What is print based advertising?
Print media advertising is a form of
advertising that uses physically
printed media such as magazines
and newspapers.
Introduction
Within Unit 15, I will achieve an understanding on
how to produce a print based advert to promote a
festival or a concert. I will analyse how it is used
and what they do in order to promote it. I have
chosen to advertise a festival called Wireless for
my inspiration as I think they use different types
of advertisements that I could analyse for the
poster and media product.
Aims and Objectives
The wireless festival poster was created to
publicize the up and coming festival on July
2016 at Finsbury park in London. It is
promoting the festival by listing each person
that will be performing, it is also promoting
the festival with an appealing background for
example, the poster includes bright and bold
colour’s such as dark pink, blue and purple.
The poster also has used bold fonts which
could be eye catching to the audience. Over
the years the festival have been increasing
their sales so readers will be interested by
the poster as it will produce good quality.
Furthermore this has also increased brand
awareness from the Wireless festival
because they use different types of
advertisements such as posters and adverts
in order to make the festival known and
popular.
Target
Audience For Hartley, the Target Audience for the Wireless
poster of 2016 would be aimed at 16-25 year olds
as the poster has a colourful shapes within the
background and bold writing, meaning it is
advertised at young people and adults. It would
also be aimed at this particular age group
because they might recognise different artists
such as “Ed Sheeran”.
For Psychographics, the poster would fit into the
category of ‘Reformers’ because the audience
would be able to judge if the festival is at a high
standard for multiple audiences.
The target audience would also be fitted into
‘Aspirers’ because it relates to typically younger
people who seek status, therefore they would
enjoy the poster because It is a popular festival
that is well known to the public.
According to the Socio-economic graph, the
target audience for the wireless poster would fit
into the category C because the target audience is
aimed at young people and adults that share
different interests in music. For class, the poster
would fit into the category of ‘young working
students’ as it is targeted at young people that
have work part time jobs.
For Katz, the Wireless poster would fit into the
category of ‘personal identification’ as it would
relate to the readers because the information on
the poster is mainly being produced for young
people, teenagers and young adults.
for Maslow, the wireless poster would fit into the
category of ‘Explorers’ because the readers will
experience different advertisements from the
poster which would encourage them to find out
more information about the festival.

Within Wireless festival, their day ticket prices start from £55.00 on a Friday 2017 and increase if
customers are wanting to stay for 2 or three days. The highest price they charge would be for a 3
day weekend which costs £162.00. Wireless festival have chosen this particular prices because it
would it would be an average price where customers will be able to afford. Furthermore Wireless
festival releases the advertisements and prices as students will be able to save up their money so
they will be able to purchase a ticket.
Representation
There are many people that are interested in different types of festivals all over
the world, specifically young adults and teenagers. This could be because most
festivals attract the most popular artists to perform at the show for people that
want to see them. They can be very popular which most people around the world
seem to know about it which is based on the music genre that is chosen for the
festival. Festivals such as wireless can be a big issue and dangerous if any sort
of violence were to happen, a majority of people could be seriously injured and
this could give the festival a bad reputation and might even become unpopular.
Furthermore festivals can have a positive effect on anyone that would go either
individually or as a group of friends that could possibly have the same interests in
music. Other people may go to festivals for the fashion, for example if they want
to see what kind of clothes artists will be wearing as an inspiration to their own
fashion. The festival appears to many young people both male and females that
are interested in the same type of genres. Overall you would usually see people
wearing different colours and patterns on their faces to represent the festival as a
whole.
Campaign Message
Wireless festivals' unique selling point implies what type of acts are
going to be performing on the selected dates. They have many
different names of each artist that will be performing on each day of
the festival. They have chosen these particular artists because they
are very popular which would mean people would pay to see them
perform. The main message the festival is trying to come across to
anyone that is wanting to go is to enjoy the music and the experience
how people paint themselves on the face and body with the festival by
taking interest in the colours that the festival provides. Wireless festival
is a good way to relax after the stress of work, school or any job you
may have, it also gives you a way to escape from reality and enjoy
yourself. Wireless arranges the festival every august as it is summer
themed. By choosing to advertise the festival on a print based media,
will therefore become known and attractive to consumers by choosing
bright colours and bold fonts. The title of the poster “Wireless” is
written in bold letters to catch the readers attention, they have also
used the colour dark blue in order for it to be the first thing the reader
will notice while looking at the poster. They have written the artist's
names in a pink and light blue colour as people will mainly go to the
festival to see their favourite artist. The whole poster has a range of
different colours in order to attract young people because the music
genre is for young people and adults. On the wireless website, if
provide people with information about when the festival will start and
where it will take place each year. It also has different images from the
festival previously so readers will know what exactly it is like and might
consider going to it.
Sponsorship
Wireless festival has been sponsored through a variety of social
medias for example Facebook and Twitter, they will be updating
customers about the dates and who is going to be performing on
each day, they will also be displaying the ticket prices. On the
festival website, they offer many different types of
advertisements for example Capital radio station.
Legal and Ethical issues
While creating an advertisement for the wireless festival that is located in London, United Kingdom. I had
to consider thinking about the copyright issues I may have to consider looking into during this. The word
copyright means the legal right to be the only person to produce, publish and sell anything on social media
someone has created or bought out to the public to see. This would mean that I will have to make sure that
I receive permission in order to use the names of the artists that are going to be performing at the festival.
By doing this I will be able to make a poster to advertise the festival overall for anyone that would be
interested. Secondly as well as copyright they will have to include intellectual property which is a way to
protect the festival from any sort of copyright, it also protects certain information so no one can access it
without permission or having to pay to get it protected. They could use this in the poster by using
intellectual property so everything will stay protected and will not be used by anyone else unless they have
permission. Lastly they will have to include Royalties where different types of copyright will stand out in the
promotion they are making. For the wireless poster, they use Royalties by asking for permission before
they use anything such as an artist they would like to use in the festival and include their name on the
poster or print based hand out they have created.
Print based Advertisements used in the
Campaign
Wireless Festival will start to release what artists that will be performing at the festival, for example
on their website they have information about the dates with what artist that is going to be
performing that day. They have released more print based advertisements so that people will know
when and where it is going to be taken place. On the website it has information about the
accommodation you can receive while at the festival and what is suitable to bring. The final poster
for wireless 2016 provides the official line up meaning the names of the final artists that are going
to be there. On the poster they also have the artists that are defiantly going in larger fonts and
colours to show people that they are the most popular and an important of the festival. Wireless
festival have advertised the festival on Facebook in order for people to know about the event.
Regulatory Bodies
The ASA, Advertising standards Authority is a UK advertising organisation company that
markets all types of media online. They provide codes that advertise different types of
companies. ASA works on complaints that are made from different people about their
privacy online to make sure that people using social media don’t receive harmful or
offensive advertisements. Their purpose and strategy of the website and the company is
to make different types of public notices that are appropriate for the public eye to ensure
that no one has any offensive comments or concerns about what has been published.
Wireless festival would have to follow this so that the festival will become popular and
known to the public.

