The last armed conflict in the western hemisphere is coming to an end bringing hope of a
peaceful and better world to all of us. This was the message President Santos of Colombia
delivered to the general assembly of the United Nations in 2014. The ongoing peace process sits
down the government and the FARC with the objective of ending hostilities and negotiating a
social reform. The FARC guerrilla was founded almost 50 years ago in a small town south of
Colombia where the villagers were tired of the government s inequality and bad treatments. After

Have you ever been in a life threatening situation where you re so anxious where clear thinking
is necessary. What if water filled up your helmet and you were drowning in space? On July 16
and Italian astronaut named Luca Parmitano felt water in his helmet that quickly increased
making it almost impossible to breath. He had just made it back to ISIS before he drowned.
Luca wrote EVA 23 a narrative describing the deathly conflict in 1st person point of view. An
article called The Huffington Post explained Lucas situation threw view of other people in 3rd

Throughout this experiment we have learned a great deal more about electricity and how it is
created. Before this was performed research was done on our materials and their functions, hoping
to be more educated on how they would help us solve our problem. We were able to make a well
educated hypothesis from our newly found information. Our prediction was that the lime would
have the most voltage because in our research we found that it has the most citric acid in it. Citric
acid is modeling the chemical energy in a battery causing the most voltage. The independent
variable applied was the type of fruit tested while the dependent variable was the voltage measured
in the multimeter. Some of the controls kept consistent were the types of nails, the type of
multimeter, the DCV setting on the multimeter, the nail placement, and the wire placement. Our
hopes for the outcome of this experiment is to have successfully created three fruit batteries and for
us to compare their voltages.
Materials and Methods For the experiment gather a lime, an orange, an apple, a zinc nail and a
copper nail to model the essential parts of a battery. The zinc nail represents the negative charge

The film Monty Python and the Holy Grail is a parody of Arthurian stories. It is a film that is not
very elaborate on special effects, costumes and such as it even includes invisible horses with
coconuts to mimic the sound of the galloping horses. All which indicate the low budget set on the
production of the film. Although, the quality of the film does not suffer with it s low budget since
this adds uniqueness and more comical pieces to the film. The concepts triggered in the film come
from elements of the Arthurian legends. The elements are concepts related to the education, health
of the time, code of chivalry, divine rights, Christianity and social division.
The film opens with a scene where King Arthur is discussing with his guard the use of coconuts
for the sound of the horses. This leads to an argument of how the coconuts arrived to England
since they come from a tropical zone. The guard and King Arthur decide to make up reasons and
come to an elaborate yet very confusing answer that in reality does not clear the dilemma. This
scene can be related to the education of the medieval times, which was very low and explanations
came from sumptuous fabrications. In addition, many of the Arthurian legends have details that are
somewhat unfit or unrealistic and portray that believe of what is not possible. One example of this
is the battle with the Green Knight whom was decapitated and still continued to live. This can also
be connected to the unrealistic scene in the film

No Secret That Our Educational System Has Flaws
It s no secret that our educational system has flaws, and that policymakers are often deeply
divided over how to address those flaws. One of the more divisive issues in education today is the
creation and implementation of a national set of educational standards, particularly in the subjects
of mathematics, science and English. Some people believe that creating a national curriculum and
applying it in all schools across the nation will help to improve our educational system; others
believe that the argument over national standards is merely distracting from the real problems, and
that a common set of standards will not solve any of those issues. I am personally in favor of
creating a nation wide standard for education, although I acknowledge that the process of designing
and carrying out these changes will present numerous challenges for those to whom the job falls.
Still, I believe that a national curriculum would be a step in the right direction. As it stands, states
across the country have wildly differing criterion for what their students should be learning and
when they should be learning it. Two students, in the same grade, in different schools can be
learning completely different things in their classes. This creates problems for parents, students,
and teachers in our schools on a number of levels.

It was mid October in Rosewood. The adults were working at their jobs and most of the children
were attending school at the Palm Valley School District. It was a pretty normal life here for James
Miles, who was currently attending eighth grade at Palm Valley Middle School. He had a few
