Answer: Animal pollinated plants are strong, which make them easier to be found during
evidence collection but not a plentiful as wind pollen. Wind dispersed pollen produces large
amounts of pollen, which makes it easier to be found in forensic science during evidence
collection, but it s harder to direct find a suspect with this type of pollen. Water dispersed pollen
absolutely has to stay in water or it will degenerate. So this type of pollen doesn t exactly help in
forensic science unless a victim was drowned.
17)Describe how pollen can be used to determine if a crime occurred in the city or in the country or
during the day or night.
Answer: Pollen can be used to determine if a crime occurred in the city or in the country or during
the day or night because country city conditions are different. The air is more polluted in the city
than in the country, which can affect plantcycles. Also, the city has a lot more sidewalks other
pavements, shaded areas and not very much fertile soil for plants to even grow. This majorly limits
the types and survival of plants in that environment. Plants mostly flower in the daytime opposed to
the night time because there is sun only in the daytime. This means that there is more pollen in the
air during the

Analysis Of Yiyun Li s A Thousand Years Of Good Prayers
Yiyun Li s A Thousand Years of Good Prayers has a recurring theme among its protagonists.
Several characters have not met certain emotional needs which leaves them searching for ways to
meet these needs wherever possible. Oftentimes, characters enter a one sided relationship and give
themselves completely to a person with nothing in return because it fulfills whatever needs the
character has. These relationships are most evident in Extra and A Thousand Years of Good Prayers
.
In Extra, Granny Lin s emotional deficit comes from her lack of relationships throughout her life.
Her whole life she was never married, never had any children, and cooped up in a factory all day.
After Granny lin was forced to retire, Auntie Wang arranged... Show more content on

The one sidedness of the relationship is physical as well. Granny Lin looks out for Kang by
supplying him with socks to save him embarrassment (Li 19).
The way Granny Lin describes her relationship with Kang also shows how she has been deprived
of romantic love her whole life. She wonders if this is the love she missed in her younger years,
hand and hand with a dear boy and in the closing lines of the story she calls her time with Kang her
brief love story (Li 18, 22).
While I concede that Granny Lin s relationship with Kang is problematic given the age
difference, I contend that, knowing what the reader knows about Granny Lin s lonely past, the
relationship takes on a new light. The life Granny Lin led prior to her factory retirement left her
emotionally starved and put her romantic and emotional desires in a state of dormancy. These
buried and dormant desires were awoken by Old Tang, the object around which her feelings
were able to manifest. After Tang s death, those feelings may have left Granny Lin feeling even
more empty because now she was aware of them but had nobody to love. Her relationship with
Kang arose because they were both the most vulnerable in the school. She was vulnerable due to
her emotional and romantic cavities, while Kang was vulnerable because of his familial issues.
Some might call Granny Lin s love for Kang predatory, but it comes

The Dramatic Importance of the Boxing Scene Between Eddie...
The dramatic importance of the boxing scene between Eddie and Roldolpho
The story, A View from the Bridge is set in America and it talks about a longshoreman, Eddie. He
has kindly let two of his relatives who are illegal immigrants from Italy stay in his house. The
boxing scene in Act 1, episode 5 of the play is of dramatic importance as it reveals the tension
between Eddie and Rodolpho, one of the illegal immigrants. The scene highlights the different
views and relationship of the two women towards Eddie as he is starting to resemble a tragic hero
and is on his path of self destruction and downfall. It also emphasizes the growing importance of
Marco s role which eventually leads to the climax at the beginning of Act 1.
Arthur Miller ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Catherine might have also done that on purpose so she could annoy Eddie because of what he
has done to Rodolpho. From here we can see that Catherine s view towards Eddie is deteriorating
as she acts more rebellious around him while Beatrice still thinks there is hope for Eddie and is
still on his side.
The end of Act 1 closely resembles a Greek Tragedy. In the boxing scene, Eddie begins to make
bold moves and does things that are out of the ordinary. Feints with his left hand and lands with
his right . He starts making mistakes without realizing it as he decides to physically hurt
Rodolpho by punching him. This is just the beginning of his path towards self destruction as he
makes his fatal flaw later on in the play. The other characters in the play are all slowly turning
against him. Catherine decides to be rebellious in front of Eddie, You wanna dance, Rodolpho?
Marco challenges Eddie by asking him, Can you lift this chair? Beatrice criticizes Eddie for being
too overprotective and his unnatural affection towards Catherine, Well then, be an uncle then.
Rodolpho tries to reason with Eddie, I have respect for her, Eddie. All right, sure. But I can t stay
in the house all the time, Eddie.

Analysis On The Digital Age Insurance
1Abstract
In today s Digital Age Insurance companies generate and gather data each minute, hour and day.
Every individual in these organizations starting at the top from executives, departmental decision
makers, to underwriters, claims adjusters and call center workers hope to learn things from
collected data that can help them make better decisions for the organization, take smarter actions
and operate more efficiently leading to Profitability.
The Biggest challenge the Insurance companies face begins when they begin extracting meaningful
insights from this explosion of data. Determining how to take advantage of all this data to price
better, expand markets and improve underwriting risk and handing claims. Fortunately, the science
of extracting insight from data is constantly evolving. Regardless of how much data you have, one
of the best ways to discern important relationships is through data visualization.
Data visualization, where information is presented in a pictorial or graphical format, is helping
insurance professionals see things that were not obvious to them before. Insurance companies
analyze historical data which includes information from policy administration solutions,
underwriting applications and billing systems to forecast and predict future losses.
2Introduction:
Underwriting is one of the important processes in insurance operations. The applicant s
information, including various kinds of medical information, must be evaluated before the insurance

Religions of Judaism, Christianity, Islam
1.
God to the people of the big three monotheist religions (Judaism, Christianity, Islam) see god as an
all knowing, all seeing, and all powerful being.
I believe that that the Cosmological argument gives good reason to believe in the existence of
God. The Cosmological argument focuses on everything having a cause except one thing that
started it all, this starter is known as the Prime Mover . The Prime Mover is the one that starts
everything without anything having a previous effect on it. With that people have assumed that the
logical answer to who the prime mover is, is God. This to me seems the most logical of arguments
because although there is the idea of eternity and an eternal cycle there has to be a starting point. I
do not believe the argument is successful.
The reason that the argument does not succeed is because what proof is there that the prime
mover is an all powerful all mighty being? There could be alternate reasons related to science, The
Big Bang Theory, which could also be a reason. One of Aquinas s arguments against the
cosmological argument discussed that since everything in nature had a time where it did not exist
there had to be a time where it was nothing to bring anything into being. His argument was if this
was possible there was nothing around to bring the universe into being in the first place. Due to
this a being such as God is not likely to have existed before to create it. Who created God? The
only thing that could be done to better prove

