Classic Airlines Marketing Challenge
Classic Airline s marketing challenge.
To acquire a new customer is far more costly than to maintain an existing one. This is phenomenon
every company is well conversant, be it in the service industry or otherwise, this phenomenon is
clearly evident to classic airlines which is facing challenges of increasing its service value in the
context of a learner consumer budget. Many jobs in the travel industry are being downsized as a result
of e commerce. This has resulted to many players I the industry to use this as an opportunity to
leverage their proven techniques in improving their customer relationship management (CRM)
systems, in order to introduce a planning process which will increase customer loyalty.
To achieve this however companies must use all possible resources available at their disposal to
maximize growth and profitability by putting their eye on strategic marketing., this entails informed
market forecast potential and future demand which can be achieved by establishing long term
marketing objectives.
Classic airlines in this case are facing an organizational issue in respect to its external and internal
programs which have not been able to satisfy the needs and wants of stakeholders. This has resulted in
the shift of customers to other airlines in the quest to satisfy their needs; as a result the company has
recorded poor sales and hence poor profits (milaly tokhi).
Lack of innovation and rising costs are the major reasons why the company is facing such

How Spiritualism Is A Form Of Worship
Spiritualism is a form of worship that believes in both a world of matter and material things, such as
people, animals, etc., and a world of spirits or metaphysical beings and happenings. The religion of
Hawaii was partially spiritualism and also polytheistic. Polytheism is the belief in many gods.
(Imagine) Their gods ruled over the natural occurrences of the world such as the seas, volcanoes,
earth, and sky. (Got Religion) One major volcano that was particularly precious to them was Mauna
Kea. Mauna Kea was believed to be the place where the sky god met the god of earth; also it was
where the other deities met. Basically, Mauna Kea was the Hawaiian Mount Olympus. James Kimo

Many were driven from their homes to reservations, or forced to bend a knee to the white man s ways.
One tribe, the Cherokee, was compelled to leave their lands in Oklahoma by the United States
Government. Compelled to march with the provisions and belongings they could carry upon their back
or horse, many died of exposure, starvation, or disease. (Trail) This event came to be known as The
Trail of Tears . These people were forced from their lands, homes, worship sites, and ancestral burial
grounds in the name of progress. Foreign progress, to them, if I may add. They, at their core, did not
care that Continental America was flourishing. They only wanted to be left alone in their ancestral
homeland. Now, in their eyes, they were being persecuted for their faith and culture. One group of
Sioux stood up against the tide of imperialism. They were victorious at the Battle of Little Bighorn,
but were defeated at the massacre of Wounded Knee. Wounded Knee was the final major conflict that
put the majority of the Native Americans in their place . The Sioux under Big Foot were ordered to
give up their fire arms. They responded with a reply, saying they had none. The medicine man began
to dance the Ghost Dance frantically, while wearing paint. The soldiers, fearing an outbreak of
violence was about to occur, opened fire. When the haze of smoke had cleared, the bodies of men,

Analyse the factors that contributed to the emergence of a workers opposition movement in
Communist Poland in the period 1956 1981.
After World War II, the official communist party dominated all aspects of Polish politics, which soon
became an issue with not only the working class of the country, but also the intellectual and educated
Polish community. Between 1956 and 1981, there was an emergence of workers opposition against the
communist party in Poland due to the blatant oppression and desperate living conditions of many of
the Polish workers and their families. Workers demanded rapid change in policy from the party
because the workers believed the government had ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
(Doc 4) The intellectual and party member support helped the workers movement gain serious
momentum. A major factor in the emergence of the workers opposition movement also was the
support of the Catholic Church and the Pope specifically. In September of 1976, the bishops of the
Catholic Church in Poland called for the government and party to fully respect civil rights and conduct
a real dialogue with society while also demanding that they stop all repression of workers involved in
the protests of June 1976. (Doc 5) The fierce and somewhat scolding tone in which the demands are
made show the Catholic Church s unwavering support for the Polish workers opposition. It is not
surprising, however, that a group of Catholic bishops would demand better treatment for the Polish
workers because, as members of the church, they would naturally be in favour of social justice. The
value of having the Catholic Church support the movement manifests itself in the fact that the Polish
communist party begins to require all teachers to tell students that the pope is an enemy and dangerous
man who only wishes to charm the crowd. (Doc 7) This response to the pope s support demonstrates
that the party itself realised that the church could have tremendous impact on the turnout of the
opposition. By the 1980s, a coalition of independent trade unions, known as Solidarity, was
established in Gdansk. The photograph of Lech Walesa and other

The American Society Of Criminology Essay
The American Society Of Criminology
AHHHHhhhhh! I let out a girlish scream and squirmed as shivers went strait up my spine. I was glued
to the latest episode of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, a show that I have watched religiously since
its debut. Criminology is something that has always fascinated me, and is a career that I hope to
pursue in the future as an FBI agent. I frequently surf the web looking for short stories to read about
different criminal cases and to find information about job opportunities and internships. One day I
found a website of an organization that studied crime independently of the government. I was
immediately intrigued by the organization, and began reading about the American Society of
Criminology. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Today, membership includes anyone interested in enhancing the professional interests of the study of
criminology from students, to practitioners, to scholars of various professional criminological
specialties (American Society of Criminology homepage). Membership of ASC is no longer limited to
a geographic area. ASC has grown into an international organization involved with other professional
societies of criminology around the world. ASC sponsors an employment exchange between its
members to facilitate the various job openings in the criminological field over seas. Today, nearly
1,000 people are attending annual meetings and every major criminologist in the United States is a
member and active participant of ASC (American Society of Criminology homepage). Also, there are
currently 121 (15.2%) female members of what was originally a completely male organization. ASC s
large numbers in membership and diversity makes the organization a unique professional association
of some of the world s best and brightest thinkers (American Society of Criminology homepage).
The American Society of Criminology meets once a year at a large hotel to discuss a particular topic
of general interest. The society is divided up by committees, for seminars and plenary sessions. At the
last meeting, there were two dozen society committees and one hundred and eighty panels. The

Difference Between Forward And Spot Rate
However, it should be kept in perspective that in the Four Way Equivalence Model , both The Fisher
Effect and The International Fisher Effect are treated as parts of one economic activity.
All these five individual linking theories are used further to exhibit further five situations:
Difference in Interest rates equals Expected difference in Inflation rates
Expected change in spot rate equals expected difference in inflation rates
Difference between forward and spot rates equals Difference in Interest rates
Difference between forward and spot rates equals Expected difference in Inflation rates
Expected change in spot rate equals Difference in interest rates
The validation procedure of the aforementioned five theories and their relationship begins with the
description of Interest rate . Interest rate is the amount charged by a lender from the borrower for the
use of assets such as cash or goods and is represented in the form of percentage typically noted on an
annual basis. There are two types of Interest: Simple Interest and Compound Interest. Values of both
can be calculated by the formulae written below:
Simple Interest = Principal x Annual interest rate x Years .
Compound Interest = Principal x [(1 + ( Interest rate ) Years ( Months )) 1].
Compound Interest is higher in comparison to the Simple Interest because the interest is being charged
monthly on the principal and the accrued interest from the previous months.

