The Periodic Table Of Elements
Throughout history the periodic table of elements has been influenced and amended by multiple
scientists. These scientists include Johann Dobereiner, A.E Beguyer de Chancourtois, John Newlands,
and Glenn Seaborg. As well as Dmitri Ivanovich Mendeleev and Lothar Meyer the creators of the
periodic table. There are many ways that the periodic table of elements was set out. For example the
table can be organized using patterns between atomic numbers, electronegativity, ionization energy,
structure (gas or solid) valence electrons and electron configuration (shells) as seen in the modern day
periodic table. Before history was recorded humans had knowledge of certain elements including gold
(Au), copper (Cu), silver (Ag), mercury (Hg), tin (Sn) and lead (Pb). Nevertheless, it wasn t until the
year of 1669 that Hennig Brand discovered the very first element Phosphorous (P) through scientific
inquiry. Hennig Brand discovered phosphorous through extracting it from urine. Due to the element
having the ability to grow in the dark it was referred to as light bearer . In 1980 English chemist
Robert Boyle discovered phosphorous independently, following Hennig Brand keeping the process of
his discovery secret. Additionally, Johann Dobereiner began grouping elements with like properties
into triads groups of 3 elements between 1817 and 1829. His work began in 1817 after he noticed that
the atomic weight of Strontium (Sr) was medially between the atomic weights of calcium and

Lab Report Diffusion
In our first unit of honors chemistry, we learned many different concepts through the application or the
completing of experiments. This way we were able to witness different things and create our own
conclusions about our three different labs. After each lab, we critical thought about what we observed
and what these observations meant. In this way, we were truly able to learn and understand the
purposes of the labs and other concepts that were expressed in each lab. Some of the concepts that we
learned included the difference between an observation and an inference, what does diffusion do, what
is the difference between a physical change and a chemical change, and how does energy affect a
reaction. These many different concepts came up many ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A chemical change is an irreversible reaction that involves the changing of the substances chemical
properties and results in the creation of a new substance. A physical change is a change that affects the
physical aspects or form of the substance, but not tis chemical properties. This type of reaction can be
reversed and a completely new substance is not formed. So, to know if a chemical change has taken
place the many thing to look for is if a new substance is created from the reaction. Experiments can be
tested to make sure that no form of a chemical change has taken place if a person is unsure about
whether a reaction is physical or chemical. One way that a person could test to make sure the reaction
was not a chemical one is to simply see if a product has been produced. If there was a substance
created from the reactants coming in contact with each other, then the change was a chemical one.
Then, if you are unsure of if a product was created, then you could view the molecules of the reactants
under an electron microscope to see if they changed from their original form and their chemical
properties. Finally, if you are still completely unsure of if the reaction was chemical, then you could
go through a series of ways that may undo the reaction because if the change can be reversed then it is
a physical change. So, when applying these ways that can confirm that there is no

The Symbolism Of The Civil Rights Movement In The Black...
From Colin Kaepernick standing his ground to peaceful protests and marches in Ferguson, the Black
Lives Matter group is united and the movement is alive. A closed fist held in the air symbolizes black
power, equality for African Americans, and justice for cops killing unprovoked. The salute dates back
to ancient Assyria as a symbol of resistance in the face of violence. (Factbox). The early 1960 s was
when the first call for Black Power was raised. This was the time where new civil rights laws were
passed and there was an urge for racial justice. In today s society black america is still calling for some
kind of power or equality. In the 1960s 70s the raised fist was used by black nationalists to raise
support and awareness for black america. Awareness for the unity of blacks. Two men in the 1968
Olympics said They were for those individuals that were lynched, or killed that no one said a prayer
for, that were hung and tarred. It was for those thrown off the side of the boats in the middle passage.
(Factbox) after raising a fist during the national anthem. As a sign of sympathy and unity the iconic
symbol is still used around the world today. African Americans struggle everyday for equality. Urging
for justice and fair trials, they peacefully protest and march to stand up for their rights. Most
Americans say, as a country, we have yet to achieve racial equality. Roughly six in ten (61%) say that
our country needs to continue making changes for blacks to have