Ethical And Legal Aspects Of Nursing Practice
Project 2 Faisal M. Ghaffar Ethical and Legal Aspects of Nursing Practice October 23, 2015
Professor Ovidio Viera Florida National University Circumcision...Is it an issue? Explore the
human and ethical issues surrounding circumcision. Is this a medical right or a human rights
issue? Why are people so against it...why are some so for it? What is the role of the nurse in
relations to an ethical dilemma involving circumcision? In this paper will be talking about
predominantly male circumcision. Circumcision is the oldest optional surgical procedure
known to human kind and may be more than 15,000 years old. The question that we will discuss
whether this is ethical or not, and is it medically necessary. Let s begin with the medical issues,
is it necessary or not to have a male circumcision. It is all about risk and rewards, because the risk
of not having circumcision comes some medical issues. For example, penile cancer, reduces risk
of cervical cancer in female sex partner, sexually transmitted diseases, children with pathological
phimosis, refractory balanoposthitis and chronic, recurrent urinary tract infections (UTIs) in males
who are chronically susceptible to them are suggested to get circumcision. Penile Cancer: Men
who were circumcised as children have a lower chance of getting penile cancer than those who
were not, but the same protective effect is not seen if the foreskin is removed as an adult. The
reason for the lower risk in circumcised

Sterilization Law
Forced sterilization of people during the holocaust remained another major issue. Many people
died due to the procedures for sterilization (Friedlander 30). Also, the Nazi s did not only sterilize
Jews, they sterilized the mentally ill and those of mixed race (Forced Sterilization). Although the
Nazi s conducted this horrible event, they were not the only one, nor the first. Hitler and his
cabinet approved the first eugenic law only six months after his taking over of office. This law
stated that handicapped people could apply for sterilization, but physicians, doctors, and nurses
could also fill out the application (Friedlander 26). The Sterilization Law interpreted the

A German psychiatrist, August Forel, tried to support sterilization of the mentally ill by stating
that it is, a national sacrifice similar to that of a soldier in the time of war (Evans 106). Also,
gynecologist, Edwin Kehere, sterilized female patients that he believed should no longer be
allowed to bring lesser children into the world. Psychiatrist, Ernst Rudin, even suggested
sterilization of alcoholics (Evans 106 7). The court s decided that forced sterilization could take
place even against the will of the person. In 1934, the court sterilized 62,463 people; while in
1935, the court sterilized 71,760 people then again in 1936 the number went back down to
64,646. Two thirds of the members on each hereditary court held a profession in medicine so each
sterilization case remained a disguise for the procedure (Friedlander 27). Of the people sterilized,
fifty two percent were diagnosed with congenital feeblemindedness, thirty two percent
schizophrenia, fourteen percent hereditary epilepsy, etc (Friedlander 29). During the years of 1934
and 1936, three hundred and sixty seven women died during a sterilization procedure while only
seventy men died. Also, in 1934, only half of the intended sterilization procedures occurred
(Friedlander 28). Overall, the

The Rules of Islamic Laws Essay
There are certain Rules Which Create Prohibition, Approvals or Disapprovals in Islam. We Will
see in the following discussion that how these rules are Categorized. As Muslim Jurits have use the
word Hukum ul Shari for these rules we will also see that how the jurists have defined it. These
rules have been given in form of Wajib Makrooh Mustahaab Haram Mandub and etc. We Will try to
differentiate them from each other by the views of Classical Jurists. These rules are there to control
the life style of the human beings specially Muslims. And these commands have been given through
a communication and this communication between Allah and the Mankind has been defined by

Wajib is defined by the jurists as a thing which has been proved by an allegorical evidence and it
s status will be equal to that of Fard .However the Hanfi Consider Fard a thing without which one
may be left outside the mode of Islam . Now the jurists have a couple of view upon the fact that
which Hukm will cause an obligation or that how a demand will be seen as categorical. The First
view is that if the demand is w.r.t to Amar, Hukum and that if the language constitutes an Amar
or an imperative sense it constitutes and Obligation. Whereas Immam Ghalzi puts forwards his
own view stating that if the demand is followed by a punishment will be known as categorical
demand and it will create an Obligation. Now Demands are of 2 types One tell us to do
something and the second one tells us to abstain from something. Things to be done are Obligation
which has already been discussed. Whereas the things which are not to be Done are Known as
Prohibited or Haram in Arabic. In its Book Weiss says that it is the nature of law that prescribes an
obligation or permitted.
Haram is when the demand is made for omitting of acts and is expressed in binding terms .
Examples can be seen in the cases of Adultery, Riba, Intoxication and Etc. Even Marriages with
the women of Hurmat have been declared Haram and all of the relations in that category have
been clearly told by Allah in Quran . So In this way Allah Expressly Forbids Muslims to

Persuasive Essay On Child Welfare
Imagine you and your siblings living in a house where your father is violent and your mother is
struggling to protect herself and her seven children. Imagine these people come to your house
and take you and your siblings away from your parents, split you up, and send you to different
houses, hours away from each other. Imagine later on finding out your mother is dead and your
father does not want to take you back. Imaging moving again, and again, and again. Imaging being
in abusive households, houses in areas so rural there is no internet, moving schools over and over
again. Imaging going to five different primary schools. Imagine being a teenager and not being
able to tell anyone, lying about the number of siblings you have, lying through your teeth day after
day because you cannot pick up the courage to tell anyone. Imagine if this was you.
When I say the words poor child welfare you may think of the children who are living in poverty
or the children who are employed in child labour, or children who live in the middle of war zones.
What you might not think of is the children struggling right beneath our noses the homeless
children, children in foster care, or children in abusive households. There are several reasons why I
have chosen to focus on children, rather than all 7.5 billion people globally. This is because
children keep the human race going, and children should not go through what some do.

Zeus Essay
Zeus, most likely the most renowned god of all gods, the mighty god of lightning has taken part in
some of the most widely known myths of all times. Zeus has taken part in many Greek and Roman
myths alike, either as Zeus or as his Roman counterpart of Jupiter. Unlike most gods in mythology
though, Zeus is the main character in almost all of the myths he is mentioned in. Whether the myth
is about his epic clash against the Titans, his fight against the Giants or even about his extramarital
affairs, Zeusalways seems to come out of these conflicts unaffected and triumphant. When
examining Zeus character though, it is important to note that Zeus is a god that exhibits human
characteristics throughout most of his myths. Growth is one of the... Show more content on

When Hera found out about Zeus dirty deeds, she convinced Semele to ask Zeus for proof of his
true nature. Zeus agreed and presented himself to her in his true form, Zeus true glory however
burned Semele alive. (ML 301) This myth is a prime example of Zeus human tendencies of acting
like a common man as he gives in to his more primitive needs and cheats on Hera with Semele.
Another example of Zeus predisposition for not having control over his more human needs is the
fact that Aphrodite has power over him. Aphrodite, the very powerful goddess of love and lust,
flaunts about her alleged power over Zeus. This, however, angered Zeus and led to a very stern
punishment for Aphrodite. Zeus was growing tired of Aphrodite s arrogance, so he punished her by
making her fall in love with a mortal named Anchises.
Zeus affinity for being the main character of a myth is no different in the epic myth about his fight
against Cronus and the Titans or the Titanomachy. In this larger than life battle Zeus has to
overthrow his father Cronus and take his predestined place as king of the gods. In this myth
however, Zeus has to grow and overcome many challenges that stand in his way to greatness.
Zeus has to ask for help from his mother in order to be able to free his sibling from his father
Cronus who had swallowed them whole. After Zeus frees his siblings he has to face the mighty
Titans, so he asks the Cyclops and the Hecatonchires to aid him in this battle that lasts

Critical Analysis Of A Neural Network
First, we have encountered one major problem that is how to interpret a neural network given its
black box characteristics. We really wanted to try ourselves, giving interpretation of our results so
that we dug into the existing literature and found out a very interesting research paper written by
Garson in 1991. In В« Illuminating the black box: a randomization approach for understanding
variable contributions in artificial neural networks В», Olden and al. describes Garson s algorithm
very concisely so that we could create a user defined function on Python that replicates the method.