Fingerprints Are Not The Same Techniques We Use Today
Fingerprints have been used for a very long time, as far back as 3,000 years ago in China as
identification. The use of ancient fingerprints are not the same techniques we use today. In 1880, a
man by the name of Henry Fauld, a Scottish physician working in a hospital in Japan, published his
own views on the potential application of fingerprinting to personal identification (Saferstein, 2016,
pg. 164). He suggested that the skin patterns could be important for the identification of criminals.
After comparing different fingerprints, he began to realize that each print looked remarkably different.
Fauld believed that fingerprints could be used as evidence and suggested the proposal to a fingerprint
testing center, but the offer was rejected. Years later, the first prosecution fingerprints were used in the
year 1905 in London (Rotella, Abbott, Gold, 2001). Ever since then fingerprints have been a valuable
part of crime scene investigations and if present, it is almost guaranteed that the criminal will fit the
crime. It has been a successful technique that has proved more success than any other piece of
evidence.
When looking at two pairs of hands it is hard to notice anything different between the two. However,
there are remarkable differences between the individual s fingerprints. Fingerprint analysts have
formulated three basic principles of fingerprints that hold the prints uniqueness, stability, and
appropriateness as a mean of identification. Before being able to

Why Do White People Come Out Of Slavery
Firstly, i believe that it was very hard on native americans that were coming out of slavery because
they could not be around white or do many things white people could do therefore it was like the
white people had more expensive thing for example clean water and blacks had to drink out of filthy
water fountains. Also, blacks could not be in the same stores and things as white people and blacks
and whites were not able to talk without being made fun of or even be investigated or even spied on
because many and most people thought that whites should stay to their own race just as blacks
meaning many people thought it was in the wrong for a white person and a black person to be together
or have any type of relationship. And, it was hard on blacks because they could not have the same
things and supplies in as great condition as whites and if they did they were very lucky. Next, i think
that if we would have accepted people and ourselves for who we are and we would not have have this
problem for example if people would see that we are all humans and all should be treated the same we
would all be better citizens in the world and things around would ... Show more content on

The Inevitability Of Failure Summary
Summary of Article The Inevitability of Failure: The Flawed Assumption of
Security in Modern Computing Environments
The article, which addresses security loopholes in modern computing environments, by Loscocco et al
highlights what is and has been being done security wise in the past and how secure these
implementations were and going forward what should be done to ensure in depth security which
guarantees system wide security (1998). The article first explains features of secure operating system
and why current systems implemented under the notion of application space security ultimately failed
to safe guard the integrity and confidentiality of our assets. The article then continued with general
examples of access control and cryptography implemented in the application space with no or little
support from operating system and showed their vulnerabilities to attacks such as tampering,
bypassing and spoofing. The article supplied real life examples to support the evidence that building
security in the application space without secure operating system is meaningless. The article raised
concrete examples on mobile code security, Kerberos network authentication service, IPSEC and SSL
network security protocols and firewall. The paper finally put an interesting remark that security
implemented in application space without secure operating system is like building a house in a pile of
sand and it also emphasized that secure operating system without better security on the

College Is A Waste Of Time And Money
The amount of money spent on one year alone of college can break someone s heart. For most people
college gets them to where they want to be, but with hard work and dedication going to work right
after high school can take you a long way. Getting out of high school and starting a career early might
be what some people want, but college is always an option with all the help they have today. College
is a waste of time and money for a couple reasons. The fact that you spend 13 years in school just to
go on to most likely spend four more years at some sort of college makes some kids think when it
comes to should I go to college or not. Some kids believe that you can make more money working
right after high school then heading to college for four years. Statistics say in College is a Waste of
Time and Money by Caroline Bird, that if you put in the money you would have spent on college in
the bank and let the interest alone build it up; by the time you are ready to retire you will have an extra
$199,000. Although no bank will give a student that kind of money to put into a savings account that
number opens a student s eyes. With that said, you will be completely debt free if you choose to go
into the work force directly after high school. In 2015 on average a student was in debt $35,000 after
just one year. MarketWatch. N.p. Web. 26 Oct. 2016. That adds up to being around $140,000 after the
completed their four year degree. With that amount of money, you could by yourself

The Influence of Rationalism on the French Revolution

The Influence of Rationalism on the French Revolution What was the driving force behind the French
Revolution? Many people may say it was financial, or political, and while I would agree that these
things were part of the force that propelled the French Revolution, I would assert that the philosophies
of the Enlightenment were the dominant force that blasted late eighteenth century France into
revolution . In his article, The French Revolution: Ideas and Ideologies Maurice Cranston of History
Today articulates that the Enlightenment philosophies were pivotal in the revolutions inception. He
writes that:
The philosophes undoubtedly provided the ideas.

The King shared his powers with nobody, and was answerable for its exercise to nobody but God. (21)
The ancien regime government lacked reason, but was bursting with more than its fair share of divine
laws and rights that the creator had set in place in order to insure social stability. In fact, as Doyle
points out in his book, this concept that God had set forth a divine law to be followed was directly
stated in a document that parliament wrote:
This social order is not only essential to the practice of every sound government: it has its origin in
divine law. (24)
The document goes on to say that:
The infinite and immutable wisdom in the plan of the universe established an unequal distribution of
strength and character, necessarily resulting in inequality in the conditions of men within the civil
order... (24)
This document summed up the ancien regimes ideology: God has placed the king the clergy, and
aristocracy above the common people and that is how it is, because that is how it has been. The words
irrational, divine, and superstitious come up many times when describing the ancien regimes
government and society; in fact, these things were actually integral to the maintenance of government
and society in France during the ancien regime. Indeed, you could not have this form of government
without divine law, irrational organization, and superstitious beliefs.

Bitter Sweet Book Report
Bitter Sweet by Winnie Mack, is a nonfiction reality book about not giving up. Throughout the book,
readers learn many valuable life lessons shown through everyday examples in Samantha s (the main
character) life. Each event in the book relates to the theme about keeping your head held high and not
giving up. Since Sam was a little girl, she had a passion for soccer and dreamed of becoming a
professional one day. For Samantha, Saturday was not just a regular day, it was game day and Sam
was so excited, as usual. She jumped out of her car and ran on to the field as she would usually do.

Sam was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. She couldn t believe it, she thought about it more and more

careful of what she ate. She was going to be different than most people, and everyone was going to
realize that. Although all of this was horrible, at least she could play soccer. Later that day, when
Samantha was feeling better, her doctor had delivered even more bad news. Samantha wasn t allowed
to play soccer for a while, well until she learned more about diabetes. Sam was so furious but she didn
t give up yet. What if she was never going to play soccer again, what if she would get made fun of at
school, what was going to happen? This event also relates to the stories theme of never giving up
because, Samantha didn t know what was going to happen next. She was not going to let diabetes ruin

Correlation Between Quartz And Quartz Size
For the difference in properties for the Quartz size the 30 size was the outlier in all trends it also had
the highest standard deviation in the Dry, suspended, and saturated samples. There was not enough
difference in data to validate the removal of outliers. If the 30 quartz size is not taken into account the
weight of the samples increased with a increase in quartz size. For the average bend strength there was
no trend in strength based on the quartz size most of the samples where within standard deviation of
each other. This result can be expected because of the testing method used and the number of samples.
Porcelain has randomly dispersed intrinsic flaws location and sizes, so the values of the sample would
be different if the same samples where tested on the half s of the original sample. A material is only as
strong as is largest intrinsic flaw.
The bulk density, apparent specific gravity and percent open porosity is shown in table (4). There was
no significant difference between in the bulk density and apparent specific gravity of the samples. This
shows that the amount of air in the samples are the same thought the quartz sizes. For the percent open
porosity there is also a deviation from the 30 quartz size. Ignoring that size the amount of open
porosity increases with the increase in quartz size. This makes sense given the fact that the larger the
quartz size the easier it is for unwanted materials to burn off such as hydrocarbons.

