Pros And Cons Of Free Healthcare In The United States
Nico Flores
12/9/17
English 100
Healthcare In The US Throughout the modern era of the United States, one constant issue in
society is free healthcare. This issue is not just an issue in the United States, but also in the whole
world. Many other countries have made drastic changes in order to fix or at least attempt to fix this
issue in their own country, but the U.S. has not done very much. Many Americans believe that free
healthcare is something that tax paying citizens should be entitled to. These citizens of the United
States ask why and how do many other countries have free healthcare, but the U.S. does not. These
citizens ask this because they consider the fact that the United States is a very powerful country, but
there are many other poorer countries around the world that have free healthcare.
Free healthcare is medical care that is paid for that gives free of charge primary services to all
citizens of the county, regardless of the citizens income or wealth. Currently in 2017, over 50
countries have free healthcare and several of those countries also have universal healthcare, which
offers coverage in all medical situations to 90% of their citizens. Overtime the goal of the world
should be for everyone to have universal healthcare, but the United States tends to support private
healthcare. Private healthcare directly takes money out of citizens pockets and makes them pay for
it. Although one is more expensive compared to the other both types of healthcare have

Motor Vehicle Accidents And Economic Stress
Motor Vehicle Accidents and Economic Stress In today s society, motor vehicle accidents can
cause serious economic stress on the average U.S. citizen. In America today, the average legal
driving age can start out at the age of eighteen. Unless those new drivers have had plenty of time
behind the wheel, they are subject to a higher risk of a motor vehicle accident that could result in
economic stress. Economic stress can come in all varieties. It can range from an influx in
vehicle insurance premiums and medical bills to the physiological stress of losing a vehicle in a
multi vehicle homestead; as well as the stress that can come from ones career or workplace. With
the economic state of America, an influx in insurance premiums and payments can seriously hit
the pocket. Motor vehicle accidents are the leading causes of traumatic injuries worldwide
(Diedericks 2). Motor vehicle accidents can cause traumatic stress, severe injury, and can even
cause serious debt. If the average U.S. citizen were to better understand what a motor vehicle
accident is and understand the leading causes of those motor vehicle, it would help in mitigating
the volume of accidents and economic stress. What is a motor vehicle accident? Many would use
this terminology of accident to not come across as harsh as others would take words like collision
or incident (Dennis). The term collision is used to define objects that come together with solid
impact (Dennis). An accident is defined as a sequence of

Ignatian Religion Paper
The Examen, a bi daily routine for the Jesuits, connects the priests with their subconscious and
conscious minds, as well as with God. Saint Ignatius, the founder of the Jesuits or Society of
Jesus, created this daily examination of prayerful reflection. Much like the Act of Contrition said
before confession by the lines of content, the Examen helps one better understand themselves. In
the Jesuit order, the reflective prayer is said twice a day, which splits the day into three periods
or parts. This prayer, said once in the morning and later in the evening, the prayer focusing not
only on one s faults but on what one did correctly or improved upon, venerating hard work.
Because this prayer was created by Ignatius himself, it reflects essential values of the original
Jesuits. Although the prayer helps one receive and perceive God, it s... Show more content on

Before participating in Ignatian spirituality, one must determine who they truly are, why they do
the things they do, and how they might react in theoretical situations. As said in To the Greater

spirituality bears the mark of his personality in unique and distinguishing ways , meaning the
heart and core of Jesuit spirituality is rooted in the very essence of our and Ignatius personality.
During the time of Ignatius, a Jesuit would have to do this through rigorous meditation and self
examination but now we have special tests like the Myers Briggs Personality Test. Because
everyone has a different personality, one might ponder why a personality test similar to the Myers
Briggs Personality Test would give any insight, considering there s limited definitions to describe 7
billion people. However these tests are key, they give valuable information about one s

The Theory Of An Organization
Organizations are groups of people working together to achieve a common goal. The organizations
theories correlate together in order for organizations to sustain functionality. In all organizations
there is a common unit of power that directs the organization toward a common goal. Within the
Department of Health and Human Resources, the source of power is the commissioner, and the
direction of the department is to have zero child fatalities and maintain safety of children.
The classical model focuses on the structure of the organization. The decision making starts at the
top, with the person in power and trickles down to the employees in the organizations. Hence, the
person in power has the authority and decision making capability. This is also known as
bureaucracy, which occurs within a government institution such as; when meetings occur, the
commissioner will make the final decisions about goals and how to implement those goals. All
organizations recognize that decisions have to be made. The decision theory is similar to the
classical model in how decisions are made and who makes the decisions. The person in power
makes the decision, and the ultimate outcome is to achieve a common goal. Decisions are made on
rationale when possible, but achieving a perfect goal is not the ultimate goal. When conflict occurs
it is embraced, and organization work to accommodate or even coerce members to achieve common
goals. Human relations theory is derived from the machine

Confucianism And The Conflicts Of The Han Dynasty Of...
The Han Dynasty of Ancient China was one of the most prominent and long lasting societies of the
time. However, they were not untouched by the ravages of the world, and despite their Confucius
roots, there was a war to be fought. The Salt and Iron debate is an example of how the
Confucianism of the time affected the strategy of the war. Should the government stick to their
principles, or protect their empire? When is the time to say enough is enough ?
In order to understand the debate, we must understand those who are arguing. The Scholars spent
years studying the word and policy of Confucius, then toured China spreading his ideas to every
household. The Confucius Scholars opposed the Salt and Iron policies of the Chinese government.

They asked why their people should have to suffer if it wasn t necessary. The bureaucrats were
also beginning to consider the possibility of fighting back, and to do so they would need soldier
and costly weaponry. Fighting back was becoming more attractive because of the severe cost of
bribing the Xiongnu, who were taking goods like gold, silk, and Princesses. There was a major
loss happening, and the only way to keep the country floating was through the monopolies. The
bureaucrats try explaining this to the Scholars, but are vehemently argued against because the trade
is steeped in greed.
In my opinion, the bureaucrats make a stronger case for the continuation of the Salt and Iron
monopolies. There must be an army, and walls to protect the country. If they aren t going to
fight, like the Scholars want, then there also needs to be money for bribes. If there is no money,
there is no way to protect the people of China. It is a situation where you have decided if your
morals come before the safety of those you care about. How far are you willing to go to protect
your people? The Scholars aren t willing to go all the way, and people will die because of it. Not
everyone has the same beliefs, so displaying them will not save you. The Scholars did not consider
the real harm that comes to the citizens when they cannot express themselves fully, not to mention
the harm

