Essay On Going To College
Writing an essay on the topic of going to college can be both challenging and rewarding. On one
hand, it's a subject that holds immense personal significance for many individuals, as it marks a
pivotal moment in their lives. On the other hand, the breadth of this topic can make it difficult to
navigate and capture all the essential aspects.
Firstly, delving into the personal aspect requires introspection and the ability to articulate one's
thoughts and experiences coherently. Narrating the journey towards deciding on college, the
challenges faced, and the aspirations for the future demands a careful balance of self-reflection
and objectivity. It's not just about sharing personal anecdotes but also weaving them into a
broader narrative that resonates with a diverse audience.
Additionally, addressing the broader societal context of going to college involves extensive
research. Understanding the current state of higher education, the evolving job market, and the
societal expectations surrounding college attendance is crucial. This demands time and effort to
sift through a plethora of information, discerning the relevant from the extraneous, and
synthesizing it into a cohesive argument.
Crafting a compelling thesis that encapsulates the essence of the essay is another hurdle. It
requires a nuanced understanding of the subject matter and the ability to present a unique
perspective that adds value to the existing discourse. Expressing one's thoughts with clarity and
precision is essential to engage the reader and convey the intended message effectively.
Moreover, maintaining a logical flow throughout the essay is a challenge. Transitioning smoothly
from one idea to the next, ensuring a seamless connection between paragraphs, and avoiding
repetition require careful editing and revision. Striking a balance between depth and conciseness
is essential to keep the reader engaged without overwhelming them with information.
In conclusion, while writing an essay on going to college presents its challenges, it is also an
opportunity for personal growth and exploration. It demands a combination of introspection,
research, and effective communication skills. Successfully navigating these challenges can result
in a compelling essay that not only showcases the author's unique perspective but also
contributes meaningfully to the broader conversation surrounding this significant life decision.

The Trichotomy Of Signs
Child highlights within his semiotic studies the unseen messages that carry a
significant amount of cultural, political and historical meanings. Photographs,
numbers, words and colours and how they are positioned in a small scale delivers
valuable messages to the reader . To analyse the stamps, Child discusses Peirce
three part typology The Trichotomy of Signs , Index, Icon and symbol in which all
three can work individually and blend together to deliver a symbolic meaning to the
reader. (Child, 2005 p. 114). Both stamps presented above are unique in delivering
information about Australia; they are also part of a commemorative series of stamps,
which follow the same/similar positioning of index, icon and symbol. Positioned in

Write An Essay On The High Roller Coasters
I buckle my seatbelt and pull down the orange safety harness, my stomach starts to
get butterflies. The workers who look like they are still in high school have our
lives in their hands. They go down the line dragging, as if they are sleepwalking.
The thumbs up is given to the booth, the green circle button is held down for us to
start creeping past the gate. Click click click, click click, click! We start to climb up
in the sky on the Renegade at Valleyfair. It is then that my heart starts to pound. I start
to doubt that this wooden roller coasteris going to hold us. We are so high up we can
see almost all the rides and attractions. I find the entrance of The High Roller, a
coaster I was trying to find earlier. We reach the top of the almost hundred foot tall

what looks to be a small bunny hop, but there is so much speed I am literally
floating in my seat. My bottom returns to it s place when we make a quick turn to
the left and back to the right. We go over 3 more laterals and we finally get a
chance to catch our breath from screaming and yelling for our lives. The furious
coaster takes off again and we go left and right on to steep banked curves, we go
onto a couple more laterals and the brakes start to squeal, we are coming to the end

Complexity Theory And Leadership Theory
Complexity theory and Leadership
There are many theories when it comes to leadership. Many of these date back
hundreds of years to military styles of leadership. The 1990 s saw the emergence of
a new theory in terms of leadership, Complexity Theory, which has since developed
further and has been implemented in some of the most successful companies in the
world.
What is complexity theory?
Computational modelling has become ever popular in industries that require
prediction of outcomes, by developing complex algorithms that attempt to predict the
outcome of certain complex actions. There are a variety of inputs that can drastically
change the output of the model. A similar model can be applied to human interaction,
with an infinite number ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Complexity theory is the understanding of the processes by which positive innovation
and change occurs.
How does it vary from traditional leadership methods
Each organisation begins out of innovation, someone has an idea and that idea
becomes the organisation. This is the Entrepreneurial System, and is responsible for
innovation and creativity (Goldstein, et al., 2009). Once the organisation is
functioning, the Administrative System begins to take over, accounting for
improvements in bureaucracy, efficiency and order. The trade off for efficiency and
order is to stifle the creative and innovative change that can lead to chaos (Hazy,
2006).
Traditional leadership styles dictate that when there is chaos, that order should be
restored, and often followers or employees search for order in times of chaos.
However, in applying total order to chaos, creativity and innovation are eliminated by
application of a hierarchal authoritarian system (Goldstein, et al., 2009).
Instead of oppressing creativity and innovation through order, complexity theory
embraces small amounts of chaos implementing minimal changes, encouraging
followers to perform their duties in a creative manner. It is important that the levels
of chaos do not lead to followers being unable to perform their duties; however,
acceptable levels of chaos should be embraced, allowing freedom of thought and
interaction between followers (Van de Van, et al., 1999).

Basically, the RTA is the same as the clearomizer, but the consumer can build their
own coils instead of buying pre made coils. RDA is completely different set up
unlike the RTA and clearomizer it does not have a tank to hold the e juice. In an
RDA, the consumer must build their own coils and wick them with cotton, this
allows them to customize their vaping experience to their liking. The downfall of
the RDA is that you must constantly drip e juice on the cotton to keep it moist. The
battery of the original electronic cigarette has been improved significantly and is

mods now have the capability to be set at 300+ watts and in correlation tanks are
now able to handle higher watts producing more vapor production. The quality of

An Analysis Of John Donne s Holy Sonnet 2
John Donne s Holy Sonnet 2 is primarily written in the traditional Petrarchan sonnet
form. One way in which Donne applies this traditional form is through the use of an
octave, in which the narrator establishes a problem that causes anxiety and personal
turmoil. The octave is then followed by a sestet, where the narrator attempts to
organise and present a solution to the issue given in the octave, or there is a change of
tone in the narrator s voice. Wisheth that still he might be imprisoned; / Yet grace...
Although there is a change in tone with the narrative voice, Donne s use of
punctuation and enjambment between lines eight and nine suggests that Donne does
not rigorously adhere to the traditional Petrarchan form. As the poem becomes
detached from this tradition and increases the narrator s conflict and feeling of
entrapment and suppression. This, in turn, might indicate that the narrator has no
solution for his black soul and reflects the narrator s anxiety and fear about not
being able to repent, or, at least, not being able to repent the way in which would
correspond to the narrator s personal religious beliefs. Anne Coles Kimberly argues
that the Calvinist doctrine held that man is resistant to God (due to sin), but that God
will draw his elect to him. Donne, however, is not
Death Of A Salesman Play Analysis
On February 10, 1949, Arthur Miller s Death of a Salesman premiered for the first
time at the Morosco Theatre in New York, NY. Initial reviews were positive, and
the play was described as a notable piece of stagecraft . Ever since, there have been
thousands of productions of Miller s famous play, including a recent production at the
Ethel Barrymore Theatrein 2012. However, this production did not garner the same
successes as its predecessors, despite the production was intended to become a
revival of the play, with a fresh interpretation. In his article, Erik Haagensen analyzes
Mike Nichols2012 production of Death of a Salesman, particularly how it fails to
revive the play due to poor casting.

