How Did Margaret Bourke-White Affect Women In The Early...
Margaret Bourke White; The Eyes of the 1900s Fittingly for the heroic, larger than life Margaret
Bourke White the eyes were the last to go. Sean Callahan Throughout her life, Margaret Bourke White
traveled around the world taking photographs and expanding the idea of photojournalism. She became
the first female war correspondent along with a famous documenter of Gandhi s non violent protest.
Her move to Cleveland, Ohio, her photographic representation of WWII and the Korean Conflict, and
her diagnosis of Parkinson s disease all helped to develop the theme that Margaret Bourke White
broke gender barriers for women in the early 1900s, and led the world on a trail blazing journey that
would inspire generations. In 1927, after shedding a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
and Germany. On her trip to the South, the famed author Erskine Caldwell joined Margaret Bourke
White. Their association resulted in the book, You Have Seen Their Faces , and, as Phillips, the
curator of The Phillips Collection in Washington D.C., says, The haggard images staring back at the
camera confirmed her increasing understanding of the human condition, she became skilled at
capturing the human experience. By this Phillips means that this experience with Caldwell showed
Margaret Bourke White a new perspective of the human relationship, taught her to capture an intricate
web of emotion in just one photograph, and influenced her later works. Not long after this, the Second
World War began, giving Bourke White a rare opportunity to showcase both her bravery and her skill.
As the first woman credited as a war correspondent, she crossed into Germany with an Air Force crew
on a bombing raid. Throughout the rest of the war, Bourke White continued traveling with the armed
forces through North Africa and Italy, and to the staff of Life magazine she became known as Maggie

Southern Women During The Civil War Analysis
Historians of the Southern woman during the Civil War can come to no agreement concerning the
nature and the role of women in the conflict. According to A.P. Jones, author of The Flower of
Southern Womanhood, Southern women a hundred years ago were lazy, spoiled, and beautiful (22).
They cared only for themselves and subordinated their children, their husbands, and their servants to
their own interest s (22). Historians Harvey Lowe, on the other hand, contends that Southern women
were energetic, intelligent, and well trained in domestic and public service (66). Although not as
beautiful as had been assumed, they were of high character. As one article puts it, The spiritual faith of
the Southern Southern woman is said to have sustained

Analysis Of Garden Valley Hunger Center
You don t forget the face of the person who was your last hope. Collins In the span of a few months, I
have had the privilege of helping with programs that work toward ending hunger in Northeastern
Ohio. I worked at three places, and they all have a great impact on the community they serve. Working
with the people there, I gained a better understanding of how people become food insecure and how
important these programs are. The kindness I was shown is astonishing, and being shown this
affection made me build strong emotional connections to those I was helping. Volunteering at these
centers gave me a lot of hope that diminishing hunger insecurity is possible. The first place I
volunteered was Garden Valley Hunger Center (GVHC). The ... Show more content on

She gives me hope that there will be a change in society that will focus on ebbing hunger insecurities
in America. Another program that I believe will eliminate hunger is the St. Pats Hot Meal Program. St.
Pats is a church that serves hot meals to the community multiple times a week. When a group of peers
and I got there, we spent some time with the kids that showed up while the kitchen was getting ready
for the meal. We brought them coloring books, crayons, colored pencils, puzzles, and checkers. I sat
across from a little boy who kept almost falling asleep. His grandma explained to me that he does not
usually act this way. He is usually a ball of energy who bounces off the walls, but that day he did not
have the energy because he was hungry. No matter how hard I tried to distract him with coloring or
even a conversation, he could not stop thinking about how hungry he was. It made me really sad to
think that someone s hunger could be so bad that they cannot do anything. Food is a necessity, and
being deprived of it can make you feel less human. I hate that in this rich, industrialized nation, there
are severe problems. We need to focus on ending hunger in America, and places like St. Pats will help
do that. We need to support these programs and expand them to reach all of the hunger insecure. By
building upon these programs, we Ohioans

EBIT in 2001 was $527,366,000. So the EBIT is $137,366,000. Then this is taxed at 40% so the EAT
is $82,420,000. So by taking on more debt the EAT diminishes so the earnings per share will drop
dramatically. Dividends affect next years earnings as they are taken out of the EAT.
e. Debt Interest Coverage Rations and Financial Flexibility
The debt interest coverage ratio is EBIT/Debt Interest. The interest on the debt is $390 million as
calculated above. The EBIT in 2001 is $527,366,000. So debt coverage ratio is 527,366/390,000=1.35
If Wrigley s gets a non investment grade rating then their financial flexibility is severely limited.
f. Outstanding Shares
Issuing 3 billion dollars of new debt to pay dividends should not have any effect on the voting control
of the Wrigley family. Using that money to buy back shares will have an effect on the voting right of
the family. When shares are repurchased they are put in the company treasury and are no longer
outstanding. Then the Wrigley family s percent of outstanding shares would rise giving them more
voting control. They also have 58% if the outstanding shares of the Class B shares which have a 10 to

Fashion Channel Case Analysis
Fashion Channel Case Analysis
Wenwen Gao (872236636)
2010.07.07
Introduction and Problem Definition
As the only network dedicated solely to fashion, The Fashion Channel s (TFC) consistent Fashion for
everyone strategy is facing challenges by the other two competitors Lifetime and CNN, which are
separately targeting young females and men by their fashion related programming. The channel needs
to target the right viewers and offer advertisers an attractive mix of viewers, consequently
strengthening its competitive position.
External Situation Analysis
 Current Networks Industry
In 2006, consumer advertisers spent almost $20 billion on cable networks. In the industry, there are
more than 700 cable networks, and most networks ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Because of this narrow and specific segment, TFC could be differentiated from their competitors
greatly. Most of these viewers have highly potential to be TFC s long term loyal customers.
Cons: This segment is very narrow and smaller than other segments. It is only 15% of households.
Targeting this small segment might lead to a drop in viewers, decrease rating from 1.0% to 0.8% (See
Exhibit 2). TFC needs to invest additional $15 million per year on programming.
 Target two segments: the Fashionistas and the Planners Shoppers
Pros: There are 35% households are Planners Shoppers. Through targeting these 2 segments, the
number of highly valued viewers can be increased. Ratings can be increased from 1% to 1.2% (See
Exhibit 2) .CPM will be increased from $2 to $2.5 (See Exhibit 2).Ad sales will be increased from
$230,630,400 to $345,945,600. Net income will be increased from $93,711,488 to $168,867,232(See
Exhibit 3). Because of these two specific segments, TFC could be differentiated from their
competitors greatly. Most of these viewers have highly potential to be TFC s long term loyal
customers.
Cons: TCF needs to spend additional $20 million per year on programming
Recommendation
Comparing the ratings, CPM, Ad revenue and net income of these three scenarios, scenario three will
be the best marketing plan for TFC.
In scenario one, Dana considered maintaining a broad appeal to a cross segment of Fashionistas,

