How I Build A Personal Computer
How to Build a Personal Computer
Building your own PC (personal computer) is a both informative and cost effective method when you
are in need of a computer. The process of selecting compatible parts is the most difficult part of
building your own computer, but luckily assembling everything is a very easy process that will be
outlined in the following pages.
Step 1: Preparing your workspace
The first step in the process of assembling your brand new PC is to select the best workplace available
to protect your shiny new parts. Static electricity is the biggest worry to have while constructing a
brand new computer and there are precautions to take whether you are on a solid smooth surface, or
more importantly, on carpet. First and foremost, the most important item to have on hand is an anti
static wrist strap. The use of a wrist strap will help prevent ESD (electrostatic discharge) that could
possibly damage the components during assembly. Another important aspect is to keep the area free of
clutter and have a flat open space that will allow for easy movement around the computer case. Take
care when moving and unwrapping the parts to avoid possibly damaging any pins or chipping the
fragile edges of things such as the motherboard, memory, and video card. Once everything has been
removed from its protective wrapping, you can begin piecing everything together.
Step 2: Installing the motherboard
The second step in building your computer will be to install the motherboard with

The Code Of Ethics And Systematic Ethics
Abstract. The article reviewed was The Impact of Ethical Tools on Aggressiveness in Financial
Reporting. The key of the abstract is to demonstrate the differences in financial reporting between the
International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and U.S. Standards (p.477). More in depth the
research focuses on the code of ethics and moral duties of company top management.
Introduction. The authors study the financial scandals and the recent financial crisis to demonstrate the
gap between market processes and accounting standards. The IFRS and U.S. GAAP differ in contrary
nature of accounting standards. GAAP is considered as rule based standards, while IFRS viewed as a
principle based. Therefore, the professional judgment on financial improprieties is highly important
(p. 479). The main objective of the research is to specify the impact of ethical setting on judgment and
decisions of accountants. The code of ethics and systematic ethics trainings can diminish the
inconsistencies from accounting policies. The study is important due its analysis of mechanisms and
alternatives of decision making, and the influence of code of ethics on chief officers strategic choices
(pp. 484 485). The authors focuses on the problem: how accounting standards contribute to the
professional judgment, company financial performance, and earning management. The authors discuss
issues that arise because of the unethical financial reporting.

Social Classes In Elizabethan England
Ever wondered what was the differences from the classes and how in affected families in the
Elizabethan era/Tudor Era? In the Tudor Era, the complex organization of the families, along with the
social classes played an important role in society. There are six social classes in this particular era. The
Monarch, Nobility, Gentry, Merchant, Yeomanry, and the Laborers. Every class had its own problems
but they each had something that made being the class okay living within starting with Monarch.
The Monarch was the highest in the hierarchy of the Elizabethan era, it was led by Queen Elizabeth I.

Queen Elizabeth I was the best queen England has had; she was part of the reason for literature and
English poetry during that time period. She made sure that each class was doing good and fixed

particular class. The Elizabethan era was the Golden Age.
Each of the social classes had hardships in them that they had to deal with. But each had goods things
going on within the social class too. For example, the yeomen are wealthy but they are not classified
as a higher hierarchy because of the way they spend their money. Also as for the nobility they were
wealthy but because they had to have many lavish things it put them in debt. But, they made both
made it work because of Queen Elizabeth I help.

Analysis Of On The Waterfront
On the Waterfront was photographed in such a captivating way. Boris Kaufman had a vision ahead of
his time. Many scenes in the movie are understood, not just through the script, but from the
cinematography as well. Three scenes in particular catch my eye. It is the artistic style and flare of
conveying the same idea in multiple mediums. The first scene is when Terry and Edie are on the
rooftop at Joey s pigeon coup. This scene portrays the moment in which I believe was the catalyst for
Terry that lead him to be truthful to Evie and stand up to Friendly. The second scene that I will speak
about is when Kayo Dugan is killed. When the preacher is giving his speech to all the longshoremen.
That speech was a testament of one man speaking out for what he knew was right. The third scene that
I will choose for this essay is where Terry walks to Friendly s dock office. After the fight, Terry s
march to work puts you on the edge of your seat. Each scene has depth that few movies achieve. The
first scene is the rooftop scene with Terry and Evie. The whole scene is shot with natural light.
Kaufman begins the scene with a long shot of the rooftop. Terry is waving a long stick with a rag at
the top of it to call back the pigeons to the coup. I believe Terry waving the white flag was an implied
surrender to Evie s love and the truth of what really happened to Joey. Even though, Terry is still
conflicted afterwards, this is his first step toward standing up to the Friendly and his

The Sannyasin
The Song of the Sannyasin by Swami Vivekananda is a great poem that explores some of the
fundamental principals of Hindu philosophy. Some things that the poem addresses are karma, dharma,
Maya, samsara, moksha, and more. Not only does it address and explore Hindu philosophy, it also
specifically addresses Sannyasin and their calling. Even though this poem directly addresses
Sannyasin, it can be used as insight and inspiration for all who read it. The following is a stanza by
stanza analysis of the poem, The Song of the Sannyasin This first stanza is stating that in order to
discover who one truly is, they must wake up meaning that they must realize that they are part of the
eternal soul. Like the example in class, we are all like ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Karma, being basically you reap what you sew, or what goes around comes around. On the other hand,
Dharma is the duty one has for their caste. These two things are key principals of Hindu philosophy.
The poem explains how no one can escape karma, and that it is built into the universe, and how one
must always follow their Dharma. But even with these things being the case, far beyond Karma and
Dharma is Atman, our eternal soul, and that is the most important thing to remember. The fifth stanza
addresses the fact that we are not out bodies, and that most people do not realize this because they are
so strung up in Maya. This stanza is saying that we are not what we do, whether it be mothering, or
working at a job. These things to not make us who we are. Our body does not make us who we are,
who we really are is an eternal soul, Atman. But not only that, we are all part of one universal, eternal
soul, Brahman. The sixth stanza is about how even if someone knows that they are part of the eternal
soul, they may still cling onto Maya. This is because Maya keeps people from truly seeing their one
true self fully, it is an illusion. We may think Maya is the true reality, but it is not. Our true self sees
the nature of our reality as it really is. It is an unrestricted view of the true reality opposed to Maya.
This stanza is telling the Sannyasin to remember who they really are, an eternal

