Globalization and the International Monetary Community Essay
Executive Summary
Our world is steadily shrinking. Technology is building bridges over the barriers of distance, language,
and culture. It s a process called globalization, and it is changing the way we live. Financial
institutions haven t been immune to the effects of this change. In fact, the international nature of
financial institutions makes them particularly vulnerable to change. This paper addresses three issues
caused by the globalization of the international monetary community.
First this paper examines the success of the Euro, and the implications for the formation of a global
currency. Then this paper looks at the issue of devaluation, and by comparing successful and
unsuccessful devaluations tries to determine ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Humanity s life got much easier when money was invented. From ten foot tall coins to small strips of
paper, currency is one of the most important inventions the human race has discovered. The invaluable
ability to trade any item for a standard of value is what makes economy possible. Today, currency
issues face the looming prospect of globalization. Like a tornado on the horizon, globalization is
threatening to reform international currency into a twisted shape unlike anything we have ever seen.
This paper addresses some of the major currency issues facing international financial organizations
today. First the success and growing pains of the Euro will be discussed, with an emphasis on the
implication of the Euro s success on world currency. Next this paper will look at the devaluation of
currency. The paper will also analyze what makes devaluation successful, and how devaluations are
sometimes simply legalized theft from a country s money holders. The final issue brought up by this
paper is the rising trend of dollarization. Shaky economies are using the dollar to stabilize their
currency, and more is being discovered about the implications of this practice all the time. The
international currency community is facing many opportunities and challenges, a few of which are
listed above. Hopefully these issues will paint a broad picture of a global financial community about
to be picked up, spun around, and deposited in a

Kaplan University Personal Statement
I am studying at Kaplan University Online to obtain a Bachelors Degree in Nutritional Science. My
dream is to be a Registered Dietitian and Nutritionist. KU s B.S.N.S. is not accredited by the
Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND), so I will need to apply for
an internship to gain experience in the field, and then apply for the RDN exam. I believe my
personality is well suited to my chosen profession and I m excited about working together with clients
and counseling them in food and nutrition. According to Truity.com, Nutritionists and Dietitians are
experts in food and nutrition (2016, para. 2). They explain and counsel nutritional issues and healthy
eating behaviors, in both group settings and one on one with patients or clients. Nutritionists and
Dietitians also determine one s health needs and diet requirements, suggest meal plans based on ...

Analysis Of Leon The Professional
Leon: The Professional (1994)
Leon: the Professional is considered to be one of the best action films of the 1990s. The film is set in
modern day New York and features Jean Reno as Leon, a professional hitman, and twelve year old
Natalie Portman as Mathilda, a neighbor of Leon in an apartment complex.
The film is, despite the tremendous age gap of the two characters, is a rather sensitive love story. A
film that is about people who have seen sights most people would never want to see, but need each
other for emotional stability. Mathilda and Leon first encounter each other while she smokes a
cigarette in the hallway of their apartment complex. Leon notices that there is a bruise on Mathilda s
face and questions her. However, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Leon drinks two quarts of milk every day. Leon drinks two quarts of milk every day. The film
introduces Leon as an ironic character, as his love for milk is visually also very ironic, in contrast to
his role as a master hitman. Milk represents Leon s paternal involvement for Mathilda and his
wholesomeness. Milk itself also represents those qualities such as: nurture, care and a fluid of life. It
carries a symbol as a fluid of innocence, in the case of the film, it s symbolic towards both Mathilda
and Leon s childhood. In many ways Leon is portrayed as an more immature figure than Mathilda.
Leon is a middle aged man who does know how to read or write, and finds extraordinary pleasure
from the most unornamented forms of entertainment, nor does Leon have any desires of sex or
relationships. 1Leon goes by to one rule no women no children, regardless of earning 5,000$ per
contract that is given to him. As a dedicated cleaner, Leon without doubt does not want change in his
life, but then as Mathilda realizes that Leon s profession is a hitman, her mission becomes clear, to
take revenge on Stansfield, for the death of her little brother.
The music in film is The Dark Side of Time, the theme from La Femme Nikita, about a girl training to
be an assassin. Mathilda desires to learn how to clean and is willing to work under Leon. Leon at first
declines Mathilda s trade, but ultimately concedes to be worn down. Leon begins to enjoy having