Thanksgiving Scene Analysis
The piece of cinematography I have decided to analyze is a scene from Netflix original, Master of
None Thanksgiving episode. The episode was directed by Malina Matsoukas and produced in 2017.
The scene I have decided to analyze begins at 05:40 minutes into the episode and ends exactly at the
11:00 minutes into the episode. The scene begins with Dev and Denise hanging out on Thanksgiving
of 1999 in Denise s room. The two are playing cards at the beginning of the scene, which eventually
leads to Denise coming out about her sexuality to Dev. Denise and Dev then partake in the smoking of
marijuana in Dev s room. Catherine, Denise s mother then walks into the room unexpectedly as the
two finish up smoking. As Catherine speaking to Dev and Denise ... Show more content on

The use of music does not enter the scene until 07:49 within the scene. The music is offscreen
nondiegetic. The song Pass the Dutchie by Musical Youth is qued following Denise coming out to Dev
about her sexuality. After Denise opens up about being homosexual to Dev, Dev then says how the
topic was intense and that the two should smoke some weed to take the edge off, at this point, the
music begins with the lyrics This generation rules the nation with version, music happens to be the
food of love. The song selection was both aesthetically and narratively pleasing. It foreshadows that
the young Dev and Denise s generation will soon rule the nation with version once they become of
age. The generational reference is important because the prior generation is less understanding, such
as Denise s elders. Also, they will rule with version because there will be a change from the previous
generation. The lyrics music happen to be the food of love are situational irony within the scene
considering that the song references music being the food of love after talking about a taboo topic that
can fill many with hate. Also, the reference to food while the episode takes place on Thanksgiving also
makes the narrative play upon the lyrics. Aesthetically, the song is about recreational use of marijuana
which is

Hamlet Foils
Decisions
In the play Hamlet, Shakespeare incorporates the theme that an individual s decisions, whether
conscious or unconscious, which are made on earth will foreshadow their outcome in the afterlife.
Shakespeare establishes this theme through the contrast of the character foils, Hamlet and Laertes.
While both characters do act upon their decisions, Shakespeare clearly shows the difference between
the influences of their actions. Hamlet commits his actions in an unconscious states as he suffered
from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, which occurs when an individual has, exposure to trauma
involving death (Canadian Mental Health Association, para. 1). Therefore, predestining him to
Purgatory. Meanwhile, Laertes commits his actions in full ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This action shows that Laertes intentionally committed mortal sin, as he had, full knowledge and
consent to his actions (CCC 1857). Hence, making Laertes was aware of what he was doing and where
these actions will lead him to Hell. In addition, Laertes shows a disrespect towards the Claudius,
calling him a vile king (4.5.114). During the Elizabethan era, the King was viewed as the messenger
on earth for God (Wilson 1). With the King being viewed as God s representative, Laertes s decision
to call Claudius vile is him further condemning himself to Hell because he is not only insulting the kill
but God. According to Catholic principles,a person goes to Hell when they, die in mortal sin without
repenting and accepting God s merciful love means remaining separated from him for ever by our own
free choice (CCC 1033). In regards to Laertes s actions and the Catholic definition of who qualifies
for Hell, it is evident that Laertes is on the highway to Hell. Thus, Laertes s destination to Hell is an
predictable fate. Laertes will go to Hell an exact result of his conscious action to sin against God and

Overview Of Artificial Neural Networks
Introduction Artificial neural networks are a class of computational structures (Lesk, 2013) made up of
several processing elements, called artificial neurons that are connected and organized in layers
(Larder et al., 2007). They are capable of generating models for the detection of non linear
functions(..). Their algorithms are extensively applied in biology and medicine to solve complex
problems, more specifically for prediction or classification of solutions or to refine methodological
aspects. (Florence and Balasubramanie, 2010). Human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) is a retrovirus
that can lead to acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS). (Kim et al., 2010). It is a disease in
which the body immune system weakens progressively, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Artificial neural networks have been used extensively as a complimentary bioinformatics tool to make
approximations of the cleavage site activity and specificity. First uses of ANNs to solve the problem
The aim of first research study was to develop a classification model that, given a sequence of eight
amino acids, could discriminate between sequences which are either cleavable or uncleavable by the
HIV 1 protease. (Kim et al., 2010). The neural learning algorithms used most frequently was back
propagation neural networks (BPNNs) (Thomson et al., 2003) because it performs well on prediction
problems. (Sibanda and Pretorius, 2012). When BBNN was used for the prediction of the HIV 1
protease cleavage site, it gave a prediction accuracy 92%(Thomson et al., 2010) However, one of the
major disadvantages of using ANNs to analyse biological data referred to the impossibility of most
ANNs of recognizing non numerical features like amino acids. Hence an encoding process to model
the amino acids was preferable. (Thomson et al., 2003) The advantage of the Bio basic functional
neural networks The peculiarity of this algorithm relates to its ability to recognise amino acids
directly. Thus, avoiding the use of 20 binary bits to represent each amino acid is advantageous. (2003)
The prediction accuracy of BBFNN was proved in a research study using 362 HIV protease
sequences, where 114 were with cleavage sites and

Enzymes And Substrate Concentration
This experiment was conducted to determine the effect of enzymes on its substrate when the quantity
of the substrate and the concentration of the enzyme is altered. More specifically it was looking at
how the fat content in the milk is broken down by lipase. At the start of the experiment it was
hypothesised that if 4% lipase solution was added to a mixture of sodium carbonate and bile salts then
full cream milk will have a faster rate of digestion if all variables are kept constant.

