Lavender Housing Research Paper
A current issue that that has affected higher education is lavender housing for first year students. This
topics has affected higher education, because a lot of students and professionals are not trans
knowledgeable, and they don t understand bigendered, cross living, gender binary system, and
dominate culture. In the state of North Carolina there are only a few schools with lavender housing,
Guilford College, Warren Wilson College, and recently Duke University. Even though, these schools
offer lavender housing, they are still segregating members of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender,
Queer or Questioning, Asexual or Ally (LGBTQA) community.

When I President of the Residence Hall Association at North Carolina Central University, there was a
student that was transitioning from a male to a female that identified as, she. She felt that she could
use the restrooms on the female floor. This was an issue because she was still identified as, he, on her
driver s license. She approached me and said Can you help me I feel, hated, mistreated, alone, and
scared , the only thing I could tell her was, I can see if we have space available for a single room with
a restroom included . That hurt me because I was in this leadership position, representing residence
life, and we didn t even have a gender neutral restroom for a soon to be transgender to take a shower
in peacefully. Unfortunately, that student moved off campus, and had to pay a housing termination fee,
and that was one less student in a room. I want to be that young student affairs professional that
anybody can talk to; I also want to make sure we have facilities on campus that cater to the LGBTQ
community. If there isn t a lavender housing LLC on campus, lets start one. We can start by putting
adapting a lavender housing floor LLC, then moving towards a lavender building that provides
knowledge about the LGBTQA culture, and people who have contributed to the

The Fight for Freedom
How did freedom for blacks come about? The Civil Rights Movement took place in the late 1950 s
though the 1960 s, however; Tricia Andryszewski informs her readers that Black Americans had been
working for change since before the civil war, but mainly beyond. Some of the most prominent civil
rights leaders include Martin Luther King Jr., Rosa Parks, Malcolm X, Philip Randolph, and Bayard
Rustin. The two main goals of the civil rights activists being, equal rights and treatment for all races.
As a result, the I Have a Dream speech was written by Martin Luther King, Jr., a man who Led

statements, King mostly inspires the supporters of the civil rights movement, as he acknowledges his
direct reason for their presence and for his insightful words to the nation. King uses now as a sense
urgency to assert time, and includes God as a technique to increase his audience s inspiration by
attacking at their emotions, while incorporating purpose. Traditionally, the purpose of a speech
impacts the attitudes and feelings of the author s audience. Martin Luther King Jr. socially and
personally affected the attitude of his audience. They regarded his speech with awe, astonishment,
determination, the feeling of scared, all the while being impressed. Mike Magner, who witnessed the
speech, recollects his reaction, A shudder went through me as Martin finished. I now knew that I had
witnessed something beyond my wildest expectations...Everyone on the mall and a whole lot of
people watching on their tiny television sets were aware that they had just experienced something
transcendent (Magner). Magner would indirectly agree that the attitude of the audience would indicate

The Bible Is Not A Children s Book Essay
The Bible is not a children s book. Not only is it beyond the length and reading level appropriate for
younger audiences, it often covers what some parents might consider inappropriate topics. Imagine
finding an illustrated children s bible containing graphic stories about talking to ghosts or children
being burned alive as sacrifices to God. These are troubling stories that actually appear within the
Hebrew Bible, which even some adults may feel uncomfortable discussing. Academic scholarship of
the Bible, however, should not be influenced by such discomfort. This has led a handful of scholars to
study these death related experiences within ancient Israelite contexts. The last thirty years have
revealed at least two contemporary topics of conversations between scholars within this subfield:
necromancy and child sacrifice among ancient Israelite religion. Typically, dialogue about ancient
Israelites is framed among the broader beliefs and practices of peoples from the surrounding
geographical region including the Canaanites, Egyptians, and other ancient peoples; these topics are
no exception. While, there is also no consensus among modern scholars, the majority of academics
appear to accept both child sacrifice and necromancy as a historical practice belonging to the worship
of Yahweh. Nonetheless, these scholars continue to do so with varying degrees of beliefs about the
particular conditions during which these controversial customs were performed.

The Government Places Emphasis On Freedom
Brandon Lee Mrs. Haedtler American Literature Period 4 21 November 2014 iSearch The government
places emphasis on freedom in America, in face of evidence that presents the deceptiveness of our
dignitary. Although the word freedom lies between our country s documents and beliefs, the NSA
(National Security Agency) tramples what took years of bloodshed and development to circumvent its
citizen s privacy through surveillance. According to internetworldstats, 13% of American citizens don

to destroy privacy, internet freedom and basic liberties for people around the world with this massive

amend for his wrongdoings, others view Snowden as a hero. Although Snowden s act may have hurt
the economy and created skepticism overseas and domestically, he continues to fight this cyberwar to
end unlawful surveillance. NSA Surveillance hurts the economy because many people are skeptical
about the online services. Users fear that these online services would allow surveillance of their
private information. According to Kim Zetter, a senior staff reporter who specializes in cybercrime,
privacy, and securtity, NSA surveillance causes economic losses to US businesses due to lost sales and
declining customer trust (Zetter). Daily workflow in modern society is reliant on online services.
Goods are now bought through services such as Amazon or Alibaba, where customers input their
credit information, name, and address. The NSA has access to this information, which could be used
against the user. The NSA takes advantage of technology being sent overseas by intercepting products

