Summer 2016Abstract When you hear the word Bacteria you automatically assume the worst; you
would conclude that it means something is contaminated or can be harmful. But in all actuality
that is not the case. Bacteria is used in laboratories every single day. It can be used to create
medicines and vaccines and can even be found naturally occurring in our food and environment. To
change the stigma that comes with bacteria, it had to be studied and researched and one of those
methods of research would be the streaking method. Streaking, created by Robert Koch, is a
technique used to isolate a pure stain of species of microorganism . Samples are taken from the

This procedure describes the use of a mixed broth culture, where the culture contains many
different bacterial species. The specimen streaked on a plate could come in a several of forms,
such as solid or liquid samples and cotton or foam swabs. Material containing possibly infectious
agents should be handled in the lab using proper bio safety procedure. Remove the test tube cap;
Insert the loop into the culture tube and remove a loopful of broth. Replace the cap of the test tube
and place it back into the test tube rack. The lid of the agar plate has to be opened just enough to
streak the plate with the inoculation loop. Be mindful of the amount of agar and the length of time
the agar is exposed to the environment during the streaking process. Also avoid talking over the
plates, this keeps the plate from becoming contaminated. Loosen the cap of the bottle containing the
inoculum. Hold an inoculation loop in your right hand and flame the loop and allow it to cool. Lift
the test tube containing the inoculum with your left hand. Dip the loop into the broth and lightly
touch a colony with the loop. Sightly lift the lid of the Petri dish containing the solid medium.
Place a loopful of the culture on the agar surface. Flame the loop and cool it for 5 seconds by
touching an unused part of the agar surface close to the ouster partition of the plate, and then
drag it rapidly several times across the surface of area1. Remove the loop and close the Petri
dish. Reflame and cool the loop, and turn the petri dish 90В° then touch the loop to a corner of
the culture in area1 and drag it several times across the agar in area 2, hitting the original streak
only a few times. The loop should never enter into area 1 again. Remove the loop and close the
Petri dish. Reflame and cool the loop and again turn the dish 90В° anticlockwise. streak area 3 in

Reflection Of Visual Art
1a. Central focus for the segment
The central focus of the lesson is for students to demonstrate and show use of space, contrast, and
balance while creating an original idea that displays and the use of positive and negative space in
an equal amount. The purpose is for students to understand the elements and principles of visual arts
, which are value, contrast and balance. Students also learn how these concepts are still being used
in today s society.
1b. Linking skills, knowledge, and context
This is a first year class, so many students are unfamiliar with terms, such as value, contrast, space,
and balance, in terms of art. The students are familiar with the words, but are unfamiliar with how it
pertains to art. New definitions and techniques are introduced in this lesson. Students will continue
to use these new vocabulary terms in future lessons.
In this project students are required to make a total positive space image. To complete this,
students are to use line and shape in their design. The previous projects and lessons in this course
focused on the use of line and shape, so this project reinforces those terms and techniques so
students will use them in future projects.
The last aspect of this assignment is for students to see how the use of space makes interesting
designs. I show the students images of logos and symbols that effectively use positive and negative
space. With this, students can relate to the images and see how these techniques are still being used

Vertical Integration at Johnson Johnson
Johnson Johnson: Planning Vertical Integration
Team Synergy
April 4, 2011
In a competitive market to which Johnson and Johnson operates, the smallest of errors can lead to
consequences which can cut revenue. When large mistakes occur, millions of dollars are lost, and
even worse, there is a loss of customer confidence. Johnson and Johnson has had numerous recalls
in their consumer healthcare division recently, which rocked the organization s once sound image,
and diminished its profits. These recalls have hurt Johnson and Johnson s stocks and cost the
company about $900 million in sales last year (Rockoff, 2011).
Opportunity
For Johnson and Johnson to continue being an industry leader, change is needed. An overhaul of
the company s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The vertical integration of J J into health services was a win win for the company, employers
targeted as customers, and employees (Sarasohn Kahn, 2008). The expanded growth capability
through acquiring companies in the downstream will continue to help the organization offer more
products and services. The current problem is that with various product offerings the quality and
safety guidelines may have been overlooked. The product recalls have been a result of poor quality
management and errors in the manufacturing process. The key benefits of backward vertical
integration are: more control over the manufacturing of J J products, advanced technology, and
more trusted industry experience. If J J has greater control over the upstream (selection of raw
materials, production, manufacturing, marketing, and distribution) then greater stability and higher
quality goods will be sent to retailers.
Implementing Solutions
In order for Johnson Johnson to achieve success in its vertical integration process, they need to
create a new position under CEO, William Weldon to manage the Signature of Quality Committee
members (SOQ) and to oversee the full supply chain processes. This role will be known as the
Senior Director of Quality. Within the next 30 days, a Cross functional team made up of the CEO,
the Vice President of HR, and Ajit Shetty (in charge of operations for J J pharmaceuticals, medical
device and consumer segments)

Essay On Don Quixote
Don Quixote is considered the most influential work of literature. It has been around for more
than four hundred years. It is still being read and it is a work that is dear to many people s hearts.
The story is mainly about an older individual named Alonso Quixana who lives in La Mancha in
central Spain. After, he read thousands of book about knights he started to go insane and decides to
change his name to Don Quixote. So, when he finished all his books he started to believe that he
was one. In this piece Don Quixote experiences love, morality, law, justice and much more. But,
reality and fantasy are two major points in this story. This story is very much related in the 21st
century because in society today people who have big aspirations... Show more content on

Especially those who grew up not knowing how there life would turn out to be. A conflict that
has been going around in today s world is Dreamers those who have immigrant parents that were
brought to the United States in order to have a better life. These people s dreams have been
ruining more and more each day because there is little to no hope left in achieving those goals.
An impactful quote that was said in Don Quixote was, I do know who I am, and who is in my
depth has nothing to do with your ideas and with your expectations about me (book) What this
quote is trying to tell it s audience is that sometimes our highest most outrageous goals sometimes
seem untouchable and we get scared when other see us trying to reach that goal. The Scientific
Journal of Humanistic Studies states, Being something, someone, having an established identity is
comfortable, but becoming someone is risky (Cun 3). Having a dream isn t unhealthy or
dangerous nor is being imaginative either. But, the population tends to believe that if you are an
imaginative person you are going insane. Which is not the case, this is the reason why Don
Quixote de la Mancha became such a modern character. He was someone who desired to become
someone, and to be able to metamorphose the world in a more favorable way. At the time this book
was written reality and fantasy were two completely opposite terms, no one had ever thought to put
those two together. Cervantes sure made a bold

African American Immigration Issues
The U.S. has been facing a number of foreign policy issues, most of them regional, some of them
global. Washington s immigration policy has not changed significantly for almost 25 years. The
Obama Administration s immigration system continues to be an outmoded, hedged mess that
makes legal migration often all but impossible for many to achieve. According a report on the
Center for Migration Study (CMS) website, approximately 41.3 million immigrants lived in the
United Statesin 2013, accounting for 13 percent of the overall U.S. population, North and Central

