Regulatory Issues Of The Private Sector
Regulatory Issues
Some breaches goes way beyond the when and how bad the breach is and what agencies will get
involved. The fear is not only about their own customers, clients and shareholders but from agencies
like the SEC, FTC, FCC, CFPB and others alike. All have different agendas, regulations and standards
on how they approach a cyber breach situation. The major fear for the private sector is regulatory
laws. What if they are not following federal regulatory requirements? This is a risk that some
companies are not willing to take to share information about a threat they may have found. The
agencies feared the most is the FTC and the SEC.

This failure is what leads to their data security being breached twice more in less than two years.
(Federal Trade Commission)
The FTC is not the only agency that has issued some kind of guidelines for organizations to follow
when it involves data security. The latest data breaches involving retail giants like Target and Neman
Marcus, the Payment Card Industry Council issued security guidelines that are stricter and are meant
for any retailers, banks or credit card companies that process credit card transactions. Noncompliance
of the security guidelines could result in fines. Many agencies have increased their oversight for
security measures that companies are expected to follow and maintain. In 2011 the Security and
Exchange Commission (SEC) released guidance for public traded companies regarding their
obligation to release and disclose incidents of cyberattacks. (Clarke Olcott)
Securing cyberspace is one of the most important and urgent challenges of our time. In light of the
growing threat and the national security and economic ramifications of successful attacks against
American businesses, it is essential that corporate leaders know their responsibility for managing and
disclosing information security risk. (Rockefeller, Menendez, Whitehouse, Warner, Blumenthal)

Skull Island Act 1 Scene 2 Essay
Scene 1: The tone of the overture for the film is very dark. This harsh music could foreshadow fights
or arguments during the movie. However, the music also has parts where it speeds up and slows down.
The slow parts could resemble the calm before the storm, which occurs when the music speeds up.
Scene 2: The mood of the music is very mysterious. The characters do not know what they are getting
themselves into by sailing to Skull Island. They are somewhat nervous about what they are going to
encounter, but seem to be kind of optimistic. The music gives the island an intriguing atmosphere.
Scene 3: As the crew approaches the island natives, the music crescendos and the drums are very
prominent. They speed up as the crew gets closer and closer signifying the anticipation of meeting the
natives. The strings, percussion, and brass instruments can easily be heard throughout the scene. These

As the man confesses his love to the woman, the music is light hearted and fairy like. Then, as the
woman is standing by the side of the ship alone, a boat comes into view. The music matches the
approaching visitors and their mysteriousness. It becomes slow, low, and dark. However, as the people
on the boat take the girl the music speeds up and crescendos and then finally tapers off as they leave in
the boat.
Scene 5: The music during this part is harsh, which represents the danger that is approaching. During
certain sections, the music is drown out by the roaring of Kong and the screaming of the woman.
However, it is still noticeable how the music speeds up as Kong gets closer to the woman. The strings
play an important role during this part since they can play quick notes easier than other instruments
that may be in the orchestra. The music returns to its normal speed and the trumpets are prominent
once again as he takes the

Key Resources That Affect Creativity Are Time And Money
Resources The two main resources that affect creativity are time and money. When it comes to a
project, we must determine the funding, people and other resources that a team legitimately needs to
complete the task.
Work group Features Group must work for common objectives of their group. There must be mutual
understanding between group members. There must be predefined rules and regulations for every
group member. There should be effective communication among every group member.(Wride, 2012)
Supervisory Encouragement Most managers and supervisors can encourage creativity by offering due
recognition and credit to their team members. Managers can also support creativity by serving as a
role model, persevering through tough ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Quotes From Stormbreaker
Although death is one option, we choose to choose other options to get our way out of it, even when
going through death threatening events. In the book, Stormbreaker by Anthony Horowitz, Alex s
Uncle dies to a Russian spy called, Yassen. Alex s uncle, Ian Rider lied about him working for a Bank,
but instead worked for an Agent corporation. Alex soon becomes a spy, working for the corporation
and goes into a life threatening mission, to stop Stormbreaker.
The novel is a life lesson for the children of our generation, especially in since everyone lies to get
their way through and hide the mocking truth. It makes us realise that we can t trust anyone, since
things such as lying or fake friends are becoming more and more popular. The author made me reflect

lying is when Alex s guardian, Jack Starbright lied about how she could live with Alex for the rest of
her life, but Mr Blunt told Alex that Jack s visa expired ten years ago. The author uncovers that killing
is also what some people only think about. Yassen kills Alex s Uncle, then later on, Yassen sat1ves

Emergency Department Ratios
Soleimanpour et. al (2011) explained that patient satisfaction is an essential component in the
Emergency Department (ED) because it is the entrance for patients to receive their initial treatments.
The most important and single possible cause for ED patients flow problem is the availability of
inpatients beds (Peck et. al, 2012). The American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) (2011)
explained that the primary cause of ED overcrowding is boarding; which was defined as holding
patients in the ED after the admission had been completed due to unavailability of inpatient beds.
Lutheran Medical Center faced this problem and in his paper will discuss analysis of the problem,
determination of possible quality lapses, identification of performance measures, designing and
evaluation of the interventions and reporting of the results. The quality improvement tool which would
be used to analyze the problem is the Root Cause Analysis (RCA), which is a post hoc process to
evaluate a problem after its occurrence (Lighter, 2011). RCA ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Executive Branch Essay
The comparison of a state with great plains and a state with mighty mountains seems unimaginable
but very possible, at least on governmental standpoint. The great state of Illinois and one of the
original state, North Carolina, have set up a state government very similar to the federal government
and similar to each other. Their comparisons and contrasts are most noticeable in the legislative and
executive branches.
There are three main parts of an executive branch; The president, the vice president, and the cabinet.
The president is the head of the U.S. executive branch, but in state executive branches the governor is
the head honcho. Every State in America has a governor that is the chief executive of the state,

