American Art Observation
For this observation, I went to the American Art section on the first floor of the Philadelphia Museum
of Art. When you first walk into the exhibition you see a bunch of glass showcases and to the right
was a whole hallway and section designated to Thomas Eakins. The Thomas Eakins section is rather
large so I ventured there first. All of his pieces are so well done and lifelike. Although, there was so
much to pick from, I found a small brown set of five figures in a glass case the most interesting. Each
one is only the size of my hand. They are intriguing because not only are they in a well lit big glass
box in a darker hallway, but they are on a smaller scale than most of the other works of art around it.

Eakins was born in Philadelphia in 1844. He studied at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts in
1862 complimenting his artist career. A year later although, he decided to study anatomy at the
Jefferson Medical College (Krieg 191). This new found muse for anatomy sparked his realist artwork.
Eakins art historical significance is rooted in his identity as a studious realist whose painting draws its
force from extensive scientific research into anatomy, perspective, reflection and motion (Leja 479).
Pieces such as his anatomical bronze casts of the human foot and knee showed his appreciation for
capturing the little details and scale of the human body. The particular painting William Rush Carving
His Allegorical Figure of Schuylkill River was a step by step process. Eakins wanted this painting to
be as real as it could be, so he used different methods to capture details. For his first method, he
sculpted small figurines so he had a three dimensional object to be able to observe the subjects in
different points of view and to test light and shadow ( Philadelphia Museum of Art: Handbook of the
Collections ). Since this was just a mere step, he didn t spend too much time on it. He used scraps and
materials commonly found in his studio. The three figurines of The Schuylkill Freed, George
Washington, and the Water Nymph and Bittern were models of statues William Rush sculpted, that
Eakins wanted to include in his painting. These three

Symbolism In The Virgin Of Mamaz
In present day America, the Virgin of Guadalupe is held in high regard for her strength, love, and hope
that she emanates to Mexican Americans. One can say that she is the symbol and role model of
Mexico, or even a part of the private flag of Mexicans.1 However, the symbolism behind the Virgin of
Guadalupe is ambiguous; it holds both positive and negative meanings.2 The Virgin could also be seen
as an image of oppression towards Indians and women during the era of colonization in the New
World. To combat those views, Jeanette Rodriguez considers the Virgin as a beacon of hope for those
who were marginalized. Richard Rodriguez also argued that the Virgin created a new and lasting
identity for Mexican Americans despite the fact that the Spanish converted them into Catholics. That
new identity is explained in Ada Maria Isasi Diaz s essay, and highlights the significance of having
solidarity within the Latino community and identifying and fighting against the root causes of
oppression. Although the Virgin historically carried negative views of oppression among Latinos, she
can also be a symbol of maternal love, strength, and hope to fight against oppression that was and is
present in American society. Jeanette Rodriguez believes that the people today are not conquered by
Spanish religion; rather, they are taking parts of it to make it into their own religion and create a new
identity among the Mexican American community. While several churches today still reject the Virgin

Symptoms And Treatment Of Asthma
Background
Asthma is a perpetual, or long lasting, illness that could potentially be life threating. In the United
States of America, about 25 million people are known to have asthma[nhlbi]. About 7 million of the
25 million diagnosed with asthma are children[nhlbi]. Asthma can be described as the inflammation,
obstruction and hyperresposiveness of the airway.
Asthma might be classified as acute, sub acute or chronic inflammation of the airway. In asthma, there
is a spastic contraction of the smooth muscle in the bronchioles[gyton]. The presence of this airway
obstruction causes edema and mucus secretion. When there is an increased sensitivity to irritating
stimuli, bronchoconstriction occurs leading to hyperplasia of smooth muscle, hyper secretion and dis
modeling of the epithelium.
Anatomy of the Lung
The lung is located in the chest as part of the respiratory system. The respiratory systems consists of
the trachea, bronchi, lung, mediastinum, pleura and diaphragm. The left lung has two lobes, upper and
lower with a cardiac notch(where the heart is sits). The right lung on the other hand has three lopes,
upper, middle and lower lobes. The lungs is covered by the chest wall which is made up of muscles
and ribs. The mediastinum is the separation between the lungs and the other organs. The diaphragm is
the located below the lungs. This is a very thin muscle that provides a division for the chest cavity
from the abdomen. The

Connotation For Independence
Once upon a time Cuba was a state ruled by the American law. Then a man came, namely Fidel
Castro, and fought for an independent state of Cuba. After the death of thousands and intensive
diplomatic negotiations Cuba became an independent nation. Just like Castro s independence many
people strived to become independent throughout the history in different ways. Independence is a state
of being where one is free from the rule of authority. The desire for independence by the people
lacking it formed a positive connotation for the word; at the same time, unjustified negative
connotations of the word was developed by the individuals aiming to hinder the independence of
people.

Therefore, they are developing unjustified negative connotations for the word independence.
Independence of South Sudan was viewed positively by the South Sudanese people, but the Sudan
viewed it negatively. Although the Sudanese government didn t provide the necessary life standard for
South Sudanese people before the independence, this newly established nation was considered as a
problematic issue. Oppressed and oppressive people have contrary mindsets to each other. The aim of
the oppressed people is an enemy to be destroyed according to the oppressive people. In this case, the
objective is independence and the Sudanese government killed thousands of people to hinder the
independence of South Sudan. Eventually, Sudanese people began viewing independence as a threat to
their unity; which is a negative connotation of the word only confirmed by the oppressing people.

F. 30 Insomnia Case Study Student
Mr. M, a 54 year old man is taken to a sleep disorder facility for examination of daytime somnolence
and insomnia. He has been battling with anxiety and depression, a disorder he is being treated with.
He reports that he has been suffering from Insomnia for several years and only turned worse about 7
years ago. He is troubled with sleep initiation, which usually takes him over one hour to fall asleep. As
soon as he is asleep, he wakes up several times, which makes him to struggle again to go back to
sleep. He turns in bed without sleep until dawn when he gets up feeling fatigued and drained. The
major diagnosis is DSM 5 insomnia disorder. Given the comorbid indications of obstructive sleep
apnea and depression, it would perhaps be hard to assess whether Mr. M has DSM IV primary
insomnia since DSM 5 enables the clinician to generate an unpremeditated attribution between
obstructive sleep disorder and insomnia.

Adopting New Technologies in Nursing
Adopting New Technologies into Nursing Lisa M. Ehret
Walden University
Transforming Nursing and Healthcare through Information Technology
NURS 6051N 20
July 10, 2015
Adopting New Technologies into Nursing The healthcare system is a continuously evolving spectrum.
Nurses must take great strides in learning and adapting to new technologies to meet the standards of
the health care system. One significant change that has occurred throughout the last few years is the
transition from paper charting to utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems. This technological
change is a major development that has the potential to significantly impact the nursing role and

15). Thus, if possible, emphasizing the simple aspects of the chosen EHR while avoiding excessive
complexity during design will be an important aspect to avoid obstacles in the adoption of the new
practice. As the nurse facilitator, realization that the older generation may be confronted with
difficulty regarding technological innovation is crucial. Providing constructive, and tolerant
instruction will help with successful adaption of the new EHR for these individuals. Adequate training
and instruction, while ensuring user friendly technology was the base of the design for the new EHR
will help ensure simplicity and encourage positive outlook from staff and increase rates of adaptation.
Thus, emphasizing simplicity of use while avoiding complexity will give health care workers a
positive stance on their capabilities regarding the utilization of a new EHR.
Trialability
The fourth aspect of successful implementation is trialability. As described by Rogers (2003),
Trialability is the degree to which an innovation may be experimented with on a limited basis . An
easy way to interpret this aspect is that the more practice, the easier a concept becomes or practice
makes perfect . As the nurse facilitator, one must recognize and understand that adequate training and
available resources are the basis for trialability and success. Thus, the more the nurses who utilize the
new EHR, the faster a successful adaptation occurs. It is during this part of the