Weary Blues By Langston Hughes
Poetry is a form of literature that is expressive and can sometimes communicate a message more
effectively than prose. It can be filled with literary elements and vivid language that can help poets
relay their message to the readers. What is fascinating about poetry, is that each poem can relate to
a person in multiple ways. In the poems Harlem and Weary Blues Langston Hughes uses language
that effectively communicates the overall themes of both poems and relates to the African
American experience at the time. The literary elements used in Harlem help Langston Hughes
effectively communicate the overall theme of dreams and its relation to the African American
experience. The poem Harlem is about a deferred dream and what happens to... Show more content

The poem Weary Blues is about a black man singing the blues and how he uses the music to
portray his life. The usage of similes, metaphors, and personification enhance the poem and
allows for Hughes message to effectively be conveyed. In line 10 Hughes writes, He made the
poor piano moan with melody. The usage of personification in this line gives the piano human
characteristics and readers can understand that the music the African American is playing is
melancholy. The dramatic personification clearly sets the mood of the poem. Line 10 is a
metaphor as well, describing the piano as a poor piano which helps create an image for the reader.
From the poem and its expressive language, readers find out that the man is singing the blues,
which is known to be a sad and depressing genre. Throughout the poem, the black man is singing
about his life and how it s filled with loneliness, troubles, and unhappiness. This was probably a
common feeling throughout many African Americans at the time due to social restrictions and
their suppressed lives. In line 35 Hughes writes, He slept like a rock or a man that s dead. The
powerful simile here ends the poem in an effective way. He slept like a rock shows that the man s
sleep was so deep and or man that s dead shows that it was as if he weren t even alive. In line 30 the

Ethics And Morality In Dao s Death
Dao is about balance and harmony. It s about avoiding the extremes. There would have to have
been Daoist assassins, according to the rules set by the Dao, if there were no assassins, then the
Dao would be unbalanced. Since Dao is about balance and harmony, one cannot exist without the
other. If there are life givers, then there would have to be life takers. Daoism teaches that the
universeis a balance of opposites: male and female, light and dark, low and high. In each case,
opposing forces should be in harmony. However, the problem arises, who would give the
commands to kill? Would it be random?
The Zhuangzi, expresses the idea of people being inherently karmically evil, [1] so it would be
very easy for a human to become corrupt, even the purest emperor. Based on this idea we would
have to believe that the people chosen to be assassinated couldn t be decided by a human. Then
who, or would it be more of a what; what would deciding factor? The question of morality and
ethics comes into play. Morality and ethics are philosophical words or names. Would an assassin
be restricted by ethics and morality? Or would they be exempt? The Daoist concerns of humanity
that ethics and morality supposedly cover would already be dealt with ... Show more content on

His perception and understanding have come to a stop and his spirit moves where it wants. He
goes along with the natural makeup of the creature, strike in the big hollows, guide the knife
through the big openings, and follow things as they are. [4] The assassin would have to follow his
spirit, following the way of nature, letting nature and the assassin s spirit be in tune with the Dao.
So then would it be an ethical kill? According to the Dao, it wouldn t matter if it was ethical or not.
To humanity would it be ethical; it s difficult to say because then emotions would come into play.

A Brief Note On Stones River National Battlefield
Stones River National Battlefield Stones River Battlefield was an obvious choice for this
assignment. I live and study in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. I know that there is a lot of history in the
area, but it is not often that we encounter this history on a daily basis. It is important to know about
the historybecause it helps us to understand the present and the culture of any area. I found that
this battlefield was actually very important to the events of the Civil War, therefore, I knew that
this would be a great place for me to visit for this assignment. There really is not that much
literature readily available about the Battle of Stones Riveror the Battlefield. Therefore, taking the
battlefield in in person becomes even more critical. It is amazing to see that the battlefield has
been preserved as well as it has been especially given the rapid industrialization that has occurred
in the city where it is located. I was able to locate a publication printed by the National Parks
Service that explains how the battlefield changed in the early 1990s. From this publication, I
found some startling information. The battlefield is located near a part of Murfreesboro that is
rapidly expanding and has been for some time. Not surprisingly, many of the original structures
have been completely removed to make way for housing divisions and shopping strip malls. During
the Civil War, there was a farmhouse located near the battlefield. The Confederate soldiers had to

The Community Needs Assessment For The Town Of...
The idea behind the community needs assessment for the town of Wallingford, Connecticut was to
critique the overall nutritional needs and health of the community. While preparing a community
needs assessment, some factors to consider are: government, programs both profit and non profit,
demographics, and the economy of the community. Wallingford, Connecticut is a relatively
small town just breaking 45,135 residents. Situated between New Haven and Hartford it is
approximately thirty nine square miles. Wallingford has a mayor council type of government;
being led by Mayor William W. Dickinson Jr. who has been in office as mayor for thirty years.
The town has also inputted a charter of which has been effective since January 1, 1962. In
addition to the mayor, voters elect the town council, the board of education and the state legislator.
The town council elects two chairman in addition to various other members. A superintendent
leads the board of education; as of right now Salvatore Menzo holds the position. The board of
education is then broken down to a chair and vice chair in addition to various representatives under
these positions. The state legislator representing the town of Wallingford is Mary Muchinsky, 85th
district. Wallingford s population consists of 51% females and 49% males. Although the ratio of
males to females is nearly half and half this isn t the case with nationalities in the town. The
majority of the town is Caucasian at about 91%. The second

The Queen Of England During The Tudor Dynasty
Queen Elizabeth I, wrote one of the most famous and inspiring speeches of all times. Elizabeth I
was the queen of England during the Tudor Dynasty. Tudor period was a time of England s
introduction to Renaissance culture. Humanism became the most important force in Tudor
literary and life. Elizabeth I was not only the most feared queen at the time, she was also a
writer. She wrote Speech to the Troops at Tillbury (1588), which was written for the British
troops stationed at Tilbury in 1588 as they waited for the Spanish to invade. Literary during the
Tudor period had an overly ornate meaning with hidden messages. Speech to the Troops at
Tillbury, was definitely an ornate speech, an example was the famous quote, I know I have the
body but of a weak and feeble woman; but I have the heart and stomach of a king, and of a king
of England too (1588) Elizabeth I, knew in reality she could not lead her troops into battle but
she wished she could. The people of England had great respect for her and she had respect for the
people. Therefore making Queen Elizabeth I and her speech one of the most successful Tudor
speeches in history. Humanism had a massive impact to Tudor literary. Humanists searched for
wisdom achieved by ancient Greece and Rome. Aristotle s who was a well known Greek
philosopher, introduced humanism. He believed in mortal which was the soul and immortal, which
was the body. Elizabeth I most famous speech was given to her troops gathered at Tilbury, to fight

