Alex Sander Case Study
An organization s long term success in meeting its strategic objectives rests with its ability to manage
employee performance and ensure that performance measures are consistent with the organizational
needs (Mello, 2015, p. 438). In the case study of Alex Sander, this is exactly what the manager s need
to think about in regards to developing Sander. Sam Glass, Product Group Supervisor for Landon care
products has his work cut out for him in regards to his very aggressive ego driven yet valuable
employee in the organization. While trying to implement a new 360° performance feedback method
for the first time, how can Sam channel Alex s talent and ensure success both for Alex as an individual
and for the organization? A main purpose of a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
We can clearly see from this case study that Alex has some deficiencies in performance levels that
Glass has to address and determine specific training and development needs to help both Alex and the
organization. The trickle effect of the negative impact Sander has on is team as much as there is a
personal interest to retain Sander, is the possibility of seeing other employee turnover. This case study
gives us the impression that Alex is not open to the feedback that will be provided in the 360°
performance review. Sander is aware of anger and temper issues but actually views it as strengths and
a great management tool. We understand that Sander intends to disregard this feedback but we must
also understand is that this review process is new to the organization. We have a twofold issue here as
the case study articulates to us through Sam Glass, that many people in the organization feel the same
way about the 360° performance review. Perhaps this is the first issue that needs to be addressed and
the managers need to first see the value in this review process and have a better understanding of its
mechanics before they roll it out. By reinforcing the idea to an already inflexible high achiever that
they are not alone is the disapproval of this process does not set the appropriate foundation for this
organization to fully benefit from what the 360° performance review

The Ocean Tone
As an observation of the opposing natures of the ocean s surfaces and depths, Hawthorne s The Ocean
illustrates the tranquility of a grave beneath the ocean s waves. The melancholy tone of the poem acts
like a unifying current, pervading the text of the poem and saturating it with a feeling of peace
mingled with undertones of sadness. Divided into two octaves, the poem first depicts the nature of the
ocean referring to it as quiet and alone then the second half of the poem contrasts typical graves with
the graves of mariners beneath the sea (2). The poem also relies on a detached observer to act as the
speaker to directly connect the audience to the image of the ocean which it is describing. The poem
starts with a description of the ocean and its caves and the first octave also establishes the inherent
contrast between the ocean s silent caves and its fury (1 3). The first octave portrays a divided ocean;
on the top of the ocean lie rough and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The final line of the first stanza emphasizes the power of the ocean and that it does not discriminate
when choosing its victims since it willingly takes the young, the bright, the fair (8). The poem then
transitions like the crest of a wave colliding with a sandy beach as it begins to talk specifically of
those who find solace beneath the wrathful waves. The poem s structure also echoes the ebb and flow
of the ocean as one wave flawlessly makes way for another. The second stanza begins by describing
the slumber of the wearied seamen and by stating that they are resting calmly the speaker conjures an
atmosphere of finality and peace (9). The poem also refers to the sea as belonging to the seamen
through the use of the word own and in doing so he emphasizes that because the men spent their lives
on the sea it became their home

Fraud Triangle And Red Flags
Option #1 Fraud Triangle and Red Flags
Plutonium entered the Internet start up boom in 1988. It experienced rapid growth that resulted in a
haphazard information technology (IT) system in which pieces of technology were implemented
quickly leaving poor integration and data integrity. To strengthen data integrity and create an
integrated IT system, the organization installed a billing system, Gateway, which required testing
utilizing an imitation yet live credit card number to test the software and integration.
Several months after integration, a piracy incident involving a member of the integration team was
detected. The incident was resolved with assistance from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI)
with the Operations team employee, Chris, warned and suspended with a formal warning letter to be
completed. Due to a conversation between the employee and his manager, Jonathan, the letter was not
written and months later the behavior of the employee raised suspicions with Jonathan indicating
potential fraud.
Potential Fraud Indicators The Fraud Triangle
To enable fraudulent activities, three elements comprised of the fraud triangle must exist: perceived
pressure, perceived opportunity, and rationalization of the fraudulent activities. In the case of
Plutonium, the elements of the fraud triangle were present and several factors increased the
opportunities for fraudulent activities. Though several types of fraud can be committed within an
organization, the

The Art Of Athena Parthenos
In Ancient Greece, the culture and values have been developed over time through tales and artwork. A
considerable amount of such works have been marble sculptures of various people and gods. Many of
the most famous and valuable sculptures depict a common attribute in ancient poetry, youth or the
importance of the body. A vast majority of characters in ancient stories have been that of a youthful
and intensely patriotic hero. Strength in youth and form are quite common in the characteristics of
these ancient heroes. People in the ancient world have been represented through the power and youth
within their story and appearance and reflected upon in the sculptures of this time.
One of the most valued pieces of art in the ancient Greek world is that of Athena Parthenos. The
original statue was designed and sculpted by Phidias and placed in the parthenon in 438 B.C. The
original chryselephantine statue was almost 40ft tall and was made out of ivory with gilded features.
The sculpture stands tall, while wearing a tunic, an aegis, and helmet, while holding the god of
victory, Nike, in her right hand and holding a spear in her left hand. There have been many
replications of this statue, including one created during the Roman Period in the 2nd or 3rd century
A.D. sculpted from stone and bronze. Details include a helmet with pegasoi on each side with the
remains of a sphinx in the center. Athena s hair falls in curls down her shoulders and snakes encircle

Chief Executive Hat Essay
Question #1 The most important leadership hat of the president is the Chief Executive Hat or power.
In respect to this hat, the president of the United States has the power to enforce laws of the United
States, create policies, appoint federal judges, and fires or hire officials or representatives within the
executive branch. This hat is important because it enables the president to make decisions that help
maintain the economic stability as well as the political stability of the country. For instance, by
enforcing laws and appointing federal judges, the president is able to make decisions that help
maintain stability within the United States. In turn, this enables economic indicators such as
businesses to flourish efficiently.

treaties. As outlined by the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The fact that the president has seven distinct responsibilities clearly reveals that he is working seven
jobs at once. Single handedly, the U.S president act as the head of his political party, the directory of
foreign policy, the economic guardian, the legislative leaders, the commander in chief, and the chief
executives. Besides, each responsibility has several diverse branches, which contribute to burdening of
the president. For that reason, the responsibility should be reduced in order to enable the president
handle only the responsibilities that matches his skills and qualifications. Therefore, the president
responsibilities should be reduced by allowing him to appoint some representatives to handle for him
the roles that require high expertise and training. For instance, president may not have necessary
experience to handle his commander in chief or the responsibility of acting as economic guardian;
hence, he should appoint somebody with necessary educational background and qualifications to
handle these roles.