legislative branch typically is a bicameral system. The only exception to this is the state of Nebraska
which only has a senate and not a house of representatives. The legislative power of the state of
Illinois is vested in the General Assembly, which is composed of a 59 member Senate and a 118
member House of Representatives. North Carolina s Senate has 50 members and their House of
Representatives has 120 members. After those blaring differences Illinois and North Carolina s
Legislature branches are quite similar. Their regular activities are enacting, amending or repealing
laws, passing resolutions, adopting appropriation bills and conducting inquiries on proposed
legislation. Both states legislation acts on amendments to the U.S. Constitution when they are
submitted by Congress, and proposes and submits amendments to the Illinois Constitution for
consideration by voter. During the scenario of an impeachment, both states House of Representatives
has the sole power of impeachment, while the Senate serves as adjudicator. If a majority of the
members of the House vote to impeach, the case proceeds to the Senate for trial. The Senate cannot
impose any punishment on an impeached and convicted office holder other than removal from office.
These two states show multiple similarities in the legislative branch and very few differences.
As anyone can tell the two great states of Illinois and North Carolina have many similarities and
differences in their legislative and executive branches of state government. Overall, one thing is sure
these two states contribute the magnificents of the greatest nation on earth; The United States of

Money Laundering
Throughout history, America and other global economies have consistently battled for equality and
fairness in their country. Many new legislations and laws have been implemented and added
throughout the years to adapt to the new technological advances each market has encountered. Even
so, the question of ethics has been raised weighing whether or not each new law meets the ethics in
business and morality. One important obstacle that is still at the forefront of new legislation and posed
for ethical evaluation is money laundering. Money laundering has survived the years through
questions of morality and lawfulness by adapting to rigorous restraints and finding new ways to
manifest itself in different segmentation forms of trade. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
His beliefs are opposite of the general population. His overall view is that money laundering is not a
major crime and that we have imposed a form of double jeopardy for those violating these particular
crimes. He also believes that we should lessen the consequences because he believes they are not
linked to other crimes. Many illegal activities have been encouraged with money laundering. It is
much easier on our government to find perpetrators if money laundering was absolved. By money
laundering being absolved, our government would pick up on traffickers easier because they would
have no way of accounting for their large and unexplainable income. With our government having
specialty government services like the Internal Revenue Service, drug traffickers would be detected
faster because of unexplained purchases that are higher than their recorded yearly income. Once that
occurs the government would be able to isolate large expenditures that traffickers usually use their
funds for. Some examples would be lavish vehicles, extravagant personal residences and large
investments. To combat money laundering, FAFT issued the 40 Recommendations in 1990 and revised

The Basilica Of The Assumption Of Our Lady Of Valencia
Art, the way that many cultures have expressed their ideals and culture through out time. Many artists
from multiple cultures have arisen and created masterpieces of art: Everything from paintings, to
massive architecture, and statues. The massive piece of art I will be focusing on today will be the
Basilica of the Assumption of our Lady of Valencia or The Valencia Cathedral for short. This massive
architecture shows a compelling example of Gothic art during this era.
The cathedral first came to be after the Christian s re conquered Valencia back from the Arab
communities, who had conquered it from the Spaniards in 723 C.E. While under the Moors (Arab
Empire) control the old church that stood there became a mosque. After the Spanish acquired Valencia
back, the bishop of Valencia ruled the mosque was to be replaced for a Basilica. This was to
strengthen the support for the Christian religion and to recruit more people to the church. This effort
was made to rekindle and bring piece of mind to the people in the region who stayed while the Moors
soldiers ruled. So in 1238 C.E. the Valencia Cathedral was born. As gothic style of art swept Europe,
the pope at the time decided to adopt this style of art. As the book Art: A Brief History states, By the
middle thirteenth century builders had thoroughly mastered the design principles and building
technology of Gothic architecture and began to focus attention on elaborating and refining the visual
elements of the style.

Beach Descriptive Essay
After lazily waking up, my family and I head to the beach to enjoy the brisk day. It s only around
seventy five degrees, but that doesn t falter our excitement for the beach. The sun shines through the
clouds as we head down to pick a spot. The waves are calm and inviting as we lay our stuff down. The
wind is moving through the beachgrass like a quiet whisper. The seagulls caw, and attempt to steal the
snacks we brought. There s some kids playing in the water, but more are playing in the sand since the
water s so cold. Days like this are quite typical at the beach in Hilton Head, South Carolina.
In Hilton Head, near Coligny Beach, the small village where we stay is quite somnolent. It seems like
no one is ever awake before 9am. In the center of the sleepy town there s a Piggly Wiggly. Everyone
goes in there to get their groceries and beach supplies. Next to it there s an ice cream shop, the Frozen
Moo, which has some of the best ice cream I ve ever had. The shop has at least ninety different flavors
from Apple Pie to Rainbow Sherbet. There s a mural on the wall of cows surfing at the beach with
brightly colored chairs and tables; going along with the cow theme, there s even a life size replica of a
cow that they dress up for holidays. When walking into the town center, the beach is right across from
it. The smell of the ocean air and breeze coming through the town almost hypothesizes you to move
towards the waves. Since it s fairly cold in the morning, no one is ever there.

