Bricks During The Neolithic Era
In the Neolithic Period, 8000 BC, tools and metal weaponry like smelting and casting were being
brought about. This immensely improved how impactful weaponry was. After metalworking got
introduced, the people could protect themselves in a more efficient way. Bricks were another form of
technological advancement during the Neolithic Period. In their simplest form (still familiar today in
many hot regions), bricks are shaped by pressing mud or clay into a mould. The damp blocks are then
left to bake hard in the sun. Bricks of this kind are known in Jericho from about 8000 BC. Spinning
along with and knitting also was invented during this time and it was one of the first cultural aspects
brought about. It was one of the first jobs classified

Persuasive Letter To Macbeth
Dear Thane of Cawdor, I forsake you and your cruel intentions as a traitor to the crown. Your actions
correlate with treason and must be held accountable in a court of law. Moreover, You must reveal your
wrongdoing and take responsibility for your bloodthirsty ambition. As vile as your heart s aspiration
is, betraying your own people is an unacceptable method to achieve success. How could you slaughter
the very man who dines in your castle and promotes you? Wisdom often tends to distinguish men with
hopeful determination from fools with fallacious ambition. Shall I declare you a fool? Nevertheless,
Macbeth, admit your exploits to the people and accept your punishment. Destiny is never guaranteed,
and fate cannot justify senseless actions.

The Effects Of Dark Matter On The Universe
The universe is the entirety of space, time, matter and energy. Today scientists theorize that the
universe is dominated by invisible matter rather than visible matter. What is this mysterious invisible
matter that makes up the majority of our universe? Scientists call it dark matter. But other than the fact
that exists, scientist know very little about it, and are more certain about what it is not than what it is
(Dark Energy, Dark Matter, n.d.).
Dark matter is matter than does not emit any light or any other types of detectable radiation (Dark
Matter, n.d.). Dark matter is undetectable by any type of electromagnetic radiation. It cannot be seen
as visible light, or be detected at the low or high end of the spectrum (DarkMatter, n.d.). Scientists
believe that it was created over 14 billion years ago, after the big bang. Studies of how galaxies form
suggest that dark matter is made up of particles with masses that could range from that of a proton to a
hundred times more (Dark Matter, n.d.).
Dark matter was first introduced in 1933 when Fritz Zwicky, a Bulgarian Swiss American scientist,
concluded its existence. Zwicky used Newton s laws and the speeds of individual galaxies to
determine the mass of galaxy clusters. He also used the brightness of individual galaxies to determine
the amount of visible matter in the galaxy clusters. The calculations showed that there was much more
invisible matter than visible matter. But after Zwicky s discovery, dark matter did not receive

A Vet Is A Heroes Or Heroines
A hero or a heroine is a special person who works for greater good by showing great courage. My hero

many ways. A veterinary doctor, usually called a vet is a professional who practices veterinary
medicine by treating diseases, disorders, and injuries in animals. Vets provide life saving services to
animals after a natural disaster or after bad people abuse them. They are always there when our furry,
winged or scaly friends are sick, injured or need help fast from an expert. They are never too tired to

Sigmund Freud s Pychodynamic Approach To Leadership
The psychodynamic approach to leadership has its roots in Sigmund Freud´s. The psychodynamic
paradigm has its origins in Freud s psychoanalytic theories of human behaviour. Specifically, this
approach draws attention to the sources of energy and motivational forces that drive human actions by
considering what is within : the inner world of individuals, including their emotions , relationships
between individuals, and in the reality that is created by the dynamics of groups (In text citation of

When a person is in parent ego state a person thinks, feels and behaves in the way they copied from
their parents during child hood. In this ego state they will be either controlling or nurturing during the
child ego state they think feel and behave as one did as a child. During this stage they try to behave as
a free child or a adapted child. In the adapted child stage they behave as in the adult ego state they
behave that are the direct result of the present situations. Individuals normally move in and out of
these ego states a person conforms adapts to demands of others and in Free child stage a person acts
and feels like an uninhibited child. Transactional analysis happens when two persons interacting are
assessed. There are two types of transactional analysis complimentary interaction, and crossed
transaction. In the complimentary interaction happens when one person in the nurturing ego state
interacts with person in adaptive child ego state. In the crossed ego state arises when a leader in the
adult ego state deals with a subordinate having a free child ego state . An effective leadership arises
when two people operate in the adult ego state works together. In a crossed transactions the following

Characteristics Of The Humble Narcissistic
The humble narcissist
Steve Jobs makes for a riveting leadership case study because he was a remarkable innovator,
exceptional marketer, and a visionary while at the same time being vicious, narcissistic and tyrannical.
He is the textbook case for someone with a Narcissistic Personality Disorder but what sets him apart
from the rest of the narcissists was that he was successful in harnessing the strengths of narcissism
while tempering its weakness.
From its inception in 1976, Apple was run by Jobs with an iron first. He was infamous for being
consumed with his sense of importance and brilliance to the point where he unfalteringly damaged
others by exploiting and bullying them. He was rightly accused of being egoistic, controlling,
manipulative, condescending and impassive. He was often guilty of humiliating subordinates publicly,
planning coups against colleagues and overriding other s opinions and suggestions. His weaknesses
lead to his ouster form Apple in 1985. At just 30 years old, he was jobless, branded a public failure
and on the verge of depression.
Jobs realized that inculcating self involvement with humility will help him succeed, and that
realization only came to him when he was humiliated. When narcissism works in tandem with
expressions of humility, it fosters the best outcomes. Effective leaders are individuals who learn to
balance disparate leadership qualities with humility to prevent their narcissism from damaging their
leadership effectiveness (Owens,

When Cultures Collide Essay
Mergers and acquisitions has become an important part of the American commerce, which
communication plays an important role in reducing the negative impacts. While Schweiger agrees that
failure to communicate with employees during a merger will increase employee uncertainty and
anxiety, he highlights that previous researchers (Napier et al., 1989) did not measure uncertainty nor
any of the supposed dysfunctional outcomes said to follow uncertainty.
Communication is also suggested by others to be avoided, as it might alert competitors or cause
employees to leave an organization rather than endure painful changes (Buono Bowditch, 1989). It can
also threaten management s ability to respond flexibly to changes during a merger or acquisition ...