Spanish Moss
Spanish moss is a vascular epiphyte that belongs to the genus known as Tillandsia. Epiphytes do not
typically harm the tree species that it resides on. Epiphytes such as Spanish moss(TillansiaUaneoides)
is not dependent on the tree for nutrients; however, it uses the tree for mechanical support. It produces
seeds that are transported by the wind which causes it to be found in various locations; however,
spanish moss may not survive living on some tree hosts and be found more frequently on certain tree
species than others. This is largely due to the fact that biotic factors and abiotic factors contribute to
the distribution of Spanish moss found in certain environments. Biotic and abiotic factors determine
both where an organism can live ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This could be due to the increased amount of foliar minerals on the dying tree, so it is possible that
differences in availability of minerals in various tree canopies could determine the local distribution of
Spanish moss (Marks and Schlesinger 1977). The availability of minerals also plays a crucial role with
the amount of spanish moss found on cypress and hardwoods versus pine trees. Pine trees do not
generally leach nearly as much minerals as cypress and hardwood trees do. Mark and Schlesinger
inferred that cypress and hardwood trees possess a higher percentage of Calcium, Magnesium, and
Potassium than pine trees(1977). The differences in minerals, host preferences and other abiotic and
biotic factors of Spanish moss could possibly contribute to the lack of Spanish moss found in pine
trees versus the amount found in hardwood trees at Lake

Beryllium Hydride (Beh2)
Beryllium Hydride (BeH2)
The VSEPR theory explains that all electron nonbonding domains and electron bonding domains
around a central atom must be positioned as far apart as possible in three dimensional form. There are
2 electron domains in Beryllium Hydride due to 2 pairs of bonds on the central atom making the
molecular shape linear.
The bond between beryllium and hydrogen is polar because the electronegativity difference is greater
than 0.
The molecule is nonpolar because it has a symmetrical distribution of charge. It has a symmetrical
distribution of charge because it has two lines of symmetry.

The bonded pairs of electrons between each of the Hydrogen atoms to Phosphorus atom will push far

The movie was the remake of William Shakespeare s classic play Romeo and Juliet. A beautiful and
poetic love story, where the story is told through beautiful Shakespearian dialogue but Luhrmann takes
this challenge on and uses cinematic techniques to help make this Shakespearian dialogue
understandable to modern audience, which has always been a great barrier. So setting, scene and the
actor s movements are vital to ensure the audience understands, as well as slow motion shots, low
angle and close ups, this helps make the action and expressions speak louder than words in a world
created by Luhrmann. The theme is about love versus family hatred and youth versus age, Luhrmann
uses various techniques to show how Romeo and Juliet are capable of falling in love at first sight and
to be willing to die for his love for a modern audience to believe. We first meet Romeo on a grey
clouded day which he appears depressed, whilst smoking a cigarette and writing poetry and wondering
aimlessly. In other scenes close ups are done on Juliet s makeup less face which makes her look naïve

How Is Rosencrantz And Guildenstern Are Dead
Parody, Pastiche and Their Contribution to Configuring the Theme of Identity in Tom Stoppard s play
Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead is written by Tom Stoppard. It is a parody for the
Shakespearean play, Hamlet. The play starts with the two major characters, Rosencrantz and
Guildenstern flipping a coin. Rosencrantz always won the game and Guildenstern was trying to
understand the laws of mathematics. Even from the beginning of the play we are told that Rosencrantz
and Guildenstern are called Ros and Guil. This fact meant that they are pop culture representants and
it is a reduction of the Shakespearean play. From the title it can be seen the fact that they were dead
from the beginning (Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead). They also ... Show more content on

It satirized the Elizabethan play through characters and how they act and even through the fact that
now the play centers on Ros and Guil. When the other Shakespearean characters are introduced, the do
not appear like in Hamlet , but they are puppets, without life, or personality. They did not have much
significance in the play. Now they are minor characters which used the two main characters for their
own purpose. Gertrude wanted to understand what happened to her son and Claudius also used them
to kill Hamlet. Ros and Guil were their servants because they responded to the call of Claudius and
Gertrude. Hamlet was also a minor character here. Like in Shakespeare s play he followed his own
interest, but here Ros and Guil were sent to understand his plans. The parody here came from the fact
that the most major characters from Shakespeare s play are now minor and the minor characters are
major. The tragic effect from Hamlet is now given to clowns, Ros and Guil, which are stupid
characters; they do not know who they are. It is an exaggeration of the human condition and this
makes a play a tragicomedy. Like Hamlet tried to understand the meaning of life and death in the
original play, now Ros and Guil tried to do

Communism In Albania Research Paper
According to the Dictionary.com, communism is defined as a system of social organization in which
all economic and social activity is controlled by a totalitarian state dominated by a single and self
perpetuating political party. Communism was the form of the government in Albania until 1992. As
Albania transitioned from communism to democracy, communism has caused the poverty, which is
one of the biggest struggle Albania has ever faced. Although the government changed its form to
democracy, the influences of Communism still remain causing the nation to suffer from its unstable
economy and poverty.
Ever since Communism ended after the election in 1992, Albania has been struggling to recover its
economic status. Unlike the past years, where all the jobs were provided for citizens by the
government, now people have to look for their own jobs. Teaching people to be independent from the
government and to find out what they are going to do for the rest of their life was a struggle which still
continues today. As reported in the Trading Economics, the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

were determined to change the government to the right form where more voices can be heard, even if
their way to do it risked their life. Even though at this point, transitioning the form of government can
be seen as a bad idea, it was the choice for citizens to gain more rights. Today in Albania, people
became more free to express their own feelings and opinions. According to Freedom House, Albania
gained three (one being best, seven being the worst) in civil liberties in this year. It is the result of
great improvements compared to the year of 1998, when Albania scored five in the same category. As
they gained more freedom as a citizen, it seems like that the country is also recovering from the debris

