The Relationship Between Traditional Orthodox Judaism And...
Conservative Judaism is a major branch from the Religion of Judaism. The followers of Judaism are
monotheistic, meaning that they believe in one god. The focal points of Judaism are the covenants
made with God and the Hebrew Bible. There are three principal denominations of Judaism, including
Reform, Conservative and Orthodox. Reform Jews are the least conservative, ignoring some jewish
law, meanwhile Orthodox Jews uphold the Jewish laws and traditions. Conservative Judaism mediates
the position between traditional Orthodox Judaism and the radicalness of Reform Judaism (Nadell and
Melton 781). Conservative Judaism is a popular denomination because it resembles Reform in that it
espouses a more positive attitude towards modern culture, however it remains committed to the
observance of Jewish law and ceremony (Nadell and Melton 781). Although Conservative Judaism is
prosperous, it has not always been easy for the Conservative Jewish community. When I visited the
Beth Israel synagogue, I became curious about the tradition of Conservative Judaism and decided that
I wanted to learn more through research. The movement of Conservative Judaism began in Germany,
during the nineteenth century, by a rabbi named, Zechariah Frankel (Geffen 454). There was an issue
within the Jewish community on retaining Hebrew as the language of prayer. Frankel called for a more
positive historical Judaism (Golinkin and Panitz 171). This idea included a predisposition to accept the
positive,

The Epidemic Of The Obesity Epidemic Essay
Introduction The World Health Organization (WHO) defines obesity as the excessive accumulation of
fat that puts the person s health at risk (Lenzi et al., 2015). The prevalence of obesity has increased
worldwide over the past three decades. According to Holtz (2016), obese people have outnumbered
the undernourished, with the World Health Organization estimating that 1.9 billion adults are
overweight, out of which about 600 million are obese. Given the recent trends, it is estimated that 1.12
billion people will be obese by 2030 (Grossschädl, 2014). According to a report by the McKinsey
Global Institute, 2014), the global impact of the obesity epidemic is estimated to be $20 trillion, or 2.8
percent of the global gross domestic product (GDP), which is on a par with the global impact from
terrorism, armed violence, smoking, and warfare. Setting the Context Presently, the toll of the
epidemic on healthcare systems alone is between 2 percent and seven percent of net healthcare
spending in industrialized economies, excluding the huge costs associated with the treatment of heart
disease and type 2 diabetes that account for up to twenty percent of healthcare costs (Bassuk Manson,
2008; Alosco et al., 2015). In addition to the costs to healthcare systems, obesity undermines the
productivity of employees, thereby undercutting corporate competitiveness. According to the
Australian Bureau of Statistics (2013), during the period between 2011 and 2012, 62.8 percent of

Different Theories About Learning Styles Essay
Introduction Learning style is an individual s unique approach to learning based on strengths,
weaknesses, and, preferences. Learning styles explains the concept that every person learns
differently. Assessments of learning style typically ask individuals to evaluate what sort of information
presentation they prefer, and, what kind of mental activity they find most engaging, and, attractive for
them. Theories about learning styles agree that all people can be classified according to their style of
learning. In this paper different theories about learning styles are reviewed briefly. At the end, Gendlin
experiential theory is reviewed in detail.

There is a model that use to classify some of the most common ways of individuals learning styles.
The name of this model is VARK. New Zealand teacher Neil D. Fleming was inventor of VARK

Characteristics Of White Collar Criminals
White Collar criminals are not typically seen in the same light as regular Street criminals. When we
step back and take a look at what the characteristics are of a white collar criminal, we then can see
these criminals from a different point of view. The characteristics of a white collar criminal are very
different from each individual. The criminals committing these crimes also have to put in more effort
into planning and organizing their criminal offenses. Regardless of white collar criminals are not
typically seen in the same light as our regular Street criminals, their offenses are just as serious. White
collar crimes typically victimized more organizations than they do a single person. These crimes also
have large amounts of offenders and can go on for years, versus that of the crimes that street criminals
commit. White Collar criminals have shown to be individuals who are typically those who are key
team players within their company and choose to take advantage of their company and the company s
resources. It has been shown that most white collar criminals are older, white males between the ages
of 41 and 50. These offenders were more likely to have jobs, who don t commit as many offenses as
typical Street criminals and tend to start their criminal escapades later in their lives. These crimes are
also more likely to be on a national or International scope, be committed by larger groups of people,
happen in patterns, Target organizations instead of individuals, and