Ishtar Gate Research Paper
Another spectacular structure in Babylon is the Ishtar Gate. The Ishtar gate is the eighth and final
entrance to the city of Babylon, but it is the main way to enter the city on special occasions. The Ishtar
Gate was constructed by the means of Nebuchadnezzar around 575 BC. He built this to make his city
beautiful and full of life along with the Hanging Gardens of Babylon. The Ishtar Gate was originally
one of the Seven Wonders of the World like the Hanging Gardens of Babylon, but was removed and
replaced with something suppodsly better than this beautiful gate and the walls that surround it. Ishtar
was named after the goddess that was worshiped by the means of the people who are located in
Babylon. Ishtar was the goddess of love, war, fertility, and sex. ... Show more content on

The dragons represent the god of Marduk. Marduk was a god, but historians believe what he was god
of is unclear because of the fact that it is very complicated, and they do not have enough evidence to
support it. The tiles of the actual gate were glazed blue tiles. The blue tiles are believed to come from
lapis lazuli which is a metamorphic rock packed with the dense, rich mineral called lazurite. After
entering and passing through the gatehouse, a long, straight path called the Processional Way runs into
Babylon. This is about half a mile long paved with red brick on the outer parts and yellow brick in the
middle. Each of the bricks used to make the path have a inscription underneath them. The inscriptions
are small prayers from King Nebuchadnezzar to Marduk the god. The walls are estimated at about
fifty feet high, and the wall are lined with around one hundred and twenty lions made of gold, brown,
and yellow bricks. The lions represent the goddess that the whole gate is named after, Ishtar.175 The
Processional Way was used for the New Year s celebration, through which statues of the deities would
parade down. This beautiful and lively path led to the temple that Marduk was worshiped

Skin Elasticity And How To Keep Skin Elastic
Skin Elasticity And How To Keep Skin Elastic
Introduction
Like other organs in the body, the skin is supposed to remain healthy and elastic throughout life.
However, skin elasticity tends to deteriorate with aging. Exposure to direct rays of the sun, bad
lifestyle habits like smoking, and irregular diets cause damage over a period of time. The good news is
skin elasticity can be revived with simple methods as well as minimally invasive procedures.
How The Body Loses Normal Skin Elasticity
Healthy skin changes shape and then springs back to normal almost instantly. The medical fraternity
considers skin turgor a measure of skin elasticity. Dehydration or fluid loss is responsible for the skin
losing its elasticity and can happen due to various reasons including vomiting or low fluid intake. Skin
with decreased turgor stays in extended position and takes more time to return to normal status.
Topical Treatments To Retain Skin Elasticity
One of the basic elements of healthy skin is to adopt a balanced diet and gather ample rest on a daily
basis. Cleaning and washing the skin regularly helps remove dirt and other impurities thereby
preventing clogging of sensitive skin pores. Ideally, the skin must be washed at least twice a day with
mild soap devoid of fragrance. Subtle use of make up does tend to improve elasticity.
Urban living demands precautionary measures to prevent higher levels of pollution from affecting the
skin. Several oil free moisturizers are available in the local

a.
The two firms have equal value; let V represent the total value of the firm.
Rosencrantz could buy one percent of Company B s equity and borrow an amount equal to:

This investment requires a net cash outlay of (0.007V) and provides a net cash return of:

The key investment in America was its $1 billion dollar investment in the production facility located
in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Stefan Jacoby, President and CEO of Volkswagen Group of America,
stated, This plant will build a new Mid size Sedan designed specifically for the U.S. market and
destined to play a key role in meeting our long term goal. 3 This plant alone created 2,000 direct jobs
in the region and is expected to produce $12 billion in income growth along with an added 9,500 jobs
over the project s lifetime.3 In addition to those impressive numbers of growth, the Group had
expectations of the plant to attain an annual capacity of 150,000 vehicles, mainly including their
Volkswagen TDI clean diesel technology. Other steps were taken in the operational sector of the
Group to strengthen its brand name. More than half of Volkswagen brand dealers have invested in the

incorporated their new Carefree Maintenance Program that assists their customers costs. It includes
that there are no charges for regularly scheduled maintenance for three years or 36,000 miles;

Essay about Challenges Associated with Teaching Emergency...
Introduction In this module I would briefly discuss the challenges associated with teaching in
Emergency Medicine (EM), how these challenges influences my approach to teaching in EM. I would
describe what teaching and learning methods I adapted to in EM to address the learning outcomes of
the trainee doctors. Finally I would aim to reflect on the approach and methods used and my role in
the process. Challenges in EM EM is highly attractive specialty. Internationally, EM residencies rank
among the top few specialties attracting junior doctors of the highest calibre in large numbers (College

injuries. The time to teach was when they were in the middle of the placements so they must have seen
common head injuries presentation in EM. Aim of the session was to competently manage any patient
with head injury. Objective was demonstrating knowledge needed to take 1) history, 2) knowledge to
perform examination and 3) knowledge to manage a patient with head injury. Rather than giving
lecture to achieve these three objectives, I wanted to explore their clinical experiences of seeing the
head injury patient in ED first. It should start with interaction and giving them opportunity to recall
their knowledge and experience. This has two distinct advantages one is that I would have opportunity
of knowing about the learners, what stage they are and what they need to learn at this stage without
giving them any extra information and secondly after their recall, they have opportunity to build on
their existing knowledge. In order to achieve above, I wrote three common head injury presentation

United Airlines, Inc., commonly referred to as united, is the fourth largest airline in the United States
and one of the largest airlines in the world. It is one of the world s largest airline when it comes to

The Evil Of Animal Rights Essay
Today, the discussions about the protection of the animal s rights have received the attention of many
people, many countries in the world. A lot of actions have been made by animal right activists to

unhealthy infestation. Here are 3 signs you need to call an exterminator. Daytime Pests Most bugs will
only come out at night, when your home is most quiet and dark. This is a great time for these
nocturnal creatures to search for food and water, since you, your pets, and other dangers to the bugs
are not in their way. Unfortunately, seeing pests out in your home during the day can be a sign that
you have an infestation. Contacting a professional ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
An extermination service can inspect your home for signs of high moisture before giving you advice
on eradicating the problem. This will prevent future problems while treating existing infestations.
Droppings Inside the Home The presence of fecal matter in your home is a sure sign that you need to
hire an exterminator. These droppings are difficult to see. Since they may resemble different things,
you may not realize the dropping are fecal matter from pests. Droppings may look similar to coffee
grounds, black pepper, or small black or brown pellets. Obviously, the look of the droppings will
depend on the specific types of pests inside your home. However, your exterminator will be able to
determine what bugs or rodents are affecting your home and health by just looking at these droppings.
Preventing a pest problem is imperative for your home s look and your family s health. If you are
noticing one or more of the above signs, contact the professional extermination service in Frisco, TX,