Mechanical Valve Induced Lung Injury
During mechanical ventilation, patients are at risk of injuries to their lungs caused by improper
settings on ventilators. Mechanical ventilator induced lung injury (VILI) can affect the lung in several
ways. Some of the ways the lung become affected is by excessive pressure, excessive volume, and not
enough volume. When the lungs are affected by excessive pressure its termed pulmonary barotrauma.
On the other hand, if the lungs receive too much volume it s called volutrauma. However, when the
lungs don t receive enough volume its termed atelectrauma. This paper describes how pulmonary
barotrauma, pulmonary volutrauma, and pulmonary atelectrauma affects the lungs during mechanical
ventilation and ways to prevent them from happening. The first ventilator induced lung injury that I
want to discuss is pulmonary barotrauma. Pulmonary barotrauma is a lung complication caused by too
much positive pressure forced into the lungs by a mechanical ventilator. Pulmonary barotrauma occurs
when the alveolar begins to rupture due to elevated transalveolar pressure. Transalveolar pressure is a
function of both the tidal volume and the overall compliance of the lungs. Researchers use plateau
pressures to get an estimation of transalveolar pressure. Plateau pressures can be used as a tool to help
measure for the risk of pulmonary barotrauma. Researchers have discovered that plateau pressures less
than 30 cmH2O have shown to reduce the cause of pulmonary barotrauma. Guy W. Soo wrote

The Factors Influencing California Teacher Credentialing
Rena Bonifay
September 13, 2015
Research Paper Topic Proposal
From the time California was admitted to the Union through today, the requirements for formal
educators have continuously evolved. Multiple factors have influenced these changes. The economy,
changes in immigrant communities, as well as scientific research on social emotional, physical and
cognitive development of students. Changes in teaching style trends have also been influenced by the
same factors. The success of the education system in California continues to be dependent on the
willingness to meet the changing needs of its population. In order for the state government to insure
that educators are up to the challenge, the factors influencing California teacher ... Show more content

In addition to gaining insight on the evolution of the education system in California, I am looking
forward to learning about today s trends in teaching as well as predictions for the direction we are
headed for the future. With the help of research, I hope to find the specific factors the state use to
determine best practices. Do best practices differ according to the demographics the public school is
serving? How big of a role does each factor play in curriculum and teacher training? I also want to
focus on the current use of Professional Learning Communities and the requirement of Professional
Development. How have these newer practices changed the effectiveness of teaching? In Early
Childhood we have always had to fulfill Professional Development requirements in order to maintain
or upgrade Early Childhood Credential Permits. How new is the requirement for Professional
Development for multi subject teachers in maintaining their credential? Through research for this
paper in addition to tracking the changes in credentialing requirements of educators, I hope to discover
if California has been able to keep up with the ever changing educational needs of our population; or
if the state has had to play catch up at some points in time. Are we alone in the challenges we

Comparing The Bluest Eye And Lamar s Black Is Beautiful
Black Is Beautiful is a cultural movement that was created by African American communities in the
United States. The fight for equal rights and more positive views on African Americans started in the
1960s when society would make negative judgments on them since the media believed that African
Americans were only good for being slaves. The novel The Bluest Eye (1970) by Toni Morrison and
the album To Pimp A Butterfly by Kendrick Lamar both show oppression through institutionalized
racism. The idea of Black Is Beautiful is influenced through Morrison s novel and Lamar s album by
using the themes of low self esteem / self hate and judgment beyond skin color.
One of the main themes in the novel The Bluest Eye is low self esteem / self hate. The author reveals
this theme through the character s actions and word choice. In The Bluest Eye, the author reveals how
Claudia feels about herself by explaining what she did to the blue eyed doll. She says, I fingered the
face, wondering at the single stroke eyebrows... I could not love it. But I could examine it to see what
it was that all the world said was lovable (Morrison 21). Another way low self esteem and self hate is
revealed is in Kendrick ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

their skin tone is and how they behave and act. Before his mother told him the difference between the
two, Junior loved to play with the black children because he did not see them as any different from
him. After he learns about colored people and niggers , he starts to feel more superior than them which
lead to him becoming hateful towards these children. Lamar also mentions this in his song
Complexion by explaining that it does not matter whether you are light, dark, a lighter dark tone, or
darker dark tone. Our skin color does not define who we really

Imagine never being looked at for the way your eyebrows and eyelashes appear. Think of what it
would be like to wake up without drawing on eyebrows. If you have hypnosis for trichotillomania,

If you have hairless eyebrows and eyelashes, you may need help. It is hard to resist the urge to pull out

Do you feel like change is impossible?
Are you afraid that your habit hurts your health?
Do you want longer, healthier hair?