Last Of The Mohicans Thesis
SECTION HEADER The main thesis I wanted to focus on and the only one that caught my attention
in this book would be Interracial love and friendships in The Last of the Mohicans, which was written
by James Cooper. The Last of the Mohicans is considered to be one of James Cooper s best work of
literature . The book happened to be set in 1757 but wasn t written until 1826 . I see the setting of the
book as one of the context clues because , 1757 was the fifties when race , segregation , and interracial
relationships were claimed to be a foreign and/ or abnormal thing to happen almost as if it was wrong.
The setting has also taken place during the French and Indian War. At this time of the war , the French
would usually allied themselves with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The second reason I chose this to be my thesis is because , growing up in an unsegregated
environment I myself ,and others have begun to lose sight of the blessing we have , being born into an
environment where we always have had the opportunity / chance to interact with other people outside
of our own race. Its unusual to be told that another race is better than or less than anyone else s, I
believe this is something that our future generation takes for granted and loses sight of . Doing
researches on this book , writing an essay for it , and just reading the book by itself has humbled me a
little bit and really has opened my eyes to realize that we do take our freedom for granted and that
goes for every race out there. The last reason I have chosen to write about interracial relationships
obtaining to the book is because, I would like to point out the good , genuine forbidden love between
Cora and Uncas , I really liked that they had a sort of Romeo and Juliet tragedy with them both being
younger adults , whose family are both enemies , they are both willing to do anything to be together
even if it cost their lives. They both believe that their race should not define them , or stop them from
falling in love with one each other . Some things I learned and hope others have learned from this
book is that things are not as they seem and that there is a picture behind the bigger picture.
Essentially what I m trying to say is that even though the colony / the people that they are governed by
sees race as a problem and that racial mixing should not be tolerated , this does not mean that
everyone there thinks like this , Some of the residents there are actually suffering because them being

Psychological Theories And Criminal Behavior
The psychological theories assume that criminal behavior is a result of individual differences in
thinking processes. There are many different psychological theories; however, they all believe that it is
the person s thoughts and feelings that dictate their actions. The problems with thinking can lead to
criminal behavior. I think one of the benefits of criminal justice professionals studying psychological
theories is an attempt to measure the intelligence associated with criminals and why they commit
crimes. The belief is also to shift the thinking process from the idea that criminals are biologically
inferior to the idea that they are intellectually inferior. (Bohm Vogel, 2011) The psychological theories

development, learned behaviors of aggression and violence, inherent personality traits, and the
relationship of criminality to mental illness. (Boyd, 2017) The psychology theories allow criminal
justice professionals to understand more about how the body and mind work together. The psychology
theories help to identify personality traits that are linked to aggressive criminal behavior. The
psychology theories clarify that crime may be understood as a means by which individuals satisfy
their basic human needs. Therefore, criminal justice professionals can benefit from being able to read

Relationships In R K Narayan
Human Relationships in R.K.Narayan writing with reference to current scenario To be a good writer
anywhere, you must have roots both in religion and family. I have these things. R.K.Narayan has
depicted himself. Man is a social animal and a man living outside the society is either a god or a beast
. This proverb depicts the importance of society and relations for a human being. That is why, since
the Renaissance Humanism, and for that purpose the study of Humanities has become a sine qua non
for the literary artists. It was established long ago, what a piece of work is man? and The proper study
of mankind is man. All this accounts for an exploration of a connecting link between two human
beings, better expressed in the term, human relationship . In the arena of Indo Anglian Fiction, R.K.

However, as literature is the mirror of society, the term has acquired a literary dimension and
interpretation; in sociology of literature, such a relationship opens a wider panorama, displaying its
significance on domestic, social and cultural levels. Thus in the vicinity of home, there is studied
parents son relationship, brother sister relationship, husband wife relationship, and above all the
relationship between two women, with all its conflict and compromise. On social grounds, the
relationship outside the bonds of family is stressed, such as master labour relationship, teacher taught
relationship, employee employer relationship, buyer seller relationship etc. In Indian context every
type of human relationship is strengthened by addressing the other person in domestic nomenclature
just as Sakkutai Kanchamma Ismail Chacha ; every old woman is addressed as Dadi by children as a
sense of respect and regard. Such an emotional bondage is possible in India

The Importance Of Perfection In We Were Liars
It is true that no one is perfect. One can then assume that people should strive to be perfect either.
Perfection is boring anyways. 6.15 percent of the U.S. has depression, and 18 percent have anxiety. It
is the most common mental illness in America. The reason of this is because we always try to reach
perfection, and people are disappointed when it does not happen. This is shown a multitude of times in
We Were Liars. Trying to be perfect causes so much heartache that could be avoided. People need to
realize that perfection is boring, and being the best them is better. Not one of these symbols of
prosperity and taste has any use at all. (Lockhart 45). This quote from We Were Liars is very true.
Basically what it is saying is this: in the end, all of these pretty things and expensive brands is not
going to mean anything. My Liars, my darlings. I killed them. (Lockhart 209). It is like here in the
book. Cadence finds out her best friends are dead, and all the other things her family worried about
means nothing. The reason that people are attached to materialistic things because they feel it makes
them better and boosts their status. People want to
2 boost their status to reach some sort of perfection. If they would realize that other things matter more
than perfection and materialistic things, then they would not seem so important anymore. Race is
another thing that society tries to pull apart and perfect. He was a stranger in our family even after all
those years. (Lockhart 30). This quote shows that race is, in fact, an issue that people pick at. Usually
it is people who think they are perfect. Anyone who thinks this is just plain wrong. Any person who
believes they are better than someone because of their race is wrong. The Sinclair family tries so hard
to be perfect that it hurts others. Meaning Gat. They push him away and make him feel alienated
because they are worried of what other people might think. No one should be hurt at someone else s
hand, just because they think they are superior to the other person. People try so hard to be perfect that
it hurts them. This is one reason why I think Cadence is depressed. Cadence is surrounded by people
who try so hard to be perfect,