As a growing and developing nation scientists have found that lipase can be used in the detergent
industry. Microbial lipases are an important group of biotechnologically valuable enzyme, because of
their versatility of their applied properties and ease of mass production (Hasan et al., 2010). Scientists
have discovered that due to lipases microbial origin, and enzymatic properties they are particularly
important for industrial use as they can catalyse a specific reaction. They have been used in the
detergent industry as they can reduce the environmental load of detergent products as the chemical
used in conventional detergents and reduced (Hasan et al., 2010). The function of lipases in the
detergent industry is to remove fatty residues and clean clogged drains. This application makes

the quality of food. Through alteration of chemical compounds of vegetable oil with nutritionally

The Benefits Of Homework
Cooper defines homework as task assigned to students by school teachers that are meant to be carried
out during non school hour. (Cooper 2015) However, is it effective enough to justify its extension of
the six hours of school students experience each weekday? As Bennett explains in Must Won t Do It! ,
Much attention is placed on helping students develop as complex and creative thinkers, yet many
classrooms continue to use learning structures without examining their effectiveness. This is often the
case with homework. Research findings on the effectiveness of homework are mixed, and few studies
have examined students and educators perspectives on the benefits of homework as a learning
structure (Bennet). Our current structure of homework may be achieving the opposite of what it needs
to do.
More than any other aspect of education, homework has been the cause of more friction between
schools and home and becomes the prime battlefield when schools, families, and communities view
one another as adversaries. Recent homework debates in this country have centered on questions of
how much homework at which grades produce what kinds of learning gains. A recent analysis of
homework research by the Center for Public Education (2007) found that homework at the elementary
level is counterproductive, while homework in middle and high school shows some correlation with
small increases in test scores. But those findings do not hold across the board. Homework may have

Italian Renaissance Beliefs

During the Italian Renaissance, people were influenced by positive values that helped change human

make to attract pollinators, it drinks it and stores it in an organ called the crop or the honey

hive. after drinking the nectar, bees create enzymes, which includes inverse, disease and amylase, the

When the bee drinks the nectar it goes into their crop, but they don t have to return to the hive right

bee located which flowers it should drink from because the bee cannot see the color red, therefore
when a bee is looking at a red flower it doesn t even know there is anything there, bees normally see

Over the years, I have come to realize that the greatest trap in our life is not success, popularity, or

nonhuman creature can fill up his home with love and his life with a feel of purpose. Kreider describes
his cat as a jealous type; she is always seeking for attention. While Kreider does his work the cat tries
to grab his attention by sitting on whatever he was reading or walking back and forth in front of him.
Tim Kreider never posted pictures of his cat online or told stories about her. But one thing that he did
do was, made up dozens of nonsensical names for the cat over the years (Kreider 152). Later, he goes
into describing how he found

Individual Heroism In Indiana Jones And The Temple Of Doom
Comparing these two films, both of them have a common point that is individual heroism, which
refers to individuals who reflect American values, act alone to the extent that dedicated to sacrifice
their lives in order to help others even protect the country on their own (Qiong, 2011). In the film
Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, the doctor save all the children and destroy the cult by himself
eventually. He tried his best to help the villagers in difficulties who are strangers for him free from the
ruling of the cult, even at the cost of his life. These alone actions and self sacrifice for others are the
embodiment of individual heroism. For another film, in the case of being chased, Captain America

Pros And Cons Of Ecotourism
Abstract
Eco tourism is one of the fastest growing industries in the world today. It is a form of natural resources
based tourism focused on experiencing and learning about nature. The term ecotourism can be well
described with the following five criteria: nature conservation, low impact, sustainability, meaningful
community involvement, and environmental education. Environmental education must be fulfilled to
perform ecotourism and is the step towards the process of understanding the natural ecosystems.
Ecotourism has been growing rapidly over the last decades. Yet, while ecotourism has the potential to
create positive environmental and social impacts, it can unfortunately be as damaging as mass tourism
if not done properly.

Heavy traffic from environmentalists can hurt or destroy natural landscapes.
To promote ecotourism to improve their economy, the traffic can put these natural systems at risk.

Forest and marine habitats are being destroyed and some of the wildlife they contain is being driven to
extinction under the pressures of hunting, logging, agriculture, and fishing. Where areas have been
officially reserved for nature conservation, many developing country governments lack sufficient
funds to manage and protect them. These areas are being destroyed because they are not fully valued
for their role as nature s genetic reservoirs of the world s biological resources. It is the major threat to
the rich biodiversity and natural habitats of the wilds in the jungles.

Free Will In The Movie The Truman Show In Philosophy
The Truman Show in Philosophy
In the movie The Truman Show Truman Burbank is the main character where he has lived all of his
life in the small town of Seahaven . There Truman has lived all of his life believing that he is living a
normal life, but his whole life he has been filmed and watched by the whole world. His reality was the
town and the universal reality was apart of watching him in his daily life and his reality. The Truman
Show is an example of the concept of Free Will because
Truman has no idea free will in his world, everything is tailored so that he does not have any say in
what really happens in his life. Descartes states that with free will that we tried to doubt all things and
even supposed that He who created us employed His unlimited powers in deceiving us in every way, .
Truman is seen as the good, innocent and pure of how the world should be. Christof, the director of
the show, states The world, the place you live in is a sick place. Seahaven is the way the world should
be. . Christof is portraying God, he controls everything that is going on in the life of Truman. Ed
Helms, the actor playing Christof, says that Christof is a godlike figure he oversees everything and has
been with Truman from birth. This concept of free will and the actors that set up his everyday routine
sets up Platos Allegory of the Cave . The prisoners in the cave are forced to stare at a wall where
shadows are cast and puppeteers are able to show the prisoners what they

The Importance Of The Police And Criminal Evidence Act 1984
Safety is a fundamental right that we all deserve. Most of us rely on the government to provide this
security. We pay for this through taxes, but the question that we must ask ourselves is are we getting
what we are paying for? By paying our taxes to the government we are giving it the authority to
choose the service we are getting back. The Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984 (PACE) is an Act
of Parliament which instituted a legislative framework for the powers of police officers in England
and Wales to combat crime, as well as providing codes of practice for the exercise of those powers.
PACE sets out to strike the right balance between the powers of the police and the rights and freedoms
of the public. Maintaining that balance is a central element of PACE. These powers have been given to
the police to insure our safety however how much power the police really hold is limited by the
PACE, the police must carry out their duty without breaching the rights of individuals. the question of
whether or not these rights should be abolished is a debatable one.
The police stop and search power first came about in 1984 the aim of this act was to protect the rights
of the public from the misconduct of police officers. some may argue that they are still not protected
by this act.Scottish ministers are under renewed pressure to abolish controversial police stop and
search powers, after United Nations human rights experts said they were potentially breaching
international law.