The Power of T.S. Eliot s The Waste Land Essay
The Power of T.S. Eliot s The Waste Land
T. S. Eliot, perhaps one of the most controversial poets of modern
times, wrote what many critics consider the most controversial poem of all,
The Waste Land. The Waste Land was written using a fragmented style. This
is a style that is evident in all of Eliot s writings. There are several
reasons for his using this approach, from a feeling of being isolated, to a
problem articulating thoughts (Bergonzi 18, Cuddy 13, Mack 1745, Martin
102).
What influenced Eliot the most in writing poetry was a book he read
written by the English critic, Arthur Symon, titled The Symbolist Movement
in Literature. This book is about French symbolist ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When Eliot began to compose The Waste Land, he used all the
different themes, techniques, and style s he had been developing to this
point. The Waste Land is developed entirely using fragments and quotations.
This is symbolic of his despair in succeeding in ever fully articulating
meaning. Although it is fragmented, it also reveals moments of continuity
and wholeness quantified with recurrent themes of time, alienation,
isolation, and articulation. Because Eliot used fragmentation as his style
when writing this poem, it survived being cut in half by the editing of
Ezra Pound. Many author s argue that Ezra Pound could have edited many
more parts out, without effecting the meaning Eliot was trying to convey
(Bergonzi 11, Mack 1743, Martin 20 22, 110, Ricks 9, Unger 18).
T. S. Eliot s use of estrangement in poems is his way of expressing
feelings between himself and the world. His inability to give himself to,
or to possess others is an example of the greater problem of isolation.
The isolation theme is prevalent throughout the Waste Land, with many of
his characters entwined. This is probably related to his problem of
articulating. Whatever his reason for using isolation it caused him to
turn towards god for answers. In 1927 he was accepted as a member of the
Church of England.

The Democratic Party And Jacksonian Democracy
Political parties are formed when voters have different ideology regarding government, economics,
and politics. The Second Party System emerged after the Democratic and Whig parties came to power
in America. The development of this party system was prompted by the clashing philosophies about
individual rights, government control, and land acquisition. Despite both parties being equally
prevalent in America, the Democratic Party flourished and was drastically much more successful than
the Whig Party at impacting the nation. Between 1824 and 1828, with the support of Andrew Jackson,
the Democratic Party was born. The beginning of this new Democratic era was known as Jacksonian
Democracy because it was led by Jackson and his ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Whigs coined their name from the 18th century word used to describe American and British
opponents of tyranny. They called themselves this because they believed that Jackson abused his
presidential veto and turned into a tyrant. The majority of the Whig party consisted of highly skilled
workers, successful business owners, and manufacturers that lived in New England and the Upper
Midwest. The Whig Party favored government support in economic and social affairs. The Whigs
believed that government influence promoted the growth and success of the economy. For this reason,
the Whigs favored the spread of banks, passing of tariffs, and new transportation projects. The Whigs
also believed that they could promote social progress by allowing the government to have control of
society through regulations and reforms such as the prohibition of alcohol and the prohibition of
business activities on Sundays. The Whigs also aimed to make society better through the building of
hospitals, insane asylums, and public schools. Whig philosophies revolved around strengthening the
economy and creating a progressive society.
Despite having a strong presence in America, the Whig Party s influence on the government and
economy never surpassed the impact of the Democratic Party. Throughout most of the presidencies
during the 19th century, the Democrats dominated the campaign. The Democrats executed many of
their aspirations leaving a long lasting

The Ancient Roman Empire
Rome, the first long and lasting empire that swept through other nations like wildfire. Rome broke the
barriers of politics and government. Rome also stood for something that citizens of today look at as
grotesque and savage. The fact that citizens would come together and cheer for another man while he
plunged his sword through his chest, with no understanding of life or family. The building that
represented this evil act is the Roman Coliseum. Although inside the coliseum death was glorified and
wished for the idea and meaning demonstrated politics and power. Rome was powerful in all meaning
of the power. Power is defined as the capability or the ability to direct or influence the behaviors of
others or the course of events. (sited by Dictornary.com). Rome certainly did this in a lot of ways.
Rome has both influenced culture and many other things. Rome itself stood over the world like a

emperor himself. One man that almost every dictator looks to as a shining example is Julius Caesar.
Julius Caesar traveled a lot as kid. And when he was young he was kidnapped by pirates. He also

Overpopulation is Not the Problem
As we sailed into the new millennium, humans crossed a threshold never before witnessed in our
species. We flew past the 6 billion mark in number. This is an impressive figure, but not one that we
can easily appreciate, unless we are Bill Gates or ExxonMobil.
Let s try to understand how incredibly large this number is. Consider that this article has ~9000 letters.
Thus, it would take more than 650,000 copies of it to produce enough letters to represent all humans.
Or, put in other terms, consider that if all the humans were to hold hands side by side, our species
would circumscribe the equator nearly 14 times! And perhaps, most horrifying, if we all were to move

Massive starvation, as observed in Ethiopia in 1973 and Bangladesh in 1974, didn t occur because
food wasn t available. These famines, and many others, occurred because large numbers of the

question of distribution not limitation. Current world debts have now reached proportions that
developing countries now spend $13 on debt repayment for every $1 it receives in grants (Global

While some countries, including the United States, store away surplus grain production as a security
blanket, many human beings don t get enough to eat on a regular basis. In many developing countries,
given its rewarding economic payoffs, large landowners harvest export crops (such as coffee and
tobacco) rather than food crops for local people. Also, and possibly most damning to the reading
audience, a diet rich in meat requires nearly ten times the land than that of a strict vegetarian s diet.
Nearly 40 percent of U.S. land is used for grazing livestock (which accounts for about two thirds of
agricultural land). While some of this land is more fit for free range grazing than vegetable crops,
much of it would be many times more productive if grains were grown rather than quot;meats. quot;

After America gained their independence from the British, the founding fathers would create a new
form of government named the Articles of Confederation. They had met in Philadelphia to adopt this
first official constitution in September of 1777, however, it was not ratified until March of 1781. There
were two main purposes of the Articles of Confederation. The first one had been to create unity
amongst the colonies, while the second purpose was to prove to the French, along with other foreign
countries, that America had a structured government. They needed to win over allies and set their
borders. The Articles of Confederation were effective in solving some of the new nation s problems to

Essay about A Brief History of the Hybrid Vehicle
Brief History of Hybrid Vehicle Development
First built in the early 1900s by inventors tinkering with combinations of the electric motor and the
gasoline engine, hybrid vehicles were dropped when gasoline fueled vehicles became more reliable
and easier to start, and gasoline fuel more readily available. Research and development of hybrid
vehicles was revived by concern about oil dependency in the1970s and about air pollution in the late
1980s.
A number of hybrid vehicles have been built and tested since 1980. Some of these vehicles have
impressed analysts with their performance and low levels of exhaust and petroleum consumption.
Interest in hybrid vehicles jumped in late 1993 with the announcement of funding for two major ...

It usually gives the car a range of 50 100 miles which is much less than that typically provided by a
fuel tank (300 miles).
The electric motor is the device that provides motion in an electric car. It converts the energy it
receives from the batteries into motion which is used to turn a transmission which then in turn rotates
the wheels. It is able to spin up to 15000 RPM and has up to 100 kW of power. Since this motion is
connected to the transmission, the transmission also spins the wheel up to this rate. Thus, electric cars
would tend to move faster than gasoline powered cars.
Components Common To Both The Electric Car And The Gasoline Powered Car
The transmission is the device that does the actual turning of the wheel in both cars.
There are several ways of combining the two sources of power found in a hybrid car.
The Parallel Hybrid Car: This has a fuel tank which supplies gasoline to the engine. In addition, it has
a set of batteries that supplies power to an electric motor. Both the engine and the engine motor can
turn the transmission at the same time and the transmission then turns the wheels.

batteries and electric motor also connect to the transmission independently. As a result, in a parallel
hybrid, both the electric motor and the gas engine can