Just War Theory, Using The Gulf War
The following essay will present the concept of just war theory, using the Gulf War as a case study in
order to understand the concreteness of the doctrine. The choice of this case is due to the various
issues regarding the application of just war theory to modern conflict, which will be discussed in the
concluding part of the paper.
Just war tradition has its origins in the fourth century AD. The first propagandist of these ideas was St.
Augustine (AD 354 430), who elaborated a just war doctrine, which was later adapted and explicated
by St. Thomas Aquinas (1225 74). According to these writers, a war is always judged by following
two criteria, which concern the reasons states have for fighting and the means they adopt. They made
a distinction between jus ad bellum, the justice of war, and jus in bello, justice in war. REF
Jus ad bellum refers to the legitimacy of going to war. Having a just cause and possessing the right
intention are part of the conditions in favour of a just war. It is generally assumed as just cause
defending oneself from an act of aggression, which is believed unjust. However, because of its open
endedness, the term aggression should be defined. It could refer to a physical injury (a violation of
territory), an offense (against national honour), a trade embargo (against economy), or even to a
person s prosperity (violation of social justice). Thus, the general consensus considers as only
sufficient reason for just cause an initiation of physical

Dying America s Body Image Analysis
Photoshop has many uses. It is used to design posters and create art. However, it has negative uses too.
For example, manipulating images. Manipulation using Photoshop to alter model s bodies in the
media negatively impacts society by creating an image that imposes an unrealistic body standard and
is the root cause of recent adolescent eating disorders. Peoples of all genders are impacted by the
modification of model s bodies. Whether it be one is not skinny enough or one does not have enough
muscle, it generates a frequent belief that one s body is not good enough. Manipulated photos in the
media influence the eyes that see it, including children. In an article entitled Is Photoshop Destroying
America s Body Image , Vivian Diller Ph.D. states that The AMA ( American Medical Association) is
just beginning to raise public awareness about the impact of image manipulation on childhood
development. They want us all to reflect upon the way in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, some argue that the removal of manipulated photos will make it harder for models, actors,
singers, and other performers because they then feel the pressure to alter their bodies to become
acceptable for the media. This is false for two reasons. The first reason is the fact that if photoshopped
images are not allowed in the media, or if they at least had to have a disclaimer, than it will make it
acceptable for more models and other performers to become a part of the business that they wish to
take part in because there no longer is a need to live up to unrealistic expectations and body image is
destroyed. Another validated reason is that when every body image is acceptable, then the people who
were the only acceptable models and other performers would have equal