The preview of the experiment was deemed effective that the vice president of the human resource
immediately introduced it to the control plant at the end of the experiment. As opposed to Buono
Bowditch s worry that employees will be unable to cope with the change and thus resign, only two
employees resigned from both plants, out of the 126 employees employed in the experimental plant
and 146 employees in the control plant.
Schweiger concluded that communications can help employees cope with the effects of mergers and
acquisitions to reduce the negative impacts to the organizational effectives, as should it be left
unchecked, it could become costly to an organization and undermine the initial aspects and objectives
of the merger or takeover.

Isaac Sherrill Biography
One day a miracle happened, I, Isaac Sherrill, was born! I was born on March 9, 2003. A long time
ago, I know. I thought I would write an autobiography so I could tell people about myself, but also to
entertain a little.
I was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana and I was the first child of my family. When I was one we moved to
Arizona for a year. Then when we moved back to Indiana my sister was born, and now I have three
brothers and three sisters. My life has taken taken some twists and turns and now I live in Grand

I got a lot of recognition working there because people knew who I was from playing basketball. I
made about $15,000 working out there which fortunately was enough to get by. My college experience

I was seen as a smart, young, athletic coming out of college and with some convincing I got a position
managing agents of athletes, performers, and artists. I made $120,000 with that job which was great
especially because this was my first big job. Through the years I have been working my way up the
ranks. I hope that one day I will be able to do something big like being the CEO of Nike or something
like that as I said earlier.
I live in Grand Rapids, MI because I have always loved the city, but most of all, all the opportunities it
offers for me and my family. I bought a very nice house straight off after college which I reside in to
this day. I also drive a nice Range Rover Evoque which had been my dream car since I was a little
boy. But I most enjoy having season tickets to the MSU basketball season, the very college I
graduated from. Looking back on my life I thank God for everything he has blessed me with. In the
future I hope to be able to impact people s lives in a big way such as possibly opening a hospital or
something like that (obviously that s a ways down the road). But in the meantime I ll be out here in

Since air bags are a standardized component within the final product, the slightest defect can wind up
affecting millions of vehicles. As safety is Takata s motto they should have better quality systems in
place that would minimize the number of defective standardized products given the sheer volume
produced. Takata ought to have taken a more diligent approach to the defects and addressed the public
s safety concerns sooner than six years after a death occurred as a result of their product. Furthermore,
Takata cited driver safety as the reason for its controversial refusal to comply with federal regulators
who want a national recall of its airbags. I believe that Takata was not prepared for a full scale recall
so they decided to pursue a more hands off approach which was truly not in their best interest.
Because Takata prolonged the recall investigation, they were faced with several penalties, fines and
fees and as a result of their lack of effort to correct the problem, company shares have fallen and
Takata is reporting a net loss. There is also the potential for Takata to lose some of their customers;
however, it is important to note that Takata is only one of three companies producing air bags. Due to
the minimal choices automakers have for suppliers with regards to air bags, it reasons that Takata
might not be concerned with their position in the supply chain as the automakers would not favor a
duopoly. It truly

Critique of Michael Jordan and The New Global Capitalism written by Walter LaFeber
Michael Jordan is more than just an athlete. He is a celebrity, a brand, and the face of many thriving
companies. Everyone in the world, sports fan or not, knows Michael Jordan. If they don t know what
he does or who he is, they have heard of the name, or can relate him to something. Michael Jordan
was lucky enough to have been offered lucrative opportunities early in his career which led to the

how they used not only Jordan himself, but also the sport to Americanize other cultures. LaFeber

Why Is Marvel Better Than Dc Comics
Why I think Marvel Comics is better than DC Comics. I have many details to show you why I am 100
percent right on this. Now if you are a DC fan and reading this you can go read about whatever you
want this is my opinion not yours. I don t care for DC comics at all they only have a few good
characters and even they can be unbearable sometimes. Marvel on the other hand is the exact opposite
of this Marvel has almost only great characters and a few bad ones.My first reason Marvel is better is
because they have Spider Man. Spider Man in my opinion is in the top five of Marvel s best
characters. DC knows this too so they tried to copy him and make him a villain in there own comic
books. I realize that we quite plainly ripped off Deadpool from there own Deathstroke but ... Show

People like him so much that they rebooted him twice but that s probably because of Sony and Marvel
s rocky character contracts. My second reason is Marvel plainly just makes better movies than DC.
Now I realize that sometimes Marvel s CGI could be lot better like in Captain America Civil War but
it was nonetheless still a good movie. DC has only made like 5 live action CGI movies and 3 of those
completely sucked. Wonder Woman was good and Suicide Squad was alright but the rest are just
complete garbage. Now Marvel has over 15 movies and all of them are amazing Guardians Of The
Galaxy blew my mind And I didn t even know who they were at the time.My third reason is Marvel
actually knows what to do with their characters. Now don t get me wrong DC can do some good
things with their characters. Like how they did Batman and the Flash but that s about it. Now Marvel
on the other hand is working there characters like I work my Xbox One like magic. Marvel has taken
something people couldn t even imagine being in movie and weaved into candy for my eyes.I have a

Flag Desecration Persuasive Speech
Has the burning of the flag change the way we look at people or even more how we look at our own

which has cause more commotion on how it is not relating to the First Amendment. Both of the
common country and of the state will diminish in proportion as respect for the flag is weakened
(Goldstein Robert) We can also see why people disagree to this problem and what they are willing to
do to stop this referring to the people who have tried to stop this before. Not only that, we, the people

The Habitable Zone outside Earth Essay
The Habitable Zone
There are approximately seven billion people living on the Earth right now. Who can picture 1 million
people, let alone 7 billion people? Yet the total incomprehension of it does not make the fact any less
true. Nobody has ever seen an alien or an organism that has not originated from Earth, yet it does not
make the prospect any less valid. Most citizens of Earth cannot imagine living anywhere else but on
this blue planet, but that should not make the possibility of it any less real. Space, like the future, is
always ahead of us, and no one can predict what it has in store for us or what ideas will be found.