Similarities Between Wicca And Witchcraft
Wiccans are Pagans; Pagans are not necessarily Wiccans; witches are not Wiccans. Wicca and
witchcraft are commonly amalgamated in Western popular culture and there are indeed some
similarities between them in part because of their common origin in Paganism. However, I will argue
that there are four major differences between Wicca and witchcraft concerning: their conceptions of
the deities, their organizations, their ceremonies and practices, and their views on reincarnation. On a
terminological note: by Paganism I mean spiritual paths characterized by nature worship and
polytheism or pantheism (Yardley 329), which Wiccans and witches fall under; by Wicca I mean a
form of worship, a spiritual system and also a system for developing and using psychic and magical
power (Crowley 11); and by witchcraft, I mean focusing on the practice of magic and healing (Yardley

Dealing In The Poem By W. H. Auden
The Poem was written by W.H Auden and was written in 1936.
The title in itself has many connotations of sadness. The word Funeral is associated with someone
dying. The word blues on the other hand is a type of Jazz that often conveys sadness. By combining
the two, we can see that the author has cleverly manipulated the title into conveying sadness.
The poem opens energetically, with an intensely emphasized verb Stop, a start that also suggests an
ending. Certainly, much of the rest of the poem is similarly constructed on heavily accentuated verbs
of command. The attitude of the poem is highly imperative. The poet gives out orders, but the
instructions he issues suggest that he cannot believe that the death of the certain person has happened.

Death severs this connection, creating a shift in how life is perceived. The strength of this is in
contrast with the images of death, the funeral preparations, and how society thinks of mourning that
are in the previous stanzas. The last line of the third stanza and the fourth stanza speak to the perpetual
sense of loss that death has on the plane of living.
In the fourth stanza the poet s agony rings out even more passionately. Here he stresses that Nature
notice his grief, calling it to extinguish the stars and the moon and the sun and get rid of the ocean. He
desires the world to reflect the emptiness within him left by death. Human monuments to the dead will
not be adequate at best. There is no optimism at the end of the poem; the reader is left with the very
real and very hostile sense of the man s grief, since no end can be accomplished without the poet s

Status Of Women In The 1800s
Throughout the twentieth century the status of women has been on a slow, but steady upward slope.
The women of this time worked extremely hard to earn the rights and status we hold today. The
improvements in the status of women were subtle in the beginning. In time though, it became well
known the overall status of women and how they once were viewed was to be changed for the better
in the eyes of society. The change in women s status included but was not limited to: improvement in
their every day work atmosphere, voting rights were given, and the ability to be noticed for their hard
work was achieved. Solely the women themselves did not achieve the noticeable improvement in the
status of women; the federal government played a large role in the improvement as well. The federal

Factories were unclean, held no proper safety regulations, and required the women to work long hour

Because the women were working these long hours they felt they needed to be heard when it came to

The Doctrine Of The Separation Of Power
Plan
In this essay I will be explaining how the doctrine of the separation of powers has been compromised
to a less extent in the nation like Australia. The first section will constitute in exploring the history and
the significance of the separation of the power doctrine. In the second section I will discuss about the
compromise of the doctrine, especially between the administrator and the legislature with some good
cases held in high court. Besides, some clarification will be provided to explain how the philosophical
system of separation of power is being compromised. This estimate will be supported by the depth
psychology of several examples and articles where the doctrine has been compromised concluding
that the total separation of the power is merely a myth but as well in spite of that the doctrine protects
the individual rights.
Information will be gathered from legitimate sources as reflected in the references so as to approach
this essay in an academic way. I have segmented my work over 3 weeks, commencing my research
work and preparing my plan on week5, gathering relevant cases and information from books, articles
and also from web during week6 and starting my essay on week7 so that it will be finished on time.

It is well known that the Separation of Powers doctrine is sine qua non for maintaining the rule of law
however, an absolute separation of power does not exist in the Australian legal system.

Burden Of Leadership In Lord Of The Flies
Burden of Leadership
In the words of William Shakespeare, uneasy lies the head that wears the crown. In William Golding s
novel Lord of the Flies, many of the characters are faced with the responsibility of authority.
Throughout the events of the novel, Ralph tries to keep his power. Jack works to gain power and the
role of chief. Piggy, as opposed to Jack and Ralph, works to achieve respect. In the novel Lord of the
Flies, William Golding effectively conveys the idea that the responsibility of leadership can weigh
heavily upon those unfit for power, resulting in fractures throughout society.
The effect of authority is reflected in the character of Ralph, through his struggle to maintain his
power. After the hunters brag about killing their first pig, Ralph declares there was a ship. Out there.
You said you d keep the fire going and you let it out! (74). The authority he wields over the boys is
beginning to diminish through the boy s refusal to follow his orders. Ralph makes it clear they must
keep a fire burning in order to be rescued, yet the boys who are tasked with tending to it disobey their
command. As Ralph s power is pulled away from him, the majority of the boys turn to a leader who
they believe will protect them. During Ralph s flee from the savage camp, Sam and Eric warn Ralph
that they re going to hunt you down
to morrow (209). Ralph has been completely stripped of his position as chief, and has been painted as
the enemy in the other boys eyes. He was unable to maintain control over the position he was elected
into, causing disarray in the group s dynamic. Ralph is unable to use his power to benefit the
wellbeing of the island s society.
Another character who is incapable of using power positively is Jack. When the first assembly is being
called, Jack enters with the choir and shouts Choir! Stand still! (16). Even on the island, Jack
maintains his control over the choirboys and continues to give them orders despite their environment.
When the boys elect Ralph as chief, Jack is mortified. He believes he should be chief due to his head
boy status at school, and is taken back when the other boys don t vote for him. As the boys attitudes
begin to shift, Jack reaches for

Sepsis Syndrome Definition
Sepsis
The European Society of Intensive Care Medicine (ESICM) and its American counterpart (SCCM)
recently unveiled an updated definition of sepsis syndrome in adults (Sepsis 3) [1]. Previous
diagnostic criteria have been revalued and retrospectively validated in several large patient databases.
The consensus document, published in the journal JAMA, have been produced by a working group of
19 experts in critical care, infectious diseases, surgery and respiratory medicine.
Aged criteria with obvious flaws
The first North American, consensus based sepsis definition was published in 1992 [2]. The aim was
to bring the structure to an overgrown subject field. The concepts of severe sepsis and septic shock«
established. The definition began with a systemic inflammatory response syndrome (SIRS), where the
more advanced stages involved organ dysfunction / hypoperfusion / fluid refractory hypotension and

Probably , this can be largely explained by the absence of a rigorous definition. A patient due to mild
virosis have low grade fever and a slightly elevated heart rate but otherwise unaffected general
condition, can be categorized as septic ( overdiagnosis ) . When the immunkompetentes inflammatory
response may be considered physiologically adaptive and appropriate , the definition in this respect
limited validity . Likewise, the condition of a critically ill infected patient with multiple organ failure
and significant mortality risk escape classification as sepsis due to the absence of several SIRS criteria
( for diagnosis ) [ 4, 5 ] .
When dealing with patients, especially in intensive care , it is often difficult to determine the infection
s role in the onset of SIRS , which is common and likely often multifactorial (as a result of trauma,
surgery, burns , ischemia / reperfusion , pancreatitis and / or infection ) [6 , 7].

Essay on Merchant of Venice
Mercy v. Justice Old Testament v. New Testament
While the conflict between justice and mercy plays a key role in determining the outcome of The
Merchant of Venice, this conflict is even more important because it provides a setting for the contrast
between the rigid law and rules of the Old Testament and the concepts of mercy and forgiveness as
taught by Christ in the New Testament. It is in the climactic trial scene that The Duke, hoping Shylock
will excuse Antonio s penalty, asks him, How shall thou hope for mercy rend ring none? He is
referring to expectations of judgment in the afterlife. However, so is Shylock, when he counters, What
judgment shall I dread doing no wrong? This exchange perfectly presents this conflict between ...