The mind has pathways that link it together. If these pathways are messed up, it can cause bad habits
and emotional problems. Hypnosis for eyelash pulling helps to fix the brain s pathways. Instead of
resorting to pain when you feel stressed, your mind looks for a better choice.
Hypnosis for eyelash pulling helps to rewire your mind. You have developed a nervous habit over
years. Your mind resorts to this habit, but hypnosis helps you unlearn it again. Instead of impulsively
pulling hair, you may take deep breaths or go on a walk. Your mind is given new ways to handle stress
and negative emotions.
Your subconscious mind is always working, but you cannot talk to it all the time. Most of the time,
you do not realize it is there. In hypnosis, we can draw out the subconscious mind. During this mental
state, we can talk directly to the subconscious. Your mind gets a chance to work through fears, habits
and stress. Basically, your conscious mind can change the way your subconscious thinks.
If your mind can learn to see hair pulling as bad, it will alert you before you pull hairs. You will not
forget and pull out your eyelashes. Your mind can also learn healthy habits instead. Before long,
hypnosis will completely rewire your mind for a healthier, happier

Two Factors By Innate Intelligence
Ryan Abdullah 11.2
(a) What is meant by the term innate intelligence? [2]
It is a form of intelligence that is said to be derived from decadence through heredity.
(b) Describe two factors that may influence a person s level of intelligence. [4]
Diet, the intake of a proper balanced diet containing a variety of different foods is necessary for the
physical development of an individual within a society. If an individual does not develop properly,
he/she will not be able to perform at the same level as he/she could. As he/she won t be able to
perform at the same level there intelligence will be altered (usually in a negative manner). Educational
opportunities, if a person comes from a fortunate background they might have the opportunity to
pursue their education in private schools and higher education as the cost as a percentage of their total
income will be lower than that of a person from an unfortunate background.
(c) How might examinations not reflect ability[6] ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This can easily brought about by many factors such as how the questions on the actual test are
formulated; this creates distorted results. The factor of Stress in an examination greatly changes the
reflection of ability when a student takes an exam as the stress can cause the student to not answer
questions in the way he/she usually would usually do. This skews the data and makes it less
representative of the students overall ability.Examinations rely on memorization not skills and
knowledge of a subject. This is easily seen in exams revolving around manual skills such as written
practical examinations where a student might know what to do in real life but does not know how to

Road Not Taken Obstacles
Adventure and The Road Not Taken have similar stories with characters that go through the same
obstacles. In Robert s poem and Sherwood s short story, they both have characters that come to a fork
in the road. Thus, the characters have to make a difficult decision that will change their future and life.
In The Road Not Taken , the traveler must choose from two roads to continue. The traveler does not
know what to do, and the traveler stands there pondering his decision. The traveler has a big decision
to make, and the traveler chooses the road less traveled by. Moreover, this decision was life changing
for the traveler. For example, I took the one less traveled by, And that has made all the difference

Ned loved Alice, but he ended up moving to Cleveland for a brighter and better future. Robert and

This is like the poem The Road Not Taken because the two roads Ned has to choose from are to stay in

decision changed his life too. For example, Then he was caught up by the life of the city; he began to

Confucius was a philosopher and scholar who spread Confucianism. His teachings focused on ethical
principles of both human interaction and harmony. Confucianism differed from other religions,
sometimes not even being considered a religion. Even so, it spread to other East Asian countries and
has influenced spiritual and political life. Confucians were meant to learn how to know and respect
themselves as they went about their daily lives. Confucius also believed that a ruler should learn self
discipline and treat his subjects with love and concern. Confucianism emphasized being spiritual, not

Cost Of Extremism Essay

Extremism is the defense of liberty is no vice; moderation in the pursuit of justice is no virtue. It is not
ideal to use extremism at any means for defense because it involves violence and danger towards its

What Intimate Relationship Between Transparent Logic,...
Japanese autodidact modernist architect Tadao Ando, explores the intimate relationship between
transparent logic, abstraction, nature and place through the study of material and form and the
interaction between the everyday human life and it s surrounding in his architecture. The interplay of
these elements are evident through his body of work especially his residential Koshino House and
Extension project. His broad depth in understanding the inherent fundamental human needs and his
close study of famous modernist architects such as Le Corbusier and Frank Lloyd Wright has resulted
in his prevailing success.

is founded on the sensibility of the Japanese people . As a child growing up in front of a wood
workshop, being fascinated by what he saw, at the age of 10 17 Ando became an apprentice, learning
to create wooden models and the skills of a carpenter. There he discovered the beauty of the balance
between a form and the material it is made of. However it was not until he was 18, when he
discovered a book about Le Corbusier and began to travel and analyse traditional and contemporary
architecture in Japan, Europe and the United States, he came to understand these relationships in

