Essay about Hip Hop
Hip hop is known as a culture movement. Hip hop is a pleasing art form, formed by African
Americans and Latinos in the late seventies. Its formation derives from a young generation of African
Americans in South Bronx, New York. They created a beautiful, complimentary expression of melody,
skill and dance from an environment of poverty. Ever since it has encouraged people from all across
the world. Hip hop is discussed as an art form and not just flowing, it typically is meant to include the
four essentials: DJing, MCing, graffiti writing, and break dancing. Hip Hop helped renew the identity
of these elements. In studying the history of hip hop; it has influences on many cultures. Early hip hop

Hip hop has influences on other type of music also, from blues to rock and roll. The youth of this
generation see hip hop like what the older generation see blues. An essential to hip hop is graffiti
writing. Before hip hop it was used as a political expression for different gangs. Now, many people
use it as a way to bring their words to life. It carries meaning and expression of thoughts and ideas. It
holds feeling and energy. It holds a strength and assortment that not just the artist can see. It carries
independence, motive and inspiration. Not everyone can understand what it beholds. It contains
beauty and grace. Lyrical poets use it to state ideas, no matter the cost of conveying them. Graffiti was
around since existence of human and thousands of years before written languages urbanized. The
natives used their environment as a canvas for expression. Artists use a wall as a canvas. It doesn t
even require a museum to see it; all you have to do is wander about the city to discover the building s
walls. Graffiti artists are the Picassos of hip hop culture. They depict a language, an image, a voice
and a vision. The artist is free. The message can be seen by anyone. You can locate numerous graffiti
writing that is used in slang. Slang is the language of hip hop. The artist Lil Wayne popularize the term
bling bling. Hip hop was only known inside United States previous to the early eighties. Throughout
the decade the lyrics spread to every continent and

Sustainability And Public Health
As a student in the class, Sustainability and Public Health, I have learned to appreciate the benefits
nature has to offer and that everything must be in balance in order to maintain a sustainable society. In
order to connect with and experience nature on a different level our class did a walking mediation
around the bio pond. I have always believed from the time of birth, almost immediately you become
aware of the necessary connection with the outside world by exploring all parts of your new
surroundings. However, as years passed I began to feel this connection weaken and it wasn t until after
the walking meditation when I realized how much nature has a positive impact on my overall well
being. During the walk, I remember feeling at peace

Comparison of Character and Voice
Discuss the ways in which the poets present character and voice in; Medusa and Les Grands Seigneurs
The two poems; Medusa and Les Grands Seigneurs (LGS) have their similarities and differences. The
most obvious being both speakers are women and how they subdue men. However, the most apparent
difference is the way both poets present character, with Medusa and her jealousy and mistrust towards
her partner; ...a doubt, a jealously . The standards of a woman are lowered; she is bitter, vicious and
twisted. Having snakes for hair and revealing the monster she has become, whereas in LGS the
dominance and prowess of the woman is expressed, men desperate for her attention; my hurdy gurdy
monkey men . Almost as if she has the men on ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The use of this here is to symbolise the sexual meaning in butt which carries a double meaning, men
were her support, allowing the voice of the poem to have a joke. Remaining with my buttresses the
use of my is a possessive pronoun, once again reinforcing her superiority. In verse two the bowers is a
reference to a shady or leafy recess where lovers might go, however the courtesan could not marry as
she was out of reach , once again augmenting the semantic field. Continuing with the first stanza LGS
much like Medusa uses pleasant images, albeit they are sexual puns; peacocks and cockatoos . Here
the voice is suggesting men are birds, that they show off their colours (peacocks) or their feathers
stand up (cockatoos). Both poems present voice in the form of a 1st person narrative, allowing the
reader to see the point of view (opinions and thoughts) of the narrator. The poem Medusa calls out
directly to the you , the lover; and here you come . LGS on the other hand speaks out to the men and
their desperation, how they are shallow creatures; men were my dolphins . One thing the poems have
in common is found in the first word of the first verse, LGS uses; men and Medusa uses a suspicion .
The effect of this is that the poems straight into the subject, with Duffy s use of suspicion inferring
that the speaker is paranoid. Looking at the final stanza in LGS the voice has changed from active to
passive, the

The American Media s Influence On The Italian American
The American media has had a substantial influence on the Italian American stereotype, especially that
regarding mobsters. The American cinema has created movies and TV shows such as The Godfather,
Goodfellas, The Sopranos, and more. The media has the power to influence how people think and see
things, including ethnic groups and races. This was seen extensively in the 2016 United States
Presidential election. Hollywood has always had the strength to have ethnic groups be seen in a
positive or negative light. In the twentieth century, the media had a negative portrayal of Italian
Americans that has evolved as time passed. The reason for the views changing with each passing
decade is the fact that foreigners and their future generations became more Americanized. First,
Hollywood and the media had a negative portrayal of Italian Americans compared to other ethnic
groups. In the article Family, Gang, and Ethnicity in Italian themed Hollywood Gangster Films, the
author Silvia Dibeltulo states that in movies where both Italian American and Irish American
gangsters were portrayed, Italian American gangsters were portrayed as more alien whereas their
Italian American counterparts were portrayed as more assimilated . This led to Italians being
negatively associated with the stereotypes from these movies, which led to anxiety across the country.
The article goes on to state more differences between the depictions of Italian American and Irish
American gangs in films. The

