2. What is typhoid?
• Also called Enteric fever
• Salmonella typhi
bacteria cause typhoid
and this bacteria grows in
the contaminated water
i.e contaminated pounds

4. What are symptoms of typhoid?
• Slowly increasing fever day by day …
• almost No fever at morning and at evening
fever appears round about 100F -101F and
after 5 to 7 days 104F.
• Some patients also have Rose spots appear on
body
• In the
• 1st week: Constipation seen and from
• 2nd week: Diarrhea also occur.
5. • Intestinal perforation ( means pores appear in
the Intestine )
• Abdominal pain
• Bloating(gas in the intestine), Nausea and
vomiting
• Loss of appetite
• Excessive feeling of tiredness
• Muscle weakness
• Skin rash
• Weight loss

7. Causes of typhoid?
• Cause by Gram –ve bacteria called Salmonella
typhi which is enter in our body by
contaminated food or water.
• (Gram +ve bacteria can easily destroy by single
antibiotic but Gram - ve bacteria can not
destroy by single antibiotic so we have to use
multiple antibiotic)
8. • It firstly attack on our digestive track and
increase their growth and as its population
increases it began to cause
• stomach pain,
• diarrhea,
• weight loss and
• if not treated it reaches in other organs of
body and hence patient also began to show
other symptoms like
• pneumonia,
• jaundice.
9. Diagnosis of typhoid?
• Effective Diagnose in
• 1st week: of typhoid fever is
• Blood culture test.
• Antibody test is a diagnose test In
• 2nd week: i.e Widal test

• Stool culture test
• Fecal samples

• 4th week: also diagnose from
• Urine test
• Bone Marrow
12. Prevention of typhoid?
• Avoid outside (external) food. Prefer
homemade meal.
• Always Wash hands properly before and after
meal.
• Use Typhoid Vaccine Oral and injectialbe form
• Mostly use in injectible form and recommed its
vaccine booster dose after every 2 years.
• Almost 70- 90% prevention from vaccine

14. Treatment for typhoid?
• Azenam injection (Aztreonam)
• For Adult:
• 2g dissolve with 100ml NS
and slow IV tid in
24 hours for about 2days
• After 2 days 1g dissolve
• with 100ml NS and slow
• IV for about 10- 14days.
15. • Gentamycin Inj 80mg/2ml IV or IM
• 2 times in 24 hours
for about 7-10 days.
• Ciprofloxacin 500mg/100ml infusion
2 times in 24 hours.

17. Types of Antibiotics commonly use in
typhoid treatment:
• 1. Ceftriaxone Inj
• For Adult:
• 2g dissolve in 100ml NS in morning and evening 50
drops/min IV infusion for first 2 days.
• After 2 days 1g days in morning and evening for next 5- 7.
• 2. Amikacin sulphate Inj 500mg bd IV
for 5- 7 days
• 3. Azithromycin 500mg Tabs
• p/o od upto 3 days almost 1 hour before meal.
• These 3 antibiotics use same time in 24 hrs.
18. 2nd – all symptomatic medicine
(according to symptoms)
• To treat Intestinal infection:
• Metronidazol 500mg/100ml 3 times in 24hrs
for about 5- 7days.
• If you have Fever:
• Paracetamol 500mg after breakfast , lunch and dinner
for about 3- 4 days.
• To treat Abdominal pain:
• Drotaverine 40mg/2ml IV or IM
when have abdominal pain.

20. • To treat Bloating, Vomiting and Nausea:
• Domperidone 10mg + pantoprazol 40mg
with empty stomach daily one time in 24hrs for
about 7- 10 days.
• If Nausea and Vomiting not treat from above
medicine then take.
• Ondensetron 2mg/1ml IV or IM
when vomiting or nausea (Onden inj)

22. • If you feel Muscle weakness or fatigue then
• Inj KCL 10ml ampule
• Inj kCL 5ml dissolved with 500ml DNS & take slow
IV
for 4 – 5 days in the morning.
• Vit B12 with B complex (Polybion inj) 1 ampule
dissolved with 500ml DNS & take slow IV
for 4 – 5 days in the evening.

24. • For fast recovery from typhoid to
increase immune system.
• Zinc sulphate 20mg tab one time after meal in
24 hours
for about 14 days
• Vitamin C 500mg tab two time after morning
brakfast and night dinner
for about 14 days
25. • To keep your digestive healthy:
• Sacromycesboulardii 250mg (Cap Sacro
250mg or Econorm) two time after morning
brakfast and night dinner
for about 14 days.

27. Diet for Typhoid
• Use light food
• Banana
• Fresh Fruit Juices
• Coconut water
• Green vegetables