The Cores Of Confucianism
Introduction
From the 6th century to 221 BC, the Spring and Autumn period to the Warring States period, the
Ancient China experienced a lengthy chaos. Nonetheless, in such bloody era, the brilliant Chinese
philosophers sprang up and started a Golden Age of philosophy. People call this phenomenon as the
Contention of a Hundred schools of Thoughts. The philosophers discussed about the best way for a
country to survive, for an emperor to rule and for people to live. Those thoughts impacted the lifestyle
and social consciousness not only at that time but even in the following thousands of years, especially
for the Confucianism which was exclusively adopted in Han dynasty and rule the China for two
thousand years. In this essay, I will focus on the Confucianism, discuss the central doctrines.
The Cores of Confucianism
As we know During the Spring and Autumn period, China s feudal system gradually became
significant irrelevant. The emperor of Zhou dynasty had real control over only a small royal demesne
centered on their capital Luoyi near modern day Luoyang. During the early part of the Zhou dynasty
period, royal relatives and generals had been given control over fiefdoms in an effort to maintain Zhou
authority over vast territory. As the power of the Zhou kings waned, these fiefdoms became ... Show

Confucius envisioned proper government being guided by the principles of li. Some Confucians
proposed the perfectibility of all human beings with learning li as an important part of that process.
Overall, Confucians believed governments should place more emphasis on li and rely much less on
penal punishment when they govern. Though the Confucianism later was used by the government to
rule the country and maintain the feudal system strictly, the original purpose of Confucius did not
endorse the ideal that people should listen to all things by

Skid Row and the Safer Cities Initiative
The Safer Cities Initiative of Los Angeles was brought upon the city in late 2006 by Mayor, Antonio
Villaraigosa. The Initiative was primarily designed to remove the homeless and mentally ill citizens
from the isolated, 50 by 5 block, Los Angeles streets, known Nationally as Skid Row. In the end the
S.C.I. violated these citizens civil rights and failed to meet any set obligations and responsibilities.
Since the city of Los Angeles put this initiative into motion, the city then became responsible for these
people, as if they were the parent of these homeless children . You can t kick a homeless person off the
streets, they re homeless. So where do they go if they aren t allowed on the street? Where do the

R. v. Spencer, 2014 SCC 43, [2014] 2 S.C.R. 212
Facts
Mr. Spencer, who lived with his sister, connected to the Internet through an account registered in his
sister s name. He used LimeWire, a free peer to peer file sharing program, on his computer to
download child pornography from the Internet. Det. Sgt. Darren Parisien of the Saskatoon Police
Service, using publicly accessible software, searched for anyone sharing child pornography. He could
access whatever another user of the software had in his or her shared folder. He could also obtain two
numbers related to a given user: the IP address that matches to the specific Internet connection through
which a computer accesses the Internet and the globally unique identifier (GUID) number assigned to
each computer using particular software. The IP address of the computer is displayed as part of the file
sharing process. Det. Sgt. Parisien created a list of IP addresses for computers that had shared what he
believed to be child pornography. He then ran that list of IP addresses against a database which
matches IP addresses with approximate locations. He found that one of the IP addresses was suspected
to be in Saskatoon, with Shaw as the ISP. Det. Sgt. Parisien then determined that Mr. Spencer s
computer was online and connected to LimeWire. He was able to look through the shared folder. He
saw an extensive amount of what he believed to be child pornography. What he

Dramatic Impact On A Jacobean Audience
The Dramatic Impact on a Jacobean Audience of Act 1 Scene 5 of Shakespeare s Macbeth
In this essay I will be examining how Act 1 Scene 5 of Macbeth would have had a dramatic impact on
a Jacobean audience. I will also be exploring how Shakespeare s stagecraft his use of devices such as
symbolism, references to contemporary events and imagery would have helped to create this dramatic
impact. Macbeth was written to be performed on a stage, by actors, and to an audience. In Jacobean
England, drama was considered to be the greatest art form, and was appreciated by many classes of
people, from King James downwards, so these audiences would have been large and varied.

Two beliefs about witchcraft are also revealed by the letter. The belief that they could vanish into the
air is shown in the line they made themselves air, into which they vanished . The other belief shown is
that they could predict the future these weïrd sisters saluted me and referred me to the coming on of
time, The theme of the supernatural is strong throughout the play, and these references to witchcraft
would have been of especial interest to King James, for whom the play was first performed, as he was
particularly interested in witchcraft. Though this was the case, these references would also have
caught the attention of anyone who saw the play, as witchcraft was an important issue in Jacobean
Britain. They are also linked with darkness, unnaturalness and evil, other important themes of the play.
Many more beliefs about witchcraft are revealed in the rest of the scene, in Lady Macbeth s
soliloquies. . In her first soliloquy she says that I may pour my spirits in thine ear which shows the
belief that witches were able to influence people s thoughts. Parts of her second soliloquy in the scene
seem to be an incantation or spell. Her words come you spirits, who tend on mortal thoughts show that
witches could conjure up spirits to do their bidding, come to my woman s breasts is a reference to the
Jacobean s idea that witches were usually women,