The Rising Costs Of Higher Education
There is no doubt that pricing of higher education has increased, changing the number and groups of
people that are able to receive it, often being those with a high socioeconomic status. The rising costs
of many colleges cause many people to wonder whether or not a pricier education really results in a
better life (including better/more job opportunities in the area studied). As a result, many prospective
American students are examining alternatives in hopes of reducing their debt load. One of the ways in
which they are attempting to do so is by pursuing a degree from an institution in another country. The
trends within education has changed a lot, increasing prices, and increasing demand. There is much
controversy over whether or not students seeking further education should increase their debt load
from a tens of thousands of dollars, to hundreds, for a well known college name and degree. Post
World War II, schools in America during the 1950s were suffering with teacher and building shortages
due to increased enrollment. With increasing demand, that also meant that there were more things that
could be influenced, especially by the government. In the 1960s, the shortage continued, including a
lot of desegregation with both K 12 schools, and colleges. The call for more schools resulted in the
opening of community colleges; institutions that are primarily focused on students from a particular
area, often associated with a lower price tag than Ivy Leagues or other

The Modern Day Legal Systems
Human civilization marked the beginning of modern day legal systems. The advancements in societies
resulted in maintaining certain rules and regulations to continue this progress. Every society has its
own set of laws which are in some ways distinct from others. Many of these laws have common
sections and underlying guidelines. This could be because some societies decide to retain certain
aspects of their customs after breaking out of another society. It could also be the case that over time
different societies through trade and other intercultural activities developed together, which caused
them to have agreements in their laws. For many others, it is the case that they share a common
colonial master. The law and legal systems operating today are derivatives of the forms listed above.
Like many other nations today, the laws of ancient civilizations have affected Canadian law. These
include the Code of Hammurabi, the Mosaic law, Greek and Roman laws, the Magna Carta and a few
others. More recently are the civil and common law derived from the French and British respectively.
Canada did not always have a written constitution. The territory we now refer to as Canada was once
populated by the French and English colonial masters. These colonists extended the laws of their
home countries to their colonies. As the population of this territory grew and the UK gained control of
more colonies including those from the French, regional laws became a necessity. Between the

Income Distribution and Economic Growth in LDC s Essay
Income Distribution and Economic Growth in LDC s
INTRODUCTION
In recent years, one of the major concerns of economic development is the study of poverty, the
income distribution and growth in the less developed countries (LDC s) or Third World countries.
Economists from all over the world have been doing researches and studies on how to induce a growth
in those underdeveloped countries. However, countries differentiate in historical backgrounds, cultural
believes and natural resources. As a result, the government would implement different strategies to
attain a much fairer distribution of income among the society. The relationship between the income

The major concern of the policies would be the approach to provide human basic needs (HBN) for
each and every one of the people in the country. In nearly all of the LDC s, majority of the people are
living under absolute poverty. This means that they are not able to provide a standard level of living
for themselves. Different policies to improve the income inequality and also procure an economic
growth include land reform, redistribution of saving and investment, education for all, progressive
taxation, public expenditures from tax revenues and birth control.
Some people think that there existed a trade off between growth and equity. They think that
distributing income too equally would undermine incentives and thus lower everyone s income. They
believed that the rich needed special encouragement to save and invest more in order to cause a
growth in the economy. Recent evidence suggests that this conventional wisdom is wrong. Many
economies in Asia Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Republic of Korea, Singapore, Taiwan
(province of China) and Thailand have had both rapid growth and relatively low inequality. Between

Techniques used in Alfred Hitchcock s The Rear Window
Marta
Alfred Hitchcock was an amazing director and his films have lived on and are still thriving today due
to the techniques he used in his films and the way he created them. He was known for taking the least
probable scenarios and turning them into a masterpiece just by playing with light and form or angles.
Some of these films are Psycho, Perfect Crime, The Man Who Knew Too Much and Rear Window. At
first it was quite difficult to pinpoint a particular film to choose as he used brilliant techniques in all of
them. However, I have chosen to talk about Rear Window. This is because the fact that the whole film

At first the scene is comedic, that is until the man from across the courtyard leaves his house at 2 a.m.
We see Jeff s watch as the man comes in and out of his apartment 3 times. Each time, the audience
watch as Thorwald (the man) carries a large briefcase with him. Long shots and canning are used to
mimic Jeff s gaze as he follows thethorwald s progress. This makes the audience feel suspicious and
confused as to why someone would leave their apartment so many time in one night.
Too keep them a bit distracted, there are also individual scenes going in the other apartments so that
the audience don t have time to dwell on their suspicion. All is dark except for a couple of houses
which also gives the scene as sinister twist since at the start it was colorful but now it is dark and the
camera is not quite focused. Also, the cuts and fades in this scene are very unpredictable and
unsatisfying, because, as we are looking through Jeff s eyes, he constantly falls asleep which then
prevents us from seeing any more of what happens as the scene fades to darkness. The shots are also
unsatisfying because although they are mostly wide shots, we don t quite see every thing we want to
see.
The Next key scene I will be talking about is the climax when the murder is solved. It all starts with
the sudden death of a dog that was digging around in Mr.Thorwald s (the mad from across the

The Eruption Of The Korean War Era
The eruption of the Korean War brought the abrupt requirement for the expansion of aviation.
Helicopters and the Army were very limited in their capabilities, acquisitions of aircraft, laws in place,

the need was required during the war. Army Aviation saw expansions of their force structure and how

With the acquisition of new aircraft, the training requirements increase as well. The Aviation Center at
Fort Rucker, Alabama was created to train Army aviators in flight training as well as develop a

Army Aviation to grow into the fighting force we know now.
Helicopter Advancement
The Korean War forced many changes on the way helicopters were used. Most importantly, the
medical evacuation (MEDEVAC) function was a pivotal function Army Aviation could provide to the
ground commanders. The potential of helicopters on the battle field were huge, but there were some
hurdles that needed to be overcome. The Army largely depended on the Marine Corps experiences in
Korea to develop programs of their own (Kreisher, 2011). This inspired the Army to field the Bell YH
13 as a replacement for the light, fixed wing, observation aircraft. In 1950, less than two months
before the Korean War, the Army approved five transportation rotary wing companies to begin
producing aircraft.
Limitations of Army Helicopters In September, 1950, General J. Lawton Collins asked the Air Force

After a year of debates and meetings, a formal agreement between the Air Force and the Army

ABSTRACT
The purpose of this paper is to document the genetic disease hypertrichosis. Using articles, and web
sources we will outline the history, genetic basis, and different treatments of this genetic disease.
Hypertrichosis literal meaning is excess of hair growth. The elemental genetic defect remains
unknown because there are many factors at work. There is a debate if hypertrichosis is an autosomal
or X linked disease, since there have been documented cases of both. However, there are certain
chromosomal defects that have proven to be present in many patients. Certain diseases and
environmental triggers are known to be associated with hypertrichosis. Although this disease is
nonfatal, it can be embarrassing and unpleasant for the patient. Excess hair can manifest itself on the
hands, face, and body. There are few treatments aside from cosmetic procedures. There remains no
known cure for hypertrichosis.
HISTORY OF HYPERTRICHOSIS
Hypertrichosis is a unique and rare disease of its time, exemplifying characteristics of having
excessive hair growth covering the entire body. Very little is known about this hypertrichosis because
of how scarce it is. The manifestation, and genetic causes vary when it comes to this disease as well.
These factors as well as others have made this