Ronald Reagan Address Rhetorical Devices Analysis
Analysis of Rhetorical Devices Reagan also uses many rhetorical devices throughout powerful speech.
The first two devices are anaphora, which is the repetition of a phrase at the beginning of sentences,
also epistrophe, which is the repetition of a phrase at the end of sentences. These rhetorical devices
illustrate the impact the soldiers had on our society, and that if they didn t risk their life s, there might
have been a totally different turn out of the war. Reagan demonstrates anaphora when he states, These
are the boys of the Pointe du Hoc. These are the men who took the cliffs. These are the champion who
helped free a continent. These are the heroes who helped end a war. (Reagan lines 25 27). This quote
has a powerful impacted because it clarifies the significance of the Soldiers bravery toward their
country. Not only did Reagan practice anaphora through his speech, but also through epistrophe. One
way that Reagan uses epistrophe would be when he created the statement: You all knew that some
things are worth dying for. One s country is worth dying for, and democracy is worth dying for
(Reagan lines 63 64). Reagan uses epistrophe in this quote to strengthen his beliefs that the soldiers

I Am A My Project On Architecture
For my final photojournalism project I decided to take pictures of really tall buildings in London such
as the Shard. For a while I wasn t sure what I was going to do my project on and I was thinking about
doing it on the process of opening and closing a local shop like Paul s. I wasn t really that motivated
by that topic so I soon forgot about it. The idea to do my project on architecture came from my visit to
the London Eye. When I was there I realized how vast and large London was and how many buildings
occupied it. I was amazed how tall and massive some of the buildings were and a couple of them in
particular stood out to me. After my visit there I decided I would pick one famous building in London
to photograph and then add other pictures to my project that were less known, but equally as
interesting looking buildings. I wanted to try and photograph the buildings from the ground up to
really try and capture how big they actually were. I also didn t want to shoot the buildings directly
head on. I wanted my pictures to be of interesting angles of the buildings. I decided that in order to
capture the look I wanted for these photographs I had to use a different lens. I used a zoom lens that
helped me focus in on the top of the buildings and make the image appear a lot clearer. Additionally, I
placed the camera really low to the ground and angled the camera directly up and down to get the style
that I wanted. When I looked at these pictures on my camera I was amazed how

showing no signs of hesitation. The woman is grasping towards the sky, with parts of her body
transforming in to wood. The Greek story of Apollo and Daphne says that Apollo was making fun of
Cupid, so Cupid shot Apollo with one of his arrows. As a result, ... Show more content on

The painting has human like figures melting in sickly yellow green piles. These figures are hanging
off railings and tables, with one large pile gathered around a waitress serving drinks. The top third of
the painting shows a man preparing drinks behind the bar as two patrons yell at him. This lends the
painting a very bottom heavy apperence. Both the waitress and the bartender are painted in a subdued
yellow with exhausted looks on their faces. This painting is showing the audience that this group of
people have spoiled each other and become a rotting mess of lewd behavior. That people who weren t
intoxicated wouldn t be so rude and inappropriate to each other, the figures are pulling other s shirts
and vomiting on each other. However, the wait staff contrasts this, they are shown in almost heavenly
way. The bartender is shown in a warmly lit background with bottles that are serene and beautiful
looking. Especially when compared to the green figures on the floor, some of which are hanging on to
the railing, trying to get to the bar. This could lead the audience to believe that bar and wait staff are

The Space Of Space Travel
Introduction
Space travel is a propelled trip outside our planet. This trip will be either by a spacecraft that contains
human inside it or just a controllable spacecraft so engineers or whoever works in the earth station can
control this spacecraft. We do space travel because we want to discover more about the universe like
how it started and where did our planet come from and if we are by our own or there are other
creatures living somewhere else in the universe.
Background
Space exploration became part of human accomplishments after the discoveries and theoretical that
been discovered by Konstantin Tsiolkovsky and Robert H. In 1957 The soviet union came at the top of
the list by launching the first artificial satellite. After a couple of years, on 1961, the Russian astronaut
became the first human to orbit the earth he lasted 108 minutes in his trip and he reached 327km
height. It was like a race between the soviet union and the United States both sides trying hard to
discover new things and do more space exploration, however in 1969 the United States made a big
achievement in this race through the Apollo 11 mission, the target of this mission was to land on the
moon by a spacecraft that contains human inside it and the astronaut Neil Armstrong was the first
human who walked on the moon. The journey took four days and the astronauts spent 21 hours on the
moon surface and they were able to go back to earth safely, it was a big step in mankind s history. In

A Theme of the Opera in Bel Canto by Ann Patchett
Bel Canto by Ann Patchett The theme of the novel draws its most core intensities from the art of
opera. Patchett fantastically utilizes the language and the pathos of music for the examination of
jungle born revolutionaries and the international hostages. This novel reflects our extraordinary
aptitude to structure emotional associations in improbable and shaky ways. Manette Ansay, author of
Midnight Champagne says: Let me put this plainly: Ann Patchett has written the best book I have read
in a long, long time. Bel Canto is a masterpiece to its title, a beautiful song, and a broad, bold entirely
original love story destined to become an international classic. This is the book we all wait for, the one
we thrust into the hands of friends, saying, You ve got to read this! You ve got to read this now!
According to The New York Times Book Review: Expect miracles when you read Ann Patchett s
fiction. The plot captures the attention right from the opening. The action begins with the very first
sentence of the novel as the lights drop out during a party at the mansion of the vice president of a
poor revolution torn South American country and suddenly a band of terrorists flood in the room from
the upstairs, from behind curtains, through the doors, and even from inside the heating vents.
Terrorists were aimed at kidnapping the country s president, but their ambition and the whole strategy
is hindered when they discovered that he was not among the guests. The