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Written Contracts
The law recognizes that legally binding contracts can be written, verbal, or a mixture of both.
However, for business purposes, written contracts are usually preferred due to the following reasons:
The contents ( terms ) are in writing for all to see They can ensure that precise language is used in
describing the terms of the agreement There is, therefore, less opportunity for misunderstandings and
conflicting assumptions There is less need to rely on memories of what was originally agreed The
individuals involved in the transaction may change over time. Written contracts If the contract has
been formally written and signed by the parties, there is an assumption that all the terms of the
agreement are contained in the written document ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Cause And Effects Of Stress
Causes and Effects of Stress
According to HeartMath LLC, Stress is the basic cause of 60% of all human illness and disease .
Stress is a huge problem in the world today and effects many people. Everyone has different stress
triggers. For example, work, school, and children are all parts of life that many people struggle with
and cause them to go into overload. Stress take a toll on many people s bodies and can cause serious
problems like high blood pressure, obesity, diabetes, and heart disease. In opposition to the people
who think that stress is a negative, some people say that it is a positive. They claim that it motivates
them, boosts their adrenaline, and makes them smarter.

workers compensation, medical insurance and other stress related expenses. If stress causes a
company money why are they continuing to overload employees with work. If they were looking at
the best interest of their company and their employees they would consider there life outside of work
and cut them some slack. Another effect in the workplace includes sleep deprivation from staying up
those long nights getting work done. Everyone needs sleep and if one does not get enough it can affect
how much they get done and the quality of their work.
In addition to stress in the workplace, finances is a huge stress factor for adults. This is not just a small
problem it affects many adults: 72 percent of adults admitted worrying about finances, and 22 percent
called this stress extreme (Addie, Kane). This is an ongoing issue in the world and something that
most if not all deal with in their lifetime. Keeping up with the bills and paying for everyday expenses
is very hard for some people to keep up with, especially those of which who have a lower income.
Adults in a lower income household are more likely to stress about money and making ends meet.
Along with income and finances, job loss and unemployment are other sources of income for adults.
When someone loses a job they no longer have a source of income to pay for any expenses. They now

Charlie Davis Character Comparison
Character Comparison Essay
In the book Girl In Pieces by Kathleen Glasgow, the main character Charlie Davis and a later
mentioned character, Riley West, has many similarities because the both have gone through traumatic
experiences and has lost or has been left abandoned by the people they love. Although they both have
similarities, both characters have differences between them because Riley s way of coping through
stress of abandonment and loss is substance abuse of drugs and alcohol and Charlie s way of dealing
with it is self harm, and even after that, both characters has made it out of a distressing and destructive
life. Kathleen Glasgow purpose of writing this book is reflected off of Charlie Davis and Riley West s

depression, in Arizona, due to the traumatic experiences she s encountered. Charlie Davis is a
character of few words because of her long episodes of disassociation with the world around her.
Because Charlie suffers from selective mutism and has a shy personality, which makes her feel
different from others around her, there are parts of the novel in which the Charlie Davis is left silently
perceiving and even actively disconnected from the world around her. I can tell that she feels
disconnected and silently observes because she says, I cut all my words out. My heart was too full of
them (Page 4). Because of her feeling of separation from others, especially those who has their life all
figured out, she starts feeling detached, memories from her disturbing experiences begin to appear,
and she remembers all those who has abandoned her, she does self harm, once again. However later

Cross culturally fertility and childbearing are a major...
Cross culturally fertility and childbearing are a major concern due to the significance of passing on
heritage, family names, and values to the next generation. Additionally, in many cultures the children
are responsible for the care of their parents when they become elderly. Infertility is a universal concern
in both Western and developing countries. It is estimated that up to 168 million people across the
globe are affected with infertility. The bulk of these cases reside within developing countries (Vayena
Rowe, 2002). When couples are having trouble conceiving a child it is a source of distress for both
partners (Helman, 2007, p. 176). This distress can be manifested in a variety of ways that adversely
affect the family structure. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Additionally, Whitehouse and Hollos (2014) identify different classifications of mother s, which are
culturally defined as infertile. There is the childless woman who fits the traditional definition of
infertile by never having been pregnant or birthed a live child. The childless mother is a woman who
has birthed a child but that child then died. The subfertile woman is a woman who has not birthed
enough children or they have not had enough children of one gender (i.e. sons). While the subfertile
women are able to participate in the women s meetings they are still lower in the hierarchy of mothers.
Though they do not meet the biomedical qualifications for infertile, the subfertile women can still face
similar socioeconomic difficulties of the women who do (Whitehouse Hollos, 2014). In order to
understand the infertility cross culturally, it is imperative that we know how each culture perceives
and deals with the problem.
Western ideas about infertility can vary a great deal from other cultures. There is a growing culture in
western nations of childlessness being a choice (Balen Inhorn, 2002). This can help eliminate the
social stigma of not having children because it is difficult to determine from the outside if this is a
voluntary choice. Though, westerners can be affected just as much by infertility, the increasingly
medicalized view of infertility allow for reproductive technologies to be better accepted (Balen

Internal Revenue Service Pros And Cons
The Internal Revenue Service, more commonly known as the IRS and most commonly known as the
least favored federal agency, was first established during the years of the Civil War to collect taxes
levied to support the war effort in the North. During this time, the revenue bureau was meant to be
temporary and the tax expired in 1872. However, the Commissioner of Internal Revenue and its
successor continued past the expiration date and stayed in effect up to present day in America. The
national income tax in place today was not always a part of the American taxing system, with the
exception of 1894. Congress passed a national income tax, but it was ruled unconstitutional in 1895 by

The audit has been dragged out for over nearly a decade regarding Microsoft s overseas subsidiaries,
and an investigation was being conducted in regards to whether the Redmond company improperly
moved software code worth billions of dollars offshore in a way that illegally evaded its U.S. tax bill.
Under current law, corporate profits earned overseas and left overseas are not subject to taxation in
America. The IRS spent years requesting documents and interviews with Microsoft employees
regarding the investigation. In December of 2014, the IRS sued Microsoft in order to force them to
turnover documents and information that the IRS claimed the company failed to provide in the
investigation. Microsoft s position in regards to the IRS is that they abused their federal power when
they hired an outside law firm to aide them in auditing Microsoft. In 2014, the IRS decided to hire an
outside law firm to discuss the case against Microsoft. The problem was that the law firm, Quinn
Emanuel, had little experience handling taxpayer data, and in order for the firm to perform the audit, it
needed the classified, secret tax documents that was provided by the IRS. However, according to
current U.S. law, only employees of the IRS are authorized to view those files. In light of this,

