Dance Movement In African American Culture
1. In African cultures, they believe in creating a positive environment for the gods by singing and dancing,
with the hope that the attention will cause the gods, to grant their request. The African also believe that
without the body and spirit there will be no god. In the Indian culture, they believe that dance the body and
spirit are one, and therefore it cannot be separated. The Indian s also believe that the body and spirit work
together in unity or as one. Lastly, both the Africans and Indians believe the body is the temple of the spirit.
2. The difference between dance movement and sports movement are that dance is used to communicate by
using movement in conjunction with music. In addition, dance can also be considered an art form

Review Of The Elder Scrolls
Another Bethesda game and yes, it is great! Okay, I will elaborate my opinion; Bethesda makes lots of great
role playing (RPG) games with open world environments. Although, I never could understand why Bethesda
likes to kick off their amazing voice actors off the face of the Earth. I m pretty sure if Bethesda was able to
cast Mel Blanc and James Earl Jones as voice actors they would probably be either Gordon Freeman or Link.
In The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, they kill off Patrick Stewart in addition to that we get ten minutes of Liam
Neeson in Fallout 3. This game has a gripping and expansive showcase of how much depth and great
excitement can be packed into one videogame. It does justice to the rest of the Fallout franchise, including ...

Like Red Dead Redemption, I would recommend the Game of the Year Edition since you get the most of the
game. Along with that similarity, Fallout also has a slow motion mechanic called the Vault Tec Assisted
Targeting or V.A.T.S. system, where you are able to pick what part of the target s body like head, body, limbs
or weapons to shoot off. The gameplay is solid and the story is decent, it is best to ignore most of the story
because of it being a pretty bland story telling, but I would recommend reading the story and the newspaper
through the land to give the game character.
NITPICK CENTER: Straight off the bat of Fallout 3, you are giving the trauma of the game s opening, in
which you are dumped bleary eyed and bloodstained straight out of the womb. Then the game expects you, a
newborn baby, to come up with a gender, name, and future appearance. I personally find it rude to put that
much pressure on a baby. Then the story goes Christopher Nolan by skipping parts of your life. Afterwards,
your father, Liam Neeson, ditches you and leaves the vault you have been living in your entire life. Being
motherless since your mom died giving birth and Liam Neeson ended up like Picard, you are also fatherless.
Then when the protagonist is ready to step out in the real world, the immersion breaks when the game says,
Hey, are you satisfied with your first ten minutes of the game because if you aren t just step into this
DeLorean and travel back to the past? I just do

Though many critics of Celgene would call the corporation s decision to raise prices a genuinely greedy and
selfish act, Smith sees nothing wrong with such a move. On this issue Smith states that an individuals self
centered motives often improve society: By pursuing his own interests he frequently promotes that of the
society more effectually than when he really intends to promote it (Donaldson, 167). Given Celgene s
perceived self centered actions, Smith would note that this type of free market behavior is positive and is
guided by an invisible hand which helps such behavior to be beneficial to society as a whole. The next
philosopher to be examined would argue that the invisible hand that Smith speaks of is indeed separate from
the political realm. Milton Friedman continues with Smith s line of logic as he asserts that the chief concern of
the businessman must be to make a profit under socially acceptable means and that the defining of social
responsibilities must be left in the political sphere. Celgene s chief executive, John Jackson, was the primary
force behind the company s decision to raise prices. Jackson s actions are perfectly ethical according to
Friedman who writes, What does it mean to say that the corporate executive has a social responsibility in his

Traumatic Brain Disorder (TBI)
1.5 million people in the United State of America have a traumatic brain disorder (TBI). These disorders have
symptoms of memory dysfunction, depression and anxiety; Dr. Byrnes and her team at the Uniformed
Services University have examined mouse models to find the cellular mechanisms for these symptoms. When
the brain experiences a traumatic injury, several cellular level events happen quickly. First, there is an increase
in supporting cell membrane permeability which leads to a rise in non specific ion influx, followed by a rapid
increase in glucose uptake. This increased glucose uptake results in increased in energy generation in an effort
to correct the membrane permeability dysfunction.
The major route neurons use to increase their glucose

Mr Hyde Duality
Both the novel The Picture of Dorian Gray and Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde support the duality of human
personality. However, Stevenson argues that one has no choice but to follow their evil desires, where as Wilde
argues that society and influence cause people to follow their desires. Corruption of man exists in both novels,
in The Picture of Dorian Gray society makes one corrupt, but in Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde society controls evil
desires that may otherwise take over one s personality. The duality of humans has been explored by many, and
both novels agree that one has both evil and good desires. Furthermore, the novels also support the importance
of appearance as a critical part of maintaining ones good side. Human nature can be both good and evil as
Jekyll would say man is not one but two . Jekyll and Hyde show this duality by each taking one side of
Dr.Jekyll s personality. In The Picture of Dorian Gray the portrait absorbs all the evil of Dorians actions
leaving him endlessly youthful. In both cases something represents the evil side of humans and one that

opening statement of the Nurse that Medea is a very heartless towards anyone who has crossed her. Once
Jason s betrayal is exposed to Medea, she immediately starts to thinks of in a murderous mentality toward

Characters Medea was born under king Aetees of Colchis as a witch princess. As a youth she met Jason the

homeland of Colchis by aiding Jason in the retrieval of the Golden Fleece. After this she was forced to leave

Tax Havens And Its Effects On America
In addition to allowing corporations to store billions of untaxed dollars, tax havens are also used to support
dictators and undemocratic societies. All dictators like Muammar Gaddafi have had billions of dollars stashed
in tax havens all around the world. Tax havens are also used as the principal route through which laundered
money escapes developing countries. (Palan)
The reason tax havens exist, is for the same reason why they existed 50 years ago; to attract money and
investments from around the world. When multibillion dollar corporations put billions of dollars in the
banking system, it gives the local economy of that country a little boost. That stored in the banks can now be