Haagensen compliments Wittrock s ability to find the balance between Happy s
flirtatious, superficial side and his zealous, family oriented side. Haagensen laments
that Wittrock would have been a much better Biff than Garfield. Portraying Linda
Loman is none other than Linda Emond, who challenges how audiences have
previously perceived Linda Loman. Rather than the submissive wife, Emond
portrays Linda as a fiery mother who goes toe to toe with her husband and children.
Haagensen suggests that while she gives a strong performance, certain choices in
delivery make some moments fall flat. Another character Haagensen makes note of
is Willy s dead brother Ben, played by John Glover. The character, which is
presented as a figment of Willy s mind, is portrayed by Glover with ...a heightened
energy that transcends naturalism (Haagensen 18). Haagensen claims the production
has both positive casting choices, but also very negative ones. However, to him, the
negatives far outweigh the positives. In Haagensen s review, the casting choices
made by Nichols singlehandedly stifle the potential of his

South Korea s Historical Struggle With Tyrannical Rule
Essay
AbstractConsidering South Korea s historical struggle with tyrannical rule, the nation
has become quite a democratic force, mirroring its European and American
counterparts. Being a country that caters to different values, cultures, and social
structures, there are some considerable differences of their Criminal Justice System,
specifically their criminal procedures, policing, and prison populations. However, due
to their adaption of Western legal traditions there are similar marks within South
Koreas laws and constitution. Introduction
In the face of the initial plan of a unified Korea in the 1943 Cairo Declaration,
intensifying Cold War resentment between the Soviet Union and the United States, as
well as tensions within Korea with the Korean War, eventually led to the
establishment of separate governments, each with its own system, and to the division
of Korea into two political entities in 1948: North Korea and South Korea (Gohar,
1988). South Korea is a relatively small nation in the east located in the Southern
portion of the Korean Peninsula; it shares a properly guarded border with North
Korea, a communistic nation. To give more geographical perspective, South Korea
is surrounded by the Yellow Sea and the Sea of Japan, in which its namesake is not
too far off in the southeastern direction. With a population of around 50 million
people, more than half of its people is located in the country s capital, Seoul (Joo,
2015). Although it is a country of small

Unbroken By Laura Hillenbrand Analysis
Hillenbrand and the author of the text about Mine Okubo explain how
perseverance and resilience are essential for surviving difficult times. Throughout
both texts, the authors use several methods to develop this central idea. Unbroken
by Laura Hillenbrand provides a detailed description of how Louie Zamperini
survives being a prisoner of war. The author uses several ways to develop the
central idea of resilience and perseverance. One way the author develops this main
idea is by giving vivid descriptions. During the bombings of Wake Atoll, the author
uses graphic and vivid phrases like The islands were now a blaze of garish light. This
quote is just one instance where the author highlights how much resilience was
needed to survive this dangerous situation. Secondly, the author develops the main
idea by using problem and solution to show the resilience, grit, and perseverance
needed for this difficult situation. The text states Phil was fighting to get out and...

to the plane s crash, which required the crew to demonstrate resilience. Thirdly, the
text develops the central idea by using cause and effect. The cause was that the
plane made a watery crash, and there were many effects to follow. The text
demonstrates, Phil s mind was woozy and Blood spouted in rhythmic arcs from Phil
s head and washed in sheets down his face. These two quotes demonstrate just two
of the effects of the plane crash, all of which required extreme resilience to be put
forth by the crew. These three ways of central idea development show that resilience
can truly make the difference in surviving difficult

Association between Air Polluiton and Lung Cancer
Many epidemiologic studies have found an association between ambient air
pollution and lung cancer. This evidence lead the International Agency for Research
on Cancer (IARC) to report air pollution as a category 1 or definite cause of cancer.
The IARC reviewed over 1000 studies from five continents and covering many
different scientific fields. They concluded that air pollutionis linked to increased
cancer incidence, with lung cancerbeing the most prevalent (Pope, 2013).
Air pollution occurs when the air is contaminated by foreign substances. These
substances can be liquid or solid and they are small enough that they remain
suspended in the air. Some of the substances can be toxic chemicals which can
include sulphur dioxide (SO2), oxides of nitrogen (NOx), ozone (O3), volatile
organic compounds and suspended particulate matter (PM).
When talking about air pollution we categorize the particles with the term
particulate matter (PM). Suspended particulate matter (PM) is divided into three
groups based on the diameter of the particle. PM2.5 refers to particles with a
diameter less that 2.5 micrometers (Вµm), PM10 classifies particles with a
diameter between 2.5 and 10 Вµm, and PM10 defines particles with a diameter
greater than 10 Вµm. The relative risk of developing cancer as a result of exposure
to air pollution is generally small, but the attributable risk (relative risk multiplied by
the number of exposed people) is high. Because exposure is so high ambient air
pollution
Description And Analysis Of The Run Time Pattern
Overview: This section describes the interpretation and analysis of the results from
both of the experiments. The analysis is based upon the comparison of the theories
against the results of the experiment, whether the results support or reject the theory.
This section consists of the following analysis: comparison of the run time pattern in
three times execution, comparison of the overall run time using an arithmetic mean
approach and error analysis.
Run Time Pattern in Three Executions
MySQL (non cluster) had a stable pattern within three executions, while Hadoop did
not. According to my investigation, it caused by the following reason: I executed
MySQL (non cluster) through SSH window, whereas Hadoop was executed through
Ambari client browser. The connection through SSH did not use Internet public
network, while client browser used it. In other words, the public Internet network
only affected client browser.
Based on 10 times bandwidth measurement (appendix F), the Internet speed was
unstable. The Internet speed was unstable because it was a public network. As a
public Internet network used by other people as well, the speed of the network was
depending on the high/low network traffic. The traffic of public network was
unpredictable: some users might do heavy activities at one time, and few seconds
later the users did not do anything.
Hence, the instability of public Internet speed caused the instability of the total time
taken of Hadoop s activities. MySQL (non
Crossing Within Polylingual Families With Contested
Structure
Introduction
This research seeks to examine crossing within polylingual families with contested
structure. I analyzed a scene from the television show Trailer Park Boys in which a
three member family interact using the concepts of crossing, facework, and footing,
in order to answer my research question. I found that the central character uses
crossing as a method of performing facework. As a result of this, he also indicates
preference and dispreference to his family members.
Theoretical Framework
Crossing involves someone speaking in another language, dialect, or pattern
which feels distinctly other (Rampton, 2000, p. 54). This can occur in a wide
variety of contexts such as first generation Americans using English in a non
English household in order to embrace one cultural system over another. Or, using
a different pattern of speech around a significant other s parents in order to convey
positive social values. In the case of the scene I analyzed, the central character s
language is already crossed as he is a white man speaking almost exclusively
African American Vernacular English (AAVE). He further uses crossing to interact
with his Hispanic girlfriend. As a character, his crossed language is one of his most
defining qualities, making him an interesting case study. Because of the character s
use of AAVE as a white man, he can be juxtaposed with Mike , the person of interest
in a study of white teens and AAVE adoption (Cutler, 1999). Mike, like Jamie, the