Audio Visual Advertisement
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aaEX8D76z7s
Aims and Objectives
The aims and objectives of the Wireless festival first announcement 2016 is to publicize the up and
coming festival. They have done this by creating an audio visual for the public to see where it is a
way for the festival to become known, this will get people talking about the event and would even
consider going to it. The event will be held on July 2016 at Finsbury park London, this is to show
people where the event will be taking place so they can have an idea about what it is going to be like.
At the start of the audio visual you can hear music in the background, the music is very bold and loud
in order to catch the audiences attention. This is because the music is mainly aimed at young people
and young adults as they like popular artists that have become popular over social media. You can
then see different colours and shapes within the video, this is linked to the Wireless posters and
advert seen on social media because Wireless use these shapes and colours to show people that it
is known as wireless festival. It then shows clips of people at the festival which is a good way to show
the audience what the festival is like and what types of people will be going. Near the end of the
video, it starts to name some of the artists that will be performing. This will catch the audiences
attention because they might like some of the artists that are shown. Overall the total aims and
objectives for the wireless festival audio visual advertisement is to get different people interested
about the festival. they use bright and bold colours with a bold font in big letters in order to catch their
attention, they do this in order to attract young people and adults that might consider going with their
friends. The bold letters and choice of font will attract people as the festival uses different styles in
order to attract different audiences.
Method
Wireless festival is located in London United
kingdom, the festival advertises it through social
media which will keep viewers updated with the
dates of the festival and the line up where it will
be displayed heading up to the festival. Wireless
have used social medias such as twitter and
Facebook. The festival have chosen for the
event to be in the summer term when people will
be expecting different types of adverts, posters
to be released. This will make the audience
aware of the tickets prices at this time so they
will be able to see what artists are going to be
performing. This will encourage the audience to
talk about the event and would convince their
friends into going with them where they would
experience the different types of music genres.
The posters and adverts will also feature
information about the event on the website
where it has the festival dates and who will be
performing each day. If you go on the website
and scroll down to the very bottom, it provides
you with the line up and information about the
festival, posters of the festival, press page,
partners page, Evictions policy, terms and
conditions and privacy. They also advertise the
festival on radio stations and magazines so the
audience will be talking about it as it is a known
and popular event each year.
Target Audience
The target audience for wireless 2016 audio visual would attract young people and young adults within the
ages of 16-25 as people that are older or younger than these ages would either not be interested as the
festival is loud and so many people will be around you or for children it wouldn't be a very appropriate. For
psychographics, the poster would fit into the category of ‘Reformers’ as the public will be introduced to the
event on social media and advertisements. According to the socio-economic graph, the target audience for
the wireless audio visual would fit into the category C because the target audience is aimed at mostly older
people and adults that share different interests in music. For Hartley, the audio visual would be aimed at 16-25
year olds and is mainly aimed at both genders. For class, it would fit into the category of young working class
students which means the audio visual for wireless is targeted at young people as they are more likely to be
active on social media. For Katz, the audio visual would fit into the category of personal identification because
it would relate to the readers as the information is being produced for young people, teenagers and young
adults. And finally for Maslow, it would fit into the category of Explorers because the readers will experience
different advertisements from the audio visual and would want to find out more information about the festival.

Representation
For the wireless audio visual that I am analysing, it would appeal to many people that are
interested in festivals overall, for example the loud music and the different colours to represent the
festival would all attract young people, teenagers and young adults. Usually festivals that are
popular would attract more people because it is known to the public, for example if they advertised
a festival that wasn’t known at all then people wouldn’t know whether to go or not because they
won’t know what it’s like. Although popular festivals can be exciting and enjoyable but there are
many risks and danger hazards that could possibly happen when you are there. For example it is a
very crowded place so if anyone has a fear of tight places or sensitive hearing then festivals will
not be the best place to go. Anyone could possibly be injured from the people around them and
this could be dangerous for anyone that isn't careful or aware of their surroundings. This could
possibly effect the popularity of the festival overall and people might put people off going from.
Overall the purpose of the audio visual was to make people aware of the festival so they know
what exactly it is going to be like, it also provides viewers of the names from the line up of artists
that are going to be performing. It is also a way for people to share their interests in music with the
people around them and could possibly share their interests.
Campaign Message
The audio visual for wireless festival’s' unique selling have firstly clearly shown viewers who is going to be
performing. For example they have done this by showing some of the artists names in the audio visual so
viewers will know what to expect. The wireless festival have chosen these acts to perform because they
consider to be popular and everyone seems to know them. This could imply that more people will show up
because they could hear an artist that they enjoy listening to. The main message of the audio visual for viewers
is to enjoy themselves and listen to different types of music where they can share their experiences about the
festival to other people. Within the festival, they have people that like to represent it by painting themselves in
different colours on their faces to imply that it’s summer and they use these colours to represent the festival
overall to show they are having a good time. The festival is also a way to escape reality meaning working
jobs/school, it is a chance for people to have fun instead of worrying about what is going on in their everyday
lives. The audio visual has provided viewers with dates of when the festival is going to start, for example the 8th,
9th and 10th of July 2016. these dates are specifically to do with the summer time as it will be more enjoyable
for people. By advertising the festival on social media base, it will attract many viewers to watch it as many
young people and young adults use social media in their everyday lives. The audio visual uses bright and bold
colours in the video in order to attract their viewers attention. They have also appeared some names of the
artists that will be performing at the festival. On the wireless website, if provides viewers with information about
when the festival will start and where it will take place each year. It also has different images of the festival itself
so readers will know what exactly it is like and might even consider going. Wireless festival attracts many people
as woman and men are wearing and acting in a certain way to attract people. This would link to the theory by
John Berger where “men act and woman appear”. It would also link to the theory “Female gaze” by “Diana Saco”
where males are instantly attracted to females at festivals as they wear and look in a certain way, this would also
be the same for “male gaze” by “Laura Mulvey” as females would look at males because they would be acting in
a certain way.
Spending power
The target audience of spending power will be at low rates as it will be targeted at
teenagers and young people as they would stereotypically go to festivals.
Students that are studying in college or universities are not going to be able to
purchase tickets as they will be expensive, this would imply that the tickets that
are going to be sold to the public are affordable for both students and adults.
Comparison
After studying both the print based product and the audio visual, I have analysed the similarities and
differences within the two products.
Firstly the similarities between both products is that they use the same colour’s in both to show viewers and
readers that it is advertising for the same festival. They have then used the same type of fonts within both to
demonstrate that again it is by the same festival and to show what the logo for the festival is so they will know
what festival it is. in both, they use the same names of artists that will be performing on each day of the
festival.
The differences within the print based product and the audio visual is that they have used different
advertisements for example, for the poster they have used this on a print based form and for the audio visual,
they have chosen to advertise it on social media.
To conclude, I have spoken about the similarities and differences within the poster and the audio visual. I
have done this in order to speak about how they use different types of advertisements promoting their festival.
Print Based and Audio Visual
Advertisement Linked Together
Within the print based media product and the poster, wireless festival links to different types of
music that are going to be played at the festival. The print based advertisement that I have
analysed provides helpful information for example on the poster it shows the dates of the
festival and it also features the names of each artist that is going to be performing on each
day. Furthermore, both the poster and the audio visual use the same font in order to advertise
their product, they have done this in order for people know it is the same advertisement while
using the same font and logo will make it known for people that want to go. Both the audio
visual and the poster follow the same colour scheme throughout their advertisement, they do
this in order for people to remember the festival every time they see it. Lastly both of the
advertisements are used to promote the same festival, this is because the festival wanted to
use different types of advertisements for example print based and media based where they will
be able to attract both young people and adults to their event.
Advertising Wireless have
advertised their
festival in many
different ways for
example on social
media such as
Facebook twitter
and Instagram
where they have
kept their users
updated about the
festival. They have
chosen to advertise
the festival on
social media
because it is mainly
aimed at young
people and
teenagers. The
festival advertise
the dates, where it
is going to be held
and what artists are
going to be
performing on each
day.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aaEX8D76z7s