Corporations have gone far too long without paying taxes. It s easy to recognize that the main objective of
corporations is to make more profit regardless of how it s done. This greed brought on by the top companies
in the world has cost America $100 billion a year. If these companies would like to take advantage of the
biggest market in the world, then they should respect the laws put in place for that country. With that being
said, we the people, who buy these products, must make a stand and demand that these companies operate
fairly. We know how much money is being lost, where it s being stashed, and what countries are helping this
happen. As the most powerful country in the world we must take a lead and implement new international
policies that will make corporate tax evasion something of the past.
Even with all these reasons on why corporate tax evasions are bad, there are still some arguments saying that
the current tax system is fine as it is. These arguments usually derive from the fear of change. People are
scared of the actions that these companies will take in order to counter act the new law set by the government.
The main argument comes for allowing tax evasion is that corporate tax evasion makes products cheaper for
consumers. While this is a possibility, it also doesn t make sense. The whole reason corporations evade taxes
in the first place, is to make as much profit as possible. So why would these corporations

A Historical Day For The American Nation
November 5th 2008 was a historical day for the American nation. On this day President Barack Obama gave
his victory speech. In the speech Obama addressed multiple things that he wants to accomplish. He uses many
ways to connect with the audience and gives them hope to change America. He remains humble and shows
character by giving all the credit to the people. He uses a lot of ethos, pathos and logos to persuade the
audience that he will do good and honest work in the office. Ethos is the author s credibility, character,
honesty and accomplishment. The author attempts to appear honest and knowledgeable. An example of ethos
can be found when he refers to himself at the unlikeliest candidate, I was never the unlikeliest candidate for
this office. Being the unlikeliest candidate and winning the elections shows that Obama is hardworking and
will not give up. On top of that he does not brag about winning but give all the credit to the people. These are
good qualities that people want the president to have and this shows that he going to work hard in the office.
Another example can be found when he is talking about how his campaign started and the support he was
getting at the start of the campaign. He says, It began in the backyards of Des Moines and the living rooms of
Concord and the front porches of Charleston. This shows how his journey to the white house began and how
hard he had to work to get there. Unlike many other candidates who got large funds from private

John Cages Research Paper
The music of John Cage is highly criticized, yet highly revered within the same societal realm. The question
that has yet to be answered, even after fifty plus years, is John Cages music really music or is it just noise?
The dictionary definition of music is the following: vocal or instrumental sounds (or both) combined in such a
way as to produce beauty of form, harmony, and expression of emotion. My personal version of the definition
of music is a variant of the definition listed above. I believe that music is the combination of vocal,
instrumental sounds, or silence (or all the above) produced in a way to express a feeling or emotion. Based on
my own personal definition of music, I do consider John Cages pieces to be music.
A question ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
it is my opinion that this John Cage piece is considered music. John Cage talks about how all you need for
noise to be music is for there to be sound created in some form and fashion and for the sound to create
rhythmic patterns. I agree with him in that sense. Music is simply different sounds combined in different
rhythms. However, simply because my definition of music similarly matches with John Cage s definition
doesn t mean that the listener must modify their definition, because in any definition of music that a person
creates they cannot argue the fact that music is varying sounds combined with rhythm. But John Cage music
isn t simply about the music itself, but he argues that it s also about the performance. Each time a piece is
performed the audience will be different, the performer may be feeling different, and therefore, the piece will
be different. For Water Walk specifically, it doesn t include any visual effects nor would they be necessary for
the performance. There is a visual stimulant when watching him start a new contraption to create each sound,
however it is not necessary for those visuals to be seen by the audience to listen to the

Boredom Is A State Of Mind
Boredom is a state of mind that hinders everyone at some point in life. I find that I encounter boredom most
during the summer when I am free from the constraints of school and social life. This state of mind could lead
someone to do some pretty outrageous things, whether that be very small or life changing. Life could
completely change because of one stupid mistake made when bored. When looking back before the mistake, it
seems a lot better than it does now. I have experienced an instance similar to the one described. It was during
the summer of 2016, and I was going through a state of boredom. I had the mindset that anything is better than
the feeling of boredom, even pain. There was a week, during the summer in particular, when my thoughts and
mindset really affected me. I felt like I was wasting my life by not doing things with my time. I know this is a
drastic response to a couple weeks of boredom; however, I tried to spend time with my best friend, but she
was busy working and our plans always seemed to fall through. All I wanted was to be alone to sulk about my
boring and uneventful life. I found the perfect spot to do just that; it was the roof of my house. There was a
different atmosphere when I sat on the roof; I felt truly alone with my thoughts. I visited this spot multiple
times during the week when life seemed too heavy to hold.
Thursday was the day of the accident. I was frustrated with my life. I spent the majority of my time in school,

Mothers And Daughters In Eudora Welty s The Joy Luck Club
Perhaps the most intriguing and interesting biographical theme that is repeated throughout the novels is the
traditional mother daughter dynamics and expectations. The importance of family and filial respect for parents
is a crucial part of East Asian culture. The family has and still is often called the basic social unit in China
(Welty 198). In Asian culture children are required to be obedient and respectful in all cases to their parents
(Welty 253). Mother and daughter relationships are an especially intriguing dynamic because in the traditional
cultures, women were often second class and did not retain much respect. This idea is explored in The Joy

Daughters saw their mothers to be lost in the past. When Thanh is unable to adjust to the American way of life
Mai thinks, But somehow at that moment, my mother imperfect and unable to adjust, died in my mind (Cao

