Kincaid, being from the two Caribbean island of Antigua and Barbuda, is basically Caribbean. Which
could give the story more of a different feel, depending on where it takes place. Being raised in a

Psychoanalytic theory is seen in a text depicting a character who is motivated by psychological desires

Toni Morrison s The Bluest Eye, the character Pecola Breedlove internalizes her discrimination due to

ABSTRACT: The main purpose of this lab is to extract the organic compound cinnamaldehyde from
cinnamon. The process used in order to execute the extraction of the cinnamaldehyde is called steam
distillation. After massing the Cinnamaldehyde on a scale in the laboratory, its total mass came out to
0.050 grams. The calculated percent yield came out to around 1.55%. The experiment yielded success
due to the fact that my data fell in the range (of the expected percent yield.)

Cinnamaldehyde built up in the bottom of the test tube, baring the color brown. The calculated actual
percent yield of my experiment was 1.55%. This calculation fell in the range of the literature percent

The Effect Of Creativity On The Classroom
The following section of this paper will be a critical discussion about the materials Elliott discussed in
the chapter. Overall I really enjoyed Elliott s arguments about creativity, I found it very easy to read
and helped open my eyes on the use of creativity in the classroom. The creative philosophy that Elliott
outlines in this chapter was incredibly helpful. I have always thought of the creative aspect in a
classroom as being a compositional project, or improvisation and Elliott s disapproval of that thought
process has cleared some questions I had. There are so many possibilities to involve creativity in the
classroom now, such as with performance, composition, improvisation, listening assignments and
more. I am very excited to get out there and try some new lessons out for myself. Furthermore, the
curriculum tends to feel too broad yet too limited at the exact same time when it comes to creativity.
There are four components in the curriculum and they often seem very segregated. Even in some of
our classes it has always been, write a lesson plan for one of the wings . I really like this idea of Elliott

Student Motivation Of Student Observation
For my off campus lesson observation I was fortunate enough to go visit one of my favorite teachers
from high school, Kirsten Galanter. She has been teaching at Evergreen High School for 7 years and
teachers family and consumer sciences classes. During high school I took one of her classes every
year and she was one of the reasons I decided to pursue a career in education. Through the two classes
I observed on Thursday November 30th, I was able to to see how she used different strategies for each
of her classes, and then how this effected the students engagement and classroom environment. The
very first class I was able to observe was Child Psychology Kids, which is a class I took during my
time in high school. In this class students who are upperclassmen learn about the growth and
development of kindergarten and first grade aged children and get to work one on one with
kindergarteners/first graders two times a week. During the time I observed I was actually able to
watch the high school students interact with their elementary school buddies . What surprised me the
most about the high schoolers is how self motivated they all were. Mrs. Galanter didn t have to remind
them of the class procedures or when to it was time to head over to the elementary school, all of the
high school students did everything on their own, and every transition was smooth. Even when the
high schoolers were working with their buddies they knew exactly what to do and what was expected
of them, and the time spent in the elementary school also went smoothly. These smooth transitions and
the students understanding of their expectations can only be contributed to Mrs. Galanter and her
ability to enforce these schedules and expectations with her students. When I was a student of hers, I
was fully aware of what she expected of me constantly and she held all of her students to such high

master the art of controlling flight before they could invent this mechanical flyer. Much of their early
ideas with gliders would be derived from bicycles as they felt bicycles and flyers were not as different

They would need a place with suitable high wind speeds to keep their experimentation going. In their
hometown of southern Ohio consistent high wind speeds were uncommon to say the least. Wilbur
figured finding such a place on their own could be problematic. Wilbur would end up writing to an

What motivates me to go to college is my teenage daughter. She is my inspiration to better myself and
my family .We has been through a lot in the last 10 years and this motivates me to better myself and

In this era people were self dependent on growing their own food as well as making clothes for
themselves. In today s times we rely on retail shopping for our clothes and food. There are separate
markets for each providing room for progress in society.
As far as the business side goes in this era, most businesses were small and relied on local profit alone.
In society today, while small businesses do still exist more often than not most corporations are
relying on profit across the globe. This way more profit and jobs can be made.
The Industrial Era
The factory system was just being developed in this era. This was the beginning of a major way in
which businesses would grow. Still today we use techniques for this time bust we have improved on
the efficiency of how products are made. Also putting laws in place for no child labor which was a
great improvement.
Specialty or larger stores began to compete with the general or smaller stores that were prominent in
the previous era. Trade became less important, and with this the market economy was born. We have
improved this system with finding a good balance in big corporations and smaller businesses. This
allows the system to function much easier and there is much more room for success from several
companies, not just a few.
