Introduction Today a lot of people use technology such as computers, smartphones, and tablets to get
information, to buy something, and to communicate with family and friends. Since technology has
been developed, people s lives have also been changed. One of the examples is that many companies
have started to sell their products through the Internet and customers look for goods and buy them on
the Internet. Before technology was developed, people had to go to stores to purchase products.

However, the day before I left for Orlando, I realized that my car s condition was not great to go to the
Omaha airport. The time when I realized it was already around midnight, and I had to go to the Omaha
airport in the early morning. I did not have time to reserve a rental car and pick it up the next morning.
Fortunately, I found a friend who would go to the Grand Island airport the next morning, and I asked
him to take me to the airport. I immediately booked a one way flight ticket from Grand Island to
Orlando with Expedia. I did not cancel my previous round trip flight tickets because I already bought
a returning ticket from Orlando to Omaha. Even though I canceled the flight tickets, I could not gain
all amounts of the fare of the ticket. Therefore, I decided that I would come back from Orlando to
Omaha with my original flight plan. However, when I went back from Orlando to Omaha and I
checked out at the Orlando airport, one of the staff said my flight ticket was canceled and I had to pay
other a few dollars in order to take the same plane. I was so angry that even though I did not cancel
my flight, it was automatically canceled and I needed to pay for my flight ticket again. I thought it was
ridiculous. I claimed that I did not cancel my flight tickets, but she said it was canceled because I did
not ride on my original flight plan. Reluctantly, I paid for my flight again. I thought

Apollo 13
INTRODUCTION
Apollo 13, the 1995 motion picture directed by Ron Howard, is the true story of Jim Lovell, Fred
Haise, and Jack Swigert, a team of astronauts reassigned to a space flight with diminished preparation
time. This routine mission to the moon suddenly becomes a survival mission to safely return home to
Earth. The film details the circumstances affecting two separate but cohesive teams. The purpose of
this case analysis is to identify the critical events, explain the underlying causes of why these events
happened, and draw logical conclusions about the teams¡¯ performances as related to effective
teamwork and leadership.

In this portion of the analysis, both evidence and inference will be used to examine the stages of group
development, the GRP¡úI Model, and team leadership.
The Forming Stage Both teams in the film progress through the four stages of group development;
forming, norming, storming and performing; however, not much emphasis is placed on the initial
forming stage. In the beginning of the film during a party celebrating the first successful moon landing
of Apollo 11, Lovell, Haise and Mattingly appear to have a working/social relationship as they have
already been slated as the team to fly the future Apollo 14 mission. It is inferred that these men have
previously been through the forming stage as the film does not depict a formal introduction of the
team members to each other.
The Norming Stage In the norming stage, the Apollo 13 crew is faced with creating cohesion and
unity, differentiating roles, identifying expectations and enhancing commitment (Whetten Cameron,
2005). Due to Alan Shepherd¡¯s ear infection, however, the crew is bumped up to a mission ahead of
schedule, allowing only six months of actual preparation. The training sequences within the film, as
well as Mattingly¡¯s commitment for accuracy and precision, are clear indicators that the crew is
going through the norming stage. When Mattingly is unexpectedly scrubbed from the mission, and
Swigert is moved up into his place, the crew is forced to revert back to the forming stage. The crew,

Examples Of John Proctor In The Crucible
John Proctor; Tragic Hero or Ordinary Joe Plays have been used as a method of storytelling and form
of entertainment for hundreds of years. A tragedy is one type of play where the audience pities the
characters and fear the same consequences that the characters face. In addition, tragedies often include
a tragic hero who has a tragic flaw causing his or her downfall. One example of a play that is a tragedy
and includes a tragic hero is the The Crucible. John Proctor in The Crucible is a true tragic hero
because he possess the four characteristics of goodness, superiority, tragic flaw, and realization of his
downfall. In order to be a true tragic hero, the protagonist must be a moral and ethical person. Proctor

Together with having extensive land, Proctor´s crops were doing considerably well compared to other
farmers (Act 2). Not all farmers in the region are lucky and suffer from crop failures. Because of his
successful harvest and land, Proctor is considered superior and privileged in the Salem community.
Therefore, Proctor is a tragic hero because he holds the characteristics of superiority. One cannot be a
tragic hero with a tragic flaw. This flaw will lead to the downfall of the protagonist. Proctor s tragic
flaw is his inability to avoid temptation. Specifically, Proctor gave into temptation of Abigail. In Act 1,
Abigail confronts Proctor about his nightly visits to Abigail s window. Proctor agrees that he has been
visiting Abigail, owing to that he can not avoid the temptation of Abigail. Although Abigail and him
are no longer seeing each other, Proctor cannot stay away from Abigail and gives into temptation to
visit Abigail. Another example that demonstrates Proctor s inability to avoid temptation is when
Proctor confesses to the court about his relationship with Abigail (Act 2). In court, Proctor could have
kept the court oblivious to the fact that he and Abigail had a relationship, instead as a last resort,
Proctor gave into the temptation and informed the court. In the process Proctor also ruined his name in
the community. By giving into temptation, Proctor caused his own demise. Tragic heroes eventually

Dbq Antebellum Reform Movement Essay
In the 1820 s to the 1850 s, the Antebellum Reform Movement was created. It was an act of
improvement, and self change. Reform movements in the United States sought to expand democratic
ideals. This quote is true because, democratic ideals are what the people want and a democracy is
where people rule the government. Reform movements were created by the Second Great Awakening
and it is where people tried to improve their lives. For example, no alcohol, expanding education,
separating themselves from utopias, and womens suffrage. All these examples are ways to improve
oneself, and spread democratic ideals.
The Temperance Movement was created in the 19th and early 20th centuries. It was an organization to

The women s suffrage movement, was the women s right by law to vote in elections. The movement
was especially big in the United States and in Britain. The abolition movement caused the rise of the
women s suffrage movement and Lucretia Mott, Elizabeth Cady Stanton, the Grimke Sisters and Lucy
Stone who were all women s rights activists, also sparked the cause of the suffrage movement. Mott
and Stanton organized the Seneca Falls Convention in 1848, which was a place to discuss women s
rights. By 1918, women had won the right to vote in 15 states in the U.S. Stanton stated, ... to declare
our right to be free as man is free, to be represented in the government which we are taxed to support,
to have such disgraceful laws as give man the power to chastise and imprison his wife... (Doc. K).
Men aren t better than women. Men and women should be equal, and they should both have the right
to vote. This reform movement really helped expand democratic ideals because the women s suffrage
movement was a success, and all the strong, female leaders also really helped to expand this idea

How Do Magazine Advertisements Affect Women
Women are the main targets in magazine advertisements; they take advantage and manipulate the
female beauty and their bodies by making it overrated. The societies expectation of women have
harmed us and our generation. Consequently, there are over millions of magazine sold because of the
way companies diminish the female gender. It affects women greatly by limiting their abilities to take
bigger and risky steps in life. The advertisement images only teach us and influence little children that
women should have little value, the ideal female beauty, and gain disrespect for women. In the
American society advertisements expose the female body in a negative way because it influences