The luminosity of the star plays a role on the length of the HZ as well. The more light a stars radiates,
the larger that star s HZ will be (Palmer). More light brings along more heat. As well as luminosity,
another variable is time. As times ticks by, a star s luminosity increases, and as it increases the margins
of the zone will expand. This indicates that, with time, planets within a HZ could change (Lissauer).
Then there is the Greenhouse Effect, a planet with a plentiful hydrogen atmosphere might be able to
extend its HZ. The Greenhouse gas would be able to absorb heat and extend the HZ up to fifteen
astronomical units (AU). One AU is defined as the distance between the earth and the sun (Baalke).
Though the range extended would depend on the type of host star. For instance, G type stars, like the
Sun would have larger HZ. In contrast, M type stars emit less light and would have a smaller HZ
(Redd Greenhouse Effect ).
Similarly, Earth also has variables that affects life. One would be the mentioned greenhouse effect.
This effect talks about greenhouse gases, with some examples being H2O vapor, CO2, methane,
ozone, and nitrous oxide ( Greenhouse Effect ). These gases, located as molecules in the Earth s
atmosphere, absorb mirrored heat from the sun during the day. If these gases were not there, then the

Rhetorical Analysis Of The Mercedes Ad Of The Red Sl...
What is it about an advertisement that makes people want to purchase that item? Could it be the idea
of showing it off, personal attraction, or utilizing it in everyday life? The advertisement I chose to

gives off a romantic look due to the color of the car and the caption on the left; and a rough and
powerful look at the same time from the rigid mountainous background. The images looks extremely
realistic, like every detail of it was picked up by a high tech camera. The main focus of the image is
the front of the car closest to the foreground, with it going out towards the other parts making it one
elegant picture. Ethos, Pathos, and logos play a major role in this ad to appeal to the audiences senses
and attract the viewers the ad is aimed towards. This ad does marvelous in using rhetorical techniques
to appeal to the viewer and persuade them to purchase this car. My ad has a mountainous background
with a tint of blue in it, giving the impression of it taking place in the morning and the feeling of the
cool breeze right before the sun rises. The sun can be seen beginning to rise on the right side slightly
above the car; with the full capacity of the suns light being obscured by the mountain in front of it. A

The Iraq War was the culmination of a decades long trend of tension between the United States and

Steve Jobs
Steve Jobs, an American engineer and entrepreneur, co founder and executive director of Apple

Short Story Eleven By Sandra Cisneros
In this short story Eleven , Sandra Cisneros tells a story about a little girl named Rachel, who at a
young age, understands the irony of when it comes to life and aging. On her eleventh birthday, she
wished she had turned one hundred and two because she would ve had the courage and ability to stand
up for herself and the knowledge to say what she needed to say to her teacher. Instead, she went
through emotions from when she was younger causing her to seem vulnerable and weak because she
was suppose to act eleven. In the beginning of the story,
Rachel begins saying What they don t understand about birthdays and what they never tell you is that
when you re eleven, you re also ten, and nine, and eight, and seven, and six, and five, and four, and ...

I personally can relate to Rachel in this story. I understand what it feels like to be embarrassed by
acting a certain age you are currently not but was once before. Being humiliated in front of your peers,
especially by a teacher. Doing everything in your power not to act like a three year old because you
are eleven. Yes I can relate to that feeling. I have on many occasions casted out emotions of a younger
age, due to obstaclas in life that hit me.
Rachel who had turned eleven, wished she was older because she knows she would be getting the
respect she deserved and the courage to have stood up for herself. She responded to her teacher like a
four year old child, stuttering trying to defend the fact that the sweater wasn t hers, but nothing was
coming out to her defense. The teacher insisted that she remember Rachel wearing the sweater and
placed it on her desk. At that point is when the three year old Rachel wanted to come out and cry
because she had been humiliated in front of her peers. But she fought back tears because she was
eleven, not three. She didn t want to look vulnerable and weak in front of her peers. She thought about
how she was going home to a celebration because of

California Gold Rush Of 1849
California would not be the same as we see it today if it was not for the California Gold Rush of 1849.
Around one hundred fifty thousand migrated to this territory over the course of three years, being one
of the world s largest migrations in history. The wealth gained by the Forty Niner s in this era provided
the opportunity for the creation of the economic powerhouse we see California as today. The
California Gold Rush is a very complex topic to understand. There is a common misconception of it
simply being a time of profit or loss by miners digging for gold. When instead, the Gold Rush was a
time when Gold Fever was a common sickness of people around the world, people of all ages and
color striving to meet their dreams of success and fortune. This migration of miners is best understood
when California s history before the Gold Rush, the chaos over land ownership and lack of authority,
and its short term and long term impacts are extensively analyzed (4). Before the start of the Gold
Rush in 1849, California was a Mexican territory. It is Key to note (for later understanding of the
issues concerning land ownership and makeshift law within the gold mining districts) that the Gold
Rush was not a factor of concern for neither country within the Mexican War. The Mexican War was
sparked by the increasingly hostile territorial disputes between Mexico and the, at the time, Republic
of Texas. These territorial disputes of regions within California led to the United States

