We all have good and bad thoughts from time to time and situation to situation. We are bombarded daily with spiraling thoughts(both negative and positive) creating all-consuming feel , making us difficult to manage with associated suffering. Good thoughts are like our Mob Signal (Positive thought) amidst noise(negative thought) in the atmosphere. Negative thoughts like noise outweigh positive thoughts. These thoughts often create unwanted confusion, trouble, stress and frustration in our mind as well as chaos in our physical world. Negative thoughts are also known as “distorted thinking”.

This is a presentation by Dada Robert in a Your Skill Boost masterclass organised by the Excellence Foundation for South Sudan (EFSS) on Saturday, the 25th and Sunday, the 26th of May 2024.
He discussed the concept of quality improvement, emphasizing its applicability to various aspects of life, including personal, project, and program improvements. He defined quality as doing the right thing at the right time in the right way to achieve the best possible results and discussed the concept of the "gap" between what we know and what we do, and how this gap represents the areas we need to improve. He explained the scientific approach to quality improvement, which involves systematic performance analysis, testing and learning, and implementing change ideas. He also highlighted the importance of client focus and a team approach to quality improvement.

3. My campaign message
The main message for the festival
would be to enjoy all the music that is
there and by going to such an event, it
will feel like taking all the weight off
your shoulders from stress.
Once the festival has finished, they will
start to release the artists for next years
event and this will send a new message
out to the audience so that they can get
them excited for next year.
My festival is going to be very different
to all festivals out there at the moment.
This is because of my big name artists.
I believe that all my artists that are on
my poster front cover are very well
known in both genres of Grime and
R&B.
4. Mind map
Logo names: my festival is going to
be sponsored by my music
magazine Mixer. I am going to keep
it original and follow on from my
music magazine and call the festival
“Mixer Festival”
Mixer Festival Colour scheme: the colour
scheme I am going to
choose will be bright and
exuberant. I am going to
keep it similar to Boomtown
Festival as that is my poster
of inspiration.
Frequency of release: in order for my target
audience to be completely aware and have enough
time to think about whether they want to come to
Mixer Festival. To start off with I am going to release
the main headline acts to start to attract the
audience to my festival. Then over a period of time
start to release the other acts that are going to be
performing at the festival.
Slogan: “Mixing up your festival
experience”. I'm going to use
this slogan because it is catchy
and involves the title of my
poster.
Target Audience: when
talking about the target
audience for the age range,
Wireless would mainly consist
of 16-30 year olds. This is
because the type of artists
that were there are very
modern and are have been
around for the same amount
of time as most people at
Wireless.
5. Target Audience
My target audience will be mainstreamers which comes under the Maslow
theory. This is because these type of people go to the very well known events
and will want to go more often in order to enjoy the experience. This type is
also easily entertained by music that they’re in to and will enjoy it a lot. The
typical age range of these types of events are 16-30 years old, more males
may also appear there because they’re more typically in to grime and R&B
more than the females are.
Alternatively, the socio-economic needs would be C1 to E because a lot of
younger people go to festivals and will not have a high enough ranked job.
This also means that the target audience will have a low spending amount due
to the fact the wont get high enough pay from there current job.
The reasoning behind me having these artists is because it is based around
the type of music I like and also the type of music that is trending right now
and I think having these sort of artists will attract a lot of people to my festival.
7. Hand drawn drafts
Above are my two hand drawn drafts for my print based advertisement. Both of these
ideas are ideas that I put together to base my poster around. I put together two so that I
had a selection of drafts to choose from. I have also chosen two different styles, the left
one being inspired by Wireless and the right one being inspired by Reading.