A Critique Of Service Quality Models
Regarding the various service quality models discussed in section 2.3.1 to 2.3.9 the gap model
considers the perceptions and expectations of the customers, the gap being the difference between
expectations and perceptions (P E). The model resulted in five dimensions that are generic in nature.
However, other models such as Technical and Functional Quality Model , Perception only Model and
Evaluated Performance and Normed Quality Model consider only the perceptions of the customers.
Technical and Functional Quality Model describes three components such as technical quality (the
quality received by the customer), functional quality (how the quality is received by the customer) and
corporate quality (how quality is delivered by the organization). In the Perceptiononly ... Show more

A Critique on Service Quality Measurement and Evaluation SERVQUAL is a widely used instrument
to measure customer evaluations of service quality [48]. Despite a leading instrument in measuring
service quality, a number of studies have raised concern about it [156,168 171]. These criticisms
relates to conceptual, methodological and analytical issues in SERVQUAL. The primary issue raised
in the literature is the conceptualization of service quality as the difference between perception and
expectation [159]. Cronin and Taylor, reiterate their views against the disconfirmation based
SERVQUAL scale of measuring service quality and continued to be proponents of their perception
only approach to service quality measurement. Further, the use of the perception and expectation gap
measure of service also raises related analytical concerns about its low reliability, poor discriminant
validity and spurious correlations [168 170]. Parasuraman et al. indicate that on the issue

Hitler s View Of The Jewish People Essay
From 1939 to 1945 the world saw actions and atrocities unparalleled in the War against Germany, the
legacies of such actions we are still seeing today. Perhaps the most notable atrocity that was born from
this war was the persecution of Jewish people in Germany and around Europe and the corresponding
murder of up to 6 million Jewish people . When Adolf Hitler s National Socialist party seized power
on January 30, 1933, there were approximately 525,000 Jewish people living in Germany, less than
one percent of the population. Throughout the years leading up to the official start of World War Two
the Jewish people were treated harshly and condemned for no other reason than the fact that they were
Jewish, in 1935 the Nuremberg laws furthered this condemnation by defining what it meant to be a
Jew, deprived Jews of German citizenship and legally prohibited them from a variety of occupations.
Families were split apart and many families fled as far as they could have from the horrors of a
country they once called home. Hitler s view of the Jewish people is highlighted in his publication
Mein Kampf :
A Jew is and remains a typical parasite, a sponger who like a noxious bacillus keeps spreading as soon
as a favorable medium invites him. And the effect of his existence is also like that of spongers:
wherever he appears, the host people die out. The Jew today is the great agitator for the complete
destruction of Germany.

NAVAIR In Peace And War
In 1921, Admiral William A. Moffett established the Bureau of Aeronautics (BuAer) with the help of
Congress. Under the enthusiastic and energetic leadership of Admiral Moffett, naval aviation was
institutionalized to provide the Untied States with preparation for World War II (Hagan and McMaster

establish a bureau that oversaw naval advancements and preparations for future wars, but it developed
a sense of responsibility among naval aviators. As the BuAer expanded and became a vitally

As a developing civilian pilot and a future naval officer, naval air power is the most significant aspect
of the Navy. Since naval air power developed after numerous ship to ship altercations, it is believed
that the ideas of naval air power developed from the theories of Alfred T. Mahan. According to
Professor Rubel, the Dean of Naval Warfare Studies at the Naval Warfare College, Naval aviation has
established and developed no separate theoretical basis for either its own justification or employment
(Rubel 64). Alfred T. Mahan strategies ranged from having complete and utter control of all
movements across the sea, to having a large Navy that is capable of controlling and using force to
either preserve our territories or deter enemies at all costs. Naval air power piggy backed off of Alfred
T. Mahan s theories and strategies, and eventually composed three naval air power operations that
seize, maintain, and exercise command of the sea/air (Rubel 64). Whether these operations are through
long distance missile attacks, bombardments, or even land based amphibious attacks with the Marine

Essay The Role And Functions Of New Zealand Government
The New Zealand Government has made significant changes to the economy throughout the last 15
years. The operation and organisation of business activity in New Zealand has been affected by this
changing economy. All aspects of the New Zealand Government have been altered. The reason for this
change was to improve the performance by being more efficient. The key reforms are privatisation and
corporatisation of State Owned Enterprises (SOEs) and restructuring government agencies.
The most significant change was the election of the Labour Party in 1984, which ended the Muldoon
Administration. At this time, New Zealand was in a rut because of poor economic management by the
previous Government. Unemployment was high in 1983 and still ... Show more content on

Some restructuring and reforms affected these sectors.
The New Zealand Government owned many enterprises such as State Insurance, Air New Zealand,
New Zealand Rail, The Bank of New Zealand, and Telecom. In 1987 most of these assets were sold.
By doing this it meant the Government could pay off large accumulated debts and allow these
companies to become more efficient. After the sale of these SOEs that the New Zealand Government
has become more efficient too, they can focus on their primary task by providing essential services.
Some of these services include public hospitals, education, benefits, and emergency relief.
From the reforms came a radical change in New Zealand trade. In 1984 the Government devalued the
New Zealand Dollar by 20%, then in 1985 introduced a floating exchange rate. Along with that, the
removal of agricultural subsidies and import tariffs. It allowed New Zealand to be a fairer country to
trade with. As a direct result, the trade competitive index jumped from 0.72 on 1985 to 0.98 in 1987.
Foreign investment increased as the New Zealand Dollar strengthened against the green back and the
pound. Consequently, importing and exporting firms benefited from the change in policies.
The services that the New Zealand Government provides have ongoing restructuring (which means
altering an already established department) in the State Sector. The State Sector Act 1988, which