Puritan Values In A Break With Charity, By Ann Rinaldi
During today s trials, people are innocent until proven guilty. But long ago, during the Salem Witch
Trials, people were guilty until proven innocent. This was not the best system, and its flaws are
represented in the novel, A Break with Charity. Set in 17th century Massachusetts, A Break with
Charity by Ann Rinaldi depicts a young girl at her worst. Susanna English (the main character) lives in
Salem Town. The strict Puritan values in Salem leads a circle of girls to portray themselves as haunted
by witches, causing chaos for themselves, Susanna, and Tituba. Using dialogue, the author flawlessly
shows how poor choices lead to consequences.

aftermath of the girls faulty decisions.
Another main character, Susanna, does not tell anyone what she knows about the circle of girls, which
leads to her family breaking apart. At the start of the novel, Susanna s father shows that he does not
believe in witches when he says Witches in Boston. I didn t believe it then, and I won t believe it now
(69). This obviously influences Susanna, and she does not believe in witchcraft either, which leads her
to directly ask Ann Putnam, the ringleader of the circle, what she is up to. There, she comes to know
that the girls are faking being haunted, but is threatened by Ann Putnam I think you will not tell what
you know, she said quietly. For if you do, we will cry out on your parents (123). Readers understand
that Susanna takes the threat to her parents seriously when she does stay quiet. Even when her mother

Tea Chromatography
Introduction
In this lab session, physical transformations were used to separate caffeine content from tea and
separate components by chromatography. The caffeine content was determined by extracting it from
the tea solution by adding sodium carbonate and dichloromethane into the tea and then and then
evaporating the solvent, using a hot plate. By weighing the empty beaker and the beaker after the
solvent has been evaporated on a top loading scale, the mass of caffeine was calculated. In the second
experiment, paper chromatography was used to separate the dyes in colored markers. The purpose of
this experiment is to observe how chromatography can be used to separate mixtures of chemical
substances. Chromatography serves mainly as a tool for ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Discussion
By calculation, the amount of caffeine contained within 100 mL of the tea solution is approximately
26.8 mg. This data may be imprecise due to the possible errors during the extraction of caffeine from
the tea. Errors could have been made during phase separation and how vigorously or gentle the
mixture was shook. Also, errors could have been made during the filtration process and not separating
enough of the tea mixture from the dichloromethane, thus causing the calculation to be

Comparison Of Chinatown And The Big Sleep
Comparing ChinaTown and the Big Sleep
ChinaTown, directed by Roman Polanski, is a non traditional hard nosed detective film made in the 70
s. The typical elements of character type are there; J.J. Gittes (a private detective in LA) played by
Jack Nicholson is the central character, sharing the spotlight is Fay Dunaway playing the femme fatale
Evelyn Mulwray. This film breaks all types of norms when compared to the hard nosed detective films
it is modeled after. The film is filled with allusions to the Big Sleep, especially taken from scenes of
Marlowe and Vivian. Chinatown has formal elements indicative that it is going to be in the style of

socially smooth and rather witty. You could almost say Gettis is clumsy and crass. The impression we
are left with about Gettis is normalizing. Gettis loses the stature that comes with a protagonist filled
with bravado. He comes off kind of plain, almost corny, a regular guy.
As a detective Gettis has done very well by himself. He has Venetian blinds in his office, wears a well

barely getting by with P.I. work. It is implied that he isn t materialistic and it wouldn t out of character

opening scene doesn t paint Gettis into a picture of the model for ethics.

Different Cooperative Communication Schemes Like Relay...
Abstract
In this survey, we will discuss about different cooperative communication schemes like Relay
communication and Node cooperative system. Later on we will perform comparison between
conventional communication system and cooperative relay scheme based on power efficiency. We will
also discuss about various factors that will impact the efficiency of cooperative systems. We will
conclude with applications of cooperative communication in LTE advanced.
Cooperative communication
Technological convergence in telecommunications and networking has made it possible to bring
voice, data (internet) and other multimedia services over single channel. This has led to significant
increase in network resource demands especially for wireless networks. To address these tremendous
network demands we need to use communication resources efficiently i.e., through Cooperative
communications.
Cooperative communication system uses intelligent nodes or base stations that can consciously help
other nodes to transfer information from the source to the final destination with increased spectral
efficiency and extended coverage in case of Cellular Base stations.
Cooperation in the communication networks can be realized using Relaying and Node Cooperative
systems [1].
Relay communication system
In Relay system, first transmitter sends the data to the relay node and information received by the
relay node is forwarded to next node and finally to the destination receiver by following cooperation

Dole s Presidential Campaign Essay
When one reflects upon the various characteristics of all the previous presidents in the history of
America, one trait has remained unchanged: they have all been male. In well over 200 years and 57
presidential elections, the United States has never elected a woman as president. Still more telling, a
woman has never even been nominated to run for president at the top of the ticket of a major national
political party in the U.S., and only two, Geraldine Ferraro and Sarah Palin, have been selected for the
number two slot. Nevertheless, women have been running for the nation s highest office even before
they earned the right to vote in 1920 with the passage of the 19th Amendment. In 1872 Victoria

Consumer Affairs in both the Johnson and Nixon Administrations (Gutgold 109). Other notable

and as the President of the American Red Cross (Gutgold 109 110). When considering the period in
which she grew up, she truly was an accomplished woman. Research shows that women candidates
are assumed to be less qualified than men to hold public office, even when they have more experience
and stronger credentials (Carroll and Fox 55). With this in mind, it is most likely one of the main
reasons why Dole strongly stressed her personal and career experiences during the campaign. She
undoubtedly hoped to use her background as evidence of her readiness for the nation s highest office