Congenital Lymphangiectasis
What is Congenital Pulmonary Lymphangiectasis?
Congenital Pulmonary Lymphangiectasis is a developmental disorder caused by abnormally dilated
lymphatic vessels within the lung tissue. Congenital Pulmonary Lymphangiectasis is divided into
two classifications; primary and secondary. Primary Congenital Pulmonary Lymphangiectasis refers
to a problem that occurred in development of the fetal lungs.
In order to understand the significance of abnormal, we must first understand normal. Normal
development of the lungs begins on day 26 of gestation and continues until term in five stages. It s
important to note that the stages are not concretely consecutive, because the second stage actually
begins before the first one is complete. The first stage ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Chyle is a fatty fluid absorbed into the lymphatics from the digestive system. It s accumulation in
the pleural cavity leads to a chylous pleural effusion. The pleural effusion reduces the ability of the
lungs to expand and therefore reduce the amount of oxygen than can be taken in. This leads us to
the tachypnea. Tachypnea is an abnormal increase in respiratory rate. Low arterial oxygen
concentration can lead to increased respiratory rate by stimulation of chemoreceptors. The
mechanism not definite, but it s believed that low oxygen is detected by glomus cells with in the
carotid or aortic bodies and causes stimulation of the nerve endings because these so called glomus
cells of oxygen sensitive potassium channels that become inactivated the blood oxygen levels
decrease. There is a strong stimulation of the chemoreceptors which in turn increase respiratory rate.
Another reason for increase is respiratory rate could be the acidosis that occurs as a symptom for
this disease. The acidosis is more specifically known as respiratory acidosis because it is caused
by the accumulation of carbon dioxide which is essentially trapped or not given adequate means of
escape due to decreased lung function. The decreased blood pH also indicates an increase in
hydrogen ion concentration. This increase in hydrogen ion concentration or the increase in carbon
dioxide concentration excites the

Where the Homeless Live in Canada
While a vacant residence or commercial building may not be the best conditions for the average
person to live in, it has become the norm for individuals that may prefer to live homeless and not
follow the traditional lifestyle that is expected in society. The subculture groups known as squatters
have taken a criminal offense of trespassing and have established a way of living that allows a
homeless individual the rights to a residence without going through the process of legally
purchasing a home. The question lies, why have these homeless individuals chosen to take
residency in a nonconformist ways, how do they live in such penurious ways and is there method to
their madness?
Historically, squatters were recognized in Australia where they lived on a large area of Crown
land in order to graze livestock. While originally they had no permissible right to the land, they
gained its custom by inheriting the land by being the first Europeans in the area and not leaving the
property. The idea of squatting in vacant residential and commercial buildings became popular all
over the world for all ages, genders and races that a squatting community had been developed.
The squatting community has tips and tricks that are known and passed on through word of mouth
or by professional housing advocates. An online video found on squattheplanet.com provided
helpful information on the how to be an effective squatter. Safety is the priority of a prospective
squatter, and it must be considered

The People s Republic of China is a socialist country led by the working class, based on the worker
peasant alliance and practicing people s democratic centralism. The socialist system is the primary
system in China.
The Constitution
The Constitution is the fundamental law of the state. It usually stipulates a country s social system
and basic principles of state system, the basic principles of activities and organizations of state
departments, and the basic rights and obligations of its citizens. Some constitutions also legalize the
national flag, anthem, emblem, capital, and other systems that the government believes touches the

interpreting the Constitution and supervising its enforcement, enacting and amending laws with the
exception of those which should be enacted by the NPC, and report to the NPC on every piece

The basic functions and powers of the NPC are to amend the Constitution, to supervise the
enforcement of the Constitution, to enact and amend basic laws covering crucial matters, and to
decide on the major national leaders. Strategic development plans for the national economy and
social affairs have been vital towards advancing China s social progress. But these plans are only
in effect after approval from the NPC. The law in China stipulates the major state leaders, such as
the President and the Chairman of the Standing Committee of the NPC, must be nominated and
elected by the NPC. The Premier of the State Council and Ministers of the government must also be
appointed by the NPC. The NPC can also remove the elected Chairman of NPC Standing
Committee, the President and the Premier through lawful procedures.

Parking Area Controversy
The parking area should be spacious
The parking area is a peting place where the vehicle stops and is abandoned by its owner for a
moment or longer. For example when we are going to college then our vehicle must be parked
first and then after college we can take it back. Strange is not it, when we go to college while
bringing the vehicle into the classroom? Therefore, every place or building must have a parking
space.
In this day and age, almost everyone has a vehicle. Of the number of existing vehicles prove that
the parking area should be wide especially campus environment. Why should parking area be wide?
First, so that lecturers, employees, campus guests, and students can park their vehicles in the
parking lot that is provided without

Catheter Related Blood Stream Infection
Catheter related blood stream infection is very common to patients receiving haemodialysis
treatment. Although catheters provide vascular access, they put the patients at risk for developing
local and systemic infections. Dialysis CRBSI can be obtained during insertion in the operating
theatre and handling of the catheterby the health care team post insertion. Causes include improper
technique in hand washing, breaking principles of aseptic technique when managing catheters and
contaminated supplies. It is quite tough to describe and to put a figure on the occurrence of dialysis
CRBSI despite the presence of standardised procedures in every institution. One more concern
would be the systems for reporting cases of CRBSI among dialysis... Show more content on

The appraisals ran for four weeks during September 2010 in all dialysis units mentioned earlier.
The outcome of the audits on clinical practice which involved forty occasions of CVDC
procedures revealed differences in routine practice. Nurses differ greatly in maintaining
cleanliness of work area before opening the sterile supplies, preserving the dressing set s sterility
and if proper hand scrubbing was either finished or not before touching the catheter. There were
also instances when either the patient or the nurse coughs and talks while the catheter was out in
the open. Documentation audit results which included charts of fifty five patients with CVDC
demonstrated significant contrast of medical records in the bedside to the electronic database in
the unit. It appears that logging of insertions and removals were done obediently on the
electronic database compared to bedside medical records which accounts to merely 10 percent
of catheter site appearance recorded and just 55 percent on documented CVC catheter care for
each treatment. Based from the end results, the working party devised a standardised routine for
managing central venous dialysis catheter in order to decrease differences in practise as well as
to warrant evidence based practice. A standard haemodialysis treatment form has also been
adjusted to include a part wherein the observations regarding the catheter exit site as well as
dressing could be examined and recorded in every session of dialysis.

