A chemical change is a change that alters the identity of a substance. A chemical change can be
identified by five things: change in mass, formation of a precipitate, release of heat and/or light, color
change, or giving off gas. Physical changes occurred in four out of the eight experiments completed in
this lab. The first was experiment one, the salt and water. The salt was added to water but when the
water evaporated the salt remained. The water changed to the vapor form of water and the salt did not
change. The second was experiment two, the candle. When the candle was lit the heat given off from
the fire melted the wax beneath it. Melting is a physical change because the liquid wax is still wax, its
usual form is just a solid. Experiment four dealt with ripping paper. This was a physical change
because, although the paper was being ripped apart, it was (and still is) paper. The smaller pieces did
not change the mass or any other factor of it except the surface area of each piece. Experiment seven
dealt with vinegar being added to milk. The vinegar did not change but the milk was curdled by the
vinegar. Although the milk was curdled, the milk remained milk. The composition stayed the same.
Each of these experiments showed no change in a substance so as it changed to another substance.
Chemical changes occurred in five out of the eight experiments completed in this lab. Although the
main focus of experiment two was

Arthur Dimmesdale In The Scarlet Letter
According to Plautus, an ancient roman philosopher, Nothing is more wretched than a guilty
conscience . Throughout the course of The Scarlet Letter, Nathanial Hawthorne seems to further attest
to this idea by illustrating the effects of living under the weight of a guilty mind through the life of
Arthur Dimmesdale. Dimmesdale commits adultery, a crime that is usually punished by death, before
the novel even beings. Due to his high rank in the community, he decides to save his image and keep
this mistake a secret. By not coming forward with the other accused sinner to confess their crimes, he
is forced to live out the rest of his days followed by the shadow of his sin Due to the fact that his
underlying guilt gets progressively worse as each ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Chillingworth offers his help in diagnosing the bodily disease that has taken over Dimmesdale s
health, although he already suspects it is due to Dimmesdale s hidden sin. With this in mind,
Chillingworth constantly fills Dimmesdale s conscience with more feelings of guilt and self hate for
his own revenge. Chillingworth regularly questions Dimmesdale along the lines of, wouldst thou have
me to believe...that a false show can be better...than God s own truth? (129). Chillingworth plays a
defining factor in the deterioration of Dimmesdale s mind by blatantly pointing out Dimmesdale s
wrongdoings. With his mind being held hostage by his guilt, Dimmesdale s will to confess overpowers
his will to

The Based Sharing Economy Is The Community Based Online...
Technology based sharing economy is the community based online services that sharing the access to
goods and services based on peer to peer mode (Hamari, Sjöklint Ukkonen, 2015).
The widespread of mobile tablets and advanced payment ways motivate the advent of the technology
based sharing economy like Airbnb and Uber. The sharing economy nowadays is just a reengineered
consumption model consists of old processes and digital technologies (Sundararajan, 2013). In other
words, digital technologies are the powerful enablers for the rising of sharing economy.
Sharing economy opens a new door for the whole world, however, there remains some obstinate
problems and one significant issue is the fuzzy regulations. One news reported that NSW ... Show

The fuzzy regulation s promoting the development of sharing economy not only brings impressive
benefits but also causes serious problems.
1.Impact on society
Merits
1)Create further sustainable society. The fuzzy regulations provide a suitable growing environment for
sharing economy performers such as Airbnb and Uber. The application of Uber takes full advantage of
cars not only relieve the congestion but also cuts emissions, which benefits the sustainability of
society.
2)Boost economy for some cities. One study found that 14% of Airbnb customer would not visit a city
without Airbnb (Heinrichs, 2013). As Airbnb rental is cheaper than hotel services, people tend to
travel with Airbnb, which also promote the tourism in these cities.
Demerits
1)Hidden danger caused by fuzzy rules. There remain no clear rules to regulate the peer to peer
business, which will cause great danger. If a car accident occurs to Uber driver, who should take the
responsibility, the driver, the passenger, or Uber whereas Uber may just claim that it just is a
communication platform for car pooling service. Therefore, clear and corresponding rules should be
applied to avoid such flaws.
2)Uncertain service quality. As the emerging of Airbnb and Uber, there are blurred boundaries
between personal and professional services (Malhotra Alstyne, 2014). To what extent, the service
quality is affected. For instance, a noisy

Japan s Defeat During World War II Essay
Masaru Ibuka founded Sony Corporation in the aftermath of Japan s defeat during World War II (IJ
106). Following the company s startup, Ibuka urged Akio Morita, a navy technical lieutenant in
thermos optical weapons, to come to Tokyo and join him in the start up of his new business venture (IJ
106). In May 1946, Sony Corporation was officially established as Tokyo Tsushin Kogyo Kabushiki
Kaisha (Kabushiki Kaisha), a joint stock company (SE1). From the start Ibuka and Morita were
determined to develop a global market for their products (Global 50). During the early 1950 s
Japanese products suffered from the public perception of their poor quality as compared to products
made in the United States (IJ 106). Morita reasoned that if Sony was going to enter into the
manufacturing and sales of electronic equipment, it was necessary to establish a market presence in
the United States (IJ 107). Thus in 1952, Morita decided to traveled to the United States in order to
examine how US companies manufactured and marketed tape recorders as well as to examine
potential market opportunities for Totsuken exports (IJ 107) At the time, Western Electric had recently
made the patent rights for manufacturing a transistor (which was invented in 1948 at AT T s Bell
Laboratories) available to anyone who would pay royalties. Ibuka s desire to effectively use the
diverse strengths of his engineering and specialist talent would ultimately influence his decision to