In An Appeal to the Women of the Nominally Free States , Angelina Grimke immediately addresses
all women as her Beloved Sisters , white or black. She establishes her audience right away and
attempts to connect them through the powerful use of the sisterhood mentality. She begins to remind
all women of their important duties in the world and then questions why women are stripped of
political rights and duties solely because they are women, even though they are a crucial part of
society. She goes on to explain slavery as a brutish crime by which man is robbed of his inalienable
right to liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, the diadem of glory, and honor, with which he was
crowned, and that sceptre of dominion which was placed in his hand when he was ushered upon the
theater of creation. (Grimke). Grimke uses this vivid explanation of slavery to connect the oppression
of African Americans to the oppression of women and how women cannot forget that it is their duty to
help their fellow oppressed citizens, regardless of their skin color. She says that it is not only their
moral duty but also their political duty to act as members of The Great Human Family . She then
begins to specifically describe how slave women are

Self harm may be used to manage pain from an earlier life experience over which the person had no
control such as physical or emotional abuse. While not every client will use self harming behaviors to
deal with emotional pain, I feel that the knowledge of these behaviors will be important in the field of
helper that I am aspiring to work in. Self harm can also be called self injury, self inflicted violence, or
self injurious behaviors. These names refer to a spectrum of behaviors where injuries are self inflicted.
Self mutilation can also be used to describe these behaviors but this term can be offensive. In the
Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders self harm is a symptom of borderline
personality disorder only and does not have a diagnostic criteria. Not everyone who self harms suffers
from a recognized form of mental disorder, but many people who have been diagnosed have a higher
risk of self harming. Whether I chose to work in the field of social work or go on and work in a
psychiatry field I will have clients who suffer from mental illnesses and the more I can know about
their suffering and symptoms will help me to be better in my chosen field. I want to be able to do
whatever I can to empathize and understand about the ways my clients are suffering. Suicide is not the
intention of people who self harm, but

How Muscle Growth Affects Your Body After Weight Training...
Have you always wondered if there s a less time consuming way that you can build muscle, yet still
gives you the results you would get if you worked out daily in the gym? It s not exactly easy, but it is
possible. By varying the intensity of your exercise session and taking a nice recovery period after, you
ll see that you can build your muscles with less effort and become stronger. Many studies have been
done on muscle growth. Much of that research points to the theory that you need to rest your body
after weight training in order to build muscles more effectively. It s also been said that muscles can
continue to adjust to their new growth and strength for time periods as high as 21 days after the last
workout. It s been noted by some fitness buffs that they could reduce their exercise time by two thirds
and still achieve the same amount of muscle growth that they otherwise would have noticed with
everyday workouts. Many fitness enthusiasts are spending way too much time working out, which
means their muscles don t have time to recover. This is unhealthy for muscle growth for your body.
Working out too much can actually damage your health and hamper your muscle building efforts. You
may find yourself suffering from a weaker immune system. You might also get sick or injured easily.
So how to you determine how long you should let your muscles recover after a workout? When you
have intense workouts, remember that your muscles take four to seven days to fully recover.

The study population for this research is patients for EMS hospitals for observation that provide
different shift patterns. This group will mainly include emergency room physicians, and emergency

disregard any potential bias(Bowen, 2009).
The importance of identifying the population is to observe the patients in the different EMS hospitals

is to observe that EMS professionals are required to have a good kind of leadership to take better and

Pros And Cons Of US Tax Policy
Introduction
The US tax policy has created controversy among the presidential candidates vying for the 2016
elections. Democrats consider the current tax code as the basis of the conflict over income inequality.
In the perspective of the democrats, the best way to tackle the issue is to reform the tax code in order
to compel the wealthy to pay more. Accordingly, this will ease the tax burden on those who earn less.
The republicans on the other side believe that tax cuts should be administered to all, irrespective of
their earning capability. The republicans thus believe that the best way to ensure that the economy
thrives is to tax everybody without considering their wealth. Most candidates vying for the 2016
presidential nomination ascertain ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Accordingly, Clinton believes that America is not taxing its wealthy sufficiently. She thinks that
corporations and wealthy individuals need to pay a fair share to the government through taxation. In
Clinton s proposal, taxing the fortunate members of the society would raise about $150 billion in ten
years (Tucker, 2015, p. 107). This plan will affect only 2 people in every 10,000 taxpayers. This plan
seems attractive considering that it is targeting the wealthiest people, and is not aimed at the middle
class. If Clinton s proposal can be implemented, the rich will be taxed more than they are being taxed
by the Obama administration. Clinton s plan is hinged on the so called, Buffet rule , which envisages
the raising of taxes to 30% on all US citizens who are earning more than $ 1 million (Klein, 2015, p.
26). With the new tax plans, Clinton expects to be the president of the successful, the struggling, and
the striving. Apparently, the buffet rule is named after Warren Buffet, a renowned investor who is an
avid supporter of Hillary Clinton (Lee, 2015, p. 6). Considering that Buffet supports the new tax plan
targeting the rich, Clinton believes that other wealthy individuals will be supporting the tax

How Black Is Black In Shakespeare s Othello
In othello there is a obvious difference in the way how black s AKA moor s are treated in the play.
Everything that happens in the play revolves around othello and the simple fact that he is black. This
has an effect on a lot of Othello s conflicts with people in the play such as him having conflict with
Desdemona s father because he is black.
In Othello everyone makes the fact that Othello is black AKA a moor. Shakespeare doesn t aim to
make the fact that he is black the main point in his play but it is a very important part and key detail in
the play.the fact that he is black can mean one of two things; 1.) othello is the victim int all of the play
or 2.) othello is the one in the wrong or out of his place in society. Shakespeare made him different
because it gives the plot more to work with and it can give man readers something to relate to. ...

being black this made his hatred even stronger. IAGO I hate the Moor, And it is thought abroad, that

do as if for surety . Desdemona s father doesn t like the idea of his daughter being with a black man let
alone marry someone black. He wanted someone of royalty that was white to be married to his only
daughter. He also feels the only way his daughter would end up with a black man is by the use of
witchcraft r some type of magic. The only people in the play that didn t mind that he was black was
Desdemona and Cassio. They both kind of liked the fact that he was