American Indians And Europeans Americans
American Indians verses Europeans Europeans came over to America in 1492 changing the way the
Natives lived forever. These natives were living peaceful and happy lives. The Europeans came over
to these innocent people s land who were minding their own business; calling them savages, killed
their people, and destroying the perfect lives they once had. There are many accounts recorded on how
the Indians and Europeans felt about the discovery of America. The Natives believed they had a very
sophisticated society before the Europeans showed up; but the Europeans believed the natives did not
know how to live and that they need their help to learn how to live the correct and godly way. With
these in mind there is no way these two cultures could live in harmony unless they both decided to
learn from one another. The problem with this is the Europeans never gave the natives the chance to
have their own beliefs and the Natives could never teach the Europeans what they knew because the
Europeans believed everything the natives did was wrong. The Europeans believed the Indians were
lazy, non deserving savages who were on land that was given to the Europeans by God. They thought
that God had taken them to the new land because they were running out of resources in Europe. The
Europeans saw the Natives as a resource along with everything they had on the new land. I understood
sufficiently from other Indians, whom I had already taken that this land was nothing but an island

Post-Modernism In International Relations
Post Modernsism is a very important and essential theory that has been brought about to the study of
international relations. It falls under the category of post positivism, which is a rejection of positivism
in the sense that it dismisses the notion that international relations can be observed in an objective
manner. Other theories encompassed in the post positivism umbrella include constructivism, neo
marxism, critical theory, feminism, and post colonialism (Burchill 2013). Post Modernism also
brought about new perspectives to international relations, these include: arbitrary nature of modernity,
choice posing as truth, reality as a social construction, the rejection of positivism, the crisis of
modernity, loss of confidence in the authority of the grand narratives, its relation to language, and the
process of identity construction. Also, notably, Post Modernism may receive criticism from
constructivism and realism, but ultimately arguments for Post Modernism will make more logical
sense within the international relations arena. Lastly, Post Modernism is essential because of it s
unique views in ideas such as language, abstract views, etc., to better understand political activity
within the international relations community. First and foremost, Post Modernism has added some
very fresh and important factors to theorists in international relations. Post Modernism is more
specific than its predecessors because it critiques the Enlightenment project as whole, specifically

Ethics And Ethics Of Ethics
With the Repo 105 manipulation, assets and liabilities were reduced at the reporting date, and the
leverage ratio was decreased as well because the numerator and the denominator of that ratio are
reduced by the same amount. As a result, Lehman Brothers declared bankruptcy and former officials
of Lehman brothers have agreed to pay $90 million to settle a shareholder lawsuit.
We can refer from the two previous examples that ethics education is crucial. The main reason for
ethics education is that ethics courses and training would help students, who are going to become
future managers and business decision makers, to resolve such ethical dilemmas correctly. As we
know that most dilemmas often have multiple decision criteria. Business ethics classes would help
students to realize which decision criteria lead to a preference for a given decision alternative. Besides
helping future business players, another important reason for education of ethics is the fact that it is
inescapable. Without the existence and appreciation of ethics and the codes of conduct, the world will
be at lost and have no ways of assessing what is desirable and adds to the public wellness, and what is
sabotaging the social standards. Having the code of ethics is not merely a way to secure survivability
of the company, but also helps the company to make the right decisions in dilemmas and expressing
commitments to the society. Similar to the discussions of social responsibilities that companies should

Air Pollution in China Essay
Air Pollution in China
When people think about air pollution, the things that come to their mind are smog, acid rain, and
other forms of outdoor air pollution. Air Pollution is not a new topic. It is a problem that we have
noticed since the industrial revolution, when trees, houses and cars were covered in soot from the
factories. Every year, chemical substances present in the air within buildings affect the healths of
thousands of people. The definition of air pollution is The presence in the atmosphere of one or more

The Twin Of Twin Transfusion Syndrome ( Ttts )
INTRODUCTION:
Twin to twin transfusion syndrome (TTTS) is a rare disease occurring in 10 15% of monochorionic
diamniotic twin gestations in which vascular connections are shared between the fetuses via a
common placenta1, 2, 3. A theoretical imbalance in the vascular distribution creates a shift in
circulation causing one fetus to receive a surplus in volume, the recipient, and the other to be
deficient, the donor4, 5. TTTS can present at any gestational age6 and can progress in severity causing
significant morbidity, especially to the recipient, and even demise of one or both twins1, 2, 6. Classic
ultrasonic markers of TTTS have been well described as an amniotic fluid imbalance between the
twins2. Several staging systems have been ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

One strategy is privatization, and it is intended to encourage governments in low income countries to
lease their public water operation over to private corporations. Most of these companies are large
global conglomerates with no previous involvement in the country where they would operate. A series
of P3 contracts for water utilities have been established in many developing countries. For instance in
Cancun, Mexico, concessions were awarded to private foreign water operators. In 1991, prior to the
P3 arrangement, the public water supply was limited to serving six million people. After the
implementation of the partnership, the private operators were able to increase water services to ninety
three million by 2000 (Marin, 2009).
Overview of Cochabamba and the P3 Water Agreement
Cochabamba is a city located in a valley at the foothills of the Andean mountain range, 8,000 feet
high, in the country of Bolivia. In 1950, Cochabamba s population was 75,000, and it topped 500,000
in 2001. Given limited annual rainfall, compounded by increased population growth, in 2001 the
community faced significant water challenges (Shultz, 2008). In addition, Cochabamba was faced
with a high level of poverty among residents, and a government that was continually going into debt
(Forero, 2005).

Arthur Eddington s My Son, The Prince Of Fashion

The Economist s article The most beautiful theory discusses Albert Einstein s theory of general
relativity. It explains the origins of general relativity through Einstein s initial thought experiments
that eventually led to the realization that the university functions in four dimensions ( three spatial
dimensions, one temporal one ) and that mass curved space time, creating gravity. Over time, Einstein
s theory was verified by observations, such as those made by Arthur Eddington when he noticed the
skew of light around the sun during an eclipse, which could only have been due to distorted space
time. His theory has also been expanded over the years as physicists try to combine general relativity

clothes and despite any teasing and mocking he encounters because of his style. Abe has an impressive
and commendable ability to stand out and withstand the scrutiny and criticism that accompanies such

scrutiny ). Ironically, though, Chabon expresses the most important message of the article through the
one fashion show to which he did not accompany his son. It was the show his son loved the most,
precisely because Chabon, his minder (which he purposefully calls himself throughout the article),

finally cured the intense solitude of his passion that he suffered at home, amid friends and family that
did not share, or really understand, his passion. In Chabon s words you are born into a family and

There were many disputes between Angkor and its neighbouring states, such as the kingdom of
Champa to the east. The purpose of raiding fellow cities was not to dispute fear or warning, but purely
to expand the empire. The kings after Jayavarman II followed the path of their predecessor and
engaged in territorial wars. They invaded rival kingdoms and took control. One ruler, Suryavarman I
directed his military to the west and expanded the empire to Ayutthaya (Thailand and Laos). The
efforts of Jayavarman II and his successors to invade neighbouring kingdoms and seize control
allowed the empire to expand and rise successfully to power above the entire Khmer region.
During the beginning of its formation, the empire relied largely on the isolated and protected area it
resided in to build and develop the empire further. It was situated in the North of Tolne Sap Lake, in
an area later known as Angkor. Its location was strategically chosen, therefore would serve as the seat

In today s society, turning off has become nearly an impossible task. As beneficial as modern
technological advancements are, they have made our world fast paced and constantly interconnected.
Emails, Snapchats and tweets, just to name a few, are sent twenty four seven, making it a challenge for
people to shut out the world around them and take some time for themselves. Moreover, these
advancements contribute to society s push to say yes constantly; yes to opting to do more work, and
yes to responding to notifications immediately. Celebrity Lena Dunham, however, is protesting this
aspect of society. She has decided to make use of the word no more often in 2016, and encourages
women in the working world to do the same. Dunham explains that the cycle of working,
compromising relationships with others and continuing to work more has caused her to suffer greatly.
She feels that the need to always be in tune with the world pushes and pushes people until they,
essentially, crack. In hopes of resolving this, she is urging women to take their own happiness more
into account. Therefore, along with the use of the word no, Dunham raises the point that ... Show more