Clair in The Joy Luck Club reiterates this idea of separation and misunderstanding as she describes her
relationship with her mother as lost, unseen, and unheard (Tan 64). The power in the relationships between
mother and daughters, however, is strong and immigrants can overcome their differences and find restoration
and healing. Thanh describes her powerful connection with her daughter when she writes, It will always be
there, of course. Even Mai has worked her way into accepting that fact, the fact of our connection, strong and
steady like the heart s vascular valves (Cao 169). The conclusion of The Joy Luck Club follows this theme of
the unbreakable bond between mothers and daughters, even when facing the challenges of Asian assimilation.
Jing mei Woo, the daughter who is plagued the most with her unfulfilled duties as a daughter, travels to China
to meet her older Chinese sisters. She describes, Together we look like our mother. Her same eyes, her same
mouth, open in surprise to see, at last, her long cherished wish (Tan 332).

Child Observation On Human Development

For this observation project we were supposed to watch two different groups of people whose ages range from
two to twenty. So we could apply our knowledge of human growth and development to test the effectiveness
of current theories and research on development. For my observations I watched two different groups, group A
were ages three to four and group B were ages eighteen to twenty. Group A, I observed on a warm, bright
sunny Monday afternoon. I watched the children as they played on the playground behind the Lions Club

one boy as they played. One of the little girls in the group had long blonde hair and was wearing a pink ...

All the females in the group appeared to have strong memory skills. The children were able to follow complex

more interested in a bug in the sand. This behavior reinforces Flavell, when he said that children s attention is
more like a flash of light that focus on what it wants (Woolfolk Perry, 2015, p. 230). After, examining the bug
for a while he began to play as superman. Playing pretend helps children develop better social skills, self
control, and they understand the perspective of others (Woolfolk Perry, 2015, p. 242). While observing group
B they performed the task of sitting around, talking, and laughing very well. The females in the groups

in the group seemed to have a problem with memory skills. While watching Group B, the male with the pink

males within the group seems to be struggling with imaginary audience. Imaginary Audience is the feeling
that everyone is watching (Woolfolk Perry, 2015, p. 513). This was probably caused by the excusive use of the

The Consumption Of Cow Milk, It Has Become Highly Consumed...
Introduction Since the discovery of the nutritional benefits associated with the consumption of cow s milk, it
has become highly consumed within the western diet and worldwide (Kanekanian 2014). However, health
concerns arose in the late nineteenth and early twentieth Centuries due to an increase in infant mortality and
milk borne illnesses relating to the consumption of raw cow s milk (Knechtges 2012). This became an
increasing public health concern and highlighted the growing need to introduce and enforce laws and
legalisations relating to the processing and sale of cow s milk. In 1864 Louis Pasteur discovered pasteurisation
was an effective processing method for destroying pathogenic microorganisms responsible for foodborne
illness present in beverages; prolonging its life and quality (Brown 2015). Current laws and legislations now
state milk must undergo this process before being sold for retail sale and intended for human consumption.
Yet, there is still a growing demand for the sale of raw cow s milk due to beliefs in greater nutritional benefits
if consumed. This creates a growing public health concern to ensure safe laws and legislations are in place and
practice. This paper investigates the introduction of a new milk processing technique allowing for the sale of
raw milk which undergoes a high water pressure processing (HPP) technique and whether it is an effective
alternate processing method. Moreover, it identifies the human health risks associated with the

Nurture Plays a More Dominant Role in Human s Development...
Humans are unique and intricate creatures and their development is a complex process. It is this process that
leads people to question, is a child s development influenced by genetics or their environment? This long
debate has been at the forefront of psychology for countless decades now and is better known as Nature
versus Nurture . The continuous controversy on whether or not children develop their psychological attributes
based on genetics (nature) or the way in which they have been raised (nurture) has pondered the minds of
psychologists for years. Through thorough experiments, studies, and discussions however, it is easy to see that
nurture is far more important in the development of a human than nature.
The Nature versus Nurture argument can be traced back many millenniums ago. In 350 B.C., philosophers
asked the same question on human behaviour. Plato and Aristotle were two philosophers that each had two
diverse views on the matter. Plato believed that knowledge and behaviour were due to inherent factors, but
environmental factors still played a role in the equation. Conversely, Aristotle had different views. He
believed in the idea of Tabula Rasa .

Review Selection of a Standardized Test
Introduction
Test administrators should understand and clarify why the test taker is being assessed,(American Educational
Research, 2014). Additionally, they should also understand why certain tests, inventories, and diagnostic
procedures are selected. As a student, in the process of achieving a Master s degree in clinical psychology, it is
essential to be aware of the reasons for certain tests, their reliability, and validity. This especially true for a
clinical psychologist, which I plan to become. Clinical psychologists identify psychological, emotional, and
behavioral concerns. Eventually, those issues are diagnosed. Then, treatment plans are developed and
implemented. This would not be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It targets executive functions like impulse control, flexible problem solving skills, controlling emotional
responses, regulating behavior in social settings, generating ideas and initiating activities, cognitive skills,
planning, and organizing, and lastly, task monitoring, (Roth et al, 2005). The last test, that will be reviewed, is
Conners Comprehensive Behavior Rating Scales (CBRS). The target population, for this test, includes
individuals whose ages range from 6 to 18. Conners CBRS was created to assess a wide range of behaviors,
emotions, social functioning, and academic issues, in order to diagnose, develop, and monitor treatment plans
for the individual, (Conners, 2015). Conners CBRS, also, aids with special education classification,
intervention planning, progress monitoring, and research.
Element 2 In this next section, the three selected tests will be reviewed for their appropriateness of test
content, skills tested, and content coverage for the intended purpose of testing, (Code, 2004, p. 5, See #2).
ASEBA s behavior checklist and self reports contains DSM Oriented, syndrome, competence, and adaptive
functioning scales that target specific behavior, thought, emotions, and social interactions, (Lacalle et al,
2012). As a result, this test can provide appropriate behavioral treatment plans. When Lacelle, Ezpeleta, and
Doménech evaluated this test,