Political And Social Responsibility Of Illegal Drug...
The illegal drug trafficking found throughout Latin America is not an issue that can be solved by
either a government or an individual alone. Unfortunately, it is also an issue that requires more than
one solution in order to solve the problem. Each Latin American state is unique, as are the various
citizens who inhabit them. As drug trafficking is a transnational force, Latin American governments
often find themselves not only at odds with one another, but with larger political and economic powers
such as the United States (U.S.). In addition, how many of these states have decided to address the
illegal drug trafficking business, often through the use of armed force, have put them at odds with
their respective citizens. Despite the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Citizens may begin to question who controls the monopoly of force, who is extracting revenues
(taxes), and have resources been diverted from public goods in an effort to improve security.
Ultimately, when a Latin American nation proves unsuccessful in eliminating the illegal drug
trafficking industry, it calls into question who and what bears political and social responsibility for this
industry. Accountability for the illegal drug trafficking industry neither falls solely upon the back of a
Latin American government nor upon its citizens. Like the multiple levels of the institution found in
nations, accountability can be divided into three tiers: vertical, horizontal, and social. With concerns to
drug trafficking, vertical and social accountability best reflect who and what bears political and social
responsibility for the violence associated with the illegal drug trafficking business. Both the state and
portions of the populace interact with this industry on a daily basis. In the favelas (illegal shanty
towns) of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, drug trafficking has not only established itself as the leading
economic industry in that geographic region but has dramatically affected the social character of the
favelas inhabitants through the adoption of a strong drug culture. The democratic regime found in
Brazil has proven unable to stamp out both the illegal

Economic Policies Of El Salvador And Other Nations Essay
Dollarization: A Comparison of Economic Policies in El Salvador and Other Nations Dollarization is
the process in which nations replace their domestic currencies [with foreign legal tender] ...to obtain
economic growth and stability (Rivera Solis 330). The US dollar is the most common choice of
exchange in this practice, though the adoption of other first world states currencies may be entertained
as well. Though its effects are not instant, US dollarization has brought many gradual benefits to the
economic statuses of several countries. There are two types of dollarization: official and unofficial. In
the process of official dollarization, a state gives complete monetary control to a foreign nation,
ceding its right to both create a central bank and issue a domestic form of currency. Where as a nation
loses its sovereignty to make decisions concerning its money supply in official dollarization, unofficial
dollarization allows states to keep most of its control in place. Nations who implement dollarization
unofficially keep their ability to own a central bank to fall back on, in cases of economic emergency,
and regulate their own currency. Some studies encourage the promotion of official dollarization, while
other scorn it s outcome and option for its slighter counterpart, partial dollarization, instead. This
paper explores the differences in both policies and the effects of dollarization on four separate nations:
El Salvador, Panama, Zimbabwe, and the British Virgin

Love s Path Personal Narrative
They say it is better to have loved and lost, than to have never loved at all. Those words are not
comforting to me. But, I love you Deborah, he says as we sit on the couch in my basement, his voice
shaky, and uncertain. He looks into my eyes as if pleading, no, begging for forgiveness. I don t
recognize these eyes that once provided me with happiness, security, and comfort. These eyes used to
reassure me that indeed he did used to love me. It hurts to look into them; I turn away.
His face was just a blur, as tears collected, clouded my eyes and trailed down my cheeks until I could
taste them. My mind has conflicting thoughts. Forgive him. Don t forgive him. Say I love you. Don t

We had been going out for nine months and five days (not that I had been counting). It doesn t seem

that all away. Thinking of everything that he told me, he said he would never leave or deceive me. Our
love was gone . That returns me from the distant memory to the present like a slap in the face. Please,
I m sorry he says begging. I ask him to leave. He gets up from the couch to leave. Am I making a
mistake? Maybe it can work out? I think and imagine his arms around me, hugging me, holding me
tight. I couldn t bear. The pain in my heart feels too strong to endure. I have to stop myself from
calling, running after him.
My cries turn into hysterics. I am angry. I feel so much pain, like I just got shot down, the bullets
piercing through my soul. I feel so alone. For days I cried myself to sleep; in the morning when I
woke up people asked me how I felt, but I lied convincingly because I did not want to reveal the fact
that I was suffering.
Even weeks after the breakup, I would jump up when I heard the phone ringing, thinking it was him.
When I received a page or a voicemail, a chill of hope would run down my spine. One night, while I

What Is Statistics
Statistics can be defined as the science that deals with the collection, classification, analysis, and
interpretation of numerical facts of data, and that, by use of mathematical theories of probability,
imposes order and regularity on aggregates of more or less disparate elements (Dictionary.com, LLC,
2008). Yet how do we use these specific elements in our everyday working lives? Many don t realize
the extent to which we as a culture base our decisions on statistics. We us them in something as small
as predicting the outcome of a game or number of points that a team will score. Statistics surrounds us
in many ways and in many forms. As the American Statistical Association president Jon Kettenring
stated, I like to think of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Yet when it came closer and more information was pulled they realized that this statistical information
was indeed inaccurate and did not provide enough data to see the true statistics on Clemens. They
noted that to be accurate they needed to look at all of the athletes that have as successful as Clemens
not just in the same age bracket. When looking at this particular information they noted that indeed
Clemens was irregular and did not fit the mold of the normal athlete not using performance enhancing
drugs. This shows that with inaccurate and inadequate information that the wrong conclusion can be
made. (Knowledge@Wharton, 2008) Just seeing this information makes you realize the importance of
collecting information for correct statistical analysis. When researching statistics you can also see that
there is much relying on the statistical analysis s that are made. With that we see that we must set
standards for researching and making statistical analyses. First and foremost the information must be
suited to its purpose. Going along with that there are a total of 5 more areas that one must check when
submitting statistical information, info must be as accurate as possible, information must be as fresh as
possible, information must be readily accessible, information must be comparable internationally and
overtime, as well as statistics shall be consistent and as uniform as possible. (Statistics Finland, 2005)

Motown Sound Research Paper
Most music aficionados credit Marvin Gaye, a popular American singer, songwriter, and record
producer in the 1960s, with developing the Motown Sound. ( Motown Sound was a phrase coined by
the Motown record label. The phrase was trademarked and formed the basis of a new genre of music;
in fact, the genre was referred to as Motown because the Motown record label produced the majority
of songs that created the new genre). The Motown Sound is characterized by tambourines, which
accented the backbeat, as well as electric bass guitar lines, call and response singing style, which
originated from gospel music, and charted horn sections. (Chin 1). Before his death in 1984, Gaye
recorded many songs that contributed to the Motown Sound. In 1969,