For example, there are moments throughout the novel in which the wind blows as Sethe is thinking
and she is brought back to her days at Sweet Home, seeing the beautiful trees that surrounded the
plantation. However, those were not nice moments to be reminded of as the particular trees she
remembers are the trees that hung her fellow companions on the plantation. The story frames it as,
Boys hanging from the most beautiful sycamores in the world. It shamed her remembering the
wonderful soughing trees rather than the boys (pg. 7). Thus, right off the bat, Sethe has a clear
relationship with nature but it is so two faced that it could be something seen as a beautiful sight or a
shocking reminder. Along with that, overall she has very bad experiences at Sweet Home when it
came to having her milk stolen and just being a slave in general. But she is not able to control when
those thoughts come to her as, her brain was devious, (pg. 6), so any sight of a tree could provide her
with a sudden wave of depression, much different from what it would provide for the others. The

that Sethe is running away from Sweet Home, going through the woods. Although that moment
brought her freedom and a new life bringing her choice and much more, the process of it all was

there were actually three ways that he was believed to have changed in the book. Johnny first started

about it. Johnny thought he could take on any job that was brought to him, alone. In which actually

The Hero Of Faith Based Social Justice
The ongoing war for social justice in all of its varying facets and regions throughout the globe
demands the relentless commitment of a select few individuals whom voluntarily endure
immeasurable trials to obtain justice and salvation for the afflicted individuals whom they represent.
The willingness to accept criticism and hatred from their peers, the willingness to spend years of their
lives in a cold, isolated prison, and the willingness to even sacrifice their own lives for these selfless
pursuits grants these individuals the title: hero of faith based social justice. The unyielding dedication
of these heroes to these endeavors of social justice is truly remarkable and can be attributed to one
common characteristic: an unusually devout faith in a higher power. I believe that faith can serve as a
powerful inspiration for individuals to pursue social justice, and the dedication to one s faith can
influence their commitment to accomplishing their specific goal or mission in the realm of social
justice. The acclaimed hero of faith based social justice: William Wilberforce clearly portrays this
relationship in his own life experiences as a converted Christian who dedicated his life to the work of
social justice.
Like a common thread intertwining the several heroes of social justice whom I have studied
throughout the semester, the devotion to their own respective faith has empowered these individuals to
dedicate their lives to the arduous task of representing the oppressed

The Punishment And Capital Punishment Essay
In the horizon, there are always heightened debates over issues with capital punishment in today
judicial system. Today thirty three states, along with the United Stated Government and U.S. military,
have the power to legally take away someone s life. Though it is very much illegal to take someone
life within society, our state and federal government s do the very same thing we are prohibited from
doing. The first section in this paper, will be discussing the reason on why our governments allow
capital punishment, relating to the deterrence of crimes such as murder. The deterrence of murder and
capital punishment seem to only work if you over exercise capital punishment. Such evidence
provided will show the difference in states that utilize capital punishment more than other states that
have not abolished the deterrence method. The second section will be discussing the retribution
relating to capital punishment. It also covers unanswered questions that relate to utilizing methods of
execution on innocent people. The last section covers the Eighth Amendment violation relating to
cruel and unusual punishment. It also discusses some of the botched executions that have been
conducted over the years.
Deterrence
Recent studies by sociologist suggest that capital punishment and/or the death penalty, does not deter
crimes such as murder . On the other hand, recent empirical studies conducted by economists suggest
that capital punishment does deter crimes such as murder

yellow color if acid is produced, which would occur in lactose fermentation. The Durham tube allows

Why Correlation Does Not Prove Causation
There seems to be a general tendency to attribute causation with correlation. People often conclude
that causation exist when the association between variables is seemingly obvious but this is a common
mistakes that people makes. It is important to note that correlation does not prove causation.
Correlation just simply implies that a relationship between variables exists and that there is a
possibility of a cause and effect relationship; however, it does not prove causation actually exist.
Correlation do not indicate in which direction the relationship works such as Variable A could cause
Variable B, or vice versa, or may a third (or fourth, or even fifth) variable may be the cause of both of
the other related variables.

Descriptive Essay On A Tornado
The Tornado
I was playing outside on a hot, late afternoon in August. My mother and grandmother were in the
house. My dad was at work. I was five.
In the time it took to bend down, pick up the ball, and stand, the day changed. No birds sang, no
insects buzzed, nothing. There s no wind, I said aloud. It seemed as if the earth had sucked in all the
air around me. The hair on my arms stood up. The poplar leaves hung still.
I looked around me slowly, as if in a dream. Across Palmer s fields, where the sun went down, the sky
had darkened. I started walking there, towards the west. The tall grass in front of me was still.
I could hear myself breathing. The farmland shimmered in slow motion stillness. The sky changed
colour. Now, it was green.
The screen door slammed. It made a loud crack in the silence. Whirling around, I saw my mother
coming onto the front porch. She yelled something. Her hair was blowing. Her apron was blowing
against her. Wind! I looked back to the west, and there was the storm clawing its way into the sky
above me. I stood staring, held by its power. The wind felt wild. It rolled around me. I loved it.
From almost another world, I heard my mother yell, Tara May Stewart, you get in this house right
now!
I didn t want to go. I wanted to stay, rooted to this fierce place. The dog came bounding, Get moving,
he said, tongue lolling, eyes wide, his body banging against my legs.
My grandmother now stood next to my mother, thin arms waving. Her tiny frame was lashed by her
apron strings, her bony knees swaying. The wind pushed me towards them until I had to run or be
thrown to the ground. The rain came slashing at my legs, and by the time my feet hit the porch steps, I
could hardly keep myself upright.
My mother grasped my arms in fear and anger, pulling me into the house. Once inside, she pushed her
whole body against the heavy front door until it finally shut. I heard the lock snap into place against
the rain and wind.
Get downstairs, she shouted. The door to the root cellar was already open. It leaned against the side of
the cellar closet. Grandma climbed down the wooden stairs first, then me. My sister was already down
there. My mother came down last, pulling the hinged door over us.