Advantages Of Composite Materials
2.Composite Materials
2.1.Introduction
Composites are materials consisting of two or more chemically distinct constituents having a clear
interface separating them and with properties which cannot be obtained by any constituent material
working individually [1].
One of the modern definitions of composite materials was given after 1990 and it says that: A
modern composite material is a system formed of at least two constituents, in which the fiber
volume fraction is at least 10% and in which the mechanical property values of one component are
at least 5 times higher than the values of properties of the second component. [1].
As an example, While a high strength fiber can have a tensile strength of 3500 MPa or more, a
typical polymeric matrix normally has a tensile strength of only 35 to 70 MPa [2].

Gender, Employment, And Career Advancement
In the US, there have been considerable efforts to bring gender equity in the domains of education,
employment and career advancement. However, several occupations are still highly gender
segregated (ACLU, 2013). It has been found that the choices of such occupations could be shaped
during early childhood through gendered socialization. Playing with dolls is an important factor in
the gendersocialization process. Dolls boost the cultural ideals that are linked to the place of girls
in the society. Barbie dolls tend to send negative images to young girls since they illuminate a
fancy sexual figure that seems unattainable (Grade, Ward Hyde, 2008). There is limited data on the
negative effects this doll has on the gender socialization of girls. This experiment seeks to assess
whether experimentally controlling girls interaction with Barbie dolls when compared to a neutral
doll influences their developmental ideas about who they want to be in the future.
Gender is a socially constructed concept and it denotes the behavior and characteristics associated
with either men or women (Sherman Zurbriggen, 2014). Different studies have shown that the
comprehension and acceptance of gender roles commence at a very early age (Sherman
Zurbriggen, 2014). Playing with dolls or toys has been found to influence gender roles in kids.
Play with Barbie dolls is a significant source of gendered socialization because it conveys a
sexualized adult to young girls. However, research focusing on

Plot Summary: The story starts off with an unnamed narrator pondering his environment while
looking out of his window at the city he lives in. He describes a fog that surrounds the town as
that of a smoke like nature. Many men are walking along the streets covered in soot, smoke, and
they were covered in black. The narrator goes on to describe that they were working in the metal
factories all night, slaving over boiling cauldrons of metal and that during the day, they normally
are in a state of drunkenness and infamy. There is smoke coming from the chimneys of the iron
foundries, which is where all the smoke and fog came from. The unnamed narrator goes on to

Theme Of Flashback In A Rose For Emily
A Rose for Emily is a story that happens in the south in the state of Mississippi, the author William
Faulkner presents a story of a woman that has been a monument, and that has fallen. Faulkner s
titular character raised as Grierson that has power and a famous surname in the south. After a death
of a loved one, Miss Emily life becomes one with the lovely house that she lives. The titular
characterhas not lived up to what the townspeople expectation are. Miss Emily being frozen in
time gives a foundation to flashbacks in A Rose for Emily to the point that Faulkner excites the
readers by flashbacks.
William Faulkner s decline of chronological order delivers s an impulse to how the story A Rose
for Emily is so filled with enthusiasm and becomes an exciting piece of literature.
The none chronological effect jumps at the reader at the start of the story when it starts with when
Miss Emily Grierson died (Faulkner 1). The readers learn the story of Emily s through flashbacks.
The flashback happens time to time on the play itself. The readers learn the story by knowing the
first thing that the protagonist or the leading character died. Some readers would talk about on
why Faulkner let the main character die surprisingly early. Yes, there are stories about that the
protagonist is dying, but the readers do not get to know that they die most likely until the end of
the story. For example, would be Hamlet dying at the end scene or like Romeo and Juliet, Julius

Theory X, Theory Y
Theory X, Theory Y by Douglas McGregor is a motivation theory. Douglas McGregor is a social
psychologist and applied two sets of assumptions to the organizational structure called Theory X
and Theory Y. His theory is based on managerial views of human beings. In his book, The Human
Side of Enterprise, he outlined a new role for managers. He stated that managers should assist
subordinates in reaching their full potential, rather than commanding and controlling. Theory X is
negative and Theory Y can be stated as the opposite, positive. Douglas concluded that managers
shaped their behavior towards workers based on either the X or Y views.
Theory X presumes that average employees dislike work, are lazy, dislike responsibility, and must
be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Theory X and Y call for managers to examine their assumptions about human nature and see how
these models lead to managerial practices. These assumptions will be reflected in management
attitudes toward employees, the kind and amount of participation they allow, and the outcomes they
expect. The strength of McGregor s theory is its significance. When McGregor formulated his
theory, companies competed on their ability to mass produce goods. Today, however, paying
attention to the human aspect is a requirement if any organization. Without a powerfully motivated,
highly skilled, self reliant human resource, organizations do not stand a chance to survive, much
less compete. McGregor s theory provides the solution to problems related to the human aspect of
an organization.
Some of the weaknesses in McGregor s Theory X and Theory Y theory are that there is only so
much money that can be offered as motivation and only so much control that can be applied.
People change and so do motivators. McGregor states that a satisfied need no longer motivates.
This theory has no evidence to support Theory X or Theory Y. There s no validity in the
assumption that managers who modify their actions or behaviors will lead to more motivated
workers (textbook citation p177). It is part of the manager s job to exercise control and influence,
and there are situations in which this

Christina Rossetti Influences
Christina Rossetti was born in London on 1830. She grew up in the heart of the Pre Raphaelite
movement. This movement was looked at as a break from the old conventional art and a radical
and revolutionary style of the arts. Her work was directly influenced by the movement she would
often draw influence for some of her poems from artwork from the movement. Her work followed
the manifesto by testing the conventions of art and pushing the boundaries with her poetry. She had
recurring bouts of depression and a lifelong sense of sinfulness. Another doctor speculated that she

When read straightforward it can be seen as a Christian allegory that reenacts the temptation of
Adam and Eve. Given her strong religious devotion this theory is popular among critics. Goblin
market contains many parallels to the bible and other religious symbols There is a an offer of

it as being a part of him, an extension of himself. Rossetti supports this theory through Lizzie s

is not uncommon for Christina to promote sisterhood and female empowerment in her poetry. The
fact that the sisters are endangered by a male goblin only to be saved by the strength of sisterhood
speaks to how important sisterhood was to Rossetti. Marxists critics have highlighted that the poem
has a distinct separation of the commercial and domestic spheres. The marketplace where the
sisters attempt to do business is designed to make females into a commodity to bought, sold or

This article seeks to determine if alcohol hand sanitizers are as effective as
antiseptic handwashing at reducing or eliminating health care associated infections in a
neonatal intensive care unit. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Atlanta,
GA, recommends use of waterless alcohol hand products in lieu of traditional
handwashing for patient care, but there is little data demonstrating the impact of this
recommendation on health associated infections.