Cardinal Directions
Within first century China, elements such as structure, cardinal directions, and the various stages of
enlightenment, were just some of the many ways the Buddhist culture displayed their religion into
their architecture. Places where these elements were displayed throughout the buildings were as
follows; The arrangement of the temples, colors in correlation to cardinal directions, and stupa rooves.
The Buddhist religion had a very strict way of assembling their buildings, following the guidelines of
the Kao gong ji; This document was a guide for laying out cities, outlining general principles that hold

Rooves in first century China were in a spire like form called chatra, and they resembled the stages of
enlightenment that Buddha achieved under the Bodhi tree. Relating the Kao gong ji and the walls from
which the Buddhists reside in, several buildings have specialized walkways for meditation because of
the significance of worship in their culture. The cardinal directions are prominent in the architecture
when looking at the White Horse Temple; the temples main entrance follows the principled regulation
of buildings by having the main gate face south, causing the building to be painted red in accordance
with the south. When looking atop The White Horse Temple, the square and spire like rooves are clear
indicators of the symbolism the architects were attempting to convey; Buddha s stages of

Action In Judaism
Many people inherit their religion from their parents and usually die in it; however, there are some
questions that need to be asked before choosing a religion. The most important choice should be
between believe or action. Action should have more emphasis than belief in a religion. Therefore,
Judaism is the perfect religion to accommodate right action due to its orthopraxy nature, due diligence
to society, not forcing others to convert, and knowing what each individual is destined to accomplish
while incorporating belief; in which it is hard to find the right combination of action and belief in
other religions.
One of the interesting aspect of Judaism is that Jews are more concerned with the book of Torah (Jews
Bible). Being a Jew is intertwined in doing the right thing and ... Show more content on

wives are treated with a great respect and have values. Hence, it can be observed that there is a strong

Starbucks On Clemson University Campus
On Monday, October 17 from one p.m. until two p.m. I observed people s behavior in Starbucks on
Clemson University campus. The majority of the population consisted of students most likely ranging
from eighteen years old to twenty four years old. This time of day seemed to be particularly busy, and
from where I was sitting I observed human behavior as they interacted within the space. The room
itself had an ordering area, an area to gather while waiting for your drink, and then multiple seating
arrangements, such as booths, high tables, large tables, and small tables. Even with all the furniture the
space had little obstructions, making it easy to oversee activity. People s interaction with others
depended greatly on whether or not they were with other people. If someone was alone they did not sit
at a table that had four or more chairs, instead they would opt for a table that was made for two
people. Pairs of people meeting each other at the location hugged, but when saying goodbye, they
simply walked away, not stopping to give a farewell. Groups tended to consist of younger students,
while individuals were more likely to be older students. While waiting to order their drink groups
would talk loudly, but upon sitting each individual would pull out something to occupy them and all
talking ceased. The talking amongst others in line gained the attention of people sitting down,
especially those that were sitting alone. If a group looked up at people talking in line there

The At The Edge Of The Castle Training Field Essay
At the edge of the castle training field, bathed by the rays of a waning autumn sun, Percival reached
for Fleur s hand as they waited for the knighting ceremony to begin. Deena and Ida, their girls, sat in
the grass, vibrating with excitement. Banon lay down between them, basking in the glory of belly
rubs, as the dog always did. It seemed impossible that the girls were ten and Banon was almost eleven.
Hadn t they come into Percival and Fleur s life only yesterday?
A cool afternoon breeze kissed Percival s face, and with that, he gazed at the sparse clouds above and
recalled the past. He was almost thirty three, and somehow, the past seemed closer than ever.
So much had happened during the past decade.
When Deena and Ida turned one, Percival and Gwaine, on a mission in Ismere, had been captured and
forced into slavery by Morgana. That was a dark and frightening time for Percival and Gwaine, yet
eventually, Merlin and King Arthur rescued them. Percival recalled his homecoming, when Fleur
carrying the twins in her arms Rion, and Banon charged from the castle and ran to him, sobbing with
joy. Rion all but pulled Percival from his horse, and Percival and his family stood outside in the
downpour, reunited and grateful. He had never felt more loved than in that moment.
Further, Arthur had managed to negotiate peace with King Odin, and Camelot and Cornwall had not
warred in years.
Regardless, there had been more dark times.