Los Angeles Research Paper
Personally I think that Los Angeles is the best place to live in among the suggested cities. I will
mention both advantages and disadvantages of living there and compare LA with another major
American cities.
To start with, I should say that apart from my own liking for this place, there are a lot of important
features of living in this city which make one s life better. First of all, the population density in LA,
which is about 3040/km2, is quite high, but in contrast with Chicago, where the density is about
4447/km2, the city is not overpopulated, and it is not as densely populated as New York, where the
density is 160/km2. So, Los Angeles is the golden mean. The weather is also very pleasant: one won t

In winter it is 9,4 degrees above zero, which is far warmer than the average January temperatures in
NY and especially in Chicago. However, the average January low temperature in Miami is still higher
than LA s temperature, as it is 15 degrees above zero. In addition, Los Angeles has the lowest rainfall
index among the given cities, so there s not much of a chance of catching a cold, and the biggest
amount of sunny days. As you can see, the weather conditions in LA are wonderful and definetely
count as an advantage of living in Los Angeles. Furthermore, in comparison with Miami and Dallas
crime indexes, the crime index in LA is not very high. On the other hand, it is a pity that the air quality
in Los Angeles is incredibly bad as it is only 1 point out of 100, which makes the air quality index in
LA the lowest, whereas Miami has 65,3 points and Dallas has 32,3. Unfortunately, the cost of living in
Los Angeles is rather high, exceeding the average USA cost 1.5 times and being only a bit lower than
in New York. However, the sales tax in LA is not very big in contrast with Chicago and NY s indexes.

Analyzing Erikson s Psychosocial Stages Of Development
In 1963, the psychology theorist Erik Erikson, developed the idea that each life stage has a
psychosocial task that they must conquer. I was given the opportunity to observe his theory on my
own through a series of interviews. The first person that I interviewed was an adolescent, whose
psychosocial developmental conflict is between identity and role confusion. The next person that I
interviewed was a young adult, whose conflict is between intimacy. The next person that I interviewed
was of middle adulthood, whose crisis is between generativity and stagnation. Finally, I interviewed a

Pros And Cons Of Therapeutic Robots
Medical technology has evolved, starting from the nineteenth century to further development of the
medical technologies such as the diagnostic technology now being able to find the diagnosis of the
patient by automatically recording the data of the illness. Doctors and other health professions are now
able to prevent illnesses from getting worse; the evolvement of medical technology has further
allowed us to help diminish certain health illness(es). For example, the therapeutic robots have been
developed to help treat illnesses such as dementia but further studies have proven that therapeutic
robots can do so much more. Therapeutic robots are robots used for companionship and therapy; it is a
robotic pet such as an otter, cat, seal, and/or dog that operates like a real pet to help someone s health
issue. Yet, therapeutic robots are seen as controversial since many people view therapeutic robots as a
way of raising ethical concerns since they believe that therapeutic robots can eventually replace
humans. Although therapeutic robots such as PARO are viewed as harmful, they are beneficial to the
society because it can help diminish dementia, has a psychological effect on patients, improves the
socialization, and treats depression and alzheimer s.
PARO is a therapeutic robot used as a medical device in hospitals and nursing homes for patients with
severe health illnesses that has been around since 2004. As claimed by the PARO website, PARO is an

King Lear Act 1 Scene Essay
King Lear Act 1 Scene
What impact did Act 1 Scene 1 of King Lear have on you?
The first scene of the first act of King Lear had a genuinely dramatic affect upon me.
This first glimpse into the world of Lear and his subordinates sets the premise for the whole play,
unravelling within the first few pages, themes which I believe will become increasingly evident. The
scene opens with the introduction of three characters Kent, Gloucester and Edmund. Of these three
characters the only one who seems not to have been shown in an unfavourable light yet, by this brief
introduction, is Kent. This could be intentional to set It is made clear Edmund is a bastard, and
therefore illegible for proper acknowledgement as the son of an Earl. ... Show more content on

At this point of the scene it can be clearly noticed how similar Goneril and Regan are, as Regan asks
Lear to measure her worth as he measured Goneril s. This closeness seems symbolic in a way to the
close knit coven in Macbeth, as these women seem to have underlying deceptive qualities. Before
considering Cordelia s answer to Lear, we must note her comments made during Goneril and Regan s
speeches . This is keen use of the aside speech by Shakespeare as the audience would be able to hear
Cordelia s confusion over what her response shall be and her truthful belief that her love is more
ponderous than her tongue. Her indecision over what to say to her father shows really how much she
does not want to offend him, but instead she does the opposite, as he cannot see beyond his pride, to
her loyal words.
When she says Nothing , she is indicating to him that he should no the worth of her love for him. The
king, shocked with this appearance of ingratitude in his favourite child, desired her to consider her
words, and to mend her speech, lest it should mar her fortunes. Cordelia then tells Lear that she loves
him according to her station, and as much as he loves her as his daughter. She is as she says
young...and true . Lear is obviously hurt but it seems, due to the severity of his actions, that his pride
and title have been harmed more. He disowns her and she becomes his sometime daughter . At this
point Kent intervenes on Cordelia s behalf

Guilt In Hamlet Essay
Guilt is not a response to anger, it is a response to one s own action or lack of action the fact that king
claudius killed Hamlet s father and he does nothing about it, through a lack of action this is how he
obtains his guilt. Evidently Dunny from Davies fifth business experiences the same type of guilt by
dodging a snowball intended for him, but injuries Mrs Dempster instead. Although the time in which
guilt was experienced differs greatly, Davies Fifth Business and Shakespeare s Hamlet both have
characters that experience guilt through a lack of action, and face isolation due to it. As a result, both
characters go through an internal conflict regardless of how long they have felt that guilt.
Dunny and Hamlet experience the same type of guilt but go about different ways of enduring or
solving their problems. In Shakespeare s Hamlet, Hamlet s Guilt is not being able to do anything about
his father s death. He is indecisive on what to do for most of the play, weighing is options out and
going back and forth about killing his uncle and how he will go about doing it. Subconsicley guilt
builds up in him and pours out at certain moments in the play. Hamlet does not understand how to get
his revenge which takes over his every thought causing him to feel frustrated with himself. He is
angered by the fact he has not killed his uncle yet and that he will not take action. peasant slave am I (
Shakespeare 2.2.535) This quote is a paradox, he emphasizes the struggle he is facing and continuing
to shows that he is upset with himself. Hamlet calls himself the complete opposite of what he is, he is
of royalty but compares himself to the lowest form of life in this time period. It seems though this
helps Hamlet understand what he needs to do and how he should face his guilt, by creating the play
that lead him to insure that he will kill his uncle. After all Hamlet goes through he is still hesitant
about what he should do, but he finds hope in someone to help push himself to conquer the guilt that
he is facing. Fortinbras is the person that helps Hamlet with his guilty conscious, not directly but
indirectly. Since Fortinbras had accomplished what Hamlet is trying to do, he sees him as a inspiration
in the situation that

American Conquest Feelings Analysis
American Conquest Feelings Essay It is not often that you read a story where the American soldier is
the bad guy. Miller does a great job of portraying the conflict for what it truly was. He does not give
an anti American tone while writing the book, like many other critics have. I think that we have a lot
to learn from this conflict. America is the greatest country, with the greatest beacon of life and liberty
than any other country in history. With that being said, we must not turn our head from the atrocities
that Uncle Sam takes responsibility for. Studying the tainted corners of our history provides us with
the ability to learn from experience. After reading this piece of the book, I think America is not a

Professional Gamer Negative Outcomes Of An Elite Gamer
Professional Gamer Negative Outcomes It s preposterous and a dream come true, the profession of an
elite gamer. In this day and age, this recreational activity is considered a career. The professional
sports they had in previous generations are transitioning into eSports, one of the fastest growing
industries in the United States, South Korea, and other places around the world. To put the
skyrocketing of eSport viewership into perspective, the 2013 League of Legends Season 3 World
Championship s thirty two million viewers surpassed both the BCS National Championship and game
seven of the NBA Finals by seven million, and more than doubled the viewership of the World Series.
(Kasten) With this career, however retirement comes quickly and fame dissipates gradually. The career
of a famous professional gamer is very dynamic and never set in stone. Although it is theoretically an
enjoyable career, professional gamers develop huge drawbacks which include persistent stress, video
game related health problems, and early retirement, which leaves the gamer living under inhumane
circumstances. The negative outcomes that result from the famous gamer profession, greatly outweigh
the positives.
In theory, the life of a professional gamer is the ultimate dream. To make thousands of dollars while
virtually kicking your enemies ass in a game of StarCraft, League of Legends, or Counter Strike. It is
very easy to enter the world of eSports, no college education is required, so any gamer

