Persuasive Essay On Wild Nature
Wild nature is home for a huge number of animal varieties, a significant number of which are exotic
or near extinction.
Throughout recent decades, mankind has attempted to prevent the extinction of these creatures, secure
the territory of these species, and by one means or another, minimize the negative consequences of the
presence of humans.
Be that as it may, there is another issue that has not been given careful consideration to this issue is
keeping these outlandish creatures as pets.
Although the caregivers of these pets believe they are doing no harm, in fact such a practice should be
prohibited due to a number of reasons that not only endanger the animal, but also the person.
In reality, no one, aside from maybe the wealthiest individuals, can provide for a wild creature and
give it all its essential needs.
Exotic creatures have extraordinary requirements. For instance, wild tigers require a substantial
domain to wander and roam in with large amounts of fresh meat.
A venomous Monocled cobra, which can be lawfully purchased in various states for a weak $100, will
over and over strike when feeling in danger, the snake can feel threatened for multiple reason and
most are unidentified until bitten. In a different category, a bobcat can chase its prey eight times
greater than itself with the will and potential to rip its target to shreds. Chimpanzees and different
primates require a ton of room for climbing, as well as ocean warm blooded creatures that require
tremendous water bowls to swim and drink. Overall, the amount of time, dedication, and most
importantly space, is too great for an ordinary individual to maintain.
In addition to cleaning and entering the enclosed habitats, it is much too dangerous for a common
being to provide and withhold.
Along with the everyday dangers of exotic animals, these animals might also have serious diseases
that the caretaker may be completely oblivious to.
For example, the monkeypox outbreak that affected dozens of people in the Midwest in 2003 was so
uncontrolled and unknown it almost became an epidemic. Also, many of these animals are carriers of
zoonotic diseases, such as Herpes B,
Rabies, Salmonella, Rabies, and Monkeypox, all of which are communicable

Epilogue About Mama
Chapter One As the noon sun faded into afternoon shadows, a gentle summer breeze rustled the white
silk curtains as Mama and I sat at the dining table with the turkey platter between us. I remember the
sweet smell of Honeysuckle filled the air, as I watched Mama gently trace every broken piece of the
platter with her fingertip that was set in glue, now hardened and yellowed by time. For a bit, she just
sat there looking at the old thing until her eyes brimmed with tears. When I reached out to comfort her,
she looked up with a faraway smile (buried somewhere in the past) and said, I m okay baby sweet
memories always make me cry. Then she began to share the sweetest memory of all. Mama said that

Mama said that she remembered their noses were the first indication that they were close to Dutch and
Stevie s farm, You could smell Grandma s cooking miles away. We were always starved from the long
buggy ride anyway almost thirty miles over hard, wagon worn dirt roads. Back then, that was a long
way. But to have to sit in that buggy and smell Grandma s cooking all those miles well, it was almost
too much for a human to bear! By the time we got there, we were so hungry that it was all we could do
to get the hellos, hugs and kisses out of the way so we could eat. I chuckled (I could relate) because
that s exactly how I felt about Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner. Just talking about it, Mama said,
takes me back to those gentle rolling hills in East Texas, with its peaceful valleys and quiet streams.
And when it snowed, she got a faraway look in her eyes, When it snowed it was heaven! Mama
described their journey so beautifully that I envisioned a winter wonderland filled with enchanted
mystery that I could see in my mind as clearly as I could see the white, silk curtains rustling over the
living room windows to the kiss of a gentle breeze. I can see it today just as I imagined it

The Hardest Thing In Sport Essay
To some college students playing college sports is everything including the reason why some even
attend college. There are a lot of different sports students can play in college but there is none harder
than baseball... or is it softball? There has been a long time debate about which sport is harder. Is
hitting a baseball the hardest thing to do in sports or is hitting a fast pitch softball the hardest thing in
sports to do? Ted Williams the famous baseball player once said the toughest thing in sports is hitting
a round ball with a round bat . He was definitely right about that, but I think he could have been a little
more precise with his statement. The toughest thing in sports is to hit a round ball with a round bat,
when the round ball is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When a baseball is pitched there is a downward arc due to the throwing motion of the pitcher. When a
softball is thrown hard it can rise up as it approaches the plate, which makes it more difficult to hit.
According to the online publication Sports Engineering, titled Modeling Pitch Trajectories in Fast
Pitch Softball , there are scientific formulas that determine pitch trajectories, lift, drag, and other pitch
factors which, in turn, could affect the strategies used in each game that a player needs to be
successful. To investigate these and other aspects of fastpitch softball pitches, a model based on
Newton s equation is presented that simulates their motion. By assuming reasonable values for the
angle, speed and height off the ground of a softball as it leaves the pitcher s hand, we compute and
display the trajectories of rise balls, drop balls and curve balls. The model is then used to predict an
upper bound on the lift coefficient of a fastpitch softball and show that this bound agrees with
experimental data. The model also predicts the launch angles necessary for various pitches to pass
through the strike zone, as well as a value of the drag coefficient which is consistent with experimental
data. Using the time analysis of a batter s swing presented by Adair, we then discuss when a given
pitch has a good chance of fooling a batter into starting her swing before she can accurately assess the
trajectory

Washington Dc Vs Riyadh Research Paper
Have you ever thought about the similarities and differences between to different cities from two
different countries? Some countries are similar in many traditions. Also, you can find major tradition
differences between two different countries. A Capital is usually the biggest city in a country. I have
been to Washington D.C and Al Riyadh, they both are cities from two different countries which are the
United States and Saudi Arabia. we can compare and contrast both cities in terms of food, weather,
and festivals.
To begin with the similarity, DC and Al Riyadh are both big capital cities because as I mentioned
above usually a capital is the big city in the country. You can find in the both cities the government
and high authority branches ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

have a vacation on this day and most of the people celebrate with their friends family and enjoy
watching fireworks. In Riyadh there are only two special festivals, Eid Al Fitter which comes after
Ramadan all Muslims celebrate this special holiday because it is in their religion, the wear new clothes
and go to the mosque to pray in the morning and after that they visit their friends and families and go
back home to wait for an guests to come. Eid Al Adha, is the second special holiday and it comes in
the 10th day of Eid Al Haj and we sacrifice a sheep and volunteer to poor people meat.
To sum up, each capital has similar and different traditions. There is a huge difference between these
two capitals D.C and Al Riyadh more than the similarities. However, capital cities have a prominent
place in the countries. I have been to both capitals and I think D.C has most spectacular places, and