Study of Oxidation of Stainless Steel in Hot rolling
Background
Studies on the oxidation of stainless in hot rolling have obtained much attention during the last few
decades where the finishing temperature ranges from 850 1100 °C.
Oxidation is the formation of oxide rich scale that slows down further oxidation when formed. In
stainless steels at elevated temperatures (up to 1100°C), this oxide scale is necessary as it is
predominantly chromium rich and prevents further oxidation. On the other hand the metal lost in the
formation of oxide will reduce the effective strength of the steel section [1].
According to the British Stainless Steel Association [2], it is obvious that the oxidation resistance
depends mainly on temperature, gas ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Preliminary findings
In recognition of this problem, the School of Mechanical, Material and Mechatronics Engineering at
the University of Wollongong has set a developed high temperature steel testing experiment, and
already made recommendations which will be a starting point for future research about various factors
affecting the oxidation process. This document represents the test conducted on steel in hot rolling
particularly steel grade AISI 445. We describe our preliminary findings regarding the oxidation of
stainless in hot rolling and make specific recommendations for procedures that will lead to an
improved experience.

Effect of steel grade composition on oxidation resistance (alloying element)
The chromium content plays a big role in oxidation resistance or scaling. Most austenitic steels, with
chromium contents of at least 18%, can be used at temperatures up to 870°C and grades 309, 310 and
2111HTR even higher while martensitic and ferritic steels have lower resistance to oxidation and
hence lower useful operating temperatures.
Also, Nickel also helps improve oxidation resistance. This is probably due to improved oxide layer
adhesion. Silicon and aluminium are also added to improve oxidation resistance in limited

hollowness that I think directly relates back to his relationship with his father and is the same lack of
emotion that lead Nick to go to war and to continue wandering by himself after he returns. It is this

Historical Analysis Of Cinderella
I chose to do romantic love for my myth analysis. The components to a romantic love are like a fairy
tale. Women are waiting to find their knight and shiny armor. Men and women expect to have the
perfect marriage and live happily ever after. In romantic myths couples are seen as perfect with no
issues at all. Romantic love is shown in movies, songs, and novels. Romantic love never shows the
actuality of realistic relationships. Realistically people get divorced more than marriage. The first
artifact I pick is the movie Cinderella. Cinderella is an orphan mistreated by her step sisters, and mom.
One night Cinderella god mother grants her w carriage. An example, of romantic love is when she

Analysis Of Les Miserables
Les Miserables is by far one of my favorite stories/ movies. There are so many underlying views
though out. The original author of Les Miserables was Victor Hugo. Victor Hugo himself is a very
interesting gentleman that lived in a very complicated time period with lots of political issues, which I
believe come out in this movie.
Jean Valjean, is who Hugo chose as the hero of Les Miserables ultimately. However, in the beginning
it starts out by portraying him as a bad guy and someone who focuses on his hate. His hate is directed
at Inspector Javert, the officer who sentences him to his prison term, which was hard labor. Jean
Valjean s hatred for him, the inspector, and his vengeance tends to only fester throughout the movie.
Once paroled, Jean Valjean discovers the bishop of Digne along his path. The bishop takes him in and
gives him a place to stay along food. Jean Valjean decides to steal the bishops silverware. When the
bishop discovers that Jean Valjean has stolen his silver he shows him mercy and tells him kindly, Jean
Valjean, my brother, you no longer belong to what is evil, but to what is good. I have bought your soul
to save it from black thoughts and the spirit of perdition, and I give it to God . This explains the
importance of forgiveness and ultimately helps Jean Valjean understand that taking vengeance upon
Javert, the inspector that sentenced him to hard labor, is not the answer.
The movie shows Jean Valjean s life from a sinner basically being redeemed by

Anthropogenic Noise Pollution And Its Effects On Cetaceans
Anthropogenic Noise Pollution and Its Effects on Cetaceans
Cetaceans use sound extensively in both communication, hunting, and navigation. However as
humanity continues to make use of the ocean we are constantly filling it with equipment that produces
high amounts of sound. These devices are starting to have an impact on cetaceans worldwide, from
mass strandings often linked to military exercises to area denials caused by busy commercial shipping
lanes and seismic surveys. If consideration is not taken towards this problem now it could develop into
something that could have degrading effects on cetacean populations in the future. Sound waves are
nothing more than an energy transfer through a medium be it through a liquid, solid, or a gas. Sound
pressure or intensity is measured on logarithmic scale in decibels dB which increases on an order of
magnitude. For instance a quiet conversation would be around 30 dB and whereas the human pain
threshold would be just over 100 dB. While the pitch or frequency of the sound is measured in hertz or
Hz, the higher the hertz the higher the pitch of the sound and vice versa (Hildebrand, 2004).
Anthropologic noise pollution can come from many different sources, some of the more common ones
are commercial shipping, acoustic deterrent devices, military sonar, and explosives (used in some
seismic surveys for oil and gas as well as military exercises). The main focus will be on military sonar
use, seismic surveys, and acoustic deterrent

organisations exist and function within society and consequently are subject to a variety of social
influences. These influences, which include demography, social class and culture, can change over
time and affect both the demand and supply side of the economy. Marketing organisations recognise
and make use of these factors when segmenting markets for consumer goods and service Worthington,
I (2009) p.135. The social demand for chocolate varies for several reasons. One of which is a change
in the level of the population. The population of the UK is aging, people are living longer and there
are a lower percentage of children. This would indicate that although the population is increasing
because of people living longer there are fewer children, which is the main consumer for the chocolate
industry resulting in less demand for the product. Another factor is the nation becoming more health

has increased consumer awareness and is affecting the decisions that are made in respect to the foods

Over Concentration Of Services Essay
This study identifies four strands of thought that outline the factors which can lead to the over
concentration of services; traditional trade theory, new trade theory, new economic geography theory
and the interplay between globalisation and competition. It is from this four factors in which the
negative effects of the over concentration of services are created. These negative effects will be
discussed and analysed in a bid to understand what can done to reduce them. Polycentricity and
territorial cohesion policy, and the measures associated with their implications, are identified as the
tools for reducing the negative effects of over concentration. The study also questions the extent of
success of these tools. Europe is viewed as the best platform to comprehend the relevant concepts and
thus will provide the context in which to carry out the study.
Traditional trade theory explains the over concentration of services through variations in labour skills
and other contributions to production (Heckscher 1919; Ohlin 1933), or in productivity (Ricardo
1917). These differences establish comparative advantages (Ricardo 1917) between cities, regions and
countries. Thus, trade allows the concentration of services to grow and shrink in reaction to these
advantages.
In reality, cities, regions and countries may have different production arrangements but similar
production technologies (Krugman 1991a). Post Fordist countries predominantly trade goods of a
similar product type, i.e.

