Letter To Daughter Case Analysis
It is with great grief that I write you this letter in regards to the passing of your daughter. I wish that
my sincere condolences would suffice during your painful trials, however, considering the
circumstance, neglecting to explain to you the reasoning for the actions that took place on the ship
would be unjust on my part. My dear friends, you are at least owed an explanation for the tragic
sacrifice of your daughter, of which I intend to give you. The motives behind the mission in question
were as follows; 6 colonist nursing terminal illnesses awaited the serum carried in the EDS dispatched
ship with great urgency. The problem arose from the fact that the Stardust, alike all EDS vessels,
contains no more fuel than needed to arrive safely at its destination. For this reason any surplus of
weight that has not been ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The fact of the matter is Marilyn put her needs ahead of a law she did not understand and must assume
moral culpability. However, this is not a matter of retribution. When faced with such difficult
circumstances, we must seek to bring about the least amount of pain to the greatest amount of people,
and when reviewing the reasonable consequences to be expected; the death of these 7 men, against the
additional hours of life we could have given Marilyn by allowing her to stay we made the practical
choice. Please do not resent Mr. Barton, I must urge that he did everything in his power to save your
daughter within reason and exhausted all possibilities. He even increased the speed of ship to decrease
fuel consumption and bide her more time. Inevitably, there was no other choice but to jettison
Marilyn. I assure you this was not easy for him. While we did what we must, we still extend apologies
and sincerest regret that the situation occurred. Measures will be taken to prevent such things from
happening again. We hope you can come to terms with our

Ap Euro Peasant Rebellion Comparision Essays
DBQ: Peasants revolts
From 1524 to 1526 peasant revolts were occurring throughout the German states. Many causes and
responses brewed out of these revolts. One cause is from religion issues (1,3,6) , Luther s idea of
equality. Another cause is the peasant gaining power (2,8,9). As a result of these causes came out
response, the most common response was riots and chaos (5,11,7). These revolts would end in
thousands of rebel deaths and others are also killed.
In the early 1500s religious reforms were constant throughout all of Germany, including the ideas of
Martin Luther. Martin Luther brought the idea of equality to the peasants (1,3,6) , which in term
started the revolts. In document 1 Leonhard van Eck states that the peasants were ... Show more

This document is written by peasants hence the encouragement for the revolt, although Lotzer might
be saying this so that we may be the leader of this revolt and he is a craftsman so this might get more
people to notice his craft, he then gains more money. Document 8 is the complete opposite perspective
of the peasants gaining power and the revolt. Lorenz Fries is a catholic archbishop and the revolts are
driven out of Luther s doctrines. He said that the peasants are troublesome and the revolt should be
stopped, but he most likely said this to get people to turn their backs on Lutheranism and accept
Catholicism. Although his report is a secret one so he probably wrote it secretly so that he would not
be killed or hurt by the peasant s rebellion. In document 9, Caspar Nutzel, a noble, says that the
peasants were blinded and they have gotten too strong. This document is also a response in that people
have allowed the revolts to happen and the peasants have gone too far. Though this document should
be approached with caution because he uses some absolute language in the regard to how the peasants
act, and Nutzel might be stating this to keep his job as town councilor.
The most common response to the revolts was chaos and rioting (5,11,7). In document 5, a
theologian/journalist states what happened at Weinsburg when the peasants arrived there.

A Normal Day In My Life
It began like a normal day. I woke up at approximately five thirty, and I got dressed. I m not a girl who
spends hours on her appearance although they tell me to. The producers that is. I sat down and drank
my morning milk and ate my morning eggs in the darkness alone. They don t let people like us have
family. They believe it would expose us. Society called us Fakers. They didn t even realize how
accurate that name was. We were each assigned a number, all 238 of us. I was number 112. I was
playing a sixteen year old girl who was semi popular and enjoyed biking, basketball, reading, cooking,
and eating. I weighed 120 and was 5 6 . Exercise was a very important part of my life, so I had many
things to do. I took my dog on a walk for thirty minutes. That s significantly shorter than I expected it
to be. Our neighborhood usually takes about an hour and twelve minutes to get around. I guess I wasn
t going at my usual slow pace. Not much to think about this morning. I met up with Mr. Coulette, my
neighbor, who happened to not know of anything that was happening, is happening, or will be
happening. His house was a little bit smaller than mine, about 50 feet smaller, but his front yard was
50 feet larger. He had four stories like me, but he only had one bathroom per story and two bedrooms
per story. Although I had 12 rooms, I only used one, and the extra eleven were used for when Kevin

Nexus 9 Research Paper
The year is 2019. Many technological advancements have been made, including establishing colonies
on other planets and creating human androids to work on these hazardous planets. Tyrell Corporation
has developed the latest model of androids called the NEXUS 6, referred to as Replicants. Superior to
humans in strength and agility, these androids are used for slave labor despite having the same level of
intelligence as their designers. There is only one flaw in the NEXUS 6 models they have the ability to
develop human emotions and thus, develop the understanding that they are being used as slaves. Many
revolts have already taken place as the Replicants become more aware. The only fail safe to stop this
is the lifespan of the androids. The engineers only have the androids four years to live, preventing
them from developing too many emotions or too much humanity. Those who do develop a sense of
personhood attempt to escape bondage and travel to earth in search of their creators. This has been
ruled illegal and a special police force, Blade Runner, is created to hunt down Replicants who have
come to earth and terminate them. Rick Deckard is an ex Blade Runner, retired after becoming guilty

For the purpose of this study, empirical data is obtained from a retail store at Kukusan, Depok. A three
months transactional data of the retail s costumers was obtained and processed using WEKA (Waikato
Environment for Knowledge Analysis) [3]. The products which were studied in this research consist of
704 products. These products then classified as more specific categories (i.e., 25 categories) and listed
in Table 1. The main objective of the classification was to discover a more detail of customers
shopping patterns. Another objective was to avoid bias in the data processing. The first step was to
choose which transactions to be included in this study. We sorted and selected transactions that had
two or more product categories, which consist of 1049 transactions. These transactions were then
converted to ARFF format [4]. WEKA expects the data to be in ARFF format, therefore it is necessary