This would link to the advert because I am going to advertise it online in order to attract
all audiences that would be interested in the festival. I must also make sure that I don’t
use any harmful information within the advert.
https://www.asa.org.uk
Copyright
On the Wireless festival website, they have provided
copyright information on the poster from 2016. the
website uses pictures and provides users will what
artists are going to be performing and on what day of
the festival.
http://www.wirelessfestival.co.uk/friday
Intellectual Property
Intellectual Property a copyright watermark form, it is demonstrated both
online and written documents. This is where an image, website or any product
you are advertising for a company or logo have been created that is printed to
identify who it belongs to. It will also prevent anyone from using the product
without permission as it is owned by their company. Wireless festival have used
intellectual property on their website at the very bottom of the page where
they have displayed a copyright to their website which implies that it is owned
by their company.
https://www.gov.uk/intellectual-property-an-overview/what-ip-is
Offensive language
Within Wireless festival, they will need to make sure they are not
producing any offensive or inappropriate content to their viewers
as it could possibly decrease their sales and people will not be
interested in the event. It is important to make sure they don’t
include this on the poster and audio visual advertisement as it
will be displayed to the public where young viewers are more
likely to see it. Furthermore this wouldn't’t be able to offend
anyone and would encourage people to attend the event.
Public interest
Wireless festival will have to make sure that the poster and the audio
visual advertisement will appeal to the public’s interest as it would
make the event look appealing to people and they would more likely
attend to the next event. Wireless festival would appeal to the public
eye as they haven't included any offensive language that would
affect the viewers decision to attend the event, the poster from 2016
which is displayed to the public included a very unique style and
layout which would straight away appeal to anyone of the public.
M2 - Legal and Ethical Constraints
During the making of my poster and advert, I will have to follow some legal and ethical issues
in order for it to come successful. I will firstly have to make sure that I don’t mislead my
advertising products, this would mean that everything that has been published must be
accurate to the audience. This will ensure that I haven't used any incorrect information that
may be considered untrustworthy. Secondly, I will have to make sure that do not use any
offensive or violent language, this would mean that I will have to be professional about what I
have published within the making of the products. Thirdly, I would have to make sure that I
have copyrighted my products so that no other company will be able to access them without
permission. This will demonstrate that the company are professional within the making of the
products. Overall the legal and ethical constraints within the products will help it to become for
professional and to ensure that I am not using any misleading language towards the audience
and also that I am not using any information I have been given without permission. These
steps will therefore able me to create these products in order to promote the festival.
Conclusion
Within this LO I have researched two different types of advertising products from the festival
wireless. I have spoken about a print based product and an audio visual advertisement, for
example I have analyzed a poster within the festival and an audio visual announcement
which they have used to advertise the entire event.
I have looked into the aims and objectives from both the poster and the audio visual, I have
spoken about what they aim to do in order to make the festival an successful event for
anyone that wants to go.
I have also spoken about representation between each and discussed how the festival have
used different things to represent the event for example usually people like to arrive at the
event wearing different colours to represent the festival. they also represent young people as
they are enjoying the event.
I have shown how they both use each advertisement from the audio visual and the print
based advertisement.

Colour Scheme-the colour
scheme of the poster will be
based on bright and bold colours
such as blue, purple, green and
pink. Pink represents excitement
which would relate to the festival
because it is where young
people and adults can enjoy
themselves. I have chosen
these particular colours
because it will catch the
audiences attention as the
festival will be a big and popular
event.
Target Audience-the target audience
for the poster is targeted at 16-25
year olds as the poster has a
colourful background which includes
bright colours and bold writing,
meaning it is advertised at only young
people and adults.
Logo name-the Logo name of the festival is going
to be called “Sound Wave” I have chosen this
name because the word “Sound” would link to the
music industry as they choose different types of
sounds to attract different people and the word
“Wave” because it would describe young people
enjoying themselves within a festival.
Frequency of Release- I am
going to start to release the pricing
of the festival for example how
much it is going to be per person,
then I am going to release the
main heading of the festival so
viewers will become more familiar
with it.
Logo Designs-for the logo design
of the festival, I have chosen the
main colour to be black and I have
also linked it with a drop shadow
with the colour blue because it is
similar to my poster and advert of
inspiration.
Marketing- I have chosen to
market the festival by using print
based advertisements such as a
poster in order to advertise the
festival overall. I have chosen
this because it will catch the
audiences attention if they were
to come across the poster.

wireless. I have chosen this particular colours because Wireless festival have also
chosen these colours and I wanted it to look like my festival of inspiration.
Photo-shoot plan
This is my Photoshoot plan where I have
taken the images for the festival.
Test Photography
I thought this was the best
picture I have taken of Jessica
Blundell. I have only included
one photo as I thought it was at
a better quality compared to the
other pictures I have taken, this
is going to be featured on the
front cover of the poster and
audio-visual advertisement.
Analysis of the Wireless festival poster
Within the wireless festival poster
from 2016, they have included
many shapes and colour in order to
attract teenagers to the event.
The festival have used different
types of shapes in different angles
on the poster to suggest that it is
exciting and unexpected for
viewers.
On the poster they have used a font
which is used quite a lot by the public
which could imply that anyone could
attend the festival as it is open to the
public.
Advert of Inspiration
The main headline from the
advert “Wireless” is
promoted using a dark blue
colour which is produced in
a larger font to show the
brand name. I will repeat
this by using a different
name that I'm going to use
for my print based
advertisement in order to
attract the audiences
attention by introducing
them to the festival.
The target audience for the
print based advertisement is
going to aimed at 16-25 year
olds within the category C
according to the socio-
economics needs graph
because the it will be aimed
at mostly older people and
adults that share different
interests in music.
The poster has used
different colour’s such
as blue, pink, green,
purple and white to
connote that the
festival is trying to
attract young adults.
They have also used
produced the artist’s
names that are more
important and popular
in a larger font to show
people they are the
main acts of the event.
I will repeat this step
within my print based
advertisement is
connote I have chosen
Wireless festival as my
inspiration.
Poster/Advert information
Within my poster and advert I am going to
base the genre on rap, Pop and Hip Hop.
I am going to be including artists such as
Justin Bieber, Krept & Konan, Drake, Jess
Glynne for example. I have chosen these
particular artists because it would relate to
my Festivals genre which is Rap, Pop and
Hip Hop.

Audio-visual advertisement
I could create an audio visual advertisement to broadcast on TV, I am going
to include different music artists and clips of music for example Calvin
Harris, Jess Glynne, Justin Bieber, Big Sean. These artists will be promoting
the festival on websites, TV and on social media. While I am creating the
poster and other advertisements I will also be including the plan for the
audio-visual advertisement. You can see that the advertisements will be

This is where I am going to be recruit the staff and equipment for sound wave
festival.
Key
DatesI am going to be launching my advertisements for both the poster and advert and audio-
visual advertisement on the 21st April. I have chosen this date because it is 3 months
before the festival starts therefore it gives the audience time to tell their friends and
purchase tickets.
Calendar Events
The festival “Sound wave” will be published on the 21th
April 2016, I
have chosen this particular date as it is near the summer term and it is
not too busy to buy tickets. I am going to be including the up and
coming artists which I have included on my poster and advert. On the
cover of my poster i have included different types of radio stations for
example “Capital” as they are going to be promoting the festival on the
radio.
Location
Before taking images for my Festival, I had to
make sure that I had a location where I will be
able to take these images. I have taken these
images at a friends house, this will also imply
what type of equipment I will need so that I am
able to take them at a suitable quality and it
will also make me aware of any possible
risks/hazards that could happen in the process.
Furthermore, I have taken some images of the
equipment that I will be using within the
process in order to take the images, I used a
digital canon camera, I have used this while
changing the settings each time so that I can
get a better quality image. I am going to be
using Jessica Blundell as the model, I am going
to produce a a release form where I will use it
to gain her permission to take pictures of her. I
am going to be using the software Photoshop
to edit these images I am going to be taking.https://www.google.co.uk/search?