What Is The Character Of George Eliot sThe Mill On The Floss
Throughout The Mill on the Floss, George Eliot embodies the struggle between following one s
temperament and containing one s natural tendencies in the character of Maggie Tulliver. As the novel
follows her coming of age, Maggie grows from being an impulsive, dreamy child to a young woman
who struggles with subduing her passions. In containing her personality, Maggie struggles internally;
and this containment further manifests in her hair, one of her most noteworthy features. Unruly in her
childhood, her hair becomes continually contained as Maggie subdues more of her natural personality.
Yet, Maggie s unruly hair, along with her rash persona, returns in the final chapter of the novel.
Ultimately, following this struggle of subduing natural temperament, manifested in the presentation of
Maggie s hair, suggests that quelling one s natural personality is as dangerous as never controlling one
s temperament. In chronicling Maggie s childhood, Eliot highlights the rash and dreamy qualities that
dominate Maggie s personality. Rather than be the neatest little rosebud like her cousin Lucy, Maggie
is more unruly and this leads her maternal aunts to view her with a critical eye, especially in regards to
her unkempt hair (Eliot 58). It is this critique of her hair that spurs Maggie to demonstrate her
impulsive streak as she decides to cut her hair. Once Maggie realizes the haphazardness of her
handiwork, the narrator states, Maggie rushed to her deeds with passionate impulse, and

Similarities Between Cow And Cow
If you have ever cared for an animal you know, it is never as easy as it seems. A good deal of time,
effort, and money go into taking care of pets and/or livestock properly. While sometimes it feels like a
downhill slide, at the end of a long day farmers feel a sense of accomplishment. A good farmer will
give any living animal the best life it can live even though we tend to care for each species differently.
While horses and cows have many similarities when it comes to appearances, they have many
different features that categorize them as equine or bovine.
Cows and horses both live off of grasses that they can forage for. Many farmers feed hay in months
that grass is not as plentiful, as well as supplementing horse and cows with grain types many of which
include oats, corn, and molasses. Farmers either bale their own or search for high quality hay for both
species. During summer months, rotational grazing systems allowing cattle and horses to forage for
their own food with giving pastures the breaks they need to grow the highest nutrient filled grasses
they can achieve. Although cows and horses have similar diets, their digestion ... Show more content

The Theory And Practice Of Orwell s Libertarian Socialism
The Theory and Practice of Orwell s Libertarian Socialism First published in 1949, Orwell certainly
believed that the novel would have some higher purpose in the political sphere, and it did. But perhaps
it wasn t the purpose that was truly intended? Nearly seventy years after its first appearance, 1984 can
be found on many high school, college and political group reading lists. Coining terms such as Big
Brother, or thoughtcrime, the novel created an entirely new type of dystopian society defined by many
as Orwellian. But with close reading one can see that George Orwell wrote 1984 for a very specific
purpose. In 1984 Orwell writes about the dangers of deviating from a true socialist society. In order to
completely understand 1984, one must first understand the history surrounding the novel. Written
from 1947 to December 1948, 1984 first hit shelves in June of 1949. The Second World War, which
ravaged England, Europe, and much of the world, ended a mere four years prior. Along with the rest
of Europe, London was still rebuilding from the constant bombings, and still mourning the incredible
loss of life. But there was a growing threat that could not be ignored. The Soviet Union, in an effort to
prevent future attacks, occupied much of Eastern Europe (known as the Eastern Bloc), including
Eastern Germany, and the eastern portion of Berlin. As the year 1948 came and went, the people of
Europe saw the Berlin Blockade, and the monumental airlift to keep West Berlin

Quantitative Study Of Heat And Enthalpy Changes
PART A
Thermochemistry is the quantitative study of heat and enthalpy changes in chemical reactions.
Enthalpy (H) ... is a measure of the total energy possessed by a substance or group of substances.
(Smith 2006, pp. 289). The change in enthalpy (∆H) of a substance is defined as the heat absorbed or
released during a chemical reaction.
A car motor works by converting petrol, also known as chemical energy, to kinetic energy, therefore
assisting with the movement of a car.
A chemical reaction, known as combustion, occurs in the car motor. A combustion reaction consists of
a hydrocarbon reacting with oxygen (O2) to give the products carbon dioxide (CO2) and water (H2O).
A hydrocarbon is a compound consisting simply of Hydrogen (H2) and Carbon (C), methane (CH4)
and diesel (C12H23) are examples of a hydrocarbon. The chemical equation for a combustion reaction
is as follows: Hydrocarbon + Oxygen  Carbon Dioxide + Water. The combustion reaction of
methane (CH4) is: CH4 (g) + 2O2 (g)  CO2 (g) + 2H2O (l), the combustion reaction of ethane is:
2C2H6 (g) + 7O2 (g)  4 CO2 (g) + 6 H2O (l) and the combustion reaction for butane is 2C4H10 (g)
+13O2 (g)  8CO2 (g) +10H2O (g). If combustion takes place internally, the engine is referred to as
an internal combustion engine. A diesel engine is an example of this. Internal combustion engines
convert the chemical energy in fuel to mechanical energy via an exothermic reaction.
An internal combustion engine, mainly consists of a

sales managers and each salesperson pays for selling expenses out of their salary, this accounts for all
of the personal selling expense.
You learn that all sales promotions were conducted in the retail channel.
Next, you discover that there is a great difference in the number of orders placed by customers in each

this is a reasonable way to trace the costs directly to each segment.