The BM ratio allows us to categorize companies into either a growth (low BM ratio) or a value
(high BM ratio) profile and past empirical studies (see Fama and French) suggest that portfolios
formed over value companies tend to out perform portfolios formed over growth companies over
time. We don t know the influence direction of the variable (given the PCA black box
transformation and Garson s output) but we can formulate hypotheses on the fact that value
companies tend to beat the market more often than growth companies. Dividend yield and
EVtoEBITDA that are our 2nd and 3rd most relevant variables for Neural Nework output also
support this previous fact high dividend yield paying companies characterize generally value
companies, while the EVtoEBITDA ratio characterize the relative price of a company since it
returns how many times an investor is willing to buy the EBITDA (Earnings before interests, taxes,

investor that invests in high EVtoEBITDA companies has generally good growth prospects views
regarding the recurrent earnings of the company. Finally, the factor size is the 4th most relevant

Defects to the Eye
Defects of the Eye
The eye is a very important part of the body; it helps us see the surroundings and is almost being
use 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Unfortunately lots of people don t have the ability to see
properly, whether it be due to genetics of the environmentally. Whether you believe in them is your
own decision. Fortunately there are many different procedures that can be done to the eye to help
you see clearly. Some say that laser eye surgery is a sure fire way of fixing your vision, others say
that it is complete rubbish. The article will explain why laser eye surgery is not an effective way
to fix your eye. To prove this statement let s start from the three eye defects Myopia, Glaucoma and
Cataracts.
What is Myopia?
Myopia is a defect within the eye that causes near sightedness or short sightedness. The public is
always debating whether the term is near sightedness or short sightedness, depending where you
are, people are always saying the term differently, just like the word tomato , it just depends where
you are on the Earth. Normally when you look at an object, the object is being focus right on the
retina, but someone having Myopia, when looking at an object the image focuses in front of the
retina. For a better understanding refer to image 1.0. Glasses are an easy way to fix Myopia with
glasses ranging from a reflective index of 1.53 to 1.74. A reflective index is when light passes

Wicca, Akash The 5th Element Spirit
In Wicca, Akasha is the name given to the 5th Element also known as Spirit, not the human Spirit,
but in this context, Spirit as the source of all energy, the universal forces, all that is.
The word Akasha itself is a Sanskrit word for Aether meaning clear sky or pure air. This must not
be confused by the chemical substance ether .
Is interesting to know that in Alchemy, Aether unlike other elements didn t have a definite symbol
and it was normally and unofficially represented by a circle.

We are interconnected and all happens in and through Akasha.
So, if we consider the above statement, then we have a big responsibility towards nature and
ourselves, therefore we need to learn to understand and control the elements. What I mean by
controlling the elements is that by understanding the 3 aspects of the elements, how they manifest
within us and around us, we can achieve balance, through our daily practice, rituals, connecting
with nature and our emotional estate.
For example if Communication is one of the emotional aspect of the Element Air and we know that
we struggle to communicate with our partners or there s lack of communication with our spouses
or we find it difficult to express ourselves to get a message across to them... then we should work
with that Element on that area in order to achieve balance in that Element within

The Camelot Caper written by Elizabeth Peters in 2012, is a nonfiction story about a young
American woman who goes to England to meet her grandfather and return an old family

While escaping from the two men that were chasing her, she discovered a new friend and lover

story. He gets beaten up multiple times, climbs through miles of rocky and swampy terrain,
makes elaborate plans for escape, ideas to capture the pursuers, and he is shot in the shoulder,
all because he is in love with Jessica. His mouth curved up and he gave her a quick hard kiss

Effects Of Environment On The Environment
In many distinctive instants, change does not occur until something drastic happens; only then do
people begin to come to awareness. According to Physicians for Social Responsibilities ,
environmental factors are estimated to be responsible for approximately 80% of cancer diagnosis
and deaths in the U.S. alone. Children, animals, and life everywhere are suffering due to
consequences of environmental hazards. The detrimental consequences of unprotected
environments are much greater than many perceive; therefore, by limiting harmful methods of
environmental destruction and raising awareness these consequences may be decreased. The
amount of contamination in the Earth s water and atmosphere has increased tremendously over the
years. Factors such as fossil fuel combustion, water pollution, deforestation, toxic chemicals, and a

Investigation has brought out evidence that pernicious industrial chemicals seem to be more

The Consequences Of Global Warming
The Consequences of Global Warming
What does someone think of when the topic of global warming is presented? They might think of
the earth warming, or the sun burning up, but do they think of the affects this issue has caused our
Mother Earth or think about what they do on a day to day basis as being the prime contributor to
this environmental problem? Do they realize or even worry about the next generation dying
because of the various factors of global warming? Some may think of global warming as a tale or
publicly over rated, but what they do not realize is that global warming has become one of the top
three environmental problems of the century. Some do not agree that humans are to blame, only
nature going through its natural cycle. Although, scientists around the world are now beginning to
have proof of this cause and effect we have placed on our planet which is beginning to answer the
question of global warming being real. According to the United States Environmental Protection
Agency, The earth s average temperature has risen by 1.4* over the past century, and it is projected
to rise by another 2 to 11.5*F over the next hundred years. Small changes in temps of the planet can
translate to large and potentially dangerous shifts in climate and weather ( Climate Change: Basic
Information ). Because of human activities, global warming has been created, which is the key
component to habitat loss, extinction of species, unpredictable weather patterns, and the chance of

Speech About Magallanes
Magallanes is one of the reasons why the city of Makati is constantly on the move. Its roads are
pivotal access ways that bring commuters from EDSA and the South Expressway to and from
the business district. Though it is a far cry from Philippine s numerous beaches, Magallanes is
the perfect destination for individuals who are into the fast paced lifestyle. At a Glance
Magallanes presents itself like any typical city. Because of its proximity to Makati, its views are
dominated by lofty buildings, concrete highways, and abundant cars. Magallanes also has a
residential area, due to its barangay status, so there are a handful of villages and houses sprawling
around. However, Magallanes does have a couple of nearby locations that take you away from the
urban landscape momentarily. And the great thing about it is that, they are all easy to get to. As