I have chosen to use a canon camera from John Lewis in order to
take the pictures I wanted to use for the poster and audio-visual
advertisement. The camera is going to cost £1,249.00 as I am
going to be taking images at a good quality.

Risk Assessment – Form
I completed an industry standard risk assessment form before taking pictures for the festival. I had
to look into what to take, transport, camera and lighting, sound and what the director should use. I
had to do a risk assessment before hand because it will make sure I was protecting myself and the
person I was taking pictures of from any risks or hazards, I have ensured that I have covered all
aspects of risks that could happen.

Magazine advertising rates
As I will also make an advert to go inside a magazine of the festival, I am going to put a full
page into the magazine sound 3 months, this is going to be £3,025x3=9,075
I am also going to advertise my poster in Q magazine, I will also have 3-4 pages which is
going to cost the same amount.
Cost of producing the posters
I am going to be producing 750 posters to the public which is going
to cost £120.

Conclusion
Within this LO I have looked into many different things for example
how I am going to produce the festival’s poster and audio-visual
and what steps I have to follow in order to create it. I have also
researched where I am going to be taking the images I need for
both. Overall I have looked into different things so I am able to
produce the poster and audio-visual at a good quality.
Hand Drawn Draft-Poster
This is my poster for my festival that I have created. I plan to create a poster using
my hand drawn draft as inspiration. I have chosen bold and bright colours such as
blue, pink, purple and green because they are summer colours that represent the
festival overall.

Campaign Message
Wireless festivals' unique selling point would mean what type of acts
that are performing that day, for example on the wireless poster.
They have many different names of each artist that will be
performing on each day of the festival. They have chosen these
particular artists because they are very popular which would mean
people would pay to see them perform. The main message the
festivis trying to come across to anyone that is wanting to go is to
enjoy the music and the experience how people paint themselves
on the face and body with the festival by taking interest in the
colours that the festival provides. Wireless festival is a good way to
relax after the stress of work, school or any job you may have, it also
gives you a way to escape from reality and enjoy yourself. Wireless
arranges the festival every august as it is summer themed. By
choosing to advertise the festival on a print based media, will
therefore become known and attractive to consumers by choosing
bright colours and bold fonts. The title of the poster “Wireless” is
written in bold letters to catch the readers attention, they have also
used the colour dark blue in order for it to be the first thing the
reader will notice while looking at the poster. They have written the
artist's names in a pink and light blue colour as people will mainly go
to the festival to see their favourite artist. The whole poster has a
range of different colours in order to attract young people because
the music genre is for young people and adults. On the wireless
website, if provide people with information about when the festival
will start and where it will take place each year. It also has different
images from the festival previously so readers will know what
exactly it is like and might consider going to it.
Photo-shoot plan
This is my Photoshoot plan where I have
taken the images for the festival.
Festival house style and fonts
Font-within my festival I have chosen a font
from the website DAFONT.COM, I have
particularly chosen the font Prometheus as it
was similar to my festival of inspiration.
Colour scheme-for my festival logo I have chosen the colours blue and black to
feature on the poster and advert as it would link to my festival of Inspiration which is
wireless. I have chosen this particular colours because Wireless festival have also
chosen these colours and I wanted it to look like my festival of inspiration.
Test Photography
i thought this was the best
picture I have taken of Jessica
Blundell. I have only included
one photo as I thought it was at
a better quality compared to the
other pictures I have taken, this
is going to be featured on the
front cover of the poster and
audio-visual advertisement.

Mind Map
Print based

Colour Scheme-the colour
scheme of the poster will be
based on bright and bold colours
such as blue, purple, green and
pink. Pink represents excitement
which would relate to the festival
because it is where young
people and adults can enjoy
themselves. I have chosen
these particular colours
because it will catch the
audiences attention as the
festival will be a big and popular
event.
Target Audience-the target audience
for the poster is targeted at 16-25
year olds as the poster has a
colourful background which includes
bright colours and bold writing,
meaning it is advertised at only young
people and adults.
Logo name-the Logo name of the festival is going
to be called “Sound Wave” I have chosen this
name because the word “Sound” would link to the
music industry as they choose different types of
sounds to attract different people and the word
“Wave” because it would describe young people
enjoying themselves within a festival.
Frequency of Release- I am
going to start to release the pricing
of the festival for example how
much it is going to be per person,
then I am going to release the
main heading of the festival so
viewers will become more familiar
with it.
Logo Designs-for the logo design
of the festival, I have chosen the
main colour to be black and I have
also linked it with a drop shadow
with the colour blue because it is
similar to my poster and advert of
inspiration.
Marketing- I have chosen to
market the festival by using print
based advertisements such as a
poster in order to advertise the
festival overall. I have chosen
this because it will catch the
audiences attention if they were
to come across the poster.

Conclusion
Within this LO I have looked into many things for example
my final Photoshop poster and audio-visual designs
where I have produced a proposal where I have spoken
about what aims and objectives I want to gain while
creating both advertisements. I have also created two
mood boards to do with both advertisements which will be
implying what artists I am going to include on the posters.
Environment of presentation
I have taken three images in the environment where I will present my pitch to the
publishers . I took a picture of firstly the slide changer which will be used throughout
my pitch to change each slide. Secondly I took a picture of my computer screen to
show that I am working on creating my pitch for the publishers. And finally I took a
picture of the board to show that this is the board that my pitch is going to be on
while I am presenting my pitch.

Target
Audience For Hartley, the Target Audience for the wireless
poster of 2016 would be aimed at 16-25 year olds
as the poster has a colourful background that
includes bright colours and bold writing, meaning
it is advertised at only young people and adults.
For psychographics, the poster would fit into the
category of ‘Reformers’ because they use
selected products for the quality from the layout of
the poster and what is included. The target
audience would also be fitted into ‘Aspirers’
because it relates to typically younger people who
seek status, therefore they would enjoy the poster
because It is a popular festival that is well known
to the public. According to the socio-economic
graph, the target audience for the wireless poster
would fit into the category C because the target
audience is aimed at mostly older people and
adults that share different interests in music. For
Hartley, the poster would be aimed at young
people and adults that are interested in festivals.
For class, the poster would fit into the category of
‘young working students’ as it is targeted at young
people that have working jobs. For Katz, the
wireless poster would fit into the category of
‘personal identification’ as it would relate to the
readers because the information on the poster is
mainly being produced for young people,
teenagers and young adults. And finally for
Maslow, the wireless poster would fit into the
category of ‘Explorers’ because the readers will
experience different advertisements from the
poster which would encourage them to find out
more information about the festival.