A Comparison of Moral Conflict in Antigone and A Doll s...
Conflict Between Individual Morals and State Laws in Antigone and A Doll s House
Mother, should I trust the government? Or should I trust myself? This dilemma is a common one in a
great deal of literature. In Antigone and A Doll s House, the main theme is the question of whether one
should be true to oneself or true to one s state or society. Should Nora (in A Doll s House) and
Antigone (in Antigone) follow the rules and do what the state and society want them to do or should
they follow their own consciences? Both plays address the conflict between individual morals and
state laws, obedience and disobedience, and understanding oneself.
Antigone shows the contrast between state law and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For the state and state laws to exist there have to be the people too. The state depends on the people
and not just the ruler.
Haemon: A one man state? What sort of a state is that?
Creon: Why, does not every state belong to its ruler?
Haemon: You d be an excellent king on a desert island (Sophocles page #).
Haemon questions whether Creon s judgements are correct or not (above). For Antigone the divine
law is what should be used instead of the state law, which is defined only by what the king wants.
Therefore should Haemon and Antigone oppose the state law? The king makes up the main part of the
state, and decides whether the laws he makes are fair, and do not object to these laws otherwise he
wouldn t be king. Some may think that it is wrong that people should oppose the state s laws, and
should just follow them, but then they will never get to have their own beliefs and never have a better
understanding of themselves in the end.
In Antigone there is the state and its laws, but in A Doll s House we see more of the society, and the
laws it enforces on the individual. The society s rules prevent the characters from seeing and
expressing their true nature. When Krogstad tells Nora that the law takes no account of good motives,
she cries, Then they must be very bad laws (Ibsen page #). This causes a problem for the main female
characters, in deciding if

Example Of La Primavera
Exploration Document

Cultural Artifacts
My first work is La Primavera written by the Italian composer Antonio Vivaldi in 1723. La Primavera
is one of four violin concertos, each capturing moods and illustrating stories related to a specific time
of year. Each section within this movement illustrate the most beautiful scenes of the spring season,
including birds, babbling brooks, and a thunderstorm. (Soomo, n.d). My second work is an oil on
canvas painting, titled The Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone by Thomas Moran. The Grand Canyon
of the Yellowstone was painted in 1872 and captures the unique geological formations and diverse and
extravagant colors of the Midwestern United States landscape. (Cantrell, 2014). In an era before color
photography, this painting depicts nature itself as a hero . (Soomo, n.d)
Common Theme
The common theme shared by both chosen pieces of work is nature. Antonio Vivaldi embraces the
spring season and captures the moods and illustrates stories specific to that time of year. Thomas
Moran captured the true beauty of a Midwestern landscape of the United States. The colors, terrain,
and overall detail are realistic and allow the viewer to experience the extreme beauty of the Midwest.
Historians credit these inspiring images with showing the grandeur of the region and persuading
Congress and President Ulysses Grant to establish Yellowstone as the first national park in 1872.

being constantly ready requires resources. The county will allocate funds for training and equipment

precise coordination. Thus, emergency drills and training exercises for the county will be conducted
on a quarterly basis, while task force drills will be conducted at a minimum of an annual basis. This
constant state of training will allow for regular observation of capabilities, resources and plans in
order to validate current plans or adjust based on circumstances (Fema.gov, 2017). Preparedness
efforts often involve entire communities. This massive undertaking requires effective use of
communication tools, as well as meetings with shareholders, community leaders and community

organizations and all levels of government. When a disaster spontaneously occurs, unaffiliated

The movie Fight Club was based on the story of a man, played by Edward Norton, that had

The Lasting Influences of the Classical World on Other...
The Lasting Influences of the Classical World on Other Cultures across Time Drama and dramatic
performances have consistently been present throughout human society, both as a medium for
entertainment as well as a forum for education and critique. Aristophanes, the father of modern drama
, was the first to really successfully amalgamate these two ideas together within his dramatic pieces, as
can be seen in his works Wasps and Frogs. Shakespeare was the next great dramatist, and arguably the
great dramatist, and he has evolved Aristophanes ideas and methods and developed them to greater
extent. These can be seen in works such as A Midsummer Night s Dream, King Lear and Hamlet, but

Here the First Dog, representative of Cleon, is accusing Laches not of having siciliating (embezzling)
cheese (money) but of not having given the first dog his fair share. How can anyone claim to be
serving your interests if I, the Dog, am not given my fair share? says the first dog. Aristophanes uses
the character of the dog to highlight the corruption of Cleon and how he has his fingers in all of the
proverbial pies. He also uses the parabasis to criticise the jurymen of Athens, comparing the jurymen
to wasps and highlighting to the Athenians how the jurymen are prone to harsh sentencing and unjust

Aristophanes comments on the corruption of the jurymen, and their exploitation by the demagogue
Cleon. Philocleon personifies the self interested, corrupt jurymen, who are taking incentives from
Cleon (an increased pay) to judge harshly and sentence even more so. Cleon was using these trials to
gain public appraisal as a seeker of justice, of course at the expense of the accused, which had been
treated with an injustice by the jurymen eager to get their pay. Thus Aristophanes is enlightening the
audience about the nature of their jury system, and is appealing to them to fix it. Likewise,
Shakespeare addresses the issue of corruption within his play Hamlet. While not drawn from a real life
example (at least, not one that is known), he uses the character of Claudius to

The Problems Of Farmed Salmon
In recent years Pacific salmon have felt the true burdens of the aquaculture productions of farmed
salmon in the natural rivers that have hosted these salmon for centuries. Salmon farming has been on
the rise since the early 1990s and over these twenty five years, it has put an immense amount of
pressure on the wild salmon population and their ability to spawn. These negative impacts can be
directly link to numerous problems with farmed salmon, which includes the pollution and
contamination they produce to nearby water sources. Next, is the dilemma that farmed Salmon have is
the negative affect they have on migrating wild Salmon. Their interaction can causes diseases to
spread to wild pacific salmon while they swim close to the farms during their seasonal runs. Another
major concern with disturbance is the interbreeding between farmed salmon and wild salmon. The
final problem, is the health risks that are associated with consuming higher concentrations of possible
toxic and carcinogenic contaminant often found in farmed salmon meat. The act of raising salmon in a
aquaculture environment can be detrimental to the ecosystem and humans of BC, because of the
pollution, contamination, disturbance farmed salmon have on wild salmon and more importantly, the
health risks aquaculture has on humans. Pollution and contamination from farmed salmon imposed on
their wild salmon counterparts is the largest and most destructive aspect of their coexistence in British
Columbia Pacific Ocean.