State Instability in Somalia: Islamic Extremism Insurgency
Historical Amnesia is a dangerous phenomenon, not only because it undermines moral

The rise of Militant Islam in Somalia occurred in the mid 1990 s with the alliance of a group of
Muslim legal scholars, clan leaders and business men operating in piracy, who comprised four primary
sects of leadership, based upon clan and regional affiliation. These four sects merged to form the
Supreme Islamic Courts Council (SICC), and operated with success until it was defeated in 2006 by
Transnational Federal Government. The SICC broke apart resulting in splinter terrorist organizations
which are now tied to the present rise in piracy off the coast of Somalia. Dissentions among these
groups are wide spread.
Now that an analysis have been provided with a background of research regarding the composition
and reason for militant groups, the research will focus on the case study to test whether these theories
modelled remain true within a radical group itself. To reiterate, the conflict analysis will focus on a
discussion of the dynamics and origins of the group power, group identity and group purpose, and
societal effects of the group. These findings will discuss the role of Islamic extremism, funding by
piracy, clan based fighting, and governmental factors which influenced the fall of the Somali state.
Let s begin by answering the first question of the composition and structural dynamic of the group.
The group we will focus on is Somalia s largest and most powerful insurgency group, called Al

It is clear that FedEx wants to stay ahead of competitors such as UPS, USPS, and DHL. In today s
market it is about having the best people, the best technology, and having the strongest customer
service attitude. With these three key elements s FedEx will continue to grow the business in the now,
but more importantly is strengthen the future business. FedEx has identified the importance of
employee relationship, which in the short and long run improves overall customer service. If the
employees are happy with FedEx than overall productivity will increase.
The Employee Loyalty Index (ELI) at FedEx Express complements i4cp s core focus of leveraging
human capital as a driver for increased market performance. The ELI is a tool that gauges multiple
indicators of employee loyalty and other critical factors that drive this commitment on an ongoing
basis. The information is then used to develop proactive processes and forward thinking initiatives.
The index is not designed to simply measure loyalty for loyalties sake, but to act on the premise that
loyal employees help to build customer loyalty, and, in turn, greater profits. (Retrieved 3 1 2010)

Toxic Leadership in Law Enforcement Essay
Abstract Toxic leadership, likely found in all agencies at some point, and the general awareness of
toxic leaders with whom individual officers have worked, makes this a real problem for law
enforcement agencies. Knowing the root and cause of this type of leadership helps develop
understanding on the part of those that can effect a change in leadership within an agency.
Comprehending the methods by which such environments develop and their negative impact on the
agency as a whole via individual officers experiences, opens the doors on hidden collusion that
destroy morale.

issues (Wilson Starks, 2003, p. 3). While the toxic leader may, at first glance, appear to be a
productive member of the agency, due to his/her own self promotion, the agency and subordinate
officers lose ground through the toxic leader s efforts to control.
Turf Building Turf building is the act of creating an area within the assigned work profile viewed as
belonging to the toxic leader. By controlling access to information and tools, by selected subordinates
and other supervisors, the toxic leader creates an area where only he/she can succeed. Such actions are
undertaken for the sole purpose of self aggrandizement on the part of the person in charge; with the
desired result that they are seen as the keeper of the knowledge or the solver of the problem.
Consequently, this often creates an impression with the leader s supervisors that he/she is the
irreplaceable element, or the go to guy and can be justifiably depended upon to handle this area, thus
creating an agency sponsored sense of expertise. Furthermore, this confirms to the toxic leader that the
path they have chosen, and the method they have employed is the best choice; thus, actions taken in
self interest are now perceived by the toxic leader as serving the interest of the agency.

Public Sector in India
Overview of Central Public Sector Enterprises
The government owned corporations play a pivotal role in the economic development of emerging
economies because their participation is higher in the industrial and commercial activities of these
economies. Resource constraints and limited scope of the private sector in the early stages of
development and planning have set the stage for predominance of the public enterprises in these
economies. Thus, public sectors in the leading developing countries of the world (including the
countries in the BRIC region) play a very important role.
Investments in public sector enterprises have also been greater and have continued to accelerate

The Role of Women throughout History
Based on the Holy Bible, life began with Adam and Eve then carried headlong, as Eve gave birth
followed by other women giving birth. Women are the most important amongst any in the world,
without women, life would simply not exist. However, people in some countries seem to not realize
that and do not appreciate their existence. India s ratio is approximately nine hundred and twenty nine
females for every one thousand males. Australia s ratio of male and female is 1.055, which means
there are nine hundred and forty eight females for every one thousand males (CIA World Factbook,
2011). India and Australia are countries with remarkable differences, not in just population number
and sanitation but also in the role of women and how they are treated.
Women in India, have to serve the father as a daughter, husband as a wife and eventually the children
as a mother. Women are not liberated to live their own life as per their desires; they are bound to
follow a strict path. India is now changing, after the independence women are given equal rights in all
matters but up till now there are certain states where they are not enjoying equal rights like men. There
are numerous factors responsible for that, customs and traditions, which are prevalent in the Indian
society for centuries; illiteracy among women is another reason for the backwardness of women in
Indian society. Indian society is generally considered to be a male dominant society so uncheck male

Persuasive Speech On Naps
Have you ever taken a nap because you are tired, only to wake up and be even more tired? There are
reasons behind this and I will be explaining these reasons to you today. Unless it is the wrong kind of

naps. Larger naps can make you more tired, but shorter naps can give you more energy and make you