Target Audience
The target audience for wireless 2016 audio visual would attract young people and young adults within the
ages of 16-25 as people that are older or younger than these ages would either not be interested as the
festival is loud and so many people will be around you or for children it wouldn't be a very appropriate. For
psychographics, the poster would fit into the category of ‘Reformers’ because they would select products for
the best quality as the festival aim to be the best. According to the socio-economic graph, the target audience
for the wireless audio visual would fit into the category C because the target audience is aimed at mostly older
people and adults that share different interests in music. For Hartley, the audio visual would be aimed at 16-25
year olds and is mainly aimed at both genders. For class, it would fit into the category of young working class
students which means the audio visual for wireless is targeted at young people that have working jobs. For
Katz, the audio visual would fit into the category of personal identification because it would relate to the
readers as the information is being produced for young people, teenagers and young adults. And finally for

Analysis of the Wireless festival poster
Within the wireless festival poster
from 2016, they have included
many shapes and colour in order to
attract teenagers to the event.
The festival have used different
types of shapes in different angles
on the poster to suggest that it is
exciting and unexpected for
viewers.
On the poster they have used a font
which is used quite a lot by the public
which could imply that anyone could
attend the festival as it is open to the
public.

Poster and Audio Visual Advert released to
audience – April 28th 2017 so they can purchase
their tickets and so the festival is out there for
everyone to know.
You can see that the advertisements will be
released on the same date above.
Location Recce
Location
Time-
Date-
Why-
I am going to be taking pictures at a friends house as I
wont have to gain permission and so I will be able to take
the images at a better quality. I am going to be taking
these image on the 10th of January at 1pm as I think it is a
good time to take them.

Why?
I am going to be using long and close up shots within the
images I am going to be taking because I will be able to
capture the quality of the image. I can going to be
borrowing a canon camera from my school to take these
images as it would be more professional. The model is
going to be wearing causal clothing as it is for a festival it
is going to be inspired as, I am going to be using Jessica
Blundell as my model because she has a natural look and
she would fit the part.
Permission Needed
Contact needed to be made, Evidence of this?
In order to take pictures of the model, I am going to be
making a permission form which she will have to sign in
order to gain her permission.
Potential Hazards/Risks
Specific Location
Why?
While I am going to be taking images at a friends house,
there are some risks and hazards I will need to take into
consideration before doing so. While taking images there
could be a possibility that I could drop the camera
Draft information
For my draft article I am going
to be using similar font’s from
the wireless poster from 2016
as it I am going to be using it
as my inspiration. I am going
to be also using a similar
layout within the poster and
audio-visual where I will be
using similar fonts and
colours in order for it to look
professional.
Equipment
I have chosen to use a canon camera from John Lewis in order to
take the pictures I wanted to use for the poster and audio-visual
advertisement. The camera is going to cost £1,249.00 as I am
going to be taking images at a good quality.

Cost of producing the posters
I am going to be producing 750 posters to the public which is going
to cost £120.

Regulatory codes of conduct
Wireless festival have used
intellectual property on their website at the very bottom of the page where
they have displayed a copyright to their website which implies that it is owned
by their company.
https://www.gov.uk/intellectual-property-an-overview/what-ip-is
Copyright and Royalties
Copyright- the legal right to be the only one
produce, publish and sell a book, a video or
anything on social media that you have created or
brought out to the public to see, an example of
this would be things such as brochures, books etc.
Royalties- copyright such as songs used in
different promotions to stand out their particular
promotion that they are making.
This relates to my magazine because I would have
to make sure that I ask for permission if I wanted
to use a certain picture of a artist
This would link to the poster as I am going to be advertising the festival online following
the codes in order to make sure that users are able to private their information.
https://www.asa.org.uk
OFCOM
OFCOM is an online competition authority that is used within the UK where it
manages TV and radio sectors and fixes online services such as telecoms,
mobiles, postal services and airwares in order to control devices. This would be
relevant to sound wave festival because I will need to gain their permission as
the festival is going to be broadcasted on TV and radio stations so it can
become known to the public. This will also help to promote the festival for
young people and adults that like festivals.

the most results I have

Question 2
This question I asked the

results I have received were
equal. I will therefore feature
both my poster and advert in

Question 3
Within this question I

Conclusion
Within this LO I have look into many different things to do with both
advertisements for example I have spoken about offensive language
and how it is important not to offend the public for example it could give
the event a bad reputation and people will more likely not want to come
to the next event.

Launch Dates
Dates of festival – 8th – 10th July 2017
Poster and Audio Visual Advert released to
audience – April 28th 2017 so they can purchase
their tickets and so the festival is out there for
everyone to know.
You can see that the advertisements will be
released on the same date above.
Test Photography
i thought this was the best
picture I have taken of Jessica
Blundell. I have only included
one photo as I thought it was at
a better quality compared to the
other pictures I have taken, this
is going to be featured on the
front cover of the poster and
audio-visual advertisement.
Equipment
I have chosen to use a canon camera from John Lewis in order to
take the pictures I wanted to use for the poster and audio-visual
advertisement. The camera is going to cost £1,249.00 as I am
going to be taking images at a good quality.

This would link to the poster as I am going to be advertising the festival online following
the codes in order to make sure that users are able to private their information.
https://www.asa.org.uk
Risk Assessment – Form
I completed an industry standard risk assessment form before taking pictures for the festival. I had
to look into what to take, transport, camera and lighting, sound and what the director should use. I
had to do a risk assessment before hand because it will make sure I was protecting myself and the
person I was taking pictures of from any risks or hazards, I have ensured that I have covered all
aspects of risks that could happen.
Safe Working Practices
When taking images and editing them for my front cover and double page spread, I had to make a risk
assessment while creating these. I had to create a safe working practice and how it could affect the
images.
Software risk assessment
Resizing an image-when creating the images I had taken for my poster and advert, I wanted to
make sure that I did this so that the image would be at a high standard. I found a useful
method in order to edit these images where I resized the image by holding down shift, then
resize from a corner to make an image bigger or smaller. The idea of this tool is be used for
making the image at a better quality, for example if the image was smaller but had a better
quality other than if it was bigger.
Colour swatches-in order to create a poster, you
will have to use all different types of colours to
use on the poster where you can make sure that
you don’t lose the specific colours that you need.
In order to do this, you will have to click on
swatches which is on the right hand corner of
Photoshop, you then click the new swatch icon
and chose the colour that you want. In order to
keep the swatch you have created, you will be
able to use the eye dropper tool in order to select
the colour you have previously used.
Photoshop changes made from feedback
One of my corrections in my witness statement was to change the font of my poster, I
have changed the font so that it doesn’t cover the artist’s face. This way it is going to
look more professional and appealing to the audience.
Changes made in pitch
The only changes I needed to make within my pitch was to change the font within my poster
in order to make it more appealing to the audience.
Client likes
The client that was witnessing my pitch specifically
liked how I have successfully produced a poster and
advert for the festival, they also have explained that
I have correctly linked the target audience to the
poster and advert using appropriate colours.
Content of the product
The content of the poster and audio-visual was to provide the public information about who is
going to be performing at the event, where it is going to be taking place and what dates is it
going to be on.