Nurse Ratched, known as Big Nurse is the head nurse in the asylum and her role is to keep order and

Specimens In Health Care
In any medical and health care field specimen collections are a major part of them. A specimen, like a
specimen of blood or body tissue that is taken for medical testing. The noun specimen comes from the

something to study it Specimen.(2015). There are two major types of specimen collections that are
used in health care facilities, those are blood and urine specimens. The doctor is the one who will

Not following the order of draw could cause possible interfering factors. Contamination from other

the tech uses a red top tube instead of a lavender top tube and it is sent to the lab, they wrong tests will

Symptom 7: Shortness of Breath
Trouble catching your breath can be related to the kidneys in two ways. First, extra fluid in the body
can build up in the lungs. And second, anemia (a shortage of oxygen carrying red blood cells) can
leave your body oxygen starved and short of breath.
What patients said:
At the times when I get the shortness of breath, it s alarming to me. It just fears me. I think maybe I

Hurricanes And Climate Disaster Events
1. Summary
Hurricanes and climate disaster events caused losses exceeding $110 billion in damages and 377
deaths across the United States, in the year 2012. This makes the year 2012 the second costliest on
record, after the year 2005 which witnessed $160 billion losses due to hurricanes, including hurricane
Katrina. Hurricane Sandy was the major driver of substantial damage costs in the year 2012
(approximately $65 billion). During the 1980 2005 period, the United States sustained over $500
billion in overall inflation adjusted damages/costs due to extreme climate events. The analysis of
available data shows a significantly increasing trend in billion dollar disasters. The economic impact
of hurricanes is huge and there is a need to improve the resiliency and the sustainability of the built
environment under extreme wind events, to protect our citizens and to reduce the massive economic
losses brought by hurricanes. The purpose of this project is to significantly reduce devastating
hurricane effects on infrastructure by implementing solutions to provide strategic guidance on the
aerodynamic mitigation of buildings, to help lessen roof suctions, a major source of economic losses
and community disruption. In addition, solar panels arranged aerodynamically to reduce both roof
suction and panel s loads will be investigated, in an attempt to create safer and greener buildings, as
well as to meet stringent wind requirements.

run away from everything. Though, the choice is a poor decision, and now, instead of a semi stable

of the social ladder by customary law (Archibald and Richards 10). To be kept at the bottom because
of being a different gender is belittling; barely being counted as a human being with not even a third

Developing materials and interventions that are tailored to a specific target audience can help ensure
that the messages appeal to that subgroup and will likely spur the behavior change/product use. For
this social marketing campaign, the target audience is sexually active men and women ages twenty
one through thirty five. Another aspect of the target audience is that they are active members in the
dating scene. As a result, all promotion methods, materials, and interventions will be designed with
this target audience in mind. The second construct for this social marketing campaign is product. In
this case, the product is the behavior change of utilizing condoms during sex. As a result, this
campaign aims to change how individuals view condoms (Cruz, 2017b). Additionally, an important
objective of this campaign is to showcase the benefit of condoms in reducing STI s. The third
construct of this social marketing campaign refers to price. This can be the financial cost of engaging
in the behavior change as well as the potential barriers (Stoney et al., 2015). The financial cost of
condoms may prevent individuals from utilizing them during sex. In addition, the inconvenience,
inaccessibility or embarrassment of purchasing condoms may also serve as barriers. Price also refers
to what an individual has to give up in order to engage in the health behavior (Cruz, 2017b). Members

Western Blot Analysis
Immunoblotting is an effective approach that utilizes antibody tags to analyze, isolate, and quantify
proteins. A Western Blot, a type of immunoblotting method, was used in this experiment to evaluate
the protein quantities contained within the different subcellular fractions. Although, the Western
blotting method can be implemented for the study of more complex cellular processes. Complex
cellular processes such as metabolism can be greatly evaluated with immunoblotting methods. For
example, some of the players involved in enzymatic activities in cellular metabolism can be identified
with immunoblotting techniques. (Lewin, Van Horn, Krisans, Coleman, 2002) To analyze the Western

Three bands were distinguished (not including the standard curve bands), one band was present in the
crude fraction lane and two bands in the mitochondrial fraction lane. No protein bands were present in
the Nuclear fraction lane nor the soluble fraction lane. The Cox9 Ab binds to mitochondria so it was
expected that the mitochondrial fraction lane would develop the most bands. Most of the mitochondria
should be in the mitochondrial fraction. (Hart, 2017) The crude fraction lane also had mitochondria
that interacted with Cox9 Ab, therefore, subcellular mitochondria was in the crude fraction, to a lesser
extent. It was evaluated that the mitochondrial fraction proteins had greater migration (Table 9, 10,