Fire Safety Research Paper
Safety is a priority in the fire service. We must keep our personnel safe in order for them to provide
affective service to the citizens. Our actions, our training, and the equipment that we use, all play a
significant role in our overall safety. I have identified three items that will improve safety for our
crews, floatation devices, lighted traffic cones, and personal escape canisters.
First, floatation devices, life jackets, will protect our crews in water rescue attempts. It is our policy
that we do not enter moving water; however, recent training does allow us to enter standing water and
attempt rescues from the shore. In either of these scenarios, drowning is the ultimate safety hazard. We
have measures that we take to prevent us from falling into the water such as tying off with a tag line
and using a sounding device when we enter standing water. Be that as it may, the danger of drowning
is still a reality. By putting four floatation devices on every apparatus, we can potentially save the life
of a rescuer. The addition of floatation devices is a low cost, high value addition to improve safety.
Second, Lighted traffic cones are a cost effective way to increase the safety of personnel while
operating at night. We currently have ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Deprived on Sleep
It is important for everyone to get enough sleep, but many people often ignore it. If people do not get
enough sleep they may experience sleep deprivation. Sleep deprivation can have negative effects.
When people do not get enough sleep or less, they may feel crabby and unable to function as well as
they usually do the next day. Balancing work and parenting as a single parent in today s society is
tough. Juggling children, work, taking care of home, and cart the children to extracurricular activities
are a lot for one s plate. As single parent I had my share of sleepless nights as well, mostly when either
my children fall sick or when I work extra shift at work. The last time I remember when I had a
sleepless night was when both of these factors together came to hunt me. I agreed to work extra hours
at the hospital because the night shift secretary was unable to come into work. Although I had worked
a 12 hour shift, I still had enough energy to work at less five more hours that I had agreed too. At the
end of my shift I was ready for a hot shower and my warm bed to rest. My daughter came down with a
fever that night. She was vomiting, and could not keep any fluids down. My daughter was restless and
was only able to sleep an hour at a time. I wasn t really able to sleep at all because I was constantly
checking her temperature. Each time she vomited or even tossed and fussed in her sleep I was up with
her. Of course when the sun had risen I immediately took my daughter to the

Multicultural Nursing Care Essay
Multicultural Assignment
Transcultural nursing care knowledge is essential to provide culturally congruent nursing care to
patients from diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds (Hood, 2014). An important element of holistic
nursing care is the incorporation of sensitive cultural practices that meet the patients and their families
needs alike. For this assignment, I have chosen to research Japanese cultural health practices and their
relevance to nursing care.
The Japanese culture places high value in respect, family structure, ancestry, religious and spiritual
beliefs, and health care practices. The two main religious practices in Japan are Buddhism and Shinto.
As Tanabe (2010) explains, Shinto practices emphasizes cleanliness and purity and that spirit gods

others. Japanese medicinal practice Kampo, which has roots in Chinese medicine (CM) was greatly

care. In addition, Kampo practices focus on obtaining harmony between the individual and its

The Capitalist Class And The Proletariat Essay
Adam Smith and Karl Marx both examine the capitalist mode of production as an issue of central
theoretical concern. I will be addressing many issues regarding capitalism from both theorists that will
demonstrate the general theoretical orientation that each has towards the nature of capitalism and the
roles of the capitalist class and the proletariat. This includes the moral character of the capitalist class,
the tendency of capitalism towards crisis, the effects of the division of labour, and the permanence of
the system in a historical context. Further, I will also demonstrate why these issues are relevant today,
and how many of the arguments made by these theorists are still being used.
The first issue surrounding the nature of capitalism I will address is the moral character of the
capitalist class as perceived by Adam Smith and Karl Marx. The overall position that Adam Smith
adopts in the Wealth of Nations is that the pursuit of self interest for personal gain of the capitalist can
be beneficial for the general welfare of society, so long as it is channeled through the market rather
than through the interference of the state (Baumol 1976; McNally 1998). However, this does not
imply that the interests of the capitalist class should be the guiding interests of the market. Baumol
(1976) argues that Smith repeatedly attacks the personal morality of the capitalists, arguing that the
intentions of the individual should not determine the economic fate of society. Smith

Why Salary Caps Are Truly Unfair
The debates have gone on every sense the very first year free agency was introduced. I think after all
this paper is done I truly believe that I will be able to show you evidence on why salary caps are truly
unfair. So let s have some facts that prove my theory with facts from their lives. Most coaches can
look at talent and see potential at such a young age. When coaches see this they push Athletes to the
next level making them ready for the college. That s why you see kids pushing themselves so hard in
the gym, they think they can make it to the league. Look at it this way, in all sports except baseball,
the chances of going pro are less than 2%. So why pay these guys what they worked their whole entire
life for get paid, they honestly deserve it. Let s look at it this way, Professional athletes have worked
their entire life for everything they now have. Salary caps are not a problem in sports, this has been a
very heated debate throughout every year in sports. There s new free agents every single year, with
some of the potential who deserve more than 300 million dollars over the next 10 years. Then there s
some who don t even come close to making 1 million on a one year deal. Many people sit here and
could fire rapid shots on why salary caps should be established in sports. While others believe that this
could stop some people of what they should be making. Thats besides the point, I 100% believe that
salary caps should be abolished in pro sports. I have some great