Fiona davison-unit 15

  • 1. – Level 3 Cambridge Introductory Diploma in Media Unit 15: Print Based Advertising St. Andrew’s Catholic School – Name-Fiona Davison Candidate Number-1107
  • 2. What is print based advertising? Print media advertising is a form of advertising that uses physically printed media such as magazines and newspapers.
  • 3.
  • 4. Introduction Within Unit 15, I will achieve an understanding on how to produce a print based advert to promote a festival or a concert. I will analyse how it is used and what they do in order to promote it. I have chosen to advertise a festival called Wireless for my inspiration as I think they use different types of advertisements that I could analyse for the poster and media product.
  • 5. Aims and Objectives The wireless festival poster was created to publicize the up and coming festival on July 2016 at Finsbury park in London. It is promoting the festival by listing each person that will be performing, it is also promoting the festival with an appealing background for example, the poster includes bright and bold colour’s such as dark pink, blue and purple. The poster also has used bold fonts which could be eye catching to the audience. Over the years the festival have been increasing their sales so readers will be interested by the poster as it will produce good quality. Furthermore this has also increased brand awareness from the Wireless festival because they use different types of advertisements such as posters and adverts in order to make the festival known and popular.
  • 6. Target Audience For Hartley, the Target Audience for the Wireless poster of 2016 would be aimed at 16-25 year olds as the poster has a colourful shapes within the background and bold writing, meaning it is advertised at young people and adults. It would also be aimed at this particular age group because they might recognise different artists such as “Ed Sheeran”. For Psychographics, the poster would fit into the category of ‘Reformers’ because the audience would be able to judge if the festival is at a high standard for multiple audiences. The target audience would also be fitted into ‘Aspirers’ because it relates to typically younger people who seek status, therefore they would enjoy the poster because It is a popular festival that is well known to the public. According to the Socio-economic graph, the target audience for the wireless poster would fit into the category C because the target audience is aimed at young people and adults that share different interests in music. For class, the poster would fit into the category of ‘young working students’ as it is targeted at young people that have work part time jobs. For Katz, the Wireless poster would fit into the category of ‘personal identification’ as it would relate to the readers because the information on the poster is mainly being produced for young people, teenagers and young adults. for Maslow, the wireless poster would fit into the category of ‘Explorers’ because the readers will experience different advertisements from the poster which would encourage them to find out more information about the festival. The highest price they charge would be for a 3 day weekend which costs £162.00. Wireless festival have chosen this particular prices because it would it would be an average price where customers will be able to afford. Furthermore Wireless festival releases the advertisements and prices as students will be able to save up their money so they will be able to purchase a ticket.
  • 8. Representation There are many people that are interested in different types of festivals all over the world, specifically young adults and teenagers. This could be because most festivals attract the most popular artists to perform at the show for people that want to see them. They can be very popular which most people around the world seem to know about it which is based on the music genre that is chosen for the festival. Festivals such as wireless can be a big issue and dangerous if any sort of violence were to happen, a majority of people could be seriously injured and this could give the festival a bad reputation and might even become unpopular. Furthermore festivals can have a positive effect on anyone that would go either individually or as a group of friends that could possibly have the same interests in music. Other people may go to festivals for the fashion, for example if they want to see what kind of clothes artists will be wearing as an inspiration to their own fashion. The festival appears to many young people both male and females that are interested in the same type of genres. Overall you would usually see people wearing different colours and patterns on their faces to represent the festival as a whole.
  • 9. Campaign Message Wireless festivals' unique selling point implies what type of acts are going to be performing on the selected dates. They have many different names of each artist that will be performing on each day of the festival. They have chosen these particular artists because they are very popular which would mean people would pay to see them perform. The main message the festival is trying to come across to anyone that is wanting to go is to enjoy the music and the experience how people paint themselves on the face and body with the festival by taking interest in the colours that the festival provides. Wireless festival is a good way to relax after the stress of work, school or any job you may have, it also gives you a way to escape from reality and enjoy yourself. Wireless arranges the festival every august as it is summer themed. By choosing to advertise the festival on a print based media, will therefore become known and attractive to consumers by choosing bright colours and bold fonts. The title of the poster “Wireless” is written in bold letters to catch the readers attention, they have also used the colour dark blue in order for it to be the first thing the reader will notice while looking at the poster. They have written the artist's names in a pink and light blue colour as people will mainly go to the festival to see their favourite artist. The whole poster has a range of different colours in order to attract young people because the music genre is for young people and adults. On the wireless website, if provide people with information about when the festival will start and where it will take place each year. It also has different images from the festival previously so readers will know what exactly it is like and might consider going to it.
  • 10. Sponsorship Wireless festival has been sponsored through a variety of social medias for example Facebook and Twitter, they will be updating customers about the dates and who is going to be performing on each day, they will also be displaying the ticket prices. On the festival website, they offer many different types of advertisements for example Capital radio station.
  • 11. Legal and Ethical issues While creating an advertisement for the wireless festival that is located in London, United Kingdom. I had to consider thinking about the copyright issues I may have to consider looking into during this. The word copyright means the legal right to be the only person to produce, publish and sell anything on social media someone has created or bought out to the public to see. This would mean that I will have to make sure that I receive permission in order to use the names of the artists that are going to be performing at the festival. By doing this I will be able to make a poster to advertise the festival overall for anyone that would be interested. Secondly as well as copyright they will have to include intellectual property which is a way to protect the festival from any sort of copyright, it also protects certain information so no one can access it without permission or having to pay to get it protected. They could use this in the poster by using intellectual property so everything will stay protected and will not be used by anyone else unless they have permission. Lastly they will have to include Royalties where different types of copyright will stand out in the promotion they are making. For the wireless poster, they use Royalties by asking for permission before they use anything such as an artist they would like to use in the festival and include their name on the poster or print based hand out they have created.
  • 12. Print based Advertisements used in the Campaign Wireless Festival will start to release what artists that will be performing at the festival, for example on their website they have information about the dates with what artist that is going to be performing that day. They have released more print based advertisements so that people will know when and where it is going to be taken place. On the website it has information about the accommodation you can receive while at the festival and what is suitable to bring. The final poster for wireless 2016 provides the official line up meaning the names of the final artists that are going to be there. On the poster they also have the artists that are defiantly going in larger fonts and colours to show people that they are the most popular and an important of the festival. Wireless festival have advertised the festival on Facebook in order for people to know about the event.
  • 13. Regulatory Bodies The ASA, Advertising standards Authority is a UK advertising organisation company that markets all types of media online. They provide codes that advertise different types of companies. ASA works on complaints that are made from different people about their privacy online to make sure that people using social media don’t receive harmful or offensive advertisements. Their purpose and strategy of the website and the company is to make different types of public notices that are appropriate for the public eye to ensure that no one has any offensive comments or concerns about what has been published. Wireless festival would have to follow this so that the festival will become popular and known to the public. https://www.asa.org.uk
  • 15. Aims and Objectives The aims and objectives of the Wireless festival first announcement 2016 is to publicize the up and coming festival. They have done this by creating an audio visual for the public to see where it is a way for the festival to become known, this will get people talking about the event and would even consider going to it. The event will be held on July 2016 at Finsbury park London, this is to show people where the event will be taking place so they can have an idea about what it is going to be like. At the start of the audio visual you can hear music in the background, the music is very bold and loud in order to catch the audiences attention. This is because the music is mainly aimed at young people and young adults as they like popular artists that have become popular over social media. You can then see different colours and shapes within the video, this is linked to the Wireless posters and advert seen on social media because Wireless use these shapes and colours to show people that it is known as wireless festival. It then shows clips of people at the festival which is a good way to show the audience what the festival is like and what types of people will be going. Near the end of the video, it starts to name some of the artists that will be performing. This will catch the audiences attention because they might like some of the artists that are shown. Overall the total aims and objectives for the wireless festival audio visual advertisement is to get different people interested about the festival. they use bright and bold colours with a bold font in big letters in order to catch their attention, they do this in order to attract young people and adults that might consider going with their friends. The bold letters and choice of font will attract people as the festival uses different styles in order to attract different audiences.
  • 16. Method Wireless festival is located in London United kingdom, the festival advertises it through social media which will keep viewers updated with the dates of the festival and the line up where it will be displayed heading up to the festival. Wireless have used social medias such as twitter and Facebook. The festival have chosen for the event to be in the summer term when people will be expecting different types of adverts, posters to be released. This will make the audience aware of the tickets prices at this time so they will be able to see what artists are going to be performing. This will encourage the audience to talk about the event and would convince their friends into going with them where they would experience the different types of music genres. The posters and adverts will also feature information about the event on the website where it has the festival dates and who will be performing each day. If you go on the website and scroll down to the very bottom, it provides you with the line up and information about the festival, posters of the festival, press page, partners page, Evictions policy, terms and conditions and privacy. They also advertise the festival on radio stations and magazines so the audience will be talking about it as it is a known and popular event each year.
  • 17. Target Audience The target audience for wireless 2016 audio visual would attract young people and young adults within the ages of 16-25 as people that are older or younger than these ages would either not be interested as the festival is loud and so many people will be around you or for children it wouldn't be a very appropriate. For psychographics, the poster would fit into the category of ‘Reformers’ as the public will be introduced to the event on social media and advertisements. According to the socio-economic graph, the target audience for the wireless audio visual would fit into the category C because the target audience is aimed at mostly older people and adults that share different interests in music. For Hartley, the audio visual would be aimed at 16-25 year olds and is mainly aimed at both genders. For class, it would fit into the category of young working class students which means the audio visual for wireless is targeted at young people as they are more likely to be active on social media. For Katz, the audio visual would fit into the category of personal identification because it would relate to the readers as the information is being produced for young people, teenagers and young adults. And finally for Maslow, it would fit into the category of Explorers because the readers will experience different advertisements from the audio visual and would want to find out more information about the festival. A Higher management, bankers, lawyers, doctors and other professionals B Middle management, teachers, creative and media people eg graphic designers etc C 1 Office supervisors, junior managers, nurses, specialist clerical-white collar C 2 Skilled manual workers, plumbers, builders-blue collar D Semi-skilled and unskilled manual workers E Unemployed, students, pensioners, casual workers
  • 18. Representation For the wireless audio visual that I am analysing, it would appeal to many people that are interested in festivals overall, for example the loud music and the different colours to represent the festival would all attract young people, teenagers and young adults. Usually festivals that are popular would attract more people because it is known to the public, for example if they advertised a festival that wasn’t known at all then people wouldn’t know whether to go or not because they won’t know what it’s like. Although popular festivals can be exciting and enjoyable but there are many risks and danger hazards that could possibly happen when you are there. For example it is a very crowded place so if anyone has a fear of tight places or sensitive hearing then festivals will not be the best place to go. Anyone could possibly be injured from the people around them and this could be dangerous for anyone that isn't careful or aware of their surroundings. This could possibly effect the popularity of the festival overall and people might put people off going from. Overall the purpose of the audio visual was to make people aware of the festival so they know what exactly it is going to be like, it also provides viewers of the names from the line up of artists that are going to be performing. It is also a way for people to share their interests in music with the people around them and could possibly share their interests.
  • 19. Campaign Message The audio visual for wireless festival’s' unique selling have firstly clearly shown viewers who is going to be performing. For example they have done this by showing some of the artists names in the audio visual so viewers will know what to expect. The wireless festival have chosen these acts to perform because they consider to be popular and everyone seems to know them. This could imply that more people will show up because they could hear an artist that they enjoy listening to. The main message of the audio visual for viewers is to enjoy themselves and listen to different types of music where they can share their experiences about the festival to other people. Within the festival, they have people that like to represent it by painting themselves in different colours on their faces to imply that it’s summer and they use these colours to represent the festival overall to show they are having a good time. The festival is also a way to escape reality meaning working jobs/school, it is a chance for people to have fun instead of worrying about what is going on in their everyday lives. The audio visual has provided viewers with dates of when the festival is going to start, for example the 8th, 9th and 10th of July 2016. these dates are specifically to do with the summer time as it will be more enjoyable for people. By advertising the festival on social media base, it will attract many viewers to watch it as many young people and young adults use social media in their everyday lives. The audio visual uses bright and bold colours in the video in order to attract their viewers attention. They have also appeared some names of the artists that will be performing at the festival. On the wireless website, if provides viewers with information about when the festival will start and where it will take place each year. It also has different images of the festival itself so readers will know what exactly it is like and might even consider going. Wireless festival attracts many people as woman and men are wearing and acting in a certain way to attract people. This would link to the theory by John Berger where “men act and woman appear”. It would also link to the theory “Female gaze” by “Diana Saco” where males are instantly attracted to females at festivals as they wear and look in a certain way, this would also be the same for “male gaze” by “Laura Mulvey” as females would look at males because they would be acting in a certain way.
  • 20. Spending power The target audience of spending power will be at low rates as it will be targeted at teenagers and young people as they would stereotypically go to festivals. Students that are studying in college or universities are not going to be able to purchase tickets as they will be expensive, this would imply that the tickets that are going to be sold to the public are affordable for both students and adults.
  • 22. Comparison After studying both the print based product and the audio visual, I have analysed the similarities and differences within the two products. Firstly the similarities between both products is that they use the same colour’s in both to show viewers and readers that it is advertising for the same festival. They have then used the same type of fonts within both to demonstrate that again it is by the same festival and to show what the logo for the festival is so they will know what festival it is. in both, they use the same names of artists that will be performing on each day of the festival. The differences within the print based product and the audio visual is that they have used different advertisements for example, for the poster they have used this on a print based form and for the audio visual, they have chosen to advertise it on social media. To conclude, I have spoken about the similarities and differences within the poster and the audio visual. I have done this in order to speak about how they use different types of advertisements promoting their festival.
  • 23. Print Based and Audio Visual Advertisement Linked Together Within the print based media product and the poster, wireless festival links to different types of music that are going to be played at the festival. The print based advertisement that I have analysed provides helpful information for example on the poster it shows the dates of the festival and it also features the names of each artist that is going to be performing on each day. Furthermore, both the poster and the audio visual use the same font in order to advertise their product, they have done this in order for people know it is the same advertisement while using the same font and logo will make it known for people that want to go. Both the audio visual and the poster follow the same colour scheme throughout their advertisement, they do this in order for people to remember the festival every time they see it. Lastly both of the advertisements are used to promote the same festival, this is because the festival wanted to use different types of advertisements for example print based and media based where they will be able to attract both young people and adults to their event.
  • 24. Advertising Wireless have advertised their festival in many different ways for example on social media such as Facebook twitter and Instagram where they have kept their users updated about the festival. They have chosen to advertise the festival on social media because it is mainly aimed at young people and teenagers. The festival advertise the dates, where it is going to be held and what artists are going to be performing on each day.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aaEX8D76z7s http://www.wirelessfestival.co.uk