What Would Happen If We Have Full Freedom Research Paper
What would happen if we had full freedom? What would need to happen to have full freedom?
Freedom means we are free and able to do whatever we desire. We do have freedom as of now, but it
is limited. We have rules and laws in place that are meant to be followed. They are here to protect the
well being of everyone and thing. These laws are not necessarily bad but it just doesn t allow full
freedom to come forth. There are some laws that have been revoked because we realized they were
just plain wrong or it put too much restraint on freedom. The laws we have are not perfect but we

We need to improve before we improve the world. Once we do that then we would be able to properly
work together for peace and freedom. To do this would mean that other countries improved
themselves too. When this finally happens and we think we are good enough to work with each other
we will try. As we try to work together we realize we can t.
Why? Why can t we work together when we all bettered ourselves. The reason is because we all
improved on ourselves but we did in different ways. We improved in our own beliefs and ideas.
Nothing would have changed we would have our freedom than has been bettered for us not for the
entire world. The conflicts would still be there just like before. The only thing we can do is accept that
we will never have peace between everybody.
The freedom we have is still limited by peace. That doesn t mean we should keep things the same we
still should improve ourselves for our future. We just need to know everyone doesn t have the same
attitude. When we mention freedom everyone thinks of it differently. Our nation definition of freedom
is different than others that why we fight for it. We still fight for our limited freedom. It may be

the roots of racism in America dating back to the early 1900 s. Social injustice is correlated with the

Business Plan Proposal
Business Plan Proposal
Introduction
The development of start ups is an important business activity that requires effort, time, and financial
resources. It is important to correctly establish the resources that are required by opening a business in
order to be able to successfully reach the objectives established for businesses in each situation. In this
case, the business plan refers to developing a restaurant that focuses on providing meals that are based
on organic foods.
The benefits of organic foods are well known. There are numerous studies in the field that have
identified the benefits that organic foods have on individuals health. There are also numerous studies
that reveal the effects that fast food has on people. Certain governments in different companies
develop campaigns intended to increase awareness on such issues, and to modify the eating habits of
people in these countries. However, it is difficult to reach this objective when customers have
numerous fast food restaurants to choose from. These restaurants provide fast service at smaller prices,
and this is what most customers want.
Therefore, it is important that food providers participate in campaigns developed by governments in
their attempt to improve eating habits. Restaurants that provide healthy food have a better image on
the market in comparison with fast food restaurants. But health food is considered to be more
expensive. This refers to higher production costs, increased costs of

Cryptococcus Neoformans is a Basidiomycetous Yeast Fungus
Introduction/Background
Cryptococcus neoformans is a basidiomycetous yeast fungus that is enclosed with a polysaccharide
capsule. C. neoformans can undergo sexual reproduction that is due to crossing α and a mating types,
resulting in the formation of sexual spores or basidiospores (Buchanan and Murphy, 1998). It is an
intracellular pathogen that affects more than one million individuals, resulting in over 700,000 deaths
per year (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 2014). Individuals become infected with this
pathogen when they inhale fungal particles from the various sources that C. neoformans is found in:
bird guano, decaying vegetables and soil (Upadhya et al. 2013). These particles then enter the alveoli
within the lungs. In individuals with a healthy immune system, the infection is cleared or stays
dormant until an imbalance of the immune system occurs. However, in individuals with compromised
immune systems such as those with HIV, cancer or those taking corticosteroid medications; the fungus
can disseminate and enter the central nervous system. Symptoms include coughing, chest pain, fever,
weight loss, pneumonia and respiratory distress syndrome as well as meningoencephalitis that is fatal
if left untreated (Bose et al. 2003; Upadhya et al. 2013).
Cell mediated immunity in the infected host is very important to respond to fungal invaders.