Management Techniques
Management has transformed immensely throughout the years as civilization has progressed and
acquired more knowledge about how to manage the workforce effectively. The first approaches to
management were effective at first but failed to make a long lasting stay in the management world as
times changed. It appears that all early tactics often met only one area of the business needs while
neglecting the others. It can be hard to find the right balance and then maintain that balance but
contemporary approaches to management aim to do just that. The sociotechnical theory, quantitative
management, organizational behavior, and the systems theory all work in different ways to maintain a
sort of balance within the businesses internal, competitive and macroenviroments. Keeping all areas of
the open system balanced is essential for any manager to have a successful business. The
sociotechnical theory was developed in the early 1950 s and was designed to refine the social
environment of the workplace to fit the needs of the company. Basically, the purpose of this theory
was to make sure the employees had the tools and knowledge they needed to effectively create goods
and services for the customers (Bateman, 2013). Unlike the human focus the sociotechnical theory
has, the quantitative management pays more attention to numbers. This type of management focuses
on creating and utilizing tools to keep track of all the inventory, profit, marketing, and other technical

Canon The Kite Runner
The novel The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini fits in the American literary canon because it exhibits
characteristics of American culture and has impact on it. The American literary canon is perpetually
changing and the criteria for being accepted has drastically changed over time. The exclusivity of
distinct canons insures that they remain influential but diverse, however canons previously only
consisted of old or dead white men. Since then, society has evolved it s way of thinking. Critics began
allowing a more diverse selection of authors into the canon, while still maintaining the exclusivity,
thus allowing The Kite Runner to be accepted into the canon. The American influenced themes and
Amir s experience in America make the novel a candidate

Physics Of A Food Manufacturer For The Following Reasons...
1 ABSTRACT
In this lab exercise, different approaches, Hydrometer, Pycnometer and refractometer, were used to
determine the total solids or concentration of two unknown samples. Standard curve of density vs
concentration and standard curve of specific gravity vs concentration were drawn with a series of
known concentrations of 10%, 20%, 30% sugar solution by weight. With the standard curve and the
specific gravity and refractive index of samples we obtained from the determination, we can calculate
the total solids of the samples:
2 INTRODUCTION AND OBJECTIVE
Total solids or concentration of a particular food is referred as the amount of solid concentrated
component present after removal of water (S. Suzanne Nielsen, 2010). This analytical value is of great
economic importance to a food manufacturer for the following reasons: economics consideration
(water is an inexpensive filler); solidcontent is often specified in compositional standards and can be
used as standard identification; computations of nutritional values of foods require the determination
of total solids (S. Suzanne Nielsen, 2010).
When different solutes are dissolved in a solution, the density change can be used to determine the
concentration of the solute. Since the direct measurement is difficult, the measurements use specific
gravity to determine the density of the liquid.
Specific gravity = (weight of x ml solution)/(weight of x ml of water)
Specific gravity is a relative value usually determined by the

Endgame Essay
In Samuel Beckett s, Endgame, Nagg presents a comedic joke by saying that Look at the world and
look at my TROUSERS. (Beckett, 775) This moment is comedic because he s comparing the creation
of the earth to the amount of weeks it took the tailor to make his trousers. Furthermore, this moment
affected me emotionally since one of the central themes throughout the story is death. There are many
instances of juxtaposes between the earth and the beauty of man s creation. Hamm, for example,
repeatedly states that there is no cure for living on earth and even goes as far as comparing this
experience to hell. The way in which Hamm describes the existing environment of living on earth is
astounding to hear since this supports the idea that he doesn t view life as a luxury. ... Show more

The idea that it took God only six days to make the world yet it took the tailor several weeks to make
a pair of trousers was certainly comical. I, however, found it odd and strange to see the perspectives of
Nagg and Nell in terms of how they approached life. It s not that they don t want to be alive, but in the
same they don t necessarily want to be dead. They simply don t see a purpose, which may explain why
he inserts these unconventional and absurd jokes in his play.
This strange dynamic brings into question the idea that their existence doesn t have any great
significance to it. There are certainly other examples throughout the text that support this hypothesis;
however it goes back to the central idea of human existence. This scene in particular is relevant to the
entire story as it reinforces the contradictions of humans and death. By emphasizing how pathetic the
world is, Beckett is painting a catastrophic picture of the earth as well as the consequences of living in

Houghton Hancock Area 25 Year Housing Plan
Houghton Hancock Area 25 Year Housing Plan
Background
The Houghton and Hancock area is heavy influenced by Finlandia and Michigan Tech Universities
with roughly 7,500 students between them. The cities of Houghton and Hancock had a total
population between them of 12,342 using data from the 2010 census. Seven percent of the population
of Houghton are 65 years of age or older whereas 13.8 percent of the State of Michigan s population is
of that age. The median household income was $27,661 and the median family income of $56,146 for
Houghton for the period of 2009 2013 with 42.1 percent of persons falling below the poverty level
(US Census and City of Houghton Master Plan). There are 1,734.1 persons per square mile in
Houghton. Because more ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The 2006 Campus Master Plan states that the dormitory style rooms of Douglas Houghton Hall,
Wadsworth, and McNair are not appropriate to upper class students and that apartment style housing is
needed. As of 2015, Michigan Tech offers a limited number of apartment units between Hillside Place
and the aging and out of style Daniell Heights apartments. There are several hotels in the area that
provide tourists a place to stay during summers and key events throughout the year.
Future Housing Approximately two thirds of Michigan Tech students live off campus, so around 4,600
students. Students demand rental housing so a large demand is created in Houghton, especially
locations closest to Michigan Tech s campus. Michigan Tech estimated the need for an additional 400
beds mostly in apartment style housing for student use in their 2006 Master Plan. Housing costs at
Michigan Tech run $9393 and up (including food) per academic year so rent should be marketed lower
to make it a viable option considering commuting expenses and inconveniences to campus. Many
houses Tech students live in now are larger low cost homes that are past/ well past their prime. As
these houses need to be removed, an emphasis should be placed on apartment style units as well as
semi, duplexes and up. Low rise or garden apartments would make the most sense for the area
considering the smaller population. A high rise apartment should only be