How Did Humankind Evolve From The Sumerian And Egyptian...
The Development of Writing Materials From the Sumerian and Egyptian Times Today, writing
materials are easy to come by and something humans tend to take for granted. There was, however,
a time that paper did not exist. According to the book Scribes, Script and Books written by Leila
Avrin:
Today we think of a book as a gathering of paper pages bound together with a protective cover.
For the books of older, partially lost civilizations, we must expand our imagination to include all
kinds of writing instruments and bookmaking materials we would not have considered otherwise,
such as stone, metal, trees (wood, bark, bamboo, and palm leaves), glass, ivory, clay, wax, fabric,
and the bones and skins of animal. (64)
The question is, how did humankind evolve from the point that thoughts, events, and numbers
could not be conveniently recorded to where humankind is now with written materials readily
available? This paper will defend the statement that the Egyptians ... Show more content on

Compared to the Sumerian Empire, the Egyptians were more civilized and had the time and
resources available to focus on the further development of literature. In the book, A History of
Writing edited by Ann Marie Christin, Christin confirms, writing was used in everyday life
(correspondence, administrative, legal documents) and in ideological and religious writing on
temples, royal monuments, and funerary monuments, as well as in autobiography documents,
religious rites, and for magical spells (46). The Egyptian people incorporated writing into their
work. Masonry workers carved artful inscriptions into arches and pillars. Morticians inscripted
sacred rites onto coffins. Agricultural workers kept detailed records of flood dates, seed treatment,
yields, and profits on scrolls of papyrus. Middle class Egyptians started to make reading and writing

The Winter
We ve got to get those crops in soon honey. The rains are coming and so is the cold.
Yes I know dear. I m not even sure we will have enough for the winter. Oh Morgan, I m worried.
With Suzie crook and these fusses lately; she s just a girl. Not very strong you know. Yes
Barbara, I know. If we just conserve what supplies the good Lord has helped us gather for the
coming seasons. I ll try to hunt for more meat; I ll trap some more furs to sell at the markets
before the bite of winter truly sets in. We ll be fine honey.
Oh I hope so Morgan. I Really do.
It was a simple home that Morgan had constructed himself when they settled here two years ago.
He had sawn and shaped the timber poles with some help from the neighbors well, hardly neighbors
since the closest one was about three miles away across rough terrain.
However, it served. He had even installed real glass panels in the window frames. They cost a
pretty penny, and yet absolutely essential in this harsh and extreme climate up here in the
mountains. Flat land was not common at such an altitude. The soil was rich from ancient volcanic
activity in the area. Crops grew well, usually despite the terrain. This year had been a harsher one
however than from what the locals had said; for ten years or thereabouts .
It was that same period of time in which several families, starved to death in their mountain huts
because of crop failures. Bodies had lain undiscovered until the next spring, looking like frozen

Wound Healing Essay
The healing of wounds particularly chronic wounds is currently an important area of research. With
more than 6.5 million patients in the United States dealing with chronic wounds, and $25 billion
spent yearly on treatments (Sen et al, 2009), a better understanding of the wound healing process is
beneficial to a wide range of patients dealing with wounds related to accidents, burns, and disease
processes. It has been suggested that therapeutic strategies to promote wound healingmight focus on
immune systemmodulation (Julier, 2017). The overall progression of a healing wound involves
multiple types of cells, cellular processes, and growth factors (Strbo, 2014). However, significant
contributions come from the response of the innate... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
(Godwin Rosenthal, 2014). Additionally, research has demonstrated that during wound healing,
changes occur in the thymus (the organ in which T cell maturation occurs) revealing increases in
thymus size, changes in morphology, and proliferation of a variety of immune cells within the
medulla (Franchini Bertolotti 2014).
Research Goals
We propose to study the relationship between the thymus, T cells, and wound healing by
performing larval thymectomy to generate T cell deficient tadpoles and frogs. Alternatively, many
studies have demonstrated that mice missing the recombinase activating gene (RAG) are deficient
in functional B and T lymphocytes (Thompson, 1992; Mombaerts et al, 1992; BelizГЎrio, 2009).
Our study can be accomplished by the use of RAG knockout frogs, which we hope to obtain.
Regardless of the method of obtaining T cell deficient tadpoles and frogs, wound healing will be
evaluated by a combination of molecular and histological techniques. Our goal is to better
understand the role T lymphocytes have in wound healing.
Research Plan
Generating tadpoles and frogs without a thymus Microscope guided electrocautery of the thymic
lobes will be performed on early stage (Niewkoop Farber, NF, stages 42 48) tadpoles. The
procedure will consist of first anesthetizing the tadpole, then using sharpened tungsten wires
connected to an adapted power supply to pierce the thymic lobes and perform

Is Free College A Good Idea Essay
Is free college a good idea? College, in our everyday world, is considered to be something that
uplifts or elevates a person s opportunity in life and is widely regarded as a huge reward on
completion. However, is taking away some of the risk in this achievement, the correct thing to
do? Changing an integral part of American society, such as college, could have many life
changing and societal negative effects and is overall not worth it. College should not be free
the first two years due to a necessity to raise taxes to accommodate the free college , academic
and educational quality being hindered due to more teachers being needed, and apathy among
students if college became risk free. First, taxes would raise massively to accommodate for the
money that is lost from students not having to pay the first two years and colleges having to keep

Ageism, By Robert Butler
According to Dittman (2003), A survey of 84 people ages 60 and older, nearly 80 percent of
respondents reported experiencing ageism such as other people assuming they had memory or
physical impairments due to their age. What exactly is ageism? Ageism, termed by Robert Butler
in 1969, is a form of discriminationor prejudice based on age. This can be emotionally or
physically abusive for the individual. Elder adults are the majority that receive this kind of abuse.
The elder population is continuously growing as death rates fall. This means that ageismwill be a
growing problem in years to come. One example of ageism that you can expect to see is
stereotyping. There are many different stereotypes, which is just one of the forms of
discrimination used against elders that younger people associate with seniors. For example,
younger people joke about how slow older people are in their various activities. Most people
consider elders a burden, which is part of what causes this negative association with them. There
are so many ways people can discriminate against elders, but where does this take place?
Ageism in the elder population can take place in employment, healthcare, and social media. In
an American society, almost everything you do is based on employment. You go through twelve
years of school only to graduate and go back to school to prepare for your career. We spend our
whole lives preparing for our field of work or working. Many people work until the age of

After the Women s Suffrage Movement, Alice Paul introduces the Equal Rights Amendment in
1923 to Congress, but is pushed aside as it was not seen as great importance at the time, hence why
it was not urgent for it to be reviewed and passed for an awaited ratification. A new movement rolls
in to improve the conditions women faced in the late 1900s, also known as the second wave
feminist movement. Martha Griffiths, a woman who served on the House Committee on Ways and

n the years to follow, after women are granted the right to vote, Congress and Alice Paul
introduce the amendment. As stated previously, it has been ignored for decades, until Griffiths
created a joint resolution and reintroduces the improved amendment. During the time in which
the ERA had not been brought up by the congress, the National Women s Organization,
otherwise known as NOW, had been advocating for it, being created in 1967 and lead by Paul.
NOW repeatedly asks and protests for the amendment to be passed so it could be ratified by the
states. Even after the ERA is passed, NOW does not stop in spreading the word about the
amendment, not now, not ever (now.org). Betty Friedan s book, titled The Feminine Mystique