In last month s NFL draft, the Philadelphia Eagles did the complete opposite of what everybody
thought they would do and did not take a running back. Leading up to the draft, many analysts had the
Eagles taking LSU s Derrius Guice in the first round, who ultimately fell to the second round to the
Washington Redskins. After the draft, the Eagles attacked the undrafted free agent market and signed
former Notre Dame running back Josh Adams. Also on that same day, the team announced that they re
signed veteran Darren Sproles to a one year deal. With Sproles back in the fold, the Eagles top three

Demise of the Weimar Republic
The demise of the Weimar Republic did not occur due to one sole reason, but because of a number of
short and long term factors. The economic, political and international pressure placed on the people of
Germany ensured the loathing of the forced governmental rule. The immediate impact of the Great
Depression of 1929, which has been debated and considered by most historians to be the dominant
factor in the downfall of the democratic experiment which subsequently led to continuous political
instability ultimately saw the collapse of the first democratic government of Germany.
Some historians generally blame the fall of the Republic on president von Hindenburg s abuse of
constitutional powers. Historian David Martin states that the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Before the US dollar has been 4.2 marks, by 1920 it was worth 64.8 marks thus German taxation
increased. Anyone with access to even a few pounds became a trillionaires over night. The losers of
the hyperinflation were those with a fixed income, the working class, people living off their savings
and wage earners. By June 1923, the government had lost control of the economy, as strikes swepped
the country as workers protested about the rising unemployment and the failure of their wages to keep
up with the cost of living. In August, the govenment finally fell, with President Ebert called for the
leader of the German people party, Streseman, to form a new party. He formed the great coalition
which brought together left and right wing. In the next six years, German society picked up with the
induction into the League of Nations, the Dawes plan of 1924 which provided foreign loans to
Germany and the Young Plan which saw the reduction in Germany s reparation figure by 95 million.
The downside of Germany s new economic prosperity meant that society was living off borrowed
money and was over dependant on foreign loans and investment. The economic power was
concentrated in the hands of influential industrialists and bankers and employment was still on the
rise. Within these six years, the Weimar republic surprisingly enjoyed a period of relative political
stability.

Esperanza Rising Short Story
Mexican immigrants in the United States faced difficult challenges daily such as discrimination, lower
wages, and hatred. The book Esperanza Rising is by American writer Pam Munoz Ryan. Esperanza is
a Mexican girl at the age of thirteen, and she had to leave her home in Mexico to come to the United
States as an immigrant. She had to leave because of her greedy uncles. Even though Esperanza s life
was full of challenges, as an immigrant the harshest challenges were not knowing how to do daily
chores, having to go work in the sheds to pay mama´s medical bill, and facing discrimination due to
her skin tone. The fact that Esperanza did not know how to do daily chores because she always had
servants, shows her harsh new life as an immigrant. The first challenge Esperanza faced was not
knowing how to sweep the platform. Esperanza had to sweep the platform to lower the rent her family
paid for the house. She did not come from a family that did their chores they always had servants,
therefore she never had to learn how to sweep. She got made fun of by Marta a striker when she tried
to sweep the platform. On page 116 and 117 is states that, ¨In her entire life, Esperanza had never held

Analysis Of Gloria Naylor s Mommy What DoesNigger Mean
Caucasians and the Word Nigger
We have all heard the phrase Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me.
However, depending on how words are used, and the opinions associated with them, they can indeed
be very hurtful. Gloria Naylor writes about this in her article Mommy, What Does Nigger Mean? She
states words themselves are innocuous; it is the consensus that gives them true power (Naylor 481).
She explains that African Americans use of nigger does not in anyway invite Caucasians to use it.
Naylor is accurate when she writes that the word nigger would not be offensive had it not been for the
thoughts, and sometimes, action others associate with it. In Naylor s essay, she recalls the first time
she truly heard the word nigger. Because Naylor came from a southern family and then moved to
Harlem she heard the word countless times. However, she never truly heard it until it came from a
white classmate. Naylor was sitting in her third grade class as the teacher passed back their tests. As
Naylor turned around to pass back a test belonging to the student behind her, she noticed that once
again his score was less than hers. Quickly snatching his paper he called her a nigger, She simply did
not understand what it meant, prompting her to raise and ask the teacher. The teacher proceeded to
scold the young boy for using a bad word. This only confused her more. As the school day ended and
the students went home, she mustered the courage to ask her mother. Naylor ends the article before
she tells us what her mother said. People have words they use with their family that would be hurtful
had they come from outsiders. Gloria Naylor makes a great point when she articulates, So there must
have been dozens of times that the word nigger was spoken in front of me before I reached the third
grade. But I didn t hear it until it was said by a small pair of lips that had already learned it could be a
way to humiliate me (483). Naylor grew up hearing nigger everywhere she went. It was used as a term
of endearment. It was used to describe people with great achievement. Occasionally it was used to
describe a small group in the community who were not great people (481). However,

year old baby back at the farm. Jim becomes instantly disappointed in Antonia, as if he was her father
looking down on her. Even though they are just friends, and Jim is younger than Antonia, it comes to
question why Jim is so critical of Antonia. Where his disappoint is very prominent is after hearing
news of her baby Jim thinks to himself; I tried to shut Antonia out of my mind... but she keep her head
for her business and had got on in the world. (142). The entire paragraph is Jim s thoughts when he
first heard the news of Antonia. He uses the phrase bitterly disappointed to describe his disgust with
what happened to Antonia. Jim s entire narrative is about his Antonia, and now that she has done the
opposite of what he expected of her, his emotions is a jumbled mess. He is angry, and sad, and
resentful of Antonia for allowing this happen because he had such high hopes for her, and put her on a
pedestal. His disappointment becomes so intense he has to shut Antonia out of [his] my mind in order
to regroup. His emotions are too much to bear; he needs to block every thought of her

Implications Of Wildlife In Wildlife
Wildlife
Introduction
Purpose
I would like to briefly summarize why wildlife is important and I m examining this because it s truly
important that we as people recognize that wildlife plays a big role in how we live.
Problem
Nature is losing its wildlife! The loss can be attributed to two main causes. The first cause is human
interaction. Humans are having too much interference in nature. According to the World Wide
Federation (2017), the forests, swamps, plains, and lakes are being destroyed to make room for roads,
pipelines, and industrial development. These areas serve as the natural habitat for our wildlife.
Without a home, these animals are dying off at record numbers and becoming extinct.
According to Morris (2003), Humans are also killing the animals for food and this choice also
destroys the natural habitat. Many humans are making the choice to catch fish faster than the oceans
can restock. When people choose to destroy these animal s homes, it has a negative effect on the food
chain. When one sees the impact of human interaction on the natural habitat, society must realize that
they have a responsibility to do something because our future as a species on this planet is in jeopardy.
Procedures/Methodology
The raw data that was collected was 20 random people. You can find the collection on the next page. I
used the stratified sampling method. The survey question was Do you think wildlife is important? and
people answered either yes or no.