Bowdoin Social Phenomenon
Bowdoin College, better known as the Bowdoin bubble, has within it sociological phenomenon that helps it
maintain social cohesion. One of these social phenomenon is the Bowdoin hello. The Bowdoin hello is the act
of students greeting one another on campus and downtown. However, the practice of this tradition has
extended itself to people in cars at crosswalks and random people on the Bowdoin campus. This phenomenon
maintains social cohesion on campus because it attempts draws together a community that is constantly
changing. With the incoming diversity on campus it serves to reaffirm what Bowdoin stands for, a welcoming
community for everyone. The Bowdoin hello creates a norm, which in turn creates an identity of what a

I will examine the material that they distribute to the incoming class that pertains to etiquette and norms
displayed on campus. Then I will engage in informal conversations ethnographically as a complete participant
with students about their views and uses of the Bowdoin hello. By immersing myself as a complete participant
I will be able to receive answers that have more credibility. I will also utilize my personal experiences from
when I entered Bowdoin as a first year and I will attempt to breach the phenomenon to observe the outcome.
The social location, which is Bowdoin s campus, will enable my ability to observe the phenomenon because it
is exclusive to Bowdoin. However, my social location might constrain my ability in that reactions might be
bias for or against the phenomenon depending on whether the person uses this custom or not. I believe this is
the best method because it will enable me to see how this norm is introduced and manifested over time in the
community. Before entering Bowdoin students are told on campus tours and in info sessions about customs
that are particular to Bowdoin. They are told that a Bowdoin student strives for the common good and engages
in the Bowdoin hello. While on the tour they see their tour guide wave hello to all the people that pass by
whether they know them or not. However, this is not the case when you are actually a student on campus and

The Legend Of King Arthur
King Arthur King Arthur was one of Britain s and Wale s most influential literary figures from the early 800 s.
Through the ages more caught on to these Arthurian Legends, and they began to embrace them as part of their
culture. Some believe that he is only a legend, yet others believe that there is even an Arthur living among us
today. While growing up, Arthur was oblivious to his heritage. From becoming a King at the age of 16, Arthur
showed courage and strength in the darkest of times. This is why King Arthur, a mythological legend, was a
brave warrior and man at heart whose betrayal and death influenced today s society through literature, art, and
even on screen productions.
There are many legends of King Arthur s life, yet there is little knowledge of his childhood. Although Arthur
was a king, he did not have the same upbringing as most noblemen and women. His father,
A warrior King named Uther Pendragon the ruler of Britain. With magical help from his advisor, Merlin the
Enchanter, King Uther tricked his rival s wife Igraine and conceived Arthur at Tintagel Castle. As part of the
bargain with Uther, Merlin then took the infant Arthur away from Tintagel, to the house of Sir Ector, where he
was brought up as a foster son, ignorant of his heritage. ( Legend of King Arthur )
When he was about 16, a sword appeared in a stone. Hearing the news, Arthur went along with his Foster
brother, Kay, to England to see this magnificent sword and try to remove it. This

A focus group provides the ideal setting from which to gather unbiased, authentic and in depth information.
However, a focus group is only a success if the moderator creates a suitable setting for directing, recording
and analysing discussions in a natural and unbiased manner. Planning, directing and recording focus groups
does not create problems for researchers, but analysing information takes a great deal of time and expertise.
And yet while analysing information is the most important step in focus group research, it is also where most
researchers fail to deliver. The findings of a focus group are valuable only if the researcher analyses the
information in a fair and unbiased manner, which is, unfortunately, not always the case. It is not unheard of for
some researchers to filter out what they don t want to hear, create presentations based on what they think they
have heard, or in fact, not analyse the information at all.
A vast amount of information is discussed during a focus

Growing Up In Ancient Hawaiian Culture
Growing up in an environment filled with a variety of cultures, there are words that mean different things and
are used in different ways. In Hawaii, there is an official language, but there is also a slang language, pidgin ,
that was used during the era where sugar plantations were very popular. They created this language so that
people of different ethnicities could communicate with one another as they traveled from other countries such
as, Japan, China, Philippines, and Korea. Today, pidgin and the Native Hawaiian language are used amongst
the locals allowing us to connect on another level by keeping our culture alive. Some words, however; have
changed since ancestral times from something innocent to something derogatory and insulting. The word,
haole , pronounced hau lay , was used to describe Captain Cook and his men, today; this word is used to
describe Caucasian people and is used as an insult amongst one another. ... Show more content on

Growing up, it was taught to us in elementary school, that this word means, without breath . It was used to
describe Captain Cook and his men when they first approached the islands since they did not partake in a

race as racism was not a traditional Hawaiian way of thinking. Haole was just used to either describe someone
different than yourself, something uncommon in Hawaii, or originating outside of

Texas Tornado Research Paper
On March 28, 2000, our city of Fort Worth was hit by an F3 tornado. After hearing about tornados on the
news year after year, I decided to write on the tornado that hit Fort Worth because it happened when I was a
kid and I can recall how the buildings looked like for a while after the storm and how the downtown area has
evolved over the years after the tornado. I also find it to be interesting in finding out why we are hit so often.
Texas is one of the hardest states hit by tornados. According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric
Administration, there are on average 155 tornados in Texas per year since 1991 2010. This is an impressive
number compared to other states. Texas, is known to be in what is popularly known as tornado alley. The ...