The Negative Effects Of European Colonialism In Africa
Why is Africa so much less developed than the other countries all around the world? It has been
scientifically proven that all ethnic groups all over the world have similar physical abilities. European
colonialism stopped Africa from developing into a strong and mighty continent. In the 18th and 19th
century, the massive colonisation of Africa by the European forces began. Europeans were looking for
a new trade route because they wanted to avoid paying expensive taxes while trading with the East
(Causes of the Scramble for Africa, African History). The European Colonialism in Africa had a
negative effect, and it has been proven by several reasons. One, resources and money from Africa was
taken to Europe by the European colonists. Two, Africans ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The European Colonialism in Africa had a critical effect on the number of ethnic groups and tribes (
The Scramble of Africa ). In the 1800 s, Africa had over 7400 tribes (Tribal Groups of Africa). The
number of tribes today in Africa is only about 3000 ( African Tribe List ). This proves that the
European Colonialism in Africa had a huge impact on the number of tribes. The loss of tribes caused
the native Africans to lose their traditions and cultures, such as their own language and belief. Also,
European colonialism in Africa brought Christianity to Africa. The Africans were forced to forget their
traditional religion they ve been following for a long time. The Europeans forced the Africans into
believing in Christianity (Jennifer Mueller). These weren t the only factors how the European
colonists took away the Africans culture and traditions. Having a national language as a nation is one
of the most critical factor of keeping their own culture. However, some of the native Africans were
also forced to stop using their national languages. The loss of national languages caused lots of
different parts of Africa to lose their own tradition. European colonialism in Africa was negative not
only because of the loss of culture and tradition, but also the lack of freedom granted to the native

Informative Essay About Basketball
What It Takes
Intro
Ever wonder what it takes to be a college athlete? Sure, the games and events are fun to watch but
what exactly goes into preparing for these events and games? I will tell you exactly what it takes and
what a college basketball player goes through because all the audience sees are the flashy views of the
sport. However, we will now take a look at the sport from the other side of the ball.
Background
The game of basketball was created by Dr. James Naismith in 1891. The original equipment of the
game was a literal peach basket and a soccer ball. By 1892 the first official game of basketball was
played in a YMCA in New York. Then by 1895 basketball was a standard sport and began to be played
all around even within high schools and colleges. In 1906 rims and back boards were made and by
1949 basketball could be played professionally. As the sport came along the skill level of players
increased and the game became flashier. Numerous professional legends were showcases like Michael
Jordan, Larry Bird, and Charles Barkley. Now the game is super complex and skill driven.
Sure, the sport is exciting to watch, but there is a vast number of things that the player puts into the
sport. A college basketball player puts countless hours into the sport. With the combined time of
treatment, practice, and lifting weights, that makes for a full load of work to go along with their school
work. The audience in which watching the game does not see the extra time and effort put

Chipotle prepared all food on site, beginning with raw ingredients from responsibly sourced and

mid sized regional companies, not large national firms. It also sourced ingredients form local farms,

suppliers were then approved and products were sold to third party distributors purchasing for

In 2013, Chipotle was the first large American chain to identify genetically modified ingredients on its

Additionally, Chipotle offered a service model that could be easily personalized, allowing customers

Young Goodman Brown: The Value of Dreams
Young Goodman Brown The Birthmark Nathaniel Hawthorne s stories Young Goodman Brown and
The Birthmark both make use of dreams to affect the story and reveal the central characters. With each
story, the dreams presented are extremely beneficial to the development of the story as they give the
reader a new view of the plot itself, or the characters within. At the same time, however, it becomes
difficult to determine how much of the dream has been affected by the character, and how much is
pure fantasy. This is true with Young Goodman Brown, who cannot determine whether the events in
his life actually occurred, or if they simply were created in his troubled ... Show more content on

After a night of making deals with the Devil, having all of his fellow countrymen show their Satanic
sympathies and himself becoming affiliated with the Fallen Angel, Brown understandably looks to
account these incredible events to a dream state. However, Brown acts coldly towards Faith after that
particular night, and completely changes his demeaner as he begins to question whether the dream
was, in fact, a dream, or reality. What may have been but a dream turns out to haunt Brown for the rest
of his life, as he can no longer accept the people in his life for what they appear to be, and can not
forget that he saw them all at the witch meeting. In contrast, is the debatable question of whether or
not the dream was only a wild dream (Hawthorne, 318). If Young Goodman Brown indeed did dream
of the witch meeting, then he has wasted his life with his unrestrained, unrelenting paranoia. Because
of the ambiguity of the situation, where neither the reader, narrator nor protagonist can be sure of the
validity of the dream s depictions of the residents of Salem, Hawthorne makes it difficult of analyze
Brown s character. It it therefore impossible to come to any absolute conclusions regarding the nature
of Young Goodman Brown as one cannot accurately assess what has happened to him, and the
consequences of those events.

Reflective Essay On St Pauls
St Pauls Cathedral is a massive, classically inspired building standing high in the London skyline. A
central building in the Anglican faith, St Pauls serves as a global landmark and tourist destination for
both religious pilgrims and tourists trying to see the majesty of the building. The building itself is
wonderfully ornate, with high ceilings, a soaring dome, and filled with artwork, reflecting the
greatness and glory or God, and showing a not so iconoclastic version of Protestantism. This
illustrates the position of Anglicanism within the spectrum of Christian faiths: Anglicanism is
somewhere between Roman Catholicism and the various sects of Protestantism, taking up the middle
way of the spectrum. My experience at the Cathedral of St Pauls was coloured by my experiences
within the Roman Catholic Church, allowing me to understand this middle way with more depth. As
most know, the Anglican Church was started as a direct result of the Pope s refusal to grant an
annulment to Henry VIII, causing Henry to split from the Roman Catholic Church. In 1534, Henry
VIII signed the Act of Succession and the Act of Supremacy, thus creating the Church of England
(BBC, 2011). This happened in tandem with the Reformation, which was sweeping throughout
Europe. However, because of the political nature, rather than theological nature, of this transition, the
core beliefs of the Church of England are not too far removed from those of the Roman Catholic
Church. The beliefs of the

Negative Effects Of Palm Oil
There is an abundance of atrocities facing the modern world that we live in, but one of the most
important and critically pressing of these atrocities is often overlooked. The very ecosystems and
resources that we rely so heavily on for the success of our global economies are being exploited at a
rate that will have catastrophic consequences on the future of our economic success, as well as drive a
large portion of the worlds biodiversity into extinction. Among the most prevalent case of
environmental degradation and biodiversity loss includes the rapid deforestation and loss of
biodiversity that is caused by the production of palm oil in the South Asian countries Indonesia and
Malaysia. Many may argue that this rapid deforestation is simply due to the rapidly growing global
population, whereas many others view this issue as the effect of greed and consumerism that
surrounds a capitalistic market. The production of this forest risk commodity is responsible for the
absurd rate of deforestation in Indonesia and Malaysia, has a profoundly negative effect on the
biodiversity located in Indonesia and Malaysia, and can best be explained from a political economy
standpoint. Palm oil is a key component in the production of a vast array of products that span over
many different industries such as the consumer retail food industry, the personal care and cosmetics
industry, the biofuel industry, and the pharmaceutical industry. It is estimated that approximately 50%