The Consequences Of Love In Wuthering Heights And A Storm...
Love and war are exactly alike. It is lawful to use tricks and slights to obtain a desired end. (Don
Quixote. Cervantes. Part II Chapter 21). The spark of love can be compared to that of an actual fire,
one constructed slowly with proper materials will have a long lasting flame; one built with improper
materials will burn with blitz, or not at all. The consequences of love are always overlooked, as the
flame it creates is blinding. Love is the Achilles heel of a character s honour. It s force allows
impossible, or forbidden relationships between relatives, opposing personalities or opposing sides.
Shakespeare s Romeo and Juliet could have never lead a platonic relationship, raised on opposing
sides to hate each other; it is the power of love that allowed such a relationship to form. The same
goes for characters in Wuthering Heights and A Storm of Swords. It blinds to the consequences of
breaking vows and rules, and forsaking honour. In George R.R. Martin s A Storm of Swords, and
Emily Brontë s Wuthering Heights, ill fated relationships lead to feuds waged, broken families, and
ultimately death, because a vow or rule was broken, thereby demonstrating the immense repercussions
of dishonour.
In A Storm of Swords, Prince Rhaegar Targaryen and Lyanna Stark are married to, or betrothed to
another. They run off together, dishonouring themselves, their partners, and their houses; leading to
war, devastation, and the death of themselves and their families. Rhaegar swore a vow

Two anoles on different islands can have similar traits as long as their ecological niches are similar,
however geographic isolation was the cause to have 3 different species evolving. They might have
evolved by having swam, floated on natural rafts, or the islands may have been connected at one
point. Therefore, lizards on the same island are more closely related to each other than lizards that
have similar body shapes and live in the same type of habitat. Lizards from the same island are more
closely related to one another than to similar looking lizards from other islands. For example, a grass

Describing Cell Division Essay
Hypothesis: To observe cells located in an onion root tip and identify which stage of cell division the
cells are in.
Introduction: Prevost and Dumas (1824)first proposed cell division, when they described cellular
division in fertilized frog eggs. In 1858 Rudolf Virchow popularised the one omnis cellulae cellula
epigram ( Every cell originates from another existing cell like it ). Strasburger in 1873 found this
epigram to be true, as he and Flemming found out that new nuclei was developed from pre existing
ones. The term of mistosis was used to describe this process by Flemming in 1882(Tan 2006). Cell

Centriole replication also begins in G1 and normally continues until G2.When the activities of G1
have been accomplished the cell begins the S phase. In this phase there is DNA replication and the
synthesis of proteins and histones in the nucleus. The aim of DNA replication in cells is to prepare the
cells to undergo mitosis, copying the genetic information in the nucleus . A single chromosome copy
is given to each of the daughter cells.Once DNA replication is completed there is a concise G2 phase
dedicated to last minute protein synthesis and completion of centriole replication. The cell will then
enter the M phase (prophase, metaphase, anaphase and telophase) and the beginning of mitosis.During
prophase the DNA changes to form chromosomes while for mitotic spindle made of proteins called
micro tubules begins to form and attaches to the kinetochores on each chromosome. In metaphase the
chromosomes are moved to the centre plate of the cell by the spindle microtubules. In anaphase the
micro tubules attached to the kinetochores of each chromosome shorten pulling the chromatids of each
chromosome to polar ends of the cell while the unattached micro tubules stretch the cell.
During telophase the chromatid is now called chromosomes. It reaches the poles of the cell as the
unattached microtubules continue to elongate. This is then followed by cytokinesis.

returns to his shop, He then puts all the jars in a dumpster.
The next day when Tyrone comes downstairs to his shop, he is shocked by the fact that all of his salsa
is gone! He walk over to Zander s shop and asks him if he know where his salsa is, and Zander says
that he has no clue and didn t even know his salsa was gone so Tyrone figured that if it was not Zander
than he should probably just give up because that would mean that it is some robber that is long gone
by now.
Zander goes back to his evil scheming. He plans to blow up Tyrone s shop. So a few nights later he
returns (Tyrone doesn t use locks obviously) to Tyrone s shop and starts to place the dynamite he
ordered on eBay, but as he is doing so, Tyrone comes down the stairs to go the bathroom and catches

Apple Bees Thesis
It was a normal Tuesday night and my family and I walked into the local Apple Bee s, one of our go to
restaurants because of the wide variety, good service, and great taste. The waitress led us to our table
with a big smile on her face. She began by telling us her name, saying the specials for the day, and
taking our drink orders. She then left while she got us our drinks, and she gave us time to look at the
menu. She came back with our drinks and took our orders. Before she left once again to put our orders
in, my dad presented her our coupon; buy one entrée get an entrée free. That is when the poor service
began. The waitress wasn t quite as willing to help us, her smile faded, the service was slow, and the
food was good, but not amazing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I have received bad service because of the early reveal of the coupon at more than just Apple Bee s, it
has also happened at Chevy s, one of the Mexican restaurants in town. While this is not apparent to
everyone, next time you give the waiter or waitress your coupon before receiving your food pay
special attention to the service you receive. Your food will likely take longer to arrive, and your waiter
or waitress also will be less willing to help you. Waiters and waitresses are less willing to put on the
fake smile after you present the coupon and instead they pour more of their attention and care into the
other tables they are waiting on. Both the waiter or waitress and the cooks know that your meal will
cost less with the coupon, and that they in turn will get a smaller tip, so why would they give you as
good of service as the person who is paying full price for their meal? The person paying full price is
probably more willing to give a larger tip as well, therefore, the waiter and waitress will give more
attention to them. Despite if you agree with me or not, know this; next time you are at a restaurant
wait until you have received all your food before presenting your coupon. This will ensure you that
you will receive better service, and your food

Comparing Hepzibah And Clifford In The House Of Seven Gables
The comparison in the changes between Hepzibah and Clifford both effects their lives great in The
House Of Seven Gables. The reader may feel that Clifford s changes effected him more and were
brought upon him by society. Clifford was forced to make changes and had to do it so his past would
not repeat himself. He had to find out a new way of life and how to adjust to the new society he lives
in. Clifford changed more than Hepzibah in this novel for several reasons.
Clifford changed the most in this novel upon his release from prison for thirty years. He was framed
for murder which he did not commit, which put him in jail for thirty years. After getting out of jail for
that long is a huge shock cause a lot could change and Clifford needs to figure out how to go back to

Freshman In Volleyball
One of my biggest fears as a Freshman in college is gaining the Freshman fifteen. So I decided to be
proactive and join the volleyball team. Volleyball is a sport that I relish and I find myself to be rather
superior at. Earlier last week, I set up an appointment with Coach Dawn to examine my volleyball
skills, therefore I could get a spot on the team. Day in, and day out, I was perfecting my performance,
therefore Coach Dawn did not have to hesitate on choosing me to be on the team. When it was time
for me to show off my skills I was beyond confident. We began running drills, I missed a few serves,
but I was still amped up to do more. Less than seven minutes into our practice she had me gather all
the volleyballs and put them in the cart.

Nucleotide Groupings
Inside each phone of every living thing (plant or creature) are sets of directions called qualities. The
qualities give the guidelines on what is the plant or creature, what it would appear that, how it is to
survive, and how it will associate with its encompassing surroundings. The qualities are hung together
in long stands of material called deoxyribonucleic corrosive (DNA) and these long strands are called
chromosomes. Most living things have sets of chromosomes (one from every guardian), however they
might have an alternate number of chromosomes from another living thing. For instance, people have
23 sets of chromosomes and the organic product fly has 4 sets.
Every quality is comprised of long blends of four distinctive nucleotide bases. It is the different mixes
of the nucleotide bases that decide everything around a living animal.
The four nucleotides are called:
adenine(A),
cytosine (C),
guanine (G), and
thymine (T).
The quality for green eyes may have this nucleotide arrangement.

The quality for blue eyes may have this nucleotide grouping.

Bradford Assay Lab Report
Abstract For this lab we will use Bradford assay and spectrophotometers in order to determine the
concentration of protein in commercially produced food products. The experiment concluded the three
given milk samples, breakfast milk has the most amount of protein. After calculating and recording
data, we founded that whole milk had the least amount of protein, and breakfast milk ended up having
the most protein. Leaving Muscle Milk with less protein than the breakfast milk and more protein than
the whole milk. This research will help people in wisely choosing their intake of commercially
produced food.