The Demand And Supply Model
Part A: The demand and supply model is the representation of the demand in comparison with the
effects on the price of the product or the service, the demand and supply model is the backbone of
economic analysis and involves the measure of price elasticity and the shifts/ demands these events
cause to the demand and supply and the effects on substitutes and compliments of the good or service
as well as finding price and supply equilibrium. The particular article explores the excess demand of
chocolate and the possible increase of prices in order to try decrease demand. After applying the
demand and supply model to the article it suggests that there is only a slight decrease in demand due
to price increase and suggests that this would have an impact on compliments whilst having a small
positive impact on substitutes. This analysis is important as the effects of prices on chocolate will
possibly have a major impact on the economy. The article is about the excess demand of chocolate and
the demand outstripping the supply and producing less than the world eats, the decrease in supply is
said to be caused by factors including dry weather and a fungal disease in Ghana where almost 70% of
the cocoa is produced. In further economic analysis the law of demand states that the demand of a
good and service are inversely related. When the price of a product increases, the demand for the
product will fall. The determination of supply is: production cost, firm s expectation about

Benefits Of The File Sharing Technology
The technology in nineteenth century is referred to the practical arts used to create physical products
everything from wagon to steam engine. But in twentieth century the word was expanded to include
everything involved in satisfying human material wants. In this we can see the concepts and
significance of the technology, how the technology emerged, what is the internal process of
technology, and classification of technology. For this term project I would like to talk about the file
sharing technology. There are many advantages of the file sharing technology, when compare to the
past years it provides many services like cloud and internet services that we can use in terms of our
work, and make it easier for the studies.
CONCEPT DEFINITION OF TECHNOLOGY:
Technology is a Greek word where techno means systematic skill needed to make something.
Technology means discussion or knowledge of something. With various definitions technology it also
means a systematic skilled knowledge action. Usually used in industrial process, but it is applicable to
any process of activity. Technology can be defined as the sum of knowledge which allows things to be
done in a better way. Technology is the technical means people use to improve their surroundings. It is
people using knowledge, tools, and systems to make their lives easier and better. It is the process by
which humans modify nature to meet their needs wants.
Out of many technologies I would like to choose File Sharing

Islamic State Of Iraq And Al Sham ( Isis )
What Are ISIS Intentions?
This assignment is a qualitative study about Islamic State of Iraq and al Sham (ISIS). What it ISIS?
Where does it come from? What are its intentions? These questions seem to be simple but can be
misrepresenting. According to Schmitt, Major General Nagata, the Special Operations commander for
the U.S. in the Middle East, admitted that that he had barely begun figuring out the Islamic State?s
appeal. ?We have not defeated the idea,? he said. ?We do not even understand the idea.? In the past
year, President Obama has referred to the Islamic State as ?not Islamic? and as al Qaeda?s second
team statements that reflected confusion about the group, and may have contributed to significant
strategic errors (Schmitt, 2014).
Since summer of 2010, ISIS seized Mosul, Iraq and ruled an area larger than the United Kingdom.
According to Wood, Abu Bakr al Baghdadi has been known as the leader, who delivered a Ramadan
sermon to upgrade his resolution from hunted guerrilla to commander of all Muslims in summer 2014
(Wood, 2015). Baghdadi has spoken on camera only once, but he has sent online videos and
encyclicals to supporters who have toiled mightily to make their project knowable. These online
resources reject peace and hunger for slaughter. ISIS religious views make it constitutionally
incapable of certain types of change and it considers itself a precursor in the coming end of the world.

European Colonization Of Europeans And Native Americans
After Columbus sailed the blue ocean in fourteen hundred ninety two, the New World encountered
catastrophic epidemics from the European conquest. The spread of diseases between Europeans and
Native Americans led to a demographic calamity. The earliest explorations from European countries
introduced a plethora of diseases; these diseases hindered the Native s population and way of life. Not
only early explorations of European countries impacted the indigenous people, but the settlement and
encounters with Europeans in the twentieth century did as well. Before Europeans voyaged to the New
World, the lands were occupied by Native Americans for thousands of years, but Europeans for
centuries regarded themselves as the first to discover the Americas. Relations between the Native
Americans and Europeans were often difficult. The Europeans saw the natives as savage heathens to
be Christianized, and considered the land unexploited and ripe for colonization. The Italian explorer
Christopher Columbus opened the way for European exploration of the New World. During
Christopher Columbus s (1451 1506) voyages to the Western Hemisphere, the monarchs of Western
European nations sent explorers seeking a faster, more direct passage to Asia. Although these
explorers failed in this mission, they helped map out a rich land for Europeans to control and colonize.
English exploration was different from Spain, Portugal, and France. The English merchants had a
huge role in English exploration

Portable electric power tools came in a wide range of sizes, prices, and qualities. Principal products
were saws (circular, reciprocating, sabre, or jig); drills (corded or cordless, regular or hammer); and
sanders (disc, orbital, belt, or combined sander/grinders). Other products included routers, planes, roto

A typical company product line consisted of about 200 tools plus accessories, for which a variety of
sizes and price points were available. The portable power tool market was becoming increasingly
segmented by price point. Circular saws, for example, ranged in price from $24.99 to

durability, horsepower, and other product features. A typical manufacturer had 15 models.