Why Is Montresor Wrong
Has someone ever done something to you that angered you? Louis L Armour states Anger is a killing
thing. It kills the man who angers, for each rage leaves him less than he had before it takes something
from him . In the story Cask of Amontillado by Edgar Allen Poe, the main character, Montresor, kills
his friend because fortunato did him wrong. Nemo me impune lacessit (Poe 289), says No one attacks
me with impunity . This is the cause of Montresor s actions. In this story Montresor lures his friend
into a cell, where he starves him to death as revenge for being insulted. This punishment is far too
harsh for such a little crime. Although Montresor felt bad after the death of his friend, it does not
change the cruelness, hatred, and anger he holds. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
During the story, Montresor states Let us be gone (Poe 292), merely mocking Fortunato before his
death. As you can see, Montresor was cruel to Fortunato, even during the process of murdering him.
Although he had said something this mean, Montresor could not stop. He mocked fortunato with cruel
his voice, and laughed as he suffered. Not only is Montresor cruel, but he is full of hatred. In the story,
Montresor says The thousand injuries of Fortunato I had borne as I best could; but when he ventured
upon insult, I vowed revenge (Poe 286). This obviously shows the hatred Montresor holds, and the
lengths he will go to get revenge. This also shows that Fortunato had done something to him, thus
giving him a reason to hate Fortunato. Another part of the story showing Montresor this way is when
he says, I must not only punish him, but punish with impunity (Poe

In maternal child health in the United States and feasibly throughout the world, preterm birth is
currently the most important problem and is the most significant challenge to modern obstetrics.
According to the World Health Organization, a preterm birth is defined as birth before 37 completed
weeks of gestation. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (2014) estimated that 1 in 9
infants born in United States are preterm babies. Preterm related reasons of death together accounted
for 35% of all infant deaths in 2010, more than any other single cause. Preterm birth is also a foremost
cause of long term neurological disabilities in children. Preterm birth costs the U.S. health care system
more than $26 billion in 2005 (CDC, 2014). Preterm birth is a condition triggered by several
etiologies, one of which is a drop in progesterone action, which makes cervical ripening. A

My Life s Up And Downs And The Decisions
As I look back at my life s up and downs and the decisions I ve made along the way, thing could have
gone for better or worse, hence the motto in the title. I can recall making small decisions on what I
should spend my time on, either play with my childhood friend s after school or review the homework
that I finished in class? Playtime almost won every time. Even though I knew that reviewing some of
my homework could only help me, even with the good grades I was already making, the decision was
made that I wanted to play more than study. At an early age I began to finish my homework
beforehand so I could spend more time out playing with my friends and eventually I formed a comfort
zone that showed consistency and balance between my grades and studying habits; I studied zilch yet
received high grades that included many A s on tests. As time went on the same process continued and
I was still able to remain on track and keep my high grades throughout middle and high school. The
following years really struck me as a surprise when I entered my first college year and first set of
assignments. Considering my standard work load of finishing my homework at school was completely
halted due to the mere fact that class lasted a lot longer but with no time to finish the homework
assignment before leaving class yet even take a look at it. Everything was starting to get restructured
and my norm was thrown out the window after a rough first semester. Throughout my life there s been

Unethical Advertising
Advertising to children should not be considered unethical or be deemed related to childhood obesity
as there are many factors that play into obesity that are being denied or overlooked if the blame is put
on advertising. Often, advertising is merely used as the scapegoat. Further, the primary intent of
advertising food is to increase brand awareness; not to increase consumption. As defined by the
Merriam Webster Dictionary, advertising is the action of calling something to the attention of the
public, its purpose is not to force individuals to perform an action, rather just make their
product/service more known ( Advertising ). According to Kant s Duty Based Ethics, since the intent
of advertising is not to increase obesity in the consumers , it cannot be deemed unethical. Overall,
research shows that most children under the age of 6 cannot distinguish between programming and
advertising; therefore, this further attests to advertising not being harmful to kids and their health. In
general, excess weight gain in young people is similar to those in adults, including factors such as a
person s behavior and genetics. Therefore, there should not be a focus on advertising to kids alone; if
there needs to be more regulations with advertising in terms of advertising to kids, then regulations
should be made in advertising to adults as well.
Obesity is considered a disease that is derived from having too much body fat. The extra weight can
be from bone, muscle, fat, and/or body water (Obesity: Medline). In any case, the disease is present
when the weight of the person is greater than what s considered healthy for his or her height. Although
advertising food to kids may contribute to the rate of obesity in America, it is proven that it is not the
only factor and certainly is not the most prominent. There are a number of other factors that can
contribute to obesity in an individual.
Obesity is a condition that some individuals may not have any control over as it may be caused by
their genetic makeup. A countless number of studies have established that the different forms of
obesity tend to be generated within a family. According to the Center of Research at the University of
Laval, the risk of obesity is 2 to 8 times

Market Share Of The Enterprise Software
This is how 2015 market share of the enterprise software looked like for the top 10 vendors of total
$320B in product revenues.
Gartner s 2Q16 forecast shows that 2016 global spending for enterprise software will be $367.5 billion
in constant U.S. dollars.
Large organizations as well as small startups have been focusing on the enterprise segment. Once
consumer only products like iPhone (for business) and Android (for work) are now enterprise ready
and widely used for businesses in the large organizations. Moreover, the business model shift from a
legacy on premises to the cloud based SaaS model is evident and that is enabling both, businesses as
well as vendors, to be agile, work from everywhere, reduce maintenance/ownership cost and quickly
scale to the evolving business demands. It s not surprising that nowadays virtually every enterprise
software offers a flavor of cloud or SaaS solution.
Though as of today most of the enterprise softwares are still sold traditionally where CIO/CXO and
business relations play crucial roles, but the market shift, workforce sentiment/satisfactions can t be
ignored for long. As a result, established players and leaders in the segment are changing and pulling
up their sleeves to deliver modern and competitive products. Contrary to what Paul Graham said in
2007, today enterprise software companies are also trying to be technology companies.
However, building enterprise software always has been challenging. In my opinion, consumer

demonstrate the variety of roles women had in the nineteen hundreds. These two women had many
similarities, but their few differences lifted them into different levels of society. Celie, for example,
was a black woman who faced much adversity starting at a young age. Celie grew up abused by her
father only to be forced into an abusive marriage. Shug Avery, on the other hand, was a confident and
bold Jazz singer who had a complicated relationship with Mr. Blank, Celie s husband. While Celie is

all empowering woman, it is their relationship that allows both women to grow. Due to their
friendship Celie gains the confidence to break free from societal oppression and Shug Avery grows
into a kinder and more emphatic women. While Celie and Shug Avery are foil Characters it is their
relationship that frees both women from various forms of oppression and allows them to grow. Celie is