The Differences Of Christine De Pisan And Geoffrey
Chaucer
Christine De Pisan and Geoffrey Chaucer are very important literature figures who
lived during the medieval age in Europe. They both had their significant works and
their role in society. Pisan contributed to draw attention to women s rights and
equality between sexes, and Chaucer contributed to enhance the English language.
Christine De Pisan was a poet, a women s right activist and a journalist who was
born in 1364 in Venice, Italy. Pisan learned Latin, Philosophy, Literature and
Sciences known at the medieval age. She received the sort of education that was
reserved for men of her class. Christine was married to Г‰tienne du Castel at the

Chaucer s father was a wine merchant. In 1357, Chaucer became a servant to
Countess Elizabeth, Countess of Ulster, who was the wife of Duke of Clarence.
Chaucer continued in the English court throughout his lifetime. He died in
October 25, 1400 in England and was buried in Westminster Abbey s poet s corner.
In 1359, Chaucer went off to flight in the Hundred Years War in France. He also
traveled to France, Spain and Italy on diplomatic missions. Chaucer was married to
Philippa Roet, the daughter of Sir Payne Roet in 1366. The couple had three or four
children. This marriage helped Chaucer s career in the English court, because
Philippa s sister, Katherine Swynford was married to John of Gaunt, the king s
fourth son. In around 1370, Chaucer went on diplomatic missions again in Florence
and Genoa. These travels exposed him to the works of poets such as Dante,

Dark Energy Vs Dark Matter
Dark matter and dark energy are some of the most mysterious phenomena in the
universe, sparking interest in many astronomers and physicists today. Although we
haven t yet found any way to directly observe either dark matter or dark energy,
scientists have been able to see it s effects and confirm the existence of these abstract
forces.
First of all, dark energy and dark matter are not as similar as you may think. They
both are extremely difficult if not impossible to detect and very little is known about
either but the similarities end there. Dark matter is the word we use to explain the
large amounts of matter that s gravity keeps galaxies from ripping themselves apart.
Dark energy, unlike dark matter is the force that counteracts gravity ... Show more

Essentially, it is the undetectable matter that influences the gravity of galaxies and the
way we perceive light from distant galaxies. This gravitational effect is the only way
we know that dark matter is there. This is because without a considerable amount of
matter in addition to the regular matter in the universe, large galaxies would not be
able to the forces of gravity and makes up more of the universe than dark matter and
regular matter combined (about 68% of the universe)
One theory on this is the possibility that the expansion of the universe is just a
property of empty space . This theory has to do with the fact that empty space is not
empty and may have its own form of energy that makes galaxies continually spread
out. A similar theory suggests that the universe s expansion is due to the virtual
particles popping in and out of existence in an incredibly short amount of time. This
theory suggests that these particles give off a small amount of energy that could
expand the universe. Another theory claims that dark energy is an energetic fluid
that fills empty space and expands all of space.
In conclusion, Dark matter and dark energy cannot be observed but affect our
universe in strange ways, and even though we know there effects are still quite a

rules have a long time existing and have showed in all cultures. Depending on the
geographic location, these etiquettes have changed. For example: if you live in

English people would think of these as an insult. They drink only tea, and it shall be

it is completely natural for us to fear aging. Because we fear aging so much,
scientists have found ways to lift wrinkles from one s face, replace bones with
metal, and put pigment into silver and grey hair. The human race has become so
obsessed with staying young, that aging is looked upon as something that should
be reversed. In T.S. Eliot s, The Lovesong of J. Alfred Prufrock, we follow a man
who is describing how he does not want to grow old for several different reasons.
This man has become so lost in societal pressures, that he sees nothing but gloom
with the upcoming years. Though it is a well accepted concept to reverse the
aging process, it should not be so heavily pushed on people. Since J. Alfred
Prufrock believes aging is an unacceptable outcome of life, there are many pieces of
advice I would give him. Among the many things I would tell Prufrock, some of the
most important would be; there comes a certain amount of wisdom with age, aging
allows one to teach younger and future generations, and growing old is a part of life
that must be accepted. High school students are constantly ridiculed because they are
not old enough to know anything about the world. Adults will laugh at teenagers for
the same silly mistakes those adults once made. Students are thought of as less than
because they have

Developing Entrepreneurial Intention Among Students As...
Developing entrepreneurial intention among students as tool for economic
development Make in India calls for robust growth of all the sectors of the economy,
more so of the manufacturing sector. Entrepreneurial innovations and initiatives,
creation of new jobs and higher economic growth are becoming concern for the
society, government and public administration of the country. The creation of
businesses is one of the major interventions that lead to solution to unemployment
problem (White and Reynolds, 1996), the economic and regional development
(Reynolds et. al, 2002) and promotion of innovation (Hisrich and Peters, 1989).
Therefore, in order to focus economic development program to create new business,
promoting entrepreneurial intent among the people is to be a prerequisite. Indian
government is allowing MNCs to establish their business in India to optimally utilize
national resources. This will check the tendency of indigenous companies to focus
only on domestic market and make them to become competitive so that they may also
transform into MNCs. However, without having core competences, initiative and
intent, how Indigenous business may become competitive. In the post liberalized era,
entrepreneurship became an important field of research. Furthermore, it has been
acknowledged that youth play an important role in designing the policies for
entrepreneurship to promote the creation of business. The cultural environment and