Anti heroes are depicted as villains in fancy costumes, but I believe they are just heroes doing good

vigilantes, more than a villainous hero. That they re admirable people that just use unjustified methods
to save those who need saving. I hope to do this by using the Anti heroes in the films; Batman directed
by Christopher Nolan, James Bond Casino Royal directed by Martin Cambell, Iron Man directed by
Jon Favreau, and Arrow directed and created by D.C. and C.W.

This shows me that Anti heroes tend to put others before themselves. This is because while their label
is Anti hero , it s only a classification which leads you to believe one thing when you could be
believing in their actions when you could be perceiving them as someone who is misread and
misjudged. I think that they are portrayed and evil , because they know the hardships of loss, and want
to prevent it from repeating to those around them. However, the way that these Anti heroes and Bruce
Wayne attempt to prevent this loss are questionable, I believe this is why people tend to second guess
that Anti heroes are real heroes. LINK BACK TO INTRO

Business For The Glory Of God Summary
LaKeisha Y. Jones Liberty University Business for the Glory of God Book Review
Grudem explains that God proved personal ownership by demanding that thou shall not steal (Ex.
20:15). By owning our possessions, we imitate God s sovereignty by exercising sovereignty over a
small portion of the world. By taking care of our personal belongings or improving upon them
(cleaning the pool, or adding a deck to a home) we imitate God who owns a cattle on a thousand hills
(Ps. 50:10).
When reading Business for the Glory of God definitely has a lot to offer; especially only being a book
less than a 100 pages. Dr. Grudem engages the reader and teaches that the Bible teaches concerning
moral of goodness of businesses. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I honestly can say that this book is a wonderful tool for anyone who wants to learn more on how to
serve God by being a professional businessman or businesswoman. The layout of Mr. Grudem s
thoughts is pointing out specific Scriptures that speak to the issues he addresses in his book. It may
seem like a surprise to most believe that some inequality of possessions can be good and very pleasing
to God. But we first must remember that there is no sin or evil in heaven, the Bible preaches that there
are certain rewards in heaven and various kinds of stewardship that God entrusts to different
individuals. We should think of all inequalities of possession as wrong and evil. In the current days
that we live in there are inequalities of gifts and abilities, and there are also evil, oppressive systems in
the world, and because of these things many of God s most righteous people will not be wealthy in
current life. For the individuals that have large resources, they also should trust in God and not his
riches.
The brief chapters are manageable for individuals who live in our fast paced society. The chapters are
full of solid material that can provoke thought and reflection. The author goes over the Ownership
aspect and describes that a business owner is a reflection of how God takes care of the universe. As a
business owner you would think that it actually belongs to you, but in reality we untimely ours. As
individuals you should share the things that you own and to learn to not be

Tear Drop Breast Surgery An ideal shape with an innate look
What is Tear Drop Breast Surgery?
As the name indicates, a teardrop breast implant, also known as a contoured or anatomical breast
implant, is shaped like a teardrop. Teardrop breast implants are filled with a uniquely formulated
highly cohesive gel. The gel is designed to impart a natural look to the breast while providing a
youthful firmness and natural feel. Breasts attain a more gently sloping contour with teardrop breast
implants. Although the upper portion of breasts that have been augmented with teardrop implants are
not as full as breasts that have round implants, teardrop shaped implants often provide greater
projection by volume.

Symptoms And Diagnosis Of Sepsis
With sepsis becoming a growing concern with each passing day, we must develop new ways to
combat it aggressively. With EMS becoming a more advanced, educated, and integral member of the
health care team; there must be an inclusion of them into the early and advanced treatment of sepsis.
According to a research team in the Netherlands 3.3 out of every 100 patients encountered by EMS in
the United States have severe sepsis diagnoses, compared to only 2.3 per 100 for myocardial
infarction and 2.2 per 100 for stroke (Van der Wekken et al., 2016). This is massive considering it is
not considered a time critical diagnosis like myocardial infarction and stroke already are. The Revised
Sepsis Syndrome Classification and Prehospital Sepsis Alert Score are the potential solution to these
issues and look to increase rapid recognition, advanced treatment, and decrease mortality from this
destructive and aggressive pathological process.

This shows us that, the administrative authorities practice or perform functions of legislature and
judiciary: this is so because of the impossibility in having rigid form of separation of powers due to
complexity of modern conditions. Generally, for administrative authority or executive to function
well, it needs legislative powers in order to make rules on how to enforce law and also judicial powers
to decide on their own merits. That is why the delegation of quasi legislative and quasi judicial
functions to a number of administrative authorities and tribunals has become unavoidable. 1. Useful of

Romeo And Juliet Analysis
Romeo and Juliet is a tragedy written by William Shakespeare early in his career about two young star
crossed lovers whose deaths ultimately reconcile their feuding families. Arguably one of his most
recognisable plays, it has been performed and adapted thousands of times into films, theatre, and
music, and continues to have a major impact on society today. As the play gets older, it is still being
performed to modern audiences but is this play gradually becoming aged and irrelevant to the modern
audience? Will it need translation into contemporary English to remain relevant? Through the theme
of fate and exploring the work of the modernised film of Baz Luhrmann, we can conclude whether the
traditional Romeo and Juliet will need a translation into modern English. Baz Luhrmann is the director
of the modernised film Romeo and Juliet written by Shakespeare in the 1700s. Baz Luhrmann s film
interpretation of Romeo and Juliet, uses the same old English that Shakespeare s text is written in, his
first scene could not be more different than the traditional opening to Romeo and Juliet. The Baz
Luhrmann Version of Shakespeare s Romeo and Juliet has a different setting compared to that of the
play. The director had decided to modernise the whole play. By modernising the play, changes to the
weapons they used, their method of transportation and their homes, were made. Instead of using
swords in the play, they used guns in the movie. Instead of walking, they travelled by car and