During January of 1629 it was decided by parliament to legally try to reduce the power held by the
crown. In so doing it was found that Popery and placing taxes on the people without their consent was
treason (Kagan 454). Popery was especially bad in England because it was in England that the king
was also the head of the church and could make any religious policies he desired.
When parliament declared Charles I guilty of treason England was full of mixed emotions. Those who
followed the king believed that only through submission to divine authority could they be true
Christians. Dissenters were able to gain control thus beheading Charles, and unknowingly creating a
dictator (Tomlinson 3).
Royalists were those who supported the king. Their name was derived from Caballeo (Spanish) this
term denoted someone who was Catholic and had an extreme dislike for Protestants (Chapman 57).
Roundheads were those who supported anyone but the king. Their name referred to the apprentices of
the day, these apprentices caused conflicts to escalate into violence and in turn caused many people to
flee the cities (Chapman 58).
With compromise now nearly impossible parliament was not about to change. It could not change
because: Parliament was already so far ahead, Religion could be used to control and sway the people,
and Charles was stubborn (Buchan 53/54). Oliver Cromwell emerges as the leader of the dissenters

Creation And The Persistence Of Evil By Levenson
In Creation and the Persistence of Evil , Levenson asserts that God s divine omnipotence originates
from his battle with rather than banishment of evil. There are a few textual facts to consider in analysis
of this statement. In an initial class discussion, we examined the fact that God did not create evil. He
created what was and what had the potential to be good (e.g. light, man), separating it from what is
deemed as evil (e.g. darkness). For instance, he did not create the tree of knowledge of good and evil,
but instead drew boundaries. Yet this concept from Genesis conflicts with one that arises in Psalms
104:26. This verse states that God created the Leviathan, a sea monster, and later kills him in a battle (

When the world trade center was first opened in 1937, it was considered to be one of the greatest
construction projects in United States history. The twin towers, standing at 1,368 feet tall and 1,362

only was the World Trade Center an institute for office space and shopping, but it also served as a

Symptoms And Treatment Of Dengue Fever
Dengue fever is a viral infection that is spread by the tiger mosquito (Aedes Aegypti). It has black and
yellow strips and usually bites in the early morning or at dawn. The virus enters and breeds in white
blood cells. Symptoms typically start appearing five to eight days after being ill. The virus has five
diverse styles of increasing severity. Infection with one category gives lifetime immunity to it and
short term immunity to the other categories. The dengue virus isn t transmittable and can t be spread
from individual to individual. Maximum individuals will only experience mild symptoms such as an
simple fever.
How do you get viral fever?
Viral fever is usually transmitted via the air by droplets from diseased folks, or by touching plague
ridden secretions.
Treatment options
Antimalarial drugs are accessible for the treatment of malaria and even seasonal viral fever; quite the
reverse, there is no drug available for the treatment of dengue. It is treated with helpful measures such
as blood transfusion and fluid restoration. However, the prescription used in malaria fundamentally
depends on where the septicity was acquired and on the type of infecting parasite.

As a practitioner in the social care field, I understand how important it is to implement an effective
plan of care that is delivered at the tight time and place. This needs to be a partnership between the
patient and the principle caregivers.
Death is often associated with those who have a life limiting condition and often receiving what is
known as pallet of care, which can be in a hospice, okay home or hospital. We know death because in
many different settings including home and sadly in the custody setting, these can be very different
circumstances, which can be, and including sudden death or suicide. However where in when people
die together with specific health needs, socio economic status, gender and ethnic city will affect
communication with others during the dying process. We have a duty of care to be open and honest to
dispel preconceived ideas, support individuals thoughts and support feelings with clear skilled
communication by the multidisciplinary team.
However if we solely concentrated on the biomedical approach to its delivery we would only provide
symptomatic management for the condition itself with possible symptoms and treatments (Rogers,
2009, pg.71). It should also be pointed out that there are to be expected clashes, as the truth is not
always interpreted, as

In 1992, Jean Murray Walker, in her essay, High Fantasy, Rites of Passage and Cultural Value , wrote
that children growing up in American Society experience everywhere around them the collision of
powerful interests and values. Even though they may be nurtured within a family structure, chances
are they are NOT indoctrinated into a clearly defined community of values. (Walker 109) Instead,
materialism prevails, and popular fantasy in which good (us!) prevails against evil (them!) is standard

(Chappell 22) While Gaiman s The Graveyard Book takes a different approach and delves into what
is, by all accounts, unknown and unseen; it more than raises the question of what happens when one

American Exploration In The 1500 s
The early 1500 s was known in history as The Age of Exploration. At the time anyone who was
involved with exploration had their own motives such as wealth, trade, glory, and the spread of
Christianity. People became more involved with exploration because it created new trading routes,
applied new technologies, created economic goals, and rise of nations. Exploration in the 1500 s
relates back to US history because during the Age of Exploration America was founded.
Portugal took the lead in search of the first all water route to Asia. To control trades with Asia was
Portugal s number one priority. Portuguese sailors used a ship named caravel to sail the seas. It had a

Heritage buildings have higher capital growth than newer properties, as they are not competitors of

Most heritage listed homes should achieve an increase in value, provided they are well maintained.
Residents themselves consider a listed home to be of higher value, and want to see their homes and