The Negative Effects Of Spanish Colonization In Latin America
Spain s original goal was to come to Latin America to create wealth and spread
Christianity to the people. What happened instead was 350 years of Spanish rule that resulted in
social, political, and economic changes for the native people. The changes were both negative and
positive. Colonization helped the countries become unified under one language and religion. However,
Spanish colonization had a negative impact by creating more poverty and discrimination toward the
native people. The native people faced discrimination and inequality that caused an increase in
poverty and an income gap that still exists today. How can the gap between the rich and the poor be
closed?
The majority of Spanish people who settled in Latin America were looking for a way to increase their
wealth. They saw the native people as a source of labor they could use to complete tasks. If the natives
refused they would have the conquistadors force them. The
Spanish thought they were helping the native people by teaching them Spanish language and the
Catholic religion. In reality, the Spanish saw the native people not as good as them and treated like
slaves. The Spanish did not see them as equals and took away their human rights.
As the Spanish began to settle in Latin America, they brought with them diseases that began to kill of
the native people. Diseases such as small pox and typhus caused a decline in the native population.
The diseases reduced the native population by almost 70 percent. As a result, the Spanish lost a great
deal of their labor force. The Spanish looked for another way to get their work done. The solution they
found was to import slaves from Africa to replace the work being done by the natives. The Africa
slaves were used mostly in the sugar plantations and in Fitzgerald 2 the mines. The addition of the
African people changed the social hierarchy and a new mix of races and classes to Latin America.
The creation of interracial groups created a social hierarchy known as castes. At the top of the
hierarchy were the Spanish people who were born in Spain. The next class was the
Spanish people born in Latin America. The next level of the hierarchy was the people who were half
Spanish and half native. The next level of the

Should Photojournalism or Documentary Photography Be...
A photograph is not merely a substitute for a glance. It is a sharpened vision. It is the revelation of
new and important facts. ( Heilbrunn Timeline of Art History. ). Sid Grossman, a Photo League
photographer expressed this sentiment, summarizing the role photography had on America in the 1940
s and 50 s. During this era, photojournalism climaxed, causing photographers to join the bandwagon
or react against it. The question of whether photography can be art was settled a long time ago. Most
major museums now have photography departments, and the photographs procure pretty hefty prices.
The question of whether photojournalism or documentary photography can be art is now the question
at hand. Art collectors are constantly looking ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He felt that FSA photographers used stylistic elements such as sharp focus, even lighting, and frontal
composition to mark their images as factual and that they should be read as unbiased. He felt that the
work should be described as documentary style.
American photographers of the late 1950 s and 60 s reinvented the documentary tradition.
Photographers like Diane Arbus, Garry Winogrand, and lee Friedlander looked at the world through
the astonish me viewpoint. Diane Nemerove, or better known as Diane Arbus, was an American
Documentary Photographer known for her compelling, yet often disturbing portraits of people from
the edges of society. An example is the 1962 image of The Boy with the Hand Grenade in Central
Park. As a native New Yorker, Diane Arbus photographed the people of the city, but not just the
everyday. Arbus sought out those at the edge of society. She depicts the daily life, but with an
emphasis on the abnormality of the commonplace. When looking at the image of the boy in 1962, the
child seems no different from other children; his facial expression communicating a frustration beyond
the specific image. You see a boy with the strap of his shorts awkwardly hanging from his shoulder,
with his arms tense and his hands clenched in frustration; a toy replica hand grenade in his

Nfl s New York Giants And San 49ers
It s part of the game... Until it s you. Wide receiver Mario Manningham, who has played for the NFL s
New York Giants and San Francisco 49ers, spoke these jarring words in response to commentary by
other players around the league indicating their beliefs that vicious, helmet to helmet hits are simply
part of the game (Battista). For many years, this view, in which concussions are actually considered to
be good in the way that they show one s toughness and dedication to football, has been shared by
many players and coaches throughout the league. The generally short length of the effects of
concussions (or at least the immediate effects) and the frequency at which they happen have
contributed to this dangerously careless perception of the ailment, to the point that some players
would be more likely to consider retirement due to a foot injury than due to a head injury ( AP survey:
Concussions not most ). Additionally, the lack of response to concussions by the National Football
League, revealed in a 2012 lawsuit filed against it by former players affected by concussions,
exacerbates the issue, along with their past attempts to hide the severity of concussions from players.
This view of concussions is extremely concerning, and while the NFL has taken steps forward
regarding concussion prevention and response through fines and regulations, improvement of the
players awareness of concussions, stricter responses to concussions by the league, and increased
support of players who

The Importance Of Continence
Introduction
Throughout the history of religion, there have been men who have done remarkable deeds for the
world. For example, St. Augustine, accepted the calling of God to be his disciple, he left everything to
serve and live in Jesus Christ. He has wrote a prestigious work to his community to correct their
mistaken beliefs . His intelligence penetrates all areas, he could even penetrate very deeply the of
message of St. Paul in his letter to the Galatians 2.19 20.
In this essay, I will investigate the importance of continence, and the meaning of this in the Christian
point of view, and also how this served as the motivation for his writing.