Shylock, for his part, has indeed become fierce in his desire to extract vengeance by forcing the death
of Antonio.
The trial scene is constructed from a Christian perspective, and it highlights the dichotomy of Old
Testament legalism as opposed to the New Testament gospel of grace and forgiveness. The Duke,
Bassanio and finally Portia, all plead with Shylock to show mercy, but Shylock s hate has made him
immune to reason, as he is totally absorbed by a passion for revenge.
The Merchant of Venice draws upon laws and rules of Venice and those stipulated in contracts and
wills. Two things are emphasized when the trial begins. Firstly, it is clear that Shylock will not show
any mercy and relinquish his right to a pound of Antonio s flesh as stipulated in the bond, and
secondly, that Shylock has the rule of law on his side. Antonio himself says, The Duke cannot deny
the course of law: For the commoditie that strangers have / With us in Venice, if it be denied, Will
much impeach the justice of the State, Since that the trade and profit of the city / Consisteth of all
Nations. Shylock demands the strict interpretation of those laws, and seeks justice in its most severe
and uncompromised form. He demands Antonio s death for forfeiting his bond. quot; The pound of
flesh which I demand of him / Is dearly bought, tis mine and I will have it quot;.
In response to Shylock s Old Testament cry for bloody justice Portia answers with a speech that rivals

Examples Of Love In Conflict In A Midsummer Night s Dream
Love in Conflict An eye for an eye will only make the whole world blind. ― Mahatma Gandhi
Gandhi believes that love might cause blindness. Thus, love makes the person delusional like seeing
inverted colors, such as white as black and the black as white. Love is like putting the person under a
magical spell and they will not be able to differentiate between what is right and what is wrong. The
quote reflects exactly what happens in A Midsummer Night s Dream where Helena agrees with

As the events of the play take place, the types of love emerge between the lovers including the love
conflict. Shakespeare also does not fail to add the element of humor through the characters in the play
to contribute to its comic genre. The characters or mechanicals performed what Shakespeare called, a
play within a play, and it is also what makes Midsummer form the reflective image between reality
and imaginary. Finally, the world of fairies which plays an important role in contributing to all the
love dilemmas which led some characters to be in trouble. Dreams, magic and love are the three
elements which take a significant place in the play. Since in that period of time, dreams were
considered as prophecies, in the play the characters seem to be confused in differentiating between
dreams and reality, after waking up from the spell, the characters were in a daydream state of mind.
Magic is also the main Supernatural element in Shakespeare s plays and in A Midsummer Night s
Dream, magic is the element that brings the play upside down by forming a fantasy which makes the
plot a bit ironic and exciting at the same time. Furthermore, love is what the play is all about, where it
s starts with the dilemma of an arranged love by force, and ends with a marriage based on love which
is the symbol of happiness. Overall, Shakespeare s purpose on writing this play is to deliver a message
in declaring that love is not easy to attain. Therefore, it demands pain and battle in order to have

Walt Disney Company And Its International Theme Parks

Tokyo Disneyland (TDL) was the Walt Disney Company s first attempt at planning and developing an
international theme park. In the 1970 s after Walt Disney s death, the Walt Disney Company was not
doing well financially when the Oriental Land Company (OLC) approached the company about
opening a theme park in Tokyo. The Oriental Land Company, according to Raz (1999), author of
Riding the Black Ship: Japan and Tokyo Disneyland, is a partnership between two large firms in
Japan, the Mitsui Real Estate Development and Keisei Electric Railway (p.4). The Walt Disney
Company was hesitant to open a new theme park in its current financial state, but the OLC offered
them a deal that was hard to resist. The Oriental Land Company would own and operate the Tokyo
Disneyland while the Walt Disney Company would receive 10 percent of admissions fees and 5
percent of the revenues from food and souvenir sales (Raz, 1999, p. 27). The Walt Disney Company
also received licensing fees up to 20 million dollars for their characters, attractions, and more, as well
as control over the design of the park and control of park operations (Raz, 1999, p. 27; Eisner
Schwartz, 1998, p.263). Although the deal seemed alluring at the time, the Walt Disney Company
would soon come to regret the deal they made with the Oriental Land Company.

A Brief Look at Quantum Optics
Quantum optics tells us that left (l) and right (r) circularly polarized (CP) photon conveys integer spin
angular momentum, +ℏ and ℏ, respectively, although photon is massless elemental particle. The nature
of integer spin obeying Bose Einstein statics makes plural spins confine in an ultrasmall
temporalspace with the same quantum state, meanwhile, half integer spin like electron denies to share
the same quantum state in a molecular space, well known as Pauli exclusion principle. Intense CP
photon acts as an energy source that preferentially generate optically active substance from prochiral
substances and/or to preferentially decompose one enantiomer from racemic mixtures. On the other
hand, weak CP photon is used as a probe to detect substance chirality in the ground and photoexcited
states, known as circular dichroism (CD), optical rotation dispersion (ORD) and circularly polarized
luminescence (CPL) spectroscopy.1 Knowledge and understanding an efficient generation and
reversibility of optically active substances from achiral precursors in the absence of chiral chemical
influence has long been a challenging subject among chemists and scientists. This approach called
absolute asymmetric synthesis (AAS) is beneficial to avoid multiple step synthesis that often require
designed catalysts and specific chiral chemical sources with high ee.2 So far, several AASs have been
employed, including spontaneous symmetry breaking crystallization, vortex stirring,3f 3h

Islam decided to follow, and did in fact promote the teachings of Islam and sustained growth.
Qutb was one of the most significant figures in the development of jihadi Salafi ideology. Qutb in true
Salafi style, reanalysed the Qur an to find new ideology. Qutb acknowledge that the contemporary
jama at (movement) would also encounter periods of weakness. Therefore he insisted that here was an
immediate need for a new movement. Qutb also constantly stated that there was a need for new
leadership. He claimed that the new leaders should engage in jihad (struggle) against jahiliyya, so that
a true Islamic state can be established. His teachings of jihad and the need to use force if the survival
of the Islam was under threat, is being used today out of his context of time by extreme terrorist
groups. Members of these radical groups say are not afraid to die for their cause because Qutb gave

The Current Policy Rate Of The Central Bank Essay
On the other hand, the ZLB is a global phenomenon, The main policy rate of the central bank is
currently at zero (or close to zero) in 22 out of 34 OECD countries displays the worldwide struggle of
central banks since the global financial crisis (Wiederholt, 2015, 1). At the ZLB central banks must
look at unconventional policies, however Japan shows us it remains extremely difficult to stimulate
growth and inflation. In 1999 the BOJ introduce Zero Interest Rate policy (ZIRP) when it lowered in
the interest rate to virtually zero. The BOJ also incorporated future policy statements indicating the
rate would remain lower for longer this is to lower future expected interest rates and thereby boost
spending immediately and cause reflation (Williams, 2014, 6). However, expected inflation will only
increase if the bank credibly commits to its policy and it is merely not transitional. The BOJ stated
ZIRP would remain until until deflationary concerns disappeared which is too vague and does not give
private agents enough information, therefore casting doubt on competence of the BOJ (www.boj.or.jp,
1999). Setting an inflation target would help quantify the BOJ objectives. Krugman (1998) argued for
the BOJ to credibly promise to be irresponsible and not reverse ZIRP once inflation increases plus set
an inflation target higher than desirable. Bernanke (1999) agrees by setting an inflation target of 3 4%
would highlight the movement of BOJ away from a deflationary regime.

