How To Write A Outline For A Essay
Writing an essay on the topic "How To Write an Outline for an Essay" may seem deceptively
simple at first glance, as the subject matter appears to be self-referential. However, delving into
the intricacies of creating a comprehensive and effective outline reveals a level of complexity
that demands careful consideration.
Firstly, one must grapple with the challenge of explaining the importance of an essay outline
without making it sound like a mundane, routine task. It requires the author to strike a balance
between emphasizing the role of an outline in organizing thoughts and arguments, and avoiding
a presentation that comes across as overly didactic or prescriptive.
Addressing the varied needs of different types of essays adds another layer of difficulty. The
process of outlining may differ significantly when preparing to write a persuasive essay
compared to an analytical or expository piece. The essay must navigate these nuances to provide
a nuanced guide that accommodates various essay types.
Furthermore, the essay must delve into the psychology of effective outlining. Discussing how an
outline serves as a roadmap for the writer may require an exploration of individual writing styles
and preferences. It involves acknowledging the challenge of finding a universal approach while
recognizing that every writer has their unique method.
Navigating the balance between brevity and comprehensiveness poses an additional challenge.
The essay must be concise enough to avoid overwhelming the reader with information, yet
thorough enough to provide practical insights and tips that can be readily applied.
In conclusion, writing an essay on the seemingly straightforward topic of "How To Write an
Outline for an Essay" reveals layers of complexity that demand thoughtful exploration. The
challenge lies not only in explaining the technical aspects of creating an outline but also in
addressing the psychological and stylistic dimensions that influence the outlining process.

H R Block Performance Management Best Practices
H R Block Performance Management Best Practices
During the time that I spent in labor force I was able to work with numerous of
people in various fields of work. When I first read this assignment, I knew exactly
who I wanted to interview. Indeed, out of all the people I ve worked alongside with,
none made an impression on me quite as much as my former manager Maria from H
R Block. Her commitment, friendliness and work ethic were nothing short of
extraordinary. She was the first and only thought that came into my mind when I
thought of who to interview for this assignment.
The first question I asked Maria had to deal with her duration at H R Block. Indeed,
she had been with the company for ten years and had become the manager of the ...

She was so well liked that clients would come from cities 100 miles away just to get
their returns prepared by Maria.
Despite the fact that H R Block is the biggest tax firm in the world, it still has many
venues for growth. In my interview with Maria, she mentioned to me that many
people are off put by H R Block due to the high prices. Other tax preparation firms
charge anywhere from $50 $300 for a return while H R Block charges range from
$50 $700 returns. This staggering price range is the reason why many people will
risk doing their taxes with smaller and less organized firms rather than H R Block.
The reason why H R Block sets their price so high is because it backs each return
with audit protection and demands that the preparer checks every return carefully
before being sent to the IRS. Maria claimed that if more customers knew about the
unparalleled quality of H R Block s guarantees, as well as the danger and stress of
an IRS audit, many more people would do their returns at H R Block instead of at
a cheap and risky unofficial stores . In order to solve this issue, Maria told me that
she was trying to emphasize the company s guarantees to the marketing team so
they could make commercials and brochures advertising this fact of H R Block.
Americans need to consider the face that H R Block is the largest tax preparation
firm in the country. However, as Maria puts it: There is always room for

In addition, buying only organic and fair trade foods and products is a great way to
create demand for these products. When many people combine together to create

be forced to change their ways to prevent going out of business. This is good for
some of the corporate food industry giants that harm people and animals alike.

Uses Of Quantification In Swift-SwiftBy William Swift
1.Swift wants the reader to view the speaker as a compassionate, reasonable
individual with a clear view regarding the concern of the numerous Irish lives
populating the community, crowding the streets ... with beggars of the female sex,
followed by three, four, or six children... (Swift 1). In contrast, the persona he adopts
is cold and merciless, which is evident through the depersonalizing diction in which
he refers to the wives of couples as breeders (Swift 7). 2.Dehumanization is used to
emphasize the wasted energy and costs associated with raising children in an overly
populated environment that is devastating to many, proposing that rather than ...
being a change upon their parents... they shall on the contrary contribute to the
feeding, and partly to the clothing, of many thousands (Swift 5). The number of
souls in this kingdom being usually reckoned one million and a half... there may be
about two hundred thousand couple whose wives are breeders... although I
apprehend there cannot be so many, under the present distresses of the kingdom
(Swift 7) is an example of quantification as it expresses the countless Irish lives and
how this large community is subjected to the desensitizing gaze of society. 3.In
deploying this rhetorical strategy, it enables Swift to persuade his audience that his
proposal will yield effective outcomes, forcing them to feel obligated to support his
initiative. Furthermore, he also draws on the audience s values of limiting the rights

Agape Worship Center Mission Statement
The purpose of the Agape Worship Center International is to present the gospel to the
world through Love, Acceptance and Forgiveness. At Agape Worship Center there are
five distinctive core values that are established throughout Church of God
congregation: Engaging God through worship, equipping Leaders for ministry,
evangelizing our city community and the world,
Empowering people for service unto God, embracing one another in love through
fellowship and Life Groups. Agape Worship Center has a multi ethnic, multi racial
background. Our church mission statement is mirror image of our church core
values; AWCI is spirit filled ministry, a place where the people are living with
overflowing anointing, are divinely enabled to operate beyond their capacity,
beyond their strength, and beyond their vision of the future. AWCI is strategically
breaking into the marketplace, the place where we live and work, and around the
world in an effort to expand the kingdom of God for His glory. The distinct core
values were created by a group of about 8 individuals, who were the original
founders of Agape Worship Center International, established in 2006. The members
consisted of persons ranging from 30 60 years of age. In 2002, Bishop Collins held
church services from his home. In 2005 membership rocketed to 12 members, the
growth encouraged the building process for what is now known as the church sitting
on the hill, AWCI. The church s history and present ministry were taken into
consideration regarding the move to create a more effective ministry.
Conflict Between Science And Religion Are Compatible
This debate between whether science and religion are compatible has been going
on for decades. Science and religion conflict with each other for many things, such
as for how the universe began. People have mixed views on the topic. Some people
think there s too much conflict for them to be compatible, whilst others think they
can be in harmony. This is quite a polemical theme and that s why in this essay I m
going to clarify how far I agree with the following statement: There is too much
conflict between scienceand religionfor them to be compatible, by presenting all
sides of the argument. The first view is that science and religion contradict too much
to a certain extent that both cannot be viable. Let s take as our first example the...

feel compassion, respect others... It teaches us moral lessons, leading to a good

Inexperience In Mary Shelley s Frankenstein
Mary Shelley s Frankenstein is considered one of the greatest works of gothic
literature. Frankenstein, or the Modern Prometheus, tells the story of an ambitious
young scientist named Victor Frankenstein. During his time at university, Dr.
Frankenstein decides to take on a daring project, attempting to create life. After
spending months laboring, he finally achieves his goal, but realizes that he has made
a grave mistake. Throughout the rest of the story, Frankensteins monster terrorizes
and murders the rest of Victor s friends and family until he is left alone in world.
Mary Shelley was 19 years old when she wrote this novel. Though it is, to this day,
still considered to be one of the greatest works of gothic literature of all time, there...

Choice of language is one of the many ways one character can be distinguished
from another. If all the novel s characters speak in the same manner, there won t be
many ways to tell them apart. The way a person speaks can give insight on their
personality, upbringing and, even something as simple as age. Shelley s
characters all seem to speak with the same manner of speech. They all sound like
they are from upper class families. It s hard to distinguish one from the other
without indicators. The perfect example in this is found with Frankenstein s
monster. He learned to speak from books and listening to the people who lived in
the cottage he hid behind. This family would certainly would not have spoken in
the same fashion the Frankenstein family did. Yet, when the monster speaks he
sounds like Victor Frankenstein, an upper class gentleman. You also find this
issue with William Frankenstein, Victor s younger brother. William is supposed to
be six years old. His speech, however, is that of someone three times his age.
William Frankenstein talks like everyone else in the book. Thus, it s hard to
imagine him as a child. This is what makes novels so unique and a character s
speech so important. The only image the reader has of these people is that which is
created in their minds. When a young boy talks like a man, it s hard to see him as a
young boy. The image is distorted. Authors who have been writing for a long time
know this and try to match their writing to their character s personality to provide a
clearer characterization for their
Nasolacteristic Surgical Procedures
Tears drain through small openings in the corners of the lower and upper eyelids
called puncta and enter the nose through the nasolacrimal duct. An obstruction in
the duct blocks the normal flow of tears and causes a backflow in the eye.
Blockage of the drainage system causes tears to well up on the surface of the eyes
and overflow on the eyelashes, eyelids, and down the cheek. In such condition,
eyelids can become red swollen and sometimes even stuck together. The severity of
such signs may vary under different conditions such as respiratory illness or outdoor
exposure to wind and dust. The treatment procedure depends on the reasons of the
blockage of tear ducts. It requires more than one approach to receive the proper
treatment. The reasons may be a tumor or infection and the treatment differs
accordingly.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
DCR (Dacryocystorhinostomy) is the surgical procedure used for the treatment of
duct obstruction. This surgical procedure eliminates the fluid and mucus retention in
the lacrimal sac. It releases the tear drainage and relieves the epiphora. The DCR
procedure involves the removal of the bone adjacent to the lacrimal sac and
incorporating the lacrimal sac with the lateral nasal mucosa to bypass the
nasolacrimal duct obstruction. It allows tears to directly drain into the nasal cavity
from the canaliculi through a low resistance
Gender and Sexuality in Culture
Diversity or rather, the lack of understanding diversity may be one of the most
prevalent issues in the world today. Though the World Wide Web has bridged the
cultural gap some, it will never fully or accurately reveal the truth simply because it is
difficult to fully understand cultural meanings from an outsider s perspective. Before
the internet, careers in anthropology and similar fields made information available
through ethnographic readings and studies. A key inquiry anthropologists seek to
answer is the distinction between and role of sex, gender, and sexuality within each
separate culture. Y The Last Manand other ethnographic texts connect culture, its