The Breakfast of a Champion
Mom, I want this! I want this! I scream as I m peering at the screen, causing my mom to walk in and
hear, The breakfast of a champion coming from the television. Why did I want to eat Wheaties cereal
so bad when my mom provided other delicious cereals, like Fruity Pebbles or Lucky Charms everyday
in our pantry? Being a young child in sports, I simply wanted to be that champion. As I watched the
advertisement, I noticed the athletes they featured and I wanted to be just like them. As I watched

Solving the Foreclosure Crisis- Decrease Interest Rates,...
Foreclosure is an important issue in the United States and needs to be ended or decreased rapidly as
soon as possible for the sake of America s economy. The foreclosure of homes has decreased the state
of the economy, and rendered millions of Americans homeless. There are four key solutions that will
stop foreclosures in the United States and able millions of American to keep their homes. The first
solution is having banks lower their interest rates for all citizens who are in financial need of an
interest rate deduction. The second solution is creating jobs that are able to sustain through an
economic crisis. The third solution is for states and towns to conduct public seminars on how to
manage and budget ones finances during financially ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The disadvantages of having banks lower their interest rates are, people may feel less obligated to pay
their mortgage payments on time because the interest rates are lower, despite the jobs that are
available through people owning homes there still may not be enough jobs to go around causing there
to be very little change in the amount of homes in foreclosure. Creating jobs that are able to sustain
through an economic crisis will stop foreclosures because if citizens lose their jobs in an economic
crisis they will be able to quickly find another job. This would be beneficial in the fight to end
foreclosures because people would have the funds to pay their mortgage and any other financial
obligations. How one would go about creating new jobs is by developing new technology, products,
and services that would change the way people live their everyday life while helping them to save
money. Hybrid vehicles are an example of a new technology that has currently kept and created new
jobs for citizens in the U.S. Hybrid vehicles are perfect examples of a new technology that has
changed the way people live their life while helping them to save money. There are two types of
hybrid vehicles such as, hybrid electric vehicles (HEV s), and plug in hybrid vehicles (PHEV s).

Asians And Asian American Culture
This class helped me realize how ignorant I really was about the Asian American culture as well as the
Native American culture. I generally believed that I was more culturally sound than I actually am. I
believed that I knew more about these cultures than I really did and was shocked to realize that I fed
into some of the stereotypes. I knew that Asian Americans did well academically because their parents
valued education and had them study more than their peers, however I did not realize that culturally
boys were expected to succeed more academically than girls were. I believed that girls were equally
held up to a standard as boys were. Watching the film clips related to Asians and Asian Americans was
an eye opening experience. Just as African Americans are told that their natural hair is not good
enough and it is internalized, it appears it is the same for many Asian Americans in relation to their
eyes. The film clip about the young girl being taken to have plastic surgery on her eyes at the age of
12 because she felt that she would be more beautiful was a heart breaking scene to watch. It never
occurred to me that a feature that is specific to that particular group would become something that has
almost become shameful to a lot of people. To have an eye surgery is a serious decision one has to
make and for that little girl to be so sure that she wants her eyes operated on at 12 years old was
something that I could relate to, but not understand. I also did not realize

Dilsey Gibson, a black woman, serves as a mother figure for the children and a caretaker for the rest
of the family. Dilsey feels as though she really is a part of the family. However, Mrs. Compson and a
grown up Jason disagree and feel that she is easily replaceable. It goes against community and identity
in the South to have a black woman step out of place, and Jason feels that she does step out of place
quite often. Dilsey is shown as a stabilizer when she defends Miss Quentin. Faulkner writes, [Mrs.
Compson] come on and lay down now, she said. I find her in ten minutes. Mrs. Compson shook her
off. Find the note, she said. Quentin left a note when he did it (283). This is showing that Dilsey can
figure Mrs. Compson out and wants to protect her. She believes that Miss Quentin will come back and
wants to help spare Mrs. Compson some heartache. Even though Mrs. Compson treats her poorly, she
still looks out for her. I believe that at this time in the South, black people knew white people better
than white people knew black people. White people could not see past the prejudice. Dilsey also
stabilizes the house when she looks after Miss Quentin. For example, Dilsey says to Jason, Well, you
tend to yo business and let her lone... I ll take keer of her ef you n Miss Cahline ll let me (254). Dilsey

Rwanda Genocide Essay
Imagine living a life of fear, turmoil, with death all around. Hearing gun shots being fired, death
chants, machete use, dead bodies everywhere. Afraid to close your eyes at night to rest, yet more
afraid to wake up in the morning. To sustain your life and the life of your loved ones you must hide
out, kill others, watch your neighbors be killed at the hands of the enemy. Knowing if you are caught
you could be forced to murder your own family, be raped, be held captive, be starved to death, and
most likely be killed. In 1994, this was the life many faced in Rwanda. Rwanda has become a
synonym for one of the worst genocides of the 20th century (Lemarchand, (n.d.), p. 483).
Rwanda is a small country located near the center of Africa. Kigali is the capital which is located in
the center of the country. In 1991, the population of Rwanda was 7.7 million, according to the national
census. Rwanda was made up of three ethnic groups 90 percent of the population was Hutu, 9 percent
was Tutsi, and 1 percent was Twa (Worldwithoutgenocide.org, 2013). A civil war broke out between

Summary of the Merchant and the Demon from the Arabian...
The first night s story in Arabian Nights is that of the Merchant and the Demon. Told by Shahrazad,
the story offers a remarkable parallel to her own situation as she faces immanent death. Thus, the story
of the Merchant and the Demon is told as a parable within the frame story, presenting a poignant
analogy for Shahrazad s own situation. The Merchant and the Demon is a short tale but one filled with
themes such as power, guilt, justice, and moral responsibility. Through the clever analogy with her
own situation, Shahrazad also explores the theme of creative problem solving in tricky situations.
Moreover, the story illustrates the core differences between pre Islamic and Islamic values in Arabian
society. Because the theme of gender roles and norms are not present within the Merchant and the
Demon, the story shows how sexism is simply a form of general political and social oppression. Just
as the king seeks to kill Shahrazad, the demon in the first night s story also wants to kill the merchant
for a perceived transgression. A traveling merchant stops under a shady tree for a lunch break and
casually tosses a date pit onto the ground. After he does so, a demon appears and states, When thou
atest the date, and threwest aside the stone, it struck my son upon the chest, and, as fate had decreed
against him, he instantly died. The merchant feels bad but defends himself: If I killed him, I did it not
intentionally, but without knowing it; and I trust in thee that thou wilt