HEALTH EFFECTS OF HIGH INTENSITY INTERVAL TRAINING ON TYPE 2 DIABETES
Many people suffer from type 2 diabetes, a type of metabolic disease (Curry et al., 2015; Hawley
Gibala, 2012). The prevalence of this disease has been increasing; one reason for this increase could
be increased consumption of food as well as decreased prevalence of physical activity (Hawley
Gibala, 2012). Patients with type 2 diabetes are not able to metabolise glucose properly (Curry et al.,
2015). Type 2 diabetes can cause patients to be very thirsty, excessively weary, and to experience a
broad variety of other symptoms (Tovi Engfeldt, 1998). It is often treated with insulin in order to help
the body metabolise glucose (Tovi Engfeldt, 1998). However, taking insulin can result in weight gain
(Tovi Engfeldt, 1998). Fat of the abdomen can be an indicator of the likelihood of developing
cardiovascular disease in an individual with type 2 diabetes, which is heavily correlated with type 2
diabetes (Siren, Eriksson, Vanhanen, 2012). In terms of lifestyle choices, type 2 diabetes patients are
often told to focus on diet, but are also encouraged to increase frequency of physical activity (Alvarez
et al., 2016; Hawley Gibala, 2012). Physical activity has been shown to decrease the amount of deaths
resulting from diabetes related causes (Church et al., 2004). Increased physical activity has been
shown to help glucose metabolism in patients with type 2 diabetes (Curry et al., 2015). People who

What Is My Favourite Memory Essay
Whenever you come to visit me in this hospital whilst i lie in this isolated, vegetative state memories
of our times together come rushing back to me.
These memories that I reminisce about are now my life, the only thing I can really, truly connect to.
I recall my favourite days in winter when the light of the day had been replaced by the unrelenting
blackness of the night, and we would sit in the little café. Sitting there with mugs of coffee cupped
between our stone cold hands, the warmth of the fire against our backs slowly warming us up. The
sweet smell of the cinnamon buns that would diffuse around us which made it difficult to resist the
temptation of eating anymore, despite the guilt we should have probably felt about the huge amount
we had already consumed.
The Café that once was filled with our bursts of loud uncivilised laughter from which people could
have probably heard from outside in the pouring rain, was now from what I can imagine just a lifeless
café. There was nothing fancy about this café, no fancy furniture, no white etching upon the glass, the
feeling of just being there together and feeling as if we were away from the loud intimidating noises of
London s streets was what made this café so great.
I recall meeting in the little cafe that was not far from where we both lived every day after our long
days at work.
Whatever the circumstance both of us would be there, so we could reminisce for hours and hours
about our days of chaoticness and madness.
This was until ten years ago, the day when I didn t turn up to the café, the day my life ended
physically and yours mentally.
Now I lie here in this hospital bed, my thoughts disattached from what was my body.
I am locked inside this body which was once mine but now it is a stranger to me and I have no control
over what happens to it and when.
At first all I could feel was frustration. Frustration because I couldn t respond to you when you would
talk to me, your hand in what used to be my hand, your fingers entwined in fingers that are now
unknown to me for i now have no feeling in this body you call mine.
There s no word for how I feel. I am now frozen, unable to do anything but listen to the world go by,
trying to live everyones

Logistics Collaborations. Introduction. Collaborations
Logistics Collaborations
Introduction
Collaborations allow for businesses to focus on what they specialize in, while eliminating excess work
outside of the core function of their operation. Within the readings of Diagnosing Greatness, Pisano
Verganti dispute, the collaborative approach chosen must be right for the organization and its business
circumstances (Poirier, 2008, p. 99). The focus on a collaboration benefiting its business
circumstances, in addition to yielding benefits, while allowing for a competitive market place are key.
Despite the need for competition in a successful marketplace, collaborations yield unprecedented
benefits to business consumers.

A collaboration of this scale allows for the brand to share logistics of this machinery between the
brands, while still allowing for competition in sales of its distinctive vehicles.
Results
Dating back to 2013, the two automotive manufactures began discussing ideas of collaborating on an
automatic transmission (Rosevear, 2016). The two brands began the collaboration in 2016 (Rosevear,
2016) on this project, as it would save millions over the combined sales between the two companies,
rather than front the cost of developing individual parts. Most automotive brands source this part from
a German company ZF Friedrichshafen (Rosevear, 2016), to save cost on producing a complex piece
of mechanics for their automobiles. The logistics required to manufacture as well as supply this
complex part of an automobile pose a massive cost in the industry. Furthermore, automobiles
manufactured at multiple locations across the globe share this similar part, manufacturing it separately
at each location poses many additional unwanted supply chain processes. By consolidating
transmission production between Ford and General Motors, the logistics operation significantly
downsizes for the two brands.
Discussion
Two long standing rival companies understood the benefits of collaboration. As Intrieri discusses in an
article on The Effective use of

Gay Conversion Therapy Essay
Although various methods of Conversion Therapy have been around since sense the dawn of religion
itself, the early 1900 s peaked interest in the so called psychiatric problem that is homosexuality;
indeed, oftentimes considered The Father of Psychoanalysis, Sigmund Freud claimed that
homosexuality may be removed from the brain through hypnotism or therapeutic torture. Through his
widely respected claims, Freud, for a short era, influenced the decisions of many Evangelical
Christians with homosexual relatives. From the establishment of small psychology centers focused on
gay conversion to the opening of numerous straight camps for gay men and lesbians, the Freudian Era
of Gay Conversion and Gender Identity Therapies led to a breakthrough in medical research regarding
these ineffective treatments. All of this being true, and even with modern medicine being of
abundance in our society, certain Evangelical Christian groups still intend on practicing this form of
rehabilitation, but with our progressive American mindsets, these should not be bearing the heavy
burden of anti societal measures for much longer.

Survival Of The Holocaust
The holocaust was a time people were surrounded by humiliation, exploitation, hardships, loss and
death. It was barely possible for people to stay human during this time. The Holocaust was a severe
tragedy that happened in the early 1940s and will forever be remembered. There were many
people,The Bielski brothers in particular, who remarkably fought against the beliefs and doings of
Hitler and the Nazi party.
The Bielski brothers, Tuvis, Zus and Aasel lost their parents and siblings to the cruelty of the Nazis,
but they survived. Their group was made not only to resist Hitler and the nazis, but to save lives.
Together, they risked their lives everyday to help save and help those who suffered from the doings of
Hitler and the Nazis. They tried ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They carried out the largest armed rescue of Jews by their own people during the war. In their eyes,
they were seeking revenge, or payback, for the massacre of their family. The group had a location in
the forest where they took the people they rescued from the ghettos. Some decided not to go either
because they feared the hunger and the cold of the forests. They also did not believe that fighting the
Germans would change the course of history. The ones that had decided to escape had to slip through
fences, holes and tunnels and walk through the countryside to the forest camp. The nazis caused pain
to the jews, but the pain was forgotten when one man in particular saw two of the Bielski brothers and
a dozen other Jewish partisans. They were on tall horses and carrying machine guns, he says. It was an
amazing sight. The brothers had to constantly move camp to stay ahead of the germans. They ended
up in Naliboki forest, where they created a settlement with a bakery, infirmary, workshops for
carpenters, tailors and shoemakers and even a small theatre. The group had to work hard to stay alive,
but it was worth it to not be in control of the Germans who wanted nothing but to see them suffer.
In many ways, this was a learning experience for us. We learned that indifference is a terrible way to
treat people. We always say that it will never happen again, but still it happens. As young people, its
our duty to make sure it doesn t, but it still does. Why does it keep repeating? Its an ongoing event that
will never stop if we don t do something. We must learn from the past so we can prevent it from ever
happening again. But how can we do this? We can stop it by not being a bystander to indifference.
People suffer when we choose to do nothing. People die when we do

Cultural Landscape Of House Of Worship
The cultural landscape of a house of worship reflect the beliefs and practices of a particular religion.
Houses of worship have similarities and differences which are evident in the landscape that are
reflective of their similarities and differences in beliefs. I found that of all the houses of worship we
visited on our field trip, St. Michael s Antiochian Orthodox Church and St. Martin of Tours Catholic
Church seemed to be strikingly similar yet different.
St. Michael s Antiochian Orthodox Church is an eastern orthodox church. While at the church I
noticed several aspects of the landscape. When I walked in I could smell the burning of incense, a
smell symbolistic of the way they worship. When you walked in the first thing you saw were candles