World War I And America
1939 is when World War 2 started, and everything In the United States started to change. The
American government started to recognize the new immigrants, and the government saw their children
as loyal Americans. On December 7, 1941, Japan attacked the American naval base at Pearl Harbor,
Hawaii. One day after the attack President Franklin D. Roosevelt to declare war on Japan. This has
opened a lot of up doors of opportunity for change for American minorities, as American Indians who
were exposed for the first time to urban life, African Americans reserved more freedom, women who
started to have the ability to work, and Asian Americans who were the most glaring example of the
failure to be adequately pluralistic. At the beginning of World War 2, American Indians played a big
role during the war. 25,000 of them served in the army Including the famous Navajo Code Talkers

their complex native language, so the Japanese couldn t not translate it. A lot of Indians left the

Summary Of The Symposium
Lost Objectivity in the Symposium The Symposium was written by Plato to illustrate a discussion
between a group of friends. Additionally, the story presents numerous arguments that focus on the god
Love and its merits. To pass time while they drink, Eryximachus suggests that each of the guests orate
a eulogy of love. The guests proceed to participate in oration; however, their analysis of love may not
be as objective as it seems. Rather than focus on an impartial view of the god, many of them have
their own personal beliefs that they promote in each of their speeches. Several speeches heavily
deviate from a speech about love, and turn it into a speech that uses love to support and justify their
beliefs. Characters in the Symposium twist the meaning of love to fit their own principles, rather than
provide an objective assessment. Pausanias s speech utilizes love to justify his relationships with
younger boys. Pausanias s speech begins by outlining two distinct types of love: It follows, therefore,
that the same distinction of title Common and Celestial should be applied to the different Loves who
are the associates of one or the other Aphrodite (180e). There are two different gods of love; therefore,
Pausanias argues there should also be two specific types of love. Common Love is the love for the
body, while Celestial Love is the love for someone s intellect. This distinction is critical, as he
expounds upon who can experience Celestial love: [T]he Love who

Film Analysis Of The Movie Inception
The film Inception captured the imagination of many spectators as one of the best science fiction and
thriller movies to be produced that year. It was produced and directed by Christopher Nolan who also
directed The Dark Knight, Interstellar, and Dunkirk. Inception is based on the basic inspiration that a
single idea in an individual s mind can be either the most valuable asset or the most dangerous
weapon.
Inception is a science fiction thriller movie. This genre deals with situations and technology that
would be classified as scientific, but does not exist in real life. Inception connects with this because of
the technology they used to enter the dreams. Although it was never explained, the machine seems to
pump somnacin into the body. Somnacin is a drug utilized to initiate dream sharing and lucid
dreaming. The movie is also classified as a thriller because of the exciting plot. It has intense chase
scenes, gun fire, explosions, and fight scenes all within the dream state. The expectation for the movie
based on the trailer would be constant action. It seems that the main character is away from his family
and is trying to get home, but the only way he can is to do one last job. In the trailer the statement your
mind is the scene of the crime is shown, this indicates that most of the content will be in the dreams of
the subject.

ABSTRACT
Logic gates are one of the main constituents to design and integrate as a chip. With advent of vision
and method in neural network, the intricacy can be clear alongside this knowledge to a remarkable
extent. The intention of this paper is to focus on how to design a perceptron that is nothing but a single
layer feed forward neural network to purpose as an AND gate and to examine its performance. Firstly,

It is a kind of linear classifier, i.e. an association algorithm that makes it forecasts established in a
linear predictor purpose joining a set of weights alongside the feature vector. In this paper, the
mathematical background of neural network will be studied firstly. Then, Neural Web Toolbox in
MATLB® will be utilized to develop the neural web for assisting the analyzing of an AND gate.
II.BASIC CONCEPTS
II.A NEURON
The human brain is a collection of concerning 10 billion interconnected neurons. Every single neuron
is a cell that uses biochemical replies to accord, procedure and send information. It is an electrically
excitable cell that procedures and transmits data across mechanical and chemical signals. These
signals amid neurons transpire via synapses, enumerated connections alongside supplementary cells.
Neurons can link to every single supplementary to form neural networks. A neuron s dendritic tree is
related to a thousand bordering neurons. As one of those neuron fires, an affirmative or negative price
is consented by one of the dendrites.
II.B NEURAL NETWORK
Neural network is a computer arrangement of biological neurons, composed of nonlinear
computational agents working in parallel. A neuron s dendritic tree is related to a thousand bordering
neurons. As one of those neurons fire, an affirmative or negative price is consented by one of the
dendrites. The strengths of all the consented prices are added jointly across the procedures of spatial
and temporal