Examples Of Imperfection
Imperfection is not the opposite of perfection, as if it is a state not to be desired. Instead, imperfection
is the state of acceptance of self through love. Without seeing who you truly are, you won t know what
to change and what to keep. Perfectionism just throws everything out the window. Here are five ways
to truly be free by letting yourself live as you are.
I am Me
Accept me as I am is a battle cry. It doesn t mean that you won t change detrimental habits because
you are embracing who you are. It also doesn t mean that you are promoting laziness or lack of
ambition. What it does mean is that you have taken a look inside of yourself and seen who the person
inside truly is. There are things that you like about yourself and also things that you don t, but it all
works together to become the person that you are today.
True change in your life is an act of love. You can lose weight when you love who you are right now
at your current ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Imperfection says that the only way through is with love on board. Accepting and embracing you by
celebrating why you are unique. It is getting reacquainted with yourself through a few steps that show
the value that was there all along.
5 Ways to Imperfect Freedom
Take some serious time for introspection Don t be afraid to look at yourself honestly. Write down what
is positive and what is negative in your eyes. Find ways to change the wording of those negatives so
they are now positives that you can embrace. If you think that your ankles are big, find shoes to wear
that minimize their appearance as such.
Discover what you like to do and don t like to do Don t be afraid to say no to events or activities that
don t foster your interests just because it s a cool or acceptable thing to do.
Try something new Try bold colors for clothing or change your hairstyle. There s nothing wrong with
experimenting with new looks to accentuate your positives and give yourself a confidence

Cruel Titles
Titles suck. Almost any high school student would agree that writing an entire 5 paragraph essay can
oftentimes be much easier than typing just one sentence which captures the key ideas developed
throughout the entire essay. This is because students are taught the importance of having a title which
does much more than just capture the reader s attention. ...A title creates anticipation and expectation
or, perhaps, disinterest...So I think titles are extremely important (Reissenweber). Titles must also hold

Growth Mindset in Safety
Introduction
Safety is an important function of our daily lives and requires the same attention we give other
functions and processes within our daily job routines. Over the years as we continue to do our jobs and
the same processes we can become less safe by using short cuts to make a process easier for ourselves.
Also, the equipment we use begins to age and breakdown and cause unsafe conditions. Safety
professionals use many different types of safety programs to combat safety related issues or problems
one may encounter on a job site. Employee involvement is the most important part of any safety
program. Without employee involvement safety programs are not as successful, because employees
are sometimes not aware of the process and steps in place to protect them.

Research Paper On Synchronized Swimming
Synchronized swimming is known as both an art and a sport. It is the most glamorous sport I ever see,
girls have the grace and femininity of a Classic Ballet dancer. They use sparkling costumes and a lot
of waterproof make up. Swimmers perform a dance routine that starts on the deck of the pool, where
they make poses, and take to the water in ostensibly artistic fashion. The sport requires great strength,
endurance, grace, and timing. They also have to smile the whole time, even if their teammate kicks
them in the face during the performance. Accordingly to this, that is why people like me, see it as an
art thing not a sport. It looks so easy when you see the swimmers doing their performance without any
efforts. But then, my daughter who ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
People don t think of the actual athleticism the sport requires. Synchro is an extremely demanding
sport, swimmers have to work at maximum at every practice. Consequently, Synchronized swimming
is harder than regular swimming, because they have to be good swimmers too, fast and coordinated.
They swim miles, contrarily to popular belief. Therefore, they do sprints, they do anything that will
make them faster and stronger. But on top of that, they do tons of eggbeater drills, which is the kick
that they use to stay standing out of the water and do the dancing with their arms. They have to stay on
the count in routine, count the music, check their patterns, make sure they have good extension, keep
our shoulders dry in eggbeater, scull the entire time. Synchro couldn t even be compared to swimming

from one of eight variables. There were 288 measures of OJS. Every ninth individual was selected
resulting in thirty two (32) unique scores. The data was sorted by gender (17 males, 15 females) as

If the results were normally distributed and the satisfied employee scores mirrored the dissatisfied
employee scores, the mean would be 3.5. This is further supported by the fact that the median score is
greater than the mean. This suggests that some extreme scores on the dissatisfied side are lowering the
mean (4.56) when compared with the median (4.6). Males are slightly more satisfied than females
(4.8, 4.2).