The Life of Fidel Castro
Fidel Alejandro Castro Ruz, born in Birán, Cuba on August 13, 1926, changed his country ever since
he came to power. Castro s father, Ángel Castro y Argiz, was a wealthy plantation owner and was an
immigrant from Galicia, Spain. His mother, Lina Ruz González, was Ángel s mistress and house
servant while Ángel was still married to Maria Luisa Argota. Castro was educated in many Jesuit
boarding schools, from grade school to middle school, in which he was a mediocre student and was
not well behaved, only focusing on playing sports. Although Castro attended a religious boarding
school, it did not affect him in any way and was still getting into trouble as a young child. After Castro
graduated from high school he studied law at the University of Havana. In his classes, he became very
fond of anti imperialism, socialism, and the political climate of Cuban nationalism, which had helped
him while in power. On February 16,1959, Fidel Alejandro Ruz Castro was sworn in as Prime
Minister of Cuba. Castro secretly started to turn to Communism. He wanted to nationalize plantations
and factories. The U.S. is known for its strong opinion on democracy, so when the U.S. heard this, it
caused lots of friction between Cuba and the U.S. so Castro denied that he wanted to control Cuba as a
communist. Castro then signed the First Agrarian Reform Law, which prohibited foreigners from
owning land in Cuba while also only allowing 993 acres of land per citizen. Castro was then trying to

Descriptive Essay About Eddie Van Halen
For as long as I can remember, my dad always had his music playing. In the car, in the house,
everywhere. In time, his music became my music; and it still is. Though my dad s music taste was
vast, his staple was Van Halen. Little did I know how much that band would shape me as a person.
While most fans were in love with David Lee Roth, (the singer) I was all about Eddie Van Halen; the
greatest guitarist in the world. The greatest because to me, he isn t just a guitarist. He s an innovator, a
genius, and one of my biggest role models. While I think all art is powerful, it s all subjective, and to
me, Eddie Van Halen is the perfect example to why art is so powerful. For he has created the passion,
perseverance, and creativity that lives inside me today.
From the moment I heard the majestic scream of Eddie Van Halen s guitar, I knew I had to learn how
to play guitar. I was but only a listener at the time, but the passion of a musician budded within me,
and locked my vicarious attention on every note. The more I listened to Van Halen, the more I wanted
to stop being a listener, and start being a creator. It was like some insane urge came over me every
time I listened to them telling me to create something. It was a musical high.
I got my first guitar when I was 11 years old. (When the addiction began) Even though I wasn t very
good, each new thing I learned, pushed me to learn more. No amount of skills and knowledge was

where the main girl Allison is being attacked and James stabs the guy. Blood pours from the guys neck
all over the girl. The visuals of this scene were absolutely throw up provoking, it really displayed the
feelings of the scene for all characters. Another issue that I found with the show, is that the cast is
British. The lingo and vocabulary was different than that of my culture, and I found myself,
sometimes not quite understanding what was said. I didn t know any of the cast members, so it was a
little difficult to find a relation between myself and them. The advantage of having a cast of unknown
actors and actresses, is that an audience member doesn t have a relation to another movie with that
character. For example. When viewing Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls, Jim Carrey portrays a very
whacky and goofy individual, but when viewing The Number 23, I find it much harder to take Jim
Carrey seriously in a drama/thriller

The Negative Impact Of The Puritan Society In The Crucible
The Puritans were a religious minority group who believed that the Church of England needed to be
purified of the influence of Catholicism. The basis for the Puritan s belief was an emphasis on the
righteousness and sovereignty of God. They believed God directed all things by exercise, and directed
all things to an intelligent end. In the Puritan life they believed in staying true to the divine law but
doing everything in moderation. The Crucible shows the exact opposite of what the Puritan life is
supposed to be like. Some people had to suffer execution because of the rumors that were spread
throughout the community. In The Crucible they experienced things such as false rumors that were
spread throughout Salem. Not only did the things that they did cause turmoil, but it also caused a
negative impact to the Puritan society as a whole.
Faith was a central part of the Puritan experience, and this is where all other aspects of their society
emerged. In the Puritan Society, religious beliefs shaped early American relationships, between the
parents and their children. Based on their spiritual tribalism, Godly parents were more likely than
ungodly parents to produce Godly children. The New Testament was their model and their devotion so
great that it was spread throughout their entire society.
Great pains were endured to warn their members and especially their children of the dangers of the
world. Reading the bible was a necessity to living a pious life. The education of the next

Delambre, she is at home, waiting for the police and Francois. This was a bit strange for me, as in the
phone she was really nervous, but when they arrived, she was already calm, and talked about the
happenings quite undisturbedly. She seemed so calm, that the doctors confirmed that she had been
mad, so after just a very few days of prison, she was taken to an asylum. Francois has to take care
about her little son Henri. Francois used to visit her on Sundays, and also Charas went there a couple
of times in order to get answers for their questions. She would kindly answer any questions, but when
they asked why she killed her man, she simply answered I cannot answer that question . Later
Francois realized that there has to be some connection with the flies as Henri asked him about the flies
lifespan, and talked about a funny looking fly, which he caught, but had to release, but later had to find
again, as he was told by his mother. He then tells Helene, that the fly she was looking for was at his
study that morning, and she becomes excited. They go out to talk in the garden about the insect, where
he threatens her that if she won t tell the truth about that night, he will tell the information to the police
about that fly. Francois knew the she is not insane, that s why he lied to her. At last he succeeded to
convince her that it is better to tell him the truth, so she called him back to the house, and gave him a

Nietzsches Superman Essay
Though when most people think of superheroes they think of the type with super powers, the original
idea of the superman was developed by Friedrich Nietzsche in the 1800s. The ubermensch (literally
overman in German) never had extra ordinary powers and wasn t developed as the protector of man.
Instead, the superman is a person who has overcome all the flaws of mankind and is essentially
perfect. This idea, though it was thought of as an ideal goal that all people should strive for, has almost
completely been used for less than good agendas. The details of what Nietzsche s superman is
supposed to be and how that compares with how it was used to the advantage of many dictatorships
and other oppressive ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He felt the idea of the superman as well as other Nietzsche writings gave him and the Nazis the right
and the reason to take over what they wished and impose the beliefs they wished. In fact, Hitler
believed himself to be a superman. This belief is evident by the way Hitler acted during his reign as
the leader of the Nazi party. The attempted destruction of the Jewish people as a race was actually
based on writings by Nietzsche. In Hitler s mind the Jews were inferior and therefore no compassion
should be given to them. Hitler, of course, took this once step further and actually killed many of the
weak. During World War II Hitler even issued every German soldier a copy of one of Nietzsche s
writings, Thus Spake Zarathustra. National Socialism and Fascism also spawned from Nietzsche and
his thoughts on society. Nietzsche himself was very much socialist in his beliefs which is evident in
much of what he wrote. Though socialism may seem far from Nietzsche s idea of the superman, it is
actually very close because the ruler is looked at as a superman who makes all decisions and knows
what is best at all times. This can be seen in many societies such as Italy and Germany in World War
II, and to some extent The Soviet Union. In each of these cases the ruling party or man used Nietzsche
s beliefs to rationalize their rampant wars, hatred, and genocide.