A more specific type of cultural oppression is what Amazons feel that men have over
women.
Amazons portrayed in Y are an extremist group of women who believe that the men
died for a reason, and they intend to embrace the new freedom and control given to
them by Mother Earth (Vaughan, 96). Subjugation that these women felt from their
male counterpart was apparently detrimental to their lives. In The Sworn Virgins of
Albania , women decide to take on a male status for various reasons such as
protection, avoiding an arranged marriage, and keeping the family name (Young,
253). With all men extinct, the sworn virgins would have no need to exist. According
to Different Words, Different Worlds , men s authority over women is seen through
chivalrous acts such as opening a door. What they believe is in fact happening is that
the man gives the woman permission to walk first, but he can easily take that consent
away just the same, thus confirming he has the control (Tannen, 231). Language is
another tool used to control and belittle.
Language is only fully understood within the context of its culture. After the
Amazon leader is called a cunt by a rebelling girl, she explains there is no longer
offense in the word since the men made society see it in a negative light and
disregard its ancient historical meaning of all powerful (Vaughan, 112). In the movie

Descriptive Essay About Snow White
Snow White. Casper. Why do these characters sound familiar to me? Well, these
have been the nicknames I have acquired through the years. I describe myself as
bright white. I never realized how white I was until people felt the dire need to tell
me. As a young child, I never really thought it was a super colossal deal either. But
as we age, we learn new things that perhaps we did not recognize before. People say
that some things in life, you just never forget. This indeed is very true. Words can
scar. Several summers ago I was at a friend s house playing volleyball with a few
people. Does it bother you that you are so white? asked a girl who I did not even
know. I dropped the ball and stared at her with a blank expression. All that was
running through my mindwas, Does it bother you that you are so obnoxious?
But of course this thought was not vocalized. I simply kept playing volleyball. But
soon after I established questions. Does it bother me? Should it bother me? I went
home that day and glared at myself in the mirror. Then it struck me, I was whiter
than most people were. This one stranger s comment made me question myself. I
began to over analyze and as time passed by my self esteem plummeted. I thought
that maybe if I had been born with sun kissed skin, my family and friends would not
judge me. Then, I began wearing makeup to not look as sickly as people made me
out to be. I developed a sudden yearning to go down to the shore all the time to try
to get some type of color.
But then one day, I studied my mom s face. Her smooth, glowing, and porcelain
skin made me wonder. I was curious as how a woman at her age could look ten
years younger. My mom shared the specific ingredient to maintaining beautiful
skin. She explained that staying out of the sun was the key to wrinkle free skin as
an adult. Hundreds of thoughts ran through my mind. She also stated that as a
teenager, she experienced all the same reactions. In fact, one crude person asked if
she had lived in a bomb shelter, meaning that it looked as if she never saw the sun.
The irony of it all was that these people with the so called society accepted
complexions who told me to lay in the sun, actually had imperfections on their skin

Base on the Confession of Faith in The Book of Discipline, in article II We believe
in Jesus Christ, truly God and truly man, in whom the divine and human natures
are perfectly and inseparably united. He is the eternal Word made flesh, the only
begotten Son of the Father, born of the Virgin Mary by the power of the Holy
Spirit. As ministering servant he lived, suffered and died on the cross. He was
buried, rose from the dead and ascended into heaven to be with the Father, from
whence he shall return. He is eternal Savior and Mediator, who intercedes for us,

the Anglican Church and the Church of England. Methodist doctrine states that
Jesus was the Son of God, the child of the Virgin Mary and the Holy Spirit, truly

modern Christians teaching, they also believe that with grace from God will allow
them to get to heaven, not by electing process but by observing good deeds.

The Perceptible Propaganda in the film Triumph of the Will (Triumph des Willens)
JS 233: The Holocaust and Film
Prof. James Diamond

The film Triumph of the Will was created in 1934 after Hitler was named Fuhrer of
Germany. At the time, Hitler was eager to improve the public image of the NSDP
(National Socialist German Workers Party). After his election as chancellor in Early
January 1933, Hitler gave Leni Riefenstahl the job of filming the annual NSDAP
conference in Nuremberg, Germany . Riefenstahl accepted the offer and agreed
document, direct and edit the Conference. As years pasted, the infamous
documentary began to be speculated as possible Nazi Propaganda.
Although presumptions began to arise, Riefenstahl stated that Triumph of the Will
was clearly a factual documentary and stated: Not a single scene is staged...It is
history, pure history and that she simply filmed what she saw. Susan Sontag s
response in her dissertation Fascinating Fascism concluded that the film is fascist
propaganda promoting Nazi ideology but itself is not a about fascism . Sontag was
right to the title the film was fascist due to Riefenstahl s extreme forthright about her
infatuation with Hitler. In an interview with Detroit news Riefenstahl stated: To me
Hitler is the greatest man who ever lived. He is really faultless, so simple yet so
filled with ,manly power... He is really beautiful,

Jorge Luis Borges Irony
The writing styles of Edgar Allen Poe and Jorge Luis Borges are very in sync when
it comes to literary devices such as irony, imagery, setting and so on. In many of
their stories, the authors demonstrate their extraordinary technique through the short
story The Purloined Letter written by Poe and The Garden of Forking Paths written
by Borges. Piquing the readers mind and causing a sensation of awe at the end their
story, they entice the reader to experience a whole new world of literature, forcing
the reader to scrutinize the text in a manner, in which a pedestrian reader would find
complex. These authors are one when it comes to painting an imagine , however

Law and Order in London in Late Nineteenth Century
The British police force came to being in the late eighteenth century. By 1800 there
were only 2 police forces in the whole of Britain, both of which were in London.
One was the Bow street runners, which was set up in 1749 and the other, was the
Thames River police force, which by then was only 2 years old. The main turning
point for policing as far as London is concerned came in 1829 when Sir Robert Peel
, the home secretary of the time, created and set up a new police force, the
metropolitan Police force.
The metropolitan police force was set up to carry out all the jobs that the watchmen

Each division was in charge of the area that was assigned to them and then sometimes
for big cases other divisions under the met would join up and work together.
There were many things that were expected of people who took on the job and
responsibilities of a metropolitan police officer. The ideal recruit would be
someone who was under 35 but over 20, well built, at least five foot seven, literate
and of good character, but of course not all recruits were like this and in the
beginning a lot of recruits had to be dismissed. The most common reason for being
dismissed would be drunkenness.
At the beginning the police were not really there to solve the crimes, only to prevent
them from happening. But gradually this changed and by 1842 the first detectives
were introduced. Now as well as trying to prevent crime, they also tried to solve it.
Although some work had to be put into it before the detectives were successful. As
they didn t have the technology advances for policing that we have today and the
main way to catch a criminal was to catch them in the act or to have a confession
from the criminals themselves.
The police had to deal with many different types of crime in the late nineteenth
century ranging from minor crimes such as pick pocketing, drunkeness and
prostitution to more major crimes such as
Differentiating Between Market Structures Essay
Differentiating between Market Structures
The structure of a market is defined by the number of firms in the market, the
existence or otherwise of barriers to entry of new firms, and the interdependence
among firms in determining pricing and output to maximize profits. The author of
this paper will cover: the advantages and limitation of supply and demand identified
in the simulation, the effectiveness of the organization in which the author knows,
and how the organizations in each market structure maximizes profits.