Having Trouble with Your Strategy? Then Map It by Robert S. Kaplan and David P. Norton Harvard
Business Review Anheuser Busch InBev (AB InBev) is a good example of institution theory working
at its best as it uses a strong mission and vision statement for adaptation in growing markets. A solid
mission statement is a vital part of any company as it states the purpose or reason for the organization
s existence, which in turn, establishes the parameters for the company s strategic plan. Moreover, it
tells society what the company is providing: service or product. As the textbook points out, a well
conceived mission statement defines the fundamental, unique purpose that sets a company apart from
other firms of its type and identifies the scope or domain of the company s operations in terms of
products/services offered and markets served (Wheelen, et al 13). Mission statements throughout an
industry can vary greatly, and the alcoholic beverage industry is no exception. Anheuser Busch strives
to Be the best beer company in a better world; and to Deliver superior returns to our shareholders

it also identifies the scope of the company s operations, as they would like to deliver superior returns

The Victorian Period was marked by a major increase in the English empire and its culture. With more
conquests came more colonies, and soon the empire was at the peak of its reach ang physical size.
Back in Britain, writers and poets were beginning to expand on their own terms. The form of the

According to a writer specializing in Victorian Era literature, Browning returned to the motives of
Pauline by ironically exposing a male speaker s inadequate attempts to mentally possess a Female
Other, suggesting that the male narrators of both Porphyria s Lover and My Last Duchess both seek to
dominate their female lovers (Knoepflmacher). In the former text, the speakers gains the upper hand
over Porphyria by murdering her. When Porphyria sits down and puts her lover s arm about her waist,
she is showing her own independence. Furthermore, she places his head on her shoulder, making him
have to look up to her. This symbollic action is enough to make the narrator strangle her with her own
hair and then reverse their positions. He moves Porphyria so that she is physically, and figuratively,
underneath of him. The events of Porphyria s Lover thus show a male speaker s attempt to control his
female lover. In My Last Duchess, the same is suggested by the speech of the Duke. The Duchess was
quick to smile at anything, not just her husband. This infuriated him, as it made him feel as if she did
not appreciate her. In, I gave commands; then all smiles stopped together, the narrator says that he
made his wife stopped smiling, and as a result, she sadly died (My Last Duchess, lines 45 46). The
murder of the Duchess gave the Duke a supposed

For lunch the dining hall served hot wings with white rice along with your choice of sides at the salad

like much now, but at that time it was the only real sweets most of us had in weeks. Although I tried
not to show it, inside I was grinning from ear to ear. Then finally, there was dinner. Dinner meant that
the day was finished. There was no more training or exercising and I would be able to go to bed soon.
For dinner, pizza. That alone was the perfect satisfaction for me after an extremely long day and it was

Imaging Modalities Essay
Introduction In the medical world, there are several imaging modalities that are being used in order to
diagnose various pathologies. This research paper will talk about some of these different imaging
ways, as well as how an MRI functions in detail. Nuclear medicine. Edward Williams, BS, AAS,
CNMT of McLaren Greater Lansing spoke to the class and described general details regarding nuclear
medicine. Nuclear medicine is an imaging modality that includes both anatomy and physiology by
delivering various radioactive materials to the patient. The materials react within the patient and their
activity is monitored by the technologist. The patient is injected with radioactive isotopes such as Tc
99m, TI 201, I 123 and I 131. Adverse reactions to radiopharmaceuticals are not very common,
although common safety protocols must be adhered to. After the injection, the patient lays on the table
that has imaging cameras placed above and below the table. (Williams, 2017). Mammography. Katrina
Lynn Steinsultz, BS, RT(R)(M) of LCC spoke in the class regarding this modality. Mammography
includes the imaging of the breast tissue of women and even men. There are four different breast
tissues that exist within the breast: granular tissue, fatty tissue, connective tissues, and ducts. Different

Essay about The Ten Principles of Conservatism
Conservatives believe communities can provide structure for the natural change that they believe
should be the real way of progress and that communities are capable of providing a counter force
against the concentrated power within the government (Dunn, iii). Thus, community must be near the
top in a list of fundamental conservative tenets, and community is the third in this list of ten principles
of conservatism (Dunn, iii). Conservatives believe that within the community there are the private and
voluntary organizations people can join and be a part of which can help humans grow and flourish
(Dunn, iii). This view reveals why conservatives can view the community as such an important part in
the lives of individuals.
The fourth item in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Conservatives believe citizens should think more about what they could and should do for themselves
instead of thinking about what the government could do for them (Dunn, iii iv). The fear is that the
central government would end up controlling more and that there would be social and moral decay
(Dunn, iii iv).
The sixth tenet of conservatism is that democracy, in the minds of conservatives, occurs within the
context of a constitutional order carefully designed not only to limit and separate governmental power,
but also to refine democratic opinion and encourage deliberation (Dunn, iv). Conservatives see that
the Constitution outlines precise government activity, and so conservatives are in favor of a strict
interpretation of the Constitution of the United States. This means that conservatives want courts to
interpret the law as it is written instead of making the law. That would better keep the original
intentions of the framers of the Constitution intact by keeping the tradition and natural change instead
of injecting one s own views to cause change (Dunn, iv).
Property and its ownership, according to the seventh tenet, are important because they encourage
individuals to care more about society. They care more because they have a greater investment in it
(Dunn, iv). Conservatives suggest that because individuals are tied to their community in this solid
way, there is a greater chance that they will function responsibly and desire to preserve the social
order