Ice Fili Is A Large Scale Domestic Ice Cream Market Essay
Although Ice Fili is a large scale domestic ice cream producer it must compete with other large and
small firms in the overall ice cream industry. To breakdown this dynamic I will begin my report with
an analysis of the overall ice cream industry in Russia, and will then move on to an analysis on Ice Fili
s competitive advantages, and strategy. Lastly after analyzing these two areas I will provide my
recommendations for Ice Fili over the next three to five years.
External Environment Analysis (Five Forces)
Threat of New Entrants: High. In the Russian ice cream market we see competitors of ranging sizes
competing against one another. 30% of the domestic market is made up of regional small scale
producers that have come into the market because it was easy for them to pivot from producing frozen
foods to ice cream with very limited capital. Outside of regional producers foreign ice cream
companies can enter into the Russian ice cream market whenever they so choose by importing their
products to distributors. Foreign companies have been controlled as of late due to instability of the
Russian currency against the U.S dollar, but even with this currency risk some foreign competitors
have been able to survive by making large capital investments, and producing their product within
Russia instead of importing it.
Degree of Rivalry: Medium. The degree of rivalry within the industry is balanced in that a few factors
lend to strong rivalry while a similar amount do not. Because

Logical Fallacy Summary
Logical Fallacy Summary
Stephen s Guide to the Logical Fallacies by Stephen Downes states, the point of an argument is to give
reasons in support of some conclusion . An argument commits a fallacy when the reasons offered do
not, in fact, support the conclusion. Logical fallacies are common errors in reasoning that will
undermine the logic of your argument and do not support the conclusion. Fallacies are described with
a names, definitions, examples, and proofs. The first main fallacy mentioned is a Fallacy of
Distraction . These types of fallacies occur when there are false dilemmas, ignorance, slippery slopes,

Examples of using logical fallacies to appeal to motives rather than support are, appealing to force,
appealing to pity, prejudicial language, consequences, and popularity. The fallacies mentioned in this
section have the practice of appealing to emotions or other psychological factors to attract the reader,
rather than providing true facts and statements. Thirdly, Changing the Subject is another chief fallacy
mechanism. Attacking the person, appealing to authority, anonymous authority, and style over
substance are all examples to changing the topic being talked about. The fallacies in this section occur
when the subject is changed by discussing the person making the argument instead of discussing
reasons as to whether one should believe the conclusion or not. The fourth type of fallacy discussed in
this article are Inductive Fallacies . These fallacies include hasty generalizations, unrepresentative
samples, false analogies, slothful inductions, and excluded information. Inductive reasons have
inferences from parts of a sample to parts of a whole population. Next, there are Fallacies Involving
Statistical Syllogisms . Generalizations of this type can either be

How Is Harrison Bergeron A Dystopian Society
Imagine if we were equal in all ways. Think about being exactly the same in all aspects; the same
haircut, intelligence level, the same routine everyday over and over again. In the short story Harrison
Bergeron by Kurt Vonnegut, it shows us the theme of equality through a futuristic dystopian society,
which can relate to the society we live in today. In the dystopian society, Harrison is an athlete and is
extremely intelligent. He tries to be above equal, therefore he is considered to be extremely dangerous.
Although equality may seem to be a necessary component in a modern progressive society, forced
equality could be harmful to itself by eliminating competition, individuality, and motivation.

Individuality is what makes everyone different, without it we wouldn t be who we are today. Above
all, individuality is what makes us unique. It s what sets us apart from everyone else. Everyone
deserves a chance to express themselves. In the story Harrison Bergeron, it says that the ballerinas,
...were masked so that no one, seeing a free and graceful gesture or a pretty face... (Vonnegut 5)The
main reason that the ballerinas had to wear masks was to eliminate the felling of them making people
feel unequal because they weren t as beautiful as the ballerinas. Another example of individuality
would be the story of Talia Joy. Talia was diagnosed with two types of cancer, neuroblastoma and
leukemia. Due to the cancers, she lost her hair and her hair was what made her feel beautiful. After her
diagnosis, she found another way to express her beauty. The way that she had learned was to express
herself through her makeup. She once said, Make up is my wig. Since she was unable to express her
beauty and individuality through her hair anymore, she directed it through another form, her makeup.
Take pride in what makes you different; individuality is what makes you different form the rest.

Sleep Deprivation And The Sleep
Sleep is a basic necessity of everyday life. According to the National Foundation of sleep, a person is
required to sleep at least seven to nine hours a day. (citation) As mentioned by Matt T. Bianchi in the
book Sleep Deprivation and Disease, The normal quantity of sleep depends on the individual and a
myriad of other factors such as environment and an individual s waking needs. (citation) This means
that the quantity of sleep that people achieve depends on their body s needs and functions.

The percentage decreases after the age of fifty. Both quality and quantity are important when it comes
to sleep. If one fails to acquire the appropriate amount of R.E.M sleep and sleeps less than six hours
everyday for one week, then that person would have a total sleep debt of seven to fourteen hours. The
effects of not sleeping properly can be felt as soon as the next day.
As mentioned before, there are two types of sleep deprivation, partial sleep deprivation and total sleep
deprivation. A person is considered partially sleep deprived if he or she gets less than five hours of
sleep per night. If a person gets less than three hours of sleep per night, then he or she is considered
sleep deprived. Sleep deprivation can either be caused by lifestyle or medical issues. Factors such as
drinking coffee at night, obesity, stress, insomnia, and sleep apnea negatively affect the way one
sleeps. As mentioned previously, sleep deprivation can affect one s physically. Some of these effects
include: obesity, type two diabetes and heart disease. Most of these effects are cyclical. This means
that it is a repeating process.
Obesity is a physical illness which results in the extreme production of fat and cholesterol. Obesity is
an increasing problem in the U.S. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), Obesity has
more than doubled since the 1980 s. In the 2014, six hundred million adults aged eighteen and up,

During the rest of the trip through Montana and on to Alaska, the boys experiences only reinforce their

hitchhiker. Henry just has the girl hop in the car without even asking her where she was headed. When
Henry finds out that the girl needs a ride to Alaska he replied with okay and they continued driving.
We got up there and never wanted to leave (Erdrich, 285). The boys liked the fact that the sun didn t
truly set there in the summer . This gave the boys a sense of continuity and enjoyment. They never
wanted their trip to come to an end.
Eventually the summer came to a close along with their adventure. The two boys came home just in
time for Henry to be reminded that he had signed to join the army a few months previous. When
Henry left for Vietnam a strong sense of reality succumbed Lyman. With Henry being gone, Lyman
took care of the car and restored the damage that the engine had acquired during the long trip. All

Bitch Better Have My Money
Barbadian singer and songwriter, Rihanna, song titled Bitch Better Have My Money was released in
the year 2015. The popular song had previously landed as number four in Pitchfork s, Best of 2015
list. Just as the title of the music video proposes, the main concept is, Bitch Better Have My Money ; a
concept in which Rihanna is indicating how someone owes her money and needs to pay it forward.
This is not the only notion an individual could get from the song lyrics. The song could be referring to
demanding respect from someone, gaining ethnic dominance, instigation to violence, or even females
being used as objects. Set in a secluded area that includes vehicles driven only by Rihanna herself, a
motel room, the Bitch living room, a gas station just to name a few, Bitch Better Have My Money tells
a sequenced story about how an accountant owes her money and does not pay up his dues when
needed. The strong theme of the song is pay up what you owe or there will be consequences involved.
Music directors, Megaforce and the star Rihanna herself demonstrated several of angles, vibrant
colors, and even slow pans to make the video as popular as it is now.