The Forest Product Division operates in the monopolistic competition market
structure. A firm operating in monopolistic competition faces a downward sloping
demand curve (University of Phoenix, 2008).
The effectiveness of Staples
Staples operates in the monopolistic competition. Staples carries many different
brands and items within the store. Staples, unlike many monopolistic competition
companies are concerned about what the major local competition is doing with their
prices. Staples hires an outside company to check the different prices on items that
they all carry alike, and then they decide to adjust their price accordingly to the
research. Since Staples operates in the monopolistic competition, the demand curve
faces in a downward slope. The downward sloping demand curve means that in
making decisions about output, the monopolistic competitor will use a marginal
revenue curve that is below price. At its profit maximizing output, marginal cost will

The Bill T. Jones
On Saturday, October 10, 2015 Bill T. Jones featuring the Bill T. Jones / Arnie Zane
Dance Company performed at the Richard and Karen Carpenter Performing Arts
Center in Long Beach, California. The title of the piece was Story / Time and
portrayed Mr. Jones sitting at a desk center stage throughout the show narrating
personal stories as the nine dancers danced on the stage around him. The Bill T.
Jones / Arnie Zane DanceCompany was founded in 1983 by Bill T. Jones and Arnie

venues across the world. While their performances have ranged over a wide array of

The theatrical decision to remind the audience that the person next to them is
measuring time differently than they are, was a very smart decision because it
added an extra level of interpretation of the piece. At the end of this experiment, Mr.
Jones then reminded the audience that there was a total of 70 minutes of
performance. When the show actually began, it started with a digital green timer
on the wall counting by the second, accompanied by Mr. Jones sitting at a desk
with a desk lamp. He began to read a story as a single dancer in a pink long sleeved
top danced beside him. This dancer was definitely the most memorable mover of the
company due to her exquisite fluidity within her movement, as well as the desirable
synchronization between her movements and the words of Mr. Jones s voice
throughout the piece. As the performance carried on, the other dancers performed
various solos, duets, and quartets, of modern movement while Mr. Jones s stories
carried on.
There were moments where it was easy to interpret Mr. Jones s stories and see the
correlation between the story and the movement, but there were also moments when
it was easy to get lost in the movement and forget the story was even taking place.
Although it could be frustrating at times to suddenly realize the story had not
registered due to the captivation of the dancers, it was still nice to watch the dancers
perform to spoken word. There is a lot of power in words, not only in what
Advantages Of Gap Year
I am convinced that one s college education is greatly enhanced by the maturity,
experience, and perspective a student can bring post gap year. (Fred A. Hardon). A
gap year is a period, usually, one academic year, taken by a student as a break
between secondary school and higher education. The gap year as we know it started
gaining attraction in the US in the 1960s. During their gap year, students usually
travel and experience other cultures, gain work experience, learn other languages, and
volunteer. Initially, taking a gap year has not always been socially acceptable in the
US, however, it was much more acceptable in many European countries as well as
Australia. In more recent years, however, the percentage of students putting their
higher educationon hold to pursue learning outside of the academic field has been
increasing steadily. Although the percentage of students who are taking a gap year is
steadily increasing, in comparison to other countries we are very much behind.
According to the Gap Year Association, many students in other countries wait a year
or more after high school before attending college. For instance, more than 50 percent
of students In Norway, Denmark and Turkey take a gap year before going to college,
and that is according to the Nordic Institute for Studies in Innovation, Research, and
Educationin Oslo, Norway. Gap year better prepares students for college and
adulthood in general. Because the majority of students spend their gap year by
My Childhood Memories Of My Family
I was born and raised in a peaceful and friendly part of Bridgeport, Connecticut, on
the North End, right in the corner between Trumbull and Fairfield. My family
dynamic has changed a bit in the past three years. I ve lived with my mom, my
maternal grandmother, and my older brother for as long as I could remember. My
dad was just a phone call every other day, but since my grandmother died from bone
cancer he lives with us now too. I have a mutual relationship with everyone in my
family, but I mostly keep to myself.
My happiest childhood memories all involve my dog, Micchan, who I got when I was
8 years old. I had begged my mom relentlessly for my own dog for at least an entire
year before she finally gave in and said yes.

She was a tiny silky terrier puppy, only 6 months old. Her coat was mostly black with
brown highlights on the end. I picked her up and cried for a solid 30 minutes, out of
pure joy. I already had a name picked out, Micchan. It had no particular meaning. I
just wanted something different. (Over the years she came to have several different
nicknames anyway, including, but not limited to: Boopy, Micchy, Fluffy, and Silly.)
She responded to just shouting in her general direction to get her attention.
It took some time for her to get used to her new home. She did not take an
immediate liking to Smokey, much the same way I didn t; except instead of being
afraid of their size difference, she was aggressive, and made it seem as if she was
the bigger of the two. It was kind of amusing to see that Smokey paid her no mind.
She had a lot of energy, which I put to use teaching her a few basic tricks and
commands. Micchan quickly learned how to sit, lay down, roll over, and shake, but
she was too impatient to learn stay.
I spoiled her rotten with belly rubs and treats, but even if I was technically the main
one in charge of her, she preferred my mom over me. Likely because she was the
one who fed Micchan while we were at school, and maybe because Micchan just
gravitated toward the leader of the family. Nonetheless, to Micchan,

During his campaign for power, Benito Mussolini once stated My objective is
simple. I want to make Italy great, respected and feared. This phrase is commonly
attributed to Mussolini because he was known to have the set mentality of
superiority, and would stop at nothing to restore Italy to its prestigious position; as it
held during the Renaissance period and the ancient Roman Empire. The ancient
Roman Empire was a success on many levels, making Italy a central power of the

Support for Fascism skyrocketed after the events at Versailles unfolded and Orlando
proved to be an incompetent leader. For centuries, Rome had been the most feared
empire on the planet. Their army was mammoth and they had seemingly endless
tactics. Along with the strategies of the army came their bounty of resources as a
result of their prime European location. They were the powerhouse of the world.
They were unstoppable. The Renaissance, a time of emerging art styles and forms,
originated from northern Italy. Everyone across Europe participated in the arts craze.
Aspiring painters, sculptors, and architects came to Italy to study artists work and
then brought what they learned back to their home countries. The years after the
Renaissance were not Italy s best, as England and the United States consistently beat
out Italy in rankings of influence. Under Orlando s command, there were no
exceptions to this. Yet, the promise Benito Mussolini provided to the people acted as
a glimmer of hope; which was exactly what they
Sports Journalism Essay
Sports Journalism
For my career research paper I have chosen to delve into the world of the
sportswriter, and take a closer look at what that occupation may hold for myself. I
have chosen to research this form of journalism because I consider myself to be a
sports fanatic, and would very much enjoy spending the rest of my working days
writing about the conditions in the world of sports. During the last year or so I
have taken a period of time everyday to relax and read over sports articles from
baseball and football at some of my favorite websites, such as espn.com or

Writers are found in their office in the morning, and they have afternoons off unless
there is a game or interview that they are supposed to cover. Nights are spent covering
an event or interview and then writing the article for it afterwards that night
(Heitzman 44). Sports journalism can be a difficult occupation at times, but it can also
be very rewarding. To help cover games better writers get tickets for excellent seats
at all events they are assigned to, they meet with sports stars and coaches (if they are
not a writer in a small town newspaper), and sometimes you travel abroad to cover
events (Heitzman 44).
A sportswriter in a small town newspaper would be one of two employees in the
sports section. The other employee is the editor. The small town newspaper
sportswriter collects information about local teams and games and writes about
them. National stories are often taken from acclaimed papers such as The
Associated Press (Heitzman 44). In a larger city s newspaper, the sports department
may have 10 employees. All of these employees have a certain sport that they excel
in writing about, such as football, baseball, hockey, basketball, golf, or high school
sports (Heitzman 44).
Sportswriters oftentimes will work odd hours. Writers for morning newspapers will

Who Is To Blame In The Mesmerizer By Mark Twain
The Mesmerizer by Mark Twain is an autobiography about young Twain and his
experience with a hypnotist that comes to town. Simmons, the mesmerizer, leads the
townspeople to believe that he possesses the ability to control people through
hypnosis, having them do whatever he wills them to do. Twain is unable to be put
into a trance, so he pretends that he is hypnotized and follows the enchanter s every
command. After watching the mesmerizer go along with his improvisations, Twain
realizes that Simmons is also a fraud. Through out the essay, Twain shows how
everyone involved is to blame. The mesmerizer is to blame because he takes
advantage of young Twain and allows the townspeople to hurt him. The townspeople
are to blame because they are credulous and willing to inflict pain upon the
participants. Twain is to blame because he deceives the townspeople and takes pride
in his lies without shame.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Benefits Of Hiking And Trekking
Why should you use hiking poles? Is the primary question that you ask yourself,
especially when you are a beginner in hiking. Before you get the right answer for
this question you need to consider two things and that is Safety and Comfort. Hiking
poles are just balancing sticks which help you maintain good balance that is closely
related to your overall safety and comfort. When you use two polesyou move as you
have four legs which allow you better comfort and safety. Hikingexperts say that
using hiking poles makes you switch to a 4x4 driving mode, by using your two legs

next time you will yourself carry these sticks with you by seeing their countless
benefits.
Thousands of people who have already used (or still using!) hiking poles for years
could not be wrong and this is the reason that poles are considered the traditional way
to move on uncertain tracks while maintaining good stability. Although, hiking poles
have countless benefits but below given are some significant benefits which enforce
us to use them every time we go on hiking and trekking:
Safety Safety is the main reason of using hiking poles. Hiking poles allow your
extra pair of legs to maintain stability on uncertain trails and when crossing fast
streams or difficult terrains. Without having hiking poles you may fall down that
may end up in injuries and accidents, and if you don t fall even then ache in knees