Analysis Of The Movie Stagecoach
Despite my childhood love for westerns, particularly those starring John Wayne, I had never seen
Stagecoach in its entirety. Therefore, I highly anticipated watching this movie in my class. While not
one of my favorite westerns, I enjoyed Stagecoach and appreciated it for how it helped define the
genre. This film follows a group of people aboard the titular mode of transportation as they travel
from one town, through Apache territory, to another. The passengers include a prostitute run out of
town (Claire Trevor), the driver (Andy Devine), a gambler who fought for the confederacy (John
Carradine), an alcoholic doctor (Thomas Mitchell), a wife of a solider (Louise Platt), a Marshal
escorting an outlaw (George Bancroft), a whiskey salesman (Donald Meek), a corrupt banker (Berton
Churchill) and an outlaw out for revenge (John Wayne). This ensemble cast worked perfectly together.
Each actor brought believability and depth to their role, while also crafting a memorable character.
With that being said, a few performers stand out. Wayne, in his first major role, is already incredibly
charismatic as Ringo Kid. Trevor excels at making her character more human and relatable, an
essential aspect of the film. Mitchell, who won an Oscar for best supporting actor, is great. He s funny
and brings depth and humanity to his character. Lastly, Bancroft impresses with his portrayal of a level
headed, though not entirely pure, lawman. Although I very much liked the acting, my favorite

With a tax credit, you get to subtract that amount from your tax liability. If you made $50,000 and owe
$5,000 in taxes, a tax credit of $1,000 means that you now owe just $4,000.
With a tax deduction, the deduction is subtracted from your taxable income. In the same $50,000
example, a $1,000 tax deduction means that you know have a $49,000 taxable income. If you are
taxed at the same rate as the previous example, then you would owe $4,900 in taxes. The most
common tax deduction is the personal exemption, which was $4,050 in 2016. Meanwhile, the child tax
credit is the most common tax credit. This worked out to $1,000 in 2016.

I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings by Maya Angelou is an autobiography with a fictional aspect that
depicts the life of Maya herself from the time she was eight to sixteen. The in depth stories reveal the
struggle and hardships she faced growing up. In Cold Blood by Truman Capote is a true account of the
murders of the Clutter family in Holcomb, Kansas on November 15, 1959. The book gives a more
thorough look at the details of the family and the killers, the book is written to take the events and
elevate them into a story, enabling the event to transcend their specific historical moment. Capote
assembles the facts and perspectives about the Clutter murder into a narrative, creating that feeling of

It fell flat on the big vat of lard and by noontime in the summer the grease had softened to a thick

with it. The development of the theme is what categorizes the book as a fiction. I Know Why the
Caged Bird Sings starts out discussing the family and the problems within the family, and as the book
progresses it begins to unravel the deeper theme of racism. However, the theme also incorporates the
chronological element of the plot and stories into a sequence of life events that make the narrator,
Angelou, the person she is. The first person narration is witnessed all throughout the book, every page
is told in her perspective and the readers learn more about her than the other characters. Provided, that
factor is what gives the book its autobiographical component. Since all of these conventions of fiction
are so prominent the book is considered an autobiographical fiction, but mainly read as if were just
fiction.
In Cold Blood was written as an account of the murder of a family and to convey the truth behind the
fictional facet of the book, Capote uses the convention of point of view by narrating the story from 3

alternating perspectives enable the readers to understand both sides of the

Essay On The South African War
The war that occurred in South Africa from 1899 to 1902 has had several names throughout history.
Often, the title depends on who is discussing the war and on what side of the war they were fighting
for during the conflict. Several of these names include the Boer War, the Second War of Liberation,
the Anglo Boer War, and the South African War. Many historians today believe that it should be
referred to as the South African War, so as to include everyone who resided in the South African
region at that time. The conflict should be called the South African war as it was not simply a war
between white British and white Boers because there were many different people and races involved
and affected, including African workers, and foreigners who came to work in the mines in the
Transvaal.
The War in South Africa resulted from many different issues between the British Empire and the

Analysis Of Adp As A System For Federal Mogul
Analysis of ADP as a HRIS System for Federal Mogul
Now that we have taken a look at the minimum required hardware and software of the ADP system,
let s examine ADP as a Human Resource Information System, or HRIS for short. A great HRIS system
provides critical data about the human resource function of the business as well as helping to create a
follow through on the business s mission and goals. HRIS systems help to reduce organizational costs
by contributing to the efficiency of the human resource management function. HRIS systems help to
automate critical human resource management functions (Chauhan, Sharma, Tyagi, 2011, p. 58).
HRIS systems contain information on employees, job and work conditions, positions, payroll and
benefits, and HR events such as recruitment, training, development, performance appraisals, and
terminations (Chauhan, Sharma, Tyagi, 2011, p. 59). Although ADP offers all of these features,
Federal Mogul utilizes ADP specifically for the payroll and benefits function.
APD s payroll system is a very complete system that works in conjunction with Federal Mogul s
timekeeping systems. Many Federal Mogul facilities utilize Kronos for attendance and timekeeping,
including the Sparta, MI location where I work. In order for Kronos and ADP to work together, there
is a custom interface as mentioned earlier that extracts the data from Kronos, and then it is converted