Dwight D. Eisenhower s Fight Against Homosexuals
In 1953, Dwight D. Eisenhower became the 34th President of the Unite States. His main goal was to
keep pressure on the Soviet Union during the early stages of the Cold War. During his Presidency,
Eisenhower brought back many of the old traditional values and fiercely attacked homosexuality and
sexual immorality.
Born into a strong religious household, Eisenhower believed that sex offenders and homosexuals
posed a national security risk; therefore, they should not be allowed employment into any Government
positions. Eisenhower s administration claimed that because of their sexual orientation, homosexuals
were more susceptible to blackmail by a communist enemy. Because of that, on April of 1953,
Eisenhower issued Executive Order 10450 which revoked President Truman s 1947 Executive Order
9835. In this new order, Eisenhower charged the heads of all federal agencies, with the assistance of
the FBI, with investigating all federal employees to discover if they posed security risks. Also ... Show

America demanded that the other U.N. nations take the same stand against homosexuality. Britain,

wide stony plain with rare sandy stretches. There is a very stretched out form of wadis from the border

brief but heavy floods. The second major zone, is the rolling uplands. This zone is located between the

part of a larger area that extends westward into Syria, between the two rivers and into Turkey. The

In the essay In Praise of Margins Ian Fraizer upholds the importance of margins as a higher sort of

Margins could be visiting a park, a friend s house, a dance studio or even a football field, also doing

As they told themselves a frequent activity was exploring and the reader understand this was marginal
when he mentions they were all easily distracted from their exploration with the sight of the perfect
ice to stomp on. Fraizer explains these distractions to extend the understanding of margins and that
they don t require uninterrupted focus because a person doesn t have something to accomplish, a
marginal activity could result in another marginal activity that could have an outcome. I consider
watching movies a marginal activity for many, people go to the theater to simply relax and get their
mind off of other things. Movies let a person engulf themselves in the lives of others, fall in love all
over again with a romance, laugh away all problems with a comedy, or feel a rush of adrenaline with
an action movie. Films similar to these can create inspiration in people to find love, to become a
director, even to become a writer to create a script that will affect people as the film affected them.
Margins being without any purpose unintentionally result with a person having a purpose every
purpose filled activity we pursue in the woods began as just fooling around . Through observing his
kids actions when they encountered a ditch Fraizer remembers his personal experiences with margins.

of the situation United States guards caused against Iraqi detainees. Under Bush s presidency, United
States soldiers brought physical abuse and humiliation upon the Abu Ghraib Prison. Szegedy Maszak
briefly analyzes the situation and compares the abuse to further scientific experiments in which test
obedience. One of the experiments was the topic of another article titled, The Stanford Prison

In his article The Social Contract and Human Rights, Grant effectively shares the importance of
human rights to society. He believes even meager obedience to inadequate authority is unethical by
stating, When obedience is either enforced through conquest or slavery, or is simply the result of blind
and unthinking compliance with the law, there is no free, intelligent, and conscious choice involved
(Grant 18). In situations like the Abu Ghraib Prison Scandal, Grant would confirm human rights given
to the guards were lacking, which allowed them to conform with the social pressures of law
enforcement. While testing obedience in his experiment, Zimbardo encountered a contrary thought.
For his specific experiment, the subjects were assigned consent paperwork and monetary reward for
participation. The right to discontinue one s experience was given; however, specific instructions to
perform the roles were not. After he distributed nearly zero guidelines to his experimental guards,
Zimbardo discovered, ...the guards became more aggressive, prisoners became more passive