Comparing Antigone To Creon
The play Antigone is about two brothers who kill each other in battle, one is buried one isn t and laws
are placed in order to prevent it from happening. A sister comes in to bury his brother despite the laws
and risk potential death in the process. The person who put these laws into place is called Creon, who
wants the person who buried the body to face justice. The sister who committed this crime is
Antigone, who is also the character that I m contrasting with Creon.
Antigone, while being the sibling to the two brothers, is also related to Creon. You would assume this
would cause Creon to not consider killing his blood and also is actually his son s bride. Instead, he
chooses to be relentless and even tell to her sister, Ismene, Why not? There are other fields for him to
plough. This choice was a big contributor to Creon s becoming of a tragic hero. It shows to Antigone
that he doesn t want her brother buried by any means necessary even if it means killing his own blood.
This also leads to the scene where Haemon, Creon s son, confronts his about the killing of his bride. ...

These are seen in their first conflict. She tells Creon that she buried her brother anyway for the simple
fact that Zeus did not announce those laws to me. And justice living with the gods below sent no such
laws for man. So she proceed because of that very reason. Creon believes he is doing the work of the
gods for them, so she, in a way, is disobeying the gods. We don t know where he got this idea from but
he s been thinking he was doing the right thing all along. So with this he eventually confirms that
Antigone will die. How this advances the plot is her future husband will come confront her about it as
said in the last paragraph. This however just makes Creon more angry and more inclined to let her

The Aztec Empire
We are the Mexica, but are now known as the Aztec. We are the indigenous people of the Valley of
Mexico, rulers of the Aztec empire. We were strong and dominant and worked as mercenary soldier;
hired professional militias who fought for other groups. We use to live in Aztlan before we made our
journey and founded our new home Tenochtitlan. The legend of finding our territory starts from an
order we received from a vision from our central deity, Huitzilopochtli.
Huitzilopochtli (hummingbird of the left or of the south) was the Sun and War god. We were
instructed to leave our home and depart on an expedition to find the promise land. Our god spoke
prophecy to us and told us about his vision. He told us when we saw an eagle perched on a prickly
pear cactus devouring a snake that we would reach our new home, the place we would build our
powerful empire. After a centuries voyage, in 1325, we reached the Lake of Texcoco, in the middle of
it there was an island and on this island low and behold Huitzilopochtli prophecy that was spoken over
us was fulfilled. There was an eagle on a cactus eating a snake. We had finally reached our promise
land where we ended our vigorous pilgrimage and found our resting place and home of our new
dominant kingdom. We called it Tenochtitlan, place of the prickly pear. Tenochtitlan ultimately was an
island, inside the walls of our city it was crisscrossed with canals dividing the city into four cardinal
directions. We set it up along gridline and

Is Tachylectin 5a A Protein Found During The Immune System...
Tachylectin 5A is a protein found in the immune system of the Japanese horseshoe crab, Tachypleus
tridentatus. Tachylectin 5A, which has a PBD reference number of 1JC9, is mainly found in the
hemolymph plasma of horseshoe crabs (1). This protein was determined on June 8th, 2001 via x ray
diffraction (1). The X ray diffraction results in an absorbance of 2.01 Å (2). It shows that the protein
contains 269 residues, and the molecular weight ot is 380 400 kDa (2). Proteins similar to tachylectin
5A have been found in various organisms like slime molds, sponges, bony fish, and lancelets (3).
Tachylectin 5A is structurally related to the fibrinogen γ fragment, which is found in mammals
plasma; and it is similar to a protein in humans called ficolin, which is involved in host defense
through nonself recognition (4).
Tachylectin 5A is an ellipsoidal molecule that is an asymmetrical monomer, which is subdivided into
three different domains that interact with each other (2). The primary structure of Tachylectin 5A
constitutes 269 amino acid residues (1). The amino acid composition of this protein has a cis peptide
bone between Arg 218 and Cys 219 (3). It contains one protein modification called prryolidone
carboxylic acid, which is the twenty fourth amino acid in the sequence (1). And the secondary
structure of the protein consists of 16% alpha helical and 24% beta sheets. There are 9 helices with 44
amino acid residues and 19 beta sheets with 66 residues involved in total (1). The

Break The Glass Ceiling
The glass ceiling was first introduced in the 1980 s and is a transparent barrier that women are blocked
into which prevents them from moving up not just at their job but, prevents them from moving up
simply because the gender is female. Since the early 1700 s women have been fighting to become
equal to their male counterpart and still today the battle to break the glass ceiling continues. There are
many discrimination women face in the workplace which Is not limited to their wages in comparison
to men, sexual harassment and job segregation. Women can seek and achieve the highest level of
education but in the corporate world a woman will be kept from reaching the highest paid or reputable

The Renaissance and Baroque periods in European history played an important role in the
development of humanities in their respectable age. During these periods it established a time of

The Renaissance period also gave birth to the natural sciences that included astronomy, geology and
evolution. The 16th and 18th century Baroque period was known throughout Europe, North and South
America but originated in Rome, Italy. The Baroque period gave way to a time of emotionally
expression through paintings, art, music, literature and politics as its platform. The Roman Catholic
churches became influential during the Baroque period because of religious transformation as a
reaction to the Protestant Reformation. The Roman Catholic Church decided to use Baroque art to
communicate religious and biblical themes to their advantage by requesting painters to paint religious
pictures. Catholic painter Peter Paul Rubens drew inspiration from his religious background and
painted the Marie de Medici to show his respect to the Roman Catholic Church. The Roman Catholic
churches purpose for using religious paintings was to reach the less fortunate of their society. Those
who were uneducated and in the minority sector; by this they would connect and reach others so that
they would return to their belief in the catholic faith. During the Baroque period the Catholic faith
praised the church for their power and influence. The Baroque art movement focused on unity and
harmony and incorporated a style that consists of drama. This type of art was forceful, sensual,