Now, even though, it is not easy to fight against sin, we have the weapons of grace that Christ gives us
to overcome the hardships of sin. Then, this configuration makes us join to Christ deeply, that we are
no longer ones who act instead it is Christ who acts in us. Moreover, Augustine believed that it is
possible to recover by the way of the renunciation of the lust of the flesh. St Augustine also
understood the teachings of St. Paul when he said, I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer
live, but Christ lives in me Augustine considers that God waited for him to renounce the pleasures of
the flesh. The body becomes an obstacle in accessing God, because nothing can be known of God
through the senses of the flesh. On the other hand, Augustine knew of his miseries, and that sins are
the ways in which pleasure and evil are tied, but he knew nothing of the joy that is produced by the
renunciation that is proposed in the name of God. Therefore, he became an instrument of Christ, and
offered his sexuality in sacrifice.
The writing of St. Augustine on continence was directed not only against the negative opinions of the
Manicheans. We may have to understand that St. Augustine wrote about continence to correct those
heresies about sexuality, when he realized himself that he was wrong about those doctrines that almost
brought his soul to the abyss. He then

The Issues Of Canada s Telecommunications Industry
On many occasions, Canada s telecommunications industry has been criticized for being inefficiently
competitive. Claims have been made by the critics of Canada s wireless sector that there needs to be
additional regulation to create more competition, lower prices and improve service quality. In doing
so, the Canadian federal government has used these criticisms to their advantage in order to justify
interventionist spectrum allocation policies and advocate for additional regulation of the wireless
sector (Masse Beaudry, May 2014). In the fall of 2013, the government even took the unusual step of
launching a $9 million ad campaign aimed at publicizing its efforts to support greater competition in
the wireless sector and to convince the public of the need to intervene (National Post, December 3,
2013). The telecommunications industry has conducted many lobbying efforts against government
intervention and tried to manage public perception around this controversial issue. Furthermore, this
essay discusses that the federal government is not acting in the public interest. The government is
displaying a positive as opposed to normative stance. The government should allow the market to
determine services and the telecommunications industry to control resources. If intervention should
take place, it should be done with public interest in mind and not with fabricated policies which harm,
instead of help, consumers and the telecommunications industry.
How can competition in the

Strength Of Exhibition
Museums are places of learning and it would be a matter of time that they would tackle exhibits that
would make people unconformable. There are many topics that people find unconformable for
example slavery or the horrifying event of the Holocaust. These types of topics have emotional ties to
them that if they are done wrong could cause outrage with the public. They have to be handling with
care so not offend people especially if they are live through the event like the holocaust or had family
that were in slavery. There are strengths and limitation of these types of topics that make people
unconformable in the exhibit type of educations which includes living history performance. In the
paragraph below I will talk about the strength and weakness of the types of exhibition. Some of the
strengths of an exhibition of unconformable topics so long as they are handled with respect and care.
If they are done right they can have a huge impact on the viewer of the exhibition. An example of the
strength of these types of exhibitions would be exhibitions on the Holocaust all over the world where
they tell the stories of the people that who were prosecuted by the Nazi. The visitor would be able to

Some of these limitations are that people do not to be confronted with this these type of topic and will
act negatively to the exhibition. If you go too far with your exhibit it could cause public outrage.
Another limitation would have to be Living history performance and the limitation is that people will
see it as performance and not as history that actually happen in the past. Some people see living
history place like an amusement park and may not take the topic that is unconformable to public like
slavery seriously or think that it just part of the

In the globalization era, there are several major trends that affect to the roles of purchasing manager.
As emerging markets assume a greater role in the global economy, the traditional demand and supply
poles that have shaped global commerce over the last 50 years will change dramatically. More and
more global company will have their purchasing managers based in China, India or Brazil. The

procurement teams to have a diverse workforce that will be more relevant to local social and cultural
dictates. In the transparent world, the procurement organizations to go far beyond corporate social
responsibility and must have a multidimensional approach to managing the supply chain. We cannot
forget the foundation factors of purchasing organization including information system, finance and
risk. As big data is increasingly intertwined into corporate decision making processes, the purchasing
manager will need to become more comfortable with advanced data mining and analysis techniques.
They will also need to develop financial acumen that rivals those of their finance counterparts to build

There are a plethora of factors that shape a social class system within a specific community. The
bigger the area, like the country of Mexico for example, there are more factors that come into play
when looking at the structure of the social institutions. The main factor I focused my research on was
development in Mexico. Was there a correlation between the development of the country s economy
and social inequalities in Mexico? To understand the links between the economy and the social sector
of Mexico, one has to look at the history of development. It is necessary to analyze how the

same oppression and exploitation that most of the third world faced. Right after the end of colonialism
the Mexican economy stagnated and even declined (Cardoso, Faletto 39). Silver production was half

Use Of Penelope s Voice In The Odyssey

Justice
No Truth in Story telling
Margaret Atwood gives voice to Penelope, one of antiquity s most infamous heroines, so that she can
tell her story at last and set the record straight once and for all (Canongate). The quotation printed at
the back of The Penelopiad gives a concise motivation why Margaret Atwood writes the book:
Atwood uses Penelope s voice to tell the readers how she is wronged in Homer s Odyssey. Although
the narrator Penelope dominates the book, the twelve hanged maids also interpose their own opinion
in prose and rhymes. However, it is not hard for the readers to find out that the two perspectives
contradict one another, the maids voice is often used as a counterpoint to Penelope s, when it comes to
why the maids are hanged. Since The Penelopiad is all about Penelope, then why does Atwood
employ the maids voice which causes ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the mornings, our eyes darkened by lack of sleep, we d exchange smiles of complicity, and here and

From the vivid description of how close Penelope and the maids are, it can be seen that Penelope does
not only treat the maids with superiority, but also Penelope truly treats and loves the maids as if they
were sisters. Later, according to Penelope, when the suitors come, Penelope assigns the maids to be
her spies by ingratiating themselves with the suitors. When comes the turning point that Penelope
decides to tell the returning, furious Odysseus all about the plan, she is drugged to sleep. It was my
fault! (160). Throughout the whole book, Penelope frequently expresses her sorrow and dismay about
the hanging of the maids. It is as if Penelope herself were a victim in the hanging of the maids, she is
helpless and heartbroken when Odysseus kills her sister like