Culture and Cross-Cultural Linkages in American Music Essay
Culture and Cross Cultural Linkages in American Music
I have recently been listening to a lot of Motown music and even jazz. I have never before explored
music in the extent that I have done this semester. I always thought of myself as cultured but this
semester, I ve begun to realize there are more areas of music that I have not explored than those which
I have. And as I explore culture and cross cultural linkages in our music, I realize how much one
generation s music speaks to the next.
Currently, the song I am intrigued by is Strange Fruit by Billie Holiday. This song is very moving.
When Billie Holiday sings, you MUST listen. However, this song, unlike most of her other music, is
not about love. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The imagery is vivid. You can see and smell everything Holiday sings. It is through this song that I
can really connect with the generation of people that dealt with such issues.
My parents never really listened to music as I grew up. My grandparents used to always have country
music playing in the background no matter what was going on. In my early years, this was the extent
of my musical background. I received my first record player when I was in 1st or 2nd grade. I
remember it was red and blue. It was a Disney record player that played all my favorite Disney
records. But it wasn t until I was about 11 or 12 that I really got a test of music. My grandpa had given
me his old yellowed record player/radio. I was ecstatic. It was the first time that I had the power to
listen to whatever I wanted to. It didn t matter what my parents thought about it. It didn t even matter
that they didn t regularly listen to music. So I would turn that radio on and listen to good ol country
music just like my grandparents. I thought it was wonderful. I never even tried any other station until
one day when I was in the 7th or 8th grade. My friends came over and laughed when they heard the
music I was listening to. So we changed it to some pop radio station. I remember listening to it and
telling them that I could not understand it. The words were spoken way too fast. But I listened on for
their sake and was turned on to what was mainstream music at the time. Since

U.s. Balance Of Payment Deficit
Sustainability of U.S. Balance of Payment Deficit The U.S. has been running a trade deficit
consistently since the early 1980s. There have been minor recessions from 1980 to 2008. The Great
Recession starting as a result of complex financial products, which masked debt risk (McGahey,
2014). The Great Recession was not a result of trade deficit itself. The question naturally arises; can
the U.S. maintain trade deficits indefinitely? Overall, Carbaugh argues that there is no economic
reason why the United States cannot continue to sustain current account deficits (Carbaugh, 2013).
Similarly, Karczmar quoting Herb Stein suggests that if the U.S. deficit is a problem, and there is no
solution to the problem, then there is no problem (Karczmar, 2004, p. 9). There are risks in
maintaining chronic deficits, however. The focus turns to analyzing if the benefits outweigh the risks,
and if not, what can be done to reduce the deficit without negatively impacting the U.S. economy
overall. Both Carbaugh, and Karczmar s risk assessments, options for keeping or reducing the deficit,
and impacts of deficit reduction are explored below. Carbaugh explains that the U.S. media and trade
unions myopically focus on merchandise trade imbalance while glossing over the fact that services

Anzac Commencement Speech
Anzac Commencement Speech Good afternoon everybody, Good Afternoon esteemed guests who had
gathered here today to commemorate Vietnam Veteran s Day here at the ANZAC cottage. Thank you
for inviting me here to witness such lovely gathering. What a beautiful day to celebrate, what a
wonderful place to be. In light of recent events, myself, along with another 31 lucky students across
the vicinity of Western Australia had the privilege to become student ambassadors and represent our
state for the 100th centenary anniversary of the ANZAC landing at Gallipoli in Turkey. it was a
chance for the current Western Australian youth to manifest pride, respect and honour towards the men
and women, families and youth who sacrificed every inch of their soul for the greater prosperity of our
nation. Undoubtedly it was an emotional ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As we enter the sites, the students were overwhelmed with emotions, upon hearing about the tragedies
that transfixed within the place. The tragedies of Gallipoli often turns a soldier into a statistic of
numbers, rather than a person. The positioning of the trenches allowed us to realise the close
proximity of the two opposing sides. Nothing could have prepared us with the marvellous sites of the
near vertical cliffs overlooking the pebble Anzac Cove. From the beach, we made our way up Shell
Green and into Lone Pine via Artillery Road. It s such an overwhelming sentiment to come into terms
with, knowing that only 100 years had passed since our soldiers made the very same hike, only that
time, there were neither stairs, nor memorials to mark the horrors that s about to face them. The hike
itself made us come into terms with the terrors that were brought upon them, such as the wavering
weather, the steepness of the hike and the close proximity of the enemies within the vicinity of the

The Advantages And Disadvantages Of Field Oriented Control
FIELD ORIENTED CONTROL The main drawback of sinusoidal commutation is that the motor
currents are controlled which are time variant and thus PI controllers have to operate on limited
bandwidth. Hence using field oriented control the currents in a, b, c reference frame are transformed to
d q reference frame. Thus controllers are not subjected from time variant currents and voltages and
limitation of controller frequency response and phase shift on motor speed and torque is eliminated.
Using Field Oriented Control, current control is largely unaffected by speed of rotation of the
motor[6].In the scheme of filed oriented control motor currents and voltages obtained from the motor
are transformed into d q reference frame. Measured currents from three stator phases these currents
which are now in the stator reference frame are converted into two phase using Clarke transformations
which are further converted into the corresponding rotor reference frame using Park transformation.
The resultant current obtained is dc which is easier for the PI controllers to operate. ... Show more

Social Security Cost Analysis
Giselle: 2009#1 Looking at the numbers, the very tangible loss of money money funneled seemingly
endlessly into space, into technologies that we abandon, into missions that may fail, into promises of
progress ten, twenty, fifty years from now it can be difficult to justify that immediate loss with the
seemingly insufficient immediate gain, the gain of nothing but knowledge so very intangible that it is.
Perhaps this is frustration is born from the fact that we have never done anything like this before we
have never before been able to leave home for something so infinitely vast. We have never before
been faced with the reality that we are so impossibly small. The world has grown so large in such a
very short time, and the average person ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the United States, Social Security comes first, taking about 21% of the federal budget in 2006, with
national defense coming second at 19%. Then, comes income security, Medicare, health, and the
interest incurred by the national debt before all others comes. All others (taking 6% of the federal
budget) refers to a multitude of things, including space and technology, but also including
international affairs, administration of justice, natural resources and environment, agriculture, and
energy, among others (Chamberlain). It is clear that when compared to major federal expenditures,
money funneled to space exploration is so fractional as to not be concisely accounted for. The question
regarding money, however, is not how much, necessarily, is being spent, but if it itself is necessary.
The question of necessity is, itself, difficult to answer no matter the evidence provided. When the
Social Security Act was first introduced as part of Franklin Roosevelt s New Deal, some thought it
was unnecessary. Some argue, today, that the US overspends on its defense sector and has since it
entered WWII. Space is different, though, because it is so very new to us. It is almost completely
unexplored, and surely has a vast wealth of resources useful to those on Earth, but it is neutral, and no
one nation can claim any of those resources. Ultimately, space is a playground for science, and it can
be difficult for the average American (who is not employed in a space technology industry) to justify
funding a venture that seems to be without