Why I Chose Chicago University
In honesty, reading through the essay questions really sparked my interest in the University of
Chicago. The prompts (that were proposed by students who clearly have a proactive role in their own
education) promote thinking and consideration beyond the cookie cutter, Why do you want to go here?
college application. I would love to discuss how to compare apples and oranges, odd numbers strange
characteristics, and paradoxes our society faces with a class full of peers equally interested and
invested in the conversation. The fact that the University fosters and encourages such creativity and
free thinking even among its applicants drew my attention.
I know that I will not be manufactured and trained to find answers but instead encouraged to discover
the why in whatever field I choose at the University. My interests are broad and far reaching, touching
everything from math and calculus to government and law. I love to read but also to play music and
solve chemistry problems; though I consider pursuing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
With not only the Smart Museum but also the nearby Chicago Symphony, the University offers a
wealth of cultural experiences to its students. Within the University, I can participate in music and art
in a well rounded education. I would love to play oboe and English horn and percussion within the
university. The University satisfies my desires for artistic opportunities outside of class, both within
the school and within the city.
I look to learn and grow as both a student and as an individual as I enter college. As a school with the
resources, faculty, and programs to foster free thought and discover, the University of Chicago meets
and exceeds any hopes I could have for a college experience. I would love to become a part of campus
life and participate in those discussions to improve both myself as well as, I hope, my

Chancelor Johnathan Bennett, known workwise as Chance the Rapper, is an American rapper,
vocalist, songwriter, record producer, and philanthropist from Chicago, Illinois. Last year, Chance the
Rapper released a mixtape entitled Coloring Book which received instantaneous and critical acclaim
upon release. One of the reoccurring critiques spoke primarily on how much Chance s personal faith,
beliefs and spirituality played a unique and vital role in making the mixtape such a work of art.
Coloring Book is Chance the Rapper s third mixtape. It is unique in the sense that it is equally as much
of a gospel mixtape as it is rap. We re not just talking about a gospel choir in the background or an

Back in the 1800s most waste that ships carried were dumped in our oceans without much thought.
The difference from then to now is that the dump 200 years ago was biodegradable dump now about
14.4 million tons of our waste is plastic which is not always biodegradable according to the EPA and
that number is rapidly increasing every year. Our oceans are massively being affected and so are we in
ways unimaginable like the fact that our fish are ingesting chemicals that is in the plastics in the sea
and we are being fed these toxic chemicals. Maybe if citizens have a better understanding of what is
going on in our oceans they ll decide to do something about it. Plastic pollution is the biggest threat in

Another major health risk that occurs when our oceans are being polluted is that the seafood becomes
contaminated with chemicals. Chemicals are beginning to move up the food chain and soon into our
plates. Research and studies show that plastic is absorbed by animals when it floats in waters and
when these innocent fish and marine life ingest these foods it is endangering the marine ecosystem as
a whole. Now that we know how it is affecting us how does it reach our oceans to start with? Some of
it does come from ships that are sailing by but 80% of it comes from land. Most storm drains have a
common end point which is into our oceans. And lets say Johnny is waking down the street and eating
a lollipop and he litters the wrapper. Next thing you know it rains and that wrapper is swept away with
the water and into the storm drain. That drain leads into our ocean and that plastic wrapper is going to
be floating for a very long time. These systems are all a cycle but the problem is the cycle is a one way
street and that trash you threw onto the street will never come back to the street but will stay in our
oceans killing marine life. We can t only blame the consumers for the things occurring in our world. If
less plastic packaging were used and more paper or glass packaging were used it would really benefit
the world. Looking at plastic water bottles many say that they are recycled or reusable but they aren t

The Contribution Of Albert And Victoria s Popularity
At first Albert was not popular with the British public because he was a foreign prince; however that
soon change when he became more involve with his new country such as taking on a growing number
of chairmanship such as the Royal Society of Arts and was active in exercising his role. Albert was
also fascinated by science, the arts, technology, trade, and industry, and he was wholeheartedly
committed to modernity and progress. His bourgeoning portfolio of non political interests and
activities helped to divert attention from his political role and the criticism it was bound to attract in
which he became popular and was best remembered The Great Exhibition of 1851 that enhanced
Britain s greatness. Albert and Victoria s popularity soared and enhanced because of their calm
composure when they were the target of two attempted assassination attacks when she was pregnant in
1840 and 1841. They were both popular in the fact that Victoria was the first sovereign not to go to
Parliament every time she ran into debt, however she was never in debt. Albert took advice from his
private secretary and had already begun to make money for the Queen, investing in savings in land
and on the stock market that established the basis of the royal family s private fortune. By royal and
even aristocratic standards, Victoria and Albert s marriage was a very domestic one. In the daily life of
the royal family, Albert was expected to fulfill the normal role of the Victorian husband as the master