Low carbon fuel standards are rapidly becoming an part of the national debate over how to reduce
greenhouse gas emissions. Transport system plays a vital role in the increased greenhouse gases.
Increase in number of vehicles has increased the carbon emission rapidly. A pie chart gives you the
information about the total amount of CO2 emission by different sector in 2010. Electricity, heat
generation and transport system are the three major systems accounted for 63% of total CO2 emission

Character Analysis Of Scrooge In A Christmas Carol
Jim Rohn a famous author, motivational speaker once said Your life does not get better by chance, but
by chance. Not once was someone ever brought up perfect and no not one person changed to die

you. Scrooge who was a character in the play, A Christmas Carol, Scrooge didn t take upon himself to
see how himself and others suffer, and was a grouchey, mean, dark souled man. But as the quote in the
beginning the meaning it puts through describes Scrooge, and how he changes to be the good person it

In the beginning of the play, A Christmas Carol, Scrooge was grouchey, mean, dark soaled. For
example a direct quote from Scrooge to Fred states Bah! Humbug! . Scrooge continues to show this
behavior when talking to the Gentleman Visitor he says, Liberty? No doubt of it? Alright, Alright, I
can read..What do you want? . Scrooge continues to show bad character traits when he says Be here

Essay on Apollo Program
Michael Penwarden Phillip Whitworth 6/20/13 Senior paper No nation which expects to be the leader
of other nations can expect to stay behind in this race for space...We choose to go to the Moon in this
decade and do the other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard. John F. Kennedy.
The Apollo missions had one main goal, to land on the moon and get back to earth safely. Apollo was
the third space flight program after Project Gemini and Project Mercury, flown by NASA (National
Astronautics and Space Administration). The program started in 1967 and was able to land humans on
the moon by 1972. The Apollo missions had important effects on technologies and the nation as a
result of Kennedy s dream to put a man on the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It was launched July 5, 1966. (NASA) Apollo 4 was still an unmanned mission but it was given the
name Apollo back. During this mission the objectives where to demonstrate structural integrity and
operations needed for launch and recovery. The flight lasted nine hours and landed 16km off target. It
successfully demonstrated the heat shield at lunar re entry speeds. It was launched November 9, 1967.
(NASA) The Apollo 5 mission was used to verify operations of the lunar module and evaluate descent
propulsion systems. There was no Apollo capsule on this flight and no recovery; it was just testing the
rocket. It was launched June 22, 1968. (NASA) Apollo 6 was the second flight of Saturn V; Saturn V
was a type of rocket that they used. Problems occurred with vibrations when they caused two second
stage engines to shut down early. The third stage engine also failed and achieved high speed entry
speeds. The problems with vibrations where fixed thus Saturn V was deemed safe for human. It was
launched April 4, 1968. (NASA) Apollo 7 was very important; it was the first manned mission after
the fire. It was also the first real flight due to Apollo 1 burning pre launch. The launch was
broadcasted live on TV and was very important because it proved America s legitimate space program.
The flight went off without a hitch and landed safely. The astronauts of Apollo 7 were Walter Schirra
as commander, R. Walter Cunningham as lunar module pilot, and Donn F.

History Of Mathematica Policy Research ( Mpr ) And Two...
Introduction
Mathematica Policy Research (MPR) and two consultants, Leigh Linden and Harounan Kazianga,
conducted an independent evaluation of the Millennium Challenge Corporation s (MCC) two year
threshold compact in Burkina Faso, which was aimed at increasing educational attainment for primary
aged girls. The goal of the Burkinabé Response to Improve Girls Chances to Succeed (BRIGHT)
program, implemented from 2005 to 2008, was to improve the educational outcomes of primary
school students by targeting enrollment rates, and math and French scores. MPR et al (2009) evaluated
whether or not the impact was the same for both boys and girls. Key findings of the BRIGHT
intervention include: (1) primary student enrollment increased by 20 percentage points, (2) math and
French test scores increased by 0.4 standard deviations, and (3) a positive impact for both boys and
girls.
Program Background
Desite mandatory school enrollment and free primary schools, Burkina Fas still has some of the
lowest primary school enrollment rates in West Africa. Prior to BRIGHT, the national government
began pushing primary school enrollment by constructing new schools and implementing various new
programs. Gross enrollment increased from 12 percent in 1970 to 56 percent in 2005; however, these
numbers did not show the urban rural disparities.
BRIGHT was designed to increase school enrollment and improve the educational attainment of
primary school children in villages where girls enrollment

Scopophilia
Literature review.
The media has changed significantly over the past decades. Technology has modified our abilities to
expand our communication network, and it allows companies to spread their commercials over many
different continents. Research done by Roberts (1993) shows that adolescent and children are often
very influenced by media that involves sexual or violent conduct. This research is based on media
involving children and adolescents, however this does not eliminate the effect media has on adults
(Singer Singer, 2001, p. 269).
Over the past decades, media has constructed and manipulated women into being the main form of
sexual pleasure for the male viewer. Pleasure in looking, scopophilia, is one of many possible types of

The woman can merely be a narcissistic projection that comes from the male, unconsciously. Robert J.
Stoller stated that Fetishizing is the norm of males, not for females , (Valerie Steel, 1996) Meaning
that females are not interested in body parts and sexy outfits in the same way men are. Fetishistic
imagery is divided into three different types: the first is a woman with a phallic substitute, secondly, a
woman without a phallus usually intimidated or mocked by women with a phallus and last, a woman
as the phallus.
In fetishistic imagery, the true focus is always the phallus, and not the woman itself. Men attain most
pleasure from viewing voyeurism and fetishistic imagery because the men starts to feel more control
and power of their own lives because the men identify themselves with the male protagonist. (Gaines,
1990.)
Stated in Fetish: Fashion, Sex Power (Valerie Steel, 1996), many feminists interpret fetish as a
symptom of patriarchy and capitalism, where the fetishist is always male and the female becomes the
fetish itself, the perfect object. Fetishism is described as glorifying by some, however others would
describe it as something negative, where the woman s desire has disappeared.
Women in films are usually portrayed as dependent to the male characters and it would therefor not be
very likely that females would experience pleasure from looking at a female character that is
influenced and dependent of the male characters, however studies show that women