Key Stakeholders
With any business there are always stakeholders. These people are influenced by businesses.
However, they also have the ability to influence businesses. Consequently, the relationship between
businesses and stakeholders is a two way street. According to Ferrell, Ferrell, and Fraedrich (2010),
In a business context, customers, investors and shareholders, employees, suppliers, government
agencies, communities, and many others who have a stake or claim in some aspect of a company s
product, operations, markets, industry, and outcome are known as stakeholders (p. 30).
Although most corporations have emphasized shareholders as the most important stakeholder
group, the failure to consider all significant stakeholders can lead to ethical lapses. Stakeholders
are likely to shift their prospective of a company after unethical actions have been exposed to the
public. The key stakeholders in this situation are the Wal Mart associates, taxpayers, and
shareholders. The stakeholder model of corporate social responsibility considers obligations firms
may face as moral agents to employees, customers and other stakeholders. Most employees rely on
their employer to provide some type of health care benefits because most cannot afford health

Summary Of Early Childhood Observation
The child s engagement in imaginative or fantasy play is typically of a preschooler s functioning
level. Preschoolers delight in fantasy and play and engage their newly found cognitive abilities to
extend their world of make believe (Timberlake Culter, 2005). He appeared to delight in fantasy

suggesting his age and development is consistent with the expectations of a preschooler. According
to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) social and emotional developmental

The Role Of Women In William Shakespeare s Macbeth
Women were thought as second class citizens and were not given a large role in society.
Throughout history, women have a limited amount of work they are permitted to do, and are
confined to doing housework. The role women had was teaching and taking care of the children at
home, cleaning the house, and cooking and having food ready for the husbands when they come
home after work. As evidence of characterization of female characters in Macbethby William
Shakespeare, the Elizabethan period had a lack of respect for women, but Shakespeare changed it
by having powerful, strong and independent female characters, like Lady Macbeth. Throughout
history, women have not had the same amount of right and respect as the men. Women were
regarded as the weaker sex , not just in terms of physical strength, but emotionally too (Sharnette).
According to Shakespeare s World/Stage, During the time of William Shakespeare, the majority
of women had very limited rights in England. Despite the fact that England was ruled by a female
monarch for over four decades, most women had little power over the direction of their lives
(Stephan). Once women were married, they were expected to bring a dowry, which is an amount
of money, goods, or property that the bride would bring to the marriage. After marriage Elizabethan
women were expected to run the households and provide children (Alchin). At the time of
Shakespeare, England was rule as a monarch, but the father and son still ruled

what happened this day in 1963. The bombing at the 16th street baptist church in Birmingham,

context of what exactly was going on during this time. The author, Randall Dudley, was born on

Birmingham. Located in the heart of downtown, it was known to host such historic figures as

John F. Kennedy s Civil Rights Speech
Does everyone deserve civil rights? John F. Kennedy believed so during the Civil Rights

major leaders were Martin Luther King Jr., Malcolm X, and John F. Kennedy. The purpose of the
Civil Rights Movement was to end discrimination and prejudice among whites and blacks. Many
African Americans did not have the same rights as Caucasians mainly due to their skin being a

s speech was racism. In The Nation Faces a Moral Crisis in Regard to Race , John F. Kennedy

The Cold War Between America And The Soviet Union
The Cold War
The Cold War occurred after the traumatic events of World War 2, that lasted almost 50 years,
beginning in 1945 and lasting through 1991. Even though, the United States and the Soviet Union
were allies during World War 2, political tensions arose between the two nations that resulted in the
production of nuclear weaponry, race of producing superior space mechanisms, and billions of
dollars spent.
The Cold Waris used to describe the relationship between America and the Soviet Union 1945 to
1980. Neither side ever fought the other the consequences would be too appalling but they did fight
for their beliefs using client states who fought for their beliefs on their behalf, South Vietnam was
anti communist and was supplied by America during the war while North Vietnam was pro
Communist and fought the south (and the Americans) using weapons from communist Russia or
communist China. In Afghanistan, the Americans supplied the rebel Afghans after the Soviet
Union invaded in 1979 while they never physically involved themselves thus avoiding a direct clash
with the Soviet Union.

Why I Fail In High School Essay
It is impossible to live without failing at something, unless you live so cautiously that you might
as well not have lived at all in which case, you fail by default. Those words were spoken by J.K
Rowling. That s the thing. We often have this idea in our heads about being perfect all the time,
and without making any mistakes. But the world doesn t work that way. No one grows without
making mistakes here and there. The way we can grow, is by learningfrom our mistakes. Growing
is what we need to be successful in life. Here we are, 8th grade graduation. We started making
mistakes when we were just little babies. We crawled around on the ground while eating anything

Templin, I learned that people need to stand up for their actions, even if it has bad consequences.
We messed up by thinking that if we keep quiet, we won t get in trouble.
From Mr. Voigt, I learned that you don t have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great.
We made errors by thinking that we will constantly fail, and then we get too scared to try.
And so do we make mistakes on those life lessons? Yes. Do we learn from them? Yes.
I mean, I could go on and on about every single teacher in our lives that have impacted us, and
helped us learn, but that would take far too long.
The moral of the story is, we learn things that help us become better people. That s called growth.
We ve grown. Not just by height, but as a person. We ve made mistakes, we ve failed, but we got
back up. And everyone around helps us, and made us the people we are today.
J.K Rowling gave us an inspiring quote, but so did Newton D. Baker. He said, I hope your
dreams take you to the corners of your smiles, to the highest of your hopes, to the windows of your
opportunities, and to the most special places your heart has ever known.
I d like to end this with a thank you. Thank you parents, staff, and friends, for contributing to our

A Dolphin Research Paper
Dolphins: Mammals of the Sea.
Although they live in the water, dolphins are not fish, they are mammals. Dolphins are like
humans in many ways, they are warm blooded, they give birth, they are mammals, and they
come in many different color, shapes, and sizes. They have a dorsal fin that is essential to help
them from rolling over and to help with sharp turns when swimming. Dolphins have a melon, also
known as their head. They have tail fins called a fluke. There are about forty currently living
species of dolphins living all over the world. The colors of dolphins may include blue, grey, white,
black, and pink. These colors can sometimes make the dolphin look camouflage. They have no
sweat glands or hair. Dolphins have smooth, hairless, rubbery skin to aid them in swimming easily

They typically eat five percent of their body weight. Most of the time dolphins hunt as a team.
Dolphins mainly eat fish and squid. Some dolphins will eat prawns, crabs, or octopuses. Orcas
will eat seals, turtles, and other dolphins or whales. When eating their food dolphins do not chew,
even though they have 100 teeth. They will shake or rub their food on the ocean floor to break it
into small pieces, from there they will swallow the food.
They are very smart; in fact, they have one of the the most powerful brains in the world. They
can teach, learn, and show feelings and emotion. Dolphins are always learning new tricks. They
can also speak using sounds and whistling. Dolphins have strong memories as well. Dolphins have
shown they are good at problem solving. They are pretty intelligent because they have proven they
have self awareness. This means they can recognize themselves as an individual and recognize
themselves in a mirror. Some dolphins can use tools. For example, they will cover their snouts with
a sponge when looking for food to protect it from injuring it.
This particular species of mammals are very social. They mostly live in pods of up