Comparing Hinduism Christianity And Islam
LaShawn Lock
28 October 2014
HIS 101
Professor Andrew Wiest
Looking at Hinduism, Christianity, and Islam on a Boarder Scale
Christianity, Islam, and Hinduism all share similarities, but they also share differences as well.
Christianity and Islam are Abrahamic religions. Hinduism on the other hand originated from the
eastern part of the world. Hinduism, Christianity, and Islam are all religions who have guidelines on
what they consider their right way of living in order to achieve an afterlife.
While reading these four assigned readings, there were more similarities between Islam and
Christianity. Hinduism is more along with itself because it is almost the complete opposite. Each of
these religions believe in good and evil, and they also ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Just like the Hindus, the Christians and the Muslims believed that if you do good that good things will
happen to you. All three beliefs give their followers guidelines on how to live right so good things can
happen to them. In Christianity, the good people can go to heaven. In Matthew 7:21, Jesus says in his
sermon, Not everyone who says to me, Lord, Lord, will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one
who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. You have to do the will of God in order to get to
heaven. In the law of Karma, the Hindu faith believes when you do well on earth that you can be
reincarnated into something better than when you were here on earth. Of course since good things
happen to those who do good, bad things happen to those who don t do as well. For Christians, the not
so good people can go to hell, and in the Hindu faith the non believers can be reincarnated into
something worse than that of an insect. The Muslims believe just like Christians that there is a force of
evil, Satan or the

The Positives And Economic Impacts Of The Industrial...
Described as the rapid development of industry, characterized by the use of steam power, growth of
factories, mass production of manufactured goods, and most critically, by the introduction of
machinery into our daily lives; one can indisputably say that the period of the Industrial Revolution
was a time of substantial and drastic transformation. Representing major change from 1760 all the
way to now, it influenced everything from industrial manufacturing processes, to the daily lives of the
average citizens and their communities. However, with it came its impacts and although the industrial
revolution had a reasonable proportion of negative impacts of people s lifestyle, it also had a profusion
of positives impacts on their lifestyle which ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This revolution introduced many notable drawbacks in certain people s lives which continue to pose
communal threats today, along with a diversity of assistance to the same people at that time. As
previously mentioned, child labour and horrific working conditions were arguably the biggest flaws of
this period. After analysing The Sadler Report , one can observe that increasing amounts of child labor
used to manufacture goods in factories with working conditions which dropped to such an extent as to
increasing their working hours to 16 hours a day with one forty minute break, demonstrated not only
the necessity of such labor, which eventually profits into the factories financial system, but the further
impact of the lives of these children who were desperate for minimalistics wages. Soon, the lives of
these children were dependant on these second rate conditions of these factories, and as they were
often exposed to hazardous chemicals and dangerous machinery, these conditions began to raise
important questions towards the end of the revolution. The only things which were helping these
workers was the natural outcomes of this period as everything was affordable because everything was

Microsoft, Mysql And Sql Server
When you start thinking about getting a database program for your company there are many popular
software names that come to mind. The first that come to my mind are Oracle, MySQL (structured
query language) and SQL Server, but let s take it one step further you have to know the pros and cons
for each program. By educating yourself on the differences between the programs you can know that
you are getting exactly what you need from the software. Even though they all do create databases,
different companies have special needs and the program that is chosen may not do what it is needed
without research. Some users might say that the cost plays a big part of the decision making process,
but you do not always just want to know how much they cost because you want to know how they
differ from each other. There are quite a few out there, let s start with the top three companies Oracle,
MySQL and SQL Server.
First, let us take a look at Oracle. Oracle has been the leader of database programs for years; it was
released for commercial use in 1980s. Oracle s first release was called Oracle 2 and it only supported
the basis features of SQL. (Lee, 2013) It was also the first to develop commercial layer SQL.
Commercial layer program is usually windows base and it works with SQL Server. Some of Oracle s
many features include the interface that can either be SQL (structured query language) or GUI
(graphical user interface). The languages it supports are C, C#, C++, Java, Ruby, Objective C

Leon Czolgosz Assassination
I think I know
I know that President McKinley was the 25th president of the United States and was only the 3rd
president to be assassinated up until this time. This was never a widely coved topic in any of my
previous history classes so I m coming into this project with virtually no former knowledge.
I Know
On September 6, 1901 at 2:30, president McKinley was shot and wounded. According to the Coconino
Sun Newspaper, released only one day after the attack, the President had attended a reception that was
being held in the Music Hall of the Pan American Exposition. The Pan Americans Exposition, also
known as the World Fair, was held in Buffalo New York from May 1 to November 2, 1901.

Not only was the president of the United Stated shot in killed, but the man who did it was a known
anarchist. There was already a great fear of this group in American, so, this event just reiterated that
fear. Other anarchist were arrested with the belief that they had ties to this crime. Although we now
believe that Czolgosz was acting alone, it was the fear of anarchy that lead police into arresting
innocent people. This act of terrorism compares with what the United States is facing. Although this
event occurred over one hundred years ago, things like terrorism connects this event to today. The
death of McKinley lead to some changes in policies and procedures. Many Americans believed that
the president was not being protected well enough. Even though the government wouldn t confess to
not protecting their president, there was still a change. When William McKinley s vice president,
Theodore Roosevelt, took office after McKinley s death, the Secret Service was in full time protection
of him to make sure nothing like the McKinley assassination would happen