The Significance Of White Collar Crime, And White Collar...
When we hear the word crime, we automatically assume that it involves criminal or civil crimes.
These crimes usually involve people in robberies, murders, or even injuries. However, there are also
crimes that are committed by a company or a business. Business crimes or white collar crimes are
crimes committed by a businesses or government professional. These crimes are often committed
using confidential information attained by an individual to commit fraud. There are diverse types of
white collar crimes, including tax fraud, telemarketing fraud, and insider trading. White collar crime
was first introduced by Edwin Sutherland in a presidential address to the American Sociological
Society in 1939. During this address, he discussed the importance of these crimes and why they
should be considered crimes (Shover 133). The reason that these crimes are often overlooked or not
discussed are because of the difference in backgrounds and characteristics of the parties involved. The
Internal Revenue Service (IRS) was established to carry out duties to the Secretary of Treasury. Under
Code Sec 7801, the Secretary of Treasury reserves the right to establish any agency to help enforce
revenue laws (Rettig 59). Thus, the IRS Criminal Investigation Unit was created on July 1, 1919, for
the sole purpose of investigating claims of tax fraud (The History of IRS Criminal Investigation (CI)).
Tax fraud is one type of white collar crime, which occurs when a company or individual tries to

Difference Between Social Insurance Programs And Income...
Social programs
There are many common misconceptions about the differences between social insurance programs and
income assistance programs. Without the proper understanding a myriad of individuals have a habit of
confusing the two programs with each other or will tend to think of the two programs as one in the
same. The keywords I would focus on are found in the name of the programs themselves. For the
social insurance programs, focus on the word insurance and for the income assistance programs, focus
on the word assistance . Social insurance programs are defined as a set of insurance programs that are
oversaw by the government. Just as any insurance, social insurance programs provide benefits to
persons when certain covered and protected events occur. Like most insurance programs, ... Show

People must meet certain requirements, commonly individuals who are not responsible for their
poverty, such as, kids, senior citizens, and disabled individuals will qualify. Public assistance
programs are commonly broken down into two forms of assistance, one is cash assistance and the
other is in kind assistance. Cash assist is a payment made to a qualified individual in the form of
currency. Programs like Supplemental Security Insurance (SSI) pays out funds to disabled, senior
citizens, or blind individuals, but unlike Social security insurance, the potential payee doesn t need to
contribute to qualify for SSI. Another program, Medicaid, is a healthcare program that is like
Medicare, and reimburses healthcare providers for treatment of qualified Medicaid patients. Each state
receives block grant awards for welfare programs (income assistance programs) by the U.S.
government. The federal government then establishes the way money and benefits are distributed to
eligible individuals and/or their families. (Dylan

  • 2. How Did Margaret Bourke-White Affect Women In The Early... Margaret Bourke White; The Eyes of the 1900s Fittingly for the heroic, larger than life Margaret Bourke White the eyes were the last to go. Sean Callahan Throughout her life, Margaret Bourke White traveled around the world taking photographs and expanding the idea of photojournalism. She became the first female war correspondent along with a famous documenter of Gandhi s non violent protest. Her move to Cleveland, Ohio, her photographic representation of WWII and the Korean Conflict, and her diagnosis of Parkinson s disease all helped to develop the theme that Margaret Bourke White broke gender barriers for women in the early 1900s, and led the world on a trail blazing journey that would inspire generations. Their association resulted in the book, You Have Seen Their Faces , and, as Phillips, the curator of The Phillips Collection in Washington D.C., says, The haggard images staring back at the camera confirmed her increasing understanding of the human condition, she became skilled at capturing the human experience. By this Phillips means that this experience with Caldwell showed Margaret Bourke White a new perspective of the human relationship, taught her to capture an intricate web of emotion in just one photograph, and influenced her later works. Not long after this, the Second World War began, giving Bourke White a rare opportunity to showcase both her bravery and her skill. As the first woman credited as a war correspondent, she crossed into Germany with an Air Force crew on a bombing raid. Throughout the rest of the war, Bourke White continued traveling with the armed forces through North Africa and Italy, and to the staff of Life magazine she became known as Maggie The ... According to A.P. Jones, author of The Flower of Southern Womanhood, Southern women a hundred years ago were lazy, spoiled, and beautiful (22). They cared only for themselves and subordinated their children, their husbands, and their servants to their own interest s (22). Historians Harvey Lowe, on the other hand, contends that Southern women were energetic, intelligent, and well trained in domestic and public service (66). Although not as beautiful as had been assumed, they were of high character. As one article puts it, The spiritual faith of the Southern Southern woman is said to have sustained ... Collins In the span of a few months, I have had the privilege of helping with programs that work toward ending hunger in Northeastern Ohio. I worked at three places, and they all have a great impact on the community they serve. Working with the people there, I gained a better understanding of how people become food insecure and how important these programs are. The kindness I was shown is astonishing, and being shown this affection made me build strong emotional connections to those I was helping. Volunteering at these centers gave me a lot of hope that diminishing hunger insecurity is possible. The first place I volunteered was Garden Valley Hunger Center (GVHC). The ... Another program that I believe will eliminate hunger is the St. Pats Hot Meal Program. St. Pats is a church that serves hot meals to the community multiple times a week. When a group of peers and I got there, we spent some time with the kids that showed up while the kitchen was getting ready for the meal. We brought them coloring books, crayons, colored pencils, puzzles, and checkers. I sat across from a little boy who kept almost falling asleep. His grandma explained to me that he does not usually act this way. He is usually a ball of energy who bounces off the walls, but that day he did not have the energy because he was hungry. No matter how hard I tried to distract him with coloring or even a conversation, he could not stop thinking about how hungry he was. It made me really sad to think that someone s hunger could be so bad that they cannot do anything. Food is a necessity, and being deprived of it can make you feel less human. I hate that in this rich, industrialized nation, there are severe problems. We need to focus on ending hunger in America, and places like St. Pats will help do that. We need to support these programs and expand them to reach all of the hunger insecure. By building upon these programs, we Ohioans ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Then this is taxed at 40% so the EAT is $82,420,000. So by taking on more debt the EAT diminishes so the earnings per share will drop dramatically. Dividends affect next years earnings as they are taken out of the EAT. e. Debt Interest Coverage Rations and Financial Flexibility The debt interest coverage ratio is EBIT/Debt Interest. The interest on the debt is $390 million as calculated above. The EBIT in 2001 is $527,366,000. So debt coverage ratio is 527,366/390,000=1.35 If Wrigley s gets a non investment grade rating then their financial flexibility is severely limited. f. Outstanding Shares Issuing 3 billion dollars of new debt to pay dividends should not have any effect on the voting control of the Wrigley family. Using that money to buy back shares will have an effect on the voting right of the family. When shares are repurchased they are put in the company treasury and are no longer outstanding. Then the Wrigley family s percent of outstanding shares would rise giving them more voting control. They also have 58% if the outstanding shares of the Class B shares which have a 10 to 1 voting advantage over the common share class. These shares are not affected by the buyback.