The Aspects About My Cultural Identity

The Aspects About My Culture That Make Me Who I Am
Cultural identity can be many different things. The clothes you wear, the food you eat, the places you

my case i have two which is American and Indian. Culture can be defined in many different ways.
Some may say it s the food you eat,the clothes you wear, or even the places you go. If you look at the

Barry Meer s Claims
In this passage I do not think Barry Meier, the author supports his claim made in the title. The author
gives all the opposite reasons to support his claim like rats injected with an energy drink can swim
longer than those who don t, another one is if you drink the drink at the right time it can improve your
athletic ability, and taurine, a drug found in energy drinks was given to the Japanese Navy at night to
sharpen eye vision and reduce fatigue. The author gives the wrong reasons to believe that energy
drinks don t work. He gave evidence of a scientific experiment that involves injecting rats with energy
drink and the rats swim longer that the ones who are not injected. The experiment he gave totally goes

The sugar found in drinks do give a quick boost of energy and totally goes against his claim. The next
example is if you drink the drink at the right time it can improve your athletic ability. Barry Meier also
states ̈Caffeine, a stimulant increases alertness, awareness, and if taken at the right time, improves
athletic performance, studies show ̈. A study shows that all these things can happen if you drink
caffeine. That statement totally throws his claim out because his claim is saying that energy drinks do
not work like they promise. The last example is that the Japanese Imperial Navy were given taurine, a
drug found in some energy drinks so it reduces fatigue and sharpen their eye vision at night. Barry
Meier states in his passage ̈ A formula that is so effective in treating unexplained fevers, neuralgia,
fatigue, whooping cough and other conditions for which there is no drug is very rare needed. ̈ The
drug is used to treat fatigue, which is when people are tired. Taurine helps people get more awake with
less fatigue so it helps people get more energy from it. In conclusion the barry Meier does not get his
claim enough evidence and the wrong evidence to believe that energy drinks don t give you energy.

Masculinity In Moonlight
Music plays in the background as a blue vintage car pulls into a driveway. The car stops, and so does
the music. The driver, a middle aged black man tosses a pack of cigarettes on the dashboard and steps
out of the car. This is the opening scene of Moonlight, written by Barry Jenkins and Tarrell Alvin
McCraney. Moonlight follows Chiron, an African American boy throughout three periods of his life,
portrayed by three different acts: Little, Chiron and Black. It is a film that influenced my perspective
on African American social life on multiple levels, specifically the presence of hyper masculinity, the
view on sexuality and the drugs in struggling communities. Moonlight is one of the few glimpses I ve
had of primarily black communities, and certainly the first glimpse of a gay African American boy
growing up in a black community I have seen in any form of mainstream media.
Prior to watching this movie, I didn t know much about many aspects of African American social life
in regards to sexuality, drugs and hyper masculinity. I thought that it was more or less similar to the
views on sexuality and hyper masculinity I have witnessed in my own life. The mainstream views on
masculinity and sexuality (specifically in boys) I have witnessed are primarily that being masculine is
a positive trait for boys, and that if one is not at least slightly masculine, they are either gay or joking.
In regards to the presence of drugs in struggling black communities, I only know of what I hear

My Mask Research Paper
My mask features materials such as white tissue paper, pearl balls, silver glitter, sparkly paper, silver
flowers and silver pen. These materials were used on my mask to give it a bright and pure white look.
Masks were worn at masquerade balls for the purpose of hiding ones true identity, wearing a mask like
this would give the illusion that the wearer was perfect, or angelic. Except, for around the eyes where I
also used a black marker and red glitter glue for the pattern on there. Generally the only recognisable
feature on someones face while wearing a mask, are the eyes. Which happens to be the darkest part of
the mask. Therefor, the mask is saying that beneath this pure and plain mask, is a flawed person, a real
person.

The Effectiveness Of Racial Profiling
Imagine you get shot because of your skin color. Your skin color that you can t change. For that reason
you get killed or discriminated. Racial profiling is a practice that some law enforcement use when it
comes to someone being suspicious because of their race, ethnicity and religion. In 2004, 32 million
people reported that they were unfairly singled out by law enforcement because of their race,
according to a new Amnesty International report (Goyette). One example of racial profiling is when
9/11 happened, Muslims have been more likely to be questioned more in airports. Historically
speaking, racial profiling has been around since the 1700 s in the United States and it still a problem
because innocent people are being targeted based on ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Racial profiling is already illegal in some states because it goes against the the US constitution when it
promises equal protection under the law. But that doesn t stop them from doing it. There has been
steps that have been taken by some police departments to try to eliminate racial profiling. For
example, the Berkeley police department put out a policy on reducing racial profiling and training the
cops and different procedures to limit racial profiling. Also in San Diego, they enacted a way to limit
racial profiling by putting in cameras so they can video record cops communicating with the people
who got pulled over. Another way people see as a solution is to hire more female law enforcement.
Hiring more female law enforcement will help because they are less likely to use force against
someone and they when that happens, they re departments cost less because they don t get sued. A
study done by the National Center for Women in policing states that The average male officer is two to
three times more likely than the average female officer to have a citizen name him in a complaint of
excessive force. (Lonsway 2). The fact is saying that the average male officer is more likely to use
force and have a complaint than the average