The Seven Tips For Effective Business Writing
Coherence is one of the seven tips for effective business writing. It allows flow of thoughts to be
logical and easy to follow. Analyzing purpose, examining reader s need and outlining before writing
are some of the ways to make writing coherent. In addition to these, there are several other techniques
that can help to structure effective paragraphs and essays.
One way to write coherently is to write with unity. This can be achieved by establishing a main idea
and summarizing it into a single sentence called topic sentence. Any sentences or paragraphs that are
irrelevant to topic sentence should be omitted. This will make writing unified and coherent.
In addition, summary sentences can be used to make writing more coherent. Summary sentences are
usually present near the beginning of a document and they highlight the main ideas present in the
documents. In such documents, there is a separate, formal summary section emphasizing main ideas
that are relevant to readers. Each of these ideas is then placed in a separate paragraph and each of
these paragraphs begins with a topic sentence. Summary sentences are also placed in the conclusion.
However, it should act as a reminder and should not sound repetitive.
The principle discussed above is based on deductive structure where reader s need is placed first.

Abraham Lincoln s Failure
In most people s minds, the notion of failure is never a pleasant thought. However, think again, for
certain benefits reside within the crushing blow of defeat. If one experiences failure and finds a way to
get back up, they will emerge stronger than before.
Abraham Lincoln, the sixteenth president of the United States of America, experienced some setbacks
while he tried his hand at a variety of professions, which motivated him to work even harder towards
his legislative goals. At one point, he worked as a sales clerk at a shop which soon closed down. The
following year, he ran in the in the Illinois House of Representatives election and lost. He later made

Viking History and Culture
Viking Culture Viking history and culture have been depicted in many movies, television series, and
stories. Vikings are commonly known as barbarians that raid villages and intimidate others with huge
ships with dragon heads, and horned helmets. This information is based on facts, but has been
distorted and exaggerated over many years and tales. Viking history spans from the years 780 until
1100, which is the time span of the Viking raids. Not every Scandinavian was a Viking; Vikings were
known as the men that conducted raids and bloody battles. The old definition of Viking was
synonymous with the term pirate. The modern definition is relevant to the Scandinavian medieval
culture, to include farming, crafting and trading. The people from the north, Norsemen, lived in
villages and on dispersed farms in various regions. The Norwegian Vikings were from Iceland and
Ireland. The Danish Vikings were from France and Britain. The Swedish Vikings were from Russia.
Regardless of region, Vikings are addressed as one group of people. Written documentation from this
era, sagas specify the region of Vikings being recorded. The Vikings government was unlike any other
at that time. In fact, there was no emperor, king, or lord. The only sagas found about Viking law were
written late in the 10th century in Iceland. The people were governed by consensus, and legal issues
were resolved by compromise and negotiation. This doesn t mean that feuds didn t

Compromise of 1877 was written to settle the result of the election of 1876 and ended Reconstruction.
Republicans agreed to get rid of troops in the South and give money to build railroads for the South.

David Davis was the one who broke the tie and the Republicans abandoned racial equality. Civil
Rights Cases (1883) made the Civil Rights Act of 1875 unconstitutional and made African American s
life harsher. 5. Great Railroad Strike of 1877 cut wages of railroad workers by 10 percent, so the
workers stopped working. President Hayes sent troops to stop the workers from stop working and

The artist creates a focal point with the only woman whose face viewers cannot see. The women s
dress appears to have caught on fire and produces luminosity around the chandelier, forming a shadow
within the corners of the room, which brings the viewers eyes from the main woman, up to the
chandelier, as shown in the picture to the left. Heffernan s paintings express her untamed imagination
with majestic fantasy, dream like subjects, yet she paints with a very classic technique. When I first
viewed The Self Portrait as Wunderkabinett, Michelangelo s Sistine Chapel came to mind.
Michelangelo illustrates the desire and describes the oneness that humans anticipate with God through
salvation. The artists painting technique is traditional, with the sensible and realistic proportions of the
human body, the distinguishing lines, the application of shadow, the intricate detail on every object