Rheumatoid Arthritis Case Study
I chose to research Rheumatoid Arthritis because two people that I am close with
suffer from this disease. This terrible diagnosis has impacted their life greatly. My
best friend was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis at the early age of thirteen.
When she first started experiencing joint pains, her doctor misdiagnosed it as
growing pains, because she was the tallest one in her class. After many months of
prolonged pain the doctor decided to reassess the problem, and concluded that she
was experiencing the onset of Rheumatoid Arthritis. At the time my friend was
modeling, so she was always on her feet. After a while she was unable to continue
this hobby because the was experiencing so much pain in her knees. The doctor
prescribed her steroid injections that she could give herself when her mobility was

Negative Impacts Of Landfills
Impacts of Landfills Impacts on the environment Landfills dumping can disrupt
natural processes on land and in the water. Dumping can interfere with proper
drainage of runoff. Areas are more susceptible to flooding when waste blocks 6
ravines, creeks, culverts, and drainage basins. In rural areas, burning at dump sites
can cause forest fires and severe erosion as fires burn away trees and undergrowth.
The run off from improper disposal of toxic substances such as motor oil or
household cleansers can contaminate lakes, streams, and drinking water supplies.
Dumping also has a negative impact on plants and wildlife. Many birds and small
animals die after ingesting or becoming entangled in debris. Fish and other aquatic
species are killed when decomposing litter and food wastes in streams deplete
oxygen supplies in the water. Refuse in a stream can also clog fish spawning areas.
Dumped appliances are not only an eyesore, but can also release toxic chemicals.
Refrigerators and freezers may release chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) into the air,
harming the earth s protective ozone layer. Improperly discarded appliances built
before 1979 may also leak polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) into the soil. According
to the EPA, PCBs can cause cancer, reproductive failure and hormone imbalances in
animals and humans, (Environmental Protection Agency, 2008). Impacts on human

Teneligliptin Synthesis Essay

not smoking? No, but why increase the risks. Everyday the age of kids start to use
tobacco is getting lower and lower, but there are still millions who do start, what
they don t realize is what tobacco is doing to them. I will explore how smoking
affects the body. Not only the effects it has on the body of the smoker but other
people around them. I will cite examples of how tobacco can cause or complicate
diseases. I will explore the effects of tobacco on the unborn. I will show how
tobacco can be socially unacceptable and ultimately how starting a habit that is very
difficult to quit is not worth the effort it will take to do so. Smoking is the leading
cause of lung cancer. Lung cancerusually begins in people over age 65 but can be
diagnosed much earlier. (cancercenter.com) Not only are you at risk for lung cancer
if you are a smoker but you are at risk if you are a non smoker but are constantly

I just sat there thinking about what to tell the news reporter since he had traveled

to come see me, and I m not the only one he could ask these questions. I wasn t the
only one in the Stanford Prison Experiment. Mr. Stanley, did you? the reporter
inquired. I think he noticed me spacing out. I had to ask him to repeat the question.
Did you have any friends in the experiment with you or did you walk out with
several new friends and/or allies? He questioned again and I could tell this was an
interesting question to him that he wanted commentary on the minor subject as
opposed to the bigger picture of living in the worst condition of my life that no
man should have to go through. Well I had one good friend who got me to join with
him, I responded, but he wanted me to elaborate on that. My friend Daniel Bentley

Zoos Are A Great Place Of Entertainment
First of all, what are zoos? Many people said that zoos are a great place of
entertainment because they can take their families to see lots of exotic animals
that you only get to see in books or on TV. Other said that zoos could be described
as some collections of animals found in nature. Of course, all these opinions are
true because for me going to the zoo has been always a great place to learn and
also have fun in company of my family. In addition, I ve found that all animals in
the zoo have different personality. For instance, the last time I went, and I spent a
lot of time watching the gorillas. I could noticed how all four gorillas that I
watched are totally different. For example, Zuri the silverback gorilla show had
been the leader of the group because he was the largest gorilla and have strong arms
that make him to walk upright. However, there have been both good and bad point
or opinions about zoos. In brief, for me zoos have more advantages than
disadvantages because the purposes behind keeping animals in detention are
associated with positive educational needs, research, recreation and conservation. But
the question whether animals should be kept captivated or not will be always in a
debate.
First, zoos provide education to society. The role of zoos nowadays places a greater
emphasis on education and conservation than merely recreation. Many school
children visit zoos to know more about endangered species and the different ways to
conserve them. The signposts

Distinctive Features: The general size of the Rosy Boa is small. They are usually
less than 3 feet in length, but can grow to be larger than that in unusual
circumstances. Additionally, they are pretty bulky and heavy. Their tails are
around 4 inches and have a rounded end. The Rosy Boa is a harmless creature they
have no venom in their body and have a docile nature. The scales on their whole
body are small and smooth, except for those on their head which are not

DNA Adaptation In DNA
Much of how the human body operates is due purely to one s genetic disposition.
This is due to the way proteins are produced. In protein production, DNA is read
three base pairs at a time making up for a codon which codes for a specific amino
acid. These amino acids are produced in translation, and they will be strung together
by something called tRNA to make full proteins. In DNAreplication, there are many
factors that determine the efficiency and effectiveness of what product is achieved
and how it functions. When base pairs are incorrect, are deleted, or extra pairs
inserted, what is called a mutation occurs. Mutations often times change the structure
of a protein, how it performs, or what protein is produced altogether. They can...

When an offspring has parents with similar genes, mutations in the parents are
much more likely to be expressed. For example, the genes of first cousins share
roughly one eighth of their DNA. If one shares this much DNA with their partner,
the likelihood of specific genes or DNA being donated to the offspring increases
exponentially in comparison to that of an offspring produced from non similar
parents. This allows recessive mutations in the genetic code to be expressed which
is why many deformities, mutations, or handicaps are commonly seen in those
produced from an incestuous relationship. Usually, common mutations that are
seen are actually due to recessive alleles. However, even if the allele is recessive,
having two parents who carry said recessive gene mate can easily cause an
expression of a mutation. In cases of incest, due to relation, mating relationships
can often have this recessive allele and will pass it on to an offspring. As it is
commonly known by way of a punnet square, if two carriers for a recessive gene
mate whose genotypes are (Xx) and (Xx), the offspring will have a 25% chance of
expressing the mutated gene in the form of (xx) alleles. One may think that it is still
not a high chance for mutation; however, in comparison to the chance of a mutation
without a common recessive gene it is seen as an extreme risk. Knowing that such
relations can cause mutations and health concerns helps the population to remove

Essay on Pleasantville
The movie Pleasantville , written, produced and directed by Gary Ross,
approaches a period in America s history which subsequent generations idealise as
a better and more stable society. He portrays this time period of the 1950s as a
time when people and life were less complicated; a time when everyone knew their
place in society. However, as the film ironically shows, this was a time when people
were more ignorant, racist and most certainly sexist. Ross demolishes this illusion of
the great 1950s American society by showing how its defects are gradually changed
from blackand white to colour. Ross shows that change is inevitable once a catalyst

Throughout the romantic scene between Skip and Mary Sue, the viewer notices that
Jennifer, as her Pleasantville character, Mary Sue, is the original catalyst of change
within Pleasantville . Without her intervention change would not have been
inevitable in Pleasantville . This intervention, however, was not a one way process.
The viewer also can note that Jennifer originally hated Pleasantville but grew to
accept it. This is clearly shown in the scene From the Tree of Knowledge
(01:10:00), where Jennifer puts on the coat, a symbol of Pleasantville s old fashion
dress. Supposedly because of the chill from the coming storm, she willingly puts on
what she originally first stated she would never wear. This act was the initiator of
her changing attitudes. Further by putting on glasses that symbolize nerdiness ,
reading a book and rejecting an offer to go out because she has to study , Jennifer
shows that Pleasantville is changing her into Mary Sue. The arrival for the first
time of a thunderstorm and rain to Pleasantville is a symbolic technique by director
Ross to imply that those who embraced change had their former selves washed
away. So Mary Sue, Bill and many of the teenagers become coloured people after the
storm. They become different people no longer normal residents of Pleasantville.
Bud is the second catalyst of change, yet most of the time when he does inflict
change upon Pleasantville he does so
Firefly Squid
Bioluminescence в€’ light produced by a living plant or animal в€’ is one of
nature s great spectacles. If you re lucky, you may have seen a summertime display
by fireflies, members of the most well known bioluminescent species in the United
States. Meanwhile, on the other side of the world, a creature known as the firefly
squid also provides a yearly light show. Gathering each year to spawn along the
coast of Japan, these squid light up bays and shorelines with a brilliant wash of blue.
Both the firefly and the firefly squid create light with a chemical called luciferin.
When it combines with other chemicals, luciferin produces a light without heat. The
structure of luciferin molecules in an animal s body determines the color of the light it
Cushing s Syndrome Thesis
Cushing s Syndrome
Cushing s syndrome (also known as Cushing s disease) is a disorder of the
endocrine system. The disease is caused by the excess production, or in some cases
excess consumption, of the hormone cortisol. The disease can be caused by tumors
on the pituitary gland, adrenal gland complications, and the usage of corticosteroids.
Cushing s syndrome is difficult to diagnose due to its rarity, and there is no specific
test to diagnose it. Symptoms of Cushing s syndrome include obesity, moon face ,
slow growth rate, skin changes, and muscle and bone changes. Cushing s syndrome is
treatable. Some of the treatments include surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation.