Numerous studies have confirmed the efficacy of alcohol based products, reported
microbicidal effects of hand sanitizer containing 61% ethanol and emollients (ALC) as
good or superior to those of other antiseptics. Several studies have shown better removal
of methicillin resistant staphylococcus aureus or vancomycin resistant enterococci from
the hands of health care workers by ALC when compared with antiseptic detergent
containing 2% chlorhexidine gluconate (CHG). A recent study by Pittet,, J.M., showed

Gpr Structure
The understanding and studying of the GPCR structure is very important for designing the right
drugs. Studies have shown that some of the GPCRs are not pРѕtential drug targets because their
physiological function cannot be related to disease. Such GPCRs include the sensРѕry (olfactory,
taste) receptРѕrs and thus, leave 369 GPCRs that are pРѕtential drug targets (Gloriam et al., 2007).
46 of these are being targeted successfully by drugs the rhodopsin , secretin and glutamate like
receptor families. ОІ adrenergic, angiotensin II and vasopressin receptors are examples of GPCRs
that are lРѕcated in the membranes of cardiac cells and play key role in regulatiРѕn of the cardiac

Rimonabant is an agent that is an inverse agonist of the CB1 receptor but is known to have
antagonist actions. As a result of those actions it reduces obesity and smoking cessation but has
side effects such as nausea, emesis, depression and anxiety (Despres et al., 2005) which were
shown to be the opposite effects of CB1 agonists. Therefore, novel drugs might be neutral
antagonists and it has been suggested that they would not cause such side effects. Laboratory
studies provided evidence that inverse agonists (e.g. rimonabant) reduce fРѕРѕd intake and body
weight, but cause gastrointestinal side effects in rats, while neutral antagonists (e.g. AM6545,
AM4113) also reduce fРѕРѕd intake and weight, but do not cause such adverse side effects in the
same animal models (Cluny et al., 2010; Cluny et al., 2011). Therefore, neutral antagonists are
thought to be potential drugs for GPCRs, if acting without any side effects (in the case of CB1
provide action like rimonabant but do not cause gastrointestinal irritation or alter mood), but more
studies and experiments need to be done in order to provide evidence and release such drugs on the

The Brains Ability To Multitask Analysis
From the very beginning of the human beings existence, we as a society can see the great efforts
that were made in order to improve ones overall quality of life. In order to learn what a person s
main necessities were, human beings focused on working hard and satisfying those needs, and
further creating ideas that would later change the way in which those necessities were met. When
we think about the past, and the way things used to work, we begin to think about the important
people that went above and beyond in order to create new things that would improve our overall
quality of life. Take for example Alexander Graham Bell, better known as the man who made
communicating with family and friends a whole lot easier, by creating the telephone.... Show more

Religious Authority And The Protestant Reformation
During the sixteenth century, numerous conditions and beliefs existed that cause the Protestant
Reformation. It was a religious, political, cultural and logical disturbance that had made some
Europeans split from the Catholic Church. In northern and central Europe, reformers [such as John
Calvin, Henry VIII and most importantly Martin Luther] challenged papal authority and questioned
the Catholic Churchs ability to define Christian practice. The tension between the reformers and the
church triggered wars, persecutions and the Counter Reformation, also called the Catholic
Reformation. Augustine had emphasized that the bible is more a fundamental source for religious
authority than the Bible is. He also believed that humans could not reach salvation by their own act,
but only God could give salvation by his divine grace. Throughout the Middle Ages, the Catholic
Church taught that salvation was achievable through works of righteousness that made God
pleased. Martin Luther, born in the year 1483 in Thuringia (Saxony), which is what is now the
country of Germany, began to have doubts about the theological basis for much of the daily
practices of the Catholic Church. In other words, he questioned and wondered if the Catholic
leaders teachings were acceptable to the Catholic religion. He shared his two central beliefs with
Augustine, which would later form the basis of Protestantism. Meanwhile, the Catholic Church s
practice of allowing indulgences to offer absolution to

History of Nursing Profession
History of nursing profession Prior to the foundation of modern nursing, nuns and the military
often provided nursing like services. Florence Nightingale is the founder of modern nurses. she
formed the base for the first professional nursing philosophy. She saw the role of nursing as
having charge of somebody s health (Crisp amp;Taylor,2009) based on the knowledge of how to
put the body in such a state to be free of disease or to recover from disease (Crisp
amp;Taylor,2009). The religious and military roots of modern nursing remain in evidence today in
many countries, for example in the United Kingdom, senior female nurses are known as sisters. It

The Army Nursing Service (ANS) oversaw the work of the nurses starting in 1881. These
military nurses were sent overseas beginning with the First Boer War (often called Zulu War)
from 1879 to 1881.[6] They were also dispatched to serve during the Egyptian Campaign in 1882
and the Sudan War of 1883 to 1884. During the Sudan War members of the Army Nursing
Service nursed in hospital ships on the Nile as well as the Citadel in Cairo. Almost 2000 nurses
served during the second Boer War, the Anglo Boer War of 1899 to 1902, alongside nurses who
were part of the colonial armies of Australia, Canada and New Zealand. They served in tented
field hospitals. 23 Army Nursing sisters from Britain lost their lives from disease outbreaks.
Sporadic progress was made on several continents, where medical pioneers established formal
nursing schools. But even as late as the 1870s, women working in North American urban hospitals
typically were untrained, working class, and accorded lowly status by both the medical profession
they supported and society at large . Nursing had the same status in Great Britain and continental
Europe before World War I. Hospital nursing schools in the United States and Canada took the lead
in applying Nightingale s model to their training programmers. Standards of classroom and on the
job training had risen sharply in the 1880s and 1890s, and along with them the expectation of
decorous and professional conduct. By the beginning of World War I, military