First we began setting the spectrophotometer to 595 nm. We than label each cuvette with numbers
corresponding to the concentrations. To each cuvette we added 1 ml of coomassie blue dye and on the
blank cuvette we added 20 ul of PBS (Phosphate Buffered Saline). We then added 20 ul of each
standard to the respective cuvettes using a new clean tip for each use. Each cuvette was covered with
parafilm and inverted to mix allowing it to sit for a total of 5 minutes. We first inserted the blank
cuvette into the spectrophotometer and pressed blank once right after we put in each of the cuvettes
with the protein concentrations. In between each cuvette we put in a blank before the next step. After
the absorbance were recorded, we created the standard curve. We then graphed the standard curve,
with solutions and their protein concentrations. We then labeled each cuvette along with a blank. We
repeated the process from finding the standard curve with the known solution. We then used the
equation from the standard curve in order to find the concentrations of proteins and compared. The
concentration is the independent variable which is plotted on the x axis and the absorbance is the
dependent variable which is plotted on the y axis. For the mathematically a straight line of best fit is
used by using the point slope equation, y = mx + b, where m is the slope of the line and b is the

International Criminal Court Argumentative Essay
In 1998, the International Criminal Court was created through the Rome Statute. The court was made
with the intention of being a justice system that had jurisdiction over international crimes such as war
crimes and genocide. Originally, there were 124 states that ratified the International Criminal Court
and there were 31 states that signed. Recently, states have decided to leave the International Criminal
Court or retract their signatures. There are many arguments as to why these states are choosing to
leave, but, specifically for African states like South Africa, people argue that the International
Criminal Court is mainly prosecuting crimes committed in Africa; they believe they are spending an
unfair amount of time on the crimes in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
From the point of view of a realist, states tend to pursue their own interests. Specifically, states that
have not ratified the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court can do what they deem
necessary whether or not it is in accordance with international law. Therefore, states, such as South
Africa, are driven by their own self interest to leave the International Criminal Court. For South
Africa, their self interests may include protecting their citizens from what they believe is an unjust
court system. African leaders, like the leaders in South Africa, believe that the International Court
System is biased and is a tool for Europe to beat up on Africa. (NEW YORK TIMES ARTICLE). In
particular, realists believe that self interest is driven by the state s pursuit of power. In this case, the
countries that are not under the International Criminal Court s jurisdiction do not have to follow the
international laws that are defined in the Rome Statute. Therefore, in pursuit of power, the South
African government may choose to follow the suit of other powerful countries and leave the
International Criminal Court. In contrast to the realist view, constructivism is based on the fact that the
system is created by the states, and, therefore, anarchy is

Canada in the Global Economy Essay
Canada in the Global Economy
Over the past few years, Canada s economy has done comparatively well and has demonstrated some
resilience to the fluctuating global economy. However, Canada remains to be relatively less
competitive with respect to other developed countries. In this paper I will attempt to take a closer look
at Canada s position in the global economy today and examine the relevant issues.
Competition is an important driver of innovation and productivity growth. Looking at the domestic
Canadian economy, perhaps one of the most significant barriers to a strong domestic economy is the
lack of intense competition among domestic firms. There are many reasons for this. First of all, the
size of the Canadian ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is in part due to the fact that the Canadian economy fails to support the development of domestic
giants because of the reasons discussed above. As a result, value added activities, for example R D, are
not performed in Canada. The branch plant operations simply carry out non strategic and non value
added operations that do not give the county any competitive advantages or innovative drives.
Furthermore, re investment is limited in the Canadian operations because the majority of the resources
are allocated to build the companies? competitiveness, which is often done elsewhere.
Besides a relatively non competitive business environment, Canada?s labour force also lacks the
competitive mindset. Structural employment remains high, which is partly due to the existence of
social assistance and unemployment insurance systems. Work incentives are low under the protection
of the employment insurance program, which indirectly contributes in a higher than the desirable
unemployment rate. Furthermore, unions and other similar groups do not promote many incentives for
workers to stay competitive in the workplace by continuously learning and improving productivity.
Countries that have been most successful in cutting unemployment are those that have improved

The Souk Al-Manakh Stock Market Crash
Introduction
In August of 1982, an informal Kuwait stock market known as Souk al Manakh collapsed (Rasmaroni,
2006). This happened when a female speculator presented a post dated check for payment and it
bounced ( Kuwait s Souk , n.d.). This relatively small destabilising factor caused enormous losses, and
the financial system was nearly crippled with some $92 billion (Rasmaroni, 2006) from about 6,000
investors ( Kuwait s Souk , n.d.). Is this event the only factor that caused the crash? And what made
the crash so huge? To reveal the answer we have to dig deeper into history.

to understand them in order to know ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
With only about half of the Souk al Manakh companies even publishing annual reports, most of these
companies were little more than shell games with very little in the way of assets, let alone earnings.
Company fundamentals mattered very little, however, to traders who regularly saw these same stocks
rising 20 to 50 percent a month. Eventually, the securities of fifty four real and fictitious off shore
companies were traded on the Souk al Manakh with no relation to company performances or
prospects. Most of these companies had been founded as recently as 1979 or 1980 ( Kuwait s Souk ,
n.d.).
Adding fuel to the fire was the type of informal margin financing through the use of post dated checks.
They were accepted as a cash equivalent. This type of personal credit didn t require a bank balance. (
Kuwait s Souk , n.d.) The Kuwaiti culture mandated that payment should be made, else you would
have violated the tradition of trust and caused a loss of face upon the entire family. This caused a big
amount of speculative capital letting the Kuwaiti stocks skyrocket. The shares increased by an average
of 63% in 1981 ( Kuwait s Souk , n.d.). Not all transactions were made using post dated checks. At
least some of Kuwaiti merchants were willing to invest money of the stock exchange. They