Cost Allocation
Cost Allocation
ACC/561
April 23, 2012
Cost Allocation
The purpose of cost allocation is to identify and correctly allocate costs associated with a job, product,
or service. The main uses of cost allocation are to facilitate decision making regarding costs, justify
prices charged for products and services, cost control, and for optimal utilization of resources. There
are several methods used for cost allocation, depending on the type of product or service offer by the
company.
Variable cost allocation includes only variable manufacturing costs, such as direct materials, direct
labor, and variable manufacturing overhead. Absorption cost allocation includes manufacturing costs,
including both variable and fixed overhead as ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Step method of cost allocation, allocates costs between service departments in steps, starting with
the service department that provides the most service to the other service departments. After this
allocation takes place, the next step in the process allocates costs to the department that provides the
next most service. This keeps stepping down until all costs have been allocated between service
departments (Accounting For Management, 2012).
The Reciprocal method of allocating costs takes into account all activity between both
interdepartmental service departments and operational departments. For instance, the custodial
department services both the mail room and the manufacturing department. The cost of the portion of
custodial service provided to the mailroom would be allocated directly to the mailing department, and
cost of the portion of custodial service provided to the manufacturing department would be allocated
directly to the manufacturing department. Unlike the step method that only allocates forward from the
service departments providing the most service to those providing least, the reciprocal method can
work backward. At the same time costs of the custodial department are being allocated to the mail
room (because of the mail room being cleaned), the mail room will allocate costs to the custodial
department for the mail that needs to be picked up and delivered there. Thus, reciprocal activity is

Explain The Concepts Of Reflection, Refraction, Dispersion...
Introduction
In this experiment four different experiments were performed to explain the concepts of reflection,
refraction, dispersion and Brewster s angle. The purpose of the first experiment is to analyze the
incidence and reflection angle to understand how light reflects off a flat, convex, or concave mirror. In
the second experiment a light ray is passed through a rhombus prism to discover the relationship
between the angle of refraction and incidence. For the third experiment calculations were made to find
indices for the color of light that passed through an acrylic rhomboid. This experiment depicted
dispersion. Finally, the last experiment conducted dealt with the angle reflection and angle of
refraction. Using polarizing lens to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
After the mirror had been traced, it was taken off the paper and a line was sketched at the halfway
point. A ruler was used to draw the line outside of the traced mirror. The line was the normal line.
Also, inside the tracing on the line 1.8 cm was measured and labeled. Then a line was drawn from the
point opposite to the concave side and extended outside of the outline. Another line was sketched with
the ruler from the point of opposite to the convex side and extended a few centimeters past the outline.
See Figure A
During, the procedure the first step involved placing the mirror with all three sides to fit into the
outline. The light source was pointed at the side of the flat mirror. There was an incident and reflection
ray both were traced. When the mirror was removed, the lines were measured using a protractor to
retrieve the angle measurements. This process was repeated for the concave and convex sides. The
data is shown in table 1A, 2A, 3A.
Note: The data tables will be included in the Data Analysis section. Figure A
Theory B: Refraction
In the second experiment refraction was observed. Refraction is the bending of a light wave which
changes the speed once it hits another material. The ray of light hitting a fast medium will slow down.
Depending on the indexes of refraction the light will either slow down or travel faster. The
relationship between the indexes of refraction and the way the light bends when passing through a

Over The Counter Medications Of Maca Root
Maca root is coming into its own with regards to a possible alternative to over the counter
medications. In the United States, maca root is a supplement as opposed to an actual medicine, so you
should research anything with maca to examine its uses, benefits and possible side effects.
Here?s your complete guide to taking maca root pills, including maca supplement dosage, how much
maca to take and any possible side effects to this superfood.
What Is Maca Root?
What precisely is maca root? Maca root comes from the Peruvian Andes Mountain region. Native
people began cultivating maca root around 2,000 years ago. Natives used maca root as a vegetable and
as a tea like drink, but also as a medicine.
As a plant, maca root is red, purple, yellow, black and cream colored. The bulb like part that stores the
food reaches to 4 to 6 inches long and 1.5 inches wide. Maca root seems to only grow in high
altitudes, and Peruvians have become experts at growing, cultivating and using this plant as a staple
food.
Although ancient Peruvians have known about this plant for some time, maca root is just now gaining
prominence as a superfood. Maca root, at least in the United States, usually comes in a powdered or
capsule form. There are several uses for this versatile plant as a supplement.
Benefits of Maca Root
Although the U.S. Food and Drug Administration does not regulate or evaluate maca root
supplements, there is some evidence that maca root is an aphrodisiac or a fertility enhancer.

Analysis Of The Movie Fried Green Tomatoes
My first impressions of the movie Fried Green Tomatoes was that it was a fluff and light movie. The
previews of the movie would lead one to believe that myself included. I was wrong. The first part of
the movie was set in 1930 s. This part of the movie addressed the issue of racism and ageism before
the time of the Civil Rights Movement. When the movie moves in to present day, the story covers the
struggles Evelyn is experiencing with menopause, or as it was sometime called; the change of life.
Fried Green Tomatoes is a story that bounces through generations of women and the people around
them. This is a classic story of Americana. The stories are used to weave a web to make a point and
draw people in to the events that shape the lives ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Benefits of HT include relief of VMS (which can include hot flashes, night sweats, and rarely
formication, which is a sense of something crawling on the body (Thacker, 2014). Her marriage to an
unappreciative husband is the catalyst that brings about the change from a victim of low self esteem to
Towanda the Avenger . This is her avenging persona that rights the wrongs inflicted upon women
everywhere. When Ninny is first met by Evelyn, the first perception is that she is a senile old lady,
which is a typical view of ageism and the disregard society has of the elderly. This is typical of
ageism, systemic stereotyping of and discrimination against people because they are old (Touhey,
2016, p.66). Ninny s reminiscing cultivates a sense of security through recounting of comforting
memories (Touhey, 2016, p. 68). But as the time passes, Evelyn hears the stories of the strength of her
feminine predecessors gaining the strength to fight through the issues that plague her. Ninny gained a
friend and a sense of security while Evelyn gained self confidence. The value of relationships with
other females begins to increase as they usually live longer than the men in their life. She has lived a
very rich life, but she lacks the monetary means to take care of herself. She is dependent upon others
to survive, yet she is a mentally strong woman with a lot still to offer and experience. What is
interesting to me is that