Animal exploitation has been going on forever and still is present. Numerous amounts of individuals
are causing the animals to suffer just for their own advantage and benefit. People don t realise how
much hardships these animals are put through just for a meal, entertainment, clothing, captivity, etc.
These animals go through this yet it can replaced with something other than animals. You can eat other
things other than an pig, cow, lamb, etc, and still have all the nutrients, and protein that those meats
consist, also your kids are getting unnecessary hormones and all these chemicals due to farmers

Circus animals are put through huge mental stress, and pressure their whole life, as they are usually

Nail Polish Personal Statement
Whenever people ask me what I want to do in life, I always brace myself for the confused stares I

company. This aspiration as often seen as not only an obscure one, but also one of muted ambition.
People are generally confused sheerly by how niche it is. Nevertheless, I feel that I have been
preparing for this throughout my whole high school career in regards to my extracurricular. Having six

secondary education. From an early age, I always had a fascination with the world of nail polish. As a

mother for her manicure appointments was always a special treat that brought me an unfathomable

The Great Recession And The American Dream
The so called American Dream has fascinated millions of people ever since its common usage began
in the 20th century. There is no reason it should not. The idea of entering a good career, having a
family, and buying a house is, in a word, ideal to most people. However, as life has carried on, more
and more people have come to believe that the American Dream is simply impossible. Even the
famous writers F. Scott Fitzgerald and Arthur Miller argued in their respective works The Great
Gatsby and All My Sons that the American Dream is just a figment of hope and imagination. This
belief is becoming prominent in Millennials. After the Great Recession and numerous economic
fluxes, Millenials appear to have lost interest in the American Dream, particularly in owning a home.
While the American Dream is beautiful and quaint, the current economy, work force, and fundamental
values surrounding it cause Millennials to cement it in a coffin as just that: a dream with a different
and possibly brighter reality. When analyzing the change in opinion on the American Dream, looking
at the current economy is inevitable. The current economic state has been greatly impacted by what is
known as The Great Recession . The Great Recession lasted from December 2007 to June 2009,
beginning with the loss of an 8 trillion dollar housing market, which led to a cut in consumer
spending, financial market chaos, and a collapse in business investment (State of Working America).

Persuasive Essay On Michelle Obama
The one leader s commitment to the field of healthcare I would estimate on is Michelle Obama.
Michel would characterize her administration style as the First Lady of the United States, by utilizing
her position in people, in the generals eye to address the issue of adolescence obesity. Her program Let

Today, 33% of all kids in the United States are overweight and will probably confront diabetes or
other obesity related medical issues later in their lives. The First Lady requested that Americans
consider how national uses on weight related conditions, at present about $190 billion every year, will
increase if the condition of the country s wellbeing doesn t change. The Let s Move! program was
intended to handle the issue by instructing parents; establishing access to nutritious, moderate
nourishment; providing healthy foods in schools; and urging children to be all the more physically
active. The program started to see improvements in the spring of 2014, when the Center for Disease
Control detailed a 43% drop in rates of obesity among 2 to 5 year olds (Retrieved May 18, 2017 from,

leader, in healthcare services administrations and earlier periods, is the way by which to alter three
fundamental segments of the relationship to pass on regarding successfully and sensibly:

The Higgs Boson.
The Higgs boson is the particle that gives weight to other particles. The Higgs Boson is a particle
within the standard Model of physics. It creates weight by interacting with other particles; the more it
interacts, the heavier it is. We have a tendency to consider mass as ingrained importance of all things,
however the majority of physicists consider that without the Higgs boson, mass fundamentally doesn t
exist. Without the higgs boson nothing would exist, this is due to the fact that everything has mass,
even miniscule molecules weigh something. The Higgs Boson is not heavy itself(as it is a particle
particles are profoundly diminutive) but depending how much it interacts with the particles around it,
determines how heavy the particles within the higgs field is. This was all a theory since 1964 until
scientists at CERN used the Large Hadron Collider(LHC) to find the theory of the Higgs Boson to be
a real particle. The particle decays almost instantaneously so scientists at CERN are trying to slow
down the process of decay and evaluate the process. We have a tendency to consider mass as ingrained
importance of all things, however the majority of physicists consider that without the Higgs boson,
mass fundamentally doesn t exist. There are 17 particles within the standard model of physics.
Fundamental particles are the components of matter, called fermions. Bosons are the particles that
create interactions. There are twelve dubbed fermions, therefore

Bourdieu Habitus Concept
Introduction The French sociologist Pierre Bourdieu approaches the concept of power using a similar
concept with Foucault which they presume that power is that there are always structures that are
formed by human relationships which dictates how people should behave. These structures influence
the individual social life. However, Foucault criticized that he has concept that is radical and broader
making it difficult to identify any social context of where the action of exercise of power occurs
(Gaventa, 2003). Unlike Bourdieu who narrows down it in terms of symbolically mediated interaction
between the Habitus and social structure (Bourdieu, 1991). Culture is example of this symbolic
interaction. The main aim of the essay is to first define culture. Secondly, define what Habitus is and
explain how it develops through cultural capital. Furthermore, explain how is subject to change.
Moreover the essay will link concept Habitus to socio spatial dialect relationship. Also providing

Both Views on Criminal Disenfranchisement
The American Constitution, as outlined in the Preamble, boldly defines its purpose as We the People
(U.S. Constitution). Reasonableness suggests that the framers of the Constitution would provide
appropriate legislation enhancing the citizenship s right to actively participate in government via
public elections given such a definitive statement expanding on the power of the people. However,
American citizens do not possess a constitutionally protected right to vote. During the drafting period
of the Constitution, only white male property owners could vote, however, voting rights have
drastically changed throughout the history of the United States. Through amendments passed over the
past two centuries, the Constitution has changed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Criminal disenfranchisement, while currently upheld by Supreme Court review, has a growing base of
supporters for the overturning of such exclusionary practices. In fact, according to a recent study, the
majority of the mass public, between 52 and 80 percent depending on the crime committed, vastly
supports the re enfranchisement of previously convicted felons not currently imprisoned (Manza,
Brooks, Uggen, 2003). State laws restricting the rights of a convicted felon to vote, even after
completing a penal sentence remain inconsistent, at best. The disparity between the states application
of the varying degrees of criminal disenfranchisement raises concerns over the validity of the actions
when affecting a federal voting right; the ability to vote in a federal election is being mandated by the
states, without direction, structure or federal oversight. When the Constitution was written, only white
male property owners (about 10 to 16 percent of the nation s population) had the right to vote (Crews,
2007). While over the past two centuries the perseverance and machinations of checks and balances of
power within the government have transformed the United States into a government by the people,
criminal disenfranchisement penalties remain vastly unchanged until recently due to power entrusted
to each state to govern its people. By the onset of the Civil War