This would link to the advert because I am going to advertise it online in order to attract all audiences that would be interested in the festival. I must also make sure that I don’t use any harmful information within the advert. https://www.asa.org.uk
  • 26. Copyright On the Wireless festival website, they have provided copyright information on the poster from 2016. the website uses pictures and provides users will what artists are going to be performing and on what day of the festival. http://www.wirelessfestival.co.uk/friday
  • 27. Intellectual Property Intellectual Property a copyright watermark form, it is demonstrated both online and written documents. This is where an image, website or any product you are advertising for a company or logo have been created that is printed to identify who it belongs to. It will also prevent anyone from using the product without permission as it is owned by their company. Wireless festival have used intellectual property on their website at the very bottom of the page where they have displayed a copyright to their website which implies that it is owned by their company. https://www.gov.uk/intellectual-property-an-overview/what-ip-is
  • 28. Offensive language Within Wireless festival, they will need to make sure they are not producing any offensive or inappropriate content to their viewers as it could possibly decrease their sales and people will not be interested in the event. It is important to make sure they don’t include this on the poster and audio visual advertisement as it will be displayed to the public where young viewers are more likely to see it. Furthermore this wouldn't’t be able to offend anyone and would encourage people to attend the event.
  • 29. Public interest Wireless festival will have to make sure that the poster and the audio visual advertisement will appeal to the public’s interest as it would make the event look appealing to people and they would more likely attend to the next event. Wireless festival would appeal to the public eye as they haven't included any offensive language that would affect the viewers decision to attend the event, the poster from 2016 which is displayed to the public included a very unique style and layout which would straight away appeal to anyone of the public.
  • 30. M2 - Legal and Ethical Constraints During the making of my poster and advert, I will have to follow some legal and ethical issues in order for it to come successful. I will firstly have to make sure that I don’t mislead my advertising products, this would mean that everything that has been published must be accurate to the audience. This will ensure that I haven't used any incorrect information that may be considered untrustworthy. Secondly, I will have to make sure that do not use any offensive or violent language, this would mean that I will have to be professional about what I have published within the making of the products. Thirdly, I would have to make sure that I have copyrighted my products so that no other company will be able to access them without permission. This will demonstrate that the company are professional within the making of the products. Overall the legal and ethical constraints within the products will help it to become for professional and to ensure that I am not using any misleading language towards the audience and also that I am not using any information I have been given without permission. These steps will therefore able me to create these products in order to promote the festival.
  • 31. Conclusion Within this LO I have researched two different types of advertising products from the festival wireless. I have spoken about a print based product and an audio visual advertisement, for example I have analyzed a poster within the festival and an audio visual announcement which they have used to advertise the entire event. I have looked into the aims and objectives from both the poster and the audio visual, I have spoken about what they aim to do in order to make the festival an successful event for anyone that wants to go. I have also spoken about representation between each and discussed how the festival have used different things to represent the event for example usually people like to arrive at the event wearing different colours to represent the festival. they also represent young people as they are enjoying the event. I have shown how they both use each advertisement from the audio visual and the print based advertisement.