Mandatory Military Draft Research Paper
The United States should not enforce a mandatory military draft. Imagine your only son just registered
for the draft by law. A week later he receives a call saying he has been drafted and must leave within
two weeks. Do you realize how much pain you would have to endure?
As you can tell, if the draft was reinstated many disputes would start to take place. Families all over
the United States would have to go through the pain of their children being forced to leave their home.
There are so many people who want to be in the military, there is almost no need for a mandatory
draft. With this is mind, those who are drafted are not are not near as dedicated as the troops who are
in, or are wanting to be in the military. Reason being, is that they

There on floor nineteen, Magnus is to wait to Ragnarok, die another hero s death, and move on with

From the Greek Gods, to Egyptian, in this story Riordan graced us with the tale of the Norse gods.
Odin, Frigg, Thor, Loki, Tyr, and Magnus s father Frey, these gods are just like the other: childish and

know how floor nineteen ended up being who they are, which is a nice way Riordan tied up loose
ends. Favorite character has to be Sam, she s so strong with her religious beliefs, trying to live her
double life, and let s be honest, Amir is the best boy in the world for Sam. Then there is Alex, one of
our more divers characters. With these being children books, it is truly great Riordan is accepting
more types of characters that kids can relate to. With Hearth being deaf, and yet such a strong

Compare And Contrast Holden And Catcher In The Raul
Two young men are both getting expelled from school. Both young men do not care that they are
getting expelled yet both lie saying they either entertain the idea of coming back (in Paul s case) or
that the school was utterly useless (in Holden s case). Paul in Paul s Case by Willa Cather, is a boy
who simply put, has no respect for school. He has a great passion for the viewership of arts especially
theatre and like everyone else, he hopes to achieve the american dream... just without the work.
Holden Caulfield in The Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger, is mostly confused; is like a child lost in
a field. He does not know what to do nor where to go. However, he desires to be a catcher in a field of
rye that catches children that are just about to run off a cliff. This is perceived as he wants to stop
children from crossing that threshold of becoming an adult, i.e. falling off the cliff, and preserve their
innocence. Although both Paul s and Holden s peregrinations and ultimate endings have their
differences, Holden is a clear reflection of Paul because a considerable amount of each of their
characters is the same and even the dissimilarities between them still sustain a relationship. Both Paul
and Holden have a common fear for their fathers but Paul has it much worse than Holden. For
example, when he came home late one night after ushering at Carnegie Hall, he was imagining
different scenarios of how his father would react to Paul coming home. In one scenario, he thought

In face of economic barriers of such dimension, media companies have shown a trend towards
concentration. 3. Efficiencies What appeared to be particularly new about these alliances and mergers
in the media industry was the search of not only the traditional economies of scale but, above all, the
search of economies of scope. This translated into an attempt to use the same product in a number of

Marketing Research Case Study: Sperry/MacLennan Architects and Planners
Introduction
Marketing Research can be designed for many scenarios. It is often referenced in existing companies
to understand how clients purchase their product, competition or how to best communicate with the
audience. This type of research is also necessary in a successful world wide expansion as it provides a
company with a blue print of how to grow. This paper will examine a global expansion case study and
how to perform marketing research in a global economy.

Key Issues
When a company desires to expand globally, there are several business decisions to make. The
physical expansion can often enough be one of the greatest initial challenges, but then it is followed
by cultural adjustments, new laws and borders. In the case study of the Sperry/MacLennan
Architecture firm, the company s desire to globally expand could present problems to implement as by
not considering other key markets.
The architecture firm is focused on growth and desires to design two sports facilities per year post
expansion. Often when companies are in a major expansion time, they may not take the necessary
steps to fully research all options. The Sperry/MacLennan Firm is no exception to this. The company
desires to jump on what seems to be a great opportunity, however, may not be investing in the
necessary resources to research it properly. Other markets that should be up for consideration are parts
of Europe or other areas within the United States (McDaniel, Jr, 2007).
The United States is one of the largest economies in the world. When the country thrives, there is great
opportunity and when the country is pained with recession the entire world feels it. A potential
challenge in expanding into the United States would be finding opportunities to build. The company
has chosen to focus on sports facilities, and within the new target market they see great

This is prominent in the article Living Cadavers in Bangladesh as 33 kidney sellers had traded their

can succumb to their demands, as they are in deep poverty, or are trying to go overseas for a better
life. The buyers post advertisements in newspapers, since people read them, and because they do not

society that all human beings live in being deceived by the well off people for their own motive,
making the less fortunate face difficulties, and in return, get shamed by society and having to deal
with that guilt and betrayal for the rest of their lives. It would be hard to gain dignity back again as it

The Effect Of Orange Juice On The Germination Of Mung Bean...
Research Title
The title of this research is Determining the effect of orange juice on the germination of mung bean
seeds. This research aimed to find out how would mung bean seeds will germinate if watered by
orange juice.
Objectives
This research aimed to establish the role orange juice plays in the germination process of mung seeds
in terms of germination rate and the length of roots over time.
Introduction:
Minute made orange juice has a pH of 2.80. The acidity will have a negative effect on the germination
of the seeds. Sour conditions decrease the germination rate of seeds. The length of roots in a
germinating seed is reduced by the acidic conditions, which, in its turn, affects the rate of germination
of seeds (Lee 435) .
The seed membrane is permeable to water, which is necessary for a seed to germinate. Hydrolysis of
polysaccharides in seeds to simple sugars for the germination process is crucial. The permeable seed
membrane allows water to enter the seed. For that, Acidic conditions affect the permeability of seed
membrane, thereby, reducing the chances of germination process (Lee 435) .
It has been acknowledged that legume type of plants are more sensitive to acidic conditions (Ahmad
5) . Mung seeds are from legume type of plants, and that explains why their germination is
significantly affected by orange juice acidity.
A number of factors can affect seeds germination. Warmth, catalysts, and inhibitors can affect
germination. Low and high temperatures cannot