Essay An Analysis Of The Jungle By Upton Sinclair
In the early 1900 s life for America s new Chicago immigrant workers in the meat packing industry
was explored by Upton Sinclair s novel The Jungle. Originally published in 1904 as a serial piece in
the socialist newspaper Appeal to Reason, Sinclair s novel was initially found too graphic and
shocking by publishing firms and therefore was not published in its complete form until 1906. In this
paper, I will focus on the challenges faced by a newly immigrated worker and on what I feel Sinclair s
purpose was for this novel. In the early 1900 s a newly arrived immigrant worker faced numerous
challenges that had to be overcome. Often times literally arriving with the clothes on their back and a
few meager dollars, it was crucial for these ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While not all of these examples have a direct monetary impact, each of the dealings associated with
them does which in turn motivates the parties involved to make decisions and perform actions outside
the normal scope for their character. The third challenge faced by new immigrants was acquiring and
then keeping steady work. Although the Packingtown in Chicago was in a constant state of activity,
the sheer number of available workers and the rule of supply and demand made it difficult for some to
find work. It was not uncommon for some workers to stand at the plant doors for weeks before being
selected. And once a person was chosen to be a worker, they had to labor at a fever pitch to make sure
they were retained. That being said, the worker s problems did not end once they found steady
employment. Employers were harsh and unforgiving in how they treated their employees. For
example, if an employee was one minute late they were penalized an hours pay. If they were 20
minutes late they forfeited their employment. Worse yet, if they were injured or hurt on the job the
company takes no responsibility and the worker is forced to recuperate on their own time without pay

Island Fox Research Paper
Introduction
The island foxes (Urocyon littoralis) are a unique species of small carnivores that only live on the
Channel Islands located off the coast of Southern California. The island fox is about 12 inches high,
weights 2.5 to 6 pounds, and has a grizzled gray hair color along the top of the head and back. Along
the abdomen, neck and legs it has a more cinnamon coloring, and white along the cheeks and throat to
the chest (Friends of the Island Fox, 2012). According to Levy (2010) Island foxes are a keystone
species. They play a powerful role in controlling various prey species in the island ecosystem
including the island spotted skunk, deer mouse, and black rat populations. The California Channel
Islands consist of eight islands and on ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
According to Clifford et al., The total population for the species in 1994 was approximately 6,000
adults but current population size is less than half that, and island foxes have declined by over 90% on
four of six islands (p. 442). By 1995 ecological monitoring on San Miguel and Santa Cruz Islands in
the national park had detected rapid and alarming declines in the populations of island foxes there
Faced with the imminent extinction of three island fox subspecies, NPS convened ad hoc recovery
team in 1999 to assess the status on the northern Channel Islands and to recommend emergency
recovery actions. The team, comprising experts in canid conservation, endangered species
management, and raptor research and management, concluded that island foxes were rapidly declining
toward extinction on the northern Channel Islands. National Park began emergency recovery actions
in 1999, with the objectives being to remove the primary mortality factor now affecting island foxes,
and to recover island fox populations to viable levels through captive breeding. On the Channel
Islands, the golden eagle predation had been confirmed as the primary mortality

Hennessey Venom Analysis
Death is inevitable for everyone. We all grow at different rates and grow up to look and feel different.
In 2015, the average age of death was 80 years old. This makes a person think on what she should do
before there life ends. Death is a surprise, and we never know when the last day is for anyone. The
biggest question that comes to arise is what would you do if you knew the next day was your last? If I
knew the next day was my last day to live, I would sky dive in a squirrel suit and drag race in a
Hennessey Venom GT. Since the first day I went on a roller coaster, I knew I always enjoyed being up
high and the feeling in my stomach and heart where I feel the world stops for a moment. I have been
on many rides and enjoy going

The Problem Of Blossoms Service Quality
Analyse the problem of Blossoms service quality And its solutions
1. Introduction
Blossoms Garden Centre is a gardening business which was established in the mid 1960 s in Glasgow
and expanded with diversified products and services after 1990 (PMM, 2015). Due to the revival of
gardening as a key feature after the Second World War in the UK, a great reputation had obtained by
its knowledgeable staff, wide range of the plants and minor competition in the local market at the
beginning. Numerous larger chains emerged with diverse facilities and products followed by the
market changes in order to gather benefits. For the sake of survival, Sales, Cafeteria, and the Hire
Branch were developed by Blossoms for additional services with a series of loans (ibid). However,
some problems have arisen as a result of the falling profit from £507,579(2013) to £386,952(2014) in
the process of its development. Based on the feedback of the customer and the staff, the main problem
for this business is the downgrade quality of customer service. This essay aims to investigate and
search for solutions for this problem. It begins by the causes of this problem and then critically
examines the solutions which could be divided into two parts: staff motivation and operations
management. Finally, some recommendations could be provided for this enterprise.
2. Causes for Blossoms Recession
There are two causes for the downturn of Blossoms service quality: financial pressure and ineffective
management.

Mussolini Fascism Analysis
The popularity of Mussolini s fascism among returning veterans was not only because of the
comradery that Mussolini shared with them, but also the role that veterans played in fascismo. Welk
(1938, 8 9), notes a publication in which, Mussolini campaigned for the right of returned soldiers to
lead Italy towards becoming a great nation and a new world power. In order to understand how
powerful this image was, it is important to understand the Post war Italian economy. Though Italy had
claimed victory in 1918, it came at the cost of the lives of approximately 600 thousand Italian soldiers,
and nearly everyone in Italy outside of war profiteers exited the war more impoverished. Particularly,
the transition from war to peace time production was a slow and painful process. Thus, while Italy
claimed military victory, the post war economy was not only crippled but also disorganized. This left
laborers eager to lend their ears to a solution, and two powerful but contrasting ideologies to vie for
their support. The first to consider is Communism. A year before, communism had claimed an
important victory in the Russian revolution of 1917. The decisive victory of the Russian proletariat in
Welk s (1938, 9 11) opinion provoked Italian communists to encourage the same in Italy. The
following years were characterized by strikes, and worker s seizing the means of production, as the
working class attempted to seize power throughout the nation. One notable example occurred on April
10, 1919,

Zachary Taylor Inaugural Address
Zachary Taylor became the 12th president of the United States in 1849. He served in office for until
1850, 16 months after becoming president, since he died in office from a gastrointestinal condition
(Editors). Taylor was a great nominee for president because he appealed to the North and the South.
The North respected his long military history, while in the South, he was popular for owning slaves.
The reason for the Inaugural Address is for the new president to establish what he believes in and the
tasks he will complete for the country. The dialect of President Taylor s Inaugural Address is simple,
since he was not the best student. Instead of going into law and furthering his education, he chose to
go into the military.