How Spiritualism Is A Form Of Worship Spiritualism is a form of worship that believes in both a world of matter and material things, such as people, animals, etc., and a world of spirits or metaphysical beings and happenings. The religion of Hawaii was partially spiritualism and also polytheistic. Polytheism is the belief in many gods. (Imagine) Their gods ruled over the natural occurrences of the world such as the seas, volcanoes, earth, and sky. (Got Religion) One major volcano that was particularly precious to them was Mauna Kea. Mauna Kea was believed to be the place where the sky god met the god of earth; also it was where the other deities met. Basically, Mauna Kea was the Hawaiian Mount Olympus. One tribe, the Cherokee, was compelled to leave their lands in Oklahoma by the United States Government. (Trail) This event came to be known as The Trail of Tears . These people were forced from their lands, homes, worship sites, and ancestral burial grounds in the name of progress. Foreign progress, to them, if I may add. They, at their core, did not care that Continental America was flourishing. They only wanted to be left alone in their ancestral homeland. Now, in their eyes, they were being persecuted for their faith and culture. One group of Sioux stood up against the tide of imperialism. They were victorious at the Battle of Little Bighorn, but were defeated at the massacre of Wounded Knee. Wounded Knee was the final major conflict that put the majority of the Native Americans in their place . The Sioux under Big Foot were ordered to give up their fire arms. They responded with a reply, saying they had none. The medicine man began to dance the Ghost Dance frantically, while wearing paint. • 5. Poland DBQ Diego Lopez Liranzo 22 September 2014 AP European History Form VI Analyse the factors that contributed to the emergence of a workers opposition movement in Communist Poland in the period 1956 1981. After World War II, the official communist party dominated all aspects of Polish politics, which soon became an issue with not only the working class of the country, but also the intellectual and educated Polish community. Between 1956 and 1981, there was an emergence of workers opposition against the communist party in Poland due to the blatant oppression and desperate living conditions of many of the Polish workers and their families. Workers demanded rapid change in policy from the party because the workers believed the government had ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... (Doc 4) The intellectual and party member support helped the workers movement gain serious momentum. A major factor in the emergence of the workers opposition movement also was the support of the Catholic Church and the Pope specifically. In September of 1976, the bishops of the Catholic Church in Poland called for the government and party to fully respect civil rights and conduct a real dialogue with society while also demanding that they stop all repression of workers involved in the protests of June 1976. (Doc 5) The fierce and somewhat scolding tone in which the demands are made show the Catholic Church s unwavering support for the Polish workers opposition. It is not surprising, however, that a group of Catholic bishops would demand better treatment for the Polish workers because, as members of the church, they would naturally be in favour of social justice. The value of having the Catholic Church support the movement manifests itself in the fact that the Polish communist party begins to require all teachers to tell students that the pope is an enemy and dangerous man who only wishes to charm the crowd. (Doc 7) This response to the pope s support demonstrates that the party itself realised that the church could have tremendous impact on the turnout of the opposition. By the 1980s, a coalition of independent trade unions, known as Solidarity, was established in Gdansk. The photograph of Lech Walesa and other ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Interest rate is the amount charged by a lender from the borrower for the use of assets such as cash or goods and is represented in the form of percentage typically noted on an annual basis. There are two types of Interest: Simple Interest and Compound Interest. Values of both can be calculated by the formulae written below: Simple Interest = Principal x Annual interest rate x Years . Compound Interest = Principal x [(1 + ( Interest rate ) Years ( Months )) 1]. Compound Interest is higher in comparison to the Simple Interest because the interest is being charged monthly on the principal and the accrued interest from the previous months. To ... • 10. Fingerprints Are Not The Same Techniques We Use Today Fingerprints have been used for a very long time, as far back as 3,000 years ago in China as identification. The use of ancient fingerprints are not the same techniques we use today. In 1880, a man by the name of Henry Fauld, a Scottish physician working in a hospital in Japan, published his own views on the potential application of fingerprinting to personal identification (Saferstein, 2016, pg. 164). He suggested that the skin patterns could be important for the identification of criminals. After comparing different fingerprints, he began to realize that each print looked remarkably different. Fauld believed that fingerprints could be used as evidence and suggested the proposal to a fingerprint testing center, but the offer was rejected. Years later, the first prosecution fingerprints were used in the year 1905 in London (Rotella, Abbott, Gold, 2001). Ever since then fingerprints have been a valuable part of crime scene investigations and if present, it is almost guaranteed that the criminal will fit the crime. It has been a successful technique that has proved more success than any other piece of evidence. When looking at two pairs of hands it is hard to notice anything different between the two. However, there are remarkable differences between the individual s fingerprints. Fingerprint analysts have formulated three basic principles of fingerprints that hold the prints uniqueness, stability, and appropriateness as a mean of identification. Before being able to ... • 11. Why Do White People Come Out Of Slavery Firstly, i believe that it was very hard on native americans that were coming out of slavery because they could not be around white or do many things white people could do therefore it was like the white people had more expensive thing for example clean water and blacks had to drink out of filthy water fountains. Also, blacks could not be in the same stores and things as white people and blacks and whites were not able to talk without being made fun of or even be investigated or even spied on because many and most people thought that whites should stay to their own race just as blacks meaning many people thought it was in the wrong for a white person and a black person to be together or have any type of relationship. And, it was hard on blacks because they could not have the same things and supplies in as great condition as whites and if they did they were very lucky. Next, i think that if we would have accepted people and ourselves for who we are and we would not have have this problem for example if people would see that we are all humans and all should be treated the same we would all be better citizens in the world and things around would ... The Inevitability Of Failure Summary Summary of Article The Inevitability of Failure: The Flawed Assumption of Security in Modern Computing Environments The article, which addresses security loopholes in modern computing environments, by Loscocco et al highlights what is and has been being done security wise in the past and how secure these implementations were and going forward what should be done to ensure in depth security which guarantees system wide security (1998). The article first explains features of secure operating system and why current systems implemented under the notion of application space security ultimately failed to safe guard the integrity and confidentiality of our assets. The article then continued with general examples of access control and cryptography implemented in the application space with no or little support from operating system and showed their vulnerabilities to attacks such as tampering, bypassing and spoofing. The article supplied real life examples to support the evidence that building security in the application space without secure operating system is meaningless. The article raised concrete examples on mobile code security, Kerberos network authentication service, IPSEC and SSL network security protocols and firewall. The paper finally put an interesting remark that security implemented in application space without secure operating system is like building a house in a pile of sand and it also emphasized that secure operating system without better security on the ... For most people college gets them to where they want to be, but with hard work and dedication going to work right after high school can take you a long way. Getting out of high school and starting a career early might be what some people want, but college is always an option with all the help they have today. College is a waste of time and money for a couple reasons. The fact that you spend 13 years in school just to go on to most likely spend four more years at some sort of college makes some kids think when it comes to should I go to college or not. Some kids believe that you can make more money working right after high school then heading to college for four years. Statistics say in College is a Waste of Time and Money by Caroline Bird, that if you put in the money you would have spent on college in the bank and let the interest alone build it up; by the time you are ready to retire you will have an extra $199,000. Although no bank will give a student that kind of money to put into a savings account that number opens a student s eyes. With that said, you will be completely debt free if you choose to go into the work force directly after high school. In 2015 on average a student was in debt $35,000 after just one year. MarketWatch. The Influence of Rationalism on the French Revolution Ben Jorgensen Professor Wakefield English 5 3 April 2013 The Influence of Rationalism on the French Revolution What was the driving force behind the French Revolution? Many people may say it was financial, or political, and while I would agree that these things were part of the force that propelled the French Revolution, I would assert that the philosophies of the Enlightenment were the dominant force that blasted late eighteenth century France into revolution . In his article, The French Revolution: Ideas and Ideologies Maurice Cranston of History Today articulates that the Enlightenment philosophies were pivotal in the revolutions inception. He writes that: The philosophes undoubtedly provided the ideas. Cranston goes on to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The King shared his powers with nobody, and was answerable for its exercise to nobody but God. (21) The ancien regime government lacked reason, but was bursting with more than its fair share of divine laws and rights that the creator had set in place in order to insure social stability. In fact, as Doyle points out in his book, this concept that God had set forth a divine law to be followed was directly stated in a document that parliament wrote: This social order is not only essential to the practice of every sound government: it has its origin in divine law. (24) The document goes on to say that: The infinite and immutable wisdom in the plan of the universe established an unequal distribution of strength and character, necessarily resulting in inequality in the conditions of men within the civil order... (24) This document summed up the ancien regimes ideology: God has placed the king the clergy, and aristocracy above the common people and that is how it is, because that is how it has been. The words irrational, divine, and superstitious come up many times when describing the ancien regimes government and society; in fact, these things were actually integral to the maintenance of government and society in France during the ancien regime. Throughout the book, readers learn many valuable life lessons shown through everyday examples in Samantha s (the main character) life. Each event in the book relates to the theme about keeping your head held high and not giving up. Since Sam was a little girl, she had a passion for soccer and dreamed of becoming a professional one day. For Samantha, Saturday was not just a regular day, it was game day and Sam was so excited, as usual. She jumped out of her car and ran on to the field as she would usually do. • 17. Correlation Between Quartz And Quartz Size For the difference in properties for the Quartz size the 30 size was the outlier in all trends it also had the highest standard deviation in the Dry, suspended, and saturated samples. There was not enough difference in data to validate the removal of outliers. If the 30 quartz size is not taken into account the weight of the samples increased with a increase in quartz size. For the average bend strength there was no trend in strength based on the quartz size most of the samples where within standard deviation of each other. This result can be expected because of the testing method used and the number of samples. Porcelain has randomly dispersed intrinsic flaws location and sizes, so the values of the sample would be different if the same samples where tested on the half s of the original sample. A material is only as strong as is largest intrinsic flaw. The bulk density, apparent specific gravity and percent open porosity is shown in table (4). There was no significant difference between in the bulk density and apparent specific gravity of the samples. This shows that the amount of air in the samples are the same thought the quartz sizes. For the percent open porosity there is also a deviation from the 30 quartz size. Ignoring that size the amount of open porosity increases with the increase in quartz size. This makes sense given the fact that the larger the quartz size the easier it is for unwanted materials to burn off such as hydrocarbons. Table 4: shows the bulk ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