The disease most commonly affects individuals that are twenty to fifty years of age.
Females make up about seventy percent of all cases. It is still unclear as to what the
genetic cause of Cushing s syndrome is. In only a few cases have mutations in
certain genes led to Cushing s disease. These types of changes are called somatic
mutations. These genes play a role in regulating hormonal activity. Most cases of
Cushing s syndrome, however, occur sporadically. Even though it has been reported
to run in families, the disease has no apparent pattern of inheritance. The various
causes that can ultimately lead to Cushing s syndrome can have different inheritance
patterns. For example, some people may inherit the tendency to cultivate tumors or
have adrenal gland

1. Introduction
This paper provides an overview of Long Term Evolution (LTE) and Worldwide
Interoperability for Microwave Access (WiMAX) the leading technologies for next
generation mobile broadband. The information presented here will help readers
understand how the two technologies differ, why Verizon Wireless chose LTE, and
what advantages LTE offers customers. The following executive summary gives a
quick overview of the paper s contents and its subject matter. The remaining sections
go into greater technical detail about LTE and WiMAXwireless technologies. ...

Finally, we give practical recommendations of how using the proposed combined
LTE/MIMO Network with a Multi beam antenna system will increase the system s
capacity. This will allow the designers of wireless networks to obtain maximum data
rate, better channel spectral efficiency and less bit error rate, and as a result, much
better service and transmission performances.
1.2 Theoretical and Conceptual Framework
Driving the evolution of wireless broadband technology is customers increasing
expectations for speed, bandwidth, and global access. Customers want more
information, such as business and consumer applications, and entertainment available
through their mobile devices, but with greater speeds. For wireless carriers to
achieve greater speeds and pervasive connectedness, their networks need to start
behaving more like landline IP based networks. This line of thinking represents a
fundamental shift in perspective from mobile services to broadband connections for
customers and service providers alike. Enter the fourth generation (4G) wireless
network. Unlike earlier wireless standards, 4G technology is based on TCP/IP, the
core protocol of the Internet. TCP/IP enables wireless networks to deliver higher
level services, such as video and multimedia, while supporting the devices and
applications of the future. Verizon Wireless chose LTE over WiMAX as the
technological foundation for its 4G wireless broadband
Bill C-51
On June 9th 2015, Stephen Harper and the Canadian government passed Bill C 51.
It s an anti terrorism act, with only the best intentions at mind for Canada and its
national security. However since it s approval, there has been much controversy
surrounding the bill. There are five key changes in Bill C 51 and many Canadians
aren t pleased with them, such as, the right to exchange information between national
agencies, unwarranted arrests and also the increase in surveillance that will occur
with both of these new conditions (Watters, 1). Bill C 51 also interferes with
sections of the Charter and other key legal philosophies such as the Magna Carta and
the Rule of Law. Lastly, the main purpose of creating and passing the Anti Terrorism
Act is... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Charter of Rights and Freedoms states any limits imposed by Parliament on
our basic rights and fundamental freedoms must be reasonable ; they must not be
overly broad; and they must be demonstrably justified in a free and democratic
society (Ling, 2). The new offence surrounding the promotion of terrorism is
extremely broad and would make many innocent people suspects (Ling, 1). This
would deplete the resources of these national agencies extremely quickly because
of the extra surveillance and supervision that will be dedicated to these particular
people. This is a direct violation of privacy rights that are mentioned in Section
eight of the Charter of Rights and Freedoms (Jacobsen, 3), and also hinders people
from expression of speech, which is also included in Section two of the Charter
(Jacobsen, 2). Another portion of Bill C 51 that is given far too much leeway is the
preventative arrests and detention. Not only has the period for which someone can be
detained gone up from three days to seven, police are now able to make arrests based
solely on the officer s suspicion that a terrorist act may occur (Zwibel, 2). Prior to
the passing of the bill, officers had to show a judge that the arrest/detention would
prevent a terrorist act, only once the judge approves and grants a warrant could the
detainment occur (Watters, 1). This bill allows for too much discretion and
freedom for law enforcement, which is contrary to the values of the Charter of
Rights and the Rule of Law (Government of Canada), which states that everyone is
subject to the law and nobody is above the enforcement of the law. Granting these
officers the ability to decide who may be detained is providing them with far too
much power, which most officers would likely abuse. Another right, which is stated
in Section Six of the Charter of Rights and
The Characteristics Of The Monarch Butterfly
The monarch population has decreased up to about 22 million from last year to this
year. (Rice) The monarch butterfly is an insect that is beneficial to the ecosystem
;however, their population has decreased over the years. Poaching and farming have
caused this declination ,but there are solutions we can work with that may help the
population increase once again. The monarch butterflyis known by scientists as
Danausplexippus, which in Greek literally means sleepy transformation. The name
evokes the species ability to hibernate and metamorphize.(Schafer) Monarch
butterflies are indicator species just like they are pollinatorsas well ,and their
characteristics all serve different purposes to help them. For instance, their colorful
wings consist of veins and muscles. These features help blood circulate through
their tiny bodies and allow them to be able to do move. Their characteristics tell
differences in their gender as well by their patterns. In fact, males have black dots
on their wings ,and females are a little smaller in size. Additionally, they live up to
about two to six weeks as they grow from a caterpillar to becoming an adult
monarch butterfly. Their life cycle is made up of four stages: egg, the larvae, the
pupa, and the adult butterfly. It lasts about 28 to 38 days to be able to complete the
process. Their winter migration usually takes place in Mexico or Southern California,
where it is warm ,and they can hibernate in
Various Rocket Propellants and Their Characterstics
Rocket
A rocket is a missile, spacecraft, aircraft or other vehicle which obtains thrust from a
rocket engine. In all rockets, the exhaust is formed entirely from propellants carried
within the rocket before use.[1] Rocket engines work by action and reaction. Rocket
engines push rockets forwards simply by throwing their exhaust backwards extremely
fast.
Rockets for military and recreational uses date back to at least 13th century China.[2]
Significant scientific, interplanetary and industrial use did not occur until the 20th
century, when rocketry was the enabling technology of the Space Age, including
setting foot on the moon.
Rockets are used for fireworks, weaponry, ejection seats, ... Show more content on

Rocket propellant
Rocket propellant is mass that is stored in some form of propellant tank, prior to
being used as the propulsive mass that is ejected from a rocket engine in the form of
a fluid jet to produce thrust. A fuel propellant is often burned with an oxidizer
propellant to produce large volumes of very hot gas. These gases expand and push on
a nozzle, which accelerates them until they rush out of the back of the rocket at
extremely high speed, making thrust. Sometimes the propellant is not burned, but can
be externally heated for more performance. For smaller attitude control thrusters, a
compressed gas escapes the spacecraft through a propelling nozzle.
Chemical rocket propellants are most commonly used, which undergo exothermic
chemical reactions to produce hot gas used by a rocket for propulsive purposes.
In ion propulsion, the propellant is made of electrically charged atoms (ions), which
are electromagnetically pushed out of the back of the spacecraft. Magnetically
accelerated ion drives are not usually considered to be rockets however, but a similar
class of thrusters use electrical heating and magnetic nozzles.
Chemical propellants
There are three main types of propellants: solid, liquid, and hybrid.
Solid propellants
History
The earliest rockets were created hundreds of years ago by the Chinese, and

1.If God exists and is omnipotent, omniscient, and omnibenevolent, why is it odd (to
say the least!) that bad things happen? Make sure to answer this question in terms of
God s omnipotence, omniscience, and omnibenevolence.
God is omnipotent, omniscient, and omnibenevolent, so he should be able to prevent
anything bad from happening. o Omnipotent: God is all powerful, and therefor would
be able to prevent any bad thing from happening. o Omniscient: God is all knowing,
and would be able to stop bad things before they happen. o Omnibenevolent: God is
all good and all loving, and, therefore, would not want any bad stuff to happen.