The song Pass the Dutchie by Musical Youth is qued following Denise coming out to Dev about her sexuality. After Denise opens up about being homosexual to Dev, Dev then says how the topic was intense and that the two should smoke some weed to take the edge off, at this point, the music begins with the lyrics This generation rules the nation with version, music happens to be the food of love. The song selection was both aesthetically and narratively pleasing. It foreshadows that the young Dev and Denise s generation will soon rule the nation with version once they become of age. The generational reference is important because the prior generation is less understanding, such as Denise s elders. Also, they will rule with version because there will be a change from the previous generation. The lyrics music happen to be the food of love are situational irony within the scene considering that the song references music being the food of love after talking about a taboo topic that can fill many with hate. Shakespeare establishes this theme through the contrast of the character foils, Hamlet and Laertes. While both characters do act upon their decisions, Shakespeare clearly shows the difference between the influences of their actions. During the Elizabethan era, the King was viewed as the messenger on earth for God (Wilson 1). With the King being viewed as God s representative, Laertes s decision to call Claudius vile is him further condemning himself to Hell because he is not only insulting the kill but God. According to Catholic principles,a person goes to Hell when they, die in mortal sin without repenting and accepting God s merciful love means remaining separated from him for ever by our own free choice (CCC 1033). Overview Of Artificial Neural Networks Introduction Artificial neural networks are a class of computational structures (Lesk, 2013) made up of several processing elements, called artificial neurons that are connected and organized in layers (Larder et al., 2007). They are capable of generating models for the detection of non linear functions(..). Their algorithms are extensively applied in biology and medicine to solve complex problems, more specifically for prediction or classification of solutions or to refine methodological aspects. Artificial neural networks have been used extensively as a complimentary bioinformatics tool to make approximations of the cleavage site activity and specificity. First uses of ANNs to solve the problem The aim of first research study was to develop a classification model that, given a sequence of eight amino acids, could discriminate between sequences which are either cleavable or uncleavable by the HIV 1 protease. (Kim et al., 2010). The neural learning algorithms used most frequently was back propagation neural networks (BPNNs) (Thomson et al., 2003) because it performs well on prediction problems. (Sibanda and Pretorius, 2012). When BBNN was used for the prediction of the HIV 1 protease cleavage site, it gave a prediction accuracy 92%(Thomson et al., 2010) However, one of the major disadvantages of using ANNs to analyse biological data referred to the impossibility of most ANNs of recognizing non numerical features like amino acids. Hence an encoding process to model the amino acids was preferable. (Thomson et al., 2003) The advantage of the Bio basic functional neural networks The peculiarity of this algorithm relates to its ability to recognise amino acids directly. Thus, avoiding the use of 20 binary bits to represent each amino acid is advantageous. • 12. The Benefits Of Homework Cooper defines homework as task assigned to students by school teachers that are meant to be carried out during non school hour. (Cooper 2015) However, is it effective enough to justify its extension of the six hours of school students experience each weekday? As Bennett explains in Must Won t Do It! , Much attention is placed on helping students develop as complex and creative thinkers, yet many classrooms continue to use learning structures without examining their effectiveness. This is often the case with homework. Research findings on the effectiveness of homework are mixed, and few studies have examined students and educators perspectives on the benefits of homework as a learning structure (Bennet). Our current structure of homework may be achieving the opposite of what it needs to do. More than any other aspect of education, homework has been the cause of more friction between schools and home and becomes the prime battlefield when schools, families, and communities view one another as adversaries. Recent homework debates in this country have centered on questions of how much homework at which grades produce what kinds of learning gains. A recent analysis of homework research by the Center for Public Education (2007) found that homework at the elementary level is counterproductive, while homework in middle and high school shows some correlation with small increases in test scores. Free Will In The Movie The Truman Show In Philosophy The Truman Show in Philosophy In the movie The Truman Show Truman Burbank is the main character where he has lived all of his life in the small town of Seahaven . There Truman has lived all of his life believing that he is living a normal life, but his whole life he has been filmed and watched by the whole world. His reality was the town and the universal reality was apart of watching him in his daily life and his reality. The Truman Show is an example of the concept of Free Will because Truman has no idea free will in his world, everything is tailored so that he does not have any say in what really happens in his life. Descartes states that with free will that we tried to doubt all things and even supposed that He who created us employed His unlimited powers in deceiving us in every way, . We pay for this through taxes, but the question that we must ask ourselves is are we getting what we are paying for? By paying our taxes to the government we are giving it the authority to choose the service we are getting back. The Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984 (PACE) is an Act of Parliament which instituted a legislative framework for the powers of police officers in England and Wales to combat crime, as well as providing codes of practice for the exercise of those powers. PACE sets out to strike the right balance between the powers of the police and the rights and freedoms of the public. Maintaining that balance is a central element of PACE. These powers have been given to the police to insure our safety however how much power the police really hold is limited by the PACE, the police must carry out their duty without breaching the rights of individuals. the question of whether or not these rights should be abolished is a debatable one. The police stop and search power first came about in 1984 the aim of this act was to protect the rights of the public from the misconduct of police officers. some may argue that they are still not protected by this act.Scottish ministers are under renewed pressure to abolish controversial police stop and search powers, after United Nations human rights experts said they were potentially breaching international law. Post World War II, schools in America during the 1950s were suffering with teacher and building shortages due to increased enrollment. The advancements in societies resulted in maintaining certain rules and regulations to continue this progress. Every society has its own set of laws which are in some ways distinct from others. Many of these laws have common sections and underlying guidelines. This could be because some societies decide to retain certain aspects of their customs after breaking out of another society. It could also be the case that over time different societies through trade and other intercultural activities developed together, which caused them to have agreements in their laws. • 38. Techniques used in Alfred Hitchcock s The Rear Window Marta Alfred Hitchcock was an amazing director and his films have lived on and are still thriving today due to the techniques he used in his films and the way he created them. He was known for taking the least probable scenarios and turning them into a masterpiece just by playing with light and form or angles. Some of these films are Psycho, Perfect Crime, The Man Who Knew Too Much and Rear Window. At first it was quite difficult to pinpoint a particular film to choose as he used brilliant techniques in all of them. However, I have chosen to talk about Rear Window. This is because the fact that the whole film occurs in the same setting and still holds our interest is very hard to do but he was able to by using diverse camera angles and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... At first the scene is comedic, that is until the man from across the courtyard leaves his house at 2 a.m. We see Jeff s watch as the man comes in and out of his apartment 3 times. Each time, the audience watch as Thorwald (the man) carries a large briefcase with him. Long shots and canning are used to mimic Jeff