The Boko Haram Group On The Nigerian Economy
1.0 INTRODUCTION
In recent times, Nigeria has attracted significant global attention as a result of the on going Boko
Haram terrorism actions. With Nigeria being one of the most populous country in West Africa there is
bound to be religious and political tensions which in turn breeds political violence. The Boko Haram
group is the first insurgent group in Nigeria to be classified as a terrorist organisation by the United
States of America and it Allies (Akpan, F et al: 2014). From their radical emergence in 2009 up till
date, the country has suffered vulnerability to terror, criminality and instability, starting in 2010 with a
retaliation attack for the death of their leader Mohammed Yusuf. The sect further intensified their
activities in 2011 with the bombing of the Police headquarters in Abuja the capital city and the UN
headquarters also in Abuja. All these attacks left a lot dead and a whole lot more of people injured and
displaced. This dissertation investigates the effects of the Boko haram group on the Nigerian economy
and how this in turn has brought about a domino effect of instability in the country. In this study, the
use of mainly library research shall be used to trace the sequence of Boko Haram crisis faced by the
State.
What exactly is terrorism? This word has been so incorporated into our daily lives, with the media
every day reporting on act of terrorism or the other. Terrorism is often labelled as acts of violence that

Rhetorical Appeals In Fed Up
In recent years, obesity has become one of the major health crisis in the United States. Obesity rates

Symptoms And Treatment Of Celiac Disease
Countless plagues, disorders, and diseases have cut many human lives short over the 160 thousand
years since Homo sapiens evolved from their ancestors. Since then, human s increasing knowledge of
medical science has allowed for them to thrive for much longer than their primitive predecessors.
These conditions have evolved in a costimulatory way with all species throughout life s evolution, and
although some of these situations are beneficial (symbiotic) many diseases benefit only one organism
at the expense of another (exploitative). Much like an exploitative situation an organism can cause a
disadvantageous situation for itself, such is the case in hypochondriasis which is when a person
believes that they have an illness and starts to develop symptoms because of this belief. Celiac disease
is an intestinal disorder caused by an autoimmune response to an individual s own tissue, this is
triggered by the ingestion of anything which contains gluten or gluten related products. On the other
hand, Non Celiac Gluten Sensitivity (NCGS) mimics some of the symptoms found in Celiac disease
and it is generally a self diagnosed disease. From this, it is clearly seen that NCGS is a primary
example of hypochondriasis. Celiac disease is a very real, documented medical phenomenon while
NCGS, with little proof of its actual existence, is nothing more than a placebo that has started to affect
(for the most part) those in Western society.

The Decline Of Native American And Inupiat Culture
The American government and society has played a substantial role in the decline of both the Native
American and Inupiat culture. They created inhumane boarding schools and oppressing laws that
inhibited those of a different culture from being themselves and partook in the urbanization of cultured
communities. The following practices need to be stopped and never forgotten so that such ethnocide
doesn t happen again. Boarding schools were an issue that plagued both Native Americans and
Inupiats. As conveyed by the writings of Mary Crow Dog and other Native American figures, we see
how the effects of such schools were devastating to the native population. Boarding schools wiped
Natives of their language and culture, teaching young children to be ashamed of what makes them
unique. Pupils would return from their long stays at boarding schools, unable to speak to their own
family, resulting in an isolation between themselves and their community. Over the years, generations
would eventually lose most of what makes them native and, for the most part, their culture slowly
faded away. It seems that the Inupiat people faced a similar fate. Inupiat children were forced to learn
by Western standards, eventually forgetting their crucial survival skills, language, religion and other
unique aspects of their culture. However, we are exposed to a more positive outlook towards boarding
schools in the book, Fifty Miles from Tomorrow, where William Hensley says he enjoyed his boarding
school

Mockingjay Use Of Propaganda
The term propaganda is used to describe information that is usually biased or misleading used to
promote or publicize a certain view on a cause. In the Mockingjay propaganda is used to keep the
districts in line and in favor of the Capital. As the hunger games continues a new leader arose and
began to turn people and districts against the Capital creating their own propaganda. Although this is a
fictional story, the reality of propaganda rings true. The Capital and the rebellion have different ways
of communicating their propaganda. The Capital wishes to achieve the way things used to be where
the districts supplied and feared the Capital. Whereas the rebellion wants to bring the districts together
and fight against the wrong of the Capital. The Capital and the rebellion, although different strategies,
both achieve their purpose. Throughout the story of the Mockingjay the Capital used propaganda to
try to keep and gain trust from not only the districts but also within the Capital. One way the Capital

There are myriad of point of my support in favor of conformity. The most conspicuous one is that in

Society observed Robinson s play on the field with extremely bias eyes. No matter the achievement;

Analysis Of Pariah, Directed And Written By Dee Rees Essay
LGBT is an initialism that stands for lesbian, gay, bi sexual, and transgender. It is intended to highlight
a diversity of sexuality and gender identity based cultures. Historically, LGBT people have had to deal
with being brutalised and misunderstood because of the misconception that being gay is different and
deserves different treatment. However, there are efforts being made daily by the community in order
to educate people and ease their fears. The purpose of the following analysis is to deconstruct how
people who fought back while growing up realizing they are apart of community help shaped and/or
will shape them to become strong roles for LGBT people around the world.
In this paper, I will examine how women of color who deal with the lack of acceptance growing up
because of their lesbianism help shape and/or will shape them to be future role models for LGBT
people around the world. I will be using the coming of age drama, Pariah, directed and written by Dee
Rees, as a primary source in order to argue how the cinematography in this film portrays Alike being
the epitome of embracing one s sexuality. I chose this film because it reminded me of a similar story
that touched me in the form of a book written by Audre Lorde called Zami: A New Spelling of My
Name. Standing up in what Alike believed in and taking a stand by fighting back against so many in

But behind the bright side of the main stream idea of the public, there are also dark sides in the