The differences derive from theology. Both Roman Catholics and Eastern Orthodox Catholics
understand God to exist in three forms, known as the Trinity. God is the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
The Father refers to God s role as the creator of the world. The Son refers to Jesus. Finally, the Holy
Spirit, they believe, enters people s souls during their daily lives. Another similarity is that holding
reverence for the saints plays a central role in the spiritual lives of Roman Catholics and Eastern
Orthodox Catholics. The physical representation of the saints tends to take different forms, however.
Roman Catholics usually use statutes to represent their saints, as evident in St. Martin of Tours
Catholic Church; meanwhile, Orthodox Catholics more often use paintings to represent their saints, as
evident at St. Michael s Antiochian Orthodox Church. Another difference between the two is that for
Roman Catholics there is a procedure for choosing officially sanctioned saints. This process does not
exist in the Orthodox community. The central doctrinal divide between the two Christian churches
concerns the Pope and his supremacy. Roman Catholics believe the Pope is the living embodiment of
Jesus. He is then, in their opinion, the head of the entire Christian religion. Eastern Orthodox
Catholics view the Pope as the head of Christianity in Rome, a geographical

Evolutionary History of a Tiger
I. Introduction
Phylogeography is a field of study that implements biogeography and genetics to understand the
geographic distribution of a species. It is concerned with historical principles and processes that
influence evolution and speciation. The tiger is an evolutionary wonder; it is a prime example of the
responsiveness that some species have to changing climatic conditions. The tiger once had the largest
geographic distribution of all cat species; subspecies adaptations allowed them to live in a large range
of habitats throughout the Asian continent making it a perfect candidate for the study of
phylogeography. This review will examine the evolutionary history of the tiger and will explain how
the species was affected by climatic fluctuations and biogeographic processes during the Plestocene
epoch.
II. Distribution
a. Current Distribution
Today, contiguous distributions can be found throughout southern Asia, far east Russia, and the Sunda
islands of Sumatra, and Java (figure 1). It is widely agreed that the evolutionary history and
distribution of tigers and other fauna endemic to Asia is largely dominated by glacial cycles during the
late Pleistocene epoch. An examination of environmental conditions during the late Pleistocene would
assist in explaining the current distribution and the central point of origin of the species

Coldplay has been around since 1996 and been amongst the most successful British rock bands. Chris
Martin, the lead singer and Jonny Buckland, the lead guitarist founded this band at the University

the band was known as the Pectoralz , and was renamed Starfish. Soon after, their drummer Will
Champion got onboard the band and the band was once again renamed. This time, they stuck to being
known as Coldplay. Popularity in US Their popularity grew in London with the release of three epic

married to his childhood sweetheart Joanna. They have a daughter, Nico and had separated in 2007.
However, the two still meet frequently for their child s wellbeing. Will Champion was the fourth

  • 2. American Art Observation For this observation, I went to the American Art section on the first floor of the Philadelphia Museum of Art. When you first walk into the exhibition you see a bunch of glass showcases and to the right was a whole hallway and section designated to Thomas Eakins. The Thomas Eakins section is rather large so I ventured there first. All of his pieces are so well done and lifelike. Although, there was so much to pick from, I found a small brown set of five figures in a glass case the most interesting. Each one is only the size of my hand. They are intriguing because not only are they in a well lit big glass box in a darker hallway, but they are on a smaller scale than most of the other works of art around it. The big lit glass box is split ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Eakins was born in Philadelphia in 1844. He studied at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts in 1862 complimenting his artist career. A year later although, he decided to study anatomy at the Jefferson Medical College (Krieg 191). This new found muse for anatomy sparked his realist artwork. Eakins art historical significance is rooted in his identity as a studious realist whose painting draws its force from extensive scientific research into anatomy, perspective, reflection and motion (Leja 479). Pieces such as his anatomical bronze casts of the human foot and knee showed his appreciation for capturing the little details and scale of the human body. The particular painting William Rush Carving His Allegorical Figure of Schuylkill River was a step by step process. Eakins wanted this painting to be as real as it could be, so he used different methods to capture details. For his first method, he sculpted small figurines so he had a three dimensional object to be able to observe the subjects in different points of view and to test light and shadow ( Philadelphia Museum of Art: Handbook of the Collections ). Since this was just a mere step, he didn t spend too much time on it. He used scraps and materials commonly found in his studio. The three figurines of The Schuylkill Freed, George Washington, and the Water Nymph and Bittern were models of statues William Rush sculpted, that Eakins wanted to include in his painting. • 3. Symbolism In The Virgin Of Mamaz In present day America, the Virgin of Guadalupe is held in high regard for her strength, love, and hope that she emanates to Mexican Americans. One can say that she is the symbol and role model of Mexico, or even a part of the private flag of Mexicans.1 However, the symbolism behind the Virgin of Guadalupe is ambiguous; it holds both positive and negative meanings.2 The Virgin could also be seen as an image of oppression towards Indians and women during the era of colonization in the New World. To combat those views, Jeanette Rodriguez considers the Virgin as a beacon of hope for those who were marginalized. Richard Rodriguez also argued that the Virgin created a new and lasting identity for Mexican Americans despite the fact that the Spanish converted them into Catholics. That new identity is explained in Ada Maria Isasi Diaz s essay, and highlights the significance of having solidarity within the Latino community and identifying and fighting against the root causes of oppression. Although the Virgin historically carried negative views of oppression among Latinos, she can also be a symbol of maternal love, strength, and hope to fight against oppression that was and is present in American society. Jeanette Rodriguez believes that the people today are not conquered by Spanish religion; rather, they are taking parts of it to make it into their own religion and create a new identity among the Mexican American community. While several churches today still reject the Virgin in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Symptoms And Treatment Of Asthma Background Asthma is a perpetual, or long lasting, illness that could potentially be life threating. In the United States of America, about 25 million people are known to have asthma[nhlbi]. About 7 million of the 25 million diagnosed with asthma are children[nhlbi]. Asthma can be described as the inflammation, obstruction and hyperresposiveness of the airway. Asthma might be classified as acute, sub acute or chronic inflammation of the airway. In asthma, there is a spastic contraction of the smooth muscle in the bronchioles[gyton]. The presence of this airway obstruction causes edema and mucus secretion. When there is an increased sensitivity to irritating stimuli, bronchoconstriction occurs leading to hyperplasia of smooth muscle, hyper secretion and dis modeling of the epithelium. Anatomy of the Lung The lung is located in the chest as part of the respiratory system. The respiratory systems consists of the trachea, bronchi, lung, mediastinum, pleura and diaphragm. The left lung has two lobes, upper and lower with a cardiac notch(where the heart is sits). The right lung on the other hand has three lopes, upper, middle and lower lobes. The lungs is covered by the chest wall which is made up of muscles and ribs. The mediastinum is the separation between the lungs and the other organs. The diaphragm is the located below the lungs. • 5. Connotation For Independence Once upon a time Cuba was a state ruled by the American law. Then a man came, namely Fidel Castro, and fought for an independent state of Cuba. After the death of thousands and intensive diplomatic negotiations Cuba became an independent nation. Just like Castro s independence many people strived to become independent throughout the history in different ways. Independence is a state of being where one is free from the rule of authority. • 6. F. 30 Insomnia Case Study Student Mr. M, a 54 year old man is taken to a sleep disorder facility for examination of daytime somnolence and insomnia. He has been battling with anxiety and depression, a disorder he is being treated with. He reports that he has been suffering from Insomnia for several years and only turned worse about 7 years ago. He is troubled with sleep initiation, which usually takes him over one hour to fall asleep. As soon as he is asleep, he wakes up several times, which makes him to struggle again to go back to sleep. He turns in bed without sleep until dawn when he gets up feeling fatigued and drained. The major diagnosis is DSM 5 insomnia disorder. Given the comorbid indications of obstructive sleep apnea and depression, it would perhaps be hard to assess whether Mr. M has DSM IV primary insomnia since DSM 5 enables the clinician to generate an unpremeditated attribution between obstructive sleep disorder and insomnia. • 8. Adopting New Technologies in Nursing Adopting New Technologies into Nursing Lisa M. Ehret Walden University Transforming Nursing and Healthcare through Information Technology NURS 6051N 20 July 10, 2015 Adopting New Technologies into Nursing The healthcare system is a continuously evolving spectrum. Nurses must take great strides in learning and adapting to new technologies to meet the standards of the health care system. One significant change that has occurred throughout the last few years is the transition from paper charting to utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems. This technological change is a major development that has the potential to significantly impact the nursing role and overall ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... 15). Thus, if possible, emphasizing the simple aspects of the chosen EHR while avoiding excessive complexity during design will be an important aspect to avoid obstacles in the adoption of the new practice. As the nurse facilitator, realization that the older generation may be confronted with difficulty regarding technological innovation is crucial. Providing constructive, and tolerant instruction will help with successful adaption of the new EHR for these individuals. Adequate training and instruction, while ensuring user friendly technology was the base of the design for the new EHR will help ensure simplicity and encourage positive outlook from staff and increase rates of adaptation. Thus, emphasizing simplicity of use while avoiding complexity will give health care workers a positive stance on their capabilities regarding the utilization of a new EHR. Trialability The fourth aspect of successful implementation is trialability. As described by Rogers (2003), Trialability is the degree to which an innovation may be experimented with on a limited basis . An easy way to interpret this aspect is that the more practice, the easier a concept becomes or practice makes perfect . As the nurse facilitator, one must recognize and understand that adequate training and available resources are the basis for trialability and success. Thus, the more the nurses who utilize the new EHR, the faster a successful adaptation occurs. It is during this part of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Eliot, perhaps one of the most controversial poets of modern times, wrote what many critics consider the most controversial poem of all, The Waste Land. The Waste Land was written using a fragmented style. This is a style that is evident in all of Eliot s writings. There are several reasons for his using this approach, from a feeling of being isolated, to a problem articulating thoughts (Bergonzi 18, Cuddy 13, Mack 1745, Martin 102). What influenced Eliot the most in writing poetry was a book he read written by the English critic, Arthur Symon, titled The Symbolist Movement in Literature. This book is about French symbolist ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When Eliot began to compose The Waste Land, he used all the different themes, techniques, and style s he had been developing to this point. The Waste Land is developed entirely using fragments and quotations. This is symbolic of his despair in succeeding in ever fully articulating meaning. Although it is fragmented, it also reveals moments of continuity and wholeness quantified with recurrent themes of time, alienation, isolation, and articulation. Because Eliot used fragmentation as his style when writing this poem, it survived being cut in half by the editing of Ezra Pound. Many author s argue that Ezra Pound could have edited many