Analysis Of The Absurd
The Absurd
It is safe to say the idea of absurdism can be linked to meaningless, and other such words that
express a destination without the means to there and vice versa. In Camus famous fictional novel,
he shows how one s perception of life can be effected when faced with death. The Stranger reflects
Camus philosophical stance on absurdism. There is no truth, no certainty, or any unwavering, non
relative laws in life. There is no sense in pursuing impossibilities. But if life is in a sense pointless,
why continue living?
It seems as if Meursault does not want himself to be happy. This can be assumed from reading
the text. More specifically from chapter six of the Stranger on pages forty seven through fifty
nine. He could have had new job which would have paid substantially more in Paris, a loving
girlfriend whom wanted to marry him despite his flaws, and seemingly reliable and trustworthy
friends. Meursault had so many doors open for him filled with opportunities but he throws all his
chances of happiness away once he murders the Arab man on the beach.
Existence can be categorized as standing out or doing something that sets you aside from others
and the environment. Meursault s only desire was to be free from hope because hope meant that
there was a disconnection between who he should ve been and who he actually was. His only
wish was to almost blend into his environment or in other words become invisible to society so he
didn t have to be who the rest of the world

Why College Is Valuable Essay
There are many main reasons why college is valuable; however, the one I personally think is
most valuable is, because it is helping one s self build self esteem. College is much more than
just a degree towards your career. Through perseverance, and knowing how you handle things in
college a life lesson, yet you truly learn who you are. By finding which direction you want to go in
life more than likely builds up your self esteem. College can truly better yourself overall, and
gaining overall confidence in your career. What is self esteem? It is a judgment based on yourself,

Most students who attend college are on an extreme budget; however, by learning how to
manage one s money in a life skills class can be very valuable in college. From here on, when I
get overwhelmed with how much money something will be I look back at when I took my
success strategy class in my first year of college; in a college success strategy really prepares
student s for life skills that they will need. Also, in success strategy class I learned how to
budget money, and my financial aid. Therefore, this was a very valuable life lesson that
everyone should carry on into one s first career. These management skills help students later in

Descriptive Experience Of Roller Coasters
#Roller coasters are mainly recognized for the thrill. When I was younger I was always
fascinated by the bright colors that they represented. A variety of rides caught my attention but I
was always afraid to get on the highest roller coasters. From what I remember as a child my
family and I visited multiple amusement parks such as Six Flags, Knott s Berry Farm and
Disneyland. All those ravishing places impacted my curiosity about roller coasters stability. Since I
was only an adolescent my curiosity arbitrary sparked on its own it was only until then when I
began to think differently. Although I was too afraid to ride the highest roller coasters I was
primarily curious about the height, velocity, and thrill excitement.
#One of my main concerns of these rollercoasters was the height they all incorporated with each
other. It appeared to me like skyscrapers left to right in a threesixty circular motion. These roller
coasters were exceedingly high up in the sky something I never understood was who would
construct these enormous attractions. I repeatedly questioned the height of these rides while I
stared at them continuously trying not to panic every time I looked up. Acrophobia is significantly
the fear of height, which I appeared to been having every time I visited an amusement park. My
family habitually attempted to give me motivation so my fear of heights wouldn t make me
uncomfortable. In addition, one of the countless days I visited the parks I saw a young boy around

The Importance Of Artificial Stutrition And Hydration
I will argue that withdrawing artificial nutrition and hydration is not morally different from
withdrawing other types of life sustaining treatment. I will argue the opinion using the ethical
principle of beneficence, researching medical treatments of artificial nutrition and providing
example of life sustaining treatments that are equally in similar to artificial nutrition and hydration.
In the vignette of Ms. Conrad, I argue reasons for removing a Nasogastric Intubation (NG) to reduce
other medical complications that can occur, and the discomfort the tube could cause to the patient.
Life sustaining treatment refers to all treatments which have the potential to postpone a patient s
death. Examples of such treatments include those of mechanical ventilation, dialysis,
cardiopulmonary resuscitation, antibiotics, and artificial nutrition and hydration. I believe that
withdrawing artificial nutrition is not morally different from other types of life sustaining
treatment. Artificial nutrition and hydration is a medical treatment that allows a person to receive
nutrients when they are unable to take them by themselves. The treatment is provided by medical
professionals through an intravenous administration or by methods of inserting a tube in the patient
s stomach. The reasons why this particular treatment is not morally different is because the
procedure is at inconvenience to the patient; not at the patient s comfort. Artificial nutrition and
hydration does not offer the

Lenzing Ag Case
Lenzing AG: Expanding in Indonesia
Case Review
Summary
Lenzing AG is one of the worlds largest rayon fiber manufacturers, originating in Lenzing, Austria.
In 1938 Lenzing AG was founded, starting pulp and viscose fiber production.
Up until the 1980 s, Lenzing was a company that held its production and management in the same
country and town where the company had originated. Until one day , the Chairman of Lenzing had
agreed to go into a joint partnership with an international investor. The joint venture was with an
Indian entrepreneur by the name of Ashok Birla, who saw opportunity in Indonesia for Lenzing and
the rayon industry within. Lenzing viewed this as an opportunity to break out of their domestic

As a producer of rayon, Lenzing s most important fundamental constituent is dissolving grade
pulp. This is a rather uncommon form of pulp, in which they have been purchasing from Brazil to
their production plant in Indonesia. This would be viewed as a weakness, as in Indonesia there
are 14 pulp producers, none with the technology to create the dissolving grade pulp, but pulp none
the less. I believe that Lenzing has an opportunity to create an agreement with one or more of these
local pulp producers, to enable them to produce the necessary grade of pulp.
As rayon requires a large amount of pulp for its production, they have purchased a percentage of a
company in Brazil to meet their pulp needs. For Lenzing, this was a valuable purchase and has
made it possible for them to continue the production of rayon in Indonesia. Although, I believe that
there is an opportunity locally that would satisfy their need for pulp. Indonesia has 14 producers of
pulp, none of them with the technology to create the required grade that is needed in the
production of rayon. Rather than purchasing a percentage of the pulp company in brazil, and
having to ship the pulp time after time internationally, it could have been a more economical
transaction with the Indonesian pulp companies. There could have been an opportunity to

Study Of Organisms Living On The Rocky Shore Essay
On Wednesday the 9th of March, Students from Sacred Heart College Travelled by Bus to Siren s

the rocky shore. The rocky shore consists of the low tide, mid tide, high tide and splash zones. We
used quadrats to sample which species was located in these zones and we did this when the tide
was low. Quadrats is a sampling method used to see which organisms are located in certain
proportions. The species I have chosen to talk about in my report today is one type of Limpet and
one type of Top Shell. The common name for the Limpet I found is the Golden/ Radiate Limpet of
whose scientific name is Cellana Radians which was found in the lower intertidal zone. The Cellana
Radians is predated by starfish, whelks and shore birds. The Limpet is an herbivore because it
eats Algae and Angiosperm which both are types of growing plants located within the rocky
shore. The common name for the species of Top shell I found was actually Scorched Monodont

goal was to gain knowledge by doing research on human beings. However, none of their research

humans would react to receiving an illness without having a vaccination. All humans who
suffered from the illness ended up dying or almost dead. They were then transferred to a room
for dissection, even if they were still alive. What scientists were doing this for was to learn how
to successfully keep Japanese troops alive and healthy, and know a way to treat them if they were

change which took place, almost immediately after Mr. Dimmesdale s death, in the appearance
and demeanor of the old man known as Roger Chillingworth. He positively withered up, and