It is much easier on our government to find perpetrators if money laundering was absolved. By money laundering being absolved, our government would pick up on traffickers easier because they would have no way of accounting for their large and unexplainable income. With our government having specialty government services like the Internal Revenue Service, drug traffickers would be detected faster because of unexplained purchases that are higher than their recorded yearly income. Many artists from multiple cultures have arisen and created masterpieces of art: Everything from paintings, to massive architecture, and statues. The massive piece of art I will be focusing on today will be the Basilica of the Assumption of our Lady of Valencia or The Valencia Cathedral for short. This massive architecture shows a compelling example of Gothic art during this era. The cathedral first came to be after the Christian s re conquered Valencia back from the Arab communities, who had conquered it from the Spaniards in 723 C.E. While under the Moors (Arab Empire) control the old church that stood there became a mosque. After the Spanish acquired Valencia back, the bishop of Valencia ruled the mosque was to be replaced for a Basilica. This was to strengthen the support for the Christian religion and to recruit more people to the church. This effort was made to rekindle and bring piece of mind to the people in the region who stayed while the Moors soldiers ruled. So in 1238 C.E. the Valencia Cathedral was born. As gothic style of art swept Europe, the pope at the time decided to adopt this style of art. As the book Art: A Brief History states, By the middle thirteenth century builders had thoroughly mastered the design principles and building technology of Gothic architecture and began to focus attention on elaborating and refining the visual elements of the style. ... It s only around seventy five degrees, but that doesn t falter our excitement for the beach. The sun shines through the clouds as we head down to pick a spot. In Hilton Head, near Coligny Beach, the small village where we stay is quite somnolent. It seems like no one is ever awake before 9am. In the center of the sleepy town there s a Piggly Wiggly. Everyone goes in there to get their groceries and beach supplies. Next to it there s an ice cream shop, the Frozen Moo, which has some of the best ice cream I ve ever had. Skin Elasticity And How To Keep Skin Elastic Skin Elasticity And How To Keep Skin Elastic Introduction Like other organs in the body, the skin is supposed to remain healthy and elastic throughout life. However, skin elasticity tends to deteriorate with aging. Exposure to direct rays of the sun, bad lifestyle habits like smoking, and irregular diets cause damage over a period of time. The good news is skin elasticity can be revived with simple methods as well as minimally invasive procedures. How The Body Loses Normal Skin Elasticity Healthy skin changes shape and then springs back to normal almost instantly. The medical fraternity considers skin turgor a measure of skin elasticity. Dehydration or fluid loss is responsible for the skin losing its elasticity and can happen due to various reasons including vomiting or low fluid intake. Skin with decreased turgor stays in extended position and takes more time to return to normal status. Topical Treatments To Retain Skin Elasticity One of the basic elements of healthy skin is to adopt a balanced diet and gather ample rest on a daily basis. Cleaning and washing the skin regularly helps remove dirt and other impurities thereby preventing clogging of sensitive skin pores. Ideally, the skin must be washed at least twice a day with mild soap devoid of fragrance. Subtle use of make up does tend to improve elasticity. But long ago, during the Salem Witch Trials, people were guilty until proven innocent. This was not the best system, and its flaws are represented in the novel, A Break with Charity. Set in 17th century Massachusetts, A Break with Charity by Ann Rinaldi depicts a young girl at her worst. Susanna English (the main character) lives in Salem Town. The strict Puritan values in Salem leads a circle of girls to portray themselves as haunted by witches, causing chaos for themselves, Susanna, and Tituba. Abstract In this survey, we will discuss about different cooperative communication schemes like Relay communication and Node cooperative system. Later on we will perform comparison between conventional communication system and cooperative relay scheme based on power efficiency. We will also discuss about various factors that will impact the efficiency of cooperative systems. We will conclude with applications of cooperative communication in LTE advanced. Cooperative communication Technological convergence in telecommunications and networking has made it possible to bring voice, data (internet) and other multimedia services over single channel. This has led to significant increase in network resource demands especially for wireless networks. To address these tremendous network demands we need to use communication resources efficiently i.e., through Cooperative communications. Cooperative communication system uses intelligent nodes or base stations that can consciously help other nodes to transfer information from the source to the final destination with increased spectral efficiency and extended coverage in case of Cellular Base stations. Cooperation in the communication networks can be realized using Relaying and Node Cooperative systems [1]. Study of Oxidation of Stainless Steel in Hot rolling Background Studies on the oxidation of stainless in hot rolling have obtained much attention during the last few decades where the finishing temperature ranges from 850 1100 °C. Oxidation is the formation of oxide rich scale that slows down further oxidation when formed. In stainless steels at elevated temperatures (up to 1100°C), this oxide scale is necessary as it is predominantly chromium rich and prevents further oxidation. Jean Valjean, is who Hugo chose as the hero of Les Miserables ultimately. However, in the beginning it starts out by portraying him as a bad guy and someone who focuses on his hate. His hate is directed at Inspector Javert, the officer who sentences him to his prison term, which was hard labor. Anthropogenic Noise Pollution And Its Effects On Cetaceans Anthropogenic Noise Pollution and Its Effects on Cetaceans Cetaceans use sound extensively in both communication, hunting, and navigation. However as humanity continues to make use of the ocean we are constantly filling it with equipment that produces high amounts of sound. These devices are starting to have an impact on cetaceans worldwide, from mass strandings often linked to military exercises to area denials caused by busy commercial shipping lanes and seismic surveys. If consideration is not taken towards this problem now it could develop into something that could have degrading effects on cetacean populations in the future. Sound waves are nothing more than an energy transfer through a medium be it through a liquid, solid, or a gas. Sound pressure or intensity is measured on logarithmic