in a good or bad way. Good ozone is in the upper atmosphere and occurs naturally, it has a protective layer that helps block harmful ultraviolet rays (EPA.Gov). Stratospheric ozone is formed naturally and it is about 6 through 30 miles above the Earth s surface and it also reduces the amount of harmful UV rays. Bad ozone is created by chemical reactions of oxides of nitrogen (NOx) and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) (EPA.Gov). Today, this search is known to the world as the pursuit of happiness . The phrase use was heightened during the enlightenment period and lingered for long after. This impact of its use did not only impact the way life was looked at but also impacted the arts during that time and for the future. Two pieces that show this evidence is the novel Candide by Voltaire and the song Pursuit of Happiness by Kid Cudi. Both of these works, even though they were published more than two centuries apart, carry the theme of the pursuit of happiness. These pieces are evidence of the unchanging pursuit that mankind goes through. The beginning of the pursuit is where both of the stories start off. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Data collected over a period of two weeks indicates that sodium chloride prohibits Ankistrodesmus growth since optical density measurements of each test tube were recorded in a table as well as graph (Figures 1 and 2). The data shown in this table and graph show that although the Ankistrodesmus algae grew slightly at some points, overall it decreased in optical density, which means sodium chloride prevented its growth. This conclusion can also be drawn from the average net gain/losses of optical densities table and graph. The data collected indicates that the Ankistrodesmus grew more in the 50% sodium chloride solution, which was treatment group 3 (Figure 4). However, this cannot be acknowledged since Day 14 s test tube readings were taken using another group s setup. Consequently, only readings from Day 0 and Day 7 are accurate and usable. Even though treatment group 3 s data is unreliable it s only one result and accounting this group still leaves treatment groups 1 and 2. By comparing treatment groups 1 and 2 to the control group one can easily conclude that the optical densities of the two treatment groups decrease (Figures 3 and 4). This indicates that as the concentrations of sodium chloride increases then the overall growth of algae decreases.