s gaze as he follows thethorwald s progress. This makes the audience feel suspicious and confused as to why someone would leave their apartment so many time in one night. Too keep them a bit distracted, there are also individual scenes going in the other apartments so that the audience don t have time to dwell on their suspicion. All is dark except for a couple of houses which also gives the scene as sinister twist since at the start it was colorful but now it is dark and the camera is not quite focused. Also, the cuts and fades in this scene are very unpredictable and unsatisfying, because, as we are looking through Jeff s eyes, he constantly falls asleep which then prevents us from seeing any more of what happens as the scene fades to darkness. The shots are also unsatisfying because although they are mostly wide shots, we don t quite see every thing we want to see. The Next key scene I will be talking about is the climax when the murder is solved. It all starts with the sudden death of a dog that was digging around in Mr.Thorwald s (the mad from across the courtyard) flowers. This makes Jeff suspicious and suddenly he asks ... With the acquisition of new aircraft, the training requirements increase as well. The Aviation Center at Fort Rucker, Alabama was created to train Army aviators in flight training as well as develop a standard for Aviation a cross the force. Through all of these challenges, the foundation was set for Army Aviation to grow into the fighting force we know now. Helicopter Advancement The Korean War forced many changes on the way helicopters were used. Most importantly, the medical evacuation (MEDEVAC) function was a pivotal function Army Aviation could provide to the ground commanders. The potential of helicopters on the battle field were huge, but there were some hurdles that needed to be overcome. The Army largely depended on the Marine Corps experiences in Korea to develop programs of their own (Kreisher, 2011). This inspired the Army to field the Bell YH 13 as a replacement for the light, fixed wing, observation aircraft. In 1950, less than two months before the Korean War, the Army approved five transportation rotary wing companies to begin producing aircraft. Limitations of Army Helicopters In September, 1950, General J. Lawton Collins asked the Air Force to remove weight restrictions of 3,500 pounds, limiting what the Army could do with their helicopters. After a year of debates and meetings, a formal agreement between the Air Force and the Army removed the weight limitations. The United ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Notes On The Genetic Disease Hypertrichosis Community College of Allegheny County Hypertrichosis (Werewolf Syndrome) Erin Bachor, Taylor Burgess, Anna Glaser, and Megan Peterson BIO 207AC01H Dr. John Law 05 June 2015 ABSTRACT The purpose of this paper is to document the genetic disease hypertrichosis. Using articles, and web sources we will outline the history, genetic basis, and different treatments of this genetic disease. Hypertrichosis literal meaning is excess of hair growth. The elemental genetic defect remains unknown because there are many factors at work. There is a debate if hypertrichosis is an autosomal or X linked disease, since there have been documented cases of both. However, there are certain chromosomal defects that have proven to be present in many patients. Certain diseases and environmental triggers are known to be associated with hypertrichosis. Although this disease is nonfatal, it can be embarrassing and unpleasant for the patient. Excess hair can manifest itself on the hands, face, and body. There are few treatments aside from cosmetic procedures. There remains no known cure for hypertrichosis. HISTORY OF HYPERTRICHOSIS Hypertrichosis is a unique and rare disease of its time, exemplifying characteristics of having excessive hair growth covering the entire body. Very little is known about this hypertrichosis because of how scarce it is. The manifestation, and genetic causes vary when it comes to this disease as well. These claims are the foundation of America s independence and essentially its entire history. But claims are simply all they were in history. While many achieved equal democracy and freedom, the African American population of the US was exempt from these inalienable rights and heavily oppressed by society. The cruelty of slavery and oppression as a whole reached its peak in the 19th century bringing upon the abolitionist movement, which eventually aided in the historic removal of slavery and the continued fight for equal right of citizenship for African Americans. In An Appeal to the Women of the Nominally Free States , Angelina Grimke immediately addresses all women as her Beloved Sisters , white or black. She establishes her audience right away and attempts to connect them through the powerful use of the sisterhood mentality. She begins to remind all women of their important duties in the world and then questions why women are stripped of political rights and duties solely because they are women, even though they are a crucial part of society. She goes on to explain slavery as a brutish crime by which man is robbed of his inalienable right to liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, the diadem of glory, and honor, with which he was crowned, and that sceptre of dominion which was placed in his hand when he was ushered upon the theater of creation. (Grimke). Grimke uses this vivid explanation of slavery to connect the oppression of African Americans to the oppression of women and how women cannot forget that it is their duty to help their fellow oppressed citizens, regardless of their skin color. She says that it is not only their moral duty but also their political duty to act as members of The Great Human Family . She then begins to specifically describe how slave women are ... Have you always wondered if there s a less time consuming way that you can build muscle, yet still gives you the results you would get if you worked out daily in the gym? It s not exactly easy, but it is possible. By varying the intensity of your exercise session and taking a nice recovery period after, you ll see that you can build your muscles with less effort and become stronger. Many studies have been done on muscle growth. Much of that research points to the theory that you need to rest your body after weight training in order to build muscles more effectively. It s also been said that muscles can continue to adjust to their new growth and strength for time periods as high as 21 days after the last workout. It s been noted by some fitness buffs that they could reduce their exercise time by two thirds and still achieve the same amount of muscle growth that they otherwise would have noticed with everyday workouts. Many fitness enthusiasts are spending way too much time working out, which means their muscles don t have time to recover. This is unhealthy for muscle growth for your body. Working out too much can actually damage your health and hamper your muscle building efforts. You may find yourself suffering from a weaker immune system. You might also get sick or injured easily. Democrats consider the current tax code as the basis of the conflict over income inequality. In the perspective of the democrats, the best way to tackle the issue is to reform the tax code in order to compel the wealthy to pay more. Accordingly, this will ease the tax burden on those who earn less. The republicans on the other side believe that tax cuts should be administered to all, irrespective of their earning capability. The republicans thus believe that the best way to ensure that the economy thrives is to tax everybody without considering their wealth. She thinks that corporations and wealthy individuals need to pay a fair share to the government through taxation. In Clinton s proposal, taxing the fortunate members of the society would raise about $150 billion in ten years (Tucker, 2015, p. 107). This plan will affect only 2 people in every 10,000 taxpayers. This plan seems attractive considering that it is targeting the wealthiest people, and is not aimed at the middle class. If Clinton s proposal can be implemented, the rich will be taxed more than they are being taxed by the Obama administration. Clinton s plan is hinged on the so called, Buffet rule , which envisages the raising of taxes to 30% on all US citizens who are earning more than $ 1 million (Klein, 2015, p. 26). Business crimes or white collar crimes are crimes committed by a businesses or government professional. These crimes are often committed using confidential information attained by an individual to commit fraud. White collar crime was first introduced by Edwin Sutherland in a presidential address to the American Sociological Society in 1939. During this address, he discussed the importance of these crimes and why they should be considered crimes (Shover 133). The reason that these crimes are often overlooked or not discussed are because of the difference in backgrounds and characteristics of the parties involved.