The Importance of Wearing a Seatbelt
We have all heard the excuses before, It s uncomfortable, I m only going around the corner , I d rather
be thrown out of a car than be stuck in a seatbelt, and my favorite, I m a good driver I don t need to
wear one. Well you may be a good driver but there are situations beyond your control such as bad
weather, road conditions and not to mention other drivers that can affect your safety. Seat belts can
mean the difference between life and death in an auto accident. Wearing a seat belt every time you

For the people who use the excuse that They are just going around the corner should realize that 80%
of traffic fatalities occur within a 25 mile radius of your home and at a speed of 40 miles an hour.
Buckling up to drive around the block is probably the best time to do so. Everyone knows that car
crashes can cause death; yet because people do not buckle up all the time thousands of people still die
in traffic crashes yearly. Seatbelts can save your life in a crash and can reduce your risk of a serious
injury. Seat belts keep drivers and passengers from being ejected through windows or doors. This is
important because your chances of being killed are five times greater if you are thrown from the
vehicle. Thousands of people who die in car crashes each year might still be alive today if they had
only been wearing their seat belts.
Wearing a seat belt isn t just a good idea; it s the law and many states conduct heightened enforcement
of their seat belt laws. Forty nine states, all except New Hampshire have mandatory safety belt laws.
In most states, these laws cover front seat occupants only, although belt laws in 16 jurisdictions
including New York cover all rear seat occupants also. New York is one of 19 jurisdictions where belt
use laws are standard, or primary, meaning police may stop vehicles solely for belt law violations. In
17 states including New York the safety belt defense is allowed, meaning damages collected by

  • 2. How I Build A Personal Computer How to Build a Personal Computer Building your own PC (personal computer) is a both informative and cost effective method when you are in need of a computer. The process of selecting compatible parts is the most difficult part of building your own computer, but luckily assembling everything is a very easy process that will be outlined in the following pages. Step 1: Preparing your workspace The first step in the process of assembling your brand new PC is to select the best workplace available to protect your shiny new parts. Static electricity is the biggest worry to have while constructing a brand new computer and there are precautions to take whether you are on a solid smooth surface, or more importantly, on carpet. First and foremost, the most important item to have on hand is an anti static wrist strap. The use of a wrist strap will help prevent ESD (electrostatic discharge) that could possibly damage the components during assembly. Another important aspect is to keep the area free of clutter and have a flat open space that will allow for easy movement around the computer case. Take care when moving and unwrapping the parts to avoid possibly damaging any pins or chipping the fragile edges of things such as the motherboard, memory, and video card. Once everything has been removed from its protective wrapping, you can begin piecing everything together. Step 2: Installing the motherboard The second step in building your computer will be to install the motherboard with ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 4. The Code Of Ethics And Systematic Ethics Abstract. The article reviewed was The Impact of Ethical Tools on Aggressiveness in Financial Reporting. The key of the abstract is to demonstrate the differences in financial reporting between the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and U.S. Standards (p.477). More in depth the research focuses on the code of ethics and moral duties of company top management. Introduction. The authors study the financial scandals and the recent financial crisis to demonstrate the gap between market processes and accounting standards. The IFRS and U.S. GAAP differ in contrary nature of accounting standards. GAAP is considered as rule based standards, while IFRS viewed as a principle based. The main objective of the research is to specify the impact of ethical setting on judgment and decisions of accountants. The code of ethics and systematic ethics trainings can diminish the inconsistencies from accounting policies. In the Tudor Era, the complex organization of the families, along with the social classes played an important role in society. There are six social classes in this particular era. The Monarch, Nobility, Gentry, Merchant, Yeomanry, and the Laborers. Every class had its own problems but they each had something that made being the class okay living within starting with Monarch. The Monarch was the highest in the hierarchy of the Elizabethan era, it was led by Queen Elizabeth I. She was the sixth and last monarch and was considered the best ruler of the Tudor era. The Elizabethan era was the Golden Age. Each of the social classes had hardships in them that they had to deal with. But each had goods things going on within the social class too. For example, the yeomen are wealthy but they are not classified as a higher hierarchy because of the way they spend their money. Also as for the nobility they were wealthy but because they had to have many lavish things it put them in debt. But, they made both made it work because of Queen Elizabeth I help. • 6. Analysis Of On The Waterfront On the Waterfront was photographed in such a captivating way. Boris Kaufman had a vision ahead of his time. Many scenes in the movie are understood, not just through the script, but from the cinematography as well. Three scenes in particular catch my eye. It is the artistic style and flare of conveying the same idea in multiple mediums. The first scene is when Terry and Edie are on the rooftop at Joey s pigeon coup. This scene portrays the moment in which I believe was the catalyst for Terry that lead him to be truthful to Evie and stand up to Friendly. The second scene that I will speak about is when Kayo Dugan is killed. When the preacher is giving his speech to all the longshoremen. That speech was a testament of one man speaking out for what he knew was right. The third scene that I will choose for this essay is where Terry walks to Friendly s dock office. After the fight, Terry s march to work puts you on the edge of your seat. Each scene has depth that few movies achieve. The first scene is the rooftop scene with Terry and Evie. The whole scene is shot with natural light. Kaufman begins the scene with a long shot of the rooftop. Terry is waving a long stick with a rag at the top of it to call back the pigeons to the coup. I believe Terry waving the white flag was an implied surrender to Evie s love and the truth of what really happened to Joey. Even though, Terry is still conflicted afterwards, this is his first step toward standing up to the Friendly and his ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. The Sannyasin The Song of the Sannyasin by Swami Vivekananda is a great poem that explores some of the fundamental principals of Hindu philosophy. Some things that the poem addresses are karma, dharma, Maya, samsara, moksha, and more. Not only does it address and explore Hindu philosophy, it also specifically addresses Sannyasin and their calling. Even though this poem directly addresses Sannyasin, it can be used as insight and inspiration for all who read it. The following is a stanza by stanza analysis of the poem, The Song of the Sannyasin This first stanza is stating that in order to discover who one truly is, they must wake up meaning that they must realize that they are part of the eternal soul. On the other hand, Dharma is the duty one has for their caste. These two things are key principals of Hindu philosophy. The poem explains how no one can escape karma, and that it is built into the universe, and how one must always follow their Dharma. But even with these things being the case, far beyond Karma and Dharma is Atman, our eternal soul, and that is the most important thing to remember. The fifth stanza addresses the fact that we are not out bodies, and that most people do not realize this because they are so strung up in Maya. This stanza is saying that we are not what we do, whether it be mothering, or working at a job. These things to not make us who we are. Our body does not make us who we are, who we really are is an eternal soul, Atman. But not only that, we are all part of one universal, eternal soul, Brahman. The sixth stanza is about how even if someone knows that they are part of the eternal soul, they may still cling onto Maya. This is because Maya keeps people from truly seeing their one true self fully, it is an illusion. We may think Maya is the true reality, but it is not. Our true self sees the nature of our reality as it really is. It is an unrestricted view of the true reality opposed to Maya. This stanza is telling the Sannyasin to remember who they really are, an eternal ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