Living and Coping with Cystic Fibrosis in the South Asian...
A widely accepted Caucasian disease has since changed; as cases of its existence are appearing in the
South Asian Population (Orenstein, Rosenstein and Stern, 2000). First discovered in 1989, Cystic
Fibrosis (CF) is a genetically predetermined condition, its presences is lifelong and highly complex,
which is why many CF sufferers and families develop various mechanisms in order to adapt to the
condition (Tippingemail, Scholes, Cox, 2010). Cystic Fibrosis causes the body to develop thick, sticky
mucus which clogs the lungs and affects other organs in the body, mainly the pancreas. The layer of
mucus if untreated develops in to a chronic infection which can be detrimental. The pancreas of a CF
patient is most vulnerable, once the mucus has ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Discussions of such issues suggest that other external factors may be influencing the decisions and
maintenance of many CF patients. For instance CF patients need to prioritise the way in which they
self manage their treatment, this can be difficult when trying to balance family, work, education and
other responsibilities and their levels of adherence may fluctuate (Sawicki, Sellers, Robinson, 2009).
These fluctuations can be detrimental to their condition and may result in hospitalisation, causing
additional disruptions in their daily life. However, engaging in so called normal activities might
therefore also reinforce a sense of being healthy and having a nondifferent identity. Conquering a
healthy balance is one which CF patients may need to adopt. One of the significant points from
McCormick et al, (2005) research underlined the substantial clinical differences for females in
comparison to males. The authors found that females had worst disease severity than males. Why
might this difference be occurring? In 2009 Besier, Schmitz and Goldbeck, investigated the effects of
relationship status on life satisfaction, as numerous findings suggest that despite the relationship
status, many females CF patients still reported worse quality of life scores than males (Walters,
Britton, Hodson, 1993). Besier et al, (2009) administrated the Life satisfaction questionnaire on a
sample of 243 CF (129