These are things that occur in our world and effect humans, they are things that can
be caused by humans or things like natural disasters.
Supernatural evils are cosmological evils, things that are far beyond all terrestrial
things. These things are all on the level of God, and the only things god needs to
prevent.
3.Lay out and explain the Logical Problem of Evil against the existence of God.
Logical Problem of Evil o If God exists there is no bad stuff because God is an
omnipotent, omniscient, and omnibenevolent being. With these characteristics, God
should prevent all bad things from happening. o There is bad stuff in the world. o
Therefore, God doesn t exist because if he did, he would prevent bad stuff.
4.The Logical Problem of Evil is logical because it implicitly claims that there is a
logical contradiction between two propositions. What is a logical contradiction?
What are these two propositions that are supposedly logically contradictory? Why
does Plantinga claim that these two propositions are not actually logically
contradictory (don t lay out Plantinga s whole theory just answer why Plantinga says
there is no actual contradiction here).
Social Norms In Sociology
To start, I will discuss what social norms are. Societal norms are both unwritten
informal rules that are accepted by people and written formal rules that are strictly
enforced laws, of how people should carry themselves (Keirns, et al., 2016). Social
norms are part of the socialization process. The socialization process is the way
people learn the norms and beliefs of our society to fit in (Keirns, et al., 2016,
n.p.). Some examples of social norms are looking into the eyes of the person you are
speaking with, using silverware instead of your hands when eating, and saying
excuse me when you belch in front of someone. Societal norms give myself and
people guidelines of how to carry themselves in different situations. More importantly,

Gender role is described as the perception the society has on how males and
females should carry themselves in terms of appearance and behaviors. Some
examples of perceptions the society has on women in the home are, they need to
know how to cook, take care of the children, and manage the house. I applied this
sociological concept because I see the perception evident in my log. During my
husband absence, I manage the house by making sure my daughter made it to
school, the house stayed clean and provided my children meals. When my husband
is home, and I am at work, he is usually taking on my role until I get back. When I
do get back home from work, my husband basically expects me to perform the
gender role of a woman in the house. Sociologists Schieman and Taylor (2001)
studies stated women s role in the society are traditionally revolved around tasked
that are household related. They also stated that in the society, men and women are
expected to have different responsibilities within the home. Women s central role is
often linked to family, even while involved in the workforce, men s core role often
tends to be associated with paid employment (Schieman Taylor, 2001, p. 473). This
verifies that the examples I stated earlier about the perception the society has on the
gender role of women are
Persuasive Essay On Homelessness
Imagine being a child and escaping your harsh home life to then be left to face the
dangers of the streets. Think about what it would be like to have to wonder where
you would sleep each night for protection or when you could find food next. While
this is only a brief thought for most people, for some children this is their life.
According to the National Coalition for the Homeless, Homeless youth, sometimes
referred to as unaccompanied youth, are individuals under the age of 18 who lack
parental, foster, or institutional care ( Youth Homelessness). Youth homelessness can
stem from multiple issues such as physical or sexual abuse from families, parental
neglect and drug addictions, or even economic issues. When most people see these
children they believe there is no hope for them. However, this was not the case for
Penny Reynolds. Penny Reynolds is the founder of the Sisu Youth Services in
Oklahoma City. Penny said, I was 19 when I first experienced homelessness.
Growing up I d lived in a dozen of different apartments, attended school in 6
different cities, taken care of my mom through years of depressive, manic and
epileptic episodes and relied on my grandmother and friends fro lunch money (
About Us ). Penny wanted to ensure that children like herself had options to turn to
for help, so she began Sisu Youth. The word Sisu is Finnish for succeeding against
all odds, resilience, and bravery, which really represents Penny s attitude towards
helping these kids. Some of Sisu Youth s main values are community and
compassion for others. Because this cause struck Penny so close to the heart, she
is very passionate about helping and protecting the cities endangered youth. In an
article in News 9, Penny said It s about seeing the look in their eye when they know
that somebody cares ( Nonprofit Opens Day Center For Homeless Teenagers ).
They believe the kids who have no one to rely on should have someone to look out
for them and provide help. In today s society it is too easy for someone to turn the
other way and do nothing to help the homeless, but Sisu Youth is founded on
compassion for others and helping the members of their surrounding community.
According to Penny, In 2010 Sisu Youth started out as a
Environmental Challenges Of The Auto Industry
The US auto industry directly employs 1.55 million Americans and impacting a
total of 7.25 million US jobs, generates $500 billion in annual compensation. (1)
With such a large industry looming in the economy, it is inevitable that it will face
environmental challenges. Environmental challenges can be hard to control and are
essential to the success of a company. The challenges that the auto industry must
contend with are many and complex, such as; global competition, consumer
opinions, and new technology, a difficult fight lies ahead. The globalization of the
world has made business markets even more competitive. The auto industry in The
United States has not escaped this. Global competition resulted in less market
share for U.S. car manufacturers and threatened company profits as more foreign
brands entered the U.S. market. The total market share of General Motors fell
from 28.2% in 2000 to 17.6% by 2014. The other two of the Big Three car
manufacturers also lost U.S. market share during this same period. Ford fell from
24.1% to 14.7%. Fiat owned Chrysler now holds only 12.7% after having 15.7% of
the market in 2000. (2) It is undeniable that a global market has infiltrated the US auto
industry. There are many factors that make a foreign car appealing to US consumers
such as: new and unique products, brand appeal, new technology (fuel efficient
engines), safety features, allegiance to birth country, product quality and reputation,
reliability, cost, and the list goes
Indian Voting System Using Electronic Voting Machine
Indian Voting System using Electronic Voting Machine (EVM)
Introduction: Traditionally a voting machine has been defined by mechanism of the
system to cast votes and categorized by the location where the system calculates and
show the votes. With advances in technology EVM came into existence. This system
in which citizens interact to cash their ballets that is common parlance to electronic
ballet marking system, when the voter makes his or her choices, provides to verify
their casted votes the mechanism used in this is DRE (Direct Recording Electronic
System). Primarily the EVM S are manufactured by BEL (Bharath Electronics
Limited) and ECIL (Electronics Corporation of India Limited). It ensures flawless
voting and thus has become more widespread. Retains all characteristic of voting
while making it more beneficial.
History of EVM: In India all the earlier elections is done by putting the stamp against
candidate name and folding the ballot paper and dropping into a box. This is time
consuming process and very much prone to errors until EVM came into existence,
EVM s are manufactured in 1989 90 and are first used in experimental basis in 16
assembly constituencies in 1998. In 1980 Mr. MB Haneefa designed the first voting
machine. In 2014 elections, Election Commission of India introduced NOTA (None
of the above) option in EVM s.This is the latest improvements in EVM.
Working of EVM: EVM consists of two units, they are ballot unit and control unit

Hardwood Flooring
Hardwood flooring looks great in any home because it fits in easily with pretty
much any home decor. But before you get to enjoy the benefits of having beautiful,
elegant looking floors in your home, you have to find the perfect contractor for the
job. There are many contractors available for the job, but finding the right one
involves a lot more than asking about available floor options and how much they cost.
Here are a few important things to discuss with your potential hardwood flooring
contractor in Milwaukee, WI.
Schedule: Before you hire a hardwood flooring contractor, one thing you should
discuss is the schedule for the project. When will the job start and end, what
happens if there is a delay and what your needs are as far as dates. ... Show more

You could wait until the job is finished, but there is nothing wrong with wanting to
know for sure that things are moving along smoothly and there have been no
problems. Your contractor should be able to update you when you inquire about the
progress or update you on their own without you asking.
Protection: During the installation process, is it important that no damage will be
done to your home. A lot of contractors are aware of the potential damage that can
be done while they are working and actually have several ways they protect your
belongings. You will likely move furniture and appliances, but there will also needto
be measures taken by your contractor to keep you, your home and your belongings
safe from dust, nails and anything else found in the construction zone.
Like many home improvement jobs, you can t always do it yourself and you can t
trust just anyone. Cost and the type of hardwood are important, but there is a lot
more to be considered when choosing a contractor. Inquiring about these things can
help save you time, money and ultimately make a huge difference in how pleased you
are with the final results.