In the Inaugural Address, Mr. Taylor wanted to secure encouragement and protection to the great
interests of agriculture, commerce, and manufactures, this would reduce the public debt. Commerce
would help improve the rivers and harbors as well.
Zachary Taylor refers to President George Washington multiple times. He alludes to Washington s
farewell address when he states how Washington wanted us to abstain from entangling alliances with
foreign nations. Washington was also mentioned as the Father of his Country. He sees Washington as a
patriot and a role model. Taylor would see Washington as a role model since he is known as a national
war hero for his battles in the Mexican War (Editors).
President Taylor only alludes to God once at the end of his speech. This is different from the founding
presidents because their speeches mentioned God numerous times. Zachary Taylor s short presidency
foreshadowed the Civil War. In February of 1850, Southern leaders threatened secession and Taylor s
response was that it was an act of rebellion against the Union, he would hang ... with less reluctance

How Does Lee Show Real Courage In To Kill A Mockingbird
In the novel To Kill a Mockingbird, by Harper Lee, the message of courage is significant. This is due
to the many characters that express courage in the novel through many events. The courage that they
display is different compared to the dictionary definition of facing against dangers. The novel
demonstrates how courage can be expressed through a variety of ways and no matter how subtle an act
of courage may be it can make a difference in many ways. This courage gives them their strength and
deepen their self understanding as the novel progresses. Although the characters Atticus Finch and
Jeremy Finch do not demonstrate their courage through big dangers, they demonstrate real courage by
persevering through abrupt challenges by having moral integrity and strength which results in the
explanation of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Courage in the novel is shown to be different compared to the dictionary definition of courage. As
Atticus says it, courage is when you know you re licked before you begin but you begin anyways and
you see it through no matter what (Lee 149). Atticus explains here that real courage is not physical and
heroic like facing down a mad dog, but it is the mental decision and moral values in doing so. Without
mental and emotional fortitude, it is impossible to demonstrate courage when it is most needed. It
takes a moral integrity and strength, and a willingness to do so to show real courage. This is how real
courage is distinguished from the typical definition of courage which usually talks about withstanding
danger. Such as for Atticus, facing challenges with the odds going against him in the trial and for Jem,
defending Atticus even with him telling him not to. Both are tremendous examples of true courage that
help classify characters that are courageous. Overall, the message of real courage in the novel is
developed from what the characters have done to prove themselves

Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A chemical change is a change that alters the identity of a substance. A chemical change can be identified by five things: change in mass, formation of a precipitate, release of heat and/or light, color change, or giving off gas. Physical changes occurred in four out of the eight experiments completed in this lab. The first was experiment one, the salt and water. The salt was added to water but when the water evaporated the salt remained. The water changed to the vapor form of water and the salt did not change. The second was experiment two, the candle. When the candle was lit the heat given off from the fire melted the wax beneath it. Melting is a physical change because the liquid wax is still wax, its usual form is just a solid. Experiment four dealt with ripping paper. This was a physical change because, although the paper was being ripped apart, it was (and still is) paper. The smaller pieces did not change the mass or any other factor of it except the surface area of each piece. Experiment seven dealt with vinegar being added to milk. The vinegar did not change but the milk was curdled by the vinegar. Although the milk was curdled, the milk remained milk. The composition stayed the same. Each of these experiments showed no change in a substance so as it changed to another substance. Chemical changes occurred in five out of the eight experiments completed in this lab. • 3. Arthur Dimmesdale In The Scarlet Letter According to Plautus, an ancient roman philosopher, Nothing is more wretched than a guilty conscience . Throughout the course of The Scarlet Letter, Nathanial Hawthorne seems to further attest to this idea by illustrating the effects of living under the weight of a guilty mind through the life of Arthur Dimmesdale. Dimmesdale commits adultery, a crime that is usually punished by death, before the novel even beings. Due to his high rank in the community, he decides to save his image and keep this mistake a secret. By not coming forward with the other accused sinner to confess their crimes, he is forced to live out the rest of his days followed by the shadow of his sin Due to the fact that his underlying guilt gets progressively worse as each ... Chillingworth regularly questions Dimmesdale along the lines of, wouldst thou have me to believe...that a false show can be better...than God s own truth? (129). Technology based sharing economy is the community based online services that sharing the access to goods and services based on peer to peer mode (Hamari, Sjöklint Ukkonen, 2015). The widespread of mobile tablets and advanced payment ways motivate the advent of the technology based sharing economy like Airbnb and Uber. The sharing economy nowadays is just a reengineered consumption model consists of old processes and digital technologies (Sundararajan, 2013). In other words, digital technologies are the powerful enablers for the rising of sharing economy. Sharing economy opens a new door for the whole world, however, there remains some obstinate problems and one significant issue is the fuzzy regulations. One news reported that NSW ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The fuzzy regulation s promoting the development of sharing economy not only brings impressive benefits but also causes serious problems. 1.Impact on society Merits 1)Create further sustainable society. The fuzzy regulations provide a suitable growing environment for sharing economy performers such as Airbnb and Uber. The application of Uber takes full advantage of cars not only relieve the congestion but also cuts emissions, which benefits the sustainability of society. 2)Boost economy for some cities. One study found that 14% of Airbnb customer would not visit a city without Airbnb (Heinrichs, 2013). As Airbnb rental is cheaper than hotel services, people tend to travel with Airbnb, which also promote the tourism in these cities. Demerits 1)Hidden danger caused by fuzzy rules. There remain no clear rules to regulate the peer to peer business, which will cause great danger. If a car accident occurs to Uber driver, who should take the responsibility, the driver, the passenger, or Uber whereas Uber may just claim that it just is a communication platform for car pooling service. Therefore, clear and corresponding rules should be applied to avoid such flaws. 2)Uncertain service quality. As the emerging of Airbnb and Uber, there are blurred boundaries between personal and professional services (Malhotra Alstyne, 2014). To what extent, the service quality is affected. • 5. Japan s Defeat During World War II Essay Masaru Ibuka founded Sony Corporation in the aftermath of Japan s defeat during World War II (IJ 106). Following the company s startup, Ibuka urged Akio Morita, a navy technical lieutenant in thermos optical weapons, to come to Tokyo and join him in the start up of his new business venture (IJ 106). In May 1946, Sony Corporation was officially established as Tokyo Tsushin Kogyo Kabushiki Kaisha (Kabushiki Kaisha), a joint stock company (SE1). From the start Ibuka and Morita were determined to develop a global market for their products (Global 50). During the early 1950 s Japanese products suffered from the public perception of their poor quality as compared to products made in the United States (IJ 106). Morita reasoned that if Sony was going to enter into the manufacturing and sales of electronic equipment, it was necessary to establish a market presence in the United States (IJ 107). Thus in 1952, Morita decided to traveled to the United States in order to examine how US companies manufactured and marketed tape recorders as well as to examine potential market opportunities for Totsuken exports (IJ 107) At the time, Western Electric had recently made the patent rights for manufacturing a transistor (which was invented in 1948 at AT T s Bell Laboratories) available to anyone who would pay royalties. Ibuka s desire to effectively use the diverse strengths of his engineering and specialist talent would ultimately influence his decision to have Totsuko work on the ... • 6. Political And Social Responsibility Of Illegal Drug... The illegal drug trafficking found throughout Latin America is not an issue that can be solved by either a government or an individual alone. Unfortunately, it is also an issue that requires more than one solution in order to solve the problem. Each Latin American state is unique, as are the various citizens who inhabit them. As drug trafficking is a transnational force, Latin American governments often find themselves not only at odds with one another, but with larger political and economic powers such as the United States (U.S.). In addition, how many of these states have decided to address the illegal drug trafficking business, often through the use of armed force, have put them at odds with their respective citizens. Despite the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Citizens may begin to question who controls the monopoly of force, who is extracting revenues (taxes), and have resources been diverted from public goods in an effort to improve security. Ultimately, when a Latin American nation proves unsuccessful in eliminating the illegal drug trafficking industry, it calls into question who and what bears political and social responsibility for this industry. Accountability for the illegal drug trafficking industry neither falls solely upon the back of a Latin American government nor upon its citizens. Like the multiple levels of the institution found in nations, accountability can be divided into three tiers: vertical, horizontal, and social. With concerns to drug trafficking, vertical and social accountability best reflect who and what bears political and social responsibility for the violence associated with the illegal drug trafficking business. Both the state and portions of the populace interact with this industry on a daily basis. In the favelas (illegal shanty towns) of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, drug trafficking has not only established itself as the leading economic industry in that geographic region but has dramatically affected the social character of the favelas inhabitants through the adoption of a strong drug culture. • 7. Economic Policies Of El Salvador And Other Nations Essay Dollarization: A Comparison of Economic Policies in El Salvador and Other Nations Dollarization is the process in which nations replace their domestic currencies [with foreign legal tender] ...to obtain economic growth and stability (Rivera Solis 330). The US dollar is the most common choice of exchange in this practice, though the adoption of other first world states currencies may be entertained as well. Though its effects are not instant, US dollarization has brought many gradual benefits to the economic statuses of several countries. There are two types of dollarization: official and unofficial. In the process of official dollarization, a state gives complete monetary control to a foreign nation, ceding its right to both create a central bank and issue a domestic form of currency. Where as a nation loses its sovereignty to make decisions concerning its money supply in official dollarization, unofficial dollarization allows states to keep most of its control in place. Nations who implement dollarization unofficially keep their ability to own a central bank to fall back on, in cases of economic emergency, and regulate their own currency. Some studies encourage the promotion of official dollarization, while other scorn it s outcome and option for its slighter counterpart, partial dollarization, instead. This paper explores the differences in both policies and the effects of dollarization on four separate nations: El Salvador, Panama, Zimbabwe, and the British Virgin ... • 10. What Is Statistics Statistics can be defined as the science that deals with the collection, classification, analysis, and interpretation of numerical facts of data, and that, by use of mathematical theories of probability, imposes