As vile as your heart s aspiration is, betraying your own people is an unacceptable method to achieve success. How could you slaughter the very man who dines in your castle and promotes you? • 6. The Effects Of Dark Matter On The Universe The universe is the entirety of space, time, matter and energy. Today scientists theorize that the universe is dominated by invisible matter rather than visible matter. What is this mysterious invisible matter that makes up the majority of our universe? Scientists call it dark matter. But other than the fact that exists, scientist know very little about it, and are more certain about what it is not than what it is (Dark Energy, Dark Matter, n.d.). Dark matter is matter than does not emit any light or any other types of detectable radiation (Dark Matter, n.d.). Dark matter is undetectable by any type of electromagnetic radiation. It cannot be seen as visible light, or be detected at the low or high end of the spectrum (DarkMatter, n.d.). Scientists believe that it was created over 14 billion years ago, after the big bang. Studies of how galaxies form suggest that dark matter is made up of particles with masses that could range from that of a proton to a hundred times more (Dark Matter, n.d.). Dark matter was first introduced in 1933 when Fritz Zwicky, a Bulgarian Swiss American scientist, concluded its existence. Zwicky used Newton s laws and the speeds of individual galaxies to determine the mass of galaxy clusters. He also used the brightness of individual galaxies to determine the amount of visible matter in the galaxy clusters. The calculations showed that there was much more invisible matter than visible matter. But after Zwicky s discovery, dark matter did not receive ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 11. Characteristics Of The Humble Narcissistic The humble narcissist Steve Jobs makes for a riveting leadership case study because he was a remarkable innovator, exceptional marketer, and a visionary while at the same time being vicious, narcissistic and tyrannical. He is the textbook case for someone with a Narcissistic Personality Disorder but what sets him apart from the rest of the narcissists was that he was successful in harnessing the strengths of narcissism while tempering its weakness. From its inception in 1976, Apple was run by Jobs with an iron first. He was infamous for being consumed with his sense of importance and brilliance to the point where he unfalteringly damaged others by exploiting and bullying them. He was rightly accused of being egoistic, controlling, manipulative, condescending and impassive. He was often guilty of humiliating subordinates publicly, planning coups against colleagues and overriding other s opinions and suggestions. His weaknesses lead to his ouster form Apple in 1985. At just 30 years old, he was jobless, branded a public failure and on the verge of depression. Jobs realized that inculcating self involvement with humility will help him succeed, and that realization only came to him when he was humiliated. When narcissism works in tandem with expressions of humility, it fosters the best outcomes. Effective leaders are individuals who learn to balance disparate leadership qualities with humility to prevent their narcissism from damaging their leadership effectiveness (Owens, ... Takata ought to have taken a more diligent approach to the defects and addressed the public s safety concerns sooner than six years after a death occurred as a result of their product. Furthermore, Takata cited driver safety as the reason for its controversial refusal to comply with federal regulators who want a national recall of its airbags. I believe that Takata was not prepared for a full scale recall so they decided to pursue a more hands off approach which was truly not in their best interest. Because Takata prolonged the recall investigation, they were faced with several penalties, fines and fees and as a result of their lack of effort to correct the problem, company shares have fallen and Takata is reporting a net loss. There is also the potential for Takata to lose some of their customers; however, it is important to note that Takata is only one of three companies producing air bags. She responded to her teacher like a four year old child, stuttering trying to defend the fact that the sweater wasn t hers, but nothing was coming out to her defense. Around one hundred fifty thousand migrated to this territory over the course of three years, being one of the world s largest migrations in history. The wealth gained by the Forty Niner s in this era provided the opportunity for the creation of the economic powerhouse we see California as today. The California Gold Rush is a very complex topic to understand. There is a common misconception of it simply being a time of profit or loss by miners digging for gold. When instead, the Gold Rush was a time when Gold Fever was a common sickness of people around the world, people of all ages and color striving to meet their dreams of success and fortune. This migration of miners is best understood when California s history before the Gold Rush, the chaos over land ownership and lack of authority, and its short term and long term impacts are extensively analyzed (4). Before the start of the Gold Rush in 1849, California was a Mexican territory. It is Key to note (for later understanding of the issues concerning land ownership and makeshift law within the gold mining districts) that the Gold Rush was not a factor of concern for neither country within the Mexican War. The Mexican War was sparked by the increasingly hostile territorial disputes between Mexico and the, at the time, Republic of Texas. Such actions are undertaken for the sole purpose of self aggrandizement on the part of the person in charge; with the desired result that they are seen as the keeper of the knowledge or the solver of the problem. Consequently, this often creates an impression with the leader s supervisors that he/she is the irreplaceable element, or the go to guy and can be justifiably depended upon to handle this area, thus creating an agency sponsored sense of expertise. According to a writer specializing in Victorian Era literature, Browning returned to the motives of Pauline by ironically exposing a male speaker s inadequate attempts to mentally possess a Female Other, suggesting that the male narrators of both Porphyria s Lover and My Last Duchess both seek to dominate their female lovers (Knoepflmacher). In the former text, the speakers gains the upper hand over Porphyria by murdering her. When Porphyria sits down and puts her lover s arm about her waist, she is showing her own independence. Furthermore, she places his head on her shoulder, making him have to look up to her. This symbollic action is enough to make the narrator strangle her with her own hair and then reverse their positions. He moves Porphyria so that she is physically, and figuratively, underneath of him. The events of Porphyria s Lover thus show a male speaker s attempt to control his female lover. In My Last Duchess, the same is suggested by the speech of the Duke. The Duchess was quick to smile at anything, not just her husband. This infuriated him, as it made him feel as if she did not appreciate her. Conservatives believe citizens should think more about what they could and should do for themselves instead of thinking about what the government could do for them (Dunn, iii iv). The fear is that the central government would end up controlling more and