H R Block Performance Management Best Practices H R Block Performance Management Best Practices During the time that I spent in labor force I was able to work with numerous of people in various fields of work. When I first read this assignment, I knew exactly who I wanted to interview. Indeed, out of all the people I ve worked alongside with, none made an impression on me quite as much as my former manager Maria from H R Block. Her commitment, friendliness and work ethic were nothing short of extraordinary. She was the first and only thought that came into my mind when I thought of who to interview for this assignment. The first question I asked Maria had to deal with her duration at H R Block. Indeed, she had been with the company for ten years and had become the manager of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... She was so well liked that clients would come from cities 100 miles away just to get their returns prepared by Maria. Despite the fact that H R Block is the biggest tax firm in the world, it still has many venues for growth. In my interview with Maria, she mentioned to me that many people are off put by H R Block due to the high prices. Other tax preparation firms charge anywhere from $50 $300 for a return while H R Block charges range from $50 $700 returns. This staggering price range is the reason why many people will risk doing their taxes with smaller and less organized firms rather than H R Block. The reason why H R Block sets their price so high is because it backs each return with audit protection and demands that the preparer checks every return carefully before being sent to the IRS. Maria claimed that if more customers knew about the unparalleled quality of H R Block s guarantees, as well as the danger and stress of an IRS audit, many more people would do their returns at H R Block instead of at a cheap and risky unofficial stores . In order to solve this issue, Maria told me that she was trying to emphasize the company s guarantees to the marketing team so they could make commercials and brochures advertising this fact of H R Block. Americans need to consider the face that H R Block is the largest tax preparation firm in the country. However, as Maria puts it: There is always room for

  • 5. Uses Of Quantification In Swift-SwiftBy William Swift 1.Swift wants the reader to view the speaker as a compassionate, reasonable individual with a clear view regarding the concern of the numerous Irish lives populating the community, crowding the streets ... with beggars of the female sex, followed by three, four, or six children... (Swift 1). In contrast, the persona he adopts is cold and merciless, which is evident through the depersonalizing diction in which he refers to the wives of couples as breeders (Swift 7). 2.Dehumanization is used to emphasize the wasted energy and costs associated with raising children in an overly populated environment that is devastating to many, proposing that rather than ... being a change upon their parents... they shall on the contrary contribute to the feeding, and partly to the clothing, of many thousands (Swift 5). The number of souls in this kingdom being usually reckoned one million and a half... there may be about two hundred thousand couple whose wives are breeders... although I apprehend there cannot be so many, under the present distresses of the kingdom (Swift 7) is an example of quantification as it expresses the countless Irish lives and how this large community is subjected to the desensitizing gaze of society. 3.In deploying this rhetorical strategy, it enables Swift to persuade his audience that his proposal will yield effective outcomes, forcing them to feel obligated to support his initiative. Furthermore, he also draws on the audience s values of limiting the rights of the

Science and religion conflict with each other for many things, such as for how the universe began. People have mixed views on the topic. Some people think there s too much conflict for them to be compatible, whilst others think they can be in harmony. This is quite a polemical theme and that s why in this essay I m going to clarify how far I agree with the following statement: There is too much conflict between scienceand religionfor them to be compatible, by presenting all sides of the argument. The first view is that science and religion contradict too much to a certain extent that both cannot be viable. Let s take as our first example the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 9. Inexperience In Mary Shelley s Frankenstein Mary Shelley s Frankenstein is considered one of the greatest works of gothic literature. Frankenstein, or the Modern Prometheus, tells the story of an ambitious young scientist named Victor Frankenstein. During his time at university, Dr. Frankenstein decides to take on a daring project, attempting to create life. After spending months laboring, he finally achieves his goal, but realizes that he has made a grave mistake. Throughout the rest of the story, Frankensteins monster terrorizes and murders the rest of Victor s friends and family until he is left alone in world. Mary Shelley was 19 years old when she wrote this novel. Though it is, to this day, still considered to be one of the greatest works of gothic literature of all time, there... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Choice of language is one of the many ways one character can be distinguished from another. If all the novel s characters speak in the same manner, there won t be many ways to tell them apart. The way a person speaks can give insight on their personality, upbringing and, even something as simple as age. Shelley s characters all seem to speak with the same manner of speech. They all sound like they are from upper class families. It s hard to distinguish one from the other without indicators. The perfect example in this is found with Frankenstein s monster. He learned to speak from books and listening to the people who lived in the cottage he hid behind. This family would certainly would not have spoken in the same fashion the Frankenstein family did. Yet, when the monster speaks he sounds like Victor Frankenstein, an upper class gentleman. You also find this issue with William Frankenstein, Victor s younger brother. William is supposed to be six years old. His speech, however, is that of someone three times his age. William Frankenstein talks like everyone else in the book. Thus, it s hard to imagine him as a child. This is what makes novels so unique and a character s speech so important. The only image the reader has of these people is that which is created in their minds. When a young boy talks like a man, it s hard to see him as a young boy. The image is distorted. Authors who have been writing for a long time know this and try to match their writing to their character s personality to provide a clearer characterization for their
  • 10. Nasolacteristic Surgical Procedures Tears drain through small openings in the corners of the lower and upper eyelids called puncta and enter the nose through the nasolacrimal duct. An obstruction in the duct blocks the normal flow of tears and causes a backflow in the eye. Blockage of the drainage system causes tears to well up on the surface of the eyes and overflow on the eyelashes, eyelids, and down the cheek. In such condition, eyelids can become red swollen and sometimes even stuck together. The severity of such signs may vary under different conditions such as respiratory illness or outdoor exposure to wind and dust. The treatment procedure depends on the reasons of the blockage of tear ducts. It requires more than one approach to receive the proper treatment. The reasons may be a tumor or infection and the treatment differs accordingly.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... DCR (Dacryocystorhinostomy) is the surgical procedure used for the treatment of duct obstruction. This surgical procedure eliminates the fluid and mucus retention in the lacrimal sac. It allows tears to directly drain into the nasal cavity from the canaliculi through a low resistance
  • 11. Gender and Sexuality in Culture Diversity or rather, the lack of understanding diversity may be one of the most prevalent issues in the world today. Though the World Wide Web has bridged the cultural gap some, it will never fully or accurately reveal the truth simply because it is difficult to fully understand cultural meanings from an outsider s perspective. A more specific type of cultural oppression is what Amazons feel that men have over women. Amazons portrayed in Y are an extremist group of women who believe that the men died for a reason, and they intend to embrace the new freedom and control given to them by Mother Earth (Vaughan, 96). Subjugation that these women felt from their male counterpart was apparently detrimental to their lives. In The Sworn Virgins of Albania , women decide to take on a male status for various reasons such as protection, avoiding an arranged marriage, and keeping the family name (Young, 253). With all men extinct, the sworn virgins would have no need to exist. According to Different Words, Different Worlds , men s authority over women is seen through chivalrous acts such as opening a door. What they believe is in fact happening is that the man gives the woman permission to walk first, but he can easily take that consent away just the same, thus confirming he has the control (Tannen, 231). Language is another tool used to control and belittle. Language is only fully understood within the context of its culture. • 12. Descriptive Essay About Snow White Snow White. Casper. Why do these characters sound familiar to me? Well, these have been the nicknames I have acquired through the years. I describe myself as bright white. I never realized how white I was until people felt the dire need to tell me. As a young child, I never really thought it was a super colossal deal either. But as we age, we learn new things that perhaps we did not recognize before. People say that some things in life, you just never forget. This indeed is very true. Words can scar. Several summers ago I was at a friend s house playing volleyball with a few people. Does it bother you that you are so white? asked a girl who I did not even know. I dropped the ball and stared at her with a blank expression. All that was running through my mindwas, Does it bother you that you are so obnoxious? But of course this thought was not vocalized. I simply kept playing volleyball. But soon after I established questions. Does it bother me? Should it bother me? I went home that day and glared at myself in the mirror. Then it struck me, I was whiter than most people were. This one stranger s comment made me question myself. I began to over analyze and as time passed by my self esteem plummeted. I thought that maybe if I had been born with sun kissed skin, my family and friends would not judge me. Then, I began wearing makeup to not look as sickly as people made me out to be. I developed a sudden yearning to go down to the shore all the time to try to get some type of color. But then one day, I studied my mom s face. Her smooth, glowing, and porcelain skin made me wonder. I was curious as how a woman at her age could look ten years younger. My mom shared the specific ingredient to maintaining beautiful skin. She explained that staying out of the sun was the key to wrinkle free skin as an adult. Hundreds of thoughts ran through my mind. She also stated that as a teenager, she experienced all the same reactions. In fact, one crude person asked if she had lived in a bomb shelter, meaning that it looked as if she never saw the sun. The irony of it all was that these people with the so called society accepted complexions who told me to lay in the sun, actually had imperfections on their skin from