History Is A Repetition Of Events
History is a repetition of events: war after war, economic crisis after economic crisis, technology
outdoing itself as we speak. A line of events that for centuries have been reported by the world s oldest
storytellers: journalists. Yet, the future of journalism itself has never been as uncertain and
unpredictable as it has been in the past decade and the role of gatekeepers of news has never been
more precarious.
The digital era has brought traditional journalism to the edge, forcing the industry to update its means
in order to sustain the constant commercial pressure it is put under.
On some level, the digital era disrupted an already easily corruptible industry, while from another
perspective, it has opened new opportunities for innovation and renovation, which could mean the
restoring of such criticized profession.
It is inferable that the Fourth Estate , as in journalism acting as a watchdog and as provider of
objective and impartial news, is in great danger.
The pressure to maximise profits and the frequent censorship, both as a result of government control,
and market ownership, have undermined the industry s professionalism as a whole.
At the same time, new media has been claimed to be a dynamic tool to enhance democracy, as it
allows citizens to bypass the traditional mainstream news media and to get access to a plurality of
information coming from alternative and independent news providers and online watchdog
organizations, untouched by any kind of pressure.

The Federal Budget Process Essay
Running head: The Federal Budget Process The Federal Budget Process Abstract This report focuses
on the federal budget process of the United States of America. The annual federal budget begins with a
detailed proposal from the President in February. The budget request is developed by the President s
Office of Management and Budget (OMB). Next, Congress creates a blueprint called a budget
resolution that sets limits on how much each committee can spend (or reduce revenues) over the
course of the year. The terms of the budget resolution are then enforced against individual
appropriations, entitlement bills, and tax bills on the House and Senate floors. In addition, Congress

Second, the president uses the budget request to lay out his relative priorities for federal programs
(Myers, et al, 1989; Policy Basics, 2011). The President s budget is very specific, and recommends
funding levels for individual federal programs or small groups of programs called budget accounts.
The budget typically sketches out fiscal policy and budget priorities not only for the year but for the
next five years or more. It is also accompanied by historical tables that set our past budget figures
(Policy Basics, 2011 Para 4). The third role that the President s budget plays is that it can be used to
alert Congress of what spending and tax policy changes the President recommends. It is not necessary
for the President to propose legislative changes for those parts of the budget that are governed by
permanent law if he feels none are needed (Policy Basics, 2011). Majority of the federal tax code is set
in permanent law, and will not expire. Similarly, more than one half of federal spending including the
three largest entitlement programs (Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security) is also permanently
enacted. Interest paid on the national debt is also paid automatically, with no need for specific
legislation. (There is, however, a

The ingenious way Brooks uses denotation in this poem helps explain that although some African
American teenagers may often think of themselves as being cool for dropping out of school, staying
out late, fighting, and drinking they know in actuality that these corrupt things they are taking part of
will lead to a broken, shortened life.
Brooks uses sound devices to suggest that although some African Americans may often think of
themselves as being cool for dropping out of school, which gives them time to engage in sinful
activities will inevitably result in a broken, short life. Brooks uses pauses in the middle of lines called
cesura s to aid in helping the audience see how the brokenness of ideas and sound contributes to the

We

Here, in lines 5 6, it is obvious when read how the brokenness in the middle of the line contributes to
the meaning of the poem. Brooks also uses run on lines to emphasize in sound the fact that when
African American teenagers decide it is cool to drop out they are beginning a headlong run into death.

The pancreas is located partially behind the stomach in the abdomen. The pancreas is a mixed gland
composed of endocrine and exocrine gland cells. These cells are called acinar cells. Acinar cells,
forming the bulk of the gland, produce an enzyme rich juice that is ducted into the small intestine
during food digestion.
Scattered among the acinar cells are approximately a million pancreatic islets (islets of Langerhans),
minute cell clusters that produce pancreatic hormones. The islets contain two major populations of
hormone producing cells, the glucagen synthesizing alpha cells and the more numerous insulin
producing beta cells. Insulin and glucagons are intimately but independently involved in the regulation
of the blood glucose levels. Their effects are opposite: Insulin is a hypoglycemic hormone (lowers
blood sugar), whereas glucagon is a hyperglycemic hormone (increases blood glucose.) Islet cells also
synthesize other peptides in small amounts. These include somatostatin

The Dragon Who We Soon Discover
I had qualms at first about how exactly to complete a task such as this, being that my experience with
this type of writing is limited at best. However, I will confess there is much fun to be found in the
fanciful wordplay. Not only are we asked to fill in a piece of the story, requiring knowledge of the plot
line at this point in the story, but the task also prompts a deeper understanding of the literary devices
and influences present in this style of writing. A task of this nature not only familiarizes students with
both the plot line and the technical aspects of the writing, but also fosters an opportunity to
incorporate creativity and merge all of these dynamic fragments into a single masterpiece.
To begin, I considered the surrounding plot of the story. Just before the section begins we learn of the
dragon who we soon discover is a major player in this epic tale. Thus far in the story the dragon has
played a rather dormant role. Beowulf has been ruling the kingdom for over 50 years and we have

point we are also introduced to an escaped slave who wakes the fiery beast by stealing a gem studded
goblet from the lair. He claims that his thievery was in fact accidental, and so proceeds the tale of his
misadventures in the earthen pit. His story recounts that as he was escaping the chains of slavery he
unknowingly stumbled upon the lair, by chance finding himself amid the

Computational Scale Out Workloads Applications
Abstract Scale out workloads are applications that are typically executed in a cloud environment and
exhibit high level of request level parallelism. Such workloads benefit from processor organizations
with very high core count since multiple requests can be serviced simultaneously by threads running
on these cores. The characteristics of these workloads indicate that they have high instruction
footprints exceeding the capacities of private caches, operate on large datasets with limited reuse and
have minimal coherence activity due to lesser data sharing. The characteristics also indicate that the
active instruction window can be captured by a Last Level Cache (LLC) size of 8MB. New processor
organizations have been discussed in literature that tailors the interconnection among cores to match
the communication pattern arising out of the characteristics of scale out workloads. The focus of the
current work is to take the approach of separating a core and LLC bank from a single tile as specified
in literature and design a different interconnection topology for cores and LLC banks to reduce the
latency of accessing the LLC to improve performance. In the current work, four cores and a LLC bank
are designed to connect to a router forming a star topology and the routers ( 4) are designed to form a
2D flattened butterfly topology. The current design has been targeted at 8 cores and has been
implemented using the Bluespec System Verilog HDL (Hardware Description Language) and the