I will mention both advantages and disadvantages of living there and compare LA with another major American cities. To start with, I should say that apart from my own liking for this place, there are a lot of important features of living in this city which make one s life better. First of all, the population density in LA, which is about 3040/km2, is quite high, but in contrast with Chicago, where the density is about 4447/km2, the city is not overpopulated, and it is not as densely populated as New York, where the density is 160/km2. As you can see, the weather conditions in LA are wonderful and definetely count as an advantage of living in Los Angeles. Furthermore, in comparison with Miami and Dallas crime indexes, the crime index in LA is not very high. On the other hand, it is a pity that the air quality in Los Angeles is incredibly bad as it is only 1 point out of 100, which makes the air quality index in LA the lowest, whereas Miami has 65,3 points and Dallas has 32,3. Pros And Cons Of Therapeutic Robots Medical technology has evolved, starting from the nineteenth century to further development of the medical technologies such as the diagnostic technology now being able to find the diagnosis of the patient by automatically recording the data of the illness. Doctors and other health professions are now able to prevent illnesses from getting worse; the evolvement of medical technology has further allowed us to help diminish certain health illness(es). For example, the therapeutic robots have been developed to help treat illnesses such as dementia but further studies have proven that therapeutic robots can do so much more. Therapeutic robots are robots used for companionship and therapy; it is a robotic pet such as an otter, cat, seal, and/or dog that operates like a real pet to help someone s health issue. Yet, therapeutic robots are seen as controversial since many people view therapeutic robots as a way of raising ethical concerns since they believe that therapeutic robots can eventually replace humans. The first scene of the first act of King Lear had a genuinely dramatic affect upon me. This first glimpse into the world of Lear and his subordinates sets the premise for the whole play, unravelling within the first few pages, themes which I believe will become increasingly evident. The scene opens with the introduction of three characters Kent, Gloucester and Edmund. Of these three characters the only one who seems not to have been shown in an unfavourable light yet, by this brief introduction, is Kent. At this point of the scene it can be clearly noticed how similar Goneril and Regan are, as Regan asks Lear to measure her worth as he measured Goneril s. This closeness seems symbolic in a way to the close knit coven in Macbeth, as these women seem to have underlying deceptive qualities. Before considering Cordelia s answer to Lear, we must note her comments made during Goneril and Regan s speeches . This is keen use of the aside speech by Shakespeare as the audience would be able to hear Cordelia s confusion over what her response shall be and her truthful belief that her love is more ponderous than her tongue. Her indecision over what to say to her father shows really how much she does not want to offend him, but instead she does the opposite, as he cannot see beyond his pride, to her loyal words. When she says Nothing , she is indicating to him that he should no the worth of her love for him. The king, shocked with this appearance of ingratitude in his favourite child, desired her to consider her words, and to mend her speech, lest it should mar her fortunes. Cordelia then tells Lear that she loves him according to her station, and as much as he loves her as his daughter. She is as she says young...and true . Burkhard Bilger s piece, Nature s Spoils, explores the abnormal way of eating, which is the fermentation of food. It is usually a safe practice, and also produces vitamins in the making. The Omnivore s Dilemma by Michael Pollan expresses the problem of how humans select food. In How Do We Choose What to Eat? by Susan Bowerman she points out the influences on people s life that affects their eating habits. By using Bowerman s article as the keystone, Nature s Spoils and The Omnivore s Dilemma can be compared and contrasted. Since the food that people consume daily can affect them in the future, it must be chosen carefully. Guilt In Hamlet Essay Guilt is not a response to anger, it is a response to one s own action or lack of action the fact that king claudius killed Hamlet s father and he does nothing about it, through a lack of action this is how he obtains his guilt. Evidently Dunny from Davies fifth business experiences the same type of guilt by dodging a snowball intended for him, but injuries Mrs Dempster instead. Although the time in which guilt was experienced differs greatly, Davies Fifth Business and Shakespeare s Hamlet both have characters that experience guilt through a lack of action, and face isolation due to it. As a result, both characters go through an internal conflict regardless of how long they have felt that guilt. Dunny and Hamlet experience the same type of guilt but go about different ways of enduring or solving their problems. In Shakespeare s Hamlet, Hamlet s Guilt is not being able to do anything about his father s death. He is indecisive on what to do for most of the play, weighing is options out and going back and forth about killing his uncle and how he will go about doing it. Subconsicley guilt builds up in him and pours out at certain moments in the play. Hamlet does not understand how to get his revenge which takes over his every thought causing him to feel frustrated with himself. He is angered by the fact he has not killed his uncle yet and that he will not take action. peasant slave am I ( Shakespeare 2.2.535) This quote is a paradox, he emphasizes the struggle he is facing and continuing to shows that he is upset with himself. Hamlet calls himself the complete opposite of what he is, he is of royalty but compares himself to the lowest form of life in this time period. It seems though this helps Hamlet understand what he needs to do and how he should face his guilt, by creating the play that lead him to insure that he will kill his uncle. After all Hamlet goes through he is still hesitant about what he should do, but he finds hope in someone to help push himself to conquer the guilt that he is facing. A single chromosome copy is given to each of the daughter cells.Once DNA replication is completed there is a concise G2 phase dedicated to last minute protein synthesis and completion of centriole replication. The cell will then enter the M phase (prophase, metaphase, anaphase and telophase) and the beginning of mitosis.During prophase the DNA changes to form chromosomes while for mitotic spindle made of proteins called micro tubules begins to form and attaches to the kinetochores on each chromosome. In metaphase the chromosomes are moved to the centre plate of the cell by the spindle microtubules. In anaphase the micro tubules attached to the kinetochores of each chromosome shorten pulling the chromatids of each chromosome to polar ends of the cell while the unattached micro tubules stretch the cell. During telophase the chromatid is now called chromosomes. It reaches the poles of the cell as the unattached microtubules continue to elongate. This is then followed by cytokinesis. I have received bad service because of the early reveal of the coupon at more than just Apple Bee s, it has also happened at Chevy s, one of the Mexican restaurants in town. While this is not apparent to everyone, next time you give the waiter or waitress your coupon before receiving your food pay special attention to the service you receive. Your food will likely take longer to arrive, and your waiter or waitress also will be less willing to help you. Waiters and waitresses are less willing to put on the fake smile after you present the coupon and instead they pour more of their attention and care into the other tables they are waiting on. Both the waiter or waitress and the cooks know that your meal will cost less with the coupon, and that they in turn will get a smaller tip, so why would they give you as good of service as the person who is paying full price for their meal? The person paying full price is probably more willing to give a larger tip as well, therefore, the waiter and waitress will give more attention to them. The qualities give the guidelines on what is the plant or creature, what it would appear that, how it is to survive, and how it will associate with its encompassing surroundings. We then added 20 ul of each standard to the respective cuvettes using a new clean tip for each use. Each cuvette was covered with parafilm and inverted to mix allowing it to sit for a total of 5 minutes. We first inserted the blank cuvette into the spectrophotometer and pressed blank once right after we put in each of the cuvettes with the protein concentrations. In between each cuvette we put in a blank before the next step. After the absorbance were recorded, we created the standard curve. Specifically, states that have not ratified the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court can do what they deem necessary whether or not it is in accordance with international law. For South Africa, their self interests may include protecting their citizens from what they believe is an unjust court system. African leaders, like the leaders in South Africa, believe that the International Court System is biased and is a tool for Europe to beat up on Africa. (NEW YORK TIMES ARTICLE). In particular, realists believe that self interest is driven by the state s pursuit of power. In this case, the countries that are not under the International Criminal Court s jurisdiction do not have to follow the international laws that are defined in the Rome Statute. This relatively small destabilising factor caused enormous losses, and the financial system was nearly crippled with some $92 billion (Rasmaroni, 2006) from about 6,000 investors ( Kuwait s Souk , n.d.).