Ralph s Admirable Character
Thirdly, Ralph is the most admirable character because he is determined. Every one
on the island knows Ralph is a good leader. He is responsible, civilized and nice so
why would he not be a leader? In the novel, he sides with Piggy and never leaves
his side even though everyone else has. When he has beliefs he sticks to it and
never changes his idea no matter how much he is hated for it. He demonstrates
obvious common sense and very intelligent. He comes up with the idea to start a
fire with Piggy s glasses and to make huts to sleep. He wants to get rescued and is
focused on getting there, in the novel, his first priorities are the fire and getting
rescued. I m chief, said Ralph, because you chose me. And we were going to keep the

Railroad Workers Memorial
The Chinese Railroad Workers Memorial, 30 feet high, 16 x 28 feet at the base,
was sculpted by Eldon Garnet and Franicis Le Bouthillier in 1989. It is a dark 3 D
sculpted monument that made of wood and metals with some flower decorated at
the bottom. It is located beside the Toronto s downtown rail corridor on a quiet
street, Blue Jays Way, where can see the CN Tower. The Chinese Railroad Workers
Memorial is a railroad trestle with rails installed along the top. On the trestle, two
bronze workers lift the timber by using ropes and pulleys. The social function of this
monument is to honour thousands of Chinese workers died while building the

When people sees this memorial, they can image how danger it is as they related

would know that in the process of building CPR, many workers lost their lives.
Therefore, the Chinese Railroad Workers Memorial is important to Chinese workers

The racial hierarchy of Cuba is a color spectrum with many categories and
subcategories ranging from azul or blue black to rubio or blonde (Roland 34).
Echoing colonial precedence, the lighter of the skin tones in this spectrum represent
the upper class and are viewed as more desirable. Holding this standard above the
people of Cuba resulted in disparity based upon where someone fell on this color
scale. As Roland, an African Americanwoman, wrote, People who did not
immediately recognize me as a foreigner assumed I was around foreigners because
I was a jinetera a female hustler or prostitute (54). At the start of the novel, Roland
describes an instance when this assumption affected her in a social situation. Within
the first day of arriving in Cuba, Roland went out to a bar with her fellow students
and was repeatedly given a watered down drink. After voicing her discontent, one of
their companions (who was a local) told her that the bartender had most likely
assumed that she was a prostitute since she was the only dark skinned woman among
the group (Roland 1). Roland finds repeated instances that mirror her own experience
of outside influences fabricating her identity and image.
In an attempt to escape the mistreatment and marginalization in Cuba many people go
to measures like prostitution or hustling, jinetera/os or luchadores (these terms can be

The Holy Spirit Intercession In The United States
The Spirit Intercedes for Us
Romans 8:26 27 gives one of the roles the Spirit plays in the life of believers; and,
that is in the area of intercession. Intercession can be defined as an act of intervening
or mediating between differing parties, particularly the act of praying to God on
behalf of another person . There are a number of instances in the Old Testament
where the act of intercession is found. Whereas these were literal events, they also
pictured the intercessory role that the Holy Spirit would have towards the believers
in the New Testament. Below is an analysis of Gen 18 (Abraham interceding for Lot)
and how it pictured how the Spirit intercedes for believers.

18:25, the Lord mentions that He would not destroy the righteous with the wicked;
actually, in Gen 18:26 the Lord assures Abraham that If He was to find in Sodom
fifty righteous within the city, then He would spare all the place for their sakes. In
Gen 18:27 33, Abraham goes ahead to plead before the Lord to spare the city
whether there be found forty five, forty, thirty, twenty, or ten righteous. The Lord was
not angry with Abraham, and, He assured him all through that for the righteous sake,
He would spare the cities.
In this passage, Abraham represents the Holy Spirit, Lot represents the believers, and
the wickedness of Sodom and Gomorrah represents the wickedness on the earth.
Below are primary lessons on the Spirit s intercession for the believer;
Just like the Lord would not hide anything from Abraham, so does He with the Holy
Spirit the Father does not hide anything from the Holy Spirit. The Spirit searches all
things including deep things of God. The reason Abraham was able to intercede for
Lot was because the Lord revealed to him what He was going to do. Similarly, the
Spirit is able to intercede for believers because the Lord reveals all things to the

components such as rows, columns, and formula bar.
The presentation is based on the 2010 version of excel, however through the tutorial
it compares what features were replaced or taken away from the 2007 excel version.
Excel is a spreadsheet program that allows you to store, organize, and analyze
information. During this tutorial, you will learn your way around the Excel 2010

and the quick access toolbar, as well as how to create new workbooks and open
existing ones (GCF Global, 2015).
When you open an Excel workbook, there are three worksheets by default. The

Should People Avoid Participation Continue To Hand Out...
Betty Barden once said When awards are handed out like candy to every child who
participates, they diminish in value. Every kid has gotten a participation trophy at
some point, or a medal, or even a slip of paper saying You did it! But after
sometime, those awards become meaningless. It s an award showing that someone
participated in something. Does every olympian get a gold medal? If everyone
continues to hand out awardsfor just showing up, no one will ever have to work for
anything. People will expect rewards, good grades, or even trophies to just be handed
to them. Participation trophies should be given out very carefully and with great
caution.
People hand out trophies all the time, right? If people continue to hand out trophies

Participation might decrease because the amount of video games, phone, tablets,

someone showed up, no one would attempt to succeed, It s through failure and

Everyone would be a winner. There would be no competition. Success will become
meaningless if everyone wins. There would be no definite winner. It would not be

How Do People Perceive Themselves
I thought it was interesting that there is so much information and thought that can
go into determining if we know ourselves better than anyone else, or if others can
tell us more about ourselves than we are able to. Prior to reading the article by
Vazier and Carlson (2010, p 605 616), I was under the impression that only you can
truly determine what you are like, and therefore what others say is only a reflection
of what you are willing to show them. While I still believe that my interpretation of
the selfknowledge isn t necessary wrong, the readings providing an excellent view