Separation Of The Proteins Involved
Separation of the proteins involved in both species blood and serum revealed that each was
composed of a major protein. A prominent protein in the rabbit blood was found accumulating at
approximately 13kDa, as shown in Figure 1 and Figure 2. It was concluded that this protein was
most likely hemoglobin, given the weight and large amount present in all blood due to its necessary
function of transporting oxygen and carbon dioxide throughout the body. Hemoglobin is a
tetrameric proteinof about 64.5 kDa, consisting of two chains and two chains which breaks down
into each subunit having an approximate weight of 15kDa (Yu et al, 1997). This was in correlation
with the data present in Figure 1, given that the major protein present in rabbit blood was
approximately 13kDa, which would be the subunits that make up hemoglobin.
We hypothesized that similar proteins would also be present in bovine blood, yet the major band
present in this sample was located at much higher molecular weight of approximately 45 kDa.
Potential causes in weight differences could be the longer amino acid sequence present in rabbit
hemoglobin, 170 amino acids, versus the 145 amino acids present in bovine hemoglobin, yet this
would result in bovine being further down on the gel versus what is actually shown (Altschul et al,
1997). Given the data obtained, potential misidentification of hemoglobin appearing as the main
protein present or possible error in lane one (rabbit blood), could explain the anomaly in

Nurse Retention
Do you agree with the identified problem?
Yes, I agree that the there is an issue in regards to orientation process and the relationship it has on
staff retention within our unit.
I believe that a lack of proper orientation can have a tremendous impact of nurse retention rates.
With improper orientation the entire unit suffers. It correlates with a decrease in the quality of care,
patient safety and satisfaction, as well as nurse confidence. Having all staff trained in an extensive
and consistent orientation program brings about better continuity and higher quality of care, as
well as an increase in positive patient outcomes. The lack of an extensive and consistent
orientation program leads to a deficit in critical thinking skills and clinical knowledge. When a
nurse is not fully prepared for her role within a unit, it directly translates into patient care practices.
I believe it also leads to a decrease in staff satisfaction for the new nurse as well as the seasoned
nurses within the unit. This frustration can lead to burnout and ultimately a high turnover rate of
nurses.
Suggestions for improving the problem: A consistent and extensive orientation program for new
nurses.

National Anthem Essay
The controversial issue of protesting the National Anthem has plagued the United States since the
year of 2016. Disputes have occurred over whether or not the athletes should be able to display
their opinion to the public even if the demonstration offends our armed forces. Many say the
protests are useless because the kneeling is diverting the public eye from the original issue; the anti
protest collection also agrees that the kneeling is not unconstitutional, and it should be restricted by
the owners of the teams. Though all of the arguments can be assumed to be correct, one might could
argue that these athletes were given this high platform so that they could be allowed to use their
freedom of speech to express their views about inequality, injustice, police brutality, etc. and to show
equality through the unification of their teams. This act of defiance against the National Anthem
was said to be disrespectful to the men and women that have protected this country. Many war
veterans agree with this because they believe that the athletes are dishonoring the symbol that gave
each of us our freedoms. I stand for our flag and anthem, and I kneel for our fallen. That s what
patriots do, (Griggs). The veterans of our country are not the only ones expressing their beliefs on
the subject; a publication by the Wall Street Journal states that before the National Anthem in

the city had become, the Bass Brothers Enterprise decided to make the Bass Hall out to be the
centerpiece of the Sundance Square by making it the best architecturally and aesthetically, as well
as acoustically. Bass Hall is currently the permanent home of the Texas Ballet Theater, Fort Worth
Symphony Orchestra, Fort Worth Opera, and the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition
and Cliburn Concerts(Bradley Hasse, 6). Before Revitalization the thought of such programs was
ridiculously impossible, especially for them to be based out of Fort Worth. The Bass Brother s
contribution of the Nancy Lee and Perry R. Bass Performance Hall, as the crown jewel of
Sundance square to many artists and musicians all over the world due to its global recognition for
being one of the top ten best opera houses in the world (Fort Worth Architecture, 1) further allotted
for attention to be drawn into the city further than it already was, due to the completed
Revitalization process. As stated, the building was originally rejected by the city as a tax funded
project (as taxpayers felt their money was better used elsewhere), so the millionaires were so
adamant about creating the famous hall at the time that the

Communicative Approach To Language Teaching
In the long history of language learning, especially in the case of learning English as L2,
educationalists have been tirelessly trying to explore more and more practical approaches that
ranged from conventional methods like Grammar translation method, Direct method, Situational
Language Teaching etc., to the latest mode of communicative approach. The conventional teaching
methods the unsuccessful result of the earlier language theories, were proved to be ineffective,
because it was felt in all the methods, that the learners were passive and the teaching learning
process was mechanical. Hence during the 1960s, a new trend of language teaching called

In the south eastern part of England a boy named Cedric Caedmon AnlГЎf. Cedric was a
mischievous boy since birth and was always trying to steal something. When word came about
Robin Hood the giver to the poor this set Cedric on a path of greatness.
You see when he heard and saw that people adored Robin he said to himself why not I start to
steal things for the poor as well. Cedric started his plan the next day. For about 5 months he stole
from the rich and gave to the poor and his life was the best it had been. But then he was caught
stealing from the sheriff of nottingham and was thrown in jail.
He was in jail for 2 weeks and then the jailer was walking down the hall with a new prisoner (little
did he know that it was Robin Hood, for Cedric had never seen him before.) Robin was thrown in
jail right next to Cedric. Cedric asked him why he was thrown in jail. Robin had been staring at

Network Security And The Security
Hospital Network Security With a multitude of changes occurring in the technology field, it is
critical that hospitals maintain the highest levels of security for their internal network as well as
their public access network. Hospitals contain vital information about patients, treatment styles,
employees and staff, as well as pharmaceuticals that are kept on the premises. The importance of
protecting this information cannot be understated and a breach in securitycould cause a breakdown
in all areas of the network, having a catastrophic effect on the entire hospital. One of the most
important aspects of network security is a strong network security model. The network security
model consists of seven layers that work together to provide the strongest possible security for the
network. The seven layers are the physical layer, the vlan layer, the software layer, the user layer,
the administrative layer, and the IT department layer. A network security model that is well thought
out and designed allows the network security team to analyze and maintain the network and
determine if there has been a breach and the location of the breach. The first layer of the network
security model, the physical layer, pertains to physical security. This entails the prevention of a
physical attack on servers and other devices connected to the network. The physical layer is one of
the most important layers of protection because if it is breached, the layers beneath it will

Why I Want To Understand The Brain By Anne Sexton
Sexton s poem allowed me to understand what it must feel like to live with a mental illness such
as depression. I was quite frightened to find that Sexton constantly wanted to kill herself. Her
confessional style of poetry allowed me to understand that this type of mental illness is a reality
for people. The way in which Anne Sexton describes her desire for death, allowed me to
understand the power depression held on her mind and body. The need to end her life must have
meant that dying outweighed any need to live. Anne Sexton had two children and I am shocked
she would abandon these two children for an escape from the world. I realised Sexton s drive to
kill herself was greater than the love for her own family. Even though it was selfish of

the social media craze first started, most people used it for quick communication and
entertainment. It was sites like MySpace and AIM that are held responsible to get the social