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Living Off Campus
A student important decision that a student going to college has to discuss is, if a dorm is the best
choice for her or would be better for her to live off campus. Dorm life makes students develop
guidelines. Students that live off campus learn to set their own guidelines that will allow them to be
successful in a more disciplined environment. Living off campus can help the process that allows
students to mature into an adult. However, leaving on campus you don t have to worry about
transportation, responsibility, social life, and cost.
With living on campus students can easily walk to classes, the library, and the café. A disadvantage for
students that live off campus is that they would have to waste time and money driving to school and
finding a parking space. Also, students who live on campus have plenty of parking spots available in
their own assigned residential lots. These students no longer have to fight those convenient commuter
spaces. If a student lives off campus, it might be easier if he/she has a job back home. People who live
off campus may have to take care of a family member. A disadvantage for people that live on campus
would be that they have to stay on campus twenty four seven unlike the people that stay off campus.
Another advantage for people that stay off campus would be that they could go to the movies, the

Analysis Of Allegory Of The Cave By Plato
In this paper I will argue that Plato s views on reality are problematic as they hold some errors. First I
will outline Plato s argument on the existence of two worlds and his belief in Forms in the
understanding of reality. I will use his illustration known as Allegory of the Cave to demonstrate his
argument as well as discuss some strengths and weaknesses within his argument. Finally, I will
suggest an alternative to Plato s argument, with Aristotle and his argument on reality.
Plato looked at metaphysics, the study of the nature and structure of reality, but also epistemology, the
study of knowledge, because to understand knowledge we must understand our reality and visa verse
(Chaffee 2009, p. 222 223). To overcome the debate about reality ... Show more content on

Aristotle looked at the nature of reality, instead of reality as something of our experience as Plato
believed. He believed the world that we are in, is reality. Aristotle did not agree with Plato on the
essence of Forms of things or the separation of the human soul from the body and he believed that
humans are simply rational animals (Solomon, Higgings Nartic 2013, p. 140). Aristotle did believe in
souls, believing they gave each individual body direction and purpose, but disagreed Plato s belief of
it immortality, as once the individual passes, Aristotle believed the soul ceases to exist (Chaffee 2009,
p. 239). Plato believed in the perfect Form of beauty and justice, however, according Aristotle
although we are able to define these notions in our heads, they cannot exist by themselves but instead
as an aspect of a material object. For example a beautiful beach (Chaffee 2009, p. 238). This is why
Aristotle s idea of metaphysics is broken into two classes: Matter (the stuff which makes up the world)
and Form (the essence of things), which together make a substance and although we are able to
separate these two things in our mind, this cannot be done in reality (Chaffee 2009, p. 238). I agree
with Aristotle that for something to exist, it must require both matter and form. For example, Plato
suggests that a table is a table because it participates in the Form of a table (Chaffee 2009, p.