This might, among self deception, which is mentioned in the Vazier and Calson
article (2010, p. 611) be a reason for why some people perceive themselves to be
one way, and those around them perceive them to be another. I believe this applies
to the real world, because many people perceive themselves to be the best person
to determine their true nature in regards to self knowledge. This article relates to
real life, in particular that the way people measured themselves in regards to
behavior, did not vary much from how people acted within a laboratory setting,
indicating that behavior is something that people have a relatively strong
understanding of. Another set of findings indicates that some studies indicate that
people are able to accurately describe their personality, while in other studies, those
who know that person best do not agree with how that person perceived himself or
herself to be (Vazier Calson, 2010, p. 613). This can relate to real life, in that
people can believe one thing about themself, yet may be perceived an entirely
different way from the people around them. I believe this to be true in real life,
because as previously mentioned, there are possibly various actions and mannerisms
we engage in that we are not entirely

the peacock age, because sometimes the men were more elaborately dressed than
the women! Make up and hairstyles have also changed from then till now. Then,
make up was pale, and extremely white. Women wore hats and carried parasols to
escape from the light, to stay as white as possible. Those with darker, tanned skin
were generally workers, so it was important for the upper class to distinguish
themselves from the peasants. Men also used this white paste to identify
themselves from the peasants. Who knew that Queen Elizabeth set the standards
for make up in those days? Her case of smallpox, which left some blemishes, was
easily covered by the heavy white make up. This explains the absurdly pale skin in
her many portraits. Cheeks and lips were ideally red. Kohl was used to darken the

elaborate. Can you imagine sitting in a chair for 4 days with 20 hairdressers? Well,
many women spent almost that much time, because their hair was almost never
styled. In those days, people very rarely took baths, meaning their hair would last for
a long time. This may seem absolutely disgusting to us, but it was perfectly normal
Sustainability and Quality of Precast Concrete
Sustainability and Quality of Precast Concrete Precast concrete is a construction
method for casting concrete into a reusable mold. Recently, the number of buildings
and infrastructure projects constructed using precast concrete has grown
exponentially. Modern day technologies have turned precast concrete into a very
durable, sustainable, and quality controlled product. Will precast and modular building
systems be the future of sustainable, quality, and economical building methods?
Concrete is an essential material in the construction industry today. The use of
concrete can be dated back to 3000 BC during the time of the Pyramid construction.
Precast concrete is a relatively new method for the construction industry when
compared to how long the cast in place method has been around. Early forms of
precast concrete have been experimented with for hundred of years by multiple
cultures. However, modern day precast concrete evolved in 1905 in Liverpool,
England.
John Brodie who was a city engineer in Liverpool invented the process. Overtime,
the use of precast concrete has spread in all parts of the world. Precast concrete is
manufactured offsite, in a controlled environment. This helps minimize the negative
impact to the construction site while maximizing quality. Precast concrete does not
require onsite storage or staging, and is delivered to the project as needed. It is
typically erected with a crane and a relatively small crew, which allows for
construction within a

Explicit costs are opportunity costs that involve direct monetary payment by
producers. The opportunity cost of the factors of production not already owned by a
producer is the price that the producer has to pay for them. For instance, a firm
spends $100 on electrical power consumed, their opportunity cost is $100. The firm
has sacrificed $100, which could have been spent on other factors of production.
Now lets look at some real life examples from my life inorder to understand
Opportunity Costs better.
Opportunity Cost Examples that I myself have been across I have only Rs 1000 to
spend and I have two choices, I can eat at a nice restaurant or buy a good cricket bat
instead. I spend my Rs 1000 on buying the cricket bat, then the opportunity cost of
that choice is the delicious meal I did not choose and let go.
Opportunity Cost also works in regards to time. Eg I only have two hours of free
time. I could either go to a movie or meet a friend of mine. I choose to spend my
time at the movie, the opportunity cost of this decision is the time I could have spent
enjoying the company of my friend.

choice was either investing in Mutual Funds or leave the money in a Savings

The Externalities Of Taxation On Capital Gain
The externalities of taxation on capital gain have been a controversial debate among
scholars, economists and policy makers along the timeline of ever changing tax
reforms in the history of the United States. This introduction covers all the possible
externalities that change in marginal tax rate can have on investors incentives and
timing to sell, portfolio strategy, tax revenue collected by the government and the
social welfare changes.
The first thing to clarify is that there are both positive and negative externalities on
the effect of taxation on capital gain. Timing to realize the capital gain is paramount
since in the United States long term gains (typically 1 year or more) will be taxed at
a significantly lower rate than ordinary ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Since a higher tax rate leads to a lower amount of realization on capital gain, it would
consequently reduce the transaction fees or commission fees charged by the agencies,
which eventually reduces the market activity and causes a welfare loss.
The externality of a lower tax rate on the tax revenue could go either way. When
we only consider the static analysis, we have a negative externality that the tax
revenue decreases obviously since the same amount of realization is being taxed at a
lower rate. When we consider other offsetting factors, positive externalities come in
to play important roles. The first positive externality is due to the unlocking effect
that increases the amount of realization on capital gain, which therefore increases the
tax revenue. The other positive externality is that lowering the tax rate on capital
gain would result in an increase in tax revenue due to peopleing pay taxes on higher
value of their assets when realized since the value of existing stocks increases.
The two articles I m comparing in this paper, The Effects of Taxation on the Selling
of Corporate Stock and The realization of Capital Gains by Feldstein, Slemrod, and
Yitzhaki (1980) and Measuring Permanent Responses to Capital Gains Tax Changes

Essay On We Real Cool
Strong Connection in We Real Cool
As well all know, connections are not easy to come by. Connections are made for
resembling one thing to another. In addition to the resemblance, the poem, We Real

meaning of the poem. In the poem of, We Real Cool , by Gwendolyn Brooks, there is
a satisfyingly strong connection involving the poem, title, and author.
Firstly, to show the satisfyingly strong connection from Gwendolyn Brooks, is the

back in the 1960 s. Furthermore, the second and third stanza also commemorates their
life and what they did to consider themselves real cool, with the help of vivid words

2007), the keys can be installed by the key distribution center before message
routing. This type of approach creates administrative (someone to distribute the keys)
and scalability (time delay) challenges¬¬. The TESLA approach requires the
same type of process as the first, but it adds a single message authentication code
(MAC) to a request message, this creates a security issue when broadcasting the
message where the receiver can impersonate the sender. TESLA then uses one way
hash chain and clock synchronization to prevent this. The third implementation
requires each node to have a set of asymmetric key and in short requires each node to
have certain computational capability. The focus will be on TESLA implementation
assuming each commination share a MAC key, every node has one way hash chain
capability, all nodes know the authentication key of the TESLA one way key chain of
every other node, and sender trust the destination source.
Route Discovery consist of two parts: Route Request and Route Reply. Route request