The Importance Of America s Unalienable Rights In The...
Government has the capability to alter the United States to meet their standards. They change the
United States in several ways, but what they cannot change and take full control over are Americans
unalienable rights. Unalienable rights have also been known as God given rights, which means that
they cannot be given or taken away by the government. In The Declaration of Independence by
Thomas Jefferson, he takes John Locke s theory of live, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness to express
how unalienable rights gives Americans the chance to live their lives freely. Americans live their lives
however they want to. They have the ability to expresses themselves, because unalienable rights gives

Verizon Argument Analysis
Verizon has a new commercial where the whole ad is based on the slogan half fast internet. Go ahead,
say it out loud. The entire commercial s dialogue has various people, mostly families, including a
mother in front of her child, saying half fast instead of half a$$ed. Clearly, Verizon hopes that a funny
play on word expression, not normally allowed in commercials, will drive sales. The idea of the
commercial series is that most broadband providers have slow upload speeds, making them only half
fast. So, the actors in the commercial complain of the half fast job their Internet is doing when they are
posting pictures or music to the Web. The commercials are highly amusing and certainly stick with the
consumer whether they like or dislike the content. Many blogs and posts on the internet express that

these devices are only as good as the network they are on. They boast to be the network with the most

Honest In Shakespeare s Othello
Honest in love is one of the most important themes in Othello. Othello s love to Desdemona has a lot
of challenges that he has to defeat to be with her Othello finds love in his marriage but needs more
time to build trust, but his opponent works too fast for him to take that time. The immediate attraction
between the couple works on passion and Desdemona builds on that passion as she feels for Othello.
Although iago jealousy he was capable of manipulating, brain washing, and untruthfully all others
characters to satisfy his need for revenge against Othello.
From the very beginning of the story Iago manipulates Roderigo by saying that Desdemona likes him
and Desdemona may run away from Othello and go with him. He makes Barbantio angry by telling
him about their elopement then lying about the consummation of their relationship that Othello and
Desdemona have. He then leaves Roderigo to take responsibility for his Iago s actions. For the time
being, he goes off to advice Othello that Roderigo is accountable for telling Barbantio about the
relationship and saying awful things about Othello. Iago once ... Show more content on