Texas Income Tax
The state of Texas should not adopt a personal income tax. Any legislator who would propose a bill
seeking to establish a state income tax would be seriously questioned, because a state income tax is
currently unconstitutional.
The Texas Constitution was amended in 1993, during Governor William P. Clements second
administration, to prohibit a state income tax. Therefore, any such proposal would have serious
difficulties passing both chambers of the legislature and then it would be subject to ratification
through a statewide referendum. Texas lack of a state income tax seems to have enhanced its economy

for maintenance and operations (M O) to roughly 50 cents! The maximum M O tax rate also now

tax cut the property tax rate by 65%, then it would also cut the tax cap by 65%. After the cap was cut,
only the voters in a school district could increase their district s maximum tax rate. The Bullock
Amendment then provides that the remaining one third of income tax revenue could be spent, but only
on education. State income tax payments are deductible from taxable income in calculating federal
income taxes. Deductibility shifts part of the cost of public education to the federal government. The

taxpayers would have been only $3.9 billion. Lower property taxes would have returned most of the

the income tax ($1.6 billion) through higher deductions on federal tax

Role Of Education In The Tempest
The Tempest Shakespeare s play The Tempest explores the subject of expansion, colonization and
civilization as the framework for modern England. Different authors through there different works
have agreed indeed that William Shakespeare s play played a central role in the development we see in
modern day England. The play was written at a time when there was a great systemization in different
sectors of the early modern England.
In early modern England, systemization of education through imposition of standardized books was
effected in 1542. This imposition corresponded to the lifetime of Shakespeare. There was also a boom
in the number of schools founded during his era. This was at a time when Shakespeare was writing his
play. In spite of the different purposes and types of education life of England, it is between 1559 1639
when there was a revolution in education. The English education system became vigorous, purposeful,
well funded and equipped than in the past. Religion was regarded an important aspect in the creation

In the Green s chapter How Partisan Attachment Structure Politics, the argument is made that
partisans sense that they are part of a team and thus, feel themselves to be part of the constant
competition for public support and control of government that typifies party politics (Green 219). A
counterpoint could be made by justifying that partisans may genuinely feel that their own party s
candidate has their best interests at heart . However, after controlling for evaluations of the incumbent
administration s performance, the effects of party identification still persisted (Green 219). Ultimately,
party identification predicts the vote because partisans pull for their team and the social groups that it

In both the movie and the book, Ender graduated from Launchy , to soldier, to a commander of his
own platoon, to a trainee for a commander, to Supreme Commander of the IF. In the movie, most of
the promotions went smoothly and were similar with the book. All of these were similar up until the
graduation from Battle School to Command School. In the book, Ender first fought Bonzo, and then
proceeded to fight 2 armies, where afterward he was promoted from Battle School to Command
School. In the movie, Ender first fought 2 armies, one of them being Bonzo s. Only afterwards Ender
was confronted by Bonzo, and while Ender was watching Bonzo in the infirmary after the fight, Graff
approached him and informed him about his promotion. The makers of the movie rearranged the order
of the fights and the promotions in order to give Bonzo a stronger reason to confront Ender (the defeat
of his army and previous reasons), therefore building up to the fight, most likely to make the plot
simpler. Either way, the events in the book and movie both created the same results, keeping the

The As A Tyrant Who Held A Reign Of Terror
There s always something watching over everyone, seeing the unprincipled and unscrupulous
mistakes, flaws, sins, and immorality. It s easy to try and escape judgment and punishment for one s
sins, but it will all come back to them in due time. Karma is prevalent in numerous religions and
candidly means good actions reap rewards, whereas malevolent actions result in future suffering and
problems. Historically speaking, there have been many cases where unscrupulous actions have come
back to bite. Maximilien de Robespierre became a tyrant who held a reign of terror , guillotining
extravagant amounts of people, many of them being innocent. Ironically enough he was killed via
guillotine. Diane de Poitiers held an affair with King Henry II of France for many years until his
death. Because of that she was sent into exile after Henry s death by his wife, Catherine de Medici.
Some may call these coincidences and whether one believes in karma or not does not matter, as there
are always consequences for one s actions. People can slowly lose themselves once they get caught up
in an aristocratic society filled with money, lust, and glory. In The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald,
the eyes of Dr. T.J. Eckleburg within the Valley of Ashes are symbolic as to how the characters
deteriorate in the wasteland of a society made up of gentry.
The valley of ashes is representative of the destroyed and decayed nobility. The valley of ashes is a
place that at one point was in an at least

Editing critique of Tery Zwigoff s Ghostworld Essay
Editing Critique of Terry Zwigoff s Ghost World nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; In order for a film to be successful
many different elements must be taken into consideration even before beginning to shoot. The tone of
the piece, what sort of lighting will be used, the location of the shots, and a palette for the film, are all
elements that need to be considered before the actual filmmaking begins. However, even with rigorous
planning, questions will still arise during shooting, questions that might not even be apparent or
answered until the footage reaches the editing room. However, many shortcomings in shooting can be
solved through editing. In fact, with good editing pretty much any type of footage can be made into a
working piece of art. But good ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The camera cuts away in the middle of this action, leaving the bag theoretically floating somewhere in
mid space. The next scene, however, begins with Enid grabbing the bag off of a table where she sitting
with her best friend Rebecca. The result is the feeling one single motion: the bag leaving Seymour s
hands and entering Enid s. This idea of continuous motion reoccurs several times during the film
helping the viewer connect scenes as well as ideas. Across screen movement is another technique used
to smooth edit points in the film. Often a person or group of people walking across the screen will act
as a wipe, pushing the last scene off while introducing the next. Most of the time the wipe is an
insignificant character such as a jogger or a car driving by. Human wipes are also used within scenes
to lead camera movement. A great example of this is Enid s art opening scene. In this scene the camera
uses one continuous shot to move from the outside of the gallery to the room where Enid s piece is
hanging. However this movement is not done in a single motion. Through out this movement the
camera pauses three times, each time motivated to move again by a group of people walking in front
of the camera in the same direction. This makes the movement of the camera surprisingly subtle. nbsp;
Ghost World also uses editing as a means of establishing time and building relationships between
characters. Sequential

* What makes social network sites unique is not that they allow individuals to meet strangers, but
rather that they enable users to articulate and make visible their social networks. This can result in
connections between individuals that would not otherwise be made, but that is often not the goal, and
these meetings are frequently between latent ties (Haythornthwaite, 2005) who share some offline
connection. On many of the large SNSs, participants are not necessarily networking or looking to meet
new people; instead, they are primarily communicating with people who are already a part of their
extended social network. To emphasize this articulated social network as a critical organizing feature
of these sites, we label them social network sites. * While SNSs have implemented a wide variety of
technical features, their backbone consists of visible profiles that display an articulated list of Friends1
who are also users of the system. Profiles are unique pages where one can type oneself into being
(Sundén, 2003, p. 3). After joining an SNS, an individual is asked to fill out forms containing a series
of questions. The profile is generated using the answers to these questions, which typically include
descriptors such as age, location, interests, and an about me section. Most sites also encourage users to
upload a profile photo. Some sites