She approached me and said Can you help me I feel, hated, mistreated, alone, and scared , the only thing I could tell her was, I can see if we have space available for a single room with a restroom included . That hurt me because I was in this leadership position, representing residence life, and we didn t even have a gender neutral restroom for a soon to be transgender to take a shower in peacefully. Unfortunately, that student moved off campus, and had to pay a housing termination fee, and that was one less student in a room. I want to be that young student affairs professional that anybody can talk to; I also want to make sure we have facilities on campus that cater to the LGBTQ community. • 4. The Bible Is Not A Children s Book Essay The Bible is not a children s book. Not only is it beyond the length and reading level appropriate for younger audiences, it often covers what some parents might consider inappropriate topics. Imagine finding an illustrated children s bible containing graphic stories about talking to ghosts or children being burned alive as sacrifices to God. These are troubling stories that actually appear within the Hebrew Bible, which even some adults may feel uncomfortable discussing. Academic scholarship of the Bible, however, should not be influenced by such discomfort. This has led a handful of scholars to study these death related experiences within ancient Israelite contexts. The last thirty years have revealed at least two contemporary topics of conversations between scholars within this subfield: necromancy and child sacrifice among ancient Israelite religion. Typically, dialogue about ancient Israelites is framed among the broader beliefs and practices of peoples from the surrounding geographical region including the Canaanites, Egyptians, and other ancient peoples; these topics are no exception. While, there is also no consensus among modern scholars, the majority of academics appear to accept both child sacrifice and necromancy as a historical practice belonging to the worship of Yahweh. Nonetheless, these scholars continue to do so with varying degrees of beliefs about the particular conditions during which these controversial customs were performed. ... The Government Places Emphasis On Freedom Brandon Lee Mrs. Haedtler American Literature Period 4 21 November 2014 iSearch The government places emphasis on freedom in America, in face of evidence that presents the deceptiveness of our dignitary. According to internetworldstats, 13% of American citizens don t use the internet, meaning that 87% of our population is at risk of surveillance. NSA Surveillance hurts the economy because many people are skeptical about the online services. Users fear that these online services would allow surveillance of their private information. Despite a leading instrument in measuring service quality, a number of studies have raised concern about it [156,168 171]. These criticisms relates to conceptual, methodological and analytical issues in SERVQUAL. The primary issue raised in the literature is the conceptualization of service quality as the difference between perception and expectation [159]. Cronin and Taylor, reiterate their views against the disconfirmation based SERVQUAL scale of measuring service quality and continued to be proponents of their perception only approach to service quality measurement. • 7. Hitler s View Of The Jewish People Essay From 1939 to 1945 the world saw actions and atrocities unparalleled in the War against Germany, the legacies of such actions we are still seeing today. Perhaps the most notable atrocity that was born from this war was the persecution of Jewish people in Germany and around Europe and the corresponding murder of up to 6 million Jewish people . When Adolf Hitler s National Socialist party seized power on January 30, 1933, there were approximately 525,000 Jewish people living in Germany, less than one percent of the population. Throughout the years leading up to the official start of World War Two the Jewish people were treated harshly and condemned for no other reason than the fact that they were Jewish, in 1935 the Nuremberg laws furthered this condemnation by defining what it meant to be a Jew, deprived Jews of German citizenship and legally prohibited them from a variety of occupations. Families were split apart and many families fled as far as they could have from the horrors of a country they once called home. Hitler s view of the Jewish people is highlighted in his publication Mein Kampf : A Jew is and remains a typical parasite, a sponger who like a noxious bacillus keeps spreading as soon as a favorable medium invites him. And the effect of his existence is also like that of spongers: wherever he appears, the host people die out. The Jew today is the great agitator for the complete destruction of Germany. Alfred T. Mahan strategies ranged from having complete and utter control of all movements across the sea, to having a large Navy that is capable of controlling and using force to either preserve our territories or deter enemies at all costs. Naval air power piggy backed off of Alfred T. Mahan s theories and strategies, and eventually composed three naval air power operations that seize, maintain, and exercise command of the sea/air (Rubel 64). The operation and organisation of business activity in New Zealand has been affected by this changing economy. All aspects of the New Zealand Government have been altered. The reason for this change was to improve the performance by being more efficient. The key reforms are privatisation and corporatisation of State Owned Enterprises (SOEs) and restructuring government agencies. The most significant change was the election of the Labour Party in 1984, which ended the Muldoon Administration. After the sale of these SOEs that the New Zealand Government has become more efficient too, they can focus on their primary task by providing essential services. Some of these services include public hospitals, education, benefits, and emergency relief. From the reforms came a radical change in New Zealand trade. In 1984 the Government devalued the New Zealand Dollar by 20%, then in 1985 introduced a floating exchange rate. Along with that, the removal of agricultural subsidies and import tariffs. It allowed New Zealand to be a fairer country to trade with. As a direct result, the trade competitive index jumped from 0.72 on 1985 to 0.98 in 1987. Foreign investment increased as the New Zealand Dollar strengthened against the green back and the pound. Consequently, importing and exporting firms benefited from the change in policies. During January of 1629 it was decided by parliament to legally try to reduce the power held by the crown. In so doing it was found that Popery and placing taxes on the people without their consent was treason (Kagan 454). Popery was especially bad in England because it was in England that the king was also the head of the church and could make any religious policies he desired. When parliament declared Charles I guilty of treason England was full of mixed emotions. Those who followed the king believed that only through submission to divine authority could they be true Christians. Dissenters were able to gain control thus beheading Charles, and unknowingly creating a dictator (Tomlinson 3). Royalists were those who supported the king. Their name was derived from Caballeo (Spanish) this term denoted someone who was Catholic and had an extreme dislike for Protestants (Chapman 57). Roundheads were those who supported anyone but the king. Their name referred to the apprentices of the day, these apprentices caused conflicts to escalate into violence and in turn caused many people to flee the cities (Chapman 58). Creation And The Persistence Of Evil By Levenson In Creation and the Persistence of Evil , Levenson asserts that God s divine omnipotence originates from his battle with rather than banishment of evil. There are a few textual facts to consider in analysis of this statement. In an initial class discussion, we examined the fact that God did not create evil. He created what was and what had the potential to be good (e.g. light, man), separating it from what is deemed as evil (e.g. darkness). For instance, he did not create the tree of knowledge of good and evil, but instead drew boundaries. Yet this concept from Genesis conflicts with one that arises in Psalms 104:26. American Airlines Flight 11 crashed into the World Trade Center s North Tower at precisely 8:46 AM (Ritter). The entire city was instantly thrown into a frenzy of panic and disarray. This needs to be a partnership between the patient and the principle caregivers. Death is often associated with those who have a life limiting condition and often receiving what is known as pallet of care, which can be in a hospice, okay home or hospital. We know death because in many different settings including home and sadly in the custody setting, these can be very different circumstances, which can be, and including sudden death or suicide. (Walker 109) Instead, materialism prevails, and popular fantasy in which good (us!) prevails against evil (them!) is standard fare. However, Walker contends, and I agree, that the best fantasy provides something more, and presents complex and clearly defined values, not vacant symbols of of the powerful versus the powerless. (Chappell 22) While Gaiman s The Graveyard Book takes a different approach and delves into what is, by all accounts, unknown and unseen; it more than raises the question of what happens when one dies and explores the physical world as well as the supernatural. Upon her death, Bod s mother entrusts her son, a mortal being, not to other living beings, but to those who have already gone before her those with the wisdom to raise him well. With various cautions along the way, Bod is kept safe until he learns what he needs to learn to exist as a force for good in the world. Through disobedience or excess curiosity, Bod sometimes finds himself in perilous situations along the way. Thoughout the story we are reminded that life indeed is fragile; but death, for most, is not to be feared. The story explores the existence of other spiritual beings who watch over us (the Hounds of God) and well as some of the bad guys who once held places of honor in the current physical world. Indeed, the dance of the macabre demonstrates that death is much closer than we think by it s inevitability and we would do well to consider the consequences of our actions. In considering Bettleheim s reflections on the child reader, I agree that most fantasy allows the reader to explore his/her own feelings about others and/or the unknown from a safe vantage point. At the time anyone who was involved with exploration had their own motives such as wealth, trade, glory, and the spread of Christianity. People became more involved with exploration because it created new trading routes, applied new technologies, created economic goals, and rise of nations. Exploration in the 1500 s relates back to US history because during the Age of Exploration America was founded. Portugal took the lead in search of the first all water route to Asia. To control trades with Asia was Portugal s number one priority. Portuguese sailors used a ship named caravel to sail the seas. It had a triangular sail and three masts. The person who put these laws into place is called Creon, who wants the person who buried the body to face justice. The sister who committed this crime is Antigone, who is also the character that I m contrasting with Creon. Antigone, while being the sibling to the two brothers, is also related to Creon. You would assume this would cause Creon to not consider killing his blood and also is actually his son s bride. Instead, he chooses to be relentless and even tell to her sister, Ismene, Why not? There are other fields for him to plough. This choice was a big contributor to Creon s becoming of a tragic hero.