Nation Of Islam In The Light Of Elijah Muhammad
Nation of Islam in the Light of Elijah Muhammad
In 1961 James Baldwin met Elijah Muhammad, the leader of the Nation of Islam
movement at the time. Baldwin s experience within the Christian Church prior to his
meeting with Elijah helped him analyze the Nation of Islam. This also allowed him
to draw parallels between the Nation of Islam movement and the Christian Church.
How James Baldwin understood the way the Christian Church worked, and a close
look at the Nation of Islam, brings to light the credibility of organized religions.
In 1930 Wallace D. Fard gave birth to the Nation of Islam movement. He began in
Detroit going door to door preaching to black families about his remedy for their
problems. He ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As for the other accounts, the lynching event did not even surface. Elijah then
moved to Detroit where he met Wallace D. Fard and developed into an adamant
supporter of Fard and the Nation of Islam. Elijah viewed Fard as a divine being and
after Fard s disappearance, Elijah set up a second temple to the Nation of Islam in
Chicago (Dodoo 1+). When James Baldwin met Elijah Muhammad and wrote Down
at the Cross , Elijah controlled the context of the Nation of Islam doctrine.
The Nation of Islam believed and followed certain ideas during the reign of Elijah
Muhammad. They pushed toward black separation from the white United States.
James Baldwin and both articles written by Peter Kihss noted that they wanted the
United States to hand over four or five southern states as reparations from slavery.
The movement s beliefs on creation stated African Americans existed seventy eight
trillion years ago, when a black God created himself from a single atom, which
formed itself from nothing. Elijah claimed, a council of twenty four black deities
ruled over the universe for the past sixty six trillion years. Twenty three existed as
Scientists and the twenty fourth as God or Allah over the others, who was created
here on earth. These Scientists determined the history of the word in advance, and
every twenty five thousand years, each God that came after the other God made a
new civilization. His
Paleo-Indian Period
The history of American Indians before European contact is broadly divided into
three major periods: the Paleo Indian period, the Archaic period (8000 1000 b.c.),
and the Woodland period (1000 b.c. 1600 a.d.). (DiNome) There is little known
information about the Paleo Indian period; however, the Paleo Indians are
believed to be some of the first American Indians, not only in Florida, but in all of
America. The Paleo Indians were believed to be nomads who fought and hunted
with stone tools and clubs. During the Archaic period American Indians began to
become more civilized. It was in the Archaic period that the American Indians began
to establish a system of trading among their people. During this time the Indians
also started developing migration routes to bring other Indians down to Florida
from the Carolinas. Similarly to the Indians in the Paleo time period, the Indians in
the Archaic period used stone tools for hunting and fighting, but they also began to
utilize the use of bone tools during this time period. Another skill that the Indians
started becoming more familiar with during this time period was basketry. The last
period that we see in pre contact Native American life is the Woodland period. It is
called the Woodland period because during this time is when the Native Americans
began farming. We see during this time the Indian settlements had begun moving
closer to streams of water and rivers, because that is where the soil was good for

The Impact of Dean on Sal s Identity in On the Road
On The Road begins with the protagonist, Sal, (representative of author Jack
Kerouac), being overwhelmed by feelings of confusion and uncertainty regarding his
personal identity. He then meets Dean Moriarty , an eccentric character who rejects
societal values and norms . Sal is absorbed with and entranced by Dean, perceiving
him as almost superhuman , and decides to follow him across the country. A passive
character, Sal soon becomes dependent on Dean, mimicking his friend rather than
discovering his personal identity. It is likely that such behaviour was greatly
influenced by events that occurred in Jack Kerouac s childhood . Eventually, Sal
realises that if he is to be independent, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Then Sal meets Dean; a wild, roguish character, and is so enchanted by him that he
believes he can shape his own identity through being like Dean. Hence, Sal takes to
the road, planning to follow in Dean s footsteps.
Gradually, Sal becomes more and more dependent on Dean. He shapes his morals
and values upon those of Dean, letting his life be controlled by the decisions that
Dean makes, and even refusing to allow himself thoughts that contradict Dean s.
The impact Dean has on Sal s identity is clearly illustrated in Chapter Seven, when,
after Sal and Dean have been staying with their friend Old Bull Lee , Dean is ready
to leave so Sal takes off with him despite his own desire to stay. He has reached a
point where he is unable to make his own decisions, and must blindly follow Dean.
His dependence on Dean has isolated him from his own feelings and thoughts, and he
has compromised his own independence and power to make decisions.
In Chapter Eight of Part Two, Dean steals gas and oil as Sal runs into the station
and takes bread and cheese while the owners are eating dinner. This act is a direct
contradiction of the values that Sal expressed earlier in the novel, when Montana
Slim asked him to steal from strangers in alley ways, and Sal refused. Such behaviour
is a further illustration of the tremendous impact that Dean has on Sal s identity, and
demonstrates just how malleable Sal s personality at this point is.
Finally, in Chapter Ten of Part