that there would be social and moral decay (Dunn, iii iv). The sixth tenet of conservatism is that democracy, in the minds of conservatives, occurs within the context of a constitutional order carefully designed not only to limit and separate governmental power, but also to refine democratic opinion and encourage deliberation (Dunn, iv). Conservatives see that the Constitution outlines precise government activity, and so conservatives are in favor of a strict interpretation of the Constitution of the United States. This means that conservatives want courts to interpret the law as it is written instead of making the law. That would better keep the original intentions of the framers of the Constitution intact by keeping the tradition and natural change instead of injecting one s own views to cause change (Dunn, iv). Property and its ownership, according to the seventh tenet, are important because they encourage individuals to care more about society. They care more because they have a greater investment in it (Dunn, iv). • 47. Cost Allocation Cost Allocation ACC/561 April 23, 2012 Cost Allocation The purpose of cost allocation is to identify and correctly allocate costs associated with a job, product, or service. The main uses of cost allocation are to facilitate decision making regarding costs, justify prices charged for products and services, cost control, and for optimal utilization of resources. There are several methods used for cost allocation, depending on the type of product or service offer by the company. Variable cost allocation includes only variable manufacturing costs, such as direct materials, direct labor, and variable manufacturing overhead. Absorption cost allocation includes manufacturing costs, including both variable and fixed overhead as ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Step method of cost allocation, allocates costs between service departments in steps, starting with the service department that provides the most service to the other service departments. After this allocation takes place, the next step in the process allocates costs to the department that provides the next most service. This keeps stepping down until all costs have been allocated between service departments (Accounting For Management, 2012). The Reciprocal method of allocating costs takes into account all activity between both interdepartmental service departments and operational departments. For instance, the custodial department services both the mail room and the manufacturing department. The cost of the portion of custodial service provided to the mailroom would be allocated directly to the mailing department, and cost of the portion of custodial service provided to the manufacturing department would be allocated directly to the manufacturing department. Unlike the step method that only allocates forward from the service departments providing the most service to those providing least, the reciprocal method can work backward. At the same time costs of the custodial department are being allocated to the mail room (because of the mail room being cleaned), the mail room will allocate costs to the custodial department for the mail that needs to be picked up and delivered there. Thus, reciprocal activity is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 48. Explain The Concepts Of Reflection, Refraction, Dispersion... Introduction In this experiment four different experiments were performed to explain the concepts of reflection, refraction, dispersion and Brewster s angle. The purpose of the first experiment is to analyze the incidence and reflection angle to understand how light reflects off a flat, convex, or concave mirror. In the second experiment a light ray is passed through a rhombus prism to discover the relationship between the angle of refraction and incidence. For the third experiment calculations were made to find indices for the color of light that passed through an acrylic rhomboid. This experiment depicted dispersion. Finally, the last experiment conducted dealt with the angle reflection and angle of refraction. Using polarizing lens to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... After the mirror had been traced, it was taken off the paper and a line was sketched at the halfway point. A ruler was used to draw the line outside of the traced mirror. The line was the normal line. Also, inside the tracing on the line 1.8 cm was measured and labeled. Then a line was drawn from the point opposite to the concave side and extended outside of the outline. Another line was sketched with the ruler from the point of opposite to the convex side and extended a few centimeters past the outline. See Figure A During, the procedure the first step involved placing the mirror with all three sides to fit into the outline. The light source was pointed at the side of the flat mirror. There was an incident and reflection ray both were traced. When the mirror was removed, the lines were measured using a protractor to retrieve the angle measurements. This process was repeated for the concave and convex sides. The data is shown in table 1A, 2A, 3A. Note: The data tables will be included in the Data Analysis section. Figure A Theory B: Refraction In the second experiment refraction was observed. Refraction is the bending of a light wave which changes the speed once it hits another material. The ray of light hitting a fast medium will slow down. Depending on the indexes of refraction the light will either slow down or travel faster. The relationship between the indexes of refraction and the way the light bends when passing through a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 50. Analysis Of The Movie Fried Green Tomatoes My first impressions of the movie Fried Green Tomatoes was that it was a fluff and light movie. The previews of the movie would lead one to believe that myself included. I was wrong. The first part of the movie was set in 1930 s. This part of the movie addressed the issue of racism and ageism before the time of the Civil Rights Movement. When the movie moves in to present day, the story covers the struggles Evelyn is experiencing with menopause, or as it was sometime called; the change of life. Fried Green Tomatoes is a story that bounces through generations of women and the people around them. This is a classic story of Americana. The stories are used to weave a web to make a point and draw people in to the events that shape the lives ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Her marriage to an unappreciative husband is the catalyst that brings about the change from a victim of low self esteem to Towanda the Avenger . This is her avenging persona that rights the wrongs inflicted upon women everywhere. When Ninny is first met by Evelyn, the first perception is that she is a senile old lady, which is a typical view of ageism and the disregard society has of the elderly. This is typical of ageism, systemic stereotyping of and discrimination against people because they are old (Touhey, 2016, p.66). Ninny s reminiscing cultivates a sense of security through recounting of comforting memories (Touhey, 2016, p. 68). But as the time passes, Evelyn hears the stories of the strength of her feminine predecessors gaining the strength to fight through the issues that plague her. Ninny gained a friend and a sense of security while Evelyn gained self confidence. The value of relationships with other females begins to increase as they usually live longer than the men in their life.