Evaluation Of A Teacher Classroom Management Plan Evaluation
Clinical Cooperating Teacher Classroom Management Plan Evaluation Positive reinforcement plays a
major role in the classroom management plan in my cooperating teacher s classroom. In this fourth
grade class, students are grouped in groups of four or five who work as a team to earn marbles. Each
group has a marble jar on their storage shelf in their group where the teacher will add a variety of
different sized marbles. Students can earn marbles for following directions, answering questions,
paying attention, helping others, being a good listener, and many other positive behaviors and good
choices. Different size marbles represent a different amount of tickets that students can earn to use to
purchase rewards. Some rewards include a free homework pass, lunch with a friend, lunch with the
teacher; sit in the rocking chair during reading time, or choosing a prize from the prize box. As I
observed the class, I realized this system works really well for this group of students. The teacher
would give the class directions. For example, please get out your math journals and a pencil. The
teacher did not have to say anything about earning marbles. All she did was gather a handful of
marbles, begin walking around the room looking for a group who was following direction and ready to
work. Once she spotted a group doing what was asked, she placed the marbles in their jar. She
followed the steps until she was out of marbles. Students were ready to work fast. The clink

Essay On Venous Insufficiency
Mechanisms of onset of chronic venous insufficiency (CVI)
The pathophysiology of CVI remained moderately darken as of not long ago, however late advances
relating hemodynamic disarranges to cell science have revealed insight into how its components
interlink. CVI might be because of inherited anomalies of vessel walls or tissues, or give off an
impression of being auxiliary to profound vein thrombosis. The reason for CVI is then identified with
a hover of activities, including the movement of venous hypertension (VH), prompting aggravations
of blood stream and venous stasis. These two elements follow up on the dividers of primary veins and
cause varicosities, and on the microcirculation, where they cause edema and ulcers.

Extending and abnormalities of principle vein walls result in troublesome emptying when standing. In
short, it is the advancement of varicose veins which prompts stasis.
Aggravating factors additionally assume an essential part in these anatomical changes.
Functional abnormalities:
The highly aggravating factor in case of the failure of the muscle pump is reduced calf ejection
fraction. Even more, valvular reflux (recognized by Doppler), happening early, even before valvular
ineptitude, or late, at different destinations in the venous framework as per people, is a noteworthy
reason for the compounding of stasis. Reflux is normal: it is available in 68% of patients in the
saphenous beneath the knee, in 55% above and in 30% at the saphenofemoral intersection. Ulcer
patients have extreme and multisegmental reflux. Reflux is superficial and deep when edema is
available.
Hemorheological abnormalities
Increased blood consistency and red cell conglomeration are present in CVI, in the fundamental
dissemination and considerably more so in varicose veins. These occasions are connected to blood
levels of large atoms, particularly fibrinogen.
Consequently, anatomical changes of venous wall and the beginning of reflux and rheological
irregularities increment with time, as indicated by age, familial inherited conditions, pregnancies, and
long stretches

What Does The White Symbolize In The Great Gatsby
Fitzgerald is a novelist in twenty to thirty of the USA. The great Gatsby is the most outstanding work
of Fitzgerald, both in thought and in literature and art. The novel depicts the tragic story of a young
man, Gatsby who from the lower class of western United States, dreams to obtain the true happiness
and love through personal struggle. But in the end he was abandoned by the rich girl. Fitzgerald uses a
lot of symbolism in the works successfully, it has become a symbol of the work, the readers deeply
understand the character and also enhance the shock and artistic expression of the theme of the novel.

Gatsby and Nick was invited to Daisy s guest, see Jordan and Daisy lay together in a huge Changsha
chair, dressed white, too. When Daisy was invited to Nick and Gatsby, she also dressed in white,
driving a white convertible. White appears repeatedly on Daisy, and it has a unique significance.
White is generally regarded as the symbol of purity, but for Daisy, there are multiple symbolic
meanings. On the surface, the white represents purity and beauty, but in fact, it is a cold color, which
represents the cold, cold, and impulse. White symbolizes Daisy s shallow, stupid and irresponsible.
The image of her vanity, her ignorance, her indifference, her selfishness and cruelty are exposed in
front of the reader, and these are the root of the tragedy of Gatsby. In fact, Daisy s life actually is a
symbol of the American dream, not only on behalf of the Gatsby s pursuit, but also on behalf of the
whole appearance of the Jazz Age society, and the hypocrisy of bourgeois values and moral standards.
It is this illusion of the so called American dream to make all the young people who pursuit is blind,
such as Gatsby

The time when I realized it was already around midnight, and I had to go to the Omaha airport in the early morning. I did not have time to reserve a rental car and pick it up the next morning. Fortunately, I found a friend who would go to the Grand Island airport the next morning, and I asked him to take me to the airport. I immediately booked a one way flight ticket from Grand Island to Orlando with Expedia. I did not cancel my previous round trip flight tickets because I already bought a returning ticket from Orlando to Omaha. Even though I canceled the flight tickets, I could not gain all amounts of the fare of the ticket. Therefore, I decided that I would come back from Orlando to Omaha with my original flight plan. However, when I went back from Orlando to Omaha and I checked out at the Orlando airport, one of the staff said my flight ticket was canceled and I had to pay other a few dollars in order to take the same plane. I was so angry that even though I did not cancel my flight, it was automatically canceled and I needed to pay for my flight ticket again. I thought it was ridiculous. • 3. Apollo 13 INTRODUCTION Apollo 13, the 1995 motion picture directed by Ron Howard, is the true story of Jim Lovell, Fred Haise, and Jack Swigert, a team of astronauts reassigned to a space flight with diminished preparation time. This routine mission to the moon suddenly becomes a survival mission to safely return home to Earth. The film details the circumstances affecting two separate but cohesive teams. The purpose of this case analysis is to identify the critical events, explain the underlying causes of why these events happened, and draw logical conclusions about the teams¡¯ performances as related to effective teamwork and leadership. In this portion of the analysis, both evidence and inference will be used to examine the stages of group development, the GRP¡úI Model, and team leadership. The Forming Stage Both teams in the film progress through the four stages of group development; forming, norming, storming and performing; however, not much emphasis is placed on the initial forming stage. In the beginning of the film during a party celebrating the first successful moon landing of Apollo 11, Lovell, Haise and Mattingly appear to have a working/social relationship as they have already been slated as the team to fly the future Apollo 14 mission. It is inferred that these men have previously been through the forming stage as the film does not depict a formal introduction of the team members to each other. The Norming Stage In the norming stage, the Apollo 13 crew is faced with creating cohesion and unity, differentiating roles, identifying expectations and enhancing commitment (Whetten Cameron, 2005). Due to Alan Shepherd¡¯s ear infection, however, the crew is bumped up to a mission ahead of schedule, allowing only six months of actual preparation. The training sequences within the film, as well as Mattingly¡¯s commitment for accuracy and precision, are clear indicators that the crew is going through the norming stage. When Mattingly is unexpectedly scrubbed from the mission, and Swigert is moved up into his place, the crew is forced to revert back to the forming stage. The crew, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Together with having extensive land, Proctor´s crops were doing considerably well compared to other farmers (Act 2). Not all farmers in the region are lucky and suffer from crop failures. Because of his successful harvest and land, Proctor is considered superior and privileged in the Salem community. Therefore, Proctor is a tragic hero because he holds the characteristics of superiority. One cannot be a tragic hero with a tragic flaw. This flaw will lead to the downfall of the protagonist. Proctor s tragic flaw is his inability to avoid temptation. Specifically, Proctor gave into temptation of Abigail. In Act 1, Abigail confronts Proctor about his nightly visits to Abigail s window. Proctor agrees that he has been visiting Abigail, owing to that he can not avoid the temptation of Abigail. Although Abigail and him are no longer seeing each other, Proctor cannot stay away from Abigail and gives into temptation to visit Abigail. Another example that demonstrates Proctor s inability to avoid temptation is when Proctor confesses to the court about his relationship with Abigail (Act 2). In court, Proctor could have kept the court oblivious to the fact that he and Abigail had a relationship, instead as a last resort, Proctor gave into the temptation and informed the court. In the process Proctor also ruined his name in the community. By giving into temptation, Proctor caused his own demise. Tragic heroes eventually ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