My Views On The United States
It was with ecstatic delight and tears of joy that I realized I was finally getting the chance to move to

was pinned on my mind as the best life that one can have in the world. But my main idea behind the
admiration of living in the United States was motivated by my desire to achieve academic excellence.
My goal was set, and my mind was fixed with sheer enthusiasm to attain the target. Since birth, the

After close to two months in school, I was not doing well at all. I was used to memorization classes in

English was a different animal that I had to learn how to deal with. The instructors at school would

The Benefits Of Human Gut Microbiome
Human gut Microbiome: An in depth look into the benefits and drawbacks of the unicellular
organisms that live inside us.
Bacteria are unicellular organisms that can live in the harshest of conditions. Bacteria can be found in
volcanoes, the North Pole and even the human digestive system. Bacteria that live in the human
digestive system are called gut microbiome and they have many effects on the human body. This essay
will explore the human gut microbiome, explain how they can be beneficial and detrimental to the
human health and give examples for each of the two cases.
Gut microbiomes are beneficial to our diet. Healthy microbiomes protect the body from obesity. Food
is broken down in the colon by those microbes which provides them with energy to produce helpful by
products which affect our mood, metabolism rates and boost our immune system. (Robinson, 2016).

Throughout your teenage years, I m sure that you would have done some questionable things here and

Writer Reflective Essay
The Writer Reflective Essay Writing is a long journey. You start to learn the basics of writing but then
start to proceed to learn new skills to become a better writer. But in the journey you will go through
ups and downs but you can always reflect on them. The Struggles I´ve faced as a writer this year is my
grammar and my organization. My grammar issues still came along, Ive always had this issue in the
beginning. I would mistakenly use past tense words instead of present tense words. So what I had to
do to not make this mistake again was to know when to use past tense words and present tense words,
plus I would search up examples. As soon as I got into it,

Argumentative Essay On Anti Depressants
Depression is a serious mental disorder that may be displayed by major episodes of sadness,
restlessness, and loss of interest. Depression has several symptoms such as excessive sleep, increased
or loss of appetite, aches, cramps, insomnia, and fatigue. It can affect anyone of all ages and may not
be recognizable for those who are experiencing it. A medication called anti depressants helps treat
depression by altering the serotonin receptors levels. There are several types of anti depressant
medications such as Abilify, Celexa, Aplenzin, Asendin, and many more. There are individuals that
may argue that anti depressants are an over prescribed medications. They believe that this medication
can affect the patient s mental status and inhibit self control with this addictive drug. On the other
hand, the opposition may argue that anti depressants are not overly prescribed and that it should not be
problematic because it is an accessible, helpful, and a quicker treatment. The debate of whether anti
depressants are an over prescribed medication has been an ongoing controversial issue as evidenced
by statements of supporters and those in opposition.
According to Wehrwein (2011), statistics usage of antidepressants demonstrated that 23% of women
between ages of 40 to 50 take antidepressants as compared to other age groups. Wehrwein mentioned
that 14% of non Hispanic white people use antidepressants more often compared to 4% of Hispanics
and 3% of Mexican Americans.

pointed us in the right direction to find Heritage. We spoke to a residential leader who kindly showed
us around the dorm and told us how amazing the campus is. From that second forward, I had started to
fall in love with Tarleton. Orientation soon approached and introduced me to Duck Camp. When I
originally heard what Duck camp was about, teaching the heritage and traditions of Tarleton, I was
exhilarated to leave that second to learn, socialize, and start my transition from high school to college.
Before Duck Camp arrived, one of my TTMs, Wacey Horton, sent me a text saying he will be my
daddy duck for Duck Camp one. To be completely honest, I was a little weirded out when I saw him
say daddy duck but it made me laugh and all the more excited for Duck Camp. Wacey made my Duck
Camp experience something I will never forget for the rest of my life; he made it fun, introduced all of
us to new people, established friendships between all of us, and has brought me entirely out of my
shell I had enclosed myself in during high school. Wacey taught me how to have more confidence, to
have real school spirit, and how to yell my lungs out like me life depended on it. Thanks to an