These religious groups can vary from Christianity to Buddhism and anything in between. If one
of these groups contacts someone on social media it would most likely only be them trying to

world. Some of the groups can be hate groups or extremists for a certain religion. The most
common in today s world is the Islamic extremist group called ISIS. Terrorist groups like ISIS
watch certain American citizens to try and recruit them for terrorist training camps overseas. They
will single out vulnerable citizens that are easily persuaded with tactics like Reverse Shoutouts,

account donations, which is when a terrorist group like ISIS starts a twitter account and makes it
known for terrorist activities. After ISIS is done with the account, they will hand it off to an
easily influenced child to try and persuade them to leave America and join ISIS overseas. With
ISIS and other terrorist groups trying to poison the American youth, some sort of restrictions are
needed to be put on social media sites to avoid the amount of watching that these terrorist groups
are doing to the children at home. Some steps that can be taken right away to avoid being watched

Challenger Space Shuttle Disaster Summary
A)Do you think that the most critical issues that contributed to the Challenger space shuttle disaster
in 1986 were primarily data quality issues (i.e. data in poor condition that did not meet
requirements) or information quality issues (i.e. information products that did not meet
expectations or deliver value)? Explain your answer and support your reasons with quotations from
the paper.
In my view, Challenger space shuttle disaster was primarily due to the data quality issues. There
are various reasons to support my statement from the article. The variables which are responsible
for quality of data has been violated in this case such as accuracy, consistency, completeness,

say this from the statement that he lacked confidence due to the inexperience and followed his

violations of data quality.
пѓ The problems associated with NASA database is also one of the major violations. Here, the O
rings are misclassified and misreported and in some cases it is shown as redundant.
This lead to the serious accuracy and consistency violations.
пѓ There was no completeness in this whole process. The critical components were not cross
referenced with the test plans hence it became tough for the management. This was one of the
major failures.

The sociopolitics portion Monaco mentions, deals with in the film two police officer partners
who become more than coworkers they become brothers in a sense. Director Ayer does a great
job when it comes to the way the film is integrated with human experience in general. To start,
the police officers Brian Taylor (Jake Gyllenhaal) and Mike Zavala (Michael Pena) are set out
on duty in a tough neighborhood. It s often mentioned how black neighborhoods are always the
toughest neighborhoods and have high crime rates. We can see in the film how the human
experience comes into play; first scene starts with a call to an African Americans house where
the officers are set into a fist fight right off the back. Although the movies is not just based off
African American s, it also deals with Mexican Americans and their drug cartel. If we were to
base off the human experience in general than this movie would have a negative effect on the
human population. I m sure director Ayer is aware of the characters chosen and understands the
significance of the film. The psychopolitics portion of Monaco s explanation in his text deals
with our own personal experience and specific details. For my personal experience this movie was
an eye opener, director Ayer and his work of art he created with this film was astonishing. Me being
a criminal justice major, I got a sense of what life on duty was like and director Ayer was

Cannibalism Or The Consumption Of Human Flesh By Human
Cannibalism Culture
Cannibalism or the consumption of human flesh by humans is an act in which many people feel
uneasy about and is ethically immoral to participate in ( Cannibalism , 2008: 427). However, it is
a ritual that is practiced in some parts of the world. There are still cultures that feel that the eating
of humans by humans (Lawless, 2006: 435), is perfectly conventional and acceptable. This may
create a culture shock for many individuals that don t engage in such rituals The reasons why
people participate in cannibalism are due to many factors, but it all narrows down to the culture that
an individual is introduced and/or indulged in. It is common to think that Cannibalism can be seen

whether positive or negative does not directly reflect the opinions of every individual in the

The main conflict of the play is Jack s realization that the four men are wearing him out and that
he needs to move on with his life. The play The Boys Next Door supports the connection
between global cultural experiences due to its portrayal of the disabilities as realistically as
possible. Although the description of the play may make it seem like a heavy handed drama, the
play is actually filled with some comical moments. However for the play to work, the audience
must be laughing with the characters, not at them. The direction of the play portrayed this rule
effectively, and it brought a blend of sympathy along with sportive humor as shown by the ending
scenes, where you laugh at Arnold s threats to move to Russia if Jack leaves,

Due to its lengthy history of application, efficacy and safety, Sierpina and Frenkel (2005) posit that
more patients with migraine prefer acupuncture. Even though in depth clinical trials of acupuncture
benefits in addition to the comprehension of its action mechanism are far behind its extensive
application, physicians should understand how they can use it to treat their patients with migraine.
Acupuncture, one form of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) therapy, has been gradually
widely accepted in the Western society as an alternative treatment for migraine as it is evaluated as
more cost effective and less side effect (Deng et al., 2002).
Acupuncture connotes a set of procedures, which includes anatomical points stimulation on the
body through various techniques. This technique has been studied scientifically and involves using
needles (metallic, solid and thin) to penetrate the skin with stimulation by electrical devices or
hands. For centuries, acupuncture has traditionally been used to treat a number of pain conditions
such as migraine.

Argumentative Essay On Bill 9

good amount of Information that is Against Bill number 9 like how it actually would not help

cents raise in cost for gas may sound like it is not much, but when paying for gas that 45 cents
would cause it to go up from 60$ for a full gas tank to 90$ for a full gas tank. Another reason why
raising the gas prices would be bad is that it would cost so much more to take publ=ic transportation

1. Q: How was King John I generally perceived as a king by his followers/citizens?
A: Under King John s reign, he issued a new coinage system that not only helped sustain the
kingdom s economy, but promoted the importation and exportation of goods and the development
of urban areas. King John s motives would later escalate taxation, punishing those who weren t

restrictive of his land after his hold on Normandy was relinquished from Phillip of France in 1204