Explain The Five Stages Of A Helping Relationship
There are five stages of a helping relationship. First stage of a helping relationship is rapport and trust
building. During the beginning of this stage, clients are concern about the level of trust they have for
the helper, and the helper is concern about the legal side of the service. (Neukrug, 2013, pg. 116). For
an example, the helper have to give a disclosure statement that discusses limits, legal issues, fees, and
purpose of the interview. The client must give the helper an informed consent this shows that the client
receive the disclosure statement, understand it, and agree with it. (Neukrug, 2013, pg. 116). This stage
is about establishing the foundation of the relationship through empathy, good social skills, and
listening. (Neukrug, 2013, pg. 116). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
During this stage, both the client and the helper assess the problems and work together. In the process,
the helper asks series of questions to identify the issues, and explore other issues that might arise.
(Neukrug, 2013, pg. 117). The reasons for the questions is to stay focus on the real issues.
Third stage of the helping relationship is deepening understanding and goal setting. Besides basic
helping skills, one would add skills to deepen the relationship with client. (Neukrug, 2013, pg. 117). In
this stage, the client is allowing the helper to see their true self. When the true self is reveal, the client
is more honest when it comes to questions. The helper can t rush this process, or the client will pull
back on the relationship. (Neukrug, 2013, pg. 117).
The fourth stage is work. Fourth stage consist of working on the issues that were identify and agreed
on. (Neukrug, 2013, pg. 116). The helper will use different skills to help the client to tackle the
problem. The clients takes responsibility on their identify issues and building themselves up to

5 Critical Factor Analysis
5.1 Critical Factors of Marriott s Global Success
5.1.1 High Brand Recognition
Marriott is well known for its strong brand portfolio in all the major markets around the world,
through its luxury brand like Marriott Hotels Resorts, and mid priced brands like Courtyard. As global
communication increases, these highly recognized brands are definitely the first choice for many
businessmen and travellers, for their global reputation and guaranteed quality.
5.1.2 Technical Factor
Marriott adopts a series of technical programs to support its customer service. One of them is Marriott
s Automated Reservation System for Hotel Accommodations (MARSH), which include a database of
all its customers around the world.2 When a guest enters the Marriott in New York, the system
recognizes that she stayed in Courtyard Tokyo last month and then she would receive a personalized
service. This way Marriott can provide a better customer service through information technology,
which is better than its competitors.
5.1.3 Economy Factor
The hotel industry is highly dependent on the economic scenarios. In the past few years, the fast
developing economy in Asia had strong positive influence on Marriott s globalization. The Asia

The Calling Of St. Matthew By Caravaggio
The Calling of St. Matthew, is a painting created in 1600, by Caravaggio. It was created using oil
paints measuring 127 inches by 130 inches. The painting can be found today in the Contarelli Chapel
in the french church San Luigi dei Francesi in Rome. It is located in the chapel with two other
paintings by Caravaggio, all about St. Matthew. The painting is telling a story from the Gospel of
Matthew. It shows the moment that Jesus tells Matthew to follow him and become one of his apostles.
The main characters in this painting are Matthew, Jesus, and Peter. There are five young men seated
counting money. They are all armed and dressed in fancy clothes. The room they are in almost looks
like an old tavern. Images do not usually show Jesus in this particular kind of setting. ... Show more

It represents the sacrifice Jesus is going to make for the people. Caravaggio s hand placement for
Jesus is very similar to Michelangelo s hand in his The Creation of Adam painting. This could have
been done intentional. Michelangelo painted God as he awakens Adam and now Caravaggio has
painted Jesus reaching out to Matthew as he is recreating his life. It is hard to tell exactly who Jesus is
pointing at since there are five men seated in front of him. However, the intensity of the light,
probably from a door that was opened, takes the viewers eyes right to the bearded mans hand which he
is pointing at himself in shock. Matthew is surprised that Jesus would pick someone like him.
Caravaggio is showing his audience that even if you believe you are not holy enough, everyone is able
to follow Christ. He gives his audience the ability to relate to St. Matthew. This tells us that he is
Matthew. At this moment, Matthew has to decide if he wants to stay and continue to be a tax collector,
or follow Jesus. The coin on top of his hat and his hand reaching out to a coin, symbolizes that money
is a huge part of him, if he went with Jesus he would be giving

My Love For Music Education
Ever since my years in elementary school, I have had a love for music. This love developed in middle
school where the notion of teaching music came to me. In high school, I knew the profession that was

During my time at Shepherd University, I excelled in music theory and aural skills. I received many

My Singing Journey
A friend from my childhood once told me dream on, and sing louder . This friend pushed this saying
deep into my heart until it made it seem as if it kept my heart beating. I never really began to
understand what she meant when she repeated this saying to me until she explained it. She said to me
that to dream on is to not give up, and to sing louder is to not let anyone take my voice away from me.
Singing has always been a huge part in my life from singing in talent shows to singing in the shower.
My mother said that I never stopped singing. The journey of my singing began with my first School of
Rock program and is now being pursued on my churches worship team today. Before I start to tell you
about my singing journey, I feel as if I should explain why I started to sing in the first place. It all
began when I was four years old, my older sister Kassidy would always, and I mean always, be
listening to music in her room and singing. As we grew up she learned how to play the guitar and how
to write songs. She inspired me to sing and I couldn t thank her enough for it. When my sister was 12
years old she started to get involved in this program named School of Rock. When she would sing on
that stage I constantly wished that I was her. I could not wait until I was in the 7th grade so that I
could be a part of it as well.