Financial institutions haven t been immune to the effects of this change. In fact, the international nature of financial institutions makes them particularly vulnerable to change. This paper addresses three issues caused by the globalization of the international monetary community. Like a tornado on the horizon, globalization is threatening to reform international currency into a twisted shape unlike anything we have ever seen. This paper addresses some of the major currency issues facing international financial organizations today. First the success and growing pains of the Euro will be discussed, with an emphasis on the implication of the Euro s success on world currency. Next this paper will look at the devaluation of currency. The paper will also analyze what makes devaluation successful, and how devaluations are sometimes simply legalized theft from a country s money holders. The final issue brought up by this paper is the rising trend of dollarization. Shaky economies are using the dollar to stabilize their currency, and more is being discovered about the implications of this practice all the time. The international currency community is facing many opportunities and challenges, a few of which are listed above. The film is set in modern day New York and features Jean Reno as Leon, a professional hitman, and twelve year old Natalie Portman as Mathilda, a neighbor of Leon in an apartment complex. The film is, despite the tremendous age gap of the two characters, is a rather sensitive love story. A film that is about people who have seen sights most people would never want to see, but need each other for emotional stability. The film introduces Leon as an ironic character, as his love for milk is visually also very ironic, in contrast to his role as a master hitman. Milk represents Leon s paternal involvement for Mathilda and his wholesomeness. Milk itself also represents those qualities such as: nurture, care and a fluid of life. It carries a symbol as a fluid of innocence, in the case of the film, it s symbolic towards both Mathilda and Leon s childhood. In many ways Leon is portrayed as an more immature figure than Mathilda. Leon is a middle aged man who does know how to read or write, and finds extraordinary pleasure from the most unornamented forms of entertainment, nor does Leon have any desires of sex or relationships. 1Leon goes by to one rule no women no children, regardless of earning 5,000$ per contract that is given to him. As a dedicated cleaner, Leon without doubt does not want change in his life, but then as Mathilda realizes that Leon s profession is a hitman, her mission becomes clear, to take revenge on Stansfield, for the death of her little brother. The music in film is The Dark Side of Time, the theme from La Femme Nikita, about a girl training to be an assassin. Mathilda desires to learn how to clean and is willing to work under Leon. • 5. Just War Theory, Using The Gulf War The following essay will present the concept of just war theory, using the Gulf War as a case study in order to understand the concreteness of the doctrine. The choice of this case is due to the various issues regarding the application of just war theory to modern conflict, which will be discussed in the concluding part of the paper. Just war tradition has its origins in the fourth century AD. The first propagandist of these ideas was St. Augustine (AD 354 430), who elaborated a just war doctrine, which was later adapted and explicated by St. Thomas Aquinas (1225 74). According to these writers, a war is always judged by following two criteria, which concern the reasons states have for fighting and the means they adopt. They made a distinction between jus ad bellum, the justice of war, and jus in bello, justice in war. REF Jus ad bellum refers to the legitimacy of going to war. Having a just cause and possessing the right intention are part of the conditions in favour of a just war. It is generally assumed as just cause defending oneself from an act of aggression, which is believed unjust. However, because of its open endedness, the term aggression should be defined. It could refer to a physical injury (a violation of territory), an offense (against national honour), a trade embargo (against economy), or even to a person s prosperity (violation of social justice). Thus, the general consensus considers as only sufficient reason for just cause an initiation of physical ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Manipulation using Photoshop to alter model s bodies in the media negatively impacts society by creating an image that imposes an unrealistic body standard and is the root cause of recent adolescent eating disorders. Peoples of all genders are impacted by the modification of model s bodies. Our actions, our training, and the equipment that we use, all play a significant role in our overall safety. I have identified three items that will improve safety for our crews, floatation devices, lighted traffic cones, and personal escape canisters. First, floatation devices, life jackets, will protect our