scale in decibels dB which increases on an order of magnitude. For instance a quiet conversation would be around 30 dB and whereas the human pain threshold would be just over 100 dB. While the pitch or frequency of the sound is measured in hertz or Hz, the higher the hertz the higher the pitch of the sound and vice versa (Hildebrand, 2004). Anthropologic noise pollution can come from many different sources, some of the more common ones are commercial shipping, acoustic deterrent devices, military sonar, and explosives (used in some seismic surveys for oil and gas as well as military exercises). • 41. Over Concentration Of Services Essay This study identifies four strands of thought that outline the factors which can lead to the over concentration of services; traditional trade theory, new trade theory, new economic geography theory and the interplay between globalisation and competition. It is from this four factors in which the negative effects of the over concentration of services are created. These negative effects will be discussed and analysed in a bid to understand what can done to reduce them. Polycentricity and territorial cohesion policy, and the measures associated with their implications, are identified as the tools for reducing the negative effects of over concentration. The study also questions the extent of success of these tools. Europe is viewed as the best platform to comprehend the relevant concepts and thus will provide the context in which to carry out the study. Traditional trade theory explains the over concentration of services through variations in labour skills and other contributions to production (Heckscher 1919; Ohlin 1933), or in productivity (Ricardo 1917). These differences establish comparative advantages (Ricardo 1917) between cities, regions and countries. Thus, trade allows the concentration of services to grow and shrink in reaction to these advantages. It appears that all early tactics often met only one area of the business needs while neglecting the others. It can be hard to find the right balance and then maintain that balance but contemporary approaches to management aim to do just that. The sociotechnical theory, quantitative management, organizational behavior, and the systems theory all work in different ways to maintain a sort of balance within the businesses internal, competitive and macroenviroments. Keeping all areas of the open system balanced is essential for any manager to have a successful business. The sociotechnical theory was developed in the early 1950 s and was designed to refine the social environment of the workplace to fit the needs of the company. Physics Of A Food Manufacturer For The Following Reasons... 1 ABSTRACT In this lab exercise, different approaches, Hydrometer, Pycnometer and refractometer, were used to determine the total solids or concentration of two unknown samples. Standard curve of density vs concentration and standard curve of specific gravity vs concentration were drawn with a series of known concentrations of 10%, 20%, 30% sugar solution by weight. With the standard curve and the specific gravity and refractive index of samples we obtained from the determination, we can calculate the total solids of the samples: 2 INTRODUCTION AND OBJECTIVE Total solids or concentration of a particular food is referred as the amount of solid concentrated component present after removal of water (S. Suzanne Nielsen, 2010). This analytical value is of great economic importance to a food manufacturer for the following reasons: economics consideration (water is an inexpensive filler); solidcontent is often specified in compositional standards and can be used as standard identification; computations of nutritional values of foods require the determination of total solids (S. Suzanne Nielsen, 2010). When different solutes are dissolved in a solution, the density change can be used to determine the concentration of the solute. (Beckett, 775) This moment is comedic because he s comparing the creation of the earth to the amount of weeks it took the tailor to make his trousers. Furthermore, this moment affected me emotionally since one of the central themes throughout the story is death. There are many instances of juxtaposes between the earth and the beauty of man s creation. Hamm, for example, repeatedly states that there is no cure for living on earth and even goes as far as comparing this experience to hell. The way in which Hamm describes the existing environment of living on earth is astounding to hear since this supports the idea that he doesn t view life as a luxury. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The idea that it took God only six days to make the world yet it took the tailor several weeks to make a pair of trousers was certainly comical. I, however, found it odd and strange to see the perspectives of Nagg and Nell in terms of how they approached life. It s not that they don t want to be alive, but in the same they don t necessarily want to be dead. They simply don t see a purpose, which may explain why he inserts these unconventional and absurd jokes in his play. This strange dynamic brings into question the idea that their existence doesn t have any great significance to it. There are certainly other examples throughout the text that support this hypothesis; however it goes back to the central idea of human existence. This scene in particular is relevant to the entire story as it reinforces the contradictions of humans and death. By emphasizing how pathetic the world is, Beckett is painting a catastrophic picture of the earth as well as the consequences of living in this ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The 2006 Campus Master Plan states that the dormitory style rooms of Douglas Houghton Hall, Wadsworth, and McNair are not appropriate to upper class students and that apartment style housing is needed. As of 2015, Michigan Tech offers a limited number of apartment units between Hillside Place and the aging and out of style Daniell Heights apartments. There are several hotels in the area that provide tourists a place to stay during summers and key events throughout the year. Future Housing Approximately two thirds of Michigan Tech students live off campus, so around 4,600 students. Students demand rental housing so a large demand is created in Houghton, especially locations closest to Michigan Tech s campus. Michigan Tech estimated the need for an additional 400 beds mostly in apartment style housing for student use in their 2006 Master Plan. Housing costs at Michigan Tech run $9393 and up (including food) per academic year so rent should be marketed lower to make it a viable option considering commuting expenses and inconveniences to campus. Many houses Tech students live in now are larger low cost homes that are past/ well past their prime. As these houses need to be removed, an emphasis should be placed on apartment style units as well as semi, duplexes and up. Low rise or garden apartments would make the most sense for the area considering the smaller population. A high rise apartment should only be ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