Analysis Of Night By Elie Wiesel And First They Killed My...
When a person recalls an emotional situation, it can be difficult for them to explain to others
exactly how they felt when the event occurred. Authors attempt to communicate these tough
experiences using a variety of literary devices which include symbolism, irony, and theme. Night
by Elie Wiesel, and First They Killed My Father by Loung Ungare two pieces of literature that
recollect the memories of the authors during traumatic events; Night is set during the Holocaust,
while the latter is set in Cambodia during the harsh rule of Pol Pot. The literary devices present in
each text are utilized by Wiesel and Ung in unique and similar ways to communicate the extent of
what they felt . Both novels utilized symbols in order to relay importance to the readers,
particularly during the times when the speakers viewed something horrific. In First They Killed My
Father, Ung attempts to symbolize Pol Pot, her father, and even the clothing of the Khmer Rouge.
She almost describes Pol Pot as being a supernatural all seeing eye type figure one she became
set on trying to kill later on in the future as vengeance. Her father represented the glue and power
that held Loung s family together once he had died, his children (Loung s brothers) had continued
to try and fill in his shoes by providing food, while Loung had continued to be inspired by him.
The clothing of the Khmer Rouge became a symbol of the regime, along with all the horror it had
created. Indeed, Loung noticed that she could

Hostility Towards Transgender Students
One of the most complex and diverse populations of people are those categorized as transgender.
These people are very often the subject of intense scrutiny, discrimination, ostracism, verbal
harassment and even physical assault. These responses to a transgendered person often stems from
a lack of understanding, confusion, fear, and anxiety when interacting with these people. In order to
understand why people are so unsettled when in the presence of a transgenderindividual, it is
essential to fully understand the term transgender.
The American Psychological Association published a Question and Answer pamphlet (2014) to
help the public understand the Transgender population in America. The APA defines the term
transgender as an umbrella term for persons whose gender identity, gender expression, or
behavior does not conform to that typically associated with the sex which they assigned at birth
(p. 1) They go on to explain the differences between gender identity and gender expression.
Gender identity is the person s internal sense of being male, female, or something else (p. 1).
Gender Expression refers to the way a person communicates gender identity to others through their
behavior, clothing, hairstyles, voice, and/or body characteristics (p. 1). The term transsexual is
defined as people whose gender identity is different from their assigned sex (p. 1). Many of these
transsexual individuals will choose to alter their physical biology through hormone replacement

At the time I took extreme interest in Frankl s parable of comparing the actions of his comrades
to that of swine and others of saints to this day this still resonates with me. Here are people who
find themselves in one of the worst situations imaginable a nazi concentration camp these are
people with virtually no freedom and have experienced great pain and suffering but even in this
darkest hour Frankl explains that people still had to power to choose how they would react to
the situations presented to them. Now I am a libertarian by nature and I strongly believe in the
power of self determination but I even believe that some circumstances can influence man and
hinder his decision making skills . Take depression for example one of the worst things to say to
a person suffering with depression would be to chastise them with so called tough love
statements such as calling the person lazy and a loser in my opinion statements such as these
can only make the situation worse. The point I am trying to make is that the person with
depression is not living with the same reality as the rest of us while it s technically true it s their
fault for waking up at two in the afternoon for the third time in a week it s also true to state that
they only did so because their brain chemistry caused them to lose the proper amount sleep and
motivation to wake up on reasonable time. I use the example of depression because I

Aquinas Cosmological Causes
Cosmological comes from the word cosmos which means universe is an orderly system, this
definition fits clearly through out the argument. The Cosmological coincides but also differs from
the Ontalogical argument due to the fact it is inductive, a Pasterori meaning that Aquinas uses
empirical evidence of the universeitself and questioned why it existed. Aquinas wrote the argument
in his book Summa Theologia making a clear link to Aristotles four causes; material, efficient,
formal and final. The causes needed an explanation, Aristotle concluded that this was the Prime
Mover, however Aquinas was a monk in the 15th century and took this point a step further by
suggesting that the Prime Mover was in fact the Judaeo Christian God. In a similar way to the fact
Aristotle noticed there was a change from potential to actuality in the universe, Aquinas noted that
objects move and change, they are subject to cause and effect and the... Show more content on

If wood is rubbed together it can cause friction which results in fire, the change cannot be caused
by the wood itself, instead an agent would be needed to act upon the wood.
There can be no infinite chain of past movers or motions, thus there must have been a first mover
which things are attracted to, For Aquinas this was God.
Aquinas second way was that everything has an efficient cause as nothing can be efficient in itself
as it would have to exist prior to itself which is clearly impossible. Aquinas repeats the later part of
his first point by saying once again that infinite regress is not the efficient causes, and thus the cause
is the uncaused causer. For Aquinas this was

North Carolin The Legacy Of The English
In 1792, the state legislature had to decide where to place the state capitol. The capitol was
created as a planned capital city. As a nod to the state s early history, the capital was named
Raleigh after Sir Walter Raleigh in deference to his original plan to build a Cittie of Raleigh in his
first colony. (Powell, 1989, p. 212).
The most obvious influence of English settlement in North Carolina is the legacy of the English
language, the English system of weights and measures, which ironically the English no longer use,
the system of governance and as mentioned earlier, the naming of counties and towns.
Another legacy of the English influence in North Carolina is the textile industry. Early colonists

The Jack tales originated in the British Isles and were brought to North Carolina as part of a rich
oral storytelling tradition (Chase, 2003, pp. 62 65).
There are pockets of North Carolina which hold on to peculiarities of English speech. According
to (Burke, 1971, pp. 289 300) Ocracoke is one such pocket where dialect and language still
contain English influenced speech. Part of the reason this holds true is that Ocracoke, as a
barrier island remains isolated from the rest of the North Carolina and has held onto specific turns
of phrase and pronunciation. For example, the words abreast (to the side of) comforter (for quilt)
squall (for storm) curtain (in place of blind or roller shade) and whicker (the sound a horse makes.)
The early days of farming in North Carolina over a hundred years after the first white, European
colonists had arrived was initially that of hog and cattle farming. Hogs and cattle were let lose
to forage and roam the countryside before being rounded up twice a year for slaughter. The meat
was exported to the West Indies as salted beef and pork (Kulikoff, 2000). The legacy of hog
farming continues in North Carolina today with 7.1% of the national total of hog farms. In 2012,
the hog industry employed over 130,000 workers, and had a net worth of 2.9 billion dollars.