Cinematic Techniques In What Dreams May Come
Cinematic Technique Analysis
Can two tapestries made with similar thread, truly weave two different pictures? Surely if the broad
scope of each tapestry is conceived and developed with the same material interlaced throughout, the
end result will be similar. However, the tiny threads of difference woven amongst those similar strands
can result in one tapestry quite altered from the other. An example of this can be found in comparing
the film What Dreams May Come, directed by Vincent Ward, to Dante Alighieri s book The Inferno,
upon which it is based. The film follows Chris Nielsen as he searches Heaven and Hell for his lost
wife, just as Dante searched for his love in The Inferno. While the fibers of similarity look alike in this
book and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the film, Chris and Annie and their fates are the embodiment of good and evil. Despite these
oppositional forces, Ward shows that similarities exist as well. For example, multiple times throughout
the film they each wore blue. This color symbolizes peace, and even though both characters went
through very challenging trials, they were still able to find joy in the little moments. Additionally, at
different progression points of the film, Ward portrays times where Annie the embodiment of evil is a
help to Chris, and times where Chris the embodiment of good begins to succumb to the despair of evil.
Through this cinematic crossover, Ward creates the idea that there are times of good and evil in
everyone, rather than an undefiled superiority and distance of one from the other. Finally, there is the
cinematic urgency and dedication shown through Chris as he refuses to give up on finding and saving
Annie. This endurance eventually results in both Chris and Annie making it to Heaven, despite Annie
having committed suicide. Once there, Annie s appearance is changed, again through this use of
cinematic technique, conveying that rather than turning Chris to the darker side from seeking out a
sinner, Annie was instead turned to the side of good.

The Market For A Car
You re in the market for a car, but just not any vehicle. Specifically, you re hemmed in by budget
restrictions and can spend no more than $5,000, perhaps much less. The reality of the used car market
is that even clunkers can cost a few thousand dollars and that s exactly the type of vehicle you want to
avoid. However, with some careful research on your part, much patience, as well as satisfactory
negotiation skills, you can find a used car for under $5,000. Here s how to do it.
Manage Your Expectations
You might have a certain make and model in mind when choosing a reliable, low cost used car, but
your expectations should align with market realities. And those realities will be confirmed when you
shop for a car, study the ads, and research the car valuation sites.
First, you should know that car values fluctuate. Indeed, in times when gas prices are high, values of
economical cars rise and those for large sedans, SUVs and pickup trucks drop. Conversely, the
opposite happens when fuel prices are low.
Second, the more particular you are about a brand, especially premium or luxury brands, the more
costly a vehicle will be. You may have your eyes set on a BMW, but even a 3 Series approaching 20
years old will cost you. The reliability of an older vehicle becomes an issue; acquiring parts for some
foreign models can be pricey.
Technology is a State of Mind
Very few cars that are less than 10 years old can be had for $5,000 or less. Some compact models or
high mileage

Managing Acute Pain On Patients, Along With Post Operative...
Introduction
Managing acute pain in patients, along with post operative recovery pain, is an essential part of
nursing. Because it can affect each and every part of the human body, managing pain is important for
the health and safety of patients. Effective pain management can increase patient satisfaction and
overall well being, fulfilling the role of a nurse. A nurse must be able to look at ways to manage
patients pain, the ethical aspects of managing pain, along with how to educate patients on the matter.
Patient Centered Care in Pain Management As a nurse, establishing a care plan that is individualized
to a specific patient has the potential to increase positive psychosocial and physical patient outcomes.

Not only is visually assessing a patient s pain important, but so is having nurse patient interaction.
This includes asking open ended questions and listening to what patients have to say. It is important
not to rush the patient when they are answering so that they can answer to the best of their ability.
Accepting the answers patients give to questions asked means also trusting their answers. This will
give them a sense of safety and security (Baath, Wilde Larsson, Idvall, Hall Lord, 2012). Patient
controlled analgesia (PCA) is an option for helping manage pain in patients. By turning on the dosing
button of an infusion pump, patients can self administer appropriate doses of an analgesic within a
certain time frame. Using the PCA pump allows the patient to treat their pain in a safe way without
allowing the patient to overdose on the analgesia. Understanding the cause and effect relationship
between pain, analgesic administration, and relief is essential in order for a patient to be a candidate to
receive PCA therapy (Cooney et al., 2013). Authorized agent controlled analgesia (AACA) has the
same effects as PCA for those patients who are not eligible to independently use PCA. An authorized
individual activates the dose button for the patient when there is a pain response (Cooney et al., 2013).
Local anesthetics can be used for pain management during a dermal procedure. These can be either
injected or applied

The Three Categories Of Civil Peace
With every object that people have and every experience that people go though, they can be
categorized into three categories: needs, wants, and negatives. Wants and needs, the two positive
categories, are prioritized differently by everyone. People often misinterpret some parts of these
categories, believing certain wants are needs and vice versa. For example, some people see makeup as
a need to go outside, it is really just a want. This is how addictions form. When people categorize a
want as need, however subconsciously, they end up truly needing that, whether it be drugs, alcohol, or
even sugar. On the other hand, when people prioritize their wants, they often will be happier in life,
even though they are in worse situations than many of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

my heart really cared for, (Golden Touch 452). He comes upon this realization by putting his wants
over his needs, and realizes that that can be harmful. In this story, he changes to prioritize his needs
foremost after going through the trauma of almost losing his daughter. Additionally, in Warriors Don t
Cry, Melba s family feared for her safety, but they also felt that the push for integration was a god
given mission, (Melba 3). Melba was already experiencing bullying, and this would increase that, but
they felt that they needed to integrate Melba. After the suffering that she endured from other students,
people realized that skin color does not matter. Moreover, Civil Peace s Jonathan, after getting robbed
by thieves, questions, What is egg rasher? Did I depend on it last week? Or is it greater than other
things that went with the war? I say let egg rasher perish in the flames! (Civil Peace 394). He feels that
he is okay with the Ex Gratia(egg rasher) going away because he does depend on it. Even though he
underwent bad things because of it, he was prioritizing his needs above his wants. When people
prioritize necessities over what they want, they often go through bad situations, but are more content