These natives were living peaceful and happy lives. The Europeans came over to these innocent people s land who were minding their own business; calling them savages, killed their people, and destroying the perfect lives they once had. There are many accounts recorded on how the Indians and Europeans felt about the discovery of America. The Natives believed they had a very sophisticated society before the Europeans showed up; but the Europeans believed the natives did not know how to live and that they need their help to learn how to live the correct and godly way. With these in mind there is no way these two cultures could live in harmony unless they both decided to learn from one another. The problem with this is the Europeans never gave the natives the chance to have their own beliefs and the Natives could never teach the Europeans what they knew because the Europeans believed everything the natives did was wrong. The Europeans believed the Indians were lazy, non deserving savages who were on land that was given to the Europeans by God. They thought that God had taken them to the new land because they were running out of resources in Europe. The Europeans saw the Natives as a resource along with everything they had on the new land. • 9. Post-Modernism In International Relations Post Modernsism is a very important and essential theory that has been brought about to the study of international relations. It falls under the category of post positivism, which is a rejection of positivism in the sense that it dismisses the notion that international relations can be observed in an objective manner. Other theories encompassed in the post positivism umbrella include constructivism, neo marxism, critical theory, feminism, and post colonialism (Burchill 2013). Post Modernism also brought about new perspectives to international relations, these include: arbitrary nature of modernity, choice posing as truth, reality as a social construction, the rejection of positivism, the crisis of modernity, loss of confidence in the authority of the grand narratives, its relation to language, and the process of identity construction. Also, notably, Post Modernism may receive criticism from constructivism and realism, but ultimately arguments for Post Modernism will make more logical sense within the international relations arena. Lastly, Post Modernism is essential because of it s unique views in ideas such as language, abstract views, etc., to better understand political activity within the international relations community. First and foremost, Post Modernism has added some very fresh and important factors to theorists in international relations. Post Modernism is more specific than its predecessors because it critiques the Enlightenment project as whole, specifically ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 10. Ethics And Ethics Of Ethics With the Repo 105 manipulation, assets and liabilities were reduced at the reporting date, and the leverage ratio was decreased as well because the numerator and the denominator of that ratio are reduced by the same amount. As a result, Lehman Brothers declared bankruptcy and former officials of Lehman brothers have agreed to pay $90 million to settle a shareholder lawsuit. We can refer from the two previous examples that ethics education is crucial. The main reason for ethics education is that ethics courses and training would help students, who are going to become future managers and business decision makers, to resolve such ethical dilemmas correctly. As we know that most dilemmas often have multiple decision criteria. Business ethics classes would help students to realize which decision criteria lead to a preference for a given decision alternative. Besides helping future business players, another important reason for education of ethics is the fact that it is inescapable. Without the existence and appreciation of ethics and the codes of conduct, the world will be at lost and have no ways of assessing what is desirable and adds to the public wellness, and what is sabotaging the social standards. Having the code of ethics is not merely a way to secure survivability of the company, but also helps the company to make the right decisions in dilemmas and expressing commitments to the society. Moreover, these advancements contribute to society s push to say yes constantly; yes to opting to do more work, and yes to responding to notifications immediately. Celebrity Lena Dunham, however, is protesting this aspect of society. She has decided to make use of the word no more often in 2016, and encourages women in the working world to do the same. Castro was educated in many Jesuit boarding schools, from grade school to middle school, in which he was a mediocre student and was not well behaved, only focusing on playing sports. Although Castro attended a religious boarding school, it did not affect him in any way and was still getting into trouble as a young child. After Castro graduated from high school he studied law at the University of Havana. In his classes, he became very fond of anti imperialism, socialism, and the political climate of Cuban nationalism, which had helped him while in power. On February 16,1959, Fidel Alejandro Ruz Castro was sworn in as Prime Minister of Cuba. Castro secretly started to turn to Communism. He wanted to nationalize plantations and factories. The U.S. is known for its strong opinion on democracy, so when the U.S. heard this, it caused lots of friction between Cuba and the U.S. so Castro denied that he wanted to control Cuba as a communist. Castro then signed the First Agrarian Reform Law, which prohibited foreigners from owning land in Cuba while also only allowing 993 acres of land per citizen. Castro was then trying to develop ... • 18. Descriptive Essay About Eddie Van Halen For as long as I can remember, my dad always had his music playing. In the car, in the house, everywhere. In time, his music became my music; and it still is. Though my dad s music taste was vast, his staple was Van Halen. Little did I know how much that band would shape me as a person. While most fans were in love with David Lee Roth, (the singer) I was all about Eddie Van Halen; the greatest guitarist in the world. The greatest because to me, he isn t just a guitarist. He s an innovator, a genius, and one of my biggest role models. While I think all art is powerful, it s all subjective, and to me, Eddie Van Halen is the perfect example to why art is so powerful. For he has created the passion, perseverance, and creativity that lives inside me today. From the moment I heard the majestic scream of Eddie Van Halen s guitar, I knew I had to learn how to play guitar. I was but only a listener at the time, but the passion of a musician budded within me, and locked my vicarious attention on every note. The more I listened to Van Halen, the more I wanted to stop being a listener, and start being a creator. It was like some insane urge came over me every time I listened to them telling me to create something. It was a musical high. I got my first guitar when I was 11 years old. (When the addiction began) Even though I wasn t very good, each new thing I learned, pushed me to learn more. No amount of skills and knowledge was enough, and it still isn t. The End of the F*cking World is a recently added Netflix Original that focuses on the journey of James and Allison in what seems to be a dark adaptation of Bonnie Clyde. This rollercoaster of emotions had me on the edge of my seat (my bed) the whole time. The story is not very clear for the first couple episodes. A lot happens in the first few episodes with no apparent linear progressive story. The story ties itself back around in a way that is not expected. The biggest thing that kept me watching through the entire series was the fact that there was not a dry moment at all. From the time that the episode starts, to the time that the title appears on the credits screen, continuous jaw dropping moments occur. A big issue that I had with the way the television series ... There was a specific scene where the main girl Allison is being attacked and James stabs the guy. Blood pours from the guys neck all over the girl. The visuals of this scene were absolutely throw up provoking, it really displayed the feelings of the scene for all characters. Another issue that I found with the show, is that the cast is British. The lingo and vocabulary was different than that of my culture, and I found myself, sometimes not quite understanding what was said. I didn t know any of the cast members, so it was a little difficult to find a relation between myself and them. The advantage of having a cast of unknown actors and actresses, is that an audience member doesn t have a relation to another movie with that character. For example. When viewing Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls, Jim Carrey portrays a very whacky and goofy individual, but when viewing The Number 23, I find it much harder to take Jim Carrey seriously in a drama/thriller ... • 20. The Negative Impact Of The Puritan Society In The Crucible The Puritans were a religious minority group who believed that the Church of England needed to be purified of the influence of Catholicism. The basis for the Puritan s belief was an emphasis on the righteousness and sovereignty of God. They believed God directed all things by exercise, and directed all things to an intelligent end. In the Puritan life they believed in staying true to the divine law but doing everything in moderation. The Crucible shows the exact opposite of what the Puritan life is supposed to be like. Some people had to suffer execution because of the rumors that were spread throughout the community. In The Crucible they experienced things such as false rumors that were spread throughout Salem. Not only did the things that they