Iranian Nuclear Threat Essay
The possibility of Iran soon having nuclear weapons is no joke. The Iranian government is
growing closer to this goal every day. The Iranian government has totally disregarded United
States government s sanctions against their nuclear program and still continues to enrich uranium.
An unsafe goal for such an unstable country as Iran these weapons could easily be put to use
against countries like the US and Israel whom Iran openly despises. Iran does all this while also
testing long range missile systems capable of launching a missile over 300 miles easily reaching
countries like Israel and its neighbors. Iran is also working on an inter continental missile which
would have ranges of much over ten times of what the country has now. Therefore... Show more

create a nuclear weapon that it would end up to be in the hands of one of these terrorist
organizations. The result of this would be devastating not only would it immediately be used
against a country like the US or Israel there would also be no where to hit back as these
organizations do not have a home country . Al Qaeda has already proved themselves able
through 9/11, why would they even pause when they have an opportunity that would be 10 times
as deadly as 9/11 was. Does the US government truly need a repeat of this before they realize the
true potential a threat like this has to offer and, how important it is to stop it in anyway necessary?
Additionally, the Iranian nuclear program is a direct threat to the United States of America. Iran
has made it clear through many demonstrations that they despise the US and its actions in the
Middle East. They have also been testing inter continental missiles that would possibly be able to
get to reach the US. Iran has shown hostility to Iran in the past with the Iranian hostage crisis were

The Morality Of Peer And File Sharing
Introduction
The purpose of this essay is to assess the morality of peer to peer file sharing. I will be addressing
the ethics of downloading media that is difficult or expensive to obtain legally. It is my
considered opinion that is morally acceptable to download files when media is extraordinarily
difficult or expensive to explain legally. I will defend my position with an appeal to law and an
appeal to consequences. In the United States, it is illegal to make or download copies of
copyrighted material.
Argument
The internet completely changed the business of copyright infringement. While the internet makes
it easier to identify copyright violations, it also enables those same violators to a previously
unprecedented degree. This is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This despite the fact that pirates download episodes of one of their most expensive shows of all
time at a rate of 2.5 million downloads per episode. The president of programming for HBO has
said that piracy is not hurting the company and that the record setting piracy is sort of a
compliment. The CEO of Time Warner, HBO s parent company, went further saying that the piracy
was better than an Emmy as praise for the quality of the show. (Dewey)
The positive consequences of Game of Thrones piracy are not just limited to HBO and Time
Warner, HBO s parent company. There are the cable and satellite companies profits of course.
Even more important are the millions of dollars spent on Game of Thrones merchandise and
DVDs which are profitable, not only to HBO because of licensing, but also to the manufacturers,
distributors, and retailers that sell them. Piracy boosts the popularity of the show, which in turn
keeps actors, writers, and production crews in several countries employed. Even the nations that
host production sites also have positive economic benefits because of profit sharing, tourism, and
the increased spending at local businesses. If all of the consequences of pirating Game of Thrones
are good then how can downloading it be immoral?
Next, we need to examine the motivations of pirates. In the case of Game of

Ivory Poaching Research Paper
Ivory Poaching: Are Elephants Becoming Extinct? Poaching for the ivory tusks from elephants has
become a more prominent idea within the past twenty years. Elephants are killed for their tusks
made of ivory. These are typically used for jewelry, ornamental carvings, and art objects. (Perlez,
1989, n.p.). The elephantpopulation has slowly dwindled down throughout the years because of the
poaching for ivoryand it has caused elephants in some countries to become extinct.
The poaching of elephants for their tusks has driven the animal in some countries such as Sierra
Leone and Senegal to the point of extinction. More than 30,000 elephants were slaughtered in
Africa last year alone, 382 of them in Kenya. (Stewart, 2013n n.p.).

Poachers have the biggest risk involved in this, due to them actually having to kill the elephant.
They can earn $50 $100 per kilogram. The higher up the chain that the ivory moves, the more the
price raises and the poacher will make more money. By the time that the ivory reaches its highest
level, it can earn up to $3,000 per kilogram. (Stewart, 2013, n.p.). The risks of killing elephants
for their ivory tusks might be a risky job, but many poachers believe that it is worth the effort.
One poacher was interviewed and he revealed that his motivation behind poaching elephants was
because he was jobless. He said I was jobless. Our family had nothing. A friend lured me into it.
He said if we killed an elephant, we could sell its tusks. I did that and got money. So I decided that
would be my full time job. (Mutiga, 2014, n.p.). Although the benefits of poaching an elephant for
their ivory tusks might seem high, they are not. These poachers are endangering the elephant
population and could eventually cause them to become completely

The Flea by John Donne and To His Coy Mistress by Andrew...
The Flea by John Donne and To His Coy Mistress by Andrew Marvell
The Flea by John Donne is written in the 17th century as is To his coy mistress by Andrew
Marvell. This we can see by the language used which was typical of that period in time apt to kill
me and yea which are taken from the flea. Both poems also speak of virginity being very
important, especially before marriage because if a woman had lost her maidenhead before, the
husband would have the right to leave her without the need for a divorce.
Both poems have the same theme of seduction. In The flea this is put across in each in three
regular stanzas where as To His Coy Mistress is written in to sections. This is to convey that each

By the third verse the lady has killed the flea attempting to squash his contention. He then attempts
to make her feel guilty cruel and sudden, hast thou since, Purpled thy nail, in blood of innocence?
To his coy mistress is based on the same theme as The flea as
Marvell tries to woo his unyielding mistress with the hackneyed argument that time is
exceptionally precious and does not stop for anyone or anything and that we should live for the
moment, enjoying our selves to the maximum. Times winged chariot hurrying near; this is a
reference to the Greek mythology that the sun was pulled across the sky by the God Apollo.
Throughout the three similar length sections Marvell uses flattery and a strong, persuasive
argument. In section one lines 1 25 Marvell uses flattery as the introduction to his line of reasoning
and assures her that he will always love her, his love growing stronger as this is what she deserves
and should be rightfully hers. For, Lady, you deserve this state, Nor would I love at lower rate.