9. Why we create graphic layouts?
We create graphic layouts because it gives an idea to the
client what the product is going to look like. This gives an
insight to what the up and coming product is going to look
like, what content it is going to hold etc.
You will then be able to see how simple it is going to look
with the layout being clear and will involve things such as
technological convergence through adding the websites
address.
Various bits of advertisements can be shown through little
pieces of extra information at the bottom of the page.
10. Logo design
Devil Breeze by WesLo Fonts
Blackout Sunrise by Tyler Finck
Big Noodle Titling à € by Sentinel Type
As my festival is going to be sponsored by Mixer, I am going to have Mixer within the title
of the festival. Above are three different title ideas I have for the festival posters
masthead. I have decided to have the word “Mixer Festival” in one font as it shows
consistency within the poster. I will aim to show consistency throughout my festival poster
because then it shows that I want my poster to stand out from the rest.
11. Logo design
Devil Breeze by WesLo Fonts
This is the font style I am going to use for my “Mixer Festival” as it brings a different look
to my festival. This will be the main attraction when people are looking at my poster
around local area cities and towns.
12. Photoshoot Plan
The image on the left side of the slide is the two different images before I edited
the two images. I used the opacity tool to reduce the images brightness so that
it fits in with my poster. The first change I made was turning down the opacity of
the lights from 100% to 50%. The second change I made was changing the
opacity of the mask mascot from 100% to 80% so that it wasn't overpowering
my text.
13. Print based advertisement of
inspiration
Target Audience: when talking about the target audience
for the age range, Wireless would mainly consist of 16-30
year olds. This is because the type of artists that were
there are very modern and are have been around for the
same amount of time as most people at Wireless.
The audience will be in categories C2, D and E. This is
because of the ages of artists that appear at Wireless. The
categories involve careers such as being a student,
unemployed, casual worker etc.
Colour scheme: colour scheme is vibrant and attracts
people towards the festival. This allows many people to get
involved by going to the festival and sowing off their
vibrancy that they can offer.
They have the same format throughout the poster, having
the three headline acts at the top of each section. Then
underneath all the other artists including special guests
that are underneath each main artist.
The three dates cut off one from another which allows the
audience to easily read who is on what day.
14. Poster information
Below are a list of artists that are going to be at
Mixer Festival
Grime: Skepta, Stormzy, Dave, AJ Tracey,
Wiley, Chip, Yxng Bane, Lotto Boyz etc.
R&B/Hip Hop: Drake, Travis Scott, Bryson
Tiller, Tory Lanez, Post Malone etc.
The reasoning behind me having these artists is
because it is based around the type of music I
like and also the type of music that is trending
right now and I think having these sort of artists
will attract a lot of people to my festival. These
artists are getting very popular at the moment
through the amount of music they have brought
out and the style of music.
16. Audio visual advertisements
Various videos such as past adverts and videos can be used in order to promote the
festival to the audience. If I were to make an audio visual advertisement it would be
shown on YouTube and throughout the festival on live stream.
The audio visual would have artists such as grime artists like Skepta, Stormzy, Dave, AJ
Tracey, Wiley, Chip, Yxng Bane, Lotto Boyz etc. and R&B/Hip Hop artists like Drake,
Travis Scott, Bryson Tiller, Tory Lanez, Post Malone etc. who are also featured within the
festival poster.
In order for my target audience to be completely aware and have enough time to think
about whether they want to come to Mixer Festival. To start off with I am going to release
the main headline acts to start to attract the audience to my festival, I will release this
news around the new year so that I have enough time to gather more and more artists
and set up meetings with them to discuss fees. Then over a period of time start to
release more and more acts that are going to be performing at the festival with the
festival set to be on the 21st -23rd August.
The colour scheme I am going to choose will be bright and exuberant. I am going to
keep it similar to Boomtown festival as that is my poster of inspiration.