Answer: Animal pollinated plants are strong, which make them easier to be found during evidence collection but not a plentiful as wind pollen. Wind dispersed pollen produces large amounts of pollen, which makes it easier to be found in forensic science during evidence collection, but it s harder to direct find a suspect with this type of pollen. Water dispersed pollen absolutely has to stay in water or it will degenerate. So this type of pollen doesn t exactly help in forensic science unless a victim was drowned. 17)Describe how pollen can be used to determine if a crime occurred in the city or in the country or during the day or night. Answer: Pollen can be used to determine if a crime occurred in the city or in the country or during the day or night because country city conditions are different. The air is more polluted in the city than in the country, which can affect plantcycles. Also, the city has a lot more sidewalks other pavements, shaded areas and not very much fertile soil for plants to even grow. This majorly limits the types and survival of plants in that environment. Plants mostly flower in the daytime opposed to the night time because there is sun only in the daytime. This means that there is more pollen in the air during the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Analysis Of Yiyun Li s A Thousand Years Of Good Prayers Yiyun Li s A Thousand Years of Good Prayers has a recurring theme among its protagonists. Several characters have not met certain emotional needs which leaves them searching for ways to meet these needs wherever possible. Oftentimes, characters enter a one sided relationship and give themselves completely to a person with nothing in return because it fulfills whatever needs the character has. These relationships are most evident in Extra and A Thousand Years of Good Prayers . In Extra, Granny Lin s emotional deficit comes from her lack of relationships throughout her life. Her whole life she was never married, never had any children, and cooped up in a factory all day. After Granny lin was forced to retire, Auntie Wang arranged... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The one sidedness of the relationship is physical as well. Granny Lin looks out for Kang by supplying him with socks to save him embarrassment (Li 19). The way Granny Lin describes her relationship with Kang also shows how she has been deprived of romantic love her whole life. She wonders if this is the love she missed in her younger years, hand and hand with a dear boy and in the closing lines of the story she calls her time with Kang her brief love story (Li 18, 22). While I concede that Granny Lin s relationship with Kang is problematic given the age difference, I contend that, knowing what the reader knows about Granny Lin s lonely past, the relationship takes on a new light. The life Granny Lin led prior to her factory retirement left her emotionally starved and put her romantic and emotional desires in a state of dormancy. These buried and dormant desires were awoken by Old Tang, the object around which her feelings were able to manifest. After Tang s death, those feelings may have left Granny Lin feeling even more empty because now she was aware of them but had nobody to love. Her relationship with Kang arose because they were both the most vulnerable in the school. She was vulnerable due to her emotional and romantic cavities, while Kang was vulnerable because of his familial issues. Some might call Granny Lin s love for Kang predatory, but it comes ... • 5. The Dramatic Importance of the Boxing Scene Between Eddie... The dramatic importance of the boxing scene between Eddie and Roldolpho The story, A View from the Bridge is set in America and it talks about a longshoreman, Eddie. He has kindly let two of his relatives who are illegal immigrants from Italy stay in his house. The boxing scene in Act 1, episode 5 of the play is of dramatic importance as it reveals the tension between Eddie and Rodolpho, one of the illegal immigrants. The scene highlights the different views and relationship of the two women towards Eddie as he is starting to resemble a tragic hero and is on his path of self destruction and downfall. It also emphasizes the growing importance of Marco s role which eventually leads to the climax at the beginning of Act 1. Arthur Miller ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Catherine might have also done that on purpose so she could annoy Eddie because of what he has done to Rodolpho. From here we can see that Catherine s view towards Eddie is deteriorating as she acts more rebellious around him while Beatrice still thinks there is hope for Eddie and is still on his side. The end of Act 1 closely resembles a Greek Tragedy. In the boxing scene, Eddie begins to make bold moves and does things that are out of the ordinary. Feints with his left hand and lands with his right . He starts making mistakes without realizing it as he decides to physically hurt Rodolpho by punching him. This is just the beginning of his path towards self destruction as he makes his fatal flaw later on in the play. The other characters in the play are all slowly turning against him. Catherine decides to be rebellious in front of Eddie, You wanna dance, Rodolpho? Marco challenges Eddie by asking him, Can you lift this chair? Beatrice criticizes Eddie for being too overprotective and his unnatural affection towards Catherine, Well then, be an uncle then. Rodolpho tries to reason with Eddie, I have respect for her, Eddie. • 7. Analysis On The Digital Age Insurance 1Abstract In today s Digital Age Insurance companies generate and gather data each minute, hour and day. Every individual in these organizations starting at the top from executives, departmental decision makers, to underwriters, claims adjusters and call center workers hope to learn things from collected data that can help them make better decisions for the organization, take smarter actions and operate more efficiently leading to Profitability. • 8. Religions of Judaism, Christianity, Islam 1. God to the people of the big three monotheist religions (Judaism, Christianity, Islam) see god as an all knowing, all seeing, and all powerful being. I believe that that the Cosmological argument gives good reason to believe in the existence of God. The Cosmological argument focuses on everything having a cause except one thing that started it all, this starter is known as the Prime Mover . The Prime Mover is the one that starts everything without anything having a previous effect on it. With that people have assumed that the logical answer to who the prime mover is, is God. This to me seems the most logical of arguments because although there is the idea of eternity and an eternal cycle there has to be a starting point. I do not believe the argument is successful. The reason that the argument does not succeed is because what proof is there that the prime mover is an all powerful all mighty being? There could be alternate reasons related to science, The Big Bang Theory, which could also be a reason. One of Aquinas s arguments against the cosmological argument discussed that since everything in nature had a time where it did not exist there had to be a time where it was nothing to bring anything into being. His argument was if this was possible there was nothing around to bring the universe into being in the first place. Due to this a being such as God is not likely to have existed before to create it. Circumcision is the oldest optional surgical procedure known to human kind and may be more than 15,000 years old. The question that we will discuss whether this is ethical or not, and is it medically necessary. Let s begin with the medical issues, is it necessary or not to have a male circumcision. Also, the Nazi s did not only sterilize Jews, they sterilized the mentally ill and those of mixed race (Forced Sterilization). Although the Nazi s conducted this horrible event, they were not the only one, nor the first. Hitler and his cabinet approved the first eugenic law only six months after his taking over of office. A German psychiatrist, August Forel, tried to support sterilization of the mentally ill by stating that it is, a national sacrifice similar to that of a soldier in the time of war (Evans 106). Also, gynecologist, Edwin Kehere, sterilized female patients that he believed should no longer be allowed to bring lesser children into the world. Psychiatrist, Ernst Rudin, even suggested sterilization of alcoholics (Evans 106 7). The court s decided that forced sterilization could take place even against the will of the person. In 1934, the court sterilized 62,463 people; while in 1935, the court sterilized 71,760 people then again in 1936 the number went back down to 64,646. Two thirds of the members on each hereditary court held a profession in medicine so each sterilization case remained a disguise for the procedure (Friedlander 27). Of the people sterilized, fifty two percent were diagnosed with congenital feeblemindedness, thirty two percent schizophrenia, fourteen percent hereditary epilepsy, etc (Friedlander 29). Wajib is defined by the jurists as a thing which has been proved by an allegorical evidence and it s status will be equal to that of Fard .However the Hanfi Consider Fard a thing without which one may be left outside the mode of Islam . Now the jurists have a couple of view upon the fact that which Hukm will cause an obligation or that how a demand will be seen as categorical. The First view is that if the demand is w.r.t to Amar, Hukum and that if the language constitutes an Amar or an imperative sense it constitutes and Obligation. Whereas Immam Ghalzi puts forwards his own view stating that if the demand is followed by a punishment will be known as categorical demand and it will create an Obligation. Now Demands are of 2 types One tell us to do something and the second one tells us to abstain from something. Things to be done are Obligation which has already been discussed. Whereas the things which are not to be Done are Known as Prohibited or Haram in Arabic. In its Book Weiss says that it is the nature of law that prescribes an obligation or permitted. Haram is when