  • 2. Persuasive Essay On Wild Nature Wild nature is home for a huge number of animal varieties, a significant number of which are exotic or near extinction. Throughout recent decades, mankind has attempted to prevent the extinction of these creatures, secure the territory of these species, and by one means or another, minimize the negative consequences of the presence of humans. Be that as it may, there is another issue that has not been given careful consideration to this issue is keeping these outlandish creatures as pets. Although the caregivers of these pets believe they are doing no harm, in fact such a practice should be prohibited due to a number of reasons that not only endanger the animal, but also the person. In reality, no one, aside from maybe the wealthiest individuals, can provide for a wild creature and give it all its essential needs. Exotic creatures have extraordinary requirements. For instance, wild tigers require a substantial domain to wander and roam in with large amounts of fresh meat. A venomous Monocled cobra, which can be lawfully purchased in various states for a weak $100, will over and over strike when feeling in danger, the snake can feel threatened for multiple reason and most are unidentified until bitten. In a different category, a bobcat can chase its prey eight times greater than itself with the will and potential to rip its target to shreds. Chimpanzees and different primates require a ton of room for climbing, as well as ocean warm blooded creatures that require tremendous water bowls to swim and drink. Overall, the amount of time, dedication, and most importantly space, is too great for an ordinary individual to maintain. In addition to cleaning and entering the enclosed habitats, it is much too dangerous for a common being to provide and withhold. Along with the everyday dangers of exotic animals, these animals might also have serious diseases that the caretaker may be completely oblivious to. For example, the monkeypox outbreak that affected dozens of people in the Midwest in 2003 was so uncontrolled and unknown it almost became an epidemic. Also, many of these animals are carriers of zoonotic diseases, such as Herpes B, Rabies, Salmonella, Rabies, and Monkeypox, all of which are communicable ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Epilogue About Mama Chapter One As the noon sun faded into afternoon shadows, a gentle summer breeze rustled the white silk curtains as Mama and I sat at the dining table with the turkey platter between us. I remember the sweet smell of Honeysuckle filled the air, as I watched Mama gently trace every broken piece of the platter with her fingertip that was set in glue, now hardened and yellowed by time. For a bit, she just sat there looking at the old thing until her eyes brimmed with tears. When I reached out to comfort her, she looked up with a faraway smile (buried somewhere in the past) and said, I m okay baby sweet memories always make me cry. Then she began to share the sweetest memory of all. Mama said that when she was a very young child, her ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Mama said that she remembered their noses were the first indication that they were close to Dutch and Stevie s farm, You could smell Grandma s cooking miles away. We were always starved from the long buggy ride anyway almost thirty miles over hard, wagon worn dirt roads. Back then, that was a long way. But to have to sit in that buggy and smell Grandma s cooking all those miles well, it was almost too much for a human to bear! By the time we got there, we were so hungry that it was all we could do to get the hellos, hugs and kisses out of the way so we could eat. I chuckled (I could relate) because that s exactly how I felt about Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner. Just talking about it, Mama said, takes me back to those gentle rolling hills in East Texas, with its peaceful valleys and quiet streams. And when it snowed, she got a faraway look in her eyes, When it snowed it was heaven! Mama described their journey so beautifully that I envisioned a winter wonderland filled with enchanted mystery that I could see in my mind as clearly as I could see the white, silk curtains rustling over the living room windows to the kiss of a gentle breeze. • 4. The Hardest Thing In Sport Essay To some college students playing college sports is everything including the reason why some even attend college. There are a lot of different sports students can play in college but there is none harder than baseball... or is it softball? There has been a long time debate about which sport is harder. Is hitting a baseball the hardest thing to do in sports or is hitting a fast pitch softball the hardest thing in sports to do? Ted Williams the famous baseball player once said the toughest thing in sports is hitting a round ball with a round bat . He was definitely right about that, but I think he could have been a little more precise with his statement. The toughest thing in sports is to hit a round ball with a round bat, when the round ball is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When a baseball is pitched there is a downward arc due to the throwing motion of the pitcher. When a softball is thrown hard it can rise up as it approaches the plate, which makes it more difficult to hit. According to the online publication Sports Engineering, titled Modeling Pitch Trajectories in Fast Pitch Softball , there are scientific formulas that determine pitch trajectories, lift, drag, and other pitch factors which, in turn, could affect the strategies used in each game that a player needs to be successful. To investigate these and other aspects of fastpitch softball pitches, a model based on Newton s equation is presented that simulates their motion. By assuming reasonable values for the angle, speed and height off the ground of a softball as it leaves the pitcher s hand, we compute and display the trajectories of rise balls, drop balls and curve balls. The model is then used to predict an upper bound on the lift coefficient of a fastpitch softball and show that this bound agrees with experimental data. The model also predicts the launch angles necessary for various pitches to pass through the strike zone, as well as a value of the drag coefficient which is consistent with experimental data. Using the time analysis of a batter s swing presented by Adair, we then discuss when a given pitch has a good chance of fooling a batter into starting her swing before she can accurately assess the trajectory ... • 6. The Negative Effects Of Spanish Colonization In Latin America Spain s original goal was to come to Latin America to create wealth and spread Christianity to the people. What happened instead was 350 years of Spanish rule that resulted in social, political, and economic changes for the native people. The changes were both negative and positive. Colonization helped the countries become unified under one language and religion. However, Spanish colonization had a negative impact by creating more poverty and discrimination toward the native people. The native people faced discrimination and inequality that caused an increase in poverty and an income gap that still exists today. How can the gap between the rich and the poor be closed? The majority of Spanish people who settled in Latin America were looking for a way to increase their wealth. They saw the native people as a source of labor they could use to complete tasks. If the natives refused they would have the conquistadors force them. The Spanish thought they were helping the native people by teaching them Spanish language and the Catholic religion. In reality, the Spanish saw the native people not as good as them and treated like slaves. The Spanish did not see them as equals and took away their human rights. As the Spanish began to settle in Latin America, they brought with them diseases that began to kill of the native people. Diseases such as small pox and typhus caused a decline in the native population. The diseases reduced the native population by almost 70 percent. As a result, the Spanish lost a great deal of their labor force. The Spanish looked for another way to get their work done. The solution they found was to import slaves from Africa to replace the work being done by the natives. The Africa slaves were used mostly in the sugar plantations and in Fitzgerald 2 the mines. The addition of the African people changed the social hierarchy and a new mix of races and classes to Latin America. The creation of interracial groups created a social hierarchy known as castes. At the top of the hierarchy were the Spanish people who were born in Spain. The next class was the Spanish people born in Latin America. The next level of the hierarchy was the people who were half Spanish and half native. The next level of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 8. Should Photojournalism or Documentary Photography Be... A photograph is not merely a substitute for a glance. It is a sharpened vision. It is the revelation of new and important facts. ( Heilbrunn Timeline of Art History. ). Sid Grossman, a Photo League photographer expressed this sentiment, summarizing the role photography had on America in the 1940 s and 50 s. During this era, photojournalism climaxed, causing photographers to join the bandwagon or react against it. The question of whether photography can be art was settled a long time ago. Most major museums now have photography departments, and the photographs procure pretty hefty prices. The question of whether photojournalism or documentary photography can be art is now the question at hand. Art collectors are constantly looking ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He felt that FSA photographers used stylistic elements such as sharp focus, even lighting, and frontal composition to mark their images as factual and that they should be read as unbiased. Photographers like Diane Arbus, Garry Winogrand, and lee Friedlander looked at the world through the astonish me viewpoint. Diane Nemerove, or better known as Diane Arbus, was an American Documentary Photographer known for her compelling, yet often disturbing portraits of people from the edges of society. An example is the 1962 