Bye-Bye Birdie Counterculture
Bye Bye Birdie Directed by George Sidney is a movie filmed in 1963. In the movie, a rock star
named Conrad Birdie (played by Jesse Pearson) receives a notice that he is being drafted into the
war, but before he leaves for war he travels to a small town in Ohio to perform a farewell
television performance and to kiss his biggest fan. Although the film takes place in 1958, the movie
reflects the time which it was filmed in (1963). The sixties jump started a counterculture that would
change the landscape of the United Statesand the World. The sixties in the United States was an
era driven by a movement of people, mainly youth, fighting for new radical political ideals such as
the support for Civil Rights, Women s Rights, and Gay Rights while opposing war and the political
establishment. In a way to fight the establishment and express new views, mainstream
counterculture revolutionized pop culture by popularizing the acceptance of drugs and sex and

MacAfee dyes her hair and when her mother (played by Mary LaRoche) confronts her about it she
argues that it is her hair to do what she pleases which reflects the movement made in the Sixties for
women to have control over their own body. A major theme that grew immensely popular during
the sixties was the feminism movement (things like women s birth control pills were created in
1960). This theme of feminism was definitely reflected in the

Essay On Recreational Marijuana
Government Ruling on Recreational Marijuana
Marijuana has been used long before it showed up in the United states. It was widly popular and
used among some of the world s earliest civilizations. Historic Documents show that the cannabis
plants were used to produce rope and fabric around 7000 B.C in South and Central Asia. It was
also found being referenced in Chinese manuscripts dating all the way back to 2700 B.C. In the
1500 s marijuana, known as Cannabis Sativa was used to make industrial goods. The recreational
use in America became popular in the early 20th century. Misunderstandings started to arise shortly
after. The idea that Marijuana was as bad cocaine or heroin was along the lines of the
misunderstandings that the plant had, but there have never been any records of human deaths due
to intake of Cannabis Sativa or Cannabis Indica. There is in fact a difference between Marijuana
and Hemp , but the distinctions has always been confusing. They are both species of the same genus
botanically speaking. What separates the two is the amount of anti psychoactive and Psychoactive

The Traditional American Family
The traditional American family can be traced back to the aggressive marketing in the 1950 s.
The image of a white, middle class family owning a moderate sized home with a well kept lawn.
The father is the head of the household who would teach his kids all the life lessons and be the
only source of income by working a white collar, corporate job. The mother would stay at home
in a full skirt and heels looking after the kids, preparing meals, and taking care of the house. The
kids, usually two, would be well behaved and well dressed. This view of the familyis narrow and
rigid, but through aggressive media portrayals has come to be viewed as normal and ideal.
Shows such as Leave it to Beaver and Father knows best reinforced that idea of a good family
eating together at dinner, praying together, and being proud of the nation. Today, that ideal
family image still holds its place in today s culture, but there has been a dramatic shift from that
ideal to a more diverse representation of the American family. The tradition family has become a
sort of fairy tale that can never be achieved. It is now more common to see both parents working
to support the family, more women are breaking into the workforce and even fathers are staying
home to be the caretaker. A closer look at the data from suggests the traditional family ideal failed
to be widely accepted and instead media outlets are scrambling to capture the image of the modern
family.

The Cost Of Passenger Cruise
1.After running two different regression models using passenger cruise days and number of
passengers to predict which variable better estimates total cost, the data (including a slightly
higher adjusted r squared) suggests the number of passenger cruise days acts as a better
predictor of total costs. The number of passenger cruise days is more economically plausible
because it is more logical to allocate the costs based on the number of passenger cruise days
rather than the number of passengers. More specifically, number of passengers does not fully
explain the amount of total costs because of the varying duration of trips. For example, consider
an instance where Carnival accommodates one thousand passengers on a four day cruise and
one thousand passengers on a seven day cruise. Theoretically total costs would be the same
when using number of passengers to explain total costs because each cruise accommodates the
same number of passengers. On the other hand, when one considers the length of a cruise, total
costs should be higher for longer cruises. Per the example above, a seven day cruise will have
higher costs than a four day cruise because of the additional resources needed to accommodate
passengers for a longer period of time. 2.In order to determine whether two independent variables
better explain cost than a single regression (See #1), the group ran a two separate multiple
regression. The first multiple regression was run with the number of passenger cruise days