order and regularity on aggregates of more or less disparate elements (Dictionary.com, LLC, 2008). Yet how do we use these specific elements in our everyday working lives? Many don t realize the extent to which we as a culture base our decisions on statistics. We us them in something as small as predicting the outcome of a game or number of points that a team will score. Statistics surrounds us in many ways and in many forms. They noted that to be accurate they needed to look at all of the athletes that have as successful as Clemens not just in the same age bracket. When looking at this particular information they noted that indeed Clemens was irregular and did not fit the mold of the normal athlete not using performance enhancing drugs. This shows that with inaccurate and inadequate information that the wrong conclusion can be made. (Knowledge@Wharton, 2008) Just seeing this information makes you realize the importance of collecting information for correct statistical analysis. When researching statistics you can also see that there is much relying on the statistical analysis s that are made. With that we see that we must set standards for researching and making statistical analyses. First and foremost the information must be suited to its purpose. Going along with that there are a total of 5 more areas that one must check when submitting statistical information, info must be as accurate as possible, information must be as fresh as possible, information must be readily accessible, information must be comparable internationally and overtime, as well as statistics shall be consistent and as uniform as possible. ( Motown Sound was a phrase coined by the Motown record label. The phrase was trademarked and formed the basis of a new genre of music; in fact, the genre was referred to as Motown because the Motown record label produced the majority of songs that created the new genre). The Motown Sound is characterized by tambourines, which accented the backbeat, as well as electric bass guitar lines, call and response singing style, which originated from gospel music, and charted horn sections. • 12. The Demand And Supply Model Part A: The demand and supply model is the representation of the demand in comparison with the effects on the price of the product or the service, the demand and supply model is the backbone of economic analysis and involves the measure of price elasticity and the shifts/ demands these events cause to the demand and supply and the effects on substitutes and compliments of the good or service as well as finding price and supply equilibrium. The particular article explores the excess demand of chocolate and the possible increase of prices in order to try decrease demand. After applying the demand and supply model to the article it suggests that there is only a slight decrease in demand due to price increase and suggests that this would have an impact on compliments whilst having a small positive impact on substitutes. This analysis is important as the effects of prices on chocolate will possibly have a major impact on the economy. The article is about the excess demand of chocolate and the demand outstripping the supply and producing less than the world eats, the decrease in supply is said to be caused by factors including dry weather and a fungal disease in Ghana where almost 70% of the cocoa is produced. In further economic analysis the law of demand states that the demand of a good and service are inversely related. When the price of a product increases, the demand for the product will fall. The determination of supply is: production cost, firm s expectation about ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 13. Benefits Of The File Sharing Technology The technology in nineteenth century is referred to the practical arts used to create physical products everything from wagon to steam engine. But in twentieth century the word was expanded to include everything involved in satisfying human material wants. In this we can see the concepts and significance of the technology, how the technology emerged, what is the internal process of technology, and classification of technology. • 14. Islamic State Of Iraq And Al Sham ( Isis ) What Are ISIS Intentions? This assignment is a qualitative study about Islamic State of Iraq and al Sham (ISIS). What it ISIS? Where does it come from? What are its intentions? These questions seem to be simple but can be misrepresenting. According to Schmitt, Major General Nagata, the Special Operations commander for the U.S. in the Middle East, admitted that that he had barely begun figuring out the Islamic State?s appeal. ?We have not defeated the idea,? he said. ?We do not even understand the idea.? European Colonization Of Europeans And Native Americans After Columbus sailed the blue ocean in fourteen hundred ninety two, the New World encountered catastrophic epidemics from the European conquest. The spread of diseases between Europeans and Native Americans led to a demographic calamity. The earliest explorations from European countries introduced a plethora of diseases; these diseases hindered the Native s population and way of life. Not only early explorations of European countries impacted the indigenous people, but the settlement and encounters with Europeans in the twentieth century did as well. Before Europeans voyaged to the New World, the lands were occupied by Native Americans for thousands of years, but Europeans for centuries regarded themselves as the first to discover the Americas. Relations between the Native Americans and Europeans were often difficult. The Europeans saw the natives as savage heathens to be Christianized, and considered the land unexploited and ripe for colonization. The Italian explorer Christopher Columbus opened the way for European exploration of the New World. During Christopher Columbus s (1451 1506) voyages to the Western Hemisphere, the monarchs of Western European nations sent explorers seeking a faster, more direct passage to Asia. Although these explorers failed in this mission, they helped map out a rich land for Europeans to control and colonize. English exploration was different from Spain, Portugal, and France. There is no reason it should not. The idea of entering a good career, having a family, and buying a house is, in a word, ideal to most people. However, as life has carried on, more and more people have come to believe that the American Dream is simply impossible. Even the famous writers F. Scott Fitzgerald and Arthur Miller argued in their respective works The Great Gatsby and All My Sons that the American Dream is just a figment of hope and imagination. This belief is becoming prominent in Millennials. After the Great Recession and numerous economic fluxes, Millenials appear to have lost interest in the American Dream, particularly in owning a home. The Higgs Boson is a particle within the standard Model of physics. It creates weight by interacting with other particles; the more it interacts, the heavier it is. We have a tendency to consider mass as ingrained importance of all things, however the majority of physicists consider that without the Higgs boson, mass fundamentally doesn t exist. Without the higgs boson nothing would exist, this is due to the fact that everything has mass, even miniscule molecules weigh something. The Higgs Boson is not heavy itself(as it is a particle particles are profoundly diminutive) but depending how much it interacts with the particles around it, determines how heavy the particles within the higgs field is. This was all a theory since 1964 until scientists at CERN used the Large Hadron Collider(LHC) to find the theory of the Higgs Boson to be a real particle. The particle decays almost instantaneously so scientists at CERN are trying to slow down the process of decay and evaluate the process. We have a tendency to consider mass as ingrained importance of all things, however the majority of physicists consider that without the Higgs boson, mass fundamentally doesn t exist. In fact, according to a recent study, the majority of the mass public, between 52 and 80 percent depending on the crime committed, vastly supports the re enfranchisement of previously convicted felons not currently imprisoned (Manza, Brooks, Uggen, 2003). State laws restricting the rights of a convicted felon to vote, even after completing a penal sentence remain inconsistent, at best. The disparity between the states application of the varying degrees of criminal disenfranchisement raises concerns over the validity of the actions when affecting a federal voting right; the ability to vote in a federal election is being mandated by the states, without direction, structure or federal oversight. Mussolini Fascism Analysis The popularity of Mussolini s fascism among returning veterans was not only because of the comradery that Mussolini shared with them, but also the role that veterans played in fascismo. Welk (1938, 8 9), notes a publication in which, Mussolini campaigned for the right of returned soldiers to lead Italy towards becoming a great nation and a new world power. In order to understand how powerful this image was, it is important to understand the Post war Italian economy. Though Italy had claimed victory in 1918, it came at the cost of the lives of approximately 600 thousand Italian soldiers, and nearly everyone in Italy outside of war profiteers exited the war more impoverished. Particularly, the transition from war to peace time production was a slow and painful process. Thus, while Italy claimed military victory, the post war economy was not only crippled but also disorganized. This left laborers eager to lend their ears to a solution, and two powerful but contrasting ideologies to vie for their support. The first to consider is Communism. A year before, communism had claimed an important victory in the Russian revolution of 1917. The decisive victory of the Russian proletariat in Welk s (1938, 9 11) opinion provoked Italian communists to encourage the same in Italy.
