fortunate. Not to discredit any other race or say that any race is superior to any other, however
the enduring spirit of African Americans could be seen during the 1800 s and still can be seen
shining brightly today. When one thinks of endurance, one tends to think about sustainability. In
this case I am talking about how long it would it take for the human spirit to broken and be
conformed and molded. There are a plethora of pivotal moments in history that led up to African
Americans having the ability to have a voice in America today, however I think there are four
events that shows the progress and that show how life in the United States changed over time for

In the United States, people like to believe everyone has an equal chance at success. This emphasis
on self effort perpetuates the belief that people control their own social standing. However,
sociologists recognize that social stratification is a society wide system that makes inequalities
apparent (Griffiths et al., 2016, p.188). There are many factors that drive social inequality;
globalization and immigration, technology advances, the family you were born into, and even the
education you received in pre school. I feel the most important contributing factor is economic
inequality. I consider this to be true not only for the United States, but globally as well.
Both wealthy and poor classes, and all those in between would benefit from living in a more
economically equitable society. Statistics show correlation of an increase in overall physical health
and longevity, a decrease in infant mortality rates, and an increase in mental health in individuals
living in societies with higher economic equality. There is also substantial evidence linking greater
equality to better social relationships within societies there is less violence, and a greater sense of
overall trust.

particular, I wanted to provide feedback and forward to the students that was targeted towards their

YEF Atlanta plans to focus most of their efforts first at the colleges surrounding Atlanta Bethel
Church. Four historical African American universities sit only two blocks away from the church.
YEF plans to take advantage of this proximity to the schools, in order to find many young students
seeking Godand raise them as leaders of the church.
Last Friday, Pastor Anderson of Atlanta Bethel met with the organization and ministry leaders to
discuss the goals for the whole church community, the Southeastern region and for Georgia from
this year until 2021. It was agree upon that the goal for 2021 should be approximately 3,000
church leaders in Georgia. YEF will play a substantial role in this growth, because of the group s

narrator does go as far as telling about her child hood growing up but instead talks about her life

unanswered questions throughout the entire story, and even with the surprise ending it still
leaves us with a lot of questions that need to be answered. Since the narrator didn t give that
much of a backstory regarding Miss Emily, we must come up with theories and conclusions to
answer our own questions. First, we see that Miss Emily is mysterious even from the very
beginning because the narrator talks about how her house used to be, white, decorated with
cupolas, and spires, and scrolled balconies . By the way the narrator describes her house it seems
that it used to be very beautiful and full of life, but now the, garages and cotton gins had
encroached and obliterated . The narrator mentions in the story is that Miss Emily had a
manservant; we start to ask ourselves the question that if she has a servant to wait on her hand and
foot than how could she let her house get in such a bad shape like that when she could have asked
