This document provides an overview of Westward Expansion and Sectionalism in the United States between 1800-1850. It discusses the concept of Manifest Destiny and how it influenced expansion, the Mexican War from 1846-1848 which resulted in new territory for the U.S., and the Compromise of 1850 which temporarily defused tensions over slavery in the new territories.