Essay Oceanography
If you have ever lived in proximity to coastal areas you may have seen coastline erosion first hand.
The beaches you frequent during the summer may seem to be getting smaller and smaller every year.
Why does your favorite beach seem to be disappearing? Coastal erosion is to blame. The waves, wind,
tides and currents all play a part in the mechanism that is coastal erosion. When water and wind batter
the shoreline sediments are carried out to sea and deposited on the sea floor or at other points along
the coastline. This is called an erosional coastline. This erosion may be very apparent or seem to have
happened overnight when it happens due to a large storm or extremely high tide.

(Chambers, 2007) At this point the headland becomes a sea arch. As time passes water erodes at the
base of the sea arch and wind and freezing water create a hydraulic effect in the cracks on the arch

tidal and wind action the sea stack eventually wears down to a smaller version of what it was
originally, it is now known as a sea stump. The next illustration depicts the processes that encompass
the creation of a sea arch through erosion to a sea stump. (Chambers, 2007)
Wave cut platforms are another feature of an erosional coastline. Along coastlines with cliff edges that
sit about the shore these features are apparent they look like gently sloping areas of landnear the shore
just above sea level. (Chambers, 2007) These benches and marine terraces are the product of wave
action eroding the rock at the base of the cliff until the cliff cannot support itself on its new foundation
and crumbles into the sea. Over time the collapsed land will have much of the smaller debris eroded
away and much of the remaining rock or earth will be somewhat smoothed over to create a gentle
slope to the water. (Chambers, 2007)

Morality And Ethical Behaviour Within The Human Population
Morality and ethical behaviour within the human population is vital in order to conceive a healthy
society. Although throughout history, morals and ethics have been used interchangeably, they are in
fact not one in the same. Morality is within oneself and develops over a period of time as a result of
meeting and resolving moral issues as they come forth, whereas ethics is essentially a moral compass,
or a set of rules one follows throughout the course of their life (Crebert, Patrick, Cragnolini, 2004).
From a personal perspective, I believe each individual has several distinguishing moral codes they live
by, even if they may not distinctly know it. I personally have several moral foundations that I live by,

The Volkswagen scandal has caused, and will further cause, many consequences affecting major

Effects Of Caffeine On The Body Metabolism
Caffeine is one of the most prevalent drugs consumed around the world, and is frequently used by
athletes in efforts to enhance their performance. It is defined by the Medical Dictionary as A bitter
white alkaloid, C8H10N4O2 that stimulates the central nervous system and body metabolism (2010).
Some believe that increasing their caffeine intake will then improve their energy and endurance levels
during long term sporting events such as running, biking, or swimming. Caffeine is found in an
assortment of foods and drinks including but not limited to coffee, tea, cokes and cola products,
chocolate and energy drinks. Caffeine can also be found in some over the counter medications.
In a recent research study produced by the Kinesiology Department of Delaware University, the
following findings were presented: that caffeine is a vasoconstrictor and stimulant; caffeine can
increase blood pressure by contracting the heart and blood vessels in non habitual users; caffeine
changes the electro physiological activity of the heart, increasing conductivity, even in limited doses
(University of Delaware). In regards to the gastrointestinal side effects, the UD study wrote that
caffeine stimulates gastric secretion, stating that some individuals are sensitive to caffeine and suffer
ill effects such as acid indigestion, heartburn, abdominal pain, gas or constipation to varying degrees.
In addition, caffeine inhibits vasopressin, and it acts as a powerful diuretic. Liver metabolism is

Communication and Conflict
In today s workforce communication and conflict resolution are paramount to a successful
organization. As with any leadership trait, these skills must be developed and regularly practiced by
leaders. There are many skills involved in both the communication process as well as with conflict
resolution. According to Schermerhorn, the communication process is a simple process of sending and
receiving messages with attached meaning (2005). The process is further defined by having three
elements, those being a source, a receiver and in some instances feedback. Conflict resolution
according to the text, is a situation in which the underlying reasons for a given destructive conflict are
eliminated (Schermerhorn, et al, 2005). We will take a look ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

3. Use conflict to improve how you react to a situation. (Cox, 2005). Even though conflict is not
always negative, there should still be effective steps in place to manage and resolve the conflict. There
are many lessons that can be learned during the process of conflict resolution.
There are several types of conflict resolution available, with each style being appropriate for different
situations. The five types of conflict resolutions mentioned in

Personal Characteristics Of A Guardian
According to the Keirsey Temperament Sorter my personality type is that of a Guardian, the
cornerstone of society. The general core characteristics of a Guardian include loyalty, dependability,
helpfulness, strong work ethic and great citizenship. They are even tempered and are great at
managing things from the ground, up. Guardians are helpers who are not afraid to use all of their
talents for the greater good. I was happy to note that we are also loyal mates, responsible parents and
stable leaders. While most of these characteristics, I feel, accurately describe my personality a few are
a little off. Some of the traits I identify with include, loyalty, hard working, talented and stable
leadership. Throughout my 10 years in the nonprofit ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I enjoy trying new things and am not afraid to be the example. In alignment with the survey, I have a
lot of fun with my friends and coworkers but I take my duties and responsibilities very seriously.
Sometimes after work we have training, I brief my staff and set expectations for their behavior. When
dealing with such a young demographic, it is very important to set standards. I recall attending a
training with my staff after an especially long day. Granted, the training was boring due to content and
a dull facilitator in a warm room, but I was shocked by the behavior of the staff in the meeting. Staff
would openly talk and obnoxiously eat crunchy food and be blatantly disrespectful. During our break I
pulled eight staff outside to discuss their actions. It was amazing to me that they were clueless to how
unprofessional they were. Their supervisors had not set expectations which lead to the staff
embarrassing the entire company. In my workplace I enjoy creating harmony and meaningful
relationships in all aspects;parents, students, staff and faculty. I recently was assigned a staff who
needed a fresh start, a school where none of the parents or staff knew him. This was because he was
transitioning from female to male, talk about modern issues in the workplace. Besides having a huge