Eliot s use of estrangement in poems is his way of expressing feelings between himself and the world. His inability to give himself to, or to possess others is an example of the greater problem of isolation. The isolation theme is prevalent throughout the Waste Land, with many of his characters entwined. This is probably related to his problem of articulating. Whatever his reason for using isolation it caused him to turn towards god for answers. In 1927 he was accepted as a member of the Church of England. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Second Party System emerged after the Democratic and Whig parties came to power in America. The development of this party system was prompted by the clashing philosophies about individual rights, government control, and land acquisition. Despite both parties being equally prevalent in America, the Democratic Party flourished and was drastically much more successful than the Whig Party at impacting the nation. The Whigs coined their name from the 18th century word used to describe American and British opponents of tyranny. They called themselves this because they believed that Jackson abused his presidential veto and turned into a tyrant. The majority of the Whig party consisted of highly skilled workers, successful business owners, and manufacturers that lived in New England and the Upper Midwest. The Whig Party favored government support in economic and social affairs. The Whigs believed that government influence promoted the growth and success of the economy. For this reason, the Whigs favored the spread of banks, passing of tariffs, and new transportation projects. The Whigs also believed that they could promote social progress by allowing the government to have control of society through regulations and reforms such as the prohibition of alcohol and the prohibition of business activities on Sundays. The Whigs also aimed to make society better through the building of hospitals, insane asylums, and public schools. Whig philosophies revolved around strengthening the economy and creating a progressive society. Despite having a strong presence in America, the Whig Party s influence on the government and economy never surpassed the impact of the Democratic Party. Rome also stood for something that citizens of today look at as grotesque and savage. The fact that citizens would come together and cheer for another man while he plunged his sword through his chest, with no understanding of life or family. The building that represented this evil act is the Roman Coliseum. Although inside the coliseum death was glorified and wished for the idea and meaning demonstrated politics and power. Rome was powerful in all meaning of the power. Power is defined as the capability or the ability to direct or influence the behaviors of others or the course of events. (sited by Dictornary.com). We flew past the 6 billion mark in number. This is an impressive figure, but not one that we can easily appreciate, unless we are Bill Gates or ExxonMobil. Let s try to understand how incredibly large this number is. Consider that this article has ~9000 letters. They had met in Philadelphia to adopt this first official constitution in September of 1777, however, it was not ratified until March of 1781. There were two main purposes of the Articles of Confederation. The first one had been to create unity amongst the colonies, while the second purpose was to prove to the French, along with other foreign countries, that America had a structured government. Essay about A Brief History of the Hybrid Vehicle Brief History of Hybrid Vehicle Development First built in the early 1900s by inventors tinkering with combinations of the electric motor and the gasoline engine, hybrid vehicles were dropped when gasoline fueled vehicles became more reliable and easier to start, and gasoline fuel more readily available. Research and development of hybrid vehicles was revived by concern about oil dependency in the1970s and about air pollution in the late 1980s. A number of hybrid vehicles have been built and tested since 1980. Some of these vehicles have impressed analysts with their performance and low levels of exhaust and petroleum consumption. It usually gives the car a range of 50 100 miles which is much less than that typically provided by a fuel tank (300 miles). The electric motor is the device that provides motion in an electric car. It converts the energy it receives from the batteries into motion which is used to turn a transmission which then in turn rotates the wheels. It is able to spin up to 15000 RPM and has up to 100 kW of power. Since this motion is connected to the transmission, the transmission also spins the wheel up to this rate. Thus, electric cars would tend to move faster than gasoline powered cars. Components Common To Both The Electric Car And The Gasoline Powered Car The transmission is the device that does the actual turning of the wheel in both cars. There are several ways of combining the two sources of power found in a hybrid car. The Parallel Hybrid Car: This has a fuel tank which supplies gasoline to the engine. In addition, it has a set of batteries that supplies power to an electric motor. Both the engine and the engine motor can turn the transmission at the same time and the transmission then turns the wheels. Figure 3 shows a typical parallel hybrid. Wicca and witchcraft are commonly amalgamated in Western popular culture and there are indeed some similarities between them in part because of their common origin in Paganism. However, I will argue that there are four major differences between Wicca and witchcraft concerning: their conceptions of the deities, their organizations, their ceremonies and practices, and their views on reincarnation. On a terminological note: by Paganism I mean spiritual paths characterized by nature worship and polytheism or pantheism (Yardley 329), which Wiccans and witches fall under; by Wicca I mean a form of worship, a spiritual system and also a system for developing and using psychic and magical power (Crowley 11); and by witchcraft, I mean focusing on the practice of magic and healing (Yardley 329). ... • 20. Dealing In The Poem By W. H. Auden The Poem was written by W.H Auden and was written in 1936. The title in itself has many connotations of sadness. The word Funeral is associated with someone dying. The word blues on the other hand is a type of Jazz that often conveys sadness. By combining the two, we can see that the author has cleverly manipulated the title into conveying sadness. The poem opens energetically, with an intensely emphasized verb Stop, a start that also suggests an ending. Certainly, much of the rest of the poem is similarly constructed on heavily accentuated verbs of command. The attitude of the poem is highly imperative. The poet gives out orders, but the instructions he issues suggest that he cannot believe that the death of the certain person has happened. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the fourth stanza the poet s agony rings out even more passionately. Here he stresses that Nature notice his grief, calling it to extinguish the stars and the moon and the sun and get rid of the ocean. He desires the world to reflect the emptiness within him left by death. Human monuments to the dead will not be adequate at best. Jack works to gain power and the role of chief. Piggy, as opposed to Jack and Ralph, works to achieve respect. In the novel Lord of the Flies, William Golding effectively conveys the idea that the responsibility of leadership can weigh heavily upon those unfit for power, resulting in fractures throughout society. The effect of authority is reflected in the character of Ralph, through his struggle to maintain his power. After the hunters brag about killing their first pig, Ralph declares there was a ship. Out there. You said you d keep the fire going and you let it out! (74). The authority he wields over the boys is beginning to diminish through the boy s refusal to follow his orders. As Ralph s power is pulled away from him, the majority of the boys turn to a leader who they believe will protect them. During Ralph s flee from the savage camp, Sam and Eric warn Ralph that they re going to hunt you down to morrow (209). Ralph has been completely stripped of his position as chief, and has been painted as the enemy in the other boys eyes. He was unable to maintain control over the position he was elected into, causing disarray in the group s dynamic. Ralph is unable to use his power to benefit the wellbeing of the island s society. Another character who is incapable of using power positively is Jack. When the first assembly is being called, Jack enters with the choir and shouts Choir! Stand still! (16). Even on the island, Jack maintains his control over the choirboys and continues to give them orders despite their environment. When the boys elect Ralph as chief, Jack is mortified. A Brief Look at Quantum Optics Quantum optics tells us that left (l) and right (r) circularly polarized (CP) photon conveys integer spin angular momentum, +ℏ and ℏ, respectively, although photon is massless elemental particle. The nature of integer spin obeying Bose Einstein statics makes plural spins confine in an ultrasmall temporalspace with the same quantum state, meanwhile, half integer spin like electron denies to share the same quantum state in a molecular space, well known as Pauli exclusion principle. Intense CP photon acts as an energy source that preferentially generate optically active substance from prochiral substances and/or to preferentially decompose one enantiomer from racemic mixtures. On the other hand, weak CP photon is used as a probe to detect substance chirality in the ground and photoexcited states, known as circular dichroism (CD), optical rotation dispersion (ORD) and circularly polarized luminescence (CPL) spectroscopy.1 Knowledge and understanding an efficient generation and reversibility of optically active substances from achiral precursors in the absence of chiral chemical influence has long been a challenging subject among chemists and scientists. Qutb acknowledge that the contemporary jama at (movement) would also encounter periods of weakness. Therefore he insisted that here was an immediate need for a new movement. Qutb also constantly stated that there was a need for new leadership. He claimed that the new leaders should engage in jihad (struggle) against jahiliyya, so that a true Islamic state can be established. His teachings of jihad and the need to use force if the survival of the Islam was under threat, is being used today out of his context of time by extreme terrorist groups. • 37. The Current Policy Rate Of The Central Bank Essay On the other hand, the ZLB is a global phenomenon, The main policy rate of the central bank is currently at zero (or close to zero) in 22 out of 34 OECD countries displays the worldwide struggle of central banks since the global financial crisis (Wiederholt, 2015, 1). At the ZLB central banks must look at unconventional policies, however Japan shows us it remains extremely difficult to stimulate growth and inflation. In 1999 the BOJ introduce Zero Interest Rate policy (ZIRP) when it lowered in the interest rate to virtually zero. The BOJ also incorporated future policy statements indicating the rate would remain lower for longer this is to lower future expected interest rates and thereby boost spending immediately and cause reflation (Williams, 2014, 6). However, expected inflation will only increase if the bank credibly commits to its policy and it is merely not transitional. The BOJ stated ZIRP would remain until until deflationary concerns disappeared which is too vague and does not give private agents enough information, therefore casting doubt on competence of the BOJ (www.boj.or.jp, 1999). Setting an inflation target would help quantify the BOJ objectives. Krugman (1998) argued for the BOJ to credibly promise to be irresponsible and not reverse ZIRP once inflation increases plus set an inflation target higher than desirable. Bernanke (1999) agrees by setting an inflation target of 3 4% would highlight the movement of BOJ away from a deflationary regime. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