Essay On Going To College.pdf

  • 1. Essay On Going To College Writing an essay on the topic of going to college can be both challenging and rewarding. On one hand, it's a subject that holds immense personal significance for many individuals, as it marks a pivotal moment in their lives. On the other hand, the breadth of this topic can make it difficult to navigate and capture all the essential aspects. Firstly, delving into the personal aspect requires introspection and the ability to articulate one's thoughts and experiences coherently. Narrating the journey towards deciding on college, the challenges faced, and the aspirations for the future demands a careful balance of self-reflection and objectivity. It's not just about sharing personal anecdotes but also weaving them into a broader narrative that resonates with a diverse audience. Additionally, addressing the broader societal context of going to college involves extensive research. Understanding the current state of higher education, the evolving job market, and the societal expectations surrounding college attendance is crucial. This demands time and effort to sift through a plethora of information, discerning the relevant from the extraneous, and synthesizing it into a cohesive argument. Crafting a compelling thesis that encapsulates the essence of the essay is another hurdle. It requires a nuanced understanding of the subject matter and the ability to present a unique perspective that adds value to the existing discourse. Expressing one's thoughts with clarity and precision is essential to engage the reader and convey the intended message effectively. Moreover, maintaining a logical flow throughout the essay is a challenge. Transitioning smoothly from one idea to the next, ensuring a seamless connection between paragraphs, and avoiding repetition require careful editing and revision. Striking a balance between depth and conciseness is essential to keep the reader engaged without overwhelming them with information. In conclusion, while writing an essay on going to college presents its challenges, it is also an opportunity for personal growth and exploration. It demands a combination of introspection, research, and effective communication skills. Successfully navigating these challenges can result in a compelling essay that not only showcases the author's unique perspective but also contributes meaningfully to the broader conversation surrounding this significant life decision. Photographs, numbers, words and colours and how they are positioned in a small scale delivers valuable messages to the reader . To analyse the stamps, Child discusses Peirce three part typology The Trichotomy of Signs , Index, Icon and symbol in which all three can work individually and blend together to deliver a symbolic meaning to the reader. Both stamps presented above are unique in delivering information about Australia; they are also part of a commemorative series of stamps, which follow the same/similar positioning of index, icon and symbol. • 3. Write An Essay On The High Roller Coasters I buckle my seatbelt and pull down the orange safety harness, my stomach starts to get butterflies. The workers who look like they are still in high school have our lives in their hands. They go down the line dragging, as if they are sleepwalking. The thumbs up is given to the booth, the green circle button is held down for us to start creeping past the gate. Click click click, click click, click! We start to climb up in the sky on the Renegade at Valleyfair. It is then that my heart starts to pound. I start to doubt that this wooden roller coasteris going to hold us. We are so high up we can see almost all the rides and attractions. I find the entrance of The High Roller, a coaster I was trying to find earlier. We reach the top of the almost hundred foot tall peak, my stomach is in my mouth, I can t see the bottom of the drop.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... At the last second I force my hands in the air, a huge smile comes to my face as we dip down, after what seems like eternity, we finally hit the bottom and the car really starts to gain speed, everything starts to seem like a big blur. We go over what looks to be a small bunny hop, but there is so much speed I am literally floating in my seat. My bottom returns to it s place when we make a quick turn to the left and back to the right. • 4. Complexity Theory And Leadership Theory Complexity theory and Leadership There are many theories when it comes to leadership. Many of these date back hundreds of years to military styles of leadership. The 1990 s saw the emergence of a new theory in terms of leadership, Complexity Theory, which has since developed further and has been implemented in some of the most successful companies in the world. What is complexity theory? Computational modelling has become ever popular in industries that require prediction of outcomes, by developing complex algorithms that attempt to predict the outcome of certain complex actions. There are a variety of inputs that can drastically change the output of the model. A similar model can be applied to human interaction, with an infinite number ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Complexity theory is the understanding of the processes by which positive innovation and change occurs. How does it vary from traditional leadership methods Each organisation begins out of innovation, someone has an idea and that idea becomes the organisation. This is the Entrepreneurial System, and is responsible for innovation and creativity (Goldstein, et al., 2009). Once the organisation is functioning, the Administrative System begins to take over, accounting for improvements in bureaucracy, efficiency and order. The trade off for efficiency and order is to stifle the creative and innovative change that can lead to chaos (Hazy, 2006). Traditional leadership styles dictate that when there is chaos, that order should be restored, and often followers or employees search for order in times of chaos. However, in applying total order to chaos, creativity and innovation are eliminated by application of a hierarchal authoritarian system (Goldstein, et al., 2009). Instead of oppressing creativity and innovation through order, complexity theory embraces small amounts of chaos implementing minimal changes, encouraging followers to perform their duties in a creative manner. It is important that the levels of chaos do not lead to followers being unable to perform their duties; however, acceptable levels of chaos should be embraced, allowing freedom of thought and interaction between followers (Van de Van, et al., 1999). How is Complexity

  • 7. An Analysis Of John Donne s Holy Sonnet 2 John Donne s Holy Sonnet 2 is primarily written in the traditional Petrarchan sonnet form. One way in which Donne applies this traditional form is through the use of an octave, in which the narrator establishes a problem that causes anxiety and personal turmoil. The octave is then followed by a sestet, where the narrator attempts to organise and present a solution to the issue given in the octave, or there is a change of tone in the narrator s voice. Wisheth that still he might be imprisoned; / Yet grace... Although there is a change in tone with the narrative voice, Donne s use of punctuation and enjambment between lines eight and nine suggests that Donne does not rigorously adhere to the traditional Petrarchan form. As the poem becomes detached from this tradition and increases the narrator s conflict and feeling of entrapment and suppression. This, in turn, might indicate that the narrator has no solution for his black soul and reflects the narrator s anxiety and fear about not being able to repent, or, at least, not being able to repent the way in which would correspond to the narrator s personal religious beliefs. Anne Coles Kimberly argues that the Calvinist doctrine held that man is resistant to God (due to sin), but that God will draw his elect to him. Donne, however, is not

South Korea s Historical Struggle With Tyrannical Rule Essay AbstractConsidering South Korea s historical struggle with tyrannical rule, the nation has become quite a democratic force, mirroring its European and American counterparts. Being a country that caters to different values, cultures, and social structures, there are some considerable differences of their Criminal Justice System, specifically their criminal procedures, policing, and prison populations. However, due to their adaption of Western legal traditions there are similar marks within South Koreas laws and constitution. Introduction In the face of the initial plan of a unified Korea in the 1943 Cairo Declaration, intensifying Cold War resentment between the Soviet Union and the United States, as well as tensions within Korea with the Korean War, eventually led to the establishment of separate governments, each with its own system, and to the division of Korea into two political entities in 1948: North Korea and South Korea (Gohar, 1988). • 16. Association between Air Polluiton and Lung Cancer Many epidemiologic studies have found an association between ambient air pollution and lung cancer. This evidence lead the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) to report air pollution as a category 1 or definite cause of cancer. The IARC reviewed over 1000 studies from five continents and covering many different scientific fields. They concluded that air pollutionis linked to increased cancer incidence, with lung cancerbeing the most prevalent (Pope, 2013). Air pollution occurs when the air is contaminated by foreign substances. These substances can be liquid or solid and they are small enough that they remain suspended in the air. Some of the substances can be toxic chemicals which can include sulphur dioxide (SO2), oxides of nitrogen (NOx), ozone (O3), volatile organic compounds and suspended particulate matter (PM). When talking about air pollution we categorize the particles with the term particulate matter (PM). Suspended particulate matter (PM) is divided into three groups based on the diameter of the particle. PM2.5 refers to particles with a diameter less that 2.5 micrometers (Вµm), PM10 classifies particles with a diameter between 2.5 and 10 Вµm, and PM10 defines particles with a diameter greater than 10 Вµm. The relative risk of developing cancer as a result of exposure to air pollution is generally small, but the attributable risk (relative risk multiplied by the number of exposed people) is high. Because exposure is so high ambient air pollution

This section consists of the following analysis: comparison of the run time pattern in three times execution, comparison of the overall run time using an arithmetic mean approach and error analysis. Run Time Pattern in Three Executions MySQL (non cluster) had a stable pattern within three executions, while Hadoop did not. According to my investigation, it caused by the following reason: I executed MySQL (non cluster) through SSH window, whereas Hadoop was executed through Ambari client browser. The connection through SSH did not use Internet public network, while client browser used it. In other words, the public Internet network only affected client browser. As a public Internet network used by other people as well, the speed of the network was depending on the high/low network traffic. The traffic of public network was unpredictable: some users might do heavy activities at one time, and few seconds later the users did not do anything. Hence, the instability of public Internet speed caused the instability of the total time taken of Hadoop s activities. MySQL (non