However, for business purposes, written contracts are usually preferred due to the following reasons: The contents ( terms ) are in writing for all to see They can ensure that precise language is used in describing the terms of the agreement There is, therefore, less opportunity for misunderstandings and conflicting assumptions There is less need to rely on memories of what was originally agreed The individuals involved in the transaction may change over time. Because Charlie suffers from selective mutism and has a shy personality, which makes her feel different from others around her, there are parts of the novel in which the Charlie Davis is left silently perceiving and even actively disconnected from the world around her. I can tell that she feels disconnected and silently observes because she says, I cut all my words out. My heart was too full of them (Page 4). Because of her feeling of separation from others, especially those who has their life all figured out, she starts feeling detached, memories from her disturbing experiences begin to appear, and she remembers all those who has abandoned her, she does self harm, once again. Cross culturally fertility and childbearing are a major concern due to the significance of passing on heritage, family names, and values to the next generation. Additionally, in many cultures the children are responsible for the care of their parents when they become elderly. Infertility is a universal concern in both Western and developing countries. It is estimated that up to 168 million people across the globe are affected with infertility. The bulk of these cases reside within developing countries (Vayena Rowe, 2002). When couples are having trouble conceiving a child it is a source of distress for both partners (Helman, 2007, p. 176). Additionally, Whitehouse and Hollos (2014) identify different classifications of mother s, which are culturally defined as infertile. There is the childless woman who fits the traditional definition of infertile by never having been pregnant or birthed a live child. The childless mother is a woman who has birthed a child but that child then died. The subfertile woman is a woman who has not birthed enough children or they have not had enough children of one gender (i.e. sons). While the subfertile women are able to participate in the women s meetings they are still lower in the hierarchy of mothers. Though they do not meet the biomedical qualifications for infertile, the subfertile women can still face similar socioeconomic difficulties of the women who do (Whitehouse Hollos, 2014). In order to understand the infertility cross culturally, it is imperative that we know how each culture perceives and deals with the problem. Western ideas about infertility can vary a great deal from other cultures. There is a growing culture in western nations of childlessness being a choice (Balen Inhorn, 2002). This can help eliminate the social stigma of not having children because it is difficult to determine from the outside if this is a voluntary choice. Though, westerners can be affected just as much by infertility, the increasingly medicalized view of infertility allow for reproductive technologies to be better accepted (Balen Inhorn, ... However, the Commissioner of Internal Revenue and its successor continued past the expiration date and stayed in effect up to present day in America. The IRS spent years requesting documents and interviews with Microsoft employees regarding the investigation. In December of 2014, the IRS sued Microsoft in order to force them to turnover documents and information that the IRS claimed the company failed to provide in the investigation. Microsoft s position in regards to the IRS is that they abused their federal power when they hired an outside law firm to aide them in auditing Microsoft. In 2014, the IRS decided to hire an outside law firm to discuss the case against Microsoft. The problem was that the law firm, Quinn Emanuel, had little experience handling taxpayer data, and in order for the firm to perform the audit, it needed the classified, secret tax documents that was provided by the IRS. However, those were not nice moments to be reminded of as the particular trees she remembers are the trees that hung her fellow companions on the plantation. The story frames it as, Boys hanging from the most beautiful sycamores in the world. It shamed her remembering the wonderful soughing trees rather than the boys (pg. 7). Thus, right off the bat, Sethe has a clear relationship with nature but it is so two faced that it could be something seen as a beautiful sight or a shocking reminder. Along with that, overall she has very bad experiences at Sweet Home when it came to having her milk stolen and just being a slave in general. But she is not able to control when those thoughts come to her as, her brain was devious, (pg. 6), so any sight of a tree could provide her with a sudden wave of depression, much different from what it would provide for the others. The inbetween of the positive and negative association with trees and nature would come in the moment that Sethe is running away from Sweet Home, going through the woods. Although that moment brought her freedom and a new life bringing her choice and much more, the process of it all was insanely brutal. All throughout her escape, she was pregnant with Denver and had extremely swollen feet, causing her to be tired out quickly. She reached a point in which she wanted to stop and die, but she is instead tended by a white woman in passing, called Amy Denver, stops to help her, bringing the positive association with trees for Sethe. • 17. The Hero Of Faith Based Social Justice The ongoing war for social justice in all of its varying facets and regions throughout the globe demands the relentless commitment of a select few individuals whom voluntarily endure immeasurable trials to obtain justice and salvation for the afflicted individuals whom they represent. The willingness to accept criticism and hatred from their peers, the willingness to spend years of their lives in a cold, isolated prison, and the willingness to even sacrifice their own lives for these selfless pursuits grants these individuals the title: hero of faith based social justice. The unyielding dedication of these heroes to these endeavors of social justice is truly remarkable and can be attributed to one common characteristic: an unusually devout faith in a higher power. I believe that faith can serve as a powerful inspiration for individuals to pursue social justice, and the dedication to one s faith can influence their commitment to accomplishing their specific goal or mission in the realm of social justice. The acclaimed hero of faith based social justice: William Wilberforce clearly portrays this relationship in his own life experiences as a converted Christian who dedicated his life to the work of social justice. Like a common thread intertwining the several heroes of social justice whom I have studied throughout the semester, the devotion to their own respective faith has empowered these individuals to dedicate their lives to the arduous task of representing the oppressed ... Lactose Fermentation Lab After making a clear dichotomous key, I knew the metabolic tests that needed to be performed on both, unknown 1A and unknown 1B, in order to lead to an identification. On Unknown 1A, the first test required was a lactose fermentation test. I needed one tube of lactose and phenol red broth, fitted with a Durham tube. The