HEALTH EFFECTS OF HIGH INTENSITY INTERVAL TRAINING ON TYPE 2 DIABETES Many people suffer from type 2 diabetes, a type of metabolic disease (Curry et al., 2015; Hawley Gibala, 2012). The prevalence of this disease has been increasing; one reason for this increase could be increased consumption of food as well as decreased prevalence of physical activity (Hawley Gibala, 2012). Patients with type 2 diabetes are not able to metabolise glucose properly (Curry et al., 2015). Type 2 diabetes can cause patients to be very thirsty, excessively weary, and to experience a broad variety of other symptoms (Tovi Engfeldt, 1998). It is often treated with insulin in order to help the body metabolise glucose (Tovi Engfeldt, 1998). However, taking insulin can result in weight gain (Tovi Engfeldt, 1998). Fat of the abdomen can be an indicator of the likelihood of developing cardiovascular disease in an individual with type 2 diabetes, which is heavily correlated with type 2 diabetes (Siren, Eriksson, Vanhanen, 2012). In terms of lifestyle choices, type 2 diabetes patients are often told to focus on diet, but are also encouraged to increase frequency of physical activity (Alvarez et al., 2016; Hawley Gibala, 2012). These memories that I reminisce about are now my life, the only thing I can really, truly connect to. I recall my favourite days in winter when the light of the day had been replaced by the unrelenting blackness of the night, and we would sit in the little café. Sitting there with mugs of coffee cupped between our stone cold hands, the warmth of the fire against our backs slowly warming us up. The sweet smell of the cinnamon buns that would diffuse around us which made it difficult to resist the temptation of eating anymore, despite the guilt we should have probably felt about the huge amount we had already consumed. The Café that once was filled with our bursts of loud uncivilised laughter from which people could have probably heard from outside in the pouring rain, was now from what I can imagine just a lifeless café. There was nothing fancy about this café, no fancy furniture, no white etching upon the glass, the feeling of just being there together and feeling as if we were away from the loud intimidating noises of London s streets was what made this café so great. I recall meeting in the little cafe that was not far from where we both lived every day after our long days at work. Whatever the circumstance both of us would be there, so we could reminisce for hours and hours about our days of chaoticness and madness. This was until ten years ago, the day when I didn t turn up to the café, the day my life ended physically and yours mentally. Now I lie here in this hospital bed, my thoughts disattached from what was my body. I am locked inside this body which was once mine but now it is a stranger to me and I have no control over what happens to it and when. At first all I could feel was frustration. The two brands began the collaboration in 2016 (Rosevear, 2016) on this project, as it would save millions over the combined sales between the two companies, rather than front the cost of developing individual parts. Most automotive brands source this part from a German company ZF Friedrichshafen (Rosevear, 2016), to save cost on producing a complex piece of mechanics for their automobiles. The logistics required to manufacture as well as supply this complex part of an automobile pose a massive cost in the industry. Furthermore, automobiles manufactured at multiple locations across the globe share this similar part, manufacturing it separately at each location poses many additional unwanted supply chain processes. God is the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The Father refers to God s role as the creator of the world. The Son refers to Jesus. Finally, the Holy Spirit, they believe, enters people s souls during their daily lives. Another similarity is that holding reverence for the saints plays a central role in the spiritual lives of Roman Catholics and Eastern Orthodox Catholics. The physical representation of the saints tends to take different forms, however. Roman Catholics usually use statutes to represent their saints, as evident in St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church; meanwhile, Orthodox Catholics more often use paintings to represent their saints, as evident at St. Michael s Antiochian Orthodox Church. Another difference between the two is that for Roman Catholics there is a procedure for choosing officially sanctioned saints. This process does not exist in the Orthodox community. The central doctrinal divide between the two Christian churches concerns the Pope and his supremacy. Roman Catholics believe the Pope is the living embodiment of Jesus. It is concerned with historical principles and processes that influence evolution and speciation. The tiger is an evolutionary wonder; it is a prime example of the responsiveness that some species have to changing climatic conditions. The tiger once had the largest geographic distribution of all cat species; subspecies adaptations allowed them to live in a large range of habitats throughout the Asian continent making it a perfect candidate for the study of phylogeography. This review will examine the evolutionary history of the tiger and will explain how the species was affected by climatic fluctuations and biogeographic processes during the Plestocene epoch. II. Distribution a. Current Distribution Today, contiguous distributions can be found throughout southern Asia, far east Russia, and the Sunda islands of Sumatra, and Java (figure 1).