Barnhill V. Child Pornography Wiki
A longtime D.C. police officer was accused of prostituting teenage girls. Officer Linwood Barnhill Jr
was charged with two counts of pandering a minor for the purpose of prostitution and one count of
child pornography. Child Pornography, Wiki means: is pornography that exploits children for sexual
stimulation. Officer Barnhill was with the force for 24 years and was assigned to the 7th District in
Southeast Washington. He met two teenage girls in various places in 2103 and recruited them as
models before arranging for them to meet older men for trysts costing up to $80.00 with $20.00 going
to the Officer. (Pandering: is the act of providing what someone else needs or requires. As it relates to
the law, pandering is the act of recruiting prostitutes, and soliciting clients for prostitutes.) Sec. 43.01

which Police Chief Cathy Lanier said that the allegations had tarnished the reputation of her force.
Barnhill was 6 foot 6, 300 pounds. Barnhill was ordered to be detained until a preliminary hearing that
was scheduled that week. According to documents, one of the 16 year old girls had gone missing and
her family reported her as such. Her family started their own investigation into their daughter s
disappearance. The parents traced her to the Stanton Road Apartments where Barnhill lived. The girl
never engaged in prostitution for Barnhill, but prosecutors say other women did, including a 15 year
old. Prosecutors say Barnhill took nude pictures of the 15 year old and a 17 year old and filmed the 17
year old performing oral sex on

The Benefits Of Video Games Is A Waste Of Time
Ever wonder why children start playing video games at such a young age? Most parents would argue
that videogames are a waste of time, and that children are receiving no long term benefits. Some video
games are designed to enhance motor skills that can help with real life situations. A few skills that can
be strengthened are reaction time and social skills. Not only do video games enhance motor skills,
they can also teach the player a little bit of lessons learned in schools depending on the game.Video
games can become an essential part of fundamental developing.
Video games have been around for decades, and have made revolutionary strides.William
Higinbotham an American physicist who created the first nuclear bomb and also invented the very
first video game Tennis for Two in 1958 (Tretkoff). Video games back then were at a basic start to see
what game developers can do next. There are many video games that require certain skills such as
reaction time. Racing games or any video game that requires driving can enhance the player s reaction
time and help defensive driving in real life. Many driving games such as Forza, Gran Turismo, and
Grand Theft Auto can help with reaction time and driving skills. In Grand Theft Auto the gamer plays
as a criminal and there are many car chase missions and the player has to maneuver through traffic,
alleyways, and avoiding pedestrians all at the same time. These skills are essential and can help in real
life driving situations such as stop