The tornado that struck downtown Fort Worth was an F2 tornado on the Fujita scale, but an F3 on the
Enhanced Fujita scale. The thunderstorms that the tornado arose from brought flash floods, strong winds, and
hail. The tornado funnel developed directly over the city, descended, and stayed on the ground for at least 15
min (Brewster, 2004). The path of the tornado was recorded and after examining the damage it was
determined the tornado began its damage in the municipality of River Oaks where damage had been done to
homes and Castleberry High School. The tornado continued its path crossing the Trinity River where it then
took a turn at the intersection of West 6th street and University Dr. It then took on a eastern direction
damaging more homes. The tornado continued its path toward downtown leaving destruction to the Cash
America building, the Bank One tower, Calvary Cathedral and many other buildings. The tornado finally
dissipated when it hit I 35, but its parent cell continued to cause damage to homes, trees, and fences
(Wikipedia.org). Another thunderstorm system began to arise in Johnson county and made its way northeast
ward to meet up with the parent cell from the Fort Worth tornado, this produced a second tornado that hit

Relationships Are Part Of The Society’S Life. As People
Relationships are part of the society s life. As people tend to grow up, we get to know the feeling of attraction
and being in love towards the opposite sex. However, some people choose to commit to not only one person,
but to multiple relationships. This is called an open relationship. Open relationship is an interpersonal
relationship where both parties agreed to be together but can develop relationships to other partners as well.
Although this multiple commitment seems to be an easy going and straightforward kind of relationship,
conflicts may still arise through this kind of relationship. People are being more open to this kind of
relationship, so often that other people think that this certain type of relationship is okay and is a ... Show

She finds the relationship unhealthy. Thus, she s now into an open relationship because she does not want her
past experience happen again. This is self justification. We alter our recollections from the past, where we felt
unhappy, ashamed angry or emabarrassed, in order to feel good with our past decisions and actions.
To test our hypothesis, we will use the Experimental method, where we use scientific research. This is the
most helpful method when it comes to determining causal relatons. In addition, we will be using basic
research, as we are finding out why certain individuals behave the way they do and it is out of the researcher s
curiosity. The independent variable in this case is the satisfaction rate of open relationships, while the
dependent variable is monogamous relationship. Our external validity is generalizability across people,
because we conducted an experiment associating populations, and is a replication. With this method, we are
conducting the probability level of both relationships. According to Multiamory, they surveyed 502 U.S adults

The System Development Life Cycle And The Risk Management...
A Comparison of the System Development Life Cycle and the Risk Management Framework The System
Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and the Risk Management Framework (RMF) are both processes that are
critical to the overall function of an information system, however many project managers and system
developers working with the SDLC regularly neglect to incorporate the RMF steps into the development of
information systems. This lack of planning and foresight often has unexpected financial impacts, or worse,
adverse security effects to an organization later on. Is it possible these individuals overlook the RMF because
it is difficult to follow or does not align well with the SDLC? What is the purpose of, and the steps involved
with each of these ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
During SDLC phase one, the initiation phase, the need for a system is expressed and the purpose of the system
is documented (NIST, 2008). Some of the expected outcomes from this phase would be a project plan and
schedule; system performance specifications outlining the operational requirements, system design
documents, and a document that defines roles and responsibilities. The corresponding RMF step, security
categorization, establishes the foundation for security standardization among information systems and
provides a vital step towards integrating security into the information system (NIST, 2008). During this step,
the type(s) of information processed by the information system are identified and the information system is
categorized to determine the level of protection requirements to put in place. Some of the expected outputs of
this step include a security project plan and schedule, documented system boundary, the system
categorization, and the security roles and responsibilities. These two process steps are very similar except the
focus of RMF is on information security related functions. In some cases, SDLC produces the expected
outputs that RMF requires, and the security professionals only require a copy of the documentation for their
records. For example, the system design document often depicts the system boundary. The reason this step is
so critical is that it

Comparing The Tell-Tale Heart And The Surrealist Movement
Have you ever seen a murdering airplane, a melting clock or a lobster telephone? Although these are
nonsensical statements, each was featured in very famous pieces of art of the time, know as Surrealist
Movement. The Surrealist Movement was a creative effort to establish a new style. As a way to diverge from
previous writing and artistic norms, artists began to use the idea of the unconscious mind and their own
dreams as a way to better exemplify one s own imagination and mind. Artist and writer would show how their
mind worked through their work and freely. In The Persistence of Memory by Salvador Dali, melting clocks
are depicted on a desert landscape. In The Tell Tale Heart , by Edgar Allan Poe, the narrator recounts the time
he murders an old man because of his eye. Edgar Allan Poe and Salvador Dali were significant people during
their time and were monumental to show other writers and artist to not restrict their creativity. Furthermore,
The Persistence of Memory was created during the Surrealist Movement and became a very popular piece of
artwork. On the other hand, The Tell Tale Heart was written when Romantic writing was popular. Although
these two works do not directly relate, they share common aspects. Furthermore, in the works The Tell Tale

However, it can be a completely reasonable and appropriate emotion in certain circumstances emotional
intelligence allows us to recognise our anger and understand why this emotion has occurred.
Effective self assessment of feelings and emotions will help to improve your confidence and self esteem. Self
awareness is one of the key components of emotional intelligence (EI).
Daniel Goleman, the guru of emotional intelligence, identified self awareness as being made up of emotional
awareness, accurate self assessment, and self confidence. In other words, it is all about knowing your
emotions, your personal strengths and weaknesses, and having a strong sense of your own worth.
People who lack self awareness find living a truly happy and productive life difficult. This can be difficult to
overcome, as many societies and cultures encourage us to ignore our feelings and emotions Keep Calm and
Carry On .
Examples of this include people who stay in jobs that they find unfulfilling or make them unhappy, or in
relationships in which they are not comfortable.