image of The Boy with the Hand Grenade in Central Park. As a native New Yorker, Diane Arbus photographed the people of the city, but not just the everyday. Arbus sought out those at the edge of society. She depicts the daily life, but with an emphasis on the abnormality of the commonplace. When looking at the image of the boy in 1962, the child seems no different from other children; his facial expression communicating a frustration beyond the specific image. Wide receiver Mario Manningham, who has played for the NFL s New York Giants and San Francisco 49ers, spoke these jarring words in response to commentary by other players around the league indicating their beliefs that vicious, helmet to helmet hits are simply part of the game (Battista). For many years, this view, in which concussions are actually considered to be good in the way that they show one s toughness and dedication to football, has been shared by many players and coaches throughout the league. The generally short length of the effects of concussions (or at least the immediate effects) and the frequency at which they happen have contributed to this dangerously careless perception of the ailment, to the point that some players would be more likely to consider retirement due to a foot injury than due to a head injury ( AP survey: Concussions not most ). Additionally, the lack of response to concussions by the National Football League, revealed in a 2012 lawsuit filed against it by former players affected by concussions, exacerbates the issue, along with their past attempts to hide the severity of concussions from players. This view of concussions is extremely concerning, and while the NFL has taken steps forward regarding concussion prevention and response through fines and regulations, improvement of the players awareness of concussions, stricter responses to concussions by the league, and increased support of players who ... • 10. The Importance Of Continence Introduction Throughout the history of religion, there have been men who have done remarkable deeds for the world. For example, St. Augustine, accepted the calling of God to be his disciple, he left everything to serve and live in Jesus Christ. He has wrote a prestigious work to his community to correct their mistaken beliefs . His intelligence penetrates all areas, he could even penetrate very deeply the of message of St. Paul in his letter to the Galatians 2.19 20. In this essay, I will investigate the importance of continence, and the meaning of this in the Christian point of view, and also how this served as the motivation for his writing. Now, even though, it is not easy to fight against sin, we have the weapons of grace that Christ gives us to overcome the hardships of sin. Then, this configuration makes us join to Christ deeply, that we are no longer ones who act instead it is Christ who acts in us. Moreover, Augustine believed that it is possible to recover by the way of the renunciation of the lust of the flesh. St Augustine also understood the teachings of St. Paul when he said, I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me Augustine considers that God waited for him to renounce the pleasures of the flesh. The body becomes an obstacle in accessing God, because nothing can be known of God through the senses of the flesh. On the other hand, Augustine knew of his miseries, and that sins are the ways in which pleasure and evil are tied, but he knew nothing of the joy that is produced by the renunciation that is proposed in the name of God. Therefore, he became an instrument of Christ, and offered his sexuality in sacrifice. The writing of St. Augustine on continence was directed not only against the negative opinions of the Manicheans. We may have to understand that St. Augustine wrote about continence to correct those heresies about sexuality, when he realized himself that he was wrong about those doctrines that almost brought his soul to the abyss. • 11. The Issues Of Canada s Telecommunications Industry On many occasions, Canada s telecommunications industry has been criticized for being inefficiently competitive. Claims have been made by the critics of Canada s wireless sector that there needs to be additional regulation to create more competition, lower prices and improve service quality. In doing so, the Canadian federal government has used these criticisms to their advantage in order to justify interventionist spectrum allocation policies and advocate for additional regulation of the wireless sector (Masse Beaudry, May 2014). In the fall of 2013, the government even took the unusual step of launching a $9 million ad campaign aimed at publicizing its efforts to support greater competition in the wireless sector and to convince the public of the need to intervene (National Post, December 3, 2013). The telecommunications industry has conducted many lobbying efforts against government intervention and tried to manage public perception around this controversial issue. Furthermore, this essay discusses that the federal government is not acting in the public interest. The government is displaying a positive as opposed to normative stance. The government should allow the market to determine services and the telecommunications industry to control resources. If intervention should take place, it should be done with public interest in mind and not with fabricated policies which harm, instead of help, consumers and the telecommunications industry. There are many topics that people find unconformable for example slavery or the horrifying event of the Holocaust. These types of topics have emotional ties to them that if they are done wrong could cause outrage with the public. They have to be handling with care so not offend people especially if they are live through the event like the holocaust or had family that were in slavery. There are strengths and limitation of these types of topics that make people unconformable in the exhibit type of educations which includes living history performance. In the paragraph below I will talk about the strength and weakness of the types of exhibition. Some of the strengths of an exhibition of unconformable topics so long as they are handled with respect and care. If they are done right they can have a huge impact on the viewer of the exhibition. An example of the strength of these types of exhibitions would be exhibitions on the Holocaust all over the world where they tell the stories of the people that who were prosecuted by the Nazi. The bigger the area, like the country of Mexico for example, there are more factors that come into play when looking at the structure of the social institutions. Mexico s people faced the same oppression and exploitation that most of the third world faced. Right after the end of colonialism the Mexican economy stagnated and even declined (Cardoso, Faletto 39). Silver production was half that of the colonial period. This led to the search of loans (40). Use Of Penelope s Voice In The Odyssey Lingyan Xie Justice No Truth in Story telling Margaret Atwood gives voice to Penelope, one of antiquity s most infamous heroines, so that she can tell her story at last and set the record straight once and for all (Canongate). The quotation printed at the back of The Penelopiad gives a concise motivation why Margaret Atwood writes the book: Atwood uses Penelope s voice to tell the readers how she is wronged in Homer s Odyssey. Although the narrator Penelope dominates the book, the twelve hanged maids also interpose their own opinion in prose and rhymes. However, it is not hard for the readers to find out that the two perspectives contradict one another, the maids voice is often used as a counterpoint to Penelope s, when it comes to why the maids are hanged. Introduction Mathematica Policy Research (MPR) and two consultants, Leigh Linden and Harounan Kazianga, conducted an independent evaluation of the Millennium Challenge Corporation s (MCC) two year threshold compact in Burkina Faso, which was aimed at increasing educational attainment for primary aged girls. The goal of the Burkinabé Response to Improve Girls Chances to Succeed (BRIGHT) program, implemented from 2005 to 2008, was to improve the educational outcomes of primary school students by targeting enrollment rates, and math and French scores. MPR et al (2009) evaluated whether or not the impact was the same for both boys and girls. Key findings of the BRIGHT intervention include: (1) primary student enrollment increased by 20 percentage points, (2) math and French test scores increased by 0.4 standard deviations, and (3) a positive impact for both boys and girls. Program Background Desite mandatory school enrollment and free primary schools, Burkina Fas still has some of the lowest primary school enrollment rates in West Africa. Prior to BRIGHT, the national government began pushing primary school enrollment by constructing new schools and implementing various new programs. Gross enrollment increased from 12 percent in 1970 to 56 percent in 2005; however, these numbers did not show the urban rural disparities. The woman can merely be a narcissistic projection that comes from the male, unconsciously. Robert J. Stoller stated that Fetishizing is the norm of males, not for females , (Valerie Steel, 1996) Meaning that females are not interested in body parts and sexy outfits in the same way men are. Fetishistic imagery is divided into three different types: the first is a woman with a phallic substitute, secondly, a woman without a phallus usually intimidated or mocked by women with a phallus and last, a woman as the phallus. In fetishistic imagery, the true focus is always the phallus, and not the woman itself. Men attain most pleasure from viewing voyeurism and fetishistic imagery because the men starts to feel more control and power of their own lives because the men identify themselves with the male protagonist. (Gaines, 1990.) Stated in Fetish: Fashion, Sex Power (Valerie Steel, 1996), many feminists interpret fetish as a symptom of patriarchy and capitalism, where the fetishist is always male and the female becomes the fetish itself, the perfect object. Fetishism is described as glorifying by some, however others would describe it as something negative, where the woman s desire has disappeared.