Essay On Inherit The Wind
The battle between the relationship of science and religion has always been a controversial topic in
society. It has been a subject of study since the classical era from scientists, theologists, philosophers,
and regular citizens. It is understandable that the perspective on culture and religion are
unquestionably varied due to different geographical regions, but why are there so many heated debates
regarding the global discussion and what is it that causes those controversies? Is it possible that there
is more than two outlooks and theories? Jerome Lawrence and Robert E.Lee contrasts the two
perspectives in Inherit the Wind by bringing back an historical and legendary trial. Matthew Harrison
Brady, an established lawyer in America demonstrates his ideology in God. Addition to Mr. Brady, his
arch nemesis, Henry Drummond, defends his morals by expressing his vision that evolution is where
human come from.
Some scientists repetitively states that evolution has no conflict between the two debates; however,
this depends on what the factual definition of religion is. Majority of the people who have a religion

Kushner really talks about HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) and AIDS (acquired
immunodeficiency syndrome) in this play mainly. In 1981, the United States of America became the
first country to officially recognise a strange new illness [HIV/AIDS] among a small number of gay
men ( History ). In June of 1982, there was 355 cases of Kaposi s Sarcoma and/or serious
opportunistic infections had been reported to the CDC, which at the time the word or acronym for
HIV or AIDS had not been thought of yet ( History ). By the end of year 1983, the number of AIDS
diagnoses reported in the USA had risen to 3,064 and of these people 1,292 had died ( History ).
Kushner s book takes place in the 1980 s, so the reader can see why this would be so scary for the
characters in it. In this play, it is confirmed that Prior Walter and Roy Cohn both have HIV/AIDS, and
is speculated that Louis Ironson, Harper Pitt, Joe Pitt, and Belize have contracted HIV/AIDS based off
of the reading. People in America often see someone with a disease and look at them differently
because they have said disease. Kushner wants people to treat diseased and sick stricken people the
same way we treat healthy people. In the play, Louis leaves Prior due to the fact that he has AIDS and
Louis cannot handle the fact and is afraid. Roy actually tells his doctor that he does not have AIDS,

Accommodating the Daily Challenges of the Hearing Impaired...

People who are hearing impaired experience issues at school, work, and in their personal life.
Although there are varying degrees of hearing impairments, there are several accommodations that

accommodations may vary from person to person. The March of Dimes defines a hearing impairment
as the decreased ability to hear and discriminate among sounds. There are several degrees of hearing

It restricts questions that can be asked about an applicant s disability before a job offer is made, and it
requires that employers make reasonable accommodation to the known physical or mental limitations
of otherwise qualified individuals with disabilities, unless it results in undue hardship (US department
of education, 2011).
It s important that individuals with disabilities and their support system are educated regarding their
rights to education and work.
Issues At School
Individuals with hearing impairments will require more attention and assistance than students without
hearing loss. It can be easy to assume that a child can keep up with the class if everything is written on
the board. Children may also avoid sitting where they can see the board because they do not want to
draw attention to themselves. Unfortunately, teachers may subconsciously point out to the class the
accommodations of the student with a disability (Murphy, 2006).
One aspect that is especially important is an issue that may arise during an emergency. For hearing
impaired individuals an emergency can be scary and confusing because they may not know what to
do. An educator must not assume that the student will understand what to do by following classmates.
The student must be taught what to do in an emergency in a way that he/she will understand.