Date of Festival 21st -23rd August
I have chosen this date because a lot of festivals are based around June/July
time and I thought putting it in August would attract a lot more people as there
are only a couple of festivals within the month. Also it is during the peak time of
summer so the weather will be great so that everyone can enjoy the weather as
well as the artists.
18. Location and scheduling of
advertisements
My posters will be located around major cities around the United Kingdom.
This is because Mixer Festival is based in Miami, America and I will want my
festival to be mainly advertised in the major cities around America, for
example, New York City, San Francisco, Los Angeles.
Also I will want my poster to be advertised around the world in the major cities,
for example around the UK in places such as London, Manchester,
Birmingham just to name a few, also the major countries around Europe. This
is because I want to attract as much interest as I possibly can so that everyone
going has the time of there lives having the ability to see there favourite artists
perform live.
The location of Mixer Festival is at Bayfront Park, Miami, Florida. This is
because we have been looking around for the ideal place to host Mixer
Festival and we believe that this is the ideal place for the festival to be held at.
I will also want my festival to be advertised on billboards, at bus stop etc. so
that I can attract as much interest as possible so that everyone can have a
great time at Mixer Festival.
19. Cost of equipment and staff
I am going to need a lot of resources for my new office as it is currently empty. The image
on the right indicates the different pieces of equipment that I am going to need in the
office for the designing and I need all of this stuff so that we can all work. The image on
the left shows the members of staff that I need to get in order for the magazine to be put
together. Next to each equipment and staff it shows how much they are going to cost and
how much they’re going to cost a year on the staffs salary.
20. Risk Assessment
The risks assessments will be based on having medic stands at the
festival so that if anyone passes out due to the heat, if any fights are to
break out and anyone were to get injured. Then having medics
available at the festival would be a great idea so that they can get to
the scene as quick as possible to attend to the person or persons.
21. Legal and Ethical Issues
Copyright
Firstly, there is copyright which comes underneath the legal side. Legal protection is used
so that any original material cannot be used by someone else. However, copyright can
only be applied on the application of the idea but not the idea itself.
Also there is national security which is another legal issue that filmmakers face.
Filmmakers and producers must be aware of laws such as official secrets act 1911 and
the prevention of terrorism act.
Legal and Ethical
Secondly, there is ethical issues such as right and wrong which have to be taken into
account. Exploitation and sensationalism also have to be considered and taken into
account. Offensive material such as privacy and copyright. These are not usually
enforced by law. Regulatory bodies and codes of practice exist often within the industry.

22. Legal and Ethical Issues
continued
Royalties
Royalties is when a magazine has included content which is copyrighted and if someone else
includes this information then they have to pay the original magazine.
If you were to do this without asking permission from the original magazine, you will end up being
fined and they will make sure the magazine is taken down and not sold anymore. You shouldn’t be
using other peoples information or images without there confirmation because it can result in very
serious circumstances.
IP/Watermark
Content that usually has copyright can be referred to as Intellectual Property (IP) and this is protected
by the law. IP can be divided into two categories; Industrial Property and Copyright. As well as IP on
printed work, you can get a digital watermark which protects any copyrighted content from any
magazine online and in any digital format. It is important to have this because it means people will
have to pay you to use your information/ ideas. The best way to protect your IP is to acquire a patent.
However, this can take several years to get and costs over $7000 in fees.
ASA
ASA is the United Kingdoms independent advertising regular. The ASA makes sure that ads across
UK media stick to the advertising rules that are set. When looking at the ASA, it was very important
that I was not going to add anything that became misleading or offensive. I think that I have followed
the rules and regulations that have been put down because there isn't any offensive language or
images on my poster and there isn’t anything stereotypical either that can offend certain people.
23. Budget Summary
The different types of staff salaries will come to a price of £181,500
and the price of all equipment needed will come to a price of
£29,848.23. I will be printing out 200 posters, to go across all bus
stops and billboards, which will come to a cost of £40.00
Billboard advertising costs roughly $1,500 to $4,000 in most of small to
medium sized US cities, although it can dip to as low as $250 and can
run to as high as $14,000 in cities such as New York City.

24. Regulatory Bodies
Accuracy
The Press must take care not to publish inaccurate, misleading or distorted information or
images, including headlines not supported by the text. A significant inaccuracy, misleading
statement or distortion must be corrected, promptly and with due prominence, and — where
appropriate — an apology published. In cases involving IPSO, due prominence should be as
required by the regulator.
Privacy
Everyone is entitled to respect for his or her private and family life, home, health and
correspondence, including digital communications. Editors will be expected to justify intrusions
into any individual's private life without consent. Account will be taken of the complainant's own
public disclosures of information.
Harassment
Journalists must not engage in intimidation, harassment or persistent pursuit. They must not
persist in questioning, telephoning, pursuing or photographing individuals once asked to desist;
nor remain on property when asked to leave and must not follow them. If requested, they must
identify themselves and whom they represent.