  • 2. Essay about Hip Hop Hip hop is known as a culture movement. Hip hop is a pleasing art form, formed by African Americans and Latinos in the late seventies. Its formation derives from a young generation of African Americans in South Bronx, New York. They created a beautiful, complimentary expression of melody, skill and dance from an environment of poverty. Ever since it has encouraged people from all across the world. Hip hop is discussed as an art form and not just flowing, it typically is meant to include the four essentials: DJing, MCing, graffiti writing, and break dancing. Hip Hop helped renew the identity of these elements. In studying the history of hip hop; it has influences on many cultures. Early hip hop was credited to help inner city gang ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Hip hop has influences on other type of music also, from blues to rock and roll. The youth of this generation see hip hop like what the older generation see blues. An essential to hip hop is graffiti writing. Before hip hop it was used as a political expression for different gangs. Now, many people use it as a way to bring their words to life. It carries meaning and expression of thoughts and ideas. It holds feeling and energy. It holds a strength and assortment that not just the artist can see. It carries independence, motive and inspiration. Not everyone can understand what it beholds. It contains beauty and grace. Lyrical poets use it to state ideas, no matter the cost of conveying them. Comparison of Character and Voice Discuss the ways in which the poets present character and voice in; Medusa and Les Grands Seigneurs The two poems; Medusa and Les Grands Seigneurs (LGS) have their similarities and differences. The most obvious being both speakers are women and how they subdue men. However, the most apparent difference is the way both poets present character, with Medusa and her jealousy and mistrust towards her partner; ...a doubt, a jealously . The standards of a woman are lowered; she is bitter, vicious and twisted. In verse two the bowers is a reference to a shady or leafy recess where lovers might go, however the courtesan could not marry as she was out of reach , once again augmenting the semantic field. Continuing with the first stanza LGS much like Medusa uses pleasant images, albeit they are sexual puns; peacocks and cockatoos . Here the voice is suggesting men are birds, that they show off their colours (peacocks) or their feathers stand up (cockatoos). Both poems present voice in the form of a 1st person narrative, allowing the reader to see the point of view (opinions and thoughts) of the narrator. The poem Medusa calls out directly to the you , the lover; and here you come . LGS on the other hand speaks out to the men and their desperation, how they are shallow creatures; men were my dolphins . One thing the poems have in common is found in the first word of the first verse, LGS uses; men and Medusa uses a suspicion . • 5. The American Media s Influence On The Italian American The American media has had a substantial influence on the Italian American stereotype, especially that regarding mobsters. The American cinema has created movies and TV shows such as The Godfather, Goodfellas, The Sopranos, and more. The media has the power to influence how people think and see things, including ethnic groups and races. This was seen extensively in the 2016 United States Presidential election. Hollywood has always had the strength to have ethnic groups be seen in a positive or negative light. In the twentieth century, the media had a negative portrayal of Italian Americans that has evolved as time passed. The reason for the views changing with each passing decade is the fact that foreigners and their future generations became more Americanized. First, Hollywood and the media had a negative portrayal of Italian Americans compared to other ethnic groups. In the article Family, Gang, and Ethnicity in Italian themed Hollywood Gangster Films, the author Silvia Dibeltulo states that in movies where both Italian American and Irish American gangsters were portrayed, Italian American gangsters were portrayed as more alien whereas their Italian American counterparts were portrayed as more assimilated . This led to Italians being negatively associated with the stereotypes from these movies, which led to anxiety across the country. The article goes on to state more differences between the depictions of Italian American and Irish American gangs in films. The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. What Is The Character Of George Eliot sThe Mill On The Floss Throughout The Mill on the Floss, George Eliot embodies the struggle between following one s temperament and containing one s natural tendencies in the character of Maggie Tulliver. As the novel follows her coming of age, Maggie grows from being an impulsive, dreamy child to a young woman who struggles with subduing her passions. In containing her personality, Maggie struggles internally; and this containment further manifests in her hair, one of her most noteworthy features. Unruly in her childhood, her hair becomes continually contained as Maggie subdues more of her natural personality. Yet, Maggie s unruly hair, along with her rash persona, returns in the final chapter of the novel. Ultimately, following this struggle of subduing natural temperament, manifested in the presentation of Maggie s hair, suggests that quelling one s natural personality is as dangerous as never controlling one s temperament. In chronicling Maggie s childhood, Eliot highlights the rash and dreamy qualities that dominate Maggie s personality. Rather than be the neatest little rosebud like her cousin Lucy, Maggie is more unruly and this leads her maternal aunts to view her with a critical eye, especially in regards to her unkempt hair (Eliot 58). It is this critique of her hair that spurs Maggie to demonstrate her impulsive streak as she decides to cut her hair. Once Maggie realizes the haphazardness of her handiwork, the narrator states, Maggie rushed to her deeds with passionate impulse, and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Theory And Practice Of Orwell s Libertarian Socialism The Theory and Practice of Orwell s Libertarian Socialism First published in 1949, Orwell certainly believed that the novel would have some higher purpose in the political sphere, and it did. But perhaps it wasn t the purpose that was truly intended? Nearly seventy years after its first appearance, 1984 can be found on many high school, college and political group reading lists. Coining terms such as Big Brother, or thoughtcrime, the novel created an entirely new type of dystopian society defined by many as Orwellian. But with close reading one can see that George Orwell wrote 1984 for a very specific purpose. In 1984 Orwell writes about the dangers of deviating from a true socialist society. In order to completely understand 1984, one must first understand the history