They believe that the idea of creating a society that is closer to the model of liberal politics will
produce a better running country. I would have to disagree with that statement because I see
many problems associating with an all liberal society. The main problem being that power lies
within the individuals, not the government. I think the government should always have more
authority over the people to keep the country in order. The government has more experience and
should do whats best for the country in the first place, so all individuals can be satisfied. The
reason why we have governments in the first place is to run countries and make sure they are
prospering. Furthermore, I do like the ideas that they present and I think it has great intent
towards globalization. Now looking into Sen s work, we see a little different view point on what
she thinks of globalization. She truly does believe that globalization has a lot to offer, but it also
comes along with many problems. The two main problems that she highlights in her writings are
ethical and human concerns. Basically, she is concerned on the fact that in globalization, we are

many individuals are still being mistreated and not fully accounted for in the equal distribution part.

Most of Cash s music contained themes of sadness, sorrow, and moral tribulations, which made
Reznor s Hurt a perfect cover for Cash ( Johnny Cash ). Hurt is the type song someone listens to

The Case Miller V Davis Case
In August 2015, the case Miller V Davis brought to light the complicated relationship between law
and morality. Indeed, Mrs Davis a county clerk in Rowan county (Kentucky), is being sued for not
delivering marriage licences to same sex couples as she believes that homosexuality is morally
wrong. Thus, despite the fact that same sex marriage has been made legal by the U.S Supreme
Court since June 2015. Ought individuals to apply the law though it is in inadequacy with their
moralbeliefs? Do the law should be totally free from any moral influence? Many legal scholars
have argued on these questions, as well as trying to define the terms law and morality. While no one
has agreed to a universal definition, law can be defined as a body of rules, whether proceeding
from formal enactment or from custom, which a particular state or community recognizes as
binding on its members or subjects . On the other hand, morality is referred to as an ethical
wisdom , the set of common values unifying a society. This essay will discuss the role of morality
in the law, while analysing different legal school of thoughts arguing on the topic. First of all,
positivists such as Bentham, Austin and Hart, argued that morality should not interfere with the
law as it is created by a legitimate authority. On the other hand, naturalist theorists, such as
Aristotle, Fuller and Dworkin, believed in the existence of a higher law , highly influenced by
morals, has to be integrated in a legal system