  • 2. Letter To Daughter Case Analysis It is with great grief that I write you this letter in regards to the passing of your daughter. I wish that my sincere condolences would suffice during your painful trials, however, considering the circumstance, neglecting to explain to you the reasoning for the actions that took place on the ship would be unjust on my part. My dear friends, you are at least owed an explanation for the tragic sacrifice of your daughter, of which I intend to give you. The motives behind the mission in question were as follows; 6 colonist nursing terminal illnesses awaited the serum carried in the EDS dispatched ship with great urgency. The problem arose from the fact that the Stardust, alike all EDS vessels, contains no more fuel than needed to arrive safely at its destination. For this reason any surplus of weight that has not been ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The fact of the matter is Marilyn put her needs ahead of a law she did not understand and must assume moral culpability. However, this is not a matter of retribution. When faced with such difficult circumstances, we must seek to bring about the least amount of pain to the greatest amount of people, and when reviewing the reasonable consequences to be expected; the death of these 7 men, against the additional hours of life we could have given Marilyn by allowing her to stay we made the practical choice. Please do not resent Mr. Barton, I must urge that he did everything in his power to save your daughter within reason and exhausted all possibilities. He even increased the speed of ship to decrease fuel consumption and bide her more time. Inevitably, there was no other choice but to jettison Marilyn. I assure you this was not easy for him. While we did what we must, we still extend apologies and sincerest regret that the situation occurred. Measures will be taken to prevent such things from happening again. We hope you can come to terms with our ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Ap Euro Peasant Rebellion Comparision Essays DBQ: Peasants revolts From 1524 to 1526 peasant revolts were occurring throughout the German states. Many causes and responses brewed out of these revolts. One cause is from religion issues (1,3,6) , Luther s idea of equality. Another cause is the peasant gaining power (2,8,9). As a result of these causes came out response, the most common response was riots and chaos (5,11,7). These revolts would end in thousands of rebel deaths and others are also killed. In the early 1500s religious reforms were constant throughout all of Germany, including the ideas of Martin Luther. Martin Luther brought the idea of equality to the peasants (1,3,6) , which in term started the revolts. In document 1 Leonhard van Eck states that the peasants were ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This document is written by peasants hence the encouragement for the revolt, although Lotzer might be saying this so that we may be the leader of this revolt and he is a craftsman so this might get more people to notice his craft, he then gains more money. Document 8 is the complete opposite perspective of the peasants gaining power and the revolt. Lorenz Fries is a catholic archbishop and the revolts are driven out of Luther s doctrines. He said that the peasants are troublesome and the revolt should be stopped, but he most likely said this to get people to turn their backs on Lutheranism and accept Catholicism. Although his report is a secret one so he probably wrote it secretly so that he would not be killed or hurt by the peasant s rebellion. In document 9, Caspar Nutzel, a noble, says that the peasants were blinded and they have gotten too strong. This document is also a response in that people have allowed the revolts to happen and the peasants have gone too far. Though this document should be approached with caution because he uses some absolute language in the regard to how the peasants act, and Nutzel might be stating this to keep his job as town councilor. The most common response to the revolts was chaos and rioting (5,11,7). In document 5, a theologian/journalist states what happened at Weinsburg when the peasants arrived there. ... • 4. A Normal Day In My Life It began like a normal day. I woke up at approximately five thirty, and I got dressed. I m not a girl who spends hours on her appearance although they tell me to. The producers that is. I sat down and drank my morning milk and ate my morning eggs in the darkness alone. They don t let people like us have family. They believe it would expose us. Society called us Fakers. They didn t even realize how accurate that name was. We were each assigned a number, all 238 of us. I was number 112. I was playing a sixteen year old girl who was semi popular and enjoyed biking, basketball, reading, cooking, and eating. I weighed 120 and was 5 6 . Exercise was a very important part of my life, so I had many things to do. I took my dog on a walk for thirty minutes. That s significantly shorter than I expected it to be. Our neighborhood usually takes about an hour and twelve minutes to get around. I guess I wasn t going at my usual slow pace. Not much to think about this morning. I met up with Mr. Coulette, my neighbor, who happened to not know of anything that was happening, is happening, or will be happening. His house was a little bit smaller than mine, about 50 feet smaller, but his front yard was 50 feet larger. He had four stories like me, but he only had one bathroom per story and two bedrooms per story. Although I had 12 rooms, I only used one, and the extra eleven were used for when Kevin came over with his crew. No one ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Nexus 9 Research Paper The year is 2019. Many technological advancements have been made, including establishing colonies on other planets and creating human androids to work on these hazardous planets. Tyrell Corporation has developed the latest model of androids called the NEXUS 6, referred to as Replicants. Superior to humans in strength and agility, these androids are used for slave labor despite having the same level of intelligence as their designers. There is only one flaw in the NEXUS 6 models they have the ability to develop human emotions and thus, develop the understanding that they are being used as slaves. Many revolts have already taken place as the Replicants become more aware. The only fail safe to stop this is the lifespan of the androids. The engineers only have the androids four years to live, preventing them from developing too many emotions or too much humanity. Those who do develop a sense of personhood attempt to escape bondage and travel to earth in search of their creators. This has been ruled illegal and a special police force, Blade Runner, is created to hunt down Replicants who have come to earth and terminate them. I scream as I m peering at the screen, causing my mom to walk in and hear, The breakfast of a champion coming from the television. Why did I want to eat Wheaties cereal so bad when my mom provided other delicious cereals, like Fruity Pebbles or Lucky Charms everyday in our pantry? Being a young child in sports, I simply wanted to be that champion. As I watched the advertisement, I noticed the athletes they featured and I wanted to be just like them. However, Wheaties on the other hand lacks in their ethos towards their audience. • 9. Solving the Foreclosure Crisis- Decrease Interest Rates,... Foreclosure is an important issue in the United States and needs to be ended or decreased rapidly as soon as possible for the sake of America s economy. The foreclosure of homes has decreased the state of the economy, and rendered millions of Americans homeless. There are four key solutions that will stop foreclosures in the United States and able millions of American to keep their homes. The first solution is having banks lower their interest rates for all citizens who are in financial need of an interest rate deduction. The second solution is creating jobs that are able to sustain through an economic crisis. The third solution is for states and towns to conduct public seminars on how to manage and budget ones finances during financially ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The disadvantages of having banks lower their interest rates are, people may feel less obligated to pay their mortgage payments on time because the interest rates are lower, despite the jobs that are available through people owning homes there still may not be enough jobs to go around causing there to be very little change in the amount of homes in foreclosure. Creating jobs that are able to sustain through an economic crisis will stop foreclosures because if citizens lose their jobs in an economic crisis they will be able to quickly find another job. This would be beneficial in the fight to end foreclosures because people would have the funds to pay their mortgage and any other financial obligations. How one would go about creating new jobs is by developing new technology, products, and services that would change the way people live their everyday life while helping them to save money. Hybrid vehicles are an example of a new technology that has currently kept and created new jobs for citizens in the U.S. Hybrid vehicles are perfect examples of a new technology that has changed the way people live their life while helping them to save money. • 10. Asians And Asian American Culture This class helped me realize how ignorant I really was about the Asian American culture as well as the Native American culture. I generally believed that I was more culturally sound than I actually am. I believed that I knew more about these cultures than I really did and was shocked to realize that I fed into some of the stereotypes. I knew that Asian Americans did well academically because