  • 2. Alex Sander Case Study An organization s long term success in meeting its strategic objectives rests with its ability to manage employee performance and ensure that performance measures are consistent with the organizational needs (Mello, 2015, p. 438). In the case study of Alex Sander, this is exactly what the manager s need to think about in regards to developing Sander. Sam Glass, Product Group Supervisor for Landon care products has his work cut out for him in regards to his very aggressive ego driven yet valuable employee in the organization. While trying to implement a new 360° performance feedback method for the first time, how can Sam channel Alex s talent and ensure success both for Alex as an individual and for the organization? A main purpose of a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... We can clearly see from this case study that Alex has some deficiencies in performance levels that Glass has to address and determine specific training and development needs to help both Alex and the organization. The trickle effect of the negative impact Sander has on is team as much as there is a personal interest to retain Sander, is the possibility of seeing other employee turnover. This case study gives us the impression that Alex is not open to the feedback that will be provided in the 360° performance review. Sander is aware of anger and temper issues but actually views it as strengths and a great management tool. We understand that Sander intends to disregard this feedback but we must also understand is that this review process is new to the organization. We have a twofold issue here as the case study articulates to us through Sam Glass, that many people in the organization feel the same way about the 360° performance review. Perhaps this is the first issue that needs to be addressed and the managers need to first see the value in this review process and have a better understanding of its mechanics before they roll it out. By reinforcing the idea to an already inflexible high achiever that they are not alone is the disapproval of this process does not set the appropriate foundation for this organization to fully benefit from what the 360° performance review ... The melancholy tone of the poem acts like a unifying current, pervading the text of the poem and saturating it with a feeling of peace mingled with undertones of sadness. Divided into two octaves, the poem first depicts the nature of the ocean referring to it as quiet and alone then the second half of the poem contrasts typical graves with the graves of mariners beneath the sea (2). The poem also relies on a detached observer to act as the speaker to directly connect the audience to the image of the ocean which it is describing. To strengthen data integrity and create an integrated IT system, the organization installed a billing system, Gateway, which required testing utilizing an imitation yet live credit card number to test the software and integration. Several months after integration, a piracy incident involving a member of the integration team was detected. The incident was resolved with assistance from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) with the Operations team employee, Chris, warned and suspended with a formal warning letter to be completed. Due to a conversation between the employee and his manager, Jonathan, the letter was not written and months later the behavior of the employee raised suspicions with Jonathan indicating potential fraud. Its unusual to be told that another race is better than or less than anyone else s, I believe this is something that our future generation takes for granted and loses sight of . Doing researches on this book , writing an essay for it , and just reading the book by itself has humbled me a little bit and really has opened my eyes to realize that we do take our freedom for granted and that goes for every race out there. The last reason I have chosen to write about interracial relationships obtaining to the book is because, I would like to point out the good , genuine forbidden love between Cora and Uncas , I really liked that they had a sort of Romeo and Juliet tragedy with them both being younger adults , whose family are both enemies , they are both willing to do anything to be together even if it cost their lives. They both believe that their race should not define them , or stop them from falling in love with one each other . Some things I learned and hope others have learned from this book is that things are not as they seem and that there is a picture behind the bigger picture. • 17. The Importance Of Perfection In We Were Liars It is true that no one is perfect. One can then assume that people should strive to be perfect either. Perfection is boring anyways. 6.15 percent of the U.S. has depression, and 18 percent have anxiety. It is the most common mental illness in America. The reason of this is because we always try to reach perfection, and people are disappointed when it does not happen. This is shown a multitude of times in We Were Liars. Trying to be perfect causes so much heartache that could be avoided. People need to realize that perfection is boring, and being the best them is better. Not one of these symbols of prosperity and taste has any use at all. (Lockhart 45). This quote from We Were Liars is very true. Basically what it is saying is this: in the end, all of these pretty things and expensive brands is not going to mean anything. My Liars, my darlings. I killed them. (Lockhart 209). It is like here in the book. Cadence finds out her best friends are dead, and all the other things her family worried about means nothing. The reason that people are attached to materialistic things because they feel it makes them better and boosts their status. People want to 2 boost their status to reach some sort of perfection. If they would realize that other things matter more than perfection and materialistic things, then they would not seem so important anymore. Race is another thing that society tries to pull apart and perfect. He was a stranger in our family even after all those years. (Lockhart 30). This quote shows that race is, in fact, an issue that people pick at. Usually it is people who think they are perfect. Anyone who thinks this is just plain wrong. Any person who believes they are better than someone because of their race is wrong. The Sinclair family tries so hard to be perfect that it hurts others. Meaning Gat. They push him away and make him feel alienated because they are worried of what other people might think. No one should be hurt at someone else s hand, just because they think they are superior to the other person. People try so hard to be perfect that it hurts them. The Boko Haram group is the first insurgent group in Nigeria to be classified as a terrorist organisation by the United States of America and it Allies (Akpan, F et al: 2014). From their radical emergence in 2009 up till date, the country has suffered vulnerability to terror, criminality and instability, starting in 2010 with a retaliation attack for the death of their leader Mohammed Yusuf. The sect further intensified their activities in 2011 with the bombing of the Police headquarters in Abuja the capital city and the UN headquarters also in Abuja. All these attacks left a lot dead and a whole lot more of people injured and displaced. This dissertation investigates the effects of the Boko haram group on the Nigerian economy and how this in turn has brought about a domino effect of instability in the country. • 25. Symptoms And Treatment Of Celiac Disease Countless plagues, disorders, and diseases have cut many human lives short over the 160 thousand years since Homo sapiens evolved from their ancestors. Since then, human s increasing knowledge of medical science has allowed for them to thrive for much longer than their primitive predecessors. These conditions have evolved in a costimulatory way with all species throughout life s evolution, and although some of these situations are beneficial (symbiotic) many diseases benefit only one organism at the expense of another (exploitative). Much like an exploitative situation an organism can cause a disadvantageous situation for itself, such is the case in hypochondriasis which is when a person believes that they have an illness and starts to develop symptoms because of this belief. Celiac disease is an intestinal disorder caused by an autoimmune response to an individual s own tissue, this is triggered by the ingestion of anything which contains gluten or gluten related products. On the other hand, Non Celiac Gluten Sensitivity (NCGS) mimics some of the symptoms found in Celiac disease and it is generally a self diagnosed disease. From this, it is clearly seen that NCGS is a primary example of hypochondriasis. • 26. The Decline Of Native American And Inupiat Culture The American government and society has played a substantial role in the decline of both the Native American and Inupiat culture. They created inhumane boarding schools and oppressing laws that inhibited those of a different culture from being themselves and partook in the urbanization of cultured communities. The following practices need to be stopped and never forgotten so that such ethnocide doesn t happen again. Boarding schools were an issue that plagued both Native Americans and Inupiats. As conveyed by the writings of Mary Crow Dog and other Native American figures, we see how the effects of such schools were devastating to the native population. Boarding schools wiped Natives of their language and culture, teaching young children to be ashamed of what makes them unique. Pupils would return from their long stays at boarding schools, unable to speak to their own family, resulting in an isolation between themselves and their community. Over the years, generations would eventually lose most of what makes them native and, for the most part, their culture slowly faded away. It seems that the Inupiat people faced a similar fate. Inupiat children were forced to learn by Western standards, eventually forgetting their crucial survival skills, language, religion and other unique aspects of their culture. However, we are exposed to a more positive outlook towards boarding schools in the book, Fifty Miles from Tomorrow, where William Hensley says he enjoyed his boarding school ... The annual federal budget begins with a detailed proposal from the President in February. The budget request is developed by the President s Office of Management and Budget (OMB). Next, Congress creates a blueprint called a budget resolution that sets limits on how much each committee can spend (or reduce revenues) over the course of the year. The budget typically sketches out fiscal policy and budget priorities not only for the year but for the next five years or more. It is also accompanied by historical tables that set our past budget figures (Policy Basics, 2011 Para 4). The third role that the President s budget plays is that it can be used to alert Congress of what spending and tax policy changes the President recommends. It is not necessary for the President to propose legislative changes for those parts of the budget that are governed by permanent law if he feels none are needed (Policy Basics, 2011). Majority of the federal tax code is set in permanent law, and will not expire. Computational Scale Out Workloads Applications Abstract Scale out workloads are applications that are typically executed in a cloud environment and exhibit high level of request level parallelism. Such workloads benefit from processor organizations with very high core count since multiple requests can be serviced simultaneously by threads running on these cores. The characteristics of these workloads indicate that they have high instruction footprints exceeding the capacities of private caches, operate on large datasets with limited reuse and have minimal coherence activity due to lesser data sharing. The characteristics also indicate that the active instruction window can be captured by a Last Level Cache (LLC) size of 8MB. New processor organizations have been discussed in literature that tailors the interconnection among cores to match the communication pattern arising out of the characteristics of scale out workloads.