Effects Of Political Corruption In Nigeria
Political corruption is a significant problem in Africa. Many of the regions in Africa were seeking for
independence from European nations that had caused for political views to differ. The ideas of leaders were
not all similar which may have created a majority of these countries in Africa to express their feelings and
form their own political parties. Besides wanting to be freed from European rule, the rise of political
corruption could also be faulted to the African leaders of different regions of Africa to voice their own beliefs
with the determination that it lacked unifying the nation s overall.

The transformation of politics in Nigeria fell into the trap of military rule that caused for chaos to occur across
the country. Colonial chiefs were taking positions in office which they were not qualified for and used force
and bribery to win over the people of Nigeria. The idea that Nigeria was being set up in this form of
government was misleading and did not let the people feel as though they were independent. Regional leaders
were seeking to take over local politics of this country and were able to do so when it came to the national and
local elections. When Nigeria, revamped their constitution in the 1950s, which divided Nigeria into three
different regions caused a fight to see who would control the political party. Nigeria located in West Africa is
made up of three separate cultures in the area that lead to disunity and issues with the government. The Hausa
Fulani in the north, the Yoruba in the west, and Ibo in the east. Amongst these cultures, they started to form
their political parties. There was the National Council of Nigeria and the Cameroons, the Action Group and
Northern People s Congress. The British should be held responsible for encouraging these groups to compete
against one another. The British were responsible for favoring other political parties over others that would
help create cockiness to development in the long run. The British mostly supported the N.C.N.C and allowed

Rhinosinusitis Essay
The most common organisms associated with adult bacteria rhinosinusitis are Streptococcus pneumoniae and
Haemophilus influenza (Arcangelo, 2013). These organisms are the normal flora seen in healthy individuals,
when over populated, they invade the sinuses, causing acute rhinosinusitis. Morazella catarrhalis is mostly
seen in children. Other less frequently seen organisms are A Streptococcus, Chlamydia pneumoniae and
Streptococcus pyogenes (Arcangelo, 2013).
Causes of rhinosinusitis may include: allergy, or hay fever, humidity, cold air, alcohol, and perfumes

fever and aches, decongestants for stuffy nose or topical corticosteroids (may alter the immune system s
response to infection), antihistamines are only recommended if the patient has allergies (Arcangelo, 2013).
Antibiotics treatment should be prescribed to patients who do not improve or have worsening symptoms after
7 days of observation (Arcangelo, 2013). Antibiotics should be considered if more than of the following
symptoms are present: fever 102℉, pain, tenderness of the ears, sinuses, face, purulent color sputum, sore
throat, dyspnea, and pleuritic chest pain without any improvement for over 10 days (Arcangelo, 2013).
Nonpharmacological therapy includes rest, proper hydration, hot shower, room humidifier, and saline nasal
flushes are shown to be helpful in relieving the symptoms of rhinosinusitis (Arcangelo, 2013).
The goal of medication therapy is to decrease the duration of symptoms, prevent compilations such as
meningitis or brain abscess and acute rhinosinusitis becoming chronic rhinosinusitis (Arcangelo, 2013).
The duration of the antibiotics should either be at least 14 days or 7 days after the symptoms has resolved