the demand is made for omitting of acts and is expressed in binding terms . Examples can be seen in the cases of Adultery, Riba, Intoxication and Etc. • 13. Persuasive Essay On Child Welfare Imagine you and your siblings living in a house where your father is violent and your mother is struggling to protect herself and her seven children. Imagine these people come to your house and take you and your siblings away from your parents, split you up, and send you to different houses, hours away from each other. Imagine later on finding out your mother is dead and your father does not want to take you back. Imaging moving again, and again, and again. Imaging being in abusive households, houses in areas so rural there is no internet, moving schools over and over again. Imaging going to five different primary schools. Imagine being a teenager and not being able to tell anyone, lying about the number of siblings you have, lying through your teeth day after day because you cannot pick up the courage to tell anyone. Imagine if this was you. When I say the words poor child welfare you may think of the children who are living in poverty or the children who are employed in child labour, or children who live in the middle of war zones. What you might not think of is the children struggling right beneath our noses the homeless children, children in foster care, or children in abusive households. There are several reasons why I have chosen to focus on children, rather than all 7.5 billion people globally. This is because children keep the human race going, and children should not go through what some do. CHILD LABOUR Do you know where your chocolate comes from? Or your ... Zeus has taken part in many Greek and Roman myths alike, either as Zeus or as his Roman counterpart of Jupiter. Unlike most gods in mythology though, Zeus is the main character in almost all of the myths he is mentioned in. Whether the myth is about his epic clash against the Titans, his fight against the Giants or even about his extramarital affairs, Zeusalways seems to come out of these conflicts unaffected and triumphant. Zeus agreed and presented himself to her in his true form, Zeus true glory however burned Semele alive. (ML 301) This myth is a prime example of Zeus human tendencies of acting like a common man as he gives in to his more primitive needs and cheats on Hera with Semele. Another example of Zeus predisposition for not having control over his more human needs is the fact that Aphrodite has power over him. Aphrodite, the very powerful goddess of love and lust, flaunts about her alleged power over Zeus. This, however, angered Zeus and led to a very stern punishment for Aphrodite. Zeus was growing tired of Aphrodite s arrogance, so he punished her by making her fall in love with a mortal named Anchises. Zeus affinity for being the main character of a myth is no different in the epic myth about his fight against Cronus and the Titans or the Titanomachy. In this larger than life battle Zeus has to overthrow his father Cronus and take his predestined place as king of the gods. In this myth however, Zeus has to grow and overcome many challenges that stand in his way to greatness. Zeus has to ask for help from his mother in order to be able to free his sibling from his father Cronus who had swallowed them whole. After Zeus frees his siblings he has to face the mighty Titans, so he asks the Cyclops and the Hecatonchires to aid him in this battle that lasts ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Research Goals We propose to study the relationship between the thymus, T cells, and wound healing by performing larval thymectomy to generate T cell deficient tadpoles and frogs. Alternatively, many studies have demonstrated that mice missing the recombinase activating gene (RAG) are deficient in functional B and T lymphocytes (Thompson, 1992; Mombaerts et al, 1992; BelizГЎrio, 2009). Our study can be accomplished by the use of RAG knockout frogs, which we hope to obtain. Changing an integral part of American society, such as college, could have many life changing and societal negative effects and is overall not worth it. College should not be free the first two years due to a necessity to raise taxes to accommodate the free college , academic and educational quality being hindered due to more teachers being needed, and apathy among students if college became risk free. What exactly is ageism? Ageism, termed by Robert Butler in 1969, is a form of discriminationor prejudice based on age. This can be emotionally or physically abusive for the individual. Elder adults are the majority that receive this kind of abuse. The elder population is continuously growing as death rates fall. This means that ageismwill be a growing problem in years to come. One example of ageism that you can expect to see is stereotyping. There are many different stereotypes, which is just one of the forms of discrimination used against elders that younger people associate with seniors. For example, younger people joke about how slow older people are in their various activities. Most people consider elders a burden, which is part of what causes this negative association with them. There are so many ways people can discriminate against elders, but where does this take place? Ageism in the elder population can take place in employment, healthcare, and social media. A prominent protein in the rabbit blood was found accumulating at approximately 13kDa, as shown in Figure 1 and Figure 2. It was concluded that this protein was most likely hemoglobin, given the weight and large amount present in all blood due to its necessary function of transporting oxygen and carbon dioxide throughout the body. Hemoglobin is a tetrameric proteinof about 64.5 kDa, consisting of two chains and two chains which breaks down into each subunit having an approximate weight of 15kDa (Yu et al, 1997). This was in correlation with the data present in Figure 1, given that the major protein present in rabbit blood was approximately 13kDa, which would be the subunits that make up hemoglobin. We hypothesized that similar proteins would also be present in bovine blood, yet the major band present in this sample was located at much higher molecular weight of approximately 45 kDa. Potential causes in weight differences could be the longer amino acid sequence present in rabbit hemoglobin, 170 amino acids, versus the 145 amino acids present in bovine hemoglobin, yet this would result in bovine being further down on the gel versus what is actually shown (Altschul et al, 1997). • 33. Nurse Retention Do you agree with the identified problem? Yes, I agree that the there is an issue in regards to orientation process and the relationship it has on staff retention within our unit. I believe that a lack of proper orientation can have a tremendous impact of nurse retention rates. With improper orientation the entire unit suffers. It correlates with a decrease in the quality of care, patient safety and satisfaction, as well as nurse confidence. Having all staff trained in an extensive and consistent orientation program brings about better continuity and higher quality of care, as well as an increase in positive patient outcomes. The lack of an extensive and consistent orientation program leads to a deficit in critical thinking skills and clinical knowledge. When a nurse is not fully prepared for her role within a unit, it directly translates into patient care practices. I believe it also leads to a decrease in staff satisfaction for the new nurse as well as the seasoned nurses within the unit. This frustration can lead to burnout and ultimately a high turnover rate of nurses. Suggestions for improving the problem: A consistent and extensive orientation program for new nurses. Disputes have occurred over whether or not the athletes should be able to display their opinion to the public even if the demonstration offends our armed forces. Many say the protests are useless because the kneeling is diverting the public eye from the original issue; the anti protest collection also agrees that the kneeling is not unconstitutional, and it should be restricted by the owners of the teams. Though all of the arguments can be assumed to be correct, one might could argue that these athletes were given this high platform so that they could be allowed to use their freedom of speech to express their views about inequality, injustice, police brutality, etc. and to show equality through the unification of their teams. This act of defiance against the National Anthem was said to be disrespectful to the men and women that have protected this country. Many war veterans agree with this because they believe that the athletes are dishonoring the symbol that gave each of us our freedoms. I stand for our flag and anthem, and I kneel for our fallen. Network Security And The Security Hospital Network Security With a multitude of changes occurring in the technology field, it is critical that hospitals maintain the highest levels of security for their internal network as well as their public access network. Hospitals contain vital information about patients, treatment styles, employees and staff, as well as pharmaceuticals that are kept on the premises. The importance of protecting this information cannot be understated and a breach in securitycould cause a breakdown in all areas of the network, having a catastrophic effect on the entire hospital. One of the most important aspects of network security is a strong network security model. The network security model consists of seven layers that work together to provide the strongest possible security for the network. The seven layers are the physical layer, the vlan layer, the software layer, the user layer, the administrative layer, and the IT department layer. A network security model that is well thought out and designed allows the network security team to analyze and maintain the network and determine if there has been a breach and the location of the breach. The first layer of the network security model, the physical layer, pertains to physical security. This entails the prevention of a physical attack on servers and other devices connected to the network.