their parents valued education and had them study more than their peers, however I did not realize that culturally boys were expected to succeed more academically than girls were. I believed that girls were equally held up to a standard as boys were. Watching the film clips related to Asians and Asian Americans was an eye opening experience. Just as African Americans are told that their natural hair is not good enough and it is internalized, it appears it is the same for many Asian Americans in relation to their eyes. The film clip about the young girl being taken to have plastic surgery on her eyes at the age of 12 because she felt that she would be more beautiful was a heart breaking scene to watch. It never occurred to me that a feature that is specific to that particular group would become something that has almost become shameful to a lot of people. To have an eye surgery is a serious decision one has to make and for that little girl to be so sure that she wants her eyes operated on at 12 years old was something that I could relate to, but not understand. • 11. Analysis Of The Movie The Night By F. Scott Fitzgerald... Dilsey Gibson, a black woman, serves as a mother figure for the children and a caretaker for the rest of the family. Dilsey feels as though she really is a part of the family. However, Mrs. Compson and a grown up Jason disagree and feel that she is easily replaceable. It goes against community and identity in the South to have a black woman step out of place, and Jason feels that she does step out of place quite often. Dilsey is shown as a stabilizer when she defends Miss Quentin. Faulkner writes, [Mrs. Compson] come on and lay down now, she said. I find her in ten minutes. Mrs. Compson shook her off. Find the note, she said. Quentin left a note when he did it (283). This is showing that Dilsey can figure Mrs. Compson out and wants to protect her. She believes that Miss Quentin will come back and wants to help spare Mrs. Compson some heartache. Even though Mrs. Compson treats her poorly, she still looks out for her. I believe that at this time in the South, black people knew white people better than white people knew black people. White people could not see past the prejudice. • 12. Rwanda Genocide Essay Imagine living a life of fear, turmoil, with death all around. Hearing gun shots being fired, death chants, machete use, dead bodies everywhere. Afraid to close your eyes at night to rest, yet more afraid to wake up in the morning. To sustain your life and the life of your loved ones you must hide out, kill others, watch your neighbors be killed at the hands of the enemy. Knowing if you are caught you could be forced to murder your own family, be raped, be held captive, be starved to death, and most likely be killed. In 1994, this was the life many faced in Rwanda. Rwanda has become a synonym for one of the worst genocides of the 20th century (Lemarchand, (n.d.), p. 483). Rwanda is a small country located near the center of Africa. Kigali is the capital which is located in the center of the country. In 1991, the population of Rwanda was 7.7 million, according to the national census. • 13. Summary of the Merchant and the Demon from the Arabian... The first night s story in Arabian Nights is that of the Merchant and the Demon. Told by Shahrazad, the story offers a remarkable parallel to her own situation as she faces immanent death. Thus, the story of the Merchant and the Demon is told as a parable within the frame story, presenting a poignant analogy for Shahrazad s own situation. The Merchant and the Demon is a short tale but one filled with themes such as power, guilt, justice, and moral responsibility. Through the clever analogy with her own situation, Shahrazad also explores the theme of creative problem solving in tricky situations. Moreover, the story illustrates the core differences between pre Islamic and Islamic values in Arabian society. Because the theme of gender roles and norms are not present within the Merchant and the Demon, the story shows how sexism is simply a form of general political and social oppression. Just as the king seeks to kill Shahrazad, the demon in the first night s story also wants to kill the merchant for a perceived transgression. A traveling merchant stops under a shady tree for a lunch break and casually tosses a date pit onto the ground. After he does so, a demon appears and states, When thou atest the date, and threwest aside the stone, it struck my son upon the chest, and, as fate had decreed against him, he instantly died. • 14. Analysis Of The Movie Stagecoach Despite my childhood love for westerns, particularly those starring John Wayne, I had never seen Stagecoach in its entirety. Therefore, I highly anticipated watching this movie in my class. While not one of my favorite westerns, I enjoyed Stagecoach and appreciated it for how it helped define the genre. This film follows a group of people aboard the titular mode of transportation as they travel from one town, through Apache territory, to another. The passengers include a prostitute run out of town (Claire Trevor), the driver (Andy Devine), a gambler who fought for the confederacy (John Carradine), an alcoholic doctor (Thomas Mitchell), a wife of a solider (Louise Platt), a Marshal escorting an outlaw (George Bancroft), a whiskey salesman (Donald Meek), a corrupt banker (Berton Churchill) and an outlaw out for revenge (John Wayne). This ensemble cast worked perfectly together. Each actor brought believability and depth to their role, while also crafting a memorable character. With that being said, a few performers stand out. Wayne, in his first major role, is already incredibly charismatic as Ringo Kid. Trevor excels at making her character more human and relatable, an essential aspect of the film. Mitchell, who won an Oscar for best supporting actor, is great. He s funny and brings depth and humanity to his character. Lastly, Bancroft impresses with his portrayal of a level headed, though not entirely pure, lawman. Although I very much liked the acting, my favorite ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Often, the title depends on who is discussing the war and on what side of the war they were fighting for during the conflict. Many historians today believe that it should be referred to as the South African War, so as to include everyone who resided in the South African region at that time. Analysis Of Adp As A System For Federal Mogul Analysis of ADP as a HRIS System for Federal Mogul Now that we have taken a look at the minimum required hardware and software of the ADP system, let s examine ADP as a Human Resource Information System, or HRIS for short. A great HRIS system provides critical data about the human resource function of the business as well as helping to create a follow through on the business s mission and goals. HRIS systems help to reduce organizational costs by contributing to the efficiency of the human resource management function. HRIS systems help to automate critical human resource management functions (Chauhan, Sharma, Tyagi, 2011, p. 58). HRIS systems contain information on employees, job and work conditions, positions, payroll and benefits, and HR events such as recruitment, training, development, performance appraisals, and terminations (Chauhan, Sharma, Tyagi, 2011, p. 59). Although ADP offers all of these features, Federal Mogul utilizes ADP specifically for the payroll and benefits function. There have been minor recessions from 1980 to 2008. The Great Recession starting as a result of complex financial products, which masked debt risk (McGahey, 2014). The Great Recession was not a result of trade deficit itself. The question naturally arises; can the U.S. maintain trade deficits indefinitely? Overall, Carbaugh argues that there is no economic reason why the United States cannot continue to sustain current account deficits (Carbaugh, 2013). Similarly, Karczmar quoting Herb Stein suggests that if the U.S. deficit is a problem, and there is no solution to the problem, then there is no problem (Karczmar, 2004, p. 9). There are risks in maintaining chronic deficits, however. The focus turns to analyzing if the benefits outweigh the risks, and if not, what can be done to reduce the deficit without negatively impacting the U.S. economy overall. Both Carbaugh, and Karczmar s risk assessments, options for keeping or reducing the deficit, and impacts of deficit reduction are explored below. Carbaugh explains that the U.S. media and trade unions myopically focus on merchandise trade imbalance while glossing over the fact that services balance has been positive (Carbaugh, 2013). All others (taking 6% of the federal budget) refers to a multitude of things, including space and technology, but also including international affairs, administration of justice, natural resources and environment, agriculture, and energy, among others (Chamberlain). It is clear that when compared to major federal expenditures, money funneled to space exploration is so fractional as to not be concisely accounted for. Surely if the broad scope of each tapestry is conceived and developed with the same material interlaced throughout, the end result will be similar. Additionally, at different progression points of the film, Ward portrays times where Annie the embodiment of evil is a help to Chris, and times where Chris the embodiment of good begins to succumb to the despair of evil. Through this cinematic crossover, Ward creates the idea that there are times of good and evil in everyone, rather than an undefiled superiority and distance of one from the other. Finally, there is the cinematic urgency and dedication shown through Chris as he refuses to give up on finding and saving Annie. This endurance eventually results in both Chris and Annie making it to Heaven, despite Annie having committed suicide.