In African cultures, they believe in creating a positive environment for the gods by singing and dancing, with the hope that the attention will cause the gods, to grant their request. Several studies have demonstrated that furan is a potent hepatotoxin and hepatocarcinogen in rodents. However, few studies have investigated the toxic effects offuraninthetestis. • 4. Review Of The Elder Scrolls Another Bethesda game and yes, it is great! Okay, I will elaborate my opinion; Bethesda makes lots of great role playing (RPG) games with open world environments. Although, I never could understand why Bethesda likes to kick off their amazing voice actors off the face of the Earth. I m pretty sure if Bethesda was able to cast Mel Blanc and James Earl Jones as voice actors they would probably be either Gordon Freeman or Link. In The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, they kill off Patrick Stewart in addition to that we get ten minutes of Liam Neeson in Fallout 3. This game has a gripping and expansive showcase of how much depth and great excitement can be packed into one videogame. It does justice to the rest of the Fallout franchise, including ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Like Red Dead Redemption, I would recommend the Game of the Year Edition since you get the most of the game. Along with that similarity, Fallout also has a slow motion mechanic called the Vault Tec Assisted Targeting or V.A.T.S. system, where you are able to pick what part of the target s body like head, body, limbs or weapons to shoot off. The gameplay is solid and the story is decent, it is best to ignore most of the story because of it being a pretty bland story telling, but I would recommend reading the story and the newspaper through the land to give the game character. NITPICK CENTER: Straight off the bat of Fallout 3, you are giving the trauma of the game s opening, in which you are dumped bleary eyed and bloodstained straight out of the womb. Then the game expects you, a newborn baby, to come up with a gender, name, and future appearance. I personally find it rude to put that much pressure on a baby. Then the story goes Christopher Nolan by skipping parts of your life. Afterwards, your father, Liam Neeson, ditches you and leaves the vault you have been living in your entire life. Being motherless since your mom died giving birth and Liam Neeson ended up like Picard, you are also fatherless. Then when the protagonist is ready to step out in the real world, the immersion breaks when the game says, Hey, are you satisfied with your first ten minutes of the game because if you aren t just step into this DeLorean and travel back to the past? New Protocol: How Drug s Rebirth as Treatment for Cancer Fueled Price Rises Immanuel Kant Kantian Deontology John Locke The Justification of Private Property Adam Smith Benefits of the Profit Motive Milton Friedman The Social Responsibility of Business Is to Increase Its Profits Thesis: An examination of the case study New Protocol: How Drug s Rebirth as Treatment for Cancer Fueled Price Rises relies heavily on a keen understanding of the social and economic implications of a capitalist system, and once taken into account it is clear that Celgene Corp. is justified in raising prices based on the business market philosophies asserted by ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Though many critics of Celgene would call the corporation s decision to raise prices a genuinely greedy and selfish act, Smith sees nothing wrong with such a move. On this issue Smith states that an individuals self centered motives often improve society: By pursuing his own interests he frequently promotes that of the society more effectually than when he really intends to promote it (Donaldson, 167). Given Celgene s perceived self centered actions, Smith would note that this type of free market behavior is positive and is guided by an invisible hand which helps such behavior to be beneficial to society as a whole. The next philosopher to be examined would argue that the invisible hand that Smith speaks of is indeed separate from the political realm. Milton Friedman continues with Smith s line of logic as he asserts that the chief concern of the businessman must be to make a profit under socially acceptable means and that the defining of social responsibilities must be left in the political sphere. Celgene s chief executive, John Jackson, was the primary force behind the company s decision to raise prices. Jackson s actions are perfectly ethical according to Friedman who writes, What does it mean to say that the corporate executive has a social responsibility in his capacity as a businessman? If this statement is not pure rhetoric, it must mean that he is to act in some way that is not in the interest of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Traumatic Brain Disorder (TBI) 1.5 million people in the United State of America have a traumatic brain disorder (TBI). These disorders have symptoms of memory dysfunction, depression and anxiety; Dr. Byrnes and her team at the Uniformed Services University have examined mouse models to find the cellular mechanisms for these symptoms. When the brain experiences a traumatic injury, several cellular level events happen quickly. First, there is an increase in supporting cell membrane permeability which leads to a rise in non specific ion influx, followed by a rapid increase in glucose uptake. This increased glucose uptake results in increased in energy generation in an effort to correct the membrane permeability dysfunction. The major route neurons use to increase their glucose ... However, Stevenson argues that one has no choice but to follow their evil desires, where as Wilde argues that society and influence cause people to follow their desires. Corruption of man exists in both novels, in The Picture of Dorian Gray society makes one corrupt, but in Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde society controls evil desires that may otherwise take over one s personality. The duality of humans has been explored by many, and both novels agree that one has both evil and good desires. Furthermore, the novels also support the importance of appearance as a critical part of maintaining ones good side. Human nature can be both good and evil as Jekyll would say man is not one but two . Jekyll and Hyde show this duality by each taking one side of Dr.Jekyll s personality. In The Picture of Dorian Gray the portrait absorbs all the evil of Dorians actions leaving him endlessly youthful. Though many events do take place in other regions of the city, we only obtain knowledge of them through hearsay. Euripedes used this tool in theaters for the audience to visualize the actions instead of cheapening the experience with the few special affects available to them. All dictators like Muammar Gaddafi have had billions of dollars stashed in tax havens all around the world. Tax havens are also used as the principal route through which laundered money escapes developing countries. (Palan) The reason tax havens exist, is for the same reason why they existed 50 years ago; to attract money and investments from around the world. It s easy to recognize that the main objective of corporations is to make more profit regardless of how it s done. This greed brought on by the top companies in the world has cost America $100 billion a year. If these companies would like to take advantage of the biggest market in the world, then they should respect the laws put in place for that country. With that being said, we the people, who buy these products, must make a stand and demand that these companies operate fairly. We know how much money is being lost, where it s being stashed, and what countries are helping this happen. As the most powerful country in the world we must take a lead and implement new international policies that will make corporate tax evasion something of the past. Even with all these reasons on why corporate tax evasions are bad, there are still some arguments saying that the current tax system is fine as it is. These arguments usually derive from the fear of change. People are scared of the actions that these companies will take in order to counter act the new law set by the government. The main argument comes for allowing tax evasion is that corporate tax evasion makes products cheaper for consumers. While this is a possibility, it also doesn t make sense. The whole reason corporations evade taxes in the first place, is to make as much profit as possible. So why would these corporations ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 11. A Historical Day For The American Nation November 5th 2008 was a historical day for the American nation. On this day President Barack Obama gave his victory speech. In the speech Obama addressed multiple things that he wants to accomplish. He uses many ways to connect with the audience and gives them hope to change America. He remains humble and shows character by giving all the credit to the people. He uses a lot of ethos, pathos and logos to persuade the audience that he will do good and