  • 2. Streaking Research Paper Streaking Method Samantha Walthall Dr. Gerald McShepard BIO 411 01 Summer 2016Abstract When you hear the word Bacteria you automatically assume the worst; you would conclude that it means something is contaminated or can be harmful. But in all actuality that is not the case. Bacteria is used in laboratories every single day. It can be used to create medicines and vaccines and can even be found naturally occurring in our food and environment. To change the stigma that comes with bacteria, it had to be studied and researched and one of those methods of research would be the streaking method. Streaking, created by Robert Koch, is a technique used to isolate a pure stain of species of microorganism . Samples are taken from the resulting ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This procedure describes the use of a mixed broth culture, where the culture contains many different bacterial species. The specimen streaked on a plate could come in a several of forms, such as solid or liquid samples and cotton or foam swabs. Material containing possibly infectious agents should be handled in the lab using proper bio safety procedure. Remove the test tube cap; Insert the loop into the culture tube and remove a loopful of broth. Replace the cap of the test tube and place it back into the test tube rack. The lid of the agar plate has to be opened just enough to streak the plate with the inoculation loop. Be mindful of the amount of agar and the length of time the agar is exposed to the environment during the streaking process. Also avoid talking over the plates, this keeps the plate from becoming contaminated. Loosen the cap of the bottle containing the inoculum. Hold an inoculation loop in your right hand and flame the loop and allow it to cool. Lift the test tube containing the inoculum with your left hand. Dip the loop into the broth and lightly touch a colony with the loop. Sightly lift the lid of the Petri dish containing the solid medium. Place a loopful of the culture on the agar surface. Flame the loop and cool it for 5 seconds by touching an unused part of the agar surface close to the ouster partition of the plate, and then drag it rapidly several times across the surface of area1. Remove the loop and close the Petri dish. Reflame and cool the loop, and turn the petri dish 90В° then touch the loop to a corner of the culture in area1 and drag it several times across the agar in area 2, hitting the original streak only a few times. The loop should never enter into area 1 again. Remove the loop and close the Petri dish. Reflame and cool the loop and again turn the dish 90В° anticlockwise. streak area 3 in the same way as area 2, hitting last area several times. Remove the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Reflection Of Visual Art 1a. Central focus for the segment The central focus of the lesson is for students to demonstrate and show use of space, contrast, and balance while creating an original idea that displays and the use of positive and negative space in an equal amount. The purpose is for students to understand the elements and principles of visual arts , which are value, contrast and balance. Students also learn how these concepts are still being used in today s society. 1b. Linking skills, knowledge, and context This is a first year class, so many students are unfamiliar with terms, such as value, contrast, space, and balance, in terms of art. The students are familiar with the words, but are unfamiliar with how it pertains to art. New definitions and techniques are introduced in this lesson. Students will continue to use these new vocabulary terms in future lessons. In this project students are required to make a total positive space image. To complete this, students are to use line and shape in their design. The previous projects and lessons in this course focused on the use of line and shape, so this project reinforces those terms and techniques so students will use them in future projects. The last aspect of this assignment is for students to see how the use of space makes interesting designs. I show the students images of logos and symbols that effectively use positive and negative space. With this, students can relate to the images and see how these techniques are still being used ... • 4. Vertical Integration at Johnson Johnson Johnson Johnson: Planning Vertical Integration Team Synergy April 4, 2011 In a competitive market to which Johnson and Johnson operates, the smallest of errors can lead to consequences which can cut revenue. When large mistakes occur, millions of dollars are lost, and even worse, there is a loss of customer confidence. Johnson and Johnson has had numerous recalls in their consumer healthcare division recently, which rocked the organization s once sound image, and diminished its profits. These recalls have hurt Johnson and Johnson s stocks and cost the company about $900 million in sales last year (Rockoff, 2011). The vertical integration of J J into health services was a win win for the company, employers targeted as customers, and employees (Sarasohn Kahn, 2008). The expanded growth capability through acquiring companies in the downstream will continue to help the organization offer more products and services. The current problem is that with various product offerings the quality and safety guidelines may have been overlooked. The product recalls have been a result of poor quality management and errors in the manufacturing process. The key benefits of backward vertical integration are: more control over the manufacturing of J J products, advanced technology, and more trusted industry experience. If J J has greater control over the upstream (selection of raw materials, production, manufacturing, marketing, and distribution) then greater stability and higher quality goods will be sent to retailers. Implementing Solutions In order for Johnson Johnson to achieve success in its vertical integration process, they need to create a new position under CEO, William Weldon to manage the Signature of Quality Committee members (SOQ) and to oversee the full supply chain processes. This role will be known as the Senior Director of Quality. Within the next 30 days, a Cross functional team made up of the CEO, the Vice President of HR, and Ajit Shetty (in charge of operations for J J pharmaceuticals, medical device and consumer segments) ... • 5. Essay On Don Quixote Don Quixote is considered the most influential work of literature. It has been around for more than four hundred years. It is still being read and it is a work that is dear to many people s hearts. The story is mainly about an older individual named Alonso Quixana who lives in La Mancha in central Spain. After, he read thousands of book about knights he started to go insane and decides to change his name to Don Quixote. So, when he finished all his books he started to believe that he was one. In this piece Don Quixote experiences love, morality, law, justice and much more. But, reality and fantasy are two major points in this story. A conflict that has been going around in today s world is Dreamers those who have immigrant parents that were brought to the United States in order to have a better life. These people s dreams have been ruining more and more each day because there is little to no hope left in achieving those goals. An impactful quote that was said in Don Quixote was, I do know who I am, and who is in my depth has nothing to do with your ideas and with your expectations about me (book) What this quote is trying to tell it s audience is that sometimes our highest most outrageous goals sometimes seem untouchable and we get scared when other see us trying to reach that goal. The Scientific Journal of Humanistic Studies states, Being something, someone, having an established identity is comfortable, but becoming someone is risky (Cun 3). Having a dream isn t unhealthy or dangerous nor is being imaginative either. But, the population tends to believe that if you are an imaginative person you are going insane. Which is not the case, this is the reason why Don Quixote de la Mancha became such a modern character. He was someone who desired to become someone, and to be able to metamorphose the world in a more favorable way. At the time this book was written reality and fantasy were two completely opposite terms, no one had ever thought to put those two together. Cervantes sure made a bold ... • 7. Weary Blues By Langston Hughes Poetry is a form of literature that is expressive and can sometimes communicate a message more effectively than prose. It can be filled with literary elements and vivid language that can help poets relay their message to the readers. What is fascinating about poetry, is that each poem can relate to a person in multiple ways. In the poems Harlem and Weary Blues Langston Hughes uses language that effectively communicates the overall themes of both poems and relates to the African American experience at the time. The literary elements used in Harlem help Langston Hughes effectively communicate the overall theme of dreams and its relation to the African American experience. The poem Weary Blues is about a black man singing the blues and how he uses the music to portray his life. The usage of similes, metaphors, and personification enhance the poem and allows for Hughes message to effectively be conveyed. In line 10 Hughes writes, He made the poor piano moan with melody. The usage of personification in this line gives the piano human characteristics and readers can understand that the music the African American is playing is melancholy. The dramatic personification clearly sets the mood of the poem. Line 10 is a metaphor as well, describing the piano as a poor piano which helps create an image for the reader. From the poem and its expressive language, readers find out that the man is singing the blues, which is known to be a sad and depressing genre. Throughout the poem, the black man is singing about his life and how it s filled with loneliness, troubles, and unhappiness. This was probably a common feeling throughout many African Americans at the time due to social restrictions and their suppressed lives. In line 35 Hughes writes, He slept like a rock or a man that s dead. The powerful simile here ends the poem in an effective way. He slept like a rock shows that the man s sleep was so deep and or man that s dead shows that it was as if he weren t even alive. In line 30 the man sings, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. Ethics And Morality In Dao s Death Dao is about balance and harmony. It s about avoiding the extremes. There would have to have been Daoist assassins, according to the rules set by the Dao, if there were no assassins, then the Dao would be unbalanced. Since Dao is about balance and harmony, one cannot exist without the other. If there are life givers, then there would have to be life takers. Daoism teaches that the universeis a balance of opposites: male and female, light and dark, low and high. In each case, opposing forces should be in harmony. However, the problem arises, who would give the commands to kill? Would it be random? The Zhuangzi, expresses the idea of people being inherently karmically evil, [1] so it would be very easy for a human to become corrupt, even the purest emperor. Based on this idea we would have to believe that the people chosen to be assassinated couldn t be decided by a human. Then who, or would it be more of a what; what would deciding factor? The question of morality and ethics comes into play. Morality and ethics are philosophical words or names. Would an assassin be restricted by ethics and morality? Or would they be exempt? • 9. A Brief Note On Stones River National Battlefield Stones River National Battlefield Stones River Battlefield was an obvious choice for this assignment. I live and study in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. I know that there is a lot of history in the area, but it is not often that we encounter this history on a daily basis. It is important to know about the historybecause it helps us to understand the present and the culture of any area. I found that this battlefield was actually very important to the events of the Civil War, therefore, I knew that this would be a great place for me to visit for this assignment. There really is not that much literature readily available about the Battle of Stones Riveror the Battlefield. Therefore, taking the battlefield in in person becomes even more critical. It is amazing to see that the battlefield has been preserved as well as it has been especially given the rapid industrialization that has occurred in the city where it is located. I was able to locate a publication printed by the National Parks Service that explains how the battlefield changed in the early 1990s. From this publication, I found some startling information. The battlefield is located near a part of Murfreesboro that is rapidly expanding and has been for some time. Not surprisingly, many of the original structures have been completely removed to make way for housing divisions and shopping strip malls. During the Civil War, there was a farmhouse located near the battlefield. The Confederate soldiers had to pass the house and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Wallingford, Connecticut is a relatively small town just breaking 45,135 residents. Situated between New Haven and Hartford it is approximately thirty nine square miles. Wallingford has a mayor council type of government; being led by Mayor William W. Dickinson Jr. who has been in office as mayor for thirty years. • 11. The Queen Of England During The Tudor Dynasty Queen Elizabeth I, wrote one of the most famous and inspiring speeches of all times. Elizabeth I was the queen of England during the Tudor Dynasty. Tudor period was a time of England s introduction to Renaissance culture. Humanism became the most important force in Tudor literary and life. Elizabeth I was not only the most feared queen at the time, she was also a writer. She wrote Speech to the Troops at Tillbury (1588), which was written for the British troops stationed at Tilbury in 1588 as they waited for the Spanish to invade. Literary during the Tudor period had an overly ornate meaning with hidden messages. Speech to the Troops at Tillbury, was definitely an ornate speech, an example was the famous quote, I know I have the body but of a weak and feeble woman; but I have the heart and stomach of a king, and of a king of England too (1588) Elizabeth I, knew in reality she could not lead her troops into battle but she wished she could. The people of England had great respect for her and she had respect for the people. Therefore making Queen Elizabeth I and her speech one of the most successful Tudor speeches in history. Humanism had a massive impact to Tudor literary. Humanists searched for wisdom achieved by ancient Greece and Rome. Aristotle s who was a well known Greek philosopher, introduced humanism. Key Stakeholders With any business there are always stakeholders. These people are influenced by businesses. However, they also have the ability to influence businesses. Consequently, the relationship between businesses and stakeholders is a two way street. According to Ferrell, Ferrell, and Fraedrich (2010), In a business context, customers, investors and shareholders, employees, suppliers, government agencies, communities, and many others who have a stake or claim in some aspect of a company s product, operations, markets, industry, and outcome are known as stakeholders (p. 30). Although most corporations have emphasized shareholders as the most important stakeholder group, the failure to consider all significant stakeholders can lead to ethical lapses. Stakeholders are likely to shift their prospective of a company after unethical actions have been exposed to the public. The key stakeholders in this situation are the Wal Mart associates, taxpayers, and shareholders. Throughout history, women have a limited amount of work they are permitted to do, and are confined to doing housework. The role women had was teaching and taking care of the children at home, cleaning the house, and cooking and having food ready for the husbands when they come home after work. As evidence of characterization of female characters in Macbethby William Shakespeare, the Elizabethan period had a lack of respect for women, but Shakespeare changed it by having powerful, strong and independent female characters, like Lady Macbeth. Throughout history, women have not had the same amount of right and respect as the men. Women were regarded as the weaker sex , not just in terms of physical strength, but emotionally too (Sharnette). According to Shakespeare s World/Stage, During the time of William Shakespeare, the majority of women had very limited rights in England. Despite the fact that England was ruled by a female monarch for over four decades, most women had little power over the direction of their lives (Stephan). Once women were married, they were expected to bring a dowry, which is an amount of money, goods, or property that the bride would bring to the marriage. After marriage Elizabethan women were expected to run the households and provide children (Alchin). At the time of Shakespeare, England was rule as a monarch, but the father and son still ruled ... The Civil Right Movement began around 1950 and ended around 1970. A few of the major leaders were Martin Luther King Jr., Malcolm X, and John F. Kennedy. The purpose of the Civil Rights Movement was to end discrimination and prejudice among whites and blacks. • 25. Analysis Of The Absurd The Absurd It is safe to say the idea of absurdism can be linked to meaningless, and other such words that express a destination without the means to there and vice versa. In Camus famous fictional novel, he shows how one s perception of life can be effected when faced with death. The Stranger reflects Camus philosophical stance on absurdism. There is no truth, no certainty, or any unwavering, non relative laws in life. There is no sense in pursuing impossibilities. But if life is in a sense pointless, why continue living? It seems as if Meursault does not want himself to be happy. This can be assumed from reading the text. More specifically from chapter six of the Stranger on pages forty seven through fifty nine. He could have had new job which would have paid substantially more in Paris, a loving girlfriend whom wanted to marry him despite his flaws, and seemingly reliable and trustworthy friends. Meursault had so many doors open for him filled with opportunities but he throws all his chances of happiness away once he murders the Arab man on the beach. Existence can be categorized as standing out or doing something that sets you aside from others and the environment. Meursault s only desire was to be free from hope because hope meant that there was a disconnection between who he should ve been and who he actually was. His only wish was to almost blend into his environment or in other words become invisible to society so he didn t have to be who the rest of the world ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