  • 2. Pros And Cons Of Free Healthcare In The United States Nico Flores 12/9/17 English 100 Healthcare In The US Throughout the modern era of the United States, one constant issue in society is free healthcare. This issue is not just an issue in the United States, but also in the whole world. Many other countries have made drastic changes in order to fix or at least attempt to fix this issue in their own country, but the U.S. has not done very much. Many Americans believe that free healthcare is something that tax paying citizens should be entitled to. These citizens of the United States ask why and how do many other countries have free healthcare, but the U.S. does not. These citizens ask this because they consider the fact that the United States is a very powerful country, but there are many other poorer countries around the world that have free healthcare. Free healthcare is medical care that is paid for that gives free of charge primary services to all citizens of the county, regardless of the citizens income or wealth. Currently in 2017, over 50 countries have free healthcare and several of those countries also have universal healthcare, which offers coverage in all medical situations to 90% of their citizens. Overtime the goal of the world should be for everyone to have universal healthcare, but the United States tends to support private healthcare. Private healthcare directly takes money out of citizens pockets and makes them pay for it. Although one is more expensive compared to the other both types of healthcare have ... • 3. Motor Vehicle Accidents And Economic Stress Motor Vehicle Accidents and Economic Stress In today s society, motor vehicle accidents can cause serious economic stress on the average U.S. citizen. In America today, the average legal driving age can start out at the age of eighteen. Unless those new drivers have had plenty of time behind the wheel, they are subject to a higher risk of a motor vehicle accident that could result in economic stress. Economic stress can come in all varieties. It can range from an influx in vehicle insurance premiums and medical bills to the physiological stress of losing a vehicle in a multi vehicle homestead; as well as the stress that can come from ones career or workplace. With the economic state of America, an influx in insurance premiums and payments can seriously hit the pocket. Motor vehicle accidents are the leading causes of traumatic injuries worldwide (Diedericks 2). Motor vehicle accidents can cause traumatic stress, severe injury, and can even cause serious debt. If the average U.S. citizen were to better understand what a motor vehicle accident is and understand the leading causes of those motor vehicle, it would help in mitigating the volume of accidents and economic stress. What is a motor vehicle accident? Many would use this terminology of accident to not come across as harsh as others would take words like collision or incident (Dennis). The term collision is used to define objects that come together with solid impact (Dennis). An accident is defined as a sequence of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Ignatian Religion Paper The Examen, a bi daily routine for the Jesuits, connects the priests with their subconscious and conscious minds, as well as with God. Saint Ignatius, the founder of the Jesuits or Society of Jesus, created this daily examination of prayerful reflection. Much like the Act of Contrition said before confession by the lines of content, the Examen helps one better understand themselves. In the Jesuit order, the reflective prayer is said twice a day, which splits the day into three periods or parts. This prayer, said once in the morning and later in the evening, the prayer focusing not only on one s faults but on what one did correctly or improved upon, venerating hard work. Because this prayer was created by Ignatius himself, it reflects essential values of the original Jesuits. Although the prayer helps one receive and perceive God, it s... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Before participating in Ignatian spirituality, one must determine who they truly are, why they do the things they do, and how they might react in theoretical situations. As said in To the Greater Glory: A Psychological Study of Ignatian Spirituality by William W. Meissner M.D, S.J Ignatian spirituality bears the mark of his personality in unique and distinguishing ways , meaning the heart and core of Jesuit spirituality is rooted in the very essence of our and Ignatius personality. During the time of Ignatius, a Jesuit would have to do this through rigorous meditation and self examination but now we have special tests like the Myers Briggs Personality Test. Because everyone has a different personality, one might ponder why a personality test similar to the Myers Briggs Personality Test would give any insight, considering there s limited definitions to describe 7 billion people. However these tests are key, they give valuable information about one s ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. The Theory Of An Organization Organizations are groups of people working together to achieve a common goal. The organizations theories correlate together in order for organizations to sustain functionality. In all organizations there is a common unit of power that directs the organization toward a common goal. Within the Department of Health and Human Resources, the source of power is the commissioner, and the direction of the department is to have zero child fatalities and maintain safety of children. The classical model focuses on the structure of the organization. The decision making starts at the top, with the person in power and trickles down to the employees in the organizations. Hence, the person in power has the authority and decision making capability. This is also known as bureaucracy, which occurs within a government institution such as; when meetings occur, the commissioner will make the final decisions about goals and how to implement those goals. All organizations recognize that decisions have to be made. The decision theory is similar to the classical model in how decisions are made and who makes the decisions. The person in power makes the decision, and the ultimate outcome is to achieve a common goal. Decisions are made on rationale when possible, but achieving a perfect goal is not the ultimate goal. When conflict occurs it is embraced, and organization work to accommodate or even coerce members to achieve common goals. Human relations theory is derived from the machine ... • 6. Confucianism And The Conflicts Of The Han Dynasty Of... The Han Dynasty of Ancient China was one of the most prominent and long lasting societies of the time. However, they were not untouched by the ravages of the world, and despite their Confucius roots, there was a war to be fought. The Salt and Iron debate is an example of how the Confucianism of the time affected the strategy of the war. Should the government stick to their principles, or protect their empire? When is the time to say enough is enough ? In order to understand the debate, we must understand those who are arguing. The Scholars spent years studying the word and policy of Confucius, then toured China spreading his ideas to every household. The Confucius Scholars opposed the Salt and Iron policies of the Chinese government. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... They asked why their people should have to suffer if it wasn t necessary. The bureaucrats were also beginning to consider the possibility of fighting back, and to do so they would need soldier and costly weaponry. Fighting back was becoming more attractive because of the severe cost of bribing the Xiongnu, who were taking goods like gold, silk, and Princesses. There was a major loss happening, and the only way to keep the country floating was through the monopolies. The bureaucrats try explaining this to the Scholars, but are vehemently argued against because the trade is steeped in greed. In my opinion, the bureaucrats make a stronger case for the continuation of the Salt and Iron monopolies. There must be an army, and walls to protect the country. If they aren t going to fight, like the Scholars want, then there also needs to be money for bribes. If there is no money, there is no way to protect the people of China. Congenital Pulmonary Lymphangiectasis is a developmental disorder caused by abnormally dilated lymphatic vessels within the lung tissue. Congenital Pulmonary Lymphangiectasis is divided into two classifications; primary and secondary. Primary Congenital Pulmonary Lymphangiectasis refers to a problem that occurred in development of the fetal lungs. In order to understand the significance of abnormal, we must first understand normal. Normal development of the lungs begins on day 26 of gestation and continues until term in five stages. The pleural effusion reduces the ability of the lungs to expand and therefore reduce the amount of oxygen than can be taken in. This leads us to the tachypnea. Tachypnea is an abnormal increase in respiratory rate. Low arterial oxygen concentration can lead to increased respiratory rate by stimulation of chemoreceptors. The mechanism not definite, but it s believed that low oxygen is detected by glomus cells with in the carotid or aortic bodies and causes stimulation of the nerve endings because these so called glomus cells of oxygen sensitive potassium channels that become inactivated the blood oxygen levels decrease. There is a strong stimulation of the chemoreceptors which in turn increase respiratory rate. Another reason for increase is respiratory rate could be the acidosis that occurs as a symptom for this disease. The acidosis is more specifically known as respiratory acidosis because it is caused by the accumulation of carbon dioxide which is essentially trapped or not given adequate means of escape due to decreased lung function. The decreased blood pH also indicates an increase in hydrogen ion concentration. This increase in hydrogen ion concentration or the increase in carbon dioxide concentration excites the ... The outcome of the audits on clinical practice which involved forty occasions of CVDC procedures revealed differences in routine practice. Nurses differ greatly in maintaining cleanliness of work area before opening the sterile supplies, preserving the dressing set s sterility and if proper hand scrubbing was either finished or not before touching the catheter. There were also instances when either the patient or the nurse coughs and talks while the catheter was out in the open. Documentation audit results which included charts of fifty five patients with CVDC demonstrated significant contrast of medical records in the bedside to the electronic database in the unit. It appears that logging of insertions and removals were done obediently on the electronic database compared to bedside medical records which accounts to merely 10 percent of catheter site appearance recorded and just 55 percent on documented CVC catheter care for each treatment. Based from the end results, the working party devised a standardised routine for managing central venous dialysis catheter in order to decrease differences in practise as well as to warrant evidence based practice. However, several occupations are still highly gender segregated (ACLU, 2013). It has been found that the choices of such occupations could be shaped during early childhood through gendered socialization. Playing with dolls is an important factor in the gendersocialization process. Dolls boost the cultural ideals that are linked to the place of girls in the society. Douglas McGregor is a social