honest work in the office. Ethos is the author s credibility, character, honesty and accomplishment. The author attempts to appear honest and knowledgeable. An example of ethos can be found when he refers to himself at the unlikeliest candidate, I was never the unlikeliest candidate for this office. Being the unlikeliest candidate and winning the elections shows that Obama is hardworking and will not give up. On top of that he does not brag about winning but give all the credit to the people. These are good qualities that people want the president to have and this shows that he going to work hard in the office. Another example can be found when he is talking about how his campaign started and the support he was getting at the start of the campaign. He says, It began in the backyards of Des Moines and the living rooms of Concord and the front porches of Charleston. This shows how his journey to the white house began and how hard he had to work to get there. Unlike many other candidates who got large funds from private ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 12. John Cages Research Paper The music of John Cage is highly criticized, yet highly revered within the same societal realm. The question that has yet to be answered, even after fifty plus years, is John Cages music really music or is it just noise? The dictionary definition of music is the following: vocal or instrumental sounds (or both) combined in such a way as to produce beauty of form, harmony, and expression of emotion. My personal version of the definition of music is a variant of the definition listed above. I believe that music is the combination of vocal, instrumental sounds, or silence (or all the above) produced in a way to express a feeling or emotion. Based on my own personal definition of music, I do consider John Cages pieces to be music. A question ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... it is my opinion that this John Cage piece is considered music. John Cage talks about how all you need for noise to be music is for there to be sound created in some form and fashion and for the sound to create rhythmic patterns. I agree with him in that sense. Music is simply different sounds combined in different rhythms. However, simply because my definition of music similarly matches with John Cage s definition doesn t mean that the listener must modify their definition, because in any definition of music that a person creates they cannot argue the fact that music is varying sounds combined with rhythm. But John Cage music isn t simply about the music itself, but he argues that it s also about the performance. • 13. Boredom Is A State Of Mind Boredom is a state of mind that hinders everyone at some point in life. I find that I encounter boredom most during the summer when I am free from the constraints of school and social life. This state of mind could lead someone to do some pretty outrageous things, whether that be very small or life changing. Life could completely change because of one stupid mistake made when bored. When looking back before the mistake, it seems a lot better than it does now. I have experienced an instance similar to the one described. It was during the summer of 2016, and I was going through a state of boredom. I had the mindset that anything is better than the feeling of boredom, even pain. There was a week, during the summer in particular, when my thoughts and mindset really affected me. I felt like I was wasting my life by not doing things with my time. I know this is a drastic response to a couple weeks of boredom; however, I tried to spend time with my best friend, but she was busy working and our plans always seemed to fall through. All I wanted was to be alone to sulk about my boring and uneventful life. I found the perfect spot to do just that; it was the roof of my house. There was a different atmosphere when I sat on the roof; I felt truly alone with my thoughts. I visited this spot multiple times during the week when life seemed too heavy to hold. Thursday was the day of the accident. I was frustrated with my life. I spent the majority of my time in school, and when I finally ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 14. Mothers And Daughters In Eudora Welty s The Joy Luck Club Perhaps the most intriguing and interesting biographical theme that is repeated throughout the novels is the traditional mother daughter dynamics and expectations. The importance of family and filial respect for parents is a crucial part of East Asian culture. The family has and still is often called the basic social unit in China (Welty 198). In Asian culture children are required to be obedient and respectful in all cases to their parents (Welty 253). Mother and daughter relationships are an especially intriguing dynamic because in the traditional cultures, women were often second class and did not retain much respect. This idea is explored in The Joy Luck Club as Ying ying St. Clair says I know this because I was raised the Chinese way: ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Daughters saw their mothers to be lost in the past. When Thanh is unable to adjust to the American way of life Mai thinks, But somehow at that moment, my mother imperfect and unable to adjust, died in my mind (Cao 70). This separation often contributed to the feelings of being lost and unable to live in harmony. Ying ying St. Clair in The Joy Luck Club reiterates this idea of separation and misunderstanding as she describes her relationship with her mother as lost, unseen, and unheard (Tan 64). The power in the relationships between mother and daughters, however, is strong and immigrants can overcome their differences and find restoration and healing. Thanh describes her powerful connection with her daughter when she writes, It will always be there, of course. Even Mai has worked her way into accepting that fact, the fact of our connection, strong and steady like the heart s vascular valves (Cao 169). The conclusion of The Joy Luck Club follows this theme of the unbreakable bond between mothers and daughters, even when facing the challenges of Asian assimilation. Jing mei Woo, the daughter who is plagued the most with her unfulfilled duties as a daughter, travels to China to meet her older Chinese sisters. She describes, Together we look like our mother. Introduction Since the discovery of the nutritional benefits associated with the consumption of cow s milk, it has become highly consumed within the western diet and worldwide (Kanekanian 2014). However, health concerns arose in the late nineteenth and early twentieth Centuries due to an increase in infant mortality and milk borne illnesses relating to the consumption of raw cow s milk (Knechtges 2012). This became an increasing public health concern and highlighted the growing need to introduce and enforce laws and legalisations relating to the processing and sale of cow s milk. In 1864 Louis Pasteur discovered pasteurisation was an effective processing method for destroying pathogenic microorganisms responsible for foodborne illness present in beverages; prolonging its life and quality (Brown 2015). Current laws and legislations now state milk must undergo this process before being sold for retail sale and intended for human consumption. Yet, there is still a growing demand for the sale of raw cow s milk due to beliefs in greater nutritional benefits if consumed. This creates a growing public health concern to ensure safe laws and legislations are in place and practice. • 21. Nurture Plays a More Dominant Role in Human s Development... Humans are unique and intricate creatures and their development is a complex process. It is this process that leads people to question, is a child s development influenced by genetics or their environment? This long debate has been at the forefront of psychology for countless decades now and is better known as Nature versus Nurture . The continuous controversy on whether or not children develop their psychological attributes based on genetics (nature) or the way in which they have been raised (nurture) has pondered the minds of psychologists for years. Through thorough experiments, studies, and discussions however, it is easy to see that nurture is far more important in the development of a human than nature. The Nature versus Nurture argument can be traced back many millenniums ago. In 350 B.C., philosophers asked the same question on human behaviour. Plato and Aristotle were two philosophers that each had two diverse views on the matter. Plato believed that knowledge and behaviour were due to inherent factors, but environmental factors still played a role in the equation. Conversely, Aristotle had different views. He believed in the idea of Tabula Rasa . The Blank Slate theory supported the nurture side of the argument and believed that everyone was born with a Tabula Rasa , Latin for Blank Slate . He proposed that people learn and acquire ideas from external forces or the environment . In other words, he believed that the mind is a blank slate and it is our ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