All those ravishing places impacted my curiosity about roller coasters stability. Since I was only an adolescent my curiosity arbitrary sparked on its own it was only until then when I began to think differently. Although I was too afraid to ride the highest roller coasters I was primarily curious about the height, velocity, and thrill excitement. #One of my main concerns of these rollercoasters was the height they all incorporated with each other. These roller coasters were exceedingly high up in the sky something I never understood was who would construct these enormous attractions. I repeatedly questioned the height of these rides while I stared at them continuously trying not to panic every time I looked up. Life sustaining treatment refers to all treatments which have the potential to postpone a patient s death. Examples of such treatments include those of mechanical ventilation, dialysis, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, antibiotics, and artificial nutrition and hydration. I believe that withdrawing artificial nutrition is not morally different from other types of life sustaining treatment. Artificial nutrition and hydration is a medical treatment that allows a person to receive nutrients when they are unable to take them by themselves. The treatment is provided by medical professionals through an intravenous administration or by methods of inserting a tube in the patient s stomach. • 50. The Traditional American Family The traditional American family can be traced back to the aggressive marketing in the 1950 s. The image of a white, middle class family owning a moderate sized home with a well kept lawn. The father is the head of the household who would teach his kids all the life lessons and be the only source of income by working a white collar, corporate job. The mother would stay at home in a full skirt and heels looking after the kids, preparing meals, and taking care of the house. The kids, usually two, would be well behaved and well dressed. This view of the familyis narrow and rigid, but through aggressive media portrayals has come to be viewed as normal and ideal. Shows such as Leave it to Beaver and Father knows best reinforced that idea of a good family eating together at dinner, praying together, and being proud of the nation. Today, that ideal family image still holds its place in today s culture, but there has been a dramatic shift from that ideal to a more diverse representation of the American family. The tradition family has become a sort of fairy tale that can never be achieved. It is now more common to see both parents working to support the family, more women are breaking into the workforce and even fathers are staying home to be the caretaker. • 51. The Cost Of Passenger Cruise 1.After running two different regression models using passenger cruise days and number of passengers to predict which variable better estimates total cost, the data (including a slightly higher adjusted r squared) suggests the number of passenger cruise days acts as a better predictor of total costs. The number of passenger cruise days is more economically plausible because it is more logical to allocate the costs based on the number of passenger cruise days rather than the number of passengers. More specifically, number of passengers does not fully explain the amount of total costs because of the varying duration of trips. For example, consider an instance where Carnival accommodates one thousand passengers on a four day cruise and one thousand passengers on a seven day cruise. Theoretically total costs would be the same when using number of passengers to explain total costs because each cruise accommodates the same number of passengers. On the other hand, when one considers the length of a cruise, total costs should be higher for longer cruises. Per the example above, a seven day cruise will have higher costs than a four day cruise because of the additional resources needed to accommodate passengers for a longer period of time. 2.In order to determine whether two independent variables better explain cost than a single regression (See #1), the group ran a two separate multiple regression. The first multiple regression was run with the number of passenger cruise days ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