crews in water rescue attempts. It is our policy that we do not enter moving water; however, recent training does allow us to enter standing water and attempt rescues from the shore. In either of these scenarios, drowning is the ultimate safety hazard. We have measures that we take to prevent us from falling into the water such as tying off with a tag line and using a sounding device when we enter standing water. Be that as it may, the danger of drowning is still a reality. By putting four floatation devices on every apparatus, we can potentially save the life of a rescuer. • 10. The Capitalist Class And The Proletariat Essay Adam Smith and Karl Marx both examine the capitalist mode of production as an issue of central theoretical concern. I will be addressing many issues regarding capitalism from both theorists that will demonstrate the general theoretical orientation that each has towards the nature of capitalism and the roles of the capitalist class and the proletariat. This includes the moral character of the capitalist class, the tendency of capitalism towards crisis, the effects of the division of labour, and the permanence of the system in a historical context. Further, I will also demonstrate why these issues are relevant today, and how many of the arguments made by these theorists are still being used. The first issue surrounding the nature of capitalism I will address is the moral character of the capitalist class as perceived by Adam Smith and Karl Marx. The overall position that Adam Smith adopts in the Wealth of Nations is that the pursuit of self interest for personal gain of the capitalist can be beneficial for the general welfare of society, so long as it is channeled through the market rather than through the interference of the state (Baumol 1976; McNally 1998). However, this does not imply that the interests of the capitalist class should be the guiding interests of the market. Baumol (1976) argues that Smith repeatedly attacks the personal morality of the capitalists, arguing that the intentions of the individual should not determine the economic fate of society. Smith ... I think after all this paper is done I truly believe that I will be able to show you evidence on why salary caps are truly unfair. So let s have some facts that prove my theory with facts from their lives. Most coaches can look at talent and see potential at such a young age. When coaches see this they push Athletes to the next level making them ready for the college. That s why you see kids pushing themselves so hard in the gym, they think they can make it to the league. Look at it this way, in all sports except baseball, the chances of going pro are less than 2%. So why pay these guys what they worked their whole entire life for get paid, they honestly deserve it. Let s look at it this way, Professional athletes have worked their entire life for everything they now have. Salary caps are not a problem in sports, this has been a very heated debate throughout every year in sports. There s new free agents every single year, with some of the potential who deserve more than 300 million dollars over the next 10 years. Then there s some who don t even come close to making 1 million on a one year deal. Many people sit here and could fire rapid shots on why salary caps should be established in sports. Born into a strong religious household, Eisenhower believed that sex offenders and homosexuals posed a national security risk; therefore, they should not be allowed employment into any Government positions. • 19. The Seven Tips For Effective Business Writing Coherence is one of the seven tips for effective business writing. It allows flow of thoughts to be logical and easy to follow. Analyzing purpose, examining reader s need and outlining before writing are some of the ways to make writing coherent. In addition to these, there are several other techniques that can help to structure effective paragraphs and essays. One way to write coherently is to write with unity. This can be achieved by establishing a main idea and summarizing it into a single sentence called topic sentence. Any sentences or paragraphs that are irrelevant to topic sentence should be omitted. This will make writing unified and coherent. In addition, summary sentences can be used to make writing more coherent. Summary sentences are usually present near the beginning of a document and they highlight the main ideas present in the documents. In such documents, there is a separate, formal summary section emphasizing main ideas that are relevant to readers. Each of these ideas is then placed in a separate paragraph and each of these paragraphs begins with a topic sentence. Summary sentences are also placed in the conclusion. However, it should act as a reminder and should not sound repetitive. The principle discussed above is based on deductive structure where reader s need is placed first. Readers are interested in recommendation and findings rather than the process. Hence, this structure requires to put research findings first and then the process. However, ...