We all share it, so there s no need to hide it

It s Time to Legalize Illegal Immigrants
Look at the world around you. Is it anything like it was 100 years ago? How about anything like it was
10 years ago? The world is changing at an alarming place. When this country was first founded, land
west of the Mississippi was considered uncharted territory. It was seen as a whole new world.
Nowadays, there is not a place on the planet that we haven t been to. There are places on other planets
that we have been to. The world has shrunk due to technological advancement. The world is
globalizing. Some call it progress. They say that we are growing as a society and that change in

Often times the very workers that make globalization possible are the ones being mistreated and are
being adversely affected by it. Steps must be taken to fix the moral oversight of globalization.
Specifically I would like to look at the use of illegal immigrants to reduce the wages of workers. I
want to look at the use of unfair competition to put the workers, farm workers in particular, in a very
disadvantaged position. Steps can be taken to make the situation more just for all parties, but it may
take a change in Mexican American border policy.
The idea of globalization causing suffering is not a new idea. In fact, it is accepted throughout the
world. This is because people try to justify it. The common argument is that this is the natural process
for growth in countries. Europe went through period of hardships during the Industrial Revolution, as
did the United States. So when other countries show similar signs, it is seen as a good thing. People
say that the county is developing and in time they will be a powerful country like America or Britain.
A nation can only grow if it goes through certain stages, and those stages are inevitable, so we shouldn
t worry about them. I don t know about you, but I see some pretty big logical holes in this theory.
There are two major problems I see with this train of

How Did Geography And Climate Affect Pennsylvania
Geography and climate impact the economy of a region because they impact what products can be
manufactured and then sold. In a region with fertile soil and warm summers, agriculture will be a very
large business, allowing extra food crops to be sold. Wheat can be ground into flour and made into
bread. Tobacco can be sold to people all over the colony, country, or even all over the world. This is
like the economy of the colony of Pennsylvania. The geography, such as large deposits of iron, large
forests, and good farmland, along with the mild climate, made Pennsylvania well suited for lots of
agriculture and gave it many different products to sell. Therefore, the geography and climate boosted

sales before purchase but also demand a lot of support after they purchase. For example, they may

counties a 24 hour hotline as what it is providing to the urban customers. After all, service could be the
critical buying factor when the rural market is already flooded with low cost products. It also helps
build positive word of mouth which is important in rural area as people like to use what their