psychologist and applied two sets of assumptions to the organizational structure called Theory X and Theory Y. His theory is based on managerial views of human beings. In his book, The Human Side of Enterprise, he outlined a new role for managers. He stated that managers should assist subordinates in reaching their full potential, rather than commanding and controlling. Theory X is negative and Theory Y can be stated as the opposite, positive. Theory X and Y call for managers to examine their assumptions about human nature and see how these models lead to managerial practices. These assumptions will be reflected in management attitudes toward employees, the kind and amount of participation they allow, and the outcomes they expect. The strength of McGregor s theory is its significance. When McGregor formulated his theory, companies competed on their ability to mass produce goods. Today, however, paying attention to the human aspect is a requirement if any organization. Without a powerfully motivated, highly skilled, self reliant human resource, organizations do not stand a chance to survive, much less compete. McGregor s theory provides the solution to problems related to the human aspect of an organization. Some of the weaknesses in McGregor s Theory X and Theory Y theory are that there is only so much money that can be offered as motivation and only so much control that can be applied. People change and so do motivators. McGregor states that a satisfied need no longer motivates. This theory has no evidence to support Theory X or Theory Y. It was a religious, political, cultural and logical disturbance that had made some Europeans split from the Catholic Church. In northern and central Europe, reformers [such as John Calvin, Henry VIII and most importantly Martin Luther] challenged papal authority and questioned the Catholic Churchs ability to define Christian practice. The tension between the reformers and the church triggered wars, persecutions and the Counter Reformation, also called the Catholic Reformation. Augustine had emphasized that the bible is more a fundamental source for religious authority than the Bible is. He also believed that humans could not reach salvation by their own act, but only God could give salvation by his divine grace. Throughout the Middle Ages, the Catholic Church taught that salvation was achievable through works of righteousness that made God pleased. Martin Luther, born in the year 1483 in Thuringia (Saxony), which is what is now the country of Germany, began to have doubts about the theological basis for much of the daily practices of the Catholic Church. • 30. Hostility Towards Transgender Students One of the most complex and diverse populations of people are those categorized as transgender. These people are very often the subject of intense scrutiny, discrimination, ostracism, verbal harassment and even physical assault. These responses to a transgendered person often stems from a lack of understanding, confusion, fear, and anxiety when interacting with these people. In order to understand why people are so unsettled when in the presence of a transgenderindividual, it is essential to fully understand the term transgender. The American Psychological Association published a Question and Answer pamphlet (2014) to help the public understand the Transgender population in America. The APA defines the term transgender as an umbrella term for persons whose gender identity, gender expression, or behavior does not conform to that typically associated with the sex which they assigned at birth (p. 1) They go on to explain the differences between gender identity and gender expression. Gender identity is the person s internal sense of being male, female, or something else (p. 1). Gender Expression refers to the way a person communicates gender identity to others through their behavior, clothing, hairstyles, voice, and/or body characteristics (p. 1). The term transsexual is defined as people whose gender identity is different from their assigned sex (p. 1). Now I am a libertarian by nature and I strongly believe in the power of self determination but I even believe that some circumstances can influence man and hinder his decision making skills . Take depression for example one of the worst things to say to a person suffering with depression would be to chastise them with so called tough love statements such as calling the person lazy and a loser in my opinion statements such as these can only make the situation worse. The point I am trying to make is that the person with depression is not living with the same reality as the rest of us while it s technically true it s their fault for waking up at two in the afternoon for the third time in a week it s also true to state that they only did so because their brain chemistry caused them to lose the proper amount sleep and motivation to wake up on reasonable time. • 32. Aquinas Cosmological Causes Cosmological comes from the word cosmos which means universe is an orderly system, this definition fits clearly through out the argument. The Cosmological coincides but also differs from the Ontalogical argument due to the fact it is inductive, a Pasterori meaning that Aquinas uses empirical evidence of the universeitself and questioned why it existed. Aquinas wrote the argument in his book Summa Theologia making a clear link to Aristotles four causes; material, efficient, formal and final. The causes needed an explanation, Aristotle concluded that this was the Prime Mover, however Aquinas was a monk in the 15th century and took this point a step further by suggesting that the Prime Mover was in fact the Judaeo Christian God. In a similar way to the fact Aristotle noticed there was a change from potential to actuality in the universe, Aquinas noted that objects move and change, they are subject to cause and effect and the... Aquinas second way was that everything has an efficient cause as nothing can be efficient in itself as it would have to exist prior to itself which is clearly impossible. Aquinas repeats the later part of his first point by saying once again that infinite regress is not the efficient causes, and thus the cause is the uncaused causer. For Aquinas this was ... • 33. North Carolin The Legacy Of The English In 1792, the state legislature had to decide where to place the state capitol. The capitol was created as a planned capital city. As a nod to the state s early history, the capital was named Raleigh after Sir Walter Raleigh in deference to his original plan to build a Cittie of Raleigh in his first colony. (Powell, 1989, p. 212). The most obvious influence of English settlement in North Carolina is the legacy of the English language, the English system of weights and measures, which ironically the English no longer use, the system of governance and as mentioned earlier, the naming of counties and towns. The Jack tales originated in the British Isles and were brought to North Carolina as part of a rich oral storytelling tradition (Chase, 2003, pp. 62 65). There are pockets of North Carolina which hold on to peculiarities of English speech. According to (Burke, 1971, pp. 289 300) Ocracoke is one such pocket where dialect and language still contain English influenced speech. Part of the reason this holds true is that Ocracoke, as a barrier island remains isolated from the rest of the North Carolina and has held onto specific turns of phrase and pronunciation. For example, the words abreast (to the side of) comforter (for quilt) squall (for storm) curtain (in place of blind or roller shade) and whicker (the sound a horse makes.) The early days of farming in North Carolina over a hundred years after the first white, European colonists had arrived was initially that of hog and cattle farming. Hogs and cattle were let lose to forage and roam the countryside before being rounded up twice a year for slaughter. The meat was exported to the West Indies as salted beef and pork (Kulikoff, 2000). The legacy of hog farming continues in North Carolina today with 7.1% of the national total of hog farms. They believe that the idea of creating a society that is closer to the model of liberal politics will produce a better running country. I would have to disagree with that statement because I see many problems associating with an all liberal society. The main problem being that power lies within the individuals, not the government. I think the government should always have more authority over the people to keep the country in order. The government has more experience and should do whats best for the country in the first place, so all individuals can be satisfied. The reason why we have governments in the first place is to run countries and make sure they are prospering. Furthermore, I do like the ideas that they present and I think it has great intent towards globalization. Now looking into Sen s work, we see a little different view point on what she thinks of globalization. She truly does believe that globalization has a lot to offer, but it also comes along with many problems. The two main problems that she highlights in her writings are ethical and human concerns. Basically, she is concerned on the fact that in globalization, we are taught that people are being treated equally and fairly in all aspects. Yet, her findings suggest that many individuals are still being mistreated and not fully accounted for in the equal distribution part. Country music artist Johnny Cashreceived critical acclaim when he covered Hurtwith reviews saying that Cash s version was much better than the original done by Reznor. Johnny Cash is considered to be one of the most influential and best selling artists of the 20th century. Most of Cash s music contained themes of sadness, sorrow, and moral tribulations, which made Reznor s Hurt a perfect cover for Cash ( Johnny Cash ). Hurt is the type song someone listens to when they have the kind of day that makes them feel alone. Everything you thought you knew was wrong, people stab you in the back, and everything you used to believe in has vanished. You re left with nothing at the end of the day, feeling depressed and miserable, that is what Hurt is about. • 42. The Case Miller V Davis Case In August 2015, the case Miller V Davis brought to light the complicated relationship between law and morality. Indeed, Mrs Davis a county clerk in Rowan county (Kentucky), is being sued for not delivering marriage licences to same sex couples as she believes that homosexuality is morally wrong. Thus, despite the fact that same sex marriage has been made legal by the U.S Supreme Court since June 2015. Ought individuals to apply the law though it is in inadequacy with their moralbeliefs? Do the law should be totally free from any moral influence? Many legal scholars have argued on these questions, as well as trying to define the terms law and morality. While no one has agreed to a universal definition, law can be defined as a body of rules, whether proceeding from formal enactment or from custom, which a particular state or community recognizes as binding on its members or subjects . On the other hand, morality is referred to as an ethical wisdom , the set of common values unifying a society. This essay will discuss the role of morality in the law, while analysing different legal school of thoughts arguing on the topic. First of all, positivists such as Bentham, Austin and Hart, argued that morality should not interfere with the law as it is created by a legitimate authority. On the other hand, naturalist theorists, such as Aristotle, Fuller and Dworkin, believed in the existence of a higher law , highly influenced by morals, has to be integrated in a legal system ...