surrounding the novel. Written from 1947 to December 1948, 1984 first hit shelves in June of 1949. The Second World War, which ravaged England, Europe, and much of the world, ended a mere four years prior. Along with the rest of Europe, London was still rebuilding from the constant bombings, and still mourning the incredible loss of life. But there was a growing threat that could not be ignored. The Soviet Union, in an effort to prevent future attacks, occupied much of Eastern Europe (known as the Eastern Bloc), including Eastern Germany, and the eastern portion of Berlin. A chemical reaction, known as combustion, occurs in the car motor. A combustion reaction consists of a hydrocarbon reacting with oxygen (O2) to give the products carbon dioxide (CO2) and water (H2O). A hydrocarbon is a compound consisting simply of Hydrogen (H2) and Carbon (C), methane (CH4) and diesel (C12H23) are examples of a hydrocarbon. The chemical equation for a combustion reaction is as follows: Hydrocarbon + Oxygen  Carbon Dioxide + Water. The combustion reaction of methane (CH4) is: CH4 (g) + 2O2 (g)  CO2 (g) + 2H2O (l), the combustion reaction of ethane is: 2C2H6 (g) + 7O2 (g)  4 CO2 (g) + 6 H2O (l) and the combustion reaction for butane is 2C4H10 (g) +13O2 (g)  8CO2 (g) +10H2O (g). However, depending on how words are used, and the opinions associated with them, they can indeed be very hurtful. Gloria Naylor writes about this in her article Mommy, What Does Nigger Mean? She states words themselves are innocuous; it is the consensus that gives them true power (Naylor 481). She explains that African Americans use of nigger does not in anyway invite Caucasians to use it. Naylor is accurate when she writes that the word nigger would not be offensive had it not been for the thoughts, and sometimes, action others associate with it. In Naylor s essay, she recalls the first time she truly heard the word nigger. Because Naylor came from a southern family and then moved to Harlem she heard the word countless times. However, she never truly heard it until it came from a white classmate. Naylor was sitting in her third grade class as the teacher passed back their tests. As Naylor turned around to pass back a test belonging to the student behind her, she noticed that once again his score was less than hers. Quickly snatching his paper he called her a nigger, She simply did not understand what it meant, prompting her to raise and ask the teacher. The teacher proceeded to scold the young boy for using a bad word. This only confused her more. As the school day ended and the students went home, she mustered the courage to ask her mother. Naylor ends the article before she tells us what her mother said. People have words they use with their family that would be hurtful had they come from outsiders. Gloria Naylor makes a great point when she articulates, So there must have been dozens of times that the word nigger was spoken in front of me before I reached the third grade. But I didn t hear it until it was said by a small pair of lips that had already learned it could be a way to humiliate me (483). Naylor grew up hearing nigger everywhere she went. • 23. Implications Of Wildlife In Wildlife Wildlife Introduction Purpose I would like to briefly summarize why wildlife is important and I m examining this because it s truly important that we as people recognize that wildlife plays a big role in how we live. Problem Nature is losing its wildlife! The loss can be attributed to two main causes. The first cause is human interaction. Humans are having too much interference in nature. According to the World Wide Federation (2017), the forests, swamps, plains, and lakes are being destroyed to make room for roads, pipelines, and industrial development. These areas serve as the natural habitat for our wildlife. Without a home, these animals are dying off at record numbers and becoming extinct. According to Morris (2003), Humans are also killing the animals for food and this choice also destroys the natural habitat. Many humans are making the choice to catch fish faster than the oceans can restock. When people choose to destroy these animal s homes, it has a negative effect on the food chain. When one sees the impact of human interaction on the natural habitat, society must realize that they have a responsibility to do something because our future as a species on this planet is in jeopardy. The layout of Mr. Grudem s thoughts is pointing out specific Scriptures that speak to the issues he addresses in his book. It may seem like a surprise to most believe that some inequality of possessions can be good and very pleasing to God. But we first must remember that there is no sin or evil in heaven, the Bible preaches that there are certain rewards in heaven and various kinds of stewardship that God entrusts to different individuals. We should think of all inequalities of possession as wrong and evil. In the current days that we live in there are inequalities of gifts and abilities, and there are also evil, oppressive systems in the world, and because of these things many of God s most righteous people will not be wealthy in current life. For the individuals that have large resources, they also should trust in God and not his riches. The brief chapters are manageable for individuals who live in our fast paced society. The chapters are full of solid material that can provoke thought and reflection. The author goes over the Ownership aspect and describes that a business owner is a reflection of how God takes care of the universe. Romeo And Juliet Analysis Romeo and Juliet is a tragedy written by William Shakespeare early in his career about two young star crossed lovers whose deaths ultimately reconcile their feuding families. Arguably one of his most recognisable plays, it has been performed and adapted thousands of times into films, theatre, and music, and continues to have a major impact on society today. As the play gets older, it is still being performed to modern audiences but is this play gradually becoming aged and irrelevant to the modern audience? Will it need translation into contemporary English to remain relevant? Through the theme of fate and exploring the work of the modernised film of Baz Luhrmann, we can conclude whether the traditional Romeo and Juliet will need a translation into modern English. Baz Luhrmann is the director of the modernised film Romeo and Juliet written by Shakespeare in the 1700s. Baz Luhrmann s film interpretation of Romeo and Juliet, uses the same old English that Shakespeare s text is written in, his first scene could not be more different than the traditional opening to Romeo and Juliet. The Baz Luhrmann Version of Shakespeare s Romeo and Juliet has a different setting compared to that of the play. The director had decided to modernise the whole play. The beaches you frequent during the summer may seem to be getting smaller and smaller every year. Why does your favorite beach seem to be disappearing? Coastal erosion is to blame.