  • 2. The Relationship Between Traditional Orthodox Judaism And... Conservative Judaism is a major branch from the Religion of Judaism. The followers of Judaism are monotheistic, meaning that they believe in one god. The focal points of Judaism are the covenants made with God and the Hebrew Bible. There are three principal denominations of Judaism, including Reform, Conservative and Orthodox. Reform Jews are the least conservative, ignoring some jewish law, meanwhile Orthodox Jews uphold the Jewish laws and traditions. Conservative Judaism mediates the position between traditional Orthodox Judaism and the radicalness of Reform Judaism (Nadell and Melton 781). Conservative Judaism is a popular denomination because it resembles Reform in that it espouses a more positive attitude towards modern culture, however it remains committed to the observance of Jewish law and ceremony (Nadell and Melton 781). Although Conservative Judaism is prosperous, it has not always been easy for the Conservative Jewish community. When I visited the Beth Israel synagogue, I became curious about the tradition of Conservative Judaism and decided that I wanted to learn more through research. The movement of Conservative Judaism began in Germany, during the nineteenth century, by a rabbi named, Zechariah Frankel (Geffen 454). There was an issue within the Jewish community on retaining Hebrew as the language of prayer. Frankel called for a more positive historical Judaism (Golinkin and Panitz 171). This idea included a predisposition to accept the positive, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. The Epidemic Of The Obesity Epidemic Essay Introduction The World Health Organization (WHO) defines obesity as the excessive accumulation of fat that puts the person s health at risk (Lenzi et al., 2015). The prevalence of obesity has increased worldwide over the past three decades. According to Holtz (2016), obese people have outnumbered the undernourished, with the World Health Organization estimating that 1.9 billion adults are overweight, out of which about 600 million are obese. Given the recent trends, it is estimated that 1.12 billion people will be obese by 2030 (Grossschädl, 2014). According to a report by the McKinsey Global Institute, 2014), the global impact of the obesity epidemic is estimated to be $20 trillion, or 2.8 percent of the global gross domestic product (GDP), which is on a par with the global impact from terrorism, armed violence, smoking, and warfare. Setting the Context Presently, the toll of the epidemic on healthcare systems alone is between 2 percent and seven percent of net healthcare spending in industrialized economies, excluding the huge costs associated with the treatment of heart disease and type 2 diabetes that account for up to twenty percent of healthcare costs (Bassuk Manson, 2008; Alosco et al., 2015). In addition to the costs to healthcare systems, obesity undermines the productivity of employees, thereby undercutting corporate competitiveness. According to the Australian Bureau of Statistics (2013), during the period between 2011 and 2012, 62.8 percent of Australians ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. Characteristics Of White Collar Criminals White Collar criminals are not typically seen in the same light as regular Street criminals. When we step back and take a look at what the characteristics are of a white collar criminal, we then can see these criminals from a different point of view. The characteristics of a white collar criminal are very different from each individual. The criminals committing these crimes also have to put in more effort into planning and organizing their criminal offenses. Regardless of white collar criminals are not typically seen in the same light as our regular Street criminals, their offenses are just as serious. White collar crimes typically victimized more organizations than they do a single person. These crimes also have large amounts of offenders and can go on for years, versus that of the crimes that street criminals commit. White Collar criminals have shown to be individuals who are typically those who are key team players within their company and choose to take advantage of their company and the company s resources. It has been shown that most white collar criminals are older, white males between the ages of 41 and 50. These offenders were more likely to have jobs, who don t commit as many offenses as typical Street criminals and tend to start their criminal escapades later in their lives. These crimes are also more likely to be on a national or International scope, be committed by larger groups of people, happen in patterns, Target organizations instead of individuals, and ... • 6. The Cores Of Confucianism Introduction From the 6th century to 221 BC, the Spring and Autumn period to the Warring States period, the Ancient China experienced a lengthy chaos. Nonetheless, in such bloody era, the brilliant Chinese philosophers sprang up and started a Golden Age of philosophy. People call this phenomenon as the Contention of a Hundred schools of Thoughts. The philosophers discussed about the best way for a country to survive, for an emperor to rule and for people to live. Those thoughts impacted the lifestyle and social consciousness not only at that time but even in the following thousands of years, especially for the Confucianism which was exclusively adopted in Han dynasty and rule the China for two thousand years. In this essay, I will focus on the Confucianism, discuss the central doctrines. The Cores of Confucianism As we know During the Spring and Autumn period, China s feudal system gradually became significant irrelevant. The emperor of Zhou dynasty had real control over only a small royal demesne centered on their capital Luoyi near modern day Luoyang. During the early part of the Zhou dynasty period, royal relatives and generals had been given control over fiefdoms in an effort to maintain Zhou authority over vast territory. Spencer, 2014 SCC 43, [2014] 2 S.C.R. 212 Facts Mr. Spencer, who lived with his sister, connected to the Internet through an account registered in his sister s name. He used LimeWire, a free peer to peer file sharing program, on his computer to download child pornography from the Internet. Det. Sgt. Darren Parisien of the Saskatoon Police Service, using publicly accessible software, searched for anyone sharing child pornography. He could access whatever another user of the software had in his or her shared folder. He could also obtain two numbers related to a given user: the IP address that matches to the specific Internet connection through which a computer accesses the Internet and the globally unique identifier (GUID) number assigned to each computer using particular software. The IP address of the computer is displayed as part of the file sharing process. Det. Sgt. Parisien created a list of IP addresses for computers that had shared what he believed to be child pornography. He then ran that list of IP addresses against a database which