phenol red is a Ph indicator, and would turn the broth from a red color to a yellow color if acid is produced, which would occur in lactose fermentation. The Durham tube allows us to see if any gas is produced in the fermentation process. If there is a bubble in the tube, this shows that gas was produced. People often conclude that causation exist when the association between variables is seemingly obvious but this is a common mistakes that people makes. It is important to note that correlation does not prove causation. Correlation just simply implies that a relationship between variables exists and that there is a possibility of a cause and effect relationship; however, it does not prove causation actually exist. • 21. Descriptive Essay On A Tornado The Tornado I was playing outside on a hot, late afternoon in August. My mother and grandmother were in the house. My dad was at work. I was five. In the time it took to bend down, pick up the ball, and stand, the day changed. No birds sang, no insects buzzed, nothing. There s no wind, I said aloud. It seemed as if the earth had sucked in all the air around me. The hair on my arms stood up. The poplar leaves hung still. I looked around me slowly, as if in a dream. Across Palmer s fields, where the sun went down, the sky had darkened. I started walking there, towards the west. The tall grass in front of me was still. I could hear myself breathing. The farmland shimmered in slow motion stillness. The sky changed colour. Now, it was green. The screen door slammed. It made a loud crack in the silence. Whirling around, I saw my mother coming onto the front porch. She yelled something. Her hair was blowing. Her apron was blowing against her. Wind! I looked back to the west, and there was the storm clawing its way into the sky above me. I stood staring, held by its power. The wind felt wild. It rolled around me. I loved it. From almost another world, I heard my mother yell, Tara May Stewart, you get in this house right now! I didn t want to go. I wanted to stay, rooted to this fierce place. The dog came bounding, Get moving, he said, tongue lolling, eyes wide, his body banging against my legs. My grandmother now stood next to my mother, thin arms waving. Her tiny frame was lashed by her apron strings, her bony knees swaying. The wind pushed me towards them until I had to run or be thrown to the ground. The rain came slashing at my legs, and by the time my feet hit the porch steps, I could hardly keep myself upright. My mother grasped my arms in fear and anger, pulling me into the house. Once inside, she pushed her whole body against the heavy front door until it finally shut. I heard the lock snap into place against the rain and wind. Get downstairs, she shouted. This proves that the European Colonialism in Africa had a huge impact on the number of tribes. The loss of tribes caused the native Africans to lose their traditions and cultures, such as their own language and belief. Also, European colonialism in Africa brought Christianity to Africa. The Africans were forced to forget their traditional religion they ve been following for a long time. The Europeans forced the Africans into believing in Christianity (Jennifer Mueller). I will tell you exactly what it takes and what a college basketball player goes through because all the audience sees are the flashy views of the sport. However, we will now take a look at the sport from the other side of the ball. Background The game of basketball was created by Dr. James Naismith in 1891. The original equipment of the game was a literal peach basket and a soccer ball. By 1892 the first official game of basketball was played in a YMCA in New York. Then by 1895 basketball was a standard sport and began to be played all around even within high schools and colleges. In 1906 rims and back boards were made and by 1949 basketball could be played professionally. As the sport came along the skill level of players increased and the game became flashier. Numerous professional legends were showcases like Michael Jordan, Larry Bird, and Charles Barkley. Now the game is super complex and skill driven. Sure, the sport is exciting to watch, but there is a vast number of things that the player puts into the sport. A college basketball player puts countless hours into the sport. A central building in the Anglican faith, St Pauls serves as a global landmark and tourist destination for both religious pilgrims and tourists trying to see the majesty of the building. The building itself is wonderfully ornate, with high ceilings, a soaring dome, and filled with artwork, reflecting the greatness and glory or God, and showing a not so iconoclastic version of Protestantism. This illustrates the position of Anglicanism within the spectrum of Christian faiths: Anglicanism is somewhere between Roman Catholicism and the various sects of Protestantism, taking up the middle way of the spectrum. My experience at the Cathedral of St Pauls was coloured by my experiences within the Roman Catholic Church, allowing me to understand this middle way with more depth. As most know, the Anglican Church was started as a direct result of the Pope s refusal to grant an annulment to Henry VIII, causing Henry to split from the Roman Catholic Church. In 1534, Henry VIII signed the Act of Succession and the Act of Supremacy, thus creating the Church of England (BBC, 2011). This happened in tandem with the Reformation, which was sweeping throughout Europe. • 34. Unethical Advertising Advertising to children should not be considered unethical or be deemed related to childhood obesity as there are many factors that play into obesity that are being denied or overlooked if the blame is put on advertising. Often, advertising is merely used as the scapegoat. Further, the primary intent of advertising food is to increase brand awareness; not to increase consumption. As defined by the Merriam Webster Dictionary, advertising is the action of calling something to the attention of the public, its purpose is not to force individuals to perform an action, rather just make their product/service more known ( Advertising ). According to Kant s Duty Based Ethics, since the intent of advertising is not to increase obesity in the consumers , it cannot be deemed unethical. Overall, research shows that most children under the age of 6 cannot distinguish between programming and advertising; therefore, this further attests to advertising not being harmful to kids and their health. In general, excess weight gain in young people is similar to those in adults, including factors such as a person s behavior and genetics. Therefore, there should not be a focus on advertising to kids alone; if there needs to be more regulations with advertising in terms of advertising to kids, then regulations should be made in advertising to adults as well. Obesity is considered a disease that is derived from having too much body fat. The extra weight can be from bone, muscle, fat, and/or body water (Obesity: Medline). In any case, the disease is present when the weight of the person is greater than what s considered healthy for his or her height. Although advertising food to kids may contribute to the rate of obesity in America, it is proven that it is not the only factor and certainly is not the most prominent. There are a number of other factors that can contribute to obesity in an individual. Obesity is a condition that some individuals may not have any control over as it may be caused by their genetic makeup.