Staples, unlike many monopolistic competition companies are concerned about what the major local competition is doing with their prices. Staples hires an outside company to check the different prices on items that they all carry alike, and then they decide to adjust their price accordingly to the research. Since Staples operates in the monopolistic competition, the demand curve faces in a downward slope. The downward sloping demand curve means that in making decisions about output, the monopolistic competitor will use a marginal revenue curve that is below price. At its profit maximizing output, marginal cost will be less than price (The McGraw Hill, 2004). In the monopolistic competition market structure the competition implies zero economic profit in the long run. If Staples shows a profit then the competition in the market will lower the price to increase their profits and stop Staples. Mr. Stanley, did you? the reporter inquired. I think he noticed me spacing out. I had to ask him to repeat the question. Did you have any friends in the experiment with you or did you walk out with several new friends and/or allies? He questioned again and I could tell this was an interesting question to him that he wanted commentary on the minor subject as opposed to the bigger picture of living in the worst condition of my life that no man should have to go through. Well I had one good friend who got me to join with him, I responded, but he wanted me to elaborate on that. My friend Daniel Bentley came up to me with a newspaper saying there was an ad in a newspaper he wanted me to check out. So I took the paper and looked at all the ads until he noticed I was lost and pointed to the ad that was looking for college students to be a part of an experiment. The pay was good, $15 a day (McLeod, 2008). So I agreed to join with him and a couple weeks later the local police showed up in front of my house and arrested me. They came up with a legit excuse and they had real evidence. It had to look as real as possible since no one else knew it was an experiment. I was taken to the
  • 34. Zoos Are A Great Place Of Entertainment First of all, what are zoos? Many people said that zoos are a great place of entertainment because they can take their families to see lots of exotic animals that you only get to see in books or on TV. Other said that zoos could be described as some collections of animals found in nature. Of course, all these opinions are true because for me going to the zoo has been always a great place to learn and also have fun in company of my family. In addition, I ve found that all animals in the zoo have different personality. For instance, the last time I went, and I spent a lot of time watching the gorillas. I could noticed how all four gorillas that I watched are totally different. For example, Zuri the silverback gorilla show had been the leader of the group because he was the largest gorilla and have strong arms that make him to walk upright. However, there have been both good and bad point or opinions about zoos. In brief, for me zoos have more advantages than disadvantages because the purposes behind keeping animals in detention are associated with positive educational needs, research, recreation and conservation. But the question whether animals should be kept captivated or not will be always in a debate. First, zoos provide education to society. The role of zoos nowadays places a greater emphasis on education and conservation than merely recreation. Many school children visit zoos to know more about endangered species and the different ways to conserve them. The signposts

  • 37. DNA Adaptation In DNA Much of how the human body operates is due purely to one s genetic disposition. This is due to the way proteins are produced. In protein production, DNA is read three base pairs at a time making up for a codon which codes for a specific amino acid. These amino acids are produced in translation, and they will be strung together by something called tRNA to make full proteins. In DNAreplication, there are many factors that determine the efficiency and effectiveness of what product is achieved and how it functions. When base pairs are incorrect, are deleted, or extra pairs inserted, what is called a mutation occurs. Mutations often times change the structure of a protein, how it performs, or what protein is produced altogether. They can... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When an offspring has parents with similar genes, mutations in the parents are much more likely to be expressed. For example, the genes of first cousins share roughly one eighth of their DNA. If one shares this much DNA with their partner, the likelihood of specific genes or DNA being donated to the offspring increases exponentially in comparison to that of an offspring produced from non similar parents. This allows recessive mutations in the genetic code to be expressed which is why many deformities, mutations, or handicaps are commonly seen in those produced from an incestuous relationship. Usually, common mutations that are seen are actually due to recessive alleles. However, even if the allele is recessive, having two parents who carry said recessive gene mate can easily cause an expression of a mutation. In cases of incest, due to relation, mating relationships can often have this recessive allele and will pass it on to an offspring. As it is commonly known by way of a punnet square, if two carriers for a recessive gene mate whose genotypes are (Xx) and (Xx), the offspring will have a 25% chance of expressing the mutated gene in the form of (xx) alleles. One may think that it is still not a high chance for mutation; however, in comparison to the chance of a mutation without a common recessive gene it is seen as an extreme risk. Knowing that such relations can cause mutations and health concerns helps the population to remove possible
  • 38. Essay on Pleasantville The movie Pleasantville , written, produced and directed by Gary Ross, approaches a period in America s history which subsequent generations idealise as a better and more stable society. He portrays this time period of the 1950s as a time when people and life were less complicated; a time when everyone knew their place in society. However, as the film ironically shows, this was a time when people were more ignorant, racist and most certainly sexist. Ross demolishes this illusion of the great 1950s American society by showing how its defects are gradually changed from blackand white to colour. Ross shows that change is inevitable once a catalyst for change is added to the ordered life of Pleasantville. Once David and Mary Sue begin... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Throughout the romantic scene between Skip and Mary Sue, the viewer notices that Jennifer, as her Pleasantville character, Mary Sue, is the original catalyst of change within Pleasantville . Without her intervention change would not have been inevitable in Pleasantville . This intervention, however, was not a one way process. The viewer also can note that Jennifer originally hated Pleasantville but grew to accept it. This is clearly shown in the scene From the Tree of Knowledge (01:10:00), where Jennifer puts on the coat, a symbol of Pleasantville s old fashion dress. Supposedly because of the chill from the coming storm, she willingly puts on what she originally first stated she would never wear. This act was the initiator of her changing attitudes. Further by putting on glasses that symbolize nerdiness , reading a book and rejecting an offer to go out because she has to study , Jennifer shows that Pleasantville is changing her into Mary Sue. The arrival for the first time of a thunderstorm and rain to Pleasantville is a symbolic technique by director Ross to imply that those who embraced change had their former selves washed away. So Mary Sue, Bill and many of the teenagers become coloured people after the storm. They become different people no longer normal residents of Pleasantville. Bud is the second catalyst of change, yet most of the time when he does inflict change upon Pleasantville he does so

Finally, we give practical recommendations of how using the proposed combined LTE/MIMO Network with a Multi beam antenna system will increase the system s capacity. This will allow the designers of wireless networks to obtain maximum data rate, better channel spectral efficiency and less bit error rate, and as a result, much better service and transmission performances. 1.2 Theoretical and Conceptual Framework Driving the evolution of wireless broadband technology is customers increasing expectations for speed, bandwidth, and global access. Customers want more information, such as business and consumer applications, and entertainment available through their mobile devices, but with greater speeds. For wireless carriers to achieve greater speeds and pervasive connectedness, their networks need to start behaving more like landline IP based networks. This line of thinking represents a fundamental shift in perspective from mobile services to broadband connections for customers and service providers alike. Enter the fourth generation (4G) wireless network. Unlike earlier wireless standards, 4G technology is based on TCP/IP, the core protocol of the Internet. TCP/IP enables wireless networks to deliver higher level services, such as video and multimedia, while supporting the devices and applications of the future. Verizon Wireless chose LTE over WiMAX as the technological foundation for its 4G wireless broadband

It s an anti terrorism act, with only the best intentions at mind for Canada and its national security. However since it s approval, there has been much controversy surrounding the bill. There are five key changes in Bill C 51 and many Canadians aren t pleased with them, such as, the right to exchange information between national agencies, unwarranted arrests and also the increase in surveillance that will occur with both of these new conditions (Watters, 1). The Charter of Rights and Freedoms states any limits imposed by Parliament on our basic rights and fundamental freedoms must be reasonable ; they must not be overly broad; and they must be demonstrably justified in a free and democratic society (Ling, 2). The new offence surrounding the promotion of terrorism is extremely broad and would make many innocent people suspects (Ling, 1). This would deplete the resources of these national agencies extremely quickly because of the extra surveillance and supervision that will be dedicated to these particular people. This is a direct violation of privacy rights that are mentioned in Section eight of the Charter of Rights and Freedoms (Jacobsen, 3), and also hinders people from expression of speech, which is also included in Section two of the Charter (Jacobsen, 2). Another portion of Bill C 51 that is given far too much leeway is the preventative arrests and detention. Not only has the period for which someone can be detained gone up from three days to seven, police are now able to make arrests based solely on the officer s suspicion that a terrorist act may occur (Zwibel, 2). Prior to the passing of the bill, officers had to show a judge that the arrest/detention would prevent a terrorist act, only once the judge approves and grants a warrant could the detainment occur (Watters, 1). This bill allows for too much discretion and freedom for law enforcement, which is contrary to the values of the Charter of Rights and the Rule of Law (Government of Canada), which states that everyone is subject to the law and nobody is above the enforcement of the law. Granting these officers the ability to decide who may be detained is providing them with far too much power, which most officers would likely abuse. A fuel propellant is often burned with an oxidizer propellant to produce large volumes of very hot gas. These gases expand and push on a nozzle, which accelerates them until they rush out of the back of the rocket at extremely high speed, making thrust. Sometimes the propellant is not burned, but can be externally heated for more performance. For smaller attitude control thrusters, a compressed gas escapes the spacecraft through a propelling nozzle. Chemical rocket propellants are most commonly used, which undergo exothermic chemical reactions to produce hot gas used by a rocket for propulsive purposes. In ion propulsion, the propellant is made of electrically charged atoms (ions), which are electromagnetically pushed out of the back of the spacecraft. Magnetically accelerated ion drives are not usually considered to be rockets however, but a similar class of thrusters use electrical heating and magnetic nozzles. When my husband is home, and I am at work, he is usually taking on my role until I get back.