  • 36. Mind Map Print based Advertisement Colour Scheme-the colour scheme of the poster will be based on bright and bold colours such as blue, purple, green and pink. Pink represents excitement which would relate to the festival because it is where young people and adults can enjoy themselves. I have chosen these particular colours because it will catch the audiences attention as the festival will be a big and popular event. Target Audience-the target audience for the poster is targeted at 16-25 year olds as the poster has a colourful background which includes bright colours and bold writing, meaning it is advertised at only young people and adults. Logo name-the Logo name of the festival is going to be called “Sound Wave” I have chosen this name because the word “Sound” would link to the music industry as they choose different types of sounds to attract different people and the word “Wave” because it would describe young people enjoying themselves within a festival. Frequency of Release- I am going to start to release the pricing of the festival for example how much it is going to be per person, then I am going to release the main heading of the festival so viewers will become more familiar with it. Logo Designs-for the logo design of the festival, I have chosen the main colour to be black and I have also linked it with a drop shadow with the colour blue because it is similar to my poster and advert of inspiration. Marketing- I have chosen to market the festival by using print based advertisements such as a poster in order to advertise the festival overall. I have chosen this because it will catch the audiences attention if they were to come across the poster. Slogan- ”Good time, good music, good memories” Dates of festival – 8th – 10th July 2017 Poster and Advert released to audience – April 28th 2017 so they can purchase their tickets and so the festival is out there for everyone to know.

  • 45. Test Photography I thought this was the best picture I have taken of Jessica Blundell. I have only included one photo as I thought it was at a better quality compared to the other pictures I have taken, this is going to be featured on the front cover of the poster and audio-visual advertisement.
  • 46. Analysis of the Wireless festival poster Within the wireless festival poster from 2016, they have included many shapes and colour in order to attract teenagers to the event. The festival have used different types of shapes in different angles on the poster to suggest that it is exciting and unexpected for viewers. On the poster they have used a font which is used quite a lot by the public which could imply that anyone could attend the festival as it is open to the public.
  • 47. Advert of Inspiration The main headline from the advert “Wireless” is promoted using a dark blue colour which is produced in a larger font to show the brand name. I will repeat this by using a different name that I'm going to use for my print based advertisement in order to attract the audiences attention by introducing them to the festival. The target audience for the print based advertisement is going to aimed at 16-25 year olds within the category C according to the socio- economics needs graph because the it will be aimed at mostly older people and adults that share different interests in music. The poster has used different colour’s such as blue, pink, green, purple and white to connote that the festival is trying to attract young adults. They have also used produced the artist’s names that are more important and popular in a larger font to show people they are the main acts of the event. They have many different names of each artist that will be performing on each day of the festival. They have chosen these particular artists because they are very popular which would mean people would pay to see them perform. The main message the festivis trying to come across to anyone that is wanting to go is to enjoy the music and the experience how people paint themselves on the face and body with the festival by taking interest in the colours that the festival provides. They have written the artist's names in a pink and light blue colour as people will mainly go to the festival to see their favourite artist. • 125. Regulatory codes of conduct During the making of my poster and advert, I will have to follow some legal and ethical issues in order for it to come successful. • 129.
  • 130. • 160. Safe Working Practices When taking images and editing them for my front cover and double page spread, I had to make a risk assessment while creating these. I had to create a safe working practice and how it could affect the images. Software risk assessment Resizing an image-when creating the images I had taken for my poster and advert, I wanted to make sure that I did this so that the image would be at a high standard. I found a useful method in order to edit these images where I resized the image by holding down shift, then resize from a corner to make an image bigger or smaller. The idea of this tool is be used for making the image at a better quality, for example if the image was smaller but had a better quality other than if it was bigger. Colour swatches-in order to create a poster, you will have to use all different types of colours to use on the poster where you can make sure that you don’t lose the specific colours that you need. In order to do this, you will have to click on swatches which is on the right hand corner of Photoshop, you then click the new swatch icon and chose the colour that you want. In order to keep the swatch you have created, you will be able to use the eye dropper tool in order to select the colour you have previously used.
  • 161. Photoshop changes made from feedback One of my corrections in my witness statement was to change the font of my poster, I have changed the font so that it doesn’t cover the artist’s face. This way it is going to look more professional and appealing to the audience.
  • 162. Changes made in pitch The only changes I needed to make within my pitch was to change the font within my poster in order to make it more appealing to the audience.
  • 163. Client likes The client that was witnessing my pitch specifically liked how I have successfully produced a poster and advert for the festival, they also have explained that I have correctly linked the target audience to the poster and advert using appropriate colours.
  • 164. Content of the product The content of the poster and audio-visual was to provide the public information about who is going to be performing at the event, where it is going to be taking place and what dates is it going to be on.