For example the table can be organized using patterns between atomic numbers, electronegativity, ionization energy, structure (gas or solid) valence electrons and electron configuration (shells) as seen in the modern day periodic table. Before history was recorded humans had knowledge of certain elements including gold (Au), copper (Cu), silver (Ag), mercury (Hg), tin (Sn) and lead (Pb). Nevertheless, it wasn t until the year of 1669 that Hennig Brand discovered the very first element Phosphorous (P) through scientific inquiry. Hennig Brand discovered phosphorous through extracting it from urine. Due to the element having the ability to grow in the dark it was referred to as light bearer . In 1980 English chemist Robert Boyle discovered phosphorous independently, following Hennig Brand keeping the process of his discovery secret. Additionally, Johann Dobereiner began grouping elements with like properties into triads groups of 3 elements between 1817 and 1829. In this way, we were truly able to learn and understand the purposes of the labs and other concepts that were expressed in each lab. A chemical change is an irreversible reaction that involves the changing of the substances chemical properties and results in the creation of a new substance. A physical change is a change that affects the physical aspects or form of the substance, but not tis chemical properties. This type of reaction can be reversed and a completely new substance is not formed. So, to know if a chemical change has taken place the many thing to look for is if a new substance is created from the reaction. Experiments can be tested to make sure that no form of a chemical change has taken place if a person is unsure about whether a reaction is physical or chemical. One way that a person could test to make sure the reaction was not a chemical one is to simply see if a product has been produced. If there was a substance created from the reactants coming in contact with each other, then the change was a chemical one. Then, if you are unsure of if a product was created, then you could view the molecules of the reactants under an electron microscope to see if they changed from their original form and their chemical properties. Finally, if you are still completely unsure of if the reaction was chemical, then you could go through a series of ways that may undo the reaction because if the change can be reversed then it is a physical change. The salute dates back to ancient Assyria as a symbol of resistance in the face of violence. (Factbox). The early 1960 s was when the first call for Black Power was raised. Mechanical ventilator induced lung injury (VILI) can affect the lung in several ways. Some of the ways the lung become affected is by excessive pressure, excessive volume, and not enough volume. When the lungs are affected by excessive pressure its termed pulmonary barotrauma. On the other hand, if the lungs receive too much volume it s called volutrauma. However, when the lungs don t receive enough volume its termed atelectrauma. This paper describes how pulmonary barotrauma, pulmonary volutrauma, and pulmonary atelectrauma affects the lungs during mechanical ventilation and ways to prevent them from happening. The first ventilator induced lung injury that I want to discuss is pulmonary barotrauma. Pulmonary barotrauma is a lung complication caused by too much positive pressure forced into the lungs by a mechanical ventilator. Pulmonary barotrauma occurs when the alveolar begins to rupture due to elevated transalveolar pressure. Transalveolar pressure is a function of both the tidal volume and the overall compliance of the lungs. Researchers use plateau pressures to get an estimation of transalveolar pressure. Plateau pressures can be used as a tool to help measure for the risk of pulmonary barotrauma. Researchers have discovered that plateau pressures less than 30 cmH2O have shown to reduce the cause of pulmonary barotrauma. Guy W. Soo wrote ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The fight for equal rights and more positive views on African Americans started in the 1960s when society would make negative judgments on them since the media believed that African Americans were only good for being slaves. The novel The Bluest Eye (1970) by Toni Morrison and the album To Pimp A Butterfly by Kendrick Lamar both show oppression through institutionalized racism. The idea of Black Is Beautiful is influenced through Morrison s novel and Lamar s album by using the themes of low self esteem / self hate and judgment beyond skin color. One of the main themes in the novel The Bluest Eye is low self esteem / self hate. The author reveals this theme through the character s actions and word choice. It is an intracellular pathogen that affects more than one million individuals, resulting in over 700,000 deaths per year (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 2014). Individuals become infected with this pathogen when they inhale fungal particles from the various sources that C. neoformans is found in: bird guano, decaying vegetables and soil (Upadhya et al. 2013). These particles then enter the alveoli within the lungs. In individuals with a healthy immune system, the infection is cleared or stays dormant until an imbalance of the immune system occurs. • 36. Summary Of The Symposium Lost Objectivity in the Symposium The Symposium was written by Plato to illustrate a discussion between a group of friends. Additionally, the story presents numerous arguments that focus on the god Love and its merits. To pass time while they drink, Eryximachus suggests that each of the guests orate a eulogy of love. The guests proceed to participate in oration; however, their analysis of love may not be as objective as it seems. Rather than focus on an impartial view of the god, many of them have their own personal beliefs that they promote in each of their speeches. Several speeches heavily deviate from a speech about love, and turn it into a speech that uses love to support and justify their beliefs. Characters in the Symposium twist the meaning of love to fit their own principles, rather than provide an objective assessment. Pausanias s speech utilizes love to justify his relationships with younger boys. Pausanias s speech begins by outlining two distinct types of love: It follows, therefore, that the same distinction of title Common and Celestial should be applied to the different Loves who are the associates of one or the other Aphrodite (180e). I will use his illustration known as Allegory of the Cave to demonstrate his argument as well as discuss some strengths and weaknesses within his argument. Finally, I will suggest an alternative to Plato s argument, with Aristotle and his argument on reality. Plato looked at metaphysics, the study of the nature and structure of reality, but also epistemology, the study of knowledge, because to understand knowledge we must understand our reality and visa verse (Chaffee 2009, p. 222 223). He believed the world that we are in, is reality. Aristotle did not agree with Plato on the essence of Forms of things or the separation of the human soul from the body and he believed that humans are simply rational animals (Solomon, Higgings Nartic 2013, p. 140). Aristotle did believe in souls, believing they gave each individual body direction and purpose, but disagreed Plato s belief of it immortality, as once the individual passes, Aristotle believed the soul ceases to exist (Chaffee 2009, p. 239). Plato believed in the perfect Form of beauty and justice, however, according Aristotle although we are able to define these notions in our heads, they cannot exist by themselves but instead as an aspect of a material object. For example a beautiful beach (Chaffee 2009, p. 238). This is why Aristotle s idea of metaphysics is broken into two classes: Matter (the stuff which makes up the world) and Form (the essence of things), which together make a substance and although we are able to separate these two things in our mind, this cannot be done in reality (Chaffee 2009, p. 238). I agree with Aristotle that for something to exist, it must require both matter and form. For example, Plato suggests that a table is a table because it participates in the Form of a table (Chaffee 2009, p. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