did cause turmoil, but it also caused a negative impact to the Puritan society as a whole. Faith was a central part of the Puritan experience, and this is where all other aspects of their society emerged. In the Puritan Society, religious beliefs shaped early American relationships, between the parents and their children. Based on their spiritual tribalism, Godly parents were more likely than ungodly parents to produce Godly children. The New Testament was their model and their devotion so great that it was spread throughout their entire society. Great pains were endured to warn their members and especially their children of the dangers of the world. Reading the bible was a necessity to living a pious life. The education of the next ... The ubermensch (literally overman in German) never had extra ordinary powers and wasn t developed as the protector of man. Instead, the superman is a person who has overcome all the flaws of mankind and is essentially perfect. He felt the idea of the superman as well as other Nietzsche writings gave him and the Nazis the right and the reason to take over what they wished and impose the beliefs they wished. In fact, Hitler believed himself to be a superman. This belief is evident by the way Hitler acted during his reign as the leader of the Nazi party. The attempted destruction of the Jewish people as a race was actually based on writings by Nietzsche. In Hitler s mind the Jews were inferior and therefore no compassion should be given to them. Hitler, of course, took this once step further and actually killed many of the weak. During World War II Hitler even issued every German soldier a copy of one of Nietzsche s writings, Thus Spake Zarathustra. National Socialism and Fascism also spawned from Nietzsche and his thoughts on society. Nietzsche himself was very much socialist in his beliefs which is evident in much of what he wrote. Though socialism may seem far from Nietzsche s idea of the superman, it is actually very close because the ruler is looked at as a superman who makes all decisions and knows what is best at all times. This can be seen in many societies such as Italy and Germany in World War II, and to some extent The Soviet Union. In each of these cases the ruling party or man used Nietzsche s beliefs to rationalize their rampant wars, hatred, and genocide. A ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Lastly after analyzing these two areas I will provide my recommendations for Ice Fili over the next three to five years. External Environment Analysis (Five Forces) Threat of New Entrants: High. In the Russian ice cream market we see competitors of ranging sizes competing against one another. 30% of the domestic market is made up of regional small scale producers that have come into the market because it was easy for them to pivot from producing frozen foods to ice cream with very limited capital. Outside of regional producers foreign ice cream companies can enter into the Russian ice cream market whenever they so choose by importing their products to distributors. Foreign companies have been controlled as of late due to instability of the Russian currency against the U.S dollar, but even with this currency risk some foreign competitors have been able to survive by making large capital investments, and producing their product within Russia instead of importing it. Degree of Rivalry: Medium. The degree of rivalry within the industry is balanced in that a few factors lend to strong rivalry while a similar amount do not. Because ... The Results Of The Election Of Donald Trump Although the results of the 2016 presidential election contradicted months of numerous surveys conducted by pollsters and pundits predicting a Democratic victory, it should not have been surprising to individuals familiar with the current political science research on American politics. Despite the some opinions that the election of Donald Trump marked a political watershed, underlying factors such as partisanship, a topic with decades of research for those familiar with American politics, ultimately resulted in the business and real estate mogul in being inaugurated as the 45th President of the United States. Partisanship proved to be a dominant force that influenced the 2016 election in the various aspects such as unwavering party ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the Green s chapter How Partisan Attachment Structure Politics, the argument is made that partisans sense that they are part of a team and thus, feel themselves to be part of the constant competition for public support and control of government that typifies party politics (Green 219). A counterpoint could be made by justifying that partisans may genuinely feel that their own party s candidate has their best interests at heart . However, after controlling for evaluations of the incumbent administration s performance, the effects of party identification still persisted (Green 219). Ultimately, party identification predicts the vote because partisans pull for their team and the social groups that it symbolizes while at the same time rooting against the other party and its allied social groups (Green 220). This assertion can be verified using the exit poll results from the 2016 election, taken from CNN. African Americans, a group that consistently votes for the Democratic candidate, continued to vote for the Democratic candidate in 2016, by a 89% to 8% margin. Furthermore, Donald Trump dominated his key demographic, uneducated white voters, by a 66% to 29% margin ( 2016 Election Exit Polls ). This is consistent with the idea that partisans pull for their team and the social groups it symbolizes as Barack Obama won the African American vote by a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The reader would have noticed more differences than did similarities. Some of the differences in the movie were large, some were subtle. Some parts were left out of the movie entirely. The main scenes that are going to be concentrated on in this paper are The Giant s Drink, Ender s progression through the ranks, the buggers, and Graff s control over the soldiers. In the book and the movie alike, The Giant s Drink is a game engineered by the IF to train strategic thinking. In the book, Ender first fought Bonzo, and then proceeded to fight 2 armies, where afterward he was promoted from Battle School to Command School. In the movie, Ender first fought 2 armies, one of them being Bonzo s. Only afterwards Ender was confronted by Bonzo, and while Ender was watching Bonzo in the infirmary after the fight, Graff approached him and informed him about his promotion. The makers of the movie rearranged the order of the fights and the promotions in order to give Bonzo a stronger reason to confront Ender (the defeat of his army and previous reasons), therefore building up to the fight, most likely to make the plot simpler. This idea of continuous motion reoccurs several times during the film helping the viewer connect scenes as well as ideas. Across screen movement is another technique used to smooth edit points in the film. Often a person or group of people walking across the screen will act as a wipe, pushing the last scene off while introducing the next. Most of the time the wipe is an insignificant character such as a jogger or a car driving by. Human wipes are also used within scenes to lead camera movement. A great example of this is Enid s art opening scene. In this scene the camera uses one continuous shot to move from the outside of the gallery to the room where Enid s piece is hanging. However this movement is not done in a single motion. Through out this movement the camera pauses three times, each time motivated to move again by a group of people walking in front of the camera in the same direction. This makes the movement of the camera surprisingly subtle. nbsp; Ghost World also uses editing as a means of establishing time and building relationships between characters. Sequential ... This can result in connections between individuals that would not otherwise be made, but that is often not the goal, and these meetings are frequently between latent ties (Haythornthwaite, 2005) who share some offline connection. On many of the large SNSs, participants are not necessarily networking or looking to meet new people; instead, they are primarily communicating with people who are already a part of their extended social network. To emphasize this articulated social network as a critical organizing feature of these sites, we label them social network sites. * While SNSs have implemented a wide variety of technical features, their backbone consists of visible profiles that display an articulated list of Friends1 who are also users of the system. In this fourth grade class, students are grouped in groups of four or five who work as a team to earn marbles. Each group has a marble jar on their storage shelf in their group where the teacher will add a variety of different sized marbles. Students can earn marbles for following directions, answering questions, paying attention, helping others, being a good listener, and many other positive behaviors and good choices. Different size marbles represent a different amount of tickets that students can earn to use to purchase rewards. Some rewards include a free homework pass, lunch with a friend, lunch with the teacher; sit in the rocking chair during reading time, or choosing a prize from the prize box. As I observed the class, I realized this system works really well for this group of students. The teacher would give the class directions. For example, please get out your math journals and a pencil. The teacher did not have to say anything about earning marbles. All she did was gather a handful of marbles, begin walking around the room looking for a group who was following direction and ready to work.