matches IP addresses with approximate locations. He found that one of the IP addresses was suspected to be in Saskatoon, with Shaw as the ISP. Det. Sgt. Parisien then determined that Mr. Spencer s computer was online and connected to LimeWire. He was able to look through the shared folder. He saw an extensive amount of what he believed to be child pornography. What he ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Dramatic Impact On A Jacobean Audience The Dramatic Impact on a Jacobean Audience of Act 1 Scene 5 of Shakespeare s Macbeth In this essay I will be examining how Act 1 Scene 5 of Macbeth would have had a dramatic impact on a Jacobean audience. I will also be exploring how Shakespeare s stagecraft his use of devices such as symbolism, references to contemporary events and imagery would have helped to create this dramatic impact. Macbeth was written to be performed on a stage, by actors, and to an audience. In Jacobean England, drama was considered to be the greatest art form, and was appreciated by many classes of people, from King James downwards, so these audiences would have been large and varied. Though this was the case, these references would also have caught the attention of anyone who saw the play, as witchcraft was an important issue in Jacobean Britain. They are also linked with darkness, unnaturalness and evil, other important themes of the play. Many more beliefs about witchcraft are revealed in the rest of the scene, in Lady Macbeth s soliloquies. . In her first soliloquy she says that I may pour my spirits in thine ear which shows the belief that witches were able to influence people s thoughts. Parts of her second soliloquy in the scene seem to be an incantation or spell. The most important choice should be between believe or action. Action should have more emphasis than belief in a religion. Therefore, Judaism is the perfect religion to accommodate right action due to its orthopraxy nature, due diligence to society, not forcing others to convert, and knowing what each individual is destined to accomplish while incorporating belief; in which it is hard to find the right combination of action and belief in other religions. • 14. Starbucks On Clemson University Campus On Monday, October 17 from one p.m. until two p.m. I observed people s behavior in Starbucks on Clemson University campus. The majority of the population consisted of students most likely ranging from eighteen years old to twenty four years old. This time of day seemed to be particularly busy, and from where I was sitting I observed human behavior as they interacted within the space. The room itself had an ordering area, an area to gather while waiting for your drink, and then multiple seating arrangements, such as booths, high tables, large tables, and small tables. Even with all the furniture the space had little obstructions, making it easy to oversee activity. People s interaction with others depended greatly on whether or not they were with other people. If someone was alone they did not sit at a table that had four or more chairs, instead they would opt for a table that was made for two people. Pairs of people meeting each other at the location hugged, but when saying goodbye, they simply walked away, not stopping to give a farewell. Groups tended to consist of younger students, while individuals were more likely to be older students. While waiting to order their drink groups would talk loudly, but upon sitting each individual would pull out something to occupy them and all talking ceased. The talking amongst others in line gained the attention of people sitting down, especially those that were sitting alone. If a group looked up at people talking in line there ... Deena and Ida, their girls, sat in the grass, vibrating with excitement. Banon lay down between them, basking in the glory of belly rubs, as the dog always did. It seemed impossible that the girls were ten and Banon was almost eleven. Hadn t they come into Percival and Fleur s life only yesterday? A cool afternoon breeze kissed Percival s face, and with that, he gazed at the sparse clouds above and recalled the past. He was almost thirty three, and somehow, the past seemed closer than ever. So much had happened during the past decade. When Deena and Ida turned one, Percival and Gwaine, on a mission in Ismere, had been captured and forced into slavery by Morgana. That was a dark and frightening time for Percival and Gwaine, yet eventually, Merlin and King Arthur rescued them. Percival recalled his homecoming, when Fleur carrying the twins in her arms Rion, and Banon charged from the castle and ran to him, sobbing with joy. Rion all but pulled Percival from his horse, and Percival and his family stood outside in the downpour, reunited and grateful. He had never felt more loved than in that moment. Further, Arthur had managed to negotiate peace with King Odin, and Camelot and Cornwall had not warred in years. Regardless, there had been more dark times. This research aimed to find out how would mung bean seeds will germinate if watered by orange juice. Objectives This research aimed to establish the role orange juice plays in the germination process of mung seeds in terms of germination rate and the length of roots over time. Introduction: Minute made orange juice has a pH of 2.80. The acidity will have a negative effect on the germination of the seeds. Sour conditions decrease the germination rate of seeds. The length of roots in a germinating seed is reduced by the acidic conditions, which, in its turn, affects the rate of germination of seeds (Lee 435) . The seed membrane is permeable to water, which is necessary for a seed to germinate. Hydrolysis of polysaccharides in seeds to simple sugars for the germination process is crucial. The permeable seed membrane allows water to enter the seed. For that, Acidic conditions affect the permeability of seed membrane, thereby, reducing the chances of germination process (Lee 435) . It has been acknowledged that legume type of plants are more sensitive to acidic conditions (Ahmad 5) . When I feel the urge to bite my nails, I will squeeze the stress ball instead. I will replace my nail biting habit with using the stress ball. During the first week, I earned 5 dollars. I slipped up and started to bite my nails during one of my classes. I didn t even realize I was doing it for about 5 minutes. I also slipped up another day while doing homework. I was successful in bringing my stress ball with me to class and work, but did not find myself using it too often. I think I need to make more of an effort to take it out when I am at my desk or in class. After 19 days, I have earned the $14 I need treat myself to a manicure. Although it took me longer than I had hoped for, I am very proud of myself for completing my first goal. Now, I hope to continue with the system and treat myself to another manicure in 2 weeks. Although I would not consider this a complete success, I have certainly improved on biting my nails less than I did before this exercise. 4.