I analyzed a scene from the television show Trailer Park Boys in which a three member family interact using the concepts of crossing, facework, and footing, in order to answer my research question. I found that the central character uses crossing as a method of performing facework. As a result of this, he also indicates preference and dispreference to his family members. Theoretical Framework Crossing involves someone speaking in another language, dialect, or pattern which feels distinctly other (Rampton, 2000, p. 54). This can occur in a wide variety of contexts such as first generation Americans using English in a non English household in order to embrace one cultural system over another. Or, using a different pattern of speech around a significant other s parents in order to convey positive social values. In the case of the scene I analyzed, the central character s language is already crossed as he is a white man speaking almost exclusively African American Vernacular English (AAVE). He further uses crossing to interact with his Hispanic girlfriend. As a character, his crossed language is one of his most defining qualities, making him an interesting case study. Because of the character s use of AAVE as a white man, he can be juxtaposed with Mike , the person of interest in a study of white teens and AAVE adoption (Cutler, 1999). Mike, like Jamie, the main

Although we haven t yet found any way to directly observe either dark matter or dark energy, scientists have been able to see it s effects and confirm the existence of these abstract forces. First of all, dark energy and dark matter are not as similar as you may think. They both are extremely difficult if not impossible to detect and very little is known about either but the similarities end there. Essentially, it is the undetectable matter that influences the gravity of galaxies and the way we perceive light from distant galaxies. This gravitational effect is the only way we know that dark matter is there. This is because without a considerable amount of matter in addition to the regular matter in the universe, large galaxies would not be able to the forces of gravity and makes up more of the universe than dark matter and regular matter combined (about 68% of the universe) One theory on this is the possibility that the expansion of the universe is just a property of empty space . This theory has to do with the fact that empty space is not empty and may have its own form of energy that makes galaxies continually spread out. A similar theory suggests that the universe s expansion is due to the virtual particles popping in and out of existence in an incredibly short amount of time. This theory suggests that these particles give off a small amount of energy that could expand the universe. Another theory claims that dark energy is an energetic fluid that fills empty space and expands all of space. In conclusion, Dark matter and dark energy cannot be observed but affect our universe in strange ways, and even though we know there effects are still quite a mystery scientists

Because we fear aging so much, scientists have found ways to lift wrinkles from one s face, replace bones with metal, and put pigment into silver and grey hair. The human race has become so obsessed with staying young, that aging is looked upon as something that should be reversed. In T.S. Eliot s, The Lovesong of J. This man has become so lost in societal pressures, that he sees nothing but gloom with the upcoming years. The racial hierarchy of Cuba is a color spectrum with many categories and subcategories ranging from azul or blue black to rubio or blonde (Roland 34). Echoing colonial precedence, the lighter of the skin tones in this spectrum represent the upper class and are viewed as more desirable. Holding this standard above the people of Cuba resulted in disparity based upon where someone fell on this color scale. As Roland, an African Americanwoman, wrote, People who did not immediately recognize me as a foreigner assumed I was around foreigners because I was a jinetera a female hustler or prostitute (54). At the start of the novel, Roland describes an instance when this assumption affected her in a social situation. Within the first day of arriving in Cuba, Roland went out to a bar with her fellow students and was repeatedly given a watered down drink. After voicing her discontent, one of their companions (who was a local) told her that the bartender had most likely assumed that she was a prostitute since she was the only dark skinned woman among the group (Roland 1). Roland finds repeated instances that mirror her own experience of outside influences fabricating her identity and image. In an attempt to escape the mistreatment and marginalization in Cuba many people go to measures like prostitution or hustling, jinetera/os or luchadores (these terms can be used

The Holy Spirit Intercession In The United States The Spirit Intercedes for Us Romans 8:26 27 gives one of the roles the Spirit plays in the life of believers; and, that is in the area of intercession. Intercession can be defined as an act of intervening or mediating between differing parties, particularly the act of praying to God on behalf of another person . There are a number of instances in the Old Testament where the act of intercession is found. Whereas these were literal events, they also pictured the intercessory role that the Holy Spirit would have towards the believers in the New Testament. Recently, the number of buildings and infrastructure projects constructed using precast concrete has grown exponentially. Modern day technologies have turned precast concrete into a very durable, sustainable, and quality controlled product. Will precast and modular building systems be the future of sustainable, quality, and economical building methods? Concrete is an essential material in the construction industry today. The use of concrete can be dated back to 3000 BC during the time of the Pyramid construction. Precast concrete is a relatively new method for the construction industry when compared to how long the cast in place method has been around. Early forms of precast concrete have been experimented with for hundred of years by multiple cultures. However, modern day precast concrete evolved in 1905 in Liverpool, England. John Brodie who was a city engineer in Liverpool invented the process. Overtime, the use of precast concrete has spread in all parts of the world. Precast concrete is manufactured offsite, in a controlled environment. This helps minimize the negative impact to the construction site while maximizing quality. Precast concrete does not require onsite storage or staging, and is delivered to the project as needed. The externality of a lower tax rate on the tax revenue could go either way. When we only consider the static analysis, we have a negative externality that the tax revenue decreases obviously since the same amount of realization is being taxed at a lower rate. When we consider other offsetting factors, positive externalities come in to play important roles. The first positive externality is due to the unlocking effect that increases the amount of realization on capital gain, which therefore increases the tax revenue. Ad hoc network can be easily set up due to the fact it doesn t require a centralized administrator and doesn t require a fixed network infrastructure (base station/ access point). With the creation of Ad hoc networks came the problem of secure routing protocols for this type of network. Ariadne is one the secure routing protocol which was created to improve ad hoc networking security. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Ariadne can be implemented in three ways to authenticate routing messages: sharing of secret keys between all pair of nodes, TESLA (broadcasting authentication) with sharing of secret keys, and digital signatures. Sharing secret keys between nodes requires n (n 1)/2 keys to be established in the network (Anjum, 2007), the keys can be installed by the key distribution center before message routing. This type of approach creates administrative (someone to distribute the keys) and scalability (time delay) challenges¬¬. The TESLA approach requires the same type of process as the first, but it adds a single message authentication code (MAC) to a request message, this creates a security issue when broadcasting the message where the receiver can impersonate the sender. TESLA then uses one way hash chain and clock synchronization to prevent this. The third implementation requires each node to have a set of asymmetric key and in short requires each node to have certain computational capability. The focus will be on TESLA implementation assuming each commination share a MAC key, every node has one way hash chain capability, all nodes know the authentication key of the TESLA one way key chain of every other node, and sender trust the destination source.
